Coffee shop
La Kanna is a trendy and artsy restaurant that offers classic Italian and Mediterranean dishes with a spectacular view of the vibrant city center. The menu includes a variety of options such as chicken, lime leaf, and lemongrass soup, bacon fried with goat cheese and fresh tomato salsa, beet carpaccio, warm bread, risotto with fresh salmon and spinach. The restaurant also has an impressive wine list and serves local beers.
I came here for their lunch special (only weekdays) and was impressed about the quality and size of the portions for only 9.5 euros. It is definitely well priced lunch and also delicious, will definitely return when in Riga next time. The only down side was the wait time between the starter (soup) and the main dish, about 25 minutes. Other than that, excellent!

The food here is delicious, the menu is pretty small and there is not much choice but what they do have is very nice. The waiter was rushing us with everything despite the restaurants being almost empty. What i enjoyed most is the atmosphere - it is a very cozy vibe and has a very aesthetic interior which is perfect to have good conversations.

8/10 Very interesting experience, me and my girlfriend came in off the street as we didn't know where to eat today. We where immideatly greeted by the waiter and sat down. As we got the menus I was delighted by the rich selection of food. The only problem was that the waiter kept bugging us and coming every other minute asking if we are ready to order again and again. We felt really rushed, this was a pattern throughout our experience, the waiter was very pushy. The food was absolutely amazing, although I don't recommend this for picky eaters the foods all have very very rich and flavourful tastes. A culinary experience but I can't say I'm eager to come back. Overall I would definitely recommend. :)

Fortuidously stumbled across this place while searching for "restaurants near me", what a divine inspiration it was. The food was incredible. Casper is a lovely human being and fabulous waiter. He provided recommendations and took very good care of us. Most respect to the Chef, you could tell from his food that he is passionate about what he does. We had the Burrata, the Civiche, the Pasta a Potato Pancake and the Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil marinated Rhubarb. Wow! We'll definitely be back. Delightful service, exquisite food, cozy atmosphere. 💗🍴🙌🏼

Our small group went here for supper the other evening. We visited this restaurant quite some time ago and looked forward to our return. We were greeted kindly by staff and seated near the bar - comfy seats. The waiter took our drink and starters order and had them to our table very quickly. Both the antipasti plate and buratta were very good. We ordered our mains and enjoyed a few drinks while waiting. The waiter (also our bartender) was very friendly. He was suggesting drinks to suit our tastes and took time to explain how they were made. When our mains came out, the first thing to notice was the care taken for the presentation - they looked great. My risotto was rich and delicious, with the rice done perfectly. How good was it? Others at the table ordered one to share after their meal hahahaha. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I would have to say everything was perfect at this point. The dessert choices were not quite what we were expecting. The chocolate chip cookie was a bit hard (almost like biscotti). The peanut butter cookie was good. I did order one of their main dessert selections - the Rhubarb Mousse. It was definitely something different - just not quite what I was expecting. Overall, this evening out was a great meal. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and service were great. Thanks for a great meal.
Troy C — Google review
I visited this restaurant for lunch after reading several positive reviews, and I have to admit, the ambiance did make a good first impression. The interior is nicely decorated, with comfortable seating that creates a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the reputation. I ordered the rabbit leg, which was completely lacking in seasoning and felt bland overall. The portion size was quite small compared to the price, making it feel overpriced for what was offered. The coffee I had afterward was also disappointing… Just average at best. On top of that, the staff didn’t come across as friendly or welcoming, which added to the underwhelming experience. Overall, I left surprised at how different my visit was compared to the glowing reviews I’d read beforehand. The ambiance is lovely, but the food and service definitely didn’t match the hype.
Berkay K — Google review
Exceptional breakfast buffet with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food selection was unique, high-quality, and beautifully presented. A perfect mix of classic and creative options. Highly recommend!
Lisa M — Google review
Small place with inside/outside seating (outside seating consists of 3 tables). It has low-lighting and cozy chairs creating an intimate atmosphere. There was only one waitress and she was hustling the entire time attending to every table. She was very polite, warm and accommodating. Having said this, I was felt rushed - not because she was busy - but because that is the vibe here. As for the food, I was not impressed. The edamame barely had any salt so I was essentially eating plain steamed edamame - no flavor just texture. The tuna tartare was unimpressive. The sweet potato puree was cold tasteless as was the tuna as it was thickly sliced and therefore the center was refrigerator-cold atop the cold puree and pesto. The highlight of this place for me was the relaxed vibe and cozy space. I would not recommend.

Brunch restaurant
Innocent Cafe, located in Riga, is a popular spot known for its diverse breakfast options, delectable desserts, and a wide range of coffee drinks. The cafe has also gained fame for its pizza offerings topped with LifeTree vegan cheeses from Latvia. As one of the first establishments in Riga to introduce brunch, it has become a go-to destination for delicious and healthy mid-morning meals.
Great breakfast cafe, ordered american pancakes and my husband ordered fried eggs and bacon and both were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I recommend u give it a try. If u like strong coffee I ordered a flat white and it didn’t disappoint. Orange juice is freshly squeezed.

Cozy Breakfast Spot with Room to Improve A lovely place for breakfast with friendly service. The Francis omelet and avocado toast with mozzarella were delicious, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients. The American pancakes, although visually appealing, were very tough—so firm it was hard to cut them with a knife. Still, a nice spot overall, but the kitchen has some room to improve. 🍳🥑🥞
Marius S — Google review
So far the best place in Riga's centre to have coffee (and work in my case)! Very nice and attentive staff, cozy atmosphere, soft music, and good coffee. Nice place for breakfast or lunch, as here you can find much bigger variety than in a usual coffee shop. Highly recommended!

Superb spot for a late brunch. The avocado toast with poached egg and salmon was delicious! Great Matcha latte also. Definitely recommend!

LP (8/7): The food was delicious and the staff service were excellent. I would like to recommend this café. Great location and walkable.
Dalton C — Google review
This place serves the best coffee I have had in Riga (so far, at least). The menu is accessed via QR code, which seems to be quite common here, but I expect there are other ways to order if you don't have a smartphone. The food was good (although there were no potatoes, and I love potatoes), and the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.
Phil H — Google review
Innocent Café was a decent stop for breakfast in Riga. The food leans more towards an American-style breakfast, and while nothing too unique, both the dishes and the coffee were tasty.

Although coffee is a bit expensive, 1€ extra for alternative milk this place is a gem. Waitresses are really friendly and food is awesome. I had a tunna sandwich for breakfast and then the daily menu which is only 7.99€ . Highly recommendable.

Mr. Bunny Kitchen is a fun and whimsical restaurant where every dish is inspired by the beloved rabbit character from children's stories. The menu features bunny-themed dishes such as cereal, pasta, and even ice cream, all of which are sure to bring a smile to any child's face. The friendly staff is always ready to help with anything, and the restaurant itself is decorated in cheerful colors and patterns that will make you feel right at home.
Great place with really tasty vegan options! The curry and the vegan and glutenfree snicker cake are both so delicious! Also not that expensive! Really recommend! :)
Franziska S — Google review
Perfect place for parents with young kids. That was a surprise when I came here (my bad not checking the reviews) but I was surprised that so many kids are running around here. This is an amazing place for parents who want to have a tasty food while kids are doing something else. The food was really good and tasty. Nothing particularly special, just a good food. Quite a big range of foods to choose from. Good location, near Gallery Riga and center. Service was.nice.and polite. They accept reservations and on busy times I'd recommend to have one. They have two menus - one for breakfast and one for lunch. We were just in time for breakfast menu. For me this was kinda ok experience (nothing great) as I waited for tranquil lunch (but as I said my bad for not checking out the place beforehand). Staff was polite and friendly. I'll come back once I'll have kids for sure.
Gundars M — Google review
Might be a good stop for parents as the place has a lot for kids. Unfortunately we visited when cool was way so only boxed salads, quiches or soup. Disappointing for kids expecting more choices including pasta meal - might have to give it a chance again. Decently priced meals. Coffee available.
Allanah — Google review
Awesome rich breakfast plate. Just a minor issue with salmon not cut from its skin and bread should be rye bread instead of white toast bread. Staff was so kind. Matcha was also great.

super cozy place, especially if you are coming with kids! everyhting is kids friendly. for breakfast time I suggest reserving a table beforehand. super tasty! there are also tables where you can work on pc
Anna S — Google review
I liked the place: stuff and atmosphere is very friendly, good location. But I can’t say that the food was fantastic, it was good but not amazing 🥲.
Alfiya K — Google review
I really loved this place! Such a great getaway spot for parents, and I love that someone in the food industry actually takes kids’ needs into account. Beautifully designed, nice toys, great location, and good food!
Monika A — Google review
An absolute gem! The place is catering for the needs of both parents and kids. There is a playroom; bathroom facilities are equipped for small customers; they even offer bibs for kids - very thoughtful. I liked every bit - customer service, food, design and the choice of music played - nice and relaxing. My only constructive feedback point is - cutlery - the knife was blunt and the fork/knife handles are so thin - it literally hurt my fingers to use them.

Nestled in the heart of Riga, Katkevich is a charming café that truly embodies the essence of artisanal dining. With its exposed brick walls and warm wooden accents, this cozy spot invites you to indulge in a delightful Sunday brunch experience. While many flock to their beloved sourdough offerings, Katkevich stands out for its inviting atmosphere and mouthwatering menu.
An authentic place that has thought well about its atmosphere. Here the village and the aristocracy seem to have merged into one mood. Scrambled egg on sweet and sour bread with mushrooms, perfect for salad with avocado and prosciutto. The menu in this place is not large, but it is worked out to the smallest detail. The interior fits perfectly with the idea of the place. The staff works quickly and efficiently. I advise you to reserve a table in advance. Although it is cozy here, there is not a lot of space
Artjoms A — Google review
Lovely cafe, 100% recommend. We came here straight from the airport, its about a 5 min walk from the last stop on the #22 bus (a great way to get to the city, approx 25mins and €1.50). Staff were fab, food was brilliant. Sourdough is freshly baked on site each day. Definitely recommend the open sandwiches
Emily D — Google review
What a little gem for the fans of breakfast. We had farmer’s breakfast with extra eggs and extra bacon and it was excellent! ( and huge but we couldn’t stop eating). They only serve breakfast but donut all day ( till 16:00). Only a few tables inside. Sourdough open sandwiches with variety of toppings also looked very good ( the table next to us ordered), so we would love to come back for another perfect breakfast for those who like large hearty breakfast
Maria V — Google review
Don't miss while in Riga! Highly reccomended, *Delicious* food- wonderfull sourdough sandwiches and excellent service. Cute spot to have a laidback brunch at.
Ksenia B — Google review
Homy and small little breakfast place specializing in breakfast dishes with homemade bread. Interior is cute and cozy, however location is not the best since it’s on a very busy, polluted, and loud street. Reservations are recommended on the weekends since it has very limited interior seating. Food was delicious, portion was big, however nothing extraordinary. Service was great 👍
Marta L — Google review
Just delicious! Loved both the goats cheese and the smoked mackerel toasted open sandwiches. The coffee is also excellent.
Nick G — Google review
Excellent place where to eat breakfast or small lunch! Very tasty sandwiches, super tasty coffee! Some choice of desserts!
Kārlis M — Google review
Great place! Amazing service, 10/10! The butter was wonderful and so was the toast with goat cheese. Great menu, easy to understand, very nice selection of options and many modifications can be made. The only thing we didn’t like was how close the tables were to each other, but otherwise the interior was very nice and homey. I’d recommend calling beforehand and maybe making a reservation, considering the size of the place. Thank you!

Mulberry Bakery in Riga is a charming spot to enjoy a delightful breakfast or indulge in exceptional pastries. The bakery offers a cozy and tasteful interior, making it an inviting place to savor some delicious treats. While the prices may not be the most budget-friendly, the quality of their pastries is truly remarkable. Visitors rave about the pistachio dessert, describing it as divine and a must-try. The staff are friendly and accommodating, providing excellent service even during busy times.
Best scrambled eggs you will find in Riga! Tasty, filling, and simply so satisfying. Quick service with decent staff. Coffee also very delicious. Prices are on the higher side but worth it in my opinion. Good amount of seating both inside and outside. Looking forward to trying other options from their breakfast menu!
Marta L — Google review
A few years ago it was a great place, I don’t know what happened, but it’s not the same anymore… The service is absolutely useless: the waitress took a very long time to bring the menu and didn’t take the order for a long time. Waiting for the food was also veeery long. The portions have become smaller and the prices higher. The appearance of the food doesn’t look very presentable. I was shocked to see a dirty sink and a dirty floor in a place like this. They present themselves as a fancy bakery/cafe, but in reality they’re lacking aesthetics, good quality and politeness.
Anastasia C — Google review
We used to visit Mulberry on Ausekļa street quite often, but unfortunately, the atmosphere there has noticeably deteriorated lately. One particularly unpleasant experience involved a person who appeared to be either the administrator or the manager - it doesn’t really matter who exactly. Swearing at staff members in front of guests is completely unacceptable. Such behavior shows a clear lack of respect for both the employees and the customers. I genuinely feel sorry for the staff who have to work in such conditions. The service has definitely declined, but given the management style, it’s not surprising. The food is tasty, but nothing exceptional. Prices are reasonable for the quiet center. The final straw was a situation where, due to a large number of guests, one of the female guests accidentally bumped into a table, and a vase broke. The manager’s reaction - shouting across the entire restaurant - came off as completely unprofessional and humiliating.
Glazer H — Google review
We visited Mulberry on Sunday and enjoyed coffee and dessert. However, I was surprised that when I asked for a glass of water, I was told this is not provided. In many places, serving water with coffee and sweets is seen as a small but important gesture of care and hospitality. Even a simple glass of tap water, especially when a guest asks for it, makes the experience feel more welcoming. It would be wonderful if Mulberry could consider this, as it really adds to the comfort of your guests and leaves a warmer impression.
Tatjana K — Google review
Nice cafe. Wifi available. Extremely overpriced… probably could find someplace better in Riga than this. Service was okay. Coffee was not good but the cake was a hit better. They are beautifully made, but just too expensive (6€+ for a small cake??).
Kat — Google review
The sourdough bread, croissants, and pastries are good. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. You can stand at the counter for five minutes hoping someone will notice you, while several staff members are busy doing something else. And it's happening almost every time. Great bakery, but the service really ruins the experience.
Artis B — Google review
Quality of service has dramatically dropped to the level when you have to choose another venue and just skip Mulberry at any cost. Owners - you got to make people you have newly employed actually notice customers and move around, not just stand. This is a disaster... Food is great though. But there are plenty other options around.
Jevgenijs T — Google review
Tried something new today. A burnt pistachio eclair with a poor quality of chunky cream, is not what I expected. The regular buns are still good

Mr. Fox is a trendy cafe located in the heart of the Art Nouveau district, offering a range of delicious and healthy breakfast and lunch options. The menu features vegan pancakes, smoothie bowls, oatmeal made with various milk options, shakshouka, frittata, buddha bowls, peanut stir fry, rainbow noodles and more. The cafe emphasizes whole grains and organic produce in its salads and Buddha bowls while also providing customizable dishes to suit individual tastes.
Good food quality with plenty of healthy options. If you want to avoid sugar or sauces, you can always ask for them to be left out. There’s also the option to build your own plate by choosing the ingredients. The breakfasts are really good—King’s waffles and the toast with mushrooms and hummus are definitely worth trying. I’d say this is very balanced, feel-good food you will enjoy. Ah, I forgot about the best sweet potato fries in the city 🍟
Anastasia T — Google review
Vegan desserts need some improvement, especially when they’re not cheap. I tried the raw cake and chia pudding and both were disappointing. The cake was way too sweet. The pudding lacked nice flavors and just tasted overwhelmingly of coconut. The place itself is very cozy and staff was friendly and pleasant.
Tamara — Google review
Nice place!! I would recommend to reserve a table beforehand as it was quite popular around noon. The food was really delicious with several options. Four stars because the black coffee was really small and expensive.
Annika S — Google review
I recently visited a charming breakfast spot in Riga that caught my eye with its cozy ambiance and delightful decor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but there's always room for a little fine-tuning. First off, the shakshuka – the presentation was on point, but the flavors left something to be desired. It felt like the spices took a vacation and forgot to come back. A little more seasoning would definitely give it the kick it needs to stand out. The coffee, while artfully presented, was a bit too acidic for my taste. Maybe it was just having a bad day, but a smoother blend would really complement the breakfast offerings better. One thing to note is the wait time. If you're planning a visit, bring along a good book or a chatty friend, because you'll have some time to kill before your food arrives. Patience is a virtue, right? All in all, it’s a lovely place with a great vibe, and despite the minor hiccups, it has a lot of potential. A few tweaks here and there, and it could easily become my go-to breakfast spot in Riga. Keep an eye on this place – it's definitely on the rise!
Bartlomiej M — Google review
This is a great little gem in the heart of Riga. From all the brunch places we tried during our 4 day stay, this would definitely be one of the highlights. Healthy, delicious food that tastes fresh. There's something to be appreciated in the simplicity of the menu and the dishes - good, clean food. I had the bacon bowl and my wife had the hummus - both excellent choices. In fact, we liked it so much that we'll go tomorrow again. Also, the coffee was great.
Triboi D — Google review
Good food, fresh and tasty, forgot to take pictures of everything but it looks and tastes good. When crowded not the best option if you’re hungry and it can be crowded as the place is quite small.
Nikolajs N — Google review
I’ve tried shakshuka in many places around the city, but MR Fox truly makes the best one. The flavors are rich and balanced, the eggs cooked just right, and the fresh herbs bring it all together. It felt simple, honest, and absolutely delicious — the kind of dish that makes you want to come back.

The bakery specializes in sourdough bread, offering variations with ham or vegetarian options, as well as savory or sweet porridge and buns.
Loved this place that I visited a few times during my trip. Pistachio croissant is a top fav (more on the sweet side, similar to an almond croissant) followed by the cardamon bun. Didn’t try the savoury side but I’m sure it’s lovely too. Highly recommend.
Dontwaitdate — Google review
This place has an amazing atmosphere, with a beautiful interior and a warm, cozy vibe. I especially appreciated the indie pop/rock music playing in the background, it created a relaxed and enjoyable mood as I had my late breakfast and flat white. One of the highlights was the open workspace, where you can watch the staff baking fresh pastries and bread. It added a nice, authentic touch to the experience. The coffee was of good quality, though the cup was a bit on the small side. The food was delicious, I particularly loved the salted pastry with tomato and mozzarella, which was both flavorful and satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our coffees arrived very quickly, which we appreciated. We paid 24 euros for three pastries and two flat whites. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but considering the quality, atmosphere, and service, it felt well worth it. A very enjoyable experience overall.
ZinhoDK — Google review
Most of pastries in this bakery are sweet, so if you want a savoury one, I would not recommend. At my first visit I got poppy seed croissant roll. It was pretty good but kinda boring. There were not much poppy seeds in the pastry. 7/10. The second time I was there I got pistachio croissant. It was very sweet. The filling was upsetting - it was not creamy, more like homemade icing (I could feel sugar crystals). So, if you are not into really sweet things, I wouldn’t recommend. 6/10. Service and atmosphere is excellent. Pretty busy both times I was here, but that’s not a problem for me.
Alise K — Google review
Very nice, clean, and modern bakery with high-quality baked goods and drinks. The price is perhaps on the slightly high-end, but it is worth it for the quality that you get. There are also separate male/female toilets available at the cafe.

Great coffee and pastries! Was recommended to me by a Latvian friend and I'm only sad I did not go sooner. Staff was really nice. Had a coffee & pastry at the shop. Then loved it so much I got a second coffee to go plus a sandwich and another pastry to eat later.

I had mixed experiences. While the Eggs Benedict I ordered was perfect, the service was not much. It took quite a while to get the attention of the waitress to place my order, and I had to seek them again for the bill. Additionally, I requested a boiled egg but received something different instead. The cottage cheese pancake was just average. I also want to add the quantity of the food compared to the price is over priced.

Lovely atmosphere, tasty food, friendly staff, and an added bonus — an unexpected outside terrace (accessed through the café), where street sounds are barely audible. It was a nice experience. I’d definitely recommend it. Additional bonus for my dog receiving water without asking, thank you! :)

While traveling through the Baltic Countries we started to notice behaviour and approach of service staff towards clients. In a book called “de Nomade” by Anja Niewierra we read of the homo sovieticus, lion set free but so condtioned by living in cages that trapped outside in a mental cage. The same we feel with service. The approach is so strange. No greetings, no welcoming words, just ignoring the client and even avoid eye contact. Conversation is kept to bare minimum. It will take generations to lose this no service approach. Let’s hope it will come, this kind of good food needs better and friendlier interaction by staff. Coffee was surprisingly old fashioned with a good amount of robusta, so high on bitterness and low in acid ity. Strange strange looking at the winelist and the password for the Wifi : Naturalwine

"Amber" is a stylish and contemporary restaurant situated in the heart of the historic city center within Kempinski Hotel. The restaurant boasts an open kitchen where guests can enjoy a fusion of modern Latvian and international cuisine, with a focus on local flavors. The menu offers diverse dining options throughout the day, providing a relaxed dining experience. Additionally, visitors to Amber Spa Hotel can treat themselves to luxurious spa treatments or take leisurely strolls through picturesque pine forests in Dzintari.
Came for restaurants week menu; the four dishes we were served were really great and the white-glove table service was professional, attentive and friendly - taking care to explain what was being plated for us. The restaurant itself was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening, but the atmosphere was pleasant. The Kempinski hotel is very well equipped and sets an imposing entrance to the restaurant. The wine list is definitely on the pricey side but the selection is good - we chose some of the cheaper wines by the glass and were surprised how good the “cheap” stuff was ☺️ usually the lowest cost wines end up being plonk but this was definitely not the case with the 8 year old Armenian wine! We were very happy with our meal and will return to take a look at the regular menu in the future. Definitely a recommend from us! 👏🏻

Shocking service Dismissive and lazy waiters who were only attentive to a table full of dressed up females. Found the initial attentiveness positive however this changed. We had unlimited Prosecco but this was never topped up and the male waiters were more concerned with flirting with another table and constantly filling their drinks and no one else. Waiters asked several times if they could fill drinks and eventually they half filled glasses where again the table of females managed to get full glasses. Without asking. Will never recommend this place as it was terrible. Waiters also asked for coffee and half the orders missed. They were then rude or dismissive. Bill then arrived where they overcharged on some items. Shocking attitude and behaviour

We attended the pre Christmas brunch The service was terrible, food was good, atmosphere was ok. The service was appalling for this kind of place, the waiters were not attentive and there were not enough of them. We had to constantly ask to top up the glasses, meanwhile they would always top up table next to us. Waiters would not take the dirty plates fast enough, coffees were arriving slow and then they would forget to bring one coffee and would take ages. One waiter would forget something and then we would ask another waiter again. The quality of coffee was very bad, like water. The prosecco that was included in the brunch was not always the same and we would be topped up with different one, which is just not what you expect in a restaurant of this level. In the end we were overcharged on the bill. The drink some of us ordered was 12 euros on the menu, but they tried to charge 18. After confronting them they said it was an old menu and price is now higher. We refused to pay the difference. Another negative is that the staff only spoke english, which is unusual and annoying for locals that do not speak English. The pianist was playing nice music, so one of not many positives. The restaurant is trying to be classy and posh, but under delivers

Don’t even think about going there for a meal. Didn’t live up to the reputation of the hotel at all. The place was empty on a Friday night when we went there around 10pm and we had to walk around to find someone to get a table. Our waiter didn’t even have a smile on him and didn’t bother to even introduce the menu. He made us feel like we were a burden to them and I almost wanted to walk out but my parter wanted to try their food. And the food was NOT good at all. I had the scallops and prawns pasta which was very ordinary and the Duck my partner had was quite bland and boring. The chocolate cake desert was so dry and hard and had no character at all. The cream buley was served with fruits and a sorbet and it was such an unmatched confusion! The actual cream buley portion was so little and I was very upset. Kempinski needs to get the act together and hire a good chef with a creative mind and may be train their staff not only in service but social skills !

There was no Earl Gray cube, but a brioche bun, two fried cubes, champagne foam, yuzu cream and a couple of dried fruits. The bun was no good, the yuzu cream made my face hurt, it was so sour! Do they even taste it before serving it???!!! 3 out of 10 30€ Expensive, not tasty and nothing at all! And this is Kempinski?! After the first bad experience, The restaurant really values its customers, and gave them a compliment by inviting them to lunch at the restaurant’s expense. Art center Zuzeum, founded by collectors Dina and Janis Zuzans, is a private museum showcasing a renowned collection of over 5000 Latvian Modern and contemporary art pieces. Housed in a former factory southeast of the Old town, the center is undergoing development to become a vast art complex. The expansion includes a new contemporary building adjacent to the 1910 factory and a sculpture park for visitors.
Sublime little museum of modern art. Was exposed to Eastern European artists from the 70s, that were incredible! The bar and museum bookshop were equally exquisite.

The best museum in Latvia 🇱🇻 I ever visited I would like to share here and also a leading museum internationally. The location is absolutely great, the spaces where art objects are shown are wonderful containing space & perfect light and this museum happens to be the only museum which is professionally dedicated to exclusive contemporary art in Latvia. To visit the Zuzeum in Riga will be the best choice concerning contemporary art in any case. I also added a couple of fotos of the Erwin Wurm exhibition. I couldn’t believe what I saw at this exhibition and art fans know that this is the first solo show exhibited outside of Wurms home country in Austria, Vienna just maybe a year ago. It is incredible what has been achieved in this outstanding space of art in the Zuzeum Museum Riga. Thanks again to anybody involved in this exhibition and to the staff in general for the constant effort in showing contemporary art in the most beautiful way possible.

Visit if you can! I love this place! It always has the best exhibitions. Do NOT miss the current one - "How it is" by Erwin Wurm. This one is interactive, so you can (and are encouraged to) actually touch and climb some of the exhibits. Make sure to read the signs to know which ones you can touch! Oh, and the cafe and gift shop are stunning as well. There is a rooftop terrace too.

This is a fantastic place for contemporary art lovers. The exhibitions are diverse, thought-provoking, and well-curated, with both local and international artists represented. The building itself is interesting and spacious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Some exhibits could use more context or explanations for visitors unfamiliar with modern art, but overall it’s an inspiring and enjoyable visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Riga’s art scene!

I saw the Erwin Wurm exhibition, it was fun and I loved how the artworks invited the viewer to interact with them (pro tip if you want to get drunk for the price of an entrance ticket: there's a piece which literally tells you to get drunk and offers the alcohol 🤣). Stockpot is a beloved dining spot in Riga that has expanded to multiple locations since its launch in 2012. The concept revolves around offering quick and easy-to-prepare dishes from various regions including the Middle East, Indochina, Caucasus, and the Mediterranean. The menu features a rotating selection of soups, stews, and curries with options ranging from mild to intensely spicy. Vegetarian and vegan choices are regularly available as well.
Great place for a quick business lunch! Mostly Asian meals with chicken are available. Spicy lovers will find plenty of options, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free dishes.
Dmitry B — Google review
Asian cuisine is not the only option here, but it’s definitely a highlight and a great choice for lunch. The place gets quite popular during lunchtime, often drawing a crowd—sometimes it’s even hard to find a seat. There’s always at least one dish with meat or fish available every day. There are also vegetarian and vegan options. Most of the menu leans toward Asian flavors, offering both unique and familiar dishes of good quality. Since it's focused on lunchtime, it’s not really a dinner spot.
Tatjana — Google review
StockPot is such a great find in Riga! Their Asian fish soup was bursting with flavor and so comforting, and the West African chicken curry was absolutely delicious—rich, hearty, and perfectly spiced. You can really taste the love and creativity that goes into their dishes. A cozy spot with bold, international flavors—I’d definitely recommend it!

If we lived in Riga, we would eat here every day! We had the Thai curry (excellent with the just the right amount of heat) and the hummus and tabbouleh meals (maybe the tabbouleh could have used a bit more lemon). It was a light lunch for us and just perfect before we hit the road. Easy to walk to from Old Town.

For those seeking traditional Latvian fare, '1221' is a must-visit, showcasing dishes such as beaver, elk, and venison. Guests can also indulge in delectable desserts on the summer terrace.
Service was exceptional! We have a very limited diet for the entire week, so we can’t eat much. The server was very kind and offered other options, that weren’t on the main menu. Our friends had normal options, they like it as well. Food was good, atmosphere is very romantic. The place itself is not big, which is perfect for a date, or a quiet dinner/lunch with your friend or a partner.

This is such a beautiful, little restaurant especially when you’re surrounded by loud, touristy places. The food was fantastic, really fresh and the wait staff were super friendly and chatty and you could tell they liked their job. The downstairs outside seating area is tiny and it’s next to a hookah bar but they do have a roof terrace. It was closed because of a storm but I imagine it would be lovely up there.

One of Riga’s true gems ⭐️ Chambao has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in the city. And what’s also important - staff is always so friendly and nice!

We went with friends for lunch, while making a reservation the waitress mentioned that they only were working until four, unfortunately she did forget to mention that they were only serving breakfast that day. Because of that even tho the food was good, it wasn’t what we had in mind when we made the reservation. The food was good ( we had the ranchero, guacamole roster with salmon and taste with strachatela ). I should also recommend the churros, they are served with homemade caramel and chocolate sauce.

Čili Pica is a popular spot known for its good location and food. While some visitors feel that the service could be more friendly, others have had positive experiences with quick and pleasant service. The restaurant offers a nice atmosphere for enjoying delicious food, making it a great choice for pizza time with family. One visitor particularly enjoyed the smoked cod dish, which was well-received by their Polish fiancé.
Lunch is worth taking(price, quality), only waiting certain time but taste defends by itself.

Took 1 hour amd 30 mins for the food to arrive, children were crying out laud due to hunger. This might have been even longer if I hadn't spoken with one of the attendants, who not only made sure food was ready within 5mins but also given us a discount of 20%. Honestly speaking I have visited several countries, never took so long. Newrly a terrible service for average food.

Good food and excellent service. Big thank you to Ksenija she served us very quickly with smile and good attitude.

Nothing wrong with this place. Pizzas were not that pricy but also not that tasteful.
Samir D — Google review
My recent experience was quite disappointing. The service, though slow, eventually acknowledged my presence and seated me. However, the overall pace of service was lacking in efficiency and urgency, which affected the enjoyment of the meal. Unfortunately, the issues extended to the quality of the food as well. When the dishes finally arrived, they were served cold, which was a major letdown. The lack of attention to detail and proper temperature control was evident and detracted from the dining experience. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant left much to be desired. The atmosphere lacked warmth and charm, and the noise level was quite high, making it difficult to have a comfortable conversation or relax during the meal. While I understand that occasional mishaps can happen, the consistent issues I encountered throughout my visit were disappointing. I hope that chili takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to enhance the overall dining experience. At this time, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others, as the issues with service and food quality impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Laiva is a charming spot with delicious food, a nice selection of wine, and genuinely friendly service. The cozy, thoughtfully designed interior makes it a great place to unwind in Pāvilosta.
Kintija Ķ — Google review
Food for the price is not acceptable. Toast was wet from fats, wasn't golden, just white soaked bread, with black spots, seemed like from dirty stove and not burns. Cottage pancakes was undercooked. Wet mass of cottage cheese, definitely not pancakes. Do not recommend.
Justinas — Google review
The food was very good but we had to wait 1 hour just for a salad that usually takes 15 minutes to make. We came here together and in other restaurants the food comes together but one persons food came faster then the others and we had to wait 20 min just for the other dish.
Vitalija K — Google review
Charming little café. More than an hour’s wait to be served with no information from the waitresses. After following up twice, we were finally served. As for the food, the burrata salad was overpriced (€13) for what it was (bagged salad, one tomato, a small burrata) and 6€ for a kombuacha ?! The toast was fine but nothing special.

Perfect place to stop the night when traveling the TET. The food was great, the owners friendly (even though we turned up on motorcycles and very covered in dust) and the rooms were just what we needed. Many thanks for the hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again.

Was cheated in this restaurant, all in all paid 59 euros literally for one person meal, and it was definitely not worth it... of course didn't leave the tips, the waiters looks like always ignored the signs even raised hands. The check with wrong amount was frustrating, didn't want to stay longer to argue. Do not recommend those , there are a lot different places in Pavilosta!!!

Got two salads, very small portions for the price - one for 10 euro and the other 12 Euros, left still feeling hungry, not good value. Great coffee though!
Ryan — Google review
Delicious food, good choice for vegetarians, a playground for children. We repeated one order because it was good. Yet way too expensive for semi-self-service and portions close to the nouvelle-cuisine style. One hardly expects these prices in a place where you have to order your food at the till and where so many things from the menu (that is dirty and sprinkled with ketchup) are not available.
Anna S — Google review
Good food and beverage selection. Caesar salad delicious. Lots of playground area perfect for kids. Parents can have a peaceful lunch. Right next to the beach. Also has a brand new hotel although it was full and could not try.

(Translated by Google) We ordered tom yam and chicken in sweet and sour sauce. This is simply the worst soup I have ever eaten, one broth (the broth is delicious), the chicken was not done correctly and was almost tasteless, rice does not go with the soup. I wouldn't order anything there for the second time. I think the price is not justified, there are many places nearby where you can eat better for the same money (Original)

The menu doesn't stop there; it also features an array of sweet treats crafted from natural ingredients, alongside refreshing draft kvass and Uzava beer to quench your thirst.
We are locals and this is our new favorite restaurant! Mainly because everything we have tried there so far was amazingly tasty. A bit nostalgic with some very tasty Lithuanian dishes. This will be our to go spot now :)

A great café to enjoy Lithuanian specialty - cepelinai at 5 EUR per a pair of them. Inexpensive and tasty. Also other dishes are great and rich. You should think twice about ordering a soup and the main course, because the servings are really big. They also serve great national cuisine desserts. The place is popular among locals, which is always a positive sign.

(Translated by Google) Portions are large and the food is tasty at reasonable prices. The whole family really liked the homemade french fries. The meat is also delicious. The only downside was that it was quite hot to sit inside, but that was our choice.

(Translated by Google) We were today 03.05. 2025 in the cafe, unfortunately we were disappointed. 1 The saleswoman sat on her phone for a long time (we don't notice her behind the counter at first), until one of the employees saw us and then called her. 2 There was a lot of choice on the menu, but what we really wanted was not there. I told the seller to cross it out so as not to mislead people. She looked at me angrily and did not answer. Then we took 3 portions of meatballs with side dishes to take away. At home, I concluded that the meatballs look more like thin chops, I tasted it as if not, the ground meat is inside. I just don't understand, I've never seen such meatballs before. When I ate the meatballs, I pulled out a single hair. Do the staff wear hats? 3. It was written in the check that we paid just for confectionery. Yes, I took one sweet to go. But I don't understand why the check doesn't include the other dishes? We used to visit your cafe quite often, we had no complaints. But after today's visit, unfortunately, we don't want to go anymore. (Original) Bijām šodien 03.05. 2025.g kafeinicā, diemžēl bijām vīlušies. 1 Pārdevēja sēdēja ilgi savā telefonā(mēs viņu sākumā nepamanijam aiz letes),kamēr viena no darbinieka mūs ieraudzīja un tad viņu pasauc. 2 Ēdienkartē bija daudz izvēles, bet īstenībā ko gribējām ņemt, nebija. Pateicu pārdevējai lai tad izsvītro, lai nemaldinat cilvēkus.Viņa dusmīgi paskatījās uz manis neko neatbildēja. Paņēmam tad līdzņemšanai 3 porcijas kotletes ar piedevām. Mājās secināju ka kotletes drīzāk izskatās ka karbonādes plānas, pagaršoju it kā nē, malta gaļa ir iekšā. Tikai nesaprotu, tādas kotletes vēl neredzēju. Kotletes kad ēdu izvilku ne vienu matu. Vai personāls strādā ar cepurītem? 3.
