The food here is delicious, the menu is pretty small and there is not much choice but what they do have is very nice. The waiter was rushing us with everything despite the restaurants being almost empty. What i enjoyed most is the atmosphere - it is a very cozy vibe and has a very aesthetic interior which is perfect to have good conversations.

As we got the menus I was delighted by the rich selection of food. The only problem was that the waiter kept bugging us and coming every other minute asking if we are ready to order again and again. We felt really rushed, this was a pattern throughout our experience, the waiter was very pushy. The food was absolutely amazing, although I don't recommend this for picky eaters the foods all have very very rich and flavourful tastes. A culinary experience but I can't say I'm eager to come back. Overall I would definitely recommend. :)

Fortuidously stumbled across this place while searching for "restaurants near me", what a divine inspiration it was. The food was incredible. Casper is a lovely human being and fabulous waiter. He provided recommendations and took very good care of us. Most respect to the Chef, you could tell from his food that he is passionate about what he does. We had the Burrata, the Civiche, the Pasta a Potato Pancake and the Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil marinated Rhubarb. Wow! We'll definitely be back. Delightful service, exquisite food, cozy atmosphere. 💗🍴🙌🏼

Our small group went here for supper the other evening. We visited this restaurant quite some time ago and looked forward to our return. We were greeted kindly by staff and seated near the bar - comfy seats. The waiter took our drink and starters order and had them to our table very quickly. Both the antipasti plate and buratta were very good. We ordered our mains and enjoyed a few drinks while waiting. The waiter (also our bartender) was very friendly. He was suggesting drinks to suit our tastes and took time to explain how they were made. When our mains came out, the first thing to notice was the care taken for the presentation - they looked great. My risotto was rich and delicious, with the rice done perfectly. How good was it? Others at the table ordered one to share after their meal hahahaha. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I would have to say everything was perfect at this point. The dessert choices were not quite what we were expecting. The chocolate chip cookie was a bit hard (almost like biscotti). The peanut butter cookie was good. I did order one of their main dessert selections - the Rhubarb Mousse. It was definitely something different - just not quite what I was expecting. Overall, this evening out was a great meal. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and service were great. Thanks for a great meal.

I visited this restaurant for lunch after reading several positive reviews, and I have to admit, the ambiance did make a good first impression. The interior is nicely decorated, with comfortable seating that creates a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the reputation. I ordered the rabbit leg, which was completely lacking in seasoning and felt bland overall. The portion size was quite small compared to the price, making it feel overpriced for what was offered. The coffee I had afterward was also disappointing… Just average at best. On top of that, the staff didn’t come across as friendly or welcoming, which added to the underwhelming experience. Overall, I left surprised at how different my visit was compared to the glowing reviews I’d read beforehand. The ambiance is lovely, but the food and service definitely didn’t match the hype.

Small place with inside/outside seating (outside seating consists of 3 tables). It has low-lighting and cozy chairs creating an intimate atmosphere. There was only one waitress and she was hustling the entire time attending to every table. She was very polite, warm and accommodating. Having said this, I was felt rushed - not because she was busy - but because that is the vibe here. As for the food, I was not impressed. The edamame barely had any salt so I was essentially eating plain steamed edamame - no flavor just texture. The tuna tartare was unimpressive. The sweet potato puree was cold tasteless as was the tuna as it was thickly sliced and therefore the center was refrigerator-cold atop the cold puree and pesto. The highlight of this place for me was the relaxed vibe and cozy space. I would not recommend.

Cozy Breakfast Spot with Room to Improve A lovely place for breakfast with friendly service. The Francis omelet and avocado toast with mozzarella were delicious, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients. The American pancakes, although visually appealing, were very tough—so firm it was hard to cut them with a knife. Still, a nice spot overall, but the kitchen has some room to improve. 🍳🥑🥞

So far the best place in Riga's centre to have coffee (and work in my case)! Very nice and attentive staff, cozy atmosphere, soft music, and good coffee. Nice place for breakfast or lunch, as here you can find much bigger variety than in a usual coffee shop. Highly recommended!

This place serves the best coffee I have had in Riga (so far, at least). The menu is accessed via QR code, which seems to be quite common here, but I expect there are other ways to order if you don't have a smartphone. The food was good (although there were no potatoes, and I love potatoes), and the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.

Innocent Café was a decent stop for breakfast in Riga. The food leans more towards an American-style breakfast, and while nothing too unique, both the dishes and the coffee were tasty.

Although coffee is a bit expensive, 1€ extra for alternative milk this place is a gem. Waitresses are really friendly and food is awesome. I had a tunna sandwich for breakfast and then the daily menu which is only 7.99€ . Highly recommendable.

Perfect place for parents with young kids. That was a surprise when I came here (my bad not checking the reviews) but I was surprised that so many kids are running around here. This is an amazing place for parents who want to have a tasty food while kids are doing something else. The food was really good and tasty. Nothing particularly special, just a good food. Quite a big range of foods to choose from. Good location, near Gallery Riga and center. Service was.nice.and polite. They accept reservations and on busy times I'd recommend to have one. They have two menus - one for breakfast and one for lunch. We were just in time for breakfast menu. For me this was kinda ok experience (nothing great) as I waited for tranquil lunch (but as I said my bad for not checking out the place beforehand). Staff was polite and friendly. I'll come back once I'll have kids for sure.

Awesome rich breakfast plate. Just a minor issue with salmon not cut from its skin and bread should be rye bread instead of white toast bread. Staff was so kind. Matcha was also great.

I really loved this place! Such a great getaway spot for parents, and I love that someone in the food industry actually takes kids’ needs into account. Beautifully designed, nice toys, great location, and good food!

An absolute gem! The place is catering for the needs of both parents and kids. There is a playroom; bathroom facilities are equipped for small customers; they even offer bibs for kids - very thoughtful. I liked every bit - customer service, food, design and the choice of music played - nice and relaxing. My only constructive feedback point is - cutlery - the knife was blunt and the fork/knife handles are so thin - it literally hurt my fingers to use them.

Lovely cafe, 100% recommend. We came here straight from the airport, its about a 5 min walk from the last stop on the #22 bus (a great way to get to the city, approx 25mins and €1.50). Staff were fab, food was brilliant. Sourdough is freshly baked on site each day. Definitely recommend the open sandwiches

What a little gem for the fans of breakfast. We had farmer’s breakfast with extra eggs and extra bacon and it was excellent! ( and huge but we couldn’t stop eating). They only serve breakfast but donut all day ( till 16:00). Only a few tables inside. Sourdough open sandwiches with variety of toppings also looked very good ( the table next to us ordered), so we would love to come back for another perfect breakfast for those who like large hearty breakfast

Homy and small little breakfast place specializing in breakfast dishes with homemade bread. Interior is cute and cozy, however location is not the best since it’s on a very busy, polluted, and loud street. Reservations are recommended on the weekends since it has very limited interior seating. Food was delicious, portion was big, however nothing extraordinary. Service was great 👍

Great place! Amazing service, 10/10! The butter was wonderful and so was the toast with goat cheese. Great menu, easy to understand, very nice selection of options and many modifications can be made. The only thing we didn’t like was how close the tables were to each other, but otherwise the interior was very nice and homey. A few years ago it was a great place, I don’t know what happened, but it’s not the same anymore… The service is absolutely useless: the waitress took a very long time to bring the menu and didn’t take the order for a long time. Waiting for the food was also veeery long. The portions have become smaller and the prices higher. The appearance of the food doesn’t look very presentable. I was shocked to see a dirty sink and a dirty floor in a place like this. They present themselves as a fancy bakery/cafe, but in reality they’re lacking aesthetics, good quality and politeness.

We used to visit Mulberry on Ausekļa street quite often, but unfortunately, the atmosphere there has noticeably deteriorated lately. One particularly unpleasant experience involved a person who appeared to be either the administrator or the manager - it doesn’t really matter who exactly. Swearing at staff members in front of guests is completely unacceptable. Such behavior shows a clear lack of respect for both the employees and the customers. I genuinely feel sorry for the staff who have to work in such conditions. The service has definitely declined, but given the management style, it’s not surprising. The food is tasty, but nothing exceptional. Prices are reasonable for the quiet center. The final straw was a situation where, due to a large number of guests, one of the female guests accidentally bumped into a table, and a vase broke. The manager’s reaction - shouting across the entire restaurant - came off as completely unprofessional and humiliating.

We visited Mulberry on Sunday and enjoyed coffee and dessert. However, I was surprised that when I asked for a glass of water, I was told this is not provided. In many places, serving water with coffee and sweets is seen as a small but important gesture of care and hospitality. Even a simple glass of tap water, especially when a guest asks for it, makes the experience feel more welcoming. It would be wonderful if Mulberry could consider this, as it really adds to the comfort of your guests and leaves a warmer impression.

The sourdough bread, croissants, and pastries are good. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. You can stand at the counter for five minutes hoping someone will notice you, while several staff members are busy doing something else. And it's happening almost every time. Great bakery, but the service really ruins the experience.

Quality of service has dramatically dropped to the level when you have to choose another venue and just skip Mulberry at any cost. Owners - you got to make people you have newly employed actually notice customers and move around, not just stand. This is a disaster... Food is great though. But there are plenty other options around.

Vegan desserts need some improvement, especially when they’re not cheap. I tried the raw cake and chia pudding and both were disappointing. The cake was way too sweet. The pudding lacked nice flavors and just tasted overwhelmingly of coconut. The place itself is very cozy and staff was friendly and pleasant.

This is a great little gem in the heart of Riga. From all the brunch places we tried during our 4 day stay, this would definitely be one of the highlights. Healthy, delicious food that tastes fresh. There's something to be appreciated in the simplicity of the menu and the dishes - good, clean food. I had the bacon bowl and my wife had the hummus - both excellent choices. In fact, we liked it so much that we'll go tomorrow again. Also, the coffee was great.

I’ve tried shakshuka in many places around the city, but MR Fox truly makes the best one. The flavors are rich and balanced, the eggs cooked just right, and the fresh herbs bring it all together. It felt simple, honest, and absolutely delicious — the kind of dish that makes you want to come back.

One of the highlights was the open workspace, where you can watch the staff baking fresh pastries and bread. It added a nice, authentic touch to the experience. The coffee was of good quality, though the cup was a bit on the small side. The food was delicious, I particularly loved the salted pastry with tomato and mozzarella, which was both flavorful and satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our coffees arrived very quickly, which we appreciated. We paid 24 euros for three pastries and two flat whites. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but considering the quality, atmosphere, and service, it felt well worth it. A very enjoyable experience overall.

Most of pastries in this bakery are sweet, so if you want a savoury one, I would not recommend. At my first visit I got poppy seed croissant roll. It was pretty good but kinda boring. There were not much poppy seeds in the pastry. 7/10. The second time I was there I got pistachio croissant. It was very sweet. The filling was upsetting - it was not creamy, more like homemade icing (I could feel sugar crystals). So, if you are not into really sweet things, I wouldn’t recommend. 6/10. Service and atmosphere is excellent. Pretty busy both times I was here, but that’s not a problem for me.

Very nice, clean, and modern bakery with high-quality baked goods and drinks. The price is perhaps on the slightly high-end, but it is worth it for the quality that you get. There are also separate male/female toilets available at the cafe.

I’ve had the best pan au chocolat here, it was perfect with a cappucino. They also have a yummy tiramisu and their offer of products overall is impressive.

The cottage cheese pancakes were very good! They were moist and soft inside, with an even texture, and were served not just warm, but hot. Not to mention the super friendly staff! Very attentive and made you feel very welcome🙌 I enjoyed my time here.

I had mixed experiences. While the Eggs Benedict I ordered was perfect, the service was not much. It took quite a while to get the attention of the waitress to place my order, and I had to seek them again for the bill. Additionally, I requested a boiled egg but received something different instead. The cottage cheese pancake was just average. I also want to add the quantity of the food compared to the price is over priced.

We came here for brunch and the meal was stunning. They seem to specialise in eggs and it was definitely worth the higher price point. Would recommend to anybody visiting Riga.

I stumbled upon Lowine in Riga and am so glad I did! The staff were incredibly friendly and guided me through a wine tasting to help choose the perfect wine. I tried the avocado and salmon on sourdough was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The ambience was lovely, and I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Riga.

While traveling through the Baltic Countries we started to notice behaviour and approach of service staff towards clients. In a book called “de Nomade” by Anja Niewierra we read of the homo sovieticus, lion set free but so condtioned by living in cages that trapped outside in a mental cage. The same we feel with service. The approach is so strange. No greetings, no welcoming words, just ignoring the client and even avoid eye contact. Conversation is kept to bare minimum. It will take generations to lose this no service approach. Let’s hope it will come, this kind of good food needs better and friendlier interaction by staff. Coffee was surprisingly old fashioned with a good amount of robusta, so high on bitterness and low in acid ity. Strange strange looking at the winelist and the password for the Wifi : Naturalwine

Shocking service Dismissive and lazy waiters who were only attentive to a table full of dressed up females. Found the initial attentiveness positive however this changed. We had unlimited Prosecco but this was never topped up and the male waiters were more concerned with flirting with another table and constantly filling their drinks and no one else. Waiters asked several times if they could fill drinks and eventually they half filled glasses where again the table of females managed to get full glasses. Without asking. Will never recommend this place as it was terrible. Waiters also asked for coffee and half the orders missed. They were then rude or dismissive. Went for a Sunday brunch. Nice kitchen menu, friendly service, free bubbles 🥂 Also a virgin option! Great experience if you want something out of the ordinary.

We attended the pre Christmas brunch The service was terrible, food was good, atmosphere was ok. The service was appalling for this kind of place, the waiters were not attentive and there were not enough of them. We had to constantly ask to top up the glasses, meanwhile they would always top up table next to us. Waiters would not take the dirty plates fast enough, coffees were arriving slow and then they would forget to bring one coffee and would take ages. One waiter would forget something and then we would ask another waiter again. The quality of coffee was very bad, like water. The prosecco that was included in the brunch was not always the same and we would be topped up with different one, which is just not what you expect in a restaurant of this level. In the end we were overcharged on the bill. The drink some of us ordered was 12 euros on the menu, but they tried to charge 18. After confronting them they said it was an old menu and price is now higher. We refused to pay the difference. Another negative is that the staff only spoke english, which is unusual and annoying for locals that do not speak English. The pianist was playing nice music, so one of not many positives. The restaurant is trying to be classy and posh, but under delivers

Don’t even think about going there for a meal. Didn’t live up to the reputation of the hotel at all. The place was empty on a Friday night when we went there around 10pm and we had to walk around to find someone to get a table. Our waiter didn’t even have a smile on him and didn’t bother to even introduce the menu. He made us feel like we were a burden to them and I almost wanted to walk out but my parter wanted to try their food. And the food was NOT good at all. I had the scallops and prawns pasta which was very ordinary and the Duck my partner had was quite bland and boring. The chocolate cake desert was so dry and hard and had no character at all. The cream buley was served with fruits and a sorbet and it was such an unmatched confusion! The actual cream buley portion was so little and I was very upset. Kempinski needs to get the act together and hire a good chef with a creative mind and may be train their staff not only in service but social skills !

The best museum in Latvia 🇱🇻 I ever visited I would like to share here and also a leading museum internationally. The location is absolutely great, the spaces where art objects are shown are wonderful containing space & perfect light and this museum happens to be the only museum which is professionally dedicated to exclusive contemporary art in Latvia. To visit the Zuzeum in Riga will be the best choice concerning contemporary art in any case. I also added a couple of fotos of the Erwin Wurm exhibition. I couldn’t believe what I saw at this exhibition and art fans know that this is the first solo show exhibited outside of Wurms home country in Austria, Vienna just maybe a year ago. It is incredible what has been achieved in this outstanding space of art in the Zuzeum Museum Riga. Thanks again to anybody involved in this exhibition and to the staff in general for the constant effort in showing contemporary art in the most beautiful way possible.

Visit if you can! I love this place! It always has the best exhibitions. Do NOT miss the current one - "How it is" by Erwin Wurm. This one is interactive, so you can (and are encouraged to) actually touch and climb some of the exhibits. Make sure to read the signs to know which ones you can touch! Oh, and the cafe and gift shop are stunning as well. There is a rooftop terrace too.

There was a marvellous exhibition of Erwin Wurm when we visited Zuzeum which will be open until 14th of September 2025. No other art works were displayed but it was still worth to visit.

This is a fantastic place for contemporary art lovers. The exhibitions are diverse, thought-provoking, and well-curated, with both local and international artists represented. The building itself is interesting and spacious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I saw the Erwin Wurm exhibition, it was fun and I loved how the artworks invited the viewer to interact with them (pro tip if you want to get drunk for the price of an entrance ticket: there's a piece which literally tells you to get drunk and offers the alcohol 🤣). The building itself was lovely, with a small sculpture park outside and a roof terrace.

Art Center Zuzeum is a must-visit for anyone interested in modern and contemporary art. Asian cuisine is not the only option here, but it’s definitely a highlight and a great choice for lunch. The place gets quite popular during lunchtime, often drawing a crowd—sometimes it’s even hard to find a seat. There’s always at least one dish with meat or fish available every day. There are also vegetarian and vegan options. Most of the menu leans toward Asian flavors, offering both unique and familiar dishes of good quality. Since it's focused on lunchtime, it’s not really a dinner spot.

StockPot is such a great find in Riga! Their Asian fish soup was bursting with flavor and so comforting, and the West African chicken curry was absolutely delicious—rich, hearty, and perfectly spiced. You can really taste the love and creativity that goes into their dishes. A cozy spot with bold, international flavors—I’d definitely recommend it!

If we lived in Riga, we would eat here every day! We had the Thai curry (excellent with the just the right amount of heat) and the hummus and tabbouleh meals (maybe the tabbouleh could have used a bit more lemon). It was a light lunch for us and just perfect before we hit the road. Easy to walk to from Old Town.

I’ve been a regular customer since moving to Riga a few years ago and this is still my favourite lunch spot in the city. Great, quick food and one of the few options in the city centre if you want spicy food. Chilli Wednesday is still one of the highlights of my week.

There is normally one or two vegetarian options, but tend to be very spicy . For sone reason the only side is rice and they offer only white wheat bread. Would be nice if there were buckwheat or quinoa and rye bread options.

This is such a beautiful, little restaurant especially when you’re surrounded by loud, touristy places. The food was fantastic, really fresh and the wait staff were super friendly and chatty and you could tell they liked their job. The downstairs outside seating area is tiny and it’s next to a hookah bar but they do have a roof terrace. It was closed because of a storm but I imagine it would be lovely up there.

We had a nice time sitting at the rooftop café in Riga’s Old Town. The place has seating on three levels: a bar on the first floor, restaurant tables on the second, and outdoor spots on the rooftop. Service was good and friendly. Recommend to visit.

I stumbled upon Lowine in Riga and am so glad I did! The staff were incredibly friendly and guided me through a wine tasting to help choose the perfect wine. I tried the avocado and salmon on sourdough was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The ambience was lovely, and I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Riga.

While traveling through the Baltic Countries we started to notice behaviour and approach of service staff towards clients. In a book called “de Nomade” by Anja Niewierra we read of the homo sovieticus, lion set free but so condtioned by living in cages that trapped outside in a mental cage. The same we feel with service. The approach is so strange. No greetings, no welcoming words, just ignoring the client and even avoid eye contact. Conversation is kept to bare minimum. It will take generations to lose this no service approach. Let’s hope it will come, this kind of good food needs better and friendlier interaction by staff. One of Riga’s true gems ⭐️ Chambao has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in the city. Their breakfast menu is very tasty, with thoughtful options for kids and later in the day, they serve some of the most authentic Mexican flavors you’ll find in Riga. To top it off, the cocktails are simply exceptional—easily among the best I’ve ever had. A must-visit for food lovers and cocktail enthusiasts. And what’s also important - staff is always so friendly and nice!

Chambao delivered one of the best breakfasts of the stay. The décor was bright and stylish, giving the place real character from the moment you walked in. The food matched the setting, served fresh and well presented, with flavour and variety across the menu. The staff were enthusiastic and clearly enjoyed being part of the place, which made the service smooth and friendly. It felt like more than just a quick breakfast stop — it was an experience worth highlighting, and one of the stronger meals overall. Loved their eggs & potato pie!

Finnally I have found Mexican style place in Riga. First - attitude from employees: we come before breakfast time end and chef was kind enough to agree to take our non-breakfast order. I was afraid to take halapenjo starter, but I took it based on advise from waiter. It is the best starter, I have eaten. If you like spicy food, you should try it. And desert: my boyfriend, who ussualy dont eat deserts, ate it. Must come to visit, if you like Mexican food🎉💕✨

We went with friends for lunch, while making a reservation the waitress mentioned that they only were working until four, unfortunately she did forget to mention that they were only serving breakfast that day. Because of that even tho the food was good, it wasn’t what we had in mind when we made the reservation. The food was good ( we had the ranchero, guacamole roster with salmon and taste with strachatela ). I should also recommend the churros, they are served with homemade caramel and chocolate sauce.

Very cosy place. There was always a line waiting must be the sign of quality. Coffee lovers say the coffee is OK. The patiseries were not fresh enough but maybe it's just me being spoiled. I have also ventured for an omlet (8€). Classic tasty but overprised.

This might have been even longer if I hadn't spoken with one of the attendants, who not only made sure food was ready within 5mins but also given us a discount of 20%. Honestly speaking I have visited several countries, never took so long. Newrly a terrible service for average food.

I hope that chili takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to enhance the overall dining experience. At this time, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others, as the issues with service and food quality impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Laiva is a charming spot with delicious food, a nice selection of wine, and genuinely friendly service. The cozy, thoughtfully designed interior makes it a great place to unwind in Pāvilosta.

Food for the price is not acceptable. Toast was wet from fats, wasn't golden, just white soaked bread, with black spots, seemed like from dirty stove and not burns. Cottage pancakes was undercooked. Wet mass of cottage cheese, definitely not pancakes. Do not recommend.

The food was very good but we had to wait 1 hour just for a salad that usually takes 15 minutes to make. We came here together and in other restaurants the food comes together but one persons food came faster then the others and we had to wait 20 min just for the other dish.

Yet way too expensive for semi-self-service and portions close to the nouvelle-cuisine style. One hardly expects these prices in a place where you have to order your food at the till and where so many things from the menu (that is dirty and sprinkled with ketchup) are not available.
