Had an amazing night till we checked our bill and find out that the cashier was adding drrinks we did not ordered and made us pay for it. Is it how u guys make more money?When asked for an explanation, she told she served us which was not the case. This place need to have staff which are in their senses and stop stealing us! Be more professional.

Shame on this place for having staffs that are not in their senses to work. You have a cashier that have no manner of talking nor even take up orders! Been there waiting for a long time because she was taking orders for her friends before us and chatting with them. On the good side we have had a good musical experience even on a low crowd monday. Place seemed alive with good music.

Amazing food and good live & dj ambiance on weekends But on the downside is that there are many drunk staff there who can't even do their job like the lady cashier who tried to swindle our money and act like nothing while security guys don't have manners to talk and privileges' certain people to smoke on the bar and us not...they even tried to make us pay drinks for them so as to get in... Hope you guys look into that matter cause apart from that we had a great time dancing and chilling... 06.09.25 update; great to see that you updated the security, did not see that long security guy who deals stuff there. But disappointment is that u guys still have a thief on cash counter. Paid an entrance and had a great musical experience but a poor service from the bar. Atmosphere was superb.

We only ate here once, but the lamb shank was huge and delicious and the burger was superb. The onion rings side was also huge and the acoustic guitar was a bonus. An easy bar to recommend

First time trying out the palm heart salad and it was amazing. The ambience and food were really good. The service was unfortunately very slow. We waited for some time to be acknowledged because the place doesn’t have a host at the entrance. The restaurant area is open and it started raining however they have some umbrellas that kind of help keep you dry. The live band sang so beautifully which helped in making the ambience a lot more special.

It seems nice on nice on face value, prices are fair for a touristy place workers seem nice but will profile you basing on race most likely trained by the Indian management ! If your black you will be asked to clear your bill the moment your served! Which is odd. Even you want to spend more you will just not! Actually some black and African tourists spend more than whites! If your someone of color and easily get upset by racial profiling avoid! As for me I stayed till closing time!

It is a nice place to chill. We had some drinks. Light meal. Was quite busy so service was a bit slow. The live music was good. We will return

Fantastic Beach Club Experience An absolute gem! The atmosphere was incredible, and the setting—simply breathtaking. The entrance fee for the beach club is 1,500 MUR and it’s worth every penny. The food was delicious, especially the tuna, but the real highlight was the stunning views and the amazing staff who truly made our day. Highly recommend!

Unaware that a DJ would be playing throughout our Sunday visit - and the music was far too loud! No poolside or beach drinks service which is not the service you would expect at such a venue. A lovely beach and pool, but room for improvement. No step/handrail access into pool so a real health and safety issue.

Today we went here for breakfast. If you are not from nearby hotels need to pay 200 Rs for person, which we did. Breakfast food choice were poor, prices were high and overpriced in my opinion. For the food in picture we paid all together with the entrance fee 1940Rs. 3 egg omelette was okay by taste, smoked marlin was awful, all other food was tasteless. Service was okay and fast, and polite. View and atmosphere is nice but going for breakfast not advisable.

I've been to quite a few places here now like beach clubs and restaurants and can comment this for sure that the service these people provide is literally upto the mark. The warmth for costumers is like any guest would expect. Apart from that the ambience of the place is cozy with the waves sound, a nice and clean swimming pool, couches and nice lounge for sitting around. Food was also fresh and nicely made. Over and over I'd recommend this place for spending time. We went for lunch there so apart from the food bills there will be 200/- (July 2023) per head for club booking pool side. Thanks.

The food tastes good and the service is great in an amazing atmosphere

The food is very good, but with the price also my expections were a little bit higher. The Service was perfect. The display of the food and drinks was very appealing. My 🍔 was just as expected. Still very good (A-) and medium as ordered. The burger could have been more fancy, modern style. The dessert was very good! no but. ;) The same with cocktails. Just excellent. I had mixed feelings with the starter. The Seafood broth: the fish inside was awesome, the squid chewy and tasted like water, the mussels were ok, the shrimps were good. The total liquid in the broth was just maybe 10 spoons. The bowl was only coverd. The bowl itself was cold. 1min and the erverything inside was cold to. The concept of the dish is great but the execution rusulted in a bit disappointment. (D+)

Lovely venue with great atmosphere. We were there on a quiet Thursday evening and had a wonderful experience. The beers were ice cold and the burgers filling and juicy. Attentive and friendly service.

The guards are racist.. They banned me for no reason, and when you try to talk to them politely to ask why, they become aggressive with you. The only thing they told me was that other white people like me had caused problems the day before. My friend and I had to run away, and I don’t even want to imagine what could have happened if they had caught us. If you’re not a local, it’s better not to go there. I truly hope that Directors takes action and does something about the kind of people he hires.

If you visiting Mauritius, Big Willy is definitely a place to chill over some cocktails to start off with and some great food - their meat dish was absolutely delish. Atmosphere and service was a plus too.

Great atmosphere attentive staff

This is a fantastic place to go to for food, socialising and dancing. The best time to go is on a Saturday when there is a live band and a DJ. I really recommend this place if you want to experience Mauritian nightlife.

For starters, we went with the cheese samosas. They were crispy fried and completely filled with cheese. Taste wise, they were good. Were they special, not really. But still good. Another starter we had was the lamb kebabs. Flavorful, tastes like something you would cook at home. We also had another starter than includes either eggplants or zucchini’s on top of a large crispy biscuit. The combination was surprisingly good but the biscuit itself was extremely hard to cut through and it also felt impossible to eat with your hands. For our main dishes, we had the Mama Wagyu Burger with mild spiciness. Because we were hungry, we added a fried egg. It was good, the sauce elevated the flavor but still nothing special. The major disappointment came with our second main dish, the Lamb Shank. It was chewy, lacked flavor, and it had a lot of fat! We couldn’t eat it at all.

Very rustic atmosphere and beautiful. The service is really friendly and attentive, the food is top-notch and delicious, whether the beef or the vegetarian option. We can highly recommend it and will gladly come back.

Overall nice atmosphere, the place is quite spacious, the service is good and relatively quick. The food variety could have been better. Maybe add a special dish every weekend because regular customers may be bored with same food list. The drinks variety is nice and the price is reasonable for the location. Very nice restaurant a block off the main strip. We enjoyed the burger and chicken wings. Reasonable prices and great service. If you like good beer, make sure to try the one of the Thirsty Fox selection.

Visited this venue again, hoping to enjoy some music with a meal. Unfortunately this was an off night and they had a problem in the kitchen, nevertheless, they made a plan with chicken spring rolls and chips. They were brilliant and the service excellent as well. The only downside is that I could not hear the music as the crowd was so loud. The place was full of people. I would like to suggest that the management consider amplifying the sound of the band as this would offer a better dining experience. This place rocks, that's for sure.

Nice place to sit and relax, it's filled with family vibes so you will feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The food is really good and affordable and the best thing I liked about the place is trivia night that happens every 3rd Saturday in a month. You get free shots for every round that you win which is a really great motivator. Definitely recommended for a chill night out

My favorite spot to hang out on a Friday night! The staff is not only well-groomed but also well-mannered and incredibly welcoming, making the atmosphere feel like a little family. The security is also top-notch, always ensuring that everyone, especially girls, feels safe. It's always a great time, though I’d love to see more new artists or even some classic ones like Zulu or Menwar in the future.

Went to the club as a tourist, I made a mistake and jumped over the metal fence(no line or barrier) I walked back and apologised. The security were immediately hostile even after I apologized and tried to explain as peacefully as possible I'm not from the country and made an honest mistake, we left shortly after because they were becoming aggressive looking for a fight. I would suggest to all tourists going to avoid the club, the music was good but atmosphere was horrendous with security looking for reasons to fight you. Hope this post helps to keep people safe.

It is a club which sometimes have repeated songs playing when there is special party(different DJs' present) when there was several local artist playing, it suddenly break the dance flow of my friends and I. Maybe we were in hype dance mood. And it did not go appropriately with US.

We did not feel safe at this venue after witnessing an assault on Friday and security did nothing. The aggressor carried on with their activities. We decided to leave for our own safety. We do not feel safe in Mauritius.

We were made to Pay rs4800 for a 3800 bottle of whisky without enjoying it as bouncers told us to get out on some fabricated pretext surely to enjoy our bottle... Very bad experience overall management has to clear things up

Quite disappointed of this club , we were like a group of boys ready to spend as one of our friend was celebrating his birthday, the security at the door was rude and told us that we need to be accompanied by girls to enter in the club, that's so discriminatory. This is why partying in Mauritius is becoming so boring and will never be like in Europe or Asia when even a group of guys you pay the entrance fee and you can party. An advice for the management review your policy you could market more client and get more money and try to take example with international countries !!!!

Had a table booking, was greeted and taken to our seats. Was excited by the menu but let down by the overall meal. Restaurant turned into a club night which was pretty decent, however, music was pretty poor and the D.J was pretty lame in his mixing skills. On a plus note - cocktails were super nice!

The food was really good here, got the best tuna steak i had so far in Mauritius. The dessert (brownie) was also top. The place is very easy going and service nice. Prices are also fair for the quality you get. I would come back!

Having known about the Beach House for years and coming since 2012, tonight was unfortunately very disappointing. Aware that it changed ownership a few years ago. Came in 2024 and it was ok. Tonight was a different experience The famous Juicy Lucy burger used to be piled high with the juiciest all beef patty. This time their menu has a cheese filled burger patty. We asked for the burger to be swapped but the waiter had no clue what we were asking for. This went on far too long. With much arguing we managed to make our order. Waiter simply could not understand and was quite rude! We also chose chicken wings starter and a tuna and shrimp salad to share. Verdict- burger was pretty good although not the same as the original Juicy Lucy from years ago. Came with frozen wedges. Chicken wings - possibly from the freezer and absolutely no flavour on the coating. Served with a side bowl of bbq sauce. salad - pretty tasty but only one prawn. We know and appreciate good food and this didn’t hit the mark tonight at all, and for around £40 it definitely wasn’t worth it. Such a shame for somewhere that was very much a firm favorite for many years. Bring back the old Beach House .

Staying at hotel next door so been going in TFDD pretty much every night for a night cap… Samuel is a rock star behind the bar and very friendly. Food is awesome and there was a live set by a couple of guys on guitars who were excellent. Really nice place.

We came in the afternoon on a weekend. Almost empty place. Beer was nice. Hummus was miserable. It was such a small serving, like a ketchup dip. And 6-8 small pieces of bread for dipping. This cost more than a beer!

I love this place. Best margarita pizza, truffle,seafood pizza. I love their simplicity and cozy set up. Very informative and well decorated restaurants. I love their drinks and desserts. Highly recommended to go with family, group and colleagues.

Great location but vibe was a put down, has a pool on site, management can do better to create better entertainment. Place next door, Oasis was no better, played Xmas songs on repeat off YouTube until Soccer came on. Having the soccer then on for the rest of evening, was extremely inconsiderate. Also very short staffed at the time.

The food was great yet the beer managed to find a way to outshine the well cared for tasty morsels I popped in my mouth. There is something for all here, even Budweiser. Get the Nation’ale, St. Bernardus and finish with a dessert like chalice of Kasteel Rouge, Belgian cherry beer.

Visited Flic en Flac Beach in the evening and got to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets in Mauritius. The golden light reflecting on the calm waters, with the horizon slowly turning shades of orange and pink, was simply magical. The beach itself is long, clean, and perfect for a relaxing stroll. The atmosphere was peaceful, with a gentle breeze and the sound of waves creating the perfect setting to unwind. A must-visit if you’re in Mauritius — especially in the evening for a picture-perfect sunset experience.

Undoubtedly one of the most famous beaches of Mauritius. The beach although crowded but has enough space to walk around and feels calm as well. There are multiple eatery options at the beach as well as on the opposite side of the road. Parking is ample.

Beautiful beach, much quieter than expected as it is quite a touristy area. The snorkeling was great, we saw loads of different and very colourful fish. The lagoon is very shallow and has a lot of urchins so make sure not to stand while snorkeling amongst the corals. Food trucks are good along the beach, there are also restaurants if you prefer.

Free parking with access to the beach , along with shower and toilet facilities . Lots of parking , not aware of any security issues , and feels very safe . Access to the sea is simple and safe , be aware of the power boats , local fisherman and tourist cruisers - when swimming alway be aware of your surroundings ( speeds of these boats leaves no room for error if they do not see you ).

Beautiful beach with public access. Each beach seems to have a care taker that looks after the toilets and beach area making it very clean. Good car parking area.

Favourite snorkel spot, right down the south end (park opposite dive spirit or near popo supermarket). Good variety just off shore, no boat trips necessary. You can swim to where they go in 2 mins. Crowded in the central part of the beach near car park. Wear water shoes and it's chilly in August

He made every moment by the beach even more special. Our butler Ibrahim went above and beyond to make us feel at home; his attention to detail and kindness truly elevated our stay. The management team made us feel like valued guests at every step, treating us with such attentiveness and care that we left feeling completely spoiled and cherished. The food was superb, the hospitality unmatched and the memories we made at Trou aux Biches will stay with us forever. Trou aux Biches Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius. The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The white sandy shore is clean and great for relaxing with family. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful beach day with stunning sunsets.

We spent hours in the water here - such a perfect beach to swim in! No shells or rocks to hurt your feet, just pure, pleasant water. And the color of the water? Azure blue and green as far as the eye can see. Simply stunning!

We heard good things about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Exquisite food, a great variety to choose from, excellent wine to choose from. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable about food, wine and rum! Very quiet when we went and got a table easily. Brilliant service and delicious food. Would go again!

We discovered this place during our visit to Tamarin and were surprised by how good and balanced the food was. The bistro has a neat setup with a large wine selection. We had the sangria which was citrusy and not too sweet which made it perfect with the food. For food, we started with marinated olives, tuna crusted with peanuts, and some grilled shrimp. The olives were surprisingly delicious with the lemon, olive, and garlic marinade and paired well with some bread. The tuna was slightly overcooked and the peanut did overpower it slightly. The shrimp was so fresh and well seasoned with a really balanced dipping sauce making it the best appetizer of the night. For mains we ordered the grilled fish fillet which was cooked perfectly and flavorful. We wrapped up dessert with a chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream which was a good way to end the meal. Service is attentive and staff is very friendly. There is also place to park right outside which makes this place convenient to visit even later in the day.

We stopped here after visiting Chamarel and glad we did. Serves tapas meals and they were all great tasting and perfect for sampling lots of the menu between 2 of us. Nice, relaxing atmosphere too during the day when we were there. Recommended

What a wonderful tapas menu! Not overwhelming but with a good variety of dishes. The restaurant is a delight in decor with lots of amusing hidden finds. Service top class and waiter very attentive. The food was delicious and a highly enjoyable meal. Will definitely be back again.

When the food is so good that you don't even think of taking pictures of it...! I found the concept of tapas, sharing, very interesting. Every single thing we ate was delicious. Special mention for the risotto... even the garlic bread was top! The rosé was great, the service perfect. 10 out of 10. The place has a lot of charm and is not very noisy despite being on the main road. I will no doubt go back to taste other things!

Amazing lunch. Like really amazing. We had a five different small fishes that was all outstanding. Great service as well. The wine is outstanding too. Wish we could visit again but Denmark is calling in a few days. Try - you will love it.

Not overly impressed. We came in for lunch and were in doubt if the kitchen was even open. I ordered drinks right away, which would prove prudent. The waitress was less than attentive. When our meal arrived, I asked for another beer. It only arrived after I had finished my food, having stood on the counter for 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, I can’t share the positive reviews regarding the service. We were there twice; the first time we drank two beers that were not really cold, and right from the start, we didn’t feel welcome and rather sensed annoyance because we hadn’t decided after 2 minutes. The second time was very similar; we had cocktails, and after ordering one cocktail each, you get annoyed looks if you don’t order food. There was no please or thank you, and no goodbye when paying. The cocktails are strong but taste rather average and, in my opinion, are too expensive for that. Quellen

Nice place. But view of the sunset, we had hoped wasn't given. We der shuffled into a little corner and very rushed served. Had a few drinks and left again. Nice enough place but there are better rooftop bars nearby.

There is a guy who does karaoke. He is always there. He is a total buzz killer. The lady owner saw us spending the evening till 11.30p.m over there and she told us we can go to the night club directly from the tavern but that guy stopped us. Even after telling him who told us to go, he said NO! As if he owns the place. Does he? If he does, he is a very bad businessman. Well we went back to the lady owner and she gave the task of taking us to the club to the karaoke guy 😂 since then whenever we enter the tavern, his face looks like he had a bad case if loose motion… well else the place is awesome but not going back unfortunately… very sad… but hey there are so many other places so…

There were no doormen outside so I just walked in. Somewhere inside, an employee roughly grabbed me by my arm and demanded to see my ID. Absolutely rude, not going there again. Also not much inside, just one pool table, bar and a Dartboard.

The Tavern was a terrible experience. Owners working at the bar treated us terribly and refused to make cocktails because they do not get extra profit from this and said it takes up too much time. We were cursed at numerous times for simply ordering a cocktail. Never have I experienced such rudeness from ordering a drink. We left immediately. I do not recommend this place.

Great place to eat. Also played the rugby on a big screen. The owners are south african/mauritian. The south african lady had great local info and told us alot about the area and local food. Really good atmosphere, especially on game day 🏉! It felt like a pub from home!

If you are looking for a good margarita then it's a must to drop by there. At night the karaoke thing is soo great. The environment is soo musical friendly and enjoyable. Am definitely going there again for the cocktails 🍸. 🥰🥰

A wonderful place to have a drink, the atmosphere is amazing and friendly. They have darts, foosball and karaoke. The owners are friendly and service is great. A definite must visit while your are here.

Michelle and her husband have created a fantastic restaurant with delicious food and a great atmosphere. They are welcoming and accommodating and I can't recommend their restaurant highly enough

A perfect place to chill out and have a drink. The place is ideal for a break from daily hustle as it provides a serene atmosphere. I would encourage a visit in the early evening so that you get to enjoy the charm of the sunset other there.

***TOURIST BEWARE*** This review is more about the surroundings than the club itself. The staff is very friendly and security is awesome. There were 2 guys following women inside of the ladies bathroom which was extremely suspicious but security properly handled the situation. NOW FOR SOMETHING NOT PERTAINING TO THE CLUB. I didn’t know how else to shed light on this situation being that the burger stand isn’t findable on google There is a burger stand outside of the club which is the only option for food at that time of night. They are extremely aggressive and attack tourist. They behave like wild animals. Me and my wife were attacked by a group of 10+ men with sticks and stones as if it’s 500 years ago. No one helped us. They pulled Machetes out and jumped us for no apparent reason. ITS EXTREMELY dangerous to eat after the club is over. I advise catching a taxi and leaving immediately after the club is over. Do not hang around for food and do not talk to locals as they are very uncivilized. The taxi driver told us that those guys always attack tourist and injure them badly AVOID THIS ENTIRE AREA AT NIGHT

Extremely disappointed at what Inso has become these past couple of months. Used to be playing some of the best club music in Grand Baie but the last time I was there, I was shocked at the dull atmosphere and unpleasant music. In all honesty, it seems like Insomnia has died and is catering to the 40-50 year old labourers who now surround the club on Fridays. Really hope that the club is able to get back to, if not what it once was, half of it.

We tried the Caesar salad and it was so good — I especially loved the black pepper flavor. The fish of the day (sniper), grilled, was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We also tried the steak — 100% worth it! The gratin was OMG, so tasty. For dessert, we had the chocolate fondue, which I didn’t like, but the mango and cardamom cake was just perfect and lovely. The service was amazing and made the whole experience even better.

Lunch today @On the rocks -Oberoi Mauritius —awesome seating outside under a canopy beside the Ocen and the weather was top noch for us today -We had the Greek salad paired with Goat cheese and spinach wrap and top up with the Old Delhi PAneer Kathi rool we had the salt and sweet lemonade to quench our thrust and continued on our culinary delight with Giardiono pizza and the Terriyaki Todu bowl —Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food —5 stars and our thanks to Mr. Prashant Trivedi for organizing the same the other serving staff was very helpful and served us top noch —Must Visit

On the rocks served the best food out of all the other restaurants from Oberoi resort. We spent most of our dinner time at this place. The place is very cosy and romantic due to the beach and water sounds. Lovely place for some couple time. This place requires reservation even though you are guest at the resort which was bit annoying. But the service and food they provided made it worth. We had our first lunch here and enjoyed Old Delhi Lathi roll wraps and fries and Chicken skewers with Satay sauce. Bread was on the house. Enjoyed it with Olive oil and balsamic vinegar. From dinner menu, we ordered Asian style Pork Shin and must say it was delicious. Indian Ocean Lobster was just wow. Never ate lobster which melted in the mouth, so buttery and soft. Catch of the day fish (white fish) in lemon butter sauce was delicious too. Coconut peanut rice as side dish was good. As part of dessert, we got mango sorbet along with Bourbon vanilla Mousse with poached strawberries. Our tastebuds were fully satisfied that night. Next time we got ourselves meat platter that was especially made for us. It included white fish, squid, prawns, lobster, chicken thigh and pork sausage. Flavours in all the items were perfectly balanced. In dessert they gave rice pudding. That night dinner was a surprise to us as a part of token from the staff (just menu, it was added to bill anyway). Food in this place is exceptionally delicious. Staff is very friendly and cooperative with your food options. Wish to visit and eat here again. Cheers :)

I have just had the absolute pleasure of eating here......without a word of a lie the best dish I have ever eaten in my life. I had a chicken noodle traditional Mauritian dish and it was phenomenal. The staff were a credit to the beautiful setting of the restaurant, really could not fault it.

Had a fantastic lunch. They were happy to accomodate us although being fully booked. The view is fantastic, food was good, and service was brilliant.

Ordered calamar croustillant, chicken lasagna, Hawaiian pizza. The lasagne was one of the best, and the pizza was of a thin base and well garnished. There was crushed chili with lemon that were served on the side. Amazing staff and a great atmosphere. I loved the indoor-outdoor sitting set up.

It is hard to find a place with fast service and good food in Mauritius. The pizzas are very good, the ambience is marvellous, the waiters are sympathetic and fast. It is a very good place in terms of price performance. I recommend you to try their cocktails. A place we prefer as a family. The gesture they made on my daughter's birthday was also very nice.

Luigi’s never misses — it’s that one restaurant I keep coming back to. It has easily become one of my top favourite spots! The vibe is relaxed and cozy, yet stylish — perfect for a casual date or a chill evening with friends. My all-time fave? The smoked marlin pizza paired with a cold passion Fanta — absolutely divine. But on my last visit, I tried the lamb shank, and it was so tender and flavorful, it melted in my mouth. The service is always warm and consistent, and the menu never disappoints. A Perfect Dining Experience! We had the pleasure of dining at Luigi's Pizza Place, and it was truly a 10/10 experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. Although I regret not catching the names of the men who served us, they were incredibly attentive and friendly, making our family of three feel right at home. The waiting time was impressively short, and when the food arrived, it was simply outstanding! The pizzas were perfectly cooked, with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and just the right amount of crispiness. Every bite was a delight! On top of that, the staff was meticulous in keeping our table tidy, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. We can't wait to return to Luigi's Pizza Place for another amazing meal. Highly recommended!

The best place to hit after 9 PM when the majority of places are closed already, or their kitchen stopped taking orders. Tried all pasta they have and then started from scratch by trying everything with tagliatelle. Wonderful! Staff is very attentive and friendly. Jalapeno pizza is off charts, if you crave something spicy and cheesey.

Walking in the location and atmosphere was excellent. Unfortunately this is the only good thing about our visit. The food was extremely disappointing on our first visit (dinner) - the crab risotto had no visible crab in it and was tasteless and watery; the seafood pasta was also lacking in any flavour. The cherry on top was that we were also charged for a full bottle of water even though the waiter had shared this bottle across three tables. We were staying at LUX Belle Mare and were gifted free pizza as part of our package. Our second visit for lunch was redeeming. Their pizzas were fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. Would go back for pizza but not recommended for seafood.

We've eaten here twice nice (for lunch and for dinner) and it has been fantastic both times! The staff are very friendly, the food is so fresh and delicious, and the views are absolutely sensational! It's such an incredible place. They are so helpful with food allergies and additional dietary requirements. They make you feel truly valued. I love how it is transformed and lit up in red for the evening meal!

Belle Mare has the best restaurants and Beach Rouge has amazing food. We ate here twice and we have not been disappointed. Loved the food and the staff is very friendly.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Rated best restaurant in Belle Mare and I can see why! We were staying at another 3 star hotel just down the beach and decided to spoil ourselves with a nice dinner. It was quite pricey, but totally worth it. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. My tomato and basil pasta was fantastic and I can definitely recommend the Black Forest Cup for dessert. One of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. (Berry Panacotta was not great and the Lamb Shank had a strange sweet sauce, but the meat was cooked to perfection!)

One of the better restaurants in this are with great food and service. The bar offers some very interesting cocktails, that we enjoyed pre-dinner. We had a great time overall. Do remember to make a reservation first.

We had an absolutely AMAZING dining experience at Hasu Restaurant in Long Beach. Chef David and his assistant Latisha went above and beyond to cater to our requests and we were truly impressed by the incredible Vegeterian Sushi and beetroot starter they created. The food was outstanding, beautifully crafted and full of flavour! Their warm hospitality made the evening even more memorable. A special thank you to both chefs and the entire team for making our dinner such a wonderful experience. 🙂

We had an amazing evening at Hasu. All of the staff were extremely attentive, polite and efficient. The food was delicious - we wished we could try all of the dishes! Amazing execution on the dishes paired with a beautiful ambiance.

3rd time we went there and nothing has changed - they maintain a consistency in service and quality. Everything is made fresh and any kind of ingredient used is meant to be tasted and felt and when you eat - challenge respected! Seasoning is used as it should and not to cover the center piece as l often like to highlight. And this is a plus. What also sends me back there every time is the ambience and the team - warm, cosy, intimate. The team is always mind that you obtain a great welcome and service - you feel they care for how you are going to experience the restaurant. Love it! Thank you.

We had dinner at Hasu in Mauritius on our honeymoon. Chef Ritesh created a vegan four course menu for us and it was superb! As vegans we have never experienced Japanese cuisine at this standard and the whole experience was incredible filled with unique, creative and flavourful dishes. To top it off our server Elvis made the evening even more special with his attention to detail and friendly nature. Highly recommend.

Excellent Japanese restaurant at Longbeach hotel. Sashimi is fresh. Sushi is excellent. Dessert is amazing! Very good service. Chef Ved is amazing, his dishes are very creative using local ingredients incorporated in Japanese cuisine. Had a great dinner. Beautiful decor and nice atmosphere. Would recommend.

Beautiful beach bar that has an elevated feel compared to many of the places we visited in Mauritius. We watched a stunning sunset and enjoyed a selection from the well-curated wine list before dinner. The food was good but not excellent, with something for everyone on the menu. The stand out dishes were the Thai basil prawn noodles and green chicken curry. The seared tuna was middle of the road, and the burgers were decent. Portions were generous but did not fully compensate for the price point, although Mauritius in general has become very expensive when spending in ZAR. Worth a visit, especially for sundowners or a beach day.

Very good if you want to spend the day! Rent a lounge chair to sit in the sun. Normally in that quality only in hotels to find if you stay over. Food is good oriental and European food. So something for everybody! Price is ok. We love to spend the day there. Many restaurants here... but nit to spend the day, rent a chair and relax.

Great location, beautiful views but average food. Fresh juice was great and fires were delicious, however tuna tartar was not great considering the price. Recommend for a drink with a view only.

The Service Experience was suboptimal. Upon arriving at the restaurant we waited a while until one of the waitstaff (4-5) finally came to us. He shrugged us off to wait a bit more (we only wanted some cocktails) until 10 min later another waiter came and finally took our order. After some time had passed, we decided to check on our order and retrieve the drinks ourselves. Prices are fair, but also wifi was not working all three times we visited, reason explained by the staff was too many customers during the day so the wifi is now „jammed“, very strange explanation…

We were “welcomed” by a rude lady who said there were no seats, and they don’t take reservations for half days, making it impossible for families to visit. No one helped us with our baby stroller, and after sitting for 30 minutes, no one even took our order. They kept letting new people in while ignoring us. If you don’t speak French, don’t bother. They’re rude, unhelpful, and make you feel unwelcome.

Lovely place with stunning views. Perfect for those romantic evenings or events with friends and family. It was beautiful to watch the sunset while sipping your favourite drink. The vibrant colors of the sky blended seamlessly with the calm waters below, creating a picturesque scene that took your breath away. The gentle breeze whispered through the trees, adding a soothing touch to the already serene atmosphere. As the day turned into night, the stars began to twinkle above, casting a magical glow on the surroundings. It was a truly enchanting experience that will forever be etched in your memory.

Finally one normal, not ‘in the backyard of my house’ restaurant with very decent food, fair prices, great and friendly service. First, when we entered, a casual smiling. We see billiard table which is free to be used by guests and a drum-set saying - we do have good gigs and great atmosphere here. First order draft Fenix fresh beer - exactly what we needed. Next for starters - grilled octopus salad, nice tasty big portion. Next we had fish and some very special South African, but localised meal. All very tasty, good prepared and very decent amount of food. We had a very nice chat with the guy who served us, we played some billiard - good vibe. Right next door is the only supermarket- very convenient ☺️ Would recommend!

Dinner Night at Enso, La Gaulette .We recently spent a lovely dinner evening with friends at Enso, a cozy restaurant and pub located on the west coast of Mauritius, in La Gaulette. The place has such a beautiful setup — warm glowing bulbs and a chill atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed. 🌿🍸 It was Burger Night, and we tried a few amazing dishes: 🍔 Tuna Wasabi with Wakame – Rs 750 🍔 Pulled Lamb Burger with Onion – Rs 790 🍔 Chicken Philly Burger with BBQ sauce and melted cheese – Rs 590 🍔 Seared Tuna Steak with Tartare Sauce – Rs 750 Each burger had its own unique flavor and sauce — perfectly cooked and bursting with taste! I even noticed some creative options like the Pulled Jackfruit Burger with onion and chilli BBQ sauce (Rs 590) — a great vegetarian twist that’s not so common elsewhere. We also had some starters — the Chilli Chicken Wings and Grilled Octopus Salad — both absolutely delicious and quite generous in portion (definitely enough to share!). Service was quick, with food arriving within 15–30 minutes, and the cocktails were just fabulous. 🍹 If you’re looking for a relaxing spot away from the busy town life, Enso is definitely a hidden gem worth discovering. During a recent visit to Enso Bar Restaurant, we ordered the seared yellowfin tuna steak with vegetables and the piccata Milanese. While the dishes were neatly presented, the overall experience left much to be desired. The tuna steak was cooked adequately and accompanied by a small portion of vegetables. However, the flavours were basic and lacked any distinctive or memorable qualities. Fortunately, I had ordered a side of fries, though these were unfortunately undercooked, which further diminished the meal. The piccata Milanese followed a similar pattern—simple and inoffensive, but far from remarkable. In both cases, the portion sizes were extremely small, resembling more of a tasting portion than a proper main course. With such minimal servings and unexceptional flavours, the restaurant struggles to offer value for money. The limited menu also restricts choice, making it unlikely to appeal to those seeking variety or a more satisfying dining experience. To make matters worse, the prices are quite expensive for what is ultimately a very basic and underwhelming offering.

20 of us turned up unexpectedly after a visit to Chamarel.The restaurant didn't hesitate.Tables were set up for children and adults. Orders taken smoothly and the food came out quickly. The food is delicious. The curry is on point. This is coming from a British Mauritian. Trust me. Don't sleep on this place. Love it!

Enso Restaurant & Lounge Bar was a great choice! The lamb burger was delicious, and overall it was much better to eat here than in the resorts not just cheaper. Great atmosphere and friendly service, highly recommend!

We had a lovely meal at Enso's. The jackfruit burger and chicken burger were really good. My friend had the passion fruit mojito and I had a classic one. Best ones we had so far. Great service.

We went there on a Saturday night. The restaurant was really busy, and the parking lot was full. However, this didn’t spoil the experience, as the owner and staff were incredibly friendly. They simply told us to leave the car blocking others and hand over the keys so they could park it properly once a space became available—allowing us to enjoy our dinner in peace. The food was excellent. We ordered a starter and a couple of main courses for two people, and everything we had tasted amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect, with a man singing beautifully and a relaxed, enjoyable vibe all around. The waiters were all genuinely friendly and welcoming to everyone. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates great food. Having lived in Dubai for nearly 20 years, I can confidently say this place rivals any of the top restaurants I’ve been to in terms of food quality.

Was warmly welcomed by the manager. Went there for dinner. The atmosphere is great with cool music while having dinner. Took a lamb shank and risotto with seafood. The lamb shank was extremely tender and it comes with potato smash. The combination of the sauce, the lamb and the potato smash was amazing. The risotto was amazing too with a variety of fresh seafood. Tried scallop for the first time, it was delicious. We tried their homemade ice tea, it was a 10/10. Very fruity and refreshing. I will certainly go again to try other dishes and will also try the other Poivrier aound the island.

Feb24- went on a Wed eve. Was busy. Recommended by host but it didn't deliver: food was okay but below par service (conscious bias by staff?). Great decor and feel. Very inconsistent: Spaghetti vongole was delicious (cooked perfectly despite some grit) Vs a meh tuna tartare (mushy, needed texture and seasoning). The (v) large warm goats cheese salad was okay, but needed a dressing. For a place that limits it's menu (apparently) it had a very big menu! They made no real effort for vegetarians, 2-3 dishes. Such a shame as wanted so much to like it as special occasion dinner for ourselves, on last night. The one guy, maybe the maitre d'/ patron, was gregarious. We did feedback on night. Massive portion sizes! Tarte tatin hidden under mountain of ice cream and cream. If it was France I'd expect indifferent service AND amazing food..Nope. Confusing, imbalanced place, felt like it was trying too hard. Most expensive meal here so far £70 for 3 plates and one dessert, 3 drinks.

We visited this restaurant when we were in Port Louis and it was the best choice. Very nice service, all staff was so friendly and helpful. Very pleasant ambience and I dare say the best Indian food in Mauritius. High reccomend this restaurant. Great experience.

I highly recommend this well located restaurant, I've been at Namaste twice this month and both times the food were delicious ,each meal were full of flavor and the portions generous,the staff were friendly and of good advice,caring with the kids also. Loved the Indian-themed décor and thoughtful service flow – from the welcome wet towel to perfectly timed courses. Great ambience, delicious dishes . We ordered malai kofta, mixed raita, garlic naan and tandoor roti. They served complimentary papad. Specially their pickle is a must try. Highly recommended.

The food quality is excellent and truly offers great value for money. The staff consistently go the extra mile to provide exceptional delivery service to their regular clients, even though delivery is not normally offered. They are always helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. Overall, the food quality stands out as one of the best.

I’m not sure how this restaurant is so highly rated. It was suggested by our guide and am guess they get a commission by bringing tourists here. The service was horrible and the servers couldn’t care less. We waited for 20 mins for someone to attend. Finally we had to go to the bar to let them know we were waiting. I asked the server for water and he curtly replied we had not ordered water. We were supposed to order water? and who do we place the order with? the imaginary servers? It was one of the most pathetic service we have come across. Am not sure how this restaurant has the reviews it does. Do NOT recommend at all.

We ate here several times during our holiday in Mauritius as we felt we got a true experience of Mauritian cuisine at this restaurant. Mrs Juliette and her staff were so warm and welcoming and remembered us each time we arrived. The atmosphere in the restaurant is so pleasant and you can see why it is one of the oldest restaurants on the island still operating. The quality of the food is second to none and the staff are very attentive to all customers. The restaurant is very clean and there is also an excellent bar area with live music adjacent to the food service area for those who wish to have a drink before/after their meal. If you are in Tamarin be sure to pop into this incredible restaurant!

This is claimed to be the oldest restaurant on the island; established in 1969. The service is faultless and the venue is spacious with numerous seating options and a large bar area. All that’s missing is a sea view but one cannot have everything. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. All in all it was a lovely experience and I would recommend people try it for themselves. The service truly is excellent and they made me feel special on my birthday.

Friendly staff, but too expensive for the quality and size of portions. Starters were good. The dorade was dry and tough. We won't remember the sausage and white rice. Massive mark up on entry level SA wines. Not really a cosy place, but ok.

WOW! Our first of many visits… We live in the North but after seeing the reviews and menu we thought let’s embrace the journey and see what La Bonne Chute is all about… Owning a fine dining restaurant back in the UK we have high expectations when it comes to food. Both my partner and I were in awe of how DELICIOUS the food was. For starters Crab Gratin and Marlin Carpaccio. For mains the Lamb Shank and Wild Boar. For desert the Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Fondant. 5 stars for each dish and a special shout out for the Lamb. The largest and most tender shank we have eaten. To top it off the owners are nothing short of delightful! Friendly, welcoming and proud of their beautiful restaurant. Providing excellent value for money! Thank you for your exceptional food and service. How grateful we are to have found you and we will 100% be back in the near future.

An excellent Italian restaurant — I enjoyed most of the dishes, and I do have some experience with Italian cuisine since I love the country and often travel there. I highly recommend it. Honestly, I could dine only there during my stay.

Really looking forward to this meal. Menu Limited on all inclusive, but ok. Starter good main course wife had pizza, I had tenderloin both looked great. As soon as we finished the starter main appeared, both Luke warm. Asked waiter to change the pizza. He disappeared, so asked another waiter the same, he asked if he should warm it up or did we want a fresh one. We left, not what you expect in any restaurant. Disappointed

This is a beautiful Italian restaurant located within Ambre Hotel ans Resort. Lovely atmosphere. The interior designs are top notch and the meals are OK with plethora of options. It's recommended to make a reservation the day before or by 10am of the same day. This is a popular restaurant with tourists and guests of of the resort. As a result, it can get really busy and crowded. Well, I'm not a fan of Italians meals so, I went for the safest option by ordering Spaghetti Bolognese. The starter also, wasn't really giving.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our visits here. The food has been really nice. Worth trying the salads and the make your own pasta and pizza. Massive thank you to Natasha who has been super helpful and friendly whenever we've visited. Thank you to Shalinee and Roma as well. Everyone always remembered our drink orders and made us feel very welcomed. Would highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner. Once again, thank you for the warm, Mauritian hospitality and always serving us with a smile.

Bad experience. I don’t know why this place has this high rating. I ate there once. Shrimp salad and octopus curry. The shrimp doesn’t taste right. And octopus was too dry, average cooking. When I got back home, bad diarrhea. Not recommended.

Great service from the restaurant manager and his staff. Loved the Asian food, though I suspect some of it isn't authentic. Chopsticks has a cool atmosphere. Keep in mind that you need to wait awhile to get your food, even when the restaurant isn't full. Not a big deal given the quality of the food. Our orders were mixed up, so in compensation we got a complimentary dessert.

We had many, many lunches here and the were all equally as wonderful but my goodness, dinner was next level. Classics like bed carpaccio and buratta salad executed perfectly. The risotto is cooked to perfection. Possibly one of the best margarita pizzas I’ve ever had and the mushroom stuffed chicken was sublime! The food at every restaurant in the hotel is exceptional.

Amazing Italian restaurant located at Long Beach. Their food is scrumptious. I don't know if their penne is made in-house, but it tastes great. The food quality is on par with the quality of the hotel. Their staff are very professional. Service is definitely 5 stars. Sapori is perfect for couples, families and larger parties.

Zudem sind diese nur sehr dürftig gedeckt. Lediglich eine rote Tischunterlage deckt diesen alten grauen verfleckten Tisch. Eine Tischdecke, Kerze oder sonstige Deko ist hier nicht vorzufinden. Das Ambiente ist wirklich heruntergekommen und schäbig. Die Möbel sind abgenutzt. Einmal habe ich aus Versehen einen braunen Fleck auf dem Tisch angefasst. Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass es vermutlich Öl oder Soße von dem vorherigen Gast war. Diese eklige Schmiere hatte ich dann auf meinen Fingern, da die Tische sehr dürftig (wenn überhaupt) gereinigt werden. Ein streunender Hund hat beim Essen die ganze Zeit über fast neben mir gesessen. Nur der Plastikvorhang war zwischen mir und dem Hund. Dieser Plastikvorhang ist schmutzig, milchig und wirkt wirklich sehr alt. Von einer 5 Sterne Luxus-Hotelanlage fehlt hier jede Spur.

A nice restaurant with a calm atmosphere, in addition to that an outside bar, where you can sit and have your drink, and watching sports events on big TV screens We were a group of four persons and had a lunch . In our opinion, the food and the taste was of good quality, the spectrum of taste and overall experience was different. The price performance ratio was OK, the Service stuff was friendly and fast enough . A solid 4 star rating for this nice restaurant / bar.

The food is good but the service is absolutely horrendous and they are clearly understaffed. After sitting down you more often than not have to wait over 30 minutes before you are maybe asked what you would like to drink. There is no logic to the order in which people are helped as people having arrived after you will be helped first. The food takes forever to come after being ordered. It is also almost impossible to pay when you want to leave as the staff just disappear and are nowhere to be found or just completely ignore you.

I had a delicious meal here a few months ago, satisfying, flavourful and not too expensive. The drinks are great too. Service was good, atmosphere was a little too mosquito-ey (can’t blame the restaurant for that but they could maybe use a few mosquito zappers), also some electrical wiring looked very unsafe so be aware. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, it was perfect in my opinion, and a very large serving, but some family members enjoyed their meals a little less. All in all I would definitely recommend this place! Just be aware you might be able to avoid the mosquitoes by visiting here earlier in the day!

Therefore I didn’t find the restaurant online when I searched for ‘restaurants in the neighborhood’. When we passed by, we saw the place and visited. And came back for a second time 😂🤤

The food is delicious but overpriced. Softdrinks are included. Chicken, fish, pork, curry, noodles, cake, ice cream and a very delicious bread. Stuff is friendly :) We payed 2000 per person… too much if you ask me. That’s why only 3 stars even if the food was good.

Lovely hotel, the lobster night costs extra but it is worth it. Breakfast has a nice range of fruits, hot and cold foods. Lunch is served in all on site restaurants, good choices all round. Evening dinner you have to pre book the Italian on site. As a UK citizen this is an international hotel, with diverse range of guests. Expect to hear german, french, indian and more. Service is ok, but at times found it a bit slow, but overall staff very kind and happy to chat.

We went to have dinner as a couple. I booked on the phone so I was not aware there is a dress code. I was not told also by the staff who took my reservation. Despite having a reservation, the server wouldn’t allow us in because my husband was wearing slippers. I argued that you have to inform us about a dress code before we arrive for our dinner reservation. So the server went in and spoke to the manager and we got our seats. But to my surprise, the white guy (foreigner) wearing ‘slippers’ inside the restaurant chilling did not go through what we did. If you open a restaurant in Mauritius and you will act racist to us. Better close the restaurant and go to another country. Although the food was good but the racists acts ruin my dinner and mood.I dont recommend it!

The menu, though not extensive, has enough variety to suit all tastes, and every dish is cooked to perfection. I’ve visited several times and have never been disappointed. My personal favorite is the Jurassic Rib—highly recommended! The only downside is the absence of authentic Irish beer. While they serve Guinness, it’s the locally brewed version with a stronger taste. I hope they’ll eventually import classic Irish options like Guinness brewed in Dublin or Kilkenny to complete the experience. Despite this, The Irish remains a fantastic spot for great food and a cozy atmosphere.

A very average food experience. Very disappointed with the order of crispy calamari starter (see photo). Priced at Rs 345, the dish came with more fries than calamari itself. Nothing exceptional about the main courses either. Drinks were regularly-priced for restaurants and the waiting staff was pleasant and helpful.

Since the renovation, its a nice place and the decor isn't bad. Service and staff were attentive and had good manners. The food was good but not worth the money. The cheesy quesadillas were rubbish and the fries were all store bought and not in house. Sour cream was yogurt. I would come back but only if their portions grew for the price. But otherwise, its an average experience. 3/5 stars

Great food! You should definitely try the burgers there. You will also find that the staff are very friendly but a tad bit slow. My only issue is that there are no air conditioners or fans in the restaurant. If it’s a typical Mauritian day then you are bound to feel the heat, making it a uncomfortable experience.

This is a more cosmopolitan waterfront in Port Louis that stretches around part of the port. There are lots of places to eat, shop, walk, sit in the sun, and people watch. It's definitely one of the more pleasurable parts of the capital.

Port Louis Waterfront is so beautiful to see well worth a visit biggest problem is trying to cross the roads the traffic is endless and we waited 10 to 15 minutes to cross the road drivers are Not courteous towards pedestrians they all seem to be in so much of a hurry going nowhere. It also has a great shopping area well worth a visit.

Went bowling with my cousins, and it was a blast! The food and drinks were decent—I had pizza, and we got cocktails that seemed a bit light on the alcohol 🤔. The atmosphere was fantastic, with big screen TVs playing Sega (Mauritian music) that kept the vibe lively and fun 😍💃🏽🪩. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience!

If you want to play some Pool or Bowling it is a nice, friendly place. The prices are fair/ok and you don't have to wait normally to start your game. Especially interesting for groups or families which want to do anything around evening hours.

Terrible waitress serving us spilt the tray of drinks all over us due to chatting with her coworker friends behind the bar and then made us pay for it. Don't give this trash hole business. (Picture is her cleaning up the mess. We even had to ask for something to get ourselves dry). Lady in charge of the bar is very rude with a horrible attitude. Never going back to this place, terrible customer service.

Was here for the 28th birthday of hubby and we really enjoyed it!!. The waiting time is not soo much and we went on a Saturday night at around 20h30. The staffs is welcoming and customer friendly. They even have a slide to ease the game of our kids. And everything is really affordable from the bowling to the 🎱 only thing I would recommend is to have dinner before if you are a big eater as they only serve finger eating entries. Anyway we would surely be back again ❣️

The two BEST DINNERS during my holiday in Mauritus. Good and carefully cooked food; professional service. My compliments to the young chef Naresh and to his well harmonized kitchen team: Palloo and Juvraj. Also the waiters are kind and always cheerful. I work in Italy as a tour leader and I eat in a lot of good restaurants. The Coral is as good as a lot of them. PERFECT!

The whole team at the Coral made our honeymoon dinner really special. What a way to finish our week long holiday on the island. Ragini welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. Raj, Akshay, Nihsh, Niven, Palloo, and Poonye all took really good care of us. Food was delicious, presentation and service were all top class. But the real gem was Vima’s desert. The dark chocolate soufflé with hints of salt and tropical fruit was simply amazing. Vima should be on the Bake off professionals, I’m sure she will win it.

Absolutely love going to Barevoo these days. It's probably the best club in the North right now. Super refreshing to see a club in Mauritius that actually plays current tracks, with a great range - from house music and current hits to French songs. Prices are great and the staff are pretty good. I'd say it's definitely up there as my favorite spot in Grand Baie after 10pm.

The bar is packed to a crippling point, with a severe lack of verification for people of legal age (18+ as stated per the bar), thus once you set foot within the walls of the bar, you will quickly come to realise it is completely plagued with children. I fully understand that as a bar you are trying to make profit, but there is a severe compromise on the quality of the experiences if entries are not managed accordingly. In the event the bar were to become more adamant about entrance control it could defenitely correlate to a more fulfilling experience in the future.

My friend and I were looking for a bar to have a drink in grand baie. This bar was recommended in blogs. We had a very bad experience: - no service: we had to grab the drink menus ourselves, go order and go pay. (None of the 3 bartenders were busy) - there was a private party and no one told us. This was very uncomfortable, loud music, etc The drinks were not bad.

In my experience and personal opinion: Bar&vous is the best club in the north. Good music, good ambience, the dj are very nice, good service from staff and price of alcohol are fair. But the only thing that could have improvement is letting minors come in if they are accompanied. But other than that Bar & vous is very great.

Arrived at 17 30. Party of 6. Ordered appetizers - crispy chicken/calamari and sauté ourite (octopus). We also ordered the main attraction - Poisson Corne, along with its sides - satini brinzel (eggplant chutney) and salade lalo (okra). We never got the Octopus or Corne fish. Kept flagging down the server for our Ourite at least, because the fish was taking so long, and he kept saying 5 min, 5 min. By 20 00 we were still left waiting for the octopus, while the guy was walking around with Salade Ourite (octopus salad) - a totally different dish - asking which table it was for. What clearly happened was that they messed up the order and didn't even have the honesty to admit their mistake or propose the dish to us, their clearly hungry patrons. 20 30 - After waiting 3+ hours and being told it's coming countless times, they now announce that they've run out of Corne!!! They propose Capitaine fish instead, and we say yes because we're so hungry at this point, only to be told some 20 min later that they don't have that either! We are proposed Cordonier fish. At this point we're desperate and just say yes. AND IT IS THE SAME DANCE ALL OVER AGAIN. At 22 00, after trying to get a hold of the server (the owner just kept avoiding our table and speeding past), THEY TELL US THEY'VE RUN OUT OF EVERYTHING!!! Owner finally shows up at 22 30, proposes sautéed prawn. I ask about our food, saying we've ordered main course since 18 00 and didn't get any fish at all despite them saying it's coming (other tables got their orders, we confirmed). He rudely replies, that's all they have, take it or leave it. What a DISAPPOINTMENT... we were so eagerly looking forward to enjoy a nice bottle of whisky and dinner among friends. Ended up eating the Satini Brinzel with bread to make up for the lack of food! By 23 00 they were already chasing us out of the place!!! Disgusting customer service I feel like we wasted our money, time and a quality bottle there. AN UTTER SHAME

Food is great and price is good too. However the service is a bit slow. Sometimes orders are missed out and delayed.

Don't expect a restaurant, this is a tavern eating joint with everything that goes with it. The one thing is their food is top class. Small menu and limited to fish, calamari and salads, but cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is just like a tavern, nothing fancy but a certainty I will be back. I love this style and I've eaten at top larney restaurants but this certainly is at my top list.

Tbh, it seemed like there wasn't ANY. We tried other cocktails as well, and none of them seemed to have alcohol inside. What's the point of paying more for a cocktail when you could order some fruit juice and get the same thing? But the worst was the beer. Did you guys dilute those with water? This is shameful. People know what beer tastes like, and it doesn't taste like that, no matter the brand/type/origin. This was the worst nighttime entertainment experience I've had.

What a horrible experience ordering pizzas from Backstage. Ordered at 5.30pm (should take a maximum of 1hr) to receive it past 7.30pm. My order was messed up and I got pizzas I did not order instead of those I asked for. The pizzas came half the size of the takeaway box and half the size of a pizza which would have been served to me should I have gone to eat there…it wouldn’t have been an issue if the price as well had been halved. No apology, no accountability and certainly pure arrogance from this service. I do not recommend AT ALL. Having known and enjoyed Backstage service over the years, I am truly disappointed by this fall in quality to which they seem to remain happily oblivious to.

Horrible experience. I went there, sat for 20mins without any waiter coming around. There were used glasses on my table for which I had to call a waiter 3 times to come clear the table. I would have understood if the bar was full, there was barely anyone. For the price we pay for the drinks and for the name of the place, I would expect a decent service. But service quality was despicable.

Quite disappointing to be honest. The setting and pool are five star. It is like dining in a five star hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was not five star. The fillet steak was over cooked and the quality of the meat wasn't great and quite fatty. The service was average and the menu was quite limited.

BU that quickly changed: the service and the kitchen is a joke. in terms of service, well...as usual on this island, it's slow. but whats worse than slow (and to be honest this applies to almost every single restaurant here, low or high priced) is the lack of attention. the waitresses brought us drinks once (when we arrived) but never asked us again during the entire dinner. the plates of the starters and bread in the beginning were still on the table, and so on. i would not mind in a smaller place but with their price levels (every main above 20) i definitely expect everything to be on point. AND there were 3 tables out of 20 with guests, so it wasnt even busy AT ALL. APART from that, the food (quite pricey, but fairly big portions) sounded good on the menu, but in reality it was dull, nicely put. the red snapper was so dry that it couldnt be eaten, the curry on top was raw curry powder, oversalted and with no taste at all. the fish was in the ofen for probably twice or 3 times the time it should. things as stated in the menu were missing on the actual plate. the rice that came with the steak was watery and soft and completely salty. the nasi goreng was 80% soaky tasteless unsalted rice with hard dry shrimp, chewy bits of chicken and beef and and an overall dull flavour. the tuna starter had no taste at all, and i was fixing myself tatakis almost every day, the quality of the fish wasnt good either, it looked colorless. same with the palmheartsalad, no dressing or salt or vinaigre or whatever was missing, it tasted like paperwaste. the king prawns were so ridiculously dry that we started laughing when tasting. the ossobuco was served with soft spaghetti instead of al dente tagliatelle and with a dull tomatosauce instead of a parsley garlic sauce, and so on. incredible. i've never seen or put stuff in my mouth like this. we were 7 people with starter and main each, one main was ok ish, the rest was utterly disappointing. then we told the staff and they told the manager or cook or whoever and the said they wont charge us for the main courses, about 50% of the total consumption. the free bottle of champagne never arrived. so we thought ok thats's fair and nice and hopefully they do something about it and learn from their mistakes. kind of felt sorry back then BUT in the end they charged the full amount on our friends card, which he eventually discovered weeks later, and this made us go NUTS. one star is even too much and we should have listened to the locals who all warned us of going there. overpriced, bad service, even worse kitchen. what a shame.

I forgot my wallet and mobile phone there and only realised it when I got home after having such a blast. I never forget my phone or wallet anywhere. They kept it saefely and could collect it the next day. I am grateful to the owner and staff for their honesty and integrity. The first time we went it had a great atmosphere but was taken aback by a barlady's refusal to serve me a drink. She was polite enough but the drink just never materialized, while I watched her serve others while I watched. I look local so I don't know if that had something to do with it. We returned another time and my partner ordered the drinks instead and he got glowing smiles. Another time we went and got great service. The offendign lady was not there this time. I would highly recomment this venue for a great late night outing with friends to socialize and meet others form all walks of life, both local and international. Great decor and atmosphere with something for everyone.

I recently visited 'Saxo' and unfortunately had a negative experience with the security at the door. Despite removing the sand I had on me, which I understand is a valid concern, the security was still rude and denied me entry. Considering Saxo's location right in front of the beach, this seemed unreasonable and left a sour impression. I cannot recommend Saxo due to my recent experience with the rude security at the door. If the security lacks basic manners, I can only imagine how the staff inside might be. I strongly suggest Saxo to employ security personnel with minimum manners and education. As Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

One of the most horrific experiences we have had on any of our travels, and it’s shocking this place is still in business if this is how customers are treated.

We had a great time staying at Namaste Lounge! It’s a brand new apartment building so everything is quite new and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, and the nearest supermarket is just a 10 minute walk away. We loved walking to Pereybere main beach in the mornings, around the side there’s some nice snorkeling and it’s great for a swim. The apartment also has a nice pool, which we would use often. Cyndie was incredibly helpful and available to answer any questions or concerns, she even helped us get our visas sorted! Would recommend staying here!

I stayed at Namaste Lounge for a month while looking for longer term accommodation. Positive qualities - clean, close to amenities in Pereybere and lovely pool. Owners were very helpful and responded quickly to all needs or concerns. Room for improvement - mattresses should be changed (woke up most mornings laying in a hole), hot water needs to run for longer (if required) and smart tv’s to replace old ones.

Lovely little oasis in a good and quiet location with clean and modern flats, a really nice relaxation area with a beautiful swimming pool, and a very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Highly recommended, and I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Mauritius!
