Bar
Blue Ice Piano Bar is a popular spot in Sosua, Dominican Republic, known for its vibrant nightlife and lively atmosphere. Situated above sea level, it offers a unique setting with multicolored sands and beach huts. The bar attracts a diverse crowd with its good music, including legendary rock tunes, and friendly staff. It's a great place to unwind and socialize while enjoying the company of the welcoming hostesses.
My first time in the Sosua Dec 8 to 11, I stumbled across The Blue Ice. When I tell you that I loved everything about it, I loved Everything about it. I found my spot for my stay there. All the hostess was attentive and welcoming, even security gave you that, “you’re safe here feel”. The music was a great mixture of Hip Hop/R&B/Latino. The hookah was great and inexpensive. I look so forward to visiting here again soon.

Blue Ice Club is one of the liveliest spots in Sosúa and a must-visit if you’re looking for nightlife, music, and a fun atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is upbeat—great music, colorful lights, and a crowd that knows how to enjoy the night. The DJs keep the energy high with a mix of Latin beats, international hits, and local favorites. The dance floor is always full, and it’s the perfect place to meet people from around the world while still enjoying that authentic Dominican party spirit. The drinks are reasonably priced and well-made, with plenty of options from cocktails to premium bottles. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick, which makes a big difference when the club is packed. Security is visible and professional, which made the experience feel safe and comfortable. Whether you want to dance all night or just enjoy a few drinks in a vibrant setting, Blue Ice Club delivers. If you’re in Sosúa and want to experience the nightlife, this is definitely a place to check out.
Rosalba W — Google review
If you're from the USA or anywhere in the States, I don't recommend this place at all. Honestly, it's been the worst experience of my life. The music was barely enjoyable, and the food was awful. We need to warn others who travel from the U.S. hoping to have a good time, only to be met with terrible music, a ghetto atmosphere, and an overall unpleasant experience. The service is terrible too. The bottle girl even touched my man, which was uncomfortable and completely disrespectful.
YORJALY D — Google review
If you're Dominican and looking to enjoy a hookah or a nice drink, don't even bother coming to this bar. It's terrible. The music is awful—they barely play Dominican music, and it's mostly English songs. The food is bad, really bad, not even decent. On top of that, they give you a hookah that someone else has already used, not even a new one. I came all the way from Florida to enjoy my culture and music, not to deal with this nonsense.
Yorjaly S — Google review
Great bar, excellent food , Thai style , good music, nice VIP area ...fantastic service. Super safe . Bottle service is cheap (look through the photos here I added photos of the menu prices ) you get VIP area included free of charge ! Best way to do this place !.. great night out ..
ENJOYING ( — Google review
This place is a small hole in the wall. It's a hit or miss. Gets crowded quickly. Mixture of locals & tourists. The DJ mixes both to tourists and locals. Beer is pretty pricey. I walked to the bar for a Corona instead of it being bought to me by one of the many waitresses. It is not on my top bars to visit again 👎🏾
Ray B — Google review
If you’re looking for a bar with super loud music, no pianos, bad service, horrible food, and super high prices… I’d love to introduce you to this sub par bar.
Bonnie S — Google review
Went here for first time. More of a younger person spot hookah bar. But the hostesses there are all 8's!!! Beautiful and friendly young ladies.... You need to stop by just to chill and get to know the hosts!

Bar & grill
Jolly Roger Bar and Grill is a local pub in the heart of Sosua, Dominican Republic, catering to Canadians and Americans. The owners are known for their hospitality and accommodating nature. The bar hosts themed events like bingo, darts, and board games throughout the week. Guests can enjoy a variety of food options at great prices, including Canadian favorites like meatball subs. On Sundays, they offer guest chef nights for RD$250.
If you’re in Sosúa and craving some comfort food, Jolly Roger’s is the spot. Their chicken wings are hands-down some of the best around. They are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and loaded with flavor. Whether you go classic buffalo, BBQ, or one of their signature sauces, you won’t be disappointed. Pair that with an ice cold beer and the laid back vibe of the place, and it’s the perfect recipe for a great night out. Friendly service, fun atmosphere, and consistently good food – can’t go wrong with Jolly Roger’s.
Rodney — Google review
This bar and grill is right in the heart of Sosua, very casual and is owned by Canadians. The prices are all very reasonable. The bad thing is the food was not that good. We both had fish and chips and you literally have one fish which is pretty much all batter and it was over cooked. The oil is quite old, you can just taste it from the fish as well as the fries. I also saw other patrons order and they also did not look appetizing. I guess you get what you pay for. Will definitely not go back.
Emma G — Google review
I've eaten here 2x and really enjoyed it. Canadian owned and frequented. The owner and his wife are there and friendly and will sit down and talk to you. We enjoyed their food. They have things like bingo nights and it seems a nice part of a nice community.

Great place where xpats hang out. Always lots of things going on, bingo, darts, karaoke, and the newly wed game toname a few. Good food and drinks in the heart of Sosua.

I had a great time at the Jolly Roger Bar in Sosua! It’s a fun spot right in the middle of the strip (Pdo Clisante) with reasonable prices and a really nice atmosphere. I enjoyed a couple of cold beers and some tasty snacks, and what really stood out to me was the super friendly staff – they really make you feel welcome. Another big plus for me was the WiFi. It’s fast, stable, and reliable, which made it perfect for streaming and watching my games on my tablet without any issues. That’s something I really appreciate when traveling. All in all, great location, great people, good food and drinks, and excellent WiFi. Definitely a place I’d recommend and will be coming back to! Besos de Holanda por el staff 🇳🇱💋🇩🇴

A fabulous bar owned by great Canadian people. The service was 20/10, unbelievably good :) An amazing vibe. Really enjoyed our visit while in Sousa! The wings were amazing and the music was fun :)

Restaurant
Margot Restaurant in Sosua, Dominican Republic is a popular spot known for its diverse menu and great tasting dishes. Visitors rave about the vegetarian pizza and commend the good service. The restaurant offers a wide range of options including pasta, sushi, and more. The food is described as succulent and the service as fantastic, making it a must-visit dining destination in Sosua.
We visited not once but twice and would go back again and again if I could! Highly recommend!! The pizzas we had were amazing. The fish and chips, although not what I expected were plentiful, delicious and i couldn't even finish! Take out boxes for leftover pizza were offered and even a to-go cup for my coke. Very affordable and a vaste menu. Have a mojito if you can! You won't be disappointed!! The servers were adorable and I really have nothing bad to say about Margots! If you're in Sosua, you really should go!
Maureen M — Google review
The service was exceptional and we really enjoyed the food. The 3 stars is because the amount we were charged, and the amount written on the menu did not match. We were told that they have recently updated their prices... someone just needs to throw out any old menus, so the mistake doesn't happen again.
Jane B — Google review
We went here for the first time for my son 18th birthday. He ordered the Mahi and my other son ordered the grouper. They said it was really good but the portion of fish was tiny for the price. My youngest son ordered the fish and chips and he actually got a good amount and it was really good. We also ordered 2 pizza and they were really good. Overall we really liked it and will go back but we won’t order the mahi or grouper again. Service was great and atmosphere was great!
Krystal M — Google review
One of the best spots in the Sosua area about 10 minutes walk to the beach. The place is inviting, the staff very cheerful - treats you like family - Dominican hospitality at its finest. Food is great and they have a book of a menu with pasta, pizza, some Asian options and more. We tried the farfelle with chicken and pesto - it was mind-blowingly delicious. We also tried the Indian Thali (imagine a vibrant culinary canvas that transports you through the diverse flavors of India with every tantalizing bite, picture a gleaming metal plate, an artist's palette adorned with an array of sumptuous dishes, each brimming with history, tradition, and an explosion of spices - that's Thali for you) - plenty food for 1 person. We also tried the flan and the apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert - both were heavenly. The flan was perfect - firm, great texture on the inside - slightly on the sweeter side. Overall a great experience - don't miss it.
Avinash K — Google review
Over the years Margo's restaurant has been hit and miss. Like most other places in sosua the food is not consistent and way overpriced. I would recommend eating here in the off-season as it is one of the places most often used. The staff are always friendly.
Denver S — Google review
The place has gone down. My date’s seafood soup was extremely fishy. They probably put in it whatever leftover seafood they had left in the restaurant whether it was fresh or not. My filet mignon was seared on the outside and completely raw inside. Not rare - raw. It was only seared without cooking it in the oven to get to the correct internal temperature. I showed the waiter that it was completely raw. He just took it away. No replacement was offered, nor refund. Shrimp cocktail was ok with very small shrimps. Pecan pie with ice cream was delicious.
Pasha G — Google review
Top of the line in Sosua. The food here is excellent, the service very good, and I love eating in the back dining room with its modern artwork. Tuna tartar, caprese salad are great choices to start. Love the churassco and the camarones ajillo.

Stipped in for a quick bite before I needed to be at the airport. Probably shiuld have explored this menu a little more whil I was there as the food was solid! Drinks could have been better but overall I was pleased!

Rumba Bar and Grill is a vibrant hotspot that perfectly captures the essence of local culture in Sosua. With its lively atmosphere, guests can dive into the rhythms of salsa and merengue, either by taking lessons from talented instructors or simply enjoying captivating performances while sipping on a refreshing Presidente beer. The venue comes alive with the beats of International DJ Anthony Bad Habits on weekends, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the nightlife.
I always make sure to try the jerk chicken with rice and beans at this restaurant. The jerk chicken is seasoned well and has a lot of flavor. The rice and beans are also excellent. The avocados are always fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and the music is great. This restaurant is a perfect spot to unwind and hang out with friends and family. I highly recommend it!

Nestled in Sosua, this vibrant hotspot is a haven for gambling enthusiasts, offering a variety of games such as slot machines, poker, blackjack, and roulette. The atmosphere buzzes with excitement as you sip drinks from the open bar while enjoying the thrill of risk-taking alongside friends. Recently remodeled to enhance its charm and luxury feel, Coral Reef Casino ensures that every visit is memorable.
Nice small gym. It has everything you need to work out 💪🏾 $200 pesos for a day pass. $50 pesos for a clean towel. I suggest you take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Can't say I did not warn you...lol. The staff was very nice & helpful.

Very skecthy/ dirty place and very small place. Been to a few casinos in DR decide to pop in to drop a few $$ with the wife. First off all machines were full and a bunch broke down. Decided to try one and a local guy pushed me out of way sat in chair without putting money in like you arent using this machine kinda look. Went to other machine with wife local spanish gal started yipping at me in spanish which made us feel highly uncomfortable. I dont mind sharing and understand its the local's country. Get it. But I would think the casino would like tourist dollars not drive them away. Had a great experince at the one by the Marien in Puerto Plata in March. I personally would stay away from this one if you are from out of country.

Wow was great staff and security was great very fun helpful staff a must see place definitely will be back next year
John B — Google review
Be careful with the ATM in the Casino. Always choose "Decline Conversion". You want your bank to do the conversion, and not the ATM. If you look at the photo, if I accepted the conversion, they would have charged me $204USD for 10555RDP. However, my bank, charged me $181USD. It's a $23 difference: more than 10%. They use those kind of ATMs in Eastern Europe, and it seems they have made their way into DR. Be aware. I also use Charles Schwab, which pays me back the 555RDP back as an ATM rebate. You can google which banks refund ATM fees. There are plenty.

Velvet Café, located in Sosua's El Batey, is a top party choice with its friendly staff and great selection of wine and drinks. The café offers a complete menu including American breakfast, and the presentation of the food is impressive. Customers have praised the amazing service and delicious tres golpe dish. The Dominican Sweet latte has been described as a sweet surprise with just the right amount of sweetness. The café has an upscale and hipster vibe with beautifully decorated food and drinks.
The entire experience was amazing, the service, the staff, and of course the food! Presentation is everything here, I was really impressed. There was food on the menu that I wanted to try but because the tres golpe was so good I got the same thing the next morning. The Dominican Sweet latte was a sweet surprise and the perfect amount of sweet. When I originally ordered it I was not expecting the syrup and cookie crumble around the rim as shown in the picture but wow, it was everything I didn’t know I needed. Thank you again Velvet Cafe!

Its a hidden gem alright. Went there today with my wife/ daugther around 1100 am and couldnt find it. Appeared to be tarps hanging in front of location. Not sure how/ were all these recent reviews came from but they are very misleading. If someone can prove this location is actually open I will be more than happy to change up my review. Pains me to say this, as the place is nicely decorated and quiet, and the staff seemed nice and attentive, but definitely the worst breakfast of our trip. Ordered the Desayuno Americano...typical eggs, bacon and potatoes. Fried eggs were so over cooked that they resembled hard boiled, potatoes were so salty I couldn't eat them, and bacon maybe it was OK, but several pieces had a gray color and we didn't eat it as we were getting on a plane later in the day. Sorry.

Im from the US and I visited DR for 7 days and this was one of the places we visited. There was no cover charge but waitress seems like she had an attitude when we asked for drinks. I loved the diversity and to listen to the music from there culture and then the also played wrap much. Girls Girls Girls trying to go home with people. It was very entertaining defiantly for the men that were with us. All in all it was a great experience and when I visit next year I will be going back!!!

The only club I have been in Sosua for a few minutes. Cover was 200 RD$. Makes no sense requesting the beverage list as there is either none or the waitresses don't want to show it - they pointed at the bottles in the back ... far from being customer friendly and professional. Later in the night there was a brawl or something alike just in front of this location.

Baileys in Sosua is known for its Baileys colada and occasional pizza. While the prices are considered high, the drinks and food are generally well-liked. However, recent reports suggest that the waitstaff may have developed a negative attitude towards customers, which has led to disappointment among patrons. One customer had an unpleasant experience when they left a generous tip but did not receive their change back. This incident has caused them to vow never to return to the establishment.
Excellent locasian comma food is good period prices are fair and services generally good. Having the hotel and the sky lounge there is an added benefit plus the car wash out back

Outdoor Activities
Sosua Beach is a picturesque bay with calm, clear waters and a sandy shoreline that attracts divers. The area has an interesting history, once being a banana plantation with a shipping port that closed in the late 1930s. During the height of the Nazi regime, Sosua became a haven for Jewish refugees thanks to an initiative by DORSA.
One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen in the Dominican republic. When you walk in, it looks a little sketchy, but there’s a ton of shops. We felt safe the entire time most of the shops are covered by trees, but the beach is beautiful and the sunsets are amazing. Plus the Clearwater definitely recommend. We did have to pay to sit close to the water. And we did have a lot of vendors approaching us. But it wasn’t a problem for us. We enjoyed the experience we enjoyed sitting close to the water in our server was very friendly. If you ask for Roberto, he’ll definitely take care of you. He is further down on the beach.

Great beach, plenty of affordable activities, be aware of the many solicitors and vendors everyone appears to inflate price for foreigners, or wants a cut, or deal.

Awesome place to relax and drink a cold coconut water. It was August and the water was irresistible! Warm gentle waves. Not crowded during the week. A few pesky sellers floating around but doesn't ruin it.

Fun day to spend on the beach. You can watch the many boats or get on a charter party or fishing, snorkel, dive boat very easy. Theres a pathway that runs parallel with many resturants, bars and vendors selling t-shirts, bathing suits, coverups etc and lots if tourist items as well as cigars. Can be somewhat annoying as each area has people right in your face to go into their place even after you say no gracias ive shopped or eaten already. They will jump on you right from the parking lot for services which can be helpful 1st time. I just say give me your whatsapp and when ready ill call. Thus the drop in stars and for toilets. Cost us 800 pesos for beach loungers for 2. (Nov, 2024) even though we ate and had the famous pins colada in a pineapple. (SO good and filling) they tell you beach chairs are separate service but we paid the same guy. Washrooms are pretty bad at our resturant no seat and sign says no caca. I asked how my wife would go they showed me a napkin and wiping motion so shes expected to sit on the piss soaked rim. There are main washrooms near front for 25 pesos but not much better my wife said but also showers. It can be quite busy good day for people watching If this review helps you please give a like

Beautiful views, nice sand, clean, teeming with sea life, a good selection of amenities (at tourist prices). The entrance feels sketchier than the beach, with lots of abandoned shops near the start. We didn't feel like paying for beach chairs so we sat a little bit off the main part of the beach and no one bothered us about it. We learned the hard way that we should have checked the wind direction and swell before going to make sure we could enjoy the water. North and Northeast winds will affect your ability to swim and snorkel. When we were there no one was allowed to swim because the swell was over 1.2 meters. Fair enough, their job is to keep people safe. Still kind of disappointing because we wanted to go swimming. Still a nice outing.

One of my favourite beaches. Drone with Cesar.

In this beach you can watch the best sunset in the north cost. It’s an open place, There are littler restaurants and chairs, to have the chairs and the umbrellas is a payment extra. Best place to relax.
Starlin C — Google review
It is still a lovely beach.... Buuuuutttt.. parking is now 250 pesos (apparently due to the Sosúa "revitalization")! I went in a low season so I understand everybody was a little desperate to make ends meet, but the pressure from many vendors was awful. I'm from Puerto Plata. It had been 4 years since I to Sosúa beach... It may be another 4.

Mango Tropical Restaurant is a chic establishment offering high-end women's fashion and accessories. The restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some patrons praising the friendly service and delicious cocktails, while others have expressed concerns about the quality of certain dishes. Despite this, many visitors have commended the professional and amiable staff, as well as the overall dining experience. The restaurant is known for its outstanding chop house offerings that rival those found in New York City.
We were taken here for dinner last night. This is pretty much on the corner of Martinez b4 you hit Playa Alicia in the town of Sosua. The restaurant is a streak house and did they ever have a lot of selection of steak cuts depending on how hungry you are. 3 of the 4 of us did order steak meals and they were all very satisfied. I myself had the Grilled salmon with shrimp and that was also very good. We will go back once again for sure
Emma G — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of trying the salmon over rice with shrimp dinner, and the food did not disappoint! The salmon was perfectly cooked: tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The shrimp were juicy and had a great flavor. The huge downside to the experience was the atmosphere. While I was eating, an employee was playing around and making quite a bit of noise. Even after asking them to stop, it continued. The food is great, but for a fine dining restaurant, I expect the staff to be much more professional. I hope they correct this problem, as the food was awesome
Rod W — Google review
I had the Tenderloin steak w/ shrimp. I forgot to take a picture. However, it had tons of flavor steak cooked perfectly. Also had the pure pleasure of having Erika as host/waitress with the most intoxicating smile and playful personality. Had bunch of knowledge of the menu which came in handy as it's a decent size. Should you have the pleasure having her your dining experience will be superb!

We had a wonderful new years eve dinner here. It was packed but managed to get in for a table of 3 without a reservation. By far the best steak we have had in many years. This is up there with top steak places like the Capital grill or Golden Steer, (Las Vegas), Black n' Blue, Hy's, etc. This is the kind of steakhouse where you leave wondering how The Keg can even call themselves a steak restaurant! We had two cuts of tenderloin and my husband had the churrasco. His churrasco was a little smaller than what he has eaten at the Beach club at Sea horse ranch in Sosua, but he said it was really good. Overall, a wonderful experience for our first time there. We've been wanting to go for so long and glad to have chosen a special night out to make it happen. It came to 5750RD- $140CDN ($100US) for 2, 6oz tenderloins, a churrasco meal with baked potato/ roasted potato, 3 glasses of wine, strawberry/banana smoothie- better (and bigger) than Bailey's smoothies, as my son proclaimed! included salad bar and coffees. In Canada, for steak of that quality, wine, etc.., would have been over $225. I would much rather spend $995RD on their juicy tenderloin than the equivalent price for a chicken skewer meal at Bailey's (for example). Thank you to all the staff at Mango's. Keep up all the great work. 🥰 🥩

Mango’s is hands down our favorite restaurant in Sosúa! We absolutely love the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, it’s always a great experience every time we go. The steak is the best in town, and the quality and consistency of the dishes never disappoint. From start to finish, Mango’s delivers on every level. Our whole family loves it. Highly recommend!
Katherine H — Google review
Mixed feelings about this place. Beautiful friendly hostess showed me to the table. Shrimp cocktail was ok, although the shrimps were a little small for cocktail. The fillet mignon I have an issue with. The meet itself was not USDA Prime, but it did not cost like USDA Prime. 1200 pesos for 8oz. So it was fine. However, they serve it on a hot cast iron plate. Sizzling. Guess what happens to your steak? That's right, it keeps on cooking. By the time I was half done my medium rare became very well done. I have told the waitress to tell the chef not to serve it like that in the future. She was defensive saying that it was the signature of the place. Well, signature or not, a good steakhouse chef should know that you can overcook a steak in seconds. Leaving it on a hot cast iron plate that retains heat very well, you might as well serve shoe leather. It is ok for fajitas with skirt steak, but not for your ribeye or fillet mignon. Be aware of that.

The restaurant hosts “Happy Hour”, has VIP seats, and plenty, I mean , plenty of televisions (with one being a projection screen)! Everyone gets a “front row” feeling when watching a sports match. Washrooms are clean, the bar food & drinks are reasonably priced and it’s the atmosphere that will want you to go back again and again. Cheers!

I really can't share my review for the food because I went for lunch and apparently they don't serve lunch til 3pm. Then at 3pm I ordered chicken wings from the extensive menu of about 5 items. I was told the wings were frozen and not available. I have a feeling this place won't be around much longer. I was right. Out of business and for sale.

Cheers is a great place for all ages. Great service and weekly local and visiting live entertainment. The book nook just immediately next to it lends it's services in day time hours. Their kitchen is very good and well maintained. Domingo the top dog always welcomes you personally whether you are new ot old hat. Great place to go. The kind of place you will remember and return.

They charged me a hundred pesos almost $2 for a small plastic Sprite bottle. I don't drink alcohol so I thought to stop in for a moment but I made a mistake I won't be back here again when someone deliberately gouges prices it's not a place that I would want to patronize. However lots of people in here and I really excellent band. I think if you're a drunk person this would be a great place for you.

Bar Central und Restaurant Schlemmerstube is a popular spot in Sosua, known for its great food and affordable prices. The restaurant offers a welcoming ambiance and is situated in a lively street at the heart of the city. Visitors from all over the world gather here to enjoy drinks and conversations. The owner, hailing from Germany, is known for being friendly and hospitable to customers.
AMAZING 100% GENUINE GERMAN RESTAURANT ! It has everything you need and could possibly like. The restaurant has a very welcoming ambiance and is located in a very animated street in the center of Sosua. People from all around the world sit there drink and talk together and the owner, from Germany, is really friendly and knows how to treat his customers. Even though I am not complicated at all when it comes to food, Dominican "cuisine" is not what you can call a very elaborated one. I was getting tired of fried chicken rice and bananas and the DR was a real challenge when it came to find healthy and tasty food. In this Restaurant I found my "EL DORADO" and went there day and night during all my trip in Sosua. They have everything, from Wiener Schnitzel, German Potatoe Salad, goulash, German sausages, Spaghetti, Burgers, a choice of well cooked Asian dishes such as chop suey and Chao fan with curry/coco. Not to forget : German Beer ! Prices and quality are just EXCELLENT and all the dishes I tried there were simply delicious. Service is quick and staff very friendly. Food Is "UP TO GERMAN STANDARDS" ! I highly recommend this place where even a lone traveler will find nice company. A big thank you to the owner and his local team. Keep up the good work.

Average schnitzel. Tough and not seasoned. Tasted of old oil. Fries without seasoning. Ketchup was a knock off brand. Mustard bottle had Ketchup on the spout and the bottom of spout was dirty. Had to get my own menu and get my own check. Seems like a place older white men hang out to meet women of the night.

There is a thing i can't understand since it make bo sense for me . So today was a one of the rare days i need to have icecream , so i ordered a big pot oft the expensive stuff ;-) start to order and after 3 different icecram the lady says oh no you only may choose 3 different kinds . Please give me a reasonable explanation for that . what different does it make if i choose 1 3 or 5 ? Dont get me wrong i was not planning to choose 10 different kinds and i would understand i cant , but realy , 3 sorry no understading for that . so deeply frustrated i left with 2 kindsless i did like to have and no i will not buy one pot more . Small secluded beach. Go at low tide so there is more beach. Torrential rain washed away a lot of the sand so it's a big drop from the access point to the sand/water. From the access if you work your way across to the left there is a relatively easy climb down. Very pretty. Looks dangerous with strong waves and sharp volcanic rocks so take due care.

We recommend booking directly with them vs Viator. A weather event resulted in our excursion being cancelled and Viator did not notify in advance so we wasted 3 hours of our day traveling to the location. Upon arrival the company itself was very nice and helpful.

Our group rented this boat for a full day. It is not as nice as it looks in the photos. Somehow we paid way more per person than advertised. They told us it was a 30 minute trip from our hotel and it was actually 1.5 hours. The bathrooms were disgusting and didn't have toilet seats which made it impossible for the women, they also didn't flush. The staff was nice at first but a few hours in they were sleeping under the bar and upstairs. They did not bring enough liquor or mixers for the drinks. When they made lunch they served their staff first and then the group later. We were supposed to have 3 stops but after 1 stop they brought us back to the original beach and anchored there for 2 hours. They didn't do anything to entertain and we seemed like an inconvenience. We ended our time on the boat 4 hours early despite how much we paid. All of these complaints are easy fixes and I hope they do. No offer for partial refund. As of now I would not recommend to anyone .

Our scheduled pick-up time was 7:40 AM, but no one ever showed up. We waited until 9:00 AM without hearing a single update from them. They said a bus was on the way. They never showed up. I tried calling, no answer. Waited around until 10:00 AM when we finally got a response, we were told the trip had been canceled due to “bad waves.” This was an obvious lie. The weather was perfect and the water at Playa Alicia and Sosua Beach was calm and clear—ideal conditions for a boat outing. To make matters worse, when we later spoke with another catamaran company on the beach, they told us the real reason: the boat we booked had broken motors and was not operational. This is unacceptable. We had even messaged the company the night before to confirm everything, and they still didn’t notify us of any problems. There was zero communication, and then they lied instead of taking responsibility. This wasn’t just any outing, it was part of our wedding celebrations, with 30 of our closest friends and family looking forward to this experience. What should’ve been a highlight of our trip turned into a huge letdown. If you’re looking for reliability, honesty, or basic professionalism—look elsewhere. Here’s 2 screenshots of them lying about the water, not willing to reschedule, and a video of the catamaran from the other company we went on to prove the water and conditions were calm and perfect for a sailing.

Terrible experience for my co-ed bachelorette! Started off with them not helping my friend on the boat while having a huge nail sticking out under the loading area. From the boat we took her to get 7 stitches because the cut was that deep! They brushed it under the rug, first mistake. The food advertised and paid for, was not fully provided and what was provided was a cheap version of what is advertised. Next, we were stranded at the first stop because their boat died and they lied to us the whole time! Tried to cover it up, EVERYONE in my group ended up seasick because we were rocking in the same spot for over an hour while they sent someone out to buy a new battery. Since they had no power, there was also NO MUSIC on a PARTY BOAT! Like, WHAT?! They had us sitting in silence and the boat just rocking bath and forth for closer to an hour & 1/2. When they finally brought the new battery and took us to the “last stop” they just stopped and never offered for us to use the snorkeling equipment or just jump into the ocean. Horrible communication! The cake they offer, they came out to sing me happy birthday, but I was the bride. My fiancé was standing next to me feeling very small. How can they make that mistake when it was booked for a bach?! The hookah, DISGUSTING and a waste of money, don’t bother! I reached out to management, they pretended to care for a few messages. Once I explained the extent of my concerns, I never heard from them again. It was an awful experience all around and I DO NOT recommend it.

My fiancé booked this company for his bachelor party. As he began to climb back onto the boat from the water, their entire metal ladder fell on his face. My fiancé now has a row of stitches across his possibly broken nose. This company refuses to take any responsibility for their unsafe and dangerous equipment and will not reimburse him for not even a penny of what he paid, which tells me that this company does not value the safety of their customers.

We had a birthday party tour with a small group of friends and it was just a wonderful experience! Everything was very professional, from the moment of reserving a tour till our transfer back home. We got a detailed information to all our questions from the office. The team of catamaran was very friendly, the food was fresh and tasty and a water slide was a fun beyond our expectation!

Don’t bother even considering them the most unprofessional business I’ve ever met… everything was very professional and pleasant until the week of the event arrived… they openly disclosed that they overbooked and wanted to change our reservation however due to prior engagements we couldn’t do any other day… the day of the event we pay private transportation and when we got there first they change our reservation time then they tell us that due to an inconvenience they needed to cancel without even bothering to try to work around it … I told them it had to be today because people were traveling back the next day…then he calls back and says that he went ahead and rented another boat to accommodate us and asked us to wait longer well after that he just sent a message that it was cancelled no explanations or sorry nothing…. The girl who we were communicating with the entire time stopped even responding to us… this was a very special event for my husband and I to which my entire family traveled for…. So please reconsider if you’re trying to book with them they are not reliable and will use every excuse in the book to cancel on you last minute … now let’s pray they actually reimburse the deposit

Great beer selections! It’s a great atmosphere and there’s a food park! This is a great place to go if you want to have a bigger selection of beers and also want food options. There is also an axe throwing station. They have corn hole and good music. It’s a great place to go and enjoy some drinks and some activities. Nice little hideaway on a calm street. Customer service can be slow when they’re busy.

Updated: March 28, 2024: The owner contacted me personally and explained the hiccup with their new bottling process. They sent me fresh replacement bottles and this time both the beers - the Belgian white and the American Pale Ale - poured perfectly (latest pic with two wine glasses) and had the same great taste I experienced in the brewery. Definitely recommended and I wish this brewery all the best with their new bottling process. *********************************** I am torn with this one. First, I was so excited to see a craft brewery in Sosua. Tried all their beers and all of them were decent, a couple of them are really great - the stout and the IPA specially. The Belgian white, the blond and brown ales had good aroma and were decent light and refreshing tasting beers. Since I liked their beers, I decided to take some to go - they had two bottled beers - the Belgium white and the American Pale Ale. When I opened the bottles back at my hotel, they poured super foamy - literally most of it was foam which spilled and I was left with a few sips of beer which tasted sour - so was mostly infected probably with some wild yeast or bacteria after it was bottled. Hence the low rating on this review. I do recommend visiting this brewery and trying their beers onsite - but be warned if you plan to buy their bottled beers. Overall, the ambience is welcoming and the staff is great.

So happy to find craft beer in the DR, great brewery, very friendly staff. Had a flight with Blond Ale(light tasting, quite refreshing), Amber Ale(similar to Blond with more flavour, but not as strong as Amber's in Canada, was good for me, as not big in Amber beers), Pale Ale(decent flavour, but not as flavourful as my fave, Great Lakes Brewery Canuck Pale Ale), lastly the IPA(good flavour, not too hoppy, if you are afraid of IPAs it's a good one to try). Definitely will be back!!

Such a fun little local place. Run by expatriots from Canada. They were warm and gave us great recommendations. Drinks were inexpensive and if you want a treat ask for their chocolate rum. Amazing. Canadian/ Expat Bar (English music) Fun place with good live music (Fridays 4-7pm when we were there, check FB they are active on it), when the live music is playing it has the atmosphere of being at the campsite with friends and a guitar sing all of the favourites (Rock, Country) Gets super busy when they have a band be prepared to stand or try and reserve a table.
