Can't really comment on the food. Waitress got the order wrong. Food takes quite a while to arrive so ran out of time to get the actual dish I ordered. Mistakes happen... I don't blame anyone (although it was avoidable by just confirming it). Initially they apologised but then they doubled down by being rude when went to pay for drinks. First and last time I'll go here. Do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else, you might even get someone polite serving you.

I've travelled the world and been to a number of coffee shops during my travels, and for now I'm settled in Banská Bystrica. Black Coffee is easily my favorite coffee shop in the whole town. It has an industrial yet comfortable feel to it with the wooden tables and leather chairs. They have a wonderful selection of coffee, wines, and my favorite beer in all Slovakia (and most places in the world) ERB. Which has its brewery about an hour away. The staff is friendly and it's an all around enjoyable place I love to sit at to read, do calligraphy, or just relax.

Probably the most amazing place and space (of a hipster sensitivity, luckily without too much attitude and fake style) in Banska Bystrica and one of the best of its kind in Slovakia. A huge garden decorated with art installations, a culture space, outside concerts, inside theater, nice craft beers, excellent cakes (if any), pretty friendly staff (that does not hunt you outdoor to order on and on - which is a welcome change of concept) ... all wrapped between old brick walls, trees with obligatory lightbulbs, or even the urban garden patches.
