Tatralandia is a year-round water park that offers both indoor and outdoor pools, thrilling rides, and various slides. It's an ideal destination for a hot summer day with its fun rides, water slides, tubing wave pool, and wave machine. The park also features a children's pool to keep the little ones entertained. Additionally, during winter when skiing conditions are unfavorable, Tatralandia serves as a great alternative with access available using skipass.
The water park is very cool and very big. There are many water slides and many pools. There is also an indoor part of the water park but the bigger part is the outdoor one. The water park is in a beautiful spot. Where you see the beautiful mountain scenery. The water park is a little crowded but is still great.

Fantastic place to go with our boys of 8, 9 and 12 yrs old. With so many slides you can gradually build up the difficulty level. Personal favorite: Flamingo. Also had some good food from the grill 😋 And enough parking space. Buy tickets online to get some discount 😉
Andries — Google review
If you enjoy feeling exploited – go there. The entrance tickets are outrageously overpriced, and the place is packed with thousands of people, creating enormous queues for the slides. For some unexplained reason, on most of the slides – especially those designed for kids – you’re forced to wait for an inflatable tube, which makes the wait even longer and more cumbersome. On the main slides, you can end up waiting over an hour (!) in line, and then spend more long minutes waiting again at the top. Everything moves painfully slowly and inefficiently. But the real nerve is what they call “Express Tickets.” For an extra €3 per person per slide, they let you skip the main line and go straight up to the slide queue itself. So, while you – who already paid dozens of euros to get in – wait endlessly in the “regular” line, dozens of people who paid more casually walk past you. For every 20 “express” guests, they let through maybe 1 or 2 who paid the already outrageous regular admission. They’re counting on you to give up and pay more. It’s basically extortion. In 8 hours at the park, the kids barely managed 7 slides in total, and altogether spent about 5–6 hours waiting in line. The food is expensive too, and the queues for food are just as unreasonable. We won’t be coming back, and we definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Oded M — Google review
The water park is huge and offers a wide variety of attractions, with something for everyone. The rides and activities were diverse and a lot of fun. Most of the attractions are outdoors, so weather can make a big difference. The only downside was that the major attractions had long waiting times. We visited on a sunny day, so it wasn’t too bad, but on colder days the wait could be less pleasant, especially for those not used to chilly weather.
Kobi C — Google review
This review is for the aquapark pools and slides, not the hotel. As we were not there The place is great and we spent the full day with kids, even though most of the slides were closed due to winter, it was still lots of fun and not crowded at all , October time
Michael G — Google review
Absolutely fantastic experience at Aqua Park Tatralandia! So many slides, pools, and attractions for every age. The water is warm, everything is clean, and the staff are super friendly. Perfect mix of fun and relaxation — a must-visit when in Slovakia. PS: There was a magician😂
Joe B — Google review
Visited Tatralandia Water Park today. The park is very large, with plenty of seating areas both outdoors and indoors. It can get extremely crowded, which may not be ideal for those who dislike crowds, but it offers a fun experience for most visitors above 120 cm in height. Only a few attractions require a minimum height of 140 cm. There are lockers available for storing belongings, and many restaurants on-site, though prices are relatively high, around €15 for a standard meal and €3 for drinks. The park has a wide variety of attractions and pools. We chose to visit mainly for the wave pools, but unfortunately, they were closed upon arrival. It’s possible to skip the long lines by paying €3 per ride, but this option isn’t available for all attractions and must be paid each time you want to skip the line. If you don’t bring a towel, you can rent one for €4. There is plenty of parking in the complex, including in the main lot.
Lior L — Google review
Unbelievably crowded! Right at the entrance, at every slide (it took even 55 mins today for one of them), at all restaurants in the peak lunch time, and finally a decent queue at the exit to pay the consumption. It's a pity, because the place has very good facilities and potential, it's just the unlimited visitors left in on such a peak day, which creates such a distress.

Lovely lake and beautiful scenery all around lower Tatra mountains. Plenty of hiking trails to choose from. Swimming is also possible in certain locations.

Great natural water, we spent time with our dog and kid, nice beach, warm water, we found private place close to Bobrovnik place. I really recommend this place for people with animals.

It was such a nice spot to camp, swim and do BBQ. The lake is very clean and clear. By the lake, we rented a mini peddle boat, 10€ per hour. And we had so much fun exploring the whole lake on our own foot! Great experience. Definitely recommend to drop by and swim in the lake.

Hurricane Factory Tatralandia is an exhilarating attraction that offers visitors the chance to experience the thrill of free fall, akin to jumping from a plane or cliff. This unique adventure is suitable for both adults and children aged five and up, all under the watchful eye of professional instructors. It's a fantastic family-friendly activity that promises fun and excitement for everyone involved.
Crowded. Airtime need to be booked far in advance. Pretty expensive. I also tried F1 simulator it was nice expirience

in one word PERFECT, nice and helpful staff, lots of fun, there really is nothing to complain about here Thank you!

Great tunnel, esp. If you do multiple sessions or even multiple days as the atmosphere around the tunnel is great. Esp the juice bar. Nothing better than watching others fly while you are chilling out inbetween sessions. Plus you can download your videos (2 camera's) later on. Bungalow and Water park next door to make a long stay really nice.

Outdoor Activities
Zoo Kontakt is an unconventional zoo in Slovakia that offers visitors the unique opportunity to have face-to-face encounters with various animals without barriers or fencing. The zoo provides supervised access to enclosures with lion and bear cubs, as well as an aviary and farm animals. Visitors can interact closely with a wide range of animals, including rabbits, goats, parrots, kangaroos, pelicans, emus, and more.
As a fan of zoo is general, I had to visit this one as it’s on my way, was no planned and located a sign on my way and went immediately. They gathered various of animals in one place, enjoyed myself seeing and taking pictures of animals and they way they designed each animal carrier is actually creative for me, as you can access a tunnel shape from the front to the middle of the carrier and you can see animals up close. Really recommend.
Fahad K — Google review
It was amazing a little bit scary at first, but then felt safe and in good hands. Unforgettable experience!
Miguel G — Google review
I really liked it. We were with children, we left the park last. I liked the environment, it's clean. I liked the animals, that you can get close to them, and some of the less dangerous ones you can pet. And the staff! Separate and fully deserved praise, everyone of them will tell you about the animals, answer questions. Patient, kind and smiling. Recommendation 100 percent.
Lina G — Google review
Great place to spend a day with kids, but interesting place even for the adults and animal lovers. Surroundings of the park is beautiful, colourful flowers are verywhere. You can get inside of some animal enclosure like rabbits, big turtles, snakes even the bears and learn a lot about animals from the staff. You can buy a food and feed some animals too. Apart of animals, there is a lot of others attractions inside as mirror maze, small train around ZOO, paddle boats for kids, carousel, electric cars, trampolines etc. Also there are places for refreshments, or for lunch, so you can spent here all day very easily.
Silvia C — Google review
Nice place—but not much more than that. The large animals—bears, tigers, and lions—look truly distressed in their small, enclosed cages. It felt downright cruel, and all for the sake of entertainment. On the positive side, the petting areas were genuinely pleasant. Petting rabbits was very nice, and so was the area where you could pet wild boars. Those experiences added a softer, friendlier touch to the visit. The little train ride may suit very young children. It departs every 30 minutes for a quick 8-minute loop. The problem is that the schedule is only posted inside the carriage—so there’s no way to know beforehand. We once sat on the train for 22 minutes, clueless as to why it wasn’t moving. And the birds near the train? Their screeching was absolutely deafening. We just wanted to escape that noise. Also, best avoided on hot days—this place doesn’t work well in the heat. Keep that in mind.
Ola T — Google review
You can be very close to the animals and have fun at the same time! The also have a train which goes through the Zoo. Restaurants and you get to see the waterpark slides at the same time! :-) The staff also speak different languages when the talk about animals.
M B — Google review
Excellent programe for 1-2 hours. You can get close with all the animals. Squirrels were running on our bodies, birds were landing on our arms and even heads. The staff is really nice, there is dedicated person for each animal, who tells you basic information and you can ask anything. I took my girlfriend here on her birthday she enjoyed it very much, recommend it for a date, if you like animals.
Gábor V — Google review
Great place, must see place on Slovakia map for all people who like animals. Staff is helpful and know a lot about those animals, they speak english if its needed. Decorations of whole city can bring You realu nice climate. Closeness of nature that You can feel.

Demänovská Ice Cave is a multi-level natural wonder carved by a river, featuring breathtaking ice formations such as columns, stalactites, and stalagmites. The cave offers guided tours through its icy chambers, providing visitors with an experience akin to walking into a freezer. While the inside temperature hovers around 0 degrees Celsius, the steep hike to the entrance warms up adventurers. It's advisable to dress warmly and watch out for slippery surfaces.
Amazing cave! The location is better indicated than other caves from the area, the guides are extremely considerated and well informed, the view point at the entrance is the best sight, sadly do not expect to see ice anymore but the cave is very spacious and has a strong identity. There are signs on the way toward the cave about biodiversity and history, also there is a sound and light mini show inside that is a great addition to the visit -Visit can be followed in various languages including english -cheap price -great location -family activity -good ambiance, and kind staff -the way up the cave is rough but don't worry, not long -the visit is 45min long but everything is explained very well Special thanks to Matus and Filip for their benevolence and help <3 Note about the surroundings : -"Demänovská jaskyna slobody" refers to the cave of liberty and "Demänovská l'adova jaskyna" refers to the ice cave (they are approximatively 2km away and reachable by foot) -do not try to walk from Liptovsky Mikulas, there are no sidewalk and the traffic is dense -Google don't mention it but there are bus (see picture) -what else to see around Liptovsky Mikulas : Liptovska Mara
Petite P — Google review
It was beautiful place. 8€ /1 hour for parking is a joke. Unfortunately, there was no ice inside. The informational content is available in several languages. Crew was nice. 👌
Tibor K — Google review
Demänovská Ice Cave was an unforgettable experience! We were amazed by the shimmering ice formations and the cool, mysterious atmosphere. It felt like entering a fairytale world hidden deep underground. The mix of rock and ice is simply stunning - massive icicles, frozen waterfalls, and unique shapes sculpted by nature. The temperature drop was refreshing on a hot summer day, and the guided tour was both interesting and informative (even if not in English, visuals speak for themselves!). It’s a short hike to reach the cave, but totally worth it. Bring a jacket and good shoes - and be ready to be amazed. A perfect stop for families, adventurers, or anyone who loves nature’s hidden beauty. Highly recommend it!
Liudmyla Z — Google review
Nice cave. But there is no ice. According to the guide there hasn’t been for several years due to climate change. Other reviews that are saying that there is ice in the cave from the past 3 or more yrs are according to the park service incorrect. There are only tours in Polish and Slovakian. If you don’t understand these languages, you still have to follow a group due to safety and rules. However, one of the guides was incredibly kind and translated all the information for us. This is not a given, but do ask. It made the experience much better.
Kina P — Google review
I recently visited this cave, and overall it was a nice experience. The cave itself is impressive, made of beautiful silicate formations, and the guided tour was excellent. Our guide spoke English very well and explained everything clearly, making the visit informative and enjoyable. There was even a light show, which added a unique touch to the tour. However, we were a bit disappointed because we expected to see ice inside the cave, which was the main reason we chose this one over other caves. Unfortunately, due to climate change, there is no ice anymore. While the cave is still worth visiting, travelers should be aware that it no longer has the icy features it is known for.
Petra M — Google review
The cave itself was a pleasant experience with impressive natural features, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, organizing tours into English and Slovak-speaking groups for better communication. However, the visit fell short of expectations in a few key areas. A major disappointment was the lack of ice in the cave, which was only mentioned upon entry. This could have been communicated clearly on the website or at booking to set proper expectations. The organization felt lacking in this regard. Additionally, the parking fee of 15 EUR was surprisingly high and seemed excessive for the area. Visitors should also be prepared for a physically demanding climb to the cave entrance, which may not suit everyone and wasn’t adequately highlighted beforehand. Overall, while the cave and staff were enjoyable, better transparency about the ice, parking costs, and physical requirements would greatly improve the experience. I’d recommend visiting if you’re physically able and aware of these caveats, but the management could make improvements for a smoother visit.
Andrejs G — Google review
The cave itself is impressive, although there’s no ice during the summer months anymore due to global warming. What I found disappointing, however, is that the tour is conducted only in Slovak. Considering it’s a tourist attraction, I think this is quite a drawback. It would have been much more engaging if I could actually understand what the guide was explaining. The leaflet provided with the tickets does include an English summary, but it’s very brief and only covers part of the information.
Natalia P — Google review
The cave is stunning. Obviously there is not as much ice as before but that makes it a very good reminder of the climate change that we cannot ignore anymore. Also I noticed a lot of reviews that are taking away a few stars because of the expensive parking. FIY the parking lot has nothing to do with the cave. The cave has no power over the prices of parking, do not punish them for someone else's greediness.

Visitors can admire the unique historical architecture and may hear or read historical descriptions in various languages. The church is open daily, and there is an option for voluntary entry fee contribution.
Lovely huge lutheran church, definitely recommend visiting it. Made from wood only. Unique historical architecture. Possibility to hear and read historical description in English and other languages also. Open daily, winter entry time is from 10:30-14:30. Voluntary entry fee contribution.

Unfortunatly it closed in that minutes when we arrive. So be carefull, because it's open from 10.00 to 14.30, but the last admission is 14.15. The church is very grandious from outside, and looks in very well conditions.

Awesome wooden church. Pity that it is open only in the morning. There is about 1m high wooden fence all around the site, so you can see it even if closed, but you cannot look through the windows inside. Interior contains beautiful wooden baroque decorations a including 17th century altar. Interesting fact is that the 43m long church was transported here from other location between 1974 and 1982.

The Slovak Museum of Nature Protection and Speleology in Liptovsky Mikulas is a complex museum with a vast and well-organized collection. It showcases various aspects of the Slovak environment, including the lives of woodcutters, shepherds, and Slovak speleologists and mountain rescuers. The museum building itself is beautiful, and the extensive collection is curated with great care. Visitors can explore exhibits on caves, wildlife/cosmos, mountains, and trees across three levels.
I liked this place. Recommend to visit with kids. Interactive museum with tower to see the city. Speleology is in focus, but it's really interesting

The museum is quite large. Downstairs is a section about caves. On the second floor there is a natural history section (note, there are stuffed animals) and one related to minerals. On the second floor is a section dedicated to human activities in the mountains. You can also go out to viewpoints. There is some interactive stuff, mostly animal sounds. My kids liked the viewpoint the best

The Natural History Museum in Liptovský Mikuláš is a wonderful place to visit, whether you’re interested in nature, history, or just looking for an engaging activity for the family. The museum itself is very well put together, with a variety of interesting exhibits – many of them focused on caves and the natural environment of the region. Some of the displays are interactive, which makes the experience fun and educational, especially for children. One highlight is the chance to “climb” into a model cave, which adds a unique, hands-on element that kids really enjoy. Another great feature is the museum’s tower. You can go up and enjoy a panoramic view of the city, which is definitely worth it. It gives you a nice perspective of Liptovský Mikuláš and the surrounding area. The museum is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours exploring. Everything feels thoughtfully presented, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a really nice museum and well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

One of the best museums I visited in Slovakia. The lower part is dedicated to speleology, middle part to mineralogy and upper part to nature protection. Great for the kids and families. The museum was reconstructed cca 10 years ago so everything looks new. We really recommend visiting it. The price for adults was 8 €/each and for kids 2€/each.

Really good skiing resort. Nearly 40 slopes for all levels of skiing. A lot of good free ride powder zones. Has a fun park where u can practice jumps and tricks. Although not huge it's enough. Food on slope mostly good but can be average, especially at the bar that comes first when skiing down from very top. Mostly reasonable prices. The snow quality is great, and the slopes are well-maintained, which is awesome. Besides skiing, you’ll also find nice restaurants and après-ski activities where you can relax and grab a bite. It’s perfect for families, but if you’re an experienced skier, you’ll also find some challenging runs. Overall, if you’re looking for a solid ski experience, the ski resort in Jasna is definitely the right place to go.

Overall an amazing skii resort. Plenty of slopes for all levels. Did get very busy after New Years though with wait times of 30 minutes to just get on the beginner B3 chair lifts though.

Super bad! Jasna today is not what it was been couple of years ago. Super crowdy. You should wait in que for 1.5 hours. There is no available pay car parking. Infrastructure is not ready to take upon that many people. It is dangerous. Very many crushes. And over all prices are extremely high. Much more expensive than Austria, Italy or even Scandinavia! Don’t go there.

Great place and world-class ski resort, numerous blue, red and black ski slopes for everybody, many lifts and cable cars, numerous restaurants and bistros, après-ski bars, wellness centers and good transport which are free with ski pass. If you go with a car make sure you get there before 8am otherwise you won’t find parking space. Definitely suitable for a year-round visit, you will find many other attractions here and the whole region has a lot to offer, caves, bike rentals, hikes and many more. Highly recommended!!!

Really poor experience. They charge you 15 EUR for parking (you have to pay for a full day), even now during off season. You pay 31 EUR per adult to reach the top, just to find that the restaurant is closed. No mentions at the bottom, no mention on social channels.. we had 3 kids with us who we took the top to eat, as we knew it was cloudy so we couldn’t see much, we just wanted to take them to eat. The tiny bistro that was open instead, had no seating, no foods from their kids menu, and not surprising not a friendly service. To top it all off, you can only go down during designated hours, so we had to wait 25 minutes to go back down. 100 EUR spent between cable tickets, parking and French fries. Bad management is all I can say.

A world-class ski resort, numerous ski slopes, many lifts and cable cars, numerous restaurants and bistros, there are no shortage of luxury hotels, après-ski bars, wellness centers and good transport. One of the biggest ski resort in Slovakia with amazing tracks. I would really recommend to spend here at least 3-4 days to try all the tracks. The 4 star is because they stopped some of the elevators at 15:30 (they wrote 16) and on Monday despite the many skiers they stopped a few elevators all day. The quality of the tracks are the best before 2 PM. We will come back.

Demänovská Cave of Liberty, located in the Liptov region of Slovakia, is a captivating destination for travelers. This extensive cave system stretches over 13,000 meters, with 1,600 meters accessible to visitors. The guided tour offers an opportunity to marvel at underground lakes and vibrant rock formations while learning about the cave's history and geological significance. It's advisable to check the website for tour times as entry is only permitted with a guide.
Cave of Liberty An excellent attraction and a remarkable value for money. The tour lasts approximately one hour and includes a well-organized route with numerous ascents and descents. Visitors should be prepared for a significant number of stairs both on the way down and back up. Photography inside the cave is permitted only with a special ticket (10 EUR), which is clearly marked with a green sticker and strictly enforced. It is also advisable to wear warm clothing, as the temperature inside the cave is noticeably cold.
Ilya L — Google review
Not really expensive for entree, but taking video and pictures is additional €10,-. It’s a queue of 1,5 hour outside in the sun, cash register closed for 45 minutes during cave operations? The tour is in Slovakian and no English, so for us it was just a bit of looking around, but it was absolutely beautiful. It’s just a bit of a mess in this business here, just like the parking of €10,-. Admission fee is €14,- per person.
Timo — Google review
This cave is incredibly amazing. Stunning view inside. Highly recommended to must see if you are in the area. Paid extra euro to be able to take photos. Our tour guide was so nice to translate the language to English. It was an amazing experience.
Demz R — Google review
Pretty cave but entry isn’t the cheapest, and neither is the parking. Will also say that you are not allowed to take photos without a photo pass, which costs extra
Lucia S — Google review
Would recommend 10/10! While the price of the parking ticket (€15) or admission fee (€14/€24) can scare you at first, you will soon realise that it's completely justified. We took the long tour (100 min) and I would suggest taking it as otherwise you will miss the most breathtaking and stunning experience - the Great Dome. It truly is once in a lifetime feeling seeing it for the first time. The whole tour you get to try to figure out what do the different, really varied formations resemble. As an example, in the photo attached a little mole is being strangled by a cobra 🐍 The guide speaks in Slovak but as our group was mainly Polish, there was also Polish audio played. I am not sure if there is English audio as well, but you can read most of the details in their official free English guide. If you are in the neighbourhood give it a go, you won't regret it!
Jędrzej C — Google review
The caves are impressive, but be prepared to listen to Slovak language for an hour even if in the group are only foreigners.
Tomas V — Google review
Great experience and breathtaking. Prepare yourself for long distance walk. The tour guide speaks only Slovakian which makes the tour very very boaring without understanding a single world. Even instructions inside were explained only in thier language. Specially for such a large group around 100 person in the tour. The path from Parking to the entrance were not clear and confusing. It worth the experience eventhough.
ALI A — Google review
The cave system is worth seeing. The way it is adjusted for mass tourism is painful to see. Tons of concrete are everywhere. The pariking (not governed by a cave institution) is criminally expensive. 15 EUR

St. Nicholas Church, a stunning architectural gem in the heart of the town, is steeped in history and charm. Originally built on the site of an older Romanesque church from the 11th-12th centuries, this single-nave structure was constructed between 1280 and 1300. The church features beautifully maintained surroundings with manicured lawns, trees, and statues that enhance its appeal.
Quite interesting building in gothic style except the roof of the tower that seems to be in baroque style. The church originated in 13th century.

Located in the western side of the square, the Museum of Janko Kráľ, also known as Ileshazy Curia and Seliga's House, is a fascinating attraction. Housed in what was once a County House and now serves as the seat of the local District Office, this museum offers an intriguing exposition. Visitors can explore fighting knights in period armor and a replica of a torture chamber with various instruments in the basement.
The exposition of the museum is very interesting, in the back of the museum you can experience fighting knights in period armor in the basement is the replica of the torture chamber with different torture instruments. Upstairs there are 500 years books of priceless value. The guide also knows a lot of interesting facts and stories. I recommend to visit musem with children, pairs and even elderly people, the tours are every hour and start at half past every hour.

Nestled in the heart of Liptovsky Mikulas, the Koloman Sokol Gallery stands as one of Slovakia's oldest and most cherished art venues. Established in 2002 to commemorate the centenary of renowned Slovak artist Koloman Sokol, this gallery showcases an impressive collection exceeding 5,000 works. It is particularly noted for housing the largest compilation of Sokol’s masterpieces, a figure who garnered admiration from iconic artists like Pablo Picasso.

(Translated by Google) Interesting exhibition 😉 It is worth visiting this gallery. Thanks to the weather, I had the exhibition of the artist from Orava with effects, as she creates such darker works, and it thundered outside during the presentation 🤭 The exhibition of works by Hermann Kern and his old men was a bit more modest, but I really liked his works. 😉 I was very excited by the life story of Koloman Sokol. His life stories and journeys were reflected in his work. I definitely recommend visiting. 🙂👍

(Translated by Google) Liptovsky Mikulas is a small but surprisingly atmospheric town in Slovakia that hides real cultural treasures. One of these is Galéria Kolomana Sokola, dedicated to the life and work of this outstanding artist. Koloman Sokol (1902–2003) is one of the most significant Slovak artists of the 20th century. His work left a deep mark on the history of art. After studying at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts, he taught in Mexico and then lived and worked in the United States, but always remained true to his roots and his native Slovakia. His work was appreciated all over the world, including such masters as Pablo Picasso. The gallery's exhibition is based on 48 of the artist's best works dedicated to his native country. These paintings and graphics not only reflect his unique style, but also show important social issues of the time. They show hunger, poverty, desperate people, as well as the frequent motifs of horses, riders and dogs, symbolizing strength, freedom and devotion. The gallery is located in a historical building on the main square of the city, at the address: Námestie Osloboditeľov 28. The building, built in the 15th century, is the oldest secular building in the city. Previously, it was the residence of the feudal nobleman Pongratz and, together with the Church of St. Nicholas, formed a small fortress surrounded by the waters of the Váh River. The architecture of the building combines elements of Gothic and Renaissance, which fits perfectly into the atmosphere of the old city. There is silence and comfort inside the gallery, and the exhibition is organized in such a way that each work receives due attention. During our visit, there were no other visitors to the museum, and we received personal attention from an employee, a lady who enthusiastically spoke not only about Sokol’s work, but also about his life. If you find yourself in Liptovsky Mikulas, don't miss this gallery. It is open to visitors from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00. The cost of visiting the exhibition is symbolic and amounts to only three euros. For such a small amount you will get a unique experience that will stay with you for a long time.

If you're visiting the area between April and October and enjoy natural hot springs, be sure to visit Thermal Springs Kada. This attraction offers a pristine and complimentary pool with thermal water, as well as a picturesque stream nearby and an expansive green park area. It's an ideal destination for families, with free admission and ample parking available about 500 meters away. The geothermal and mineral waters are reputed to possess healing properties, providing a comfortably warm swimming experience.
I've been to many thermal baths, but this is a natural thermal spring and not some "clean" water with chlorine, true - the water is not hot, but definitely healing and nice to swim in There is a cooler pool and a hotter one, the place is clean and the locals upkeep it, the direct road to the springs is closed, but you can use the parking next to the church which is 4min by foot Careful - don't stay in the water longer than 20min (this applies to all thermal water) and what we found out is that the water composition turns all silverware into a gold-ish colour, which washes off with normal water afterwards Overall a great experience in nature, Recommend! :)

We visited this natural hot spring recently, and it was an interesting experience. The setting is beautiful and it’s free to enjoy, which already makes it special. When we went, the water was about 24 degrees — not as warm as we expected, but still pleasant once you got used to it. The water wasn’t crystal clear, but the atmosphere made up for it. There were a few local people around, and everyone was friendly, which gave the place a nice community feel. Overall, it’s worth a visit — just don’t expect the water to be hot like in typical hot springs.

This is a lovely area to come with family. The entrance is free and there is plenty of parking approximately 500 m away. The geothermal and mineral waters are said to have healing properties. Stanišovská Cave is a small and cozy cave near Liptovsky Jan, easily accessible with available parking. Despite its size, the experience of exploring this cave is remarkable. The guided tour by a knowledgeable speleologist offers interesting insights for both kids and adults, making it an educational adventure. It's recommended to visit in the summer when the interior temperature is around 6 degrees Celsius. The terrain inside is not demanding, suitable for families with children and even elderly visitors.
This cave is very cool. Temperature wise, yes, but also, aesthetically. We've done a few caves in the area and this tour is among the best. The tour guide really knows what she's doing, and isn't just reciting memorized lines in that weird cadence literally every other cave guide has. She gets the kids involved and seems to actually enjoy her project. You take your own lights (provided headlamps) as the cave is wonderfully not lit up like a supermarket like others are, giving you the feel of really exploring a secret place. You can really feel the history of this cave, both geological and humanical. And it's off the beaten path, so you aren't in an overstuffed crowd. Well worth the trip and the price.

Lovely place in Liptovsky Mikulas. Must book in advance on their website - esp if it rains the slots go fast! There’s stairs to get in, you can leave buggy, your shoes & bags upstairs in the lockers. Do wear your socks. 2adults & 1 child over 5 paid €21 in 2019. Toilets available. It’s fantastic fun. They recommend 1 hour but it was busy so we stayed 2. Read the pictures near the illusions to understand the illusion. It’s great fun - for children & adults. Would definitely go back. My almost 3 year old loved it too. Recommended

A nice place to visit for those traveling with children, but not only. Many adults will also love the place. Not a big museum, but very nice. Time required for a maximum visit of one hour. Relatively not cheap. You can make cool photos in different compositions. Parking on site.

Similar to Tricklandia in Stary Smokovec. Nice place to visit with kids especially when it is raining. I highly recommend to make a reservation beforehand as there is visitors daily limit.
Vladimir B — Google review
It's a little further away (cca 15min walk) from centre, but quite worth it. The admission is every 30 min for ~20 ppl, we visited on Friday afternoon and got in without prior reservation, but I'd recommend checkin their site in advance to see if a booking weren't a better idea. We've been to many similar illusion joints and this one certainly ranks among the better ones (with two or three attractions we haven't seen elsewhere). Most rooms contain multiple illusions and the vantage (photo) spots are crossing the line of sight so some agreement with other visitors might be needed, but we have had no bad experience.

Interesting place, but do not justify price for the entrance. Tickets are expensive for one hour entertainment.

Park MINI SLOVENSKO is an exhibition area featuring 18 meticulously detailed models of Slovak cultural monuments, with plans for further expansion. The miniatures, in a scale of 1:25, include castles and cathedrals and were first created in 2005. The park offers an engaging experience for both children and adults, with captivating train displays that attract kids' attention while adults can appreciate the precision of the models.
A beautiful park containing beautiful miniatures from across all of Slovakia. Some are iconic (Bojnice castle, or the Levoča town hall), some less renown, but of their own importance (most being either national landmarks [used on post stamps in the past] or even UNESCO heritage sites) plus the church located right in the city that you can visit and compare with. The park is supplemented with a cute railway system serviced by multiple trains along with actual renditions of some real-world railway stations. Unlike other types of miniature parks I've visited, all the miniatures, as well as the railroad, are in the same 1:25 ratio and built with meticulous detail (you can see the author must be an actual architect) while most of the miniatures are also accompanied with bonsais to make them look even more life-like (though of course the trees around the actual landmarks [if any] look different, the scenery here is beautiful in its own right). It's definitely worth a visit, plan in between 30-60 min. It's fairly popular, but not too crowded and rarely requires a wait at the entrance - also, cards are accepted here so no need for cash (but if you want some refreshments or shop for souvenirs on the marketplace across the road, you'd need to have some as the nearby venues don't accept cards).

Absolutely amazing place with rail tracks and electric mini trains that just go round and round. As a train fan i was really impressed.
Alexey A — Google review
Not much to see here really, only 20 models. You can see the entire park in about 20 minutes and then you have nothing to do there. It was kind of disappointing for me, I expected more from this, since I heard how amazing this park is. It’s definitely not worth the entrance fee which is 5 euros for adult and 3 euros for student. I’m not saying the models don’t look good, they surely do, I just think the ticket to this place is overpriced.

It's a nice place, our kids liked the trains best. The models are impressive and the place seems to be still growing, which is awesome. Quick visit, an hour max.

The Liptov Gallery of Peter Michal Bohúň is a must-visit destination in Slovakia. It houses a fascinating exhibition of 20th-century art, showcasing the works of renowned artists. The gallery also features permanent exhibitions that pay homage to the talented artists from Liptov. Visitors can enjoy navigating through the large space filled with captivating paintings and even have the option to pay by credit card at the checkout.
Nice gallery which right now (summer 2018) is showing an exhibition of glass sculptures by Ján Zoričák called Windows to Universe. Definetly something you should not miss while visiting Liptovský Mikuláš! Perfect for both a rainy as well as very hot day! :)

I have to admit that I didn't like everything. Well, art is like that, everyone likes something different. Anyway, I think this gallery can cater to everyone, which I think is absolutely great. 🙂👍

(Translated by Google) Art Gallery named after. P. M. Bohunya is located in the former building of an evangelical school near the church of 1783, opened in 1955. The artist P. Bohun (1822-1979) is a classic of realism in Slovak art, he worked in Liptovsky Mikulas for more than 11 years (he taught drawing at an evangelical school). Portraits by the artist (32 paintings) are located on the 1st floor of the gallery. The Hall of Ancient Art and the Hall of Modernism are interesting (there is a painting “Forest” by the artist Ester Šimerova, it represents the modernism of Slovak art). The works of Mikulas Galand, Ladislav Gudern, and Evgeniy Legotsky are interesting. During our visit in the winter of 2025, the gallery had installations by contemporary extraordinary authors - Martin Dörner, Peter Ilczyk, Marek Kwetan. They all work with specific things that are placed in space in unusual ways, causing us to wonder and ask questions. I recommend visiting the gallery! A very nice girl worked at the ticket office, explained everything and helped with the excursion.

(Translated by Google) At the entrance, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, in addition to selling tickets, they provided us with a brief information cross-section of current exhibitions, which is unfortunately lacking in some galleries. Initially, we looked at the works of the current Triennial exhibition of portraits and new realism. The selection of works was really interesting and varied, most of them easily understandable even for a lay visitor, but there were also works that were attractive because of their difference and a more demanding form to understand, but the work of the external curator with the space was predictable and uninnovative, simple. The permanent exhibitions that we left for the end were pleasant and really beneficial for someone who is just getting an overview of Slovak art. In addition to the works of Alexy, Benko or other well-known authors, we also encountered the works of local artists, about whom we had unfortunately not heard much before. Overall, the gallery space offers a number of paintings, sculptures, objects, but also conceptual text or conceptual works that pleasantly diversified our stay in Liptovský Mikuláš, and despite the visible financial undersizing of the given institution (visible in certain parts of the interior), we will definitely come back here the next time we visit the area. Whether it's because of the topics they worked with in the exhibitions or because of the staff, I can only recommend the given cultural institution. (Original) Už pri vchode nás príjemne prekvapil príjemný personál, okrem zapredania lístkov nám poskytli stručný informačný prierez aktuálnymi výstavami, čo žiaľ pri niektorých galériách chýba. Spočiatku sme si prehliadli diela aktuálnej výstavy trienále portrétov a nový realizmus.

Termal Raj, also known as Thermal Paradise, is a popular outdoor thermal swimming pool located in Hotel Sorea Maj. The water temperature is a comfortable 26C, perfect for swimming and leisurely activities. The area is well-maintained with ample shade from large trees and clean facilities. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of quality food and drinks at the buffet. Surrounded by picturesque mountain scenery, it's an ideal place to relax and take a dip in mineral water.
Really nice place to chill between the mountains in mineral water!! Buffet has lovely staff and fast service! Best langose I’ve ate so far!! Highly recommend!

The water was 26C, very pleasant for swimming and playing in the water. The whole area was tidy with large trees to provide enough shadow for a sunny day. Most of the buildings were freshly painted and clean. There was a wide variety of food and drinks of good quality available, and the facilities were quite clean. We had, like many other visitors, a very pleasant day at this swimming pool surrounded by a wonderfull mountain scenery. Only the price of 32 euro for a family of 4 should really be less, if only because the "thermal" aspect was not what one might expect.
Jean-Pierre S — Google review
Water is somewhat clean, but there are a LOT of wasps and hornets + they fall in the water and its a bit gross, but since it's outside its ok. Do not go to the buffets at the entrance, long wait for the simplest dish- fries (we waited about 50mims, after that we just left- didn't even get the fries). The bathroom was a big dirty but it was being cleaned. It's ok, but not the best. (Also the water is heated by the sun- quite cold at first but around noon it's pretty warm.
Wolfina S — Google review
Don't expect anything and you won't be surprised. 4 pool probably heated just by sun. Rest rooms are new but smelly and dirty. There wasn't any hot water at all in showers. There is just 1 buffet and 3 snack bars. All of them very pricy. The buffet got even vegetarian options wrong. Definitely don't worth of the entry fee.

The yellow trail from Ziarska Valley leads to the summit in about 4 hours, showcasing breathtaking vistas of Ziarska Valley, Banikov range, and Baranec Range. The hike above the tree line reveals captivating sights of Low Tatras and High Tatras.

I did this hike on the 6th of May. It was a cloudy day, but as soon as you got above the tree line and above clouds you could see the tops of the mountains. I walked from mini camping Jana in Liptovská Kokava. This added an hour each way to the hike. It’s a great campsite to stay in when hiking in the Tatra mountains. The hike itself was pretty straightforward, nothing technical.
James G — Google review
This is the only open trail for the winter hikers in West Tatras. Follow the yellow trail (or the path) and you will get to the summit in about 4 hours from the parking at the Ziarska Valley (they charge 3 Euro for day parking). Once you get above the tree line you will be able to enjoy beautiful views on Ziarska Valley, Banikov range and Baranec Range. You can also see Low Tatras and once you get closer to the summit High Tatras too. The nature under the snow cover looks amazing, but it can get quite windy and the snow is slippery around the summit. The weather changes quickly too. Don't hesitate and put this winter hike on your bucket list!

Beautiful and peaceful place. We went during the autumn, so there was a lot of free space to walk.

This place is very badly organized. The reservation on site took almost 20 minutes (and there was nobody in the queue in front of me). They told us our kayaks will be ready in ten minutes and it took them 50 (!) minutes... We got 30 minutes on kayaks for free because of that, but it wasn't very professional... We wanted single kayaks and they had only one of them (and there weren't any other customers), so we had to borrow doubles. Despite all of this we had a great time on kayaks and I would recommend to do this activity if you are visiting Liptovská Mara. The kayaks or water bicycles are the thing you want to do... Better than jetskis...

I recommend the ascent from Iľanov, a pleasant way there through the forest, I further recommend from the top to Sedlo pod spałom, i.e. not the same way back to beautify the hike, but you can also exit in Iľanov if you have a car down, ideal. (Translated by Google) Poludnica is a popular tourist destination in Liptov. It has two peaks with great views. From Predná Poludnice you have the Liptov Mountains in the palm of your hand, with the Chočské vrchy, Western and High Tatras in the background. Zadná Poludnica, the higher of the two peaks, allows a wonderful view of the main ridge of the Low Tatras. The half-day hike to Poludnice is difficult due to the steep climb. Especially in winter, you need to carefully monitor the weather forecast and be properly equipped. Probably the most popular starting point for an interesting route is Liptovský Ján, alternatives are Závažná Poruba and Iľanovo.

The ship Mary used to accommodate up to 90 passengers, but it was later reduced for a more enjoyable experience. The one-hour journey offers a great view and includes entry to the beach at a reasonable cost. Visitors are advised to purchase tickets at the parking lot. It's recommended to wear water shoes and take a boat trip, although beach restaurants may not be ideal. The cruise takes passengers near a historic church and provides a great experience for both children and adults alike.

(Translated by Google) We took the sightseeing cruise on the ship Mária on the recommendation of friends. And it was a pleasant experience that was liked not only by adults, but also by children. The cruise lasted approximately 45 minutes, I recommend buying tickets in advance online, this way you can secure the cruise at a time that suits you best. The Mária ship is also suitable for sailing with children, as it is safe, there is also a toilet on the ship, which I also appreciate with children. When boarding, you will be greeted by a nice captain of the ship, who will accompany you throughout the voyage with an explanation about the creation, history and important facts of the Liptovská Mara water dam. At the same time, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Western and Low Tatras and Chočské Vrchy. We are left with beautiful memories and we will definitely recommend it to others.

There were also 3 strollers on board during our cruise. There was a bit of a problem with getting on board, when the strollers had to be lifted over the bridge because the entrance is narrow, but then it was fine. There is also a toilet on board. Once serving as the hub for county administration, it has evolved into a vibrant center for local governance and community activities. The building's striking facade features an intricate relief of Liptov's coat of arms, while its interior is graced by stunning stained glass windows crafted by Ester Simerova-Martincekova.
Its really nice looking building with place in front of it. On whole week I been there, there was few events had their place. One was food trucks and second some 'Jazz music festival' and it was part of whole bigger event with music etc. Like 'Summer with Liptovski Mikulasz' which lasted for few days. There are no significantly exposed places on the trail, although several sections are equipped with technical aids for safety. The trip to Siná is interesting because of its variety, starting in the valley of the stream alternates with deep forest, flowery mountain meadows in the open landscape and finally the top part with breathtaking views of the Low Tatras massif and the surrounding mountains. Especially on the steady sunny days of autumn, you can enjoy postcard-perfect views of the Western Tatras, Chočské vrchy, Malá Fatra, or Oravská Magura - of course also to the beautiful valleys. So we started playing on different machines and after about 3 games we noticed that there were no more tickets on our card. We asked about it, the answer - well, most machines do not give out tickets, only ones where something spins. What kind of answer is this? So I have to deduce which machines will give me something and which ones won't. And I will only find out when I pay for the game. It would be possible to mark the machines that give tickets and which do not. Another thing that made us extremely "pleased" is their non-functioning kitchen and thus the fact that they do not prepare any meals. We came mainly because of their promotion on all social networks, that for the tickets you win, you can order pizza or other refreshments from them. So we collected 1000 credits so we could order a pizza at the end. We sat down at the table, the waiter came and only after we ordered, she told us that their kitchen was not working and they were not cooking. At that moment, I was disgusted by this whole center and their unprofessional attitude. If we have something broken, it would be advisable to point it out in advance, when buying a playing card. (Original) Obsluha neochotná a celkovo náš zážitok nie veľmi príjemný. A zistím to až keď si hru zaplatím.

(Translated by Google) nice idea, nice place and idea with tables etc.. but overall not much since prices and rewards for tickets have been raised properly, and that is not worth it at all. three quarters of the machines either do not work or do not add winnings as they should.. I do not understand the service, empty room, no customers and waiting time for 3 drinks 25 minutes, and in general we always waited terribly long and the service was always doing something else. pizza not much, Žuváčkovy cheese is inedible. no air conditioning.. more expensive than in Bratislava in Gamestat where it is about something else😀we gave it a chance but we probably will not return. (Original) pekny napad, pekna miestost a napad so stolmi atd.. no celkovo nic moc nakolko ceny a odmeny za tickety riadne zdvihli, a to sa vobec neoplati. tristvrte automatov bud nefunguje alebo nepridava vyhru ako by malo.. obsluha nechapem prazdna miestnost ziadny zakaznici a cakacia doba na 3 drinky 25 minut, a vseobecne sme vzdy cakali strasne moc dlho a obsluha robila stale nieco ine. pizza nic moc, syr zuvackovy neda sa jest. ziadna klima.. drahsie ako v bratislave v gamestate kde to je teda o niecom inom😀davali sme tomu sancu no uz sa asi nevratime.

Some of the games didn't even work properly, they ate my money and none of it 😀 it's not worth going here. (Original) Pitie bolo v poriadku aj chutné, nejedla som tu takže neviem posúdiť, prišla som si hlavne zahrať hry no katastrofa. (Translated by Google) We used to go to your place every year when we are on vacation, but after this you have dropped a lot with us. The restaurant downstairs is absolutely great, the staff, the food is simply 1*, I recommend it to everyone. But in the game room it's a little worse. It works above that you can buy pizza, popcorn, etc. with points. We had some points that we wanted to spend, there were 5 of us. We had a craving for popcorn, but it passed immediately when we saw how a worker who was really catching everything opened the door to the pop-up room and put his hand in there and ate popcorn. Then he went to play darts and other games with his friends. This was repeated several times. There was a temporary worker who didn't really know where anything was, so we really waited for a long time for everything while his colleague, who was supposed to teach him, had fun. When we wanted to add up the points and know how many we had in order to choose a prize, a part-time worker had to go after a colleague to interrupt him during the game, and when he rolled his eyes, we were starting to have enough. When he counted the cards, he said that the balance was around 2000 something and he ran off to play. He didn't tell us exactly how many, so we didn't know what the number of points was if the part-time worker hadn't told us. He really tried, but his colleague's lack of interest and his hygiene, like sticking his hands into something from which people are scooping and then grabbing everything possible, spoiled our overall impression. I recommend the restaurant, the games are great, but it would probably be better to watch out for the employee.

Nestled in the heart of Liptovsky Mikulas, the "House on the Roof" offers a whimsical experience that’s sure to delight both children and adults alike. This quirky attraction features an upside-down design that creates a playful atmosphere, perfect for snapping some memorable photos. Visitors can explore fun installations like airplane and helicopter replicas, adding an extra layer of excitement for younger guests. While navigating the slanted floors may induce a bit of dizziness, it only adds to the charm of this unique spot.
Good place to cheat your sense of balance. Great oportunity to have good looking and unusual photos.

It's not the first house on the roof I visit ,it's not a big one , not cet special. But outside the house there is a real helicopter and a real plane ,where kids can sit in the pilot place and hit all the buttons and stuff, the definitely worth it.
Mark P — Google review
A very nice and special place to visit with the children. There is parking on site. Cost is not so cheap. Suitable for the whole family. A maximum of one hour is required for the visit. It is very nice to sit inside a plane and inside a helicopter. Inside the house you get dizzy in a short time :)
Eddy T — Google review
Entrance was around 6€ however be prepared to get dizzy bcz the whole house is upside down. I also recommend visiting zoo kontact is about 200m u can be enclosed with animals also tigers. Very unique place
Smiley V — Google review
Just unique. It is interesting but many people feel dizzy inside. The kids didn’t spend much time inside. The aircraft outside got a lot more attention. The bathrooms are not free… For how much you pay, the owners MUST rethink this ridiculous, greedy concept.
Robert ( — Google review
Ok but €6 is a bit much to take a few pictures when you can take them from the road. The staff was rude but its good for young children to see the house, plane and helicopter.

The Monument to Gašpar Fejérpataky Belopotocký is a tribute to a man who faced numerous hardships in his life. Despite not knowing his own mother and facing mistreatment from his stepmother and wife, as well as persecution and hatred from others, he did not receive any affection. This suffering shaped him into the person he became. The monument serves as a reminder of the challenges he endured and how they influenced his character.
