Subway is a delightful casual dining chain that specializes in customizable sandwiches and salads, catering to health-conscious diners. Recently, I took my granddaughter there after her hockey game, marking my first visit in years. The staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient, making our experience enjoyable. While the food was delicious—especially the coffee—I did notice some inconsistencies with delivery orders compared to dining in; for instance, the nachos lacked sauce and the sandwiches were a bit soggy when delivered.

Coffee shop
If you're looking to kickstart your day in Driffield, Kinship is the perfect spot to grab a cup of coffee and indulge in some delightful baked goods. Established in 2021, this charming independent coffee shop aims to create a welcoming space for everyone, fostering connections among locals and visitors alike. While it may be cozy inside—ideal for solo sippers or couples—it’s conveniently located near the station, making it an excellent pit stop for takeaway drinks before your train journey.
Great independent little coffee shop in Driffield serving really good coffee and cakes. There’s not much room inside so think solo coffee drinkers (me) or couples, rather than a big group. Coffee and hot chocolate are available for takeaway and as Kinship is pretty close to the station it would be a great place to pick up a coffee for your train journey. Kinship also sells a range of coffee beans to take home if you want to create your own coffeehouse experience at home.

Aussie quality coffee with the friendly Yorkshire hospitality. Come for a brew, stay for a chat. The owner Tom has great house and guest beans, delicious treats and provides such a vibe for all seasons. If you’re in Driffield or on the way to the Yorkshire coast - make a detour to this part of town, it’s worth it and you’ll walk out with a new friend (and fav coffee place)!
Matt C — Google review
This is a great little independent coffee shop, not much space inside but take away is always an option. Great cakes and bakes available, the coffee is great and you can buy the beans to take home with you as well. It’s not in the main hub of town, but it’s definitely worth the walk! Totally recommend a visit!

The best oat milk latte around! It’s almost impossible to resist the amazing bakes that Tom has on offer too! 😍 my little boy always loves a babycino when we pop in, and there’s always a chilled and welcoming atmosphere. ☕️

Recently ordered a buffet for 90 people. Great selection to cater for numerous tastes. Delivered as agreed although the weather was appalling without any issues. What can I say about the food. Just wow. The amount of comments we got on how good it looked and great it tasted, would definately use again if booking another buffet.

The farm shop at Cranswick is set in a picturesque environment and offers a delightful selection of local produce, including cakes and pies. Their cafe serves traditional, hearty meals at fair prices, with breakfast portions that are satisfyingly British. The sausages and bacon are not overly salty, indicating fresh and high-quality ingredients. A nice touch is the separate serving of beans in a pot, allowing for customization of each plate.
I only stopped off for coffee but it looked like they do great food. Nice seating outside, looks like a lot of tractors and carts for kids to choose from. Dog friendly.
Colin ( — Google review
I recently visited the farm shop in Cranswick and was thoroughly impressed! Their desserts and tray bakes are absolutely delightful – a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. The chorizo stuffed chicken was another standout, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. This shop is a treasure trove of farmer produce and local delicacies. From fresh vegetables to unique items like frozen dough and potato bites, there's something for everyone. The quality and variety are outstanding, making it a great spot for stocking up on local goods. If you're lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, there's also a wonderful circular walk around the area. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful countryside and work up an appetite before indulging in the shop’s treats. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors!

We come here about once a month. Never disappoints. Now got the Winter menu including their wonderful meat pie. Delicious! The Quiche is always really good. The cakes and flapjacks are the best. Service is usually friendly and the place is always super clean.
Lynne T — Google review
Our food was fabulous, staff are very friendly, service quick and they even gave a song and dance made our day. We had a sandwich and some amazing chunky chips! Key Lime pie and white chocolate and raspberry cake to follow - fabulous. We would recommend a visit.
Elaine W — Google review
Ate here a couple of times whilst staying nearby. The breakfasts are really nice and good quality food. The coffee is in a large cup and not overpriced either - tasted nice too. The deli has a great range of pies, cheeses etc, and I can definitely recommend the beef pie which was absolutely delicious. Staff lovely and friendly, will be back again.
Aliceh H — Google review
Delicious and generous portions of home-cooked food, with friendly and helpful staff in a bright and airy room. Another plus is that they now have improved choices and information for dietary restrictions, such as gluten and dairy. The fresh food and deli offerings in the shop are good value too, and well worth a look.
Paul H — Google review
Stopped off for a bite to eat and a drink, which were excellent, but was unfortunate enough to witness one of the older staff bully one of the young girls to tears. Really no need for this kind of behaviour in public, just have a quiet word with them not a full on shouting and screaming session at them. Management should be ashamed.

Proper biker friendly cafe 👌 nice place with plenty of room to eat, either inside or outside. Handy, as it was really busy when we were there. A sign of a good popular cafe. Food was lovely and the staff very friendly, even under pressure 😀 Lovely location with great roads to ride 👍 First time visit, but I will get back here again.

Great place to get out on your bike to. Great food and great staff. Smashing place to meet up with fellow bikers and drool over some of the machines that turn up. Also, great for glamping / camping! You can get there by any means, not just bike.

Café Leon in Driffield is a delightful gem that you might easily overlook due to its modest entrance. However, once you ascend the staircase to the first floor, you'll find a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere filled with patrons of all ages, from families with little ones to seniors enjoying their time out. This dog-friendly café boasts an impressive menu featuring both warm and cold options, along with daily specials that cater to various tastes.
First time at Cafe Leon in Driffield and very impressed. It's spacious and well lit with natural light due to large windows. Nice decor too, especially the tiled blue mosaic style floor, which reminds you of being on a Mediterranean sun terrace. I had a light lunch including home made coronation chicken sandwich and a coffee. All tasted freshly made from today and good sozed portion. Lots of different things on the menu warm and cold too. Recomend for a coffee or lunch. Good spot.
Mark S — Google review
Superb food, service good. Lovely place for breakfast, lunch or just a snack.
Bryan S — Google review
This is going to be one of those reality check reviews. I work in the hospitality industry and the prices here are just plain crazy. Even working on the age old 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 formula charging sandwiches out at £6.90 plus £1.70 for a meagre portion of chips is just not economically fair on the consumer. There is no way the sandwiches cost you £2.30 to plate up - purely with the amount of filling offered. Where we sat our table was not clean neither the two next to us, there was food on the floor and on the seats too which we wiped away. Alot of staff walking around doing not alot. Basic things like dirty menus is just reprehensible (see photo) - my first visit to this establishment and I am really confused as to how you have the rating you do. Worse to come very poorly maintaned furniture I received a deep cut on my finger from the wobbly legs, replaced with another that was no different. Restrooms were dirty too paper and water/urine on the floor. In this day and age where everyone is competing for the same £ and you have to go the extra mile it appears the ownership have given up. Extremely disappointing......
Matt T — Google review
We were looking for somewhere to have coffee and spotted Cafe Leon across the street. The entrance looked tiny but we realised it was simply the way into a staircase upto the cafe on the first floor. On a miserable Wednesday lunchtime the cafe was buzzing and many tables were full or already reserved. Clientele was across the ages from families with very young children to pensioners. It is also dog friendly. There was a good selection of food on the menu, together with a specials board. Drinks were priced as expected but we thought the food was rather overpriced. I asked about gluten free options and was shown the cakes listed as gluten free but none were labelled as such. All cakes were clingfilmed whether gf or not. Unless there was a lift which we missed there is no disabled access. I liked the decor and the staff were polite and professional.
Anne S — Google review
What a lovely little cafe, Food was delicious and price was great value. I’m very shocked to see some unpleasant reviews, the staff were great and very polite, they were all very well trained. Tables were cleaned and tidied as soon as people left, food was hot and fresh. Would definitely come back if in the area, Will also recommend. Keep up the good work. It’s hard to find a lovely little cafe like this these days.
J S — Google review
Visited this cafe today as previous cafe visited last month in Driffield was closed today for some renovation. 2 young ladies seen, one was serving and the other in the kitchen area that could just be seen. She gave a nice smile as she looked out. Service was quick with tea and food received within 5 minutes of ordering. Waitress was pleasant and efficient. I had a BLT sandwich with coleslaw and salad. Excellent quality of food and very tasty. My only disappointment was I thought the tea could have been in a larger cup as it seemed quite small compared to other cafes I have visited over the years. I have to visit Driffield monthly on business in future months and will certainly pay this cafe a visit on a regular basis for breakfast now I know its location.
Big P — Google review
We wanted to stop at a pub for lunch but none of the pubs seemed to be serving food, someone suggested that we try cafe Leon. The food seemed quite overpriced £9.90 for jacket potato with beans and cheese: the potato wasn’t even crispy on the outside. The flatbread with steak and onion was £11: it was tasty but quite small. I wouldn’t go back. The staff were nice though, and the place is dog friendly.

A lovely tasteful place for a coffee or snack. I think of it as a "Betty's for Driffield". Reasonable prices pleasant staff. I've not eaten here but the food looks good.

Nestled in the charming village of Huggate, Rachel's Walnut Cottage Tea Room is a delightful haven for food lovers and tea enthusiasts alike. This quaint establishment offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for celebrating special occasions or simply enjoying a cozy meal. Guests rave about the homemade delights, including an exquisite tomato and basil soup paired with soft bread rolls that melt in your mouth.
Wow! What a lovely afternoon we had here. We were made to feel so welcome by Rachel. The food was absolutely wonderful. So fresh and simply delicious. It’s the next day and we’re still talking about the broccoli and Stilton soup! The bread roll was super soft and smelt so fresh! The servings of cakes were very good value. We will most definitely be returning regularly. Thank you 🙂

What a fantastic little place. We popped in yesterday afternoon at the end of a long walk on the Wolds Way. We has a cup of tea, served in a pot. And 2 delicious cakes - carrot (dairy free) and ginger. The selection to choose from is incredible and they all looked delicious. The other couple in the cafe at the same time certainly enjoyed their scones. The lady serving was incredibly friendly and helpful. One final thing worth mentioning is that the cafe itself is beautifully decorated with loads of great little pictures, ornaments etc. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Peter G — Google review
What a lovely experience we had in this traditional tea room. There was a warm and friendly welcome, and the cake display, gosh it was a feast for the eyes. The owner was really allergy aware and knew the ingredients of everything. Everything, is homemade, even the beautifully soft and light bread rolls which is so unusual. The smooth, rich, warming bowl of carrot and coriander soup felt wicked and healthy at the same time. We had a big selection of treats afterwards, a combination of greed and indecision. The scones were light, fresh and full of flavour. The coffee and walnut cake was traditional, rich, and moist with the perfect amount of icing. The generous portion of millionaires slice had a delicious thick toffee layer that wasn't overly sweet with buttery shortbread, and of course we tried the tiffin which had a very slightly chewy bite to it, richly chocolatey with a flake chocolate finger on the top. We were lucky enough to sit outside in the glorious sunshine where the owner, Rachel, and her husband Ken provided friendly and attentive service. Our visit here was such a lovely experience, I'd highly recommend going.

Went for my Mother in laws birthday. Came all the way from Manchester to be with her. What a lovely place. The food was amazing. I had tomato and basil soup which is the nicest I’ve ever tasted. It came with an home made bread roll which was so soft and tasty. I had a cheese scone along with this that was also so light. The selection of cakes is amazing too, They brought cake out for Rita and sang happy birthday. Such lovely people. Would definitely recommend

Newly opened Paws for Tea! We were very lucky as this only opened last week, we were greeted quickly and shown to the Doggy section. The cakes and scones were delicious and very filling! Oscar loved the little doggy biscuit! Would definitely recommend!

We always stop at Rachel's when visiting the area. Absolutely delicious homemade cakes and bakes and a friendly welcome. Our friends were also suitably impressed. Nice new dog friendly area too although we all sat in the tea garden this time.

Lovely treasure of a tearoom in Huggate. A very warm welcome from the owner who makes all the cakes herself. My husband and I were out walking and made a point of visiting the tearoom. We both had a jacket potato with cheese and beans which was a good portion and quickly served. Couldn't resist a date and walnut scone which was light and delicious. My husband had the Victoria sponge which he said was very good. It's lovely there are still places like this tearoom around which give such amazing service and homemade cakes.

Café Culture @ Inspiration Café Bar is a delightful spot that keeps drawing visitors back for its exceptional coffee and warm atmosphere. On my recent visit, I indulged in the Ploughman's Scone, a savory delight paired with pickles and cheddar. The café's charm lies in its friendly staff who are always eager to help, making you feel right at home from the moment you step inside.
Went in today and was very pleased to see it is no dogs allowed. As I am someone with a severe pet dander allergy I am often not able to find somewhere to grab a bite to eat indoors. Definitely will be calling at this place again. Oh and the food was great too.
Debra S — Google review
Just called in for drinks, which were very reasonably priced. Order at the counter, then waitress service just let down by a couple of things. Back of the cafe towards the counter, very dark as the hanging lights were not on or didn't work. The sofa in the window is a bit tatty and soon could do with replacing. Overall, it's worth a visit
Caroline A — Google review
This is our second visit to Café Culture and we really like the place, hence we came back. The coffee is excellent. Now let me say here this is my personal feedback based on MY needs and expectations and I'm sure many will disagree as they would have different needs and expectations. I had the Ploughman's Scone, which is described on the menu board as "A warmed savoury cheese scone served with pickle, pickled onions, and two slices of mild cheddar." I would describe the scone as barely warmed and lacking any cheesy flavour, the sandwich pickle was fine but the 5 small pickled onions were served with no means of picking them up other than fingers, which were then covered in vinegar. The mild cheese slices were less than generous and of the tasteless plastic cheese variety. I give this personal opinion in the hope that the proprietors may wish to review this offering, other a nice little café.

Been coming here for years now and never had reason to complain until today. £13 for a large breakfast ( 2 of everything) which when it came was a standard breakfast everywhere else. £35 for 2 breakfasts and sausage on toast with tea and coffee is very excessive. Bring back the original owners when it was good value and busy unlike today empty and expensive

Really great cafe. Very clean, nice decor. We had the breakfast baps were very tasty. Dog friendly the staff were lovely with our wheaten. The specials were giant Yorkshire puddings with various fillings which did look very good, think we will be trying next time! We would definitely return and would recommend.

Nestled in a picturesque location, Bell Mills Garden Centre is a delightful destination for garden enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. During my recent visit, I picked up some garden paint they had set aside for me and stumbled upon a charming dove cote that needed some love. After giving it a makeover at home, I couldn't be happier with the result! The staff here are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist.
Went to Bell Mills Garden Centre to pick up a can of garden paint that they kindly put aside for me to collect. While there I found a dove cote reduced, it had been outside for some time and need some TLC, bought it home and after some cleaning, sanding and a few coats of plant later I'm over the moon, just love it. Here's the pictures as promised ( once I had renovated it). Very friendly helpful staff. Love to see the ducks.

This Garden Centre is in such a lovely location and has a great range of products. Over the years we have bought all manner of garden supplies from here; today I was collecting really good quality flour for my husband’s bread making. Pictured is a really lovely planter - a birthday present from my husband. There is a really good selection of planters, garden statues and lots more for the garden. Highly recommended.
Anne S — Google review
Very reasonably priced garden centre, I have a small plot of land I am turning into a wildlife garden , I have bought all my shrubs and trees from bell mills as they offer free delivery and trees and shrubs are cheaper than anywhere else, also really lovely helpful staff!

Love the friendly staff & atmosphere in& outside. Always nice to buy the duck food & feed the ducks .Just wish they did real Cumberland sausages or Lincolnshire ones ,would make there breakfasts even tastier 😋.

Went to bell Mills to get some nice plants and top soil had niether and not many plants full stop gone really down hill regarding plants hardly out isn't that what garden centres are for...real shame indeed maybe someone will give it a big shake up use to be great years ago

Lovely little garden centre with more stock than you would think it possible to squeeze in. The staff are very helpful.

Been before & had a lovely time including a bite to eat at the cafe. Checked website yesterday to make sure open today with it being Easter weekend. Despite stating open Sunday 10 til 4 we arrived at 12.30 to find it closed. 34 mile round trip for nothing. Disappointed!

Lovely staff and equally lovely pastries & cakes. Costello's offers a nice relaxed environment for that afternoon tea and cake. Prices may not be competitive but as Grandma always used to say, "you get what you pay for." :-)

Good coffee and tea, milk alternatives available, nice selection of cakes including gluten free. Very friendly staff and a warm welcome.

The baked goods were delicious but the cafe really does need a makeover! The tearoom needs kitchen area screening to the side near freezer. Loo itself was clean but the table and corners were cobwebby/grubby. It is difficult, as you wouldn't want to lose the cosy feel of the place!

Excellent range of cakes and savoury snacks available as well as drinks. Friendly staff and pleasent surroundings. Positioned on the main Street making it wheelchair friendly and convenient for the carparks.

Nestled within a charming garden center, the #Stove Cafebistro is a delightful spot that offers an array of fresh meals, delectable cakes, and exceptional coffee. This cozy eatery has quickly become my go-to for breakfast and lunch in the area. The inviting atmosphere features a warm wood-burning stove that adds to its charm. On my recent visit, I enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast with generous portions—especially the standout sausages!
Tucked away, this well stocked garden centre has the extra added bonus of the #Stove bistro, serving delicious fresh food, cake and fantastic coffee. I also called in for a very reasonably priced cooked smaller breakfast, substantial and tasty, with a variety of your breakfast favourites. Friendly, obliging staff, spotlessly clean, and the warmth and comfort of the blazing wood burning stove. Now my preferred place for cooked breakfast, lunch and coffee when I'm in the area.
Kath B — Google review
We popped here one Sunday for breakfast and what a little gem we have found. The atmosphere was lovely and the cafe is dog friendly. The food portions were plentiful and the star of the show on the breakfast was the sausages which were delicious. I wasn't expecting that toast was extra, usually it comes with the breakfast, but it was delicious all the same. Unfortunately the food was warm and not hot , we did let the server know and she advised us that they had some new staff in the kitchen so hopefully this wouldn't happen next time. In addition to this, my hubby ordered a flat white which was on the small side, so as the food took some time to come, he had drank it all before his food arrived. Next time we will either order more than one drink for him or look to see if they have a larger drink that he could order. The staff were lovely and very efficient. Overall a good experience and we will be back to try some other dishes on a delicious looking menu.
Sarah R — Google review
Attached to and part of the garden centre this cafe/bistro is an amazing place for a meal or just a coffee and slice of cake! There is a large car park although it is a little bumpy and can be wet and muddy in bad weather. The toilets are external to the cafe located in the bike shop/garage on your way in from the car park. The entrance way to the cafe is ace, decked out really well as a log tunnel. Once inside the area is spacious and welcoming, the staff were welcoming and friendly; straight away you are presented with a fantastic cake/pastry display. Menus were offered and taken immediately there was plenty to choose from I decided to have the bacon, brie panini which came with salad and chips. I also couldn’t resist a slice of quiche, there were many to choose from. The coffee was very good I chose to have mine with oat milk and the classic americano but again there were a lot of options. Outdoor seating is available if the weather allows, some of it is covered some is completely open air. The selection of cakes and bakes in addition to the menu is excellent with so much to choose from you’ll struggle to make a decision. There is also a decent kids menu and milkshakes available….we had 2 children in our party, they left very full and very happy indeed. Based on this experience I will certainly be back; I used to go to the cafe in the farm shop almost opposite but actually I think I will prefer this venue in future mainly because there are more options on offer.

If you're looking for a delightful pit stop during your cycling adventures, "The Bike Cave" is the place to be! Nestled in a welcoming atmosphere, this charming café offers an impressive breakfast menu on Fridays and Saturdays, with hopes of expanding it based on demand. The diverse clientele reflects its community spirit, enhanced by their thoughtful pay-by-post-it scheme.
First time absolutely brilliant well priced . we wr lucky got our bikes inside not knowing they have an outside and bike racks 👍 sincerely enjoyed be back again thank you
Pauline S — Google review
A pretty neat cafe with bike shop attached. Most of the seating are leather sofas and chairs, so most tables seat at least 4 people. Comfortable, but could be intimidating for 1 diner. Very bike oriented and there is space to park your bikes inside. Good for groups. Reasonable food and drink at a moderate price.
Stewart D — Google review
Lovely place. Owners gave us a place to dry our shoes as we’d been cycling in the rain. They also fixed a puncture we had very promptly and very cheap aswell.
Angus — Google review
Had an excellent breakfast here in fact I would go as far to say that it was the best breakfast I have had for a long time. I believe that,at the moment the breakfasts are only on the menu friday and Saturday but may be expanded to other days if the demand is there. Overall although cycling is at the heart of the business there is diverse mix of customers. Good range of coffee tea and light bites. They also have the Community in mind and run a pay by post it scheme which is a nice touch. All in All a good local business well worth visiting.

My first time visiting "The Bike Cave" . I had cycled 23 miles to get there so on my very first arrival I was disheveled and sweating, great first impression on my part, but the lovely ladies weren't judgey. Anyway, I was told by my cycling companion it was worth a trip, and it certainly delivered. Lovely hot chocolate. The young lady decided she'd toast the marshmallows, having never done that before. It was a lovely touch. All the foods look fantastic, it was very busy but the ladies still had time to smile for you. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Apparently they do a great pork, apple sauce and stuffing sandwich.. According to my travel buddy I have to cycle more miles before I'm rewarded with such a treat.. I'll do the miles.. I love places where the food is good and the staff mirror the same standards.

First time eating out since last year. After seeing on Facebook page outside eating available thought we would try it. Best sausage sandwich I think we have ever eaten. Coffee selection good always like the drinks at bike cave. Thank you for safe eating outside area.

Stopped here with 4 friends while riding the coast to coast way of the roses. We were cold wet, tired and hungry. We stood looking through the front door of cafe / shop assuming it was closed as it was well past 5pm but we were beckoned in by the warm and welcoming staff. Great wholesome food and friendly banter, highly recommend a stop. Big thank you to the staff 😊

This was my first visit to cafe Nora, and I shall definitely be back. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and modern. I’m not one for eating out a lot these days as I find it quite disappointing. But the food was beautiful,I had the eggs on sourdough bread. To be honest I wanted to try everything, also took home plenty of homemade cakes for my family. Girls you have been amazing thank you I shall be back soon 👌🏻

First visit to Cafe Nora today. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and dog friendly….what’s not to like??? Highly recommended and a lovely addition to the high street, we’ll definitely be back. Ps Lulu approved of the sausages. ❤️

What a great addition to the Driffield High Street! This is the sister cafe to Cafe Nora in Cottingham and opened quite recently. I popped in for a coffee and cake and was struck by the lovely ambience. It was quite busy but there was a variety of seating options including lovely settees either low tables. The menu is extensive and offers something a little different to the other venues; my brownie was a good size and other meals I saw looked generous sizes too; will definitely be back! My Americano with oat milk was just right, accompanied by a delicious brownie. Staff are lovely and very attentive.

Amazing new cafe in Driffield - exactly what the town has needed. Service was amazing and staff very polite and friendly. Family friendly with excellent facilities for little ones, including high chairs and changing facilities. The food tasted amazing and beautifully presented. Will be coming back regularly.

Worst breakfast I have ever had. When you order scrambled eggs “soft” and get over cooked chewy eggs it shows that the staff don’t listen to the customers. Then it is served on a side plate, I suppose thats to make it look like a decent portion, but it’s falling off the plate. Very poor food and service, won’t be going back there🤔
