Cajun restaurant

Restaurant
Located in a historic building, Bourbon Street Grille is a popular restaurant in downtown Dahlonega, offering authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. The restaurant features multiple dining rooms, a full bar, an outdoor patio, and a small balcony upstairs. Known for its New Orleans-inspired dishes, the menu includes favorites like Fried Seafood Sampler and brunch options such as shrimp & grits and Lost Bread French toast.
Delicious! Gator bites were perfection. The doing sauce tastes like its some sort of horse radish mixture. I personally do not like horse radish in the slightest but recommend this sauce. The steak was fall apart tender and lightly seasoned so the flavors would mix with the other items of the sandwich. My partner got the shrimp and grits. I didn't expect them to come out with such a colorful and flavorful dish. The flavors came in waves and the shrimp was perfect. The corn bread piece is the size of a large muffin. The mixture had some pepper pieces in it but the flavor was just enough to make it delicious!! Will for sure be back for more! The atmosphere was very relaxed but fun. Outside seating and kids menus also available. The outside tables have a gated wooden wrap around dance so if your traveling with a pet you don't have to leave then I'm the car with this pet friendly option. Location was also a huge perk! Lord of local shops with anything and everything you could think of well priced.

This place is Amazing. ! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with a warm and inviting decor that sets the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The service is top-notch - our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The food is Creole and Cajun-inspired Southern cuisine at its finest. We ordered the Rice and Beans, and shrimp and grits, all of which were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. If you're looking for a delicious meal in a charming setting, Bourbon Street Grill is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!"

My husband and I had dinner here with my in-laws last night. We originally went upstairs to the bar area, and almost decided against staying. It was loud and the temp was pretty hot. The hostess mentioned that there was also seating downstairs. We were so glad we decided to go downstairs. The dining room was so spacious and cool. It was such a cool atmosphere. The service was great, too! Now to the best part. The food. Oh my goodness!! I don’t think any review can do justice for the food we had. We started with the Crawfish Dip appetizer, which came with homemade pita tortilla chips. It was amazing! Then our main dishes showed up and, Y’ALL!!!! The food was out of this world! My husband and mother-in-law ordered the Seafood Platter. It was the freshest seafood, with the lightest batter. Crawfish, oysters, mahi, crab puppies (literally mini crab cake balls) and fries. It was incredible. My father-in-law ordered the Muffaletta Sandwich with roasted sweet potatoes. Those sweet potatoes were chef’s kiss 🤌🏻😘 I ordered the Crab Cakes & Shrimp. It was the most delicious meal I’ve ever eaten. Two huge crab cakes topped with grilled shrimp, served over top a bed of Bourbon Street rice, blended with colored bell peppers, mushrooms, and spinach sautéed in homemade Alfredo sauce. I can’t even describe the flavor profile. My tongue was in euphoria! Bourbon Street Grille is a MUST TRY when you visit Dahlonega. The prices were fair, the portion sizes were large, and the atmosphere was great.

There are lots of good places to eat in Dahlonega. I've eaten at many of them. This place is a little better than average. Here are some pros and cons. Pros: 1. The service is decent. She forgot to put in our beignet order, but I get it that she was busy. All and all... it's a little better than average service. 🍽️ 💚 2. It's a really nice atmosphere. There are lots of windows and outdoor seating. The building itself looks like an old Victorian style home. (no booths though) 🏡 ✨ 3. The cornbread muffins are the best you'll ever taste! 😋 Cons: 1. Everything is super spicy - even the shrimp and grits, which our server told us was the least spicy entree. If you like the heat, you'll love it. 🔥 2. It's overpriced in my opinion. My mom and I had lunch there, and it was $60 which seemed too high for what we got. 🤑 3. The menus were dirty. 🤢 (that always skeeves me out) They weren't terrible dirty, but dirty enough to make you go wash your hands after ordering. Since there are so many good places to eat in and around the Dahlonega Square, we probably won't go back here. It's too spicy for us. With that said, if you like spicy food, you should give it a go! You'll probably love it. 🔥😋

Just ate lunch on their balcony. What a treat! Such nice ambiance with the old building, plants and trees. I had the Dirty Shrimp that was delicious! Our server, Anne, was super sweet. Very pleasant place for a relaxed enjoyable meal. Prices were decent too! Will definitely try to come back if we are ever in the area.
Susan B — Google review
Excellent lunch with a large variety of food options. I had the Bourbon club sandwich and my wife had the special of the day which was a fried chicken sandwich with cheese and a house made apple jelly topping which was excellent. Place can be loud but the food was excellent.
Michael B — Google review
The food was amazing and service was equally as good, probably a good thing that I don't live close by, I would be here at least a couple times a week. The only drawbacks are that it isn't very vegetarian friendly and it is upstairs so also not a place for anyone with physical challenges so if you have those situations, check it out ahead of time.
Pamela S — Google review
WOW! This was some real-deal, delicious New Orleans fare. The portion sizes you get, and for their prices?!! An astronomically good deal. Not only do they not skimp on their portion sizes, the quality of their seafood is superior; the mahi and shrimp were so, so fresh, and both were cooked to perfection—an absolute delight to eat. Not to mention they have the sweetest staff and truly make you feel welcomed. ❤️ Highly, highly recommended! (Also, a very special shoutout to their use of compostable take-out boxes; the Earth appreciates you!)

Restaurant
The Picnic Cafe and Dessertery is a delightful, old-fashioned bakery and cafe located in the heart of Dahlonega. This charming spot exudes a friendly, small-town vibe and has been serving freshly baked homemade cakes, pastries, bread, and sweets for over 18 years.
While in Dahlonega, we had lunch at Picnic Cafe. It was delicious! My husband had the turkey sandwich/fruit/potato salad and I had the egg salad (delicious!)/pasta salad. Everything was so good and tasty! The restaurant was clean, good service and we loved their choice of music! We brought a piece of Hummingbird Cake back to our trailer to enjoy! We’re from Oklahoma, but if we lived closer, this is a place we would come to often!
Nana T — Google review
The food was good, it wasn't amazing. My iced coffee was kind of flavorless and my hard fried egg tasted and looked more like a scrambled egg. The deviled eggs were more on the savory side, I like mine with relish, but it was flavorful and seasoned well. The fruit was a slice of watermelon, 3 apple slices and 2 pieces of oranges for nearly $6, that was highly disappointing. My daughter said her sausage gravy biscuits were good, they looked good and her strawberry smoothie. The cookies were good. The inside was very small with a handful of big tables. It was pretty loud and busy. The service was fantastic, I'd go back just for the service.

I went to Picnic Cafe for lunch during the Bear on the Square festival this past Saturday. Even on such a busy day, the staff was so friendly, the food was prepared quickly, and everything was delicious! One of the servers, Emilie, told me about a special for their desserts that I could not pass up. Ending up getting a cookie and icecream to go with my chili. Absolutely delicious! 10/10 recommend
Carlie T — Google review
This place is so CUTE and DELICIOUS! A Southern Egg Salad on a croissant, a half sandwich of Pimento Cheese BLT on sourdough and a Boars Head Roasted Turkey Sandwich on cracked wheat bread was ordered. The egg salad had Gala apples and it works. The subtle sweetness and crunch was something I never knew I needed in egg salad. The Pimento Cheese in the BLT is a homemade recipe. We have had pimento cheese before and wasn’t the biggest fan, but this stuff was absolutely amazing. It was creamy, rich and a total flavor bomb. We will be thinking about this sandwich for a very long time. The Turkey Sandwich was huge and the bread was so soft and fresh. A cup of the white bean chili and tomato basil bisque was ordered as well. The white bean chili was flavored really well and had a nice little bite to it. The tomato basil bisque was creamy with nice size pieces of tomatoes and the basil flavor was very pronounced. If you are EVER in this area, this is a must go to place for a bite to eat. Like, share and follow on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok @gbdiningdykes

Had a wonderful lunch at Picnic Cafe a few weekends ago! It’s super cute inside and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the pimento BLT, which was divine, with a cup of Brunswick Stew, which was decent. The potato salad was BANGING. Both of my dining partners also enjoyed their food as well, would go back and recommend.

This is an adorable little spot to cop a squat if you've got the munchies. I definitely recommend it if you're in the Dahlonega Square. I'm going to list a few pros and cons to make your decision easier. 😋💕💚 PROS: 1. They live up to their name and have a ton of desserts (cakes) to choose from. If you have a sweet tooth, this is your place! 2. They open early and serve breakfast, which is a nice treat if you're in the Square at that time. 3. The people who work there are super nice. I asked them to explain the different cakes (there were a couple exotic ones), etc. They were very happy to do that. 4. The Brunswick stew and cornbread are realllly good! The cornbread has little pieces of corn kernels in it. Yummm!!! 🌽😋 5. They have a nice, clean bathroom. To me, the way a place maintains their bathroom gives you a peek into how they maintain the back of the restaurant (where you can't see). CONS: 1. It's small inside so the best option is to get one of the 3 little tables outside. In order to do that, you have to get there before 10:30am. If you can snag one of those tables, it's really nice (perfect for people-watching). 👀 Before we got up to leave, there were a few people loitering around us waiting for our table. 😂 Those outdoor tables are in high demand on pretty days! 2. Once it gets busy inside, the servers kinda forget about the people outside. That was no problem for us. I just got off my butt and walked inside. Some people might not like that though. 3. As always (this is just a general "con") --- parking in the square can be a challenge. Just get there early. If you want to stop by this place on a whim at lunchtime, you will likely have to park far away and walk. My picture is of the "BBQ Plate." It didn't look like I expected, but it was very tasty! See the little container? I don't know what that was. I wasn't brave enough to try it. Maybe pickles or peppers? Even without that, it was delish! 😋💕💚

Great little cafe on the square downtown! Breakfast and lunch options all day, with a vast array of delicious desserts! Great service, we’ll be back for sure!!
Ben C — Google review
Good food and service. This place is always packed. We had lunch but many people were coming in for desserts. We did not have a dessert however, they did look delicious. The sitting area is extremely small but they do have outside seating, too. If you prefer a heated sandwich, you’ll need to make that request.

Breakfast at this place AINT NO JOKE! Reasonably priced and good food. I think we were the only ones in the place that didn't get a cinnamon roll with our meal. We regret that decision. :-)
Richard D — Google review
So glad we found this place! Breakfast anytime is wonderful. We had to have a cinnamon roll with our coffee. Both were fresh and delicious. My husband had the giant "rubbish" omelet and I had super tender, perfectly cooked pancakes, eggs and sausage. The service was really great. I can't wait to return for the shrimp and grits
Susan R — Google review
Casual, wonderful friendly staff. Great breakfast, cinnamon roll is one of the best had. Sausage and gravy is so yummy 😋

The food here is fantastic! They have a variety of breakfast options, and their lunch and dinner options are also very tasty. Also just look how big this fish sandwich is??? I got the Reuben, but we both left with leftovers, a full stomach, and a good time. We’ve been here several times before for breakfast, and this is a consistent experience.
Oskar A — Google review
This place is rustic! They serve the entire menu all day. I ordered an appetizer portion of fried chicken livers (for breakfast), grits and hush puppies. Absolutely delicious. It is unusual to find fried chicken livers in restaurants and they know how to cook them. The small portion is 1/2 lb and it is a plate full. Very very reasonable prices. The wait staff was friendly and warm.

Amazing burgers, onion rings, and dipping sauce. Probably one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. The best onion rings I’ve ever had, and the burger is among my top three all time. Casual and comfortable environment. Large selection of beer and affordable prices. I absolutely love this place. When return to Dahlonega I will definitely eat here again.

Great Atmosphere & Delicious Food! We enjoyed a wonderful meal here with beautiful outdoor seating by the fire. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting — perfect for a fall evening. We ordered the Shepherd’s Pie and Bangers and Mash, both full of rich flavor and comfort. The mashed potatoes were creamy and topped with melted cheese, and the toasted bread on the side was buttery and crisp — perfect for dipping. The sausages were cooked perfectly and paired nicely with the onions, peppers, and mustard sauce. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, hearty meal and a relaxing dining experience.
Amy T — Google review
Stopped in to try something new as I was making it up to Helen (like literally everyone else) and this was the restaurant that caught my eye. I had no wait and the staff was awesome, personally no complaints on that end. I ordered the honey lemon pepper chicken sandwich bc I wanted to try something new and well, it’s aight. The chicken was tender and it overall tasted good, but not my forte. The bun was fall apart soggy bc of all the honey. They’ve got tons of options so you won’t have a problem finding something.
Noah F — Google review
Came for dinner on on Thursday during a trip. Sat on the inside patio. It was hot. Windows with screens were open so the people waiting outside and smoking allowed the smoke to come in on top of us. Both got the Shepherd's Pie, which is cottage pie since it's made with beef mince instead of lamb. It was tasty and well seasoned. We got the linch portion and it was a good size. Our server, Kennedy, was very nice. Wish we could have sat inside with the AC, but oh well.

First time there with my awesome friend and my awesome husky Otto. The place did not disappoint. The staff and other customers and their dogs were awesome! The food/drinks and patio atmosphere was on point. Will definitely patronize this restaurant again!

🍤🐟 Shenanigans – Dahlonega, GA 🐟🍤 Date night win! 😋 My husband went for the Fish & Chips and I tried the Shrimp Linguine — OMG, delicious! The shrimp were seasoned to absolute perfection, and the fish & chips? My husband hasn’t stopped talking about them — he says they’re some of the BEST he’s ever had! 🙌🏾💯 The staff was warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. 💖 If you haven’t visited Shenanigans yet, trust me… it’s well worth the drive! 🚗✨

Loved this place! Came to eat somewhere else and found out it was closed, ate here instead and couldn’t have been happier. Four of us ate here together and ordered a variety of options and we all loved our meals. We got a regular burger, a veggie burger, a hotdog, and a chicken sandwich and each one was super flavorful after we chose our style! Tried the Mac & cheese bites and apparently so did every other table around us and I can definitely understand why! We also got the boiled peanuts which were delicious and a huge portion :p The two drinks we got were tasty and worth it! Would definitely come back as this place is perfect for a vegetarian, the burger and pasta salad were a 10/10!

My absolute favorite place ever!! As a local, trust me. They are the best. Great food, great service, amazing people. You can’t get any better than that. Off The Leash hotdog and tots are my favorite thing to get! The macaroni bites are to die for.

I think this place has taken ownership of the best burger Ive had. Not only was it cooked to perfection (medium rare for me). But it was also so delicious! This is what a burger should be like everytime you order one, Spirits Tavern set the standard for all other burgers going forward. I didnt try any of the drinks but definitely will next time. I also loved the atmosphere and I'm going to be honest....the bathroom was...amazing. I know is dumb to be talking about the bathroom but it was a nice clean bathroom. Okay no more about the bathroom but the whole place was amazing great service and wonderful food....and bathrooms! 10/10!

We came to visit during the Gold Rush Festival and the service was great, food delicious and we will definitely return. I loved the variety and the ability to create the sandwich with whatever protein I wanted with the options they had available. We tried the Augusta with chicken sandwich, the fried tomatoes were so good and fresh, the pineapple and ginger mocktail, and the beef burger with gouda, ohh and the tots were one of a kind. It was all wonderful. I also need to mention that they accommodated a group of 10 without a problem (just with a heads up call)

Service and food were great. The burgers are pretty huge. I thought I needed a double but probably would have been able to keep my self respect intact with a single. They have some really creative mouth watering burger combos. Oh and the fried kale brussels were incredible. Good craft beer selection

What a great place! We enjoyed the fried green beans served with horseradish sauce. The burgers were cooked perfectly, huge and delicious (mine was the dragon’s breath). Olivia, our server was delightful and attentive. Tater tots all the way!!

Starbucks, a renowned coffeehouse chain originating from Seattle, is known for its distinctive coffee blends, delectable snacks, and provision of WiFi. It has a presence on the campus of The University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, offering a cozy lounge area with outdoor seating. This particular Starbucks at 110 South Chestatee Street is an integral part of the community and offers an array of light, medium, and dark roast coffees sourced globally.
I’ve never had a bad experience at this Starbucks. Every employee that I’ve interacted with greets me and smiles when I walk in. The music and coffee are great, but the people are the best, especially Margie!
Chris W — Google review
This location is really either hit or miss. I don't go too often, but it's really disappointing when I finally do and my drink isn't even right. First caramel macchiato I had here was one of the best I've ever had; next time I went, couldn't even take one sip. Last time I got a mocha cookie crumble, they didnt include the little crunchies and syrup on top which isn't the end of the world ofc, probably a result of them being outta stock of the stuff, but kinda disappointing. It's a Starbucks, so yk.
Natalya ( — Google review
This store every single day gets my order wrong or is always out of stuff. It is not just one person. It’s every employee. Rudest can be, Lady was talking to me for a second and then went to another customer and when I was replying to what she was asking me she’s like one moment I’m helping someone with the most sassy snarky voice, a second after asking me a question.

With a common entrance to the UNG Dahlonega bookstore, I was expecting it to be busy with the school year spinning up. But on a Sunday morning, it was reasonably quiet. And just as well as the two baristas were having trouble keeping up with the flow. While I sat with my coffee and laptop, I watched the queue grow by 7 or 8 folks. And that's without a drivethrough! Comfortable seating, good wifi and my coffee was decent. Inside and outside seating. And unlike the other coffee shop I visited this morning, I didn't feel like I was "taking up" a table for 90 minutes with my laptop.

Great study environment right in the heart of town! The service has always been excellent and I like the fact that they employee a lot of students. When I am looking for somewhere more relaxed than HOAG, this is where I go! The view from the upstairs patio is fantastic but can get a little cold during the winter months.

Best service here! Wonderful manager Margie and Auby! I feel happy when I walk in to this location. The coffee is made with love and I 💯 recommend 👌

Great place to get a cup of iced coffee and study! Coffee is Starbucks, but it is not an actual Starbucks location. This means that you can not preorder ahead of time using the app or Alexa. The barista’s here are really nice, and some of them are students here at the college. Ample sitting spaces either upstairs or downstairs, with both an upstairs patio and a downstairs patio where you can bring a dog and enjoy the day!

Breakfast restaurant
The Corner Kitchen in Dahlonega, Georgia is a family-owned deli that opened its doors in April 2016. This local establishment is known for its top-notch deli sandwiches and salads. They also offer a variety of breakfast options, including a delicious breakfast sandwich with an egg frittata, locally made sausage, cheddar cheese, and a homemade biscuit. The staff at this deli are friendly and the food consistently receives high praise.
A cozy quiet place for a bite. The sandwich was fresh and yummy. A friend and her 2 year old were eating with me. One of the male servers stayed patiently while the 2 year old discussed apples with him ❤️ very sweet interaction. We sat on the patio and enjoyed our meal and conversation.

Found this great spot on Google as we passed through. Stopped in for a Cuban and a BLT. Both were delicious and they did not skimp on the meat! The broccoli slau was amazing.Great little place. Give them a try! You will be happy you did!

We are new to the area and have now found a regular spot for us! The Corner Kitchen is fabulous! We got the Cuban and the Turkey with Brie and Granny Smith Apples. Yummy! Great outdoor seating and located close to the Square. We will be back!

Very tasty and reasonably priced sandwich shop in town. It’s a great post-hike spot. The Roast Beef sandwich is delicious and the staff behind the counter is super friendly. The coffee was great as well as the pumpkin pie flavored fudge to satisfy a little sweet tooth. Looking forward to going back on my next trip to Dahlonega!

Delicious lunch for a quick pit stop as I passed through town. Got the Cuban, Greek pasta salad and an unsweetened tea. I was happy with all of it! The Cuban was my favorite part though and had the perfect balance of flavor and crunch. Highly recommend!

The owner was very friendly and made us feel at home. The coffee (which they grow on their farm in Costa Rica) was very good. I had the white bean chicken chili with grilled cheese and my wife had the ham and cheese frittata. Both were excellent. The patio was warm and comfortable on a cold January morning.

Great sandwich shop. Smells great, inside and out. The Reuben and Muffaletta were excellent. Didn't eat there but there is a lot of outdoor seating and plenty of parking.
Kai B — Google review
I love the sandwiches, but I remember when they were $8. I want to support local, but it's getting harder and hard to pay $12.50 after tax and CC fees for one sandwich, plus the added pressure to tip. :( I realize things have gone up, but that's a significant jump. What's next? A $15 sandwich? You can only go so high before locals can't afford it. Edited to add: I got the roast beef. Pic for scale (I have small hands). This is usually a hot, melty, delicious sandwich. This time, half of it was warmish, and the other half was cold. It was to-go, and I didn't have time to go back. It's just especially disappointing, because if you're going to pay that much for a Whopper Jr sized sandwich, it should be consistently warm at the bare minimum.

Canopy + the Roots Coffee is a unique and vibrant space that offers a blend of experiences. The venue features an underground listening room with a speakeasy vibe, where artists and audiences come together. Upstairs, there's a glass studio for yoga enthusiasts, while the social house serves up hot Costa Rican coffee. The decor style is praised for its appeal, and visitors can even purchase soft shirts with charming designs representing Canopy & The Roots.
Stopped in at Canopy and the roots for coffee while exploring Dahlonega. And wow The coffee was so smooth and delicious! The inside is beautiful and uniquely decorated. Loved the atmosphere. Also super busy location but the barista was so friendly patient and kind with all the customers. I will definitely recommend 10/10 ☕️ 🤎 if only it were closer to home (Alabama) this would be my morning coffee spot!

Coffee Shop No. 474 Canopy + the Roots Coffee Dalhonega, GA March 10, 2025 Canopy + the Roots Coffee gave me the impression that community is their focus. It looks like a typical coffee shop with bright natural light, plants in the window (which I think were fake), and fantastic coffee. When you start to explore a bit you learn the shop has so much more to offer like yoga classes, live music, comedy shows, and merchandise from local artists. The barista was sweet too. University of North Georgia is right around the corner so I imagine Canopy + Roots Coffee is a second home to many of them. The cortado was placed in ceramic cup with no handles; kinda like a bowl. It cradled perfectly in my hand. It was served a little on the cool side, but it was my favorite cortado in Dahlonega. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Visiting from Florida and cannot say enough great things about Dylan and Diane! They were awesome! I got a blueberry basil cold brew and it was delicious, the employees were telling me about the area and even giving me recommendations which I appreciated. If you’re in the area I recommend stopping by, you won’t regret it! Also the ambience is very welcoming and cozy, nice little place to relax.

We went to Canopy + the Roots Coffee and just fell in love with the place. Such a great setting and the coffee was great. We never had coffee before with oat milk but I will tell you that it was great. The peanut butter latte hot is a must.

I really love this place! It's a nice place to get coffee or tea. And it's a great place to go to see live performances downstairs without traveling a long ways away. I've been to 3 and had a good time every time. The place is attractively decorated.
Lanie — Google review
Maybe we got them on a bad day, but the staff was pretty cold towards us. Sadly, the quality of the coffee didn’t make up for the poor service. After buying two coffee drinks we asked for a glass or cup for water, which we were refused. We were told we had to buy a bottle. It’s pretty bad when you have to pay extra for water at a place that clearly has a working sink and can provide tap water. A little bit of warm service would go a long way.
Sullivan C — Google review
I was surprised to discover a new coffee shop had opened up right under my nose when I wasn’t paying attention. This is comfortable, well-decorated place with great energy, attractive furnishings, and friendly staff. There is an adjacent yoga studio next to the upstairs coffee space and a music listening room in the basement. I even noticed that one of my favorite musicians has been booked to perform there this weekend- bonus! The coffee is good and the snacks are tasty. The idea of opening a place like this must have been a good one, because there was already a great crowd of happy-looking enthusiastic customers, including students and locals. This is already looking like an excellent addition to the neighborhood and I’m expecting success for this worthwhile venture. Check it out.

Pizza restaurant
Gustavo's Scratch Kitchen, located in Dahlonega, is a popular spot known for its delicious pizzas made from scratch. From the dough to the sauces and dressings, everything is prepared in-house. The restaurant also offers a variety of beers, ciders, and cocktails to complement their tasty pizzas. Despite some waiting time for a table reservation, the overall experience was positive with friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere.
We had no intention of getting pizza, but the smell wafting out of this restaurant changed our minds. We circled back and proceeded to have an amazing experience. The service was lovely, and the pizza was fantastic. I asked for a gluten free option, and it turns out they make a GF crust from scratch, which is basically unheard of! It was easily the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. Also, random, but the soundtrack playing in the restaurant was epic and really enjoyable. Don’t miss checking them out if you’re in Dahlonega!

The kitchen sink pizza was pretty good, all other pizzas that we ordered were decent but were incredibly burnt on the bottom… Service was great though.
Riana K — Google review
We were in the area for a bachelorette trip and wanted a quick bite after driving to town. Gustavo’s was right there and we decided to hit it. Dianna was so nice and made sure our order was good and that we were okay waiting, even offered us water, and her henchman Brady/Bradley showed up at the end as we were leaving and told us to add him to my review. He was cool I guess. Jk the vibes were so good and we bumped into the owner and he was super chill and bubbly in a manly way. We got the garlic knots and two large pizzas and they were so good. The pizzas were delicious and definitely fed 7 women. 10/10 recommend this pizza place. I’m sorry we don’t have photos, we ate everything too fast. The mints in the bowl are also really good, they’re the soft kind.

Conveniently located right in the downtown area with outside seating available. We ordered the pizza and it was reasonably priced and very tasty with fresh topping ingredients. The cocktails are priced within reason and well crafted. The service was very courteous, friendly and attentive . The only item of contention is they only have one restroom for the entire restaurant. During crowded times, it was ridiculous how many people were in line and how long you had to wait to use the restroom and/or wash your hands. They really need to try and fix this issue.

Pizza was phenomenal, owner was very nice 👍 they did not discriminate even though I got pineapple on my pizza, they have very bomb ranch and Cesar dressing

Stopped here for lunch and got a calzone and meatball sub. The wait time for food was pretty long. My calzone came out with the cheese still cold and it was not cooked. The server took it back and we ordered pizza instead because we did not want to wait to have another calzone be cooked if it took that long the first time and it wasn’t even cooked through. My fiancé had completely finished his meatball sub and been sitting for a while before the pizza came out. Pizza was decent, toppings were sparse. I have had better. Server was sweet and my partners meatball sub was good but I’m not sure if $17 was appropriate for the portion. He asked for another order but they were out apparently. They did cover the cost of the pizza but we will pass next time we are in Dahlonega and go somewhere else.

AMAZING! Chef Rene has a great love of food and puts his heart into the design and execution of the menu. STOP BY AND YOU WILL LOVE THIS FOOD! I had some free time on the Sunday of Dahlonega's Gold Rush Festival, so I wandered around looking for dinner. Most of the Festival Food Booths seemed expensive for the food offered ($20+) and many restaurants had Festival Menus with similarly priced menus. I walked into Gustavo's Pizzeria (name on building) and had no special expectations. It looked like an average pizzeria with other Italian options. The Italian Sausage sandwich with Peppers and Onions appealed to me. It was priced $15 and came with Chips or a Pasta Salad. Before my food arrived, my phone rang and I had to leave quickly for an urgent task. This Sit Down order was changed to a Take Away order and I left. 2 hours later, I was home and finally ate the dinner without reheating it. THIS MEAL WAS PHENOMENAL! Mind you, the sandwich was cold and had sat in my car for 2 hours. The quality of the Italian Sausage was excellent. (I'm originally from Chicago and am no stranger to exceptional Italian Sauage.) The Pasta Salad was very tangy. It had a strong flavor of olives and other spices to it. This meal was such an unexpected treat! The next weekend, I returned to Dahlonega and brought my 85 year old father with to try this same menu item hot. The meal did not disappoint and I spoke in person with the Head Chef Rene. This is a man whose love and care for food is apparent by how he talks about the menu. Chef Rene said he is looking for a smaller bread to serve the Sausage on, so that the Sausage/Bread balance is proportional. He also is changing the menu to add more traditional Italian items to the menu. I look forward to my next visit to Guatavo's so that I can explore each item on the Menu. Mozzarella Logs (not Sticks) jumped out at me, as does the French Dip Sandwich. I haven't even had a chance to try the Pizza yet! My Sister-In-Law opened a stall at a nearby Antique Mall, so I will have many opportunities to work my way through their menu. DON'T MISS THIS LOCAL GEM OF A RESTAURANT! It's right across from the Gold Museum/Historic Lumpkin County Courthouse at the center of town. Boom...YUMMY!

Just what I needed after a long weekend. Delicious pizza and garlic rolls although the rolls could have used more garlic buttery flavor they are still good. The pizza was good too, on the thinner side of that's what you like. Decently priced. The place was chill and the staff was friendly.

I have only been wanting to find this bar since the song came out in 2017. I finally made it happen! The food was great it has some really cool artwork for sale and some really cool murals painted on the wall. My only regret was going on a Sunday, they didn't have any live music playing while we were there. The whole small town dive bar scene is amazing. We were in Dalonegah earlier in the day and went and explored the gold museum and the mines. I had no idea the bar was within walking distance of where we were while exploring the town. The staff were really sweet and helpful! I hope to go back someday!

Quaint little spot for lunch. We started with cheese curds for appetizer. Yum!My husband got the cod sandwich. Said it was good, yet nothing stood out. He got the seasoned sweet potato fries. Seasoned sweetly. I got the grilled cheese. Suffice it to say I was very surprised when it was placed in front of me. It was presented vertically because the cheese was also fried on the outside of the bread. While it was an interesting presentation, I found it difficult to eat. I ended up using a knife and fork and it was still difficult. Tasted good, but I wouldn't order again as I'm the type of person that doesn't like to work at eating their food. I would go back to dine there, but just get something different.

Best chicken fried steak I ever did have! Not drowned in gravy, just the right amount. They even made my over hard eggs perfect, whenever I ask for this I still get a runny egg but not at the Crimson Moon.

I had the spinach artichoke dip with chips that was delicious and my friend had an incredible grilled cheese that was finished off with a CHEESE casing on the outside! The salad was also good and mostly eaten before I remembered to take the pic!

GrapeVine's Casual Italian Dining is a popular spot in Dahlonega, GA, known for its familiar Italian dishes and relaxed neighborhood vibe. With over 30 years of serving the community, this eatery offers traditional favorites like Lasagna and Chicken Pamplona. The cozy atmosphere and generous portions make it a local favorite. Visitors praise the delicious entrees such as Tuscan salmon over creamy risotto and baked ziti, with enough to take home for later.
Nice place for an evening meal. My husband complimented the spaghetti sauce. My shrimp scampi was good, but it did have an onion flavor. The onion was a bit overpowering. It was good but different. The rolls and dipping sauce were good. Our dipping oil had vinegar in it so make sure you mix it up before you dip your bread in it. If you don’t mix it together you’ll quickly realize why you should. The waitress was attentive and checked on us throughout our meal. Nice relaxing place for dinner.

Great place for some excellent lunch brunch options. They have good variety of options to choose from. The bread which was served at the beginning was fluffy, excellent and great in taste. The pesto pasta Chicken, bruschetta, and flat bread were really good. Highly recommend this place for great Italian food.

Dined here on 4/25/25. They have a welcoming staff with prompt service. The place appeared clean and taken care of. The spaghetti and meatballs were pretty good, especially the meatballs. The wife had the chicken parm. The chicken was real tender. The salad was pretty big and fresh. The house dressing is real good.

I stopped by GrapeVine’s Casual Italian Dining while visiting Dahlonega for the day, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming, with a nice mix of casual and classy. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. My food came out fresh and hot — the pasta was full of flavor, and the garlic bread was amazing. The portions were generous for the price, and everything tasted homemade. I especially liked how relaxed the environment was — it felt like the kind of place where you could enjoy a nice meal without feeling rushed. The only small downside was that service slowed down a bit when the restaurant got busy, and parking around the area can be tricky at times. Other than that, it was a great dining experience overall. If you’re spending the day in Dahlonega and craving Italian food, GrapeVine’s is definitely worth the stop!

The food here is amazing. We had the chicken Parmesan with a Caesar salad and a side of pasta along with their homemade sangria. Absolutely the best sangria we’ve ever had. And to end it all the mango cheesecake amazing.

I got the chicken parmesan and it was so delicious!!! Honestly, one of the best i’ve ever had, will definitely be back for it. My waitress, Brittney, was amazing tonight and very attentive. Will recommend this place to others.
Logan R — Google review
Okay, what are we comparing it to here? If you compare GrapeVine's to Olive Garden, it gets 5 stars. If you compare it to a real Italian restaurant, it gets 3 stars. I decided on 4 stars because everything aside from the food is absolutely wonderful at GrapeVine's. 🍇 The atmosphere, the staff, the decor, the music (it’s great music), the cocktails, the beautiful bar, the price, etc… It’s all perfect in every way. 🍸 It’s not easy to ace all of those things!!! 💯 The food is the only thing that is average. 😳 It’s such a weird feeling when you leave. You walk out the door feeling happy because it’s such a good-feeling place, but you don’t take your leftovers because the food was just blah. We are from Atlanta, and maybe we are just spoiled with great restaurants. GrapeVine’s is such a fun place to go, so I find myself questioning if it’s just us. We’ve gone there about 4 times, and each time I tried to find something on the menu that was really good. It was a struggle, but I finally found something that was super tasty. It’s the Margherita Flatbread! I’ll be ordering that from now on. If you talk to Dahlonega locals, they’ll all rave about GrapeVine's, which is why it’s so bizarre to write this lukewarm review. However, there are other reasons besides the food to go there. After all, it’s a cozy little spot right off the square with friendly people, delicious cocktails and good music. 🎵 Just don’t expect to be wow’ed by the food. PS. If you ask your server what the best thing on the menu is, that person will probably say the Chicken Piccata. I don’t recommend it though. Of all the things I’ve tried, it was my least favorite. It’s very bland (no taste).
Diana A — Google review
We were in town for a wedding and stumbled upon this place for dinner, best decision EVER! The cocktails and food were amazing. Great wine menu, great wine glasses. The bread service was delicious, the caprese salad was fresh, the pasta was delicious. The cannolis and the chocolate cake, omg. Above all, what stood out the most was the service. Brittney is one of the best servers we’ve ever had. Attentive, warm, knowledgeable, and funny. Thank you for making our night so memorable Brittney!!! The owner is so kind as well. Seriously, such a great place! Can’t wait to come back.

Barbecue restaurant
North Georgia BBQ Dahlonega is a popular spot in the area, known for its traditional barbecue dishes made with freshly smoked prime cuts of meat. The casual, counter-service restaurant has been serving up delicious barbecue for over two decades. One of their signature items is the Pig Melt, a grilled cheese sandwich on Texas toast with chopped pork and a choice of BBQ sauce.
Once you’ve tasted the brisket, you will keep craving it! This was my second visit and I couldn’t wait to taste the brisket again! The portions are big enough for two people. The staff has been amazingly sweet and personable every time, a true example of southern hospitality! The side dishes are wholesome and delicious- potato salad, baked beans and the Brunswick stew!
Irina T — Google review
The BBQ was good, the coleslaw had too much salt, and the potato salad was ok with a good bacon flavor. I am appreciate the fact that the potato salad was not overly wet. The Texas toast was good. I was not a fan of the baked bean, which basically tasted like upgraded canned beans. The pulled pork was above average in flavor. I did like the quality of the pork. We appreciated the dog friendly dinner outside option. Nice touch!
Dirk E — Google review
We absolutely loved our visit here. Everything was top notch even the Texas toast. Best ribs we've had in a long time. Good portions. Fair price. Highly recommend. Oh yeah, and the sweet BBQ sauce is amazing.
Lee G — Google review
I ordered the BBQ Sandwich – Porker Size, and it did not disappoint. The toasted bun had the perfect crunch, and the pork was tender, juicy, and packed with a smoked flavor. I upgraded to a combo for just $3, which included a drink and a side—I went with the potato salad, a mayonnaise-based version that I personally prefer. The portion was just right, no complaints there. As for the sandwich, I opted for their hot BBQ sauce, but it lacked any real heat. Thankfully, they had Frank’s Hot Sauce on hand, which added the kick I was looking for—and even gave my potato salad a boost as well. Overall, this spot delivers solid BBQ, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Sorry for the late pic I normally try to take prior to digging in 🤪
Gregory J — Google review
I went there specificly for Bristket, but they were sold out. There was a long line down to the road, we went they around noon on weekend. So, we recommend to go there early to have the food you want. Anyway, Slaw was good and the BBQ was perfectly cooked. Combination of everything was so good. You can pick your own sauces for the side too.
T-bone_Skv — Google review
If you’re craving good barbecue, unfortunately this is the only spot in town…but “only” doesn’t mean “best.” The ribs are a real letdown: dry, chewy, and lacking that smoky tenderness you’d expect from proper BBQ. Instead of falling off the bone, they cling to it for dear life. The sauce can’t save them either. It’s more of a sugary cover-up than a flavor enhancer. I’ll give them credit for being the only option around, but if you’ve ever had real barbecue elsewhere, you’ll taste the difference immediately. Sometimes convenience is the only reason to stop by, not the quality.
Lifewthump — Google review
I don't know why this place isn't packed out!! The BBQ was GREAT! Pulled pork and brisket that is. Didn't try the turkey but it's next on the list. The Brunswick stew was amazing,(made the way it's supposed to be made😉) good mac&cheese and fries. Our little waiter was attentive and accommodating. Food didn't take long to arrive and the place was clean. What else can you ask for?! We're adding this to our rotation
Christie O — Google review
Our experience at North GA BBQ was terrible from start to finish. The young man taking orders claimed to be vegetarian so he wouldn’t have to make recommendations, then admitted he just says that so he doesn’t have to be helpful. It came across as rude, but we were still hopeful the food would make up for it. Unfortunately, it didn’t. We ordered a variety of items including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, mac and cheese, and baked beans, and everything ranged from bland to downright bad. The pork sandwich was so greasy that it dripped down my hand, while the brisket and ribs were dry and flavorless. The only redeeming parts were the barbecue sauce (which was good) and the outdoor seating area. Sadly, that’s not enough for us to ever go back.

Love this place. Whenever we’re in town we eat here. Authentic German cuisine, very reasonable prices and dog friendly. Give it a try.

The restaurant is located close to the center of Dahlonega GA, which makes it convenient and easy to find. The outside patio is spacious and provides a nice seating area. The service is very friendly and attentive. The menu offers a good selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The food quality is average. The Jägerschnitzel was decent, most likely fried and not pan cooked. The potatoes were also fried, which was a bit too much fried food for me. The sauce was created with mushrooms, but should have been more creamy, like it is usually served in German restaurants. The decoration and atmosphere were not really enticing and original. There is a lot of room for change. Parking was sufficient. The restaurant is dog friendly, which makes it nice for traveling guests. The price for dinner was very good.

While it might look a little rough around the edges, Reens’ does not disappoint. My husband has been to Germany a few times, and when I asked him how he’d describe the sausage sampler he had here he said, “Authentic.” They also offer eggs and side salads if you’re avoiding pork or looking for something a little lighter. We split a cheesecake, and glad we only got one for the both of us as it was on the heavier side, thick and a bit doughy, but delicious (with a hint of possibly lemon?). Service was excellent, and they made you feel welcome and cared for. My husband couldn’t stop raving about it after we left, saying how great it was. Win! Would highly recommend for anyone in the area.

I recently visited Reens' Bratzeit & Biergarten during my trip to the area, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere embraced us. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Jagersnitzel with mushroom gravy. The dish was a true delight, with the flavors blending perfectly. The tender schnitzel accompanied by the rich mushroom gravy left me craving for more. It was a culinary masterpiece. The vinegar-based potato salad served at room temperature was a revelation. It was the best potato salad I've ever had. The tangy and refreshing taste complemented the meal perfectly, making it a standout dish. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I indulged in the German cheesecake, and it was simply heavenly. The creamy texture, coupled with the delightful flavors, made it an absolute treat. I must also commend the dedication of the staff and the owner. The owner himself worked behind the bar and served us a selection of Dunkle and heirewizen beers, which were both delicious and refreshing. The cook, James, added a touch of entertainment to our dining experience with his witty banter and playful exchanges with the owner. It was an enjoyable and fun-filled evening. What struck me the most was the sense of community and camaraderie among the locals. Reens' Bratzeit & Biergarten seems to be a popular spot where everyone knows everyone. As an out-of-towner, I felt welcomed and included in the laughter and jokes shared by the locals. It was a heartwarming experience that made me feel like a part of the community, even if just for a little while. Overall, my visit to Reens' Bratzeit & Biergarten was nothing short of exceptional. The delicious food, friendly staff, and vibrant atmosphere created an experience that will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for an authentic German dining experience with a side of warm hospitality.

Great view! The food is homemade and excellent. The owner and proprietor speaks fluent German as well. Fantastic German beer selection, and classic German food. I particularly enjoyed the jager schnitzel. This is a fantastic lunch spot. Not too crowded and very quick service. Ausgutzeitchnet!

Amazing Ramen and Great Service at Zen Ramen & Bento - thank you Abby I recently visited Zen Ramen & Bento, and I was thoroughly impressed! They have a fantastic collection of ramen, each with unique flavors and options that cater to every taste. The star of the visit, however, was Abby, our server. She was incredibly helpful and took the time to guide us through the menu in detail, helping us pick the perfect dishes. If you’re ever in town and looking for a delicious and comforting meal, I highly recommend stopping by this place. You won’t be disappointed!

Zen Ramen offers a truly delightful dining experience. The flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles in their Tonkotsu ramen are a must-try. Beyond the fantastic food, the service is excellent—friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. It's a great spot for a comforting meal in downtown Dahlonega.

Danika is a fantastic server and was very helpful in guiding us on food choices. The ramen was fantastic, the chicken crunchy, and perfectly fried. The fried rice meal was uniquely flavored as well. I suggest washing it down with their Zen teas as we did. We will return.

First of all, the food was DELICIOUS. I got some ramen with chicken and it was some of the best stuff I’ve ever had. Service was amazing! Maddie was our waitress, and she was just great. Very attentive and friendly! Will definitely come back with more friends!

Very good service. Stopped in here due to the heavy out of nowhere rainstorm and was presently surprised. Not crowded at all, and the server was very attentive and patient. He was patient and explain how to customize food for vegans and was helpful in his recommendations and the food came out tasting good. Very attentive to all needs and drink refills. The yellow Japanese pickles were a nice authentic touch as they are hard to find. Prices very good too.

Guests can enjoy delicious breakfast and lunch options, along with unlimited coffee and tea choices. The cafe also offers coffee and tea flights for those looking to explore different flavors.
While visiting Dahlonega, we decided to try out this place. We were greeted by the two front ladies. They were very friendly and helpful. The food was awesome and tasted so good! This is one of the best coffees I've had. The decor and ambiance are amazing. Very calm and relaxing! Make sure to try their cookies! We will definitely come back next time we're in this part of town.

It's amazing how few breakfast destinations there are locally compared to other communities. We decided to try Bear Necessities because they were relatively close to the cabin we were staying in for a couple of days. The cafe was more of a coffee shop with light eats. It took a good bit of time to get our food but everything was pretty tasty.
Chris M — Google review
Beautiful coffee shop, like walking into a well-off close friend's house for some coffee/tea and breakfast/lunch. We had a couple of everything bagels with cream cheese and and everything bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese and a side of pasta salad. Everything was delicious, although it did take a long time for the food to be delivered to our table, about 15 minutes on a Monday morning. There's almost like a kitchen table and a couch and a couple of conference tables, just a great spot to catch up with a friend or have a quick business meeting or grab a quick bite. Definitely not cheap, but the decor matches the prices. If we lived nearby I'm sure we'd be here every week. Brought our dog with us and we were able to sit at a table outside.

We were on our way home from Helen and found this awesome cafe. First of all, I love a good pun in name so I was drawn to that. 🐻 Secondly, the place was so cute and decorated like a cabin so it felt very homey. They had spread of baked goods and pastries, but we went with some good ol coffee and I got homemade egg bites and a fresh side salad. The egg bites were fluffy and delicious, and just needed a pinch of salt. The salad was light and fresh, it was all the perfect amount of healthy food to start my day! The staff were so friendly and kind, I can’t wait to come back when we’re in GA again!

Tried Bear Necessities for the first time and just loved it. We love some good coffee and this place had it. We got a coffee from the list of specials and a flight. The flight was $20 but just well worth it. We will definitely come back.

I feel like Bear Necessities Cafe is a little bit of a hidden gem in Dahlonega. Cool, laid-back vibe with pretty good coffee (they serve Break Coffee Roasters out of Duluth) and plenty of pastry options to choose from, which is awesome. Seasonal drinks are always fun, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town.
Layne S — Google review
We had breakfast at noon here. It was a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful the food was fresh and delicious. One of our favorite stops on our trip!
Kelly C — Google review
Normally I'd start with the delicious roast beef sandwich or the tuna salad my wife had with a huge portion of mozzarella but I won't. I won't even start with how cute the surroundings are or that our server was delightful. No, let me begin with the brownie. Now, I know brownies. I've had brownies all over where we've lived and my wife makes a mean brownie herself. This was on the far side of decadent. Smooth chocolate with little chocolate chunks. To die for. I'm sure the rest of the menu is equally impressive. Stop by and help this home grown company thrive. Side note. The owner came out while we were sitting on the porch. She certainly deserves your support. She took the time to connect in a very meaningful way and we are grateful for those moments. All the best, Dan

This confectionery paradise offers an array of hand-dipped chocolates, barks, toffees, brittles, and over fifteen varieties of cream and butter fudge. We were in town and had been told we needed to stop by here so we did. Let me tell you the samples were delicious. All the store employees were polite and cheerful even with the teasing my wife was doing being as she has been making brittle and divinity for several several years herself. She had to admit that the products offered here were as good as her own though! We had some more walking around to do so we had to leave and come back but when we did we purchased some delicious fudge and caramel turtles as well as some divinity. Unfortunately for us we had a little bit of a mishap a couple days later and all of our stuff was ruined so we didn't get to enjoy it,But we enjoyed our visit and the samples so much that as soon as the weather cools down my wife is planning on ordering some to be shipped! I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth, I think you'll enjoy it.

Mexican restaurant
El Jimador Mexican Restaurant is a family-owned establishment that aims to bring the authentic flavors of Mexico to your table. The restaurant offers a variety of flavorful and filling meals, including fresh guacamole with chips as an appetizer. With accommodating and responsive owners, this restaurant is suitable for events such as rehearsal dinners. While some may find the decor in need of renovation, others appreciate the fresh chips, nice food presentation, and decent service.
After living in Dahlonega for 2yrs, we finally got around to trying El Jimador. Our bad! This restaurant blows the doors off the other Mexican restaurant in town. We started off with a large chunky guacamole, which was perfect, my wife had 3 Street Tacos: chicken, beef, and pork which she loved (they’re so big she only ate ½ of each, which provided great leftovers), and I had the Camerones al Chipotle which was delicious. The margarita my wife had was fantastic as well. When considering Mexican food in Dahlonega, don’t hesitate going to El Jimador. You won’t be disappointed!
Joe H — Google review
Slow service and just under average tasting food. Their version of a quesadilla was a flower tortilla stuffed with chicken rolled over and no cheese?? We had to keep looking for help to refresh our drinks and bring some chips while we wait for our food for almost an hour. In addition, they got my order incorrect. You will be better served to go elsewhere for Mexican food if that is your goal. We Won’t be back and cannot recommend this place for good food.

Have lived in Dahlonega for a while. The food here has never impressed. Service is worse. Honestly haven't ordered food from here in well over a year. My daughter suggested we give it a shot. Nope. Same ol garbage. Just had my daughter return home with less than half our meal. After almost an hour of being ignored, she finally received the remainder of the order w/o an apology or refund. She was told she could come back tomorrow for a refund b/c they didn't currently have a way to void the sale. If there is a f/u post tomorrow you will know how the refund part went. Should all be a simple process. Unfortunate. Lesson reiterated tonight. Spend the extra money and go to Hacienda. Way better food and service. Get what you pay for. That was the last time for me and El Jimador.
Chris H — Google review
It is clear this establishment is not customer focused and does not value local constituents. My daughter and I came in and were seated and brought chips and salsa. Our server came by and asked for our drink order - as I went to ask to order cheese dip and guacamole (hand made option) - she darted away to where I couldnt ask. She set our drinks down - and I asked if we could order our items. She put the order in. We got our cheese dip about ten minutes later ( from the person who gave us our chips). After another twenty minutes or so- I grabbed the hostess to ask about the guacamole since it had been about a half hour since we ordered it and we couldn't seem to grab our server to check on it. The hostess came back and said they were still working on it - that they had to hand slice the onions, so it was taking some time. While we were waiting for our order- two other tables that came in after us - were brought the same thing we were waiting for. After just a few minutes the guacamole finally gets to our table. Our server was about to walk away and I had to ask if we could order our food. Nothing fancy- pollo loco and chicken wuth veggies. We wait another twenty five minutes and realize the tables around us who came in after us already had their food. I flagged our server down - because she hadn't come by to check on us at all - to see if we could just get our food to go. She brought the food out and I gave her the feedback that we came in often and that i was disappointed she didnt check on us once- we had to flag her down and ask for her - and mentioned how long it took for the guacamole to come out. I told her I felt like it was forgotten to be put in especially with other tables receiving theirs in much quicker times than we had. She told me I was wrong and then proceeded to read me off my check. No apology for the poor service. I did not leave her a tip and upon realizing that she walked away after I paid. No thanking us for coming in or to have a good day. As she was walking away to greet a table of college aged boys- I thanked her for allowing us to come spend our money here and thanked her for taking the time out of her work day to wait on us. I did ask to speak with a manager after the terrible interaction with our server. I was told there is no manager that is on duty and when asked about when the owner comes in - I was told well we dont know when he works he just shows up. While I was talking to the hostess about asking for the owner - my server was in the back corner talking to a man who looked a lot like the owner of the establishment. I will take my local dollars to Pueblos and Underground - literally anywhere else but here. I want to dine where the owners care about locals and not just the tourists and the servers dont just target tables with male customers.
Stephanie B — Google review
Service was slow. It took several minutes to be seated and even longer for anyone to take our order. Appetizers came before drinks, and food took about 30 minutes. They also mixed up our taco order, soft shell tacos came out as hard shell instead. Once it was fixed, the food was actually very good. Kitchen did great, but the service really needs improvement.
Denise S — Google review
The food choices offered a delightful experience with chilaquiles that were particularly tasty. Fajitas had no flavor and the plate needed ti be hotter, the overall atmosphere felt very welcoming. It was a great environment with a strong sense of community and small-town charm.

We stopped by to have dinner here one night and we were pleased to have Chloe as our server! Johnny B's is a classic spot with a screened patio where you can savor pizza, wings, and sandwiches alongside cocktails and live music. It's an ideal place for families to unwind and relish delicious Chicago-style thin crust pizzas topped with various options like sausage, pepperoni, pineapple, and bacon. Voted as the Best Wings in Dahlonega for two consecutive years, their big and meaty wings are truly delightful.
Yesterday we were in Dahlonega , GA . So was everybody else . Autumn in the mountains … The parking situation was pretty dismal around the square making it impossible to visit out usual haunts , and while cutting through the college campus to go to the other side of town we “ discovered “ a college haunt , Johnny B’s Pizza . It had a lived in look, sprawling in an old building that was once a multi-storefront , now completely taken over by Johnny B’s. They had a bar , several dining rooms , a patio and a screened in porch . The pizza was Chicago thin , and pretty good . The cheese was not greasy , which means it’s good cheese, the pepperoni was a little bland , but not bad . My only complaint is I ordered extra cheese and heavy sauce and I think the server got confused and thought I said light sauce . The sauce that was there was pretty good . We had mozzarella sticks , they were hand battered . The pizza was tasty , and the wings were voted the best in town 6 years running by the local newspaper readership - my wife confirms that they are in fact , the best around , and she is a wing -nut ! Will be going back !

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because it genuinely ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion. This is usually my favorite spot to eat, so I was really disappointed. My waiter was shockingly unprofessional and downright rude throughout my visit. He shoved plates at me instead of serving them properly — not just once, but multiple times. At first, I tried to be understanding since he seemed to be the only server working, but I couldn’t help but notice that he was perfectly pleasant and attentive to other tables. It really felt like I was singled out and treated disrespectfully for no reason. This was supposed to be a nice birthday celebration, but instead, I left feeling upset and embarrassed. I would not recommend this place based on how I was treated, and I hope management takes steps to ensure no one else has their special day ruined like this.

Did not try the food. Service was good however one of the bouncers was very racist and disrespectful. Tall red head guy. He started pointing out one of my friends while standing behind her; and was telling others that she was the one he was going to make sexual advances on. He was highly in appropriate with the things he said to us and made us feel so unsafe that we left.
Marina Z — Google review
I’ve been in there a few times. The place smells like stale beer, cigarette butts, and a toilet. The part tender that night whose name I will not mention, but she’s blackhead and probably about late 30s early 40s. She is arrogant, rude, condescending, and I’ll never go back into that bar again just because of that woman. I went in there with a couple of my buddies because they hang out there and this woman was just almost like sparring with me and all I was trying to do is have a drink and some pizza. Bye-bye Johnny B’s I’ll never step foot in there again.

Maddie (bartender) was exceptional. It can be overwhelming for some with bigger crowds, and she made me feel at ease. Also, she is super adorable. What a great hire!

Good local restaurant. If you want a packed bar scene, come Thurs-Sat night. Their wings are fantastic on non-special days but I’ve had bad experiences with the wings being tiny on the days they have their special (Tues & Sat). Plenty of tv’s. When the bar is packed it’s mostly college students. Other times it’s an even mix between locals and students. Screened in porch seating and outdoor porch seating is available. Indoor seating available near the bar and a separate room.

I had the pleasure of visiting Johnny B's during my three-day stay in Dahlonega, and it quickly became my go-to spot each night. One of the things that stood out to me was their extended hours, as most places in downtown Dahlonega closed early. The first night I was there, I had the pleasure of meeting Casey, one of the bartenders. Casey provided excellent service and created a lively and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend trying their watermelon cocktail, "Stone Cold Casey," as it was absolutely delicious. During my second night, I had the pleasure of meeting Josie, another fantastic bartender. Josie not only served yummy drinks but also introduced me to their garlic Parmigiano tater tots. Let me tell you, these tots were mind-blowingly delicious! The combination of garlic and Parmigiano was perfection. On my final night, I was fortunate to have both Casey and Josie serving. There was a live band playing, adding to the already vibrant atmosphere. It was the perfect opportunity for me to try their pizza, and I opted for the Hawaiian pizza with pineapple, bacon, and ham on a thin crust. I must say, it was another mind-blowing experience. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the thin crust added a nice crunch. Overall, my experience at Johnny B's was outstanding. The friendly and attentive staff, delicious drinks, and award-winning food make it a must-visit spot in Dahlonega. Whether you're looking for a fun night out or a satisfying meal, Johnny B's has it all.

the workers are unfortunately not that kind and had a little bit of an attitude. but my food was great but unfortunately my friend did not have the same experience. she ordered avocado toast w/ something else on it and they just gave her plain avocado on regular bread (i don’t think it was toasted). the also was pretty expensive. my bagel was 9 dollars lol. my friend; she ordered coffee as-well and almost all of the coffee pitchers were empty and so was the cream container. we also waited pretty long but they were a tad busy so we understood. overall it was definitely to expensive for the overall outcome but it wasn’t horrible!

I appreciate that UNG offers an Einstein Bros. Bagels, though it is not as fresh as those on other campuses. Just know that you're getting a grocery store-quality bagel at an Einstein's bagel price. While counter service is usually very polite, orders are not always filled correctly (and bagels are often not toasted--even when requested).

This place is pretty good most days. My first time here was pretty good! Coffee was nice, my wrap was wrapped properly and had a good amount of stuffing. My second visit though, I got the same wrap and they poorly wrapped it. I hesitate to even call it a wrap. It is a folded Flatbread pizza that hasn't been toasted and skimpy on the ingredients... The smoothie I had was pretty nice though :D

Has the potential to be good but they often just give you a cold bagel that’s half made.

Ordered one medium coffee and a bagel. They took 50 minutes to get it to me. The coffee was delivered to me in 10 min, so if you’re going to come here... just get coffee. But they did give me two free bagels for my wait so they aren’t that bad

I had to PAY for parking in their lot! It should have been returned to us when we prepaid for lunch. Some of the vegetables were really great, chicken was overly breaded, somewhat dry , tasteless and most definitely not hot. Service was friendly and efficient. $30 per person

Chicken is okay at best and wasn't even hot. Sides are terrible. We were so disappointed, especially for what they charge, good heavens! They are missing the delivery of providing a better dinner. It's a beautiful cafe, with ample work space. It's relatively quiet, and very spacious. They also have free wifi. The cafe is a little hard to find. Jethro’s is definitely more of a lounge vibe; there are sofas, arm chairs, coffee tables, and regular tables to work at. The lighting was not super bright, but warm and comforting. I certainly felt like this would be a place to easily unwind, socialize or focus on project. Their cortado is served in a traditional cortado glass; it was delicious. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Stopped here for a coffee on a long drive. Really loved the ambiance, decor, style, and the staff. The service was slow because of a long line. I enjoyed my coffee with charm and recommend this place!

They have THE BEST seasonal drinks! I love the environment here, too. This is the perfect place to meet for coffee, work on your laptop, or grab a cup to-go. The owner is so kind - greeting and mingling with customers - and the employees are always pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I’ve also been to a couple of private events here, and it is a great venue. Don’t forget about this awesome place just off the square!

Best coffee in Dahlonega by far. I love that they serve a blend on espresso that they developed with Valor. And I love the variety in what they have on drip - sometimes Valor, sometimes Onyx. You might not get perfect microfoam or latte art, but the flavors are on point. Their specials are usually great as well. Definitely recommend.

The staff was really nice and friendly and the lady at the counter answered our questions regarding the coffee menu. The cafe is nicely decorated and modern. We went for a holiday special which was a butterscotch cappuccino and also had a golden nugget. We didn’t like the first one but the golden nugget was good. I’d say nothing special, though, and I think it’s way overpriced ($12 for 2 drinks).

Coffee Break is a charming garden café located in a picturesque village. The café offers an array of coffee blends and teas in a cozy and distinctive setting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing break.
After reading the reviews, I was flummoxed and I finally decided to go see for myself. I had a lovely time. My coffee was fine, and it was enjoyable talking with the old lady's son. I hung out with him a few minutes and then when I left I said bye, and she said, Bye, hun. I liked her. I thought she was fine, maybe a little shy. I liked supporting their little business, and if it's so important to them that you buy a coffee, then buy one! What's the big deal.

One star because ZERO STARS isn’t an option. I was in their shop for 20 seconds and was basically asked to leave if I wasn’t buying a coffee. My reaction is so none of this junk is for sell?! The shop is packed full of ornaments and things to buy but I refuse to give them my business after that interaction. What a B itch.

Me and my fiance came to this beautiful town as a little day trip. Literally every store in this town square sells hot chocolate and coffee. We had already been walking down the street with a latte. We tried walking into this store despite the doors not opening fully from so many items packed inside this store. How it passes any fire code is surprising to me. We finally made it inside after helping a poor lady with a stroller trying to exit in a hurry. I understood why she was in a hurry once we got inside. The man at the counter in the back of the store yelled we can’t bring someone else’s coffee into their coffee shop. The store says antiques on the outside with a small sign that says “coffee break.” My fiance responded with “none of this shit is for sale?” A woman responded that it’s all for sale, but they have to make money! I told her we buy an ornament at every location we visit, but they wouldn’t get our business. We walked out and she followed behind us telling us we must forgive her son because he had Parkinson’s and she has cancer. I’m truly sorry if that’s true, but it’s time to pack up shop if this business isn’t bringing you joy. Seriously a dark blemish on such a beautidul small town at Christmas.

I did not even go inside of this shop and I never will. But I can see why this place has less than 2 stars. I was walking through this area with my new puppy, taking her out to socialize and do some shopping, I just left Tea Rabbits right next door which is amazing. She stopped to do her business, something dogs do. Unfortunately the little thing stepped in it and we were right by the road. So I moved her to wipe her paw down and clean up her mess. Before I even got to my bag to get the wipes and bags some lady shouted at me saying I was so rude for bringing my dog to poop right in front of her store on purpose ( like I have control of that) I explained that I was trying to wipe her down and that I would clean it up to give me a minute. She said people always let their dogs shit in front of her store and she was sick of it. I don’t know how this place is open.

RUDE & CRAZY! My husband and I couldn’t even get in the door and an old lady asked if we were gonna buy any coffee or hot chocolate? I responded by saying that we wanted to look around her store. She said she couldn’t make any money if we just wanted to look around. She had no idea what I would have purchased from her store.I was shopping for Christmas gifts. I probably would have spent more money on other items than I would have spent on her nasty coffee.

My fiance and I went up to counter to see menu while waiting for the rest of our family. We didn't see them so we started towards the door and a man I believe who owns the store says to I believe his wife "people are so impatient!". I then told my family what he said and we decided not to give them our business. As I left I made sure I told him I heard him. He then kept saying Starbucks is around the corner. Very rude and I will spread the word.

Lynn and I visited coffee break and had a great cup of fresh brewed coffee. It is definitely a very unique and unusual place. I would recommend stopping in whenever you’re in Dahlonega. We found some wonderful gifts that are one of a kind, we love them. Jeff was very helpful and friendly. Mom sure would’ve loved the place, God rest her soul.

Somehow my review from 2018 got removed, so I’m happy to leave it again. This business is on the historic square and has items lining the sidewalk. My family of four was walking on the public sidewalk past this business when my two (2) year old Daughter reached out and touched a concrete bird bath that is literally ON THE SIDEWALK. The onslaught of meanness that ensued from the shop owner was impressive. We we’re yelled at, berated, and, ultimately, the cops were called…not by us (the subjects of a verbal tirade) but by the lady who owns the shop. Yes, she called the cops on our two-year-young Daughter and we HAPPILY awaited the Officer’s arrival. In fact, we dedicated the time to wait there until he arrived. After listening to both parties, the Officer suggested that we report this issue to the City as situations like this occur frequently and are a black eye to this community. Were we customers? No. Simply pedestrians on a public sidewalk enjoying a sunny day’s stroll along the historic square of a quaint North Georgian town when we were aggressively pursued as we moved past this shop. Am I bitter? Hmmm…nah, not really…I do embrace forgiveness. But when you see something, say something. I saw something, I’m saying something.
