We really enjoyed our food here at the Waterfront at Slipway. This is such a great location. The menu had some great options. The food was very fresh. The pork chops were fantastic. The rice and veggies were also good and the food came at a good price. My friends really enjoyed the jumbo prawns and said they tasted very fresh. There was a bit of a long wait for the food, and the restaurant wasn’t completely full. There were also lots of flies everywhere, which made it tough to eat. Another restaurant gave us rosemary in hot water and it was a great repellent, I highly recommend it. We sprayed our table with our own bug spray, which helped some. The other issue were the crows. Not sure how to get ride of them but one came and actually took food off my friends plate. The birds also took over the couch and high top areas to the point that people had to move as we were leaving. I recommend not sitting in the back on the edges, it might be better sitting at lower tables in the center of the restaurant to get away from birds. Otherwise we loved the location, vibes and the food! I would definitely go back!

Outdoor restaurant located inside Slipway with a beautiful scenery overlooking the Indian Ocean. Perfect for unwinding the day with friends whilst enjoying drinks and a perfect view of the sunset. Food is towards the pricy end but fair giving the level of execution. Ordered the butter chicken with rice which was cooked to perfection, chicken was nice and tender and it wasn’t very spicy for me. My friend ordered the beef pilau and commented that it was a bit too spicy for her liking. Had the virgin mojito which was also very nice. Food takes 30 minutes most to be ready, drinks way shorter than that. Friendly and swift customer service. Highly recommended.

Delightful, perfectly sauced changgu grilled fish made my afternoon. Not too spicy and had right amount of zing. The laid back, the view and cool breeze from the sea make The Waterfront a tranquil place to dine.

Listen the food is good alright? But im not here to write about that, the main focus is the BATHROOM, I promise you the bathrooms are AMAZING, there is an AC blasting cooling air, the place smells nice and is VERY VERY clean. They also make sure that nobody who isnt from the restaruant can just enter which makes me feel x100 better. Had a great great expirience in the bathroom and when I was done came back to my table to some great food.

Some Waiters and waitresses are not friendly,they have altitude,they choose who to give attention and who to ignore…they also put reservations signs on the table while the table are not reserved, they wait for their important customer or the people whom they think that they are going to spend good money to give them the table.. This thing happened to me more than three times.. Thats not nice, You people you need to change as we all spending money you should give us same service and attention..

Few years ago when we came this place was busy and lively. This time it is completely the opposite. The service was extremely slow and the food was average when compared to previously "amazing". Very disappointed.

Absolutely terrible service!!! Ordered takeout food from them, called them multiple times to ask for the statues of the order only for them to lie to me and tell me that it’s on its way. 1.5 hours later they tell me that the food I ordered was finished and asked me to change my order. Absolutely disgusted by their service.

Remarcable swahili Street Food. I had the chicken and French fries 🍟. What made the difference from the others were the sauces that came with the meal - Tamarind sauce, a sweet chili sauce, and a sauce made from milk and onion leaves. Every bite produced an explosion of flavors on my taste buds. This food joint is best experienced live. Ask for the canesuger juice. You will want to stay there the whole night. Well done Mamboz. 👌

Some of the best chicken I’ve had EVER 🏆! That is not an easy award to get cause this girl has had a lot of chicken in her days🤰🏾Our entire table ordered the Chicken Sekela (i think) Just ask for the red chicken. Oh and the chips masala 🔥🔥#lifechanging It is so juicy and marinated so perfectly and guess what.....they don’t open until sunset 🤦🏾‍♀️. Don’t dare come here at lunch thinking you are going to get this yumminess your feelings will be hurt. The good news is there are like 50 other restaurant like this in downtown Dar es Salaam. I think this is the Upanga region, confirm with Google. They all open at dusk and make this Tanzania signature red chicken. Most tourist sleep on this treat because its not written in tour books but its written in my belly and all the other locals. Nom Nom Nom

I had gone with family for dinner and also order takeaway from mamboz the food was delicious, the bbq is just amazing, the location is also perfect as you can enjoy your dinner while see the busy street of dar es salaam at night. Hoping to try more dishes from their menu. So far happy with their services and also the quality and quantity of their food items. Even there offers are great as far as remember its every Wednesday you get sekela and chips with naan free and also they had some steak offer. I have also visited the Masaki branch the service was also great, maybe they can add a small playing area for kids to play while waiting for their orders.

The rooms are shabby, no mosquito net, they look completely different than on the hotel pictures. The bar next to it has a nice interior but bad food. I ordered mushroom pasta, unfortunately they came without mushrooms for 28000THS its basically scam. One dish the kitchen forgot so one of us had to wait another 40min for the food ... even though we were already waiting for at least 45min. I can't recommend the hotel and the food at the restaurant.

Great place! Very good location, clean rooms, friendly staff and nice breakfast. Excellent value for money. There’s music downstairs until late, so it can be a bit noisy, but perfect if you want to have a drink without going far.

the rooms were good enough for one night the hotel definitely has seen some better days and is in need of a modernisation/renovation. especially some new paint is needed. the rooms dont give the comfortable feeling as the pictures suggests. there are no mosquito nets. also the rooms have a slight unpleasant smoke-like smell. the AC is strong and quite cold. the rooms don’t particularly give a clean ~feeling~. there is bar downstairs which noice you‘ll definitely hear in the late hours of the night, bring some earplugs. breakfast is simple, consisting of coffee/tee, eggs/bacon/sausage, some bread and fruits. in my opinion the hotel is not worth the money you pay. i payed ~50 USD per night per room. the sourroundings are good though, close the the beach and the more wealthy area of Dar. all in all its not really a 3-star hotel, more a backpacker vibe but without the correct pricepoint

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my experience here. The lightbulb in the bathroom wasn’t working and it took 45 min to get a new one. Also the bathroom didn’t look clean and it was left a used soap in the shower which made me a bit worried if they cleaned the room or even changed the bed cheats. Very noice and it’s hard to sleep. Staff is friendly so that is why 2 stars.

Value for money. Great location, big clean rooms. Good food, I especially loved the chicken wings. The one big downside is there's a bar downstairs which is open everyday except Monday. So usually from Thursday and throughout the weekend it's very loud and it will be hard to sleep. Also the WiFi is not very good, sometimes it's unavailable when it's available it's usually very weak.

I rate this highly only because of their F1 members group. A nice hangout for formula One viewings and interactions with the like minded; you can watch even in odd hours. Worry no more.

This place has a fantastic location and an even better atmosphere. We loved the vibe, and the staff were incredibly friendly, especially Samwel, who made sure we were well taken care of. That said, the food didn’t quite hit the mark for us. We ordered a mixed seafood plate and didn’t realize it would all come fried, would’ve been great if they’d asked our preference. It also took around 30 minutes to arrive. Still, for the view and service alone, it’s a place with real charm.

I had a great experience at Karambezi Café! I ordered the Passion Mojito and it was absolutely refreshing — exactly what I was hoping for. The flavors were perfectly balanced and really hit the spot. The atmosphere is lovely, especially with the live band they host every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy good vibes. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is because I believe there’s always room for a little improvement, but overall, it’s definitely a spot worth visiting!

Karambezi is a beautiful restaurant located in Masaki which provides delicious food and drinks as well as desert. The surrounding is beautiful because it is located on a cliff where you can see the Indian ocean beautifully. The staff are friendly with good customer services, the prices are affordable and worthy the services.

Wonderful spot in Masaki – with a French name, though the menu leans more international. You’ll find the French touch mostly in the bakery. I tried a few starters, and everything was prepared with care. The outdoor seating under the pergolas has a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. The steak was the star of our visit. Service does take a bit longer when they are busy. It does take a long time for a server to get to your table, happened to me twice. Their coffee options are great they also decaf options which was just perfect for me. They have a small area for kids to play with some slides and a sand pit. They also have the best bread in the city.

The place could really do with their wait staff to really pay more attention to detail (had to swot away flies trying to land on my food for 15 minutes before I lost my cool before someone noticed. Are there no professional pest control companies in Tanzania like Korea’s CESCO? They could even even have suggested that they move me inside the restaurant building, which as it was my first visit, I know noticed after finishing my meal. Also utensils, there’s nothing worse than using a blunt knife to slice through toast. Otherwise the food tasted really good and my passion fruit mousse from the patisserie was out of this world good!

Found this place online with good reviews. Visited here for dinner. There was a birthday party going, so we had to sit inside. Anyways, good seating options both indoors and outdoors. They have a kid park too, for kids entertainment. We ordered Iced tea, Chicken Pizza, Seafood Pasta and Salmon feta sandwich. Salmon cheese was bland and salmon was raw. Pizza and Pasta were fine. Service and ambience was fine.

This place is Happening, the food is delicious. We ordered a platter and I was amazed at the variety of choices in the platter. Indeed the lobster was missing, but if you are not a lobster lover you won’t notice it. I enjoyed every bite of it. The food was made to perfection. It was a Saturday night. The crowd and music got better with time. And by 12 midnight it was just a perfect atmosphere. I had a blast, the music surely made me dance eventually. Drinks were fancy and the decor of the place was amazing too. We were sitting in the VIP area, so it was not as hot as it would have been in the crown. Bring a mini fan with you if you need the air. I would urge them to have more fans or have an AC as Dar can get seriously hot at times in terms of the weather.

Visiting Dar es Salaam. Have eaten at multiple samaki samaki restaurants previously. Today, I wanted some fresh seafood before I dash to Uganda tomorrow. The waitress was helpful but she suggested getting king prawns over the regular shrimp. When my food came, I only had 1 King Prawn and all the other pieces were half the size?! When i made an inquiry, the waitress said the chef said the shrimp were 350 grams........ But when i order a King prawn dish that's doubles the price of regular prawns, I expect to receive KING PRAWNS and NOT BE SUBSTITUTED REGULAR SIZE SHRIMP! Very poor customer service that resulted in no assistance! You just feel CHEATED paying double the price for REGULAR SHRIMP!

This restaurant consistently reminds me of it being okay to be different. It’s got a local vibe wrapped up in a worldly feel. I don’t know how to explain. The best octopus mishkaki I have ever had was at Samaki Samaki, and their beef mishkaki does not disappoint. Their customer service is on point!! I haven’t been to their events, but they have a cool assortment of them too. I definitely recommend it!

Enjoyed the cozy evening at this place. It was quiet, with a sea breeze and enjoying a very private time. It was nice being there and you could see the city from afar. Prices are a bit high but affordable and you could stay there and be lost in the beauty of the city.

Prices for food and drinks are reasonable comparing to other hotels on the beach, Its a perfect place to do some beach activities like; Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer etc. But the place looks old and in need of some renovation.

Great place for volleyball (especially if you're on the CDI WaSH team). A beautiful beach with a beautiful view of the sunset. The club has amazing live music, a pool and a children's bouncy castle. Food and drinks are available but pretty expensive. Just be sure not to go too far along the beach, there's a contaminated section further along.

The ambience/ the place looks good. Nice & clean as well. But we were the only people there so we got a quick & good service. I think its self-service, as I had gone to the counter to place my order. And if its not management needs to look at it, as I was trying to find the waiter. So the food is pretty decent, the drink was good. A very cute outdoor restaurant offering freshly baked good and food of course. They offer varieties and especially suitable for vegetarian and vegan dishes. Baobab Bistro is a hidden gem! The parathas are amazing and the Swahili Kuku is delicious. Definitely worth the time to find it, you will enjoy the food and atmosphere!

As a family we normally have 2-3 set restaurants we visit for our weekly Sunday brunch, we’ve just added another one to our list after today’s visit, the food was absolutely amazing, we tried over 10 things from the menu and each item tasted as good as it sounded on the menu! Their healthy food options along with the smoothies are refreshing and their home made bread is to die for! None of the things we ordered let us down to the point we kept ordering more and more things! The ambience was cosy and the service from their staff was excellent! We can’t wait to be back!

This is my second review on pappa rotti however with at least 6-7 times visit with friends. I was surprised that on social media there was a boom on all fancy and great photos but the fact that service grade is decreasing. My friend has ordered beef fillet with chips first but after while the waiter informed us there’s no chips ready. I have order fresh orange juice then be informed there’s no orange, then they referred me choosing passion fruit juice after while be informed again there’s no passion plz choose other so I picked avocado then again there’s no avocado I have to choose mango juice. The espresso that I have the coffee cup was dirty with stain on the cup and plate that I have to tell barista plz change for me. The Greek salad I received was totally not the GREEK salad, the waiter saw me with confusing face then he invited the manager explained me they don’t have the cherry tomatoes and rocket veggies. Was surprised but had no choice right ? The cheese in their “geek salad” isn’t feta cheese it’s like cheddar cheese. The manager said “you know local market isn’t stable.” What’s that mean? The client would be more comfortable if you just apologized and told the truth that you didn’t prepare for these ingredients. It’s a nice place for photos, the baked bun and a cup of papa milk tea. I am glad that the nice decor is providing a place for gathering but the food and service just don’t expect too much with the performance right now so far. Positive thing is servers are friendly. For foodie friend who’s looking for higher standard of service and food and beverage sincerely I recommend their neighbor cafe like epicdor/ levant / orchid cafe. For this second review sincerely wish to give these comment and advise to visitors and owner. P.s. the ladies toilet is too stuffy.

There are many reasons to visit here. 1. Spacious area. There are many tables not only outside but also inside. 2. Pleasant atmosphere. The area including toilet is clean. Inside cool, outside fresh. 3. Featured Coffee Bun. This cafe is famous for Coffee Bun. They make it professionally. There are various toppings. I strongly recommend cheese topping. (I think it is expensive a little bit.) 4. Drinks menus are also good. Especially PappaRoti milk tea(Hot) is creamy & sweet. 5. Kind staffs and good service. Almost staffs try to make guests feel comfortable. 6. Closing time. PappaRoti closes 2:30am everyday. There is no cafe or store which closes at that time in Masaki except PappaRoti.

There is still a transportation problem, especially when it comes to crossing to the other side—it takes a long time and there are many people. Although there is an alternative ferry, the Azam Fast Sea Taxi, it still poses a challenge for people crossing with their vehicles.

This restaurant has a diner like feel. The interiors are good, just need some polishing. The service was good. Food was yummy too. Don't know why it was empty on a Saturday night. Definitely deserves a crowd.

We bought 4 milk shakes and we are regular customers. 2 of them were spoiled. When I first took a sip I really thought it tasted funny and smelt weird but didnt pay attention to it. My wife then drank from it and straight away said it has gone sour. My brother gave the same complain. I believe if you are charging your customer 16,000 tshs per bottle then at least make sure the shakes have not gone bad.

Price is higher than what is listed online . The pictures online are not actually what the store looks like. They don't have pastries like in the pictures. The store's exterior and interior are quite different from the pictures shown online I ordered a 16oz coffee , but only the cup was 16oz -not the amount of coffee.

This was once a place to get good quality coffee and service, I am sorry to announce that it's service and product have declined. I took a video to show you the thieving of coffee. The crew seemed clueless and unresponsive. Really sad, I have to find a different place

This place is frustrating. The menu shows items as available, but once you place a delivery order they call back to say it’s not. Then if you go in person, the same item is magically available. Why accept orders if you don’t actually have the item? It makes no sense that I then have to check with other branches just to get it delivered, paying extra delivery charges because of the distance. And honestly, why keep something on the menu if it’s not available in the first place? It just wastes the customer’s time.

24 hour coffee place, which is really convenient. In a great location, easily accessible by those who reside in masaki and Upanga. The Frappuccino drink was pretty average. It’s too light of a drink, and 30% of the tumbler is filled up with ice. Plenty of such drinks available at other platforms in Dar and better in terms of taste. Would give it a 2 star. They’re 50% more expensive than any other place that has these kinda drinks. The vanilla iced latte was very nice and creamy.

Nice coffee shop which opens 24 hours. They do nice cappuccinos and beautiful cakes. Prices on the high side. They also started offering shawarmas

Very nicely decorated and cozy café. The coffee is good – though a matter of taste, as it’s typically quite acidic for this region. The quality, however, is ok. I appreciate that they offer plant-based milk alternatives but TAKE CARE it cost 5000 TZN extra and they find imform you. Overall, a good place to relax and spend some time.

Visited this cafe on a friend's recommendation, he was especially fond of the chicken sandwich but didn't seem too excited about the coffee. The cafe is in a convenient location and is always quite a busy place. It's well set-up for those who need to work away from the office with power outlets conveniently located near the tables. The chicken sandwich, banana bread and fruit juice were quite tasty. However, I wasn't entirely happy with the coffee (Africano/Americano). What I really liked was that the cafe had PLENTY of books and if it was nearer to my place of stay, I would have spent more time here! Would definitely recommend a visit to this cafe if you are in the area... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved the cake, coffee, and sunlight. The staff lady was very helpful when I was debating which one of the cakes I should get 😇 Best place to relax and read, work, or write, you name it. A little bit more generous amount of ice would be a plus.

A nice a chill coffee shop! The cappuccino was strong and the smoothie was delicious. I enjoyed the vibes and plethora of books. The location was great overall. I would for sure return!

I went there on a Friday afternoon. It was calm and serene even though almost all tables were taken. They don’t play music, which I actually really enjoyed because I get sometimes overstimulated in Dar’s hectic traffic. The cappuccino with soy milk I ordered was absolutely delicious. Prices are good. Soy milk has additional costs (4k tsh) which is understandable and it still only cost me 10k tsh (approximately €3,30). Staff is really friendly. There is free WiFi and it works perfect. There are plenty of boardgames to play and books to read. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Indoor has airconditioning.

I really had a good time here. The atmosphere is so good for just a coffee, work, even doing school work. The books there were amazing! It is laptop friendly and don’t even get me started on the coffee - amazing!

Loved this Cafe, great for work meetings, family dinners and kids have a huge play ground. It’s perfect for a small or a big occasion, would love to be back. I had a lovely dinner, tried chicken tandoori wrap it came with fries, their berry Blitz was pretty good drink.

Nice place, taste food. We had a great breakfast there. The chicken brito is amazing, never thought baked chicken mixed avocado and eggs are so flavorful and match. I’m so obsessed with the name “central park”, it will be much wonderful if there is a big couch inside of it.

Had the steak and cheese sub here, it was delicious! The baked goods look good too. The ambiance of the cafe is amazing too, and i love that they have a lil playground garden for kids! Will be visiting often!

The food is good, but what let’s done this cafe is the service! Unfortunately every single time it’s disorganized, orders are forgotten, and then it takes very long to correct the order. It’s a real shame because this is a lovely cafe, food is delicious but the service is always a let down ruining the whole experience. A note to management, you really need to sort this issue out as it’s your downfall.

Great ambience, loved the decor🙌🏼 Staff were fast and friendly. Lunch was just okay for me. My friend had the Tandoori Chicken burger which was amazingly spicy and tasty. I had the double cheeseburger which wasn’t as spicy and tasty as I expected. The beef was tasteless I might say. Still a great place for lunch tho.

It is a nice place and has a comforting and great customer service. Went there for a quick drink as well as a meeting. The staff were welcoming and very quick on serving. I ordered a smoothie and it was tastier and nice. My friends ordered shakes and nice tea. They both enjoyed their drinks and will definitely come back to eat their burgers for my first experience was awesomely great. The place is cool and quiet, with enough space to accommodate many customers. And yeah, the service is quick and on point. So in a nutshell, my first experience here was as good as expected, so will come back next time.

Establishment par excellence. Finest Tanzanian Coffee will make you doubt Italian cappuccinos are the best. Blueberry cheesecake cake is a must, I recommend it highly to all cake lovers. Now it might be too expensive for locals, if you're on holidays you deserve this. 10 minutes waiting time is worth it, trust me

This little coffee place is a hidden gem in the middle of busy Dar Es Salaam city life! I needed a nice place to spend some hours waiting for my son who had an appointment at an embassy, and I was not disappointed! Superb cappuccino (and tons of interesting cold drink mixes available), in a lovingly created little place, with very friendly staff! I also had an interesting chat with Evans, the owner, who is trying hard to make a living with this little new business. It's in a dirty little side road, where you would not expect anything really, but through Google maps not hard to find. Absolutely worth a visit!!!

The best place we've been in Dar Es Salaam! Coming from Melbourne AUS we love a good coffee/drink so finding this place was very special. The customer service was fantastic and it was so lovely to be served by two ladies that not only were exceptionally friendly, but also had a great sense of humour. At first glance, cafe Aroma may seem like a very average cafe, as it sits right next a petrol station. However, from the outside you can see that it is a nice cafe. It looks inviting. The staff greeted me immediately and I found a seat easily/quickly. I asked if they could mix two juices for me and they obliged without a problem. I ordered a Greek salad with added chicken, and we got some fries for the table. The fries were great! A light crispiness on the outside accompanied by a soft inside. The salad was already seasoned well enough that I didn’t need to add the dressing they provided. Overall I recommend this place for an easy cafe to have a meeting, catch up with a friend, have a lunch with family, or entertain your kids with a meal out. They had desserts too, but I did not venture down that road.

The breakfast is great. Also, try the Italian rice bowl! Great place to work, if you don't mind the noise. Internet- is stable!

A little bit surprised it is in a gas station. But generally the environment is pretty good. And also it's the best cappuccino I had since I landed in Tanzania. Chicken wing is also not so bad. But the sauce is a little bit sweet for me. Overall, it's good.

📍Nice cafe with lovely interior. Located at the Puma petrol station this place is very cozy and can accomodate many groups. Family friendly. 🥖🍔 The food was very delicious we went there for our sunday breakfast and everything was available from bagles to english breakfast. 💲 The price are average and the portion is enough 👨‍🍳 The service was fast and the waiters were skillful with the knowledge of the items in their menu. This cafe deserves all the stars for their incredible heavenly grilled red snapper! It was cooked to absolute perfection – flaky, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The accompanying mashed potatoes were also delicious. Seriously, one of the best grilled fish I've had in a while. The drinks were okay. However, I must admit the chairs weren't the most comfortable. Despite this minor drawback, I highly recommend this cafe for a delicious and satisfying meal.

The food was nice, the Nutella shake 🫨 was great, took the babies out for lunch. Asked a server to take a group photo at their beautiful entrance and she mentioned that she hasn’t put sunscreen and so won’t be able to step outside! I wonder how she got to work🤷🏾‍♀️

Bean There Cafe is an amazing place to chat and do the work. However, it can get quite loud, but I personally love the atmosphere! It was my first time trying caramel machiatto, and it was so good!

I was really disappointed with my visit to Bean There Café. The food was completely tasteless - nothing had any flavor at all. And to make things worse, they didn't even have coffee! For a place calling itself a café, that's just ridiculous. The name "Bean There Café" is clearly just a name – - there's no real coffee or café experience here. Definitely not worth visiting

I was requested to leave my seat while waiting for the Uber as some new customers wanted to sit here. There are still many empty seats. The waitress claimed that she had no offense and just "politely asked". I would say it was an offense to most people. Will never go back there.

Cozy place with style and serves variety of cold and hot drinks ranging from 'chai' as its name with dishes and some wonderful desserts. You will enjoy nice aroma of either tea or coffee. I had the Iced coffee which had a wonderful and a bit of levelled sugar. The customer service is fast and good as it didn't take time to get what I ordered. It took less than 5 minutes which was a good thing. As I went there on Sunday, they close a bit early, but they waited for my colleagues and I to finish our meeting before closing up after we left. It is a wonderful place. Big up to them.

OK I got the poutine out of curiousity and it was a disaster, but I was already expecting that. Get the Indian snacks instead. The teas are powdered, so stick to coffee. It's the only nice cafe around the area so it's a bit of a haven but don't set expectations too high. Prices are a bit high considering the local area and quality of what you get.

A nice cozy little cafe in the centre of Dar which is great if you’re just catching up with a friend or wanting to relax with family. Nice ambience, totally chilled out. Does the usual selection of food, Indian bitings, desserts, cold drinks, hot drinks and hot meals. Loved the fact that they had board games to play as well. My slight reservation lay in the sugar content of their drinks. Karak chai and shakes were good but way too much sugar! Clearly, that’s a personal preference.

Lovely spot in the centre of town! I really enjoyed the karak chai, which is a lightly sweet and strong tea. The curry puff with the coconut chutney and pilipili was delicious. Also, very affordable prices and chill atmosphere.

Lovely Cafe, their cakes are just delicious. I got my Mom and Dad’s birthday Cake recently from them. I also tried Pistachio Nutella cake & Blueberry cheesecake. I would absolutely recommend it. Just delicious cakes. Ambience is lovely, great place to catch up with friends and family. A must visit for a quick bite, a good meal and a dessert- all in one spot.

Sadly, I am very disappointed with my meal and experience, especially since it's my first time and I've heard quite a lot of good reviews about this place. The fries were absolutely below grade; tasted old/stale and very crunchy. Seems like the chef or manager in charge in the kitchen isn't bothered about the quality of the dishes going out to their customers. The service is quite slow. We had to remind our server about the other dish that we had ordered. Perhaps they should work on this.

One of my recommended cafe here in Dar Es Salaam. In terms of location wise, it is good an has lot of parking spaces. Ambiance and cleanliness? I can say they maintain their cafe's good reputation. As for the best part, price and food, I can say it is worth the price especially their cakes. I highly recommend Butterscotch and Lotus Cheesecake, can say that it is best when freshly baked. We've tried it numerous times as it was really good. Pasta also is soooo good, they never fail. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, chill, do some office work this place is a must visit.

For me Opera was not the best. But I will visit and try another one again and highly recommend to visit. They have a lot of cakes and desserts. And I love the interior

Went for breakfast and whilst the food we ordered was good (excellent bread), I do feel like improvements could be made. Most of the breakfast menu offerings indicate that it comes with bread. It would be great to be given the option of having the bread toasted and/ or to receive a side of butter. The place was pretty empty on a Saturday morning at 9:30am.

Went for the infamous Sunday Brunch based on an IG video. Perfect location, Vibe is chilled, and it is great for an outing to enjoy the outside breeze while catching up with friends. Their baked goods are fresh and tasty. However some of the items on the brunch table were exposed for too long so it was already wilting I.e green salads, boiled eggs we’re changing colour etc.

Thanks to Sabri who served us this morning. When it's cool and there's a breeze the roof top terrace is the place to sit. I had the homemade yoghurt which was perfect after a long Sunday stroll.

Amazing interior. Great place to relax or work remotely, with a dedicated play area for children as well. However my only problem was with quality of products. Ordered a milkshake and a cappuccino, it was okay. Otherwise great staff and again, AMAZING INTERIOR!

The coffee itself deserves at least four stars; most reliable freshness I've found in country, and the darker "city roast" is perfect every time. If it's darker than you like, try blending with something lighter. The café is good, too. Menu is a bit limited, but they do it all well. I keep coming back, just for the avocado lime smoothie. Parking would be an issue if they ever got very busy, but I enjoy always finding a pleasant and relaxing ambience.

Decided to try out impresso espresso yesterday evening. Their new location at Chole Rd is conveniently located. Parking isn't easily accessible though. The indoor ambience is welcoming and cozy. Staff are friendly. We had the chicken Tikka Pizza and vanilla milkshake that was decent. Fair for its price. Play area is decent for a small crowd, when the number of children increased, so did the possibility of injuries. I wasn't too impressed by the wooden decking for outdoor seating. It was too small. Chairs easily tumble on the edge. Management should also consider fumigating to help with mosquitoes and installing fans outside to make the heat bareable . Otherwise it's a decent spot to chill on a nice afternoon. Coffee is great too.

Nice and decent. Good customer service. Lovely coffee. Space is small but well utilized. If you decided to play some pool, there is a provision upstairs. In the evenings, there are tables set on the pavements where u can get cool breeze.

From the moment you step through the door you are welcome with a big smile from all the staff. Customer service is absolutely brilliant. We were in Dar for 5 days and out of those five we made sure to pass by at least four times! Not only is the cafe welcoming but you can’t go wrong with anything you order! Fresh juices were an absolute must. If you are looking for a nice affordable breakfast/brunch/lunch/snack/coffee then Impresso Espresso is the place to be! It’s also very kids friendly with a play area in the back!

We ordered the banana pancakes which were really soft and fresh. The masala tea was on the spicy side but after speaking to the owner, she said she could adjust that for me when I order it again. Great customer service.

The owner needed to go to the hospital and decided to get everyone out even though she had other employees in the shop. She did not want to take credit card and USD. Eventually she took the credit card with the extra charge obviously. I don’t think it is a tourist friendly place. I had to wait outside in the rain and get drenched. Coffee was good but the pastries were just mediocre. I don’t recommend this place at all. Find a better place to enjoy your coffee with a better treatment. I gave 2 stars because of the coffee otherwise it would be just one star.

So far my favorite place in Dar. My favorite drink was espresso tonic (not in the photos). I also got a bag of coffee beans to try filter coffee at home and it was absolutely amazing. I love how my kitchen is now filled with coffee aroma ♡

Best specialty coffee (and roasters) in Dar! The staff were incredibly helpful, I was looking for medium roast beans to take home as gifts (and for my own pour-overs). They actually had a roast planned for the next day, but since I was short on time, they kindly roasted the beans for me on the spot! Can’t wait to try them at home!

Green Bean Cafe and Bakery; has good ambiance and a very biophilic interior. The food was good and the smoothies tasted every of the fresh fruits that very as part of the ingredients. We also ordered some Nachos which was big portion was not expecting that and it was good. I just hoped if they would have given extra Guacamole on the side. All in all pleasant experience

Visited today for getting some work done - ordered coffee, the coffee was fine. Continued my work and requested the staff to turn on the ac as it was quite hot in the cafe, i quickly went to the car to get something, the acs were still not turned on and the staff was missing from the counter(since i was the only customer at the cafe). They seemed less bothered when i decided to just pay and leave.

I actually went to soul treats cos of the naked carrot caked advertised on their website for 35,000 tz it would have been perfect but they didn't have it. Tried a slice of the carrot loaf. Its really good. Nice set up in store as well. Felt the loaf for 36000 was too pricey. I guess cake in tanzania is considered a luxury

The cakes are really good and the bakery is really cute and comfy. However, they dont really have any classic cakes like a simple blackforest cake, so if thats what you're looking for, it's not the place. It's also pretty pricy, but they're really friendly and produce a good service.

Tables are adequately spaces apart to have privacy. Large windows bring in good natural light. Staff are friendly with management always available. Slice of regular cake (carrot, banana, etc) is a little on the high side.

The perfect time is after the lunchtime rush is over. What a gem off the beaten track but great dishes well cooked and presented, full of flavour. This will be a regular place for lunch or dinner. Staff are very good 5* and it seems to be a good venue for fashion photo shoots. Been visiting on average ³-4 times per week and slowly working through the menu and have never been disappointed, staff are also very good, one of the few establishments where all 5 mains are delivered at the same time. This is the place to be. I'm so grateful for this place as the Café is so aesthetically pleasing, breath taking and cozy. The white walls and decor around are so beautiful and reflect sparkle essence. The place isn't crowded. The menu can be pleasant to vegeterians too. The employees around are very friendly, welcoming and formally informative. The prices are moderately affordable. Tried the flat bread and it was incredibly amazing. This is a go-to-place for photo setup, chit-chat and more.

Well known for its minimalist black and white ambiance with plenty of potted plants. Has an inside and out area all equally great. And of course, cant leave the cafe without a mini photo shoot Food here is equally incredible only so slightly on the pricier side but the dishes are mostly unique in comparison to many cafes in the area Totally recommend

Was so excited to visit the place. It has such cute vibes, every piece felt very artistic and cozy. The food, however!, the most horrible salad, never got to finish, with no salad dressing.. Ordered for chicken salad but the chicken was silent, and the staff wasn't as receptive to the feedback. I won't get to the chicken sandwich.. nothing really stood out. Good place but the food just killed the vibe!

The waitresses are very attentive and gave me really good recommendations for drinks and food. I ordered the mango/passion fruit ade and it was amazing! For lunch I had beef with spaghetti which was okay. Could have made it myself and I was missing something that made the dish special. All in all a great place, especially if you need a nice place to work!

I tried the Dalgona coffee, inspired by the popular Squid Game series, and it was absolutely delicious. The coffee was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The minimalist decor and soft lighting create a relaxing ambiance. I loved the curated playlist, it was perfect blend to the café’s peaceful and serene environment. Highly recommend!

As a korean, it is very nice to visit this cafe. They offer Korean dishes! I recommend red bean bingsu and Kimchi fried rice ❤️

Coffee lovers should definately pay a visit at Luma Whale Cafe, they serve and sell best coffee in Dar (maybe😜) If you want to try simple korean dishes, this is definately a go-to place! They also have a mini-shop selling korean beauty and food products. The place is cozy and spacious, very easy to get to, with friendly staff!

I really enjoyed the unique taste of their signature dish... it is their own recipe with a South Korean twist... The children enjoyed the Tomato pasta and hot chocolate. Soup was excellent and the caramel frappe was the best I have had in a very long time. These guys are very serious about their coffee. The professor (of coffee) has got so many certificates! There is a story as to why it is called Luma Whale so go and ask their team if you want to know!

The food was fine but the experience was awful. The guy at food cart served us food. There is a menu with the price of each item but none of them is about buffet. So we ordered a small plate each (as shown on the pics) and they stated on the bill 10,000 shillings for each plate. After negotiating the bill became 10,000 in total. Besides, the claimed that the coffee maker was out of order but we saw them serving coffee to other customers.

My go-to place for decent coffee whenever I'm in the area. Unfortunately it takes forever to order food a la card (upwards of 1h for simple dishes), so if you're in a rush, better stick to the buffet.

Harakati is the best coffee bar we have been to in Dar es Salaam. Good coffee, food and service.

Being a tea lover, they had really good pots at affordable prices. For meetings, it is not too noisy and contains ample seating though not my kind. They also have gluten-free desserts, which were interesting to me.

Do not waste your time here. We were looking forward to a great meal but were told very late after we had already sat down that most of the menu items weren't available. The service was terrible, and the lack of communication from the staff was completely unprofessional. This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience.

So let's talk about the PROS of my experience at TasteMe Mikocheni Plaza : 1. Staff were very welcoming and quick to take the orders. 2. Out of the 2 dishes [I'll talk about the other one in CONS] that we ordered, Chicken Alfredo Pasta (Penne) was one of the absolute best pasta I've ever eaten in my life. So rich, so creamy, YUM! 3. Pleasant atmosphere. Very clean spot, great ambience! CONS : 1. Food took a bit longer than usual to arrive. Probably after 45-50 minutes, so I expected it to be good. (Continues in 2) 2. So as I mentioned in PROS, I'd ordered 2 dishes, so the second dish was the Grilled Chicken Fillet with fries. It was a little bit too dry for my liking and overcooked in certain areas. The fries were kind of hard. 3. The post serving service could've been better as we asked for a spoon, it didn't arrive until we reminded them, which I didn't appreciate. 🤝 Overall a good experience. I expect a 'really good' experience next time because I'll definitely come back because the PROS outweigh the CONS for me. One of my favourite spots in Dar.

A cool cafe where I dash in for late night coffee and desserts. They offer good tasty finger foods for breakfast and brunch. I like their mocktails as well. There's this very helpful and nice waiter there, I wish I can remember his name to give him a shout out. It's a cool corner cafe to have in your list if in Posta areas

Ordered a kunafa through duka . it’s suppose to be made with the shredded phyllo dough , instead flour covered cheese fried in a weird gross oil taste. Also their cheese rolls had no filling , and had their kibbeh and it barely had a beef filling from a previous order . Disappointing . They should have just cancelled the order . I used to really like their cheese rolls and labneh.

Today I ordered churros for the first time in Cafe Arabica which was not worth the price . 12000tzs for 5 to 6 strips of thin churros is a big no.

One small downside is hard to charge devices if they are busy as there only a handful of places to charge. But perfect place to work. And definitely a great shop!

On our way through the airport we had a long layover and decided to sit down and relax for a little bit. This location was great. It was a casual seating area and the staff was extremely friendly with us foreigners. The broista made some fun designs on the tasty cappuccino. The mango and passion fruit smoothie was refreshing and the banana crisps were delicious!!

Great experience overall; however, the coffee cup is smaller compared to most places that charge the same price. It doesn’t offer good value for money. And i came more than 5 times and give the same feedback and nothing changes…

Very slow service at their terminal 2 branch literally waited 30 minutes to be served. Even after countless complaints i was still not served.I left the place i personally would not recommend it.worst customer service experience. All i wanted was a simple breakfast before check in

Kinda bad experience possibly close to horrible, Cheese Burger does not have cheese available as out of cheese, Wraps are not available as out of tortilla wrap, Curry & Rice not available as out of ingredients instead being forced to have Makange Fish or Chicken. Limited options as not everything on the menu is available due to not having enough ingredients. Nice Environment & good service.

Cozy and wide environment，they have a big yard for parking and also a exhibition for handicrafts.Cafe latte tastes good，service speed is a bit slow，we waited almost 20mins get our coffe.Too many ants crawling on the table until i left there were still ants on my clothes.

Came here for the Christmas night market and there were maybe ~10 vendors. Goods were nice and I ended up staying for the jazz event. This cafe is doing great work in fostering community for Oyster Bar + beyond. Really lovely evening

Visited The Drum earlier today for Monday Movie Night and absolutely loved the cosy urban Garden atmosphere. Well maintained, simple yet comfortable setting. Service is quite impressive, the waiter were smiling through out and definitely knew how to make you feel welcomed. Drinks are innovative and commendable. Bonus points for the bamboo straws 🙂

I visited here after i red a turk’s comment. I tried margharita and beef pizza. It was thin crust. Service was a bit slow. Overall we liked it.

This visit was not worth it. The pizzas were to fatty and the pepperoni can not be called pepperoni. It is more like a soft and brown sausage. We ordered two pizzas, one with additional olives. They put the olives not on my pizza, but the pizza of my friend, who hates them.. The juice cups are like a fly-trap. The flys can go inside the cup but can not leave, since they drown in the juice. I recommend to change these. The ambience itself is nice, but the staff likes to play with the volume of the music, which may be annoying after a while. We mentioned the circumstances but still got charged to full price, which should not be done, if the restaurant wants their guests to come again… PS: When asking for takeaway of the left pieces, you are not offered a box, but a paper bag which crushes and squeezes the slices. Try to finish your food up.

A Tanzanian owned coffee shop, from one talented cook; very humble lady...she's doing a remarkable job, very delish food, English and local. Some staff are letting her down but they still have a room to improve especially on service, otherwise it's a good place for great food. Was here for the English #AllDayBreakfast and it was lovely
