Sorrentos Cafe, located in a historic Post Office building, offers a modern and spacious dining room where guests can enjoy a diverse menu featuring global dishes alongside Modern Australian cuisine. Despite its Italian-inspired name, the restaurant focuses on using local produce from the Limestone Coast to create top-quality dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it an ideal spot for indulging in a hearty breakfast or exploring international flavors.
We were probably the only ones in the restaurant on a rainy Saturday night. Chris was very generous and when my pasta was made with cheese in error - he got it remade and customised it as per my taste and liking, and all this with a smile! The service was prompt, we ordered pasta, chicken risotto, steak and packed some takeaway burger and fries. Everything was delicious. The cocktails were good too. They have a happy hours on cocktails on Fridays (which we missed). Will come back again when visiting Mount Gambier.

We stopped in here for lunch as it's across the road from one of the sink holes. Very quiet, not many people in there. I used the QR code to order our food and drink, and it was pretty fast. We enjoyed the food.

Lovely seating options under a covered outdoor area with great gas heaters inside and out to keep you warm. Just lost a star for weak coffee, which is to many people's liking, but when a black coffee is brown, you already know it will just taste more like water, which it sadly did. The food was great though, with my extra crispy bacon on my eggs benedict cooked perfectly, and perfect hollandaise, and the chocolate sauce on the waffles was thick and decadent.
Go W — Google review
Disappointed to say the least. This was lamb. My friend and I both had the same thing, and even she said the meat in the focaccia was definitely lamb, not steak. It's even cut in strips like they use in their lamb wrap. I told the waitress it was lamb, and she went to the chef, came back, and said no, it's our beef, not lamb. I know what lamb looks like and tastes like. I don't appreciate being made to feel like an idiot and like I was the one in the wrong. They did offer to make another one, but why would I want another one. I was in the mood for a steak focaccia, not lamb. I didn't want another lamb one! After a few bites, combined with being made to feel like the customer was definitely wrong and stupid, I ended up losing my appetite altogether. Really disappointed. The meals Gere just keep getting worse everytime I go here. Sad, because I used to love it before it was sold by the previous owners!!!

Arrived to mount Gambier later on a Sunday evening. Ordered a delivery small Carbonara, cheesy garlic bread and chicken caesar salad. Arrived hot, tasty and well presented (for takeaway). Carbonara was creamy, bacony goodness, bonus was the spring onions still had crunch and pasta was perfectly cooked and coated in sauce

A decent place for lunch and breakfast at Mt. Gambier. They have wide variety of options. One of very few cafes with all day menu at Mt. Gambier. Really loved the coffee. We've ordered big breakfast and french croissant. Would have been better with greens, beans and mushrooms than heaps of Bacon rashers and chorizo. Even croissant was served with lot of bacon rashers which is not my liking.
Sudheer B — Google review
Went for desserts on our visit to Mt. Gambier. Must visit, lovely spot for savoury and sweet toothed alike. Place was clean and the staff were lovely. Four star, took them long before we received our order.
Subia A — Google review
Update: Best eggs and service. Upgraded to 5 stars. Staff are attentive, atmosphere is calm and food is excellent.. a minor request was no problem for chef and results were top flight. : Family breakfast winner. Pancakes & milkshakes for kids were a winner and Eggs Benedict were just right. Highly recommend this venue for meals at reasonable prices, served by friendly staff in comfy surroundings.

Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Caffe Belgiorno is a popular spot in Mount Gambier, known for its traditional Italian cuisine, pizza, and wine. The bustling dining room with exposed beams adds to the unique atmosphere of the place. Customers have enjoyed various dishes such as oven-baked salmon and steak with seafood. While there is no table service, the staff is described as friendly and efficient. Some minor maintenance issues were noted by visitors, but overall, Caffe Belgiorno offers consistently good food and service.
Amazing spot for Italian food! The pizza and pasta were the stars—packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. The bruschetta? Unforgettable. Big portions, and surprisingly affordable. It's totally satisfying and worth every bite!
Kiran S — Google review
Caffe Belgiorno – Decent Pasta, Average Pizza ★★★★☆ / ★★★☆☆ The pasta was nice (★★★★☆), but the pizza wasn’t as good (★★★☆☆)—it lacked the quality I was hoping for. I ordered two different takeaway pizzas, but neither met expectations. They offer a wide variety of dishes, which makes it difficult to maintain consistently high quality across the menu. I’d need to try more food to get a better sense of what they do best. Overall, a decent experience, but some dishes could be improved. Thanks
Vahid S — Google review
Food is excellent. It came out fairly quickly and was hot and very tasty. The penne Dijon was excellent and chicken and Cranberry Calzone was also fantastic. Service was fantastic. Staff were friendly and efficient. The Cafe has a great warm atmosphere, however as I am an old bugger, it got a little noisy for me at times. The price was extremely reasonable. Overall a place that I would happily recommend.

Good value. Good service. Orders placed at bar and you find your own table, but staff are attentive & friendly. Pasta great with a glass of the house red.
David P — Google review
Ordered 2 pizzas, they were good, size is fine. Binch of people, were there on a Sunday. Reservation might be helpful. Staff was friendly. Little loud as all is just in one room.
Anja M — Google review
Delicious Carbonara pasta - definitely a memorable choice and one we would travel for! Pizza was solid without exciting the crowd... we tried the prawn and prosciutto. Cheap and cheerful pricing with a great restaurant vibe! Worth trying!
Quy V — Google review
The food was good, the atmosphere busy. We managed to get our food in a reasonable time. The service was lacking though (if that's what you'd call it). Had to order at the bar and couldn't catch a smile from the wait staff even if you tried. Also were quick to clear the plates, would clear mine as soon as I had finished eating before my partner even had a chance to finish his meal.

The South Eastern Hotel is a popular choice for families looking for an indoor playground to entertain their kids. They offer a large menu with a variety of options, including classic pub meals and a salad and roast veg bar. The slow cooked pork ribs are deliciously juicy and the grilled fish is also highly recommended. The salad and veg bar provides a good range of choices, and the servings are generous while remaining reasonably priced. The dining hall has a lively atmosphere, with quick and friendly service.
Best garlic prawns I've ever had!! The BBQ pork ribs was also a yummy and a generous portion!!! Was so good for a pub feed. They also have a complimentary salad bar which is cool 10/10 💯💯

Food it’s great the service spot on cleanliness top notch but…….. 1.does not disclose the eftpos surcharge publicly 2.paying for a cardboard box after finished eating is silly 3.when I order a roast of the day u get only 2 pieces of thin meat and 3 potatoes and that’s it that’s not even disclosed in the menu when asked staff about the vegetables they say get them from the food bar went to the food bar not a single vegetable to be found I’ve given the benefit of the doubt but that was the first time but I have now been back several time to see if it’s different but no it’s not now if I want a roast of the day I wand all the proper vegetables for the price of 29.90 plus the surcharge

Had a great family dinner here. Good range of classic pub meals as well as a great salad and roast veg bar. The kids devoured the slow cooked pork ribs, which were juicy and meat cooked perfectly. Grilled fish was also great. Salad and veg bar has a good range of options. Servings are generous and prices are very reasonable. Some good local house wines available by the glass. Service is quick and friendly and the dining hall has a good buzz about it.

Daus A — Google review
We got there with 30 mins till kitchen closed, on a public holiday, and the staff were the nicest people we have ever met. Kids ate free ( Mondays), and we were also able to help ourselves to a lovely salad bar too. Great Gluten free options made my allergies so much easier to get a yum nutritious meal, I had the Mexican bowl and it was great, we are coming back in a few months and will be dining there again. I can't wait to try the Thai chicken salad ! The kids loved their meals, hubby's schnitzel and chips were massive and looked incredible. My bowl was super yum!
Shivaun L — Google review
Very noisy place to eat but is good for families with young kids as there is an indoor playground. My meal was one of the worst I've had in a long time. I do not recommend the burrito bowl at all. Extremely over cooked white rice, jar salsa, barely any cheese, and very tasteless. The beans were just poured out of the can, juice, and all. I noticed a lot of the meals on nearby tables were only half eaten, and it wasn't because they were large serves. I saw a teenage male eat half a pizza, and what guy doesn't demolish a good pizza. I am very disappointed in the food and won't be returning. I did complain about the meal, which I have rarely done before but wasn't even offered a free drink, let alone a refund.

Delicious coffee!!!! We walked to this little Cafe from our accommodation and it was definitely worth it. Local small town vibes where all are welcome. Staff were lovely and service was quick. I'll be sure to tell everyone coming to Mount Gambier that this place is a must. Only sad point is that I can't take this place home with us.

Absolutely loved the coffee here! The matcha latte with almond milk was smooth and perfectly balanced, and the long black packed a great flavour punch. Super chill vibes and friendly service — definitely worth a visit if you’re after quality brews and good energy. 🖤

This place had a steady stream of customers when we visited on a mid week morning. Lots of locals and regulars. Very happy we chose this cafe to try whilst we were staying in town. All the pastries, muffins, toasties were great and coffee was perfect too. Topped off with a great atmosphere and welcoming and warm staff.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience in Mount Gambier, look no further than Molten Chocolate Cafe. This charming spot is renowned for its exceptional coffee and mouthwatering dishes that rival those found in licensed restaurants. Diners rave about the hearty meals, like rissoles with perfectly cooked vegetables and indulgent desserts that are simply divine. The cafe's friendly baristas add to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring you feel right at home as you savor their unique offerings.
We had an excellent lunch here today, the wife had the hamburger& chips & couldn't finish it, so we asked for & received a take home container. I had the Rissoles & mash with vegetables, the veggies were cooked to perfection with still a little crispness, the rissoles mash & gravy were equally enjoyable, a good hearty meal at very reasonable prices, highly recommended.

Very fare prices for decent serves of food. Small, basic breakfast menu but what you receive is well cooked. A few hot chocolate flavours not as many as older reviews advise. Overall would go back
Aimee — Google review
Excellent value and good service. Ham and salad sandwich, ham and cheese croissant, good coffee and hot chocolate for 22 bucks. Plus when we left our umbrella they kept it aside for us. Will be back.
Bob H — Google review
Truly great coffee, and some of the best food I've encountered outside of a licensed restaurant. The deserts here are somewhat unusual, and those I've tried have been sinfully delicious. Service is good. They also have take-home bags of drinking chocolate, though I have yet to try any.
Evan C — Google review
The staff at the front counter were very surly and blunt; a smile and a friendly disposition go a long way toward keeping the customers returning. The special burger was average, decent coffee this time, and the dessert was divine. I don't live in Mount Gambier, but have been on a couple of previous occasions with friends.

If you're in Mount Gambier and have a sweet tooth, make sure to stop by the Royal Copenhagen Ice Creamery. This charming establishment specializes in crafting authentic Danish-style ice cream right on-site, ensuring every scoop is fresh and delicious. The experience gets even better with their self-serve toppings bar, where you can customize your treat to perfection. Whether you're looking for a classic flavor or something more adventurous, this ice creamery promises a delightful dessert adventure that will leave you craving more!
For an ice cream shop, they offer a lot of flavours and varieties. They also offer waffles and doughnuts. Likewise, the staff are very friendly and doesn't seem to be feeling bothered when asked for a favour. They smile a lot too. The place is clean and well-maintained. I couldn’t really say anything bad as they also ask for feedback and suggestions for new flavours. Will come back for this.
AJ M — Google review
Great place to catch up with friends for a coffee. Unfortunately the coffee was cold and the iced coffee was warm but they were happy to replace both items and they were perfect! The menus on the tables are extremely tatty and a bit dirty and old - i would definitely suggest that they look in to replacing them with new ones. Please don't let the look of the menus pit you off. The menu choices are MASSIVE! From all day breakfasts, to burgers, to salads, kids menu, vegetarian items, waffles, crepes, churros, doughnuts, ice cream.... I could go on forever! All styles of coffees, milkshakes, thickshakes, iced coffees/chocolate. As well as a full bar with a beautiful cocktail list. Seating available both inside and outside. I definitely recommend stopping in at Royal Copenhagen!! Whether you stay for a coffee and a meal, or just go for an amazing dessert, or stop and get something ro take away you won't be disappointed. VISIT #3 Unfortunately we returned to Royal Copenhagen with friends visiting from Queensland and we were extremely disappointed. When we arrived it was relatively quiet. We ordered our food. There were 4 of us. Our order was placed as one whole order and paid for as one whole order. 2 of us ordered the Turkish Steak Sandwich 1 of those was minus tomato and lettuce, 1 ordered a Beef and Bacon Burger, 1 ordered Eggs Benedict. We also ordered 1 S'more Doughnuts, 1 Warm Caramel Popcorn Doughnuts and 1 serve of Pancakes to be served after our meals. The meals... 30 minutes after ordering.. 1 Turkish steak sandwich with chips was served. 10 minutes later... 1 Turkish steak sandwich minus tomato and lettuce with chips was served. 6 minutes later... 1 Beef and Bacon Burger with chips was served. 5 minutes later... 1 Eggs Benedict was served. We did ask where the rest of our meals were and each time we were told they wouldn't be much longer. However, by the time we all had our meals the rest of the tables food was cold. The meals were terrible. The Turkish bread wasn't fresh and had that unpleasant fridge type taste. The steak was tough and could not be eaten. The Burger bun was stale and not toasted. The meat pattie had no flavour. BUT - the chips that were served with these 3 meals were fantastic! The eggs Benedict was served on raw not toated muffins and the eggs were unpleasant. We were BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. We spoke to the staff but none of them seemed to care and we were not offered any form of attempts to rectify these problems. Because we had been waiting so long for our meals we had run out of time and had to ask for our desserts to be packed for is to take away. The doughnuts are nothing like the beautiful Doughnuts I have had previously from them. They were not fluffy and yummy. The whole experience this time around was just awful. I don't know if I am prepared to give Royal Copenhagen another go after this experience. $120 was completely wasted by going here. And I was absolutely embarrassed by their performance. I will no longer be recommending Royal Copenhagen to people and I certainly will not be taking our visitors there again.

The Hot Chocolate is very good as usual. Thick, full, smooth and lusciously good. You should try their chocolate drink when you come here and I cannot highly recommend it! I love the breakfast, no issues there at all but the smoked salmon that I got was all dried up and flaky. It must have been staying in the fridge or freeze for quite some time. I hope this won’t happen to any other customers. Other than that, I am very satisfied with everything. Thank you.
Kurt — Google review
Decided to stop by after dinner for something sweet. Staff were friendly. We went for an ice cream and a frappe. Both were rich and yum. The frappe had a scoop of their cappuccino ice cream blended into it, making it even better! The only thing that could have made it better is a bigger straw as the frappe was thick and my straw could not keep up. Cannot fault the service or options. Would recommend.
Komal J — Google review
Dropped in on Saturday morning. Ordered a white hot chocolate, cappuccino, blueberry pancakes, vegetable omelet no bread and eggs benedict. The pancakes took the longest to arrive but was well worth the wait. The hot chocolate had white chocolate drizzled to the brim of the cup which was very much enjoyed. Ordered pancakes and paid $18 for them. They were TINY! We also ordered a kids plate and the pancake on her plate was the same size as the adult one. Bit of a rip off. The donuts were nice but there was WAY too much cinammon sugar - had to scrape it off to find the donuts! Coffee was ok though and there wasn't too much of a wait. Overall very average and expensive for what we got.

Indulge in your caffeine fix at the popular local establishment, Bricks & Mortar Coffee Co café. This charming brew bar space offers an array of ethically sourced coffee options along with delectable toasties, salads, and a tempting assortment of sweet treats. Don't forget Sitchu's recommendation to grab your coffee to-go and enjoy a refreshing morning stroll around Vansittart Park.
☕️Great Spot! The service was really good, friendly, authentic and efficient. The design of the cafe is very modern and clean. I had a cappuccino, toasted banana bread and toasted chicken schnitzel sandwich. (22$) They were all very good, the cofee had a great temperatur and tasted good. The banana bread was probably on of the best I have had because it was toasted perfectly. The sandwich was overall good and filling, but nothing too special. If you want to have a proper breakfast menu then this spot might fall a bit short for you. They offer breakfast sandwiches, bagels and some sweet bakery but no eggs on toast for example. Extra point for a special idea: they offer a special service. You can text them your order and it will be ready when you pick up. I was surprised that a lot of customers were older people, I believe a good sign for their quality food. You also had people working there so they can deliver good service and food to different types of people. Overall great spot. The only thing that would make this spot even better are more options for food.

Stopped for a picnic lunch at Vansittart Park and Botanical Gardens in Mt. Gambier and the facade of Bricks & Mortar Coffee Co. caught our attention. An enticing aroma of coffee greeted us at the threshold, and the lattes served up did not disappoint. Lots of seating inside and outdoors streetside. It is a welcoming environment, and the team is friendly and engaging. Would have picked out a pastry from the display and lingered a bit had we not had to get on our way.

In reference to their sign ‘this is the place I told you about’… this most definitely is a place that I was told about by a colleague who said B&M has the best coffee in the Mount and they didn’t disappoint! Great coffee! Small selection of wraps and other sweet bites. Got Melbourne vibes from this place, would definitely revisit when back in the Mount.

I agree with other reviewers, best coffee in Mount Gambier. Prompt and friendly service, just superb coffee, I think their cups are slightly smaller, I like that because it means your coffee tastes better, not to diluted... quality not quantity! Easy parking out front to pick up a coffee on the go. Update Apr 23, still great coffee!

The staff is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant stay for both adults and kids. The park provides ample space for caravans and pets are welcome too. Surrounded by open spaces and country vibes, it's an ideal spot to relax. Visitors can also enjoy visits from local wineries, distilleries, and food vans during their holiday stay.
Greta location just outside of the town. Ammenities were clean and plentiful, nice hot showers and laundry facilities. Can’t comment on rooms as we camped in a powered site. Option to add on a fire pit hire and wood was nice. You are close to other campers but it’s a caravan park so not sure what else you would expect. Wasn’t an issue for us as we were here in winter so a fair bit quieter. Lovely little town and site is close to the blue lake. Friendly staff and easy check in. Would absolutely stay again. If you are passing through absolutely check out the sink hole garden in town!!

We had a great stay at Pine Country Caravan Park! The place was super clean, well kept, and the kids had an awesome time running around. The food and coffee trucks were a highlight, everything we tried was delicious. The only downside was the wait time. Our bungalow was small but had everything we needed. We’d planned to enjoy the fire pit we ordered, but the rain spoiled that part. Overall, a really nice spot for a family getaway. We’d definitely recommend it!

Stayed at a powered site and the sites were big, we just had to turned our motorhome around for better grass accessibility and that worked well. The toilets and showers were clean. The shower cubicle was a good size unlike other parks which are pokey. I was showering at dusk and the lights blew so I had to rush. Following morning the issue was rectified. Also, accessible to the blue lake.

Nice, quiet spot surrounded by trees and plenty of space between sites. The cabins were clean and comfy, and the park felt well looked after. Staff were friendly and helpful, made check-in easy. It’s not far from the main town and attractions like the Blue Lake. Good place to stay if you’re doing a road trip or just need a few nights to relax.

Beautiful view and spacious play area for children. Nice kitchen ,clean amenities. Unfortunately we found our cabin not as we expected to be. Dusty and dirty floor, no mop in the cabin so I can't clean it, have to go to Coles bought some paper towel to wiped down the floors. we arrived bit late so couldn't tell the staff in the office as they closed at 5.30pm. My son found his blanket stained with blood🤔, good thing there is extra blanket that he can use. The electric stove is not really usefull, as I have to wait to cooked like half an hour just to make scramble eggs.

🏕️Quiet and pretty camping site. I booked online and the website already gave me a good first impression. Clean design and easy booking process. When I arrived a lovely lady helped me out. My booking was already prepaired so it was a quick and easy check in. The park itself is very well looked after, large but cute. The location is 1km from main Mount Gambier so it’s nice and quiet during the nights. They offer various types of accommodation and all in all looked very good. There are multiple toilets spread out throughout the park and all the toilets and showers are clean. I liked their camp kitchen area, they have cute lighting and have all the amenities you need for cooking. If you are travelling with children then this is also a good spot as they have swings, playhouse and jumping area. + Alpacas 🦙 There was staff taking care of the park and you can feel that they make sure everything is up to standard. The price was very fair. I paid 30$ per night for an unpowered site. Overall great stay and would definitely come again.

This park is one of the worst that we have unfortunately stayed at. Amenities block old and very ordinary. Camp kitchen small and open to the elements. So close to the centre of town and yet no phone service. Wifi was provided for 500mb , that lasted 5 minutes. We had paid for 2 nights but left after the first. Plenty of parks in the area and I would recommend going elsewhere.

The caravan sites are drive through, plenty of room for annex and your car. The site was very clean and mowed, and the toilets were very clean. On the weekend they had a food van in for breakfast and dinner. Great spot, we will be back.

Nestled in the heart of Mount Gambier, OK Pie Shop is a delightful family-run bakery that promises a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff are always eager to assist you, guiding you through their tempting selection of pies. A must-try here is the Cornish pie, featuring a unique blend of pork mince, potato, and carrot—a true local specialty! For those craving something crispy and savory, the mini sausage roll comes highly recommended for its delicious crunch.
Delicious pies! We loved the pizza pie

Lovely family bakery shop. All staff very friendly to answer your questions and introduce items. Must try Cornish as special I never have before, which is mixed pork mince, potato and carrot inside. The staff suggested popular mini sausage roll was crispy and tasty. And the mushroom pie was strong mushroom taste with a lot beef mince. Large coffee with almond milk was nice hot. Highly recommended when stay at Mt Gambier.

Love this place. Service is sometimes a touch dodgy, but the food, especially the sausage rolls, are so good that they make up for that anyway. Highly recommend.

So unfortunately in this instance, the name is an indicator of the food…yes, there were a decent assortment of pies on offer & yes, I was greeted by a friendly person more than happy to answer my questions. Also, I can’t fault the pastry on either of the 2 pies or the roll we got. Unfortunately the pies were just as the establishment…well…established! They were OK…we got a mushroom (mince & mushroom) & a cheese & bacon. Sadly they were eerily similar, I’d say 90% mince beef with only a sprinkle of mushroom & then cheese & bacon on top. So I’m reluctant to say but the pies were hi hum…therefore OK. Gladly the kransky roll was Yum! Same buttery flaky pastry but there was a whole kransky inside & it had a relish surprise inside, which was far more evident than the mushrooms or the cheese & bacon on the pies

Come to Mount Gambier for the day from Victoria and i cant believe how rude the staff are at this bakery. Not a smile and I was basically yelled at when asked what pies I wanted. The lady with the dark hair especially. I couldnt believe it. Will never return. And thanks for your reply but it doesn't excuse the rudeness, you work in hospitality, learn to smile and be polite to customers and not yell at them

Because of South Aussie with Cosi we came down from Adelaide to try a pie and finger bun and coffee Great south Aussie shop with good service and nice staff Tasty food too 😀

When I am in mount Gambier I always go here. No more , served by the most unfriendly girl. Asked for Kitchener bun , even described to her , wound up with finger bun (tasteless). She couldn't work out the price finally tallied $14.20 ,gave a twenty after an eternity she gave me $5.20 change. Pie was overheated.can of coke overpriced. No smile no effort not even a thank you

Sadly not what it used to be..sausage rolls are awesome...bit into a custard tart and there was a big hole between the custard and pastry...we bought 4 and they were all the same ..waste of money and really disappointed

Try the rainbow burrito/taco ice cream. They're so pretty and sweet. Turns out fairy floss is a great mix to ice cream, I wouldn't have guessed. Place is a bit empty, but food is great.
