One of the oldest, if not the oldest cafe in Trieste. It is located on the largest square and has a wonderful view. The service is a bit slower, but that is common in Italy when you come to popular places. The food is the worst - the pasta with tomatoes and gambori is bad, the pasta is store-bought and as if it should have been cooked a little more to be al dente, and the gambori are frozen and you can really feel it in the taste. Prices above the average for Trieste. It's worth coming and having a drink, but not much more than that. Be prepared that if you sit outside, pigeons (mostly) and seagulls will land on chairs and tables and try to take your food, which can be very irritating and unhygienic.

Do you know what kindness means? Kindness is when someone helps you when you’re most in need. My boyfriend and I were craving something sweet, and the guys at this place came through for us. Even though it was late on a Tuesday night and they were literally closing and packing up, they offered to prepare some sweet delights for takeaway. They packed everything with great care, very discreetly and with top-quality packaging. When we came home, we enjoyed the beautiful sweetness of what they had to offer.

This is an upscale, historic café with a truly charming atmosphere. The place feels elegant and exclusive, yet the staff are very warm, welcoming, and attentive. Service is excellent. Whatever you order to drink, it’s accompanied by small snack like chips, peanuts, and cocktail toasts. They are also dog-friendly !

Caffe Degli Specchi is the only thing I didn’t like in/about Trieste. The man who showed me to the table didn’t smile a single time. Neither did the woman who took my order. Both stone faced, both looked grumpy and not too welcoming. Showed me to a table under the glaring sun - no umbrella, no shade. Seagulls kept stealing people’s food and overturning ashtrays. Out of three things I ordered, only 2 arrived. Coffee was mediocre. Half the size and double the price of a coffee I had for brunch at a different restaurant in Trieste. Dessert was mediocre and on the expensive side. Took ages to pay because their card terminal didn’t work. The gentleman who came to rescue the unhappy man who didn’t know how to take a payment from me was the only one who smiled and apologized. I understand it’s the oldest cafe in Trieste, but with the attitude they currently have… unsure why they still have a high rating.

This place is amazing! It brings you back in past, in some better times, with it's interior mostly, than with classic music etc. Stuff is very polite and helpful, and range of coffee and sweets is extremely wide and tasty. Highly recommendation for this place on Triestes central square.

A lovely little ice cream shop in the heart of the city. I really appreciate how well they organized the numbering system so there’s no crowding or uncomfortable pushing while waiting. I'm giving this five stars even though I never ate there. At ten o'clock at night the wait was at least half and hour and there were 44 parties ahead of me. I bailed. Apparently it's worth the wait and vies with Oggi for the title of best in Trieste.

Very busy with a ticketing system. You can only taste two flavours. The mango flavour was very light. The pistachio soft serve flavour was even lighter. The creaminess of the ricotta pistachio was great, complemented with pistachio paste. It was almost a stressful dining experience because of the ticketing system and there wasn't enough seating outside for everyone to enjoy their ice cream. The servers seemed impatient and weren't overly friendly, probably because they have a backlog of customers to get through. There seemed to be only locals ordering ice cream.

Best ice cream in Udine, along the bike lane heading to Cividale a bit fare from city center. Benches inside and outside to taste the ice cream.

Very friendly service during our visit at this generational family-run outlet. Heavenly ice-cream exploding with goodness and flavour off the charts. Delicious pistacchio and chocolate, but particularly one I've never heard before but well worth trying: "Scricchio" which has a hazelnut/almond notes with a biscuit texture. YUM!

Whenever there is a queue, it means that there is something good in it 😁People don't wait in the rain for no reason. Timballo is one of the best in Friuli! Please go and enjoy any kind of gelato you want if you are in Udine! You will not regret! There are a couple of tables inside and the terrace. I’ve been here several times and it is always a favorite. Such a unique little cafe with much more to it than meets the eye from the street. It is a great place to buy gifts or simply enjoy a cappuccino! I always feel as though I’m in a little dollhouse tea party whenever I am in the back room.

Fantastic selection of pastries, pralines and coffee! Pasticceria Cioccolateria Peratoner is a classy, somewhat old school pasticceria known for their chocolate skills and hot chocolate. Their harmonious blend is made from cocoa beans from Brazil, Ecuador and Venezuela. The hot chocolate is rich, earthy and just barely sweet. Topped with freshly whipped cream, it’s a dream! Their pastries are also great: soft brioche buns with a generous filling of pastry cream, crisp butter pastry with a velvety pistacchio cream, etc.

Came for lunch, arrived 1350 with no waiting. They have a daily sale from Tues - Sat from 8-14 that includes meal, water, and coffee for a set price (12 euros). By the time the server came over at 1403, he said the sale was over at 14 hours, even though we sat there for 13 minutes before the waiter came to take our orders. I ordered the English breakfast plate and it was good. By 1430, there was a very long line to be seated inside, and the staff was so busy that they never came back and didn't even get the coffee that was also ordered. I tried ordering some chocolate desserts since we couldn't get the waiter to help us while seated, but that did not work either. Never got the nutella cookies i wanted. This place may get a better score when not too busy.

I came to Pordenone for the first time and was really surprised by the beauty of the town. I saw this beautiful pasticceria and cafe bar that served delicious spritz aperol courses. Is absolutely astonishing and very cheap! Paid only 5€ . Highly recommend.

As always with Peratoner, the hot chocolate was perfect. Their cocoa blend adds a special flavor to the chocolate that cannot be found anywhere else. Prepared on a water base, the chocolate has a dark and deep color, followed by just the right density. At Peratoner, they always provide a homely but at the same time professional chocolate ambiance. From the very first step into the bar, you could detect the faint smell of sweets. As always, the staff is extremely friendly, and they go out of their way to make the experience even more pleasant.

We've come to this place now and then in summer. Prices are still the same (2€/scoop), but they don't do a mixed scoop. I'm missing more flavors to chose from and a scoop is small comparing to elsewhere. I can recommend lemon flavor! Fig on picture was also nice, tho quite sweet. There are vegan options 👌

I suspect this is the first time we have ever stayed above an Gelataria. Madge insisted we give it a go. Huge selection of ice cresms, sorbets and cups. A single scoop in a cone for 1.90€ is great value. Mint choc chip yummy as was my stracciatella, an Italian favourite.

Absolutely delicious gelato at Gelateria Antonianzzi! One of the best we’ve had in Grado – creamy, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. The pistachio and hazelnut were our favorites, but every flavor we tried was excellent. Friendly staff and a perfect spot for a sweet break during a walk. Highly recommended!

We sat outside, the day was pleasant, in the shade of a cypress tree next to a meadow full of spring flowers. A beautiful Caffe with a view of the Basillica. Superb, creamy, real Italian espresso, you can't miss it. Desserts are not only pleasing to the eye, but also taste fantastic. We ate an apple cake with a special filling. Toast and sandwich correct, prices affordable.

For me it was a bit too sweet but my friend take cupcake with white chocalate&lamponi. For me the only issue was the tempature inside because there was no Air Condition. In overall nice to try, not usual concept in Trieste.

A very cute small caffe. We had a matcha latte with oat milk, it was very tasty and it has a foam! We didn’t have any food, but we saw they have cupcskes, cookies, cakes, etc, which all look good and also have options for vegans and gluten free. Only wish they had almond milk.. Takeaway is also possible.

Normally I never write bad reviews but today’s encounter at this place had me at lost for words…I know I shouldn’t have brought in a cannolo from another shop, but I still ordered and paid for my coffee without issue. Instead of addressing it calmly, the owner/worker there(not sure?)chose to gossip about me in Italian and later confronted me with passive-aggressive and verbally hostile remarks. It felt unprofessional and unnecessary, especially from someone representing the business. Perhaps focusing more on improving attitude would be better for customers and I hope she remembers me every time she sees a cannolo.”

Have been to this cafe many times with family. In 2022, they prepared delicious ice cream, this year, 2023, everything was tasteless! There was only a beautiful picture, and the quality, unfortunately, deteriorated very much.

Disgusting. Frozen food. Pizza with tuna sour, fries half raw, "German Wurst" does not resemble meat, but dog food. The staff does not speak English and does not understand anything. The chef assures that the dishes are sold very often and no one complains, maybe they do not understand what the customers are saying. Drama. I advise avoiding this place.

Absolutely unacceptable! This bar doesn’t believe in treating guests with basic decency – instead, they physically confront you because a waiter imagines you’re connecting to their Bluetooth speaker. No words, no questions – just hands on my shoulder, out of nowhere. No warning, no respect, no justification. If that’s your idea of customer service, you might as well shut the place down. Aggressive, rude, and downright embarrassing.

I have been coming to Capitan Morgan every year during my holidays in Lignano, and it has always been one of my favorite spots. However, what happened yesterday completely changed my opinion. One of the evening waiters, “Ivan”my absolute favorite and someone who has always made my visits special was fired in front of all the customers, right in the middle of his shift. It was an incredibly unprofessional and humiliating scene, both for him and for those of us who witnessed it. I couldn’t believe how disrespectfully the owners handled the situation. This happened on my last day of vacation, and unfortunately, I left Italy with a very bitter memory. Shame on the management for treating a dedicated employee like that. I sincerely hope the owners reflect on their actions and how they treat their staff because no one deserves to be humiliated like that.

We started the day with breakfast at the oldest cafe in Trieste, Pasticceria La Bomboniera, which dates back to 1836. This Austro-Hungarian style pastry shop specializes in pastries like Rigojancsi, Sacher, Linzer, and Pischinger. They still use the original wood-fired oven.

I can only recommend the patisserie. Try to get a place inside to get feeling about the place. It's a bit like a well functioning beehive. The sweets and hot chocolate were amazing and the prices very reasonable.

Poor service. They forgot our order after we waited for 20 minutes at the terrace. With only 5 other table with guests. They speak only Italian. There is like 5-6 people working and no one didn’t even try to say 1 word of english. After we said that they forget cakes for our kids, we waited for 10 minutes and they forget it again. And one important thing. They do not have a toilet. This is also against the Italian law.

Great place to have a gelato if you are walking around Udine. The server is polite and nice. On my latest ocasion, I tried the salty caramel and gianduja chocolate. They were both a good combination, however, I much preferred the orange and ricotta one. That was quite special.

One of my favorite cafés in Trieste. I love their sweets, especially the red velvet cake and red velvet cupcake. Today, I also happened to try their vegan lunch, and I can say it’s really, really good. BUT, today we went there between 12:20 and 13:00, and the service was really BAD. One of the staff members kept chitchatting, not paying attention at all. I saw that our order was ready, but she stood there talking for about 2–3 minutes with one of her colleagues right in front of our cake and coffee before serving it. I mean, how can a staff member keep talking in front of a client’s order? Imagine her saliva landing on our food. Secondly, she didn’t even say “excuse me” or anything when she came to remove our plates. The really bad part was that she stood behind me, noisily throwing all the utensils onto the tray like she was mad or something. She also got my husband’s order wrong, which I can understand since it was a busy hour. However, I’ve never met such a rude staff member in my life until today.

I received a cancellation email from the store at 6 PM. Icecream was delicious & amazing, but the cashier lady was the rudest ever! She made us feel really bad. There is a selfie machine in entrance, that we were trying before entering, & she was like: what do you want? We said we wanna get icecream. She said then come in & get. In a very rude way, like saying you don’t belong here get out. Also while weighting she was rude & impatient. Icecream with any topping you want(with a lot of options) is 22€ per kilo. A typical icecream will cost you about 7€ I give 5 stars for the icecream taste, variety of tastes & toppings, but 1 star for rude staff who ruined the experience.

The ice cream here is just incredible! We took different sorts of it and they taste exactly like each ingredient. I really want to mention that the pistachio flavor is not like usual ice from the supermarket or other places, it tastes exactly like fresh pistachios! What you come here be ready that you whole imagination of good ice cream will be turned upside down! Definitely recommend it.

High quality gelato and interesting flavors on offer, plus a nice little biscuit added to your scoop. I paid 4 euros in June 2025 for two quite small scoops, like under a cup each... so for value I think there are other options in Trieste. But... on a hot day, this will absolutely do the trick and is worth the stop. I had their fragola (strawberry) and the pulcinella, which I think is ricotta with citrus zest and chocolate ripple.
