Service was short, rushed and somewhat rude at times. Staff was a bit bothered that we were there. Quite surprising as this was was my 3rd time there. Food was OK, with only 1 dish standing out. Will not return.

La Subida was an experience. Incredible food, knowledgeable and kind staff, gorgeous space, and such care for every detail. We chose a tasting menu and we were treated to a veritable feast for the eyes and palate, with little amuse-bouche in between courses and some truly exceptional wine. Absolutely recommended for special evenings.

I've been to many places over the past 40 years but I can say La Subida is the number one, ever, easily. Even before entering the place, you can feel the love they put in everything: decorations, artifacts, lights and of course in the foods and drinks. The place was waiting on my bucket list for many years and it was the best decision to make that note and now to complete it. I ate for dinner a 7 course degustation menu with a special wine selection for each round. Everything was just perfect. Will definitely come back regularly.

I had been planning this trip to Friuli for several years and a friend recommended La Subida, where he said he always stays. Our stay was amazing: the care, details, uniqueness and beauty of everything they do is truly inspired and inspiring. Our cottage was split-level, backing up to the vinegar house. We ate at both the cafe and the more formal restaurant and were really impressed with each course and the wines offered are superb. Sitting out on our back patio backing up to the trails and vineyards was beautiful and it is so peaceful there. If you go, you will want to stay longer than you booked. It is a very special place. It makes you appreciate everything more to be there. We felt lucky to have had it recommended. A highlight of our trip. It is a little bit magical.

I had the pleasure to host colleagues from different countries and cultures at Trattoria al Cacciatore, and truly everyone was amazed with each and every serving. Plates are uniquely refined, seasonal and local. Local wine selection is done with the same attention to detail. Grappa selection is best in class. Service is pleasant and attentive. Made me proud to host people in my region of origin.

This was definitely an outstanding experience! I was brought here by my boyfriend and his friends, and I was really surprised. This place is an oasis in the middle of nature. You can breath tradition and tranquility. The food, service and the decoration is one of the best I've experienced in Italy. Plus, they let our dog eat in the interior part of the restaurant (booking in advance of course). We will be back FOR SURE!

Came here on my first night at Trieste back on March 22nd. When I told them that I have a reservation in Italian, they were very welcoming and seated me. What I remember is that I had a Veggie Soup with Chocolate Cake. It was really good and the place inside was beautiful as well.

Definitely a recommendation, staff is very nice and the food was great, went there for breakfast and had to come again on our way to the Airport, because it was so good!

Fantastic quaint restaurant. You have to look for it (off the main drag). Worth the effort! Tagliatelle with beef ragu was fantastic! We had seen the photo from another review, and we knew we wanted it. Rich and delicious beef sauce on homemade pasta. Beautiful presentation. Since it was lunch, this dish and the warm, homemade bread we're all we could eat. The staff talked a lot with us. Very hospitable and welcoming. Fabulous experience!

The food here is really solid: their cacio e pepe is excellent, their chocolate cake delectable and their seared tuna with seasonal vegetables decent (albeit a little overcooked). The natural wines are also good. Prices are a little on the steeper end for Trieste and the portion size but as a tourist it’s more than reasonable.

This place is all about keeping it simple and straightforward. If you order pancakes with maple syrup, you’ll get pancakes with maple syrup. If you ask for scrambled eggs with bacon, that’s exactly what you’ll have—no extra garnish or unnecessary decoration. It’s honest food, straight to the point. The atmosphere is really nice, and I also loved that they have a great selection of natural wines for sale. Overall, a very pleasant spot.

This place is a bit off the beaten track and was a recommendation. I am really grateful that I had the chance to experience this little gem. It's a special place not just because of the ambience and atmosphere but also because of the truly amazing food. Food is homemade and very tasty. The menu is written on a chalkboard and you get a great explanation of every dish. With your food you can select from a wide range of wines to accompany your meal. Service is incredibly friendly and prices are more than fair. I will definitely come back and I strongly recommend this place to others. Your taste buds would really miss out on a great experience. My sincere Thanks to the entire team for this very pleasurable moment which was definitely a highlight of my Trieste visit.

One of the oldest, if not the oldest cafe in Trieste. It is located on the largest square and has a wonderful view. The service is a bit slower, but that is common in Italy when you come to popular places. The food is the worst - the pasta with tomatoes and gambori is bad, the pasta is store-bought and as if it should have been cooked a little more to be al dente, and the gambori are frozen and you can really feel it in the taste. Prices above the average for Trieste. It's worth coming and having a drink, but not much more than that. Be prepared that if you sit outside, pigeons (mostly) and seagulls will land on chairs and tables and try to take your food, which can be very irritating and unhygienic.

Do you know what kindness means? Kindness is when someone helps you when you’re most in need. My boyfriend and I were craving something sweet, and the guys at this place came through for us. Even though it was late on a Tuesday night and they were literally closing and packing up, they offered to prepare some sweet delights for takeaway. They packed everything with great care, very discreetly and with top-quality packaging. When we came home, we enjoyed the beautiful sweetness of what they had to offer.

This is an upscale, historic café with a truly charming atmosphere. The place feels elegant and exclusive, yet the staff are very warm, welcoming, and attentive. Service is excellent. Whatever you order to drink, it’s accompanied by small snack like chips, peanuts, and cocktail toasts. They are also dog-friendly !

Caffe Degli Specchi is the only thing I didn’t like in/about Trieste. The man who showed me to the table didn’t smile a single time. Neither did the woman who took my order. Both stone faced, both looked grumpy and not too welcoming. Showed me to a table under the glaring sun - no umbrella, no shade. Seagulls kept stealing people’s food and overturning ashtrays. Out of three things I ordered, only 2 arrived. Coffee was mediocre. Half the size and double the price of a coffee I had for brunch at a different restaurant in Trieste. Dessert was mediocre and on the expensive side. Took ages to pay because their card terminal didn’t work. The gentleman who came to rescue the unhappy man who didn’t know how to take a payment from me was the only one who smiled and apologized. I understand it’s the oldest cafe in Trieste, but with the attitude they currently have… unsure why they still have a high rating.

This place is amazing! It brings you back in past, in some better times, with it's interior mostly, than with classic music etc. Stuff is very polite and helpful, and range of coffee and sweets is extremely wide and tasty. Highly recommendation for this place on Triestes central square.

It wasn't too busy when we went there and it was a lovely experience. The staff was a nice and fast and the coffee was delicious. But as a person with a sweet tooth the absolute highlight was their signature cake. But caution, if you don't like desserts that are quite sweet, this may not be for you.

Great cafe with a lot of tradition. It now even has one of the highest rated bookstores in the world inside it. Has a lot of specialty coffee and bakes their own tasty cakes (we had the famous “Capo in B” and Sacher cake).

Beautiful place, coffee was okay, nothing out of this world and the service was not friendly and slow. Price wise it' okay but you will find the same or better coffee with a much better service in many other Caffes in Trieste. Worth checking it out if you are in the area just to see the interior, may be get a Nero and that's it.

The atmosphere is amazing, the interior design is very unique and beautiful. There is a boon store at the same place. We liked it, but the service was veeeery slooooow, we waited for 20 min to get a menu. Unfortunately there were not many vegetarian options for breakfast in the menu. We tried sandwich and beige and they were not tasty. I would recommend them to improve the menu and to add more breakfast options (especially with no meat/fish).

Hi all, very cute place. Well decorated and the ladies were super kind :) thanks a lot! I took torta with chocolate and mirtillo. For me it was a bit too sweet but my friend take cupcake with white chocalate&lamponi. For me the only issue was the tempature inside because there was no Air Condition. In overall nice to try, not usual concept in Trieste.

A very cute small caffe. We had a matcha latte with oat milk, it was very tasty and it has a foam! We didn’t have any food, but we saw they have cupcskes, cookies, cakes, etc, which all look good and also have options for vegans and gluten free. Only wish they had almond milk.. Normally I never write bad reviews but today’s encounter at this place had me at lost for words…I know I shouldn’t have brought in a cannolo from another shop, but I still ordered and paid for my coffee without issue. Instead of addressing it calmly, the owner/worker there(not sure?)chose to gossip about me in Italian and later confronted me with passive-aggressive and verbally hostile remarks. It felt unprofessional and unnecessary, especially from someone representing the business. Perhaps focusing more on improving attitude would be better for customers and I hope she remembers me every time she sees a cannolo.”

4 stars The food was beautiful – almost perfect, in fact. Easily the best brunch we had all week. The place was very busy, which speaks for itself, but for some reason the staff insisted on trying to squeeze a party of three onto a table clearly meant for two. That aside, if I were in the area again, I’d definitely go back.

Cute and popular place, and they were very responsive on social media when I asked about vegan options. There were lots! Massive list of drinks, and food options like toast, plain/filled croissants, vegan brunch, pancakes and a power bowl. We came before noon so shared a vegan brunch: the toast was amazing, and there was also a savory and a sweet pancake and they were decent (not blown away by them but they were definitely not bad either, made from rice and chestnut flour). Really lovely and bubbly atmosphere and we had to sit inside because outside was packed.

We went there for breakfast and had eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce tasted and looked spoiled, it did not the silky texture. Drinks and coffee were good, as expected. I would recommend it for a nice coffee pit stop.

The first order I placed came in wrong. I ordered a strawberry iced matcha with oat milk and the drink they served was brown with a bit of red mushed up strawberry in the bottom. When I mixed it it completely turned brown and the oat milk separated itself from the ice and it look completely disgusting. When I asked the staff about my drink they just said that the it wasn’t their fault that I drink turned out that way. The photo underneath this review is my strawberry ice matcha.

The Ambiente is good. Opicina is beautiful so it adds to the scenery. The service was alright. The staff seemed a little stressed. The breakfast was not really tasty. The salmon in the English breakfast was smelly and didn’t seem fresh. The sausages to the American breakfast looked like they came straight from a lab and the pancakes were overall reaaaally sweet… Overall not a bad experience but in Trieste you can get a much better breakfast for the same price!

Super Caffe, very good breakfast, very busy on a sunday morning but also very quick. They bring you your coffee in under 3 mins. Will come again for sure. Our waiter was kind of stressed an seemed to overstrained but his colleagues helped him and so it was very fine. My recommendation is the croissant with prosciutto.

We concluded a month in Italy, eating gelato everyday, in Trieste. We did not expect to find the most unique gelato of the trip in Opicina! The Coppe Gelato creations are a must for any serious gelato connesiur to try. Well worth a visit at the end of the walk from Prosecco.

During our stay in Trieste in the last week of June, I spent two pleasant hours on one of the white loungers with a fantastic view of the coast and the sea while my friends toured Miramare Castle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Afterwards, we all enjoyed a delicious glass of Prosecco with some tasty snacks on the terrace. And were happy.

A nice beach bar with a big terrace with a beautiful view of the ocean. You can order drinks and food for takeout or dining in. The waiters could speak English and communicate with us, but we had to call them to our table to get their attention. Also the food are just snacks and small bites instead of meals. All of the pieces on the menu are fairly priced and we also received a complementary bowl of chips.

Great location, but for the cold days, there's almost not place to sit or to hang out inside. Also, not the nicest waiter. Perfect for summer ♥️

You could come here every day for a whole month and try a different, delicious, crunchy, and creamy croissant each time — and most of the flavors are unique and unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. It’s truly a delicacy! There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, so you can sit comfortably and soak up the sunlight while savoring your wonderful breakfast in total peace. I treated myself to two: one cappuccino-flavored croissant, and a New York roll filled with a rich red berries cream. Both were absolutely divine. The staff? Super friendly, polite, helpful, and quick — which just makes the whole experience even better. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than your average bakery, but it’s absolutely worth it. They also offer Gubana and traditional sweet breads that are incredibly flavorful — all my friends who tried them loved every bite and immediately asked me where I got them. Mind bending transcendal experience

At first, we were a bit unsure about the location, but it turned out to be perfect—conveniently situated between all the small towns we wanted to explore. We stayed for two nights and would’ve gladly stayed a third if there had been availability. The rooms were spacious, spotless, quiet, and felt brand new—modern and very comfortable. The beds were fantastic; we slept incredibly well! Service was excellent. The staff were not only polite and kind but also warm and fun to interact with. The on-site restaurant was a highlight—both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Our only small note is that the wine servings at dinner were a bit on the light side. The spa was also a wonderful bonus, and the discounts offered for both dinner and spa services were much appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay!

Very beautiful hotel, rooms were incredible and probably one of the best I’ve stayed in. Had a nice balcony though in the 35 degree heat, it stayed closed! Breakfast options could’ve been way better. Not many varieties so ended up skipping it most days. The location isn’t great I’ll be honest. If you’re holidaying in Codroipo then it’s perfect as it’s a 10 minute walk but there’s not much to do in the area. It’s also an hour or so by public transport to Udine and to get to the nearest station is around a 20 minute walk. The garden/patio is really nice but did get bit a lot by mosquitoes!

It is a hotel worth visiting. Very modern and well maintained facilities. The rooms are nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. Espresso coffee machine and water is complimentary. Bathroom is very clean and new with a modern look. The breakfast is providing a good way to start the day in an italian way.

It looks nice and tidy from the outside, but it's not. the rooms are modest, breakfast as well, fitness, spa, hardly satisfactory. disappointment with electric charging. when we signed up, we were told that it was free and that there was no problem with charging. But in the evening, nothing worked and, as they know, it is often annoying. they are not working to solve this problem, because apparently many guests have already mentioned it. so don't count on charging the car, unfortunately.
