I walked in at around 9 pm. The cover fee is 1200 yen. It was a vocal and pianist due that night. I ordered a drink and something to bite. After couple of songs they took a break and joined their friends and started to drink and chat. After waiting for 30 minutes, they were still not resuming playing. I give up and payed the bill. The music scores 6.2 of 10.

Fantastic jazz club in Naha. Order a wide range of drinks and food off ipads which is great so not to have to get up or disrupt the band. Great jazz band playing the night we went, and friendly staff too. Good intimate atmosphere. Check out the website for schedule of performers and the cover charge (think entry fee) which can be 2000-4000 yen per person (depends on the performance). Also check the website for opening and performance times!!

Lovely little bar on the second floor of an appointment building (a bit hard to find). Quirky interior, a decent selection of local and foreign craft beers (pricey compared to Orion, but not crazy expensive) and some Japanese and Western snacks. Smoked quail eggs are well worth trying 👌

Small taproom with fun people and a decent selection of beers. Make sure to take the stairs up to the 2nd floor since the ground floor is a sake bar. Had their collaboration Double IPA which was boozy, hoppy and reminded me of WC IPAs back home.

They have a really good selection of beer. But I got a really nasty look from the man behind the counter when I entered. The lady working was nice enough, but i instantly felt unwanted in the establishment.

Relaxed vibe. Great Hazy IPA. I got the Bale Breaker Brewing and it surprisingly has great floral and fruity flavor. I would start with this if you are not sure.

Great selection of craft beer in an hidden gem with very kind staff

I went on my last night in Okinawa and it was a pretty quiet night but it was a cozy place. Miyagi, the owner, welcomed me and I had a wonderful time trying out the various local craft beers as well as interesting beers from America that I hadn't even tried before. I especially enjoyed trying the "Barley Wine" from a nearby island brewery. I'll definitely drop by again the next time I'm in Okinawa.

Has a lot of local beers for both drafts and cans. Hard to find this bar since it's on the second floor. Warm atmosphere, most of the guests are locals. If you want to jump in to the Okinawa local community, this would be the one. I love it.

The best bar in Kumoji (Naha) with great music and an enormous selection of drinks. Affordable, no cover charge, and free billiards table. Friendly staff and lots of room at the bar or at one of the tables. Great atmosphere!

Nice bar to hangout with friends, has a pool table and dart board. Didn't try the darts but the pool table seems a bit off-balance. Squeaky bar stools should be fixed/replaced though.

Waiter tried to rip me off. It was so obvious that it was no mistake but intentional. The vibes were very creepy. The waiter trash talked all other bars around him so we would stay there longer.

I can’t comment on the food. Only beer. The Okinawa craft beer recommended by the staff there were superb. And of course the Guinness. The staffs are friendly and the vibe is good. I was the only customer when I paid the visit. Very nice hospitality.

Nice little hideaway right around the corner at the beginning of Kokusai Street. They used to carry Bass and a few other Irish beers, but now the only Irish beer they carry is Guinness. The food was good, the guy working there was extremely hospitable and the atmosphere was cozy. The Beef and Guinness stew was really good

Great place that is hidden in central Naha. We had an early dinner with a couple of beers. Draft beer selection is not huge, but local craft in bottles is well represented. The food was great and the service is cheerful. It was fantastic to chat in English to a staff member too!

Great Irish style pub in downtown naha. The location is right near kukosidori and makes for a nice side bar away from the heavy foot traffic. There's plenty of places to sit, they make great drinks and there's "pub style" music playing in the background. Definitely recommend for anybody looking for a nice bar that isn't an izakiya or yakiniku and has Guinness/goose bay beer. The only negative thing I have to say is the cheese plate is underwhelming, but you can ask for more crackers to match the little mount of cheese you get.

Fantastic Guinness best I’ve had outside of Ireland. The staff are brilliant, caring and attentive. Highly recommend this pub, it’s a must visit!

It’s a tourist trap. A walk in the area and you will not find locals doing their marketing. There are 2 floors with small restaurants above selling seafood or mostly cooking the seafood for you when u bought it downstairs. Because it’s a tourist place, they have English and Chinese speaking staff at the eateries. It’s basically a seafood and premium beef market with some dry goods/ side dish stalls. Mostly priced higher than their local supermarkets. Each stall had some arrangements with the eateries upstairs. The seafood is mostly overpriced but very fresh. Depending on where you come from, it may be deemed cheap for you due to the exchange rate. Unlike some tourists around me having big prawns, lobsters and crabs, we opted for a simple and very satisfying meal.

May 2025. Mainly seafood market with restaurants on the upper area where you can have your seafood cooked the way your heart desires. This is obviously a touristic place but we enjoyed it. This is actually not a very big market as we thought but there was a lot of choices of fresh fishes and sea creatures, as well as some others Okinawa specialities.

It was amazing to try the special seafood in Okinawa! We tried coconut crab (椰子蟹), Tridacna (陣渠), great green turban shell (夜光貝), and parrotfish (鸚哥魚). The one of fish workers is from china, he can introduce the fresh seafood and suggest cooking methods to you in mandarin. He will also take you to a restaurant to enjoy the fresh seafood after you make your purchase. You can choose the cooking method, such as half sashimi and half fried/deep-fried! All the seafood was my first time to try!! I didn't expect the coconut crab to have so much crab fat and the green turban shell was very sweet.

Nice place for local vibe. But prices are tourist standards. Almost same as tokyo's tsukuji market area. But worth to visit once if happen to be in the area,as the seafood is really fresh.

Our lunch experience at Makishi Public Market was one to remember. We kicked things off on the first floor, picking out fresh seafood right from the local stalls — everything from vibrant cuts of sashimi-grade fish to a whole sea bream that caught our eye. The vendors were warm and welcoming, making the selection process easy and enjoyable. We brought our ingredients up to the second level where the real magic happened. The chefs there turned our picks into a delicious spread. The fresh sashimi was clean, sweet, and beautifully plated — every slice a bite of the ocean. We also had stir-fried bitter gourd with spam, a local Okinawan favourite. The bitterness was mellow and balanced well by the savoury spam. A comforting dish, especially with rice. Another standout was the prawns with eggs — silky and rich, yet not overly heavy. But the showstopper was definitely the sea bream. Cooked Chinese-style — deep-fried to a crispy golden crust and then finished with soy sauce — it was both flavourful and aromatic. Eating upstairs with our custom meal, we really felt immersed in Okinawan food culture. Fresh, interactive, and full of flavour — this was not just a meal, but an experience.

This place was truly amazing! We arrived hopeful and excited about eating here, and we were rewarded with spectacular food, friendly staff who spoke multiple languages, the cleanest fish market I’ve ever been in and so much more. We ordered a lot, since we were really hungry. We had lobster, fish, abalone, sea urchin and oyster sashimi. It was so good, we ate the whole thing and still wanted more. It was bursting with flavour, and the texture varied, sometimes crunchy and sometimes smooth. We ordered cooked fish and lobster porridge too, and it was really, really, really fresh and sweet. We ordered juice and beer, and both were splendid too! If looking for an authentic and cultural experience, I would definitely recommend.

It is not a big market but sufficient for a city. The variety and selection are not very wide, but they have the usual. One can buy the raw ingredients and seafood from the ground floor, and then the seller will send up to the kitchen that you have selected to prepare the food for you.

I’m so sorry but this was an unpleasant visit. Sashimi was below average. Freshness is gone. General option of fried food was also bad. 🙏🍻 only the bottled Orion was great!

In A Nutshell: -Churasan Tei was a pretty good izakaya restaurant. -I definitely chilled & stayed for a bit enjoying their fresh sashimi, Orion beer & awamori. -I was hoping to try out their coconut crab but they were out. -I highly recommend the Green Caviar Bowl highlighted with sea grapes & Okinawan uni. -The Okinawan tuna was also very fresh & tasty. -I wasnt too fond of the Giant Clam, but the sliced Squid Tentacles were yummy. Overall, I enjoyed the quality of the food here.

Apparently it's a popular restaurant among locals and tourists. If you want local Okinawa cuisines and ingredients, this is the place to be. I think I ordered most dishes with the names that I've never heard and with the ingredients that I've never tried. It was a fun experience! One of the dishes I tried is coconut crab miso soup. It was rare even in Okinawa and they don't usually sell it outside of the island. The taste was nothing special but definitely impactful for the photos😆 I wouldn't recommend to go alone because the portion is relatively generous and not too cheap. It's better to go with more people in order to sample different unique dishes.

Very delicious and fresh seafood. Unfortunately this restaurant allows their customers to smoke. It was very bad this time. Sandwiched between 2 smoking tables. Unpleasant second hand cigarettes smell. Revisited again. This time no customers were smoking. Tasty food enjoyed. 😛

Some of the best seafood I have ever had. Super fresh and delicious. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Slightly annoying that tax is added after and not included on the listed price. Definetly recommend if your keen on trying local Okinawan seafood.

This is a tasty seafood restaurant not far from Naha airport. Maybe 15min if you take the monorail then walk. The food was good and decently priced. Though it was a bit more than we were thinking of spending, we left happy. Heads up, there is a 300 yen cover charge per person, just for the table, and the food is on top of that. We had garlic buttered shellfish that was grilled. The presentation, smell, and taste were great! We also had tempura fish, which was fresh, hot, and delicious. That was my favorite! Lastly, we had the crab miso soup. The presentation was great, but the flavor of the crab meat had been boiled out into the soup, so if you are looking for really good crab, go ahead and get a whole one. (They are a bit pricey though!) There is free dessert if you ask your server. That evening, dessert was some fresh pineapple, and it was very good.

Great casual bar. Bar has martial arts and staff are all practicing martial artists. Staff are friendly, speak English, Japanese and some even speak a third. Food is good and the drinks are good and a fair price. For me it was a welcome break.

A must for all visiting martial artists. A fun place for everyone else too. Very chilled out, easy going and with a friendly owner.

For the karate tourist, this is a good place to start with. James is very friendly and readily answered some questions I had. One of the bartenders is Yuri, who's local, and she has a wealth of suggestions on places you can visit when in town. Even if you're not a karate tourist like me, its a cool place to hang out. I've come in a few times for the past couple of weeks, just to type up my blogs. Good atmosphere, good music, good pizza. Oh, and the fried squid legs are a personal favourite.

The Dojo Bar (or as our group referred to it, Headquarters) is THE hub for Karate enthusiasts to meet like-minded people from Okinawa, as well as around the world. Also was hands-down the best bar we visited in Naha. The staff are top-notch, upbeat and outgoing. Wide selection of drink options. Try the snake sake! Food is amazing (highly recommend their pizza). James was a great host and local guide. We look forward to visiting there again in the near future!

The most welcoming, friendly bar I've been to in Okinawa during my 2nd two week visit. The incredibly kind staff were EXTREMELY helpful with directions around Naha and information about Okinawan life! If I lived on the island I would visit DOJO bar daily. Highly recommend this for anyone speaking English looking for a comfortable evening to relax.

Great bar! The place to be as a martial artist in Naha. The bar is normally filled with karateka from all over the world. Nice easy going atmosphere. The owner, James, has his dojo across the street. Nice awamori and great pizza! Very cool staff!

Visited for their Monday Japanese lunch buffet while staying as a guest at the hotel. From what I've heard this is one of the most popular buffets in Okinawa and it certainly seemed that way! There was an extensive menu available and although the focus on Mondays is Japanese food there was still plenty of international variety as well. The dessert selection was also really good and included the famous local Okinawan Blue Seal ice cream. At ¥3,300 it was very good value and I would definitely recommend.

We had read the reviews and wanted to try this buffet, but the first time we went we were unable to get in because we did not have a reservation. We rebooked for the next week and made a reservation. So... Pro tip: book a reservation to be safe, you cannot do same day, you have to do it the day before. The price I feel was fantastic for what you receive. It served mostly tapas style for the buffet with some family style. I tried almost all of the food, but it was difficult because there were so many options. I did miss out on a few items because of that. Every day of the week has a different meal type, Japanese is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is meat day, Thursday. Friday is seafood, and I'm not sure what the weekend is. So for example, if you aren't into seafood make sure you don't go for that day. The buffet was a mix of Japanese and Western food items. The servers were very quick to clear your plates so that you had a clean table. They didn't really speak with us, but we also didn't speak Japanese. There are some drinks you can order like alcohol, but it comes with coffee, tea, hot water, iced tea, iced coffee, a few juices, an espresso machine that does a number of drinks, as well as there were three smoothie options. You pay up at the front at the end of the meal. There was a tip on the bill, place that you could write it in, but when we went to pay we did not end up tipping because the person who took our payment just charged us the amount with no tip option. I would happily go back. The whole package is great, price, quality, etc. Pro tip 2: When we found out we got 3 hours for parking, we ate for about 1 and 1/2 and then spent the other hour and a half walking around. So you can kind of plan your day that way. We did end up parking somewhere else the last time we had come and it isn't necessarily that expensive, but you might as well take advantage of this since you can.

Excellent buffet lunch only 3000Yen per person. Great selection of high-quality food, loafs of seafood, meats, cheeses, and a very good selection of desserts. I was expecting Japanese but is more like a Western buffet, but with am Asian / Japanese twist. I highly recommend the buffett

5 stars experience!!! Great quality dishes and fantastic ambiance with attentive service as well. Only slight downside is too much deep fried food for selections, but overall excellent nonetheless. Advanced reservation is required, at ¥3000 per person for lunch it's honestly a super deal. Will definitely come back, even if it's a little more expensive!

Yum breakfast from Hyatt Regency for its hotel guests. High qualitied foods with artwork displayed throughout the dining area. Menu are mixed Japanese and Western styled. The espresso coffee machine is heavily overworked as always a line of few waiting for their turn. Avoid peak hour around 8am as there might be a long line.

Good selection of both Western and Japanese cuisines for breakfast, with a decent variety of hot and cold dishes. Whilst none of the dishes are cooked to order like other hotel breakfast buffets, everything tastes fresh with plenty of people to cycle through the dishes. On offer for breakfast is a western station (bacon, eggs, potatoes), Japanese station (curry rice, yaki soba, grilled fish), cold station (cured meats, smoked salmon, cheese), Carbs (pastries, toast, cereals) and salad bar. Well worth the price of admission for breakfast at ¥2000 plus tax per person.

First time at Okinawa. First meal for dinner we choose something light and not far from our place. Here we ate shabu. The place is very nice. The staff is very good service. The food we select it’s the set for shabu pork. They come with vegetable and 1 set of pork but if you want more vegetable and pork you can order more and not pay extra” concept all you can eat menu” The pork meat are very very good, the soup it’s tasty and not salty. the sauce for shabu are simple and very taste smell yuzu and ginger and we order extra Stir-fried tofu and Stir-fried Japanese bitter melon with eggs and tofu both menus it’s very good. This restaurant recommend to try in Okinawa. Simply but very good. The staff provide very good service, very kind and professional. They have menu in english and pictures in the menu also if you don’t have the idea. They have complimentary small bite desert.

Delicious Buffet Shabu Shabu with Excellent Service Had a great experience at this shabu shabu hotpot restaurant. We have chosen the Yanbaru Agu-pork buffet. The variety of different cuts and quality of ingredients were impressive, and everything was fresh and well-stocked. The staff were very attentive, and service was quick and efficient throughout our meal. It does get busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. A fantastic place for hotpot lovers—definitely worth a visit

Very delicious Agu-pork. The service was great, staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a complication with our reservation which was apparently not their fault but they solved it very nicely and accepted us 🙏🏻 Okinawa Soba was freshly homemade and was the best we had in Okinawa. I highly recommend to end a shabu-shabu with an Okinawa Soba. If you ordered an all you can eat menu, spare some space for the soba

Was so surprised at the environment (floor seating) and the service. The staff were very helpful, attentive and brought everything we needed to be comfortable, even though we don’t speak Japanese. Was very relaxing even though I have a 3 year old. They helped us to cook the main ingredients. The food was so delicious. Must have been the most delicious pork I’ve ever eaten in my life. The seafood was tender and tasty. I would definitely go many times. The staff helped us to cook the porridge after we finished the pork and it was delicious too! They were attentive to my kid’s egg allergy. It’s on the second floor but many parents bring their babies and toddlers.

This place serves Okinawan-style Agu Pork Shabu-Shabu. The vegetables are fresh and tasty, and the service is wonderful, with staff who are friendly and courteous. A definite recommendation!

My wife and kids stumbled on this spot while visiting Asato Dojo. We had lunch and my 8 year old son finishes his soup, rice, my daughters rice, and wanted more. The kids loved the food.

My review is biased as an European. The club itself is nice, the service was also nice but the atmosphere was terrible. Full of Americans with terrible vibes, I’ve been traveling Asia for a while and this was by far the worst vibe I felt so far. If you’re an American you’ll probably like it, otherwise keep away.

Music is too old (like 80s and mid 90s) and they won’t take any requests. Very little seating except in VIP and they wanted $450 for 2 people even though the entire section was empty. It was also full of guys, maybe 5-10 girls aside from the wait staff… I wouldn’t go back.

It’s always pretty crowded and takes a while to get drinks even when you’re at the bars. But the drinks aren’t extremely expensive. The most expensive part is the cover charge to be honest. I love being in a culturally diverse place so it’s a little disheartening that so few locals come now besides the ones that want to pretend to be American culture vultures. It used to be really nice 4 years ago. The environment has changed so much and this place is in the shadow of its former glory.

The compulsory appetizer was not good. Room-temperature beef stew?? However, the fresh, made-to-order dishes were wonderful. The Goya chanpuru, motobu charcoal grilled steak, sea grapes, Okinawa soba, and thick-cut pork belly were excellent. The shikwasa sherbet was fantastic. The half&half draft and ume-shu were great. Additionally, service was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really neat! We are (2 people) for about $80. They take cash (yen) and card.

Everything is chewy and the sauce tastes terrible. Very costy!! Horrible experience. This place is my WORST memory about OKINAWA.

Price was affordable, food was good. However if they serve you ‘appetisers’ which you didnt order, please kindly reject it as each small bowl will cost you 500yen as what previous review has mentioned. Besides the ‘appetiser’ rest of the menu is very affordable.

We recently visited El Lequio and had an amazing experience. The bar beautifully fuses local Ryukyu culture with Latin American influences, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. Our server was very energetic and helpful. She presented the cocktail menu to us with a detailed explanation, answered our questions, and gave us suggestions on what drinks to order based on our preferences. We ordered three cocktails: Tropical Pornstar, Kokuto de Tiramisu, and Kijimuna's Perfumes (all Ryukyu-inspired). We wanted to order some snacks too but we were too full after the dinner, we only ordered The SG Club's Truffle Popcorn, which paired well with the cocktails. The bar isn't easily spotted as it's not on the main street, so you might miss it. Remark: Even if you're not a fan of alcoholic drinks, they do have non-alcoholic options!

El Lequio is part of SG Group and is their only venue in Okinawa. Visited for some after dinner drinks and really enjoyed it. I arrived at around 8:15pm and it was still reasonably quiet but it quickly filled up. The drinks list is innovative with Latin as well as local Ryukyu inspiration and features lots of local ingredients, non-alcoholic optikns are available as well. I had the Acerola Paloma, Tommy's Okinawa Soba, Tropical Pornstar and to finish, the Kokuto de Tiramisu. Every cocktail was incredible in its own right but you absolutely must order the Kokuto de Tiramisu for your last drink, it is incredible! There is a decent menu of bar snacks as well ranging from tacos to Soba. I tried the soki soba and really liked it. The crew behind the bar were a delight, chatting with guests and providing entertainment with their cocktail making skills. Special mention to Shion who was looking after my section of the bar on the night. Such a fun experience. Be sure to visit when you're in Naha!

I enjoyed this drink bar more than I expected. The bar tender was very knowledgeable and nice, and also spoke great English. Drinks were tasty, complex not too sweet with a blend between local culture and Latino drinking culture. The real Myagi was super nice, too easy to drink. We wish we had tried also their food.

This is a great place to have a good time drinking and dancing. There isn't really much of a club scene in Okinawa but if that's what you're looking for this is the spot to be. It's a small place but it's got a great vibe. Music is mostly top 40 on the billboard charts so not truly "reggae" but it's still tonnes of fun. Even on weekdays expect to see people having fun. It's mostly packed on Fridays and Saturdays, other days of the week are less crowded (for obvious reasons). I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a night of fun.

It is basically a one man show where the chef takes your order and then cooks you one of the best meals I have ever had.Every dish is a work of art and delight to the senses. It is easy to miss because it is a little bit off of the main street but you’ll regret not stopping here for an incredible dinner. I highly recommend the guinea fowl lamb and quail.

The bitter gourd with eggs and tofu was really satisfying as well. Their yakisoba was peppery, savoury, and came with flavourful slices of pork and a raw egg yolk. Serious carbonara vibes there. Salad was really fresh with generous portion size.

This is my favorite izakaya in Okinawa! Note there's no English menu but google translate works just fine for us. The drinks are cheap and delicious- the mega highball is huge btw. Food is yummy as well. It's small/cozy but not too small where you have to wait to get in. There is a bar but if you sit at a table expect to remove shoes. The best part is the service- they are so nice!! Don't worry even if you don't speak Japanese well. They are so kind, I accidentally left my watch in the bathroom and when I returned 2 weeks later, they recognized me and returned my watch to me! Great relaxed vibe and friendly service 😊
