A lovely restaurant and pub! I attended dinner with some family, and everything was delicious! The fish and chips were lovely and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and quick. The drinks are splendid as well! I ended up having 2 cocktails! Pup friendly pub!

We visited Encore on a Sunday without a booking and decided to take a chance. The team was very accommodating and managed to find us a table for five, kindly letting us know they’d need it back at a certain time — which was absolutely fine with us. We were seated upstairs, and our server came over shortly after to take our order. The food arrived in about 15 minutes and was delicious! I had the roast chicken, which was full of flavour, and everyone else enjoyed their meals too. They even brought extra gravy and vegetables on the side — a nice touch, though I found the shredded veg a bit bitter for my liking. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout, and we actually finished with time to spare. Overall, great food, good service, and a pleasant Sunday experience — we’ll definitely be back!

We stopped in for lunch during a recent visit to Stratford and were quickly shown to a table in the restaurant. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, especially the cod and chips. Highly recommended!

I can't say enough good things. The food was amazing, each dish was full of flavours. The goats cheese starter was especially delicious. The prawns were so good too! We had the dirty burger and the pork and scallops. All absolutely delicious, the deserts were great too. Honestly very impressed. The staff were amazing too, really friendly, polite and they couldn't have been more accommodating. We will absolutely return next year when we come back to Stratford-upon-Avon.

We had such a fantastic time at The Encore! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food and drinks were spot on, and everything came out quickly and beautifully presented. A special shoutout to Freya, who looked after us so well – friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. She really made the experience extra special. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

We were booked to see a show which started at 7.15pm and due to traffic, did not make it into Stratford until just before 6.30pm. We love this pub and have been before so chanced seeing if we could possibly eat before the show. The team were nothing short of amazing - they told us what was best to order and put it straight through. Our food arrived piping hot less than 15 mins later and we had plenty of time to eat considering the tight deadline we had. I'm only sorry I didn't catch names but the lad that greeted us with the blonde curly hair and the brunette lady who served me at the bar and spoke to the kitchen were both brilliant - so friendly and helpful. Thank you for another wonderful visit - it was brief this time but we shall make sure to stay a little longer next time.

Encore in Stratford-upon-Avon is a fantastic place to stop for a drink after a walk around the town. The location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of Stratford, making it very convenient to take a break and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s a great spot to relax with a pint and watch the world go by. The pub has a welcoming vibe, comfortable seating and a good choice of drinks. Perfect for winding down after exploring all the sights of Stratford. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a central place to rest, enjoy a beer and soak in the charm of the town.

July 2025 Location is nice - huge space out back ! Food was great ! The Korean chicken sandwich and fish the chips were brilliant The kids chicken Nuggets also hit the mark ! The Abbot Ale was class We didn’t get a chance to try the desserts cause someone cut our line and took their own sweet time to order their drinks - the clock went post 930 pm and we missed out :( Our pub man even took our order and had to refund cause we were a tad past 930 :( Oh well next time !

A delightful English pub with great food and very good service. We had the fish and chips and the salt and pepper squid with a side serve of triple cooked chunky chips. Washed down with a Prosecco and a Guinness all for £42 Highly recommended .

The kind of dish that makes you question why sausages ever settled for pork in the first place. Venison Ragu — slow-cooked, earthy and warming, topped with rocket and parmesan, served with a side of “I’m never ordering spaghetti again” satisfaction. 🎭 The Atmosphere Cosy wood-panelled walls, warm lighting, and that unmistakable old English pub charm — the kind of place where you half expect Shakespeare himself to pop out and ask how your meal is.

This pub was recommended as a place to go when visiting Stratford as its location is central. I was really impressed, food was spot on, location spot on, the biggest loo I’ve ever used. But my only gripe was the young lady on the till who took my order. I know to her it’s just a job, but to customers it’s an absolute experience. She was miserable. Utterly miserable, yet other people working there were really lovely, pleasant, and happy. I didn’t experience a single other miserable person on our whole stay to Stratford, but it is something that would make me decide to eat elsewhere on our return. And that’s ashame

£16.50 salad. (Chicken pushed to the side just to show what you get). Fairly tasty but not nearly worth the money, like a half portion kebab shop dinner. Staff and service was excellent though. But management clearly under staffing the place which was outting a lot of pressure on staff, shame on the management for that! Edit to my original review because I cant respond to the "owner". Though if they were so short staffed I wonder why the "owner" has time to reply to reviews. My review was focused on the abysmal salad, I should have just ordered a starter portion at less than half the price because they cant possibly send out food in a smaller portion than what I got even if it was a starter. Instead the response has focused on staffing, which was a side point to my review.

We chose the pie. The pie was good, the chips were good but the Hispi cabbage was probably the most inedible thing that I have ever been served. We were stupid, we should have sent it back. Instead we asked for sharper knives and attempted to cut it. I hacked most of mine, my wife gave up. What a shame. Edit: I’m pretty disgusted with your response. Let’s be clear we like Hispi cabbage but what you served us was inedible. It wasn’t a question of preference and no we won’t eat at the Dirty Duck again

We had a Sunday roast at The Dirty Duck and it was absolutely lovely. The food was delicious, generous, and really well cooked. The service was great – friendly and attentive without being overbearing – which made the whole experience really relaxed. It was such a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

It was friends who chose and booked this as it was dog friendly and we had a great table to fit the 8 of us (plus dog) As it was a Sunday, I went for the veggie wellington and because I love gravy, I cheekily asked for some extra and was delighted to be brought a large jug! I honestly didn't finish it all. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals and was really impressed when the waitress came back with extra Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, and would have brought more if needed. Really enjoyable meal, friendly staff and great setting. One to return to. Good veggie and childrens options.

A fantastic gastro pub with a charming rustic touch. The service and hospitality were top-notch—friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout. The menu is enticing, offering a great range of starters, sharers, mains, and drinks to suit all tastes. They also have a Specials board that’s worth checking out—featuring some truly unique and exotic combinations you don’t see every day. It’s clear they put real thought into their dishes, and the attention to detail shows, especially with the proper British grub on offer. The interiors are warm and inviting, perfect for both families and smaller groups, with plenty of seating options available. Had a lovely meal out at The One Elm this evening (15/08) celebrating our final date before we get married! The staff were wonderful, the food was so tasty and we even got a treat for our celebration! I had the Hake and potato curry, and my partner had the bbq duck leg and they were divine! Highly recommend dining here for any occasion

Found this on a whim as we were visiting the town for the weekend. We made our booking later (4pm) so weren't sure what to expect in terms of whether they'd have any Sunday roasts left. We were not disappointed - we all said it was one of the best pub roasts we'd ever had! Staff were funny and friendly, we got seconds of yorkshire puddings. The table fell into stunned silence whilst we were eating it was that good - unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the roast but have attached our pudding - apple crumble (which was served with a large jug of custard). Would thoroughly recommend and will be back if we are ever visiting again!

Friendly staff, good selection of wine, it's a clean and pleasant pub. No rating on the food as I haven't sampled any. Warm fireplace in the winter. More of a local pub than a tourist pub but I'd highly recommend it to tourists. Reasonable prices.

Good pub just on the corner round past the main hustle and bustle. Beer garden where you can relax and enjoy a few pints/lunch. Decent menu. Reasonable prices for a tourist place. Went with some friends who were visiting from Japan.

Food was okay problem is that staff were very overworked. One bar for the entire place and the queues were long. We were at the bar for 20 minutes before being seen and that was after I asked the manager to help and get us ordered. If you come here GET EVERYTHING IN ONE ORDER Darts were good but recomend during the day (before 5) as after work hours gets buusssyyy

We visited Cox's Yard last night, it wasn't busy at the time we arrived & there was only 1 customer at the bar before me, it took nearly 10 minutes to get served, the guy on the bar seemed overly interested in his phone. Anyway, the pub is delightfully furnished, it has lovely oak beams and a well appointed bar, the toilets were clean and modern. There is good access to all abilities including disabled and the pub is close to the canal, river & town centre. The bar offered a great range of popular products, there was plenty to choose from. We ordered food which once I had been served, did arrive quickly and was very tasty too. I think the only reason I scored 4 stars was due to the sloppy service which is a shame.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I feel tourists, especially Americans who love our beautiful historic town should hear this. We visited The Bear, Swans Nest in Stratford-upon-Avon for Sunday lunch at 1:30 pm, expecting a proper, fresh, traditional roast. The bar staff asked if we wanted the beef pink or well done, I asked for pink, thinking great, this should be special. The beef arrived overdone and tough as old boots, it was a good job carving knives were already on the plates! The roast potatoes looked and tasted like yesterday’s, and most of the vegetables were soggy or anaemic. Such a shame for visitors hoping for a tradional English Sunday roast, if this is their first, they'll never want another. The waiter just muttered “sorry” and avoided eye contact as we left.

So when we arrived we sat down and the first thing I noticed was the state of the chairs ,they were literally falling apart chunks of leather missing from the arms so you could see the foam padding inside and the leather that was still attached was all cracked they needed replacing. My 5 year old then accidentally knocked over his drink so I’ve grabbed the napkins we had been given for our food and some baby wipes from my bag and mopped up the juice off the table (no bar staff in sight) and the dirt that came off it was absolutely disgusting they were black I was shocked it’s like they had never been cleaned I then wiped the edge of the high chair my 1 year old was sat in as some of it had dripped off the table onto the front of his high chair and the floor and food came off onto the wipe , at this point we hadn’t got our food yet so they hadn’t cleaned that either I took him out and cleaned it myself before putting him back in , I then had to go find a staff member to ask if they could mop the floor for me as there was still no one around, he came and did this but ignored the pile of soggy wipes and tissues on the table and went and stood back behind the bar , I had to walk over and ask if he had a bin I could put them in. The food was ok the house burgers were nice (these were on 2 for £20 as it was Wednesday ) but the chips were over fried to the point they were hard , children’s pizza was large my son gave his baby brother a piece and his dad one to try and still had more than enough to eat but I had to flag someone down for my sons ice cream and it took them 15 minutes to bring it over (I wouldn’t mind if it was busy but it really wasn’t) and it was literally one small scoop in a bowl , very disappointing tbh one of the bar staff seemed happy to help the other looked like he either didn’t have a clue or just didn’t want to be there now I’m not expecting him to be ecstatic about his job but when you work in the customer service industry you need to be abit more attentive I shouldn’t feel like I’m a inconvenience having to ask you for things every 5 minutes , unfortunately we won’t be coming back

The 2 stars isn't about the food, which was at best adequate but how shabby some of the fittings are. I've been places with tatty curtains etc, and it's obvious an uplift is overdue, but some of the seats in The Beat are appallingly bad. The one I sat in had a tear down most of the arm with all the foam exposed underneath and coming through and it's clear it's been that way for a while. I have a photo, I don't tend to post them so I won't here, but it's really neglectful and quite disrespectful to costumers that something so easily addressed has just been left. Not sure what anyone evaluating cleanliness would think.

I promised myself to do only positive reviews into 2025 but this experience has to be shared. Booked a table for 2 for New Years Eve for the first time in years. Wish I hadn't bothered. Ordered bread to start with including butter and olive oil mix. Brown bread was rock hard. Main course arrived and I had to move the starter plates to one side.... Main courses ordered - Gnocci in a cheese sauce (tasteless), Pork Belly with a redcurrant jus and apple sauce. Utterly tasteless and for appx £24 you would expect some vegetables. No, that was an additional £4.75appx. Left most of it but was still asked if you enjoyed that, I was lost for words. We decided not to bother with desserts or coffee. And all this for a pre-paid £10 deposit each. All in all £60 wasted. I won't be returning. I cannot fault the service but value wise this restaurant is outrageous selling poor food at exorbitant prices. Thanks for a poor New Years Eve experience.

Having been here previously just after lockdown. Visited today and had a wonderful time. Food was exceptional as per usual, staff were great and added to the meal. Can't wait to come again.

We came here from the US and Korea to visit Shakespeare Village. We were worried about parking, but this restaurant's female server helped us with parking. After finishing the village tour, we were wondering where to eat dinner, and without hesitation, we came to this restaurant where the female server helped us. The restaurant staff welcomed us back warmly. The food was great, the service was the best I've ever had during my trip to England, and the price was reasonable for the fancy food. We plan to visit this restaurant again next year when we visit England again. Thank you to the female server and the restaurant for providing the best food and service👍

Outstanding in every way, Starting as you walk through the door. We were seated and almost immediately, we got a jug of cold tap water. Our waitress was Laura, and how lucky we were! From the time we ordered, she was always around, but with no pressure, and everything was explained. The food arrived with great gaps between the first course, main course, and desserts. The food was delicious and arrived hot. Thank you, Laura, we had a great time. 5+*

First off, great and attentive service. Food was pretty good overall, and I'd happily recommend the crispy pork. Good wine as well. Sides weren't so good though, the gravy, veg, and apple sauce were very plain.

Was able to sit without a reservation, but time was limited. I knew this knowing that I would finish before they needed the table. Started with black pudding scotch egg. Good twist on this but the outer shell was so thin that when it was deep fried it was left a bit too crispy. Had the pork belly for main. The potatoes were good and the apple sauce was as flavourful, but most of the pork was dry. I really liked the pork crackling.

Decent food, though not the most flavourful. The best dish was the special dessert: profiteroles, made with ice cream instead of cream, which was delicious. Nice service and ambience.

Visited Saturday afternoon , waiting over 30mins for food . Luckily fish & chips didn’t disappoint us , golden brown chips are freshly made and portion is big as well .

A very quaint Tavern, We went on a Sunday for dinner, 6 of us. We got 1 table and asked for another table to be placed beside us, It's a small area but the staff obliged and as it was almost time for the kitchen to close, they took our order and we were served very promptly.. The food was fantastic and decent portions, The staff were young. very friendly and very helpful.

Ate here last night after booking earlier in the day, which was recommended for a Friday night. Good pub food, and smaller portion of the daily roast available. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Genevieve. Excellent customer service and good value for money. Roast Pork, Steak and the Chicken Pie plus desserts of sundae and cheesecake all enjoyed! 😋

Just arrived to town and we just had a great dinner of pie and chips and a pork roast dinner. Fantastic cider on tap and delicious sticky toffee pudding to finish. Highly recommend!

Roast dinner is very good but we had a 50 minute wait to get our food. Booking states 1 HR 30 time slot, good job no one asked us if we wanted a pudding as time was running out. Had McFlurry's from a well known burger restaurant instead 😋 Service was hit & miss went to bar to order 2 drinks & when asked by lady behind bar she just walked away 🤔 very weird. Food excellent & the gravy was amazing.

Pleasant Sunday lunch. Plenty of tender beef, my partner had plenty of turkey. The vegetables were good. May be just my preference, but the roast potatoes weren't done enough, the stuffing not cooked, the Yorkshire pudding was more like shop bought and the gravy tasteless. With small tweaks, it would be very good :)

The minute we walked into the Old Thatch Tavern, we were greeted by super friendly Emma. The main courses were delicious, as were the desserts. The apple crumble was excellent and believe me, I'm a connoisseur of crumbles!! The birthday candle on my husband's sundae was a lovely touch too. Compliments to the chef and to Emma too.  We look forward to a return visit when we're next in Stratford-upon-Avon.

This pub is amazing! The back garden is a gem. Danny and Ben have been extremely welcoming and lovely, even with our little sausage dog, cuddling him and giving him treats. The burgers were very good and the price perfect. Whenever we will be back in the area, we will come here! Highly recommended :)

Me and my partner stumbled upon this pub whilst on a short break. The pub is huge with indoor and outdoor seating also a wide range of drinks as well, I'd love to see more cocktails though! If I had one bad thing to say about this place would be the service. The servers on the bar are truly a gem especially the lad who was wearing glasses and had curly hair when we came in! However a couple times on a dead night you'd be waiting 5 minutes or more for one drink because a member of staff was on there phone so a couple times my partner was waiting for couple minutes and then a loud group would walk in and they would serve the large group first. Also on occasion, there must've been a couple working here as some of the waiting time came from them kissing, hugging and flirting behind the bar, which was a little unprofessional. Apart from that I can't wait to come back down here and have a couple drinks again!

Best pub in Stratford Upon Avon. Stopped by for a few drinks today with some friends, bar staff were super friendly and knowledgeable of the real ales on tap. Good selection of lager and bottled ciders. Very interesting cocktails also! Many screens for sport, massive place also, lots of seats and a huge beer garden with a function room. They had a live music competition when I was in and that was great, lots of local people in and a great vibe. Would recommend to anyone.

Very nice pub, good prices. Outdoor and indoor seating. Music outside, very busy on a Saturday, but had no problem finding a seat. Good food too, good service, although they forgot to bring my friends drink over so she had to go inside to ask about it. Friend said she could do with some more mash

Popped in here for a quick pint. Was served very quickly. If you are thinking about having food, you may want to book in advance as it is popular. Didn't eat, but the food being served look fantastic. The burgers look amazing. Will definately visit again. I think it was also dog friendly.

As a Google reviewer with place's l visit, myself & a couple of friends recently visited this place on the 09/10/24. We were on holiday travelling to different places & staying at various hotels on our journey. We were staying in Stratford at this time & decided to visit the town centre to look around & get something to eat. Iam so happy we picked this pub to dine in 💯 service 💯 food & atmosphere with very friendly staff. The food was served hot on warm plates & absolutely delicious 👌🏽👍🏽💯

Really lovely place and delicious food. Lots of vegetarian options available. I loved the tapas. I have to say my pizza was a bit burned in the middle but still tasted amazing and the way they dealt with was really great. I would highly recommend this place.

Our host Juan was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive while also giving us space to enjoy the wines together. We had a dietary requirement in our group which was catered to perfectly. We couldn't be happier with the service and experience, thank you Juan and Veeno!

We did the Sicily wine tasting and it was brilliant! Great food, wine and Ellie did a brilliant job of explaining the different wines to us. Would highly recommend :)

Walked past a lot of times and finally Went there for 241 cocktails. Quality cocktails with a nice setting. Very chill atmosphere there, which is perfect for meetups and chats. The food is also good too!

We went to Veeno's in Stratford upon Avon after using a wine tasting voucher given as a Christmas present. Booking it was easy. When we arrived we were met by a lovely young man called Luke. He showed us to our table and over the next 1.5 hours he shared his knowledge of some Italian wines from Veeno's vineyards in Italy. He was great and so was the wine and food which went with it. He showed us which food went with which wine. Part way through the tasting we were introduced to Marco who took over from Luke and share the last three wines. His passion showed. We had really nice time. We went back later that evening for some food and shared a bottle of one of the wines we had tasted earlier. The service was great. It was very relaxed and we were not rushed at all. We would very much recommend this place and will go back. Thank you. :)

Very pleasant pub. Clean and tidy all round and very good quality real ale. The Butty Bach from Wye Valley Brewery was on top form. The manager is proud to serve well conditioned ale. All in all it’s a highly recommended pub. Well done 👍

I went for a Sunday roast with my parents on 3rd August 2025 and was highly impressed with pretty much everything. The food was generous in portion size and great value for money as was the dessert. The pub is very cosy and atmospheric and the staff were polite, attentive and very efficient. Highly recommended and we look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future.

Great position overlooking the river Avon. Welcoming and friendly reception from an efficient team. We arrived early but this was no problem. Happy to accommodate our needs so we ordered drinks and something to share before ordering our meal. The wine selection and menu had lots of choice but not over complicated. Food arrived in perfect timing and both our choices were cooked to perfection and very tasty. Great all round place to visit with comfy surroundings and a great team. Thank you 🙏

Had a really nice meal with a corporate event. The food and service was excellent. The food was beautiful and all the meals came out together, not easy for a large group. The staff were very helpful throughout and managed everything so well. The setting is wonderful. Now my favourite restaurant in Stratford.

An Absolutely Outstanding Meal at The Boat House! Wow — what an incredible experience at The Boat House in Stratford-upon-Avon! Set right by the canal, the location is stunning, but it’s the food that truly stole the show. I had the buttermilk chicken burger with extra bacon, red slaw, and rustic fries — and honestly, it was perfection. The chicken was insanely juicy with a gorgeous crispy coating, the bacon added the perfect salty crunch, and the red slaw gave it a fresh, tangy kick. The rustic fries were golden, crispy, and totally addictive — everything on the plate was spot-on. My friend had the steak with peppercorn sauce, and it looked (and tasted!) like something straight out of a top steakhouse — beautifully cooked, melt-in-the-mouth tender, and packed with flavour. You can taste how fresh and high-quality everything is, and considering the generous portions and the incredible quality, the prices are fantastic. On top of all that, the staff were absolutely incredible — so professional, friendly, and welcoming. They really made the whole experience even more special. The Boat House is an absolute must-visit — we left full, happy, and already planning our next trip back!

We ate here on Saturday bank holiday weekend. Four of us thoroughly enjoyed meal and excellent service from our waitress Jess and bar after vacating table at 8:30 for mini Guinness x 4 x twice excellent atmosphere will sure go again.

My wife and I visited for the first time last night. An amazing setting with incredible food and friendly attentive staff. My wife is coeliac and was able to have a main, dessert and gluten free lager. Highly recommend, we will definitely be visiting again.

An absolutely delicious meal - with very efficient and friendly staff, and all in a lovely location on the river! Will definitely be visiting again! Would highly recommend the King Prawn Pil Pil - the best dish I’ve had in quite a while!

The view of the S-O-A was fantastic! The food was absolutely amazing. The burgers were flavorful and juicy, and they were paired with incredible fries. The service was excellent as well; our waitress was friendly, professional, and very helpful. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return!

Thank you for a lovely evening Loxleys. We sat in a small room on the left hand side of the entrance. It was beautifully decorated. I was greeted with Happy Birthday wishes & received a card. As the night progressed two other couples arrived who were also celebrating birthdays. We had such a fun evening. The food was delicious. I had the carrot salad & truffle fries. My OH had steak which he enjoyed. Service was impeccable. Thank you Loxleys.

I visited Loxleys in Stratford-upon-Avon on Friday night for a romantic dinner with my fiancée, and we had a wonderful evening. From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, attentive and genuinely friendly. That level of service stayed consistent throughout the night, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. We ordered the châteaubriand with both peppercorn and Stilton sauce, and it did not disappoint. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing - one of the best we’ve had. The atmosphere was lovely too, exactly what we wanted for a romantic dinner. Unfortunately, a nearby customer spent quite a bit of time loudly on a phone call, which did take away from the mood a little, though of course that was out of the restaurant’s control. Overall, it was a lovely evening with great food and excellent service. We’d definitely return next time we’re in the area.

We came here for the first time for our 1 year wedding anniversary meal and had a lovely evening. The food, staff and atmosphere were all excellent. They had a full gluten free menu which was very extensive and had several items on you struggle to find as gluten free. We had the squid and chicken wings (both GF) as starter and the lamb and steak mains. Would highly recommend for a lovely evening out. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent food as always and great service. We had feta spring roll for starters and it was amazing then steak for mains which is always great. Well worth a visit when going to Stratford. Only negative would be the introduction of service charge which is 10%.

Had a day wandering around Stratford, got peckish & looked on trip advisor for recommended places. This came up so tried, great staff very quick service and really tasty hot food(careful with the hot plates ;) ). Really enjoyed the atmosphere would recommend.

Really classy venue, I tried wine and appetizers, sitting between the bar and the window. The service was friendly and fast and the food perfectly prrpared and presented. Large selection of wines and appetizers and it is a full restaurant with broad menu - but I tried only the wine and appetizers.

A wonderful piece of history, perfectly preserved. Lovely, helpful staff. We were utterly delighted during our visit to have some actors performing sections from the plays. A beautiful, important and valuable place.

Very interesting to see where Shakespeare grew up. You can also purchase tickets to go on a tour of his house. The town itself has lovely shops, even an all-year-round Christmas shop. Definitely walk around the town, there are so many interesting facts you can read, along your walk.

With not a lot of time to spare, we ran through this wonderful landmark and got a wonderful experience. Shakespeare’s birthplace felt like a familiar home even though it was our first visit there. The volunteers were incredibly helpful and friendly, went above and beyond to help and support each visitor. The tickets that we bought only covered Shakespeares birthplace but there was an option to see Anne Hathaways home which due to time constraints, we couldn’t do. I also believe that the tickets also allow you to go back over a 12 month period as many times as you want to. All in all, a wonderful place to see, visit and enjoy.

This visit is so well done and it’s incredible to see the house where Shakespeare lived. There is also a beautiful garden in the interior and guides around the house to help educate you and tell you about the rooms you are visiting! There is also a rendition of Romeo and Juliette every 15 minutes. They make it very kid friendly as well with a scavenger hunt. We didn’t buy tickets in advance but were able to walk right up and enter.

Very charming street with a lovely park. BUT … VERY touristic. If focused on learning about Shakespeare, then this is the place to be. If focused on the Cotswolds and charming villages, then you may wish to skip Stratford Upon Avon and venture to smaller villages that offer a more peaceful experience.

If you're into Shakespeare (and who isn't?), it's a must visit. The guides are knowledgeable, the exhibits fascinating, the building magnificent. I recommend purchasing the one ticket for all three sites, this one, Nash's house, and Anne Hathaway's Cottage. £30 for all three is great value. Down sides? Busy no matter what time of day it is. Lots of School and Coach groups from far and wide.

I really enjoyed our visit to Shakespeare’s birthplace. We bought the 3 site pass at the door and visited here first. We started by going through and exhibit with some background and information on Shakespeare and then outside and in the queue to enter the house. There was about a 10-15 min wait to get into the house itself as we were following a school group. Inside the house there were staff in multiple rooms who provided background to the spaces and information on Shakespeare life and the home. We found it very informative. Before or after entering the house you can walk through the beautiful garden right outside it. The exit is through the bookshop/giftshop.

Beautiful riverside in the sunshine. Brunvh menu , no greenn red or fungi to bother with. Beautifully cooked poached eggs wgich could have done with being reheated. Excellent hash brown. Gluten free a difficulty as limited meny and staff didnt know and the one we had resented having to find out. Cumberland sausage was advised as gf and tasred good. Fingers crossed it was. This is a beautiful setting but nowhere as good as the restaurant on the 3rd floir. Lets the brand down. The manager said she would adress issues, i hope she does.

We went on my birthday for a pre-theatre meal. The service was exceptional. I was made to feel very special. There was a full vegetarian menu. The food was delicious. After the meal I was given a special birthday cake plate. Thank you.

We had a lovely pre-theatre dinner at The Rooftop Restaurant at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and it was the perfect start to our evening before Cyrano de Bergerac! 🎭 The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour — from the delicious tomato soup and smoked salmon starter to the perfectly cooked main and heavenly desserts 🍰✨ Everything felt fresh and well-balanced. The service was attentive and friendly, and the view over Stratford-upon-Avon made the experience even more special 🌆💫 Even though I was fighting off the flu and stuck with tea instead of wine 🍵😅, it was still a wonderful birthday evening. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the theatre or looking for a relaxing, elegant meal in a great atmosphere! 💖

Came here for pre-theatre dinner on a Friday evening. At £35 for a three course meal, this was excellent value for money. The menu had lots of options and the we both agreed that the food and service were excellent. The restaurant decor was cleverly done, with great views across the park and river. This place most definitely exceeded our expectations.

We often eat at the Rooftop restaurant and have enjoyed excellent food and service, everything served in time for us to go downstairs and enjoy the theatre experience. However, on Monday evening, in spite of the restaurant not being very busy, we had to wait quite a while for our drinks and then we were served with such a delay that we had to rush our main course in order to ensure we were not late for the performance. Disappointing.It seems staff are much more efficient when they are busy as they seem to focus better: my g&t was presented with almost completely melted ice cubes , it seemed it had been prepared much earlier and then had sat on the bar counter for some time.

Had lunch here for Mothering Sunday - first time visit. Really impressed with the service, the food, the view, the acoustics of the place, the seating and comfy chairs, the drinks menu and the climate in the dining area. Everything is geared towards a great experience. 10% tip is charged and I have no problems with that. Will be back.

Special mention for the lovely Louise who made my mother and I feel so very welcome. She was friendly, knowledgeable and really took the trouble to ensure we had everything we needed. She is a real credit to you. Give her a pay rise! The “small plates” are a great idea. A full meal would have been too much for us so soon after breakfast and before sitting through a show. The interesting and delicious selection of small dishes and sides was ideal.(The little cubes of black pudding hash were especially yummy). It was also a very pleasant surprise to be offered complimentary sparkling water. This trip to the theatre was my gift to my mother for her 95th birthday.I can’t think of anything she would have enjoyed more and it will be a very special memory for us in the years to come. Found on line whilst away and was not disappointed. Booked a table on line, and arrived to a quite small and quiet pub. Inside was narrow but went on forever backwards. We were asked if we were booked and informed we could pick any table. The place was lovely with black beams and white walls, the cutlery and napkins in a metal tanker. Ordered drinks snd food at the bar and after a short wait the food arrived, with a look of home cooked food. I had the chicken kev with chips, so much I could not finish, but tasted lovely. My hubby had the ale and steak pie with mash which went fine a treat. We would both ho back again and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. The staff and there service was amazing.

Lovely old pub but we ended up visiting because we were following a treasure hunt and the final clue was cleverly hidden in this pub! A quick drink was the least we deserved for our hard work solving the clues.

What an amazing first visit to Stratford upon Avon to see this wonderful old pub. We called at peak lunch time to see if we could seat 5 and 5 or 10 together and they split us over two tables then proceeded to look after us with some of the best customer service ever. Atif and Dawn looked after our tables and were merry and kind - made sure we got a chance to win a reward and accommodated our dietary needs with fab recommendations included. Can't recommend enough - I'll be making sure that to recommend to anyone visiting this town!

This place is everything I wanted and more. I am just now finishing my desert and feeling like I just lived my 1500s dream. I feel like I’ve just come in from peddling my wares. Steak pie…10/10. Everything is divine. Great cask ale selection. Incredible ambiance. Would definitely recommend.

Found this nice pub for a quick lunch. Ambiance is very nice. Good food . We got cheese sandwich on sourdough, steak sandwich on ciabatta and mac and cheese. We ordered and pay at the bar and we got our food in less than 15 mins . Must visit place in Stratford-upon avon.

Lovely place very dog friendly, people were welcoming. The service was good and food was the standard pub food.

Excellent location. Very close to historical points of interest. Service was very good (especially Ryan who was very hospitable and attentive!). Great value for food. The rooms were clean with very comfortable beds - and quiet despite being part of the pub. The stairs to the rooms above the pub are very steep so I would avoid these rooms if you have mobility issues. Other than that, would recommend for a weekend trip!

My wife and I visited The Pen & Parchment the first Saturday September 2025. It is a delightful hotel and public house in Beautiful location. The bar staff were very friendly and most helpful, and the food we ordered was wholesome very tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately, table service was not up to the same level of standard. We ordered the Camembert Sharer as a starter, it was gorgeous, however, we were no more than halfway through eating this delicious starter, when the waitress appeared with our mains. From this moment on the table service got gradually worse. Our mains were placed in front of us, we had to hurry through our starter in order to eat our mains whilst they were still hot. When we did finish our mains, we waited an age for the plates to be collected. We then asked for the dessert menu, and that was the last we saw of the waitress. We sat at the table for 20 + without anyone attending to us. I have to point out that the restaurant was not particular busy. Eventually we paid and left. I have to say, a wonderful evening was spoilt by poor service.

Our group of five had an array of starters & they were all delicious, arrived quickly & were piping hot. We loved the atmosphere in the pub. Really warm & friendly. Four of us ate together. We were served by Ryan and Hannah who we could not fault - they were helpful and pleasant, willingly getting us extra gravy. . Food excellent- hot and tasty. Wine perfect. Surroundings warm and cosy. What a lovely place to spend our time 🥂

2nd visit to the Pen & Parchment. There's a dog friendly area within the main pub - to the right upon entering the main door. We had their lunch time sandwich deal, steak in Ciabatta, 2 drinks and a side of chips and onion rings came to £23.00 Bonus for me is that they serve Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Recommended

Visited while in Stratford-upon-Avon. A lovely looking Spoons from the outside and well suited in it's surroundings of tudor buildings nearby. Once inside it still looks lovely but then the far end seems like a big cafe. I know this is a big tourist town but I think they were nearly all in there! Managed to get a booth. The staff were run off there feet but still got our food to us relatively quickly. I've had better fish but can't blame them for that because that's what they've been supplied. It was an OK experience but wouldn't rush back but that's no reflection on the hard working staff.

I didn't have food. However I found the whole experience wonderful. From the witty banter from the staff to the £2 a pint cider, I feel i could get pisched vewy qwickly 5 stars 🌟

One of the best Wetherspoons we’ve visited! Clean venue with quick, efficient service. We ordered from the table, but you can also go to the bar if you prefer. We were after some plain, good food — and that’s exactly what we got. Had the sausage, chips and beans, and a BBQ burger. The chips, to be fair, were so good!

Nice stuff first. Its a nice Spoons (I'm a Spoons fan). Recently refitted, clean and nice. The food was ok at best, passable. The staff were ok, friendly enough - but, the management are too soft on the rowdier element. There were some obnoxious guys in there and the staff didn't know how to handle them. The door team were tip top though

Very good and can we mention the hardworking and friendly staff. They actually stood out compared to many places in Stratford Upon Avon. But ......... To my disgust Greene King pubs dont give the option to tip staff when you pay by card. Instead it goes to a " charity " This would actually be a genuine reason not to revisit as this is what they think and treat their staff.

My wife and I visit every year for Birthdays and Anniversaries. It's become our tradition for the last 15 years. It's always an amazing experience, the food is absolutely incredible and the staff are always lovely and down to earth. We intend to keep coming several times a year for the rest our our lives.

Food, above all else was hot and plentyfull, chicken and stuffing ball were lovely, meal was let down by the veg, bry and clearly reheated. The whole visit was rescued by “Lilly” a hardworking, polite lovely young lady, a credit to Green King.

Came in for lunch and the menu caters well for gluten free options. Had the halloumi lunch deal and it was lovely! Sam was super friendly and made an appearance in his chef whites which was great. Quick service too even though I ordered on the app. Will be returning again when I’m next in Stratford

Went there this evening with my son for a belated mother's day meal I had the chicken and mushroom pie and mash, it was delicious my son had the steak on a skewer and chips and it looked scummy his partner had the epping ham egg and chips which also looked tasty, for pudding my son had the ice-cream while I and his partner had homemade apple pie and ice cream which also was excellent, definitely go back again. And very reasonably priced.

Spent a few hours in here today celebrating a work thing was great until a barmaid entered and was so rude because we were enjoying ourselves ( only ones in the pub by the way ) she politely!!! Told us not to return RUDE

I suggested re- opening the Keys as an establishment, as when we visited on Friday 22nd August, the pub was open with the same signage outside. However, I believe this is now the Red Clover, which didn't appear on Google Maps previously as an option. However, whichever one it is called now, we had a couple of drinks and great fun playing the Pacman machine. Would be nice to see more pubs bring these sort of things back. Staf were welcoming, chatty and friendly.

We visited to see the Rooters! They were fantastic. However, we paid £16 for two single gin & tonics that were served in plastic glasses! Hence we only had the one drink.

The new owner is incredible (the Irish chap), very informative of the local area, better than tour guide service, even walked us to a local restaurant Will definitely recommend this pub!

Poor imitation of a proper pub of old, 2 ales, which are ok, interior is a rambling mix of mediocrity, with a TV belting out Capitol FM purely for the benefit of the bored bar staff. A thoroughly depressing place.

Went to keys for the first time since the new owners had taken over and WOW will be definitely going there more often!!!! Food was amazing and Drinks were very well priced compared to most places in Stratford, the setup outside is really good with current covid rules 10/10 if I could rate it

A great night out last Friday. Live music a bit on the loud side but it was good. Gets busy for a small place but it copes well. Happy to go back again.

This was our first visit, so always makes me anxious as an autistic person. We always inform the restaurant on booking about this. We were greeted at the door & shown to a table quite close to the front, which felt a little vulnerable. Less than a minute later, the server came back & said they’d just seen our booking notes & they had a quieter table on the far side of the restaurant. We moved, & were shown to a booth. This felt much nicer. I ordered the Korean Chicken Burger with skin-on fries & hubs ordered the All Bar One Signature Burger with the same & we added a side of onion rings. All arrived quickly, & were tasty enough. We shared a pudding of Sticky Toffee Rum Pudding with Ginger Ice Cream. This was nice, but I personally would have liked to have had the option to have it with custard instead, but that’s just my preference. Our server was friendly & gave a check back too, which is always good. Worth mentioning the restaurant do Blue Light Discount, & their website also has some good offers, which can make the meals more reasonable. For us, we’d say it’s a nice place to come as a group or with teenage children, especially with the discount but we probably wouldn’t come back as a couple. Again, personal preference as opposed to anything the restaurant did in particular. Food was pleasant enough for a chain, and the move of table was much appreciated!

First time here, and will use again. Food very tasty, reasonably priced and just right sized portions for my wife and I. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for disabled, although not a huge restaurant. Positioned in a courtyard, so no real parking outside, but is nearby. Pleasant atmosphere, relaxed and peaceful. Good menu, for most tastes. Will use again when in Stratford.

Had a fantastic time at All Bar One Stratford! Came for the bottomless brunch and it absolutely did not disappoint. The food was delicious, drinks were constantly flowing, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for! Special shoutout to Helen - her service was outstanding! She was so attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. It really made the experience feel extra special. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Myself and my friends visited yesterday afternoon for the Bottomless Lunch. Our waiter was very good asking us regularly if we wanted another drink in the one and half hour allotted slot we had. The food menu was varied and we all enjoyed what we chose. An excellent afternoon.

Went to All Bar One for my birthday with a group of friends and was served by Grace who was great! Super great service and all staff were so friendly too. Definitely recommend!

Great service, we attended 2 hours early and we was seated and assisted straight away. Good food and cocktails bit overpriced for the salad but the food quality was very good. Ordered lamb skewers to compliment the salad dish that I ordered, but was charged £5 for 1 skewer. Overall great cocktails but salad is slightly overpriced for bar food. If I went here again I would just purchase drinks and not food. Nice environment and setting. And staff were very polite and courteous.

We had our wedding reception in The Henley Suite at Riverside Venue. The communication was good from the beginning, they offered a very competitive price in comparison to most places in Stratford, and the service on the day was great. Staff were on hand to deal with everything we needed on the day, they couldn't help enough. The room was laid out very well for all our guests (over 70), and we were kept in the loop throughout. The lighting inside and the grounds were lovely for taking photos. Would definitely recommend as a venue for any occasion.

From start to finish this was the best meal out we have had for sometime! Service friendly yet professional food totally amazing! We had calamari, lava stone steak, fish and chips apple pie and fudge cake. All of an excellent standard in a lovely atmosphere would highly recommend.

A great place to watch sports as there are so many screens. We just went there for a drink in the bar. On a scorching day, it was lovely and cool and there is a great view over the river. There is a wide veranda outside to sit and drink and chat and plenty of tables and benches in the garden. Family and dog friendly, we really enjoyed it and will go again

The food was excellent a very Sunday lunch the beef and vegetables excellent just roast potatoes not crispy and undercooked Desert ice cream was delicious and very reasonable The team excellent there was a great sense of care and very attentive very smiley and warm Would definitely go again when there is not outside music it was just too loud however it did stop half way through then it was really lovely Thank you everyone for a great Sunday lunch on a very hot day 👏

Awful!! What a waste of money. £10 per person for entry to a “beach party”. Nothing beachy at all! The place is swarming with wasps, full of asbo,s and extremely dirty. The food is worst than weatherspoons and that’s saying something! The DJ ignored our music requests and the dance floor was full of oldies while the “young ones” looked on! Lucky they had brought in Derek Sandy from the Isle of Wight because he was 5 star! Oh, forgot to mention that a Fruitshoot costs £4.50!!! No I would not come back and no I would not recommend!

Walked up to this pub on a recommendation from the nearby Youth Hostel. It was a good one… This is a lovely classic British pub. The staff could not have been more friendly and professional. There was good selection of popular beers etc. However, the star of the show was the fish n chips. I went for the large option and was not disappointed. A sizeable piece of beer battered fish cooked fresh and to perfection. Tasty chunky chips and a nice portion of mushy peas. The tartare sauce was good too.

We went to The Crown on a Wednesday evening as we were staying nearby. We had a warm and friendly greeting amd were advised that food wouldnt be served until after 5pm, so we sat and had a drink while we waited for the kithen to open. We were shown to a lovely table in the dining area, I ordered taco's and my husband ordered chicken wings, chips and onion rings. The food came out and was delicious, well presented and plentiful. The service we received was excellent and the food was delicious.

Go here every year for our family get together. Mark is very obliging of our needs and the BBQ food is always excellent including the vegan option. It has an outside play area perfect for the children.

Called in for a quick drink when staying in the area. A nice friendly pub, in a oldly worldy style. Reasonable priced beers. We didn’t have any food but what we saw looked good. If we in the area longer then we would have sampled more drink and definitely the food. Oh and dog friendly too

Friendly hosts. Food available as smaller appetite portions at a sensible price. We stayed here overnight in our motorhome in their car park very convenient for Stratford plays!

We've had a fantastic 40th Birthday celebration for my husband at the Embankment in Stratford upon Avon. Sun was shining, the food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful and the DJ was awesome. We've had an outside area and the dance floor exclusive for our guests for majority of the night. Thanks to everyone for making this happen!

Good food, however one staff member was constantly hovering over the table removing one item at a time, leaning over family members and taking items that we hadn’t even finished.. Please tell your staff it’s rude and very annoying. Not the kind of service I would expect from any establishment, felt as if we were rushed. Totally spoilt the atmosphere of a relaxing lunch.

We had a very disappointing experience that was saved by a lovely waitress , we didn’t get her name but it was her first day working at the restaurant and she was Australian. We booked an Igloo well in advance and paid a deposit for a meal for 5 to celebrate a family birthday When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by a member of staff that looked totally confused when we told him we had booked an igloo , he appeared to have no idea what we were talking about and asked us if we wanted table 25 ! While we were trying to figure if we were at the correct venue he then told us that they were only serving pizza There was no explanation , no apologies, no awareness of our booking details After a discussion between ourselves we decided to sit inside and make the most of the situation . My sister was upset and frustrated as it was her 60 th. Birthday celebrations with her family Then appeared the totally lovely member of staff that really made us feel understood and couldn’t have done more to make our lunch a really happy and enjoyable celebration We were also given a complimentary round of drinks which was much appreciated We were later told that the igloos were removed 6 weeks ago so wonder why we were not contacted And as we had a booking and paid a deposit why were we not contacted to advise us that due to a lack of staff and no management that day the menu was limited to pizza The restaurant is in a lovely position next to the river and we did enjoy our afternoon in spite of the disappointment

Lovely location, we were greeted at the gate by a very polite manager who found us a table sat us down with menus and made sure to make us laugh. We ordered some burgers with chips, food was very nice portions were massive. A lovely waiter (Michael)took our order for drinks and food and took the payment at the table. Food arrived after 30mins which we found to be excellent timing especially taking in consideration how busy it was. Before arrival we have read a review where someone stated it was unorganized, and I can honestly say this is totally different to the experience we had. Everything seemed to run smoothly. We will be definitely coming back and we would definitely reccomend. 😊 thank you all

Very nice establishment in a perfect location in the centre of Stratford right by the river. Good selection of food at reasonable price for such a popular tourist destination. I opted for the tandoori chicken skewers with mini Bombay Potatoes.

Do not visit!!! Me and a friend of mine visited this pub on the way home from work To have a quick pint And was told we could not be served as we were “travellers” Even though we had never been to the pub. Absolutely disgusting to be treated this way and was told by the bar man that the landlord had enforced this rule. Absolutely disgusting and modern day racism. Trading standards has been sent the video proving this where the barman Has said travellers will not be served, The police and trading Standards have been informed

I strongly advise against visiting this establishment. My recent experience with my friend and boyfriend was utterly disgusting. I was unjustly accused of carrying a fake ID, simply because it was issued in a different country. The staff’s attitude was appalling—completely dismissive and unwelcoming towards foreigners. The atmosphere was anything but hospitable, and the entire encounter left me feeling deeply disrespected. If you value good service and a welcoming environment, I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Visited this public house on the 21 and 22 of March this year was made to feel very welcome by staff. Quite a spacious interior very clean ,found locals to be very friendly strongly recommend and definitely call again many thanks

Nice cosy atmosphere for a drink and the landlord Mark is a real star and even a showman - he hosts fun evenings like quizzes and 'Play Your Cards Right'. Dont be put off by the outside - it may not be everyone's idea of a typical pub but there's a warm welcome within!

Proper boozer , friendly place, big beer garden, unfortunately they don't do food , but there is an excellent Indian restaurant a short walk away

This really is a beautiful cinema, great food and service. The seats weren't as spacious as we expected, I'm not sure how much it changes between screens. They focus on catering high end food but you only have a tiny table you share with the probably stranger next to you. We sat in the first row in a smaller screening room, booking only a few hours before the movie, there werent many spaces left this Sunday afternoon. It was way too close to the screen, at this price I would expect to see the movie well from any seat. Definitely go for row 3 and further. We've recently joined Everyman cinemas members. The 10% off food hasn't worked for us at this venue (or the other one we visited) but it was honoured when we went out to order in person. They need to get a good developer and make a proper website and app, you need it to book your ticket (they can fill up fast) and order your food to your seat... neither worked as it should with membership perks.

Everyman Cinema in Stratford-upon-Avon is a real gem. From the moment I walked in, the surroundings felt warm, stylish & welcoming. The service also stood out thanks to Tara who was friendly, attentive and genuinely added to the experience. The cinema itself has comfortable seating, offers service to your seat and a fantastic selection of films that makes each visit feel a little bit different. It is so much more than just “going to the cinema” - it feels like a real treat.

Never been to an Everyman before and we loved it! Really comfortable chairs and sofas, footrests and even waitress service! Staff were great and really helpful. Managed to go to a Silver Screen showing, the free hot drink and cake were lovely! Definitely recommend and will return.

Really enjoyable visit. I rarely leave reviews but, Ashley and the team were very friendly and accommodating. Great customer service and dealt with a minor issue really well. We will return soon.

All the staff in the everyman cinema, Stratford, were faultless. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY ENOUGH FOR THOSE WITH ACCESS NEEDS. I took my Nan who is wheelchair bound to a very full showing of the Thursday murder club. The bar staff were so accommodating and even took us into the screen before the showing to allow us to find an appropriate seat. Adam, the manager, was so kind and helpful. He went the extra mile by helping Nan in and out of her chair. Thank you everyone for your help and making our visit so great. Thanks, Jess & Nan 😄

A posh little cinema. Comfy sofa seats or single seats with little side tables to put all your bits. The food was surprisingly good; much better than what you'd expect of a cinema with loads of options from pizzas and burgers to tapas style dishes with a wide range of drinks too. The novelty of table service was great and the staff looked after us very well. We'd have spent more time in the bar area if we'd have had time as it's a nice space to debrief after a film with glass walls and a balcony looking over the Bell Court. You obviously pay more for all these little luxuries but it's totally worth it.

The Stratford Alehouse was a real find. The four ales were very well chosen to provide choice and the condition of the beer was excellent. The beer is served directly from the cask. As visitors we were made to feel welcome by both staff and the locals. This is a great example of an English pub regardless of size. As the clché goes, we "arrived as strangers and left as friends." If you're in Stratford, seek out this place. It is a million miles away from your average Green King!

I absolutely loved this micropub! Saw it listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. The people managing it were super friendly and helpful. The decor is lovely - ale history themed and with vinyl records too. They also have live music. Outdoor seating and dog-friendly. Three unusual real ales on and they clearly usually have more. I am looking forward to coming back!

Been yesterday with a couple of friends and we really had a good time! Nice beer and cheap for Stratford on Avon (dont know how people can complain about a 4£ pint of real nice beer and say its expensive when in any other pub are way more expensive). Lovely live music with a very talented lad, friendly service and lovely beers.

Cracking little gem of a real alehouse, some nice ales, and a fantastic atmosphere, only problem it shuts at 10pm.... Beers are real ales, pretty cheap, ( even for a Northerner lol) and live entertainment. Real pub x 10/10.

Really good pub. We went in just after opening around 1pm and there were people already in, so this tells you how good a place is. Went back later in the day around 5pm, it was busy but was made to feel welcome and seats were offered. Good choice of ales and other drinks. Great atmosphere. Clearly a pub with its regulars who are very welcoming. The only place in Stratford where you'll get real ales that change constantly so you'll never be disappointed.

Absolute gem this place discovered it yesterday lovely ales and staff were very friendly and welcoming 5 stars from me. I havent put a rating for food as Im not sure if they do any we just had drinks.

What can I say about this place! A great atmosphere, with such a lovely and friendly owner! Also, the people who are hanging out (which perhaps are the owner's friends) were like my friends! Thank you for the great time. Hope to see you again, soon!

Do NOT leave your car at this car park! Their carpark is not separated nor secured from their sports field. The window in my car was smashed by the Sport Club Member. Reported to the Club authority. No response. They are also avoiding responsibilities for damages - in their car park - during events organized by them. In the end I had to replace the glass under my car insurance and the carpark paid my excess.

I visited to play tennis and found the club to be welcoming. The tennis facilities are good as the surfaces are modern artificial clay. Although the courts are flood lit members did comment on the installation not being perfect. The club has ambitious plans. If these come to fruition it will be a first class sports centre. One word of warning; the car park is shared with the Butterfly Farm and is open to the public. It can be very busy. Club members have to record their car registrations.

Great place to visit in Stratford, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Membership is not required to visit and have a drink whilst watching the game. Despite living in the area for many years, I didn’t realise it would be open to the public until recently when I used the parking facilities and wandered into the club. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere and impressed by the facilities, especially the range of activities that are offered by the club, not to mention the perfectly maintained cricket pitch. There were plenty of activities and sports on offer for people of all ages who want to participate, ranging from tennis, squash, cricket, yoga, Pilates and more. Most surprisingly, they also have 4 of the nicest snooker tables I’ve ever come across. They have a fully stocked bar and lounge, a kitchen that offers a variety of food from 9am until 8pm on most days.

Nice place but drinks a bit pricey

Not a place I would visit again, it was great for community events and also had a great sports feel with lots to do. We went there for a meeting and I thought it was too busy and the food was okay for the venue, noisy for us and had to keep asking for replenishment for the tea and crockery. If you are a vegan expect to chase things like food to accommodate.

A long standing community venue that's possibly the top club/bar all locals think of before anywhere else. Friendly venue fantastic staff and service where anyone is made to feel welcome.

What a great place! Booked in with my family for a few games of pool this afternoon. Excellent service from friendly staff, good quality tables and drinks at reasonable prices. I would suggest families visit in the daytime as I'm sure it's packed during the evenings. Thanks, everyone. We'll be back soon.

Pints = over priced. Owner dosent tell you the prices untill the end. Overpriced for pool. I stayed there 3 hours and he still didnt tell us the prices till we left and it cost us 30 quid for 3 hours. Wouldn't recommend to anyone, would give no stars if it was an option.

1st time been. Good place, good value and even better owner, brought pints over and was a good craic. Slightly cold in there, but it was everywhere!

Very airy, light and popular place with outdoor space also. Usual tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Carpeted area as you walk in then wooden floors. Low ceilings with wooden beams. Staff were friendly and polite. Guinness was alright. Enjoyed my visit.

Nice pun in the town centre. Little selection of cask ale. Small but cosy beer garden. Unfortunately the plastic plants destroy the countryside vibe. Toilets are the fanciest part of place :).

Came for an impromptu meal this week for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. There was 9 of us and they had no problems with fitting us in. Calum and Nate were serving us and they were great! Very friendly and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals and there was a good variety of options. Would definitely recommend and hope to return at some point

Popped in for lunch, very nice pub clean and well presented. Staff were all very polite and professional. We ordered food which took around 15 minutes to come out. Food arrived hot and was delicious. We ordered the lasagna, a decent sized portion which came with two slices of garlic bread and was very tasty, the Italian sandwich again very tasty and a good portion size for lunch that came with great chunky chips. The steak,onion and cheese sandwich was very nice but my only criticism here I wasn't asked how I would like the steak cooked however it was still slightly pink(i would have preferred rare) but the steak its self was a good cut with no fat or gristle, the onions had been softened but not browned so were lacking abit of the sweetness. Drinks were good and again reasonable priced we had a large white wine, a soft drink and a pint of cask ale which had been well kept. Overall a great place and reasonably priced would happily return.

A pub with a modern yet traditional feel close to centre of town offering a good range of quality beers from a smaller Midlands brewer. I've only tried the fish and chips but it was done well. A good choice if you are visiting Stratford upon Avon and want to sample a proper English pub.

Went here for a Sunday roast and it was one of the best I've ever had! Generous portions, wonderfully cooked and the staff were very friendly. Such a relaxed atmosphere too, would definitely visit again to try their non-sunday menu.

Great venue, I great spot for a tourist, and if I was a local, this most certainly would be the spot you would find me regularly. Fantastic service, an amazing performance from a local artist and a wonderful vibe can all be found here. Also little bonus was perhaps the best Guinness I've had in a long time, only enhanced by the phenomenal free foam printing service they offer, where you can use your own selfies, pictures or texts onto the Guinness.
