Cocktail bar
The Hockley Arts Club is a multi-level cocktail bar with various unique spaces, each offering its own distinct ambiance. The ground floor, known as Stockholm, features Scandinavian-inspired decor with deep leather sofas and warm carpets. On the top floor, the Electric Garden offers an exotic conservatory-style setting for enjoying gin and prosecco. In between these spaces lies the Blue Rooms, where intimate tables and private booths provide full table service.
We visited here as part of Nottingham Cocktail Week and it was one of our favourites so my partner decided she'd like to visit again for some birthday cocktails Great service and great drinks, it's a little pricey but no more than any other good cocktail bar and I feel like you're getting what you pay for so it's still good value
Jack G — Google review
Nice atmosphere and good vibes overall. The drinks on the menu were quite meh, personally not a fan of “non-classics” that are overly fruity or juicy. Luckily our bartender was “Cas” who guided our cocktail journey and made us some classics and some special “off menu” items. Recommend asking for a 1910 if you are served by him.
Marton S — Google review
The service was really good and attentive. I had a twister cocktail which tasted exactly like the ice cream lolly. It was incredible. I then followed up with a espresso martini. Again, this was great. It was table service. They are a little pricey but for the ambience, service and cocktails, it's worth it for sure. Very tasty and enjoyable.

Great little find in Hockley! Amazing cocktails, the gentleman was impeccable! Would recommend for those who like a cocktail with a difference!
Lynette O — Google review
Such a great place for delicious drinks! You can choose between three floors which have different vibes (Stockholm is more for dancing, The Blue Rooms is great to chill and chat in a very cosy, warm atmosphere, and The Electric Gardens is perfect to chat and hang out in a nature oriented decor). The cocktails are slightly different between all three venues (although a couple of drinks are available on all three menus). The staff is super friendly. My personal favourite is the Blue Rooms. The cocktails are honestly amazing and well worth the slightly higher prices. Even when a drink isn’t quite what one would go for, they still taste great, perfectly balanced and full of flavour! Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a chilled vibe and delicious drinks.
Marjolaine L — Google review
Used to be a really good bar. Now serves cocktails from pre made mixes, then the staff shake them like they are making a cocktail from scratch. Price is like they are making them properly. Really disappointing! Used to be a hidden gem in Notts! Now shocking tbh
Tom P — Google review
The vibe felt off as soon as we walked in. Two members of staff looked directly at us while we waited to be seated, but carried on chatting to their colleagues rather than acknowledging us. Eventually, we were seated at the bar, where the barman asked if we’d been given menus (we hadn’t). He then asked a blonde staff member - Alice, I think—to bring us some. She rolled her eyes and did so reluctantly, which we later realised was because her shift was ending. Regardless, that’s not a professional look in front of customers. When my partner placed the menu on the bar, the barman asked us to remove it in a passive-aggressive way. It wasn’t clear why he couldn’t have just moved it himself, but the way he said it came across as unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. The drinks were fine, but overpriced and nothing memorable. The real issue came later: my husband left early, and as he was walking out, a staff member actually chased him down and demanded payment. He tried to explain that I was settling the bill, but was treated as though he was lying and pressured to pay on the spot. He messaged me afterwards to let me know, which meant I didn’t need to pay again but by that point, the damage was done. I left feeling humiliated and unwelcome. The atmosphere was neither friendly nor inclusive, and unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Great bar with a fun vibe! Alice was amazing — friendly, quick, and made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Coco Tang -Asian Cafe is a trendy spot in Nottingham, UK that offers Vietnamese dishes, Asian-style cakes, and cocktails. The bi-level space includes outdoor seating and operates from 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays, with extended hours on weekends. Visitors praise the homemade hoisin and fish sauce along with the homely atmosphere and service. The cafe's rooftop garden provides an ideal setting for enjoying sunny days.
I saw a recommendation online for Coco Tang and it lived up to its recommendations. We decided to order the seafood platter, sirloin steak and with rice and the pork Vietnamese fried spring rolls. Every bit of our meal was super tasty. Our 3 year old loved every bit and was very keen to eat all the prawn summer rolls and sirloin steak! We also ordered desserts after that came beautifully presented and yummy to eat. The Service was great and the drinks matched the deliciousness of the food! The toilets were very clean and the decor of the whole restaurant & toilets were beautiful. We can’t wait to come back again.

If you come to notts for food it is a must visit. great selection of food and drink. The staff is excellent. I have both eaten in and had a take out, the quality doesn't dip. worth every penny

This place is full of great atmosphere, delicious fresh food beautifully presented on the plates. Everything was fresh and full of flarour. Great choice of food, the menu has variety of everything. Lovely desserts. Great choice of drinks and moctails. Drinks and moctails are delish! All reasonable prices, including the food. The staff were absolutely great, very attentive to order details, very friendly and helpful. Despite it was very busy they were very efficient and the food was served very promptly. The atmosphere of this place is just unbelievable. It's chilled with music in the background. What it's really worth seeing if the roof garden- if you're lucky with the weather and table available there, you will soak the atmosphere of this place even more!

Good vibes and good food and attentive staff (to the point where you get a seat as they want you to order right away)🤗. But yes, definitely recommend. Seen it online so I thought I might try it since. Though quite disappointed as they don't serve egg coffee anymore.

Finally managed to get a seat at Coco Tang! It’s been on my list for three years, but every time I’ve gone. The queue’s been ridiculously long. After waiting eagerly for over an hour, my friends and I finally got seated and ordered the pho. The taste wasn’t quite what I expected, and the price was on the higher side, but I’d still love to go back and try other dishes from the menu. The vibe was lush beautiful interiors and even the desserts on display while waiting in line were super tempting. Because it’s always so busy, the service was a bit slow. The pho didn’t quite hit the mark, but the restaurant itself was definitely impressive.

Coco Tang in Nottingham is a vibrant spot that delivers a memorable dining experience with every dish. The meal started with a refreshing green papaya salad with prawns, which provided a zesty, light, and invigorating start. For the main course, the Ultimate Pho Bo impressed with tender slow-cooked beef rib and oxtail, all simmered in a signature rich broth deeply infused with traditional aromatics—perfectly balanced and aromatic. Dessert was a standout: the pistachio & raspberry choux was an absolute heavenly treat, showcasing the skill and creativity of their baker, Erica. The house drinks selection is equally impressive—choosing a passion fruit cooler added a sweet and tangy twist to complement the meal. The restaurant itself is a buzzing, vibrant place with unique decor and plenty of atmosphere, while the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. Even the facilities stood out, with toilets that were very clean and well presented. Coco Tang deserves high praise for both its culinary quality and its warm, welcoming environment.
Milan M — Google review
I had this many years ago and wasn’t impressed so thought to give it another go since I’m in tje area but again the food just wasn’t great. Had ribs as a starter which was okay and ordered 2 pho: a mixed beef and a short rib pho, which in my opinion is really disappointing, the broth was so so not the richest, the noodles tasted out of packet and had a weird taste and the side veg like bean sprouts and lemon wedges weren’t fresh either. The service was nice enough and decor was great too just which they would hone in on the food part.
Yanners — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal establishment, i travelled to Vietnam in 2024 and the food was definitely on par with the delicious food I had there. The menu was creative yet not overwhelming, my friend and I shared the vegetarian platter and it was everything we could’ve hoped for. Delicious salt and pepper tofu and friend spring rolls and fresh salads. What a dream of a place

Bar

Pitcher & Piano Nottingham is a modern chain bar located in a converted church, making it one of the coolest bars in the area. Despite its non-independent status, it's a must-visit for its unique setting and spacious interior, perfect for after-work drinks or weekend pre-drinks with large groups. The Grade II-listed church provides a stunning backdrop for dining and drinking on their outdoor terrace, complete with stained glass windows and exposed brick archways.
We had a fab afternoon bottomless brunch! Jessica was a great host, kept us topped up with drinks throughout the time we were there. We paid a bit extra and we all had the steak, egg & chips and it was really good. We would definitely book again, great value for money!

This was my third time coming here on 28.07.2025 and this time I brought my family who flew in from overseas to the UK. We were all really looking forward to it. We arrived at reception at 6:30pm and waited about 10 minutes but no one came to seat us. In the end, we went up to the bartender and were told we had to find our own table — just like a food court. The table we found was dirty and hadn’t been cleared. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, but there was only 1-2 waiter serving everyone. It took another 10 to 15 minutes just to place our order for drinks( 2 beer,2 cocktail & 2 coke), 5 starters, and 4 mains course. After waiting 30 minutes, we still didn’t have any drinks. We asked the same waitress who took our order — she went into the kitchen, then came back and told us the kitchen had lost our order and we’d have to order again. She promised us a free drink as an apology, but in the end, we didn’t get anything at all. Meanwhile, people queuing at the bar got their drinks straight away, while we waited nearly 50 minutes for ours — it was really unacceptable. It wasn’t just our table waiting — the nearby customers were all waiting too. Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived, followed by the mains, but they still missed one of our dishes. When we asked the waiter again, he told us to wait, but after another 10 minutes with nothing happening, we just paid and left. We originally planned to order dessert, but we gave up because we didn’t know how much longer we’d have to wait. Honestly, it was a terrible experience. Despite the beautiful setting, the service was unbelievably bad. It completely wasted our precious time and ruined our evening. I’d rather go to Wetherspoons than ever come back here again.

History, Hues, and Hospitality: Sunday Lunch at Pitcher and Piano Nottingham Our Sunday lunch reservation at The Pitcher and Piano in Nottingham was an absolutely memorable experience, thanks primarily to its stunning and unique setting. Housed within the magnificent High Pavement Unitarian Chapel, this Grade II listed building—originally constructed in 1876—is far more than just a restaurant; it’s a living piece of Nottingham history. The architecture alone is worth the visit. It's truly breathtaking to dine beneath the soaring ceilings and surrounded by the retained grandeur of the former chapel. The conversion, which happened in 1998, brilliantly preserved key elements, giving the space an atmosphere that is simultaneously historic and modern. It makes for one of the most visually interesting and vibrant dining environments you could find in the city, perfectly blending its past as a place of worship and a lace museum with its present as a popular social hub. For a fun, tangible souvenir, we took advantage of the on-site photo booth. It’s a great way to remember your visit, costing £5 for four physical prints and including a digital download of your photos, making the unique backdrop part of your memory. Making the online reservation was smooth and efficient, and upon arrival, we were treated to excellent hospitality. Our experience was made particularly wonderful by Jess, who waited on us. Jess was attentive, professional, and added a warm, friendly touch to our meal, ensuring everything was perfectly taken care of. Great service combined with great surroundings elevates a simple lunch into an occasion. Overall, The Pitcher and Piano offers a truly unique destination for food and drinks. If you’re looking for delicious dining in a jaw-dropping location, this venue delivers on both history and quality service. Highly recommended!

We had our wedding reception at Pitcher & Piano Nottingham, and it was absolutely perfect! The venue looked beautiful, the food was delicious, and the whole team was so friendly and accommodating. A special thank you to Chelcie, who tailor-made the arrangements to suit us perfectly and was incredibly helpful throughout the planning. She made everything run so smoothly and really helped make our celebration unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Pitcher & Piano for any special occasion!!

Had a wonderful Date Night in an atmopheric Location! But should mention that the music is louder than in a normal Restaurant. Delightful Service by Betsy and her colleagues, thank you! Great mixed small plates and an incredible Pornstar Martini. Would defenitely come back on future trips to Nottingham.

Nice food and superb church setting. The ambiance was marvelous! There’s nothing to complain about except sometimes when you order and pay via the QR code, it may not go through. I didn’t encounter any problem but my friend did, so she had to go asking the staff to check if it was alright and ended up ordering and paying the analog way.
Soonyata M — Google review
I had the pleasure of being served by Jess during my recent visit to pitcher and piano, and I just had to take a moment to share how exceptional she was. From the moment we were seated, Jess greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. She was attentive without being overbearing, checking in on us just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed. you could tell she genuinely cared about making our experience great. Jess’s positive attitude and friendly demeanor truly elevated our brunch experience. It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and I appreciate how she went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable visit. If you’re lucky enough to be seated in her section, you’re in great hands. Highly recommend!

Cocktail bar
Tilt Bar in Nottingham is a cozy and intimate venue known for its inventive cocktails and live blues music. The candlelit old-world setting and traditional wooden seating create a comforting atmosphere, making it popular year-round. The bar offers a wide range of classic and daring concoctions, from daiquiris to the spicy chilli dipper martini.
Was excited to visit this cocktail bar after reading through lots of different places it sounded like my type of vibe. Quite dark, candles on the tables and soul music looked a really good cocktail jaunt so in that respect the aesthetic in the Venue is really good. Service was really good a decent level of attentiveness and didn't have to wait long for our cocktails to come and it was quite busy also. Lastly of course the cocktails themselves were superb. Just struck lucky that is was old fashioned week and I had two different old fashioneds both of which were 2 of the best I have had in many cocktails bars. I will take others if I visit again for sure.
Dominic E — Google review
Tilt might be my favourite bar in Nottingham, have not visited in ages as I have moved away from Nottingham. Perfect place if you love intimate place for a drinks with friend or date, minimal/ no music which makes it easier to have a conversation. The vibes and the aesthetic of this place is just immaculate. Bartenders also make really good drinks (we ordered classic cocktails which are not on the menu and they are all great.)
Ye Y — Google review
The Ambiance with relaxed Blues music and classic aesthetics made the place very welcoming and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Popcorn, Pretzels and homemade iced tea were complimentary and in my case desperately needed. As a cocktail lover it broke my heart somewhat that I had to leave my drink half finished, the Dark horse Rum and espresso based cocktail was lovely with a perfect texture and soothing after taste but unfortunately I showed up too early and had yet to have eaten when I visited. Before I had realised my mistake though I had asked for a Vesper Martini which the bartender made with a Cacao vermouth rather than the Lillet blanc I am used to, it was again a wonderful drink that in other circumstances I would gladly order again. It is a real shame I hadn't eaten beforehand as I would have gladly spent more time at Tilt.

Came at happy hour and got 3 cocktails. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere. Was offered popcorn, pretzels and iced tea upon arrival despite them being busy, such a lovely touch.

Complementary iced tea and snacks, and superb unique cocktails at very reasonable prices. If it's on the menu when you get there, try the Liberty Bell! Lovely, cozy and intimate atmosphere and ideal attentive service. Will be back – and soon!
James W — Google review
The best place to go for a cocktail with friends! It's not often we drink but when we do, we go to Tilt! The service is extraordinary and the drinks are phenomenal. It has the perfect vibe for a cocktail bar, plus the snacks definitely come in handy. And if you go in summer, they have the best AC!
Charlie V — Google review
Lovely place, dimly lit cocktail bar with excellent service. Sadly the last couple of times we've been in the drinks weren't up to the usual standard and we felt a bit ripped off. For the price you're better off visiting The Pelican Club where the range and standard of cocktails is far better and they serve food.

Bar
Penny Lane is a family-friendly bar that offers vintage arcade games, pub grub, and creative cocktails. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to relive their childhood memories while enjoying a cocktail. The venue features classic arcade games like pinball machines and end-of-the-pier games, creating a nostalgic fairground atmosphere.
We visited Penny Lane in Nottingham around 5 pm on a Saturday evening and had an amazing time. The place was busy but had a fantastic atmosphere with a really nice, lively vibe. There was a great mix of groups, couples, and even some families with children. Thanks to the venue’s large size, it never felt cramped, and there were plenty of comfortable spaces where you could sit down for a meal, relax with drinks, or enjoy the big games section. One of the highlights was the arcade and funfair games area. Tokens were about £1 each, and most of the games only required one token to play, making it really easy and affordable to have a lot of fun. Buying tokens was quick and simple with contactless payment directly at the machine. They also had the classic horse racing game where you roll balls into holes to race the horses, which not many funfairs still have these days, so it was brilliant to see. If you win three times you get a cuddly toy, and if you win once you receive a little medal, which added so much fun and excitement to the experience. They also had the classic 2p arcade machines where you could put some change in and play the traditional seaside-style games. The cocktails were brilliant at two for £11.95 with a great range to choose from. The ones we had were really well made and tasted amazing. The service at the bar was excellent, and I wish I had caught the barman’s name because he was brilliant and made the experience even better. The location is really convenient, right in the town centre, and there is a large car park next to it in the Lace Market which made parking really easy and stress free. Security on the door also added to the welcoming and safe environment, making it a place where you can properly relax and enjoy yourself. Penny Lane offers something truly different compared to the usual Nottingham bar scene. Great drinks, a great vibe, and a fun and unique experience all in one place. We will definitely be back!
Harvean R — Google review
Great fun, and great value for money! Cocktails were made properly and not rushed, despite being 2-4-1 Tasted fab and an excellent and exciting array to choose from! The venue is fun, and family friendly (certainly during the daytime) Good day date bar! The arcade games are reasonably priced too! Would absolutely recommend.

Really enjoyed our visit at the weekend. Tried a few house cocktails all of which were delicious (and strong). Some good deals - 241 on a variety of drinks. Tried plenty of the games, all of which made the afternoon a fun and retro day out. Decent amount of seating, table service available. Great staff, very friendly.
Chris H — Google review
Penny Lane is a great stop for some cocktails and a few games. It does get very busy at peak times, and is noisy with loud music, the games and people playing. There’s a good choice of drinks, food and desserts, though the cocktails are a little overpriced and underwhelming. However, the little added extras of souvenirs on the drinks is a nice fun touch. The venue is well decorated with a good choice of games. Since adding more games is does seem cramped and when busy, but it is a great place for a weekday fun date.
Hayley R — Google review
One of the cheaper arcades in nottingham and good vibes all around. The cocktails are nice and the staff are super friendly. This place is decorated well and super convenient to get to, it's literally right by the lace market tram stop. Prices for cocktails aren't too bad either. It costs about £1.50 for a token and you can use it on a range of games so not too bad of a price. You can use card to buy these tokens as well, you'll only really need cash for the 2p machines. Some of the machines will just eat your tokens tho so beware.
Aimee E — Google review
Nice choice of games to play, we found a lot of the time we would put tokens in and some Games weren’t working which was annoying. The drinks are average prices with an average choice of drinks. Has a slot machine in here which is good fun as well as all the retro games. Good atmosphere and the staff were nice.
Sean B — Google review
Amazing place. Busy, but happy to wait. Great drinks/prices. You buy token to use arcade machines, so much fun for all.

Good happy hour cocktails and nice vibe inside the bar. Decorated really cute with loads of plants and the music was great too. Recommend going earlier rather than later as can definitely get busy at peak times

Really cool interior design but the place gets crowded fast. The music can be way too loud to be able to have a normal conversation, especially on the very top floor

Lovely cocktail bar hiding in a corner. Great ambience and comfy seatings. Good range of cocktails at a decent price. Music could be loud at times for my taste. Will visit again

Awesome, mix-match style place. So comfy and homely, yet strangely like a jungle. All cocktails are vegan and it's an experience to drink one here. Would recommend!!

Cocktail bar
Bar
Be At One in Nottingham is a lively chain bar known for its sweet, sour, and spicy cocktails. The venue offers mixing masterclasses and has become a popular destination for cocktail enthusiasts in the city. With over 90 different cocktails on the menu, visitors can enjoy a vibrant energy and dedicated bartenders.
ZION OR HEAVEN ON EARTH GABRIELLE - THE BARTENDER - THE ANGEL THAT TENDERED TO ME Walking into Be At One feels like stepping into another dimension—one where the worries of the outside world melt away, and you're left with nothing but good vibes, great drinks, and an atmosphere that can only be described as heavenly. Gabrielle, the bartender, or should I say, the angel, was more than just someone behind the bar—she was a guide through the world of mixology. With a warm smile and an effortless charm, she made the experience personal, almost ethereal. You could tell she loved what she was doing, and it showed in every carefully crafted drink she served. And speaking of drinks, I went with the Raspberry Beret, the most popular cocktail on the menu. It’s been holding its place for at least five years, despite the menu undergoing at least three changes a year. That says a lot about a drink—it’s not just a trend; it’s a staple, a legend in its own right. The blend of flavours was smooth yet exciting, familiar yet surprising. It’s the kind of drink that makes you savor every sip, appreciating the craftsmanship behind it. The bar itself radiates a golden glow, reflecting off the endless bottles lining the shelves like treasures waiting to be discovered. The dim lighting, the pulsing music, the buzz of lively conversations—it all comes together to create an environment that feels electric and intimate at the same time. Whether you're here to unwind, celebrate, or simply soak in the magic of the place, Be At One doesn’t disappoint. It’s more than a bar; it’s an experience, a sanctuary, a little slice of heaven on earth. And with Gabrielle behind the bar, you know you're in angelic hands.

We've been in here when it's been busier than today's visit, but we've always had good service and good music! The bar man (sorry, didn't find out his name, didn't want to be too forward lol) found out what we were looking for in a cocktail 🍸 and made our drinks to our taste. 2-4-1 cocktails at this time of day (have to be 2 the same) felt like a nice bargain (£22 for 4 cocktails). We had a chat at the bar, then enjoyed our drinks and the music (mostly 80's and 70's classics) I couldn't rate the place for food as there were no menus. Recommended to visit here!!

Yesterday I was treated to a cocktail making session by my friends as part of my 40th Birthday celebrations and I had a blast! Atmosphere was fantastic and such a wide range of cocktails you can choose to make. Im mainly writing this review though to give a massive shout of to Nate! He made the experience! He was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable on the cocktails. He made us all laugh and feel relaxed while before the bar. Big thanks to everyone 😍

Came to sample a lovely Margarita as the student offer is £6 on a Monday to Wednesday. Was met with the most friendly bartender called Nate and he had knowledge of what various drinks were deliciously spicy as that was what I requested. After hearing that he could provide spice personified, I had to sample his goods and he didn't disappoint. He did a spice verde Margarita and a mango chilli marg...both made with passion and delivered with flavour! I would highly recommend Be at One and ask for a delicious cocktail 🍸 😋

Great Cocktails and Even Better Service I stopped by Be at One in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon and had a brilliant time. The atmosphere was full of positive energy, with great music and a really friendly feel throughout the bar. It is the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and ready to enjoy yourself. The cocktails were excellent. Every drink was well made and full of flavour. There is a wide variety to choose from, so whether you prefer something classic or a bit more adventurous, you will find something you like. What really stood out was the door supervisor, Ray. He greeted us with a smile and made the whole experience feel welcoming from the very start. It was more than just good service. He made a genuine effort to ensure everyone felt comfortable and looked after. Ray absolutely deserves recognition for the way he represents the place. If you are in Nottingham and looking for great cocktails, good music, and a friendly atmosphere, Be at One is well worth a visit. I will definitely be going back.

Had an amazing time at Be At One in Nottingham! The atmosphere was buzzing, the music was on point, and the cocktails were absolutely top-notch. Great atmosphere and music but the not enough people serving means a very long wait on a Saturday afternoon. Also the drinks are 90% ice and nothing like the menu.

£12 each espresso martinis. Bartender didn't know how to make cocktails and kept reviewing a help-sheet: only put the ingredients in to make one then shared it between two glasses. Asked for manager who asked "have you had an espresso martini before?" then assured us this was correct. Been here before and always highly rated/recommended but certainly gone downhill. Would not recommend.

Omg they offer Gluten free and Dairy free pizza!!! And it’s really good!!! No cardboard base and NOT the cheapest of cheap vegan cheese! I had pepperoni and bbq and it was delicious!! It’s one of the best pizzas I’ve had since developing allergies. The drag brunch was ace! Great atmosphere and great service

We did the Friday Night Bottomless Brunch to celebrate my 30th and we had an absolutely fantastic time! 🥂 This was one of, if not the best bottomless brunch I’ve done. The food and drink service was spot on. The servers were friendly, always on hand, and we didn’t have to ask to be served once, as we were constantly being supplied with food & drink. What made the night though was the entertainment from The Trent Sisters… wow, we have some memories to last a life time! 😳🤣 Thank you so much Das Kino for a night to remember. A trip back is definitely on the cards!

It's been a long time since this place was the Old Vic. First time we'd been here as we don't tend to visit this part of town too often. Very nice place indeed ! Pleasant staff, lovely, clean surroundings and a nice atmosphere. We only popped in for a 'swift half' to see what it was like - ended up staying a couple of hours and having fab pizzas there too! 2 for 1 pizzas at that (both have to be the same). Good selection of beers, ales and ciders(try the Berliner Pilsner!) and great food, I could have had 1 of everything! We'll be back, thanks guys!

Nestled in a charming alleyway called Hurts Yard, 400 Rabbits is a vibrant bar that specializes in tequila and mezcal cocktails, all served up with a splash of funky Mexican flair. This unique spot has made headlines for its playful approach to regulations, even dubbing itself the "Church of the Four Hundred Rabbits" to stay open during strict lockdowns.
Lovely corner inspired by Mexican culture, specialised in tequila and mezcal. It used to be one of my favourite spots before Brexit and I'm super glad it still goes strong. It has an upper floor for larger groups and there's also a cute corner where to play retro arcade games. It's worth giving it a try during happy hour (5-8pm) when all cocktails are £7/each

A cosy and casual yet vibrant, through the gift shop feel to this Mexican themed cocktail bar. Friendly and very helpful staff making superb drink recommendations. Jen was excellent and I put my drinks fate firmly in her hands, barely making a choice myself which proved to be the best decision!! A must for tequila lovers and those that only know the spine shuddering salt and lime experience alike - even their house shot is smooth!

If you are not a tequila lover, do not worry there is a cocktail for everyone. Their menu offers many drinks. Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is a renowned and peculiar ancient pub nestled in stone caves. It boasts a charming and quirky interior, complete with resident ghosts. The pub provides delectable food options alongside its traditional ale, making it an enticing destination for visitors. Located in Nottinghamshire, England, this historic establishment holds the distinction of being one of the country's oldest public houses.
As good as it gets. An old fascinating and historical pub Built into the cliff side ,Great old architecture, lots of small rooms over two floors. With two outdoor areas. Very nice food and menu selection. Helpful and friendly staff. A must visit for all ,Ghosts Included.

Recommended by a friend in Ohio, and what a recommendation! I had lunch after touring Nottingham Castle, which I would recommend as Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is in a cave under the castle. Like all structures of this era, the ceilings are quite low and the stairs and rooms are quite twisty and full of surprises. The staff was so nice and efficient. I ordered at the bar downstairs and had my meal delivered to a table on the next floor (see video). I’ve taken many trips to the UK, and frequented many establishments with signs claiming the “world’s best fish and chips.”. The fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The chips were not greasy at all, and very flavorful. The highlight was the fresh peas! Bursting with flavor. I rate the fish and chips second only to the Mayfair Chippy in London, however, the ambiance and experience takes it over the top even if you’re only slopping by for a pint.

Visited for the first time for a Sunday roast. Best to go before 12.30pm so you can get a table and the Sunday roasts are still available. Ordered the beef roast and beef croquettes. Delicious and reasonably priced. Service was splendid. Inside the pub was literally still like a cave. I will definitely go back again.
K ( — Google review
After visiting the castle and surroundings places stoped here 1st just to take photos and check out the pub but ended up having late afternoon meal. The food was tasty and the atmosphere gives it a cosy and nice vibe. Best was seeing people talking and not with their faces glued to the phones. It's a little tight inside but that's what gives the pub a charm, combined with it beenig carved into the hillside. The staff was very nice, good service. The pub was clean and despite beeing full no bad smells inside. The bar offers a nice variety of drinks. Outside seating with plenty of tables and an inside smaller court. The outside seating comes in handy in warm sunny days to enjoy food and drinks with friends or family. There's on street paid parking next to the pub. Will be returning when visiting Nottingham again.
Daniel A — Google review
It was very easy to give this historical 12th century pub nestled into the caves of Nottingham Castle a maximum rating. I received very good bar service and a generous discount being a CAMRA member. The bartender was quite knowledgeable about local ales and some of the history of the pub; even the regular customer propping up the bar, was keen to chat about both subjects. I can imagine that as autumn becomes autumnal with howling winds, the cooler temperatures and the long nights, this pub will be a gem for supernatural thrill seekers. Will definitely return very soon!
Paul B — Google review
Well this really is a very special pub to visit. Its an absolute gem of a pub carved into the sand stone of Nottingham Castle. Its possibly the oldest pub in England but wasbis for sure is the warm welcome from the staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable of the ales and beers on offer. Lots of great seating inside and out and super fine ales. The beer choice really is very good. I look forward to coming back again soon.

Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem is a great little pub. It is partially underground set in a cave, so a very interesting setting. There is a really good menu catering for almost everyone. Vegetarian, and vegan options available, and for people with specific allergies. The food arrived promptly, and was delicious, as well as generous. Very friendly, and attentive staff behind the bar. Great range of beers and ales. Must go back as I only had two! The others look very inviting and attractive to lovers of Real Ales. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.

From the moment you walk in it feels like a special place, the secret entrance concept is awesome fun, although probably not if your stuck outside on a Saturday night! I just had an incredible meal with friends! The food was absolutely spot-on—from the Spicy Chicken to the Katsu Curry, everything was tasty and well-presented. Sarah's service was lovely, making our experience even better. The cocktails were a highlight too, especially the Eureka Moment, which was perfectly theatre-served. Can't wait to come back!

Me and my boyfriend and I recently visited The Alchemist in Nottingham and had a really enjoyable time. The interior is super stylish and atmospheric, with a cool vibe that adds to the whole experience. The toilets were surprisingly nice too — clean and well-kept, which is always appreciated. We tried a variety of small plates; the food was okay overall — decent, but nothing that particularly stood out. However, the drinks menu made up for it. There was a great choice of cocktails, and many of them were really creative and fun to try. The staff were lovely as well — really attentive and friendly throughout our visit, which made the evening even better. We didn't take many pictures. I would definitely return in the future.
Victoria A — Google review
Maybe dependent on time of visit. I was 4 30 to 5 30. Atmosphere was comfortable, not buzzing but we changed seats twice. High chairs- feet dangling was uncomfy. Some individual seats too low then and some parts of leather couch sunken in! Only 2 staff at bar and no one took away dirty empties quick enough. Toilets are away n far. Disabled a bit closer than the gents n ladies! Barman also counted money wrong and was gonna over charge us! Menu looked cool but no beaker available for my Light bulb-which was the main reason why I wanted to order it, as it was on the menu pic outside! No service, we had to collect our own drinks even though there was a wait. Sunday platter offer looked great but we weren't hungry. Not sure if i would return, esp during the day but think night time visit might be more fun???

I can't recommend this place enough! The food and drinks were absolutely spot on – everything from the Prawn Lollipops to the Lobster Mac was top-notch. Sarah, our server, was a gem, super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was just right, making it a perfect evening out. Can't wait to come back!
Kimberly S — Google review
I visited for a special occasion on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and while the staff were courteous enough, the service lacked warmth or attentiveness. Unfortunately, the food did little to elevate the experience. The lobster mac & cheese was passable, though hardly memorable, and the £30 steak arrived looking uninspired, offering neither flavour nor finesse to justify its price. The cookies, sadly, were stale and disappointing. The only true highlight of the meal was the churros. They were crispy, indulgent, and by far the most enjoyable part of an otherwise underwhelming dining experience.
Swapnali B — Google review
Bottomless brunch was good and lots of different fun cocktails included which was great. Service was slow even though we pre-booked however it was a Saturday so have to take that into consideration. Good value for money in my opinion as cocktails here are usually quite expensive by themselves and they were reallt stong. Oyster shots were something different that I've not seen before, would reccomend for girls night!
Tia — Google review
I was impressed with this Alchemist, particularly the architecture of the building and the sociable seating at the bar. Sitting at the bar suited me and the American tourists who i was chatting to about Nottingham and other tourist spots.
Paul B — Google review
Underwhelming to be honest. Staff were really relaxed and unprofessional. Upon arrival we had to go up to the bar to ask for a table because they were just distracted and chatting behind the bar. They all looked pretty young and this is probably their student job, but come on, I know it’s a Sunday and they probably wanted to go home, but that did make our experience worse. They took ages to come take our order, my boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask for someone to take our order and even so we were still told to wait. There were only a few tables with people only having drinks, and several members of staff floating about but none seemed to be available to take our order? Fajitas were ok, but nothing special. Chicken was a bit dry and the portion was quite small. There was barely no onions and peppers under the chicken, 🐓 and it was burnt and stuck to the hot plate. Had to scrape the burnt veg off to be able to eat it. And the bad customer service didn’t help. Also a side note, the music was quite loud and made it hard to talk.

Rock City is a renowned independent stage that has been showcasing up-and-coming bands since it opened in 1980. Over the years, it has hosted iconic acts like Duran Duran, The Smiths, Guns 'n' Roses, Nirvana, and many more. With two stages and multiple bars, the venue offers a fantastic live music experience. It recently won the Best Major Club award at the Live Music Business Awards 2019.
From American to the UK to follow a tour- this was my last show in Manchester. Not going to lie, it was very crammed and the place seemed to be falling apart and maybe a tid bit haunted BUT I hear tons of iconic artists have played here over the many many years and that made the experience even cooler. It did feel quite intimate which I loved personally. Security was on it too! The queue was well organized and there’s nice hotels to stay within short walking distance. Super freaking insane, I bloody LOVED it!

Great venue with great unobstructed views of the stage. Up close and personal. Friendly staff. Great location in the city with tram stops a short walk away. A premier inn is less than 5 minutes from the venue too which relieves the thought of having to drive home straight after the gig. We saw The Lathums supported by Arkala. Great gig, great venue.

Been to many gigs here and the layout is actually decent for a show. Quite a few big car parks near by, plenty of restaurants and bars for preshow. The view from most places in the venue is good too. Most recent was New Found Glory.

I’ve never felt so humiliated trying to go on a night out. I bought my ticket online for Rock City, showed up excited, and after showing my ID I was asked who I was with. When I said I came alone, the bouncers told me “no single males are allowed in tonight.” What makes this worse is that I know there are nights when single males are allowed in — and that same night, I saw British men walk in on their own with no issue. For me, as a Romanian, I was turned away. It felt like I was given an excuse, but the real reason was clear: I was treated differently because I am foreign. To pay for a ticket in good faith, only to be refused entry while others are let in, was humiliating and discriminatory. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s unfair and unacceptable. I left feeling embarrassed, angry, and unwelcome. Nobody should ever be treated like this. The big guy with tattooes and the one near him refused my entry.

First ever visit to Rock City the other week for WASP. What a venue! Love the fact that security just scanned everyone in quickly and left people to it, rather than getting all over involved like Showsec do at other venues. Parking so close, perfect! Will definitely be back!
C T — Google review
Good: The staff were great, really helpful in getting a seat side stage and helping me get in. A good view across the stage about 15-20 metres away. Acoustics ok for being side stage. Staff going round during the show to collect rubbish was something I have not seen in other venues. The room was free from the usual dropped plastic cups you see elsewhere. Top marks for that Bad: I needed a disabled parking space and the nearest I could find was a couple streets away. Walking into the venue, there were about 4 lots of stairs to get into the concert room. So not great on crutches. I tried phoning the venue 4 times on the day of the show to ask management about accessibility, no one answered nor returned a call even with 3 messages left. That was a bit rude... Ugly: The place looks like it could benefit from a lick of paint and a refurb. Just seems dated in places. Reminded me of old cinemas when I was a kid in the 90's. Overall: Worth 4 stars for the staff. But if you have a long drive to get there, especially if you have accessibility issues, plan ahead.

Great gig, queue before doors open was long but well organised and stewarded, the line for those who needed special assistance similarly seemed well organised. It went down very quickly when the doors opened as bags had been searched while in the queue by two very polite and courteous security guys. Went as a lone young woman and never felt afraid or unsafe- queue for the bars weren't long even between sets, the toilets were clean (cleaner than when I've been in on nights out!) but as they were busy did run out of loo roll so maybe stash a packet of tissues in your pocket. The gig was great, definitely busy but never felt crushed or overcrowded, and water was passed through the crowd when it began to get hot. The merch counter was also well staffed and everyone was very friendly. I've been on club nights also and definitely one of the best clubs I've been to, great place, even when it's rammed it never feels unsafe- with security and safety team in the bathrooms and checking on anyone who's been in a cubicle for a while. The drinks aren't too badly priced and you generally don't have to wait ages to order/get your drink. Tunes are amazing and one of my favourite places to be!
Alex C — Google review
Band was amazing (Spacey Jane) and the venue space was great. However, on this night the sound of the band was so quiet you could barely make out what he was singing or saying over the band, which was still fairly quiet for a concert. The volume of the support act had been perfect so it’s not a venue issue but me and my friend actually moved closer to the stage to see if it was just where we were (it wasn’t). Very disappointed in this as we spent money to hear the band and didn’t get the full experience.

Always great food with a great atmosphere here! So reasonably priced with very friendly staff and fast service. Would highly recommend!

Great service, brilliant drinks and unbeatable atmosphere. Happy hour prices have gone up to £6.50 but still better value than any other bar in city centre

🍻 Bunk – True to its name, an underground pub with a vibrant vibe! 📅 We visited in July during our pub-hopping adventure, and since the treat was on me, we went all out! 🎉 👥 With 20 of us taking over a long table (and a few more on smaller ones), we thought we had filled the pub only to realize there was still plenty of space for others. A perfect spot for big groups. 🍹 The counter was kept busy all night with rounds of cocktails and beers, while 🎶 the lively music kept the energy high. 📸 Of course, our never-ending photo sessions made the evening even more memorable. ✨ Overall, it turned out to be one of the best evenings to remember. Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a party with a big group great drinks, great music, and plenty of space! 🥳🥂

Decent chicken wing restaurant in city centre with a romantic feel. Limited choice on menu focusing mainly on chicken wings with lots of different seasoning and sauce options. Wings with Teriyaki sauce were very tasty however disappointed that the boneless wings were actually chicken strips and not de-boned wings. However to be fair it does say on the menu they are ‘Southern Fried’. Would of rated higher however table was sticky with food residue, no one checked in with me to see how my food was and also no hand paper towels by the communal wash basin.

Very good for a night out. Great place to get a quick bite to eat with a large choice of house drinks that are a great price - especially before 10. Would recommend the refresher if you like sweet drinks.

If you are searching for chicken wings in Nottingham, then Bunk at Lace market might well be for you! You can get a myriad of sauces with your wings and they also have a great selection of cocktails which is their other signature item. Be prepared for lots of students!

What a refreshing change. 1/2 price wings until 10pm every night (Jan 2017). Lovely atmosphere, friendly bar staff. Not a great beer selection, it's all very 'boutique', but of you like that, there are lots of choices to drink something you've never heard of. Worth a visit.

I've been a few times before, however, this was the best. The music was good. The food was superb and plentiful. The service was amazing. The guy was very patient with me, I'd already had a few drinks...he made ordering easy and I felt as though I wasn't a burden. Thanks again guys see you again soon.

Amazing classic british pub that I found in this city. The interior was so unique like a concert hall. They also have a stage in the middle maybe for a live music performance. I tried sunday roast here and was very affordable and quite tasty for me. The price is reasonably good and the waiter was so friendly. They dont have table service so you must find a table first and then go to the counter to book and remember your table.

Such a cute pub no idea why I have never been in. Their pie was really good and not awfully priced. Pub quiz was mint would have come first if we didn’t have 7 on our team. Also downside is that it was boiling upstairs I felt like I was in a greenhouse. Will be back when it is cooler and I am not gonna melt

A lovely space just off the main square, great for a quick drink or a longer stay. The bar staff were friendly and the drinks and coffees we ordered were spot on. We didn’t order food but it looked equally as good. There’s plenty of seating options from small tables to larger areas. There was a small games library which was nice to see.

What a hidden gem. Went on a stag party and stumbled on downstairs at this place. The German music and "follow the leader" style songs were great. Made to feel welcome. The food was beyond awesome! These guys import some of the best produce and it shows! My time here was great. I met the owner who is extremely chilled and a great host. I felt very welcome within minutes. Shortly after arriving an aspiring magician performed some amazing tricks and made the wait for food pass by in moments. They do have a great selection of rhum and the staff is friendly. One little thing that bothered me is that they kept changing the music in the middle of songs. It kind of killed the vibe when they put the same spice girls song on 3 times in a row.

My husband and I visited from Somerset and booked a table for brunch for my birthday, we were slightly skeptical when they had called us at 10pm and 5/6am to tell us they had to push the booking back a few hours. When we turned up and realized 1 man had been left to cook pizzas, make cocktails and do table service all on his own, coming from a hospitality background, we could completely empathize. This man deserves a medal. 5 stars simply because of the manager Rob. After clearly experiencing a staffing problem he ran that place single handedly when most places would have closed. I can not compliment this lovely Geordie man enough, I hope that they finally find the right bar team to back him up because he's a legend. Stuff happens, nothings ever perfect but how Rob dealt with the situation earns him 5 stars.

Terrible service. Originally booked for 8pm and was a few days before to be told that it "shouldn't have been possible" on their system, and that we were being moved to 9pm. On entering could see that the venue was reasonably busy, so ordered 2 drinks each. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and we were only given 1 each. Waitress said that they were on the way but they did not come. Ordered a second round of drinks that were also never delivered before our reservation was over. Was told that we would not receive any of our deposit refunded even though we were there for over an hour and were only served 1 drink despite ordering many. When complaining on the night the staff seemed confused saying that they did had not been busy and admitted that the were in the wrong, despite this they refused to provide any compensation. Additionally they charged us £68 for a two person reservation, when they advertised it as £30 per person. Some bars have re-opened and made the best of a bad situation - this one has not. Best stay away, we lost £50 to this con.

The fun Gothic interior is why I popped in with an old friend to grab a beer and hang out for a while. I wasn’t overwhelmed with the choice of ales, but what I had was unfamiliar and not horrible! I’d have preferred something like a Guinness as a decent standard. Anyway we sat downstairs and my friend enjoyed the bookcase toilet door, still looks and works well. It was a flying visit so I’d probably have found a better beer if I’d looked harder. Overall definitely worth popping in for one, especially if you’re in a group and like something out of the ordinary.

I love music, but I don't necessarily go to see the big big bands play. I like discovering new bands that have a small following where it is easy to meet the band after. I have had some amazing experiences here, although with my anxiety I normally mix my word and make a fool of myself often but I have never felt uncomfortable doing so here. Again with my anxiety I don't like big crowds of people around me but with this venue I have been able to get in early enough to be at the front of the que. Unless the bands have VIP access which always go through first I would always find myself at the front. This helps so I only focus on the band in front and not the fact that there's a lot of people behind me. The staff are friendly, they have a selection of alcohol free drinks but they don't do food. Not even crisps but they don't mind if you nip to the shop and bring food into the patio area.

The Canalhouse is a charming waterside pub located in a former canal museum, known for its unique feature of having a canal extending inside the Grade II listed building with resident narrow boats. The pub offers a wide selection of real ales and international beers, along with unfussy food that ranges from pub classics to delectable desserts.
One of the unique pubs I’ve been to and it has a lot of space. With the canal in built to the venue, it adds up a pleasant vibe. Also, a great selection of beers and the staff is friendly. Ideal to bar hop as there are a few other pubs close by.
Thinasha M — Google review
Dropped in for the last pint of the night (Tuesday) here... so very quiet and no food required. The real ale was just right and there was a reasonable selection and under £5 a pint. What drew me here, however was the unusual building - as the name implies, the heritage attached to the pub centres on it's past and the centrepiece being a narrow boat floating in a dock and a bridge across to reach the bar. Very spacious with the toilets on upper levels. I found the staff welcoming and knowledgeable. The lighting was a tad bright but this may have been to encourage final drinkers out!
Graham H — Google review
I didn't try the food here but I was there for the water front festival. The only negative thing to say is that my disabled friends couldn't gain proper safe access as not only was the place so packed full of people but not of the stages blocked the lift that would provide access to the upper floor stage. They went home disappointed which was a shame. However the atmosphere was electric, the bands put on a great show although times ran over so much I had to miss my friends band play. Service was okay but as they were so busy I can't comment on how they would be in normal circumstances. The place is beautiful though, they have taken great care to create something special here. I enjoyed my day and evening.

Hi to the owner of the canal house. I like the atmosphere, beer and service from the staff so much here, but my only complaint is the female toilet. The water in the sink is like dripping miracle water in a desert. It would be nice if it you could fix it :)

We recently chose to have our wedding reception at The Canalhouse in Nottingham, and it was the best decision we could have made. Amy, the Events Manager, and her amazing team went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. From our very first meeting, Amy was warm, welcoming, and incredibly organised. She put us at ease straight away and made sure every detail was thought through. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her…she even met with our DJs ahead of time to coordinate the evening plans and timings! We brought in our own decorations and shared our vision for the day, and Amy and her team quite literally brought our dream to life. Walking into the room as husband and wife and seeing it all come together for the first time was magical. The food was exceptional…it arrived on time, tasted amazing, and catered perfectly for guests with allergies and special requests. We received so many compliments on how efficient, friendly, and attentive the staff were throughout the day. Honestly, our wedding wouldn’t have been as perfect without Amy. She and her team absolutely smashed it out of the park. We can’t thank them enough for the care, effort, and attention to detail they put into everything. If you’re thinking of hosting a celebration at The Canalhouse then DO IT!! You’ll be in the best hands. Amy, we appreciate you so much. Thank you again for making our day so special. ❤️ Amy & Mitch 18.10.25

We had a Sunday roast which was amazing. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the beers are fantastic. Would love to see this place on a Friday or Saturday night. Will be coming back to Nottingham just to see.

Classic Pub. Billed as one of the oldest in the country. Might be, because the interior especially the snugs look right from the 1200s. Place just feels historical. Good pint, good selection of spirits. Possibly some actual spirits.

Lovely pub. Good atmosphere and great food. The burgers are good, especially the monster one. Great value at £6.66, but be warned bring your appetite it's massive.

Great place, friendly and approachable staff, well priced food with good portions and completely unpretentious. Excellent music playlist, what more could you want?

There is a cave with a well under this Inn that we went too with our ghost tour, it was an eary place and when we went back up and popped in at the bar they had all these never seen before beers with interesting names and their decor was just as eary and ghostly. We had some beers and just checked out all the cool decor. The beer was cold, the atmosphere was great and fun, the service was excelent and when you order a beer it comes in a glass with the beers name on it. This was a really fun place to visit and have some drinks, go on spoil yourself, go there, you deserve it!!!! Mabe you will see a ghost, wouldnt that be spectacular.

Me and my two friends came here at the end of our "Soccer Saturday challenge" We weren't disappointed, the staff were amazing, the vibes were brilliant and Solar behind the bar was an absolute star. I don't visit Nottingham often but I'll be certain to be back, this place caters for everyone and no-one is exempt. A fantastic venue. Thank you for a brilliant Saturday night

Very cool Pub said to be the oldest in England. Reasonable prices considering location and what they probably could charge being attached to a major tourist attraction. Great selection of beer and very cool to see it carved into the side of the mountain that Nottingham castle sits on.

At last, a review site worthy of my attention. My mother and I had an excellent Sunday dinner here on 08/06/25. The food was really very good. Tasty with very generous portions. The price is inconsequential when the food is this good. Well done team.

Junkyard Bottle Shop & Pour House is a hidden gem located on Bridlesmith Walk in Nottingham, offering an impressive selection of craft beers from various breweries. The laid-back taproom and shop provide a casual atmosphere to enjoy the wide-ranging craft beers on tap.
Really cool place, great selection of, mainly Belgian, beers, lambics and ciders. Delicious food menu, the handheld section is especially good value for money. Lots of seating, outside, inside and upstairs.

Love Junkyard, being a regular spot we visit for beer. Visited 3rd Jan and decided to have some food there for the first time. Big mistake! We ordered a few small plates, but they forgot the chicken wings. We said we still wanted the wings so they cooked them and brought them out. They must have rushed them, as they were still raw in places! I know meat on the bone can be pink the closer to the bone it is, but there were bloody in places! Thankfully we noticed, spat out the first mouthful and left them. They didn’t smell good either!
Hannah — Google review
Terrific, hidden gem of a craft beer bar. Carefully curated tap selection and a vast array of options in cans and bottles. Interior is tastefully minimalist. Friendly staff as well!
Sascha A — Google review
Easily one of the best places to drink in Nottingham city centre. Always a great range of beers on tap (at least 15) plus very well stocked fridges with some great beers from smaller breweries across Europe and beyond. Very friendly service from all staff who know their beers and happy to offer advice and a small taste before you order. Food is great and goes well with the drinks. Outside seating areas (front and rear) for warmer weather and a great atmosphere inside. Definitely worth visiting!

Great selection of Keg Beer and super friendly staff definitely worth a visit.

Update: stopped for a quick bite and a beer. We had 3 starters, the lamb kofta, artichoke and halloumi. All were delicious and what trio of food, I recommend trying all three together. I have upped the star rating to 5 now, as the food was delicious and the staff were great. Previous review: Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.

Nice selection of craft beer and cocktails. Outdoor seating links through to Kilpin Beer Cafe.

Was recommended this place by a friend. A great shout. Great atmosphere tucked away in a little nook. Its through a small alley so you might have to pay close attention when finding it. Note for cider drinkers: They sell some in cans, but they have no cider options on tap, HOWEVER they do have fruity sours on tap which I'd say are even better. If you're a cider drinker like me and haven't tried a fruity sour before, go on, get one ere, I bet youll like it. Phwoar

Brewery
Located in the heart of Hockley, The Angel Microbrewery is not just a pub but also a historical landmark dating back to the 1600s. This lively venue has seen it all, from being a brothel to housing a chapel before transforming into its current form. It's known for its raucous live shows and has even hosted early performances by bands like Arctic Monkeys.
Our first time visiting this establishment, we travelled to see Dunes, an excellent band from Newcastle. We enjoyed our food, there's a great selection of craft ales available and all the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The old chapel upstairs is where the bands play, it's a truly beautiful building and full credit to the sound engineer, the sound was excellent. We will definitely revisit and if you love live music, it's a hidden gem!

Really great building lot's of seating, friendly staff and even manage to meet the brewer who was super friendly. Definitely a place to visit.

I hadn’t been here in years, but stopped by for a quick lunch and decided to check out the menu. I went with the tempeh sandwich, which arrived promptly. The portion was a decent size and the sandwich was quite tasty, though I would’ve preferred better quality bread personally. 3.5 ⭐️

Our first visit for a gig, and what a fabulous place! The building itself is a wonderful rabbit warren full of history, and the Chapel venue upstairs is superb. The sound is 👌 with the sound engineer commanding from the pulpit 🙏 We ate before the gig, and both had the Buffalo Chicken burger, which was excellent, so tasty 😋 There is an amazing selection of 🍻 as to be expected. All the staff were friendly and there was a great atmosphere.

Fantastic to see great effort put I to the vegetarian and vegan options. So much choice, seitan on the menu too which was nice to see I like mine a little tougher so might have needed some battering before the first boil, but I was absolutely thrilled to be able to order it. It was good. The veg was lovely and so was the Yorkie and gravy. Toilets are frankly the worst I've seen in some time. Hot tap completely destroyed, facilities a bit rank to be honest. Service was generally okay, first chap we said hello to was really nice, fella who brought our food order was decent too. Bar staff were unengaged and didn't really seem to care about anything but the basics of why they were there which is a shame. It didn't feel very welcoming. DJ was a nice touch, the soul and soft disco played was really nice. Sort the toilets and the customer experience side of things and this place would be incredible.

Great pub with good food on a Sunday! There was a group playing Irish music which was really nice. After drinking a few pints next to the bar, we moved to another area to sit down for the Sunday roast. It was delicious.

Best pub in Nottingham City centre providing great beer's brewed on the premises, excellent unfussy food & the best mix tape around. The angel has a very eclectic mix of customers adding to its appeal & the staff are superb Well worth finding out & enjoying Easy 5 stars
Stevie B — Google review
Always love a visit to The Angel - great old fashioned atmosphere! However I’ve knocked a star off for what is (for me personally) a terrible beer selection. I always struggle to find a decent pint here; yesterday I counted on the boards 12 IPA type ales, along with 1 stout, several lagers & ciders and not one bitter. Why do pubs today assume that everyone wants IPA? All I want is a smooth, drinkable bitter like Landlord, Abbott, Old Pecular.

Fantastic traditional pub with great selection of drinks, friendly bar staff, outdoor seating and chill out areas. A place with an impressive selection of gins, lagers, ales etc. Different places to sit in. Thankfully lacking university students. Our drinks bill came to £30. This would have been nearer to £120 in my home town. Definately worth visiting. Food menu looks great but didn't eat. Lovely atmosphere and great bar staff. Nice to see this place still have jugs for ale.

Was quite quiet when we went in, however the service was fast and they brought our drinks to the table. There are also plenty of board games to play which are free. Not too expensive for a pint. Dog friendly too.

The music is too loud, there was no band or singer on so it was just background music it was so loud you had to shout to hear a person next to youi do not have a problem with loud music by when you go to a pub you expect to be able to hold a conversation. The music was a level you would expect at a night club no a pub.

Perfect place for a relaxing drink after work especially if you work in hospitality! It's open late but keeps the calm vibe, and the staff are all so lovely. The prices are reasonable and you can get such a variety of cocktails, if they have the ingredients they're more than happy to accommodate specific drink requests.

A decent range of drinks, with the cocktails being the standout item for me. £5 for good quality cocktails! I had the Espresso Martini, Wrong Island and my favourite the Amaretto Sour. All enjoyable and as good as cocktails twice the price. It's a pleasant place, done out to a high standard. Candles on the tables were a nice touch. It all felt clean and the toilets were immaculate. Lovely little pub mainly selling Blue Monkey beers (others available). Beer was super fresh. The cinder toffee stout is basically liquidised Crunchies and is an amazing dessert beer. Matt and the team are great at making you feel relaxed and are knowledgeable about the drinks and snacks available (The Pork Scratchings with the Chocolate Stout Jam were a revelation 🔥). For more substantial food, Lauren and Adam (formerly of The Wing Waggon) are really passionate and friendly about food and service and their sliders, fries and slaw are spot on at wallet friendly prices. Visited the OG in Nottingham for the first time. (We usually use the Loughborough one) A bit out of the way to find but worth the uphill walk from town. been a few times. got very badly spiked there - ended up in hospital and police reported and said there was another police report from that night for another spiking. charges for spiking got dropped as ‘not enough evidence’. seeing the photos and videos of me (i have no memory obviously) i was very clearly spiked but bouncers turned a blind eye. staff are quite poor and defo gets oversold and too crowded on some nights. the average scene of it is rough and not somewhere i would voluntarily go to now. since being spiked i’ve only ever been back to certain event nights and have mostly enjoyed but had to have such a high guard up which hasn’t been great. not somewhere i would recommend just for a club night out. drinks are expensive too.
Enji E — Google review
So I have been to stealth a fair few times as they regularly have a good DJs on that I’m a fan of, atmosphere usually good for these events. Drinks a little expensive but it’s a club so it’s expected. Anyway I went out for NYE and I went straight to the bar to get a drink (single disarano and coke) in a small cup - I put my card to the machine but the price was still loading. It went through at £12 and I was thinking that’s bloody expensive for a tiny single drink. So I checked Apple Pay to make sure it was £12 and it was so I asked the bartender and she said it should’ve been £5.50. And I said okay, but it was £12 (showed the charge on Apple Pay and explained it was £12 on the machine). She asked if I wanted another drink or a refund to which I’d have to come back later for, but at that point I wanted a refund because her attitude was not on. She then proceeded to roll her eyes at me and said “are you joking, fine I’ll get my manager”. Her manager comes and shows me the receipt as 5.50 on the machine, which I say fair enough but it was £12 on my Apple Pay and on the machine which I saw (customer is right should apply here and I know this as I work in retail), I was also very pleasant in speaking to them. I also add on that it’s quite hard to input £12 instead of £5.50 which makes me think that she did this on purpose. But the manager was a bit nicer and refunds me, but I didn’t know if it’ll be £12 or £5.50 refund, she didn’t know either (ended up being £4.90) so she charged me again so I basically lost £7.10. Overall I was treated like crap and didn’t even get a full refund so I can’t recommend the place for other than the DJs

Should I join tonight? Solo! I look NO trouble! Is this the club whose making my style engaged for the "BEAT\(^^)/(^q^) ??? <3
Andrei G — Google review
I paid £5 at the door on a Saturday night to get into this club. I hadn’t even ordered a drink yet and i was only on my first drink of the night so still very much sober. When i went up to the bar after being in there for only about 5 minutes, two bouncers (a woman and a man) proceeded to tell me i was too drunk and that i had to leave. They had apparently spotted me on the dance floor and i was swerving. I absolutely wasn’t, again i was very much sober and there were plenty of people around who were in fact very drunk. Besides even if i was a little drunk isn’t that what people do when they go out? Anyway would not recommend and i won’t be going back.
Isobel B — Google review
An absolute joke , had a friend thrown out for "being too drunk' when they got knocked into by a security guard trying to get past. despite having been only in for less than 10 minutes nope didn't matter ' he was wobbling about drunk" even though the guards knocked into him, yet the people doing powder off of their keys literally almost Infront of them remain unbothered and happy . 1/10 , alright music , had to purchase entry ticket twice.
Nahum B — Google review
My friend was charged twice for a drink and when we asked the bartender about this she tried to get me kicked out. The security were then very handsy and I had to tell them numerous times to stop touching me and eventually they did. I managed to convince them to let me stay but when we told the incident to another bartender to sort it they got me kicked out again. I spoke to the security and the front about the other security inappropriately touching me and it as extremely triggering for me, they said it happens all the time… That’s not exactly what you want to hear. They also told my boyfriend to “control your girl” which is completely outrageous. Definitely don’t come here!
Grace F — Google review
Heard bad things about this place but went in on Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised. Good vibes, staff in the venue all very friendly and was a good night out. In particular I had concerns about the security but they were all professional and had a laugh with customers. There were two security at the front, didn't get their names but they were great and the bouncer in the RnB room Nathan was helpful and assured me we were safe at the venue when I mentioned I was put off coming and we had a great night. Cheap drinks too so good for students.

She applied excellent service. From the moment to our arrival we were graced with the most top tier of service. Our drinks order was taken with precision and accuracy whilst offering recommendations. Said drinks were supplied promptly with a positive can do attitude and placed on the table carefully to avoid spillage. To pay for this service, we alerted the attention of this delightful server who came within quick succession to provide a bill of sale along with the opportunity to earn a free 25ml drink also known as a “shot”. The staff was really lovely Drinks were great however would not recommend the food. It took half an hour to come even though it wasn’t busy and for £13 total the tenders being £7.50 alone for only 3 dry chewy tenders is shocking! 🎉 Another birthday weekend, another pub adventure! This time we chose Revolution, and it didn’t disappoint. 🍹✨ We were a group of 15 men and women and walked in around 7 pm—the crowd hadn’t filled in yet, which gave us plenty of space to settle in. We grabbed our drinks 🍸🍺 and were soon singing along to fantastic live 80’s & 90’s music 🎶💃. Food: Me and the wife Ordered 2 chicken burgers called ‘Winner Winner’, it was quite dry, the burger came out with two chicken tender strips that didn’t taste fresh however fries and tater tots were nice, I would class 2 Tenders as a burger, this is something i expect from Wetherspoons, not an establishment like this. Service: took 40 minutes for 2 burgers (4 tenders), people who came after us got their food before us. Atmosphere: bad music.

Attended for a cocktail making course, service from scarlet was fantastic, as a rowdy bunch she kept us on task, was flexible and facilitated a major highlight of our evening. She had some fun ideas for when we were flagging that brought energy back into the room. Overall a top bartender/host who was happy to talk about her job and booze all night. Would recommend the class and just have a bit if fun with it.

Missed opportunities to be so much better. We dropped in around 5pm on a Friday for drinks and some chips. Considering the very low volume of people inside, service was incredibly slow and items not cleared quickly from other tables. The chips (the few served) were cooked well and the drinks, once we found them waiting in the bar were also nice and cool. There is a clear lacking in leadership and ownership of doing the basic’s right.

Nestled in a cozy spot, The Barrel Drop is a charming hideaway with a welcoming atmosphere. This Nottingham gem offers an array of craft beer, cask ales, and gin for visitors to enjoy while engaging in some friendly competition with the various board games available. Despite its small size and discreet location on Hurts Yard, this micro pub is highly recommended for those seeking an authentic ale-drinking experience.
Lovely little craft beer place tucked away in the city centre. Well worth seeking out. Great choice of cask and keg beers from local and top brewers.

We paaed this hidden-away gem on our route to a restaurant & returned for a beer. Totally lovely, with a fine choice of both proper beers & the trendy Kraft stuff. Quiz night while we were there; I wish we had eaten earlier & spent more time in the Barrel Drop!

Terrific selection of craft brews in a charming setting. Comfortable and cosy. We were just in Nottingham for a night and en route to see a band, so our stop was too short. We will definitely return on our next visit. I had the Gelato and it was deceptively smooth and far too yummy. It's a place I could definitely spend a few hours to chill.

I've been on a few times but only visited it in passing. I keep meaning to have a proper session there soon. It's quite a all pub and it's hidden away in a narrow alley right in the centre of Nottingham which makes it tricky to find but it's always well worth it. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and always a great selection of well kept beers.

Visited for my birthday, despite only being a small place they were able to accommodate a group of 8 of us. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and board games made it a great place to spend an afternoon. Even if the beers aren’t your thing, they have a great range of soft and hot drinks. Highly recommend!

I would have given more - we always come in when we go to Nottingham. The beer selection is great and love the atmosphere- the staff are friendly However, now there is a sitting and standing toilet- no toilet facilities specifically for women, we sadly, won't be back. I went to the loo but quickly had to leave as it had been used by a chap before me who had clearly had a poo. I understand when you have to go, you have to go. Sadly there is a distinct difference with most men and most women's toilets habits. If they made the men's into a cubicle with a toilet as opposed to a urinal only, this would be preferable. I wonder what men who needed a poo did- before they were allowed access to the ladies? I'm probably going to get slated for this review but it is an honest one.

Fantastic micropub located in a upcoming and trendy area of the city centre. Excellent choice of beers and ciders you can drink in a great atmosphere.

Cocktail bar
Cucamara is a vibrant and compact bar located in the heart of Nottingham, offering a lively atmosphere and a wide range of drinks at reasonable prices. Known for its infamous leg wobbler cocktail and double shots of premium gold tequila, this no-frills bar has become a staple in Nottingham's nightlife scene. With its relaxed environment and lack of strict dress code, it's particularly popular among the city's large student population.
This experience was 5 stars. Purely due to the bouncer ASHER who made sure to accommodate to everyone and was really good at security and his job. He makes this venue amazing. I really can’t commend him enough. BLUE the bartender was also amazing and his service was impeccable. He was so efficient and he served all customers with the utmost care. Employees like this make an establishment work and the music was amazing. I cannot recommend this club enough.
Milli S — Google review
Incredibly rude staff. I asked the older male bartender with glasses who I believe is also the manager for water and then he throws me out of the bar accusing me of being rude and too drunk despite being polite and respectful and being entirely sober as I do not drink. I was allowed back in after a few minutes and so I tried to ask a different bartender for water and then the rude bartender came over again and yelled at me and accused of being on drugs (which I have never touched in my life) and thrown out again for no reason. I have never been treated so horribly by staff the bouncer dragged me out after doing nothing and refused to even listen to when I tried to explain. Also, despite the bartender thinking I was high and/or drunk, they still threw me out by myself onto the street in the middle of the night which, especially as a women, I think is extremely irresponsible and dangerous.

This is the place to unleash the wild side in you 🎉🔥! Our group was on a pub-to-pub crawl 🍻, and Cucamara was the next spot. We walked and walked, and almost missed it — tucked away down a little lane 🚶‍♂️➡️🍹. As we stepped inside, the DJ was already spinning 🎧🎶. We grabbed our beers 🍺, hit the dance floor 💃🕺, and before long the crowd started pouring in until the place was packed 🤩🙌. Cucamara is perfect for youngsters (and the young at heart 😉) who just want to dance the night away 💥✨. We felt like next-gen partygoers, enjoying every bit of our time there 🥳. 🌟 Highly recommended if you want to dance your night out! 🌟

The bouncer here is actually so lovely, the other staff embarrassment, after having my ID checked i get to the door and this soulless man stood there holding a card reader and faces it towards me, no hi, no ‘its £5 entry fee please’ just stood there looking at me. £5 entry fee is cheeky mind you when you sell watered down cocktails and i have better music on my mums gym playlist. Oh and i got a charge-back on the entry fee. You cant charge £5 entry fee and then act goofy selling watered down drinks xx Jäger bomb lady doesn’t even work there anymore, you can tell she was the only one keeping the joint together.

Avoid! Older Male barman (the manager) an extremely aggressive nasty man! He was more than happy to take my money then suddenly refuse us the serving of our drinks as my friend didn’t say ‘please’!! Upon speaking to friends/family this is not the first time a complaint has been made about this particular man (the manager). This is not the place for girls, I was made to feel very uncomfortable by this strange man who proceeded to call me names as I was walking away. Very Odd experience…very odd man!

i’d avoid going here at all costs I visited this bar for the first time the other night after a show at The Level. I bought a drink (£6) and while chatting to the bartender (just asking where was good to go out afterwards, as my friend and I aren’t from Nottingham), another member of staff suddenly took my drink away and had me escorted out. I wasn’t being rude or disruptive at all, so I was confused and embarrassed to be treated this way — especially as I’d just paid for a drink I never even got to touch. It left a really negative impression, which is a shame as we were hoping to enjoy our first night out in Nottingham. Upon reading reviews people have had the same issues with the same bartender. DONT GO HERE!
Ell — Google review
So unbelievably overrated. Went tonight and after thinking it was okay after previous visits, it confirmed what I thought. 10 quid entry- joke, you’re a bar not a club and you haven’t got any reason to be charging that much. Overcrowded on their bedroom sized dance floor, you’d think their drinks might be cheaper because you pay to get in. Wrong they’re still expensive. I literally walked in and straight out after being robbed of my money, avoid at all costs there are way better bars in notts.

Service isn’t great however the drinks are cheap and the music is always good. Places to sit and drink as well as a dance floor.

Was here for a music night, the atmosphere was brilliant with bar staff being super friendly, Connor was especially awesome when it came to an individual spilling my drink and sourcing me a new one. Would definitely recommend to everyone, great vibes and customer service.

I've attended the 'spoiler room' party last night. It was our first time in this bar and we were beyond excited for the night with quite high expectations. I chose to go here with my friend choosing this event over a million happening in town as the advertising showed what it seemed to be an amazing spacious TERRACE party with a good dj and everything else. We spent over 60 pounds in total with my friends to get in which was more expensive than other events but we thought it was worth it. The space was as big as my kitchen with uneven flooring and everywhere you'd stand you're basically on the way of a door to enter the bar or this small party area. We only had one drink which was fairly expensive for what it was but that's what it is I don't do the prices. The party was nothing like what it's been advertised and I wish I picked another one, we have wasted our money, left after having the first drink. The venue needs to make sure they declare the venue is contained so people know.

Absolutely LOVE this place, there is no better music around in Nottingham. If you’re House lover then this is the right place for you the only minus is the space which is a little annoying, it’s not very spacious and it gets really full, but great vibes! I booked a cocktail masterclass for my birthday and it was amazing. The venue is lovely and has a great atmosphere. Jack was excellent, very knowledge about all the drinks and explained how to make the drinks in detail. The cocktails are very good and it was such great value for the number of drinks we made. I would recommend Calluna and we can't wait to go back!

Came for a few drinks and loved it. The hostess Ella was amazing and super helpful throughout the night. Told us about all of the drinks and what they contained and was amazing at customer service. The drinks were lovely and was so nice to try drinks that were different to the regular drinks other bars serve. Will definitely be returning soon!!!!

Annie's Burger Shack, located in the Lace Market, offers a diverse menu of 30 types of burgers made with locally sourced beef, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant is housed within a real ale pub and is known for its themed quiz nights, making it a great spot for a relaxed evening with friends. One of their popular offerings is the Sunday Dinner Burger, which features homemade Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball, mini roasties, and gravy.
What a great place to drop in to after a hard day shopping in Notts. The food was lovely, fresh, and tasty. One little thing, my burger could have been a little hotter and melted the cheese as it felt a little cold. But overall chips and onion rings spot on, and the other meals were perfect. The drinks were spot on homemade lemonade, and will return soon.
Alan R — Google review
Annie's was a very nice experience, the food was outstanding I thought and they had a fantastic selection of beers available. The menu was well laid out but could get a little confusing with probably a few too many items, if they were to cut this down a few I think it would be beneficial. The restaurant is hard to find, but I think that adds to the experience.
Grant O — Google review
Edit review to 1 star for them jumping ship and not informing staff. Annie's Burger shack has been a place I've visited only a handful of times and the experience always seems to differ between good and... Meh. On the day we visited, we were quickly seated and our order for drinks was taken. My partner had ordered a milkshake as she was intrigued by their Reese's one with getting myself a root beer. Once the order for the milkshake was taken, the server approached the kitchen window which was right behind us and asked them if they could make the milkshake for her which received the response of them stating 'they couldn't be bothered' but they'd do it for her. My root beer came promptly and the milkshake took some time to arrive, probably 10 minutes before the food itself and for £10 was underwhelming. The Reese's peanut butter taste was barely present and it merely came across as a glorified vanilla milkshake. When ordering our food, the server asked me which type of fries I'd like and whilst attempting to locate them on the menu, I asked her 'what are the options?', rather than tell them to me, she moved the menu to the appropriate page and pointed to them, declaring that 'they are listed here' in a snappy tone. Once our food arrived the fries were hot and crispy and the burgers stacked high. The burgers during this visit felt a little overcooked compared to previous visits and a little dry unfortunately. I added a side of Frank's and beans which has decreased In quality since the last time I had them, with a few pieces of sausage and clearly microwaved beans. It's unfortunate this visit was not as good in comparison to previous visits. I would recommend Annie's Burger Shack for their variety, atmosphere and selection... Visiting results may vary.

A great place for burgers. There's 30+ different burger options, plus a couple of different hotdogs to choose from, so you'll probably find something you haven't tried before. We've had both beef and chicken burgers from here before, and they've been delicious. They had a good range of beers as well, with craft beers from Brixton, Camden and Goose Island, plus several lager options. The milkshakes are also quite special, with the option to add alcohol to it to add another flavour (we tried the Nutella chocolate milkshake which Cointreau is added to).
James G — Google review
Absolutely LOVEEEE this place and the new menu is banging!! You can go vegan, veggie or meaty on any of their burger choices. Although making that choice isn’t easy, they all sound unreal. I’ve been a fan of Annie’s for years and getting to meet her properly last night was so much fun, she’s so lovely. I’ve never ever been disappointed when visiting here, and the new burgers are sooooooooo bloody good . Highly recommend getting the Texas bbq rib and the poutine fries!!

Absolutely love this place! Have been twice now and both times were amazing. Excellent food quality, lovely cocktails and soft drinks, friendly staff, great environment. The massive range of burgers on the menu means there's something for everyone. Would definitely go again!

Just ordered delivery. New England dipper burgers both missing dipping sauce. Vegan burger is appalling version just two slices of packet beef sandwich slices. Meaty burger is all fat not brisket. Burgers are absolutely not as advertised. Wedges are undercooked. Onion rings order is literally two single onion rings. This was ridiculously expensive (£38~) for what is very poor quality and missing items. Annie's has never been Old Angel / The Nav quality since then but I had hope w seeing constant comments of how the burgers etc had changed w the new menu but I'm really disappointed.

Had the Salsa lesson - which was excellent! And hour of learning and dancing fun before drinks and dinner. The bar drinks were slow, as the bar is massive and only two staff working. I found the drinks to be a lot of ice and condiments and not much substance. The food (buffet tapas style) arrived in good time and was delicious all round! On the whole would be happy to return for the atmosphere, dancing and food.

Very cozy, i was craving for cream Catalina, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. I ordered also the Sweet & Sticky PX Beef both was absolutely delicious! The beef was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a rich, balanced sweet and spicy flavor.

We came on a Sunday with friends and went for the Menu del Dia which was a served dish style tapas. Consisting of Catalan Bread (ok) Spanish Olives, Cod Taco's (good), Teriyaki Pork Belly (very good), Sweet Crispy Beef (very good) Lamb Flatbread (very good). Our friends had other dishes including Crispy Squid (ok). Overall very well cooked tapas dishes, staff were very nice, the place was lacking that Spanish buzz at 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon as we were sat in the rear of the restaurant.

Came for tapas; crispy squid, Spanish hot flatbread, meatballs. All reasonably priced, squid was slightly tough but batter was lovely and light and was overall fab. Flat bread was perfect and so delicious, meatballs were also spot on. Sangria passion fruit and mango was also great. Good vibe with plenty of tables and service was really good with polite staff. Mix up on the reciept but was easily sorted. Booked the tables so no wait required. Would recommend!

Our party comprised of 3 couples with each couple having the set menu (Del Dias). This occasion was for both my husband and my retirement and we had been here before. In our party one couple had their complete meal (except the spicy beef) within 40 minutes, the second couple were still waiting for 3 dishes including the spicy beaf by 50 minutes and we (being the third couple) had only had olives, tomato bread and cauliflower by 1 hour 15 minutes. Staff kept saying that they were waiting to complete “the tables” order and would we like more drinks. No. Just food. I went to the bar to enquire about or order twice. Eventually after an hour two portions of beef arrived, but did not get delivered to us (couple 3). We asked again where our order was and got delivered just the sauce that should have been with the beef. No beef though. After another 15 minutes we (couple 3) finally got our meal, but we were beyond enjoyment. Our party were offered drinks, but none came for couple number 3. There’s a theme here. To say that we were disappointed and felt totally overlooked and isolated was an understatement. We were in Baresca for 3 hours and left feeling desolate. It should have been a happy meal but was not. Not a very happy retirement. I would not recommend to anyone

Very nice food, and a good variety of options. I met up with a few friends for lunch here. I love tapas, so any chance to sample a place like that is a treat. This one is a classic example of city-centre hipster-chic fusion-food. We'd booked, so there was no queue, and it's a good job too because the place was pretty busy. The food was good, and there was a nice range available. One of our party is gluten-free, so it's always nice to have a place that's got options. Unfortunately, one of our dishes was completely missed by the staff, which isn't ideal, hence only 3-stars for service.
Jon B — Google review
We ordered two drinks and both were very watered down, in addition to being overpriced for the quality. We also felt some discomfort from the staff, as they asked us several times if we weren’t going to order food, which made us feel a bit pressured.

There was a great choice of options for both vegetarian and non vegetarian diners which made sharing Tapas super easy. The food was wonderful , lovely flavours, nicely presented and generous portion sizes. The service was warm and friendly ensuring all dining needs were met. We were not rushed from our table despite a time limit and the atmosphere was good and we were seated at a good table in the middle of the restaurant....... I dont think the experience could have been better! And what a bargain!! Thankyou First Tables and well done Baresca Nottingham

Visited for lunch mid-October and had the Menu del Dia. Was disappointed the olives appetiser was just 4 olives, but ironically came with 6 cocktail sticks, and bread starter was very also small. All the main dish food portions were also very small, and while we appreciated it is tapas so supposed to be small plates, it felt like the portion sizes were much smaller than previous visits, and we didnt feel very full when we left. The front part of the restaurant was also cold as they left the door wide open. Ok for a light meal, but at £18 per head plus a bottle of wine, it came £80 and felt pricy for what we had. Based on previous visits we were expecting to feel fuller afterwards, but this time it didn’t feel like value for money and not sure we’ll be returning soon.

My wife and I had such a brilliant time on the Brewery Experience Day at Brewhouse & Kitchen Nottingham. Ross was our brewer and he was fantastic – super knowledgeable, easy to chat to, and made the whole process really fun and engaging. We got hands-on making an American Pale Ale, with Ross guiding us through each step. On top of that, we had a tasty breakfast and lunch, and plenty of beer to enjoy along the way – what more could you want? Honestly, it’s great value for money and such a unique day out. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves beer or just fancies trying something a bit different. Big thanks to Ross, we’ll hopefully pop back in the next couple of weeks to try the APA! 🍻

Had a brilliant visit to this pub recently and it’s quickly become one of my favourites. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. The food was hearty and well-cooked, and the drinks selection was spot on. A special mention has to go to Sarah, who really made the experience stand out. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It’s rare to meet someone who strikes the perfect balance between being professional and personable, but Sarah did exactly that. She made sure everything was just right and added such a positive energy to the evening. Would definitely recommend a visit here – and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Sarah, you’ll be in excellent hands!

Went here to celebrate my birthday and had an absolutely brilliant time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming – a perfect mix of lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a good meal and conversation. I had the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection – juicy, full of flavour, and exactly how I asked. For dessert, the cheesecake was a winner – creamy, rich, and the perfect end to the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Adam and Jack, two of the younger members of the team, were outstanding – friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, and they helped make the night feel that bit more special. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a great birthday evening!

Alchemilla is a stylish British restaurant housed in a historic red-brick building that used to be a Victorian coach house. The establishment, led by renowned chef Alex Bond, has earned a Michelin star and gained recognition through appearances on popular TV cooking shows. Offering elevated dishes with a focus on seasonal and foraged ingredients, the restaurant presents five, seven, or ten-course tasting menus featuring options for vegans, pescatarians, and meat lovers.
We were here to celebrate a birthday and our anniversary. The 7 courses are really nice. All courses came in very rich flavour, which I could imagine not always the preference for everyone. But we really enjoyed. The only suggestion to the dishes is on the last course of truffle tart - the tart base was too far to be cut but knife or fork. It would be easier to handle if it goes a bit softer.

A Birthday Dinner to Remember! Had the best birthday dinner ever at Michelin-starred Alchemilla! If you’re dining here, definitely go for the wine pairings—they truly elevate the experience. Each wine was carefully selected to complement every course, and the moody atmosphere with gorgeous lighting made it even more special. The service was fantastic, and the food? Absolutely incredible. My partner said the duck was the best he’s ever had, and I was obsessed with the desserts and their perfectly matched wines. They truly lived up to their Michelin star! This was my husband’s birthday present. It was a 2 hour drive over and was worth every minute! 4.5 hours, 12 courses and 7 wines. Could not fault a single mouthful. Drinks on the terrace to start was a lovely touch. Dan has done an excellent job pairing the wines, I don’t usually like dessert wines but the last two were particularly beautiful. Fantastic atmosphere. Alex was really friendly and chatty and even brought us extra snacks because they were just so good! The mushroom dish was a stunning stand out in a delicious tasting menu. We’ve been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants and this was easily our favourite. Will definitely come again.

Had a most wonderful experience at this restaurant. This is a place where the chef definitely believes “More is More”. The attention to detail was outstanding and the staff were an excellent team. Our server Molly knew exactly what she was serving us and wow it was a lot to remember. The place has a wonderful charm and there is a beautiful roof terrace.

Absolutely THE best place for date night / celebration food. The team are amazing and the food was superb. There was one hiccup about whether we were having sweetbreads or not but this was the only mishap. The terrace was a great addition since we last visited.

Review for just the upstairs garden cocktail bar. Delicious drinks, great service, lovely atmosphere. Interesting intimate layout. The wooden outdoor furniture seems a bit weathered and could use sanding and treating.

Spent my birthday at Alchemilla — and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. I’ve wanted to do the full tasting menu there for years and I’m glad I was able to make this occasion especially memorable. Started with a glass of Nyetimber Rosé on the terrace before heading inside for a tasting menu that was creative, intricate and full of bold, unexpected flavour. The menu included; 🦪 Oyster with Summer 2022 relish & buttermilk - Genuinely one of the best oysters I’ve ever had 🥔 Hash brown with truffle curd, chorizo jam & cured pork - This was also delicious 🦀 Chicken skin with brown crab & togarashi – a crispy, umami-rich punch The menu then unfolded beautifully across land, sea and forest: 🌱 Celeriac, sour butter & sour bread - We’re definitely team Celeriac (if you know, you know) 🦐 Langoustine, nam jim & fermented fennel 🍄 Mushroom, teriyaki & caramelised ham cream - This may have been my favourite course. The various types of mushroom created such an amazing blend of flavours and textures. 🐟 Trout, miso duck liver & fermented rhubarb 🔥 Sweetbread, lobster hot oil, ranch & umai caviar 🕊️ Pigeon, apricot, rose & merguez 🌲 Blackcurrant wood, pine & beetroot 🍓 Strawberry, sorrel, koji & black garlic The whole experience truly lived up to expectations and the full wine pairing ensured my pictures progressively got worse as the night went on but I can’t wait to hopefully go back again in the future and I highly recommend if you’ve wanted to go then do make the trip!

Our family party of six had a marvellous time at Alchemilla recently, celebrating my wife’s birthday and the beginning of her retirement. Each course was wonderfully memorable in its own right but as an experience it was amazing. Those member so four group with allergies were accommodated with sensitivity and creativity, so no one felt their experience diminished in any way. The service from the whole team was spot-on, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and had the time to chat, which is rare in so many restaurants these days, but makes for a wonderfully personal experience. Thank you for a great evening! We will definitely be back soon.

Pub
Restaurant
Hand & Heart is a unique and characterful pub located in Nottingham, just a few minutes from the town center. The pub's dining room is situated within sandstone caves dating back to the Saxon era, offering a truly atmospheric experience. Visitors can enjoy live music, Victorian bar vibes, and even a conservatory upstairs. The pub also offers its signature Light Hearted ale to complement their hearty breakfasts, sumptuous Sunday roasts, and traditional pub grub.
Had Sunday lunch for the first time with the original chef back and the new manager. Truly excellent, as good as it used to be. Service and staff were excellent. Fantastic food and drink, with real attention to the real ale. A tap takeover from the Bang the Elephant brewery with some excellent beers. It's good to see a welcome return to form on all fronts. Very much worth the walk up Derby Road.

Me and my sister came here for dinner! As soon as we got in the staff was lovely! I didn't get her name but there was a very nice lady wearing red with brown hair that was a star! As for the food, it came out quickly and was beautiful. I first got the soup with the bread! The bread was fluffy and yummy! And the soup was flavorful and a good portion! My sister got the brie cheese wedge and it was full of cheese!! Then I got the pork belly and it was amazing! The pork was succulent and full of flavour! The sauce it came with was delicious and the veg was cooked perfectly! My sister got the burger and it was juicy and full of flavour! The chunky chips were to die for! And the atmosphere was so unique! How often do you get to have dinner in a cave!! Lovely dinner location!!

We’ve been coming to Hand & Heart for years, so when we heard it was under new management, we were a little nervous, especially since the Sunday roast has always been a favourite. But I’m beyond grateful (and relieved!) to say it’s still absolutely exceptional…if not even better! I had the Pork Roast, which was cooked to perfection, while the rest of my family opted for the Beetroot Wellington, and everything was divine. You must try the cauliflower cheese and piggies in blankets, one of each is plenty for two people, and they’re both absolutely delicious. The quality and attention to detail in the food are outstanding. The service was just as impressive, the staff were incredibly attentive, and I was genuinely surprised to see there was no service charge. Even when we tried to tip, the manager wouldn’t accept it! The pub still has the same cozy charm, and the cave setting remains as beautiful as ever. It was also fantastic value for money. There were six of us, we each had a roast, a drink or two, and the total came to under £180, a rarity for a meal of this standard. We went for Mother’s Day as a treat for my mum and auntie, and it was such a special experience. I honestly can’t recommend Hand & Heart enough, if you’re after a top-quality roast in a stunning setting with outstanding service, this is the place to go!

It's the first time that we have been since the pub reopened. We were looking for some different beers but unfortunately we picked the day of the Castle Rock tap takeover. We do like their beers but as they are our biggest local brewery we had already tried them all. We will try again. It was pretty quiet but we did visit early afternoon.

Cracking pup close to the city centre with amazing food and an interesting interior. We went for Sunday lunch & it was fantastic, we both opted for the lamb which was well cooked and presented with the expected veggies. As a side we shared the pig in blanket with was a little disappointing for the price. Beers are fine and the deserts looked good too although we left a little earlier than I expected due to poor seating. The service wasn't the best but no major complaints as it was busy and they did cope. Really enjoyed it, good food but I won't be rushing back.

Went here for a really good Sunday roast for Mother’s Day. Food was superb and service excellent - they really looked after us and our 5 year old son. Setting in the cave with fairy lights is really unique and well worth a visit.

Visitor to Nottingham. Spectacular setting .. Pub in a cave! Great well kept cask ales .. good range pale/IPA/classic bitter/stout/mild 💪👍 congrats to the landlord. Food was equally as good ... Tasty wholesome and filling. Definitely back here next time I'm in Nottingham. Thank you for a great experience.

Amazing pub, since it's had a makeover it's one of our favourite places to go and luckily it's a 5 minute walk from us. Sunday dinner is a must in the cave, portion sizes are the biggest I've seen! The Yorkshire puddings are amazing, lots of vegetables, roasts and a choice of 3 meats. The staff are friendly and attentive and welcoming. Always recommend it to family and friends!

The Cross Keys in Nottingham is a historic pub with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Once known for its bright yellow exterior, the pub has undergone a transformation and now offers wood-paneled rooms, cask ales, and craft beers. The upstairs dining room provides a relaxed setting to enjoy delicious meals prepared by Chef Des Sweeney, who has even cooked for the Royal Family in the past.
31/5 Four of us attended. We sat outside for a drink first which was lovely. The pub has a great selection of beers including real ales (they had 4 on at the time). We went inside for food which was delicious and reasonably priced. Presentation was excellent too. The pub itself is great, a proper oldy worldy pub with character and the staff were all so happy, friendly, efficient and helpful (especially the lady with the lovely arm tattoo) who served us. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable 🙂

Great pub for a date night, solo date night or hang with friends! The staff are super friendly and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection! I would definitely return - I don't often eat out alone but after this experience I definitely will again - great "me" time 😊

Really impressed with our Sunday lunch - generous portions and the beef was extremely tasty. Minor gripe is that the Yorkshire pudding had been kept warm so that it had dried out entirely, being almost dusty when eaten. Other than that, I’d say was excellent. I’m not into sports bars so didn’t especially enjoy the match being on while trying to eat.

Wanted to try the new menu after refurb and were excited, ordered 2 of the chicken schnitzel and were enjoying our meal until we discovered it was raw inside. Both of us were put off our meals and ask for the dishes to be taken away. The main issue was that there wasn't an apology, and as we both ordered the same dish we asked to be refunded and the waitress was rude and only offered to refund one and said "yours isn't raw" to the other dish. We were eventually fully refunded. Not normally one to write reviews but felt this needed to be addressed.

Nestled in the heart of Nottingham, The Vat & Fiddle is a charming brewery tap that dates back to the 1930s. This inviting spot not only serves up a delightful selection of Castle Rock beers but also offers hearty pub grub that perfectly complements your drink. Visited Saturday 15th July 2023 late afternoon. Been meaning to visit for a while, just never got around to it. Location is ideal if you're around the train station as it's literally across the road. Castle Rocks tap house so obviously has a full range of CR beers; however, as with all CR pubs there's also a great range of guest cask and keg beers alongside a fridge full of craft beer cans and bottles, obviously there's also lager, wine, spirits, soft drinks etc. We ended up eating the loaded fries while we were there, a portion of buffalo and a portion of hamburger, both of which were delicious and reasonable value. Staff were friendly and approachable, the place had a nice atmosphere. The pub itself is a proper old school pub, hard floors throughout and traditional decor with seating out front and a large yard out back. Definitely worth a visit.

Great pub with great selection of beers and great staff. Food is pretty good, crisp selection is wide, and the outdoor seating is lovely in the sunshine too. Great boozer not too far from Nottingham Train Station, great as a place to stop while waiting for that train home.

Return visit, October 2022: Still the good real ale pub that I first visited in the mid 2010s. Castle Rock beers from the well (the brewery is right next door), and at moderate prices. How much you'll gravitate towards Castle Rock's ales is another question, but there's always a wide variety available and they are all certainly the freshest here that they can be. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. I don't remember the covered outside seating from my previous visits, and it's certainly nice to relax out there on a mild autumn evening. Certainly a nicer place to hang out than the sparsely decorated, "colder" BeerhHeadZ right AT Nottingham Station, also far less expensive.

Superb Castle Rock Brewery pub in Nottingham City. 5' minutes walk from main railway station. As an 'away' football fan, have only visited when my team are playing against Forest at The City Ground. Always welcomed by home fans; no rivalry or aggression. Absolutely stunning, superb selection of both Castle Rock & guest beers. + lagers & a good whisky selection! Only sampled food on football matchdays, but if this is an example of normal fayre, then can highly recommend it. Nothing fancy or ponsy! Just basic meals, toasties, chip butties, sausage butties, beef or veggie chilly for example. Staff extremely busy on matchdays so PLEASE be patient with them! They all do a fantastic job. Castle Rock Brewery attached to pub & Brewery tours can be booked. A fantastic pub

Tucked away in Nottingham, the Nottingham Secret Garden offers a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The outdoor venue is adorned with lush foliage, twinkling lights, and wooden beams, creating a magical ambiance. Despite its name, it's a well-known bar famous for its top-notch cocktails with a natural twist. The outdoor space is covered and heated for year-round enjoyment.
Me and my girlfriend came for a chill time, the staff made it amazing, exciting and extremely welcoming, they gave us the best service possible I’m looking forward to my next visit, Chantelle and Dylan were so friendly I hope they’re working next time I come.
Mateusz W — Google review
Don't bother. We booked a table and when we arrived, people were already sat there. Staff asked the other people to move, but didn't clean the table so it was covered in spilt drinks. We had to ask for a cloth. Menus are unclear; certain cocktails are only available on certain days, and cocktail deals are misleading. This is something we could have looked past had the drinks we ordered actually been good. Instead, the drinks weren't measured, so when we ordered multiple of the same cocktail, each one looked and tasted different, and most didn't even seem like they had any alcohol in at all. We ordered 3 Skittle Bomb shots for £9 just to be given 3 shots of just Red Bull. Absolute rip off. No non-alcoholic options, not even coke or lemonade, only bottled water was available which is shocking. There was also an issue with our deposit where staff did not want to honour our prepaid drinks tab unless they saw a confirmation email, even though the booking name matched our ID. Eventually this was sorted but clearly needs a better system in place. All in all, don't waste your time or money.
Holly J — Google review
I attended for the Country Superstars Terrace Party. I was instantly surprised by how small the venue was. I ordered a coke at the bar, only to be questioned as to why I wasn't drinking alcohol by the guy who served me, which I found rather odd. The two security staff on the door were purely focused on perving on the younger female customers, and in no way focused on their actual role. God help them if somebody kicks off in there. The place just had a bad vibe.
Alex G — Google review
Came here for a private function upstairs. The two guys on the bar were nice and friendly and a good time was had. Only 4 stars because an additional staff member could have been useful to clear empties and plates. Also the espresso martinis were pre-mixed (I like mine with rum which couldn't be substituted) and didn't come with the coffee bean on top - I know some places do pre-mixed cocktails now for speed/ease but for £12 I would expect a cocktail from scratch. 5 stars for the doorman Nathan who went above and beyond and lent a little girl his jacket as we were waiting for a taxi home. It's lovely to come across someone with old school manners and particularly nice he isn't the typical doorman. Over all had a great evening here and would visit again.
Hester W — Google review
They took our money 4 weeks before an event for the reservation deposit, then cancelled just before, as they decided some other party would be better for them... they also decided that they wouldn't have to refund this deposit, despite it being 100% their doing. Don't give these people your time and money.
Tim T — Google review
This secret garden is worth a visit! The bar staff is super friendly and make great drinks. The garden has plenty of seating and there is music playing. It was the perfect place to catch up with old friends. Thanks!

Cancelled a family members booking last minute for his 30th then refused to refund the booking fee. Lots of us had travelled in from out of town. Really poor customer service. If it was a genuine oversight then an apology and a refund would have been fine. However they’re still refusing to refund the deposit paid. Avoid for large events. Cannot be trusted.

The customer service at this place is shocking. The male server was extremely rude and dismissive which made our experience here unpleasant. He made serving us feel seem like such an inconvenience to him which just made our time there uncomfortable. The Dragon is my go to pub in Nottingham. It’s just a boozer, with no food, apart from a few cobs, which I like. Usually someone spinning some vinyl records they’ve brought in to play on their decks. Lovely city centre pub with a large scaletrix set up. You can hire this room out. Unfortunately on my visit the barman didn’t have a key for the room as I did ask if I could have a look! We attended a concert at The Bodega a few nights ago. It was so easy to find so we got there too early, had a drink in the downstairs bar area where a guest DJ was playing - interesting! We had our tickets scanned and went upstairs into the small concert room. I was surprised how cosy it was but as it was a standing concert there was plenty of room. Service at the bar was quick and efficient, we had no problems in getting served. We chose to stand on a railed and raised platform at the back of the room - we had a great view and the sound was fantastic! Great concert watching Toby Lee and his band, would definitely go to this venue again.

Indie quiz on Tuesday evening- couldn't find the DJ to enter it! Had one pint, no real ales on tap, and gave it up as a 'bad job'! Frontage currently hidden by scaffolding. More of a student venue than a regulars local. NB toilets are upstairs.

i had a pretty bad experience, the bartenders are really slow even when it’s dead and even gave us the wrong drinks - also the women’s toilets were very dirty and extremely cramped 🙁 there are also a lot of stairs so it’s not a very accessible venue either. the concert venue is alright, it’s very small so it can only fit a small crowd and the PA is pretty loud. overall i would avoid coming here for casual drinks and only go for gigs.

Last time my wife went there before moving out the area was 40 yrs ago. Great to see it still there. Had some AMAZING times The guys there were so friendly letting us look around the dance room even though it was locked up normally A few changes but wow great memories

I went to their indie night on Wednesday and had a terrible experience. The way they organised entry into the upstairs club area meant anyone using the female toilets had to rejoin the massive entry queue to get back in, which took me 1 hour to get through. Meanwhile, anyone using the male toilets could just go in and then back into the upstairs club area after immediately. It felt extremely unfair and no warnings were given about this system. Many people seemed to get caught out. One of my friends had come looking for me without her phone and got stuck outside the club on her own late at night. Overall, very little concern for gender fairness or safety. Wouldn't recommend.

Visited Sunday evening, whilest it's a nice pub with a good range of drinks . It was uncomfortable hot, not due to the weather it was a fault with the heating. On mentioned to staff they explained the fault, nothing done. I visited the ladies' toilets, only 1 available. Unfortunately, the sanitary bin was overflowing and positioned inches from the toilet, so with the heat, the smell was toxic in small space. Please see photos

Putting this on here mainly to see if anyone else has experienced this. I have historically enjoyed the cock and hoop (I even stayed in the adjoining hotel before my wedding), but I’ve had two strange experiences recently. The last two times I have been here, I have asked for the daily deal advertised on multiple signs - the first was a pizza and pint deal in March, and the second was their wine Wednesday deal today. On both occasions, I was told that the deal was no longer running, despite the sign being outside (one of which would have had to have been actively put out that day). On the second occasion, I was told the deal had come to an end two weeks ago - in which case, why was the sign out? To further thicken the plot, their Instagram post exactly 2 weeks ago (the day I was told the deal had been cancelled) advertised wine Wednesday, with no indication that the deal was coming to an end. I find this baffling, and really damaging to my opinion of and trust in the pub. If you are not running a deal, that is fine, but you should make sure you are not advertising this deal. It may well be that I was just unlucky, but the repeated incidents makes it feel as if the deals are not real!

Charming place with great history, delicious local cask ales, ciders and beers. A must visit after your museum tour across the street. I had a wonderful chat with Ash and another bartender I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of. Both are super knowledgeable about the drinks on offer and about Notts history. Also met Alex, who was only on her second day working at the pub but she seemed to fit right in! I will definitely visit again!

Sunday roast was good, but we asked for medium rare beef, but it came cooked. Dessert was so good! Overall, everything was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Would come back.
