Recommended by our guide. And it’s just across our hotel. Came by for our coffee fix and some breakfast. Standard cafe stuff. Nice ambient and chill place. We came back the next day for the coffee. They do sell their own blend of coffee bean as well.

What a cafe! Suggested by our guide and fell in love with this place. Heaven for coffee lovers, good food, great music, warm staff and beautiful location just near the tower clock. Much recommended. Do try Bhutanese set meal, ramen, burger and variety of shakes offered.

One of the few cafe that is opened early in the morning. The coffee is good and the atmosphere in the cafe makes it even better. The foods are reasonably priced. 4 stars for the food as the pan cake that I ordered wasn't freshly made but other than that, everything was great. Would definitely come back for the coffee.

Visited as a big group and the staff immediately got tables ready for us. Realised that the cafe is run by a woman, Black apron in the kitchen and pink for customer service. Met Kali the famous cat and let her be by herself as requested on the menu card. The food was delicious and the atmosphere perfect for a small chit chat with a meal. What really caught my attention was the woman's washroom, separate bin for used sanitary pads and fresh sanitary pads kept in case anyone would need it, very thoughtful 🙏 We had a good time and I enjoyed my vanilla ice cream too 😋. Loved the decor and the beautiful paintings on the wall.

A crowded, fun place that is very popular and has a massive menu and a cute cat. You get the hours of Internet that is reasonably fast as well. However, it took ages for all of our order to arrive and it wasn't that great

Lovely cafe in Thimphu near the clock tower and Yarkay, Meridien hotels. They have a large variety of coffee, and a large variety of food. We had the pumpkin soup, Margherita pizza, red sauce pasta, falafel puta and hummus, ice cream etc. Id say all the food was good. Its a quiet cafe and many come to sit and work. They also have a cute cat that walks around.

I had gingeremon tea here Really liked the ambience , although tea was bit harsh on lemon and bit low om honey, compared to what I was used to in Nepal. Perhaps it's the Bhutan style. I loved the fact they have local newspapers I can read I also liked the cat who seams to be the actual prince here :) It was quite impressive to see they have coffee roasting process going on level above. Large machine and few people working on the roasting. First time I saw coffee shop with such a set up. I think they must be selling coffee beans to other shols as well as no way so much beans can be used in one shop.

This very popular restaurant has grest bhutanese dishes including soups and momos with many drinks.

Another great Zombala location just up the road from the original. Open when the other is closed, and vice versa, so you can always get your Zombala fix! The food is very similar in quality, but this location offers a bar and therefore more varied drink options- including the excellent Red Panda weiss beer from Bumthang. Like the other location, it's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, except this time up a flight of stairs. Highly, highly recommend!

Well Don't order potato momos, rest everything is fine. It's nice little old rustic and charming place. And it's not that expensive. Frequented by locals this is a good place to have a vibe of thimpu, if you are here no wonder they are rated highly and is recommended by so many tour books. All in all great experience.

Really disappointing experience, have been many times before when in Thimphu and it’s been great. We ordered beef momo, French fries and beef bathup with few special drinks. Momo was tasteless, Fries were too oily and soggy, bathup and drinks were just average. I am not coming back. Seems like new owner.

Great location with a good window view of the city. Momos are good, but slightly raw sometimes. Their tea and coffee options are good, especially the lemon tea! Staff and management are really amicable :)

Awesome food, serves local cuisine and local alcohol. The staff is great and service is fast. You would be surprised with the bill which wouldn’t hurt your wallets. The potato momos are very good here

One upscale restaurant in Thimphu that is designed to let customers experience ancient Bhutanese household culture and tradition. The staff are very friendly and cordial. They welcome every customer with a cup of suja (butter-tea) with zaaw or a palang of ara (local wine). All items in the menu are traditional Bhutanese cuisines, which we don't see in almost all restaurants in Bhutan. The interior designs are also so appealing and give us a feeling of being in a house of ancient Bhutanese elite. But the prices aren't low as per local standard. We came here following a recommendation from a blog, where the person had showcased a huge variety of vegetarian dishes as well. On arriving here, they had a set menu for lunch (per person) and on asking if they had vegetarian options they said yes The ema dashi (chilies with cheese) was just plain red chilies with not even a hint of cheese, unlike the ema dashis we have been eating everywhere. And we got some boiled cauliflower with it. Quite a dry lunch overall, so that was a bit of a disappointment, especially at this price point. I think if you are a meat eater they might have much better options, but if you’re a vegetarian skip this and just eat anywhere in town EDIT: while paying I saw two separate menus at the counter with different prices for the same options. Not sure what that was about

Nice restaurant with traditional kitchen. The chili with cheese was perfect. Also I like traditional wooden cups for soup or tea.

Tasty food with wide variety of traditional menu, from buckwheat pancakes, Ema dashi, kewa dashi, chicken paa and pork. We went there in evening. The ambience was spectacular. If somebody is staying in thimpu for two days then one should definitely visit here once. Heard it's managed by queen mother of Bhutan

Our best meal in bhutan so far. Great authentic local food with maybe some moderation of spice (which is needed for most of us non Bhutanese). Realized that the veggie dishes sign in the cuisine while the meat or fish dishes are ok or maybe an acquired taste. Definitely worth a visit

Good enough, can give it try. The representation of Bhutanese life style in ancient time is displayed well but unfortunately they do not allow to click pictures inside, don't know why? The pictures posted on social platforms instead helps to promote attractions & no way harm. The administration may rethink its policy for allowing photography.

The Zone opens at 10:45am - so don't come too early. They are a little slow at getting meals ready, and the ambience inside is a little on the dark side for my liking. Food wise, the club Sandwich rolls are actually quite tasty, however the side of chip fries was a little undercooked. Overall a decent meal for the price. Another thing I'd recommend is not sitting at the lounge chairs, they don't clean under the pillows and as I moved them I found old food and people's cut fingernails!!

The place marries bhutan with American cuisine very well. The burgers is as great as their momos. Do not miss the lovely fish and chips too. Crunchy and delish. Great for a quiet evening with friends

I stumbled upon this place and was happily surprised. The boss, Nam, was most convivial and chatty. I did not eat there so am reviewing it only on ambiance, comfort and staff friendliness. (Actually, I'm writing this review as I sit outside having made the Zone my first stop on my second night out.)

They are little cafe and bar around the corner. The Zone is built like a traditional American diner and pub. With wooden paneling, soccer posters and stickers all over, you'll forget that you're in Bhutan. A well maintained place. Neat and clean table, chairs and floor. Well decorated walls with beautiful portraits. They have books and magazines for the bookworms 😃. I ate pizza and it was delicious. They serve it with kind and humble gesture.

Everyone had what they would like for lunch! My mind feels happy when taste is right! I had beef penn and milk tea, they are super. My friend tried local lunch set! Which is absolutely delicious.

Not the Experience We Hoped For We were genuinely excited to try local cuisine in Thimphu, but our visit to this restaurant was quite disheartening. One of the best pizza places in Thimphu. First time I visited here in 2014. After that i have visited here countless time, still have the same experience in 2023. They have a cozy indoor seating arrangement, and kinda outdoor seating as well. I’m not sure if they use mozzarella cheese , but taste-wise they can beat any other pizza in Thimphu.

Sadly, this restaurant turned out to be the single most disappointing — even offensive — part of our entire trip. From the moment we entered, the treatment we received was nothing short of demeaning. The owner, in particular, displayed a shocking level of rudeness and hostility. There was no welcome, no basic courtesy, and certainly no respect. We weren’t treated like customers — more like a nuisance they were forced to put up with. It felt as though our presence was an inconvenience. No eye contact, no service etiquette, and absolutely zero effort to accommodate or communicate respectfully with a large group of paying guests. For a business in the hospitality sector, this kind of behavior is unacceptable anywhere — let alone in a country that prides itself on warmth and kindness. What we encountered here was arrogance disguised as authority, and ignorance passed off as policy. The staff followed the owner's lead — disengaged, cold, and visibly irritated by our presence. We left feeling disrespected, disappointed, and honestly, embarrassed for having chosen this place. To fellow Indian tourists — or any travelers who value basic decency and customer service — I strongly recommend avoiding this establishment. Bhutan has countless other restaurants and local eateries that are welcoming, professional, and true to the spirit of hospitality this country is known for. This restaurant, unfortunately, is a glaring exception — and a stain on Bhutan’s otherwise beautiful reputation.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Thimphu. Prices are little bit high compared to other restaurants in the area. But food and service is good and worth for the money.

Good Indian food in friendly atmosphere. The restaurant offers all the usual Indian dishes. The dishes we had were pretty tasty. The chicken pieces were more bone than meat but tasty nevertheless. The tandori paneer was very good. Service is excellent, cordial and efficient. Reasonably priced is worth a try.

Our first dinner at Bhutan and Thimphu here at this place. Arrived late at the restaurant, the people from the hotel told us that better to finish the dinner early as we might not get later on. So just got out and found this. Didn't think twice as we were already hungry. Selected the Chapati and Yellow Dhal fried from the menu. I must say the food was filling and wonderful. Even better is the ambience of the place as well as the decorations. Loved it.

Average food..But better than other restaurants

Pathetic experience. The food quality is very bad. A man shared card of this Restraunt at Buddha point. Now we understood why the Restraunt needs publicity like this. Even the response when we shared the experience was very casual. I would never advise anyone to visit this restaurant.

Having recently become a vegetarian I discovered that this restaurant offers great Thali basically a set meal for a fixed price. Besides the usual vegetarian and non vegetarian on offer in other such restaurants, I found the Rajasthani exclusive thali very tempting and unique classic thali most affordable . Food was great but better still prices most reasonable . Now I am hooked on the thalis.

The place is awesome at the heart of Thimphu city. The behavior as well as the food is superv. Though the price may seems overpriced it is completely worth it. A lunch or dinner at this restaurant is highly recommend.

Visited AMA Restaurant for lunch after hearing several glowing recommendations, and it certainly lived up to some of the expectations. The place was quite busy, which was a good sign, and we were fortunate to get a table without much wait. Service was quick and the food arrived promptly. Everything appeared fresh and well-prepared. A particular standout was the crispy potatoes — served hot and full of flavor. We ordered a range of items including beef momo, chicken fried rice, chicken Schezwan, beef thukpa, and beef bathup. Each dish had its own appeal and was quite satisfying in terms of taste and portion. However, while the food left a positive impression, the service experience could use some improvement. The staff appeared disengaged, with little to no interaction or warmth from both the server and the cashier. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and worth the visit. If time permits, I would consider returning to explore more of their menu — ideally with a better service experience.

Staff is very nice. I tried their Beef Momos and Thukpa. Thukpa noodles were nice and tasty. Their momos were too thick for me with not enough beef inside.

Food was okay, but I wouldn't recommend it because of the service. The waitress actually said that they were out of hot water when we asked for it. I used to love this place.

For average people like to us to get restaurant I would recommend ama restaurant and the food was amazing really hits taste . But I would recommend maintaining restrooms cleaness

First of all I would like to thank Mark Wiens, saw his all episodes of the Bhutan Travel. He was here while on his stay at Thimphu. Target here was to try the Ting momos, but I was worried about the price as I couldn't get a menu picture anyone on the Internet. Anyway, just proceeded to the place with a little hesitation and guess what, got everything at a very reasonable price. The food was really filling, fried rice was okay but enough for 2 person and more than enough for 1 person, momos were good along with the Dhal that we took. Please try whenever you visit Thimphu.

This place in Thimphu's main road is good dinning and fast food options place. Tried vegetarian Momo and butter tea or Suja which fine and something different to try from Bhutan being an Indian. This place is bit costly like little moderate one. Do try to have vegetarian varieties Momo's or rolls even green tea is good options. This restaurant is vegetarian and non-vegetarian both. Suja was a fun to try. The red chutney was fun just like chilli which made me cry from eye🤯😅

Spacious place with great view of the clock tower square... Wide variety of dishes to choose from and going by the name I didn't want to go for anything other than Tibetan Thukpa... They know it the best... Taste of Tibet. But the place feels like Tibet ...it's cold and not a heating devic any where. With a heater it's going to be a great place.

The tea and coffee here are good. But, when we decided to have local food (Thukpa) , we got absolutely bland boiled noodles in soup. It was not good at all. Also tried the spaghetti which was average too. The crispy chilli potato is good though. They do take some time to provide service. Even the hot and sour soup was not good. Food here is not good but edible.

Since my first visit in 2019, all I can say is that Coffee Culture is consistently slow when it comes to service. Whether I’m the only customer or it’s full, there is always a strange waiting time for anything here. So enough of my rants. Beyond my complaint above, this place serves amazing coffee, pastries, cakes, meals, and everything really. If you ever make it here, try their gulab jamon cheesecake. It’s so good that you’ll want to marry it. Like seriously.

Finally the perfect cafe in Thimphu! Ample indoor and outdoor seating available, cool ambience with great serving style. Prices are wow! Half to a third of any good cafe in the town, and the options on the menu are too good! Only hiccup, wifi was down when I visited. But this was by far the best cafe experience around Bhutan for me.

Best place for coffee in town with varieties of coffee and other items. It also has free wifi with great speed. I love the arrangement of sitting areas with outdoor, indoor and upper floor and the music. Highly recommended if you are searching for right place for a sip of coffee

A pretty good Chinese restaurant in the heart of Thimphu. They serve a wide array of dishes. Setting is very comfortable with large tables welcoming for bigger groups. I had the whole fried fish (good sauce, but a bit too hard, not tender meat) and the ginger chicken soup (nostalgic and made me think of grandma's cooking).

The restaurant is located in town earlier now shifted to Thori lam just below DGPC office. Visited this very recently after lockdown. Though it was Friday lunch time, there wasn’t many customers. FOOD & Service: This one is one my favorite Chinese restaurant in Bhutan so far. The food is as good as the one which you get in one of the Chinese specialty restaurants in India and Bangkok, and prices are reasonable too as compared to them. Ambience – Simple and quite comfortable seating. They do have meal sets and A la carte options. Menu items are limited but have whatever they have are best they serve. Service: Service is quick and the hostesses were helpful and attentive. Free parking available

Though we did not have a meal from this restaurant as the menu was not suitable for us , the staff were quite courteous and directed us to a different place where we could find vegetarian dish options of our liking.

Actually I went to a bike trip to Bhutan, we reached the hotel at late night it was so cold. Yet the people from the hotel welcomed us so nice. And the food was really amazing. Thanks for the room heaters which helped us to have a sweet sleep

Although the location is very good , central Thimphu, many other things in this hotel simply do not work The heater in our room was broken, after letting staff know about the problem, they promised to exchange the heater for a working one, still nothing happened for 5 hours. After reminder, still, no response Bed sheets were dirty and filthy Kettle did not work Lunch pre-ordered at the restaurant never arrived and after reminder staff was confused about the order Not recommended

Hotel rooms are good, room service is very cheap . Faced a situation when hotel staff denied me to give drinking water bottle saying that restaurant is closed. But after struggle of an hour or two we were provided bottles. I am giving 3 stars just becoz of hotel infrastructure.

Tried this place after hearing great things about their chowmein (stir-fried noodles), and it certainly lived up to the hype. We decided to go all in and ordered a variety of dishes, though we were too excited to take photos of everything—especially once the chowmein arrived. The venue itself is quite compact, but the ambience is pleasant and comfortable for a casual meal. Service was efficient, and the food was served within a reasonable time after ordering. As expected, the beef chowmein was the standout—flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Easily one of the best we’ve had in Thimphu so far. On the other hand, the beef momo and beef fried rice were a bit underwhelming in terms of seasoning. They weren’t bad, but they lacked the depth of flavor we expected. Fortunately, the accompanying soup and chili paste added an extra kick that helped enhance both dishes. Overall, while not every dish was equally impressive, the chowmein alone makes this spot worth visiting. Would definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for a hearty, satisfying plate of noodles.

Great local place, reasonable prices and fast services. The best items are the Bathup soup, Beef Shabtay, and momo. The momo is a bit salty and they add too mjuch onions. but can't blame them the inflation is making food prices/meat skyrocket

The food was pretty tasty and came out very quickly, although the appetisers are strangely in larger portions than the mains. Where they really let themselves down is customer service; they don’t acknowledge or greet you when you arrive, they don’t direct you to a table, without saying a word they dump the menus and leave the ordering pad for you to write out your entire order, then you need to get up to walk over and hand it back to the waitress. I could understand the attitude if they were busy, but they were not. Would have been 5 stars if they followed basic customer service rules.

They only serve the fat in the name of meat. Beef thukpa only fat. Beef pasta all soaked. Vibe is great but the food is worst.

Silver Wok used to be my go-to place, but things have really changed for the worse. I recently ordered the bibimbap, and it was extremely dry. When I gave polite feedback, the staff and even the owner responded with arrogance instead of concern. Their reasoning was that Silver Wok isn’t a Korean restaurant, so I shouldn’t have expected much from the dish. That kind of dismissive attitude is exactly why I’ve lost all respect for the place. After talking with friends and colleagues, I learned that many of them had similar experiences—dry food, poor service, and an overall lack of professionalism. I won’t be going back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

One of the restaurant with cool interior in the main town. We get Bhutanese dishes, indian and continental too. I would love to recommend the place to the vistor for the good food and if you just want to enjoy your leisure time with cup of coffee or drinks. The service is also good and will highly recommend.

My go to place when i need good food in a hurry. Not much veg options though. Good food and i love the service . The takaway options , comes in plastic containers, thats my only reservation or else its a great place for friends and family, centrally located in town .

Excellent location, peacefully built above a park. Enough space, … you just don’t want to leave. So we ordered another thing, and another thing, … plus take away. Excellent bread - probably the best in town - and homemade jams with flavors way more than the average. Perfect coffee and a very international selection of the most delicious cakes - again more than the average. You want to treat yourself and your friends with something special and don’t want to spend a fortune? This is the place!

Brusnika Russian cafe and Bakery located above ludrong Memorial park, magestic with delicious offering. The interior is tastefully decorated, with a mix of modern and rustic elements that create a cozy, comfortable setting, surly must vist the cafe and have a taste of Russia.

Brusnika Russian Cafe and Bakery is located on the ground floor of a white double-story home. I little cafe with warm ambiance. When i asked why it's a Russian cafe, the girl at the counter said one of the owners is Russian and they use Russian ingredients. Natalia Wangdi, a Russian woman married to a Bhutanese, owns it. They serve coffee, tea and bakery items. The coffee was good.

Nice coffee, snacks and delicious cakes. The cafe is on a great location with beautiful view and surroundings. The staff is friendly and polite. Must try the Carrot Walnut cake. The bakery is also famous for its bread.

For the bread lover these would be a paradise and if you want to try Russian food than these is a one as it's only the Russian cafe in city. One the reason which makes these place worth is the majestic view of Tashichodzong and the park just below the cafe. My first visit was worth and I loved the food.

The staff seems very friendly with big smile. We had coffee early in the morning and was great. We had some very delicious breakfast too with egg and sauces which were also fresh and healthy. The atmosphere looks so amiable with a great view of Ludrong Momorial Garden.

New place in t-town. Good and healthy food to try.

I was only in Thimpu for a day and didn’t get to visit the market until the morning of my departure. Unfortunately the market only opens at 9am which seems a little late for fresh produce market. At 8am, vendors were unloading their produce and setting up their booths. It’s a bright, spacious and clean market. There were vegetables (a lot of chilies), fruits and dried seafood.

I visited the Centenary Farmers Market on a Monday around 3 PM. Most of the vendors were there, and the stalls were beautifully arranged, everything neat and spotless. The produce looked fresh, often pre-packed into bags — something I hadn’t really seen at other markets. But despite the perfect presentation, the market felt strangely empty. There were hardly any shoppers, and it was missing that lively, buzzing vibe I usually associate with local markets. It’s definitely a beautiful place and worth seeing, but don’t expect a bustling atmosphere — at least not on a weekday afternoon.

The Bhutan Centenary Farmers Market is a great place to explore local life. It’s full of fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, and handmade goods. You can see what the locals eat and buy, and even try some unique Bhutanese ingredients. It’s busy, colorful, and a fun stop if you want to experience the everyday culture of Bhutan!

LOCAL COMMUNITY SYNERGY  Vegetables and produce from farms all over, all fresh & organic.  Great support to local community.  Some 400 stall on 2 floors. Well planned, airy, and easy to access and exit.  Avoid Monday, other days are open 7 am-7 pm.  Great way of interacting with local people, all so nice & friendly.  Fruits & vegetables ae all affordable and seasonal.  Plenty of small children all around, so lots of entertainment.  Vibrant colors and fresh aroma, deadly connect with nature.

Really cool pub at Thimphu! Didn’t expect the atmosphere to be that friendly and welcoming. The band O’Strangers was playing when we went and they played a few songs for us. The locals highly recommended this pub. I tried a local Bhutanese ale and it was really flavourful.

It's a must visit place if you are looking at exploring the night life of Thimphu. There are various live bands which perform here on daily basis. The atmosphere was electrifying and we loved our time spent here!!

One of the most happening place in Thimphu after dark. They have live music, affordable drinks and great crowd. They are open till midnight. Normally Wednesdays and weekends are busy. Tuesdays are dry day. A must visit if you are in Thimphu.

A good night club with music. Firstly you are charged 250 per person for entry they claim it goes to the musicians. Once inside you just need to grab a seat order and pay instantly , you are served drinks and snacks, don't expect dinner or sort. Just a place to chill out like. The place is bit priced but well for the ambiance and the service it's worth it do recommend if in Thimphu.

This is a great place to chill in the evenings. You have a live band playing. There's a bar. Outside you have a bond fire. While we were traveling in Bhutan we met some of the best people here. The band even dedicated a song to us so we get comfortable. We received so much of love. I would say no other city in the world could make you feel so special as we felt while we were here.

Great place to spend your nightlife in the capital city thimphu. However, the place is lively only on weekends and Wednesday. We couldn't witness Monday Bluejam which was scheduled. The place is available with all choice of booze along with local ones. Few options of snacks are also there but depends on availability. Open till 11AM. Located on the main area, on the street beside of clock tower.

So this place is for those who want to enjoy live music along with drinks. There are no food options. Its purely a bar with a love band performing excellent music. One of the coolest places to visit in Thimpu.

They are very particular for timing so you have to be on time as they close by 9 Bhutan time .Also you have to pay in cash as no other mode of payment. Good staff behaviour. We went in month of Jan for dinner they have heater facilities so we get some relief . It’s very peaceful place ,neat and clean .Also it’s in Center you can easily find it as it’s opposite to craft market.

You may not find most tandoori items in most days. Good for family and kids. You are better off with a vegetarian menu. The best part is that their food is even partially precooked. They make it fresh. It's cheap.

This place is truly a very decent and awesome place to stay both for family and bachelors with decent food containing both Indian and Bhutanese cuisine. Also very affordable prices of both rooms and foods. And moreover the owner of this place is really cool and friendly. Even he is very much helpful in every regard. If U are searching for a good along with affordable price hotel than it's the best place I can say.

Extremely budget friendly hotel with the best ever hospitality. The owner of this hotel is a very friendly guy and along with his friends who join him in the evening for a casual chat, makes you feel so comfortable. One of the memorable experiences in Thimpu is staying in this hotel for me. Best part was when a couple of guys in that group said they were in Bangalore for a while, and spoke few Kannada words. Felt at home.

Spent more than a week here; had a single room with hot water, for about Nu 500; The owner Sonam is an excellent man and speaks great English, Hindi and Bhutanese of course; The restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes including Indian; It is common to see a lot of Indian tourists staying here; Location: right across Clock Tower Square and close to everything, including local city bus/taxi station

The owner is friendly and he was really helpful during our trip to Bhutan! He gave us tips on what to do, where to go, how to get a SIM card etc etc. The hotel is located in the central area right in front of the clock tower.

This is the worst hotel in the whole of thimpu. We reached the hotel at 9 pm and we asked for dinner as the whole city was closed by then . They simply refused to provide us with any food. The rooms were in a horrible condition with no taps and stinky bedrooms. And the worst part was the owner of the hotel he had misbehaved with everyone at that hour and he asked leave the hotel immediately. They even locked us out so that we could not collect our luggage. The owner was drunk and the staffs were non corporative. He behaved very badly with the family with 4 Children with us. At that hour with full bookings in the city we had to find a hotel somehow and spend the night. We even had to pay the full amount. Worst experience. Be aware.

We were looking for a restaurant that serves Indian vegetarian food and our guide suggested this place. It is located on the second floor of the building and does not have an elevator. The Indian dishes we ordered were good. I also tried Ema Datsi, which I liked. However, could not finish all the chillies. The place was quite busy with a lot of mostly Indian tourists. The noise level was also high.

Decent Thali with Chicken. Don’t expect too much but we went there with guide after another place was slow. Spicy food and a bit high in masala. But tasty.

This dhaba is in the middle of Bhutan's Thimphu city. The food is very good and seems like Indian one. Being an Indian or Bhutanese one can expect to have nice vegetarian food. Even here food is available in both non-vegetarian and vegetarian food. As a foodie, it's a nice place to have vegetarian food I can say. Very spicy food, they serve only veg and non veg thali that too without roti( a Roti they serve only in dinner). Ambience is okay and the view you get is good. Value for money I can say veg thali cost around 150Nu

Its is good with spicy foods. It also has a TV so that we can eat and watch and if you are on a date and have a child. You can keep your child outside at a mini playhouse called MPH

OVERVIEW As a cynical critique, the major food flaw is that it deviates way too much from its expected outcome and it often resorts to cheaper alternatives. Although the quality of the food was quite substandard, the cheaper price of the dishes and more options of different takes on the same dish, makes it more inclusive to a variety of customers regardless of their price range. FOOD There are multiple major flaws with the various dishes I tasted which I believe the chef may have overlooked. 1: To begin with "Jhol Momo" is often associated with a thicker coated mono(Typically fried) to prevent taste gradation of the broth, while it is often dipped in broth of different flavours or spices to create a diversity of taste upon consumption. This restaurant however has made absolutely no change to the dumplings and just dropped them on to the very dull watery salt-soup, with only chilly spice being it's major taste factor. HORRIBLE! 2: The major flaw with this dish "Beef Thukpa" is the excess of water. I believe the chef may have added the noodles very early onto the liquid mixture, since the noodles were very soggy. The meat used in it was also very minimalistic in terms of tasks and quantity.

Best in Thimpu. Very tasty food and good service. Must visit if you are a beef and pork lover. Their thukpa, momos and Chow mein are very tasty. Quality, quantity for a decent price. Also you will get Indian parathas.

The Momos are along with the Momo restaurant at the Farmer's market the best in town. It is crowded by locals. When you take the first bite of a Momo, you know why. I ate the fried beef momo, and I could have only eaten those the entire Bhutan trip. Recommend to go :-)

Momo is good, and they have innovated mono+thukpa=Mothuk. Generally the food is not bad and it's frequented by locals. Very crowded. I bring my family here often, and noticed that hygiene is not great. Can see stains on the cups and they give you really wet cups. (Tap water still dripping down the plates and mugs.) And staff look overworked, exhausted and frustrated...they don't event attend to you properly. Not rude, not polite, just not passionate about the work. The owner needs to inspire them and incentivise them.

It is a decent place and very affordable. Tried their veg cheese momo which was good, chicken fried rice was average.

One of the good restaurants to try out typical Bhutanese cuisine with your family or friends. Good food with good surroundings for kids as well.

Being a tourist we wanted to try the local food. The owner was gracious enough to explain us the dishes. They have a changing menu each day which is amazing. We loved the Jashan Maru and Red rice. It was perfect. The food is great and their service is nice.

The restaurant you find in the Royal Textile building The decoration is so good and you will enjoy music during the serving of foods. Usually they cook foods when you order and it should be freshly cooked but sometimes it takes a lot of time to serve. You will find momo, local Bhutanese foods, coffee, liqueurs etc. but they don't serve fast foods. I recommend this restaurant if you come to visit the Royal Textile Musiaum Building.
