Restaurant
Nestled just a stone's throw from the university, Foša is a quaint port that boasts one of the finest fish restaurants along the Adriatic coast, sharing its name. A short stroll up from Foša leads you to Zadar's iconic Land Gate, adorned with the Lion of Saint Mark—a nod to Venice’s rich history. This gate is part of Zadar's impressive fortification system, recently recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and crafted by renowned Venetian architect Michele Sanmicheli.
We stumbled across this restaurant while walking along the prominade after visiting the sea organs. It looked really nice from across the harbour all lit up in red lighting so we made our way around. We were shown to the bar by a nice tall gentleman who was very courteous. We intended to have just one drink and leave but the bar staff were so friendly we spent a good portion of our night there sampling all the different cocktails. The bartender Lea was extremely friendly and welcoming, she explained to us the menu and what she had created her self. She even made me something unique that was not on the menu. The other Bartender Theo was really chatty and invited us back but unfortunately this was our last night in Zadar. We didnt eat, but the drinks and service were absolutely top tier.

The location was truly lovely, with a beautiful view of the marina. The service was excellent – our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly, which really elevated the experience. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet expectations. From the starters, the beef tartare was excellent, but the tuna tataki was rather underwhelming. For the main courses, the fresh truffle garnish was a nice touch visually, but its flavor got lost in the dish. A major disappointment was the “breaded oysters” – I was expecting fresh oysters, but what we received resembled small schnitzels. I would recommend sticking to more classic preparations rather than experimenting too much. Overall, a great spot for the atmosphere and service, but I’d be selective with the food next time.

From the second we stepped into Foša, we knew we were in for a treat. Nestled in the heart of Zadar old town, the restaurant welcomes you with warm lighting, elegant decor, and a calm, inviting ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The outdoor terrace with the sea next to you gives a feeling of luxury and tranquility. The food is an art for your eyes and a simphony of flavours that danced on the palate. Each mouthful was delicious, and the presentation just blew us away. Chef Damir Tomljanović took us through a trip of flavors. His artistry in the kitchen transforms quality ingredients into memorable moments. Despite a crowded restaurant, he took the time to come and say hello at our table and gave me the pleasure to take o photo with him. A humble genius with a passion for his craft. The attention to detail and devotion to guest service distinguishes you from the competition. The waiters with their genuine warmth and courteousy made us feel at home and ensuring that our whole meal experience was flawless. Foša is not just a restaurant; it’s a destination. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply want to treat yourself to top-tier cuisine and service, this gem deserves every bit of its acclaim. We can’t wait to return.
Marina Z — Google review
It was a terrible experience. To begin with, we had to wait a long time. They told us there would be dinner and service until 1 a.m., so we went at 9:30, but the service was bad. The guy at the door didn’t seem welcoming at all—he was busy drinking and wasn’t polite. The waiters weren’t nice either. We ordered ribs, and they brought them on a grill, but the fire went out, so the ribs were raw and awful. We asked if they could light the grill again or cook them in the kitchen, but they said the kitchen was already closed. This happened two weeks ago, and honestly, the whole experience was horrible. The drinks weren’t very big either, and the electric candelabras gave off a terrible smell that triggered my allergies. On top of that, there were lots of people smoking around us, which made it really uncomfortable. And we spent aprox 140 euros for all 😔

I don’t usually give five stars but really love many aspects of this place! Especially the view! The food was great too, the service was really good everyone is really nice

Beautiful restaurant in a stunning location! The service was impeccable and the food absolutely fantastic. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Zadar!
Denise D — Google review
The service and ambience was great, sadly the food was below average and it doesnt match price = quality ratio. Would i return? Probably only for a cocktail at the bar as the terrace has a nice vibe, if they didnt have that, there is not much to it!
Veronika B — Google review
There are better rated restaurants in Zadar, however they are much larger, much busier, with poorer service and poorer ambience. And their food is just equal plus or minus depending on what you get. Make a reservation to be on the wall, even ask for the corner. You will overlook the water and receive exceptional old style service. The appetizers are interesting and outstanding, we went with seafood for our mains and it was very well done.

Restaurant
Restoran Bruschetta is a relaxed restaurant and pizzeria located in the heart of Zadar, offering a spectacular view of the sea at sunset. The modern and cozy ambiance, along with top-notch service and a great selection of wines, makes it an ideal place for a gastronomic experience. The menu features Mediterranean and Dalmatian delicacies made from fresh seafood caught by local fishermen, as well as meat from local farms and seasonal vegetables from the Zadar region.
Wow, this is the best Sicilian-style beef I’ve ever had! The grilled vegetables—especially the zucchini, mushrooms, and bell peppers—were incredibly juicy and flavorful. Probably the best grilled vegetables I’ve ever tasted. The mussels were sweet, and the bruschetta was also delicious. The service was excellent, and the wine they recommended paired perfectly with the meal. Definitely a must-visit!
Yoli S — Google review
We enjoyed the seafood platter, shrimp risotto, and mussels—each dish was cooked to perfection. The platter was a fresh, flavorful showcase of the Adriatic, the risotto was rich and beautifully balanced, and the mussels were tender and incredibly savory. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance made the whole evening feel special. If you’re in Zadar and love seafood, this place is an absolute must!
Matthew M — Google review
We had a date here with my girlfriend, and the place left us with the best impressions. The atmosphere is cozy, with a great waterfront vibe. The service was 100/10. Our waiter, Yosip, was incredibly attentive and friendly: not only did he recommend dishes, but he also explained in detail how to properly eat a langoustine and shared other useful tips. Huge thanks to him for such excellent service! The food was very tasty, and the portions were large. Two dishes are enough for two people to feel full. We ordered three and ended up absolutely stuffed — just as our waiter had warned us, and we were especially grateful for that. We really appreciated the fact that, even without us asking, the dishes were served already divided into portions — each on its own plate. A small detail, but a very pleasant one.

The waiter knew his wines very well, knew exactly which one would suit our dish. Everything was freshly prepared, down to the massive chicken nugget aka a huge breaded chicken fillet which went down a treat with the kids, who were stuffed. Portions are massive unlike any other restaurant we have visited in the last week in Zadar. I've recommended this place to people years ago, and will continue to do so again, you will not be disappointed.

We had an amazing dinner at Restaurant Bruschetta in Zadar. Everything we tried was incredibly tasty! We started with fish soup and bruschetta, followed by their house bread with cheese and olives – such a great combination. For the main course, we had John Dory with ravioli and tuna steak with vegetables, both cooked to perfection. To finish, we enjoyed a soufflé and cheesecake for dessert – the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. As photographers, we also took some great photos, and the food tasted just as good as it looked. Our waiter Josip took excellent care of us throughout the evening – he was kind, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. All the staff were very friendly, and we even had a nice chat at the end of the night. We’d highly recommend Bruschetta to anyone visiting Zadar – it’s a must-try restaurant!

Hands down the best restaurant in Zadar. We come back often and it never disappoints! John dory filet was so soft and juicy. Cold fish plate and all desserts are highly recommended as well! The hostess is lovely and very accommodating, as well as the waiters! Will come again 100%

We were looking for great restaurant in Zadar while on coffee and found out about this place. Staff is amazing, food even better, portions are really big and everything is homegrown which makes the taste even better. Definitely coming again when in Zadar, we need to try rest of the food. The menu features high-quality ingredients such as truffles used to garnish monkfish and dry porcini mushrooms to flavor the steak.
Such a beautiful restaurant with an ambiance overlooking the sea. The staff is incredible they really made me feel like royalty especially Anton ( the older gentleman)

The best service in town! Our waiter Lovre was so attentive and polite. He made sure we had everything perfect for our anniversary date, and as the youngest waiter in restaurant he was first class! He perfectly introduced us the menu and presented us everything to feel sooo sooo welcome. The food he recommended was very delicious and well made. Breathtaking restroom was cherry on top! Thank you Lovre for the best service and unforgettable night!

This restaurant is at a much higher standard for food, service and ambience. The matradine was fabulous and the waiters go out of their way to help you have a really enjoyable evening. We visited twice and on both occasions the food was delicious and tasty.

Best food we have had in Zadar. Great service. Wine divine and cold. (Didn’t have to add ice) Great menu. Bread fresh. Amazing bathrooms. A lovely dinner which one could not fault. Great music soundtracks. Highly recommend.

Nice location right by the water. Service was excellent I must say, very attentive staff. Food was great, I made a reservation for this place well in advance after researching the top restaurants in Zadar. We were here in slow season so it wasn’t busy but I would book a reservation to be sure. This is a more expensive place I’d say so just be mindful. We payed 100 euros without wine just an fyi!

This is an excellent restaurant. Expect white tablecloths and friendly service. It is on the pricier side of what we spent in our stay in Zadar but not by too much. There is a cozy indoor dining area but if the weather is nice you can enjoy the "outdoor" area that is completely encased with large glass that allows for an excellent view of the harbor and Adriatic Sea. One of the few places you can get scorpion fish in the city that we were able to find which the waiter expertly served to us at tableside. They also have an excellent olive oil from a farm on the island of Ix that still visits me in my dreams. I highly recommend that you try it with fresh homemade bread! I didn't know olive oil could be so good until I tried it at this restaurant. I would return just to eat bread with olive oil alone but I doubt I could resist ordering some classic Croatian dishes along with it. Very nice experience with waiters and owner overall!
Kenneth L — Google review
We had a truly wonderful evening! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests and even enlarged our table without us having to ask — such thoughtful service! A special thanks to Ante, who was more than attentive and made the entire experience feel seamless and warm. The food was excellent — the mussels, in particular, are highly recommended. From start to finish, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

Their culinary team crafts a variety of pizzas, grilled dishes, and pastas to cater to a wide range of tastes, from vegetarians to meat lovers. The BEST cheesecake in my life! You need to try it, believe me! Pasta is average, pizza is so-so, prices are not low, but cheesecake is fantastic! Portions are very big. I couldn’t finish even half of it.

Nice restaurant with great food, outdoor patio with lots of plants and roof facing nearby road, and ondoor AC seating. Some typical dishes, pizza, fish ect. Main meal 19-35€, great portions tho and smily staff:)

I loved this place! The service is impeccable, the environment is very clean and well decorated. The food? Well, it's excellent! We had black spaghetti, carbonara, pizza, and spaghetti Bolognese, and we can only praise the quality of the ingredients, the generous portions, the hygiene, and the taste of the food! I don't usually go back to the same restaurant when I'm traveling, but I had to go back twice because I couldn't stop thinking about the food there. Thank you, Mamma Mia!

Great dinner, excellent service and good Italian food. We came a group of 15 family members, tried the mama mia salad, lasagne, pizza and pasta... Everything was good and tasty, service with a smile. Mostly recommended!!!

Fish was good - catch of the day - Sea Bream Pasta with salmon and shrimps was ok as there wasn’t much fish but more pasta
Atlantic L — Google review
I expected a little bit more from the restaurant according to their ratings. The shrimp risotto didn’t resemble a risotto at all. It tasted like a rice cooked in shrimp water with added seasoning. The shrimp on the top wasn’t cleaned and the meal contained only 2 tiny shrimps.
Horvath R — Google review
Nevjerojatno ukusan cheesecake 😋. The pasta and caesar salad were okay. We arrived at about 10pm, and many options from the menu weren’t available — like bolognese and most of the desserts. But I would come back just for that cheesecake 🤤.

Restaurant 2Ribara is a modern and stylish dining spot located in the heart of Zadar's historic city center. The restaurant features a relaxed ambiance with a terrace and a restyled minimalist interior, including a glass-encased, stainless-steel kitchen and wood-fired pizza oven. It offers an extensive menu that includes traditional Dalmatian dishes, fresh seafood, meat meals, pasta courses, and delicious wood-fired pizzas.
We visited this place 2 times during 2 days and we were amazed by the good prices, great service and unbelievably delicious food and relatively good prices. During both visits we had the same welcoming waiter serving us with kindness and respect. Great service! Before that we tried other restaurants in Zadar but there you feel like a wallet and that only your money is wanted. Here is nothing like this. The food was made with love, very well arranged and incredibly delicious. We also got a welcoming plate with bread. The atmosphere is modern, new and warm. I was very surprised how the place was not fully occupied. I recommend both hands! 🫰 We didn't make reservation in advance.

Day trip to zadar. The black risotto is delicious. Nice, quiet atmosphere inside, and if you like to, people watch outside. It is nice too. Love the fish trio. I definitely recommend this place to give it a try Love the ambiance. Good service

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Italian restaurant, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was very good, offering authentic and flavorful dishes that truly captured the essence of Italian cuisine. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were rich and clearly made with care. The atmosphere is another major highlight. The interior is very beautiful, featuring a warm and inviting décor with tasteful Italian accents that make you feel as if you've been transported to a cozy trattoria in Rome. However, the real star is the outdoor space. The terrace is very large and comfortable, providing a perfect setting for a relaxed lunch or a romantic evening dinner. It's spacious enough that you don't feel crowded by other tables. Best of all, the prices are very affordable for the amount of food you receive. The portions are generous, ensuring you get excellent value for your money. This restaurant successfully combines great food, a beautiful and comfortable ambiance, and reasonable pricing. I highly recommend it

Got a recommendation from a local to eat at Dva(2) Ribara and it was really fantastic. The food, the service and atmosphere were great. Price is very fair for the amount and quality of food you get. The fish platter had a good variety of fish, mussels, squid and prawns. We came on a very quiet night (April) and it is surprising that it wasn’t packed because the food was fantastic. Go there, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was very good – I especially enjoyed the black risotto, which was excellent, though a bit too runny for my taste, so I’m giving it four stars. The waiter Davor was fantastic – friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I really liked the atmosphere. Located in the heart of the old town, you can truly feel the spirit of historic Zadar. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Delicious and generously sized fish platter for two. The starter The Flavours of the Sea (Ukusi mora) was great. A very kind and professional waitress served us.
Adrian M — Google review
While the presentation of the dishes was visually appealing, the taste did not match the aesthetics. The food was bland and lacked the flavor profiles that one would expect. It felt like the dishes were missing essential seasonings and fresh ingredients. I tried, and despite their attractive appearance, they were ultimately forgettable.
Ekaterina K — Google review
Absolutely delicious food! The tuna pâté is perfect for sharing as an aperitivo, and the dagnje na buzaru were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Portions are generous. The restaurant is clean with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The wine selection was excellent and paired beautifully with the meal. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Zadar, Proto Food&More is a delightful culinary gem that showcases the rich flavors of traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Located conveniently near the historic center, this charming eatery specializes in an array of seafood dishes featuring freshly caught fish and shellfish, alongside mouthwatering meat options. Whether you're craving a casual meal or something more refined, Proto Food&More promises a unique dining experience that captures the essence of local gastronomy.
The restaurant serves delicious food. I ordered a grilled tuna steak with sesame seeds. It was done exactly how I ordered it - medium rare. That’s the best tuna steak I had in this part of Croatia. It was served with potatoes and margold. The serving portion was enough. The other dish we ordered was grilled squids with the same sides. Squids were done perfectly (not rubber-like taste). We came around 5pm so we didn’t wait long for the food to arrive. It gets busier in the eve so it’s better to book a table in advance. The service was kind and attentive. It’s better to pay by cash but they accept card payments. We had a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Lunch consisting of various cold fish & seafood cuts was excellent, especially the tuna pâté. Main course “fish trio” including monk fish was a great choice too. Price was reasonable. Only not so great thing to point out was undercooked eggplant as side dish and our sleepy yet attentive waiter. 😊
CIGDEM G — Google review
I recently dined at a this cozy restaurant in the central part of the city. The ambiance inside was warm and inviting, though I found the outdoor seating a bit uncomfortable due to the high chairs, which didn’t feel ideal for a relaxed dinner. The food, however, was exquisite—delicious and beautifully prepared, showcasing the chef’s expertise. Unfortunately, there was a slightly odd moment that detracted from the experience. After our meal, we wanted to order dessert, so I asked the waiter for the menu. To my surprise, he responded by asking, “Why do you want a menu?” When we explained that we wanted to order dessert, he verbally listed the options instead. While the desserts offered were tempting, I would have preferred to browse the menu myself to make a more informed choice. This exchange felt a bit off-putting and detracted from an otherwise pleasant evening. Overall, while the food was excellent, the service could be improved to ensure a more seamless dining experience.

We sat down for a late dinner. I ordered the surf ‘n’ turf and my girlfriend ordered the fish soup, salmon filet and fries. My dish came with truffle pasta and shrimp and a rump steak. The steak was cooked medium rare however it could have done with some more seasoning. The pasta was adequate. My girlfriend really enjoyed her meal too. This is defiantly the better restaurant out of the ones we have seen. I wouldn’t consider this as much of a tourist trap as the other restaurants in the old town. Our server, Martin, was just amazing. Super kind and friendly. He definitely made the experience much better.

Don’t change what’s good! After being recognized by the waiter from two days earlier, we were welcomed with a nice Prosecco. We enjoyed our monk fish and white and black tuna with a nice white wine. After our delicious dinner we received a complimentary digestive from the waiter. We had a great time. Compliments to the chef and the waiter (too bad I didn’t catch your name. Absolutely lovely place to visit as a tourist. It looks modern, isn’t pretentious, service is lovely, fish is cooked to perfection, great location and brilliant service. I did not feel ripped off by any of the experiences. Perfect place eat dinner in zadar we had a fabulous time !! 5 stars to our lovely waiter :)

You can't leave Zadar without eating here! During our visit to Zadar we came across this restaurant. After some hesitation we decided to go in anyway, this turned out to be the best choice during our entire stay! The price/quality ratio is excellent and the food is delicious, best in town. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and very polite. We can't stop talking about this restaurant. That's why we even decided to eat here again the next day. The second night there was an incident with the roof of the conservatory/veranda. The staff could not do anything about this and handled the handling of this incident extremely professionally. I would be nothing but praise and positive about this restaurant and as soon as I'm in the area I will definitely come back here for a delicious meal!

Restaurant
Restoran 4 Kantuna, located in the heart of Zadar's old town, is a charming rustic-chic destination offering a delightful culinary experience. The restaurant's terrace provides a perfect setting to savor pasta, pizza, seafood, and wine. Renowned for its fresh fish and seafood dishes, as well as meat options, risotto, gnocchi, and homemade pasta like Istrian fuzi.
We ordered: homemade pasta with shrimps - it was just too unique and unusual - 4/5, black risotto - very tasty - 5/5, & pasta with beef and truffles - so so good - 5/5. Service was also great, the waitress was really nice and cute. We didn’t have to wait for ages to get served. Wait time for food was ≈15 min and the whole restaurant was full of people!!! Atmosphere was as well good, everyone was happy, friendly. In general it’s a great place to meet with your friends and family, nice food, great service and atmosphere!

We had an amazing dinner here! The waiter was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was incredible, all four dishes my family and I ordered were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. To finish, we had the Basque cheesecake, which was one of the best I’ve ever tried (if not the best!). Everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

We had a great experience at this restaurant! We ordered the black risotto and the sea bream, and both dishes were delicious with generous portions. The atmosphere was very pleasant, everything felt just right. A special mention goes to our waitress — she was outstanding. Her recommendations were spot on, her service was warm and professional, and we really enjoyed our discussion with her. She truly elevated the whole experience. Highly recommended! 🌟

Wow! This was an excellent experience. We ordered the octopus salad and fish soup for starters and for the mains black risotto and fish platter for 2 people. The food was really delicious and fresh. I especially enjoyed the fish soup. We will definitely come back!:)

A Wonderful Dining Experience in the Old Town 🍷 Great restaurant in the heart of the old town — definitely worth making a reservation! The team was warm and attentive, and they were especially kind and patient with my child, which made the experience even better. We started with the seafood platter — fresh, well-prepared, and a great way to begin the meal. The calamari were perfectly grilled, tender and flavorful, and the shrimp risotto was rich and creamy — simply outstanding. The wine list was excellent, offering plenty of options to complement the dishes. If there’s one small note, the main portions could be a bit more generous — everything was delicious, but we were left wishing for just a little more. The desserts, particularly the crème brûlée and the cheesecake, could also use some improvement, as they didn’t quite match the high standard of the rest of the meal. Overall, though, it’s a lovely spot with great food, wonderful service, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend!

I always think the sign of a good place is when it's full... & the sign of somewhere exceptional is when there is a queue to get in! There was a queue, but it was worth the wait. The food was exceptional. I chose the beef cheeks with homemade gnocchi which was fantastic followed by the chocolate souffle with raspberry coulis & ice cream, which also was a delight to consume & washed down with something different for me, Karlovacko Radler, which was very refreshing especially on a warm evening. If you're in the City for a visit I would seriously recommend this place, but do make a reservation!

Stumbled upon this cool resto whilst on a stroll in Zadar. We sat outside and had dinner. The food was very good and the service was top notch. We got lucky that they managed to get a table outside for us. To be fair we were there early evening. The bruschetta was simply beautiful, the seafood pasta was perfect and the truffle pizza was delicious.

In the heart of Zadar, Croatia, lies Restaurant Groppo, a delightful dining spot offering Mediterranean flavors in a picturesque setting. The interior boasts modern warmth with its neutral tones and sleek furnishings. The menu features carefully prepared Mediterranean dishes such as fresh fish, seafood, and succulent meat options. Signature dishes include curd cheese from Pag with basil and tomatoes, homemade gnocchi with cuttlefish, tomatoes and peas, and grilled rump steak with mustard-caper sauce and potatoes.
Wonderful experience. We were served by Igor, who was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The seafood, cheese, and fish were all delicious. Lovely atmosphere and kind staff – we’ll definitely be back!

Tasty and fresh food with an amazing and lovely the staff. We had delicious dishes, flavourful and well seasoned. The interaction with the staff was the cherry on the top of the cake, they are very nice people that wanted to make sure that everything was perfect and even trying to learn a little bit of different languages. Definitely coming back when in Zadar again! PS: the view from the outside tables is absolutely stunning!

We had the meat and fish platter for 2. It was delicious. Very nice ambiente and helpful kind staff. They speak also German. Menu is in 5 languages. Prices are rather high but you also pay for the location and view. We paid about 50€ p.p. for main course with 2 drinks. We returned for breakfast which was very good and cheap. Interaction with the breakfast guy was very funny. Would come back again. It was very clean also. I liked the "shreded" butter (to make it melt faster so you can smear it on the bread), never seen that before.

Restaurant Groppo is located right in the heart of Zadar’s old town, offering a charming and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a summer evening. The food was tasty, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. Prices are slightly above the city average, but considering the central location and overall experience, they’re well justified. Great spot for a laid-back dinner in a vibrant setting.

After 10 years, I revisited this restaurant with its beautiful view of Kalelarga and St. Anastasia's Cathedral. I'm happy to report that nothing has changed; the quality remains at an impressive level. We were particularly impressed with our waiter, Darko, whose kindness and professionalism were truly outstanding. Many servers could learn from him how to build rapport with guests and provide excellent service. It's not always enough to simply take an order, and Darko understands that perfectly. As for the food, it was very good. We chose a set menu that included vegetable soup, pašticada, and panna cotta for dessert. The pašticada was excellent, the meat was so tender it fell apart with a fork. The wine selection was also very good. Although the prices might be a bit on the higher side, the overall experience was extremely positive.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice, but what really stood out was the exceptional service provided by Darto. His recommendations on which dishes to try were absolutely spot on and made the experience even more enjoyable.

Amazing location, exuisite interior, nice waiters and great food! What else could you ask for!? I chose them specifically because they had shark on the menu, and it did not disappoint! Homemade bread was a nice touch also. The wine list is big and features some great wines (wines on glass also avaliable). Great experience overall!

Had an amazing dinner here came here for dinner. We Order a huge tomahawk steak for the table which was amazing they bring the steaks right to the table and let you choose which one you’d like them to cook for you. They have many different steaks to choose from depending on the cut also a huge dry aged sections aswell depends on your preference. Nice that they have a vegan option and the Vegan burger was also incredible. Atmosphere is great and right on the harbour Great for indoor or outdoor dining. Service was very good friendly waiter and high end dinning experience. Definitely recommend for a good dining experience.

Stopped at this spot for brunch- they had a nice variety on the menu, the only reason I rated 4/5 was because there was a little blandness on the avocado toast. Overall, the breakfast was good & the new banana bread was delicious! Great views and I was told by a friend that eating here for lunch/dinner was a pleasant experience also.
Brooklyn C — Google review
I had higher expectations from this place. It started with a broken and dirty menu, which I had to request to be changed. Food: Starters were good, but the “anglerfish” carpaccio tasted like monkfish — and I strongly suspect that’s what it was. The pasta (paccheri) arrived cold, though the flavor was good, so I didn’t complain. The “dry-aged” salmon tasted exactly like regular salmon, which it most likely was. Finally, the filet mignon was served already sliced, which is, in my opinion, a poor choice. The presentation overall was lacking, and the sauces did not elevate the dish. I feel the menu should be more transparent and honest about what is being served. Positive notes: The wine was great, and the service was friendly.

Stopped for a quick lunch. It’s rare that I don’t have to season a restaurant dish, but these dishes were perfection! I had the hot appetizer of hand rolled pasta with veal ragout and truffles. Husband had the 4 cheese gnocchi. We couldn’t stop eating! Service was also exceptional. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic spot overlooking the harbour with great ambience. We went for a rare chateaubriand, with two sauces and sides. Steak comes herb encrusted and was excellent. Stand outs were the cheese sauce and vegetables.

Such a lovely little breakfast spot! It’s always quite busy in the mornings — and for a good reason. I came here a few times during our stay, and every time the food was delicious. I first tried the Eggs Benedict Royal with salmon, and then came back for scrambled eggs with bacon — both were super tasty. The coffee was nice too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a great breakfast in Zadar!

Coffee and cake is a delicious place to eat. They have a wide variety of items on the menu and generous portions. The coffee was some of the best we had in Zadar. We arrived around 10 AM during the height of breakfast. We were able to find a table within 5 to 10 minutes. Despite being busy, the servers are attentive, and ensure you are well taken care of. We had the sliders. You get three of them. One of them has micro greens and eggs. The other one had avocado, tomatoes, balsamic, and a creamy feta cheese. The third one is peanut butter and jelly with berries on top. It was the perfect portion and offered a balance of sweet and savory. You try their chocolate chip cookie, which was out of this world. The cakes also look amazing. If you’re looking for a unique place to have coffee and breakfast You need to come on by!

This place is just awesome - if you're a cake and pastry lover, you should definitely come here! They have so many different types and varieties of cakes, often changing based on the week or month. The coffee here is top of the line; you can get iced coffee too. The place is new, clean, and very welcoming. Typically no long line-ups, you order at your table.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and didn’t regret it for a second! Ended up coming here for breakfast every single day — the food is absolutely delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s usually quite busy, which speaks for itself, but the service remains fast and efficient. The waiters are like bees — always buzzing around, super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this spot if you want to start your day with great food and good vibes!

It's not called Coffee & Cake for a reason!! Found by accident, I don't do coffee, but I certainly do cake! And with a variety to choose from it was a bit of a challenge to decide what to have, but settled for the Oreo cheesecake which was absolutely delightful & an excelelnt hot chocolate, so thick you could stand the spoon up in it! Both hit the spot & didn't disappoint.

The Botanist is a must-visit raw food restaurant in Zadar, offering an unforgettable experience with its great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent staff. Whether you're a vegan or not, the carefully crafted menu and attentive wait staff ensure a delightful dining experience. It's renowned as one of the best vegan restaurants in Zadar, with original menu names that add to the excitement of choosing dishes. The restaurant offers top-quality food and juices at equally good prices.
This restaurant offers a really enjoyable dining experience, especially if you’re looking for good vegan food in a relaxing setting. The outdoor seating area has a lovely sea view, and if you go around sunset, the atmosphere becomes even more special – calm, scenic, and a perfect backdrop for dinner. The food was very tasty and thoughtfully prepared. The vegan menu is creative without being over the top – familiar ingredients used in interesting ways. Everything we tried felt fresh and well-balanced, with a nice mix of flavors and textures. It’s clear the kitchen puts effort into making the dishes more than just standard vegan options. Service was excellent. Our waiter, Luka, was friendly and professional, offering helpful suggestions and checking in at just the right moments. He made the experience smooth and welcoming. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed evening with quality food, great service, and a beautiful view. Would definitely go back.

The food, location and the atmosphere is amazing. As a vegan the one thing I miss is ordering a lasagna at a restaurant, so I was so happy to see it on the menu - and it definitely didn't disappoint as it was by far the best lasagna I've ever had! We were so excited that we went there two days in a row and all the food was so delicious. It was great to finally have a chance to have a proper fine dining experience as a vegan and see such a variety of people enjoying great food, regardless of their diet.

This restaurant is truly a vegan paradise. The service stood out immediately — our waiter was not only attentive but also highly knowledgeable and experienced, which elevated the entire dining experience. The drinks were well-prepared, and while I work as a barista myself and noticed a few small details I might approach differently, they were still enjoyable and thoughtfully made. The setting is unbeatable — with the sea in the background, the atmosphere easily feels like five stars. I ordered the salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and left me feeling nourished; my body genuinely thanked me for it. The rest of the table had the burgers, which were clearly prepared with care and love. My vegan partner especially appreciated that here, a latte comes vegan by default — no need to specify oat milk, since it’s already the standard. Overall, the combination of excellent service, high-quality food, and a beautiful atmosphere makes this restaurant a must-visit. The cheese cake is the best option for dessert after i tried all of the menu 🤣

Amazing place! The atmosphere is very romantic and the service is excellent. They bring you fresh bread to nibble on while you wait, and both the cocktails and the rakia are top-notch. We were mightily impressed to find this Vegan gem in Zadar! The location, atmosphere and superb food - fine dining with normal portions and at reasonable prices! Yes, the "steak" isnt "cheap" BUT there is plenty of choice at lower cost and even then, the Vegan steak experience was well worth it! To round it off, for desert we had the fluffiest cheesecake ever! 🤤👌 Highly recommended! 🌱💚💚💚🌱

An Exceptional Dining Experience – Compliments to the Chef and Gino! Our dinner at The Butler in Zadar was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of our trip to Croatia. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. Exquisite food and amazing service. You can almost feel like a royalty, with the “butlers” swirling around and doing their best to leave a lasting impression. We enjoyed gazpacho (superb), veggies burger and beef “pasticada”. Visited today for lunch. Lovely place, nice atmosphere and attentive staff. I ordered grilled squid. Wow! What a portion...squid was cooked perfectly. It came with boiled potatoes and a very popular local chard. I never would have thought to have squid with this side. But the locals know best! Not only was it delicious, but I felt like I'd had a decent healthy meal. Very happy. I'll visit again and highly recommend it. This is not a fast food pizza place. It's a quality restaurant. Yum 😋

The food was simple but made with amazing ingredients, and the cozy atmosphere on the floor atmosphere made it even better. If you’re around Zadar, this place is a must visit!
Moises V — Google review
Book your table in advance, we had to wait a bit but it was worth it! The best food ever! Tortellini was just delicious! Mixed grilled portions are gigantic. Service was great and fast. It’s a very cozy place, one of my favourites on the work map ❤️

Lovely lunch at Konoba Rafaelo! We’re a Dutch couple and shared several dishes – everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. Relaxed atmosphere and super friendly service. Perfect spot for a midday break!
Sam R — Google review
Wow! We arrived without a booking and queued with two earlier arrived groups but were quickly seated out the front of the restaurant where the atmosphere was best. We ordered the mixed grill and it blew our hair back - sensational and very affordable selection of meats and chicken - recommend adding a side of pepper gravy and mixed vegetables for a feast that could easily feed four! (We noted most diners leave with a leftovers box) Started with a glass of house white and moved to a gorgeous red, recommended by our dynamic host who gave remarkable Ryan Gosling vibes! Great atmosphere, pulls a crowd and totally made our first night out in the beautiful Diklo area.

I had such a great experience at Konoba Rafaelo! The vibe was super cozy and welcoming, and the staff were all so friendly. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was packed with flavor and came out fresh and perfectly cooked, and huge portions. I 100% recommend this place! ❤️
Viktória G — Google review
Amazing service. We came in October when it was cool outside. Each table seemed happy. The grill keeps things cozy and warm. The shrimp pasta and beef pljukanci are awesome. But the best was their new off menu specialty - Hrvoje's grilled bread. He made it so perfectly on request (I felt bad asking but he was so nice). Another server came by to inspect how perfectly the bread was toasted 😅. It went great with our dinner. Highly recommend this place. Great food and great atmosphere.
Helen T — Google review
Great experience! The grill food was excellent — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The quality was impressive for the price, and the portions were generous. Very good value for money! There’s also a convenient parking place nearby, which makes it easy to visit. Highly recommend!

Bar
Tri Bunara is a charming pizzeria located in the heart of Zadar's Old Town, Croatia. It offers an intimate dining experience with an industrial-style setting. The restaurant is known for serving traditional Dalmatian cuisine, including mouthwatering pizzas and a variety of pasta dishes that showcase rich flavors. Despite being hidden off main thoroughfares near Hotel Bastion, it has gained popularity for its cozy atmosphere and delicious food.
100 points to this place, pizza and waitress Paula👍We came here because of the reviews and did not regret it! The only surprise at the end of the evening was why there was no queue, apparently we were just lucky, Pizza is incredibly tasty, service is lightning fast even with a full seating! Only admiration, the best reviews and recommendations! Definitely a visit for every guest in Zadar, despite the large number of gastronomic points:)

There was only a short wait for a table, but perhaps that's a good sign for such a hot spot:) Everything was amazingly delicious, fresh and tasty. The toppings on the pizzas were generously loaded, the crust was as it should be, thin and crispy. Besides the quiet location of the place, it was the service that made me even more satisfied. Fast, bustling, yet attentive to the guests, kind and polite. I can only list good things, I recommend this place! If you are in Zadar, don't miss this place!
Bernadett D — Google review
great food, generous portions, fresh ingredients, very friendly staff, our waitress was sweet and took the time to explain some menu items for us, even tho the place was somewhat busy. you can expect to wait for a table anywhere from 5-20 minutes, not bad considering there’s shade and the experience there is worth the wait. both indoor and outdoor seating available.
Areen A — Google review
Long queues most of the time we were trying to get in. We had a large board of cheese, which was good, a pesto and burrata pizza and a mixed salad. Service was quick and friendly and food was tasty. They do take away as well. Wait was worth it
Cristian G — Google review
Best pizza in town! Be prepared to wait if there is a line....you won't be disappointed! Quick, friendly service by great waiter in a fabulous 👌 corner of Zadar.
Kerry T — Google review
This was the best pizza I've ever eaten. I was very surprised because the pizza wasn't oily at all. Most pizzas are drenched in oil, which I hate. But the (pizza) bread was the BEST bread in the entire world! I don't know how anyone can make such good bread. 5 out of 5 stars!!!

This is a quiet neighborhood eatery. Just off Zadar port near sea organ. Clean, good food with vegetarian pizza options. Not expensive. They offer tap water

Restaurant
Bistro Pjat, located in the heart of Zadar's old town, is a popular spot among locals for its delicious local dishes at reasonable prices. The interior resembles a typical Dalmatian city house dining room, and guests can also dine on the terrace throughout most of the year. The menu features various preparations of cod, especially during December leading up to Christmas.
Try their own homemade bread, prefect combination of crunchy crust and soft inside. Then, drizzle it with their family made salted olive oil from a nearby seaside village, Sukosan. The rest of the menu is pretty much what would be served at a local family's lunch table. Local and traditional food only. Excellent value for money.
Pavle T — Google review
What an absolute delight my dinner was. I was smiling from ear to ear the entire time. The staff were incredible. All were incredibly attentive, and I mean all of them. The food was on point, I had the fish stew, I was leaning towards something else (that would have been a mistake, nothing was left), potatoes and sauteed veggies maybe sauteed I don't know all I know is I ate them all, and a giant scallop or clam (my server called it a jaque). The meal was the highlight of my evening from start to finish.
Esteban H — Google review
Very tasty, traditional and affordable lunch options. Typical food you would eat with your family in Croatia, like stuffed peppers, seafood or meat stew, meat or squid with chard, pasta with beans or tomato sauce... Lunch menu changes daily. Great value for money, homemade bread, friendly service and a good mix of tourists and locals.
Ana M — Google review
This restaurant truly is amazing. We ate here once, but had to come back two days later because we felt like we hadn't experienced enough of the menu. Everything is very fresh and it is evident that the cook puts a lot of thought into the dishes. I saved this restaurant to my world favorites.
J. G — Google review
Bistro Pjat feels like one of those places you stumble upon by chance but end up remembering forever. Tucked away in Zadar’s Old Town, it has that rare mix of authenticity, warmth, and sheer culinary excellence that makes it a true hidden gem. The moment you step inside, you are welcomed into a space that feels more like a family gathering than a restaurant—cozy, unpretentious, and full of character. The owner? A legend. The real deal. Funny, honest, and completely in his element, making you feel like an old friend rather than just another guest. There is depth to the experience here, beyond just the food—it is a place that carries a story, a soul. And the food? Absolute perfection. Everything tastes homemade in the best way possible—inventive yet straightforward, fresh, high-quality, and carefully executed. The Bakalar Bianco was impossibly creamy, rich with flavor, and something I would not even know where to find elsewhere. Then there was the octopus čičvarda—a spectacular, deeply satisfying dish that felt as homely as it was special. The Mol (European hake) was a masterpiece—crispy on the outside, perfectly juicy on the inside, tasting the sea in the purest way. Every bite reminded me just how fresh and thoughtfully prepared everything is here. The wine selection is excellent; the bread and olive oil are just as they should be—top-tier—and the dessert? The perfect cherry on top. It does not get better than this. And the best part? The price is more than reasonable for what you are getting. A must-visit when in Zadar. Bistro Pjat is the kind of place you come back to, not just for the food, but for the feeling it leaves you with.

Worst restaurant in Zadar after more than a dozen good restaurants. Awful service from the waiter. We (2people) were supposed to shared 1klg mussels for starter. Then the bread came and looked like even the pigeons would have not eaten it. Then the mussels came, definitely not 1klg, sauce was like water and oil. The mussels were not cleaned… and overcooked - pictures for proof. We said that we were not happy, the answer was to bring us the bill. Definitely not interested to know why but getting our money. We paid for not eating and definitely not a nice experience.

This restaurant was recommended by my host at Zadar. It was worth visiting! The amount of food I couldn’t eat🤣 The service was very nice. Worth visiting!

Went here for lunch as soon as we arrived in Zadar. Food was decent, I enjoyed my meal but my wife wasn’t too impressed with hers (Women right). Service was kindve lousy, servers seemed to just forget about us after we were done eating, I wanted to order dessert and coffee but after waiting for so long I just wanted to get out of there. We had to actually go inside and ask for the bill because no one was coming. Not a bad place but not the best experience

Ice cream shop
Bob Rock's Ice Cream Shop is a popular spot in the old town of Croatia, known for its delicious ice cream. Located on a charming street, it offers a wide variety of flavors including vegan options. The shop is highly recommended by locals and visitors alike, with some even returning for seconds due to the exceptional quality of the ice cream. In addition to classic and premium flavors, they also offer creative options such as tiramisu, rocher, maxi, and lemon pie.
The best ice cream in town- we tried different ice cream spots every day when we were in Zadar and by far this was the best one! They have many flavors. We tried dark chocolate, mango, stracciatella, lime pie I guess, pistachio something and I guess the toffee flavor, they were all super duper yummmmyyyy!!!! You should definitely have ice cream there. They have 2 branches in Zadar old town
Lorna A — Google review
One of the best tasting gelatos I’ve ever had! Definitely visit - so good I went back twice!! The flavors are amazing and service is awesome. Don’t miss out!
Kami H — Google review
Beautiful place with great service. You can choose from various flavors, each of them is freshly made. Best ice cream I've ever had. Definitely good price and quality ratio. Best one I had was yoghurt pomegranate, definitely recommend that one.
Branislav K — Google review
I know quite a bit about good ice cream and this one is really, really good. Like someone in an earlier review mentioned: The pistachio ice cream is especially delicious. One of the best if not the best I ever had! We came here during our vacation and were so positively surprised that we came back to Zadar another day just to have another ice cream. 😅 Coconut and lemon are also recommended. 🫶🏽 Plus: The girls working there are friendly, scoops are a bit pricey but generous, and you can pay by card.
K D — Google review
Bob Rockys Ice Cream in Zadar has really grown – I remember their first shop, and now there are three locations in the city. This was my fourth visit to Zadar but the first since Croatia adopted the euro, and it’s a bit disappointing how much the prices have gone up. A scoop used to cost around €1.20, now it feels almost three times as much. That said, the ice cream is still excellent – rich in flavor, authentic, and it doesn’t melt too quickly. We tried flavors like Kinder Bueno, Kinder, Ferrero, Raffaello, and Oreo – all absolutely delicious. We stayed in Zadar for three nights and ended up coming back every evening for ice cream. Portions can vary a bit depending on the location and who serves you, but it’s still a place worth returning to.

Delicious ice cream. If you are an ice cream addict definitely try to avoid this place 😆 Recommend! Many flavours and ice cream was one of the best I ate so far. Overpriced? Yes. But I imagine keeping up with quality products is not easy either.
Julia ( — Google review
This place definitely has the best ice cream in Zadar. The selection is great, and the friendly staff recommended the Rocher flavor, which was a dream! They have another shop in the old town and should expect the same quality and variety.

Incredible Ice Cream and excellent Service! Sari is did her job so good and with so much passion. We enjoyed it really much. The Premium Ice Cream are highly recommended, especially Pistachio Tiramisu and Raffaelo/Coconut. 🍨 See you next time again!

Maguro Restaurant & Sushi Bar is a popular spot in the Zadar region, known for its use of high-quality bluefin tuna in their sushi dishes. The restaurant, located in the old town area, boasts a minimalist Japanese-inspired interior with a small indoor seating area and a spacious outdoor terrace. It offers an array of Japanese specialties such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, and curry alongside non-seafood options like beefsteak and hoisin duck.
Really nice lunch. Dishes were delicious, I had the Dan Dan noodle and it was FANTASTIC 😍 Wine paired so well with our food. And the waiter was perfect. Thanks !
Helene A — Google review
The place has a great ambience: calm and classy. The staff is also very friendly (we were waiting for our airport bus and they helped us charge our phones) We are vegetarians and ordered pad thai and poke. There was a string flavour of ginger and mushroom in our food so if you don’t like that then you’ll have to cherry pick those things out (like us, sorry) Not very expensive but not cheap either. Our bill was 31€ for the two veg mains.
Nishita — Google review
The food was not authentic and tasted acceptable. The half-cooked egg in the ramen was cold an probably from the fridge instead of freshly made. The price was too high for this quality of food. The waitress was not very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quite nice
Gabriel H — Google review
Really good sushi and pokebowl. Very small restaurant with only a few tables, so would advise to make a reservation or come early.
Jodi — Google review
Another year, another price increase. The menu remains unchanged, food good. Lovely vegan options. Personal favourite is the tofu poke bowl, would be fun to see some more experimental vegan sushi rolls (right now the makis, avocado, cucumber). It is just that as soon as I get charged for water, the place loses some credibility.
Julija K — Google review
Everything we ordered was very tasty, but the plates and the soy sauce pot were dirty. The tea cups were slightly chipped.
Viktoria K — Google review
A true culinary gem in Zadar. This tuna tartare is nothing short of exquisite – a harmonious composition of buttery fresh tuna layered over silky avocado, subtly enhanced by toasted sesame oil, delicate spring onions, and just the right touch of sriracha to awaken the palate without overpowering it. Each bite is a refined balance of texture, heat, and umami depth. Presented with elegance and served in an ambiance that complements the dish’s finesse, this tartare is not just a starter – it’s a reason in itself to return to Zadar. The attentive service and overall dining experience only elevated the moment. A must for any discerning palate

Best tuna poke Ive had in a while [ sorry the photo i took was after I ate some because I was too hungry]. Really did not expect the tunas to be very rich and juicy, combined with the perfectly seasoned sushi rice, fresh avocados, and tasty wakame! Highly recommended! Other menus are also very delicious!

If you're exploring the culinary delights of Croatia, a visit to Gligora Cheese & Deli is an absolute must. Nestled in Kolan on the picturesque island of Pag, this award-winning dairy specializes in Paski sir, or Pag cheese, which is a cherished local delicacy. Beyond their renowned cheeses, you can also find an array of other regional treats like wine, prosciutto, and olive oil available for purchase.
Assistant was very welcoming and helpful, we came away with two delightful cheeses and some prosciutto. Prices were very reasonable. Thoroughly recommend a visit. It is also right by the town market for excellent salads.

They have a wide variety of cheeses. We ended up buying four different ones and some meats to taste. The lady was absolutely charming. She was really kind and cut all the cheese blocks so it would be easier for us to eat it. She even put everything on a plate in a really cute way. Awesome service and great products.
