Such a lovely little breakfast spot! It’s always quite busy in the mornings — and for a good reason. I came here a few times during our stay, and every time the food was delicious. I first tried the Eggs Benedict Royal with salmon, and then came back for scrambled eggs with bacon — both were super tasty. The coffee was nice too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a great breakfast in Zadar!

Coffee and cake is a delicious place to eat. They have a wide variety of items on the menu and generous portions. The coffee was some of the best we had in Zadar. We arrived around 10 AM during the height of breakfast. We were able to find a table within 5 to 10 minutes. Despite being busy, the servers are attentive, and ensure you are well taken care of. We had the sliders. You get three of them. One of them has micro greens and eggs. The other one had avocado, tomatoes, balsamic, and a creamy feta cheese. The third one is peanut butter and jelly with berries on top. It was the perfect portion and offered a balance of sweet and savory. You try their chocolate chip cookie, which was out of this world. The cakes also look amazing. If you’re looking for a unique place to have coffee and breakfast You need to come on by!

This place is just awesome - if you're a cake and pastry lover, you should definitely come here! They have so many different types and varieties of cakes, often changing based on the week or month. The coffee here is top of the line; you can get iced coffee too. The place is new, clean, and very welcoming. Typically no long line-ups, you order at your table.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and didn’t regret it for a second! Ended up coming here for breakfast every single day — the food is absolutely delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The Benedict royale was my pick. It’s the salmon version. I little heavy but kept me going to whole day. If you sit outside, it’s a great place to watch the world walk by you because it’s right in the center of town. I added a coffee and fresh OJ.

We went at the Coffee and cake for the breakfast. The place is nice and the menu have lots of different options for vegetarian and non vegetarian. Coffee and hot beverages are great and all breakfasts sweet or salty can be choose. The service is fast and efficient.

It's not called Coffee & Cake for a reason!! Found by accident, I don't do coffee, but I certainly do cake! And with a variety to choose from it was a bit of a challenge to decide what to have, but settled for the Oreo cheesecake which was absolutely delightful & an excelelnt hot chocolate, so thick you could stand the spoon up in it! Both hit the spot & didn't disappoint.

Amazing experience! I highly recommend the beef cheeks – tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. We also had the Cheese & Citrus Salad – light, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere warm and authentic. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

Value for money and friendly service. I’ve been in Zadar for a few days and this is the only restaurant I’m rating because it’s the only one worth five stars.

Timel is without a doubt the best restaurant in Zadar. The food is always fresh, full of flavour, and prepared with real care – you can tell the chef makes no compromises on quality. Service is friendly, attentive and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Prices are very reasonable for the standard you get, and the atmosphere is relaxed but stylish. If you want the perfect balance of great food, great service and fair prices, Timel is the place to go.

My fish (sea bass) was excellent. Cooked to perfection. Most people cook fish for too long so it gets very dry. Spinach were very good. The greek salad was also excellent ! Highly recommended!

Worse food we had in Zadar Old Town. Food doesn't even look good. High prices. Salmon with potato puree - puree was just a pulp with no taste, sea bream with potatoes and chard - chard inedible and portion of potatoes looks like leftover from somebody's plate.

Located conveniently on the street leading to the city centre, has only outdoor seating area, the service personnel was really friendly, great food. Since it was off season, we were kind of the only guests and enjoyed the ambience of the street well. Don't hesitate to ask for sauces. It was on the house. Toilets are okay, use only if it's an emergency.

Very nice place! In May 2025, strawberries were €3-4 for 1/2 kg, and cherries were €6-10 for 1 kg. Parsley, for example, cost only €0.50. You can also buy goat cheese, fish, meat, and flowers. The market operates from 7 in the morning.

The market is divided into two main sections: a fish market with the day’s fresh catch and an open-air fruit and vegetable market with local produce from the surrounding region. The fish market is indoors and impressively clean. You’ll find a wide range of Adriatic fish – from sea bream and sardines to squid, tuna, and even shellfish. Most of it is caught the same morning, and prices are very fair. The vendors are friendly and happy to give tips on how to cook the fish Croatian-style. Outside, the vegetable and fruit stalls are full of seasonal colors and smells – ripe tomatoes, figs, olives, garlic braids, fresh herbs, and homemade products like olive oil, cheeses, and dried fruits. Everything here feels authentic and vibrant. You can also find local honey, rakija (fruit brandy), wine, and natural juices – often made by the vendors themselves or their families. These make perfect souvenirs or gifts. It’s best to go early in the morning when it’s freshest and least crowded. Great place for foodies, home cooks, or anyone looking to taste real Dalmatia.

Good and authentic market! Great selection of fish products with high-quality and fresh fish and seafood, good selection of vegetables and fruits. But no meat products and few dairy products... Anyway I highly recommend for visit this market 👌🏻

Fruit is good but be careful with scales and olive oil. It’s diluted and if tourist you will be a target. I found one local and bio certified one. You can also ask to see the recent chemical analysis from the owners. It’s a 10min drive. Check the video.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Italian restaurant, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Got a recommendation from a local to eat at Dva(2) Ribara and it was really fantastic. The food, the service and atmosphere were great. Price is very fair for the amount and quality of food you get. The fish platter had a good variety of fish, mussels, squid and prawns. We came on a very quiet night (April) and it is surprising that it wasn’t packed because the food was fantastic. Go there, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was very good – I especially enjoyed the black risotto, which was excellent, though a bit too runny for my taste, so I’m giving it four stars. The waiter Davor was fantastic – friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I really liked the atmosphere. Located in the heart of the old town, you can truly feel the spirit of historic Zadar. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Delicious and generously sized fish platter for two. The starter The Flavours of the Sea (Ukusi mora) was great. A very kind and professional waitress served us.

I was really disappointed with the Mediterranean mussels. They didn’t taste fresh, and when I ate them, they were cold and dry. The sauce was okay, but it couldn’t make up for the poor quality of the mussels… After we complained, they offered us Slivovica as compensation, but that still doesn’t make up for the fact that we paid more than €70.

Absolutely delicious food! The tuna pâté is perfect for sharing as an aperitivo, and the dagnje na buzaru were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Portions are generous. The restaurant is clean with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The wine selection was excellent and paired beautifully with the meal. Highly recommend!

I used to love this place... It used to have great waiters, solid drinks, reasonable prices. I used to love sitting here, reading a book, watching peoe stroll down kalelarga. I was one of four tables, relatively quiet, the waiter took his sweet time and even got my simple order wrong. What happened?

The cakes deserve zero. We rated them at 2 because the girl who served us the cakes was kind. However we went there because someone recommended the cherries ice cream but as 3 of us are not fun of cherries as it can be sometimes bitter we asked if we can try it first they said NO. This never happened to me before that an ice cream place they don’t offer tasting Not recommended at all.

Heaps of undercover seating across from the bakery to sit and people watch while having a drink and a cake. We had beer and a piece of Zadar cake (recommended by the very friendly staff-who spoke great English). The shop (like most in the area) also serve icecream (we didn’t try). Good place to relax.

The food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. After ordering at the counter, we sat at an outdoor table to enjoy our meal. Unfortunately, the waiter approached us not once, but three times to ask for payment—despite the fact that we were still eating and considering ordering more. We politely declined the first time, explaining that we might get something else, but he came back again, and then once more just as we were about to place another order. It made us feel uncomfortable and rushed. In the end, we decided against ordering more, paid the bill, and left with a bitter impression.

Visit this place if you want to experience the infamous Gen Z stare. The waitress didn’t get the order right, not apologized, and just had a serious attitude problem.

What a disaster! A homeless man entered the garden, sitting down at different tables every few minutes, and the staff walked past him several times without doing anything about it. It's not very pleasant to drink coffee accompanied by the unpleasant smell of a homeless person. Besides, the staff was COMPLETELY UNINTERESTED IN THE CUSTOMER. We moved to a table inside because it was unbearable in the garden—we had to clean the table ourselves, while the men did not interrupt their private discussion. A disaster and nothing more.

Terrible drinks and service. Literally just got served the wrong drink and told her and she just walked away. Mimosa had crappy orange juice and was completely absent of alcohol. The berry smoothie was gross and absent of taste. The outside view was the only redeeming quality.

I asked for a lemonade. When I tasted it, something was off with the taste, like the lemon was rotten. I told the waitress. She brought the drink away, and came back with what I think was the same glass of lemonade. The taste was still off, ice melted, looked like some more water was added. I told the waitress once again, that the taste is off. She insisted that it is freshly made, and doesn't know what the problem was. At the end I didn't get a new glass of lemonade...

Amazing! After having cocktails and beer there the night before we decided to come back and check out their breakfast menu. It was as delicious to the eye as it was to taste. The coffee was great! Both servers we had were super friendly and attentive. Beautiful lively location, definitely a place you’d wanna check out!

Menu looked nice if only they could take our order. Waited 15 minutes for service, and went inside to order at the counter where the man told me that someone will be outside to take our order, we waited a further 10 minutes with no acknowledgment until we decided to give our custom elsewhere. Bad service seems to be a running theme given from the reviews.

Really great pizza and a fantastic price to boot. We had the Slavonska and it was nice and spicy. Didn't finish it, it was too big and only 80Kuna. I can definitely recommend

Great little shop. There are great delicious pizza and other treats that still want to be tried. The price is great and the owner is amazingly nice and helpful. He knows the area and has great tips for trips and more. If we are back in Zadar in 8 days we looking for this great pizza again.

Tasty burgers for the reasonable price for the location on main tourist way. Fast Food Branimir was a good chance to eat late evening, when a lot of other places already closed or preparing for closing and don't serve the food. Staff was friendly and waiting time was not so long. Recommended!

ordered two smoothies, they look nice but taste like water, although the menu says they are made with apple juice. Didn't order food, but it looks great. The waiters speak English, but the first impression is 3/5. Smoothies ruined everything

Sitting outside. 2 adults and 3 children. Waiter was female in her mid 20s. No menus, my wife had to ask. Initially she only gave us drinks menus. Had to enter bar to ask for food menus. Her attitude was awful. No smile or anything that you would expect from a server. Seemed like she truly hated her job. Asked for no chocolate on the children’s croissants, this was a problem until we insisted- just don’t put chocolate on them, it’s not difficult. Eventually food arrived. The food was very good. No problem with quality of food. Service was awful. When I asked to pay the waiter was huffing and puffing, as if this was an inconvenience- my daughter wanted to tap my credit card to pay (she is 4yrs old) the waitress held the card machine just high enough so she struggled to reach the card machine, I then had to help her reach the machine to pay. Unbelievably poor service.Waitress was very rude and to be honest would probably suit a no customer service industry better. For this reason I would suggest to avoid this place. Unfortunate that one person can have such a negative impact on a family’s breakfast experience.

Banana smoothie is very bad, sauer, no taste of banana at all. Mango Smoothie is ok. Club Sandwich is bad, too dry and too much mayonese. Omlete classic is very good! Without oil, very fluffy, very tasty.

We just had a terrible experience...we paid for 6 pieces (sandwiches and croissants) and we found only 4 in the bag. SAME FOR a couple of friends, so it can be an error. The only word i can say is AROMA 3THIEF !!!

Worth Trying. Not a bad place for a snack, it is a pretty basic shop offering baked pastries and breads. Fairly average. Mexican burek is tasty for 1.9€ Cash or card. Doesn't take AMEX.

Nice burek in Zadar I can not say the best one maybe but if you need to decide with price and taste then I think I need to put first 3 places. Because its cheap and tasty. Always crowded and many people eat there. I can not say its a range of course but definitely it pushes me to eat. Also the waiters was so nice and so quick. I spent like 3 minutes to get my bureks and I tried potato, spinat& cheese and meat. Potato was soft and easy to eat. Meat version was a little bit crispy but still nice to eat and there are many meat inside of burek. I always prefer to eat spinach without cheese but I think not possible in Zadar because I tried some places and never found only spinach. Result definitely give a chance again!

Its very cheap compared to my hometown prices in Austria. Great place to get a snack or breakfast. For drinks i would better visit DM in the cebter of old town there you get it for 70cents instead of 3€.

When i jist entered the zadar old city i found hhis place and tried a piece of pizza and this tarte filled with cheese. I will not describe it as the best as i had better but for the price of t was worth it. For a quick snack not more that 3€ its the place to go. The lady was super nice as well

The best Börek in Zadar for only 1,50€! Get the SMALL Börek either with meat or spinach and cheese or just both of them! I tried three different stores in Zadar and this one takes the crown. The small ones are warm and fresh out of the oven. The baked goods or the local cake is also very good

Worst sandwich. The sandwich has half of slice of ham, 1/4 of lettuce and full of mayo. Only bread. I asked for more filling and they look at me surprised. I feel scammed Not recommended. Not come please

The pastries looked delicious, we tried their traditional apple and cheese one. It tasted quite nice. Ordered a cappuccino as well, it was very hot and not up to my liking. The service was warm and polite!

If you wanna grab a quick snack then this is the best . You can get croissants, bread and cakes as well. When I was in Zadar this was my go to place to get croissants and breads. I would recommend to go early in the morning to get a fresh bite of croissants . And during peak hours they make fresh bread and croissants as well .

An average bakery that specializes in Croatian breads and pastries. Its main draw is the location, that being in the middle of Old Town along the main "Siroka" street. Prices are ok, considering the location but it is closed on Sundays. I enjoyed their Spinach and cheese burek as well as the meat burek. Be careful though, due to its high profile location the bakery will run out of their more popular items, like meat burek.

Poorly trained staff and a food hygiene incident waiting to happen. Be better. Sunday afternoon. I popped in here as I thought I'd found an actual vegetarian sandwich. The Mexican wrap in the cabinet.... The lady advised it was vegetarian. Immediately on purchase I found not only does it contain chicken, but was also kept at ambient temperature and had been all day! Alongside the tuna ones! ☣️ When I tried to explain the risk of this, and why it meant I was not going to eat this the staff were confused and also unable to refund me seconds after I'd purchased it because 'I paid on card!'. That's entirely rubbish as there's no way a POS till system would only allow cash refunds! I tried to explain that contactless still supports refunds and asked for a different item as a replacement but the staff member felt fearful of being empowered enough to do that! Ridiculous that staff cannot have the autonomy to replace unsafe or sub quality products for customers due to lack of training and apparently lack of basic safety in food handling. Selling these meat wraps at warmer than room temperature is a public health risk and they need reporting up the local authority. And the staff need to be trained in using the till system. Avoid this place. Advice to management; train your staff, allow them to correct customer complaints and ensure they understand safe food practices followed. Not good at all. Be better.

I’ve never been treated this way in any place around the world. The seller a woman arround 45 with blue eyes who didn’t want to give me her name, was super rude and impolite by answering with 0 consideration and a lot of hate. When I asked for a glass of water she simply said no, and when i confronted her she started saying that this the policy of Mlinar etc anyways she was super rude and 0 consideration. Even in big palace in Paris if you ask for a glass of water they would give you that. Worst place in the world !

The beef borek was crunchy and warm, but the meat inside was too chewy, overall not a great choice. Pick another bakery to try borek.

We got breakfast here early in the morning. Pastries were good but I was charged for 2 coffees despite the cashier asking me how many I wanted and I said "one". I didn't notice until after we left but at least it wasn't very expensive. We got there 15 minutes after opening and the coffee machine still wasn't working so we had to wait. I feel like cleaning or starting the coffee machine is something that should be done before someone comes in asking for coffee.

Buy bread and cappuccino in the morning at about 10 o clock. Obviously the bread was not fresh and probably from the previous night. Also, the cappuccino was aweful. My wife just throw it away after first sip.
