This here is the definition of the ultra college dive bar in any SEC college town, absolutely packed and a ton of fun!!

You don't have to make someone feel like a leper because they're not college aged. Not everyone is out to harm someone because they are an older male. I was there just to enjoy the atmosphere and a drink but did not feel welcome with weird looks. Was kind of ripped off with the shot sizes and the price for a pint of beer. The second round of shot was larger because they could see my original frustration LOL so I thank him for that. Not too warm though.

Loved the prices of the drinkz. Other than that, I came here while exploring the area on an overnight w/ my CA n FO. The bar was quiet other than us 3, there were 2 male customers and the 2 guyz behind the bar. At one point, I and one other female customer were the only femalez. There's an updated jukebox that worx through an app or right there n person. Keep in mind that one song is worth 2 credits/ aka $1. If you open a tab, you must put a card on file. If you're like me and pay cash, then you will b expected to pay after each drink before you can order another. The drinx I got were good and under $5 each. I definitely recommend getn a drink here if anything. I didn't have n e food so I can't comment about food, and to be honest, I don't know if they offer food.

Beer was cheap. I didn't eat their food, I wasn't brave enough. Service was ok. I did meet some cool people in there. Overall good experience.

The male bartender is miserable and definitely treated us as outsiders. He was rude to a other people also

I've been hearing great things about this place from a few friends that frequent here especially about the food. Very fun atmosphere, good music. I didn't have any drinks but they seemed to have a good selection. Unfortunately, the food was rather disappointing especially since it was the whole reason I decided to come when I made it to town. Ordered the garlic knots & curly fries, can't remember what my friends ordered. The fries were the best part, sour cream would have been the icing on the cake. The garlic knots on the other hand were very dry & hard my mouth got tired from chewing. Due to how late it was (close to midnight) I'll chop it up to they probably thought everyone would have enough liquor in their system to be satisfied just to have food in their stomachs. I'll try this place during the day for lunch & see if the food is better around that time.

Very chill atmosphere with awesome drinks. Great variety of things to try. Staff was super friendly. Definitely recommend! They also have live music sometimes which is a lot of fun. The seasonal Vikings Blod Honey Wine was amazing!

Bry and Jacob set an amazing tone for this place. Super laid back friendly and welcoming. So glad I stopped in. It felt like home. Will be back. You guys rock.

The bill is tiny. It is friendly. They have a small selection of really great beers. They seem to have a lot more “art house” events if that’s what you’re looking for. . If you’re coming down to the fest they seem to host primarily outdoor acoustic events. And don’t worry they still had all your pbr deals.

Always love their services and drinks! A must visit in Gainesville. Plus they have good Guinness in town!

Pretty cool place, has a nice vibe. My friend Mark liked it. He's from Oregon. They didn't have cocktails though so it wasn't my cup of tea.

It's an arcade bar, exactly what you want for a fun night. Spacious and lots of spots you can post up and enjoy a chat and drink. Played some games, they all worked. Bartenders were quick and good. All mix of people

Very cool place, well stationed and decorated, I liked the multiple areas and sets along with the music accompanied. One gripe would be the poor customer service.

I think this place has a little bit of everything for all the tasets. If you want a bar, there are 2 sections for that. If you want to just play games, again, there are 2 rooms with a variety of games . If you want to dance upstairs is a dance floor! The music is overall good, and the drinks are quite well priced!

Nice bar!! They have a huge space, with different environments. There are a type of club, and 3 floors with a bunch of arcades game, like pinball, they also have a SNES with Super Mario game for free! On average the staff from the bar are very friendly! With affordable price for beers!

Barcade is a great go-to! There are multiple sections with different vibes (upstairs is more of a club vibe while the first floor is more laid back) and lots of pinball games. Drinks are nothing special, but you go there for the games, after all.

I'm visiting from Miami. I came to celebrate my sister's birthday. We decided to go to the arcade bar to do something fun to celebrate! We're standing outside of it and both doors are locked even though it's supposed to be open. One of the doors says be back in 5 minutes. We've waited 15 minutes and nothing. We left !!!

I had a really great time here. Tons of variety, and great options for alcohol. Felt like I was in college when I was here. I recommend coming with friends, at least one to have a good time. Also having money to drop is a pretty good idea, you’ll have more fun

Went to this bar last night with two girl friends just for one drink. I’m not sure if the bartender (brown haired male with a long ponytail) was having a bad day, but he’s was so rude/extremely condescending to all three of us. Started when one of my friends ordered a G&T and then asked to close her tab - which he responded with a rude remark. He made an additional remark when myself and my other girl friend closed our tab as well. Last thing he did was snap at my friend when she tried to move a barstool so we could all sit at a table together. I was shocked with how hostile he was since we had just arrived and had never spoken to him before/ever came to this bar before. I will not be returning and do not recommend this bar to anyone who is just stopping in for a quick drink. Although the G&T we got was very good, the bartender really ruined the mood and our first experience here. I hope no one else had to deal with his behavior that night.

I went in tonight and had the best experience. The bartender (blonde hair and tiny rimmed glasses) was amazing. I ordered a vodka grapefruit and my friend ordered a drink from the menu. A vodka grapefruit is my drink of choice and this was by far the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!!

Nice little hole in the wall. I went in on a Monday and the bar was packed with locals. The bartender with the curly blonde hair made tasty drinks. He was a little antagonistic to guests and sarcastically told me he only worked behind the bar for 10 minutes when I was trying to make conversation, but he seemed busy. They also don't serve the tables so make sure you go to the bar. Will be coming back!

The best cocktails in town!!! They know how to make unique and delicious drinks for sure! Highly recommend stopping in and getting a drink. Music is always on point too!!!

Wonderful bartenders. Literally the best whiskey sour I've ever had. This is the place to go when you want a good drink and a good conversation. This is my favorite spot to go read a book in the evening.

Hands down, the best bar in downtown Gainesville if not the whole city. The bartenders are masters of their craft, extremely well-versed in all things cocktail culture and fantastic hosts. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family; the perfect Mad Man style, mid-century modern decor is just the cherry on the sundae. I come here as often as my wallet allows.

This bar is beautiful! The drinks are extreamly strong, it's a fun old time feel to this bar. Some of the staff is nice and sweet, others are stuck up and snobby, hence the two misding stars. Other then that we had a great time.

Save your time and go somewhere else. Hundreds of better bars around it. Filled with a bunch of empty souls. No energy, no movement. Looks like a funeral always.

I got my second drink, and asked for an “extra dry” vodka cranberry. The bar tender said he didn’t understand what I meant, and served me a regular lemonade after throwing out the extra dry vodka cranberry after taking my tip. Never come here, unless you want to experience a bar full of inexperienced college drinkers and get served by dim witted bar tenders.

Top notch security!! Was able to spot my 20.989 year old friend taking a sip of fireball 4 days before her birthday and throw her out!! Great service.. was able to escort her down the stairs (which are very slippery) and tear her band off! Did take two tries to get the band off and she eventually took it off herself (so minus 1 star)!! Great music and cheap drinks (not for my friend though)!

Literally the worst place I have ever been to! I went for the first time after a football game and my fun night turned into one of the WORST experiences ever!!! There were 10 guys for every girl and all of them were super creepy! I expected college students but all of the guys were at least 35. I got hit on by the same people multiple times and even after repeatedly saying “no”, “please do not touch me”, “i’m not interested”, and more, they still did not leave me and my friends alone. I moved spots every couple minutes at the place cause i couldn’t even have a good time without some guy trying to creepily dance on me. One guy kept harassing me and tried to grab me and that is when i snapped and left. I know some people may enjoy this bar, but it is a TERRIBLE place for college girls, let alone anyone. Overall i had the worst time ever and will NOT be returning. It’s creepy, dirty, and the harassment is something i have never experienced anywhere else. You’re better staying at home but if you go, be prepared to push away creeps trying to dance on you and spike your drinks.

In the experiences I had with go out to different places I would say this is one of the worst places I’ve been too. The alcohol is cheap but you can get that at any other college bar. The bouncers and staff are terribly rude and the cover fee is wayyyy overpriced. In my opinion your better off elsewhere:(

Total beta boy bartending, and using this platform to work out his issues I walked in sober, and they had up a list of specials, but it was 12 minutes til turn of midnite, so i asked which of the specials pertained in the current moment. He replied curtly and unfriendly, that he would not serve someone who 'didn't know what day it was' I'm 52, arrived hoping to enjoy my first drink of the day, am a lawyer and carry myself kindly, in good humor, and well-dressed. His performance tonite is i hope an outlier by his own standards. And to confirm that, i'll be meeting with the bar owner to ensure the lad was just having a bad day.

Doing an unofficial pub crawl at 61. Was here at age 7, 21 and now 61. Ben is a tremendous bartender. Highly recommend and after Mothers 3 dollars long island and was offered 2 dollars at Balls. Ben and Corey are friends. Great time. Go Gators

Unless you want to go to a trashy dirty old hallway that resembles an over packed crackhouse where you feel like your going to catch something by walking into the tiny bathroom that has never been cleaned and has sharpe graffiti all over walls and door.. Don't bother with this dump.. If you like being in a stinky sardine can with dirty sweaty bodies bumping into you and no way to even walk thru, than this is your place. Not me, I will never be back.

The grossest place I've ever been. The floors, walls, and bathrooms are disgusting. The drinks aren't that cheap plus there's cover. Why would anyone go there with all the other options in midtown

It's a hole in the wall college bar. This bar is super cheap and frequented by college kids. It's not clean and the bathrooms are a new level of disgusting but we love it anyways.

Grimy dirty bar full of culture. Defiantly a dive bar feel. I hope the atmosphere never chances.

Staff was practically nonexistent. There were at least 5 people on staff but they all disappeared to the back leaving the whole floor unattended for minutes on end. Nobody had a good attitude and the place was clearly uncleaned. There were Oreos stuck to the table menu and the table next to us that had been “cleaned” still had water, ranch cups, silverware, and menus out for my whole dining experience. There was only one other customer in the dining area so the servers had no excuse to not fully clean a table.

I really enjoyed the service and the atmosphere at this establishment. Drinks were delicious and the food was amazing.

Takeout orders from Gator's Dockside in Jonesville have been very good. However, todays experience with the Fish and Chips was extremely disappointing. The fish portions were smaller (very small), than our past orders, and the texture was not as expected. Instead of the usual flaky texture, the fish was dry and chewy, possibly over-fried. The sides, onion petals and coleslaw, were good. The fish, being the main part of the dish, was a significant letdown. I couldn't eat them after that first bite. I hope this was an isolated incident and that future orders will reflect the quality we've previously enjoyed from here.

I’ve given Gators Dockside two chances in the past couple of weeks, and both times were a big disappointment. On my first visit, I ordered the Birria beef dinner. The beef was very dry, and the corn was burnt to the point of being inedible. I decided to give them another shot today, but unfortunately the French onion soup was even worse. It was so overcooked it tasted burnt, was extremely salty, and had the consistency of a stew instead of soup. To make matters worse, one of my guests was charged for items that were supposed to come with her meal, and her salad had the hard core of the lettuce head in it. The only positive I can mention is that the servers were friendly both times. But overall, neither I nor my guests enjoyed the food. The kitchen clearly needs a serious shake-up.

I always love some dockside, but I had an amazing experience this evening thanks to my server Kayla. She never let my cup run dry and was so polite not to mention how comfortable she had made me feel. She knew all of the best deals on the menu and helped chose the meal I thought was fantastic❤️ I will most definitely ask for Kayla next time

Mikey, my server, was excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and informative. I'll ask for his table again. The gyro was very good - not overly spicy. Side - Delicious mixed vegetables. Comfortable atmosphere.

Unfortunately, I hate to leave bad reviews But the one thing is, I do love food, and when I come across places that tend to not live up to their capabilities and rather highly disappoint, I do like to inform about it. We were served undercooked and cold food Had wait times of an average of 25 minutes in between appetizers and entrées. During our weight, we encountered roaches crawling on the floor. Unfortunately, all in all the food was decent. The service was bad. The atmosphere was dull. To top this off, they had maybe 3 to 4 tables the entire time it’s not like they were busy. The manager seemed to focus more on his phone than the customer satisfaction. Sometimes it’s not the type of food or the environment, but the people serving it and the quality that they provide. My first time at gator dockside and I will try again in the future at a different location and hope to see better.

Really disappointed they were out of the fried gator tail. Overall food was good. Nice portions. Tasty. Atmosphere was good. Local band playing during dinner. Some locals and band family at the bar enjoying. Nice place to come to. Good atmosphere. The outside area had another band playing just prior. Kids playing. Adults drinking. Nice chill place.

The food, service, and atmosphere was perfect! My server was very kind and attentive and my lobster bisque was light yet delicious and the shrimp and grits were heavenly and decadent. Not to be forgotten, the cocktails were also exquisite and not too strong. The performers were outstanding and really got the room excited for every single song they played! We had a great time just sitting there and listening.

Been wanting to visit this place for a while and I was not disappointed. It was very lively and packed on a Saturday night, but my boyfriend and I still got seated right away. We chose to sit outside because the music is very very loud, which I enjoyed but I still wanted to be able to hear so outside ended up being perfect. We actually got a table that afforded some privacy even with how busy it was which was nice. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. Our food came out fairly quickly. We started with the crab and shrimp dip which was pretty good, although I felt it could’ve been a bit more creamy and less liquidy. Nevertheless I enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I shared the crab cakes. I really liked them and the fries that they came with and sharing this appetizer and dinner was enough to fill us up. As for the drinks my boyfriend originally ordered a spicy margarita which he did not like because it was spicier than he expected. Luckily, our waitress was very nice for swapping out the drink and not charging. He ordered a traditional margarita which he enjoyed much more. I ordered the strawberry daiquiri which was pretty big, but not as strong as I expected. It didn’t taste like it had any alcohol. Still I enjoyed the drink. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and will be returning. Compared to some other restaurants in celebration pointe, this place is not as expensive while still delivering good food and service.

My wife and I had a wonderful diner and enjoyed the piano music on the night of our visit. The food was simply amazing and the presentation was really nice. Service was great and the atmosphere was even better with all the restaurant joining in with the music and songs being played. It made for a very fun night out together.

Our waitress was great and they played all the songs we requested. Our waitress name was Destiny I believe and she checked on us all night even after dinner. We just had two appetizers and the portion was so much we couldn't even finish it all. My son had the coconut shrimp which where huge I finished his last one and I had the chilli loaded chips I had to take the rest home in a box. We went Saturday night stopped in before a movie. We were having so much fun we skipped the movie and returned the next night for another exciting time. My son so inspired we had to go get him a new keyboard.

Came here to see a friend play in his Jazz Band. Very nice atmosphere and great food but a bit pricey. Quality was fantastic and food was made very well. I believe the higher premium I pay in price is due to the entertainment and location/atmosphere which is well worth the experience. Overall great food, service and entertainment!

I love the location in the heart of celebration point. The ambience is light and chill. Definitely a great place to chill and have a drink. We did not eat in this trip due to us coming from a good event. Visited around 9pm on a Saturday and they had a piano act. I love loud things but this was on the edge of not tolerable. Couldn’t talk over it for just chatting amongst friends. The singing and play was nice do t get me wrong. Just needed a touch lower on the speakers. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Table order mango margarita, regular margarita and a Long Island. The margaritas were fantastic but the Long Island was a bust. Seemed watery and too much sour for a Long Island but maybe just a one off. Really loved the Mango one. Power went out but they did everything possible to keep it moving. Want to return for food next time. Total recommend at this point.

First time here and will never go back. Waitress was nice and told us it was wing night. 55¢ wings but had to order in increments of ten and celery was extra. Blue cheese was tiny so we ordered a few extra. All was good until we were ready to go and asked for a to-go box. We were told that we couldn't have a box but we could buy one for $5 and that was the only way we would be allowed to take our leftovers. I have never heard of such a thing. How is it possible that I couldn't take something that I paid for. This was not a buffet or all-you can eat. I even suggested that I was willing to pay for what I had eaten and leave the rest. No deal. When I asked how they were going to prevent me from taking the wings the extremely rude manager said she would call the police. THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER.

I give a 3 for food as the wings are good. I understand prices are rising but $4.50 for a small fry is crazy. What topped it was I requested a refund but the acting supervisor didn't know how to so you would have to wait until the actual manager clock in later that day.

The food is decent, and some dishes are better than others. I would recommend their wings. They have a great variety of sauces with their wings. The happy hour section is decently priced. Staff may take a while as they get busy, but it seems more like a seat your self establishment til we see you, so be patient. Some nights they have live music which is very nice. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I would come back.

I am very disappointed with the level of service I experienced during my recent visit to Mother’s. The establishment has noticeably declined over the years, and my latest experience confirmed that. I placed a to-go order for wings over the phone and waited 30 minutes before arriving. Upon arrival, I stood at the bar where one bartender was actively helping a customer, but the other, Jen, was engaged in a personal conversation and did not acknowledge me. I waited politely for her to finish, but she continued talking. When I finally interrupted to ask about my order, she dismissively stated, “It probably isn’t ready.” After pointing out that it had been 30 minutes, she went to check and, in fact, my order was ready. My issue is not only the lack of professionalism but also the clear disregard for customer service. If certain customers are going to receive preferential treatment, then perhaps signs should be posted, so others know their business is not valued. I have been a loyal customer since your University location, but experiences like this make me question whether I should continue supporting this establishment. I strongly urge management to address these issues and reinforce the importance of consistent, respectful service for all customers.

I’ve been to Mothers Pub Bar and Grill North the past two nights and I’ve got to say it’s a great spot. The environment is laid back and fun with live music and pool tables that keep the vibe going. Bre the bartender is amazing, super friendly, attentive, and really makes you feel welcome. Her whole staff is just as solid. If you’re in the area and looking for a good time, I strongly recommend stopping by this location. You won’t be disappointed.

Horrible customer service. Will someone have a Come-to-Jesus meeting with the employees.THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST. Got here at 5:45 on a Tuesday. Sat at a booth. There were 11 people seated at tables and 12 people at the bar. Ordered 2 beers and waited 15 minutes and still no beer. I counted 6 employees, either in the kitchen, bartenders or servers. Totally unacceptable. That's more than 1 employee for every 4 customers. I gave a three on food even though I didn't eat since I came here a year ago and the wings were good.

Been coming here for a while and love the food, the drinks and the prices. My beef today is management. This poor waitress was in charge of 15+ tables all by herself on Father's day no less. That's pretty messed up. There should be at least 2 servers especially on a weekend. Because my server was so busy, I went to the bar to order another drink and was denied because I had a table and waitress. My waitress was so busy dealing with the multitude of other patrons that it took a while to get that other drink. I'm very disappointed in management and hope this was an extenuating circumstance and will not become a habit of abusing your employees! Our waitress was wonderful btw considering the circumstances.

The food was amazing and the margs were even better!! The al pastor tacos were our favorite taco!

The make-your-own guacamole is bad; they only provide avocado, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Tacos are quite tasty. I recommend fish tacos and gator tacos. Also, I enjoy the atmosphere in this restaurant.

The fish tacos are out of this world!! So we were visiting Gainesville the weekend that UF had it's graduation weekend, and all restaurants were super packed including this one. The wait time was 2 hours. But they had enough space for us to be seated at the bar in the back and then get take out (which was ~20 mins). The Moscow mule was pretty good (for just $5) and the tacos were yummy. Shrimp and steak tacos were good, but the fish taco was just freaking amazing!

The food was amazing we had chorizo and queso blackened fish tacos and a Gator burrito bowl all of it was absolutely delicious the service we received from Maggie was simply amazing she took fantastic care of us and the atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable ive been here many times and intend on coming back a few more times

The tacos were so delicious we returned for another meal before leaving this week. They have 2 for $5 on Taco Tuesdays and other specials the rest of the week. Be sure to let your server know if you don’t like cilantro. Everything was delicious, but I was especially fond of the Tempeh tacos, so flavorful! The salsa and chips taste fresh and the salsa has a kick. The service is fast and friendly at the bar. The dinosaur/fossil theme is great. However it can get a little noisy inside and difficult to hear. They do have outdoor seating.

Delicious food in a cool, eclectic atmosphere. Adorable outdoor patio seating. Great for vegetarians because they have TVP and tempeh that you can sub in any dish. The chimichanga with tvp and smothered in queso is to die for! And while you're eating, look around and spot all the hidden dinosaurs!

Hostess was polite and the restaurant was clean. Husband ordered the gator taco and enjoyed it. I had the mistake of ordering the nachos, not nearly enough toppings to equate the $12 they cost. I eventually was able to flag down my server and requested some more tomatoes which were scarce. She eventually returned with a small cup of tomatoes. I asked for a substitution of cheese to the vegan queso they offered. If you decide to try your luck here do yourself a favor and skip the nachos, as you'll be vastly disappointed. The server didnt check on us often and charged me for the tomatoes which was rather annoying. We probably won't return or recommend.

Was a bit hungry and I was looking for Steak Bites. The Steak Frites was the closest I could come to it. A little too much gristle and not enough flavor. It was a pretty good size for $22. I ate a good portion of it. The sides were not best selections. The fries did taste a bit decent. My wife wasn’t crazy with her Burger, as they undercooked it and she had to send it back. The service is a tad bit slow, looks like they can pick up the pace a little. Place is a pub, I can’t say it’s a bright lighted place. It could use a little more life. Would I come back? Maybe. I give it a 3.5

I found this place in the Bring Fido app and went because I thought it would be dog friendly. It was hot and my server didn’t bring our dogs water. We ordered and waited over 10 minutes for a beer and a drink. Walking past the bar on the way to the bathroom, we saw our drinks sitting there. By the time they came to the table, the ice cubes in the drink had watered it down and he did not bring a glass with the can of beer. Our waiter was clearly distracted or angry or he just hates his job. When our neighbors asked for to go box, he brought a small one. When they pointed to their plates (almost full) and asked for a bigger box, he came back and literally threw it at their table. This was, by far, the worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. The neighborhood is rough and while we were there a large group on bikes came and allowed their kids to do bike tricks right next to the tables making the dogs afraid and all of us sitting outside very uncomfortable. Everything about this place screamed NOT WELCOMING!!! The food was alright when it finally came, though he got our burger toppings wrong and my friends hush puppies were completely raw on the inside. We won’t be back and as for “dog friendly” - no. We sat there over an hour in the hot sun and were never offered any water for our dogs. I ended up putting my glass of water in the floor for the dogs to have a drink! No thank you!

The steak wasn't seasoned enough for me and contained more fat than meat. The fries as a side tasted way better. The margarita was on point but the other drink (called bitty something) was bland. Overall good atmosphere and decent food. If I were back in the area though, I would try another place before coming back.

The rating is respective of the place, not overall in the restaurant landscape. It’s what I call a little dusty, divey, with good food and college town specials. Three of us had a burger, a chimichurri chicken and Chic-Fil-Loosey’s Nashville Hot, all with hand cut fries cooked perfectly crisp. The burger was decent sized and cooked well, tasted fresh as did the full set-up, and the chimichurri chicken was good and daughter made it disappear quickly. The Nashville hot was great, crispy, moist and very spicy! I’d do it again! They also have music on weekend nights when we’ve been there. And it’s a good mix of students and some locals, and visiting parents. It has plenty of outdoor seating when then weather’s nice and let’s are welcome. The Sunday drink specials was happy hour all day, great specialty cocktails and Mocktails, I had the $2 PBR tall boy since I was feeling retro collegiate. 🤪 We’ve been about 4-5 over the years and will continue to support them since we all enjoy the place and the service from Elliott was spot on, bravo!!

From groups of people playing trivia to excellent food, to music I didn't like, to watching hockey on TV, Loosey's was perfect. First there was a line of people outside waiting to order and get seats for the upcoming trivia game. I waited, though I did not play. Inside was a bar that was quite full, loud and very busy. It is a bar. Finally ordered my dinner, it is expensive at Loosey's, be ready to pay. I had the 14 oz Prime Rib Steak. IT WAS PRIME. Best damn steak I have eaten in many years. The fries that came with it were crunchy and delicious. I also ordered a Loosey Salad. It to was great. The servers were all very good and made sure everything was just perfect. Was the food, service and atmosphere worth the $40 price tag for one person? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I very highly recommend Loosey's.

Best veggie burger I’ve ever had. Also we are GNV locals and we had our wedding rehearsal lunch, wedding after party, and ended up grabbing brunch here the day after our wedding 😂😂 service was spectacular each time. Wedding or not, get the truffle fries!

Laid back Saturday, cloudy with a chance of rain. I pop in and try some beer samples before going with the cucumber basil gin cocktail, mermaid something 😉 (it’s really good and strong ok) Then I decide to apply for a part time gig bc the vibes are immaculate here. They are playing a 90s playlist called “songs you heard in the back seat of your mom’s car.” I then order the kimchi burnt ends and cheese truffle fries and live a life happily ever after bc this place is a special gem in downtown GNV.

We've been coming to Swamp since it was in the original location. The food has always been good. We came twice during our visit this time, and dinner and lunch were both delicious. I'm so glad they now have the beyond burger! For dinner I had the southwest salad, which was amazing, and for lunch I had the beyond burger. They have quite a varied menu, so there's something for everyone. Lauren and Trinity helped us at the bar and we're wonderful! The atmosphere is great for families and students alike.

This spot is serving up some good bar food and is perfect for game-nights. However, coming here to catch up with a friend was a bit difficult in the loud setting inside. My power wrap was great with the seasoned soy protein and hummus to moisten things up. I was happy to see some vegan options on the menu. Be careful with the sides though as the seasonal vegetable may come with bacon!

Visit The Swamp Restaurant today for the first time and meet Mesha who was my waitress and is great at what she do and also committed on my gators wear. I already knew i wanted to order gator bites so asked Mesha for a recommendation on an entree cause i want to eat lite. So she recommended the Cesar salad wrap but i ordered broccoli with it which everything was delicious and seasoned evenly. It started off with 2 customers including me some how in restaurant 30 minutes later it became really packed with customers but with only 2 waitress working i watched them work doing a wonderful job in a unbelievable busy moment. Ask for Mesha a sweet person and knows what she's doing.

Tierby and Kylie were absolutely amazing during my visit to The Swamp! Their service was warm, attentive, and made the whole dining experience feel special. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — from recommendations to checking in with genuine care. The food was great, but their hospitality made it unforgettable. Friday night before a game, so the place was nuts! Loud, crowded and loads of fun. Burgers were outstanding but pretty small.. pulled pork and Philly cheesesteak were just average. Portions definitely in the small side. But lots of fun!

We have been here twice, and both were very good! They make a great hamburger, the Freshman 15, and their brunch options, like the Bourbon French Toast, are superb. The waitresses here are highly attentive and kind. The atmosphere is quite homey and exudes a college town feel, yet feels as if it belongs in a small town. Overall, this restaurant is one of the best in Gainesville, and is a great place to have a burger and their salads and fries a awesome!

I think the chicken bucket at this place is absolutely amazing. It was so damn good. I love the ambiance in this restaurant and think all of the staff is just super. Unfortunately my wife won’t let us go here anymore because last time we sat down to order she had to go to the bathroom and some lady was in there taking and making a major stinky. So she completely lost her appetite and made us go somewhere else. I still try to get her to come around to the idea of going over there from time to time but she continues to refuse. Hopefully I work up the courage to go alone some day because man that chicken is AWESOME!

My family and I came here recently and had a wonderful experience. Our server Dylan was very friendly and provided excellent service. When they did not have the necessary ingredients for a specific cocktail, the nice bartender Kyle used what he had to approximate it and the result was outstanding. All the food was equally impressive, but the Impossible patty melt was especially delicious.

TLDR: mediocre service and cold food. Good drinks, and good environment, but skip the food. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because I heard such raving reviews about it. The environment is FANTASTIC — it is so cutely decorated and the ambiance is divine. But, although the server was very sweet, she seemed very scatterbrained and rarely checked up on us. I understand that the environment may be less attentive, but our food took an extremely long time to come out, and it was cold. She did provide us with 20% off our bill (I assume to compensate for the long wait times), but I feel like proper communication could have prevented this issue altogether. Not only that, but I ordered fries and a Caesar salad, which don’t exactly take a long time, and neither should be soggy (although I was happy with the salad being cold). The food was just sub par, and it could’ve been avoided! The drinks, however, were super yummy, and I’d come back for those. But, I’d probably eat at home. Or do take out from somewhere else.

this bar is totally awesome! It’s the spot to just chill and hang out even if you are by yourself! If you like good sandwiches you should totally come here! The bar staff are all amazing and they will take care of you and I love everyone’s personality!! The drinks are good! The music is good!! Just come hang out here!!

Such a fun time! Evan our server was amazing. Shrimp cake appetizers hit the spot. Korean fried chicken sandwich with kimchi and smothered in gochujang was mind-blowing! Drinks were delicious. Singapore sling, aku aku, and habanero peach margaritas were highlights. Every table seemed to also be having fun. Def worth checking out.

One of Gainesville's top 3 burgers! Buns were perfectly toasted, patty was cooked perfectly, fries were delicious. I just wish they had some fresh onions for topping to cut some of the greasiness. The hot chicken sandwich was actually pretty spicy! Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable and I'd definitely come back!

They need to improve alot in their food. Salt was less in every dish. Bang bang shrimps were great though. The service was not at all good. Delayed for every order, but expects tips for that. Disappointed.

Food from Food truck was delicious. Brewery had potential, larger place with large outdoor area. The cons: very noisy inside, only tried 4 beers all were average nothing stood out. Lots of kids running around inside and outside like a playground. Not the vibe we like for a Brewery which is why we only had one flight. Visited 3 breweries while in Gainesville, this one we all agreed wouldn't return.

Really beautiful interior taproom with some great novelties and merch. Seating inside and on the patios looks amazing and well kept! Lots of love clearly put into this brewery.

A great experience all around. Plenty of different beers to choose from. I had a flight of sours and ciders, all tasted great. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking space, but it does fill up at peak times. They have cool merch; tshirts, hats, stickers, magnets, etc. They have a legit selection board games you can play there. There’s a food truck outside, on the brewery’s premises, but a separate business with its own schedule.

We always love to visit local breweries when visiting new towns. First Magnitude did not disappoint! The beers were unique, flavorful and fun. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The environment was very cool and we felt welcomed even with our kiddos. There ended up being lots of families enjoying the outdoor area. The food trucks were also awesome. Their to go options were great offering singles and packs. Definitely would revisit!

We had a great time at Cantina. Our server was wonderful and the food was great. We ordered the Patron Tower which was amazing! That hibiscus margarita was the best margaritas I've ever had. The enchilada was very good. I ordered it "vegetarian" with black beans instead of meat.

If you are in Gainesville this is a must!!! The drinks are made perfect each and every single time. The drag shows are the best!!! Grab a bucket to drink, vodka or rum base and will get you feeling great. Top bar always has cool events to check out. The bartenders are always on point!!!

I try to be a regular here and support it as much as possible. Often here with friends or seeking a friend of my own. Always super nice people and the drinks are good. They are reasonably priced for Gainesville, too. Dance floor is usually packed and if you're alone, sometimes people will offer to dance with you. Have met people from all over the world here this way! My only complaint is it's hard to see sometimes for shows when you're closer to the wall and people are standing. You kind of have to stand too. Holidays - especially Halloween - are the most fun here!

I wish I could give this place a higher rating, but do to a few things I've noticed I cannot... I've noticed that there is lack of communication within the management and the security team (the security team is wonderful though) that causes the atmosphere to feel stressful at times. Than the lack of AC used during some nights, makes it feel like a sauna and people have passed out from it more then once (I saw this happening 3 times in one night). The drag performances are amazing on the other hand, but I feel like people just don't respect that the performers need the floors open during their show (meaning I've seen people block off the stairs where some of them like to perform). Otherwise this place is a really good place to visit no matter your walk of life and sexuality. I'd just honestly like to see more then two security guards on shift at a time, so it feels safer and that way things are easier to be managed within the club, plus a sign on the front door may help some people know that the entryway is in the back of the building (I think this would also help security be able to do their job more efficiently as well). ** *** **** Below are some of the photos, I've taken and have noticed the stairs being blocked off by people.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If you like personal space this place isn’t for you. I went there last week to check the place out and it was so incredibly packed that I could barely get my way through the crowd, I had to push and shove people to get anywhere in the club. They needed to stop letting people in, but they keep pushing more & more people into the tiny space that they have. It probably wouldn’t be too bad if that stopped letting people in when they reached the capacity.

Went last night. No cover and place was empty weekend before Thanksgiving. Doorman let our friend in with their empty cup to use for drinks. Then the bouncer inside “confiscated” her drink about 25 minutes later thinking it was an outside drink. But didn’t ask the doorman about it, but instead asked a guy inside in a suit? Bouncer was trying to play tough guy and must have known he looked like an idiot. You look real cool roughing customers up in a nearly empty bar. We tried to tell him but kept acting like we were trying to fool him or something.

Homophobia on the first day of pride month? I had no interest in going to that lame looking place, but my female friends wanted to. I was wearing a crop tank top and the door guy looked at me up and down and said “we don’t allow ppl in tank tops”. I know the tank top was not the problem... I felt grateful for turning around and going where I actually wanted to go (specially after looking at their Instagram and seeing how female-deprecating they are while making their female staff wear guess what? Really tight crop tank tops to force them to show their bodies), but I still wanted to expose the homophobia here 🤙🏾

This place was jumping last Thursday night! We were in the area on a vacation. The big white Buffalo upfront right after you enter the bar/club to your immediate right. Hence the name White Buffalo. The hosts there and door guys were chill and cool. We found some nice women. Id love to converse and dance with her I hope we hear from them soon when were there.

It may have been a slow Saturday night so there weren't much people. The music choices were good and sounded good throughout the place. The drinks were okay, I had to drink part of it first to mix it and get the flavor of aomething besides alcohol (vodka and cranberry), as I think the bartender poured it backwards. But the staff were friendly and gave us a free round of lemon drops on the house.

Was out for the evening a few weeks ago and White Buffalo was one of the places I was possibly going to check out . My goal was to find a place with live music . I approached the entrance of the Buffalo around 9pm and I asked a young man who was appropriately dressed to be staff if there was any live music possibly tonight and he told me that “ it not a thing downtown “ thinking to myself that obviously he is not familiar with the downtown entertainment . He then continued chatting with his friends and had no desire to invite me in to have a cocktail at the bar or check the place out . I then went to Looseys where they had a band and I had a great time .

The bar is a little simple big open space but it’s clean and feels modern. A barn warehouse with a small single bar in the middle. It was pretty empty but the bar tender was attentive to me and the White Buffalo drink was great. This is a nice place for people who want to just hang out and grab a drink.

I went with a group of coworkers to celebrate someone turning 18. I was the oldest person in the place, lmao. Had to explain what a gin & tonic was to the bartender. Music was hot garbage… inexperienced DJ couldn’t seem to line up tracks correctly… randomly skipping from one thing to the next. Pic is of the line to get in on a Friday night.

We got there just before 5pm. They didn't seem that crowded but it took about 10 minutes to be seated. The parking situation isn't too good. You're lucky if you can find a spot on the street. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We stayed inside since it was kinda warm out. We ordered drinks first. The waiter was friendly. We looked over the menu. The interior was dimly lit. There's a decent selection of choices on the menu. There is another whole menu for the drinks at the bar; many specialty drinks. We all ordered a meal and the food arrived timely and no complaints. We enjoyed our time at the Top. We'd go back.

The food was delicious and our server, Tyler, was great! I had the eggplant rollatini and also ordered a side salad, which I wound up taking home because I was too full to eat it (as I wanted to save a little room for key lime pie)! My husband had the mushroom ravioli and added blackened salmon. We shared a piece of Keylime pie for dessert. We loved everything. It was all tasty! I read mixed reviews on the eggplant dish, but I thought it was delicious and would definitely order it again! I am a big eggplant fan! Everything was prepared well and tasty! And the Keylime pie was yummy and made there. We would recommend this place and the items we had!

Been going to this place for almost 20 years amazing food great place. The only thing I would say to anyone that goes to any restaurant. Do not assume the person waiting/ serving you owes you any thing but the job they are supposed to do. I say this with love. Because if you come into this wonderful restaurant with an air of entitlement it will not go over well. Which is why I love this restaurant. Helen Scott, I built something amazing as far as a place. And a that welcomes everyone. As long as you're you understand, you're only as welcome as long as you don't think that you're better than anyone else that is there 😘

Garlic dipping sauce for the zingers was not what I was expecting, (it has an odd texture), and I had ordered an extra sause, side of broccoli, and ranch and Bleu cheese, none of which was included in my order. That's kind of a lot to miss, if someone was trying to do their job. But the ribs were the best I've had in a very long time.. excellent job to the chef. but .. you can just fire everyone else.

Very disappointing at best! First, nearly every dish they brought to us had food caked on it. Second, my Caesar salad was very small and had barely any dressing. It also contained bits of rotted lettuce. Third, my husband's wings showed they were freezer burned and he just left them on the plate disgusted. His fries tasted awful like they were old. Because of this, we won't be back. The good part of our visit was the waiter. He was kind, social, and attentive. We didn't have the heart to tell the waiter about the food. Overall, the meal wasn't worth the $72.

First time trying Ballyhoo and wow! Absolutely phenomenal! Food was amazing, service was great, and we met the manager who was super sweet. I'm glad we decided to stop and give it a try because everything was stellar. Our drinks were delicious as well! The key lime pie martini was excellent 👌 Two thumbs up! Will return!

Great experience. At first no one came to our table for 6-7 minutes which was a bit annoying but then a waitress came and apologized for the wait and said she would serve us. She was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere there is great and it is a lively restaurant. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating. It is very clean in there. While they are a bit on the pricier side, the food is good quality. The firecracker shrimp was really good and came with a huge portion. My boyfriend and I both got the pastas. I got the chicken one which we both agreed was better than the seafood one; the seafood one could use a bit more flavor. The plates also came with really good bread which was nice. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice night out. They also have options that are not seafood.

Still great quality on the food, fresh fried and blackened redfish came out perfect. Grilled avocado is delicious. Also the live band is retired professionals, it’s like a studio session at the only tiki deck in town!

We had the best experience tonight! Our waiter, Cam, was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. We were celebrating a birthday, and Cam went above and beyond to make the dinner extra special for the birthday girl. He really made the evening feel fun and memorable! The service was outstanding, and the food was soooo delicious, every bite was incredible. We can’t wait to come back again, and when we do, we’ll definitely be asking for Cam. Highly recommend both the restaurant and Cam’s service!

My gf and I finally stopped in yesterday to try Ballyhoo Grill. She's not much on seafood but her coworkers wanted to go. We didn't know they had happy hour so we instantly ordered 2 rounds of Bloody Mary's. $12 for a Bloody Mary on happy hour is not much of a deal if you ask me, but we didn't find that out until we received the check. First bloody came out very thin looking and was very watered down, second came out a little darker but still very watered down. The other cocktails we ordered were very much on the weak side as well. Drinks are not their strong point at all. We did get some appetizers and they were decent. In all my years ordering gator, I've never had it served with a BBQ sauce. The gator was good but a spicy ranch or even just cocktail sauce would have been better. I ordered a full rack of ribs and let me tell you, they were great!!! Fall off the bone and very flavorful. Their garlic mashed potatoes tasted perfect as well. My gf ordered a Greek salad and it's a pretty nice portion and presented very well. They decor is cool to check out, the service is great, the food is really good but the drinks need help. We definitely will be back, especially for those ribs!!!

Ballyhoo's is such a classic Gainesville spot! We went for a family dinner treat tonight and everything was 🤌 so delicious and the servers were all personable, patient and helpful. The decor is amusing and the atmosphere is fun. I like that you can see the chefs in the kitchen while you eat inside. I feel that it takes a restaurant that is confident in their stuff to show off the kitchen to the diners (if that makes sense.) The only complaint I have (it's not really a complaint per se because the food is totally worth the price), the prices are high for our family. Our experience was so good tonight that I think we will go more often. FYI tonight I saw that kids eat free on Mondays so next time we will make it a Monday if we have the kids with us! Also I want to eat outside, tonight it was a bit too cold and rainy. Oh, just remembered, they have live music but was canceled due to weather, which was a disappointment. The cedar plank Salmon was amaze!!

Probably the most beautiful brewery Ive ever been to. Situated slightly away from the hustle and bustle of main roads and traffic, this brewery sits on a beautiful piece of land with rolling green hills, outdoor shelters with walkways and picnic tables, large covered patio, and rough-cut lacqured wooden tables inside. It felt like drinking beer in a park! Lots of beer selections, family friendly, and clean! Its no wonder why this brewery has won so many awards. Very busy the day I went but definitely a great experience. Will definitely return!

Amazing. Ordered 2 flights and they were all so good. (Personal faves were Oktoberfest, Field day & Lemon beer) The location is great too! Parking lot can get limited during busy times but worth it.

I didn't initially have high hopes for this place because the area isn't that great, but I was pleasantly surprised. The facility was great, and the outdoor seating was very convenient. They had a taco stand outside, and it was really great. They don't serve food inside, but they have tons of beer (of course). I personally didn't drink any, but the people in my group loved it. My dad says that this brewery is one of the few good things about Florida. Extra little tidbit, the water is self-serve in the hallway with the bathrooms, you don't order it at the bar. But yeah, you should totally check this place out if you're in the area! It was very fun.

Friendly staff and nice location. Visiting from out of state and got here early afternoon; mostly empty but got busy at around 6. Beer was really good, and I appreciate there being a changing table in the men's bathroom for once.

The boneless chicken/tenders (side eye) we’re amazing! Could have experienced better TIMELY customer service from our waiter. The atmosphere was great. Their bottom is mimosas are very lukewarm, and they do not come around frequently, unless you have a good server.

World of Beer wasn't my first choice this evening or even my second, but the others were either hosting large events or closed on a Monday evening. So here we are. Great service from Hannah (sp?) who was attentive, helpful and polite. I managed to get my laptop and phone plugged in and while enjoying a beer and WOB's take on a Cobb Salad, I was able to wind down after today's driving and work day. Comfortable, clean, quiet enough (with no major sports events on TV tonight) and not terribly expensive. All credit to Hannah's great service.

Loved it!! The beer cheese on the nachos was very tasty. Flat bread was as authentic as it gets and the burger was amazing. You could taste the charred beef but still medium rare. Best food I’ve had in a while. And the descriptions of the beers make you want to taste all of them.

This place is pretty cool and laid back. The music is not loud and you can comfortably talk to your friends or partner with out yelling. Lol It's called world of beers for a reason. There's so many to choose from. I snacked on their loaded taters. It's a great combination with a cold beer. Experience - Great and prompt service. Good was fresh and hot it is as exactly what I wanted. Now I did get s cup of chili to put on top and that was the icing on the cake.

Great place in Gainesville for drinks and food. From the name didn't expect such good food. From appetizers to main entrees, it all looked so good will have to return for more. Also they have a Gluten friendly menu. Full bar from a huge selection of beers to ciders and cocktails. Great service, very friendly and attentive.

The place was very clean and service was fast! The street tacos were amazing and so juicy; the pretzel is definitely a must-get. Definitely recommend going. Kelly, our waitress, was fast and super sweet. She was checking up on us all the time. Everyone was so sweet along with the food being so good!

It is a MUST visit when in Gainesville. -The beer cheese nachos are my personal favorite, with a great price of $10 for food for multiple guests. -The flatbreads are cooked perfectly with a calculated combination of ingredients for dreams of this food -One person in my party also tried various beers, where they were pleasantly surprised by the original flavors and diversity in the beers. I recommend all of these in the restaurant and good luck to finding any distasteful food!

Nice little beer hall, chill, with music playing in the background. The sec championship is on both projectors, but the sound is off, so maybe not exactly a sports bar. Apparently the chef cut himself, so no food to review tonight. The bartender Mallory was lovely to chat with, and the beer selection was great. If mother's sounds too fratty and loud, you might prefer this place.

Amazing atmosphere and beer selection! If you want good beer in Gainesville, this is the place. The owner Alex was SO personable, knowledgeable, and really added to the experience. Service was great, the dill pickle popcorn was awesome, and I will definitely visit again!

I've come here quite a few times for a drink, and I've enjoyed my experience here every time. There's a lot of choices, and they offer samples. I'd recommend coming here at least once and asking about getting a sample of their entire selection. I can't remember the cost of it, but it definitely opened my palette to all the different flavors that exist. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Definitely a go-to for when I'm looking for a place to hang out in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

The bathrooms just got remodeled and are very nice! Great beer on tap and in package. Nothing beats a great pub/sports bar to be able to drink a beer at and talk to random strangers about literally anything for endless hours at a time. The prices are great too, sale tax included!

Came to Gainesville to visit a friend and stumbled upon this gem. The environment was great and the beer selection was exceptional. I got to talking with the owner and he was a very nice and helpful gentlemen. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Been to 2 concerts here. It's small, but the acoustics inside are great. Tickets to both shows were cheap and worth every penny. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have multiple concerts and other events every month. I will definitely be returning.

Dustin Sims and the group with him where hilarious! One of the best comedy shows I've ever heard... how ever this review is for the High Dive and they suck!!! Be prepared to sweat, I don't think they have ac... it's Florida crank that ac up! Seats are small fold up chairs so you won't be comfortable either.

I absolutely love this place. Has a fantastic vibe and a great venue to see live music. It is a very intimate setting but the music is loud and clear as it should be.

I just went to the show that had the head line PowerGlove with Immortal Guardian as a build-up. Honestly I have to say that out of the three bands that played I have a hard time picking a favorite because the entire show rocked the house. PowerGlove brought the house down and immortal guardian was epic as ever. I can’t believe that Gabriel Guardian can play the guitar, play the keyboard, and sing at the same time!!! I have to give a mad shout out to the opening band “Sworn to Decay”! The crowd didn’t even know how to respond when their black metal influence hit the floor. The crowd was prepared for a some melodic metal and got slapped in the face from the start! I can’t wait to see all these bands again. I’m a local and will be looking for more shows featuring all these bands in the future. Especially my boys from “Sworn to Decay”.

Second time here, this place always have nice shows, locals bands and international bands, stand up and more, the parking lot is for around 15 cars, but you can park in the street.

Was an AWESOME FREAKING NIGHT...seen Overtime , Hard Target, Seth Anthony... There were a few drunks falling down by the end of the night, but the best 50th birthday present ever...

Don’t go here unless you want your real ID to get snapped in half. The incompetent bouncer (wears glasses with curly hair) snapped my friend’s real ID in half right away without even a second opinion, scanning it, etc. then laughed about it. It took her pulling out her military ID and talking to the manager for them to realize it’s real. She’s also from out of town so now she has to travel hours and go through the process of getting it replaced. The bartender was also very rude, chiming into a conversation she wasn’t a part of saying “well if they snapped it, it must be fake” which is extremely embarrassing for her and ignorant when she didn’t even know the extent of the situation. The manager was accommodating, but I suggest getting new bouncers or training them to be less dense and idiotic.

I went there after going to a different bar with my partner. I walked in with a drink and no one said a word. I just wanted to finish up that drink and continue to consume in the bar. The tall blonde staff dude with glasses snatched it out of my hand at some point saying he needed to confiscate it, “specially because it was alcoholic” (I don’t get it, this is a +21 space regardless). I asked if I could save it for when I was out of the establishment and he said no but that I could have it outside. I immediately took it and walked out of the bar but meanwhile he was still shit talking to my partner about how it was “one and done” and just creating an unnecessary scene when I totally understood the rule and immediately complied to what he said. I can just think about a billion ways he could’ve been more polite. Just acted like a jerk for no reason. We were about to start a pool game and just decided to pay for our 5 minutes worth of having the pool and leave, even when our plan was to stay and consume for the whole night. Have been there a handful of times but this is my last one. Entitled jerk, never again.

Great atmosphere very nice bartender and some of the best food I have eaten at a place like that will definitely be back this is our go to place for playing pool and eating and drinking while playing in gainsville

This place has ALL the pool tables. Always have a good time here. Bartenders are always really nice. There's poker games every night and you can win some free drinks. Best part is it's the only place in town where you can order 5 star at the bar and they bring it to you. I'm always getting wings. Definitely cut my teeth here in pool league.

We made Mainstreet the home of our pool team because we appreciate the fantastic pool tables, the relaxing environment, the excellent venue and the helpful staff. Unlike some other pool halls, you don't feel cramped while playing. (Even when all the tables are occupied.) The bartenders are friendly and competent. Security is diligent and hard working when it comes to removing empty bottles. All-in-all a really great place to play pool with friends and family.

So much fun. $10 an hour for the table. Pizza was delish and the music is on a jukebox in the wall. So you can kinda control the music. The place was really clean. Bathrooms are really outdated lol but the wait staff was polite and they brought the pizza right to us. We will be back

Bad experience with bouncer. Had some friends visiting from Columbia. My friends showed the bouncer their IDs (Columbian drivers license). Bouncer was an old guy, probably in his 60s. He was rude saying they don't accept foreign license as ID and it's Florida law. We did challenge it at first because they had been using them all night elsewhere. So after he started to raise his voice we went to get their passports. I'll admit, he was correct about foreign license not being acceptable in Florida. However, right or wrong there, that didn't give him the right to call us be-ners when we returned. We left immediately after that.

We got there on Memorial Day right after it opened around 4:30ish. The first thing you need to know is that the parking is terrible due to the construction around the downtown area and specifically around this establishment. You can still find spots, but you might have to walk a little. There were three other tables occupied and one bartender. While we did not play on all the tables, I can say that the tables look to be in good playing shape (cleanliness, rails, felt). Most of the house sticks that you can find left on the wall were 20oz sticks with some variance. You are not likely to find multiple 18oz & 19oz sticks if the place has some traffic. Despite that, all the sticks with exception of a small few had decent tips and the stick themselves were as straight as you could expect. So even if you can’t find your weight, you have a good shot a at clean ball strike. The tables were nice to play on. There was enough pool chalk around to have your choice and pick what you wanted. If you are an experienced player then I would say the speed was medium to medium-fast. There is plenty of room around the 9 tables they have to play with multiple people. They have a good deals everyday. We played for $5 an hour which in today’s climate is a pretty good deal. The men’s bathroom looked clean and it smelled clean. I would not classify it as the traditional “pool hall bathroom”. They were full of supplies which isn’t always the case these days and it didn’t feel gross. The bar was small but it served its purpose. Most people go in there to play pool so I didn’t really expect a big one. Service was good and everything was priced with some reason. Didn’t grab the pricing menu, but there is one semi-good shot in the bar images. We didn’t go to “The Backyard” but it was easily accessible, had a bigger place for non pool players and was outdoors. There was a stage and an area for people who didn’t play pool towards the entrance of The Backyard. The only thing I noticed that might be an issue for some Is the rubber flooring around/underneath the tables. Some of the matting has chunks missing out of it as well as rips. If you are wearing closed shoes that have laces, you are good to go. If you are not sure-footed, you are going to want to stay away from loose sandals and anything resembling a heel. Overall it was a good time, comfortable environment and decent tables to play on. Definitely will go back again.

A couple of things to this review. As a feat venue this place was awesome. It was small and perfect for small bands. The air conditioning was on, they had a lot of great beverages. the bathrooms were normal and clean. And they had a few comfortable chairs and stools to sit on and rest. As a regular bar it was great. The staff was friendly and fun and seemed to enjoying the customers. I love that they played a lot of great stuff on the tv. Also I was stoked to see they played Thursday night football. Was looking hard in Gainesville to find TNF on Amazon to watch ravens and this was the only spot with it. But it was a good spot to watch ravens. As a pool hall, it’s pretty cool too. Lots of full size table and not too expensive to play. I’m bummed I forgot to buy a shirt before I left Florida

Horrible staff called the bartender hon like I do everyone and she somehow took it to heart and refused to serve me and my friends. Got banned. For being nice. Wow.

Nice place for billiard and beer

Went there for a going away party, musicians were very interactive with the crowd. Servers were attentive and quick to bring drinks. Rocky's also had a great selection of local brews on tap. Overall great night out with friends

Always a great time at rockeys. The pianists are incredible and know how to get the crowd going. The drinks are alright but a bit overpriced. They always run out of glasses and switch to plastic towards the end of the night. Watch out on your birthday they will ridicule you on stage if you would like for a free shot. I opted out of that lol.

This place had some of the most talented pianists I have seen at a dueling piano bar in a while! They can play/sing almost anything. Very fun spot!

It doesn't hold up to the old-school dueling piano bars of Chicago or New Orleans, but they do a great job with requests, keep the drinks flowing, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our party of 3. They didn't charge us anything to reserve a table front and center, and they were even cool enough to take funny pics with us so the morning after, sober versions of ourselves could enjoy the night all over again. Great for date night!

Great atmosphere! Have gone with friends and family in town alike and all enjoyed the evening! Sometimes guest pianists will come into town and play, adding to the fun! A little more busy at the beginning and end of the school year but still usually able to find a table.

Thursday night is Ladies night! Love the drinks they keep flowing! Requesting the music is freaking awesome!! The people on the piano gave me life and I saw some different races. I had a blast when I went tbh and I would go back !

I come here because I like the music, the drinks, and the crowd seems a bit more classy than that of midtown. They offer a good drink selection, but I have been disappointed in the quality of my mixed drinks more times than not. Keep your orders simple and your music choice eccentric, and it's a great place.

Good, not great. We popped for a quick dinner. The hotel looks like a newer, trandier one. The menu was not updated on the website, so we were slightly surprised. Tried the Ribeye and Flat Iron steak, preferred the second. They were also testing their key lime pie, and I have to say, it was pretty good! While we'd cook better dinner ourselves, it was ok. It's still a solid option, just nothing special. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the gluten free options.

The wait staff are very friendly. The food is very salty and not plated well. The black plates show the oily finger prints that come from the cook to the waiter (They should always hold plates from the bottom to avoid fingerprints and smears on the top near the food.). The califlower appetizer is very good, the mashed potatoes are soooo salty I couldnt eat them, the small steak was disappointing. It sat on a small bed of lettuce that makes it hard to cut the steak into pieces. Its not very ideal at all. The au jus cheesesteak had legaments and fat and tasted very gamey, so the prep work was most likely minimal. I used the mashed potatoes and au jus cheese steak as compost (at home) since I didnt want to eat it. I was disappointed in the food due to the excessive amount of saltiness, plating, and flavor. In the photos you can see the oily fingerprints on the top of the plates. Thats a big no-no, and is also typically why most places serve with white plates to hide any finger smears.

As thanksgiving day restaurants go Covey kitchen is not exactly how mama used to make. This was more miss than hit. An overly seasoned turkey was the food low point. Mashed potatoes and salads fared a bit better. Service was below average. And the $148 charge ,,(18 percent was automatically added on for dinner for two) was definitely overpriced

Located inside the Eleo hotel it’s convenient. My drink was great and my food was good. It has more of “older people” vibe to be honest even though it’s near UF. So I think if you are a bit older I think you will enjoy this place. It has outdoor seating as well. It’s definitely not trendy , but a solid 4 star place.

We visited around 12:15pm on Tuesday since all the other Gainesville steakhouses open in the evening. Parking is valet only since the restaurant is inside the Eleo hotel, or you can walk from the free parking garage down the block to the restaurant. Restrooms were clean and 100% automated. The decor around the hotel is a minimalist nouveau style so very plain colors and barely any decorations. Carpet in the dining area was a questionable choice since anyone could see remnants of past stains on it. The restaurant was semi-busy for lunch and we landed a table near the kitchen. Electronic menu was interesting - low key minimal lunch menu. My husband and I ordered 2 hot teas, the 6 Oz. flank steak (well-done), crispy cauliflower appetizer, french onion dip sandwich with a side of boursin garlic whipped potatoes, and grilled salmon also with the whipped potatoes. The food arrived about 15 minutes after our order. Crispy cauliflower was spicy and excellent with the dipping sauce. Perfect for sharing. This was the best part of the meal. The steak, salmon, and sandwich arrived soon after. Oily fingerprints on the black plates were mildly unappealing so I wiped them off with the table napkin. We also found it odd the steak was placed on top of a bed of lettuce since that made it difficult to cut, but at least it was tender and tasted ok. The salmon was cooked well and did not have any fishy flavor at all (which is good). We finished the steak and salmon. However, the side of boursin garlic whipped potatoes was extremely salty, a heart-palpitating amount of salt, so after realizing the entire side tasted like this, it was inedible. My husband then tried the French onion dip sandwich and encountered a tough fatty ligament on the 2nd or 3rd bite so he decided to stop eating and we asked for the check and to go containers. We wouldn't be eating our leftovers, but the garden compost would certainly enjoy it. Total was $110 with appropriate tip. Customer service was excellent and the waitstaff are friendly, professional, and very accommodating. But after being disappointed in our lunch, first and last time we're eating here.

Ordered the double burger. It was delicious nothing extraordinary. The truffle fries were also good. They serve Pepsi products. Service was great and the view was beautiful despite the awkward location. Valet was complimentary, not sure if this was only for dining. The dining area is very clean, business casual. The service provides the elegance without the white table cloths.

I've always had a nice meal. It's got a medium price point and by all metrics they meet that very well. Service was fantastic and the food was quite tasty. Their holiday buffets are also usually really solid with good selection and everything is tasty.

Cool spot, good beer selection, with open air seating as well dining rooms, right at Depot Park. The surrounding area has good food options. Was pleased to see that they had Viking’s Blood available.

What a fun place! We were playing through and staying down the street. We enjoyed great beer and a pizza from Humble Pie pizza truck fire dinner. Both were amazing. We had a blast playing pinball like we were teenagers again. A perfect date night on our trip.

A staple for residents of downtown Gainesville! We come here about once a week with our dog when walking him around Depot park. Some highlights: - Refreshing sangria on tap and frosé for the summertime; spiked hot chocolate in the winter months - Good selection of local draft beers - Cute seating area outside - Dog friendly! Dog treats at bar and a doggy water fountain nearby - Friendly and quick service, every time - Can walk around Depot park, as well as most of downtown Gainesville, with your drink in hand (see “Gainesville Sip-and-stroll” for more info)

Before burgers at Goldie's, see Aaron at Boxcar. Aaron is always on top of what he is serving, a very knowledgeable and professional bartender. Every time I am in Gainesville, I hit Boxcar and look for Aaron. Looking-forward to Boxcar expanding their beverage service and seeing what Aaron can do!

Nice little spot in depot with inside/ outside area that is really nice. They had lots of options for drinks and I enjoyed their food too. I had chicken tenders and meatballs. Overall it is a cute little venue and a nice place to just hang out with friends or stop by while walking around depot

Great location, and finally gives me a reason to go downtown. It's very new, and that still shows, but it has plenty of space and a very large bar, so ordering drinks is not as difficult as some other, cozier places. Very good beer selection too, especially given how new it is. Prices are average to cheaper than average. I'll be back many times!

Really neat location. Looks like it was an old warehouse or something, but it's been beautifully restored. Lots of bar seating and plenty of tables too. Very spacious, and on cool nights, they open up the huge, sliding glass windows. Great tap, bottle, and wine selections with good prices. Foosball and shuffleboard tables. GREAT music selections (they had a mix of MJ, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Beatles, rap, etc., when I was there). There is something for everyone, which was apparent because there were so many different types of people there.

The good beer selection was about all I liked about this place. The doorman was incredibly rude, the bartenders were somewhat rude, and the foosball table sucks. My friend ordered a golden ale and got what was definitely a hefeweizen. Not only that, but she was given a glass that was 2/3 full and the bartender explained that that beer usually comes in a smaller glass but they were out of those. I would never do something like that if I was serving! Lastly, it was very, very loud in there, and the live music was not enjoyable at that volume.

Good selection of beer. They have cover bands in here frequently, and consequently charge cover on said evenings. I'd personally be okay with that, if the building didn't have terrible acoustics. If you want to have a conversation without screaming, go elsewhere.

This place is amazing. The people there are very friendly, people that work there are even more so, I have no idea what crawled up Mr./Mrs. paperbutt's... well butt, but I have never had a bad experience there. the bar games are free, TV's everywhere, amazing artwork on the walls and some of the best beers I've found in this place. after being there only a couple times people knew me by name and I've never had problems with getting beer. If you are uncertain about what something tastes like they do not hesitate to give you a sample. It can get loud during Gator game nights or when there is live entertainment but use your head, if you don't like a loud environment, don't go in there on these nights. they have free darts, fussball, shuffle board, giant connect four, ring toss, and now have a skeeball game.

The bartender was friendly and they do allow outside food, which is really nice. However, the location is more of a sports bar than a typical brewery taproom, and their house beers (Alligator Brewing Co) tasted kind of funky, like they might have been accidentally contaminated with bret.

If you like beer, don't prefer mid, and don't want to feel like you're dressing up in your sunday's finest to go downtown: go here. Alligator Brewing is an operation behind the bar always supplying the taps with great beers; Tall Paul's always has a large selection of guest taps to try. Go on a weekend for live music and a crowd; go on a weeknight to have the chance to learn about the beers they're offering at the time from your bartender. Open space, and things to do (shuffleboard, darts, jumbo connect-four, etc)

We went for the Latin night, and the music was pretty good. I will say it can get VERY loud, so if you are sensitive, earplugs can be helpful. Pretty spacious dance floor. I didn't love the drinks. We got cranberry vodca, and it felt like just cranberry juice. I think overall a good place for dancing if you go on theme specific nights.

Decided to go here for a girls night out with my friend, dowloaded tickets to get into the event for free and a week and a half prior. I contacted the number given on fb to make sure the event was still on and i asked what the prices for vip were and the person messeged back and told me $10 to skip the line for vip . When we arrived, there was a ridiculously long line so we went to the vip line we were told we could not go in right away unless we paid $20 for vip. And when I showed them the tickets they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about, I showed them the text messages from earlier and I said they told me $10 so they honored that but when we got in there it was chaos, people pushing and shoving and spilling their drinks on us so we went right back out the door and said hey this is not what we were expecting in this establishment and we just want a refund and that we want to leave we aren't going to drink here, that we cant even get to the bar, but they refused to refund us so one of the bouncers said they would help us get to the "free" drinks . When we got up there ,after swimming through a sea of people pushing and shoving us around like a mosh pit we each got one very small glass of what tasted like dirty kool-aid toilet water so, we promptly left the club! This was my first and definitely my LAST time at Simon's!!!!!! What a dump!

Not terrible not great. A pretty average club that gets a bit more hate than it deserves- but not by much. Come with a friend and you’ll have a great time, but it’s not somewhere you’ll meet anyone outside of Halloween events.

Has a history of posting about "all you can drink until X" and then telling you they are no longer offering the promotion once you've paid to get in already. The promotion was on their story as I ordered my drink and they refused to honor until I argued profusely

Extremely racist staff equals an extremely racist experience. My friend is here for a summer Languge program and I came to visit her. We were three people and went to the front of the line around 1 am. They tried to charge up 20 dollars each, because they assumed none of us went to college, and then tried to charge us 30 for the 3 of us. They then closes 5 minutes later and I went to confront the white bouncer about why he didn’t tell us about that and he tried to fight me. I will never have proof about why I know he is racist but he made sure to let everyone else but us know that it wasn’t worth it, because I stayed near to listen to what he told them.

We went here for my boyfriends 21st birthday. First, they tried to charge us 20$ cover a person. Then after some arguing we got t down to 10$ a person. The second we walked in we got patted down by a bouncer. The club was completely empty. We asked if we could talk to the DJ for a birthday song, and they said ‘no,’ even though our group was like half of the people in the whole place. We asked if we could leave and get reentry and they said ‘no,’ even after charging us 10$ a person for a party of all 21+ The entire time we were treated like trash for my boyfriends 21st. We left and it was the best decision we made that night. I see why the place was empty on a Friday night in a college town. Not my first time here, definitely my last.

Cool place plus while here I got to learn about Alexa and her story. I’ll attach in my photos to explain more about that. They carry Belvedere my favorite vodka so that is a plus. These adorable booths are personable and just screaming to meet the guy or girl of your dreams at.

We've been enjoying the drinks at Kin since it opened. The owner and all the bartenders are always super friendly. The drinks are simply unmatched. They are well balanced, tasty, and unique. They are always coming up with new daring combinations but I have to say I've never been disappointed. Highly recommend.

What a treat for Gainesville! We had a very nice time visiting Kin with the local chapter of Women in Technology & Entrepreneurship. The space was perfect for intimate conversation and connection. The drinks were unique and festive and the staff was just lovely. I highly recommend hosting your next event here.

A fantastic bar to have a nice quiet drink. Thomas and Jordan are fantastic. However Fiona is the star of the show quick witted and with tons of pizzazz. The Kin is a must stop to spend some time with friends chatting and having a nightcap.

Possibly the best word to describe this place is enchanting. The drinks are really good, and if you like vibrant environments, this little cocktail bar is perfect. This, and Baby Js, of course!

The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant! The bar is beautifully decorated with chandeliers and murals by a local artist. The service was impeccable and everyone was attentive. The cocktails are reasonably priced and innovative with awesome names, descriptions, and flavor. Also, the sweet and savory snacks were delicious! This place is perfect for a chill night out or an after work spot.

Well where to start. If you show pics of 80's theme. There better be 80 stuff and music. There was none of it. Music was horrible could not understand half of it saying. I excepted something based on past reviews. Never going back ever.

I loved it!! There was 80s music, video game arcade cabinets and great drinks. However, I now know why they call it a "take my breathe away"!😳 Also, the bar tenders were very nice. And the lady with red hair, pink lips and white high tops vans was really pretty.🥰 And the guy was a good man, I trust him.👍🏻

The staff were friendly and drinks were definitely good… prices were also decent but it felt very off to be charged an almost $12 service fee when we got our tab. Apparently it’s for charges over $30. Would have been great to mention that somewhere(at least it wasn’t anywhere that i saw). Auto-grats are understandable - I worked in the industry for 12 years… but I didn’t know if the “service charge” went to the bartenders or the bar. Just felt like a scam because it came out of nowhere, like being punished for spending more money there. I sincerely hope it goes to the bartenders because if not, they’re likely gonna lose out on higher tips over this.

Love the atmosphere. Great music and people. But the drinks were not up to par. 10 bucks for a double crown apple with a splash and it was all sprit with a splash of crown. Won’t be building a large tab but will be back for the free pool

Was harassed here for a good hour or so by the middle eastern looking staff (or was he staff?), apparently I looked like a cop, and they wondered why my socks were pulled all the way up and they were constantly judging my attire. I think it is a democrat antifa hangout spot

I went with a couple friends and waited for almost two hours for our song to come on. I talked to the DJ (July 15 2022) and he goes, “oh no someone already sang that man.” No one had sung it, we had another song in as well and it never came up. Seemed like the DJ was skipping most of the guys, kinda lame. ://

The last event I attended was a nightmare for me and my group, we attended last Friday,the manager was very incompetent and gave such an awful service. They charged me the bottles and then after 1 hour and half waiting for them they told me that they did not have the bottles, the biggest issue was I had to go to by myself and look for the bottles since they were not taking care of the table. The manager was Justin with a blue shirt, I do not know why this guy is a manager when he doesn't even pay attention to the bottles, he yells at people and doesn't even know where he is standing. Then, when I got my bottles he stopped me yelling why do I have those bottles when I already spoke with the bottle girls. Finally I got my bottles at 1:00 AM when the club close at 1:55 AM. The table service in this place is very uncompetitive and we will never go back if we see this guy.

The little girl letting people in at the front was super rude, she told these guys it’s $60 to skip the line and when the girls asked she just gave a rude look told them to move and ignored them. so your telling me since your a pick me, you only talk to men?? Please her her removed from that position if she can’t handle it !

Paid 10$ for 10min.. then they just closed the bar shortly after midnight... Been a loyal customer since I got to Gainesville every tuesday for techno tuesday. Me and my 20 international friends will not go there again for the rest of our stay.. Whish it'd be different but I feel scammed..

DTF plays a lot of good remixes and it’s pretty big in there which is nice. But on fridays the line is always really long and unless you go to the skip line you might be waiting there all night which is kind of annoying

Great location and love the rooftop experience. Only wish there were a few more fans in the corners where we sat just to keep the air moving a bit more. Was a little stuffy up there but otherwise great experience. Our server Connor was wonderful and the food was phenomenal!

My wife and I visited Visors for pre-dinner drinks on a Saturday night in February of 2021 and had a great experience. The bartenders were knowledgeable and knew how to make a proper Old Fashioned, the drinks were delicious and reasonably priced and the service was quick for our Shrimp and Grit Cake appetizer. Highly recommend going upstairs for a drink before or after dinner downstairs.

This place is amazing! My husband & I made reservations (HIGHLY recommended!) for our anniversary dinner, & we will be going back every chance we get! Our server, Nicholas, was fantastic, & when he found out it was our anniversary, he brought us a card & 2 glasses of champagne. The manager even stopped by to wish us happy anniversary! The food is delicious and completely different from the Spurrier's restaurant downstairs. Great view, lots of fans, and a laid back atmosphere. We can't wait to go back!

I want to emphasize the 5 star for the bar staff that were great - the staff around the private event were randomly hostile to us standing near the private event area. Main thing I want to point out is the uncomfortably unwelcoming atmosphere the older (unfortunately, white) patron crowd around the bar was demonstrating towards us trying to order a drink at the bar. As alumnus in town for homecoming weekend, the staff around visors (outside of bartenders) and the non-private event crowd were aggressively unwelcoming and really stained our first visit experience to visors/spurriers that we had been excited to have for over a year. We love spurrier, and we love the gators. But we do not love unwelcoming experiences from older patrons that see us as outsiders.

What a cool place to enjoy the gorgeous weather and evening. We enjoyed the pleasant service first of all but the apps are perfect. Coconut 🥥 shrimp 🍤 and wagu sliders. Amazing 🤩. The blue cheese wedge salad 🥗 is balanced by the bacon 🥓 and tomatoes 🍅. We were full and didn’t get to the dinner menu so we will be back for sure. Loved the decor and the bar is awesome. Go check out the visor wall. It’s priceless. Go Gators 🐊

Honestly I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant... people will go to it and it will be popular based on name alone, which typically means the food can be subpar. However, I went last night and was blown away. My table ordered the Lobster Rolls, Wagyu Beef Sliders, Shrimp & Grit Cakes, and the Mini Wagyu Chili Dogs and everything was amazing. The quality of the food is top notch and I loved having small bits of several different things. For drinks we had a Smoking Jacket, Touchdown Dance, and Amalfi Manhattan and they were all excellent as well. My personal favorite was the Touchdown Dance. On top of the great food and drinks, our server Arielle was exceptional. I can't wait to go back and try the main restaurant!

Waitress was very nice and we chose her suggestions of the house ale and my partner picked the spicy cocktail. Also the burrata plate which was a harmony of flavors but did require thoughtful assembly of each bite. For our entrees, My partner ordered wagyu sliders and was worried the patties were well done. I explained thats probably because they are so thin. However I can understand the disappointment because the flavor of a tender beef like wagyu certainly cooks away when well done. We shared a side of fries and they were delicious and crispy i likened them to McDonald’s fries with regards to flavor. I ordered the crab and lobster cakes. I realize these were loaded with lobster and crab chunks but for $21 I won’t be ordering it again for the portion<the price. Overall we will be going back to visors and we’re excited to try other options on the menu. We liked visors much more than the downstairs menu, style and atmosphere.

Didn’t realize there was such great sushi in Gainesville! This was absolutely delicious, especially the crispy rice maki roll with spicy tuna on top. Also the specialty roll with sliced mandarin oranges on top was amazing! Great recommendation from our waiter. Had a wonderful time at this lovely place. Absolutely highly recommend. Don’t miss it.

We visited Dragonfly Sushi during FEST and despite the restaurant being absolutely packed we were very impressed by the experience. Nestled in the heart of downtown Gainesville, this place has clearly earned its reputation among the competitive restaurant scene. We snagged seats at the bar, and even with the chaos of a busy music festival weekend the service was impressively fast and efficient. The staff never seemed flustered, and our orders came out quickly without sacrificing quality. The food itself exceeded all expectations. The sushi rolls were beautifully presented with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the gyoza were perfectly crispy with a flavorful filling. What really impressed us was that the kitchen maintained such excellent standards despite the restaurant being slammed. Too often, busy nights mean compromised quality, but Dragonfly proved they can handle the pressure. If they can deliver this level of food and service during one of the busiest weekends in Gainesville, they’ve more than earned their spot as a downtown favorite.

This place was a great place for a date. Our server autumn was very attentive and the food came out hot and fresh, even with a full restaurant. The drinks were well made and they had a bunch of delicious and interesting sushi combinations. We will definitely be visiting here again.

Food was fabulous! Loved the pork dumplings! We had so many sushi rolls all delicious. Ramen short rib bowl huge in flavor and size. Waiter was perfect.

Wait was under 45 minutes on a Friday during peak hours because it was only 2 of us so we sat at the sushi bar. Our server was awesome; made great recommendations given the menu was outside of our familiarity but we wanted to be adventurous. Absolutely loved gangster & the geisha cocktail!

The food was decent. The pizza was the best. The $13 deals were alright, but the dessert was horrible. The pick up time was correct as estimated. The chicken parmesan ("lunch size") was super small and very dry. The house salad seemed fresh and no bad toppings in it. The cinnamon rolls pizookie with ice cream was good. The French fries got cold very quickly. The burger was decent.

Definitely one of the better chains around this area. My husband and I always enjoy our meals and the service is good. The food is a little pricey for what you get but it’s better quality than some other chains. They have a gluten free menu and their options are pretty good. I’ve enjoyed their pizzas, bowls, and salads. The gluten free crust is amazing. Their cheese is just ok. Better cheese would make the pizza incredible.

The food was delicious, the waitress was great, but the front seating staff acted so lost ... they were just talking amongst themselves more than wanting to help. I got up from our booth and asked to pay for our food and get some to go boxes because our waitress was so busy and we were done eating they told me to go to the take out counter then the take out counter didn't know what to do either but atleast he tried to find out waitress for us. I don't understand why they didn't understand I just wanted to pay for our food and get to go boxes because we didn't finish our food? There were 3 people at the counter and they didn't understand that?!! Our poor waitress was running around everywhere finally the take out order guy flagged her down. Like they all work there. They should know what to do...

We arrived and ordered the house wedge, the boba mango strawberry drink, as well as two $13 pizookie meals with a burger and chicken parmesan. When we arrived I had to ask for silverware, and we observed that it was pretty disgusting. My theory is that it was thrown into a dishwasher, and not cleaned at all basically. I wiped my knife with a napkin and it looked %100 cleaner, and safer to eat off I’m sure. This was after I asked for additional silverware since one of the first two sets we were brought we deemed unusable. None of the tables around us were reset with silverware. One couple had their entrees and no silverware, so they just stared at their food until they were finally helped. The food was okay. I enjoyed my burger but in my opinion it needs more sauce. It came out without my side of fries and when they did come out they had no salt. Not a problem since there was salt at the table, but I would have preferred to not have to do that. The pizookies were great. I had salted caramel and she the original chocolate chip. Service was generally minimal although friendly. We got some rolls on the house and even though they weren’t the best, I will always enjoy free food. Edit: came back today, the silverware was arguably even more disgusting than it was when we last came. Didn’t bother getting food, but we just checked his software because we were curious. Pizookie took 30 minutes to come out, although it was quite good.

Food is good and consistent. Neda is the best! She remembers the order for my family of 5 in minute detail. It’s always clean and generally quiet.

We had a deep dish pizza and the pizookie trio, both of which were delicious and arrived promptly. Our server, Bailey, was incredibly kind and attentive, providing valuable suggestions. If you’re visiting, be sure to ask for her!

The food was outstanding — we tried the brisket burger, fried pickles, sirloin, and wedge salad, and each dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Our server Phoebe was fantastic — kind, welcoming, very knowledgeable about the menu and offered spot-on recommendations. Great service, great food, and a great vibe. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quality dining experience!

A nice place to grab a few drinks and some bar food with friends. Thursday night is definitely loud from the live music, but that's what you can expect from a live music night. 😅 I have tried several items on the menu and you can't really go wrong. From burgers to shrimp to their fried chicken mashed potato bowls. The corn nuggets are one of the best appetizers in my opinion. And their beer selection never fails to excite the beer drinkers of our group. There really is something for everyone.

We went to Crafty Bastards for the song writers night. Musicians were really great! Rustin was fantastic! Steve was another great song writer! Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Cheese curds were spicy (SO GOOD!), Burger was big and flavorful, tater tots were crispy! We ordered drinks and shots and everything was great. Our waiter was attentive and everything was perfect!

The ratings look low, but I really liked this place. We went later in the evening, after a UF baseball game, and the place was mostly empty, with closing time approaching. There was a live musical act and he was pretty good. Posters on the wall show him to be a regular performer there and I enjoyed his performance. The server was excellent - very friendly and naturally easy going, but he kept on top of our needs. There is barely seating and table seating - the bar occupied by seemingly regular customers. The vibe was a little bit dive-bar style, but a comfortable and friendly place. The beer cheese was okay - not the best I've ever had. It wasn't incorporated well, rather than being creamy and smooth, but tasty enough. The accompanying pretzel sticks were divine. My hubs had a dozen wings - the jerk ones were amazing (I did snitch a nibble). Parking was very easy, as was access in and around the place. Pricing was good. This was a good choice on the occasion, and we'll surely go back.

Food was suboptimal at best. Beer cheese and bread is microwaved pretzels with a beer cheese that wishes it was beer cheese. French dip is not a French dip. It's a cheese steak with au jus jelly. Our server was great. I would go here for beer and eat at home instead.

Love this little place! It's both family friendly and a fun place to hang with the boys to catch a Gator game as well as my most regular trivia spot. It's hard to maintain a consistent culture in a local restaurant but the staff here has ALWAYS been fun, friendly and chill... I can't recommend this place enough if you want a low key night out or just a casual place to grab a good beer with a buddy and chat.

This place is amazing!! I used to work there and would find myself coming in for food on my days off. Betty and her family have really created a one-of-a-kind establishment. I highly recommend checking them out. It's also the CLEANEST restaurant I have ever worked in my 17 years in the industry. Shout out to the handsome cook in the back!

The waitress was friendly and answered our questions about the menu. We ordered the special, fried green tomato sandwich with choice of tomato soup or salad. The sandwich, bread from a local bakery, was very good, as was the soup. The Caesar salad looked fresh, the dressing is made in house. However in my opinion it tasted too fishy. The waitress readily offered to replace it. The restaurant was clean. Bottom line, I will eat there again.

Found this tucked away in Gainesville Google Maps has a weird way of getting you there looks like there's two outside patio seating did not feel very welcome coming in it's dark in there it does smell good it was quiet not very many people there while we were visiting order at the bar they give you a number and you go have a seat you're pretty much on your own after that they bring out the food which looks very nice and it did taste amazing including the mocktail. My only complaint which is more of just a disappointment 13.00 for three tiny slices of green tomatoes layered on top of basically a salad the tomatoes were delicious I just wish there was more of them for that price and no salad with it. yes I'll be back to try more just won't waste $ on the fried green tomato appetizer but definitely will get the dilll french fries again

Public & General, the “P&G”, a Gastropub in Gainesville. Any beer enthusiast and foodie would dig this place. Amazing burger cooked perfectly medium rare, fried green tomatoes, Florida beers. Take a look at those great menu prices!

I ordered a burger all the way and fries. Sounds boring, let me tell you there was NOTHING boring about this meal, it was perfectly cooked (on the rare side) with thinly sliced lightly pickled cucumbers, a delicious sauce and all the toppings! Potentially the best burger in years! The fries were yummy and plentiful, more than enough to share! The 24 carrot gold adult beverage was spectacular! ❤️ Atmosphere was also delightful! We sat outside on the patio.

We come here frequently and the food and service is always amazing! Everything on the menu always tastes incredible and the service is top notch. Elena, Summer, and the entire bar staff are always incredibly welcoming and accommodate any special requests. If you’re a local or a visitor this is a MUST DO restaurant. 10/10

Fantastic lunch place, So glad we stopped here! The waitress mistakenly delivered the polenta appetizer to us, but when I tried to bring it back they said to keep it for free, their mistake. These were by far the most delicious tidbits, with a perfectly paired sauce. Shared the BLT which came with a nice ceasar salad. Perfect amount of food for 2.

Beer was awesome, talked with the owner/brewer and you can tell he really cares about the beer he makes. Great atmosphere and really good beer. I had the Queenie, James Brown, Peppered Porter, the Golden Ale and the Bat Adder Helles. Each were unique in their flavors. Many breweries get stuck on the same flavor profile, you won't find that here. I will definitely be back.

Overview: 5/5 I’m always up for a good micro brewery. We had not made it to Blackadder until now. Great experience at this place. Ambiance : 5 I love the layout. Spacious with tables and a long bar that can accommodate large and small groups. They played great music and had games available. Food/Drink 5/5 Only did drinks and some pretzel snacks. The beer selection was awesome. I am a Belgian beer snob. A SUPERIOR selection of this variety. I tried four that were all great. Service : 5/5 Ashley our bar tender was great. She was knowledgeable and attentive to servicing us during our stay. A great conversationalist and perfectly suited for the job. Conclusion : Loved this place and we will be back!!!

One of our very favorites when in Gainesville. In house beers are always plentiful and obviously brewed with pride. If you can't find something of theirs, there are more taps filled with guest beers. Owners are generally on site and very friendly. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Legit spot. They have some good brews and the environment is very well set up and cozy. They have a good selection of board games if you just want to chill and play some games with friends while you have some good beer. And they also have darts. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And you can tell they like to have a family like environment. I’m no longer in Gainesville but will definitely try and pop in any time that I am in town.

Blackadder is always a top tier experience, because of top tier staff and brews. It's always a lovely time coming to the brewery. Update 2022: I really wish I could give this place 6+ stars. It is Always a phenomenal experience here with the owner and staff always on tap. I can't suggest this place more as a Gainesville Must Experience staple. Update: the staff, faculty, and especially the wonderful brews are always a great and tasty experience 💯🍻💯 Update again: still a wonderful and peaceful brewery with plenty of fun things to do throughout the week.

We always love to check out the local breweries when traveling and Blackadder food not disappoint! Beers were tasty and unique. Staff was friendly and even welcomed our kiddos withcupcakes. The atmosphere was very cool full of laughter and people playing games. Definitely would visit again and highly recommend.

What a great place. Been to a lot of tap rooms just to be disappointed in the beer, NOT THIS PLACE! I had a flight of their own brewed beers & the wife had a flight of stouts, not theirs. The staff was fun & helpful in choosing cause you can't drink them all. Hope I get to come back again.
