Cap D’or Bar and Restaurant, also known as Sheikh Aly, is a historical tavern in Alexandria that offers a charming and vintage ambiance. Established in 1905, it is one of the oldest bars in the city and provides an intimate setting with wooden interiors, dim lighting, and eclectic decor. The establishment serves delicious mezza made with seafood prepared in the classic Alexandrian manner and offers a variety of local alcoholic beverages.
Great art nouveau bar in downtown Alex. Great vibes every night of the week. Local Stella beer for around 1.50€, nice seafood tapas (fried fish plate and clams were delicious). Funny local patrons, and even had an impromptu concert. One of the most magical bars I've visited in any city.

A hidden bar in downtown Alexandria - It’s definitely not fancy, but that adds to its authentic, nostalgic vibe. If you’re looking for a vintage place to enjoy a drink and soak in the local atmosphere, this is a great choice!
One of the most pirate places that I saw and where I was. Judging by the inscriptions, it has been working since 1908. A little more than fully consists of entourage. Wonderful!

Cool bar tucked away from the main area with bars in Alex. Was 90% men in their 30s hanging with friends or watching TV or drinking alone. There was one friend group of eccentric or even fruity people! Every once in a while people broke out singing a classic song, and all of the staff are HILARIOUS and friendly! They have a small food menu and it is mostly fish and chips, and a wierd alcohol menu with no cocktails. 125£/ beer. Awesome guy who plays the Oud and takes requests. Cash only.

It's always nice to find a local bar in Egypt, so it was great. The place was a bit hard to find, but that's good cz you really feel like you deserve that beer.
The place opened at 7 pm but we were there during the end of Ramadan, so not sure if it's a Ramadan thing or if that's how it always is. There was a 300le cover charge per head as well. We were only there for 1 beer, but they let us carry out 4 extra beers to make up for the cover charge. Which was nice.
They don't let you sit downstairs if yourw only 2, that part is reserved for bigger groups. But overall, the place is nice.
I didn't eat anything there, so not sure about the food.
Fantastic old time bar in Alexandria. It is difficult to find but worth the effort. Really cool vibe with great music and reasonably priced drinks - if I lived in Alexandria, I'd be there every week. Enter through a building on Mohammed Ibrahim Selim side street. There is usually a security guard there at the building entrance, and he knows what you're looking for! Go inside the building and look to the left - you'll see it. A cool Alexandria experience

Thanks to my wonderful tour guides from Footnotes Alexandria, I was introduced to the Blue and White Greek Club – and I couldn’t be more grateful. Tucked along the coastline, this restaurant offers one of the most breathtaking views in Alexandria. Sitting here feels like a quiet embrace from the city’s Mediterranean soul.
The staff were incredibly attentive from the moment we arrived, making the experience feel truly special. The seafood selection is absolutely staggering – a paradise for anyone who loves the ocean’s offerings. I chose the Alexandria catched prawns, along with crab and mussels. The kitchen even fulfilled my special request to have the mussels steamed in white wine – a beautiful touch.
A special thank you to Elias, the manager, who took care of us with warmth and genuine hospitality.
For those looking to connect with Alexandria’s Greek-Italian-British heritage, this is the perfect spot. In fact, sitting here, I couldn’t help but think of my great-grandparents – who came to this spot and dined in this very place. Some traditions are simply worth holding on to.

Excellent seafood spot where you pick your catch and they grill it to perfection.
Jumbo shrimp were outstanding, sea bass and sea bream also excellent. The eggplant salad was a standout — unique and delicious.
Add in the amazing views right by the water, and it’s a memorable experience.
This is a great restaurant. The staff are friendly. The food was fantastic - super fresh fish perfectly cooked aswell as Greek sides and salads. The eggplant was amazing and the beetroot salad. Lovely fresh bread. The views are wonderful, right over the harbour towards the city. And they have a big terrace with outdoor tables. Don’t miss this place. I managed to get a table for a late lunch but most tables were reserved so it’s best to book.

Love it - every bit. You can pick from the fresh catch of the day, the scene with the fishing boats and all Alexandria bay is another dimension so highly recommend sunset dinners there. The alcohol is fairly priced and the service is top notch. Best place hands down to get a super nice meal in Alex.

Pretty slow service, didn't have several items on the menu, fish was good but chicken dish terrible quality. Local teenagers hanging outside the restaurant trying to force beads onto anyone.
5 stars for the location, the music, the view.
We had shrimps, salad, seabass (the greek way), beef, and rice. The fish was a bit tasteless for my palate. I would go for another preparation the next time. Everything else was good.
The best thing about the place is that there's beer and wine.

Jeeda's is a Spanish restaurant that offers authentic cuisine and a Spanish culture experience. The restaurant has comfortable furniture, great music, and an inviting atmosphere. The food is perfect for any palate and the waiter Ramadan was very friendly. I would definitely recommend Jeeda's to anyone looking for a unique dining experience.

Through google maps we landed here. The first impression was really good. Classy and stylish just like the lay-out of the plates.
The taste of the food was average. It's a pity because the restaurant screams: "We have good foods." Maybe it's the dishes we choose.

Wonderful experience from start to finish! We went to this restaurant because of the google reviews. So wanted to pop my own one on. We were greeted with a friendly but not in your face hello. My husband is vegetarian and they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! In the end we chose a veggie paella. Considering we have eaten paella in many Spanish restaurants. This was by far the best we have tasted! The lovely owner Jeeda come and introduced herself and recommended the cheese cake. Which was mouth watering. Delicious sauce and popcorn on the top. You can tell she really cares about this restaurant and her guests! The lighting a décor is perfect! The place is amazingly clean! And the staff are all wonderful! Honestly if I could put 10 stars I would. Will visit again and would highly recommend! :)

Fantastic Food and Service!
What a wonderful dinner at Jeeda's! I tried the Paella Mariscos and it was incredible. The seafood was so fresh and abundant, and the rice was full of flavor. We also ended our meal with the Churros, which were crispy, sugary, and delicious.
A special shout-out to Bebo, who was our server. He was so friendly and provided excellent service, making our evening even more enjoyable.
And a big thank you to Chef Mina for creating such a delicious dish! The entire experience was top-notch. Highly recommend!

What a place. Found it last minute before we headed back to Cairo. Atmosphere was fantastic. Soft jazz music ambiance, stylish decor, and minimal interruptions. Food was very affordable for classy place like this and dirks are wonderful. Thank you to the staff and the owners mother for such a great hospitality. If we ever end up back in Alexandria this would be the first pace we would go to for food. Keep up the good work and hopefully we will see you in near future

Délices Patisserie Alexandria is a cafe and patisserie with a rich history dating back over 100 years. It still employs the same family since 1922, and offers delicious pastries, cakes, and coffee to its customers.
Delice is one of the best places in Egypt in general. It was a beautiful experience in a restaurant that is more than 100 years old. It has a really different spirit, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the desserts were very delicious. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and that you are in a restaurant that is years old and you see the history with your own eyes. The prices are somewhat good. Every time I go to Alexandria, I will definitely go there again. ♥️♥️♥️

Although Délices was one of my favorite restaurant in Alexandria, I , unfortunately had one of the most disappointing meals there today ...that was supposed to be a club sandwich!! The toast was extremely dry, with edges so thick and hard that they were literally impossible to eat (see photo). The chicken was overcooked and dry, and the meat was tough and chewy. The whole sandwich lacked freshness, flavor, and balance. I was expecting much better quality from such a well-known place, but this dish was a complete letdown. I definitely won’t be ordering this again..

The place is very nice, one of the oldest places in Alexandria is a mixture of traditional Greek and Egyptian terraces. I recommend coffee and baked goods
The pride shown in their presentation of the food and shop is beautiful. I had a fajita and my partner had a Surf & Turf. Both delicious. Had to takeaway some sweets for later. Could not resist. The Dubai chocolate is very nice.

We spent New Year’s Eve at NEO Lounge located in the Hilton Hotel in Sidi Bishr, Alexandria, Egypt. We didn’t have a good time there and was not worth the money spent for sure. I will never do that again…..big mistake! I went to the Hilton on Monday December 26TH, 2022 paid for the reservation. I asked before paying if I would be able to pick my seating at this time. I was told that it was first come first serve. The manager suggested that we arrive around 9pm in order to get seating of our choice. I paid $1200 pounds for two tickets and left. When we arrived on New Years Eve at 9 pm like we were instructed the tables were empty but all reserved…. I didn’t understand since we were told that it was first come first serve..,.not the case at all!!! We were led by a waiter to a high top in the back corner and I mean the very back corner of the club. I was extremely upset with this and disgusted. Well let me tell you this was the way Hilton NEO Lounge started my night. I requested my money back and wanted to leave right then and there. The manager that gave me the lies about first come first serve says to me that I requested a high top…..NEVER WOULD I REQUEST A HIGH TOP…. I HATE HIGH TOP TABLES!!! Anyhow he finally gave us a regular table. But that’s how our night started. Next we sat there for I would say a good hour before the people started coming to the NEO Lounge for New Year’s Eve celebration. That was a joke….first of all there was no countdown at midnight. The DJ didn’t know that 10 seconds before midnight he was supposed to countdown to midnight. That in it’s self was ridiculous. Also they were supposed to have a belly dancer…,never seen one. When I asked about the belly dancer, one of the guys working there told me she would start at 12:30….but then the manager Mr.Emad said 1:30am because we close at 3am. I was in shock because I honestly thought that the dancer would be dancing right after the New Year rang in. So we hung around until 12:30 and then left because this was not a New Year’s celebration it was just another night at the club!!! What a waste of a holiday, time and money. I will never go back to NEO Lounge again. Do yourself a favor and don’t risk a disappointment for your New Year’s Eve celebration.
Amazing club!!! Incredible night out!!! The music was great and the staff very polite,discreet and attentive, a very comfortable atmosphere overall. The food was fab!!! Cocktails mesmerizing!!! The only thing I would change would be to avoid the car since it was crowded and had some trouble parking so taxi or Uber next time ;) can’t wait!!!!

Somewhat dingy place playing loud party music all the time. Staff were nice but the waiter seemed unaware of what they offered on the menu. You can pay only in cash and they didn’t pay me back 100 pounds (guess they just took liberty to it). Not a place I’ll be coming back to.
It’s so loud and the stuff just want to sell u the whole menu but still they are nice and the place would be much better if they put a chill playlist
If I could give this place zero stars, I honestly would. What a “luxury experience”.. we literally had to leave our food and stop eating to go withdraw cash because this “fancy restaurant” doesn’t accept cards or InstaPay.. Super classy, right?
The staff were something else.. One of them basically became part of our group, he’s in almost every single birthday photo because he just wouldn’t leave our table. He kept pushing us to order more, like we were being held hostage by a waiter.
And the food? Don’t even get me started. The pasta was dripping in cheap oil, the salad looked like it had been sitting out in the sun all day, and honestly, even the presentation was depressing.
To make things worse, we were a group, and every dish came about 15 minutes after the previous one so it felt like we were eating in shifts.
By the end, we were tired, annoyed, and starving.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your money, your time, and your nerves, go literally anywhere else
Price is optimal, beer was served cold and nice and the staff was cool. The food was mid tho I'd recommend the grilled kofta over pasta and chicken wings.

Honestly, a terrible experience
From the moment we walked in, the place felt messy and unorganized. The waiter was acting weird and totally unprofessional, like he just wanted us to leave.
The service was super slow, and the staff had zero manners. The food itself was below average bland, not fresh, and honestly not worth the price at all.
And to make it worse, they don’t even accept card or InstaPay only cash! Like seriously? It’s 2025, not 1990.
Overall, the whole experience was uncomfortable and disappointing. Bad food, bad service, and no professionalism whatsoever.
Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Zero Stars: Unprofessional, Pushy, and Disorganized
If I could give this place less than one star, I absolutely would. This was hands down the worst dining experience I have ever had. The management and waiting staff were incredibly unprofessional, rude, and unwelcoming.
Our waiter was a constant, unwelcome presence, hovering over our table and forcing us to order more food and drinks. The service was completely disorganized food was delivered dish by dish 15 mins apart, and the waiter even handed us our glasses individually, without using a tray. This lack of basic professionalism and hygiene was matched only by the overall disgusting attitude and poor quality of service. Avoid this place

Chez Gaby Au Ritrovo is a hidden gem in Alexandria — not very easy to find at first, but the Google Maps location is accurate. Once inside, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy, quiet atmosphere with peaceful lighting and vintage Italian-inspired decor that gives the place a unique and nostalgic vibe. We tried the pizza and cannelloni, and both were delicious — flavorful, well-prepared, and served surprisingly quickly. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience. I’d highly recommend this spot for a date night, a family outing, or a chill hangout with friends — it’s a great way to experience the charm of old classic Alexandria through an Italian lens.

We eat here every time we visit Alex. It's one of my favorite restaurants in the city for its ambiance, location, and excellent quality of pizza. The owner is also really friendly and kind. Such a warm, welcoming place!
This was a good restaurant to pick some Italian inspired food at, did expect more from the reviews you see however I wasn't disappointed much.
I think their food though tasty could be better served, and cooked.
Loved the lasagne, nice carne pizza which is not Italian at all but rather Eastern, cesar salad without chicken surprisingly, and last plate was chicken scallopinni which I can say I tasted better .

The worse service I have ever got. I’m not the one to write reviews, but I will take the time out of my day to make sure I complain about the ridiculousness that happened a few days ago. Went in the restaurant, nice place, staff seemed friendly, everything seemed fine, my friend and I were seated, we did not feel like ordering food, so we ordered 2 desserts and 2 drinks. The waiter then insisted on us buying a main course, and so we did, I ordered a pizza which I did not want, I was going to share with my friend. So the order now is 2 desserts, 2 drinks, and 1 pizza, then the waiter said we need to order another main course. I was honestly filled with rage because the audacity of making me order another main dish after ordering multiple things off the menu and a pizza which we did not want. I will not eat if I don’t want to eat, I will not pay for something I do not want to pay for. Extremely unprofessional and they did not even bother to stop us as we are leaving. I will not be returning since I don’t live in Egypt anyways, huge inconvenience , and a huge disappointment. Honestly whole situation was kind of weird that a restaurant would do this or allow this. I will tell My friends that live here not to go. Need to make changes asap because that’s not how you do business, cannot let the customer walk out, 0/10 experience.

Me and my friends (group of 4) went for dinner. I arrived a bit late after my 3 friends had already ordered their food and were eating. We asked to change the tables and the waiter said we can’t change with the food already on table and that they’d have to first finish eating and pay and then we can move tables. the waiter also insisted that they pay while seated on our current table. After all that was done and we came to move tables the manager insisted that in order to move tables each person would have to reorder a main dish. as the manager was fighting with us claiming that this is the policy of the place and that this is “not like any restaurant”, my plate arrived and the waiter so stupidly asked me to pay for the plate (mind you it hasn’t been even put on a table for me to eat NOR were we even seated yet, he just wanted me to pay for it) of course i didn’t pay for it and we left the place. it seems like they have lost all sense of logic and respect for their customers و بقوا عايشين الدور قوي

I ordered the beef and reef plate to be medium well it first came burnt and i requested it to be redone, second time it came raw with blood coming out of it and the steak felt squishy and then they took it to cook it a bit more and then the third time it also came slightly raw with blood still coming out, i told the manager to return it and that i don't want it anymore she came back to argue with us that we have to order a main dish or they will apply a minimum charge on the cheque while completely ignoring the fact that my order was very disappointing and that the plate was taken to the kitchen THREE times and still they didn’t get it right.
The manager kept saying it’s a restaurant and not a cafe which I completely i understand because it is a restaurant and known for it’s food which is why i wanted to take my friend from cairo to visit the place and try the food from the first place but the food was completely disappointing and i lost my appetite from how many times the food went going in and outside the kitchen while it wasn’t cooked properly and after all the arguing i ordered the veal and reef plate because she wouldn’t let us leave without ordering something else , the waiter then came over and told us to order something else because it won’t be cooked properly from how crowded the place is which i then proceeded to tell him that i don’t want to order anything else so he proceeded and told me to order chicken instead .
I shouldn’t be forced to eat something i don’t like especially after already ordering something that wasn’t done properly THREE TIMES.
They eventually let us leave without ordering something else but the service was a disaster and it shouldn’t be like this especially that it’s on trip advisor and people come from different countries to eat in this place so it’s a really bad representation for a top rated restaurant.
This restaurant offers a service so the main concern should be customer satisfaction and nothing else and the treatment we got just proves that they couldn’t care less about that especially that i mentioned that i’m a loyal customer to the place
We had just finished dinner and left when my toddler daughter suddenly needed to use the bathroom. My wife went back inside, and instead of showing a bit of understanding or basic human decency, the staff gave her a very hard time, insisting she couldn’t use the restroom because we were “no longer dining there.”
It’s appalling that a restaurant would treat paying customers this way, especially when it involves a young child. We had just eaten there, and this level of rudeness and lack of compassion is unacceptable.
We won’t be coming back, and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before supporting a place that treats families like this.

A truly exceptional view, Old World ambience, great service by the gentlemen working there (not so much by the young waitress) marred unfortunately by a mediocre culinary experience. The seafood mezze could really use a tartar sauce or something to help make it easier to eat but the fillet flambée had little to no crust and was a very soft, textureless experience. On a positive note, the restaurant is quite affordable with everything I ordered (3 beers, 1 cocktail, 1 mocktail, 1 mezze, 1 salad) totaling just 60 USD. Special shoutout to the bathroom staff, a gentleman who offered me potentially the best service I’ve ever had in my life period. He definitely left an impression on me. All in all, the place could be genuinely incredible with just some adjustments on the menu.

You would except to be treated fair in an international brand hotel but it was another tourist trap in Egypt.

A mix of Syrian & Lebanese cuisine, Byblos Restaurant offers a variety of tasty and authentic meals. From Ouzi, grilled Halloumi, to Mix Grills, the menu is wide and satisfying.
Albeit a little slow on the service side, Byblos has a fantastic view of the Beach, overseeing the Four Seasons Hotel Beach and the Alexandrian typical busy roads with yellow and black old cabs.
Too hungry? A basket of fresh Arabic bread shall be served with a small appetizer after you’ve placed your order, symbolic of the Arab generosity.

Seems like a good place, but I was not told that the place has a different name or that they have a dresscode. After I called them to reserve for two. So I travelled to the place looking for it, then I was told that I can't get in because I am wearing shorts. The host was so polite though.but I was so disappointed.

The best city for the sea view and weather is so nice
Very beautiful corniche, very lively and very scenic as well, the view of the city skyline along the Mediterranean is very beautiful and relaxing, and the weather along the sea is great, the corniche also has plenty of little food vendors and small canteens that sell everything from tea to some snacks to enjoy while you walk along the sea, definitely recommend walking along the corniche and spend some time alone or with your loved ones.

If you have enough time waking up early morning and take your kids if you have or your wife, girlfriend, friends, whatever, and take your breakfast and enjoined with your coffee ☕ in front of the sea and under the sun.

In Alexanderia we arrived on a Friday in month of Ramadan and afternoon roads were difficult to go through as crowds occupied the roads for their prayers As we were waiting patiently saw the trams go by and posted on pictures arevtje trams all blue line.The guide told us that the tramway network was operating from 1863 and only few tram systems operating double deck and we managed to see one and photograph is included .The tram system was electrified in 1902 in addition to AL Raml line there are also lines to central and western Alexanderia.Koltata in india has a tram line which commenced in 1863 with horse drawn trams which were replaced by steam in 1883 and finally electric locomotion and this is reason why I wish I could have taken a ride in double decker train which we saw and understand Alexanderia has only 6 coaches in its fleet..A very unique institution in Alexanderia and it is now 163 years old another record for Egypt to be proud of..

The heart of Alexandria. Very good view for the old area of Alexandria. Lots of shops for gifts and souvenirs and local restaurants to taste the famous food especially the take away ones. Approachable by all means of transportation. Very crowded area but nice to visit to enjoy the seaside and a good walk at the walkway. Recommended visit for people from outside Alexandria.

Fantastic old time bar in Alexandria. It is difficult to find but worth the effort. Really cool vibe with great music and reasonably priced drinks - if I lived in Alexandria, I'd be there every week. Enter through a building on Mohammed Ibrahim Selim side street. There is usually a security guard there at the building entrance, and he knows what you're looking for! Go inside the building and look to the left - you'll see it. A cool Alexandria experience
Great hidden bar in Alexandria, slightly difficult to find but worth it. Great selection of drinks, cool decor, and great music. Would highly recommend if visiting Alexandria.

It's always nice to find a local bar in Egypt, so it was great. The place was a bit hard to find, but that's good cz you really feel like you deserve that beer.
The place opened at 7 pm but we were there during the end of Ramadan, so not sure if it's a Ramadan thing or if that's how it always is. There was a 300le cover charge per head as well. We were only there for 1 beer, but they let us carry out 4 extra beers to make up for the cover charge. Which was nice.
They don't let you sit downstairs if yourw only 2, that part is reserved for bigger groups. But overall, the place is nice.
I didn't eat anything there, so not sure about the food.
I came to Alexandria for 5 days. And found this place. It is truly amazing place!! Honestly it is an amazing bar with good snacks and the best international music. Also very good rock songs!! The eagles, Metallica, Aerosmith, everything you find it here. I tried some bars in all over Alexandria. This is my favorite. Just to mention it is a Bar. Not a rest/bar. But the best place to chill out, relax, drink a beer and listen good music. I enjoyed a lot my time here. Miss it.
