Cocktail bar
Bar
Baba au Rum is a renowned cocktail bar located in Athens, known for its inventive and diverse drink selection. The bar offers a wide range of traditional and uniquely crafted cocktails, showcasing their passion for mixology. With accolades such as being named one of the 50 best bars in the world, Baba au Rum boasts a charming atmosphere and also sells its own rum for purchase.
Nice bar! The 50BestBar 2024 list was not wrong. Amazing drinks and atmosphere. Service lacks a bit of attentiveness but is hard to have it all. Its rum’s list is extensively amazing but we were there for the cocktails that do not defraud. No food in the bar but seems to be that they own the property across the street and you may have it… I went for the drinks and got more than enough. Although we spent more than 60€ per person we had several drinks each of us. And the unitary price is fair and you get great quality for your money.
Alse R — Google review
Athens might have a few “top 50” bars but this definitely meets the expectations. Great cocktails met with tasteful music (can’t say for all the other bars). Would recommend Devils Milk, one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Had mixture of 3 cocktails for €30, can’t complain
Charlie T — Google review
Summary: inconsistent quality of cocktails & bad service with attitude. No need to come here for rum cocktails if you’re from the US or Latin America. Edit: read the reply by the owner down below. This shows you what type of business this is and how nonchalant they are - threatening customers for honest reviews. I’m attaching video and photo taken from last night to prove I was there. I have taken proof of the threat and reserve any further rights. Went here because of the Top 50 ranking. The bar is cute and has a throwback vibe with a live DJ. The experience turned south quickly when I got my first highball which was flat, as I observed the bartender use an opened bottle of sparkling water. Who knows how long it’d been sitting there, and for €12 I’d expect a good drink. From there, the waitress in all blue denim outfit took my drink AND my water before I had finished. She was so busy hanging out with her coworkers and drinking behind the bar, I doubt she was fully functional. She was also rude when I told her about my drink, and said she was only responsible for cleaning the table. To get my drink back, I’d need to talk to the server or the bartender. The whole thing took about 20 min to resolve as they kept ignoring me and serving their friends at the bar. I had to flag down a poor server, who finally brought me my drink. The last straw was when they brought me a new highball, this time it was completely flat and so strong with the whiskey that it wasn’t really a cocktail at all.
Skip F — Google review
The cocktails were really good! I had the glass of tears and it was one of the best cocktails I tried in Athens. But sadly, due to being understaffed, the service was horrible. The waitress was kinda rude and you had to beg to order or have the check. I don’t blame her as it was packed on a Friday night and she was the only one taking orders.
Noyan Y — Google review
Unfortunately, I only remembered to take a photo after finishing my drink :) Overall, the cocktails were delicious. I tried the Delicious Sour and the Anti Novel Margarita. The Anti Novel Margarita was about 4.5/5 for me, while the Delicious Sour was a solid 4/5—maybe because I had higher expectations for it. The atmosphere and the street were beautiful, the bar itself looks great, and the DJ performance was really nice. Recommended!
Burak K — Google review
The cocktails here are pretty good. I like 2/3 of the cocktails I got and my boyfriend also liked 2/3 he got. I would stick to the rum base cocktails. Most of their cocktails are rum based anyways. We also got snacks as well, they weren’t rememberable but not awful.
Lauren C — Google review
I think this drink was one of the best cocktails I have ever had! That’s why this place is amongst the best bars in the world! It’s a bit hard to find a nice seat but I guess it worth the wait. Whenever I’m in Athens, I will visit Baba au Rum 🥰
Sahra K — Google review
If you are a pyrate, this is the place for you. Greatest rum selection I've ever seen, pretty much covering all South America and more. Went there for some cocktails for our last night in Athens and what a good place to end up! The gents at the bar are just wizards. No surprise the bar is in top 50 bars since 2019 (at least) permanently.

Cocktail bar
Nestled in the heart of Athens, The Clumsies is a renowned cocktail bar that has garnered international acclaim for its exceptional spirits and warm ambiance. Housed in a beautifully restored neo-classical building, this multi-room bar offers an all-day dining experience with breakfast, lunch, dinner menus, and an impressive selection of premium cocktails.
One can very quickly see why this location is one of the best bars in the world, hands down. I asked the bar tender to help choose drinks for me based on my preferred flavor profile and boy were each drink amazing. We had only planned on stopping in for a single drink and ended up sampling three. The only reason we left was due to dinner plans on the other side of Plaka. This location truly is unique and special and should not be missed.
Chad R — Google review
AMAZING! Really reaches the expectations, has a great ambiance, the staff is great and mostly the drinks were amazing. We ended up trying 3 and they were all great. We weren’t going to eat, but we ended up trying the corn balls and WOW!!!! So tender and delicious. Highly recommend the bar.
Luciana W — Google review
Absolutely loved the drinks here. By far my favorite cocktails I ordered in my time here in Greece. They are unique and have so much flavor. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in Athens.
Shannon O — Google review
One of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to. Nice atmosphere, very kind staff that don’t mind sharing their knowledge and explaining the drinks and most importantly: amazing drinks. They have a great selection of classic cocktails, but also a lot of very weird mixes that somehow work so so well. Will be returning to this one, for sure!
E — Google review
Such a great cocktail bar! The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel truly welcome from the moment you arrive. The cocktails are fantastic creative, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The Metaxa Angel is absolutely brilliant definitely a must-try if you visit! It's the kind of place that's perfect not only for a casual drink with friends but also if you want to explore and try something a bit more special. Highly recommended! 🍸
Marcin B — Google review
It was definitely one of the best bars I have ever been in. Amazing staff that knows their stuff, incredible selection of very tasty cocktails. Loved it, went there 2 times in 3 days. Tried multiple different cocktails, loved hippocampus and the one with bergamot and pine. Also the complimentary nuts were very tasty. They definitely know their stuff.
Noyan Y — Google review
A few days before our trip to Athens I read that The Clumsies was named one of the best cocktail bars in the world. I was very excited to see it was only a few minutes walk from our hotel. The bar is very quaint with fun decor and comfortable seating. We ordered the cocktail flight to share and I got the terra cotta cocktail (sorry, don't recall the actual name) and my wife had the Mediterranean Gimlet which she said was delicious and tastes like a Greek salad. Definitely a must for any travelers that love unique cocktails in a fun setting.
Jay H — Google review
I come to Athens every year and I finally made it to Clumsies. I had the highly awarded Aegean Negroni which was nice. The prices are great considering the award it has achieved as one of the highest rated bars in the world for 2025. For me a place that you come once and then try the many other boutique bars in and around Athens - hundreds of them. Ps not sure why the complimentary peanuts were half full ? Left over from a previous order or they find that’s all you really need? It kinda stood out

Six D.O.G.S is a versatile cultural hub that offers live music, DJ sets, art exhibitions, and club nights alongside a cozy cafe and bar. Since its establishment in 2009, it has garnered a dedicated following. The venue hosts an array of events including Greek rap gigs, techno DJ sets, art openings, and record launches. Its laid-back atmosphere and do-it-yourself aesthetic make it an integral part of Athens' nightlife.
At first glance, the front entrance made us think the bar was closed. We hesitated, but then noticed people heading down into the bar, so we followed—and we’re glad we did! It turned out to be very lively, likely due to the weekend crowd. The entrance gave off a cool speakeasy vibe, which added to the experience. Once inside, we found it quite cozy, making it a perfect spot for a couple of local beers.
Agnes O — Google review
Excellent bar-restaurant in a large yard. Great cocktails and very tasty Asian food! Good atmosphere, good music. They also have a club but it was a closed evening so we didn't go in, although it was recommended.
Mirit B — Google review
Very large outdoor space, shaded. Was hard to get service sitting inside in a booth. Good food and excellent coffee. They have decaf coffee and almond milk. Order a Greek mountain tea. The chicken tenders were huge and very delicious.
Jane N — Google review
Great place. Food is mostly Asian fusion. Good portions which taste good. Really good atmosphere, music & unique lay out. Better cocktails can be found elsewhere. Nevertheless a must visit place if you’re in Athens.
Bhavin N — Google review
Absolutely amazing. I love that it is focused on sustainability, the interior is lovely, the little courtyard adorable. Everything we ate was good, the burger, wrap, smoothie was amazing, coffee surprisingly not so great but maybe that's just me. The staff was nice. Loved the place and coming back for sure.
Tina K — Google review
Not the beeest place to come if you’re a tourist looking for authentic Greek food, but they make killer cocktails, the ambiance is amazing, and the food is great (just not suuuper Greek lol). We had the Dog, the artichoke salad, and a green smoothie and everything was very tasty. The wait staff was also very responsive and friendly.
Ceci J — Google review
Great place to have your coffee or lunch. There is a garden at the back with trees which makes the experience a nice quiet break, given that you are at the busiest part of Athens. This time I had lunch as well; their cuisine has a middle eastern touch so expect a plethora of spices, which might put of someone who just wants to eat chips with mayo ( my friend's teenage kid). I tried the burger and it was super delicious a bit on the spicy side. Service is a bit slow when you sit down and wish to order (no eye contact and depends on the level of professionalism of the waitress). It is also a super trendy night club with loads of live DJ acts but I personally consider it as my favourite coffee break place when downtown.
Eva T — Google review
A small, down-at-heel approach to the bar masks a trendy but relaxing bar with a huge outdoor shady garden perfect for winding away an afternoon or night. Great, chilled beats in the evening with everyone chatting and everyone having a great time and zero judgement or hassles. By the time night comes it turns into a Peter Pan-esque garden, somewhere you’d want to stay all night. Cocktails were cool and not overly expensive and the food surprisingly good.

Couleur Locale is a vibrant rooftop bistro and bar located in Athens, offering stunning views of the Acropolis, Parthenon, and other famous landmarks. Situated near Monastiraki Square, this hidden gem provides a more local and less touristy atmosphere compared to other rooftops in the area. With a young and trendy clientele, it boasts a relaxed ambiance, delicious cocktails, and live jazz, soul, and rock'n'roll music.
We went for brunch - on the rooftop. There's not enough servers, but they work hard. The food was excellent, much better than many rooftop places in the center. Really creative dishes. They also have smoothies and coffees and cocktails. And great acropolis views!
Kimmy K — Google review
Good rooftop bar in the center of Athens. The Acropolis views are spectacular. The food took a bit long to arrive and was nothing special, but the prices are very fair. For a drink this is definitely the place to go!
Joost N — Google review
This is the place where you can comfortably watch the Acropolis. It has a large terrace, and the prices and offerings are average for Athens. The service may be a little slow, but they leave you feeling quite comfortable. Order your drink and enjoy the atmosphere
Erdem E — Google review
Great rooftop bar with a view of the Acropolis, great for drinks and has a good value cheeseboard. Would recommend. Cheeseboard can be gluten free without the bread. Good Bloody Mary.
Sean L — Google review
I’ve been to Couleur Locale a few times 3-4 years ago and was always happy about the food and service, however today’s visit was beyond disappointing. I’ll start with the positives: When we arrived at 10:50 for brunch there was only one big group of around 10 people and us (2 people). At the time there was only one waitress but we were immediately served with water and she took our orders. We received our coffees and juice very fast, all 3 very tasty. The waitress was also very nice and the view on Acropolis was too. That’s where the positives end. We ordered our breakfast (toast with fried eggs - first position on the menu) and waited 50 MINUTES for the food to arrive. The place wasn’t that full and noone can tell me that preparing this easy brunch takes that long. Each ingredient of the food tasted good, however the meal altogether was too heavy, too salty and too oily and we weren’t able to finish it as we already felt sick. I think adding more healthy stuff to the whole meal would balance it more. After that we had to wait another 20mins for waitress to notice us wanting to pay. Unfortunately we spent more than 1.5h in that place which to me is too much if most of the time is waiting We definitely won’t be back again
Lesia D — Google review
Beautiful view! 😍 I only ordered a Prosecco and they totally forgot about me, so definitely some improvement needed. Wasn’t busy at all, so no clue how that happened. That said, worthy place to grab a quick drink and stare at the acropolis! 🥂
M E — Google review
You have to know about this place to find it and yet somehow a lot of people know it! The view of the Acropolis is amazing! The atmosphere is wonderful and although we just had drinks and a cheese platter, it was excellent! The prices are quite reasonable and the view is incredible wherever you sit! Definitely going back!
Jenny C — Google review
Stunning views of the Parthenon. Great dj and friendly staff. Amazing craft cocktails. The burger was tasty but a little messy. The club sandwich was the star for both my husband and I. The fries were crispy. We cleared our plates. The service was a bit slow but it was close to sunset and the place was overwhelmed.

Amazing bar with a great view on the acropolis of Athens. The atmosphere was super chill. Their cocktails were great as well. You can go there and enjoy the sunset or the night with friends. We were there on a Sunday evening but there were quite some people. We had a good time and I will definitely recommend !

A terrace with exceptional views of the Acropolis. Clean drinks, fair prices and friendly staff. There is no dedicated parking and the place does not have enough stools for the tables.
Σπύρος Κ — Google review
Cute little rooftop with chill vibes. I'd say come with a group if you're feeling social. It's fine if you're alone and want some passive socialization. Otherwise, at least, the night I went, the vibe was not conducive to meeting strangers. Entrance is off Salaminos. The doors are open when they are. Take the stairs to the top. Table service. Bill's brought to you shortly after your order. I think food is only available at certain times? I came at a time when there was no kitchen service but a little bowl of flavoured popcorn came with my beer to the table. Bathroom taps have a foot pedal to activate the tap. You'll see them on your way up to the rooftop, they're 1 level below.
Tansy C — Google review
Great rooftop bar with an amazing view of the Acropolis. They have lounge chairs and stools all over the terrace with a very chilled vibe. Nice cocktails, I would only give more nibbles with the drinks.

What a magical place! While enjoying the drinks and the view on the Acropolis (which never fails to amaze) there was a movie from 1973 called "The wild planet" running in the background. Probably one of the most unforgettable experiences in Athens.

The Juan Rodriguez Bar is a beautifully decorated cocktail bar located in the heart of Athens. The drinks are delicious and the staff attentive. The only downside is that parking can be a challenge, and it can sometimes be difficult to get inside if it's busy.
Passed this place during the day just by chance and was very intrigued from the outside. Very cool looking bar, which is 'black magic' themed. Had a drink at the bar, friendly staff. Was told it's a very popular place at night with a DJ.

Proper house music lounge/bar with great drinks and impeccable vibes. The decor is amazing and well thought out and the service is great. The crowd is 28 to 40+ years old. Anyone coming here won’t feel too old or out of place. The place can get quite crowded at some point.

The 7 Jokers Coffee & Cocktail Bar is a popular late-night spot in Athens, known for its creative cocktails, draft beers, and an impressive selection of rare spirits. It's a favorite among industry insiders and bartenders who often visit after their shifts. The bar features a lively atmosphere with DJ-approved rock and funk music that attracts both first-timers and loyal customers. The quirky decor adds to the charm, making it a hidden gem in the bustling city.
Quick and friendly service, delicious cocktails and charming atmosphere. The music was loud (which is okay) and the DJ did a great job.
Mieke M — Google review
A fun and funky place with great cocktails and friendly staff. Only thing to note as a tourist is they allow smoking inside, which can get a bit overwhelming if you’re sensitive to that like I am. Will be back!
Madison R — Google review
I really liked the interior of 7 Jokers. The coffee was very good, as was the service. It was quiet when I arrived, but the background music created some atmosphere. I imagine it can get quite busy here in the evenings once the drinking commences!
Dominic G — Google review
The bar was almost empty. After finishing our first drink, we wanted to order another. The lady who served us pretended not to see us. She was chatting with her friends at the other table or using her mobile phone. After waiting for forty minutes, we left.

"FANTASTIC QUIRKY DECOR" A lovely little gem of a cocktail bar hidden away in the winding back streets of Athens. With friendly staff and delicious nibbles to freely enjoy while you relax with your drinks and watch the world go by in this bustling city.
PHILIP B — Google review
Went for cocktails with some friends the other night and as the good reviews suggest, they do make a good drink. It’s small and cosy inside, nothing crazy but a good place for casual drinks. My one issue was that I wanted something that was on the menu (evros) but not with the coffee infused Campari- I wanted the same exact thing, but with regular Campari. Tell me why the evros is €12 on the menu, but me ordering something slightly more basic, got charged €15? I didn’t even question it cause at this point in my trip to Greece, I was burnt out from questioning all the suspicious charges on my restaurant/bar bills.

Ordered the Heartbeat and my goodness, it packed a punch! At 10 euros I think it’s v worthwhile 👍🏼 Loved the balance of the flavours and the space is cosy enough. I came here as a single female and I felt comfortable enough :)

Really close to Syntagma Square. One of the best and most beautiful Coctail bars in the area maybe the best. Difficult to find some space inside on Saturday but we went on Wednesday and it was super. The girl behind the bar is a pro. Awesome music also. Will go again and again.

Heteroclito is a cozy wine bar located in the historical center of Athens, on Mitropoleos square. It offers a wide range of prestigious Greek wines for customers to discover and appreciate. The bar serves well-known, renowned, rare, special, new, different and unique varieties at cellar prices. Recently expanded to create more space for wine lovers, it provides a chill and relaxed atmosphere where people can enjoy a glass of wine while standing in the pedestrian street.
This a hidden gem! The wines you can find there are fantastic! You can find wines from many countries and don't even hope to stay for "just one glass"! The atmosphere and the staff is top notch. Everyone is very welcoming, nice, cheerful, and competent. We stayed 3 days in athens, it was our favorite place to go to. Jotta took good care of us. We ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home. I found a new favorite place, what a wonderful surprise!

Step into a charming and welcoming bar, where an extensive and carefully curated selection of wines awaits—from vibrant, aromatic whites to bold, velvety reds and sparkling options. Whether you’re in the mood for a crisp sip or something more adventurous, there’s a bottle to delight your palate. The warm atmosphere and attentive service make it the perfect place to savor each taste and unwind with a glass in hand.

A nice place around the corner to get your drink and chill. Staff was friendly and helped with choosing the wine since they have a variety of that. The food was average, the bread was old. Price range is on a touristy scale. A nice experience.

Fantastic wine bar in Athens, we came back two days in a row because we loved it. We tried both of the Spritz which were great and on our second visit we shared a bottle of wine which was recommended to us, which was delicious. The staff were fantastic on both occasions, super friendly and helpful! Wish I had a wine bar like this near where I live in Australia.

Tiki Bar Athens is a vibrant hangout known for its playful decor, exotic cocktails, and regular DJ music. The bar's 80s kitsch nostalgia vibe features bamboo accents, plants, and leopard-print chairs. It offers a range of carefully crafted cocktails such as the Jamaican Sour with fresh lime and Campari, the American Smash with Tennessee whiskey and tropical options like the Dominican Margarita with rum.
Amazing cocktails and food! Best burgers we've ever had. Cosy seating inside with nice decor. Loved the atmosphere, would visit whenever possible.

The decor was the best part about Tiki Bar Athens. We each had a cocktail and they were good (I had a Paloma and my husband had a Mai tai) but nothing special. The complimentary popcorn as a bar snack was a nice touch. Service was slow though so I went to order the drinks at the bar myself and even ask for the bill when we were ready because the wait staff was nowhere in sight.

Sipping my way through Athens and stumbled upon a little slice of paradise at Tiki Bar 🍹✨ From the moment I walked in I was in love — the vibe, the tropical décor, the island-y energy — but the real showstopper? The cocktails. Some of the best I’ve had on this trip. If you’re in Athens, this is a must-stop & toast spot. Whether you’re chasing a sunset sip or late-night island escape, Tiki’s your ticket.

Can't wait to enjoy my cocktails during summer up there!!
Georgia N — Google review
After enjoying the ancient monuments in the Acropolis area, we decided to have dinner at City ZEN All Day Bar Restaurant. The reason we chose this place was that an older gentleman at the entrance warmly greeted us earlier in the day, so we went upstairs to make a dinner reservation and requested outdoor seating to enjoy the view of the Acropolis as it lit up from sunset to night. However, we noticed that the staff repeatedly emphasized the 25-euro minimum spend per person when we were ordering. While we didn’t mind, we observed that other tables seemed to only order a beer and leave, which made us wonder if there was some form of differential treatment. Additionally, we asked a female server for forks three times, and although she said she would bring them, they never arrived. Despite these service issues, we were satisfied with the food and ambiance. The price was reasonable, and the sunset and night views were stunning. It made for a very enjoyable evening with family on our first day in Athens.

City Zen is located in the heart of Plaka. As a rooftop spot, it can be a bit tricky to find, but it's absolutely worth the effort. This cozy rooftop offers stunning views of the Acropolis, creating the perfect atmosphere for drinks and unforgettable moments. The DJ adds a lively yet relaxed vibe, enhancing the overall ambiance. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring you're well taken care of throughout your visit. Like many restaurants in Athens, don’t expect luxury or extravagance City Zen embraces a more laid-back, authentic charm. And that’s exactly what makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking a genuine Greek experience.
Johanne M — Google review
the servers are really nice and very helpful and the place is gorgeous but the food is just really not it. it was just incredibly boring and overpriced. the pasta with chicken tasted like something you would feed a 3 year old with just pure cream and nothing else. and the chicken was so dry and tasteless. most of the other food was very sad as well and the greeksalat had feta with vanilla in it?? weird experience but i’d say if you are just here for drinks it would be really good since the view if just perfect.
Mathilde E — Google review
What a rip-off! We went there for a quick break, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish. First, we chose a rooftop table and politely asked if they could open the umbrella so we wouldn’t sit directly under the sun while enjoying the Acropolis view. The staff flatly refused — with no real explanation, just “we can’t do that.” So we moved downstairs instead, but the service didn’t get any better. The waiter ignored us for about 20 minutes before finally taking our order — and it wasn’t even busy. The table next to us, who arrived later, had already received their food before our order was even taken. To make things worse, it seemed like the waiter was more interested in chatting up that table (which happened to be all girls) than actually serving customers. After repeating our order several times, he still managed to get it wrong. And when the bill came, it was confusing and looked suspiciously off — even after asking twice for clarification, it still didn’t add up. There are plenty of better places nearby with honest pricing and decent service. No wonder this place was almost empty. Definitely not recommended.
Pavlos N — Google review
We chose this restaurant primarily for its beautiful views. From the reservation stage onward, the staff were courteous and helpful. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive, anticipating even the subtlest needs, and the service throughout was truly world-class, greatly enhancing our dining experience. We enjoyed it so much that we returned to the same table the following day and were delighted to be served by the same attentive gentleman, whose recommendations - including excellent cocktails - were much appreciated. The food was flavorful and well prepared, with generous portions, particularly the desserts. Spending our final evening in Athens here was a pleasure. Thank you!

Phenomenal. Kind and knowledgeable staff. Amazing freddo. One of the best coffees I've ever had. They also freeze servings of their single origins, which I haven't seen before in my travels, and greatly appreciated the dedication to the craft. Closest I'll more than likely ever come to having coffee that fresh. A must visit for enthusiasts.

They give you 3 different cups to experience the smell, taste, and body of the coffee. Many, many different beans to choose from, especially for espressos. I got the hand drip (filter coffee, V60, pour over) and it was expertly crafted to draw out the flavour of the single origin beans.

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve tried. The flavor is rich, the quality is top-notch, and the baristas are skilled and friendly. Every cup is brewed with attention to detail. The place is simple yet elegant, comfortable for sitting or just taking away. Prices are fair for the quality. Does it deserve another visit? ✅ Yes, absolutely."

Just received has a gift from a bag of premium geisha beans. What was supposed to be a wonderfully fruity, sweet and complex cup of filter coffe, very quickly became a bitter disappointment. As soon as opening the bag you can see just how rough is the roast on that lot, absurdly uneven roast with a lot of way too light and developed beans and plenty of much darker that preferred for this kind of coffee. Gave it a try a couple of times, traying to maximize the situation by technique and brewing parameters chance... But unfortunately the roast is awful and the beans went to the "cold brew beans"... What a waste for 30€ for 150gr of beans... Those poor poor beans...

Came across this wonderful place when we arrived early for a play. We decided to have a drink and fell instantly in love with the atmosphere and the nice music! After the play we came back for dinner (as did many others) and were seated at a small table inside. Since we were there for food, we requested a larger table so as to have enough room for our plates. We were immediately taken to a larger table which had just become available! The Bloody Mary was a big disappointment. It was too salty and the tomato juice was a very basic variety. It was a busy night but more attention from the staff would have been appreciated. At this level a bit more care from the bartender is required.

The restaurant is well dedigned in an elegant way and is hidden from the overall "beauty" of the surroundings. I went there for a business dinner but I dont think there would be much difference if it was privately. Went there @18.30 and left @22.30 having just finished the dessert. There were long waiting times even for a beer (not all of the to be fair) - we had the food around 21.00 although we didnt delay the order. The steak (veal) was well cooked but nothing special in terms of taste. Salad was better. Pinsa good but rather small. Dessert was interesting but only the pastry, sorbet chocolate so and so. Overall I dont believe it was worth the price the company paid and I would most probably wouldn't choose it myself again. Variety of beers was reduced as opposed to wines, but since we didnt opt for wine I cannot say anything.

Made a booking for 4 inside without issues. Arrived and got sat outside in the hallway - slightly annoying but at least the staff apologised for the change of plans. Ordered from a comprehensive wine list and everyone was satisfied. Got a really nice beef tartare, the chicken was alright and the dishes generally satisfactory with the exception of the aubergine that was a let down, the various purees really didn't mix well. Service was great, the staff attentive, quick and polite. Fairly expensive, justified mostly by the service and the location. Decent option but there's a lot of good alternatives in the city centre to better cater to someone's tastes.

Line Athens is a bar and restaurant in the Kato Petralona neighborhood, founded by The Clumsies duo and Dimitris Dafopoulos. The establishment operates with a focus on sustainability and zero-waste practices, producing its own fruit wines made from fermented fruits like figs and pomegranates. Emphasizing seasonality and sustainability, Line sources ingredients from small Greek producers to create unique fruit wines and craft beer.

You know, no 6 in cocktail bar ranking in 2024, so it's what should you expect. Cocktails are mind blowing. Some I had to take a bit to process and understand. Finished up stong with the dry vermouth done there. Amazing alchemy lab they have in the back. Food ... I would go for smaller portions. Good but not quite there with the cocktails. All in all, great experience. Will go again when in Athens.

For cocktail enthusiasts, this spot is a must-visit. The drinks are brilliantly conceived and executed. Cute little wine bar, with great service, nice wine list and simple but delicious shared plates. We had the burrata, the grilled zucchini plate and the rooster with crispy gnocchi. We sat outside facing the square. Definitely recommend if you’re in this area of Athens, which has a great atmosphere— young families / locals and a lot of restaurant options.

Smell of cat and pet faeces. Good below mediocre with a very poorly thought menu and sloppy execution (at best). Quite bad wine list which is particularly disappointing for a wine bar. Service mediocre at best with slow pace… There are significantly better options in the area - do not waste your time/money here

This modern, casual wine bar ... that is located on a pedestrian road in the Athens, Pagrati neighbourhood ... is a real oasis for wine & food lovers that I'm happy to recommend!👍😊 Here, apart from serving wine and food, the place has a well stocked wine shop and two underground wine cellars with a good selection of Greek and international wines ... that I really enjoyed visiting with Vassiliki; a staff member who was a real pro and shared her knowledge & expertise with me and another friend . . . in a truly pleasant manner. 😊👍 There were lots of tempting wines to taste and with Vassiliki's guidance we opted for four different wines that we paired with some carefylly crafted & tasty simple dishes from their trendy menu. 👍😋👍 On another summer evening ... we opted for a truly pleasant chilled Chenin Blanc served with 2 different cheeses (Graviera from the island of Kasos & delish Saint Michael) + the Almira salad that I really like! 👍😋👍😋 Definitely going back soon. 😊😉😊

Athens at its best. A super cute wine bar, in a small urban haven (quiet pedestrian street next to a small park and playground) with a wide selection of local and international wines and bites. If the owner Michalis is there, make sure to ask for his recommendations.

Ciel Athens is a chic rooftop venue located near the Metropolitan Cathedral in the heart of Athens. The rooftop offers both indoor and outdoor seating with lush greenery, striking wall art, and panoramic views of iconic landmarks such as the Acropolis, Lycabettus, and the Temple of Hephaestus. Guests can savor a diverse menu featuring all-day brunch, Mediterranean dishes, and signature cocktails while enjoying selected music genres in a vibrant atmosphere.
Nice rooftop bar and restaurant with views of the square and Acropolis. The drinks are very good and reasonably priced for the area. Quick wait time and there is indoor and outdoor seating. Be careful mid day upstairs when it gets hot 🫠 worth checking out if you’re out for drinks in the area

Really great location (central, safe, quiet) and the staff were super friendly. The rooftop bar is immaculate with a great view and amazing food/drinks. The rooms are cleaned daily and are quite nice. The only issue we had which was super manageable was that the drain in the bathroom was emitting a smell. We were able to open the bathroom window and air it out. I definitely recommend this place.

We stayed here for two nights. The staff were very helpful. Check in was super smooth and easy. The room we had was small but quaint. We had enough space for our luggage. Very clean and comfortable. We had the view of the church and it was beautiful to see in the day and night. The rooftop is also a beautiful spot to visit. We would go up during the day and night to enjoy the view. A lot of restaurants nearby. A grocery store just downstairs. Another plus is that if you are a guest at the hotel you can get 10% off on your order from the restaurant downstairs.

I booked a table on the rooftop as had been recommended by friends. Cocktails were fabulous and the perfect sunset view of the Acropolis. Food was good but not exceptional and sadly spoiled for me by the number of smokers around us. I thus would definitely go back for cocktails as there was a great atmosphere and the view was fabulous. I would eat in the downstairs restaurant or elsewhere.

The roof top restaurante offers amazing views of the Acropolis, perfect for a relaxed breakfast. The food was good and well prepared, but the highlight was the service. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A great place to start the day with good food and an even better atmosphere.

Stayed here one night and it was great. Super comfortable rooms and bed. The roof top bar was great and prices weren’t crazy. Amazing view of the acropolis. Only slight issue is the spiral staircase to the roof, my parents struggled with that. Wish the elevator went all the way to the top. Also the view is a little blocked from the back seats which is a shame.

recently visited Ciel Restaurant in Athens, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered the risotto, and it was honestly one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had. The texture was completely off mushy and raw,The flavor was bland and unbalanced. For a restaurant that presents itself as a high-end dining spot, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. I had been looking forward to a nice meal, but instead, it was a major disappointment. I rarely write negative reviews, but I think it’s important to share honest feedback. I truly hope the restaurant takes this as a chance to improve, especially when it comes to their risotto and overall food quality.

For a rooftop bar, it did what needed to be done. I ordered the Mastiha cocktail and it wasn’t strong and very sweet. If you love sweet cocktails, it will work for you. Service is decent and I didn’t need a reservation to get in. You will also get really great views of the Acropolis and the sunset unobstructed.

It’s our first day in Athens! If a drink cost $17 Euro Drinks then the service needs to also be up to that level $17. We spend $40 Euro for three drinks. My drink was just juice $8 Euro for a glass full of ice and a little juice Really? I don’t drink alcohol so this was well not what I expected. The waitress was not great, she spend most of her time on her cell phone, never once came to check on us, do you need more drinks, ask us if we needed anything? I had to keep asking her for things, raising my hand asking for things more pop corn, another cherry, a glass of ice for the water. This is a tourist spot not one locals so you are our first impression. The view is spectacular, Go for the view and enjoy it but just ask for a different waitress. The blonde young lady who took my photos was awesome we should have tipped her instead. $40 for drinks! Atleast come ask us if we want another drink, a piece of bread or something. But the View was worth it.

Wonderful view of the city, drinks are good but a little pricey for the area. A Coke is 5.50 and an Arizona iced tea is 7 euros but a beer is 8. Mixed drinks are 14-22. We are a group of 8 with one under 18 and they were quick to tell us everyone in the party needed to order something. A little petty considering our bill would be over 100 euros with the rest of us ordering.

It was nice, with a great view of the acropolis. Reaching the place can be a bit confusing - just go into the building google indicates and then take the elevator to the top floor - after that you still have to climb a set of stairs to reach the rooftop though! The service itself was ok but I thought it could have been better, especially when it started raining and I wasn't sure where to move. Ordered Gemista and some salad, the gemista was a bit cold.

Brettos bar, the oldest distillery in Greece, is a must-visit destination in Plaka. Established in 1909, it offers an overwhelming variety of traditional Greek spirits like Ouzo, Tsipouro, Rakomelo, and brandy. The iconic bar boasts an extensive wine list featuring both familiar and ancient grape varietals from all over Greece. Its flamboyant decor with liqueur bottles lit up by colorful lights creates a feast for the eyes.
We didn’t get any food her but the bar is fantastic. One of the most unique places I’ve ever been and so many different home made liqueurs to try. If you’re in Athens this place is a MUST visit. I still regret not buying one of the liqueurs to take home- just means we gotta go back!!

We entered the bar, and sat down. We looked though the menu and waited for one of the bartenders. There were only a few other couples inside. The bar is small but very unique. They have a large selection of drinks and cocktails. We unfortunately we're unable to order as no one attended to us. We left after about 10 mins.

Historic soul of Athens. Visited during my Athens bar crawl — Brettos is said to be the oldest bar-distillery in the city (since 1909), glowing with walls of colorful bottles and stacked wooden barrels. Tried a local white from rare Greek grape Kydonitsa — crisp and aromatic — and finished with a warm Rakomelo, a local mix of rakija, honey, and cinnamon. The staff knows their craft, and the whole atmosphere feels authentic and alive. a local Kydonitsa wine and finished with a warm Rakomelo — both excellent local tastes. Full of charm, good vibes and history - a must-stop in Plaka for anyone exploring authentic Athens bars.

Visiting Brettos Bar in Athens' charming Plaka neighborhood was a vivid highlight of my trip. You can't miss the stunning backlit wall of hundreds of colorful bottles—it’s truly mesmerizing and perfect for photos . Originally founded in 1909 as Greece's oldest distillery, Brettos still crafts its own ouzo, brandy, tsipouro, and more than 36 flavored liqueurs using centuries‑old Smyrna family recipes . Inside, the atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, thanks to wooden barrels, stone walls, and a friendly, rustic vibe. I popped in mid‑afternoon when it was quieter and loved getting expert recommendations from the bartender—sampling everything from Mastika to quadruple‑distilled ouzo and rakomelo was a delight . The staff were super helpful, passionate, and excellent at guiding me through the vast menu. One reviewer noted, “The staff is super helpful and energetic, always ready to assist you while you enjoy your drinks” . That energy really shines in person. Brettos also offers a fine selection of over 160 Greek wines, plus cocktails and beers. Seating is cozy—inside and out—and perfect either for a leisurely afternoon tasting or an evening drink stop. It’s the kind of place where both locals and travelers mingle, offering an authentic taste of Greek hospitality . Highly recommended for lovers of fine spirits, vibrant décor, and friendly service. Whether you're snapping photos or savoring homemade spirits, Brettos is a must‑visit gem in Athens!

Read about this place prior to visiting Athens so I was really excited to find it. We sat at the bar and read the drink menu then we sat and continued to sit. Despite having 3 servers who appeared available, not one of them spoke to us, or even acknowledged we were there. After receiving zero service we left and will not be back.

Brettos is one of Athens finest Establishments. My family and I have been coming to Greece for close to 3 decades and I've always recommended and will continue to recommend Brettos as one of if not the best wine bars there. The snacks they provide are always delicious, not full meals but definitely a brilliant parking to any of the beverages you can try. The Service is always absolutely incredible with the staff being friendly and helpful always trying to make the experience as pleasant as possible. If you haven't been in person yet - GO!!! The atmosphere is one of the best out of any of the options that Athens has to offer. The multi coloured bottles with lights around the exterior facade of the bar give it it's signature look. I'll be back without a doubt and additionally keep on recommending. Keep up the fantastic work Ladies and Gents.

One of the pinnacle bars of Athens. Fairly extensive drinks menu, but they will mix up most, if not any, drinks you ask for. Its small and intimate, yet has a great atmosphere. Staff are friendly, and were keen to give recommendations of what to drink. Open late, so its a great place to end an evening. For people from the UK, it was also featured on Richard Ayoade's '48 Hours in...' travel series, where he visited Brettos with Dawn French. Thoroughly recommended.

A whiskey bar that has one of the largest collections of whiskey that my husband has ever seen! He was very impressed with the menu and got to try some whiskeys that he hadn’t even known about. One of the nicest bars I've been to in Athens with great background music. Inside the decor is cozy, warm & inviting ... whereas outside it feels more like a street cafe that is ideal for warm autumn days & evenings with a bit of a breeze! The whiskey selection is outstanding and there are plenty of other drinks and cocktails on offer ... as well as snacks, cheese and cold cut plates ... for all tastes! My hubby tried the mini burger with his whiskey which he said was tops and I enjoyed a glass of red wine with freshly roasted nuts. The prices are reasonable for the quality and truly friendly service! We are definitely going back really soon.

Nice jazz bar in the quiet part of Kolonaki. Mistakenly, I went there expecting to enjoy some live music -- the place is what is says it is, a bar, perfectly styled for the Jazz with some nice music playing and a good selection of well-made cocktails available. Perched atop the luxurious Grande Bretagne hotel in Athens, GB Roof Garden offers a refined and cosmopolitan dining experience. The restaurant boasts elegant decor, low lighting, and stunning views of the Acropolis from its 8th-floor location. Renowned Greek chefs Sotiris Evangelou and Asterios Koustoudis curate an exceptional menu featuring dishes that showcase the finest ingredients from land and sea.
We ate here for our last dinner on a multi-week Greece trip… Could not have chosen a better place to end the vacation. The night view is second to none in Athens. The wine list was extensive but the sommelier helped select a suitable bottle. The waiters and hostess were helpful and felt happy that we chose their restaurant to dine in. The food was all very tasty and if you can sit outside at night, definitely do it!
Kyle S — Google review
The restaurant has a beautiful setting with stunning views of the Acropolis and a modern, elegant interior. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the atmosphere. It was slow and disorganized throughout the meal. I specifically ordered a lamb dish and clearly mentioned no pork due to dietary restrictions, but it still came with pork sausage on the side. They did correct the mistake, but it took over 20 minutes to bring a new plate. The food itself was okay — fresh but not particularly special or memorable. Given the high-end setting, I expected better execution and more attentive service. A decent experience overall, but not one I’d be in a rush to repeat. I don’t recommend it.
Sharif A — Google review
Service was a 10/10. Staff were amazing, kind and very knowledgeable. However, you’re paying for the view here and/or you’re looking for an extensive wine collection. Cocktails are good but extremely overpriced. Spritz are $27. Our Greek salad was the same as anything on the street but ran us $26 with far less feta. Saddle of Lamb was extremely minimal for $50 and the Tagliatelle tasted just greasy. $20 for water is outrageous as well. We were so excited for this place and told at check in to make a reservation instantly. Wish we ate around town once more and passed on this.

The GB roof garden was a great place to enjoy dinner with the best view of Athens. Request a table by the terrace and you will be able to see the Acropolis, Parthenon, Erechteion, the Panathenaic Stadium and the Presidential Palace. The staff were very friendly. They didn’t rush as at all. We enjoyed an appetitive and then dinner. There were vegetarian options. I highly recommend the burratta with peach and the ravioli. The desserts were good too, we liked the tiramisu. The servers took some time to get our food order after the aperitivo but they gave us the desserts as a courtesy for the delay. All in all a great experience that I can recommend for a romantic dinner to see the sunset.

Hands down, this was the best meal we had in Athens and truly the highlight of our dining experience. Every dish felt like a comforting home-cooked meal elevated with a creative twist. The slow-cooked lamb was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the mushroom ravioli with speckles of truffle was decadent and perfectly balanced, and the salad with smoked chicken and strawberries was both refreshing and inventive. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and prepared with great attention to detail. The ingredients tasted fresh and authentic, and it was clear that a lot of passion went into the cooking. From starters to dessert, everything exceeded our expectations. What really stood out was the combination of excellent service and delicious food – it made the whole experience unforgettable. It’s not easy to find a place where both the quality of the dishes and the friendliness of the staff are this exceptional. Without a doubt, we will return on our next visit to Athens. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic, delicious, and memorable dining experience in the city!

I visited A Little Taste of Home on my first night in Athens, having been recommended a visit. The restaurant is on a bustling street, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating, depending on what you prefer. After being warmly welcomed, we sat down and explored the menu. To start, my husband and I shared some fabulous meatballs. They were delicious and a very hearty portion, too. For my main course, I opted for a ‘Euphoria’ salad, a combination of smoked chicken, Gorgonzola, and strawberries—which sounded intriguing. It wasn’t something I’d had before, but the combination worked, and it was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive, and overall we had a great meal. I would definitely recommend a visit.

They’ve both inside and outside dining area. Easy to get table at 1pm even though it’s Sunday. Atmosphere: cozy and clean with nice music Location: close to Main Street. Easy to access Food: salad is great. Meat balls tastes good but a bit too dry. Beef ribs are so tender but it would be nice if it’s more juicy. Now it’s good to eat with the delicious mashed photos Staff are so friendly, helpful and polite. They introduced every dishes with passion.

Wow. This place was incredible. Specifically came here for the lamb, but everything else tasted amazing. The fried cheese with a pomegranate and lime jelly was an amazing flavor combination; the shrimp with rice was also very flavorful. Above all, the service went above and beyond. I would highly recommend it.

People don't have to watch or read reviews, just sit and enjoy because whatever you order, you will eat perfect food as if you had prepared it at home. So this is a really perfect place with perfect food and service. And five stars is too little for this place, and all praise for the waiter Niko who really tries his best to explain and explain everything to each guest.

We were BLOWN AWAY by our experience at this restaurant last night. The food, the customer service, the entire experience was nothing short of perfection! We had the lamb in the oven, pork short rib and the shrimp giouveti and all were INCREDIBLE! (See photos!) Special mention to Julia, the hostess, who was so friendly and accommodating 🥰🙏🏼 Overall, this was one of the best meals we had in Athens 🙌🏼 hands down.

Noel, located on central Kolokotroni street in Athens, is a stylish bar and restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The establishment offers French-influenced cuisine, including Italian-inspired dishes such as appetizers, pasta, pizza, bruschette, and salads. The cocktail menu features twenty-one unique selections made with seasonal and Mediterranean ingredients.
This was absolutely the most beautiful bar I've ever entered! It was stunning, and I could've spent all evening simply admiring the decor. Masterfully crafted cocktails, excellent service, and a wonderful evening all together. Great music, also! They had a DJ curating the music.

High end bar offering creative and sophisticated cocktails with flavor twists. Beautiful interior that mesmerizes you and makes the setting perfectly comfortable for a night out with your friends. Offering a vast list of signatures drinks, the drinks, while tasty, are pricey compared to other bars in the nearby area. Regardless, it’s worth a visit for the ambiance, music and creative cocktails they offer that you won’t find anywhere else. My visit was during the weekend daytime which offered plenty of seating. However, at night, I’m sure it is plenty busy!

I never write review but I had to for this place! Hands down such an amazing place for food and drinks! Have been in Athens for a week now and this is the best food, service and atmosphere I’ve experienced so far!! Highly recommend the salmon avocado bruschetta! I can’t say enough amazing things about this place, it’s a must if you’re in Athens!
Chloe S — Google review
Noel was on our radar as a cocktail bar until we walked by it during the lunch hour and people were inside. We changed our original lunch plans to dine at Noel and didn't regret it. To eat, we ordered pork gyros and the cheese pizza for our eight-year-old daughter. Everything was delicious! The gyros don't come with sauce or tzatziki, but it didn't need it. The meat was perfectly flavored and paired well with the bread and onions. To drink, I ordered one of their more sweet cocktails with a berry garnish. It was refreshing!

We found this place on accident, but the decor looked intriguing. Inside it was whimsical and stunning! We ordered a burger and Greek salad it was really good, as well as the Nectar of the Isles cocktail. It was the most beautifully decorated restaurant we’d been to. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating. The service was good. We would definitely return!

This is a super cool cocktail bar in Athens. Great for a Friday night with music and good drinks. The decoration is really cool with lots of nature vibe things on the walls and ceiling. There is also area to hang out outside. A music see hang out spot in Athens.

We liked the atmosphere of this local place. We sat outside but there is another world inside of this place and the decoration is impressive. We had the cocktails pf Odysseus Journey and Heart of July. They also bring popcorn which was a great surprise. Music was great and the staff were nice. Definitely recommended!

This place is a gem, I had hours to kill before my flight, they let me put my guitar, suitcase, and bag in their office while I ate, drank coffee and waited. Food was amazing, coffee was too, and the service was perfect. The courtyard was great, tons of plants and very serene. Highly recommend

Black Duck Garden is a true hidden gem and an absolute must-visit in Athens Center. Tucked away in the beautiful garden of the Athens City Museum, it offers a stunning, serene escape from the noise and heat of the city streets. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip—it feels elegant, lush, and perfectly relaxed, especially in the evening when the lighting must be magical. The dishes were fresh, beautifully presented and delicious! What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. Our server was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel upscale without being stuffy. Whether you’re stopping for coffee, brunch, or a romantic dinner, this place delivers on setting, quality, and service. Highly, highly recommended!

Kuko's The Bar has become a popular nightlife spot in downtown Athens over the past few years. It offers top-notch service and boasts an elegant yet unpretentious ambiance. The bar features jazz, funk, and soul music during the week, while guest DJs keep the party going until 7:00 AM on weekends. Visitors have praised the friendly service and enjoyed drinks and music until the early hours of the morning.
We had brunch at Kuko’s today and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and well presented, and the service was good and friendly. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Stopped because the place looked promising. We had one quick drink and stayed for about 20 minutes. The waiter visibly cracked it when we politely declined to leave a tip. I’ve travelled extensively across Greece, speak the language, and have visited everything from high end venues to humble family run tavernas. Never have I encountered such rude, entitled behaviour. This wasn’t just awkward, it was absolutely disgusting. Hospitality is supposed to be a cornerstone of Greek culture, and Kukos completely missed the mark. There are far better spots in Athens that don’t treat you like a walking wallet.

Indulge in creative Mediterranean cuisine and signature cocktails while taking in the mesmerizing vistas at this luxurious Athenian gem.
This is a wonderful restaurant in Athens, offering breathtaking views of the Acropolis. Located on the 10th floor of the Electra Hotel, it provides a fantastic dining atmosphere. We booked our dinner online in advance, although we couldn’t select an outdoor table through the website. Luckily, arriving early allowed us to secure an outdoor table with an incredible view. We three enjoyed our meal a lot. Both the appetizers and main courses were delicious and expertly prepared. The food truly met our expectations. While the service was generally okay, though some staff seemed less friendly and not helpful. Nevertheless, the exceptional food and stunning scenery more than made up for it. Overall, we agreed this is a restaurant we would love to visit again.

This is the place where we enjoyed a delicious dinner with a stunning view of the Parthenon and the city of Athens. Although the terrace was closed during our visit in December, it didn't affect the view at all. Thanks to what seemed like special glass, the Parthenon appeared magnified, as if it were right in front of us. The Greek salad we ordered was absolutely delicious - the cheese and dressing were exceptional. The steak was incredibly tender, melting in our mouths, and the sauce was excellent. The squid pasta was unbelievably tasty as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the dessert too. The service from the staff was flawless. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Perfect place for dinner in Athens. I had a reservation, and I asked them on spot to change my table because I wanted a better view and they immediately did. The waitress was very friendly but unfortunately the manager was rude (noticed it 2-3 times). The food was amazing and the service too! Recommended.

Honestly we were only there for drinks and snacked on some delicious nuts. The view of the Acropolis is one of the best in the city. Deck is small. And there are birds. But added to the atmosphere. Drinks are pricey, so be prepared to pay up.

Dining at Electra’s Rooftop Restaurant was an elegant and unforgettable experience. From the moment we were seated, our lovely server , who we later learned is the head waitress ,made the evening exceptional with her thoughtful recommendations and genuine warmth. Every dish was divine, from the silky burrata to the perfectly cooked chicken and the heavenly dessert that followed. The ambiance, paired with the stunning view, made the night feel truly special. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Athens!! especially to us food snobs from New York who know and appreciate fine dining done right.

Maor G — Google review
Breathtaking view, disappointing service. We were excited to dine at Metropolis Roof Garden and arrived without a reservation, hoping for availability. The hostess was absolutely lovely and managed to seat us at a beautiful table with a perfect, unobstructed view of the Acropolis. The setting was incredibly romantic and upscale, and the food and drinks were both delicious. Unfortunately, the service completely missed the mark. Our server took our full order at the beginning and then never returned to check on us—not once. Both of our drinks were empty well before our entrees arrived, and we were never asked if we wanted another round. Water was being poured by staff, but they kept confusing our still and sparkling, which affected the taste. To make matters worse, staff attending nearby tables were frequently dropping things and making a lot of noise, which disrupted the otherwise elegant atmosphere. For a restaurant that presents itself as fine dining, the service was shockingly inattentive. We felt ignored, and it left us wondering if it was due to being American tourists or a gay couple—either way, it’s unacceptable. We won’t be returning and cannot recommend this place, especially at this price point.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Attic Urban Rooftop. We had a great table with an amazing view of the Acropolis and we would given the best service from Victoria and Tasos. I would definitely recommend a meal at this restaurant for the most amazing experience in Athens.

Great place with good food, good drinks (very interesting cocktails!) and the best view onto the Akropolis. Especially at night the view is crazy and they even have a DJ playing so the atmosphere is awesome. Giorgos Z was really nice and caring. Sometimes we just had to wait a bit until someone came to order but guess that's because of the many guests.

The vibe, the view and the cocktails were amazing. Definitely a spot to visit when coming to Athens especially when you are facing the Acropolis. Our water Giorgos Z, thank you for your service. It was excellent. Thank you for re-doing my friends drink for the video 😂 appreciate it! Haha

The cocktails we had here were delicious and the views are spectacular, city and Acropolis and ruins. The food was rather disappointing though. Beef carpaccio wasn't good at all and the bread was nothing noteworthy. They'll charge you extra if you make the mistake of ordering butter 😂 stick with olive oil. Service is good and the ambiance is really great.

The Urban Attic Rooftop Terrace is an absolute gem! From the moment you step onto the terrace, you’re greeted with a stunning panoramic view of the city — the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening or a special celebration. The atmosphere is stylish yet laid-back, with cozy seating, soft lighting, and a chic urban vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure your glass is full and your experience is perfect. Definitely get the rice it’s very good and taste like home comfort food. The pide and lahmacun wrap were ok. Trying to be a bit different with the flavours but the bread wasn’t so soft or fluffy and a little dry so I wouldn’t say it’s the best pide I’ve had. Dessert was great though.

Co-owned by Aris Sklavenitis, a renowned sommelier, Oinoscent has quickly grown from a small wine bar to a spacious restaurant that attracts wine enthusiasts. The establishment offers Mediterranean-inspired dishes with hints of Asian influence, creating perfect pairings with their diverse wine collection.
Everything about this place was excellent. From the first interaction at the front of house, to every dish and wine pairing. This place knows complex flavors and are very creative with ingredients and textures. To the staff, I apologize, I should've tipped more, but its my first time in Greece and first night in Athens. More than accommodating, she made a lasting impression on us. The wine selection is well curated from choice selections across the world. Served in proper stemware and with care. Very disappointing experience. We ordered two wines from the “Fine Wine” selection, and both were poured from the end of the bottle. One of them was completely full of cork residue. The bartender didn’t ask if it was acceptable, as is usually done, and didn’t even apologize when I showed him the glass full of cork pieces. For a place that presents itself as a professional wine bar, this level of service and attention to detail is unacceptable. I would avoid.

The service was very thoughtful and made for a great final last evening in Greece. Convenient, unequalled sunset dining view.

We stopped by this rooftop bar just for a drink before dinner. You get an amazing view to Acropolis and there was a good vibe on this rootop bar where people were eating and drinking. A great place to stop by if you want to catch a refreshing drink before heading out to dinner.
Gard K — Google review
The rooftop has a nice setting and amazingviews, but the experience was disappointing. The cocktails tasted pre-made and lacked freshness. The gin and tonic was served fully prepared at the table, including the tonic, which made it seem like they used old tonic without bubbles or something from a box. The cosmopolitan tasted only like grenadine and nothing else. Service was slow. No one checked on our table, and we had to call the staff several times before they took our order or brought new drinks. The food was fine but not worth the price. Plates were well presented, but the flavors were average. For the location and cost, I expected much better quality and attention to detail.

The view is amazing, the food and the service is average. Please reserve a table at least week before. In november it is a bit chilly outside, so we asked for a pillow for the seat, because they don't have it. The portion is a bit small for the price.

Amazing views of the Acropolis from this rooftop bar. The cocktails were great. They retracted the roof during sunset so everyone could have a great view
Kris — Google review
The views are amazing! But the food was not good. I ordered a burger and the inside was raw, they didn’t ask me how I would like the meat but it was not edible. My friends food arrived cold. The margerita was really good though! I would recommend going for the view and getting only a drink!

Warehouse is a trendy cafe with a rustic-chic vibe that has become a popular spot for wine enthusiasts and casual diners alike. Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Exarcheia, it offers an industrial-chic atmosphere with minimalist decor. The carefully curated wine list features Greek and non-Greek wines, making it a go-to destination for wine aficionados.
Very cozy place. Landed over there on a Sunday morning and just wanted to try out some wines on the glass . Personel was eager to explain, help us and allow us to try some before we select our preference. Along with the wine we ordered a plate to accompany our wines that very delicious. Overall a very cozy, nice wine bar with many options of greek and international vineyard. Difenately recommended.

Warehouse Wine Bar is a fantastic spot for wine lovers and those looking for a great night out. The service was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable staff who made great recommendations. Their wine list is impressive, with a solid selection across different styles, and the prices are very fair, making it accessible for a wide range of budgets. We tried a Riesling, which was beautifully balanced and paired well with the food. Speaking of food, everything we ordered was well-prepared and flavorful. The overall vibe is relaxed yet stylish, making it a perfect place to unwind. Highly recommend checking it out!

An all-day cafe with some super tasty comfort food. Comes with indoor and heated outdoor space, serves great food and wine to match, has reasonable prices, and is good for any time of the day. Once introduced to it, this place is my go-to for a pit stop while in the city center. As this place offers great value for money food/drinks/service it tends to be packed most hours of the day, so if you want to get your spot secured do make a reservation.

Probably the coolest, most laid-back, tapas/wine-bar you can find. Great atmosphere, cozy, great service and beautiful, well build winelist. All dishes tasted amazing
Kid D — Google review
I was impressed by the wine list, and the food was good. Unfortunately, the service was very poor, which was disappointing given that we spent over €100. When I ordered a second glass of wine, the waitress insisted it was the same as my first, even though it clearly wasn’t (this was eventually corrected). When I asked for an extra plate so my children could share their large burger, I was given a coffee saucer. After requesting something more suitable, I was told they had nothing bigger and only after pressing did they reluctantly bring one from the kitchen. When it came time to pay, I checked the bill and the staff became impatient, even instructing me rather curtly on how to use my card. Overall, the service was unwelcoming and unprofessional, and I’m not sure what the attitude problem was.

Buena Vista Social Bar is a perfect place to relax and enjoy some good food with friends. The terrace offers great views of the Acropolis and the bar has a relaxed atmosphere that makes it a great spot for drinks. The latin food here is great and the fries are especially delicious.
I was treated badly and rudely in several places in Athens. It almost seems like the tourist is doing the Greeks a favor. One of the exceptions was this Latin bar with a fantastic view of several monuments. The service was friendly and respectful. I loved the place and recommend it. I'll leave a photo of the entrance to make it easier for people to find the place.

Stopped in for a cocktail after touring the Ancient Agora. Service was fast, great English, and the drinks were good. The tacos were a great snack as we worked our way back to the hotel. Fun decor inside and of course a great view of the Acropolis.
Bill D — Google review
The Buena Vista Social Bar does almost everything right. The atmosphere is fantastic — warm, stylish, with just the right touch of Cuban charm. The cocktails are very good, carefully prepared, and the kind of thing you want to linger over as the night rolls on. Hospitality is equally strong: you’re welcomed with a complimentary bottle of water and a bowl of nuts, a small but meaningful gesture that tells you they know how to set the tone. So why not five stars? Consistency. We’ve been there four times, and the difference between weekday and weekend service is night and day. During the week, with the experienced staff on duty, the service is excellent — smooth, professional, friendly. On weekends, however, the apprentices take over: young waiters, moving slowly, clearly regarding their job as more burden than calling. Drinks arrive late, smiles are forced, and the rhythm of the place stumbles. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but it does hold it back. Buena Vista has everything it needs to be flawless, but for now it remains a tale of two bars: one during the week, polished and professional, the other on weekends, struggling to keep up. Still, recommended — just plan your visit when the grown-ups are working.

A place where magic happens. Absolutely one of the best bars I have ever been. Beautiful sight to the mystic Akropolis friendly staff. I will bring some magic light to them if they want. I was flashed.

We enjoyed our drinks. I requested a Mezcal cocktail and the bartender produced one off-menu. We arrived shortly before sunset and it was not too busy, but by the time we left it was packed. Good to arrive early to get great views of the Temple of Hephaestus.

Beautiful Cuban bar with extensive menu and knowledgeable staff. Requested an amaretto sour and espresso martini (both off-menu) and they served them to a high standard, as well as other drinks from the menu. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and brought over custom shots and excellent conversation. Would absolutely come back and recommend to others

Rooftop bar with amazing views in Athens and great ambience. Cocktails are good but a bit on the expensive side considering average prices in Greece. Despite the crowd, the servers are very kind and welcoming. Overall though it’s absolutely worth a visit.
Marco R — Google review
I’ve been in Greece for the past two weeks, and just about everywhere we’ve gone — from small family-run tavernas to trendy cocktail bars — the service has been close to perfect. Unfortunately, Buena Vista Social Club was the exception, and honestly one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had anywhere. We arrived at 9:10pm last night and sat right away, but then didn’t see a server for over 25 minutes. I had to flag someone down just to order. Our drinks finally arrived about 25 minutes after that — not exactly what you expect from a place with these prices. The food didn’t make up for it either: the flautas were bland and flavorless, nothing memorable at all. We tried to get a server’s attention for a second round of drinks, but after being ignored again, we gave up. When we finally did get someone to come over, we just asked for the check. To top it off, the server seemed upset that we didn’t leave a tip — as if the poor service was our fault. For contrast, we went to A for Athens rooftop bar right next door the night before and had absolutely stellar service. That only highlighted how bad this place was. Overall, Buena Vista Social Club was a huge disappointment and I would not recommend it.

Great food, amazing view at night of acropolis. Servers were also great. Restaurant also gave us some free drink at the end. Bit of a more expensive night out but you’re paying for the atmosphere, and the view as well. I ordered the sea bream, which was delicious and crunchy. Also salad. Would recommend if you’re up for a more upscale evening. Would also say.1. Worth to book a reso as it seemed like hell for the people in line waiting in the hot staircase to get a table. 2. A bit annoying people keep coming near your table to take a picture by the railing for the view (I get it why). we were sat right near the railing, which was great but had a lot of foot traffic.
Jason C — Google review
Wonderful service and atmosphere. Unfortunately their foods doesn’t deliver the same. I know I’m from the United States, but these things had the consistency of mashed potatoes. Manager said thats the way they were supposed to be. 😂 . Catch of the day was sea bass. Zero flavor. However they do have a good pastry chef. 300 Euro dinner and left hungry. Best thing going for this place is the location and the view.
Kevin L — Google review
Great view of the acropolis on the right side of the seating area. Food and service were good and the music was nice. A bit more upscale than other rooftops and comes with a premium as well that is well worth it with the unobstructed view. There is a line as you enter so maybe it’s best to book in advance.
Fred B — Google review
Booked in advance, €50 deposit required that will be deducted from the final bill. The food and service were excellent. I appreciated the cocktails were insured by graffiti and they were delicious. The bathroom situation is very small, but I guess that is almost universal in Athens. Amazing value for money and breathtaking view! 🤩

Great music, vibe and drinks, plus an amazing view of the Acropolis! Tourist reviewing! 📍The Venue: It’s a pretty big space with an industrial feel and a rooftop garden. The view of the Acropolis is amazing, so try to reserve a table with this view. The Drinks: We ordered one drink from their signature cocktail menu (which by the way, is a really original and visual book that describes every drink) and one from the classic drinks. - Eternal Luv: A very nice drink! It had a unique flavor combination I've never tried before. Not bitter and very refreshing, just how I like it. - Vermouth: Really good and refreshing! 💁🏻‍♀️The Service: The staff were nice and our drinks came out quickly. 🅿️ Parking: They don't have a dedicated parking lot. 💭Final Thoughts: It’s on the expensive side, but it’s a great place to enjoy some cool drinks at night.

Great spot to watch the sunset and see the Acropolis. Lovely ambience and awesome cocktails. We are the crispy eggplant and kebab which both were delicious! Book or go early or you need to queue up !!

We came here just for drinks, so I can’t speak about the food, but I can say the cocktails were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful—relaxed yet vibrant—and it made the experience so enjoyable. I really loved the vibe of this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy a drink.
Tani R — Google review
We were initially drawn to the bar for its supposedly amazing views of the Acropolis, however we struggled to make reservations as our calls were not taken, we decided to show up without and did have to wait around in the very tightly made spiral staircase. Only to be seated directly to a speaker playing some of the most intense house music at an alarmingly loud volume. The views were nice only if you were sat on the edge of the bar’s terrace (assuming you dont mind everyone at the bar approaching you all night to take photos from that side). Drinks were overpriced and not to my liking personally, i stuck to the wine list — but the atmosphere i imagine could be tolerable and even enjoyable in the summer (especially if you are tipsy)

Absolutely loved this place. It’s a creative hub with small rooms occupied by local designers — I bought a few lovely items. The central courtyard is perfect for enjoying a beer or cocktail. Drinks were generously portioned and came with complimentary peanuts. Great atmosphere.

I remember this place being so cool and awesome that I had to show it to my fiancé and mother-in-law. I was sorely disappointed with the service and the bartender who seemed like they had no interest in being there and legitimately almost felt as though I was bothering them. The cocktail was fine. The prices were high. Didn’t bother staying much longer than that.

The main barstaff seemed miserable to be there on a Saturday night and was talking on a phone call on her AirPods ignoring me at the bar. One girl was nice and came by looking surprised I hadn’t been served. Cocktail was not great and very sugary. The courtyard space is cool so this could be buzzing if the service experience improved. It was fine but has potential to be great. It was quiet on a Saturday night which maybe suggests something.

We came in to grab a beer to cool off after spending the morning site seeing. We were the only people in the space. Our bartender was so kind, and gave us a shot of Greek liqueur to try. The industrial-themed decor includes a courtyard adorned with greenery during the summer. Visitors praise the unique drinks such as bubble shots and saganaki that tastes like boozy flan.
We enjoyed two fabulous evenings here. The first visit an early evening and when we sat at the bar the guys were attentive and made us the two best espresso martinis. We enjoyed a few more of their creative cocktails and enjoyed the atmosphere that we came back the next night. We came in and instantly felt like family. I ordered a "premium" cocktail - a flambeed old fashioned which I was informed upon serving isn't flambeed any more (??). These are things one is supposed to inform customers of before taking the order. The "new menu" is supposed to come out in a few days is also what I was told. The old fashioned was served with three small ice cubes instead of a block of ice, understandably for cost reasons. This is for a €15 cocktail btw. Bad service, below average drink.
Pranav M — Google review
Stratis and Stefanos were great. We opted for the menu that had two cocktails, two bubbles, and two tubes for 40€ and a mocktail for my MIL - there was no such thing on the menu but they whipped up a great drink for her and our menu was DELICIOUS. We got our bubbles mixed up and I had my fiancé’s and he had mine so they actually made us two more on the house! Very happy. On the feedback side: for a pretty empty bar, the toilets were quite messy and dirty. Also, I did see a review here that said they were told they are changing their menu which was 3 months ago and we were told the same thing yesterday. This means that more than half the menu wasn’t valid and they have used this excuse for a while. This was especially disappointing when we went in for the “sushi” molecular cocktail and they didn’t have it. I have known MoMix for years and honestly believe they do great things; just need to wrap up the new menu and keep the toilets clean. Their team is great and the concept is really fun.
Nicole K — Google review
This was a great experience! We did the large cocktail experience. It was super fun and everything tasted amazing. The sorbet experience was the best! The staff were really friendly and explained each drink/ experience when it came. The saganaki was also tasty, it was like a dessert!
Claire G — Google review
We went in the evening for a drink or two and it was amazing! The "Bubbles" and the Japanese Harmony cocktail were both really good. The atmosphere was design artsy like and it was good. Even though it was tasty, we expected more molecular-like visual cocktails, with smoke or with popping sugar in the mouth for example. Textures were good, but not outstanding! We were expecting something more out of the box. But overall, cocktails were creative for the taste, not visuals. It was still a really nice experience!
Alice S — Google review
One of the most amazing hand-crafted old-fashion I have ever had! And the crispy potato appetizer is addictive. Friendly service in a gorgeous bar. Gotta visit if you’re in Athens.
Dianna P — Google review
Large bar in the center of Gazi, we had no problems finding a nice table, the place seems quite new, music not too loud, attentive and friendly people. The drinks are very unusual and it’s a bit tricky to order as there are hundreds of options. The have got bundles and give recommendations so that you can try different molecular drinks. The negroni and gin with yuzu was quite good and prices actually fair. For me it’s a bit too much choice and stuff, but it’s definitively a fun experience and you will get some spectacular fotos.

Batman Bar, located in the Neos Kosmos area of Athens, has been a popular spot since it opened its doors in 1989. The bar is known for its impromptu live performances and a cult following among artists and musicians. It's an after-hours destination that comes to life after 3am, offering traditional Greek music in a small, dark basement setting. The charismatic owner, Giorgos Nasios, serves as both the resident barman and DJ.
What can I say about this place? Originality and pure old school Greek music emerging from a previous century. However it may something difficult to visit the restrooms from time to time. The new guy in front is doing his best to keep the pub running smooth. Tip: either enter around 2300 and stick to a stop or after 1630 or grab a drink a drink it outside, you can still hear the music and chat with all the nice chaps queuing there.

42 Barstronomy Athens is an upscale and slightly quirky all-day bar and bistro located near Syntagma Metro station. The exterior is adorned with flowers and foliage, while the interior boasts a blend of mid-century modern decor and neoclassical design. Downstairs, guests can enjoy the swanky Angus Hudson Butlers Lounge offering butler service, top-shelf spirits, and a la minute charcuterie.
The food and drinks are fantastic! The service is also good. The wine selection is also very good. The ambiance and music are some of the best in all of Athens! We went on our first day in town. After spending an entire day wandering around and dining at mediocre restaurants, we returned to 42 for a magical dinner!

If you're a coffee lover visiting Athens, you need to make your way to this hidden gem. Tucked away and easy to miss, this hole-in-the-wall coffee shop offers hands down the best coffee in the city—and possibly the best I've ever had. I've come here each time I've visited Athens over the years, and the quality has always been consistently excellent. The owner is incredibly kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about his craft. You can feel the care he puts into every cup, and it makes each sip a delight. If you're looking for a place that serves more than just a caffeine fix, this is it. Highly recommend!

The coffee here is really superb. One of the best cortados I have had in my life. The owner is also very nice, you can ask all sorts of questions about coffee :). Thanks!

Friendly and adorable couple operating out of a pickup window. Great coffee and service. Espresso and pour over were both excellent

OMG This coffee is amazing! I was lucky enough to be walking down this side of the street and almost passed it. The beautiful aroma beckoned, irresistible, and I found myself instantly turning back. Seriously the best coffee I think I’ve ever had.
Demian V — Google review
a very small but intimate coffee stop. it’s eveident that the owner is a passionate craftsman in his coffee brewing skills. Highly recommended for coffee enthusiasts!

Rumble in the Jungle is a hidden gem in Athens, offering a speakeasy atmosphere reminiscent of Brooklyn's cool bars. The bar features an exotic cocktail selection and is housed within the EKEI building, where different music can be enjoyed on each floor. With its carefully crafted and unique cocktails, this spot is perfect for enthusiasts who appreciate craft cocktails. The ambiance exudes a classy yet unpretentious vibe, complemented by talented DJs providing great music to accompany your drinks.
Hands down my favorite cocktail bar in all of Athens (and I’ve visited plenty). The drinks here are creative, tasty and beautifully presented. Service is very attentive and accommodating. They deserve to be on the list of the “The World’s 50 Best Bars in the World”. A must visit when you’re in Athens.
Billy R — Google review
Absolutely loved this cocktail bar not only for it's ambience but also for the fact that it is "hidden" behind another bar. The cocktail options are innovative and a story accompanies each cocktail. Loved it!
Katherina F — Google review
This hidden gem, tucked behind the Bar in Front of the Bar, is a fantastic cocktail bar. The cocktails are thoughtfully crafted and unique, each one tasting amazing. It’s definitely a place for craft cocktail enthusiasts. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it ranked among the world’s top 50 cocktail bars soon!
Shikhar S — Google review
Nice decor, a beautiful marble (lit!) bar, great grooves, friendly staff and original cocktails. What more can you ask for?
Katia L — Google review
Speakeasy type of bar. Love the atmosphere. Cocktails are original. Service is friendly.
Cameron C — Google review
Insanely creative cocktails. Read that again. They SUCCESSFULLY experiment with some absolutely wild ingredients. They take risks, and they do it well. If you LOVE finding unique cocktails, go here. Stop reading at and go here. Makensure you go past the "bar in the front", that's a different cocktail menu. This is the bar behind that one.
Joe H — Google review
Speakeasy bar, inside the “Bar in front of the bar”. Making it the bar behind the bar in front of the bar ;-) Themed around Ali vs Forman fight in 1990s Pretty unique vibe and good cocktails. Would recommend to visit! Only downside: a bit empty during the week
Anton S — Google review
One of the best cocktails in Athens! + if you like 90s gangsta rap, they have a dj who plays it for you!
