Fantastic hotel. Super clean, great location, and amazing view. We booked a one-bedroom apartment directly from their website — everything was very well equipped and thoughtfully arranged, which is not always easy to find in Vietnam. They are truly pet-friendly: they even welcomed our dog Iris with snacks and a beautiful handwritten note. Very reasonable prices for the service and quality. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

The hotel has a modern and beautiful design. My room had a spacious balcony with a nice beach view. I was especially impressed with the well-equipped gym, which helped me maintain my daily workout routine. The buffet breakfast was diverse, with delicious food and quick service. The receptionist and front desk staff were very enthusiastic, always smiling and ready to assist. The hotel also offers bicycles, which are convenient for exploring the surrounding area. A wonderful experience — I will definitely come back!
What a mixed bag… Overall good. In short, no service around the pool, also, no atmosphere, they have outdoor speakers but not working or turned on. Soul Bowl the first evening, no music, just the sound of people eating and talking, atmosphere could be better, they also handed us our takeaway in a biodegradable container, in a plastic bag…why have a biodegradable container…

This services was amazing. We go 2 apartments which were right next to each other. The apartments itself were amazing and clean. Very clean to the point that I think no one had stayed in it yet. The bathroom was massive and they even had a washer/dryer to wash and dry our clothes. The staff was really friendly, helpful and attentive. It was my wife birthday during our stay and we had asked them to arrange cake and flowers to be placed in our apartment when we got back. My wife loved the little suprised so thanks to the staff for helping with that. The breakfast was amazing aswel. So much to choose, ranging from western style breakfast to Vietnamese. Everyday they have a different soup noodle dish, from pho to bun ca which was tasty. They have 2 swimming pools which are free to use. One was outdoors (unheated) and the other was indoors (heated). Both were pretty empty each time we used it which meant we had the pools all to ourselves the majority of the time. The location is situated in an area currently being developed which meant it was pretty much a ghost town which isn’t a negative. They even offer free bicycles to ride anywhere you please which was a nice touch. Overall this was an amazing place to stay and I would consider staying here again if I visit Ha Long again.
I had an amazing experience staying at Citadines Hạ Long. The room was clean and modern with a stylish design and a beautiful balcony overlooking the bay. Enjoying morning coffee on the balcony was such a peaceful moment!
The hotel offers great facilities including a gym, bar, and a lovely indoor pool – perfect for relaxing even on rainy days. The buffet breakfast was rich and varied, with both Asian and Western options. I was also pleasantly surprised by the free bicycle service, which allowed us to explore the area easily.
The staff were professional and very friendly. The receptionist and front desk team were always helpful and welcoming, always smiling and ready to assist.

Excellent hotel! The staff are super friendly and always ready to help, they really make you feel welcome. The restaurants are tasty too – a nice mix of international food with a Vietnamese twist. The area around the hotel is still being built, but it’s actually pretty quiet, so it didn’t bother me at all.
Avalon, Rachel, and Sam provided exceptional service that truly reflects what Ascott stands for. Their professionalism and attention to guest needs made a big difference during my stay.
The apartments are well-equipped, with clean cooking utensils and all the essentials. Housekeeping is top-notch, keeping the rooms spotless as expected. The building is new, so the rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning works well, and while the hot water isn’t boiling, it’s sufficient. Water pressure is excellent.
The only downside is the location—it’s a bit far from both the beach and the main town. Also, due to the high volume of guests, some shared facilities can feel cramped and crowded. However, the six elevators ensure smooth access throughout the building.
Some of my initial requests were overlooked, but Avalon was quick to address and resolve them during the check-in process. Rachel also followed up to ensure all issues were handled, which I truly appreciated.
Considering the service, cleanliness, and comfort, this is a property I would recommend when staying in Ha Long Bay.
Our stay at Citadines Marina Ha Long was truly wonderful. We were given a room with a beautiful view, and the staff were exceptionally warm and helpful. Special thanks to Rachel and Mr. Kenny for their kindness. The rooms were spotless, and we loved the complimentary bicycles to explore the city. Such thoughtful touches made our stay memorable, and we will cherish the experience for a long time.

This hotel is not only dangerous it is impossible to sleep in. Restaurant down stairs has my room on the third floor smelling like fish sauce(not that I don't like it on my food just not my nose 24/7) then there is the constant clatter of pots and pans being thrown around, blasting music and cooks screaming starting at 5am. Balcony garden to look at mountains on roof looks like it hasn't been fixed in 30+ years. Nails sticking up, missing boards, rotten boards. I stepped through the floor (sober) last night and seriously injured my ankle and knee. Never stay here unless you want to piss away you're money or get no sleep an a tetinis injection. Many better hotel choices very close by. God speed my fellow travelers.
Very helpful staff! Lady at the front desk helped us with dinner/drinks recommendations. She also helped us book a Halong Bay cruise including transfer. Breakfast was nice as well :) the area is not filled with tourists which can be a plus depending on where you've been before. Lots of local food by the water and loads of coffee bars as well.
Price is very reasonable. The rooms and decor are a little outdated but still very nice. The beds are a little hard. King bed is actually 2 twins put together. Water for shower was great. Nice small balcony. A/C and heat worked great. There's an extra fan in the room if needed. Plants are everywhere which gives a nice vibe. Koi fish in front of hotel and also in the smoking room are also nice. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food in restaurant is good and affordable. They also have a nice wine bar and liquor selection and nice music to set the mood. Location is not far from the waterfront. There are plenty of cafes and other restaurants nearby. You need ask for an extra room key if you want one.
Very nice little hotel. We got a free room upgrade so we were especially happy. The location is good, and you can rent a scooter directly from the hotel to drive around. It is clean and has everything you would need. I recoomend it to everyone

We had a decent stay at the Draha Hotel in Halong Bay.
While the rooms were clean, we found them to be quite noisy, which made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. However, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, which made our stay more enjoyable. They went out of their way to assist us with any needs we had during our stay.
Overall, we would recommend the Draha Hotel for its helpful staff and cleanliness, but suggest bringing earplugs to ensure a peaceful night's sleep.
The rooms are quite nice, the only complaint I had was there was a floorboard on my patio that would’ve been easily tripped over for an injury. They really should consider fixing it so they don’t have any issues in the future. the staff was very helpful and the rooms are clean and modern

Halong Transportation offers various options for getting to Halong Bay. The most common way is through shuttle services or private cars, which can be time-consuming but convenient. Another option is air transfer, including professional flights, seaplane services, or helicopter rides that provide stunning aerial views of the bay. Traveling by water is also possible for those on trans-pacific cruises making stops in major spots.
I booked a private SUV for my wife & I to transfer us from Hanoi train station to Ha Long Bay for a cruise & with a return to Noi Bai airport in Hanoi two days later. Both cars were modern & clean and the drivers arrived in time. Approx drive time was 2 hours each way & worth every penny of the USD 150 compared to the shared transport options available!

Our driver Pham was fantastic. He was there early and waiting for us when we disembarked the cruise. He was very friendly and professional with excellent and safe driving skills. We had a smooth transfer to the airport, the car was comfortable and clean and he even provided us with water and played nice soothing music during the journey. He helped us with our luggage at both ends. It was a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend.
I booked one way private transfer from Sapa - Hanoi. Communication was excellent for beginning to the end. I will definitely book Halong transportation in the future. Our driver was awesome.

We found Halong via the power of google and at short notice arranged a luxury limousine transfer from Halong to Ninh Binh. The vehicle was exceptional, the driver very good and courteous and the drive very pleasant. The cost was the same as our hotel had quoted - but the hotel quote was for a small car. Perhaps most importantly they were very responsive over WhatsApp (seemingly no matter what time it was) and clear throughout the booking. Excellent service and I would happily use again.

Incredible Stay at Hùng Vương in Halong Bay
My experience at Hùng Vương was exceptional. The cleanliness was impeccable and everything was in perfect condition, making me feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment I arrived.
The location is unbeatable: just minutes from Halong Bay and very close to traditional Vietnamese markets. There are many food options nearby, from street food stalls to local restaurants, as well as cafés and bars within walking distance.
The room was comfortable and well-equipped, with a fridge stocked with drinks and food you can prepare on the spot if you're hungry. The air conditioning was perfect on hot days.
For those of us who work online, it's ideal. It has a good desk, a comfortable chair, and excellent internet speed.
The owners are attentive, and the cozy atmosphere makes a difference. Despite being in a central area, the hotel is surprisingly quiet at night.
I recommend Hùng Vương to anyone visiting Halong Bay!

Personal was very welcoming and helpful. The room was exceeded expectations. This hotel is situated very quietly street. There are lot of store with clothes and food (restaurant, local street food). Rooms was very beautiful with toilet and shower. We had two cups for tea or coffee in there room on table and when we want warm water we got it. Hotel has elevator. We wanted taxi from hotel for harbor and boss order for us. We enjoyed this hotel and place. There is near everything you need: way for top of mountain, way for beach, cafeteries, street/local food, restaurant, shops. I wanted to got 2 rooms with 2 beds and I got it. A La Carte Ha Long Bay Hotel is a newly opened top-shelf hotel offering beautiful rooms with high-class amenities and breathtaking sea views. The hotel features an impressive 40th-floor swimming pool, perfect for relaxation. Despite being under construction, the hotel provides a comfortable stay with easy beach access. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms with kitchen facilities and balcony, although some amenities are still being set up.
This place is incredible, I have no idea how people can rate it below 5*.
Everything about it was luxurious. Even the reception area has been scented with a gorgeous smell- they think of everything here to ensure guests have a good experience. The pools were divine, great food (would love more vegan options for breakfast though. At least some nut milk) and staff were wonderful

Best to avoid this place. Booked 2 rooms at this hotel but was allocated apartment rooms instead of hotel rooms and without any explanation. Was told it’s the same. The check in process was very confusing with 2 agents trying to meet me at the entrance. A few days before, multiple agents keep calling me till late into the night to confirm my arrival time and room requirements. On arrival, the place was full of local families and kids running around. There were visible arguments at the lobby about room assignments from other guests. Seems different rooms are owned by different owners and are decorated differently, hence multiple agents to coordinate 2 rooms booking. Both rooms were not cleaned properly at check in. Bed covers were not changed with visible stains and hairs. Floors were dusty and one of the room toilet sink was faulty and could not drain. Stains could be seen on the sofa couch. The room I was allocated had left over rotting seafood in the fridge from the previous guest and the smell made the whole room smell bad. The fridge had stains and was not cleaned. Payments had to be in cash with a demand for deposits late night. Despite us paying the full requested amount, the agent called the following day to demand again for the deposit payments. Check out was equally confusing. Made my whole stay and break in Ha Long stressful. Not worth the money paid to stay at such an awful place. Avoid this place.
I never saw so many shouting kids in the same place. Impossible to relax in the pool, at the breakfast and even in your own room as they shout in corridors. Got waked up at 23:30 and at 6:30 in the morning. Note: parents use the pool showers to make their kid pee and it smells. Also hotel is non smoking but you can smell tabacco in corridors. It’s a shame because rooms are beautiful. Maybe put a time limit for the kids in one of the pools?

Honestly the best hotel we have stayed at so far on our trip in Vietnam, the hotel far exceeded our expectations and so did all of the staff. Food was great, service was wonderful and the cocktails were the best we’ve ever had.

The place is ok. However swimming pool is not heated. You can just take a drink and watch sunsets, no need to have a ticket to pool which is cold. Don’t take taxi from this place across the street- they are big scammers. Just avoid at any possibility. They will charge you 20x times more

Negative : 2 bottoms of water in refrigerant was chargeable minibar but didn’t have any instruction in room or anywhere, then I need to pay 40,000 VND when check out as same as all other room of my friend.
There were EDM music festival on the beach, noisy music until 1AM. Hard to sleep.
halong Pearl is a great value for money. Rooms are nice and comfy, I stayed a couple of nights and I was really happy with the service, the view and the quietness of the premise. The only down note would be the fact that it took a good 5 minutes to get hot water in the morning! But I will come back again for sure!
We are staying here with the package and everything is perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had the 7 course dinner which was of a very high standard and the cruise was excellent and a day we will remember with a lot of happiness I totally recommend this hotel and rate it 5 stars
The hotel has a central location near the sea and Sunworld's amusement parks, clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly, enthusiastic staff, there is a certain chance I will bring friends to experience the service here again.

Moonlight Hotel Hạ Long is located in a convenient area, just a short drive from cultural venues and the airport. Tu and Long were awesome hosts super nice and chilled blokes. Extremely helpful with booking tours and taxis. The location is good you’re just a short scooter ride away from everything in Ha long. There’s no breakfast or a restaurant but there’s a kitchen on the ground floor so you can fix yourself something on the cheap. It’s got real home stay vibes but with hotel amenities. Long even refused bank transfer when we were short on cash for waters we drank in the room. This is a perfect spot for a backpacker that’s not too fussy that’s keen for a break from the hostels for only a couple more bucks a night. Would definitely recommend and will happily come back for another stay.

Overall Moonlight Hotel is a prime destination for travellers wanting to be in an ideal place for exploring the city of Ha Long. It is located between the old quarters and the French quarters and is walking distance from many shops, restaurants, and cafes. It is also only a short 5 minute walk from the iconic train street which was a highlight of my time in this city.
What a beautifully odd place to stay. A short 15-minute walk from the beach, or the restaurants. But the location itself is deserted. The room was clean and stocked with snacks. There's a TV with Netflix. Fast internet. There's a really great coffee shop a few minutes away. The hotel is in the middle of a huge development of seemingly abandoned hotels. I did not mind. It made for lovely strolls on the lantern lit roads.

Just spent the night at Moonlight and we have to write a review right immediately because of the best experience here. As soon as we walked into the hotel really late at night, the owner greeted us with such a warm welcome. He also recommended us with some restaurants and Ha Long boat packages; he even helped us to book a limousine to go to Noi Bai airport the next day.
The room was super nice, clean and everything looked brand-new. They provided all the toiletries in a luxurious condition.
We highly recommend Moonlight Hotel to tourists that are looking for a place to settle and relax for your trip to Ha Long/Sun World.

La Casa is such a nice place in Halong bay! I was supposed to stay there 3 days and ended up staying for 2 weeks, the room was so comfortable, huge window so a lot of light, strong AC, good beds, flat screen tv with android box, friendly team, really everything you need to have a nice stay. There are a lot of restaurants and shops around, and it's within walking distance to the beach (about 15mn). Bai Chay beach is really beautiful, white sands with palm trees surrounded by the famous halong bay karst formations, and in November when I was there it was pretty deserted but the weather was really nice, not too hot, sunny, just perfect.
This homestay is always full booked whenever i check on their availability and they are always one of the highest reviewed hometay on Agoda. i decided to try and now i understand why. First things first rooms are always well cleaned and the room smells good. Not the newly built cleaned type but the well maintained clean type. Comfortable enough for travel. Location is 💯💯💯 just 5 mins walk and you're already at Sunworld Halong. Few more walks and you're already at the cruise port. Everything is near on this homestay. The only downside is for the people with large luggages. This homestay is all stairs. So its not ideal for people with alot of luggages/things. Basic amenities are always available (shower gel,shampoo,towel,toothbrush,toothpaste,hair dryer) can't count enough how many times I stay here😅

They really looked after me; i was sick and coughing a lot during the night and the next day they showed concern and gave me their traditional family medicine which actually helped me. Sir escorted me to the pharmacy and also arranged a ride for me to go to my ferry. Highly recommended, they were very caring and the sweetest, and the price is good also for the room and location. thank you so much!
This place has been the comfiest stay we’ve had in 3 weeks. To start, the lady that checked us in is so sweet. We feel like she truly cares for her motel and for her guests. The room is spacious, super clean, quiet. AC is amazing. We liked that we were close to the ferry, this area feels a little empty but you only have to go 15min across to bridge to go to the city.

We stayed in March and took a trip to Ha Long Bay, every aspect was organised by our lovely hosts. They could not have been more hospitable or helpful.
Prior to our arrival they assisted in the booking of our excursion, and even offered to drop us off at the port which wasn’t a short drive!
They also gave us recommendations for places to eat.
In our stay we also rode a tandem bike down the bay which was such a lovely unique touch.
In our stay our hosts were also opening a bakery which we were invited to, we felt welcomed and included. We also had a croissant on arrival that was made by our host which was delicious!

We stayed with Nido and his family and had an amazing experience. They couldn't do enough for us to arrange transport and moped hire. The rooms are very spacious and have smart Tvs, we had a lovely view from the balcony of the sunset. They let us use the kitchen to cook and bake and made us feel so welcome. There are some lovely places to eat nearby and beautiful scenery, Highly recommended staying here.

The hotel is in a quiet area close to many great coffee shops and restaurants.
The room was clean and the AC worked well.

The view is good however our room was quite hot even when AC was powerful mode. Though I booked the room with balcony but we barely went to balcony to enjoy view with 3 condensing units there. The room isn't well-equipped. You can't walk to the beach from the hotel.
