Guest house
Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang, Nocknoy Lanexang Guesthouse offers a cozy retreat for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. This charming guesthouse features relaxed rooms, some with delightful balconies, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Pet lovers will appreciate its pet-friendly policy, making it an ideal choice for those traveling with furry companions.
We had a great stay. Rooms were clean, in a quiet area. Everything was working well. The staff didnt have great english but were still very helpful and accomodating
Eilon Y — Google review
The 4.1 rate is right however I think this is amazing for this price. All they would need to do is to do a deep cleaning in the bathroom, but you get it in Asia everywhere at this price range that they don't clean the place properly and don't spend on maintenance. The location is amazing, the breakfast is great you can book transport, one lady speaks English so you can communicate, I would not choose any other accomodation, but I can not give a 5 star because I started my stay with cleaning the bathroom 😃
Eszter S — Google review
Great location... good breakfast and lovely owners... more hot water would be nice, but truthfully not unusual for Laos... soundproofing certainly nonexistent, but hey that is also par for the course in Laos
Chefstud — Google review
There are much better places in Luang Prabang for the same price. We paid 380 incl breakfast, left after 1 might and found somewhere much nicer for 400 incl breakfast. The room is really really tiny, there's barely room to open a suitcase, and there are also very few outlets and they're high on the wall (it was impossible to charge my phone) I think it's okay to crash for a night but there are better places for the same money.
Alana — Google review
The lady staff is very helpful. The room where I stayed on the first floor was decent. However, there are many concerns I’d like to point out such the smoke of cigarette from some neighboring guests can enter the room. There’s a bad lighting inside the room where bulbs kept flickering. The bathroom is not clean at all! There were wrigglers swimming on the floor. The blower provided is also destroyed.
Jeryl G — Google review
Worst hotel in Laos, smelled damp and moldy. I ended up having to wear a mask to sleep. The sheets also smelled like they hadn't been washed and the pillows stank of sweat. Lots of mosquitoes. The staff was unwelcoming and not helpful at all.
ZERØNE — Google review
In Luang Prabang, this guesthouse truly stands out for its value. The rooms might be simple, but they come equipped with everything you need: a kettle, hair dryer, fan, and air conditioning. Plus, the free breakfast is a nice touch, freshly made to order each morning. The accommodations are basic yet comfortable, featuring a big bed, a working table, and a bathroom with a surprisingly hot shower. Daily cleaning is standard unless you request otherwise. Convenience is key here. Just across the alley, you’ll find a laundry shop with reasonable rates at 20,000 Kip per kg, and bicycle rentals are available nearby for 30,000 Kip a day. The night market is also just a short walk away. The guesthouse staff are helpful, even assisting with booking a slow boat trip to Thailand. Overall, my stay was quite satisfying.
CN W — Google review
The receptionist is really nice and attentive. The breakfast is very nice. The hotel is located in a neighborhood with small streets, very close to the Mekong and the night market, it's really nice.

Hotel
Located in Luang Prabang, Laos, Mekong Sunset View Hotel offers a convenient location just a 10-minute drive from the international airport and within close proximity to Wat Xieng Thong Buddhist temple. The hotel has received high praise for its excellent location near the Mekong River, providing easy access to riverside restaurants and the bustling market street while still maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
At the riverside. This is a heritage house converted into a hotel. All timber floors inside. Rooms are spacious. The best feature are the people running the place. They are very friendly and happy to help. You can ask them to rent a scooter and they'll bring it for you (100,000 kips as for 2/July/2022). The location is absolutely perfect and it is really good value for money.
Jimmy B — Google review
Lovely hotel, great location, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming and helpful. Our room was beautiful and had a balcony overlooking the Mekong, and we were easy walking distance from sites and restaurants. It's not as cheap as many if the backpacker guesthouses in the city, but not too expensive either. A good midrange, comfortable family run hotel. We would definitely go back.
Angela K — Google review
We stayed here for three nights. On arrival the staff were efficient and the check in was easy, they speak good English. The hotel is located next to the Mekong river and has great views from the balconies. The room was large had a comfortable bed. The room had a safe and complementary water each day. Breakfast was served outside, edible but basic. Staff can arrange transfers to and from the airport. All in all an ok stay
Susan E — Google review
Pleasant place that is made better by the staff. They really are pleasant and helpful. Good location near the Mekong River, close to everything but still very quiet. The beds are comfortable and no complaints. Good water pressure and the water can get hot fast so be careful. Breakfast is made to order. I was never able to get past the banana pancakes to try other foods. They are more like a Dutch Baby. I would use the fresh fruit bananas that come with breakfast to have even more banana on my pancake. Also the bananas are similar to the Apple Bananas you find in Hawaii. There is AC but did not need with the cool evenings in December.
Jerry M — Google review
Everything about this hotel has been perfect for us. The location is fantastic... snack central in the riverside restaurant strip, a block away from the more noisy and busy market street. Of course in this location it is not "peaceful and secluded", but that is not what you expect when you are staying downtown! The staff are fantastically friendly... We feel very welcome and looked after. The room is clean and nice, and the all important bathroom is too.
Martin G — Google review
Nice room but we were scammed by the staff for many euro's for minivan transportation and traintickets. The boss stays in Vietnam, so you can't talk to him. I am so disapointed in the hotel, won't stay here ever again.
Maaike W — Google review
Nice old building. Downstairs rooms have nice private balcony area good to relax and view the river. Nice staff can arrange tours/transport/moped etc. Fair price.
Seán G — Google review
Rooms were alright but they charged us two times more for a minivan to nong khiauw but we got in a local bus. The same issue with triantickets, we paid 400000 kip each person while the tickets were 172000 kip. Basicly scammed by this hotel. Other hotels around were more helpfull.

3Golden Lotus Namkhan View

Hotel
Golden Lotus Namkhan View is a pet-friendly hotel located about 1.09km from Luang Prabang City Center. The hotel offers a bit remote location with excellent amenities such as a private pool. While communication with the locals might be challenging due to limited English, the service is outstanding. Situated near natural attractions and within walking distance of restaurants and activities, this accommodation provides a beautiful and comfortable modern room with a terrace offering great views for enjoying breakfast or cocktails.
Staff goes above and beyond to ensure guest are welcomed and appreciated, lovely river view and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is a la carte, with many choices and served by your balcony, highly recommended!
Alicia D — Google review
We booked the Golden Lotus via Booking.com and have no regrets. Friendly staff and extremely helpful owner. Rooms and breakfast were good and the location is great. We changed our plans during our stay which the owner did not mind. When we came back for another night he was very grateful and also assisted with our early leave the next morning.
E. V — Google review
This review is for Chaluenxay Boutique Hotel and Golden Lotus Namkhan View. This hotel got us to cancel our original booking and attempted to move us to a downgraded room in another hotel. They did this AFTER receiving full payment, including transaction fees, and framed it as if they were doing us a favour due to supposed noise from other guests. When we requested a refund (as we had not cancelled the booking ourselves), they insisted on a "no-refund policy" and essentially pressured us to stay. After we repeatedly demanded a full refund, they reluctantly offered an “upgrade” — and unsurprisingly, there were no disruptive guests at all. This isn’t an isolated incident. This hotel has a pattern of overbooking and moving guests to lower-quality accommodations. This happened to other guests during our stay. Do yourself a favour and book any other hotel.
Prathima A — Google review
Got sent to this hotel instead of our original booking at Sadakham due to "building work". The Sadakham host was overly nice prior to payment and once full payment received we were told our room was 15 minutes away in this hotel. Initially we resisted but at 7pm at night we had no other choice. This hotel is old and dated. But the staff were friendly and helpful.
Rachel J — Google review
SCAMMERS RUN THIS HOTEL - avoid at all cost! This post is associated with another hotel in Luang Prabang - Sadakham Hotel, which is linked to the Golden Lotus. The rooms in the Golden Lotus also feels like a little jail cell, with NO WINDOWS. Short version of the story - we booked 3 nights at the Sadakham Hotel but they overbooked it and forced us to go to their other hotel - Golden Lotus Namkhan View, which is dated and of subpar quality. After a horrible night stay, we wanted to check out and they forced us to pay for 2 nights (because our original booking at Sadakham was for 3 nights). Long story - we showed up in the evening for check in at Sadakham. There was a big tourist group checking in (of at least 30 people). After they checked in, the young bloke at the reception said that the tourist group will make a lot of noice in the morning and that we were better off in their own hotel - the Golden Lotus Namkhan View. We asked to see the room at Sadakham first but he said it wasn’t available. That was our first warning and it was clear that there were no available rooms for us Sadakham, even though we had it booked months ago. We asked for photos of the Golden Lotus and he said it was a new hotel of 1.5 years old and it’s better quality than the Sadakham (we later found out that the hotel is over 7 years ago and of poor quality). Given it was late in the evening, we didn’t have a choice but to go to their alternative hotel. Upon arriving at the Golden Lotus, the rooms presented to us were dated and didn’t have any windows. It felt like a little jail cell. The shower doors were coming off the hinges, the toilets were leaking and the washing basin was cracked. We wanted to leave but it was too late in the evening to find a new hotel. The next day, we asked to move to Sadakham, given our booking is there. They told us it’s not possible as the rooms at Sadakham are all taken. But what’s weird is that you could still book Sadakham hotel for that evening on BOOKING.COM and AGODA. When we asked about this, they refused to give us a straight answer. It was at this point, we realized that this is a scam. They get people to book at their best hotel and when people show up, they would provide a excuse and ship off to one of their other lower quality hotels (the young receptionist told us that they had 6 hotels around town) At this point, we just wanted to leave. The owner said that we have to pay for 2 nights as our original booking was for 3 nights. We didn’t think this was fair as we never got to stay at our original booking or for 2 nights. The owner then threatened that he would call the police. It was escalating out of hand. We just needed to leave so agreed to pay for 2 nights. The owner also actioned on BOOKING.COM that we never showed up and insisted that we confirm with BOOKING.COM that we never stayed there. It appears that the owner is trying to get around any surcharges that he might incur from BOOKING.COM If you check on google reviews of Golden Lotus, we will see similar reviews to this one. It’s a sophisticated scam the owner is running and a few people have fallen trap to this. Do not become another victim, do not come here.

100% value for money, Amazing stay,Very clean, Staff are super helpful inspite of a language barrie. Major visit places are near by. Great view with sunrise.
Karan S — Google review
The good things: nice view and good location. The bad things: the worst value hotel I have stayed at in south east Asia. The rooms are old and tired and look very cheap. There are no windows. The breakfast is average and the staff would have to be reminded of what to bring each time. There were ants in the room. The hotel staff took the keys to park the bike inside the hotel area for security but then used those keys (without asking) to run an errand on the bike. Random strangers socks appeared in my room. The laundry was returned wet. They didn't have a card reader at the hotel, drove off to find one, then didn't know how to use it and then tried to negotiate with me a tiny discount if cancelled the Agoda review so checkout took forever. I don't know how this hotel can charge up to 70 USD a night. I think it dines out on its location... Strongly recommend not staying here.
B S — Google review
I booked from Agoda a room with balcony, but the reception gave me a room even without windows and he said other rooms are either be occupied or not twin room. The towels are dirty. The staffs were cold. The owner was very casual and not helpful. Seems not value his hotel and guest. You don't have to choose this one since there are far more better hotels than this one in Luang Phabang.

Thatsaphone Hotel is a comfortable and pet-friendly accommodation located in the heart of Luang Prabang. The hotel offers cozy rooms with modern amenities such as air conditioning and free Wi-Fi access. Guests can enjoy the convenience of a 24-hour front desk and a charming garden on the property. The central location allows for easy access to the night market, temples, and scenic river walks.
An excellent basic hotel that is centrally located. My room was spacious with a king-sized bed, air conditioning, and a large bathroom/shower. You are within easy walking distance to the night and morning markets. Breakfast is a cooked to order meal with several options. Staff has been very accommodating by arranging a taxi pickup for us at the airport. A bonus is the restaurant next door....excellent(that will be another review)!
Jeff B — Google review
Great staying at hotel. Good service and helpful people at hotel. Delicious breakfast. Central to the waterfalls and park. Recommend. 👌
Kapil D — Google review
It is adequate. My room had a window to nowhere. So could not see if it was daylight or dark or sunny or raining. I wish hotels would push people to best rooms when not full. Why not? Hotel had rooms available, but gave me a poor one. Smelled like sewage. Hotel had bikes to use, but never informed me of that. Breakfast was simple, but very good. Location is excellent.
Lena D — Google review
Ok room, although window opened onto the public breakfast area. Good breakfast, perfect location for exploring. But this stay was made special by the excellent welcome and care given by the reception staff. Everything was possible and trouble free. Thank you very much Din

I'm very pleased with the stay at Thatsaphone Villa. Wow, the room is stylish, ample with the living room, and bathtub in the restroom and it's really value for money. The staff here is quite friendly and helpful. I have the receptionist arrange for me the transfer to the airport and everything went smooth. Applause!!!
Linh K — Google review
We really don’t understand the good reviews we see here and in other platforms… We were asked to pay for the room upon check in (first red flag) and were given a room that literally smelled of sewage (I could smell it from reception as soon as they opened the door) and was full of mold. We lasted a couple of minutes inside and asked them to move us somewhere else. They gave us another room that didn’t have such bad smell, but it was poorly maintained and dirty (with the exception of the bedsheets). The room wasn’t dirty from previous guests, but had accumulated long term dirt (the photos speak for themselves). Besides, the room was on the ground floor so there was little privacy (we couldn’t open the curtains as it was facing the patio) and we could also hear everyone at reception. We were glad we only stayed 1 night, otherwise we would’ve cancelled the stay. In fact, we booked this place because our previous hotel in Luang Prabang was fully booked for that night so we had no choice. The other hotel was exactly the same price but was quite new, with spacious rooms, clean, and 10 minutes away. For the quality you get here this hotel should charge half the price. We have been traveling in Asia for months and we know what to expect, but if you value cleanliness and privacy, go somewhere else.
Arantxa G — Google review
Such a good place to stay. Good ambience. They have a refill water option that comes with both hot and cold. Free coffee, tea, welcome drink. The lady who manages the place is very kind. I was sick and she really treated me well. She makes good drinks. The laundry was very fast too. She does everything by herself. Make sure you know the price of breakfast before you order.
Radhika — Google review
Clean and quiet....just a few steps from the busy road. 8 guestrooms - we stayed in the triple room - not too common in Luang Prabang. Our room included breakfast, which was convenient, but not stellar. Bicycles available for guests, and a nice little courtyard to relax in at the end of the day. Reception staff is helpful, but not outgoing. I like to think of it as shy, rather than unfriendly. :)

Manichan Guesthouse is a charming accommodation option located in Ban Pakham Unit 4/143. The guesthouse offers cozy rooms, a garden, and a terrace for guests to enjoy. Additionally, there is a restaurant and coffee shop on-site. Travelers can take advantage of various amenities such as free parking, pet-friendly rooms, child care services, and cooking classes. The location of the guesthouse has received high praise from previous visitors for its convenience to nearby attractions.
Guesthouses, hotels look amazing here and Manichan is one of them with their cute look and excellent service. The room smells good. The location is perfect. Its situated in the neighborhood where has Mekong river, Morning Market, Night Market (also the street of Wat XiengThong, Wat May, Royal Palace and Phousi Hill) so it has everything within walking distance but still super quiet at night. I had a lot of requests and questions and the owner just helped me with everything (even making breakfast before the time for breakfast start). We had problem finding a rental bike too as there was a high demand for them and they helped me look for different rental places for a bike. Thank you so much Manichan, we had a wonderful stay.
Nickii P — Google review
The rooms are comfortable and the location really close to the morning market but still very quite is nice. The breakfast is quiet good and tea 24/7 is a nice extra. The bathroom could be better for the price you pay. Especially when you need to share as I did. I don’t know if you can have a private bathroom at this guest house.
Anna S — Google review
Our recent two-night stay here was simply delightful! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff( Joseph) a filpino can speak english were incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing us guide highlighting nearby restaurants and the bustling night market – which, thankfully, was within easy walking distance. The guesthouse itself was a tranquil oasis; the rooms were spotless and well-maintained, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was a delicious start to our day. The overall atmosphere was conducive to relaxation, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy our time away. The easy access to both the night market and day market and various restaurants made it incredibly convenient, and the friendly staff truly made our stay extra special.
Brilliam A — Google review
Twin rooms and double rooms are NOT the same, despite the insistence of the rude and dismissive owner of this guest house. Having booked two double rooms in March 2023, we were dismayed to arrive in late December and find that only 1 double room and 1 twin room was available. Rooms lack basic facilities and are much smaller than pictures online suggest. We left after one night to find suitable accommodation. The only positive comment is that the Laotian manager was helpful in facilitating our departure
Margaret A — Google review
Nice cosy room at the ground floor, good breakfast, lovely common patio (Café del Mundo), friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Early morning it can get noisy of traffic on its way to the market, passing by through the alley just behind the guesthouse. Of course this is depending on the room you’re staying in. Anyway, apart from that we had a great stay and would be happy to come back again.
René — Google review
I stayed here for several nights, and the owners were incredible! Not only were they helpful in booking activities, and giving great suggestions, but they went so far above and beyond. We enjoyed meals together, chatted quite a bit, and I had a lot of fun getting to know them. They're truly generous and caring people, and it was a blast to stay there. Finally, the room was super spacious and comfy, and the breakfast was fantastic (noodle soup was delicious)!
Alex M — Google review
Definitely worth considering. Andy is a great host, very helpful, and from North America so he speaks fluent English. The rooms are nice and well kept, the tour options are perfectly adequate, and laundry and beverages are available for a fair price charged to your room. Also the location could hardly be beat. The free breakfast is excellent!
Eric P — Google review
Wanted to like this place but it’s very hard to when Peter constantly couldn’t maintain respectful boundaries and act questionably around me when other guests are not around. Something for other solo female travellers to think about; please check online forums for the complete picture of this owner’s reputation. This is not this despicable gaslighter’s first rodeo. The guesthouse + location + cafe is good for the price. Otherwise, I regretfully won’t be coming here again, for my own safety. Reply: "I have thousands of good reviews, hence I must be a saint", you're really having fun hiding behind this fort. I would account inappropriately stroking my hair, my back, making comments about asking me to give you a foot massage, and touching my back (again) to 'adjust my straps' as disrespectful, not an 'innocent joke' and frankly, borderline SH. And no, I didn’t voluntarily walked into your room. You said your daughter sleeps there and INVITED me to see some kittens. That’s where you TOUCHED me and ASKED me to join your nap, remember you disgusting old rat? That room was hidden out of sight, and as a solo female traveller I wouldn’t rudely intrude someone’s living space unless I’m welcomed. Rewrite the narrative all you want, I hope people reading this can make their own decisions. My friend did return out of convenience after checking with me-- she could probably teach you a lesson if you were to attempt anything. Be better, Peter.

Lakhangthong Boutique Hotel, located at Noradeth Rd., Ban Thatluang, offers a laid-back atmosphere with free breakfast, bikes, and an airport shuttle. The hotel provides massages and features a garden for guests to relax in. It has pet-friendly rooms and amenities such as a bar, laundry services, and free breakfast. Previous guests have praised the friendly staff and clean rooms with great amenities like hot showers and efficient air conditioning.
An excellent and very affordable stay. Excellent hosts, great breakfast, and away from the hustle and bustle of town. Everything can be organised from the front. The room has a sort of old colonial architecture feel and the room was a cool retreat from the heat. As others have pointed out, there are tiny gaps in the walls but we didn’t experience anything coming in and the odd insect seemed deterred by tiger balm.

Worst hotel ever stayed in. Rooms very dirty. Bathroom even worse. Not soundproof, could hear everything next door room. 3 lights broken in the room, bedside lamp wires hanging out. Breakfast was bad. One day asked for a coffee and given a strawberry drink, told then not to put egg on the plate at breakfast as I am slightly allergic to it. When it cane half the plate had scrambled egg on it. Towels provided were very rough hurt the skin using them. No shower gel or shampoo provided. The room are locked using a simple padlock. Worst thing that when looking for my booking on booking.com the manager cancelled the booking and asked to pay him directly. This is so you can’t leave any negative feedback on the booking app.
Steve R — Google review
One of the worst hotels I've stayed at. They completely ruined my laundry. All my white clothes were mixed in with another guests clothes and turned yellow. They didn't even smell nice and were actually dirtier than before! The bathroom was filthy, and they would take the towels and not give them back, which was very strange. The breakfast choice is very limited and not the best. The rooms are spacious but you can hear all the other guests in adjoining rooms. When I plugged the fridge in, I thought I would be electrocuted as the socket was just wires sticking out and looked very dangerous. Also there were few lightbulbs that actually worked in the room. The person at the front guest was unhelpful and unprofessional. For the same price, you can stay somewhere better.

AVOID - do NOT stay at this hotel. We booked for 2 nights, paying slightly more than other hotels as we wanted a place to relax in. After arriving and checking in, we were underwhelmed by the room. It wasn’t clean, we were missing towels and the only way to secure the door was by padlock. We didn’t complain and left to get a coffee and take our laundry to a place we’d used before. When we arrived back at the hotel later on, I had an email from booking.com saying our booking was cancelled and the hotel had agreed to waive any cancellation fees. Funny…I never cancelled the booking. Turns out the manager cancelled the reservation through my phone, whilst ‘pretending’ to look at our booking as he ‘couldn’t find it’. Appalling behaviour and he had the audacity to claim nothing was wrong and we could instead review through Google. Booking.com confirmed we were entitled to a full refund, given the hotel had agreed to it already. It took a lot of arguing but the manager eventually gave us (almost) a full refund. No doubt he had already pocketed the extra $10 that he no longer had. We checked out and moved to a lovely hotel elsewhere. Please don’t stay here! Reading other reviews it appears we are not alone in our experience.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Avoid This Hotel! I had a terrible experience at the Lakhang Thong Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang. Despite booking a deluxe double room for nearly $120 per night, I was given a regular twin room that is worth only $50 on Agoda. The room was under 20 square meters, lacking the promised garden views, and was unacceptably noisy with poor hygiene. The hotel manager's attitude was appalling. He repeatedly lied about the room I booked and only admitted to the mistake after I pressed him. His dismissive comment, "I don't understand why you care about the size of the room when you're out from morning to late at night," showed a complete lack of concern for guest satisfaction. He even claimed ignorance about the hotel's setup, saying he hadn’t had enough time to learn everything! After refusing his insulting offer of a mere $30 refund, I reached out to Agoda for assistance. Unfortunately, the support I received has been ineffective. I’m still waiting for a follow-up regarding my request for a full refund for my first night and cancellation of the remaining two nights. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel and would advise potential guests to think twice before booking here

Cute and simple hotel. Nice staff, not speaking English though. Free rusty bikes to use for going around town. Beds are hard but I slept ok. Breakfast is basic. The area is generally quiet at night but I could hear a lot of noises from rooms above and next to me. I feel like it’s not a good value for the $52 a night I’ve paid.

Stay away from this place! They completely ruined our stay. 1. We booked for two nights, but after one night they told us to leave due to a big group arriving. 2. The laundry service was a disaster—our clothes were ruined, whites turned pink, and everything smelled awful. 3. The worst part: we were missing several pieces of clothing, including underwear. After insisting, they returned a bag full of random items, including many women's underwear—ours included. Unbelievable.
Ido B — Google review
The rooms are lovely, high ceiling, dark wood panels.. breakfast was fine. The bathroom was bad, mould, cobwebs, lime scale and generally very grubby. The owner is a young Vietnamese guy, hopefully he can sort this out. For the price it's fine (£10) but I wouldn't pay more than this.

Nestled along the banks of the Mekong River, Villa Alounsavath Mekong Riverside offers a charming retreat in Luang Prabang. This delightful bed & breakfast is conveniently located just a short stroll from key attractions like UXO Laos Visitor Center and Vat Visounnarath, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Housed in a beautiful French Colonial building, this quaint hotel exudes character and warmth, despite its vintage charm that may lack some modern amenities.
WOULD 10/10 RECOMMEND, I don’t usually leave reviews but we were amazed by the value for money we got during our stay here. Our room was so cosy and clean and staff were very kind and so helpful. Not to mention the lovely breakfast location right on the river.
Maia D — Google review
Quaint small hotel right on the Mekong River. Within walking distance of downtown, the night market and the morning market. Built in a French Colonial building it has its charms. But because it is an older building it does not offer some of the features of modern rooms. That is part of the charm. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. They offer motorcycle and bike rentals and tour bookings
GREG M — Google review
Booked this guesthouse given the Riverside location however we could not have been more disappointed. We booked a Riverside panoramic room. The room was noisy with very poor insulation so could hear every single car that passed on the road. Also despite supposedly having a Riverside view this was all blocked by the trees so no view of the river. The bathroom had mould and was not cleaned properly. Breakfast was not edible and eveeything was cold. Also curtains did not cover the windows so people could see in from outside. To top things off the service by the gentleman at the reception desk was very poor and it felt like he was doing a favour to us by answering any questions. Definitely not worth the money we paid. There are so many better and cheaper options in the city

These people are absolutely awesome!! This was an excellent stay. They go above and beyond to take care of you. They serve a free breakfast that is native to the area and is excellent!! The rooms are cozy and have a really good AC. It's in an excellent location and we highly reccomended it!!

Great location and friendly staff. The room was okay, but you'll find better for less. Furniture is rather old. The level of cleanliness was okay and the small balcony in our room was a nice feature. The breakfast is served in the open-air restaurant facing the Mekong River – very beautiful. However, the selection of food is rather limited.

Our stay at this property was truly exceptional—one of the best we've experienced in all of Southeast Asia! The location was perfect, the service was outstanding, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Our room was not only comfortable but also impeccably clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier stay in Luang Prabang.
Mackenna E — Google review
I normally don’t leave reviews for hotels I’ve stayed at, but this experience was far below expectations, especially considering the price I paid for a Deluxe Twin Room. First of all, my name wasn’t on the check-in list, which caused some confusion. We were given a room on the ground floor without a balcony — which was acceptable — but several issues made the stay very disappointing: 1. The door was difficult to open and close, and there was a noticeable gap at the top that didn’t seal properly. 2. There were many moths in both the room and bathroom. 3. A strong unpleasant odor lingered in the room, seemingly coming from the bathroom due to a poor sewage system. To make things worse, I found out that the current room rate on Agoda is now only half of what I paid when I booked three months ago — USD 20/night (THB 700) compared to the USD 50/night (THB 1,700) I was charged.

Y Not Lao Villa is a charming B&B located in a quiet alley next to the Mekong River, offering a great location near the Royal Palace Museum and Wat Sensoukharam. The property provides spacious and comfortable rooms with clean bathrooms and good breakfast choices. Guests appreciate the helpful and friendly staff, particularly the manager who goes above and beyond to assist with travel arrangements, such as sourcing train tickets or booking trips to popular attractions like Kuang si Falls.
It has the magic of being an old country house in Laos. The staff were smiling and helpful in recommending travel plans in Luang Prabang for us. River, Old palace, Morning market and night market are only a minute walk. Love this place.

We didn't intend to stay here but our original hotel overbooked itself and booked us here for 2 nights. It is in a good location and the breakfast is nice. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The manager really saved us by helping us to get train tickets. After he tried one agent who said it was fully booked, we went to the ticket office in town who said they only had one ticket left, we were very despondent but the manager was able to source two tickets from somewhere for us, saving us a 7 hour journey in a van. We paid extra but we got the tickets. Saviour.

10/10 recommend staying here! Staff was super helpful and friendly, and the rooms were big and clean with great AC. Location is amazing as you’re right by the morning market and night market.
Saige M — Google review
It is less than 5 minutes' walk away from the main street, located in an alleyway. Nice guy and his kids manning the reception, and they were very courteous all the time. Stayed on the ground floor, and it was not good as footsteps on the second floor can be heard clearly, and it will get crazy noisy around 6 am as they start to prepare breakfast. You do get your own yard outside your room where you can have your breakfast. The room and toilet weren't the cleanest, looked old, and is at best adequate. Breakfast was good where you can choose from a menu. The American breakfast is a hearty option, and they also offer you fruits, mineral water, and a cup of orange juice. WiFi worked intermittently. Met with puddles of water in the room which seeped in from the toilet walls. I was offered to get my room changed, but it was obviously forgotten. I had to strategically navigate the room over the 4 days of my stay. There was also a lack of space for you to place your belongings if you have a lot of stuff with you. Still, an amazing place to stay and value for money though.

We had nice stay here 2 nights with breakfast We tried two set of breakfast ( American breakfast and Omelet set ). We can select drinks and juice such as mango , banana , coffee or tea. Staff so lovely and very helpful. Cheap price. Private. Close to Night and Morning market only 50 m. from villa. Close to Pusi Mountain and Museum 300 m. from villa. I recommended!!!! Will stay next time.

Wonderful location near both the morning and night markets. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was clean with great hot water and water pressure. Breakfast choices were good. Nice extra touch that they would bring you a fresh shake. Manager Thonthp went above and beyond in orienting me to the city and available activities. He made arrangements for a trip to Kuang si Falls. He also helped me book a van to VangVieng. He was so polite and thoughtful throughout my stay.

We stayed in this place for 16 days. The room in fact was a little small but we didn't need more. It was quiet, good air-conditioning, very clean. Great service from the employees. Tong and La. We really enjoy it.

Nice but the room above the kitchen can get noisy on the morning. And people are able to smoke up stairs but it goes into the rooms. We had a very unfriendly neighbour who did not want to go down to smoke and we could tell eveytime he was lightning a cigarette. I think no smoking upstairs should be a rule.

A gem - excellent stay. Run by a nice friendly Chinese family that is English speaking. 1 min walk to riverside, 5 mins walk to national museum & Phousi Hill. 5-10mins walk to night market, morning mkt, 15 mins walk to Wat Xieng Thong. Clean room, toilet and sheets. Hot water in shower comes quickly. Room is bright if needed. Quiet neighbourhood. Stayed 3 nights. Good TV channels - HBO, CNN, sports channel - watched NFL and UFC. Helped me arrange 40k kip ride to train station. Oh... near to cafes (near to Khaipean - restaurant serving creative food to help marginalised youths), restaurants and main street.

Nice guesthouse on a great location. Near the river, near the mainstreet and near beautyful temples. The owner is super. I hurt my leg at a previous location and had an ankle distortion. The owner arranged immediately a room at the ground floor. So sweet. My daughter found a little kitten next door to the guesthouse. The owner allowed us to take care of the kitten in our bathroom till a catrescue took over the next day. Would I ever go back to luang prabang I would choose to stay at sky dragon guesthouse again. Very nice people, a fine room and bathroom and a good bed.

Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang, the Luang Prabang Legend Hotel offers unpretentious accommodations with simply furnished rooms and a range of amenities. The hotel provides free parking and Wi-Fi for guests' convenience. Situated on Bounkhong Road in Thad Luang Village, this hotel is well-liked by visitors seeking comfortable and clean rooms at affordable rates. Its central location allows easy access to restaurants, bars, and shopping areas.
This might be the best hotel that we've stayed in since arriving in Laos a few weeks ago. The rooms are well-kept and come equipped with a TV and strong air-conditioning. The showers are a good size, and we enjoyed the included breakfast each morning as well. The Legend Hotel is located a few minutes' walk from the local and night markets. It is worth noting that the staff went out of their way to assist us whenever needed. This was a great experience overall!

We enjoyed our stay here! Very friendly staff, the best complimentary breakfast we had so far in 5 weeks traveling SEA. Huge room, aircon working fine, good value for money. Yes, it can always be cleaner but again, this is not Europe and the prices are also not European so I don't quite understand the fuss some people make. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely little hotel. Only a 5 minute walk from the Main Street but it is surrounded by some really nice restaurants. Rooms are clean and tidy and quite nice. We stayed for 8 nights and loved it. Breakfast was fantastic. The banana pancake was our favourite. The staff were fantastic, they were all so friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their faces. If I return to Luang Prabang I would definitely come back here!

Excellence hotel. Great staff. The rooms are very nice, the beds are comfortable and the shower is amazing!! They have his breakfast too. The location is great - not on top of the night market and close to everything. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel is situated less than 5 mins walk from the entrance of Mount Phousi. It takes about 10 to 15 mins walk to reach the town center. The street along side the hotel is line up with eateries too. There is a very rustic feel to this hotel with its wooden furnishing but it is showing its age. I like the feel of being thrownback 40 or 50 years ago though i am not that age. The staffs are friendly and able to speak good english. Breakfast is simple yet delicious to eat. Plus point is that the water warms up quickly. Great for a warm shower in the cold season. Perhaps the cleaning can be slightly better as i entered the room with leftovers (e.g. water in the kettle and jacket in the wardrobe) from the previous occupant.

On The Mekong Resort is a luxurious hotel in Luang Prabang that overlooks the Mekong River. It has 3 dining options, an outdoor pool and private terraces/balconies. Rooms are decorated with wooden furniture and flooring, with glass doors that open to a private terrace or balcony.
Lovely tranquil little oasis right next to the Mekong River. The owner Henry is incredibly friendly and easygoing. He clearly cares about not only the property, but also the staff (most of whom have been there for years and who get free room and board, healthcare, and education for their children). Breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious, served right next to the Mekong. You can also order dinner to dine next to the river. Rooms are comfortable and exquisitely decorated. Excellent air-conditioning and fans. We also saw heaters in the room for when it gets colder. Comfortable soft blankets and towels. Heated pool. It is very chill and peaceful. Would love to return!

Stayed here as a family and had the most amazing stay. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful in wanting to ensure that you had everything you required to make your stay feel like home. Nee works tirelessly in the office to make any arrangements you have. The breakfast is great with a rotating menu all of which was delicious. Henry, the owner, wants to make the place feel like your home and on the Mekong certainly does. They offer free rides into town as well which is a great touch. This was the best stay of our holiday and it was genuinely sad to leave.

One of our warmest and most human experience we have ever had. We came for 2 nights with my family, and we have an amazing welcome and tour of the property by Henry the owner and Nee from the front desk. Amazing location, with an astonishing Mekong river view. Authentic and beautiful rooms, large and clean! Lovely breakfast as well. But the best is the story of this place, great job to Henry for having created such a down-to-earth haven of peace for locals and tourists !

We had a wonderful stay at On the Mekong Resort in Laos. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the owner, Henry, who always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The resort itself is truly beautiful – calm, surrounded by lush greenery, and with an incredible view over the Mekong River. Watching the sunsets from here was absolutely magical. Breakfasts were excellent, with a nice variety to choose from – fresh croissants, tasty Western options, and delicious Asian dishes. What makes this place stand out most is the staff. Every single person greets you with a genuine, warm smile and is always happy to help, whether it’s arranging a day trip, booking a tuk-tuk ride, or simply making your stay more enjoyable. This is a place where you feel not only like a guest, but truly cared for. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, comfort, and a touch of Laotian hospitality at its best.

My wife and I spent some of our 20th anniversary trip here and it was incredibly special. Walking through the gate onto the grounds is like walking into a 1900s hillside vilage (but with modern rooms, a heated swimming pool, and an espresso machine) with historic buildings bought from, moved and reassembled on site. Henry, Ne, and their staff took incredible care of us, the breakfast was delicious, and their suggestions for where to dine in town were just perfect. The sunsets were stunning from the riverbank common area, and the night market/downtown were just a short tuktuk ride away. Our only regret was not staying longer. Should/when we return, we will only be staying at On the Mikong, we just hope next time to bring our kids.

A Hidden Gem with Breathtaking Views of the Mekong I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful art-inspired hotel and was truly impressed from the moment I arrived. The room was not only stylish and thoughtfully designed, but also full of charm and character. Every detail—from the local artwork on the walls to the handpicked furnishings—made it feel like a unique and personal experience, not just another hotel stay. What truly made it unforgettable was the view. Waking up each morning to the serene sight of the Mekong River was magical. Watching the sun set over the water from the comfort of the restaurant was a highlight of my trip. It brought a deep sense of calm and connection to the place. The staff were warm, attentive, especially the Owner, Henry is a great man and made me feel at home throughout my stay. Whether you’re an art lover, a nature enthusiast, or simply someone looking for a peaceful and beautiful escape, I highly recommend this hotel. I can’t wait to come back!

I only stayed four nights at On the Mekong Resort, but it left a lasting impression on me. The resort feels like a small Lao village, not only in its architecture and layout but also in the fact that most of the staff are truly local. This gives the place a very authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The resort is managed by an American gentleman with a fascinating background in the airline industry and years of international experience. He was a highlight of my stay: full of wonderful travel stories, always ready with down-to-earth advice, and tireless in making sure every guest felt comfortable. He actively encouraged communication between guests, which created a friendly, almost family-like environment. Thanks to his recommendations, I was able to visit the waterfalls, take a boat tour on the Mekong, explore the caves, and spend a memorable day at the elephant sanctuary. All of these experiences were unforgettable, and I highly recommend them to anyone staying here. Breakfast was another highlight. It was included in the stay, filling, and mostly based on local dishes that varied from day to day. Everything was freshly prepared on the spot and could be tailored to your taste. The selection of coffees was excellent - from a simple black coffee to cappuccino or latte - which made each morning a very nice experience to start the day. I also appreciated the resort’s constant openness to feedback – the manager repeatedly told us that if there was anything that could be improved, we should let them know immediately and they would take action. This made me feel very well cared for. Another practical highlight was the tuk-tuk service that runs from 8 AM to 8 PM, which made the short distance to the city center very convenient. Even after hours, it was easy to catch a tuk-tuk or taxi back. Overall, my stay was nothing short of fantastic. On the Mekong Resort is much more than just accommodation - it’s an experience. I left with beautiful memories and a strong desire to return. Highly recommended!

This resort was an amazing place to spend a few days. Its location is perfect; you've got a phenomenal view of the Mekong River. The resort and the rooms have everything you could wish for: a swimming pool, a lovely breakfast (and dinner if you wish to order that) and a lot of nature to look at. The rooms were beautifully furnished and clean. Even though we were there in the rainy season, we were able to sit outside under the veranda (don't forget to bring insect spray, though!) The staff and the owner were attentive and super kind and thoughtful. There was a tuktuk available to bring you to the city centre -included in the price of the stay- and we even got a sweet goodbye gift when we left. It's a really good place to spend some time in a calm and breathtakingly beautiful setting.

La Casa Hostel is a charming and comfortable accommodation located near Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden and the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre in Luang Prabang. The hostel offers picturesque views from its balcony, and the staff promptly attends to any issues, ensuring a pleasant stay. While the breakfast is simple but delicious, guests have suggested adding more variety to it. The location is convenient for exploring Luang Prabang, with easy access to the airport.
Mr Woo is a truly fantastic host and was super caring to ensure Ihad a great stay at his guesthouse. He went out of his way to ensure I had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was varied and local dishes, great to try some traditional Laotian food. Shower got hot and water pressure decent. I had such a great stay that I actually doubled the amount of time I stayed at La Casa.

Woo is a really kind host, he let me come back a few times to visit friends even after I had checked out. They also had a sign saying they collect clothes that they donate to communities in need so if you have anything you don't need anymore, save it and give it to them here. Dorms are clean and beds are comfy. Curtains are a wee bit see-through but with only 4 beds to a dorm it's not really a problem. It's not the most central, bit still a good location. Actually I liked the area of town it was in, it was quieter and more authentic. I'd definitely stay here again. The family dinner was a really great touch, and free breakfast in the morning was delicious. Thank you!

Incredible hostel. Mr Wu is super nice and very informative about everything in Laos and the Luang Prabang area. The hostel is in a quite neighborhood which is very good for getting a good night's sleep. The floor and everything is incredibly clean. The breakfast is also good. A very nice guest house, its very clean and calm. Still there is a space where you can meet other people. The host is super nice and helpful. Breakfast is interesting, its salty and I suppose tradicional lao family Breakfast. Sometimes it would be surprising test but still nice to experience that. The only down is that the Breakfast is between 9 am to 10 am. I guess there is a reason for that but, when you have plan and want to start the day early to avoid the very very hot sun, it make things complicated.

Lovely guesthouse/ hostel conveniently located in Luang Prabang ! We had a private room upstairs which was spacious and comfortable. The real highlight was the sociable garden area where breakfast was served (and it was always new thing everyday), as well as family dinners every 3rd day. The hosts are so kind, friendly and welcoming - we'd recommend staying here for anyone looking for a cosy guesthouse in Luang Prabang !

I had a great stay here. The hostel is well situated within walking distance to the old town, night market, phou si hill, etc. with cafes and restaurants nearby. The hostel dorm is comfortable with large beds, good AC (turned on at night but you can request to turn it on during the day), breakfast and good showers. You can refill your water which is greatly appreciated and there is also tea and coffee always available. Woo at the front desk is really nice, helpful and very responsive on WhatsApp. He checked the train timetable for me and noticed that my previous hostel booked me on the wrong train. He saved me from what would have been a big hassle. Overall people at the hostel were social and friendly and it was nice to meet other travelers at breakfast or in the dorms. Thank you Woo for everything!!

Wow. A fantastic gem of a budget hotel! Air conditioning works very well, the water pressure is good, wifi is very strong, and the hotel rooms are very clean, but the real star of this hotel are the employees who are extremely attentive (asking how they can help and providing everything we might need). They helped us organize thuk badt for the monks and the breakfasts are outstanding! We stayed here three nights and we were very impressed. I definitely recommend this hotel. Just keep in mind the beds are traditional, hard beds traditionally found in Laos. Outstanding location and a short walk to most wats and the night market.

We loved our stay here. Rooms are very comfortable and all with a balcony wi and chairs just outside of every room. The location was great with many restaurants and shops just minutes away. Free breakfast was great with eggs and French bread and fruit. The staff and owner were very helpful. When I needed to change my departure the owner drove us to the airport and then showed us the New Chinese High Speed Terminal which runs from the capital of Loas to China. We highly recommend Sok Dee Resident.

✅Aircon ✅24/7 Hot shower with excellent water pressure ✅Convenient location ✅High hygiene standards ✅Amenities including daily water bottle and coffee sachet provision ✅Kettle ✅Water dispenser ✅Comfy beds and pillows Tranquil and comfortable place. Perfect if you’re a bit tired of cheap bare minimum guesthouses and are looking for a bit more luxury for an affordable rate. The family running the place is so safe. They’d go miles to help you out. P.s. this is where I met my husband 10y ago who I’ve been travelling with since then. We wouldn’t be here without them and owe them so much. Mad respect for running a place for such a long time in fast-changing Luang Prabang. Hope you have a lovely time here like we did 📿🪷🫶

We loved our stay in Sokdee residence, and wish we could have stayed longer. The location could not be better, one block away from the Main Street. The people who work at the hotel are the friendliest we have met on our travels. Each morning they had a different array of food for breakfast, which they were proud to show us. They also had barista coffee which was a nice touch, and something we didn’t have anywhere else. They were also very helpful in arranging a day trip to the nearby waterfalls for a good price. Overall, thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed for four nights and felt very at home. The rooms were comfortable and clean with a great breakfast. Staff were really welcoming, especially Surinda the Manager. Fabulous location, two minutes from the Mekong River and the night market. It was also on the Monks early morning route. Great value for money.

Amazing place. Near the river and very close to the market. Rooms are beautiful with good air con. The staff are some of the most friendly people you'll ever meet. Looking forward to coming back some day.

I stayed here over the Chinese New Year as there was nowhere else to stay. Reviews were not good, so I was a bit worried. It has been renovated and there is a really nice English speaking manager. Breakfast was good. The rooms are clean. The only place I have stayed where you can turn the shower to full water, and they are still hot. Also safe bike parking and good bed. Give it a try as it is in the centre of town

La Casa de Jardin is a charming hostel located in Luang Prabang, within walking distance of the city's historic center. Guests appreciate its cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere. The hostel offers a shared kitchen and a garden, providing a serene escape from the city bustle. Visitors praise the lovely design of the backyard, living room, and private rooms, as well as the owner's evident love for the place.
I had such a lovely stay here! The place has a cozy, homey vibe that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The free breakfast is amazing plus coffee and tea! The family dinner is also great, they serve good food and do little bit of activity to encourage people to connect and socialize which I personally like. What I love even more is their involvement in local charity events, like giving school supplies to kids and giving food at the orphanage. It’s heartwarming to know that they care about the community, not just the guests. The staff and the people I met were all super warm and accommodating. I’ll definitely be staying here again when I come back to Luang Prabang!

Lovely Place. My friend and I stayed a total of 7 nights in the private room. The room was amazing. Lots of space and light. Compfy bed. The owners were really sweet and welcoming. And we really enjoyed the free breakfast and family dinner.

Beautiful place with friendly staff. Unfortunately, there are still BEDBUGS in the shared room. I know this is a persistent problem and they’ve done everything they can to get rid of them, but it really does ruin a few days. After waking up, I saw them in my bed. They were crawling over my bag and belongings, and even inside the zipper. I have only read the booking and Agoda reviews, so I didn’t see the google ones about bedbugs. The owner said there was no place where I could dry my things at a high temperature. However, there is a place: KCT Wash near the Dara Market. The hostel is affordable, but if you end up spending a few days washing everything and having to throw stuff away, it’s not worth it. Beautiful place to stay, if there are no more bedbugs. The staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast is good.

Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang, the Luang Prabang Residence (The Boutique Villa) is an elegant guesthouse that offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience. With its unfussy yet stylish rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, guests can unwind after exploring the vibrant surroundings. The property boasts a charming garden terrace where you can enjoy a complimentary breakfast amidst lush greenery.
We stayed four nights in January. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. During the check-in we were offered some drinks and fruits. We got room 201, it was quiet and specious. The design is like everywhere here in town, with dark wood. The bathroom might need a bit of renovation. The location of the hotel is amazing. 2 mins away from night market, temple, street where people watch the alms giving and other town activities. The hotel also offers complimentary bikes. We would definitely recommend it for a short stay in Luang Prabang.

We had an amazing experience! Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the manager with complimentary fruits and drinks while we waited for our room. His English was quite good, which made communication easy. Breakfast was included and absolutely delicious—freshly made to order every morning. The WiFi connection was strong throughout our stay, and the hotel offered convenient services like taxi bookings and tour arrangements. The location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of town. The night market was less than a block away, and the morning market was right outside the front entrance. We also appreciated that the hotel let us store our luggage after checkout so we could explore more before heading out. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed around 7 nights in the Luang Prabang Residence hotel. The good point about the hotel is clearly the location: though being in the full centre in Luang Prabang, close to everything, it's calm and peaceful. Room was very spacious and quite clean. However, improvements have to be made: breakfast was ok, but nothing special, service is ok, but basically the hotel runs with 2 people who do everything (with a lot of good willing and smile), in cooperation with the Gollden Peacock hotel (on the other side of the road, same owner I guess). Bathroom could be updated. On the last days we had a plane late, so we asked if it was possible to have just a shower, ans we were sent in a small basic - and quite dirty - place outside the building; when mentioned it was not ok, there was some misuntderstanding, mentioning that it was free (so it was already nice to have this possibility). The point is the hotel is quite expensive in Luang Prabang's standards, but the service is not at the level you can expect for this price - so improvements have to be made. So good place, excellent location, but has to improve the service to make it a excellent quality/ price rate hotel.
JEAN E — Google review
Location is amazing - morning market literally right outside, night market 1min walk away and town and the Mekong is less than 5min away - can’t be beaten. Enjoyed the stay although it was very simple - more of a 3* in my opinion. Staff tried to help but were limited in their ability. Breakfast was nice to have but very basic. We were extremely disappointed when paying for train tickets and being promised to be booked for what we wanted (to be together as a family of 4), only to be told for 2 days straight, yes it’s coming and please wait, only to have to chase them up the night before the train only to get them delivered to us at 10pm and have our family of 4 not together - it was extremely frustrating and soured our stay. Another minor challenge was the drumming from the monetary next door which happened late at night and as early as 4am every morning. Apart from that the rooms are big and they have free bikes for use which is nice.

I stayed 8 nights at the Luang Prabang Residence and it was a great stay. The location is so close to everything in the historic district, the rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. The staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is freshly made to order and there are lots of options.

We spent 4 nights. Room was clean, tidy and spacious. We had double room at ground floor.... For privacy we couldn't very much open windows... Not an issue😊. We were welcomed with a fresh cold drink and some fruit and also placed some fruit in the room. The breakfast was superb served outdoors in the beautiful garden of the hotel. Wholeheartedly we give thanks to Mr Tom who helped us with train and bus tickets and taxis and all what we asked for! A gentleman indeed. The monks and market didn't bother us at all, so quite. Without hesitation I recommend this hotel.

This place is great! Location is amazing (steps away from the night market, and the morning market is the same street as the hotel), rooms are clean and AC works super well, and the staff is SO nice and helpful. Tom has a perpetual smile on his face and might be the happiest person I’ve ever met which was contagious to me. If you’re considering booking this place, then consider no more. Book before someone else does!

Our receptionist, Tom made our stay such a wonderful experience the past couple of days. We arrived after hours and he was up to receive us and helped us navigate the city. He was responsive to our room requests. We remember him best for his genuine smile and kindness. We will book again with our next trip to Luang Prabang. This place is in the perfect location for morning and night markets, and walking distance from other food and store stops.

We had a terrible experience with this hostel. We booked it through Booking.com about one month before Lao New Year. But when we arrived on the check-in date, the staff suddenly told us that our room was already given to another guest. She just said “sorry” and explained that the owner had changed and she didn’t know about the website booking. This is not a reasonable excuse. I told her that if we couldn’t get the room, the hostel should have informed us by email or phone before we arrived — especially since it was the high season and very difficult to find another place to stay. She said she would arrange for us to stay at another hostel, and even claimed that the new place was more expensive but they would cover it because it was their fault. However, when we arrived at that second hostel, the staff told us there was no room for us. They said the lady (from the first hostel) misunderstood the situation, and we had to move again. It was raining that day, and we got all wet walking around. It was also getting dark. We accepted their arrangement not because we were okay with it, but because it was the high season and the weather was bad. Eventually, one of the staff from the second hostel brought us to a third hostel. We stayed there because it was already late and we were exhausted. He told us the first place (Singharat Boutique House) was only 2-star, while this one (Jasmine Place House) was 3-star, and that we were getting a discount because of the trouble. But in reality, the room they gave us was in bad condition. The bed sheets and towels were not clean, and the toilet door was broken and couldn't be closed. In conclusion, we had a very bad experience staying in Luang Prabang because of this situation. Their service was unprofessional and poorly managed. Everything I mentioned above is true.

The location is great, but the room was not okay. This is my second time in Luang Prabang. We booked King room sizes, but when we arrived, he gave us tiny and uncomfortable rooms. Then, we asked the receptionist, and he changed for us. However, I felt very disappointed about the room. I stayed there only 1 night, and I didn’t take showers as there was no water. I informed the receptionist, but there was nothing different. A/C was making noise, so I couldn’t sleep at all. It didn’t match our paid. I don’t recommend this place.

Excellent service! Nice rooms and good location. Our host went above and beyond to help us book a last minute train to Vientiane after 12GOAsia messed up with our tickets. He also arranged transport to the train station for us. The lady working there was also very kind. Extremely grateful to both of them for their hospitality and help! Would 100% recommend to stay here.

A reasonably priced room with breakfast. Clean, spacious but my room had no view. You get what you pay for. Staff were polite if you were respectful to them.
Marjorie D — Google review
We were guests for 3 nights and when we asked for a specific tour and paid for it the owner booked something completely different for us and we wasted half a day with riding a slowboat when we booked kayaking. After discussion of 30min with the owner we got 2/3 of our money back when we asked for a full refund. He was putting words in our mouth and didn't show much regret. Felt tricked and would advise to book tours somewhere else. Other staff and breakfast was great. Rooms were okay but old and sound wise felt like a bungalow. Owner didn't show much interest when asking for something.
Björn W — Google review
Very clean rooms, but the ones on the right building need more natural lighting. Staff were really friendly but kept getting our breakfast order wrong despite us reminding them every day please no meat or dairy please, my husband found ham in the omelette etc. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The bikes need servicing and can’t really be relied on.

The 5-star property is close to attractions like Wat Aham and Wat Siphoutthabath. Guests can enjoy a clean and fresh room with air conditioning, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. However, some guests have noted issues with wifi stability and slow water pressure in the showers.

Centrally located in Luang Prabang, there are many food and laundry services within a short walking distance. It’s certainly a good place to stay at during Pi Mi Lao (Songkran), as the parade passes through the area, and there are many celebrations in the immediate vicinity. The room I chose was basic, but upon checking in, the bath tub and television was missing based on the room type that I booked on Agoda. The issue was quickly resolved and my room was changed. Service is generally good, albeit the service staff not being proficient in English. I prefer firm mattresses, but the mattress here is a little too hard to my liking. I was not informed of the breakfast timings, but to be fair I was hardly awake in time for breakfast during my stay. Power outages are frequent but quickly restored. Water pressure in the shower can sometimes run low. The rooms do not come with ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs. If you are up to shady businesses, avoid this property as housekeeping will be done daily when you are out.

I like almost everything here. Big breakfast, very nice room. Staffs were professional, friendly and kind. Located in the middle of two rivers, Khong and Khan. But wifi (inside room) was unstable and slow while every restos and cafes I had been to had much faster speed. We stayed in deluxe king suites, duplex room. Shower was completely weak and had to be super patience due to lack of water many times, we could not wash hair here.
Nisachol T — Google review
The room is clean and fresh with aircon. Receptionists are nice and polite. But the room arrangement may make you a bit uncomfortable if you are used to with privacy as toilet and bathroom are placed inside the room with blur glass. Luckily there is a common toilet downstair so I used it as an alternative

We had the deluxe suite which has a living room downstairs and the bed upstairs. It was spacious. In need of repairs and proper cleaning. Pros: location, strong water pressure in the shower and nice hot water, generous breakfast Cons: unfriendly, quite unhelpful staff, rock solid mattresses. Almost like sleeping on the floor. Needs maintenance and staff training.
Fiona M — Google review
The hotel is in old part of Luang Prabang and the location is convenient. There was adequate water in the shower and the breakfast was okay. But, I do need to give feedback to the hotel here. Firstly, the mattress was rock hard. I'm from Sweden and I slept on rocks in the Swedish Army, so I rarely complain. But please understand very few people would enjoy this hardness of the matress, especially not foreigners. Secondly, its a lovely wood floor but you really have let the maintainance slip here. It wouldnt take much effort to patch some of the gaping holes. I mean we could see the grovel under the floor as some holes were the size of my fist almost. I understand it may be termites or water damage but just patch it some please. I may point out also, I didnt expect the sink to be basically next to the TV and that the toilet and shower were shower cabins in the room like a Studio, I would have hoped for a proper seperate bathroom but perhaps its a common design in the area.

Rooms are very noisy. Can hear everything from outside, also in the night. Power outlet in room was very inconsistent (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). Too much light gets into the room at night and the morning. Staff are friendly. I would not come here again.

Siridel Luang Prabang is a comfortable and clean accommodation located in a picturesque lane, just a short walk from the night market. The rooms are traditional with balconies, offering a fantastic location close to tourist attractions. The staff is friendly and accommodating, providing helpful service and organizing activities like the Alm ceremony. Situated on a quiet street near the night bazaar, this guest house run by a welcoming family offers comfortable and quiet rooms.
Amazing place. Some rooms have soft beds. Showers are nice. It’s relatively quiet. Perfect location. Nice staff. Cheap prices. I am a fan.
Alexander L — Google review
Unfortunately, the hotel and our stay fell short of expectations, especially for a 3-star hotel priced at $120 for three nights. The hotel is on a small street near the center, which is nice, and the staff at check-in were friendly. The room was spacious and clean at first, though the furniture and bathroom were quite old and could use some updating. The biggest issue was the lack of information and support for booking tours, activities and transfers (tuktuk), which they offer... but don't exist. Despite numerous inquiries over our four-day stay and visible promotional posters for tours, the staff seemed clueless about any offerings or their own posters. Each time we asked, they would either brush it off or tell us to wait for someone else who never showed up or called us back (I left my number). Eventually, we had to waste many hours wandering around the city to find tour agencies and compare prices. Second, although we booked through Booking.com for a fixed price including ALL EXPENSES and with credit-card payment, the hotel demanded cash (meaning +22USD in Bank and ATM fees for us) or a surcharge of 5% for card payment?? Funnily, at first they said 3%, then 5%. So it seems than the credit-card fee depends on their mood. Not legal, not OK. Third of all, we run out of drinking water on two evenings and went to reception around 10:30 Pm, but no one was at the desk, and even after ringing multiple times and waiting both times for 1,5 hours, no one came. All the lights were on and they could hear us (you can hear every single conversation and toilet flush in the building), but they didn't care. Since tap water is not drinkable in Luang Prabang and everything was closed (curfew), we had to wait till 7 am in order to be able to drink a simple glass of water. It was a very uncomfortable situation. We also tried to reach them twice during the day but nobody was there except the cleaning lady and she doesn't speak a word of English. Writing a message through Booking.com also did not work. Fourth of all, during our stay they made the bed and changed the towels, but didn't care about cleaning the bathroom, bedroom or the floor (which was completely full of dort from the city as luang Prabang is not paved and pretty dusty), although it hadn't been cleaned for 4 days and was in the need of it. Not understandable. Dirty coffee mugs, floor, table, dirty balcony and filled trashcans were also left untouched. Overall, this felt more like a hostel than a hotel, lacking basic amenities, cleaning and support. For the price, you can find better options in Luang Prabang that offer a bar, pool, reliable services, and access to water. Take in mind. that they will charge you 3 to 5% for card payment and if you opt for cash withdrawal at an ATM, you have to do it twice (all ATMs in luang prabang have a maximum 2000000kip), so you'll end up paying 2x 3% ATM fee plus conversion fee and cash withdrawal fee from your bank. So it adds about 22 USD to the room, making it the same price as a 4 to 5 star hotel in Luang Prabang.

Such a great location! Only about 2-3 minutes from the night market and Phuosi hill. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is so so kind and welcoming. Loved our time here!

Stayed only one night. The staff were incredibly friendly, but the room was tiny and was completely filled by the twin beds (which made no sense for such a tiny room). It was uncomfortable with no place to put our bags, shoes, anything really - was in the narrow pathway between the bed and the walls. The state of the bathroom was poor - the sink was half detached from the wall, and the water drained very slowly.
Sagit S — Google review
Location was great; the guest house is located among other guest houses in a small, but picturesque lane way, about a 2-3 minute walk from the night market. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Quality of the rooms was traditional, with some signs of age, however, still in working order. I'd definitely return.

Ban Vivanh chambres d'hotes is a charming 8-room hotel located in a serene area near a small river, offering a peaceful retreat. While limited English is spoken, the hosts are incredibly hospitable and accommodating. The property provides a good breakfast and offers convenient amenities such as airport pick-up and bicycle rentals. Guests can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and unique recommendations from the welcoming hosts. The hotel's comfortable rooms, daily room service, and friendly staff contribute to an enjoyable stay.
Our large family actually rented out the entire guesthouse for two weeks while the family was absent, so our experience was not the typical one. But we had a lovely stay! Although it was quite hot while we were there, the guesthouse garden and common area are so shady and breezy and full of trees and plants that we were comfortable outdoors virtually all day. The rooms were simple but comfortable, with good A/C and hot water and nice little balconies overlooking the river, and a mini-fridge for each room. Wifi worked great, aside from a few area-wide power outages (none of which lasted more than an hour or so). We also used the guesthouse kitchen daily, which was quite different from a Western kitchen, but functional and well stocked. When we were there (October/November 2024) there was quite a lot of construction going on next door - they appear to be terracing the riverbanks or something like that, and it is anticipated to take quite a while longer. This means that during the day, there were some loud trucks and machinery. At night, the only noise was the occasional karaoke party from the restaurants across the river. Vivanh is a wonderful hostess; even though she was out of town taking care of her ailing mother, she was always available on WhatsApp to answer our questions, give us directions, and provide any extras we requested via her cleaning ladies or her gardener or her friend down the road. Our children especially enjoyed her friendly cats! The location is just across the river from the historic downtown - very close, as the crow flies, but there is no quick way to get there. The bamboo bridge does not exist, although it may be built again once the riverbank construction project is complete. You can walk to the downtown (approx 30-40 minutes), you can walk to the local boat and take it across (approx 15-20 minutes - the boat belongs to a restaurant so it only runs during lunch and dinner hours), you can ride a bicycle across the slightly scary old French bridge (Vivanh provided several bicycles for us to use), or you can try to call a tuktuk or car (which only worked for us at non-busy times). I think the location was mostly a plus, because we were living in a more Lao area (as opposed to the tourist center) - everything was cheaper and felt more "real," if not as picture-perfect. We bought most of our food at the local produce/meat market, about a 15 minute walk, but buying Western foods (breads, any kind of dairy at all) took a lot more effort. For someone with mobility challenges, this wouldn't be ideal - you need to be comfortable with a lot of walking. But for healthy, active people looking for a comfortable stay on a budget, this is perfect! I'd also recommend Ban Vivanh if you have a larger group (8-16 people) for a longer stay; Vivanh may be willing to rent the whole place to you as well!

Such a nice place to stay in Luang Prabang. We booked for 3 nights and in the end we stayed the whole week. We really enjoyed the time with Vivanh and David. They know a lot of good things about Luang Prabang and there are bicycle that you can use for free! We liked to stay in this place the most in Laos. There's free and good Coffee in the morning. Even for my Birthday they made a really nice Breakfast for me. Thank you guys so much!

Ban Vivanh is a beautiful and well-kept place that was the family's home before it became a guest house. It was the cleanest and best tended place we've been to in the whole of Laos, and we ended up staying almost two weeks. Vivanh and her partner are lovely people who take good care of theirs guests and the property. The rooms have all a private balcony and proper mosquito nets. You can spend your time in the garden, use the kitchen as well as the bicycles that were newly purchased in March 25. The cycling to the old centre takes about 15 min. At the time we were there in March 25 there was a construction going on all along the small river which meant sometimes quite some noise during the day anywhere along this river. However, most of the time it wasn't very present. I do highly recommend staying at Ban Vivanh's!

This was such a lovely place to stay. Great location, you had to cross the river to get into the town but was all very easy. The room was spacious and had a balcony looking over the river towards the town! Vivanh was such an accommodating and lovely woman, helped us to organise our time in Luang Prabang and went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. It was pet friendly and her cat was so sweet and affectionate! We were able to do alms one morning with her mother and neighbours which was a beautiful and incredible experience that we both treasure.

They have some unique recommendations, are really helpfull and make this place feel like home! The place is located in a green and authentic area on the other the side of the river and has something magical, with the both the view on Luang Prabang city centre and the green surroundings of the river. The room is spacious, authenic and has everything you need (like a small fridge). There are some nice restaurants on a walking distance and you can easily rent a scooter or take a free bike to reach the city centre in 5 minutes. Thank you again for this perfect stay in Luang Prabang!! We’ll definitely come back!

Very friendly and helpful hosts who will make your stay in Luang Prabang an unforgettable one. Rooms are very clean and cute. Great vibes! 🙏🏻💕

Quaint and very comfortable. Very pleasant staff but with limited English (French fluent by owner.) A very nice room and super comfortable bed. Unfortunately at the time (12/2023) there's refurbishing being done beside the place and waterfront. It's a 10 minute walk to the ferry to cross the river. Outstanding breakfast!

Nice 8 room hotel in a quiet location next to a small River. Note that limited English is spoken (grandmother speaks fluent French) and it's quite a walk to the main town. It's a 6-7 main walk to a boat which takes you to the main town (5000 kip) which saves 30 mins but does not start until 10am. It includes a good breakfast and 2 reasonable restaurants are within walking distance but are not as cheap as in the main town. Note that they can pick you up at the airport and have bikes to borrow

Coffee shop
Tingkham Guest House is a must-visit in Luang Prabang, Laos. Guests rave about the unique tea with milk made by the staff, which has become a reason for some to return to Laos. The guest house's central location in the old town makes it convenient for exploring nearby attractions such as the night market, king's palace, and river boat trips. It's a place that lingers in visitors' minds and beckons them back once travel restrictions are lifted.
This place is really a gem. Staffs and facilities: The staffs are really kind, helpful and friendly. It provides water, coffee, Ovaltine and bananas which you can eat anytime. Rooms: We stayed in a 3-single-bed rooms with a shared bathroom. It is in the basement. The room is clean and the beds are cozy. Location: Just next to the riverside and a few steps away from night market.

Very well located in Luang Prabang. The rooms are clean and nice. The managers can provide you with bookings for scooterd which is nice and essential in Lao.

Great location and great price. Short walk to the river, the Alm Giving Passes by every day. The staffs are very helpful and bed is comfortable. AC works well. Will recommend to friends visiting LP!

Very nice staff and great value for money (great to have coffees & fruits unlimited) but the bed was sooo hard that we had to sleep both of us in the single bed in the room because the mattress was too hard on the double bed… & the WiFi is not working well Perfect location ☺️

My favorite guesthouse in Luang Prabang! Super budget-friendly and perfectly located within the UNESCO-listed peninsula, tucked away on a quiet alley yet within walking distance of the main road, the most important temple, and the night market. The staff are kind and welcoming. The rooms are simple but cozy, with a warm and authentic feel. I’m already looking forward to going back!

We stayed one night. The location is perfect. Directly in the center. We received a room with three beds. we are two people meaning that we got plenty of space. That was really nice. Unfortunately the mattress of the double bed was so freaking hard that we ended up sleeping in the small bed with cozy soft mattress (we are in our late 20s and it was to hard for us). When it comes to the payment we have to rate 1 star or less. The owner wanted more money than we booked via booking. The payment was cash only but the exchange rate from the owner was an absolute dream exchange rate. 1 usd = 23.000kip (20.700 real rate, and accepted everywhere in Lao). The exchange rate has never been that high and she was totally uncooperative (“my guests have to pay this exchange rate”). We don’t want to pay this and gave her the money with real exchange rate. Unfortunately we didn’t had the right money so we payed 1usd more. She agreed.

Sabaidi~ This place was the best for me. The tea with milk made by the staff here is a taste that cannot be tasted anywhere in the world. I've been to Laos twice because of this taste. I know she doesn't remember me. In my mind she will continue to be there when Corona 19 is over, I will go to Luangplabang again for her tea with milk.

Fantastic and helpful staff with a wonderful setting. Clean and well maintained, pool is great with plenty of loungers. Room is well equipped with outdoor seating. Is walking distance to nightmarket and all sights worth seeing in Luang Prabang. A special thanks to Bed for looking after us! 10/10!

Lovely and cozy hotel. We enjoyed our stay with a real friendly and welcoming team. Reception team were always cheerful and supporting. Pool view wa definitely worth it. Spacious clean and vivid room. Authentic Lao breakfast and international option. Reliable internet speed was an added value for a digital nomad! And one big extra point isnthe location nearby all attractions and night market within a walking distance yet it's in a quiet place. So you can enjoy it all. Definitely will be our favorite option to stay in Luang Prabang.

A very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Pool was lovely to swim in after a bit day sightseeing. It's well located and easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast was OK but you can go out for breakfast if you want too.

had a wonderful stay at Sunrise Hotel Luang Prabang! The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, always ready with a smile and great recommendations around town. The location is perfect , peaceful yet close to the night market and river. My room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with local touches that made it special. Plus internet speed is amazing suitable for digital work 💙 Definitely a great value for money and a place I’d love to return to next time I’m in Luang Prabang. Highly recommended💙

We had a 5 night long stay at this hotel during our trip to Luang Prabang. The hotel offers various room types including triple occupancy with double bed and single bed (which we opted for) as well as family rooms which aren't offered by many in and around Luang Prabang. The location is extremely close to the famous night market....5 mins walk away. It's located in a narrow lane just off the main road. Rooms showed signs of aging and they need a revamp. Bathroom had a foul drainage smell throughout our stay which were in line with other reviews of previous guests who stayed here. Breakfast spread is okay with two local delicacies and the usual egg preparations. What stood out for us during our stay was the staff be it housekeeping or restaurant staff all of them were extremely helpful and catered to most of our requirements. The view from most of the rooms are basic and the pool area is okay. Restaurant is only open for breakfast no other meals are served throughout the day.

🤓Location is fine. 3-5mins walk to night market, but to see morning alms or to biggest temple you need 15-20mins walk. 🧐Room: I requested to change the room due to bad smell from toilet, at first they reject but i forced them come over my room to feel the stink smell they are ok to change the only remaining room for me. That room at the corner of the pool should not be served!! 🤣Beautiful toilet tile

Sunrise Garden Hotel – Disappointing Stay We booked to stay at Sunrise Garden Hotel on the 15th of July and had planned to return for another night on the 18th. However, after our initial experience, we decided to cancel the second stay. Despite its strong rating of 8.6 on Booking.com and a prominent search listing, the hotel fell short of expectations. The rooms were tired and in need of maintenance—our shower was unclean, and the wallpaper was peeling. While the pool was decent, the surrounding gardens were unkempt and lacked care. Breakfast was particularly disappointing—easily the worst we encountered during our travels and certainly not what you’d expect from a 4-star property. For our second night in Luang Prabang, we chose a different 4-star hotel. Not only was it cheaper, but it offered a significantly better experience: more spacious and well-maintained rooms, attentive staff, and overall better value. We recommend exploring other accommodation options in Luang Prabang. This one did not meet the standard we were hoping for.
Nick G — Google review
The value for money was really poor. The reception staff was friendly, but the rest of the team seemed tired and unmotivated. The room was partly dirty and still showed clear signs of the previous guest. Breakfast consisted of five dishes, all of which were already cold. Overall, the stay was unsatisfactory – I would not come back.

Vangsavath Hotel Luang Prabang ໂຮງແຮມ ຫວັງສະຫວັດ is a charming colonial-style hotel offering bright rooms and complimentary amenities like breakfast, local shuttle service, and loaner bikes. Situated at Ban NongKham - Phetsarath Road, the hotel has garnered high praise for its exceptional value and attentive host, Pinkie.
This is a place that is beyond what you are paying for. Pinkie, who runs the hotel, is an amazing host. She will do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable and at home. She will make everything convenient for your stay. The hotel provides many amenities: breakfast (upon request), a comfortable, clean, calm, and quiet environment. They will book all of the most popular excursions for you with pick up and drop off straight from the hotel. There is a shuttle service that brings you in and out of town…which is very nice for your times exploring the night market. They even have bikes that you can use, completely free of charge!!! Truly beyond worth what you are paying. The rooms are clean and have a very home like environment, very similar to a bed and breakfast. Of course it is not a 5-star resort, but they treat you like you are at one! There is air conditioning (that actually cools the room), they have a laundry service, and provide fresh drinking water every day. My only complaint is that the bathroom isn’t perfect…but at the price you are paying…IT IS SO WORTH IT! I have never felt more welcome!
Kristen B — Google review
Authentic Laoation hotel. Filled with wooden furniture floors and ceilings, very colonial. Owners "Pinky" and her mother have spent time and money to build up this hotel, having recently added a nice new swimming pool. I have also learnt that plans are to add a new Spa amongst other things within the next year. So things are definitely looking positive for them. After my activities today of a walking tour of Luang Prabang and seeing temples with my guide Ling...a pool is a good place to unwind and cool down. The breakfast selection, you are asked to provide a list of what you like, I wasnt expecting everything I'd ticked off on the questionnaire...I wont need to eat for a week 😊. Obviously plenty of food is provided. Able to exchange currency here also. Hotel on the main road to Town centre. So many markets and artisan shops to entice you to spend a little on memory making.
Christine Q — Google review
We decided to stay at Vangsavath after reading positive reviews about Pinkie and the service she provided and we were not disappointed in the slightest. Pinkie and the rest of the staff at the hotel were amazing! We found the location to be great as it’s within walking or cycling distance of the night markets and restaurants but not right in the thick of it that you get all of the smoke/smog at night time. Pinkie offers free bicycles to rent as well as a shuttle bus service for what is only a 20 minute walk. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful and really just could not do enough - she even saw us walking back to the hotel on our first evening and picked us up on her way back! Pinkie also helped us arrange a day trip to Kuang Si Waterfalls which was extremely helpful. The rooms are clean, well equipped and have a nice balcony/outdoor seating area which we enjoyed in the evenings. We found the hotel to be good value for money. Thank you for a wonderful stay (and we hope you found the missing cashew nuts 😂)
Ebony — Google review
Myself and my backpacking week long romance stayed here for 3 nights… and what an amazing 3 nights it was! Pinky looked after all of our needs, from assisting us with the happening in the town, to organising our Minibus to our next adventure. The hotel features a second to none pool with complimentary towels which felt like they were woven by the gods. They also provided us with two state of the art bikes. This enabled us to soak in the deep rooted culture of the town, as well as saving our bacon in the early hours of the morning when visiting the alms giving ceremony. I cannot recommend this place any more for you, your family, or your backpacking romance.
Conor A — Google review
We were planning to stay for one night but extended for two more nights because we loved it so much! Pinky was the most amazing host and made us feel so welcome. She gave us recommendations on where to go, we could take bicycles for free and there is a free shuttle to the night market. The pool is incredible the beds are really good, there is a smart tv so you can watch Netflix, a fully stocked mini fridge and fresh towels every day. Even after my stay when I accidentally left my card in an ATM machine I could message Pinky and she helped me find the right resources to get it back. She’s honestly the nicest person ever. Thank you so much for our incredible stay!

Beautiful old colonial house, which has been tastefully extended and recent pool behind. Owners incredibly friendly and helpful, with good English. Free shuttle bus to night market. If we get a chance to return to Laos, will definitely come back here.
Trevor P — Google review
We had an awesome stay in this hotel. Hotel is perfectly located and there is a shuttle to drop you off at the night market! The highlight of the hotel is its breathtaking swimming pool. Extra credits for the host she will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Wonderful stay! I originally booked 2 days extended to 4. My host Pinky and her mother are accommodating and delightful. The hotel is a quaint French colonial located not far from the night market. A shuttle is offered in the late afternoon. You might also consider downloading Lao's Uber called Loca. If you tell Pinky the menu you would like the day before they will shop and have it ready the next day. Now, the pool! A brand new chlorine free beautiful pool. Great in the afternoon. They are also working on a garden that is coming along well. Have a great stay!

Sadakham Hotel offers an excellent and memorable experience with its top-notch service and friendly staff. The beautiful garden provides a serene environment to unwind after a day of exploring the city, and the complimentary bicycles make it easy to visit various attractions. The cozy rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, with convenient amenities like a refrigerator and kettle. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the fantastic restaurant, featuring fresh local fruit.
A good and nice hotel in the middle of Luang Prabang. The room is nice and big, with a really comfortable bed, AC and a mini fridge. The bathroom is also spacious with a shower with warm water. They provide bathrobes and slippers as well. Staff is really helpful although their English is not that great. They try though, but for example they thrice brought the wrong breakfast dish. In the end it was all fine. The pool is also nice to have.
Marc H — Google review
The main problem with this hotel is that it is over-rated. The rooms are below basic, with much needed care to be given. The neighbours love karaoke, the louder the better, and it is not just the one time. All the pool side rooms are stuck to each other and the pool, so you will enjoy your neighbors' second hand smoke, their speaker phone conversations, and their podcasts, as they enjoy their balconies. Breakfast is ordinary and lukewarm, but lots of fresh fruit. I would not come back here.
A. M — Google review
No towels except for pool towels even tho picture on website shows hand and bath towels, toilet would not flush, ants in the room. Breakfast was a joke. Ordered pineapple milkshake which was served lukewarm and tasted like it was just sugar added to pineapple juice. Banana pancakes had no banana and were dripping in grease. Completely unedible. The only redemption in this room was good air-conditioning and comfortable bed.
Ahealthycupofcoffeecom C — Google review
Stayed 1 night at Sadakham Hotel on Setthathirat Road, Luang Prabang. The hotel is well-located, close to the city center and easily reachable by tuk-tuk or motorbike (cars have limited access). There is a small pool between the two hotel buildings, but it’s not very spacious. We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room, which was comfortable, clean, and equipped with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, electric kettle, and a private bathroom. The hotel is small and quiet, ideal for a short stay or solo travelers. Breakfast was included, but it’s not a buffet — you place your order from a limited menu, which was adequate but not extensive. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing clear instructions about check-in and nearby areas. Overall, Sadakham Hotel is a convenient, peaceful, and reasonably priced option in Luang Prabang, perfect for travelers looking for a quiet stay in the city.

Second floor room for 3 persons. For the price you pay and what you get you almost cannot complain. However the bikes where lousy and the pool really small. Location great and staff friendly

Beautiful rooms, excellent facilities, delicious breakfast included. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I loved it so much I extended my stay by an extra night. Extremely affordable for such a nice hotel. Would definitely recommend.
Jack L — Google review
Very friendly staff, really comfortable bedrooms, the pool was nice, okay breakfast, helped us book onward travel and motorbike hire. The only bad thing was the staff forced us to give 10 starts on booking.com, so we weren’t able to give an honest review. We didn’t like this.
MW — Google review
SCAM ALERT! – Upon arrival, the owner (Mr Phan) took a picture of our Booking.com confirmation, which contained both the reservation number and PIN code. He then used this information to log into our booking and post a fake 10/10 review on our behalf. Since the review was submitted in anonymous mode, we cannot edit or remove it ourselves. This is a serious abuse of trust and a clear manipulation of Booking.com’s review system.

Villa Wanika Luang Prabang is a charming hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. The location offers tranquility while being conveniently close to the river and main street. The rooms are clean, though some may find them small, and the mattresses are on the firmer side. Guests can enjoy fresh croissants and fruit in the morning, along with coffee and bottled water. The hotel also provides storage for luggage after check-out.
Stayed here last November 20-23, 2024. Staff were nice. Room was clean and comfortable. The croissant and coffee were also super nice. Location was very near the Mekong River sunset cruise so it’s very ideal. The staff also helped me to book a transfer going to Luang Prabang station (LCR). Appreciate the help and will definitely stay here again given the chance.

I wasn’t very happy with this place. I paid $40 per night, the highest rate of my entire stay in Cambodia and Laos, yet got the smallest room. The shower drainage system didn’t work, and the faucet was leaking. On the positive side, the room was clean, and I received fresh towels daily. However, I booked a taxi to the airport for 150k kip, but they forgot, so a staff member ended up taking me on a scooter—far from ideal. Overall, it felt overpriced with subpar service.
Jan S — Google review
The bed was very stiff and I didn't sleep too well. The place and location is good. Breakfast is croissant and tea or coffee. Croissant was surprisingly good. So, ate a few and came back for more. Location is good too.

Friendly English speaking staff, felt really welcome instantly! And makes communication so much easier when you have questions. Very clean fresh room, if you open the woodwork, you get enough light in the room. Location is great near center, but calm, you can watch the alms ceremony from the hotel. Very tasty croissants and pain du chocolat, with some bananas for breakfast. They offer cold water for free. Hard beds, topper available, stayed 4 nights and loved it, just a cosy place and in July it was just very good value for money.
Diana V — Google review
The staff is gentlemanly and competent in assisting us in planning our visit to the site, as well as providing some crucial information to help us save money. The daytime crew is intelligent and always smiling, which makes us feel relaxed and comfortable. The accommodation is clean, and the balcony is a relaxing place to drink or eat. The air conditioner is powerful, which is important when the temperature exceeds 38...I will definitely recommend that my family and friends stay there. The location is fantastic; any big attraction is within 5 minutes.
Chih-Ming C — Google review
This place was AMAZING! Perfect location, far enough from the night life to offer tranquility, yet it is one block from the river and two blocks from the main street. The room was gorgeous. Staff was extremely accommodating. Fresh complimentary croissants and fruit available every morning, along with coffee and bottled water. The monks walk past your room each morning as per ritual. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Jules L — Google review
Very friendly and helpful staff in the hotel. Good location, the room is clean. I liked that hard mattress because that's suitable for me (you need to talk to staff, if you want to softer mattrass) Cons The room is a bit small and it lacks such thin like a proper wardrobe where you can store you clothes.
Vance S — Google review
Bam and Ai are lovely. Bam was so nice to accommodate our requests including a topper for the mattress and a room on the upper floor (although, subject to availability!) We appreciated the croissants in the morning, the location (everything is walkable), and Ai’s cheerful Good morning every day. They let us store our luggages after check out. Really grateful for their hospitality. Just some things to note, but it didn’t deter from our 5 stars. If you are a light sleeper, the rooster may wake you up in the early morning. Wifi signal is not the strongest when everyone is using it.

Villa Thida Mekong Riverside offers a pleasant stay with attentive staff and a convenient location. The hotel is situated just 100m from the main street and temples, making it easy to explore the area. While some rooms may not have certain amenities like towels, fridge, or electric kettle, the overall experience is positive. Guests can enjoy breakfast at a nearby riverside cafe with beautiful views of the Mekong River.
Enjoy my stay at this place. Old house turned into accommodation. Very polite staff in the reception. You can depend on him on any information and help you need regarding your stay and other plans. The breakfast was with a restaurant located along the riverbank. Recommended!
Roldan G — Google review
The hotel is across the street from the Mekong River, about 20 meters away. When you first arrive, the name of the accommodation is written in small letters on the door, which can be confusing. The hotel staff are very friendly, and the room is cleaned every day. Since it is close to the Mekong River, you can always go to great cafes and restaurants. A short walk from the hotel leads to the main road where the night market in the old town is held. Starting around 4 PM, vendors line up along the main road preparing for the night market. There is also a street market at the night market, so you can buy a variety of foods at cheap prices. When you enter the hotel room, you see a room made of wood, just like you saw on TV, and the deep reddish-brown wooden floor feels unfamiliar and familiar at the same time. The queen-size bed is very large and soft, and you fall asleep right away when you lie down. It was great that there was always hot water in the shower space separated by a glass wall, which was convenient for showering. I thought this hotel was very affordable, so I recommend it.

Nice basic room. Bathroom has no ventilation and has a funky smell. Other than that, no complaints. Free breakfast on the river is nice.
Xai S — Google review
It was OK... wouldn't return. The rooms are very basic and it felt dirty. The wooden floor is sooo slippery. Also the amount of moths at dusk that swamp the place inside the lobby, hallways and rooms was enough to scar me for life. I was hysterical I have no idea how it got into our room but there was 50 odd buzzing around everywhere. We didn't even have windows or doors open. They eventually went but I was so close to leaving the hotel then and there.

Well located, quiet, excellent shower. Good wifi and aircon, clean. One of the better guesthouses at this price point.

Quaint little villa close to Mekong riverside and lots of restaurants and cafes. Our room was on the first floor, spacious, and came with complete amneties. The daytime manager was polite and very helpful in arranging tours and transportation. The breakfast is very basic, but the view and coffee makes it worth it. The housekeepers came and cleaned the room and changed towels everyday but i didnt see the change the sheets at all for 3 nights in a row, which was odd.

I’m leaving this feedback not as a guest who stayed, but to share my personal experience after my confirmed booking ( Booking .com ) was cancelled just three days before arrival. Mr. Shouhai Wei, Hotel Manager, explained: “We are profoundly sorry that an unforeseen technical oversight has led to this situation. Upon reviewing our system, we discovered a scheduling conflict caused by an operational error during platform synchronization. Regrettably, this resulted in our inability to accommodate your stay on 14–15 April as originally booked.” My booking fell during the Lao New Year—a very busy time—which made finding alternative accommodation at the last minute very stressful. Although Mr. Wei offered assistance with relocation and proposed I move to his guest house later in the week, the trust had already been broken. I declined, as the only guarantee was his word, and further research around this property revealed this exact issue had occurred before. I can’t speak about the accommodation, service, or facilities, as I didn’t stay—but I hope this review helps others be aware of the potential ‘scheduling conflicts’ and plan accordingly.

Nice Small guest house, Great staff! The lady - She’s always at the reception table. Good manner and helpful Perfect location! Not too close to the market (it’d be too loud) Surrounded by good restaurants! Have refill water station for free, hot water, tea and instant coffee are also available for free. Provide daily bike rental , our was old bike (cheap price) but you can request for the new one too, don’t forget to take video of the bike when they drop off.

Great hotel but DO NOT do your laundry here! The hotel itself is very nice—clean rooms, well-equipped facilities, and a friendly welcome. However, our experience with the laundry service was terrible. They completely bleached our clothes, ruining many of them. When we asked for a refund, they initially refused and reacted very aggressively, even shouting at us and blaming us for the damage. They ended up refunding the laundry cost (which was only $4), but this was nothing compared to what we lost. To make matters worse, after seeing our review, the staff came banging on our door and yelling at us again. Four days later we came back and they accepted to refund a small portion of the cost if we remove our bad reviews. If you stay here, enjoy the hotel, but absolutely avoid their laundry service!

The owners are friendly and help with any request I ask. The rooms are decent compared to other places I stayed, and a little bit cheaper too so I see this as good value. The air con was adjustable (not adjustable on other places I stayed in Luang Prabang). Good internet. I rented the motorbike from here too, they gave me the standard price which is about $8USD per day. They make sure you're safe and looked after and urge you to take photos of the bike before you go so no disputes later. Keep in mind it is customary they keep your passport while you rent the motorbike out. English, Lao, Chinese and Thai language are spoken by the host so you should be ok. Although their english isn't perfect it's good enough for most communication. For anything we didn't understand, we just used Google translate to communicate. Overall good stay. Thank you!

NOT RELIABLE ! We booked a room for 3 nights and the owner cancel the day that we came. Just at the beginning of the Light festival when everything is full... It was hard to find another place for 3 nights. I don't recommand to book here to avoid any bad surprise !

Guest house
Khongkham Guesthouse 3 is a budget-friendly option that offers exceptional value for travelers. The rooms are clean and come with amenities like air conditioning and TV. The staff is friendly, and the guesthouse features a balcony with a river view. Additionally, it has a good location within walking distance to popular coffee shops, markets, and the palace. Despite the slightly outdated decor, guests can enjoy comfortable beds and clean bathrooms.
One of the best places we stayed on our whole trip! Not sure why other reviews aren't better. Yes, it's cheap, but an exceptional value. The room was clean, the staff was super friendly, and there is a balcony with a view of the river! Wifi was fine, shared bathroom was clean, and the architecture was interesting. We are a picky group and we checked out at least five or six other places before deciding to stay here--we were so happy we did. For budget travelers, this was the best option and it wasn't close.

(Translated by Google) Excellent value for money (100,000 kips for a double room, 50,000 each). At this price, the decor is outdated. However, the beds are comfortable, the room is equipped with air conditioning (although old) the bathroom is dated but is clean. No bugs in the room - unlike other establishments. The Wi-Fi is good here. The family that runs the establishment is caring.

(Translated by Google) Good room prices for light-hearted people. traveling alone Got a room at the end with its own bathroom. Air conditioning, TV is enough for 1 night of rest. Good location, walking distance to famous coffee shops or black markets, including the palace. (Translated by Google) Old-fashioned room, bathroom very limited but clean. But finally, finding a Guesthouse in Luang Prabang without cockroaches, intimate, cheap (100,000kip per night), with good WiFi, and clean is so rare that this place is really worth it. We are really with a local, with a family (so we have to respect that), and it is very pleasant. Very close to the center too.

The Wisdom Laos Hotel, formerly known as Ammata Guest House, is situated in the heart of Luang Prabang Old Town, making it an ideal base for exploring the area's major temples, restaurants, and night market. The hotel offers clean and basic accommodations with a helpful English-speaking staff and inclusive breakfast. Additionally, it provides amenities such as a restaurant, parking, rooms with kitchens, and laundry services at affordable prices starting from $23.
Warm and welcoming, the Wisdom Hotel was beautifully clean and arranged. I loved all the elegant woodwork! The linens and bed were comfortable. Owner was so kind and accommodating to help us arrange our train tickets and taxi. I would love to return ❤️.

I booked a superior room which is advertised as 26 sq.m. The room I got was 20 sq.m. at best, which is likely their standard room. So I did not get the room I booked. After checking in, there was no slippers available in the room while it is available for others (which I only found out later). The process of checking in was also problematic as there was not reception. I had to wait for at least 10-15 minutes before someone showed up. I called the number on the door, and it rang at the reception I was at, so it was not useful either. This was also not an isolated incident. There were other times that I was looking for help from the reception and there was no one there. The hotel needs to have more staff available rather than have one person doing everything.

A wonderful, well maintained hotel with friendly staff. In addition it is just 100 feet from one of the local wats in front of which monks collect their daily alms between 5:30 and 6 am.

Hotel
Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang, the Luang Prabang Charming Boutique Hotel offers a serene retreat with traditional wooden architecture and modern amenities. The 3-star hotel provides comfortable air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private bathrooms. Guests can enjoy personalized a la carte breakfast and take advantage of complimentary bike rentals to explore the city. The friendly staff ensures a warm welcome and excellent service throughout your stay.
The hotel designed in a traditional style, almost entirely built of wood and equipped with everything needed. Nice breakfast was included, they cook it by your order, no buffet provided. Reception and all other staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, I truly felt welcomed there. As for downsides, I’d mention the fact that the rooms are not soundproof at all and you can always hear very clear what’s going on in the next room (this is probably a consequence of the walls to be thin and wooden). Overall, I recommend staying here, especially for the price they charge.
Mikhail — Google review
We booked six nights but ended up leaving after just 4 nights. The rooms were very dusty and the daily clean was basic. We used the kettle on first day and an object, later found to be a plum stone came out of the kettle. The bedsheets and towels were old, and had some disgusting looking stains on them. This place and Lakhangthong Boutique Hotel appear to be one and the same. Name boards next to each other and shared staff. The building is traditional wood built and dividing walls are thin, have gaps to let light, dust and noise through. The road outside is busy from dawn to dusk so you can hear the traffic and smell the exhaust fumes. The place had several PRC tour buses turn up every night between 8 and 1030 pm. You can hear the buses empty, the guests then make a tremendous noise checking in, and then hang around reception or on terrace smoking and talking loudly. The smell of cigarettes is all pervasive and everything ends up smelling like an ashtray. We reserved rooms through booking.com, paid cash on arrival and then after 2 days of our stay the booking was cancelled. The male receptionist just laughed this off when I showed him on my phone. Breakfast is very basic and served in reception area amongst the other chain smoking guests who are, as usual, shouting at each other. The room description when i booked was: Non smoking throughout. A lie. Soundproofing Another Lie. Carpeted. Yes, a lie. Soundproof rooms. Yep. A huge lie. Spa Bath- Not in our room. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SLEEP, HEALTH OR HEARING.
Chopper — Google review
Not worth the money. Room itself is ok. But the bathroom is old and smells badly. Probably from the pipes or bad ventilation. Very poorly soundproofed. You can hear every step and word from the neighbouring rooms. Directly next to the street. So a lot of traffic noise as well. There are better guesthouses to stay in Luang Prabang. Not recommended.
Carolin B — Google review
Dreadful. Dirty inside and out. Noisy from Traffic and other residents. The whole place stinks of cigarette smoke from the other guests who smoke in their rooms and communal areas even while eating. Avoid this place.
Chopper A — Google review
Not good at all...front desk agent lied to me and took my phone from me. He canceled my reservation (without my permission) from my cell phone and then tried to charge me a higher rate. A lamp made an exploding sound in the room and there was so much dust above closet and on TV set for me to know the room had not been thoroughly cleaned in years. Avoid this place or you will regret it!

Namkhan View Luangprabang Resort offers a magnificent view of the river and deluxe rooms, making it a truly splendid place to stay. The rooms are clean, with beautiful views and good service at affordable prices. Although there have been some concerns about the advertising and dining options, the staff is noted for being nice and friendly. Guests have enjoyed activities like kayaking and have found the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating during their stay.

Nice place, but no one stays in this hotel, poor advertising. No chef at the restaurant, no menu, girls can cook only what they have in the kitchen. No nice coffee even, only nescafe. Only nice and friendly staff. Kayaking was great. Wish the luck, and I hope the hotel will be upgraded soon.
