Island
Nature & Parks
Ti Top Island is a small but picturesque island in Halong Bay, known for its crescent-shaped beach at the foot of a mountain. It's a popular stop on many cruise itineraries, offering stunning views from the central vantage point and a tourist-friendly beach below. While it can get crowded due to the influx of tourist boats, arriving early in the morning allows for a less crowded experience and an opportunity to hike up around 400 steps to reach the viewpoint gazebo.
This is a beautiful island that we visited as part of our Ha Long Bay cruise. It has over 400 steps to climb, which can be quite challenging, but once you reach the top you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the bay.
Mohamed A — Google review
A relatively new beach with great views all around. The climb up to the top of the hill was steep, but you get one of the best views up there! The only big issue was the immense crowd around the beach area, from the various cruises. There are just too many tourists around to pick a spot to chill. Visited in April 2025.
Paul C — Google review
What an amazing place. Natural beauty at its best. This island offers a small beach and hike to the top (decent climb) gives amazing views of Halong bay. the beauty memory is forever entrenched in my mind.
Manish _ — Google review
Ti Top Island is a must-visit spot in Ha Long Bay. The climb to the viewpoint is a bit of a workout, but the panoramic views of the bay with its limestone karsts and turquoise waters are absolutely worth it. The beach at the base is small but perfect for a quick swim or relaxing by the water. It’s a beautiful combination of adventure, scenery, and relaxation — a highlight of any Ha Long Bay trip.
Cyril T — Google review
A worthwhile stop in Ha Long Bay for its iconic viewpoint and quick beach break, hiking but timing matters to enjoy it comfortably. But had a good time
Anil G — Google review
Ti Top Island is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ha Long Bay. I enjoyed swimming at its beautiful white-sand beach and climbed the 400 steep steps to the summit for breathtaking panoramic views of the bay. It was hard work to climb on a hot and humid day, but the stunning scenery made it well worth the effort. At the water’s edge were more of those unsafe, wet, narrow and steep stairs (no railings) that most people needed assistance with in order to get off and back on the boat (us included). The views were very nice but really not worth that much effort for so little time we had here which was only 20 minutes! The small beach was over-crowded with tourists from other boats as well as from ours (the Symphony). With the smaller boat we sailed to this island located a short distance from the cruise ship. Downstairs is a small sandy beach where non-walkers can enjoy the beach while the others take the +- 630 stairs up to enjoy the view over the bay.
Prakash N — Google review
I advise against visiting this island; it's a prime example of the disaster of mass tourism. The beach reeks of gasoline, and the water is polluted with gasoline and trash. Good luck getting to the viewpoint—not that the hike is difficult, but it's so crowded you have to queue just to move one step, only to end up crammed in at the top and unable to enjoy the view because you're blocking other people's photo sessions. This island has no appeal whatsoever. Tourists are packed in like sardines, and for goodness' sake, enjoy the view with your own eyes and live in the moment instead of visiting places just to take perfect photos for social media. It's so sad...
Lou — Google review
A crowded 400-step staircase leads to the top of Ti Top Island in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. The beach here attracts large numbers of excursion boat tourists. The view from the summit is excellent. Over development is a concern as the area's popularity has led to increasing numbers of excursion boats coming here.

National Parks
Cát Bà Island is the largest island in Ha Long Bay and is known for its diverse natural ecosystems, including marine and terrestrial habitats. The island is home to a national park that covers about half of its area, providing a sanctuary for the highly endangered Cat Ba langur. With limestone karsts, tropical forests, coral reefs, mangroves, and more, Cát Bà boasts high biodiversity.
The main best attraction is an overnight cruise to Lan ha Bay and Ha Long Bay. Recommend going with Cat Ba Ventures. You may also want to spend an overnight here before the cruise or afterwards. (downside is that there is a lot of trash and debris in the water which is disturbing as a “westerner”. There appears to be no effort by the government to require the local operators of the day cruises or the local fisherman to keep the water clean. Vietnam should follow the example of the Philippines in Palawan, where the beautiful waters are treasured, and the scuba diving and snorkeling is phenomenal.) We stayed at the Moon Boutique which is affiliated with Cat Ba Ventures. It’s very cute hotel and reasonably priced with a very good breakfast. Cat Ba Ventures will also arrange for your transportation from Hanoi or Ninh Binh/Tam Coc . However, if your budget is a bit higher, consider staying at the 5 star Perle d’Oriente hotel, which is adjacent to Cat Co 3 beach with a lovely pool, a nice beach, a full pool side bar. Just a note, there is a lot of construction going on by Son world of a huge hotel complex with a man-made beach and yacht Harbour, which commenced in late 2024, and as I understand, it is scheduled to be a five-year project. But if you take the cruise boats, you will not see or be bothered by the construction.(Moon Boutique does look out on the construction. The five star hotel, Perle does not. )
C N — Google review
Construction going on atm until 2030 at the front but if you take scooter you see beautiful beaches and coast - it’s just one part of the island when there’s so many other wonderful treasures that the island offers
Zuzanna K — Google review
Lots of construction on main beach - no access to beach and a sky full of cranes….id give this place a miss till they finish the work over the next 5 years. We stayed long enough to do a bay day tour (excellent) but the vibe on the main drag sort of ruined it we left a day early
Drinkwater F — Google review
I excepted more, but Cat Ba island is not really what I thought. Everything in the main island is quite basic, constructions, overpriced restaurants, not good quality seafood (some still nice but not all),… Only thing I can enjoy more is going to see the sea with the boat tour: nice sea with sunny light, you can take nice pictures and can go swimming there too, visit some caves bypass,… Think 3 days is enough to visit there.
Thanh L — Google review
Amazing experience in my life time . Thanks for preserving it . Enjoyed each and every moment starting from yatch cruise , swimming , banana boat ride
Shalif A — Google review
I really like this place very beautiful and peaceful, on the main island of Cat Ba there is a small town, but quite modern. People here live by seafaring and tourism, they are trying to catch up with the hustle and bustle of tourists from outside arriving on the island. However, the service here is not always good, when experiencing the restaurant here you should pay the price before ordering.
Thiep P — Google review
A picturesque place. Peaceful calm, ideally for both couples and family. Best part is it is also very budget friendly. You can spend a week in less than 500 dollars for a couple while staying in good hotels and good food
Aamir M — Google review
Island itself is a big disappointment, noisy, dirty and nothing as tropical island. Full of tall ugly resorts. Good part is that can experience Ha long bay on more quiet setting than from Ha long itself one day or 2 days small cruise. So on night on the island is max.

Sung Sot Cave, also known as Surprise Cave, is one of the largest and most popular caves in Halong Bay. Visitors can explore its two chambers filled with impressive rock formations that resemble various objects and creatures. To reach the cave, tourists must climb 680 steps through lush greenery, but the breathtaking inner views make it worth the effort. The cave is illuminated with colored lighting and offers guided tours for an enhanced experience.
This is an incredible natural wonder, but be ready for large crowds - especially during peak hours. The cave features stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations, dramatic chambers, and well-lit pathways that make exploring easy. The tour is well-guided, and platforms allow you to safely enjoy the incredible rock formations. While the cave is beautiful and impressive, the number of visitors can make it feel rushed and less peaceful. If you go, try to visit early or later in the day for a slightly quieter experience. Still, it’s a must-see highlight of Halong Bay!
Sai V — Google review
We visited these caves as the last stop of our tour, and they were absolutely breathtaking. The rock formations were stunning, especially the final cave, which, according to our guide, is over 10,000 square meters in size. It was also noticeably cooler inside compared to the outside heat, making the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely worth it!
Mohamed A — Google review
The cave itself is stunning and huge. One of the biggest i've seen. Pretty incredible what mother nature can do. However, the place is overcrowded. We were there in low season and queues were reallly big. Tons of ships arriving one after another.
Joanna Z — Google review
Sung Sot Cave, also known as Surprise Cave, is the largest and one of the most breathtaking caves in Ha Long Bay. The scale of its rock formations is incredible, with stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and vast chambers that will definitely surprise you. It’s a dry cave, making it easy to explore on foot, though the path includes a few moderate climbs. As you exit, you’ll enter the Royal Garden, a beautiful area with a serene lake and lush greenery. A visit here is a must, especially since this site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. (watch my videos to see the beauty of this place)
Tanzim K — Google review
Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave in Ha Long Bay is a must-visit attraction that truly lives up to its name. The cave features massive chambers with dramatic stalactite and stalagmite formations, beautifully lit to highlight natural details. The walk inside is smooth and well-guided, with multiple viewing points offering stunning scenery. As you climb up to the entrance and exit, the panoramic views of Ha Long Bay are spectacular. Best visited in the morning to avoid crowds. Overall, a breathtaking experience showcasing nature’s beauty and one of the highlights of any Ha Long Bay cruise.
Anil G — Google review
Sung Sot Cave is an impressive natural wonder in Ha Long Bay. The cave is spacious, with stunning stalactites and stalagmites that make every corner feel magical. Walking through the illuminated paths gives you a real sense of the scale and beauty of the formations. It’s well-maintained for visitors, and the guided walk helps highlight the unique shapes and features. A fascinating stop that adds adventure and awe to any Ha Long Bay tour.
Cyril T — Google review
Large cave formation, a lot of steps. Good biodiversity and ecosystem (outside cave). Can see rock formation with made up imagination on what it looks. Nonsense but OK. Crowded. Long line.
Tyu J — Google review
Excellent Guided Tour for Sung Sot Cave by Guide Ms. Rosy Madam . Explained each and every thing about the Cave. Far back history for the Cave and many Natural Limestone reefs formation inside the Cave. Need hiking. Always recommended Sports Shoes to visit. From the Above observatory deck at Caves great view of cruises sailing in Ha Long Bay. Natural beauty is excellent.

Bodies of Water
Bai Tu Long Bay is a picturesque destination featuring Bái Tử Long National Park, boat tours, and numerous small islands. It shares similar geographical features with Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay, such as limestone pillars, karst caves, and turquoise waters. The best way to experience its beauty is through day cruises or overnight junks, exploring tiny islands and towering limestone cliffs while stopping for cave exploration, kayaking, and swimming on pristine beaches.
Serene, peaceful and tranquil. Bai Tu Long Bay is absolutely beautiful and worthwhile venturing out to. There are hundreds of mountains around the bay protecting the waters with some with caves you can trek into. Kayaking around this bay around sunset is unreal.
Hendy O — Google review
Further north and east of Halong Bay so fewer day trippers. More secluded yet as beautiful as Halong Bay. Tip: if you can spare the time, a 3 day 2 night boat trip gives you time to appreciate the magnificence of this World Heritage area to the fullest
Te L — Google review
Bai Tu Long is a beautiful area protected by hundreds of islands. The scenery is tranquil and out of this world. I have never seen anything quite like it. I highly recommend a longer 3-day - 2-night cruise to escape the massive crowds within Halong Bay.
Erica C — Google review
Less tourisy than Halong Bay. If you want to get away from the busy and hustle Halong bay, this is area to come. Hundreds of islands here that has no one around and very few boats. Limestone islands shooting up from the calm Emeral color ocean, whether it’s day or night, the beauty of this area is spectacular.
The A — Google review
Bai Tu Long Bay is a coastal bay located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. It consists of hundreds of small and large islands and is situated within the Gulf of Tonkin, in the northeastern region of Vietnam. Bai Tu Long Bay encompasses a sea area belonging to the cities of Halong and Cam Pha, as well as Van Don island district. The bay is bordered by Halong Bay to the southwest, Cam Pha city to the west, the sea to the east, and Co To island district to the northeast. The history of Bai Tu Long Bay is closely intertwined with the heroic chronicles of the Vietnamese people. It is associated with the place name Van Don, a bustling seaport since the time of the Ly dynasty. Nearly 900 years ago, it was a lively trading hub attracting merchants from Champa, China, Japan, India, and other places for exchanging goods. Bai Tu Long Bay is also a place to commemorate the glorious achievements of General Tran Khanh Du and the three Pham brothers (from Quan Lan village), who defeated the fleet of the Yuan Mongol invader Truong Van Ho in 1288. In addition, there is the Cua Ong Temple (also known as Suot Temple) located on the bay, dedicated to Hung Nhuong Vuong Tran Quoc Tang, the third son of the revered Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan.
Duy N — Google review
Bai Tu Long Bay is part of the famous Halong Bay. It is located northeast of Vietnam, at 165 km from the capital Hanoi. The bay comprises approximately 1,600 islands and islets, which forms a remarkable panorama of limestone pillars. Most of the islands are uninhabited. The site’s outstanding scenic beauty, the area is rich with geological magnificence. I suggest everyone not to let local travel agents confuse you about Halong Bay vs Bai Tu Long Bay. They are both part of Bai Tu Long National Park and both part of the pristine Heritage, both bays stand right next to each other and they shared outstanding beauty. Bai Tu Long Bay occupies ¾ of Ha Long Bay. The natural views were magnificent, I loved every minute of it, going from island to island, and enjoying nature! Loved it; we were even allowed to go ashore for a little while to enjoy swimming and relaxing in a small but beautiful beach. In the evening, i truly enjoyed a stunning sunset.
JennySkyIsTheLimit — Google review
Beautiful bay, very quiet compared to Ha Long Bay and just as scenic, although the small beaches were somewhat dirty, so we couldn't get a good swim until we got to the day boat, after kayaking. We visited it the second day of our 3 days and 2 nights cruise to Ha Long Bay. We only saw two other day boats along or nearby, which made the experience very relaxed. The kayaking was a bit harder than the first day in the fishing village, due to the waves and more open waters, but had some incredible views.
Leonardo G — Google review
We had an unforgettable experience on on overnight voyage on the Treasure Junk. We had one of the two suites, which aren’t much more expensive than a normal cabin but totally worth it. Regardless of the tour company and boat you chose it’s a similar itinerary of kayaking, cooking class, tour of floating village and plenty of time to soak up the stunning views. What sets Bai Tu Long Bay aside from Ha Long bay is that it’s quieter, with less boats taking the standard route, and so you are more likely to get some amazing photos without another Junk sneaking into your picture. We found the food to be amazing with several courses in each meal, as well as friendly boat staff and a totally brilliant tour guide, booked through Hand Span tours in Hanoi. We did the one night trip and it felt about right... we wanted more but might have found day 2 to be repetitive, although I could have sat on deck and enjoyed the stunning views all day! Book this and you won’t regret it ;-)

Bay
Lan Ha Bay is a stunning destination with a secluded atmosphere, featuring boats, beaches, and small mountainous islands. It's becoming a popular choice for sailing excursions due to its pristine and less-crowded sightseeing routes compared to Halong Bay. The area offers picturesque landscapes and numerous caves to explore, such as Luon Cave, Sung Sot cave, Trong Cave, Tien Cave, and Trinh Nu Cave on Bo Hon Island.
Lovely bay for kayaking and swimming. Less touristy than Ha Long Bay and definitely not so crowded. Lovely sunset. Highly recommended to visit ☺️
R L — Google review
We discovered Lan Ha Bay, a less crowded alternative to Ha Long Bay, offering a serene escape for couples. The majestic limestone karsts rising from emerald waters create a breathtaking backdrop. We enjoyed relaxing, swimming in secluded lagoons and exploring hidden caves. The area's colorful culture is evident in the floating villages, where we observed local life. With fewer tourists, Lan Ha Bay provides a more intimate experience of Vietnam's natural wonders. It's an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility and unspoiled beauty in a romantic setting. We paid the tour 650k from our Hotel: The Wave View Hotel. Tour starts 8.30am and finishes at 5pm. Lunch included, plus kayaking, swimming in caves, monkey islands, etc It was great, I'd recommend it!
Vic — Google review
A wonderful place and a MUST visit if you are touring Vietnam. The Bay area is well organized but not much of a wonder… But if you take the cruise to go around towering islands and spend one night at least on water you will have a wonderful experience worthy for a lifetime. I really enjoyed it. We joined BlueDiamond Cruise. Their hospitality was great and the facilities and activities were very nice. I’m really happy that I joined this trip. Will definitely go there with my family once again. I saw many families with small kids and disabled persons visiting the area taking cruise ships.
Warshi D — Google review
Personal impression is that Lan Ha Bay is more beautiful than Halong Bay. The bay is located approximately 30 km from the city center. It is situated to the east of Cat Ba Island and serves as a connecting link between Cat Ba Island and Halong Bay. From the ferry terminal on Cat Ba Island, it takes about 30 minutes to reach Lan Ha Bay by boat. The bay spans an area of over 7,000 hectares, with more than 5,400 hectares falling under the management of the UNESCO-recognized Cat Ba Biosphere Reserve - Cat Ba National Park. Lan Ha Bay has a curved shape, surrounded by over 400 different small and large islands. The name "Lan Ha" means "orchid" and symbolizes the beauty bestowed upon the world. While it may not have as many islands as Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay stands out with its 139 small sandy beaches such as Ang Vem, Cat Dua, Cat Co, Ben Beo, Co Tien, Van Boi, and Van Ha. Lan Ha-Cat Ba Bay is located in the northern tourism region, so the weather here experiences all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season has its own unique and poetic beauty. Depending on personal preferences and schedules, visitors can plan their time to explore this place accordingly.
Duy N — Google review
This is no longer bay!! They have built over the water and is currently (september 2025) a building site, to be a resort. Very disappointing, no bay, lack of care for the locals and their businesses
Chloe K — Google review
Beautiful sightseeing! Glad they still keep it clean and natural. Take a boat, go around, take some nice pictures, watch the local fishing village, kayaking and swimming under the sunshine. Recommended to go on winter to fully enjoy the bay in peace.
Anh V — Google review
Amazing island. We have book a tour from Kitetravel with 15$/person. The tour starts from 8:30am and finish at 4:30pm. The first go to Monkey island and hike to the top for great view. After that go around Lan Ha bay and try kayak and having lunch. Unbelievable price! The tour guide is good English communication and supportive. No more cost required. This tour is a half price compare with Ha Long tour, but the view is more amazing.
Ho T — Google review
A few nautical miles away from the Cat Ba Island, lies the wonderful bay yet to be fully explored, and less crowded, and to a large extent can be called an alternative to the world famous Ha Long Bay. Half-day and full-day packages starting from VND 500,000 are available from Cat Ba Island, and there is a very small beach inside where one can spend an hour or so apart from enjoying the breathtaking views of the bay. One must take a group tour to go here, and it will include the cost of permit. As one passes from the water, one gets to see the sui generis rock formations, and as one goes deeper the hidden caves start coming into the picture. The caves are generally small and need a small boat to get through, and ideally the best way is kayaking, and it's worth the try. Sometimes the water gets shallow while traversing through these caves, and the width becomes narrow with rocks on the way such that there comes a possibility of banging the kayak on the rocks ( although it won't hurt at all ). The waters at times seem to have a bit of litter, and upon inquiring I was told that it comes from Ha Long Bay. If you go further and further, you enter the Ha Long Bay, but a full tour of the same cannot happen in a day from Cat Ba Island.

Tuan Chau Island is a developed tourist destination with a variety of attractions and recreational activities. The island boasts a 2km stretch of beautiful beach and has invested in numerous amenities for visitors, including a dolphin club, crocodile circus, Vietnamese cuisine options, villa clusters, 5-star hotels, water recreation areas offering activities such as parachute canoeing and high-speed jet-skiing.
Peaceful, clean and not too crowded. Luckily most of the tourists are concentrated in the center, this area does not have many services but that is good for those who prefer a simple pace of life.

Had lovely experience at this ha long bay cruise , did overnight cruise . Very interesting caves to visit Good views all around Morning they allow you to do kayaking at designated spot . One can do trekking and swimming on one island . Must visit place .
RAKESH D — Google review
Tuan Chau Island was our second stop after Hang Luon, and I can confidently say it’s a must-visit destination. The highlight here is the massive limestone cave — an extraordinary natural wonder. The stunning formations inside the cave are truly breathtaking and worth the experience. However, a friendly but important warning: if you’re not ready for a bit of physical effort — like walking up steps, going through a long cave path, and getting down into the island — think twice before getting off. Once you step out, the cruise won’t wait. It will sail to the other side of the island to pick you up. That means you must complete the entire walk through the cave to reach the exit point where the cruise will be waiting. So, make sure you’re physically ready for a bit of walk, but totally worth it!

smooth transaction from the start. changing messages and inquiries, from their facebook page to downpayment slot. we booked a 2 days, 1-night stay on the Signature Cruise for our Bai Tu Long trip, an itinerary filled with activities like exploring caves, kayaking, relaxing on white sand beaches, and participating in a cooking class... thanks to our guide "morning mor ning" for being helpful and nice.. the captain of the ship was so humble, and all crew staffs are nice polite and courteous. and also very lucky we got a very nice weather!

Andy and his team were fabulous! We had a trip with 1 night on board! We did not visit the main Halong Bay but some islands aside - wonderfull as only few boats were there. The first day we used canoes to go swimming, made spring roles and had a very tasty dinner. The rooms are clean, big and comfortable. The morning started with Tai Chi and a cave tour before we had breakfast heading back to the port! Overall had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much.

2 nights 3days magical Baitulong Bay. The food, activities, room with bathtub & balcony , service are all great. Special thanks to Mr Morning & his team, especially Megan for her patient & encouraging guidance in our kayaking adventure. Thank you for the photos & videos.Wonderful cruising enjoying mother nature - amazing karst & birds (so many ospreys). The little flag of our home country on our assigned table serves as a great ice breakers for fellow travellers. Able to make new friends as the numbers of passengers are small.

The staff made EVERYTHING just so perfect. They always had a smile and were willing to help with anything you need. The rooms were set up super nice with a jet tub and balcony. We were in our anniversary and the staff surprised us with cake and roses and it was such an amazing surprise! The food was good but could use some updating. Megan was the best tour guide! Highly recommend this ship!

Monkey Island, also known as Cat Dua, is a picturesque spot in Halong Bay. It boasts lush green hills, rugged cliffs, clear waters, and white sandy beaches. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing on the pristine private beach or engage in activities like swimming, snorkeling, sea kayaking, and hiking along scenic trails. The island is home to wild monkeys that add to its natural charm; however, it's important to maintain a safe distance from them.
Beautiful spot with breathtaking views. Went with our tour guide and got to see many monkeys up close. I found some shells that I kept as well. I recommend good waterproof hiking shoes because the way up is through jagged staggered rocks! Stay as hydrated too because the climb can get intense.
Ailee N — Google review
You’ll see monkeys and you can go to a secret viewpoint at the right of the beach. Take good shoes.
Jérémy S — Google review
Went there wirh a guided tour. Monkeys will greet you on the beach. We visited in February, where very little people visited the island. Great experience was also climbing the mountain peak on the island. The way up is a little sketchy but the views are worth it. Climb up is approximately <1h. Can recommend.
Simon K — Google review
Climb up to rock. It’s the best view. It is pretty challenging and you do need good shoes not flip flops. I wore water shoes it they worked perfectly. If you are afraid of heights or not into free climbing up some jagged rocks to reach the top then I wouldn’t recommend it. It is also really hot up there so take water. The island itself is nice. We spotted a few jellyfish lurking around in the water, so we were very cautious with our swim there. It is nice for sunbathing and the sand is super soft. The prices are pretty expensive so I’d advise taking water beforehand.
Claudia T — Google review
Non-native monkeys dumped here to entertain tourists… Cruel place. You’ll swim through oil slick in the water to a beach covered in plastic. The monkeys have been fed by guides to become accustomed to humans. Someone was attacked and bitten in our tour group. Tourists torment the monkeys and the guides do nothing. A very sad sight and a sour way to end our boat tour. Avoid this place and boat tours that take you there.
Harris D — Google review
The view point is really good with great view. Be aware that the climbing is not easy, and I will recommended avoiding from coming with flip flops. We came at around 14:30 with the organized boat tour, but this is the time all the boat arrives and it really crowded. It took me 40 to get to the top, while I was standing and waiting most of the time because the path is very narrow
Gil T — Google review
Beautiful island! You can climb to the top (better to have good shoes !), and have this beautiful view of the Bay ! No monkey (just 3 near the restaurant). We were alone, so peaceful!
Fanny P — Google review
There is a viewpoint, located in the south of the island, to which you have to hike up for around 20 minutes from the beach. The way is mostly crowded, which also slows you down. Stones are very sharp and the way gets harder, the further you walk! Way is almost only steep but after 5 mins you can also see the bay already, if you don’t want to climb up all. I‘d say, the way down takes a bit longer and is much more dangerous so watch out:) I really recommend to bring and wear closed shoes, cause it’s much harder and dangerous on these rocks with flip flops. The view on the very top is amazing and you can see all around!(: When you arrive at the beach you can see a lot of monkeys that are very clever!:D Watch out for your stuff and better don’t feed them... The island is very crowded in general and has a place to buy snacks and drinks:) Enjoy!

Bảo tàng Quảng Ninh is a contemporary museum that showcases the rich history, culture, and natural heritage of Vietnam. The museum's notable architecture and extensive exhibits offer visitors an immersive experience into Vietnamese culture, history, and nature. Situated near the heritage bay, it provides an ideal opportunity for tourists to delve deeper into the region's unique mining culture and explore various stages of Quang Ninh province's development.
It was a good 2 hours spent here was about to come in the morning but saw that it was full of excursions so don’t come in the morning I came back in the afternoon and was very empty lots of space for pics and loved the overall museum vibe simple but nice with lots of things to see 40k per adult you can pay directly by zalo or at the kiosk.

Quang Ninh Museum impresses with its modern architecture, unique black exterior, and beautiful check-in spots. Inside, the exhibits are well-organized into themes like history, culture, and nature. Digital technology is applied to make the visiting experience more engaging. However, some exhibition areas lack interactivity and need better maintenance. Overall, it’s an interesting destination with reasonable ticket prices and a nice relaxing space.

Quang Ninh Museum is a fantastic destination with stunning modern architecture and a diverse range of exhibits. The displays effectively showcase the rich history and culture of the Quang Ninh province, including interactive installations and a life-size coal mine replica. With a reasonable entrance fee, it's a must-visit for anyone in Hạ Long City! Highly recommended!

Too crowded. Can’t see much as the crowds will be pushing you from behind and there are tons of people behind. So can’t stop to see the display and just keep moving forward. In out in 10 mins

Quang Ninh Museum is an intriguing destination for those interested in exploring local culture and history. I was impressed by the collection of valuable historical artifacts and insightful information on display. However, the museum could benefit from better organization and space utilization. Some areas seemed a bit disorganized and lacking in cleanliness. Hopefully, in the future, the museum will be managed and arranged more effectively to enhance the visitor experience.
Khanh D — Google review
This is good location for children and tourist as well. Quang Ninh museum is symbol destination with black square shape, from far, this looks like the "black diamond" of Quang Ninh province. 3 floors connected by escalators between floors, with AC- cool inside the building. There is a very suitable destination for a tour to avoid hot weather in the afternoon before enjoying the great sandy beaches in sunset later. Counter to buy ticket is outside, front of Museum.

There are two night markets in Halong Bay! Though not massive, both offer a variety of goods Ha Long Bay Night Market and Halong Night Marke these markets open at 6 pm and 7 pm, respectively. Both with similar items on sale, they're perfect for an evening walk and shopping spree. From local crafts to souvenirs, and we even found the"branded" shirts, there's something for everyone. Plan to spend your night here and soak in the bustling ambiance of Halong Bay! 🌟🛍️🌌

Waste of time. Nothing like what TripAdvisor describes, no local crafts (only plastic rubbish and copies of Nike etc) no good food. Very disappointed

Not Recommended. It's 7:30 pm, 10k parking fee. Only us and a handful of tourists were walking in this night market. Finish walking the whole place in 3 minutes. Most of the stores look closed permanently, only about 10 remain open. As expected, everything is overpriced. If you decide to eat nearby, please expect the same experience. Depressing 😥

Mon Cheri Cruise Terminal is a top-notch and luxurious cruise that sails to Lan Ha Bay, offering a more serene and less crowded alternative to the popular Ha Long Bay. The staff's attention to detail and professionalism are exceptional, from the warm welcome to special surprises during dinner. The spacious Ocean Suite Triple cabin can accommodate three people comfortably, while the well-managed schedule ensures smooth transitions between activities and meals. Guests praise the stunning views from their balconies and appreciate the lush surroundings of the location.
This the terminal Mon Cheri cruise leaves from. I am reviewing this terminal and the boat in this post . The terminal is clean. The staff is very nice and they are extremely efficient. They offer basic drinks and there is a small shop behind the shop if you want additional food or drinks before you board the boat shuttle (about 45 mins to the main boat). There is indoor and outdoor seating. There are toilets here as well. There are also several shops nearby. We bought a bottle of wine to take on the boat. You can drink your personal liquor in your room. As for the boat… We weren’t sure which cruise line to select because there are so many. Halong Hub helped us select this cruise ship based on our desires, and it was a great choice. We had a wonderful time. The crew was excellent. We particularly loved Roy, who took care of us in the dining room. He has a wonderful personality and made sure we were taken care of. The food options were great, and all of the food was very good. The boat is in good shape. We decided to splurge and book the Presidential Suite. It was well worth it. We had the entire front end of the boat which worked perfectly because our son and daughter-in-law had another room. They were able to spend quality time with us in our room and on our own deck.

We had an unforgettable experience on the Mon Cheri Cruise in Ha Long Bay, truly one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam! Just two days before the cruise, my partner and I got engaged, and the staff made our stay feel extra special. During dinner, they surprised us with a beautifully decorated table and a fun singing ritual that made the moment even more memorable. Everything on board was perfectly organized, from the activities to the meals. The food was delicious, and we were especially well taken care of by Ann, who served us during dinner. She was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and warm. Thank you for teaching us a few Vietnamese words along the way, that made it even more fun! A special thank you also to Tam, who made sure everything ran smoothly. I had a really lovely conversation with her and felt a genuine connection. The way she treated both me and my fiancé was heartwarming and sincere. We absolutely recommend Mon Cheri Cruise to anyone visiting Ha Long Bay. Thank you all for making this such a meaningful and beautiful memory for us.

We were six people (5 adults and 1 kid) and had an amazing experience. We booked 2 rooms — Room 303 (a big family room) was so good that we didn’t even want to step out! Everything about the process was smooth and comfortable. As vegetarians, we were delighted that they prepared special meals just for us, which made the experience even better. If you’re in Halong, this is a must-do. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect — especially Ann, who ensured we had everything we needed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from us to Mon Cheri!
Bhawneet K — Google review
Joined the 2 day 1 night cruise and overall had a good experience. The food was halal with plenty of options, and the kayaking was the highlight of the trip. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff could have been a bit more attentive as they did not seem very engaged at times. The cave visit was quite short and not particularly interesting. It rained most of the time, so I could not try the rooftop putting golf, which looked fun. Despite a few downsides, it was still a nice and relaxing cruise with beautiful scenery.

What a fabulous little cruise! Can’t speak highly enough of the staff on board. Always willing to help, very friendly and wonderful hospitality. We originally booked the Peony boat but were upgraded to Mon Cheri’. We stayed for our honeymoon and were made to feel very special. We did the two night cruise. Jacuzzi was great and dinner was always a highlight! Special shout out to Gin and Cherry! Thank you for a great time!

The cruise is simply perfect, a huge room. They made sure the food was kosher, sea bass and a baked potato wrapped in 3 layers of foil, a bowl of vegetables and fruit. The service is amazing and the treatment is worthy of all appreciation. We had a waiter named Harry who took care of all our needs. Simply amazing, a 5-star vacation.

The experience has in Mon Cheri cruise (boat #2) has been phenomenal. The cruise had just the right number of guests and staff. The ocean suite provided to us had a private deck with a massage chair. It was quite a luxurious experience for me and my wife as we feasted on the numerous options of amazing sea food and other culinary delights. We received every kind of support from the staff, each one of whom were polite, very friendly, very gracious (Roy, Jasmine, Hannah to name a few). Not even once did we feel uncomfortable, even before our first kayaking experience in the beautiful calm waters of Lan Ha bay. The boat was extremely spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. All over, this 2 day 1 night experience in Mon Cheri cruise exceeded our expectations. One of the best hospitality we have experienced.

Mon Cheri Cruise stay was a delightful surprise. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and felt more like a modern hotel suite than a cabin. The amenities were top-notch, and the nightly turndown service was a lovely touch. Having a private balcony made all the difference; waking up to the mountains and bay morning .The dining experience was phenomenal. From the casual, elaborate buffet options to the specialty restaurants, the quality of the food was consistently high. We especially enjoyed the elegant atmosphere and personalized attention making my Birthday memorable in the main dining room. Staff service is amazing specially Miss ANN FB supervisor in Restaurant

Dau Go Cave, also known as the Cave of Wonders, is a limestone cave in Halong Bay, Vietnam. It is the largest among many caves in the region and is located on Driftwood Island. The cave's name translates to 'Wooden Stakes' in Vietnamese due to its historical significance during the Mongol invasion of 1288.
Amazing place with so many stories, of course made up stories. The cave is beautiful, huge, and clean. The tour guides explain the stories in detail. There are many photo spots, these are utilised well because it's mostly moderately crowded. There are some shops selling drinks, snacks and souvenirs, nothing pushy during my visit.

This cave is located in the Halong Bay area, you need to climb a fairly high staircase to get there. The view from the top of the cave is also very beautiful with a view of Halong Bay. The atmosphere inside the cave is quite dark, but at some points there are colorful lights shining on the cave rocks. There are quite a lot of tourists visiting, since there is no entrance ticket.

Prepare to climb a few flights of stairs. This cave is very welcoming to tourists, focusing more on the views rather than the physical challenges of entering a cave. The cave is well-lit, paved, and safe. No life-threatening route.

Đá Gô Cave in Vietnam is a fascinating natural wonder that combines impressive geology with a sense of quiet mystery. Located in the heart of Ha Long Bay, it is one of the lesser-known caves compared to its famous neighbors, making it a rewarding stop for those seeking something more tranquil. Inside, visitors are greeted by large chambers with dramatic stalactites and stalagmites shaped over millions of years. The rock formations resemble animals, mythical creatures, and abstract sculptures, sparking the imagination of anyone walking through. Soft lighting highlights the textures and colors of the stone, enhancing the otherworldly atmosphere. For photographers, Đá Gô Cave offers unique opportunities. Wide chambers allow for expansive shots, while close-ups of mineral details reveal intricate patterns. The contrast between shadow and artificial light creates moody compositions, perfect for those who enjoy experimenting with low-light photography. Outside the cave, Ha Long Bay’s emerald waters and limestone cliffs frame the entrance beautifully, adding a striking natural backdrop. Though less crowded, Đá Gô Cave is easy to reach on most boat tours around Ha Long Bay. It provides a quiet escape from busier attractions and invites travelers to slow down and appreciate both nature’s artistry and the peaceful environment.
Paul P — Google review
Amazing place! The cave is very large, beautiful, and truly unique. I didn’t expect such an extensive cave system. It's also quite accessible for older visitors, even those around 60. Unfortunately, it was very crowded when we started going up. We were almost at a standstill for about 30 minutes at the beginning, with occasional progress of 1-3 steps at a time. The views are exceptional, and there are some great, unique souvenirs available for purchase.
KaramjaHead — Google review
So overcrowded there must have been 2000 people all turning up at the same time all the your boats somehow think it's a good idea to bring everyone to same attractions at same time as we left there was nobody going in if they just went to the three activitiesin a different order then it might have been enjoyable but felt like we were cattle - also be warned if U don't like inhaling desiel fumes all day long cos the air is terrible my eyes and throat hurt too

🌿 Cat Ba National Park – Amazing Experience! 🌿 Cat Ba National Park was absolutely amazing. The hike up to Ngu Lam Peak was a bit tough at times, but 100% worth the effort. The views from the top were out of this world – lush green mountains, deep valleys, and scenery that feels untouched. If you’re visiting Cat Ba Island and enjoy nature or hiking, this is a must-do. Just bring water, good shoes, and be ready for a climb. Totally unforgettable experience!

Of you want to enter the Walking area, tot need to buy a ticket (120.000), it is also the entrance fee for the caves 1km from the entrance. The park is old, but the nature is beautiful, the "zoo" has some rabbits, Ducks and other easy animals, they don't look happy. The walk to the top is steep, hot and slippery, but real Vietnam jungle and worth it.

It's possible to hike the trek alone without a guide to Viet Hai Village, but the path is challenging, good shoes, fitness and hiking experience would be good, some bits need to be climbed and throughout thick jungle, watch daylight hours! Takes about 2-3 hours. Ask the woman by the first restaurant after the path ends for a boat taxi back to cat ba, her sister will come pick you up in a small old fisher boat at the harbour 4km away from the village (1 hour walk), best experience to see the iconic islands and floating fisher village without some overcrowded tourist boat tour.
Luisa P — Google review
Good for an hour or 2! Hike was not too difficult, any able bodied person can do it. We did it in 45 minutes (me and 2 kids) and there were loads of other children. Bring water as you cannot buy any after the start of the walk (there is a small restaurant at the start, but nothing after that). Long sleeves or trousers not needed I'd say (too hot) but mosquito repellent definitely yes. Beautiful view over the surrounding area. The entry fee is low and includes Trung Trang cave a little further down the road (1 km). There is a small museum with creepy animals, too. Kids loved those ;-)

The food was phenomenal. So many courses & they catered especially for my husbands dislike of seafood with tasty alternatives. Some of the stops are very crowded but it's to be expected. Our guides were patient & again looked after us so well. Our 2nd day was our favourite we were taken off the boat to a great day boat to explore Lan Ha bay which is much quieter / sea so much cleaner for swimming. Leo needs a special mention for assisting us to an an ATM in organising a taxi to take us back to our hotel & make an additional stop on route. This was above & beyond & most appreciated.

Hòn Đỉnh Hương is one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring natural wonders in Hạ Long Bay, Vietnam. This striking rock formation, known as the Incense Burner Islet, rises majestically from the emerald waters, almost as if nature itself sculpted a monument. It’s a symbol of strength and serenity, balancing delicately despite its towering appearance. Viewed from a boat, Hòn Đỉnh Hương stands out against the tranquil bay, offering a perfect photo opportunity with its mystical silhouette against the horizon. Legend has it that this stone relic represents the incense burner of ancient Vietnamese kings, evoking a sense of reverence for the beauty and history of the region. A visit to Hạ Long Bay wouldn’t be complete without admiring this captivating islet. The sheer wonder of seeing this natural marvel, surrounded by the stillness of the sea, leaves a lasting impression. Definitely one of the highlights of any tour through this UNESCO World Heritage site!

Cruise was great watch out for the crew though they try to charge you 4x the price for the kayak tickets and pocket the profit. It was only $50 000 dong they tryed to charge me $400 000 and said “the captain had to purchase them” false information, lies watch out for them

We embarked on the Victory Star Cruise for a 3D2N experience in Halong Bay, staying in Room 203 from January 5th, deluxe room with balcony view. Overall, we were highly impressed with the cruise and its operations, despite encountering a few minor setbacks. Highlights The room we booked was a double bed and was clean, well-maintained, and aesthetically pleasing. However, it turned out to be two twin beds joined together. While common in many accommodations, this setup wasn’t very comfortable for us as a couple, as the beds tended to shift apart at times. Nonetheless, the room’s cleanliness and amenities were excellent. The staff on board deserve special recognition. They were attentive, polite, and always smiling. Each table in the dining area had a dedicated staff member, ensuring personalized service. We were particularly impressed by how the staff accommodated our dietary restrictions, preparing meals tailored to our preferences with great care and attention. The food served on the main cruise was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Areas for Improvement - Day Boat Experience: On the second day, we were transferred to a smaller day boat to visit Lan Ha Bay. Unfortunately, this part of the tour left us disappointed for several reasons: • Dining Issues: Despite our dietary restrictions being noted, food was served on shared plates with another couple at our table. This caused cross-contamination, as the other couple used the same utensils for dishes we could not eat. Although we requested separate serving spoons and clarification on the dishes, these were not adequately provided, leaving us with very few options to eat. The food on the day boat was also not as tasty as what was served on the main cruise. • Kayaking: As first-time kayakers, we struggled immensely. The guide, unfortunately, left with the rest of the group, not noticing our difficulties. We ended up circling aimlessly and even hit limestone rocks, which was unsettling. Assistance finally came from a guide from another group, who gave us basic instructions on paddling. By the time we reached the meeting point at Trinh Nu Cave, we felt overwhelmed and decided not to continue kayaking because we made rest of the group wait for us; opting for a speedboat instead. Final Thoughts Victory Star Cruise itself was exceptional—beautifully maintained with excellent service and facilities. The only significant downside was the day boat experience, which didn’t meet our expectations in terms of food service and support during activities. For travelers with dietary restrictions or first-time kayaking enthusiasts, we recommend clarifying arrangements beforehand to ensure a smoother experience.

Pros :Wonderful experience. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Activities well planned. Scrumptious meals served on board. A big thanks to Daniel & his team Cons: Majority of the staff on board could not communicate in english ! and the cabin size was much smaller than shown on Agoda whilst booking the cruise online though the bathroom was spacious and luxurious.

Nice experience. You’re taken care by the company from the hotel pick up (on their comfortable minibus) to the drop off. The staff is very helpful and attentive (thumbs up to Scott 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻). Not everyone speaks English but there is always someone around who does. The boat is nice and with character, a bit aged but somehow that contributes to the atmosphere. The cabins are comfortable and all have with a nice balcony to look at the beautiful bay. The food is good. Maybe water could be complimentary given that there is a water fountain just outside the restaurant room. The activities are nice and well organized, despite being crowded due to the popularity of the truly stunning destination, but this is not under the company control.

The Stellar of the Seas is a luxurious cruise that exclusively tours the secluded Lan Ha Bay, offering a private and romantic getaway compared to the touristy Halong Bay. The cruise offers various accommodation options with private balconies, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and large windows for stunning views. Guests highly recommend the 3-day, 2-night option and praise the attentive staff members who provide exceptional service throughout the trip.
Unforgettable Luxury Aboard Stellar of the Seas in Ha Long Bay! Our 2-night, 3-day cruise on the Stellar of the Seas was truly one of the best experiences of our lives, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Ha Long Bay. From start to finish, everything was simply exceptional. The food was unmatched—fresh, juicy, and incredibly abundant, with a fantastic variety of dishes. The service was impeccable; every staff member went above and beyond, but our butler, Robin, deserves a special mention. He was an absolute star: kind, resourceful, always ready to help, and incredibly smart. He made our trip even more special! The boat itself is a vision of luxury, yet it maintains a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. Our room was spacious and gorgeous, and the shower room was out of this world—truly a highlight! Evenings were a blast, especially the fun karaoke nights. During the day, the activities on board were varied, engaging, and all-inclusive, keeping us entertained without ever feeling rushed. We can't recommend the Stellar of the Seas highly enough. Spending three incredible days in one of the most spectacular places on Earth was an experience we'll cherish forever!

My girlfriend and I had the most absolutely incredible experience aboard the Stellar of the Seas. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Mr. Tin and Eric are truly exceptional; so thoughtful, caring, and unbelievably attentive to every detail. The views were breathtaking, the food was top tier, and every experience and amenity onboard was simply outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Highly recommend 10/10 to anyone visiting Vietnam, this cruise is unforgettable!

Stellar of the Seas – The Cruise That Touched Our Hearts ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay aboard Stellar of the Seas was truly unforgettable — not just for the stunning Ha Long Bay scenery, but for the people who made every moment feel genuine, kind, and human. Before anything else, our heartfelt gratitude to Tracy (Duty Manager) and Jay (Customer Service), who showed extraordinary compassion and professionalism when I wasn’t feeling well that night. They handled everything with calm and care — ensuring I was safe, comfortable, and looked after. What could have been an embarrassing moment turned into one of warmth, dignity, and kindness. The next day, Tracy’s comforting hug at check-out felt more like saying goodbye to friends than to staff. Throughout the rest of the trip, Han at Reception truly became the heart of the experience. The highlight of our cruise trip. He’s attentive, thoughtful, and carries the loveliest smile on board — the kind that instantly makes guests feel seen and welcomed. His sincerity and gentle presence created a connection that lingers long after the trip ends. Boo, our butler, also deserves appreciation for his cheerful spirit and willingness to help with everything — from serving drinks to anticipating our needs. (He once forgot my food allergy — forgiven 😅 — but his bright energy still kept our experience delightful.) Everyone onboard was kind and professional — but these four people (Tracy, Jay, Han, and Boo) made the very best of Stellar of the Seas shine. From Julie in Sales, who patiently assisted our booking, to every crew member who greeted us with warmth — this cruise felt more like a heartfelt story than just a holiday. We laughed, we learned, and we left with beautiful memories (and a few inside jokes about squids 🦑). The true luxury here is the people. P.S. A small suggestion: adding air purifiers in rooms would be wonderful for guests who are sensitive to airborne dust/particles — it would help prevent waking up congested. Warm regards, Amelia Wu

This cruise was such a great experience! I tend to not like cruises as much, but I think the 2 day experience was perfect. The food was amazing (both Vietnamese and western style) which was a nice surprise and every employee was super helpful, attentive, and kind. I felt like they truly took care of us and always helped us right away. Our butler Eric was also awesome! He took the time to always check in on us and ask us what we wanted or needed. All of the Stellar Seas members/employees were so kind as well during our excursions and during our whole stay. I would definitely recommend this cruise ship and company and I would come back for sure if i come visit Ha Long Bay again! The rooms were also beautiful and very clean. We also appreciate that the cruise never felt overcrowded even when there was a lot of people because of the way their scheduling system works and that definitely made our experience better as well! Definitely will remember this experience forever :)

We were on Stellar of the Seas for one night on 28th October in one of the Junior sweets and had the most incredible time! Everything was perfect, the boat is gorgeous and the itinerary is really fun if you want to participate. It’s all so clean and comfortable + great WiFi. The crew have made the trip even better as they are all so friendly and helpful, thank you! Robin and Tin looked after us especially so well. Couldn’t recommend this boat enough.

Our time aboard Stellar of the Seas was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The ship itself is stunning — beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The food was exceptional, with a great variety of dishes and top-quality ingredients. What really made our trip special, though, was the service. We were lucky to have Dodo assigned to us, and he was outstanding. Dodo went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout the cruise. He was warm, professional, and always attentive to even the smallest details. His genuine kindness and enthusiasm made us feel so well cared for. The excursions were well organized and offered the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. We loved every moment — from kayaking and swimming to simply soaking in the breathtaking views. Overall, Stellar of the Seas exceeded all our expectations. We can’t recommend this cruise enough, especially with wonderful staff like Dodo who make the experience truly unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back!

A truly perfect experience with stellar of the seas. The staff are what really make this so special, we had Robin who took amazing care of us throughout, tending to anything we asked. Everything is so meticulously thought out, so from start to finish everything ran so smooth and they pack so much into the 2 days the value for money is amazing. Ha long bay is so peaceful it is the perfect trip to relax whilst seeing beautiful nature. Everything is very clean from hotel rooms to how the food is prepared you will feel very safe. A highlight for us was kareoke in the evening and tai chi with Tin in the morning, such a nice way to start your morning. Special thanks to Robin and Tin, we really appreciate all your help❤️ We will definitely be recommending to all our family and friends!

Bai Chay beach, the largest in Ha Long, is an expansion of the old Bai Chay beach, now stretching nearly 1km with clean artificial white sand. Accessible via Grab or a walk from Sun World entrance, it offers restroom facilities and stunning views of Halong Bay. Frequented by locals and Vietnamese tourists, it's a great spot for cheap cold beers and relaxation.
“Bãi Cháy Beach is clean, wide, and great for a relaxing day! 🏖 The sand is soft, the sea is calm, and there are plenty of beach activities and seafood restaurants nearby. Perfect for family or friends to enjoy the sunset! 🌅”

The city and beach has a real touristy vibe. All with all the beach was okay. The water was nice and warm and the view on ha long bay is great

The beach wasn't very crowded when we went around 9 am. You can rent chairs for a small fee and there are showers to rinse off (weren't open when we were there). They have a swimming area roped off and the water is really warm.

Beautiful beach with lots of beach bars, but not recommended for female tourists. Me and my friend went to the beach for a normal swim. It didn't take long before the first man approached us (not in English, but presumably in Vietnamese) and after a short time touched my friend on her knee. We asked him to leave several times and finally had to shout at him. After we had moved, we noticed other people taking photos and videos of us. A large group of men were particularly conspicuous as they walked past us one by one, pretending to be on their phones and filming us. After we asked them to stop, they got even louder and shouted "photo photo" after us. We felt really uncomfortable and didn't understand what had suddenly happened. We could not find a Security or similar. I can't recommend going there to anyone.

📍 Easier to get to this beach via a Grab, though my friend and walked all the way from the Sun World entrance. 🚻 There's a restroom available. Not the cleanest but acceptable. Remember to bring your own toilet paper!! 🏖️ The sand is fine, white and absolutely delicious. The view is incredible when the weather is nice. Sadly I came on a cloudy day. ♻️ I thought it was amazing to see a team of Vietnamese women clean the entire length of the beach systematically.

Hon Gai Beach, located in the North of Vietnam, is a well-maintained artificial beach that has become a popular tourist destination. With its 900-meter length and 185-meter width, it offers a spacious area for visitors to enjoy. The beach features fine white sand and clear emerald waters, creating a picturesque setting surrounded by colorful fishing boats. It is known for its tranquil atmosphere and is favored by both locals and international tourists.

A long clean sandy beach with palm trees and a beautiful view of the mountains. The area between the buoys is guarded by a lifeguard. Small seashells sting your feet as you walk so it is a little bit painful. But it is not ideal for swimming. The sea is full of small green algae and there are no showers.

Lunch was small in portion and served cold. The swimming pool was dirty, and the sunbeds were uncomfortable. There were no pillows on them. The route was not as advertised; instead of going to Cat Ba, we went to Ha Long and it was a shorter trip. The buffet food was cold and not very special. They tried to serve Western-style food like spaghetti, but it wasn’t a success. The rooms were very good and, along with the staff, perhaps the only aspects of the cruise that felt five-star. However, note that the beds consist of two single mattresses that tend to slide apart. The staff was extremely friendly and did their best to make the stay as pleasant as possible. There were some enjoyable activities such as kayaking and fishing, which added a nice touch to the experience. However, the gym on board was very small, poorly equipped, and the air conditioning didn’t work, making it uncomfortable to use. We paid $140 per person for a senior suite. It was advertised as a five-star cruise. Perhaps it qualifies as five stars by Asian standards, but definitely not by European ones. The food in particular was far below expectations.

STAFF | Amazing service from Tom & Jerry :) we had a fun time playing games and magic tours. All of our needs were taken care of promptly. Thanks so much, you were so kind! FOOD | sometimes way too much food for 4 people on activities on the Cat Ba Island. About the buffet, the first served lunch is really good but then the self service buffets are redundant and a lot of fried things. Cocktails are really good and not expensive CLEANLINESS | I had to ask for other bedsheets because they seemed grey-ish and stained. Also asked for more toilet paper and towels. Everything was fine about that. The bath is impressive with the window. The pool looks disgusting would not go in it. Overall, it’s not like the American or European cruise lines we usually use, but really great for Vietnam!!!! :)

We had a fantastic experience aboard the Dora Cruise! From start to finish, the staff made sure we were comfortable, well-fed, and entertained. A very special thank you to Ms. Sarah, who was incredibly welcoming and kind throughout our journey. She took the time to teach us some useful Vietnamese greetings, which made our interactions even more enjoyable and meaningful. Her warmth and attentiveness truly stood out and added a personal touch to the whole experience. Also, a big shoutout to Captain Mr. Hill for smoothly steering us through the beautiful waters and ensuring a safe and pleasant cruise. His calm demeanor and professionalism gave us full confidence that we were in good hands. Highly recommend Dora Cruise for anyone looking to explore the stunning scenery with excellent service and genuine hospitality!

Dora Cruise gave us a wonderful experience. It included kayaking, cooking class, and being rowed through a cave, in addition to the beautiful views of the bay the whole time. The boat itself is quiet and the room is well-kept, with a private balcony. Min was a delightful server, and Sarah looked after all of our needs the whole time. Definitely recommend.

Had a great time on a 3 days 2 nights trip. Initially I was thinking of shortening it to 2d/1n but I’m so glad that I did not rush through this area. It is so amazingly beautiful and peaceful and I wish i had more time on the boat. The day went by so quickly and there were a lot of day activities on the boat. Night activities not as much but squid fishing was pretty fun. The warm jacuzzi/ pool is very nice as well and we did participate in the cooking class for a little bit. The a/c in the room is much needed respite and is on pretty much the whole time the boat is on except for when the boat had to reset itself. The WiFi is not very good the whole time but I also had my own internet that I purchased. Ace is my helper waiter and she was fantastic. Sarah the daytime activity leader helped me get an idea of what’s going on around the boat. She’s very helpful! Everyone so helpful and kind. I took the boat with my 8 years old son and there were plenty of choices for food and drinks on the boat. Food is free and water is given during meal time. Other kinds of drinks are extra and you settle that bill on the last day of the trip
Kristin T — Google review
The cruise was amazing. The crew was polite and helpful beyond our expectations especially Tom and Sarah. The rooms were clean and lavish. Our vegetarian food needs were taken care of even without us asking. Activities were ample and fun. The only thing that bothered us was the transportation arranged by the cruise. We understand that the quality of this service is not under their control but they should know. The driver was rude. The AC was turned off both times during the last 30 mins. We had to mandatorily go to a shop during the toilet stop. This shop was deliberately designed like a maze which we had to get through to reach the exit on the other side. This must be common with day trip buses for referral but we didn’t expect it to happen during an airport transfer. Happened both times on the onwards and back journey.
Arnav N — Google review
Not recommended – very disappointing experience I paid over $300 for a 24-hour cruise with Dora Cruise in Ha Long Bay, and it turned out to be one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. During the first meal on board, I found a cockroach in my dish, which completely ruined the trip. The company’s response afterward was embarrassing and unprofessional – instead of taking real responsibility, they offered symbolic “compensations” and even tried to make me sign a paper giving up any complaint in exchange for a small refund. Beyond that, the cruise itself is absolutely not worth the price. Our cabin was located directly above the engine (very noisy and hot), there were very few and very basic activities (friends who took other cruises had far richer programs), and the facilities were poorly maintained – including a dirty pool and an overall neglected feel. Terrible value for money, poor hygiene, and unacceptable customer service. I strongly advise avoiding this cruise.

e had an amazing time on our Orchid cruise. We chose the ‘trendy’ boat and opted for the 2 day cruise. I would definitely go for the 2 day, 3 night cruise, as the day cruise on the second day through the bay with activities was excellent. The ship was just as in the pictures and the service was second to none. We were lucky enough to have Bruno as our table waiter. He was excellent and so kind to the children, nothing was too much trouble and he made our family feel so welcome. Nhung was our tour leader- she was very competent and we were always aware of our schedule and everything ran to plan. The service on ship was impeccable. If you are trying to decide which Halong Bay cruise to do, I would 100% recommend this one. It was the highlight of our holiday to Vietnam.

Lovely experience! Alex and Mel were the most accommodating staff on board. They made everything convenient and comfortable during our stay. Food and activities were amazing! The only thing- the schedules especially on the day we had to leave was a bit rushed- after our walk through the caves, we had 10min to pack and leave the rooms which was a bit rushed. Despite that, the stay was lovely, beautiful views and comfortable living.

Ba Trai Dao, also known as the Three Peaches, is a group of three small islands rising dramatically from the turquoise waters of Halong Bay. Legend has it that these islands were once peaches stolen from heaven by a fairy to grant immortality to a poor fisherman she loved. The King of Heaven turned them into the craggy mounts seen today in his anger. These foliage-covered rocks offer secluded sandy beaches perfect for kayaking and swimming.

Scarlet Pearl Cruises is a modern and boutique cruise experience that launched in August 2019, making it the newest and largest option in Halong Bay. With 23 well-furnished cabins featuring private sun terraces and Jacuzzis, this cruise caters to couples as well as families seeking adventure. Just a short drive from Hanoi or Cat Bi Airport, guests can easily embark on their journey.
Our one-night cruise aboard the Scarlet Pearl was undoubtedly one of the standout highlights of our entire trip to Vietnam! From start to finish, the experience on this boat exceeded all expectations. The cruise itself felt like a luxury getaway, offering a truly five-star experience in every sense. The itinerary was carefully curated, with a variety of exciting activities packed into just 24 hours, ensuring there was never a dull moment. Every meal onboard was nothing short of extraordinary—almost like dining at a Michelin-star restaurant, with every dish prepared to perfection. But what really made the experience unforgettable was the staff. We had an absolutely incredible stay on Halong Bay with my little sister aboard Scarlet Pearl Cruises. We visited in December, and there were very few people, so it truly felt like we had the bay all to ourselves, simply breathtaking! The boat itself is stunning, featuring a jacuzzi and a wide range of activities including kayaking, a trampoline, and delicious cocktails. The staff were attentive, kind, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The meals were exceptional, every meal was a five-course experience, incredibly rich and flavorful. There were plenty of options for vegetarians, which we really appreciated, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Our cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and even had a balcony to enjoy the views. We loved every moment on board, from the luxurious comfort of the boat to the peaceful beauty of the bay. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Scarlet Pearl Cruises to anyone visiting Halong Bay! 🌊

Scarlet Pearl cruise is overall e very good experience, although it is not a cruise as you may think, the scarlet pearl yacht is mainly used as mothership while most of the activities are done using a couple of catamaran. The yacht inside is very nice, we booked a golden room with big window in front of the beds, which was very comfortable, few aspects to be fixed like a hole in a curtain, should not be there in a 5 star boat. Main common areas are the dining room, very nice and spacious, lot of waiters ready to take care of your requests, then there is a bridge with bar and jacuzzi, mostly used during the happy our, the lobby and the SPA in the basement of the boat. The yacht in my opinion should get an extra white painting as it is showing some signs of the time. Apart from that overall all staff is super kind and helpful, it is impossible not recommending this experience.

I highly recommend this Company / Boat / crew & the President Suite ! A truly incredible experience . Thanks to Eric & his crew . Hard working & caring people . I was a little worried about the cost per night for the President suite . It has been one of the greatest vacation’s going to Hanoi & Ha Long bay on the Scarlet Pearl Yacht Every detail was handled positively from making reservations , paying & getting information to be ready . From the hotel recommendations to stay in Hanoi . The amount of room in that suite is bigger than the pictures show . Having the front of the boat deck was awesome . With 2 tables , 3 lounge chairs & private hot tub . The deck could handle 10 people easy if you go with friends . Having a birthday dinner on the private deck was over the top ! With a complimentary bottle of wine & birthday cake was truly a special night ! My girlfriend will remember that for the rest of her life . I can’t say thank you enough to this company/ boat /crew . This was a honeymoon outing for us. A truly phenomenal experience. The fact that we only spent one night aboard is one of my biggest regrets of my life (in this decade anyway). All of the activities on the itinerary—from being rowed through a cave to squid fishing off the bow— are my ideas of top notch fun. The crew members were professional and exceptionally helpful. It’s also worth noting that there were multiple groups on the cruise for ‘special occasions,’ and the crew paid special attention to making all of us feel like we were VIPs.

Scarlet Pearl Cruise offered a well-organized 2-day, 1-night tour, but there were a few things that stood out to me during the experience. To start with, the tour manager, Wendy, seemed “overly attentive” to white couples while noticeably overlooking us as if she had already decided we didn’t need much attention. Unfortunately, this wasn’t entirely surprising, as we noticed “similar behavior” in several places during our Vietnam trip, where fair-skinned guests often received more warmth and attention. The cruise itself didn’t do much actual cruising. Apart from a short sail during lunch on the first day and a brief movement the following morning back to the pickup point, the ship mostly remained anchored. Most activities were done by a smaller boat or catamaran. When asked, Wendy explained that the ship was “too large” to move around the bay though we saw even bigger vessels cruising freely. While exploring Lan Ha Bay by catamaran made sense logistically, the main vessel felt more like a stationary “floating hotel” than a cruise. The 2D1N itinerary was packed with activities to the point that it felt a bit regimented, almost like being in a training program. We decided to skip the cooking and early morning Tai Chi sessions to get some rest. Dinner timing and breakfast timing were also fixed quite strictly at 7:30 PM and 6:45 AM which sometimes felt rushed, though understandable from an operational standpoint. The crew was generally fine, though it did seem that they preferred serving white guests over others. Our assigned host, “Happy,” was polite and efficient but seemed distant perhaps shy, or just not very comfortable interacting with us. Restaurant toilet was dirty and urinal was overflowing making it a disgusting scene too. On the “positive side”, the food was good! the chef truly did a great job. The bed was very comfortable, hot water worked well, though the towels were worn out (I mentioned this on the feedback form & photo is here attached) Wi-Fi was supposed to be available but didn’t work at all during our entire stay even though “mobile data” worked surprisingly well in the middle of the bay. Overall, it was a mixed experience, a good time on the whole, though certain aspects of service and attitude could be improved, especially towards guests of color.

THE GOOD The ship was nice, its more of a floating hotel, doesn’t cruise around much, activities are done from 2 catamarans. i found the food great and our cabins also comfortable. And the staff friendly and always willing to help. THE BAD The drinks are extra and overly expensive! I wonder if all the other boats in the bay do the same tactic? The bay itself has a garbage problem like the rest of Vietnam. The overfishing of the seas is sad, you have to imagine what Halong bay was like with coral reefs & sea-life, before humans.

I recently enjoyed a one-day and night stay on the Scarlet Pearl Cruise in Ha Long Bay, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were beautifully appointed, offering a comfortable and relaxing environment. The service was exceptional; the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. However, I did encounter a couple of issues. The Wi-Fi on the cruise was extremely poor, which was disappointing, especially as many guests expect reliable internet access during their stay. Additionally, on the day of checkout, they organized a brunch. I was surprised to find that I was charged for a cup of coffee, which I feel is unreasonable given that an entire buffet was being provided. It would have been more appropriate for a simple cup of coffee to be included with the brunch. In summary, while I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise experience, addressing the Wi-Fi issues and reconsidering the pricing for coffee during brunch would enhance the overall experience. I would recommend the Scarlet Pearl Cruise, but I hope they can improve upon these points.

Food: all is good, not very impressive, but all is good Drinks: b1t1 drinks is great offer while waiting for the sunset that’s nice. Massage: awesome, I got the hardest hand beating lol. Destinations/Attractions: very beautiful the cave is beyond beautiful, the kayak is also very cool and beautiful, imagine that is only available during low tide, it’s so amazing. From the hotel till we get off, every detail is smooth, you cannot see any trouble from the crew and from the guide, it is very organized. I’m so impressed. Gin tonic is nice. Athena Luxury Cruise at Halon Bay. Boarding time 12 noon. We had balcony room which had all basic amenities including Jacuzzi tub. Cruise sails only for an hour and stops in ocean. Post that by small boat visit to Sun Song (surprise) cave. App. 600 steps and big caves can be visited. Post that at island to swim. But it was not appealing. Very small area at beach to swim. By 4.30PM on cruise. 6PM cooking class and dinner at 7PM. No option to have dinner bit late. Dinner was good. No other activities or music. Next day wake up 6AM and Ligh breakfast at 6.30AM. Again by small boat visit to Hang Luon for Kayaking or rowing. Rowing has additional charge. Back to Cruise by 8.30AM. 9.30AM Check out. And brunch. Again Cruise sail for an hour and back to coast.

All inclusive, except alcohol drinks. But they have happy hour before dinner. Room good, considering it is a cruise. Dinner good, lunch and breakfast average. Price a bit high for a two days one night cruise, but it include the attractions. Pick up and drop off at Hanoi hotel and light lunch on the return.

We had an amazing experience on the Paradise Elegance Cruise! Kudos to the chef — the Indian food was the best I’ve had in years. The service was excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially since the weather was perfect during our trip. The only thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi — it’s only available near the restaurant area, so it would be great if they could extend it to the rooms as well.

Worst service with baseless excuses about (weather) to not board the cruise and no proof provided about official statement from the government about the weather. The staff just told us to wait for 5 hours to just tell us that they cannot allow us to cruise.

The worst cruise ever seen before. If you’re looking for a vacation that will leave you stressed, frustrated, and wondering where it all went wrong, then look no further than Cruise . I thought I was booking the ultimate getaway, but what I got was an absolute disaster. From the moment I boarded, I realized this wasn’t a luxury cruise – it was more like a floating disaster movie. Fantastic cruise!! The staff were amazing and their English was very good. They were so friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide Lam was so funny and great!! Highly recommend this cruise. Only down point is the attractions had so many tourists and very crowded which isn't their fault.
Erin M — Google review
My partner and I paid $450AUD for a different boat and then they switched it for this boat which is pretty old but serviceable. Actually the food and rooms were quite good, but drinks including basics like water and tea are all charged in $USD for extra so just be aware of that. Hot tip, you can BYOB you just have to pay the corkage fee - totally worth it. Our big problem was the lack of coordination and effort by the staff to inform or engage us. Squid fishing was apparently one of the activities offered, but no staff asked us if we wanted to do it so we all missed out (everyone). After dinner most staff vanished. I struggled to get the karaoke machine working for about an hour and never once did staff offer to assist aside from changing the display to English. Eventually I got it going and we salvaged the night with a party around that device, without it there would have been nothing offered to entertain anyone for the evening. But the worst part was the timing of things. They'd tell you dinner was 730pm but they'd serve it at 7 with no notice and you'd arrive at 730pm to a cold meal. Or they'd say you have to exit your room at 10am but at 9:15am they're pushing you out. I'm stating all of this here in the hopes that the staff will read and take action to ammed so this can be a great experience for the next group. Overall, the other travellers you meet are great and the international bonding experience made the trip worth it. The scenery in the bay including the cave tour is gorgeous.

Great experience overall! Staff was professional and polite. Food was good. There were a couple of activities you can join such as hiking, swimming, and kayaking.... Best thing about this cruise is you can enjoy the view of Ha Long Bay at anytime all day. We had a suite room with a private sun deck which gave us more option for relaxing. But I have to mention that the condition of the ship is not very modern or well-equipped. I understand it’s hard for a ship to be like a regular hotel, but water pressure can be too low for a shower especially when other guests are using water, and room air conditioner has to be turned off for the dining area during meal time so your room could be so hot when you return after meals. Not a luxury cruise but it was a great experience for me to sleep on a ship and enjoy the whole day having a world heritage view!
Wakana K — Google review
The trip was very pleasant. The guide was kind and informative, and every activity was well organized and on time. I only give four stars because there are some improvements to be made on the meals, twice (on both buffet lunches) there was not enough fruit for all the guests, and in the breakfast one of the cereals containers was almost empty from the beginning. Still, very pleased with the trip and would recommend for sure.
Tiago F — Google review
Wonderful service from most of the crew, nice places visited, pleasant booking experience with booking agent, excellent food. We were even upgraded to a better room. However, when we lost money on the boat, we were told there was no cctv on the 3rd deck. Manager was not very helpful, and passed the problem to our tour guide who is new. Manager was on the phone all the time and told us that there were no police stations at Halong Bay and to do it in Hanoi. When we reached Hanoi, was told that police stations do not open on weekends (untrue!). After much insistence, went to the police station in Hanoi only to find out that police report has to be done at Halong bay. We were really thankful for the tour guide who helped us to translate at the police station and went beyond his working hours to do this. But after two hours moving from police station to the next, we gave up. So we could not even claim for insurance for the money that we lost. Felt unsafe in the boat overnight. I do not want any other tourists to feel what we felt. A great start, but a horrible ending. Thought that this would not happen from such a reputable company (we actually researched quite extensively!) but it did. We were very disappointed. Pls choose your cruise wisely.
N. H — Google review
Scumbags, thieves you name it. Never travel on this boat. Crack roaches in the room and within the staff. Vile, cheap, disgusting people. Avoid at all costs. Pretending to “help” find the watch that’s in the crews pockets.
Jamie O — Google review
Fairly priced, room is okay, booked the vip room. Only bad part is the air con needs some improvement as the air con will be off when you are dining, they will only turn on the dining area’s air con , you won’t be able to retreat back to your room immediately. Also really warm in the noons.

Fighting Cock Islet, also known as Cock and Hen Island, is a picturesque spot in Ha Long Bay. It features two towering limestone formations that are said to resemble a rooster and hen engaged in a fight or tender moment. This unique landmark is part of the collection of unusual islands in the area, each named after animals they are said to resemble.
Located in the Halong Bay area, this iconic islet features a unique rock formation resembling two roosters fighting each other. You can visit the islet by boat or cruise, and it’s typically included in standard Halong Bay tour packages. A must-see spot for anyone exploring this beautiful region!

A distinctive pair of karst islets jutting out from the calm waters of Halong Bay; the unique Hon Ga Choi Island (Fighting Cocks Island) has become one of the bay’s most memorable landmarks and among the most photographed attractions for cruise visitors. Located right in the heart of the bay, the jagged rock formations loom 12 meters over the water, improbably perched on narrow, weatherworn bases and appearing to lean towards each other.

Sun World Halong Park is a top entertainment complex in the coastal city of Ha Long, offering a variety of attractions for tourists. The park features thrilling rides like roller coasters and a bi-level merry-go-round, as well as a water park for endless water sports. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of Ha Long Bay from the Sun Wheel, which stands at 215m tall. Additionally, the park boasts festive decorations during Christmas and various dining and entertainment options to keep visitors entertained.
We visited Sun World Ha Long Park on a Saturday — it’s a really fun place overall! The park is well-maintained and has a great atmosphere. One downside is that a few rides were closed, but we came mainly for the main rollercoaster — and it did not disappoint! It’s super scary (in a good way), and there’s usually a line for it, so expect to wait around 15–20 minutes. The other rides are more moderate and not very exciting. One exception was the “elephant slide” — a fun idea, and you might get a little splash of water at the end, which adds to the experience. Before going on any ride, they’ll ask you to store your personal items in lockers. Unfortunately, filming is not allowed (and honestly, you probably wouldn’t manage to anyway). For the main rollercoaster, you’ll be asked to pay 80,000 VND for a locker (for 2 people), but they return 50,000 VND when you give the receipt back. All in all, for the price — this park is totally worth it. We had a great time!

I think this is the only other attraction in Halong Bay apart from the cruises. When we were there, it wasn’t crowded, which made the experience even better. Unfortunately, one of the main landmarks was closed due to damages from a typhoon, which was a pity. The park itself has two distinct areas, each offering different themes and activities. I really enjoyed exploring the side that featured traditional-inspired architecture, gardens, and fun activities. One of the highlights for me was trying out some interactive games and activities — it added something unique to the visit and made it really fun. There’s also a temple area with beautiful structures and a large bell you can ring. The climb to reach it is quite steep, though, so it might be challenging for elderly visitors. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I’d say it’s worth a visit if you have time, but if not, the cruises are definitely the main highlight of Halong bay.

A good place to visit. Did not visit the water park, but went to the dragon park (amusement park) and the queen cable car. The cable car offers beautiful views of the nearby areas and the amusement park is also fun (not a lot of rides but still not bad as it is generally not too crowded).
Shreshth G — Google review
Great place to visit with kids. Recommend coming in the cooler months, not peak summer! Very hot to walk around otherwise. Cable car and ferris wheel a highlight!

I recommend going before sunset and coming down after sunset. A place where you can enjoy the sunset and the night view of Halong Bay while riding a cable car. And don't forget to take pictures on the bridge during the sunset.

The biggest park in Ha Long. There are three main attractions inside: the Queen Cable Car, Dragon Park, and Typhoon Water Park. You should check the day you plan to go — Monday to Friday or Saturday to Sunday — because the opening and closing times are different. The park tickets are very affordable and it’s so much fun

Went for Queens Cable car ride, which came with the bundle of Sun wheel, Zen garden & couple of other rollercoaster rides (forgot names). Cable car with 2 levels was a fun to ride - level 1 while going & level 2 on return. Staff are trying the best to help, streamline & guide the guests, but the larger groups are uncontrollable and a menace to fellow guests. Japanese museum was nice to see practices used in making Legendary Ninja Swords, try out Kimono robes & use Swords to cut grass / bamboo in caged environments. Sun wheel was really good to see the Halong city from a different level. Watching the city in rains is a different experience 😍 Zen garden was picturesque, but couldn't enjoy much with sudden rains. An elderly staff of rollercoaster ride # 1 was unpolite - blame it on language barrier. But they were well compensated by rollercoaster # 2 staff, who were very polite, explaining in details & help so well in the ride, though he also struggled with language 😀. Simple, person with right attitude makes the change 🙂👍.

Ti Top Beach is a picturesque crescent-shaped beach situated on Ti Top Island, one of the most beautiful islands in Ha Long Bay. This island is known for its unique features, including four-season beaches with fine white sand and clear blue waters teeming with small fish and colorful coral reefs. The beach itself may not be large, but it offers high-quality soft sand and turquoise blue waters, making it a popular destination for beach lovers.
Titop Island is an absolute gem in Ha Long Bay, offering both stunning views and a beautiful beach. This small island is a popular stop for cruise ships, and it's easy to see why. Whether you're into hiking, swimming, or just soaking in breathtaking scenery, Titop has something for everyone. For those who love a challenge, the climb to the top of the mountain is a must. It’s about 400 steps to the summit, and while the hike can be steep and demanding, the panoramic view from the top is absolutely worth the effort. The sight of Ha Long Bay from above, with its emerald waters and scattered islands, is truly awe-inspiring and makes the climb more than rewarding. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, the island’s beach is a great place to unwind. The white sand is soft and clean, continuously washed by the tide, and the water is clear and inviting for a swim. Whether you choose to lounge on a deckchair or take a dip in the sea, the beach offers a peaceful escape from the bustling tourist spots. The island also holds historical significance, named after a Russian general who helped Vietnam during the war, adding a unique cultural layer to the visit. Overall, Titop Island is a must-visit destination in Ha Long Bay. Whether you're climbing to the top for a breathtaking view or relaxing on the pristine beach, this island offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone exploring the bay!

Nothing too special, it's just one of many small rock islands in the Halong Bay with a little piece of sandy beach.. it's too crowded and over exploited for tourism.. just spent one hour here, I've watched two incidents, someone almost drowned in the beach and someone fainted probably due to the heat of the crowd.

Our first stop among the three stop in route 2 cruise riding. Here you can do Swimming and especially Hiking. You have to go around 400-500 upstairs to see the view. I say you go half it’s the same view nothing different. At our visit, weather was so hot it made our experience little hustled. I feel that this place experience completely depend on the weather.

The Ti Top mountain is the viewpoint for the Ha Long Bay. The view is beautiful, especially at sunset. Sadly it gets overcrowded, so crowded that the queue from top extends to mid point. There was a space crunch on the top, Most tours arrive there around the same time creating a flood of visitors. The beach could be nice but it's a small beach. The authorities struggle to cope up, i observed only a couple of officials and their duty ended at the ticket checking point.

Had a small stop on Ti Top Island. The crescent-shaped beach with white sand and clear waters was inviting. Activities like swimming and kayaking were available, though the area can get crowded, especially during peak times. The hike was somewhat tough but provided panoramic views of the bay, adding a rewarding element to the visit. Despite the crowds, the natural beauty of the island made it a worthwhile stop.

What an amazing place!! Words cannot express the beauty. We came here on a cruise boat. Our travel agent booked the Ha Long Bay tour with the Alisa Cruise for one night. Tom was our waiter and he provided excellent service. Our tour guide was Thuy and she was knowledgeable about Ha Long Bay. The activities would have been better if it wasn’t so crowded, the Sung Sot cave wasn’t as enjoyable. I did enjoy the kayaking at Lion Cave but their WC was despicable. The food was excellent. But I wish they provided more cold water, or ice! Overall, awesome trip on the Alisa Cruise!

We had a wonderful 2 night, 3 day trip on Alisa Premier Cruise around Ha Long Bay. Leading up to the trip Alice Nhong was so helpful and easy to contact via WhatsApp- she answered all my questions quickly and clearly. On board the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make it a great experience. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities you’d want from a hotel. As a vegetarian the food was also excellent - they made sure I ate really well and I had plenty of variety - I let them know in advance of the trip. The excursions were fun - the first day trip to the caves was a bit crazy and crowded due to several boats there at the same time but as we did two nights our kayak trip to visit smaller and quieter caves was much more chilled - and they have a boat of you don’t want to kayak. The further you go out in Ha Long bay the more chilled and calm it is and you can really enjoy the beauty of it. I want to give a mention to Jin our waitress who was so delightful and to Tina our main guide, who made everything so much fun and she has great knowledge too. We were there as a couple but lots of families with young kids were on board too so it feels like it caters well for both. I highly recommend taking a trip to Ha Long Bay with Alisa Premier Cruise.

The cruise is new and well-maintained. The food is excellent that we were so full once we set our feet on the cruise. The cruise members were super nice, super friendly and really considerate, especially Unie. They really made our trip unforgettable 🥰

Everything about the cruise was perfect. Thanks to Helen who helped us with the booking and arranging the transport, and took care of all the special requests we had for meals. Really had a wonderful time. Everyone from the crew was very helpful, and Jin who was assigned to us also took care of every request we had while on the cruise with so much care. Also special thanks to Tina who was our guide for the excursions. She made the tours really fun. Thank you Alisa Cruise for being the highlight of my trip.

Took me about 4 hours to find a cruise for Ha Long Bay and I’m so happy to have booked Alisa Premier Cruise - made the research worth it!! Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable! Shoutout to James, Mr Viet and Dean for making the trip a standout. The activities were a perfect amount, nether too little or too hectic - very happy with the booking inclusions! Food was delicious, happy hour was a good vibe, and overall extremely happy with the experience :)

This two-day, one-night Ha Long Bay cruise is on par with other cruises. This ship offers its guests several activities to do during their stay. What it would be like to go to a cave or canoe through a cave. Personally, I found them entertained. I did one night, but if I had to do it again, I wouldn't do any nights at all. Just one day is enough. The price of a room is not too high for what they offer. I recommend going for just one day.

I was very lucky to arrange for my cruise to HaLong Bay through Rita cruise. The crew are amazing, professional, friendly and communicative. Luna Linh was my main contact through the trip. She helped me to arrange for the trip. Luna Linh is so communicative and highly oriented. She made sure that I have all the needed details to enjoy my trip to Ha Long Bay. The program was amazing, food was delicious and the vibes on the boat were very romantic.

Indochina Sails is a luxury cruise line in Halong Bay, operated by Huong Hai Junk. The fleet consists of three vessels offering a variety of room types for individuals, couples, families, or groups. The decor is ornate and the cabins and social areas are comfortable. Guests can enjoy delicious cuisine in the dining room and cocktails from the well-stocked bar.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Experience with Indochina Sail – Exceptional Service & Warm Hospitality!** My recent Halong Bay cruise with Indochina Sails was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the outstanding service and genuine hospitality that exceeded every expectation. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew greeted us with warm smiles and refreshing drinks, setting the tone for a truly memorable journey. Impeccable Service: The attention to detail was remarkable. The staff anticipated our needs before we even asked—whether it was adjusting the dining menu to accommodate dietary preferences (kudos to the chef for the delectable Vietnamese dishes!) or ensuring our cabin was always spotless. Special shout-out to the F&B manager, Peter Nam, whose professionalism and charm made us feel like VIPs.

The staff were very friendly. The food wasn’t the greatest but were very accommodating to my food allergies. The room was super hot and had an odd smell that went on throughout our whole stay. Our door handle was also broken. The room itself was beautiful. The activities weren’t the best and felt short and pointless. The tender to the boat was also very long and hot.

Our two night cruise on the Indochina Sails exceeded our expectations. The service was top notch from all staff and shout out to Tuan (happy Buddha) for looking after us and for our room upgrade. We always knew what was happening when. Our room was fantastic as we had the suite. Heaps of space, great views from the second floor, a great sleep, and the best shower I've had on a cruise. The food also exceeded our expectations, with five course meals for lunch and dinner, and a buffet breakfast. This cruise was great value for the service and comfort we had. Thank you again to all the amazing staff!

Our family had a wonderful few days at Ha Long Bay. The reasons I gave four stars and not 5 are outlined in this review, but I should mention that we did truly have an excellent time outside of these hiccups. The waiter assigned to us "Peter" was so friendly too and made the kids feel very special - so much so that they didn't want to leave. Thank you! Unfortunately the two rooms we were given (111 & 112) both had an obstructed view from the little passenger water taxis that are tethered to the sides of the main boat, which was a bit disappointing - we would have paid the same amount as the rooms further down that would have had a better view. The toilet in one of our rooms also stopped working so we had to rely on the toilet in the other room across the hall - on the plus side the company was very good about rectifying the situation the next day. We did have such a great time overall that we would absolutely come back and do this again, but i would be requesting not to have rooms 111 and 112 on our next adventure. We stayed for a 2 night/3 day cruise, and that was very good overall (definitely worth the extra day), however the kayaking portion of day 2 took us through a lot of trash in the bay which definitely put a dampener on that part of the experience. I wish I'd skipped the kayak and just jumped on the water taxi to take me to the cave.

Felt a bit disappointed with this trip The staff were all fantastic, really friendly and we actually got given a free room upgrade which was obviously brilliant. However the food on the first meal was from a buffet which was actually the better meal as you could pick what you want. The evening dinner was from a menu that you had no choice in the courses and either the shrimp or the fish gave me food poisoning so was up all night in the bathroom so missed the next days off ship tour. The activities for the trip I felt were a bit lacking too, we got to watch the chef cut some vegetables but didn't actually get to try ourselves and also didn't get the option for squid fishing. All in all I think they did somethings really well but really fell short in other areas. 5* for the staff though they were all lovely

We spent 2 nights/ 3 days on Indochina Grand cruise, executive suite. Check in was really terrible: we were greeted in a super busy room, hot and steamy full of people and noise, with limited seating and not much information given. After one hour of a hell, we went into a nice small motorboat that brought us to the Grand, reached avter about half hour. Room: well appointed, with a touch of luxury. A fantastic window floor to ceiling with unbeatable view of the outside. A nice private balcony with two chairs. It was serviced quite well, cleaning was excellent. Food: all in all it was good, however the menu on one of the dinners was fixed with no alternative options. Service at the restaurant was very professional and quite expedite. Staff: very friendly and attentive, the best you could find. The cruise: this was a very disappointing point. Actually, this is not a proper cruise, overall, in three days, we cruised less than two hours and it was just going from the embarkation point to another place where we stayed for the night. In reality, this is a good hotel on the water, not a cruise ship. Activities: the first day we were escorted to a nice sampan / kayak excursion, all very nice and well organized. The second day, we were picked up by another boat not belonging to the sailing company after breakfast and brought around the bay until 4 pm. This boat was collecting passenger from different ships. It was quite irritating that we were left alone in an average tourist group tour with an entertaining guide. Something we really didn’t want to experience. The last day, after the second day’s disappointing experience, we deliberately missed the tour to the caves and waited for the return transfer to the port. We think that our expectation of a luxury cruise was not met and we had just an average tour in a nice boat with a nice bedroom. The staff: this is the real plus. Everyone was really kind and professional, they made us feel allright. If we were given a second chance, we would opt for a different cruise company.

Tuan Chau International Marina is a bustling boat terminal serving as the starting point for various tours to Halong Bay. It features two floors, with souvenir and snack shops on the ground floor and office and authority clearance areas on the second floor. The waiting room has limited seating, and the air conditioning may struggle during peak tourist seasons. From this marina, visitors can embark on day cruises like Ambassador Day Cruise or La Casta Day Cruise to explore Halong Bay's stunning landscapes.
Our visit to Tuan Chau International Marina was absolutely fantastic! This place is a perfect destination for families. The stunning views of the bay, with its calm waters and picturesque backdrop of limestone karsts, were breathtaking. The marina is well-organized, clean, and offers a sense of luxury. It’s also a great starting point for exploring Ha Long Bay. The staff were professional and friendly, making the experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone. Our 5-year-old had a wonderful time too. The spacious walkways and family-friendly atmosphere made it easy for us to explore without any hassle. I highly recommend Tuan Chau Marina to anyone visiting the area. It’s an awesome experience that we’ll cherish for years!

Tuan Chau International Marina, located in Halong City, Quang Ninh Province, is a premier gateway to the stunning Halong Bay. Recognized as Vietnam's largest man-made marina, it serves as the main hub for organizing cruises and activities in Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, and Lan Ha Bay. The marina boasts modern facilities, including spacious waiting lounges, ticket counters, and operation rooms, ensuring a seamless experience for travelers. The marina is divided into two ports: Port 1, designed in a European style with a 2,000-meter anchorage, and Port 2, which serves as the operational hub for Halong Bay management. Both ports are equipped to accommodate thousands of passengers, making it a reliable choice for cruise departures. Visitors can also enjoy nearby attractions such as beaches, hotels, and entertainment services. Tuan Chau Marina offers additional amenities like supermarkets, kid zones, and theme parks, making it more than just a transit point. The musical fountain show is a highlight, providing a dazzling display of lights and sound. Whether you're embarking on a luxury cruise or exploring the marina's entertainment options, Tuan Chau International Marina is a fantastic starting point for an unforgettable journey in Halong Bay.

The stunning Ha Long Bay cruises begin from this point, which serves as the main ferry terminal for the area. A large number of cruise operators are based here, offering various options for exploring the breathtaking beauty of Ha Long Bay. The area is also home to several shops selling souvenirs and traditional Vietnamese products, making it a great spot for last-minute shopping before boarding. Whether you’re looking for a luxury cruise or a day tour, this is where your unforgettable Ha Long Bay journey begins.

This is the pier for the boat cruises going to Halong Bay and Cat Ba Island. Surprising, there's less people compared to the first I time I visited last 2019. Has some souvenir shops, restaurants and the like.

It is the main gateway to Halong Bay. It’s a modern, well-maintained marina with easy boat boarding and helpful staff. The area has cafes, shops, and waiting lounges. It can get busy during peak tour times, but the efficient check-ins and facilities make the visit smooth and comfortable. Great starting point for your Halong Bay cruise!

Everything else was fine, but one important tip make sure to carry enough drinking water in a refillable water bottle. Avoid using single-use plastic bottles. On the cruise, they don’t provide free drinking water, and buying it onboard can be very expensive..

Our Ha Long Bay cruise started from Tuan Chau International Marina. It was a great cruise booked online through Viator and organised by Arcady tours. A fabulous lunch was served on board with a variety of dishes. The beauty of Ha Long Bay cannot be expressed in words, it's just amazing. Everyone must cruise along Ha Long Bay once in Ha Noi!

Nice location and clean but if you seek for a meal before start trip , they have only coffee shop and snack. Just to caution about use Grab from there, the local taxi they will request you to cancel booking then go with them, if you don't mind just go with them but if no just look for a new trustable taxi.

Nostalgia Cruises Ha Long offers a delightful 3-day/2-night cruise experience on a new boat with clean, comfortable rooms and modern bathrooms. The staff is friendly, and the food is plentiful. While there are some tourists and occasional rubbish in the bay, the overall experience is enjoyable. Activities such as kayaking, cycling on Cat Ba Island, and exploring caves are highlights of the trip. Guests also have access to amenities like a jacuzzi on board.
We had a great time on Nostalgia cruise exploring the beauty of Halong Bay. All staff on the cruise are super friendly and attentive, especially our F&B attendant - Green. She took care of our dietary needs and in between service she shared some local tips of what to look out for. Food on board rival that of top restaurants in major cities (we definitely overate during the 3 days cruise…) The little surprises for our daughter (birthday dinner decoration, cake and special drinks) are certainly one of the highlight of the hospitality on board.

We had the most amazing time on board The Nostalgia Cruise Ship 🛳️. From the time we stepped on board to the time we stepped off we were treated extremely well. We thoroughly enjoyed all the on board and off board experiences. The food and drinks were plentiful and amazing. We loved having Green support and entertain our 10 year old Hayden. She is a true asset to your company as we’re all the other crew members. I also experienced a massage on board which was divine. Highly recommend xx

What a memorable trip with my girlfriend! Your service was very professional throughout the trip: the crew, waiter, and reception staff were all very friendly, kind, and hospitable. This is my first faraway trip with my girlfriend, but this trip seems to be our honeymoon, too. It's too romantic in our room. Send love to my guy Kent and Mel. You two were very friendly and kind. See you guys in the future. Thanks for everything

The boat has 10 rooms so we didn't feel overcrowded. They were clean and overlooked the balcony which had lovely views of ha long bay. The food tasted delicious. A lot of activities such as kayaking, cooking class, tai chi, fishing, swimming, hiking in the caves, ride around Cat Ba Island and more activities. So we never felt bored. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. Thank you to Kent, Nina, Colin, David, Paul and Mel. You all made it a special and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this cruise around the scenic ha long bay.

We had a wonderful Halong bay cruise with Nostalgia. The cabins are lovely and very comfortable. They arranged connecting rooms for our family. The scenery is beautiful and we had a lovely time Kayaking and swimming. Our 11 year old particularly loved the water slide. Our waitress Green was very kind and attentive. Mel, our cruise director, was great company and very efficient. A very enjoyable experience.

I loved Nostalgia cruises and we came with two kids who loved the entertainment the staff provided which was a slide into the water, kayaking and swimming in the jacuzzi. The amenities and rooms were very clean and looked very beautiful. Breakfast lunch and dinner was great as well and the staff was kind and the kids loved talking to them and even one particular staff who was named Kent showed us some very interesting manic tricks! I would definitely recommend this cruise if you ever come to Vietnam!

It was a perfect 3 days stay on Nostalgia! We loved the King Suite very much. Incredibly delicious food and fantastic drinks. I really can recommend that Tour! ❤️ Very special thanks to Ms Green to make that stay on board unforgettable.

We had an incredible time on the cruise! First of all, we were incredibly grateful to find that we had been upgraded to a Queen Suite! My partner has allergies so neither of us eat shellfish and the staff had no issues catering to our dietary needs, we were so grateful and the food was delicious! It was my birthday on the night we were on board and the staff decorated our dinner table, brought out a cake and even gave me a small gift!! I couldn’t believe how wonderful it was. All of the staff are so attentive and kind! We never wanted for anything! There was so much food and it was so delicious! The cocktails were more expensive than elsewhere in Vietnam but that is understandable given we were on a cruise- they were also tasty! We participated in the kayaking and the cooking demonstration and loved both of those activities. We chose to pass on the hiking as we felt like a rest, so we stayed and enjoyed the lovely view from the boats rooftop. We had an amazing time and our only regret is not doing the two nights! If you’re on the fence- book for two nights, this is an amazing cruise!

Genesis Regal Cruise is a luxury cruise line that caters to families and offers ample in-room amenities, as well as youth programs. This sleek vessel follows French-Indochine classic style and comprises 20 large cabins that are equipped with a private balcony, safety box, en-suite bathtub. The cruise line was affected by bad weather during the trip but was able to still offer plenty of activities for the passengers.
One of the best travel decision I made. Amazing brand new cruise , clean and modern cabin with spacious washrooms with bathtub with view. Hans J — Google review
I’ve traveled far and wide, but every so often, a journey leaves a deeper imprint. Our 2-day, 1-night cruise aboard Genesis through the emerald majesty of Halong Bay was one such rare gem. From the moment we stepped aboard, it was clear: this wasn’t just a boat ride — it was an experience designed with care, elegance, and an eye for the sublime. The vessel itself is immaculate, with a polished, premium feel that whispers rather than shouts luxury. We stayed in a Junior Suite, and what a treat it was — a spacious room with a private balcony to drink in the bay’s surreal beauty, and a deep bathtub perfect for a post-excursion soak. Every detail felt intentional. The food? Let me put it this way: in a country renowned for its cuisine, the meals aboard Genesis somehow managed to rise above. Fresh, flavorful, beautifully plated — better than many restaurants we tried on land. Each course was a celebration of Vietnamese flavors with a modern twist. Activities were enjoyable — kayaking, cave exploring, and cooking classes added just the right touch of variety, though the true joy was simply being present in that landscape of limestone giants and quiet waters. But what truly elevated the cruise was the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuine — they delivered five-star service with the heart of a family. Special shout-out to "the cruise manager", who was exceptional from beginning to end — calm, professional, deeply kind, and always one step ahead. He set the tone for the entire experience and made everything flow seamlessly. And here’s what sealed it: I twisted my ankle just before disembarking. Not ideal, of course. But the crew — with the manager at the helm — rallied with such calm, empathy, and professionalism that I felt not like a guest, but a person genuinely cared for. You may see cheaper cruises out there — but if you’re looking for something elevated, refined, and deeply worth remembering, invest in Genesis. You’ll leave with more than memories — you’ll leave with a story.

We’ve had the most incredible experience with Genesis Regal Cruise. The room was amazing with a huge window where you could watch the scenery as the boat sails round the bay. The cruise manager was really helpful and kind. The schedule was great with enough activities but did not feel rushed. The food was some of the best that we have had so far on our trip. They made a birthday really special and we felt overwhelmed with the kindness that was shown towards this. One of the most incredible experiences and birthday!
Harry E — Google review
Everything was incredible from the staff, the rooms, the food and the short excursions. The one thing that disappointed me was that at the end of the cruise I was planning to take the ferry. They are very smart when asking you where you are going next because they want you to book with their transportation. They told me oh no the ferry isn’t running anymore so I would have to pay more money to book a speed boat which was a total lie and I got on a ferry at 12:30pm to Cat Ba. The cruise director himself told me there were no ferries and a typhoon was coming which is completely false. There was some bad weather coming, but later on. Also the transportation from Hà Nội is expensive and not spacious at all and my driver almost fell asleep. They should get two drivers together. Other than that, the actual cruise was fantastic.

We had a great 3 day 2 night cruise on the Genesis Regal. The boat itself was stunning, the room and the bathroom was incredible and everyone on boat was very attentive and always tended to anything we needed. We did not like some of the set menus so advised them of this and they catered it for what we liked. The only ‘small downside’ is that breakfast is not on the same level as the rest of the food on board but it was still nice.

The cruise was very good quality wise. The rooms were beautiful with great views, the meals exceeded expectations. We booked a one night stay and the activities included kayaking, a boat ride and a cooking demonstration. Maybe a bit overpriced but overall a great experience that we don't regret.
Asimina N — Google review
Having mixed feelings about this cruise. Lets start with the positives: - rooms are very nice and clean, views are stunning - Staff is very friendly! - Although the schedule was tight, the activites were fun and there was a lot to see/do. The places they took us to were not too crowded, that was very nice! Now the down-side: - the food was quite disappointing. Especially the vegetarian meals were very random, a lot of them not very enjoyable. What bothered us the most was that almost everything was served cold, most of the time you could already see your food standing behind the table and getting cold while you were still eating another course. - Food-Service was also not what we expected when paying this amount of money. It was literally chaos: they kept bringing the food in the wrong order or at the same time, meaning I wasn‘t even done with my plate and the next things kept coming. My boyfriend had the normal meals, I had the vegetarian menu. He got his food much later than I did, or the other way around. This is simply not high standards and disturbed us quite a bit. - there were some other little things that didn‘t match our expectations such as a dirty waiting lounge (hair everywhere), only warm water bottles, breakfast was only availabe from 6:45-7:45, drinks (juices, water) were not cold but roomtemperature. - Some things just didn‘t seem very well organized, for example there were no towels for the sunbeds (when we asked, we got towels) and nobody around to ask for drinks etc…. I want to add that I‘m really not a complicated person and totally understand that mistakes are made. If this would have been only one meal, fine - I‘ll easily get over it. But the whole dining experience was very disappointing (expect for the brunch on the last day, that was good): otherwise chaotic service, cold food, and not to mention very weird menu constellations. Honestly, I don‘t know if I‘d book it again. Experience was nice, but the eating part - I don‘t know if I should laugh or cry… At the end of our stay, they asked for feedback. We were totally honest and have to admit they reacted very well and took it serious (for what I can tell).

A fantastic first time experience at Ha Long Bay. The service and food was phenomenal. Although there are many different types of boats that you can book, we were very happy with our choice. The Genesis Regal was perfect for our 2 night stay. We loved that the decor was not modern, but authentic to the Vietnamese vibe and made one feel more surrounded by the culture. The entire crew was so friendly and made my husband feel extra special, decorating our suite and celebrating his birthday with everyone singing to him during dinner time. I would highly recommend this cruise for anyone planning a trip to Ha Long Bay.

This was one of my favorite overall travel experiences in years! I wasn’t really impressed with their hotel, which lowered my expectations of the cruise, but everything about the experience was top notch. The boat was nice, modern and very comfortable. I’m not a huge foodie, but their buffet and dinner were better than a lot of restaurants I’ve been to. Cruising around in Ha Long Bay was beautiful, but I also really enjoyed kayaking and visiting a local village. Overall fantastic company and experience.

This was a really plush cruise to Lan Ha Bay. April Le was very efficient and prompt with all our enquiries and helping to book the transfers. The cruise itself was excellent from pickup to checkout …. They have their own terminal at Tuan Chau Island and transfer you in style and comfort. The staff are excellent and the ship is new and luxurious. The only issue we had is the cruise seemed over subscribed as there was not enough room in the dining room for all the guests. We were relegated to the piano room until we complained. It a nice room but nothing like the dining room. The cruise personnel need to organise the room better to accommodate all parties. The food was plentiful and some was better than others. Cocktails are only so-so. On the whole, it’s worth the premium for the luxurious boat and the service. It really adds to the enjoyment of Lan Ha Bay.

Our 2 days 1 night trip to Lan Ha bay was simply amazing. Could not complain anything as the service, the scenery and the experience were impressive. First off, you will be transferred to the Paradise Grand cruise by a boat. It’s not crowded at all, passengers in the first seats and luggages at the back. After 10-15 minutes you will be getting to the cruise and enjoy your welcome drinks, welcome dance, and welcome speech while your luggage was taken to your registered room. The foods here were really good with amazingly fresh seafoods. Due to limited supplies, of course variety of buffet line will not be as high as when you’re on mainland but the dinner is what you can look forward to. Dessert was so-so, you will have wide variety of drinks including beers and wines to enjoy the night outside the seas. Activities wise, there are kayak, boat, free swimming around Sáng Tối cave and Ao Ech area. You can do squid fishing or watching movies at night. For those who enjoys exercise, Taichi is offered in early morning when you can also watch sunrise which is a very nice experience. Staffs are extremely nice and attentive. The reception people are just pleasant and so helpful with all your needs. Facility is new and beautiful, for sure you will have many good photos indoor. Scenery wise, Lan Ha bay would be pretty similar to Ha Long bay as they’re connected, just belongs to different provinces. Lan Ha is less commercialized and crowded compared to Ha Long. It’s noteworthy that there will be super limited wifi or 4G connection outside the sea so let’s forget about work and social media for a while. 2 days 1 night already covers enough of what to see and to do, also enough of disconnect to refresh, reflect and recharge yourself. If you're seeking a luxurious and private cruise experience, Orchid Premium Cruise is an excellent choice. Launched in 2019 by Pelican Groups, this newly-established cruise in Halong Bay offers maximum privacy with only 5 spacious cabins ranging from 45 to 96 square meters. While onboard, guests can enjoy top-notch amenities and stunning views from their rooms. The attentive staff, including the friendly cruise manager Happy, ensures a memorable experience.
We took one night trip with family and it was such a lovely experience! The staff and the service was exceptional, our guide was so friendly, everyone was helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful, definitely much more spacious than cruises in USA or Europe. I would recommend the massage on the cruise (so good), there was also other activities like off shore trips or cooking class so you won’t get bored. Food was nice (in form of buffet mostly). The scenery of Ha Long Bay is amazing and I would recommend this cruise for family or couples, we had a lovely time and made nice memories. PS: you can ask them to book you shuttle to Hanoi after your trip which was really convenient.

Our experience on the Orchid Premium Cruise in Ha Long Bay was truly unforgettable. For three days, we had the unique opportunity to be among just a few guests on the vessel, which created an incredibly intimate atmosphere that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of the bay. From the moment we boarded, we were captivated by the stunning scenery surrounding us—towering limestone karsts rising majestically from the emerald waters create a picture-perfect backdrop for relaxation and exploration. The tranquility of the bay, especially with so few people on board, made every moment feel special. While the food on the cruise was decent, earning a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars, it was the exceptional service that truly made our experience shine. Our host was incredible—so warm, engaging, and attentive. His enthusiasm and passion for sharing the culture and beauty of Ha Long Bay made all the difference, turning what could have been an average dining experience into a memorable one. We spent our days exploring hidden caves, kayaking in serene waters, and enjoying the stunning sunsets from the deck. Each moment felt like a private escape, and we cherished the opportunity to connect not only with the breathtaking surroundings but also with our wonderful host, who added a personal touch to our journey. Overall, the Orchid Premium Cruise provided us with a unique and intimate experience in one of the world's most beautiful locations. With good food and the warmth of our host, along with the stunning scenery, it was an adventure we will always treasure.

We loved our time with Orchid cruises. The views of Ha Long Bay were stunning, the food was exquisite, and the staff were all highly attentive, especially our personal server, Win. We highly recommend the two nights to get the full experience and would say the upgrade to a suite was definitely worth it.

We have come back from the Orchid Premium cruise today, we did the one night/ 2 days and we were blown away with the whole experience. Every single staff member was so attentive and friendly, they cannot do enough for you. The boat itself and bedroom were anazing, and I liked the fact there was 10 people maximum on the boat, this made it feel more personable and special. There was so much food to be had and it was all delicious, and you can request different dishes if there is something on there you don’t like. We would like to specifically mention Dong and Jack, who gave the best customer service we’ve ever experienced- you were both so caring and polite. Many thanks again- Claire & Curt Simpson

We were on Orchid Classic 2. Fantastic experience. Food was exceptional throughout — especially both dinner services and lunch on the day boat. Brilliant presentation and wonderful taste. Staff were lovely - Mr Tien was a great tour organiser, and our waiter Colada was professional and very charming. Really enjoyed the activities on offer, namely the kayaking and exploration around Lan Ha bay. Cleanliness very good in the rooms as well. Great overall!

We had a 2 days / 1 night cruise on the Orchid Trendy Boat. The boat is great, with all the good amenities, the bathroom and the view from the room are fantastic. I think we were approx 15 people on board at this time, so not really private boat but group size is ok. The staff and the cruise manager Happy were also super friendly. We had a really good time. A little bit disappointed with the food, which was tasteless and should really be improved considering the price. Also the pool is not heated.

We stayed with Orchid Premium for 2x nights and 3x days late last year and all we can say is we wish it was longer! Had an absolutely fantastic time and this was definitely one of the highlights of our entire Vietnam trip! Big shout out to Benny and Dong for looking after us, can't wait to come back again!

Pure luxury and flawless service. Not to mention the amazingly scenic cruise around the thousand Islands of Ha Long Bay. From the moment you arrive to the sad departure, the staff provide a very sincere, personal and friendly service. The boat is beautiful with scenic views wherever you are. Lovely open decks, but with enough shelter, if required. The boats only have 15 to 20 rooms, so it never feels crowded. The rooms all have floor to ceiling glass, balconies and are very spacious. All trips were very well planned with excellent guides. I cannot recommend these cruises enough. I would have given 6 stars if it was possible.

I would like to preface this review with the fact that the service we received was very good, the staff are willing to cater to any need you may have. First off the transportation we chose to Ha Long Bay was the “delux” and it sure was the seats were comfortable and had plug ins for power. The boat itself is dated, the appearance of the boat when approaching with all the other boats around it is lackluster. The windows in the dining room are kinda cloudy as if someone cleaned them with steel wool. I had the cheapest cabin on bottom floor the bed and pillows were comfortable but there was no place to put my suitcase. No chair in the room, so I had to open my suitcase on the ground. The bathroom was dated but the jacuzzi tub worked so that a plus. The common areas also dated and not as much common areas as other boats I saw. The lounge chairs upstairs had no cousins on them so they were like sitting on metal lounge chairs you just slide off of them. NO DRINKS ARE INCLUDED, except for 1 warm bottle of water in your room a day. Water at dinner is not included, tea or coffee is not included either. Coffee and juice and tea are only provided in the morning for breakfast. The massage services were great as well as the excursions. The good on the excursion boat was better than our home boat. The food was meh… to say the least. There was at least a lot of it and at least 2 things each meal was really good. I wouldn’t recommend this cruise I think there are better options and there are worse. I took the Doris Cruise last year and had a much better experience overall. Again staff was great but boat was dated.

We were very satisfied with our cruise. Our guide Power was very funny and made every effort to ensure we had a good stay. Overall, the whole staff was very nice and everything was extremely well organized. The rooms were clean and very well equipped. There was never a dull moment and the time passed very quickly. If you have more time I would recommend a 3 day cruise. For the price, the cruise was perfect. We would recommend the Sapphire Cruise.

Bad Experience Had booked a Deluxe Room but did not get a room with a private balcony inspite. The cruise boat was shabby and unhygienic. The cruise boat had Christmas buntings on New Year’s eve. No fireworks, only some karaoke music. Meanwhile some other cruise boats had a fabulous fireworks display. Even Vietnam 🇻🇳 flag was torn. Overall rate it as 2/10 for my experience on a New Years eve. If making a booking please double check on the room being provided to you

We had a fantastic time on this cruise. We actually booked with another cruise in the same company but owing to a booking error were upgraded to this cruise at no additional charge. The food was amazing and the activities were fun including swimming in the bay, squid fishing, a traditional boat ride through a cave, spring roll class and karaoke. The host Luc (Power) was great fun and the staff in general were very friendly. Our 4 year old daughter caught a squid and the staff were very excited in helping her land it and then cooked it for us as an extra course for dinner.

Halong Bay is over rated. The amount of money you paid vs time spend on cruise is not worth it. Cruise is parked away from shore around 40 min. Though life jackets are there, they happily say it’s only for inspection and they have setting with the authorities. This was bit unacceptable for me . Once you reach cruise they serve you food and cruise will travel during then around 2-3 hours and then again for 1-2 hours and post 5 pm it will be parked. In the cruise food was good, room was good and even activities was ok. Halong bay is beautiful but it not maintained well looks like these cruises dump the waste and plastics during night. Water looked so dirty that I have decided not to touch it. Post King Kong movie this was popular spot however needs to be maintained. You can avoid over night stay.. go for day trip.

On a girls trip visited in April We decided 2D1N on the cruise It’s was well organized , so many activities you can do , from swimming , make your own spring rolls , karaoke (everyone love to sings :) fishing , etc next day have Taichi , easy breakfast then went to bamboos boats , the view was absolutely beautiful . Our room was clean and luckily the weather was perfect , I want to thank Luc and everyone who works on the cruise, you guys are truly make the trip better , to give us everything taken care. The food was delicious , over all we just very enjoy our time there.

Luc and his crew were all so amazing and went far any beyond to make our trip great, you really can't fault them at all so 5 stars to all the crew! As far as the boat goes we feel there are better options for the money. In our case the booking girl completely oversold this and compared it comparative to another boat we had been on which was 10 times better, luxury, food wise and also not as dated. All in all a fun trip, but definitely shop around as far as boats go!

We booked le theatre cruise with view. The room was quite spacious and clean, there is even a bath tub with great view. The service was amazing. People are very kknd and willing to help you with everything, from dietary restriction to taking your luggage out and taking photos. The dining room also has stunning view. There is a lot of activity in the cruise, like tai chi, making spring rolls, squid fishing, kayaking, exploring caves.

I had a really great time on this cruise. The rooms were very luxurious and comfortable. We had booked the panorama room which had an amazing view of the whole of Halong bay from the back of the boat. The staff were all so so kind and courteous. They made my time on the boat very enjoyable. A special shout-out to Linh and Tom who took care of us at all times. We loved getting to know them and about life in Vietnam. The food was delicious, the highlight was the set menu dinner. WOW, they served us amazing local seafood from Halong. We had a romantic table set for two on the deck which was so lovely! The highlight was in the afternoon after kayaking, we spent sunset on the deck. The view was amazing, the music was great and the drinks were refreshing (try the ping colada). Remember that you just buy drinks on top of the nightly rate- take advantage of the happy hour deals from 5-7pm. I would recommend this cruise to all! Don’t forget to tip those who took care of you if it’s within your means :)

(Translated by Google) The cruise is very good, they take you on a boat where they explain the planning of your stay and give you an introduction to the bay. They have many activities and all scheduled in advance so you can enjoy them without stress. They are all optional and you can do them or not. I recommend kayaking and watching the sunset on the upper deck of the boat. The cruise room was clean, very large and comfortable. Our guide Tom explained everything we needed very well and even took a moment to chat with us. The assigned waiter, Jhon, was always very attentive to what we might need and is very friendly.
