Nestled in the picturesque town of Sigiriya, Green Bamboo House offers a delightful retreat just minutes away from iconic attractions like the Sigiriya Museum and the Ancient City of Sigiriya. This charming guesthouse is perfect for those looking to explore nearby natural wonders such as Pidurangala Rock and Minneriya National Park. Guests can enjoy various recreational activities, including access to a fitness center and bicycle rentals, ensuring an active stay amidst stunning surroundings.
A place to get lost, the family hosting here is one of the most welcoming I've ever seen. Heads up! This is in the middle of nowhere, you must enjoy the time here and understand you won't find any luxury or fast wifi but a great Sri Lankan experience. My wife and I spent a night here while on our way to Sigiriya Rock. The breakfast was fabulous. I would come back if I had the chance but won't spend more than 2 days here

We had a lovely stay at Green Bamboo House. The room was clean, very quiet at night und even had a private terrace. The host gave us good recommendations and we had a great Rice and Curry for dinner. Breakfast was also tasty. I would definitely recommend. Thanks for having us!

Such a nice place away from the crowded center. Nice family. Left my headphones at the homestay and they said they will post them to me which is very nice.

Beautiful location, beautiful house and amazing family. If you want a place to reconnect with nature this is the right choice in Sigirya.

This is an absolutely charming guest house. Very sweet hosts. Amazing breakfast. Room is comfy, cozy and clean. For the price its just incredible. Book it now.

What a BEAUTIFUL hideaway in the middle of the forest and yet still just 15min away by bike from the center. BTW renting a bike for 400LKR/24h is probably the most fun way to get around. From the garden to the facilities, everything is very clean, nicely decorated and well maintained. Sanat’s family welcomed us with juice and the kids with playful games. There are only 2 rooms, ours was the one outside the house just few meters across the garden. There is hot shower, even though with low pressure. Relax in the porch and just enjoy! You can have your meals homemade by Sanat’s wife. We are really on a budget so we asked to prepare simple meals in the kitchen (instant noodles, eggs, toasts), which was totally fine. We came from the center by bike after sunset, already totally dark and used head torches. Make sure to remember. Road has no lights at certain parts. Locals will recommend you to avoid going around in the dark because sometimes wild elephants cross the roads (apparently mainly when it’s dark).

One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The son runs the place, the mum cooks, the grandpa drives the tuk-tuk and the little grandchild is a boy full of energy that knows how to have fun with all the nature around the house.

Had an amazing experience at this hidden gem in nature. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, famous rocks and very peaceful views. A perfect place to blend with nature with modern comforts. The rooms were spacious, spotless and had very own pool in some rooms. The owner who lives in the same premises and the amazing staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality. The food was outstanding and very fresh and delicious. Even with a short notice they offered a very delicious meal. Highly recommended for any one looking for a nature filled escape. I would go back to this amazing place again and again.

Our stay at Sigiriya King’s resort was nothing short of exceptional. The staff were all friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay both comfortable and memorable (thank you for letting us have breakfast from the tree hut!). The room and bathroom were spacious and clean and the bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed our dinners there too. We loved relaxing at the pool in the afternoon with the breathtaking view of both Pidurangala and Lion’s rock - it really doesn’t getter any better than this. The hotel is built so that you can see the view from the rooms and restaurant as well. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and really hope to be back one day. A great big thank you, Ayubowan !

Sigiriya Kings Resort is such a beautiful spot with the most amazing views of Sigiriya Rock. Even though we didn’t stay overnight, we got to look around and the rooms looked incredible—super modern, spacious, and comfortable. The pool was another highlight, it’s big and perfect for relaxing while taking in the scenery. The absolute best part though was the authentic Sri Lankan lunch we had there. Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and so delicious—it honestly ended up being one of the best meals we had on our whole trip. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, this place has it all: stunning views, great facilities, and amazing food. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in Sigiriya!

Kings Resort is an amazing place to stay. My wife and I were in the treehouse which gives you an incredible view of Lions Rock. The location is perfect, only a 20 minute walk to Lions Rock. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The highlight of the stay was the food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fantastic. So much flavour!
Tom D — Google review
The rooms were clean, well-maintained and the entire property was kept in good condition. The food was fresh and tasty with a good variety, and the staff provided warm, friendly service that made me feel very welcome. The hotel’s location was convenient yet peaceful too.

This place is outstanding, the food is incredible only a short drive to Lions Rock and the Main city of Sigiriya town. This is is world class resort and feels more like a 5 star! Perfectly located and superb hospitality. Thank you to all the staff.

It is an amazing place for a peaceful vacation with the perfect blend of historic environment and modern facilities. This is a place to feel like your own home away from home because of the great service received from very friendly staff. We truly impressed by an exceptional hospitality from the owners of the hotel, Kalika and Preethika Perera who live in the same premises. No doubt, we got a total of 5 star experience at Sigiriya King's Resort. The luxurious accommodation, serene surroundings and attentive staff make it a perfect place for relaxation. Highly recommended if anyone needs an unforgettable absolutely great vacation.

We stayed at Sigiriya Kings resort on the way to kandy from Trincomalee . We were a group of five and we had the best time at the hotel. I can not commend enough for the friendly team at the hotel who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.. The location was simply the best , this resort is located just at the base of Pidurangala rock and the view with the lake at the property was amazing. A wide variety of cuisine was offered at the hotel restaurant and the food quality and the taste was just the best.

Our 3 day stay at Fresco Water Villa exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely friendly. We enjoyed the hospitality and warm smiles on their faces from the moment we arrived. The buffet was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was also clean, and there was a good selection of toiletries. ” Special thanks to Mr. Samalka for making our stay super comfortable.
Nilukshini S — Google review
Fresco Villa is one of the best value hotels in Sigiriya. I initially booked a Supreme Deluxe room for one night but ended up extending my stay for another night at just $30 per night. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with a refreshing drink and had the unique opportunity to take part in a traditional oil lamp lighting ritual. The room was clean and offered a lovely view of the pool. It was well-equipped with toiletries typically found in five-star hotels, including shower gel, lotion, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a shaving kit. The toilet seat was sanitized, and the glasses were sealed for hygiene. The rate included a complimentary buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Laundry service was available at a reasonable price. The staff—including the manager, security guard, and waiters—were exceptionally friendly and always greeted me with a smile. My stay at Fresco Villa was truly memorable, and I would highly recommend it. P.S. Please don’t forget to give a generous tip to the staff. They work really hard and truly deserve it.

We had a,great time staying here. Cozy and quiet. The accomodation provided was comfortable. Rooms and bathroom were generally clean. Food was reasonably good. Great hospitality. Highly Recommended
Janaki M — Google review
The bathroom was dirty and the room overall felt old and in need of renovation. Breakfast was acceptable, with options like eggs and chicken sausage, but be aware that any type of coffee comes with an extra charge. We also found fleas in our bed, and instead of a proper bed, they had pushed two beds together, which was uncomfortable. The AC was very loud and seemed outdated, making it hard to sleep. Would not recommend unless improvements are made.
Mayra B — Google review
My experience at this hotel was very bad. In total, I stayed for three nights. On the first night and the following morning, there was a problem with the hot water. My mistake — I should have complained immediately instead of waiting until the evening. They eventually fixed it; apparently, someone had switched off the controls outside. The next day, I found plenty of ants in the bathroom and some other insects. They came with a spray to kill them. The following evening brought another surprise — a gecko defecated on me while I was in bed. On top of that, there were more insects in the bathroom and bedroom. Handles in the bathroom were broken. The Wi-Fi was poor and barely worked. A pot of tea in the restaurant cost 1,100 LKR, and there was no fresh juice available. I stayed in room 314. This is not a 4 star hotel.
Dorota Ł — Google review
I recently stayed at Fresco Water Villa, and while it is categorized as a 3-star property, the name can be quite misleading. There is no actual water villa experience here – no villas over water, no dedicated water view. In fact, the "water" part is just a small waterbody near the parking area, which doesn't match the impression the name gives. The rooms were decent and staff were polite, but if you're booking expecting a luxury or unique "water villa" vibe, you may be disappointed. It's more of a regular villa-style hotel with standard amenities. Would recommend it only if you're looking for a basic stay and not for the "water villa" experience as the name suggests.

A beautiful resort in a quiet location at the foot of Lion Rock. The grounds are green, well-kept and feature a great pool. A real highlight is the pool bar, perfect for relaxing. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and when our air conditioning didn’t work for one night, it was immediately taken care of. Breakfast is excellent, varied and plentiful. Above all, everyone here is incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall, a wonderful place to enjoy nature and unwind.

This hotel has plenty small rooms. The rooms can contain insects to it is advised to bring your own mosquito net. Beds are a bit hard. There is a pool which has a nice temperature. The nearest village is within walking distance and has plenty of bars and restaurants. This hotel does not really sell any drinks or food

Beautiful setting, great mango and passion fruit juices! Friendly staff, beds comfy, staff organised great trips for us and at competitive prices. Breakfast is a feast every morning and always made fresh! A family run business - we found the staff very friendly. Myself and my family have had a wonderful time here 😄 thank you so much for having us!

**Beautiful hotel with potential** The atmosphere was sweet and cozy, and we felt at home. The hotel still has a lot of potential – it still needs some further development in some areas, but once that's done, it will be truly amazing. The location was perfect, just 10 minutes from Lion Rock, ideal for excursions and close by the City. Overall, a lovely family business and stay!
Freskina K — Google review
**"Pretty place but poor service – not worth the price"** We stayed for 3 nights in a private pool chalet. The setting and room were lovely and the bed was comfortable, but for the price we expected much better service. After an initially warm welcome, there was no real assistance. Messages went unanswered, we couldn’t arrange activities through the hotel, and our request for housekeeping was ignored. Wi-Fi was unreliable, our toilet leaked, the pool remote didn’t work, and there was no hot water (other guests mentioned the same). Breakfast was often cold and the bar was rarely staffed. Overall, it felt neglected and poorly managed. A shame, as the place has potential, but we wouldn’t return.
Mel C — Google review
Overall very happy with our stay at Palmyra! Service was excellent, beds were a bit small for us but rooms were very nice and clean. Would not recommend the breakfast but that's personal taste :)
Evelien C — Google review
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful jungle area. The hotel was really remarkable, from the pool to the room. The breakfast was nice and a tradition style which was a nice experience. The only downside was the bugs and the bathroom being a wet room.
Daniel A — Google review

The Nature Park Villa is a 3-star resort located in Sigiriya, 1.5 km from Sigiriya Rock. The resort offers accommodation with a restaurant and free private parking. It also has an outdoor swimming pool and a garden with terrace.
Good rooms, adapted for groups of 3. Excellent restaurant in the hotel. Very nice staff. Everything was very clean. Swimming pool water coulee less green, but globally is an excellent hotel with an excellent relationship between price and quality.
Marta G — Google review
We stayed at The Nature Park Villa for two nights during our visit to Sigiriya, and overall, it was an okay experience, solid for a budget-friendly stopover, but not without its limitations. The property itself looks quite cool at first glance, with a natural vibe and a layout that blends in nicely with the greenery around. It’s located in a quiet spot about a 10-minute walk from the town centre and main road, which is manageable but something to keep in mind if you’re not keen on walking or arriving late. Our room was next to the pool, which was convenient, but unfortunately we had no internet access from the room during our stay, Wi-Fi only worked in the reception and restaurant areas. That was a bit of a letdown, especially when trying to plan the next legs of our trip. The room itself had all the basics: a bed, air-conditioning, and a bathroom. No frills, but enough to get by comfortably for a night or two. What stood out most was the restaurant service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely tried to make the dining experience pleasant. The food was good and served with care, which made a positive difference to the overall feel of the stay. That said, the place had a bit of a transient and transactional feel, more functional than welcoming. It works well as a base if you’re in Sigiriya to see the rock or go on safari, but it’s probably not the kind of place where you’d want to hang around for long stretches. You get what you pay for: a basic, clean room in a good location, but without the atmosphere or comfort that makes a place memorable. Ideal if you’re watching your budget and just need somewhere simple and convenient for a night or two. Just don’t expect too much beyond that.
Jonas B — Google review
Good hotel, good value for money. The staff is very friendly and helpful and all guest requests or concerns are dealt with. The hotel is a bit remote and you have your peace and quiet. Nevertheless, you can reach the street with restaurants and bars in a few minutes by tuktuk, which can be organized by the hotel within minutes.
Yannik W — Google review
Sigirya is simply amazing if you’re in search of relax and nature. The nature park villa is the place to be. You can recover after a day of visit in their beautiful swimming pool or just have a walk in their garden. Staff was super kind! Strongly recommended.
Alessio N — Google review
This place has lovely grounds and a great pool. The rooms were as described in the pictures and clean. My only complaints are that we were on the top floor of the building and the trees scraped against the roof on the wind which was quite loud at night when we were trying to sleep. Our water also went off a few times during our stay (they said it was the monkeys) which was annoying but the staff were quick to get it sorted each time. The location is a little far from the main road but we had a tuk tuk so this wasn't a problem for us. Overall we liked this place, it was pretty, the pool was nice and the staff were very kind and helpful. I would recommend.
Steven S — Google review
I had a terrible experience at this hotel and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The electricity constantly went out, making our stay incredibly inconvenient. The staff was rude and unhelpful, especially when we tried to make changes to our booking. Communication was a major issue – once we raised concerns, they suddenly “couldn’t understand English.” Breakfast was served cold, and no effort was made to improve the situation. Overall, the service was appalling, and it felt like the staff had no interest in helping guests. The only redeeming factor was the location – but that doesn’t make up for everything else that went wrong.
Eoin P — Google review
Beautiful hotel! Wonderful swimming pool. Very nice hotel service. Delicious food - we ate kottu roti for the first time, and it was incredibly delicious. We have never eaten anything as delicious as this again. Thank you for the incredible time. I truly recommend it!

A charming place situated amidst the quietness of the Sigiriyan village. Staffs are very hospitable. The pristine water of the swimming pool in the shade of large coconut trees surely adds to the charm of the place.

Nestled in a comfortable neighborhood, Flower Garden Eco Village is a charming and intimate hotel surrounded by lush greenery and birds. The hotel's sparkling tree-lined pool provides a relaxing setting for guests to unwind. I was absolutely delighted with my stay! The accommodation exceeded all my expectations — the rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The surroundings were breathtaking, with beautiful nature all around that made the entire experience feel like a peaceful escape. The pool was perfect — clean, well-maintained, and ideal for relaxing under the sun. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. I have to give special praise to one young, slim waiter — truly a wonderful person with a heart of gold. He went out of his way to make us feel at home, always with a smile and ready to help with anything we needed. Everything was just perfect — from the peaceful environment to the excellent service and top-notch facilities. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway. Can’t wait to come back!

Awful experience. I booked 3 rooms as I was travelling with my family. The photos on Google seemed quite decent. But we were in for a horrible surpise. The road leading to the hotel was in a terrible condition with zero lights. The rooms were in terrible condition as well. The fan wasn’t working, it had cobwebs and spider, one of the room also had a frog. It had dust all over the place. The door connecting the two rooms couldn’t be locked as the lock was broken. Hence, we had zero privacy. The manager said that’s a feature! The property is very poorly lit. Breakfast buffett had a lizard. Dinner was served an hour after taking the order. The management is totally irresponsible. They have created a mess. I was extremely embarrassed in front of my family for booking this hotel.
Arpan A — Google review
Enjoyed our stay here. Friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel grounds are very nice with beautiful plants and a pool, this exceeded my expectations for the price we paid. Could improve in some areas I.e. no towels in the room when we arrived and no hand soap in dispenser. TV and WiFi does not work.
Mildred — Google review
Very Disappointing Stay I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were dirty and clearly not cleaned properly before our arrival.no one to help with the bags for ladies, When we raised concerns, the staff seemed indifferent and made no real effort to help. To make matters worse, when it rained, water actually came into the room — completely unacceptable. The breakfast and dinner were both below average, and the staff rushed to have our breakfast so they could have their own ,with limited options and poor quality food.worse staff and management i have ever experienced, Overall, a very unpleasant experience.
Shan D — Google review
We stayed there for 3 nights and had a very pleasant experience! The rooms were spacious and cleaned. The food was good, but the best part was the beautiful garden. The pool could be cleaned better, but overall I would recommend this place.
Isabelle C — Google review
There were animals in the rooms, multiple dogs in the area, rooms were not ready until after 2 hours of the designated time, only one square port, no hot water, no WiFi, fan does not work, some bulbs were not there, favourism towards tourists, pool water not clean, pool seating area dogs sat on chairs, electricity went, but the food was good.
Selini F — Google review
We stayed there for 1 nights and had a very bad experience! The rooms were spacious but not proper cleaned. I noticed the spiders under the mattress. Air conditioners were not working properly. Wifi and Television not working but the best part was the beautiful garden. The pool could be cleaned better, 3 Dogs walking around and did a poo and wee near the pool.but overall I wouldn’t recommend this place. Very sad spending Rs 35000 for 2 rooms..
Prem B — Google review
Bad experience. Room was okay but service was pathetic. No blankets provided. I checked reception it was closed, there was noone. Kitchen was closed at 9:30 pm, even though we informed owner that we will do dinner at hotel. Still kitchen was closed. Hotel is at remote place, so finding food at 10 PM was challenging. Breakfast was also cold. Swimming Pool was also dirty.

Nelu Villa Sigiriya is a serene guesthouse located in Dambulla, offering comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi and hot water. The highlight of the accommodation is its beautiful pool set amidst picturesque rice fields, providing a priceless view of the surrounding landscape, including Pidurangala and Lion Rock. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, with friendly staff offering great service. The spacious rooms are clean and comfortable, while the delicious breakfast offers various options to choose from.
We had the best stay here! It’s a very peaceful place in Sigiriya with super super friendly staff that make you feel very welcome and at home. The rooms, pool and food are all excellent! It also provides a beautiful view of lions rock and the chance of seeing elephants walking passed the hotel. I highly recommend staying here for brilliant value!

We had a wonderful stay at Nelu Villa in Sigiriya. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel very comfortable. Our room was cozy and came with a mosquito. The pool was fantastic – a perfect way to cool off after a hot day. The bar service was excellent, and the lassis (milk and fruit smoothies) were absolutely delicious. We really enjoyed our time and would highly recommend staying here.
Beatriz L — Google review
Very good value hotel with very welcoming and helpful staff. They were always on hand to assist and were able to arrange safari and tuktuk for us. Food was decent as well. I think some small cleanliness issues in the room, but no problem as good value for money.
Tom G — Google review
We stayed here during our time in Sigiriya and absolutely loved the hospitality. The location is right in the town center — about a 5–8 minute walk to the main street and around 20 minutes to reach Lion Rock on foot. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly kind. He didn’t even ask for payment right away; he told us to settle in first and pay later if we were happy with the stay. We were welcomed with drinks, and the staff immediately helped us with our bags. Such a warm and genuine check-in! We had originally booked a triple room, but due to a small issue that was completely nature-related (no one’s fault at all), they quickly offered us two separate rooms instead. They even apologized, even though the situation wasn’t really their responsibility, and solved it right away. Breakfast isn’t included, but they have an open balcony-style restaurant with a direct view of Lion Rock — the view is stunning, especially in the morning. The pool also faces Lion Rock, and swimming with that scenery was such a highlight! The pool itself is newly renovated and very clean. The place overall is still fairly new — not a fully polished luxury hotel yet, but you can clearly see it’s becoming something great. The rooms are clean and modern, and the showers are excellent. What really makes the stay special is the people. The owner and staff are incredibly polite, helpful, and down-to-earth. One day, the owner even drove us into town himself. Check-in was smooth, and they were flexible with our check-out time as well. It may not be a five-star hotel, but the kindness, effort, and amazing Lion Rock views make it a 10/10 for me. I’m sure it will only get better with time. Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely stay!

One of the best hotels i have stayed in! Located is super, with amazing view over Sigiriya rock and also over looking great landscape with monkeys climbing the trees. The maybe owner said there is elephants in the area too but we didn’t see them. Booked by calling them and got an amazing room on the top floor with again amazing views. Staff was incredibly friendly and service minded, super helpful but not pushy at all. As i mentioned for me one of the best stays some people might not be as happy about the cleanliness, but after seeing the general Sri Lankan standard it was super. They do also have a restaurant and a bar, doesn’t come up here on google maps but they do and my partner said it was the best Sri Lankan brekky he had during or visit in the country. (only ate brekky) Maybe not the best food options for people who don’t eat animals but that’s alright! Not to forget, They also have a Pool!!

Great stay at Nelu Villa. Good location, a short walk into Sigiriya. Excellent views of the rock. Very helpful staff. We liked the swimming pool.

If you are looking for a unique experience in staying at nature and dont mind simple room, this place is ideal for you. The boss Mr Shanaka is friendly, accomodative and lovely guy. The staffs are equally friendly. They have one of the best restaurant and different type of food and even catered to our request for certain meals.

We had an amazing stay in the treehouse! Our amazing host UG built it himself with his father, it’s such a cool experience to spend the night here and wake up in the trees. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place and UG and his family makes you really feel at home. We didn’t want to leave!

Amazing family to stay with and great room for the price! The owner and family were so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious Sri Lankan food and the owner shared a lot about the history of Sri Lanka in the past 30 years and where the country wants to go. Personal highlight was the 3 dogs on the property. We will be returning again.

We stayed in their Treehouse and absolutely loved it – such a unique place. The owner and his family were very warm and welcoming. For breakfast, we had homemade chapati, and they even packed a lunch for our onward journey. They were very flexible with our timing, arranged a private car and driver for our transfer, and went above and beyond by mailing my forgotten headphones to me afterward. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

The experience was great. This place is peaceful with beautiful surroundings. The breakfast area looks out on the Lions' Rock. The room was clean and the owner was very helpful. He helped us out with tuktuks, early pickup for the sunrise etc. Across the road you can climb the boulders and watch the sunset. Walking to the city takes about 20min but you're accompanied by lots of birds and beautiful nature. We can only recommend this place.

Great place to stay in Sirigiya. Walkable to lion rock and pidurangala. We stayed in the treehouse which has a great view of both from the balcony. Room was very comfortable and especially a very comfy bed! Host was very friendly and helped us with all arrangements- including a scooter hire to drive to Polonnaruwa, which was one of our highlights.

We stayed at the treehouse and it was an amazing experience! Completely surrounded by nature, so we had the strongest urge to just relax there the whole day. At night, all you could hear were the soothing sounds of the jungle, and the owner was kind enough to switch off the lights so we could enjoy the magical fireflies. We also had some sassy but wonderful grey hornbill neighbors, which made it even more special.

River Retreat Sigiriya offers a delightful stay surrounded by lush greenery, creating a jungle-like atmosphere. The spacious and clean rooms with comfortable beds and mosquito nets provide a cozy retreat. The owner, Madu, is praised for her kindness and helpfulness in providing valuable insights on nearby attractions like Lions Rock. Guests appreciate the delicious breakfast and the serene ambiance of the place, making it an ideal choice for a relaxing getaway in Sri Lanka.
If you're staying in the town of Sigiriya, this is the place to stay. Madhu is so warm and welcoming and has a true appreciation for the nature and animals around here. The location is just like a minute walk to the main town of Sigiriya and also a 10-minute walk to Lion Rock. The rooms have everything you need and because it's tucked behind her family's home it's so quiet that you only hear the sounds of the jungle instead of cars.

Stayed here as a couple and had such a lovely experience. The nature around here is so so cool saw so many animals. The host is really informative and took us on a safari and told us so many interesting facts and was very knowledgeable. Beds were super comfy also.
Beth B — Google review
Madu was an incredible host. Super informative about the area, what to do and how to get around safely. Such affordable accommodation too! She is an animal activist who cares about the environment and the animals and her property reflects this. Amazing garden with trees and wildlife and super eco freindly. She does ethical safaris that do not disturb the elephants too. She was so fascinating, we talked at length about the environment, animals and life in general. She allowed us to keep our bags at the retreat after checking out until we had to leave in the evening. She's so accommodating and we appreciate this so much. The room itself was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Drying racks and washing lines to do washing too! Amazing walking distance from Lions Rock and all the great restaurants, and an amazing massage place right next door. The only improvements would be the shower which isn't great pressure and doesn't get warm. And the air conditioning didn't really reach all sides of the room. Also the monkeys and squirrels do jump on the roof so bring earplugs and this shouldn't be an issue in the evenings. Thank you so much again Madu. You were fantastic!

The abundance of trees, plants, and vibrant flowers created a magical atmosphere. went above and beyond, providing us with valuable insights on attractions, including the nearby Lions Rock. What a lovely place to stay in beautiful Sigiriya! We stayed in a small, private jungle retreat close to nice bars and Loin Rock so peaceful. La dolce vita was wonderful to stay at. The grounds and pool are beautiful and rooms are cosy and well maintained (also huge). But the staff are the highlight, so kind and attentive and the Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing! Thank you for our stay.

We had a very great time at La Dolce Vita. The rooms are liked described/shown and with only five rooms not crowed. The service was very great and the food (breakfast & dinner) very delicious. The highlight was the newly build pool, where you can relax after your sight seeing tours. Also they organized us tucked tucks for the day and a cap to Kandy. We would for sure come back again.

We loved this gorgeous hideaway in the jungle of Sigiriya! The pool was lovely and well shaded by mid afternoon. The rooms were clean and tidy with a balcony that overlooks the beautiful view of the pool. Easy walk into “town” albeit just a few hundred metres of restaurants and shops. The included breakfast was delicious and so nicely set out when served to us each morning in the lovely garden. We also chose to eat here one night for dinner and the food was again tasty and fresh. The most wonderful part of our stay at La Dolce Vita was the attentive staff which interestingly were all male (very common in Sri Lanka). They went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. It had a homestay feel and we would recommend to anybody wanting a great place to stay in Sigiriya.

We recently stayed here for 3 nights and we had a great time. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. The staff were kind, attentive, and helpful. Amazing breakfast as well. They kindly packed our breakfast when we were going out early, which was very helpful. One critic would be that on our last night, the toilet had mud/sand in it after flushing. Other than that, we had a great stay!

Great hotel! Located close to the road in walking distance to central part of Sigiriya town, but very quiet and peaceful. No noise from road or cafes, and sound insulation between rooms is good. People working here are very welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious and clean, AC worked good. The territory is beautiful with pond and greenery. Breakfast is also tasty and beautifully served. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hungry Lion Resort in Sigiriya, and I must say it exceeded my expectations, especially considering the value for money. The location is ideal, offering easy access to the nearby attractions such as the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The resort itself is nestled in a serene setting, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the standout features for me was the cleanliness of the place. The rooms were immaculate, offering everything needed for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping staff obviously take great pride in their work, as everything from the linens to the bathrooms was spotless. Beyond the cleanliness, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any inquiries I had. Their warm hospitality added to the overall positive experience. The resort also offers good amenities such as a restaurant serving delicious local cuisine, which I thoroughly enjoyed. All of this came at a very reasonable price point, making it a fantastic choice for budget-conscious travelers who don't want to compromise on quality. Overall, my stay at Hungry Lion Resort was a delightful experience marked by comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Sigiriya area.

Absolutely loved our time staying at the hungry lion. Beautiful hotel, amazing friendly and helpful staff. We stayed out of season so it was very quiet, but the staff were still very attentive and always around to help and chat. Perfect location, 20 min walk to the rock. Sandun and Mandu (and Ginger the puppy) were perfect hosts, our 1 year old daughter made a new best friend! The food was also very good. Big clean rooms and bathrooms. Can't recommend highly enough. Good value for money and they accept card payment 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We had a splendid two night stay at Hungry Lion Sigiriya. Best hotel we’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka! We were warmly welcomed by the lovely and always-smiling Sandun, who gave us local tips for attractions and restaurants, and helped us book transportation onwards. The rooms are spacious, clean and bright! The common area is beautifully decorated, and has multiple tables, a tv + Xbox. We were allowed to use the kitchen too. The breakfasts were delicious and so filling; they included fresh fruit juice of choice, eggs, toast, fresh fruit, and hoppers/or a coconut crepe. Hungry Lion exceeded our expectations. I highly highly recommend!!!

One of the best accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was so genuinely friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. Such a homely atmosphere, while also having a luxurious feeling. The beds were comfortable too. Thank you to the wonderful staff for this experience! Wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights.

Royal Rocky Sigiriya offers spacious and clean rooms, many of which come with a direct view of the iconic Sigiriya Rock — waking up to that scenery is truly special. The location is quiet and close enough to the main sights, yet feels removed from the tourist rush. The breakfast is simple but sufficient, with fresh fruit, toast, eggs, and tea/coffee — nothing fancy, but it does the job before a morning hike to the rock. Unfortunately, during our stay, the pool was not in a usable condition, which was a bit disappointing given the warm weather — hopefully it’s just a temporary issue. Staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic place with a great view of Lion’s Rock, this is definitely worth considering.

Great staff, very friendly and caring. They recommended us a good safari tour to a nearby national park too. Location a bit outside of the town's centre but we actually like the tranquility of the place. Nice views on the Lion Rock from balcony. The room was nice. Our AC did not work but we had a ventilator, so that was fine. Would come again. 🇱🇰🌄

We had a great stay in Royal Rock. The staff in the hotel were super friendly, especially Jaya who took good care of us. The breakfast was nice and we were always offered more food if we were still hungry. It is important to mention that the hotel is close to the jungle which has its advantages (you can see a lot of monkeys and birds if you are lucky), but also has some disadvantages (there might be some insects in the room from time to time (e.g. grasshoppers) and when you return from the city center at night, you must be careful because there sometimes can be wild elephants. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.

Guests appreciate the owner's kindness and helpfulness in arranging tours and providing local information.
Incredible place, even more incredible people! Firstly, an incredibly convenient location for both Pidurangala and Lion Rock - and lovely that the property is amongst/surrounded by nature Peaceful and beautiful! Secondly, our hosts, the wonderful family who live at and run the home stay, were so warm and welcoming - even within the space of our short stay (2 nights), we felt like part of their family! We actually felt very sad to leave - but are so glad we chose to stay at Thal Sewana, and are extremely grateful for their hospitality and the chance to meet and get to know such wonderful people. Lastly (and nearly as important as the previous point!), our food (home cooked) was stunning. We had breakfast and dinner both days we were there - and what a treat! The nourishing ingredients and the warm, comforting flavours of the Sri Lankan dishes we were served, left us with very satisfied bellies and big smiles. The communal outside seating area and the garden was also great for relaxing in the sun with our books and for playing UNO in the evening whilst enjoying a cold beer!

Our stay was wonderful! The host is incredibly helpful and attentive to everything. What we really appreciated is that she treats you as a guest, not just as a tourist – she doesn’t try to take your money at every step, in fact she even helps you avoid being overcharged by recommending places and things to do at fair local prices. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom spotless with no ants at all. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the dinner she personally cooked for us was amazing. She respected our request for “no spicy food” (although I enjoy spice, it was still tasty and very well prepared) and the price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again!

My experience at Thal Sewana Hotel was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, my girlfriend and I were welcomed with a warmth and hospitality that could only come from its owner, who is undoubtedly one of the kindest and sweetest people we’ve ever met. The hotel is the perfect place to disconnect from the technological world and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by tranquility, this little paradise has all the necessary amenities to relax and enjoy the beauty of Sigiriya. Every detail of the place is designed to provide a unique experience, and waking up every morning to a stunning view of Pidurangala Mountain while having breakfast is simply priceless. I especially want to thank the owner for her attention and care in preparing my meals, knowing that I am allergic to sesame. Her thoughtfulness and effort to ensure I could eat safely is something I deeply appreciate. That level of detail and kindness made our stay even more special. Would definitely come again ! Pool was perfect and staff so helpful and friendly. For the price we paid, it was really worth it so I put 5 stars but I wouldn’t pay more for it (around 25000lkr at the time) Just few hiccups: Not enough insulation between the rooms (if your neighbours wake up at 5 o clock so will you) The rooms are very very big but we really could have used a mosquito net … They where doing a lot of renovation starting at 7:30-8:00 so we woke up in the bangs against the wall 🥲 Anyway staff was amazingly kind

The place is incredibly cheap. To our big surprise breakfast was even included. The owner is the most educated person I met in tourism in Sri Lanka ( a former doctor). The place is THE CLEANEST place U have seen in Sri Lanka. OUTSTANDING clean!!! Even for western European standards it's extremely clean! AC was also very good, beds really comfy and service to organize drivers was perfect. Why 4 and not 5 stars? Because noise insulation is missing in the house and we could hear our neighbors. Street noise? No, nothing at all, place is literally at the end of the road in the jungle. Absolutely quiet in this perspective. Would I come again? Yes

While the hotel and garden were undeniably beautiful, the overall experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the behavior of the owner. We inquired about laundry service and were informed it could be dropped off at the reception for 700 RS per kilo, which seemed fair. However, when we received our laundry two days later, it was returned unclean—still smelly and clearly either not washed or washed very poorly. We politely requested a refund, as we would need to rewash the items ourselves before wearing them. Initially, the response was agreeable, but it quickly escalated into an unnecessary and uncomfortable discussion. The blame was shifted to us, with the explanation that if laundry is brought in “smelly,” it will come back “smelly.” In our understanding, this defeats the entire purpose of a laundry service. Eventually, we did receive a refund, and the manager later explained that the staff member responsible had likely forgotten to add detergent. He went on to mention that if this happens again, that employee would not be paid—a highly unprofessional comment to share with a guest. Additionally, the owner seemed overly focused on upselling expensive activities, which are available at significantly lower prices through other providers. Guests should be aware and compare before booking. On a positive note, the rest of the staff were very friendly and courteous. I genuinely feel sorry for them, as they seemed to be doing their best in a difficult environment.

Break fast was delayed moretha n one hour and satisfied with the breakfast.all linen was shaded and old.hotwater was not working.we booked this ugly hotel through bokking.com and its misleaded us to chose this hotel.not satisfied with the management and entire stay in this hotel. Unethical Practice That Harms Local Businesses I’m deeply disappointed with this hotel’s unprofessional behavior. They are openly offering transportation prices and services to guests — despite transportation not being part of their registered business. This kind of activity not only lacks transparency but also directly harms licensed taxi drivers and local tour companies, who depend on fair competition and proper regulation to survive. Hotels should focus on hospitality, not try to control other industries just to make extra profit under the table. It damages trust, encourages unregulated services, and creates an unfair environment for those of us who follow the rules and pay for permits, insurance, and proper operations. I strongly advise management to stop these unethical practices and stick to their actual business. Let the professional transport providers do their job.

A budget place. There are many other places to get food arround here. Better to stay only and get food from outside. For children, the place, 5 out of 10 i can give. Break is free and quit manageable. We were stayed in the Bangalore. Two rooms, one common and one attached bathroom ( very small), big lobby and tbe common bathroom is quite a large size. It costs 16000 for one night with free breakfast ( 2 adults and three children)

This hotel was a complete disappointment. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the place was not properly maintained. The rooms were dirty, the bathrooms smelled bad, and the entire property felt neglected. Basic cleanliness was clearly not a priority. On top of that, the owner was rude, arrogant, and constantly trying to push overpriced services and tours just to make extra money. It felt like he was trying to take advantage of every guest — like a thief hiding behind a fake smile. There was no sense of hospitality, only a focus on squeezing as much money as possible from visitors. I would never stay here again and strongly advise others to avoid this place. It’s unclean, untrustworthy, and absolutely not worth your time or money.

My wife booked the hotel before I could even have a look. The room was supposed to have a kettle -- no kettle. No chair for the desk. It is really sad that they don't take card payment either. The pillow -- only one -- was shamefully pathetic. The worst part was that the door to the washroom was really low. I kept bumping my head on it at night. I mentioned this to the manager and he made light of it.. as if it was funny. To be fair.. the breakfast was good and the staff were cordial. They transfered us to a different room on the second night, as we could not cancel our reservation. In that room the floor was uneven. There was a drop-off right next to bed! That's a first for me too. It makes you stumble when you slip out of bed a night. The hotel is a little way off the road and had a bumpy drive. You could easily miss the entrance. Both of us were %100 unimpressed. Stuff like uneven floors and extremely low doors: you just don't expect at a $100 plus hotel, let alone any hotel! We were happy to move on.

We stayed here for 1 night and I'd recommend it. It's a bit out, which means it's quiet, but walkable from restaurants and supermarket. The rooms were clean, bed was comfy, mosquito net and AC. Family host were welcoming and friendly. Kids loved the pool, it's a great size. Breakfast was good too, omelette, felruit and coconut roti. For the price, this is amazing!

Had a fabulous stay with Ishika and Malisha, a lovely family run accommodation with clean rooms, modern bathrooms, lovely pool and outdoor area. Enjoyed a home cooked dinner which was one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka and Ishika was a great local driver and unofficial tour guide helping us visit Dambulla and Polonnawaru as well as local recommendations. Great place to stay. We had breakfast included also which was delicious.

great overnight stay as a base for nearby attractions. overnight stay and breakfast ok, although there was a musty smell in the mosquito net, bed and one of our rooms, and therefore in the bed. climatic pool, and the hosts were very nice.

Have been in Sri Lanka for a few weeks now. This resort is the nicest we have stayed at. The hosts/managers were exceptional. Could not do enough for you. Rooms clean and very well appointed. Hot water++ Brand new magnificent pool. Clear and cool. They sell beers at a good price. Breakfast included. Excellent. Had a couple of evening meals cooked by mother that was 10/10. They have a washing machine you can use. They even hung out my washing for me. Such a lovely young couple. Walking distance to a ton of restaurants if you want to eat out. They can arrange drivers for all of the must see sights. This place is easily a 10/10. Thanks for an excellent 4 nights

Nice View Lodge offers top-notch accommodations in Sri Lanka with immaculately clean and beautiful rooms. The highlight is the stunning garden that provides a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. The hospitable host, Udika, goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable stay by offering assistance with recommendations and trip organization. Guests can enjoy delicious breakfasts featuring fresh local dishes in the picturesque garden. While the lodge is located a bit far from the main street, it offers fantastic views of Lions Rock.
The entrance was a little hidden, and there was no office, but the host came out when we arrived and showed us to our room. Fruit juice was provided once we settled in, which we had on the balcony. Rooms were great and very clean, the bathroom large and very nice. Breakfast was great, a recommended out of the way gem.

We stayed three nights at the Nice View Lodge and felt very comfortable. The room was spacious, very clean, and equipped with air conditioning and a mosquito net over the bed. You can sit beautifully on the terrace in the lush green garden to watch the birds. Udika is a great and very friendly host, and every morning breakfast is lovingly prepared with different dishes. We also received great tips for excursions and restaurants in Sigiriya. The accommodation truly lives up to its name, as you have a wonderful view of Lion Rock right outside the door. We would definitely come back.💛

Lovely place to stay, off the beaten track, quiet and very spacious, clean and lovely room right at the top floor - with a cute balcony and views. The gardens are amazing, like a jungle with many gorgeous plants - and they serve beautiful varied breakfast. The only thing to note is, when you arrive late it's hard to find food nearby, with no reception it was a little hard to get information from the owner. But walk down the road and you'll find "Ceylon Hut" a family-run delicious little restaurant 😅

Amazingly super awesome stay! We had been to this cottage in Dec 2023. I know it's too late to post, but it's better to post late than never. This property is surrounded by nature and too much of greenery. If you're looking for a peaceful stay, this is probably the place you should try. The host was so welcoming, friendly, and he was super helpful in recommending places to visit, he even arranged an auto for us. We were served passion fruit as welcome drink. The dinner was utterly delicious and he also considered our food requests & morning breakfast was yum. The room was pretty spacious, we liked his hospitality, the property, trees, noises of wildlife, and everything about this place. There are other activities as well that you can plan for. Overall we had a wholesome experience.

If I could give 10 stars for service, I would do that. I have never seen such a welcoming family all working together to provide you a wonderful stay. This felt like my family in Sri Lanka. I am especially going to miss the grandmother. Thanks!

I am rating this property more on the impression then personal experience because, sadly, it rained so heavily during my stay that the roof started leaking and got the entire bathroom and parts of the bedroom wet and I could not enjoy the beautiful balcony and garden at all. Still, I could easily see that in a more stable season the place is a true paradise. As others mention, the breakfast is regal. Please note that the house is about 30-minute walk from the main restaurant/bar area but the isolation is the best part of it, in addition to the lovely host family.
Olivera L — Google review
The host family made us feel very homey and was always helpful. We had lots of chats with different members of the family, especially with one of the sons. The room was basic, but clean and tidy. Facilities were in good condition and the bed comfortable. Located in the more quiet part of Sigiriya (15 min walk) which is a great escape. Complimentary breakfast was rich and we ate dinner twice at the home stay (you can request any Sri Lankan meal for ~LKR 3000 for 2pax). Even a last minute/late request for dinner when a tropical downpour prevented us from leaving the property was accommodated! We organized the elephant sunrise safari through the homestay and received a breakfast package + water before departure at 6am, however cheaper options are available in town.

The hospitable family that runs the home stay provides helpful service and organizes tours with their own tuk-tuk. Guests also appreciate the spacious rooms with all necessary facilities.
We had such an amazing stay in Sigiriya at River side homestay. Firstly, the home and rooms are beautiful and our hosts were incredibly helpful and kind, driving us to any activities we wanted to and giving us suggestions. This made our trip so special and hassle-free. Also, the meals and breakfasts were delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough! Wifi worked well!

The hosts are very kind. The humidity in the room was a bit high, that's why the bed felt alittle bit damp. But the diner they served us was very amazing. The best we had in the last two weeks. The swimming pool is also very nice and clean. And the shower was also very good. Hot water and a good waterpressure.

We stayed 3 nights with Indica and Hansi and their multigenerational family. They all work so hard to ensure the home stay is clean and tidy and that you are happy and well looked after. The pool is absolutely lovely but there was construction for another accommodation block going on and another big site being built next door so it was a bit noisy when we were there. We had two evening meals with the most amazing selection of side dishes to complement the curry and rice. Great breakfasts too. I highly recommend this place to stay to explore the area.

The position is very good, slightly away form the main road and 10 min walk away from the “center” of city but with a lot of restaurants nearby. The rooms are ok compared to the to the price of the structure and our one was minimal but clean. The pool is a really nice and must have add on for your visit and, since there not a lot of rooms, it’s not crowed and you can relax properly. The included breakfast is hand made with local bread butter and jelly with juice, simple but really good. The owner is extremely helpful and can help you organize a tour and take you to visit different places

A well managed home stay by the host; Indica and his wife! They are very hospitable and suggested to visit the steam nearby for fish to nibble on your feet! They have cosy rooms (ensure the beds don't squeak) with clean and neatly laid out beds and towels. They also have a fan and an AC. Tea and coffee sachets were provided as well as options for supper. We requested them for breakfast and they stunned us with their through English styled eggs, toast, tea, coffee and saffron pancakes... which were so ooh la la delicious 🤤! We spotted peacocks in the morning and early evenings around the swimming pool in the property. Kindly carry swim wear for your visit.

The coordinator is a very nice person with huge helping tendency. Gave me and my family a nice A frame stay though I was almost fighting the previous night as booking wasn’t confirmed. The location was fantastic inside a forest with a small water stream inside the facility where we had some natural fish therapy. The pool was maintained very neat and clean.

Sigiri Rainbow Lodge is a charming accommodation located just a short walk from Sigiriya Rock. Guests appreciate the exceptional value for money, the caring family who runs the lodge, and their assistance in organizing tours at competitive prices. The delicious breakfast includes local pastries and rolls, while the convenient location allows for easy access to Sigiriya Park.
Fantastic accommodation. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have good hot water and air conditioning. The breakfast was excellent with very generous portions. The owner is really friendly and helpful, with suggestions of what to do, and was happy to arrange tuktuks to the main sights etc. It's really close to the entrance of Sigiriya, and about 3-4km away from Piddurangula. It's pretty quiet, so not amazing if you're looking to meet people here, but ideal for a quiet solo trip or if you're a couple or a family. I also thought it was really good value - highly recommended!

Really nice and good location. You can walk to Lions Rock and the town from here. The owners were really friendly and I think they’re waited up for us to come back at night. There was something running around in the walls of one of the upstairs rooms, either a monkey or a dog. It made an absolute racket but other than that it was great. Clean sheets, AC, wifi, warmish water. Our group has spent the last 2 weeks travelling together, it was the perfect place for our final 2 nights as we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

The house is run down, the outside stairwell wall is full of mold. Cockroaches in the downstairs rooms. My bathroom had not been cleaned prior to checkin. No ceiling fan, so with the humidity paying extra for the AC is a must. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful, the location is great and the rooms would be nice, but upkeep is much-needed.

There was a renovation going on when I was there. So, don't judge by the prior comment. I got the room clean, a very large clean bathroom with air conditioning at a very cheap price. I also liked the common area and the verandah space. This is very close to Lion rock, so if you wish to visit very early in the morning, then it could be a perfect place for you. The owner is very jolly as well as the manager. All the time they are speaking with a smile.

My experience at Sigiri Rainbow Lodge was satisfactory, with spacious room & toilet, and kind owner uncle. The beds had mosquito nets, and aircon (1,000 LKR per night) and ceiling fan worked fine. But the ceiling fan was quite noisy, probably due to wear & tear over time. Please lubricate them! The toilet also had many unexpected friends - frog, lizard, and spider! I hate Spider, but Frog and Lizard were fine. They help to eat flies, so do not kill them. Overall, it was a good stay. When my partner was down with food poisoning, the owner uncle drove us to a nearby clinic with his own car, even though it was late in the evening. He didn't even ask for payment, but I insisted on paying him for his help. We are very thankful to the owner uncle for his kindness!

Decent place to stay tucked in a beautiful jungle garden. We stayed two nights. Breakfasts were delicious and different each morning with local delicacies. Hosts were friendly and set up an excellent elephant safari. Highly recommend using their safari hookup as it started at 11:30 am, avoiding the morning and afternoon crowds. Saw so many elephants! The A/C unit in the room didn't work, which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Hosts gave us a floor fan the second night that helped tremendously.
Erik W — Google review
Absolutely appalling experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. The place was a far cry from the pictures on Airbnb, and upon arrival, we were shockingly kicked out under the false pretense of being locals, despite booking from Canada with Canadian currency. They callously canceled our reservation on the spot, leaving us stranded in the middle of nowhere amidst rain and thunderstorms. Adding insult to injury, they callously refused to issue a refund. Avoid this place at all costs. It was hands down the worst experience imaginable.

Beautiful breakfast and the hosts were very accommodating and lovely. The room was clean and basic but sufficient for our needs. We didn't try the pool as we were busy, but it looked inviting. Had a lovely 1 night stay at Chanaka. We arrived at night so it was a bit tricky at first to find it as the road was dark. The inn is quite close to the Sigiriya Rock entrance as well as a lake with a view point of the rock. Had a really delicious breakfast here as well. Quaint and quiet.

Upon arrival, we were given a very warm welcome. We really enjoyed our time here! In the mornings, we had a delicious breakfast, and the warm shower and air conditioning made everything very comfortable. We also booked an elephant safari through the homestay, which was super fun! I would recommend it to everyone!

Not recommended. After climbing down from sigiriya we came back to the room with full of sweat and no water there. We complained few times but no water for 2hrs. We left immediately. Owner is carless and doesn't know how to treat guists. You can find much better places than this. 👎

The owner is really really nice. He gave us great advise on where to go and even picked us up in the morning at 5 am to bring us to the pidurangala rock. After that he even offered to bring us to Kandy where we needed to go for a very good price. Even on the way he showed us all the good sightings. The Room was what you would expect from such a cheap price but all in all it was fine. Thanks a lot!

We booked the accommodation via Booking.com because of the good reviews. However, we can't quite understand that... the bed sheets were dirty with stains, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and only a piece of hand soap that was already worn out. The bed was totally loveless and there were no blankets. The breakfast was good on the first day but after that there was only dry bread with banana. The location is good and for the price the expectations were not too high, but the basics should still fit.

We’ve had a great stay with this friendly family. We directly had an at home feeling. The city Center of Sigirya is a 5 Minute walk and the Homestay is located in a wonderful and green garden. The rooms a simple but clean, the bed is very comfortable. Chanaka and his wife Saku were really kind and helpful. Also there a the possibility to book an Elefant Safari or a cooking class. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the price. Thank you so much! 😊

We booked through Booking at a certain price, but when we checked out, they told us we had to pay double. The room was dirty, there were no sheets except for the bottom one, and the soap in the bathroom had already been used by previous guests. When we arrived, there was no water in the room and we had to call the owner and wait a couple of hours. It was a really bad experience The only “good “ thing was the location.

Sigiriya Green Garden Homestay is a charming accommodation located just 350 meters from Sigiriya Tank and 10 km from Sigiriya Air Force Base airport. The homestay offers Wi-Fi and free private parking for guests. Visitors have praised the warm hospitality of the host, who ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern amenities. Guests particularly enjoyed the homemade food provided at the homestay.
This place is amongst all the others just up the road from the heart of tourist central - Sigiriya. Really friendly staff and very helpful. Organised a moped for us and arranged breakfast at the time we asked, polite and accommodating. Room we had on ground floor was big and spacious but you can't open the windows so either pay extra for AC or use the fans provided. Take mosquito repellant too as there is a lot of water around the grounds. Accommodation totally adequate for the price charged. Would stay again.

Do yourself a favor and do not stay here! We booked in advance through booking.com and got there at 2 in the afternoon (as check-in was available from 12). Only a handyman was around on the premises who shoved his phone into our hands with his boss on the line. We were told that the previous guests were still occupying the room and had gone out for the day, he promised that he would contact the previous guests and have the room cleaned asap, claiming we wouldn’t have to wait more than an hour. We told him it wasn’t a problem and that he didn’t need to hurry as we were going for a long walk anyway. When we returned 4 hours later, a man with a smug smile that called himself the boss was waiting for us. He told us that the room wasn’t available anymore and that we had to cancel the booking but that he would provide us with a room in one of his other properties. At this point they had made us wait so long that it was too late to book anything else so we hesitantly agreed. Our new room was in a sorry state and nothing close to what we had booked. When we complained, the man with the smug smile apparently wasn’t the boss anymore all of a sudden. He offered us a meager discount of 2 USD and a free breakfast, which was included in the initial price anyway. We didn’t have another option so we were forced to take the deal. In our new room there was no AC, no WiFi and no towels but as compensation we got a free cockroach for a roommate. Overall, we have to call it the worst experience we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Almost all people we’ve met in this country are incredibly nice and helpful (including the other staff at the home stay) but this smug boss figure was one of the few exceptions. Extra message for smug boss man: We’ve seen your responses to the other bad reviews on google so don’t come on here claiming this was not at your place. Just be a man and take it on the chin for once. Maybe if you stopped denying and worked on some of the criticism, you wouldn’t get as many bad reviews.

I can't describe the experience we had at this place in any other way. From the very beginning, things got off on the wrong foot. As soon as we arrived, we were asked for cash payment, which was unusual compared to our experiences at other places where we usually pay at the end of our stay. What's more, the photos online didn't match the rooms we were assigned at all. We had booked the house to all be together, but they split us up into several different buildings. Next, they showed us the rooms, which were unfortunately infested with insects. While this was an annoyance, we didn't consider it an insurmountable problem and accepted the situation. The real issue, however, became apparent soon after: there was no water in any of the rooms we had booked. We reported the problem to the managers, and their response was nothing short of shocking and unacceptable: "If you don't like it, you can leave, and we'll give you a refund." A refund that, after just a few minutes, seemed to have vanished into thin air along with the managers themselves, who disappeared. At that point, we were forced to call the police to resolve the situation. Their presence didn't intimidate the managers, who returned and became extremely aggressive and rude, yelling at us. Only thanks to the police's mediation, after more than two hours of an exhausting argument, were we able to get a partial refund, amounting to eighty percent of what we had paid. It was an experience to forget. I strongly advise anyone against staying at this establishment.

The bathroom locked itself. We couldn’t enter the bathroom for over 10 hours. The staff was not to be found in order to help us either switch rooms or let us access the bathroom. Wifi was not good, rooms were okay. Extra surcharge for using the AC. We booked the room according to booking.com with AC, upon arrival, we were told to only be able to use the fan function and an additional 5 USD per night for AC. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but with all the bad experiences decided to leave after the first night. The hotel staff needed 4 people in order to unlock and BUILD OUT our bathroom door knob and it took them 1 hour for us to be able to get our things back. When asking for compensation, they showed no flexibility and we had to chat to the owner, who was woken up by the staff to talk to us. (At 10 am). No understanding for our complaints and still charged one full night. The place does not look like on the pictures, the so-called “green garden” is to be wished for. Do not recommend this place, at least not as long as the owner is the same. Staff tried their best, but sometimes also the best is not enough. Low expectations but still left disappointed…

I have been here today with my 13 friends, we later found out that the house didn't had any water sistem, so it was impossible to shower or even use the WC. As soon as we came they asked for our money, we figured out why!! Cause they didn't had water. When we asked for the refound (so we could search for another place to stay) they said they would refound us (at first). But then after some time, when we asked again, they told us they wouldn't refound us the same day, but the following days, also they would have given us only 80% of our money! Its really ridicoulus, we had to get the police involved to get our money back! For those who thinks we exagerated, we would have stayed even without water, if they warned us. But they didn't say anything about it and also demanded 20% of the total price when we didn't spend an hour in that house. Just to be clear, the rooms were bad aswell, dirty and full of insects. Hope this helps people in the future.

Dirty, have to pay for the AC, no water and when there is it is cold. Bad service, no towels, no pillows and no blankets. But location is ok. Not worth it.

Our recent stay at this homestay was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel like we were visiting an old friend. The host, an absolutely wonderful person, went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect in every way. The rooms were not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, and the modern, well-maintained toilet added to our overall comfort. It's clear that the host takes great pride in maintaining the homestay to the highest standards. One of the standout features of this homestay is its location. With numerous restaurants and cafes nearby, we had no shortage of options for delicious meals and coffee. What truly made our experience exceptional was the peaceful ambiance of the homestay. Nestled in a serene neighborhood, we felt like we were far removed from the hustle and bustle. What touched our hearts the most was the thoughtful surprise we received upon our arrival. The host had prepared a beautiful wedding anniversary message in our room, which was a heartwarming gesture. It demonstrated their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests, making us feel truly special. In summary, our stay at this homestay was an absolute delight. It combined the comforts of home with the luxury of a high-end accommodation. We felt safe, welcomed, and cherished throughout our visit. If you're looking for a magical experience in a charming location with an incredible host, this homestay should be your top choice.

Such a lovely place with a sweet family living there. You get big private room with a patio, and everything you need. During our stay we could hear and see a few peacocks nearby, which was nice. My favorite thing was the homemade food - it was very very tasty, and that was the best Kattu I’ve had in Sri Lanka.

Sigiri Mount Villa is a hidden gem in the Sigiriya area, offering comfortable accommodation and an exceptional culinary experience. The villa provides a home-like atmosphere with attentive hosts and comfortable rooms equipped with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy delicious traditional Sri Lankan meals, including local green salads, potatoes, and a choice of chicken or fish. The friendly staff and great service make it a highly recommended place for those seeking an authentic and memorable stay in Sri Lanka.
It’s the second time I’m in Sri Lanka- and both times I went there for a meal. A wonderful place! This time I went there for dinner twice. The food was so delicious that I couldn’t stop eating )) although there was so much food (local green grass salads, potatoes, some local vegetables - I forgot all the names although the host Onura told me - chicken or fish at your choice, wonderful wood apple juice which I totally adore, etc etc etc) that I could not finish it. The price for this quality is surprisingly reasonable. I very much wish this place further prosperity !!

A small accommodation with big, kind hearts. A warm-hearted couple running a cozy guesthouse together. We truly enjoyed our stay. If I were to summarize it in bullet points: • Excellent price for the services provided • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by the host, who is a professional chef, at the lowest prices compared to other places • No need to go to a restaurant • Food prices lower than anywhere else • Kind and calm hosts I have stayed in many five-star hotels, but I will truly miss this guesthouse and this lovely couple. I highly, highly recommend experiencing it

We had a truly wonderful stay at Sigiri Mount Villa. From the moment we arrived, the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They were incredibly attentive and kind, always making sure that we had everything we needed for a lovely stay. The whole place has a really warm, family atmosphere, which made it feel very special and homely. We chose to have both dinner and breakfast here, and both meals were absolutely delicious. There was a fantastic selection of authentic Sri Lankan dishes, all cooked with so much care and flavour. Our room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable, with a lovely en-suite bathroom. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, which made our stay extra relaxing. I honestly couldn’t recommend Sigiri Mount Villa highly enough. The owners are truly wonderful people, and we would absolutely love to return in the future!

We had a great stay. The accommodation was very clean including a mosquito net and hot water. The owners were super friendly and gave us tips for activities. But the best thing was the food. Our stay at Banda's place was amazing. He greeted us with homemade juices and made sure that we felt at home right from the beginning. He offered complimentary breakfast which was plenty and very tasty. We even got the chance to enjoy a home cooked dinner by his mum! The place itself is a true oasis, located next to Sigiriya. Yet, you feel like you are in the jungle. Everything looks like the pictures. Also, Banda organized everything to make our stay even more wonderful. He helped us with renting a scooter, getting to Sigiriya and doing an elephant safari. Banda made sure that we always got the best value for money. Overall, Banda's place is a true paradise which we can only recommend! It was one of the best places that we ever stayed :)

Nestled in the heart of Sigiriya, Peaceful Sigiriya Guesthouse offers a tranquil and rejuvenating retreat amidst nature. The upper floor room features air conditioning, essential furnishings, and a cozy queen-size bed with views of the lush garden. Guests can unwind on the small outdoor patio while savoring their favorite beverages. Run by Anura, a retired chef and gracious host, this family homestay provides an authentic village experience.
We had an amazing stay at Anuras house. The price more or less matches the interior and quality of the accommodation. However, our personal highlight were the breakfast and paid dinners cooked by Chef Anura and his wife. They’ve been by far the best food we had during our 3-week trip to Sri Lanka. The only thing that could’ve been better is the topic of punctuality, as agreed upon times for dinner never worked out (~30-45 minutes delay usually).
Franz D — Google review
We arrived late in the evening on our first day and Anura (the host) immediately spent an hour in the kitchen cooking us the most delicious selection of Sri Lankan meals. In a cooking class he and his wife also taught us how to make a variety of meals. The room is clean, the host family is extremely nice, the food is the best. Can only recommend!

Book this place asap and don’t waste your time eating anywhere else. You won’t get better! Anura’s home stay and cooking was magic. Such a sweet and helpful family. Superb stay, if you want to relax at a village environment, this is your place. Anura is a retired chef who has been running his family homestay for 10 years. He is an excellent host and great chef showcasing the best of Sri Lankan dishes as you can ask him to cook you dinner. He also provides cooking classes which we took where we prepared various dishes and put down the recipes. He helped us organise tours around Sigiriya and found a reliable driver when we left to our next stay. Our room was well equipped, clean with good air conditioning and good WiFi. Will definitely revisit if we return.

Philipp M — Google review
If you plan to experience Sigiriya as it really is then Anura’s home is the perfect spot for you. Located right in the middle of mother nature…he offers a very peaceful and relaxing accommodation. The room on the upper floor has an AC room with all the basic furniture and a comfortable queen size bed with side window offering a pan view to the adjacent garden. There is also a small patio-type arrangement outside the room which can be used to enjoy your favourite drink amidst nature. Anura and his wife are fantastic chefs; they served us some of the most delicious traditional Sri Lankan dishes. We loved his food so much that we intentionally de-toured on our way back to pay him a second visit (just for the food!!!). He also helps with arranging jungle safari at additional costs. We highly recommend this place in Sigiriya! Cheers!

One of the most picturesque home stays we’ve been to over our past 11 months traveling. Garmini is a fantastic and friendly host and his Sri Lankan breakfast is incredible. The views are stunning of the rice paddy fields and it’s a perfect location, close to town, and especially to Lion Rock. Only con is the noisy neighbours, we heard loud bass from all four directions over our three days (from 7am to 10pm) but this seems like a Sigiriya problem, and it will be the same wherever you stay. 10/10 will come back.

Staying in a tree hut with a rice field view in Sri Lanka is truly enchanting. The sight of the vibrant green fields stretching out before you adds a peaceful, picturesque element to the experience. There’s a special tranquility in watching the gentle breeze ripple through the rice plants, especially at sunrise or sunset. To top it off, the host here is incredible—warm, attentive, and eager to share insights into local culture and nature. Their hospitality makes you feel like family, enhancing the stay with authentic stories and tips that make you feel deeply connected to the place. With such a scenic view and a caring host, this tree hut stay is the perfect blend of adventure and comfort, ideal for anyone wanting a memorable escape into Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.

The experience is unique, as you live a stone throw away from the lion rock between rice fields and Papaya, Mango and Banana trees. The host is super friendly and serves all homegrown fruits for breakfast.
Philipp E — Google review
I am not one to leave a bad review without discussing it prior, but the reasons are obvious and are in many other 1* reviews on a third party website. In my opinion the property is neither safe or fit for purpose, despite being a lovely built treehouse in an EXCELLENT location with beautiful surroundings. 1. The biggest issue for me is that some “windows” have no mesh where it’s damaged and removed, and others have big holes. This would allow any animal or person to enter the property quite easily. I can see this is only the case for one of the two huts. 2. The mosquito net around the bed has big holes in it, so is pointless. The whole experience of getting ready in pitch black, smothered in deet with incense burning was unpleasant but required due to the window and net issue 3. The only place to sit inside the property is the bed and as you don’t want to disturb the net with holes repeatedly, that’s not great. 4. There was NO hot water. This was not a problem for me after a hot walk, but isn’t ideal! There is a boiler here in shower, but doesn’t work 5. The bed linen has holes. 6. The toilet seat is not attached on side, so moves a lot when sat on it, so is broken 7. The steps up are slanted with uneven gaps - not a problem for me but may be an issue for others. 8. The front door is not secure - I think a shoulder barge would break the lock - not that you’d need to because you could just climb through the window frames with no inserts if you desired. There are two bolt locks on the front door which do not work. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place - you would have similar facilities/security in a tent. However, the young person who greeted us on check in/out and at breakfast was pleasant. It was great to try an assortment of things at breakfast and was the reason for 2 stars not

I appreciate the quality of this establishment! The proprietors are extremely welcoming, kind, and accommodating. The accommodations were spacious, tidy, and equipped with both air conditioning and a fan. Additionally, they provided a scrumptious morning meal featuring fresh fruits sourced from their own garden. For an authentic experience of Sri Lankan hospitality, I highly recommend visiting this homestay. Moreover, its advantageous proximity to rice fields, a lake, and picturesque viewpoints adds to its allure.
Room was large, had hot water, you have a nice balcony large enough to do yoga, the owner is a super nice lady. She loves doing her cooking class but she will also be happy if you have dinner. Dinner 500 mts away also really good, and at the restaurant she recomends, same. Her son has a tuktuk and he took us for dinner for free, which was very nice.

Our three-night stay at Rock Lake Home Stay was something really special. From the second we arrived, we felt wrapped in care and kindness. Anoma, the heart of the home, greeted us with a glass of fresh juice and a smile that instantly made us feel welcome like we’d arrived at a long-lost friend’s house, not just a guesthouse. Every morning started with a beautiful breakfast, but it was the dinners that truly touched us. Anoma’s cooking is full of soul every dish felt like a warm hug. We never even considered eating anywhere else. Her food brought us so much joy, it became one of the highlights of our entire trip. We also had the chance to take a cooking class with her, and it wasn’t just about the food. It was about connection, stories, laughter, and learning from someone who puts so much love into what she does. Our driver, Patum, was also wonderful kind, reliable, and always making sure we were comfortable and safe. But what really makes this place unforgettable is Anoma herself. She looked after us with so much genuine care that it was hard to say goodbye. It didn’t feel like checking out of a homestay. It felt like leaving family. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep if you want warmth, connection, and memories that stay in your heart Rock Lake Home Stay is where you need to be.

Anoma is like your mom away from home. She and her family are amazing and super welcoming. I’m traveling alone and felt super at home with them. The place is clean, good facilities, pretty good WiFi considering, and good value for money. We did a cooking class with her and Rosi, and it was amazing to see how they cook everyday meals in their kitchen including different types of curry: dhal, pumpkin, chicken, potatoes, and beans. I told her I liked coconut rotti and coconut sambal and she surprised me with it for breakfast the next day. Sometimes she has wild elephants on her backyard at night and since she knew I liked them, she came to my room to tell me there was a male one for me to see. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Location is perfect not far from the Lion Rock, and close to the lake where you can go for a nice sunset walk with view on the rock! And about the owner, Anoma, she is such a lovely lady, very kind and took care of us like a mum. Very good breakfast and nice chat! Will definitely come back!

The Another Night Hostel is the perfect place to stay for all backpackers visiting Sigiriya! All rocks as well as the bus stand are reachable by walk or a short tuktuk ride. The rooms were clean and we had a warm shower, amazing! The host is very communicative and is always open for a nice chat in the garden or the restaurant! I can definitely recommend this place!

Such a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are lovely, the beds super comfortable. Mosquito nets and fans provided. Hot shower is amazing and wifi is available (patchy at times). Everything very clean and well looked after. A short walk from the bus stop in Sigiriya. The hosts Mali, Loku, Sanoj, and Vija are amazing. They looked after me so much, helping me plan my whole trip in Sigiriya. They organised a safari through the nearby national park, a walk through the town and to the famous rocks, as well as visiting an Ayurvedic clinic which was so interesting. They really wanted me to get the most out of my time and to experience local culture. The hostel is a short walk to Mali and Loki’s restaurant S.L.Kafe which I can’t speak highly enough of. I had two dinners and one breakfast with them and it was absolutely amazing. I’ve never had flavours like it before in my life. Loku and Mali take great pride in what they serve and even run a free cooking class to show you how the magic happens. The restaurant is comfortable and the kitchen is open air so you can watch it all happening. Definitely a must visit spot.

The place is lovely, the beds are french size so very spacious, nets and funs for each bed. cleaned toilets, even towels are provided ad included. The service was great the srilankan breakfast at the restaurant was a very nice surprise as well as the rest of the food, if you ask no spicy it comes finally no spicy, yeyy!! Also all the staff was very helpful and friendly they help each kind of traveller basically with its needs, budget and expectations to taylor a beautiful experience in the area. There are many things to do in the area from the farms, the catamaran on the lake, the excursions on the rocks, and the safari obviously, and many others... the staff has always something very interesting to propose and very interesting chats about the singal culture as well that it s not easy to get in general. It was my best hostel experience so far in sri lanka.... thanks 😊

The best 3 night stay at this place. The owner & family go out of their way to make your time very enjoyable. Suggestions on what to do, local knowledge & ensuring you get the most authentic Sri Lankan experience. Then there is the food. Wow. Professionally trained chef cooks for you morning and evening . The family is just the best. Thank you Loku + Mali

Guest house
Sigiriya Nature View Homestay is a peaceful and quiet accommodation located near various restaurants and attractions. The homestay offers clean rooms with good air conditioning and the option for delicious home-cooked meals. The friendly family that runs the homestay also provides tuk-tuk services for guests' convenience. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they offer a tranquil jungle setting with opportunities to observe local wildlife. Guests can also engage in activities such as cooking classes during their stay.
Extremely beautiful place, outskirts of the village, in the jungle. The room is very nice, cute and clean. Bed is very comfortable and has net. The bathroom is superb, large and has hot water. You have a small extremely cute balcony. You feel the whole house is done with love. The whole family is extremely sweet. You really feel taken care of. They make very nice local breakfast in the morning, check on you if you have any needs, they are very kind and smiley. You really feel that you are living with a very sweet local family. At the same time you have %100 your personal space. The house is in the jungle, is a nice 10 mins walk from main road. It's on the outskirts but there are other houses on the way closeby, so you feel completely safe walking back and forth. You can see, hear animals, and have cute small visitors. As Sigiriya is a wild elephant area, it is generally not recommended to walk around before-after sunset. With scooter or tuktuk it is fine. I had two days walking, one day scooter and it is completely fine. You can also get a tuktuk from main road to house for reasonable price after sunset. At an amazing jungle area like this, you don't wanna stay in busy main road. This house gives you a wonderful serene jungle experience. I will for sure again stay here when i am back in sigiriya.

When we reached we were unsure if we reached the right place. The host was unaware of the booking. The host doesn’t know English. It was difficult to communicate and let them know about booking. No fans available.

Great stay, quiet in the jungle. Host was very friendly and attended to our every need. We did a cooking class with them and we were the first to do it which was cool. Our fault for not asking the price because we got ripped off paying 10,000, which seemed pretty steep.

Such a lovely little guest house! The family was extremely kind and friendly. The room is surrounded by nature, you can see and hear different animals! Absolutely recommended!

Peaceful and quiet. AC was good and very very clean ! Owner has a tuktuk so it’s useful (you have to let him know when you need it ahead of time) Family is very nice :) We had a few night meals at their place and we really liked the dinner. They also had a bed mosquito net. Honestly for this price, I don’t think we are even allowed to say anything bad ! but here are a few details : -Room is a bit small and no lights, unless you want to open the wood window and let the mosquitos in. -Family knows very few English words, so you will need google translation often. But they try hard :) -Wifi was blocking Facebook and Instagram, which is the main app we get in touch with our family. -General info about Sigiriya : Pick me App doesn’t work here and you cannot walk when the sunlight is out, as there are many wild elephants in the area. -That being said, take into count that the place is 15 minutes walk in the forest from the main road. So you will have to either walk or plan the tuktuk if you need to go to main road (300 rupees)

Experience a unique stay at Sigiri Panoramic Tree House, located just 3 km from the iconic Sigiriya Rock. Nestled amidst lush greenery, this tree house offers comfortable accommodation with a garden, terrace, and attentive room service. The friendly owners ensure a warm welcome and provide delicious Sri Lankan cuisine made from fresh farm produce. While the atmospheric vibe and close-to-nature setting may bring encounters with local wildlife, it's an ideal choice for those seeking an authentic jungle experience.
It is a different experience staying in a tree house, the host is warm and accommodating.

I had a wonderful stay at Sigiri Panoramic Tree House. The place is very beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The host family is extremely polite and very friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable. However, if you plan to use their transportation or other services, make sure to agree clearly on the prices beforehand, as the costs for additional services can be quite high. Also, keep in mind that the property is located a bit far from the town, so it may not be ideal if you’re looking for city vibes or nearby facilities. Overall, a great experience for those seeking tranquility and nature .
Saleh S — Google review
The place has a very atmospheric vibe, the hosts are very kind and hospitable. I recommend this place to those who aren't afraid of bugs in the room and lizards in the bathroom. It's probably normal for a wooden house in the jungle, but I wasn't prepared for that.

I had a fantastic stay at Sigiriya Panoramic Tree House and would highly recommend it to others. The owners(Aunty and Uncle)were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was comfortable and provided everything I needed for a great night's sleep. But the highlight of my stay was the delicious food, which was cooked to perfection and left me feeling satisfied. Sigiriya is known for its breathtaking beauty and rich cultural heritage, and staying in a tree house provided me with a unique and immersive experience. The peaceful surroundings and comfortable accommodation made for a truly memorable stay. In conclusion, I had an amazing time at Sigiriya Panoramic Tree House and would like to thank the owners for their warm hospitality and delicious food. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and unforgettable stay in Sigiriya.

The location is nice and quiet but the room smelled a little bit damp. Everyone was really friendly except for one incident: we went back to the room during breakfast and found the owner in there. He pretended that there was some kind of issue with the fan but looked like we just caught him while he was going through our stuff. We don't know it for sure but he had no reason to be in our (locked) room anyway so we were probably just lucky we could stop him before he did anything. So be careful with your valuables, they might not be safe!

Nestled in Sigiriya, the Sigiri Peace Hostel is conveniently located just a short drive away from popular attractions such as the Sigiriya Museum, Ancient City of Sigiriya, Pidurangala Rock, and Minneriya National Park. The hostel offers a serene setting with a garden and complimentary Wi-Fi. With only 3 guestrooms, guests can enjoy personalized attention from the friendly host who is known for organizing enjoyable activities and being well-connected in Sri Lanka.
I had an incredible experience at this hostel! Shalika, the owner, picked me up from the bus stop and drove me to the hostel. He went back into town while I got settled and brought some lunch back. He is absolutely incredible. The hostel is off the main road but Shalika is a local of the village so he knows everyone from the tuk tuk drivers to the tour guides. And it is right behind the beautiful temple and Buddha statue plus walking distance to Sigiriya Rock. The hostel used to be a monastery, which is pretty awesome! I only had one night and one morning in Sigiriya and he led me in the right direction. Aside from the delicious lunch and amazing breakfast full of traditional Sri Lankan dishes, I was offered tea and/or coffee throughout my stay. Yes, there can be mosquitos but the beds have nets for when you sleep and from my research, most of the places to stay in Sigiriya are very similar. There is Wifi and a ceiling fan which is more than enough. I got the full local experience hanging with Shalika and meeting his parents and his friends. He is an incredible host and everyone was so welcoming. I will definitely be back to stay again! Cheers machang!

This hostel is amazing if you are looking for a truly local experience. It is next to the jungle where wild elephants roam (the owner runs safaris). It is also behind a beautiful buddhist temple with a huge statue. The place itself is unique because it has a roof that slopes on all sides to a hole in the middle. This has a pool in the middle and tree growing up out of it. It's a bit like a courtyard. Around this square are the rooms, with bathrooms. Again, if you are a traveller that likes to have a local experience rather than spend it in western style hotels, then the simplicity of the place will not trouble you. The space is super clean, as you would expect from any Sri Lankan home or hostel. The owner is one of the friendliest, interesting people you'll meet and he has a spot on understanding of tourists' tastes. He is a local and has the best knowledge of the area, and will recommend places or guide you (probably for a fee for the latter). He speaks English fluently and he has been a tour guide for a few years now. He cooks the most wonderful food and so do the guys at the restaurant he works at (Chill House, I think). My friend and I spent a few days exploring here in Summer and it was a truly great experience.

Sigiri Lion Eco Palace is a charming hotel located just 5 km from Sigiriya Air Force Base airport. The property offers convenient amenities such as airport shuttle service and bicycle rentals for guests to explore the area. Guests have praised the spacious and clean rooms, with some featuring hot water facilities. The accommodating hosts are fluent in multiple languages and serve generous breakfasts. The property also boasts a beautiful setting where guests can enjoy their meals in the company of playful monkeys amidst lush greenery.
My partner and I had a very nice 3-night stay here. The owners were extremely kind and helpful, assisting in arranging our Huluru Eco Park safari, which was also great. The accomodation is also very conveniently located, being only a 20-minute walk from the base of Lion Rock. We also had a private balcony with a very pretty outlook onto the garden.
Gabriel B — Google review
The place is in a good location just off main road so the area is quiet (excluding animals at night). The main feature is the nice balcony. There is also a good breakfast served by the wife who is nice. The room was as described, the bathroom smells a little bit but overall is fine. There were some small frogs in the bathroom and in general you have to be okay with some wildlife, bugs etc. You can’t really go out past 9/10pm due to the risk of wild elephants (although I think that’s common around sigiriya). There’s no WiFi available. We arranged a tuktuk with the owner (Ratne) from Habarana and agreed a set price however we were then charged an extra 300 as “waiting time” as the train was delayed slightly, although first he said it was for petrol. We arranged another tuktuk to sigiriya rock for sunrise however we found out that this price was more expensive than local tuktuk. He was a bit confrontational over payment as he said to pay driver the next morning and although we were here till 12 he complained the driver came twice to get money and we weren’t here. He also made a point that he apparently doesn’t get any commission and we could go get a public tuktuk if we wanted to but it’d be “more expensive”, which wasn’t the case actually. If you want a tuktuk I’d just ask someone on the main road you’d get a better price and less hassle.

A great location thats quiet but close enough to the main road to walk. Room was clean and well kept! Got plenty of visits from some froggy fellas which was so fun and a nice peaceful balcony overlooking the garden. Wr recently stayed at Galaxy View Homestay in Sigiriya, and it was a fantastic experience. The property is located very close to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, offering scenic views and a peaceful atmosphere away from the tourist crowds. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all basic amenities. One of the standout features is the beautifully maintained swimming pool, which was a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing in the tropical heat. The hosts karu and family were incredibly warm and hospitable, always ready to assist with local tips, transportation, and even preparing delicious home-cooked Sri Lankan meals on request. Their attention to detail and genuine care made the stay feel truly personal. The surrounding gardens, calm environment, and excellent service make this homestay an ideal choice for both families and solo travelers. If you're visiting Sigiriya and want a relaxing, clean, and affordable place to stay with the bonus of a pool. Highly Recommend and well maintained property

We stayed at Galaxy for 3 nights and had an incredible time. The family was really heartwarming and offered help with organising a safari to Minneriya National Park and a ride for the sunrise hike on Pidurangala Rock. Additionally, the breakfast was a variety of Sri Lankan and Western food, which made it incredibly tasteful. Great for keeping the mosquitoes at bay; we weren't bothered by them indoors. The bathroom has a great hot shower. And the pool was wonderful for relaxing and cooling off. We booked a safari to Minnerya National Park, where we enjoyed seeing the elephants. We also visited the Golden Temple in Dambulla and climbed Pidurabgala Rock, which offers a stunning view of Lion's Rock at sunset. It was very busy when we were there, though. Karu arranged everything. He drove us everywhere with his tuk-tuk and another tuk-tuk, and he also pointed out some interesting spots. Fijn tegen de muggen, binnen hebben we hier geen last van gehad. In de badkamer zit een hele goede warme douche. En het zwembad was heerlijk om even te relaxen en af te koelen. Managed to find one 15 km away because of sunday rush. The property owner has two names for same property and will scam you like this.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful family-run hotel with a view of Sigiriya Rock. I stayed here for a few days and it was a great experience. The room has been carefully cleaned and is as beautiful as you can see in the photos. The air conditioner works well, and the shower's warmth and water pressure are fine. It is a well-located place close to all sightseeing spots in Sigiriya. There are also delicious restaurants and convenience stores nearby. It's a little off the main road, so it's quiet at night, but there are no street lights, so we recommend checking in during the day. It's dark at night, but you can see stars that are so beautiful that you can't see them in the city, so it's also recommended to look at the sky at night.

Absolutely fantastic hidden gem! This property is so charming with the room being in a treetop house. Moreover, the family running the property is so friendly and service minded. They offered both a delicious dinner and a marvelous breakfast - and they even went out and bought a beer for me. All in all a fantastic and authentic experience, and I give my highest recommendations!
