⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highbury Colombo was a wonderful stay! The place is cosy and feels like home, with beautifully curated décor throughout the house. The hosts are warm and welcoming, making me feel instantly comfortable. My room was spacious, equipped with AC, and perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the city. The location is very convenient for getting around Colombo. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and charming homestay experience!”

We absolutely loved our stay at Highbury Colombo. The property is beautifully designed, full of style and character, with architecture that makes it a truly special place. Its location couldn’t be better—close to everything, including Dolce Italia, which serves excellent coffee and food. Despite being so central, Highbury is a haven of tranquillity, offering peace and calm away from the bustle of the city. We’ll definitely be back!

Highbury Colombo is a truly special place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by warm and friendly people who made us feel at home. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and filled with authentic statues and artistic touches that give the property a unique charm. The highlight and biggest surprise was the shower with its own mini garden. It felt like taking a shower right in nature Cost : 5 Value : 3 Nice place if you need to stay in Colombo Notice: The breakfast was very expansive about 9000 for 2 people and get so few Eat out side you pay 1/3 and get more (see attached pic)

This place is a true hidden gem, a lush green oasis in Colombo city center. Designed by a renowned architect, it has a distinct charm and is a beautiful example of tropical modernism. I only stayed one night there, but felt immediately at home and can’t recommend it enough to anyone who’s looking for a unique home stay experience.

Beautiful hotel with stylish, well-equipped rooms and peaceful, well-kept surroundings. We were warmly welcomed with kindness and attention, and felt at home right away. Sadly, we had to leave early for our flight and couldn’t enjoy this wonderful place longer. Everything was perfect

This hotel has been a nightmare to deal with. I made a reservation through a booking site, where the payment was supposed to be made upon arrival. Instead, the property charged me well in advance, which I did not appreciate, so I decided to cancel my booking. Since then – it’s been almost a year – I have never received my refund. I sent multiple emails with no response. Eventually, the owner replied, apologized, and claimed he had processed the refund, but I never received any money. Since then, he has completely ignored my messages. I strongly advise against booking this place. I will not stop pursuing this matter until I receive the refund I am owed.

Hilton Colombo is a modern hotel situated in the heart of Colombo's business district, offering bright rooms and suites with some featuring ocean views. The hotel is conveniently located near popular tourist attractions such as Dutch Hospital shopping mall, Galle Face Beach, and Gangarama Temple. Guests can easily explore the city with local tuk-tuks available outside the hotel.
I have visited the Hilton Colombo many times, yet my most recent stay was simply extraordinary. From the wonderfully warm and personal welcome to the flawless service throughout, every detail was handled with impeccable care. The Executive Lounge staff were a particular delight, and the thoughtful floral arrangements, generous fruit basket, and sweets added a truly special touch. I was utterly delighted by the incredible room upgrade – a gesture that went far beyond expectation. My guests and business partners were equally impressed, and the evening meals in the restaurant were exemplary. Sincere thanks to Mr Manesh Fernando and his remarkable team – their dedication, professionalism, and warmth set the Hilton Colombo apart. I look forward immensely to my next visit.

All in all, a pleasant stay at Hilton Colombo. While it didn’t quite feel like a full 5-star experience, the front of house staff were a real highlight. Bakhti and Daniel, in particular, stood out — friendly, attentive, and professional. Bakhti even arranged a lovely cake and decorated the room for my parents’ anniversary, which was a really thoughtful touch. The breakfast was a bit chaotic, and the food and drink quality could be improved, but despite that, the hotel is a great base for exploring Colombo. It is very safe, secure, and gorgeous, with a lovely courtyard featuring a water feature and swans. I’d happily recommend it for a comfortable stay.
Sapna G — Google review
The rooms are what you would expect of a 5-star hotel. The service, in general, is good. However there seems a bit a consistent lack of communication within the staff themselves. Also the service was very inconsistent.. When asking certain questions, I get different answers from different staff. For example, whether discount is available for hilton diamond members at the restaurant, or what time late check out is available until. It seems as if it depends on the mood of the particular staff and if they “feel” like giving you the option of a late check out, the would provide it. What bothered me the most was that when I searched up the hilton diamond members dining discount online, it did show a discount for that particular restaurant, and when I checked with the staff that told me there was no discount he then blamed it his “F&B manager”. After more discussion he then said it depends on whether the manager allows it or not….after I showed the website they said “special case” discount. I made sure to double check with the front desk staff and they also said that diamond members “definitely” get the discount at the restaurant. So I don’t understand what they are trying to do there. Additionally, even the prices for a taxi/tuk tuk varies depending on who you ask at the entrance. Our party booked 6 rooms in total for 4 nights, and only some rooms received fruits/snacks on certain days, others received nothing. On certain days towels were not replaced and certain days they were. Some days amenities were replaced, some days they were “forgotten”. Very strange. There’s definitely still some work to be done in terms of overall consistency.

Good morning Manish The hospitality at Hilton Colombo was impeccable. The buffet spread was delicious and bountiful. In addition, the view from our room was absolutely stunning. I’ve visited the Hilton Colombo breakfast buffet a few times with my family over the past couple of months, and overall, it’s one of the most enjoyable breakfast experiences in Colombo — though there are a few areas that could easily be improved. Let’s start with the highlights. The fruits and cheese corner is hands down the best in town when it comes to a breakfast buffet — the variety and abundance of fruits are unmatched. The sushi corner is another standout and something you rarely find at other breakfast buffets. The quality, texture, and taste were exceptional. The pancake, waffle, and French toast section was a bit of a mixed experience. The toppings and spreads, however, were outstanding — probably the best I’ve seen at any breakfast buffet in Colombo. There were over ten options, including one of the best chocolate spreads I've had, along with nuts, syrups, jams, and more. Unfortunately, the pancakes and French toast themselves were quite disappointing — dense, not fluffy, and with an off flavor, likely due to the batter and the type of bread used. But this quality issue was persistent throughout all our visits. It’s a simple fix, but one that would make a huge difference in the overall experience. In terms of meat options, there was plenty of chicken — fried, poached, in Sri Lankan curry, and stir-fried with vegetables — all well-cooked and flavorful. However, it did feel repetitive since it was predominantly chicken-based. A little more variety, perhaps with some additional meat and seafood items, would make the spread feel more balanced compared to other top buffets in the city. The bakery section was decent but not particularly impressive — a modest selection of bread, pastries, and muffins that tasted good, though not as exceptional as what you’d find at Hilton’s coffee shop (which, in my opinion, serves some of the best pastries in Sri Lanka!). The salad section could also use an upgrade — there was only one pre-made salad and a few cut vegetables with three dressings. Everything was fresh and tasty, but the selection felt quite basic. Now, the best part — the staff. The service was truly exceptional. My daughter has a seafood allergy, and when we asked if the sushi contained any ingredients she might react to, the chef immediately offered to prepare a special batch just for her — even though there were already safe options available. That level of attentiveness and care is rare and deeply appreciated. The servers, too, were always polite, attentive, and efficient — even on busy mornings when the restaurant was packed, they never let the ball drop. Overall, the Hilton Colombo breakfast buffet provides a delightful dining experience, with some standout highlights — particularly the sushi, the fruit and cheese selection, and the warm, attentive service. With a few tweaks to the bakery and breakfast items, and a bit more variety in the meats and salads, it could easily be the best breakfast buffet in Colombo.

I recently had dinner at Plates Restaurant at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The dinner buffet offered a remarkable variety of dishes from authentic Sri Lankan delicacies to a wide range of international cuisines. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seafood and grill sections were absolute highlights, with perfectly cooked dishes and a great selection of options. The live cooking stations added a lively touch, and the chefs were more than happy to cater to individual tastes. The dessert spread was equally impressive with everything from rich cakes to traditional sweets that made it hard to choose just one favorite! A special mention must go to the amazing staff who made the evening even more pleasant Mr. Chaminda, Lakshitha, Ayoma, and Chamodi. We had an event on 8th November at the Mahogany Room. It was the Hash Ball 2025 for the Hashing community in Sri Lanka and visiting/returning overseas Hashers. The events team headed by Madura together with Chathuranga and Nalaka were present with the Hash organizing team throughout the day with every assistance granted to us. They did an exceptional set-up headed by Lahiru. The venue looked spectacular! The Bar staff were exceptional as well. The sit-down dinner service for 150 pax was conducted with precision and the food was absolutely the best. The Chef as open to discussion regarding the choices we requested and was extremely helpful. The events team was with us right to the end and we were very grateful foe their courteous and thoughtful support. Thank you Madura, Chathuranga and Nalaka and the team for a spectacular event.

My family & I have stayed at this hotel on very many occasions over the past 40 years. We have always enjoyed our stays. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. This time, Shehan is looking after us and always greets us with a friendly smile, as do all staff. Gamini in Concierge is unfailingly helpful and always remembers us from previous visits. The food is good and plentiful although the waiters occasionally have a hard time finding enough tables at breakfast time. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Amazing hotel at an awesome location in Colombo. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and the view from the room will want you to stay back and enjoy it. Breakfast buffet spread was amazing, special mention to the hoppers with egg is yummy with chicken curry. The pool is huge and fun to lounge around. Special mention to the gym in the lower floor with its steam and sauna. If you are staying at this hotel do try this out. Lastly the patisserie in the lower floor has yummy collection of pastries and coffee which we tried. Did not try the ice cream but it looked yummy. Wish I stayed at this place for longer! We have stayed a week in this Hotel and had a lovely time. The food is of outstanding Quality. The staff are very attentive. The rooms are spacious with full air conditioning, but you can't open a window. The one thing that I didn't like was the Night club downstairs. Loud music until passed 12pm and longer at the weekend. If you value your sleep then this hotel is not for you ! The Music is so loud invibrates The windows 6 floors up. This kinda ruined my stay here.

The stay was very peaceful and relaxing, with their very comfortable beds. Also the staff was very supportive and courteous, and had created a separate "Indian Counter" after we had pre-emptively mailed them to keep vegitarian dishes separate. Mr. Ajith, the Manager in charge of food has taken extra care for our food. Mr. Gayan Peiris from the management was kind enough to take our suggestions in positive manner and the overall experience was very pleasing to elders and kids.

Nestled in the heart of Colombo's business district, Shangri-La Colombo offers a luxurious tropical retreat with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The hotel boasts 541 well-appointed rooms and suites, each designed to provide unparalleled comfort and convenience. Guests can enjoy 24-hour room service and access to a range of amenities including four restaurants, an outdoor pool, and a spa.
We recently stayed at Shangri La to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special. The staff went above and beyond, especially during breakfast where I was surprised with a beautifully presented birthday treat and warm wishes from the team. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really made my day feel extra special. What also stood out was the flexibility and kindness of the front desk staff – they graciously allowed a late checkout, which gave us time to relax and enjoy the last moments of our stay without feeling rushed. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. It’s clear the team genuinely cares about making guests feel welcome and appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that adds those personal touches that make all the difference.

We had an excellent stay at Shangri-La Colombo. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and every member of the staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming. We stayed for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety of dishes, showcasing both local and international flavors. A special thanks to Chef Dishan for personally preparing traditional Sri Lankan favorites — Pittu, Kurakkan Rotti, and Fish Cutlets — upon our request, even though they weren’t part of the buffet. His hospitality truly made our stay memorable. We would definitely return and highly recommend Shangri-La Colombo to anyone looking to experience genuine Sri Lankan warmth and world-class service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Birthday to Remember at Central – Shangri-La Colombo We visited Central at Shangri-La to celebrate my birthday, and from the very first moment, everything felt special. The staff handled our booking with great care and even took time to understand the reason for our visit. When we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth at the reception that it immediately set the tone for a beautiful evening. The dinner was a mix of Turkish and international cuisine, a true feast prepared by several foreign chefs. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and the variety was amazing. The entire team was so friendly and attentive, constantly checking in to make sure we were having a great time. Their hospitality made us feel completely at home. The Turkish delights were simply irresistible, and every corner of the buffet offered something new to enjoy. Just when I thought the night couldn’t get any better, the team surprised me with a candle-lit birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday.” It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that made the evening unforgettable. A big thank you to the wonderful team at Central for making my birthday so memorable. Wishing you all continued success. you truly know how to make your guests feel special!

Their exceptional service made our morning special and was a highlight of our visit. We would highly recommend dining here and requesting them. Specially chef Amith too. Excellent place to stay and fine. Rooms are large and very well-appointed with all necessities. Check-in does take time, but the staff is very helpful. Opt for the MAP package. Both Breakfast and Dinner had a lot choices of cuisines and the buffet was well planned and extensive. Food was excellent. The Hotel is attached to a reasonably sized Mall with a lot of International labels and domestic top retailers. The Mall has direct access from the Hotel. Right in front of the Hotel is a strip beach that you can walk around, though no swimming was allowed.

We stayed this hotel for 5 nights during the Christmas 2024. Food and service were excellent. We enjoyed different styles of cuisine every morning. Even rolled sushi was good.( I am a Japanese sushi chef) I love the way they serve the milk tea. It became my everyday attraction. We had dinner at the restaurants and in the room. All of them were good so we didn’t need to go out to eat. You can walk to the big shopping mall next to the hotel. They have good quality of Ceylon products. It’s very convenient. We are huge tea lovers so mad our shopping easier. All the stuff were kindly took care of us. Everyone the shop stay, we completely relax and enjoyed Sri Lanka. We definitely come back to stay here again. Even the short stay of

Went for the Sunday Brunch at Shangri-La Colombo, and it was superb! The spread was wide with Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, and Sri Lankan cuisine. The seafood range was delicious and incredibly fresh. The ambiance was calm and comforting, and the music was soothing. this is perfect for a family gathering or even a couple's hangout, worth the money!! I loved the little surprise arranged for me (yup, the staff was supportive like that). A big thank you to "Thusitha" for the hospitality, recommendations, and making necessary arrangements. You were great !! Absolutely loved the dessert spread and the chocolate fountain. However, my personal favorite was the Woodapple sorbet, with a perfect texture and tanginess, thanks a bunch for the recommendation @Shenal!

Taj Samudra in Colombo is a luxurious five-star hotel located near Galle Face Green, offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Set on 11 acres of lush gardens, this upmarket property features an outdoor pool, two lounges, and four dining options serving authentic international cuisines. With 300 luxurious rooms and suites, guests can enjoy top-notch amenities including conference halls, a fully equipped gym, and a historic Grand Crystal Ballroom dating back to the 1860s.
We had a truly fantastic stay at Taj Samudra, Colombo. What impressed us the most was the remarkable hospitality shown by the entire team. Due to some initial noise issues, the hotel proactively upgraded all our rooms, ensuring complete comfort for our family. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide spread and plenty of delicious vegetarian Indian options, which made us feel right at home. The views from the hotel are stunning, and having access to the Taj Lounge was an added highlight of our stay. A special appreciation to the Duty Manager, who was always approachable, responsive, and genuinely caring towards our requirements. Overall, Taj Samudra delivered the true Taj hospitality experience — warm, luxurious, and guest-first in every way. We would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Colombo. 💐

My stay at Taj Samudra, Colombo was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff made me feel welcomed with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The hotel’s ambiance is elegant and luxurious, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. Waking up to the beautiful ocean view was a highlight of my trip. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, featuring a wide variety of fresh and delicious dishes to choose from. Specially the gobhi pratha served by chef Vipin. He did beyond the services. The location is ideal—situated right in front of the Galle Face, it offers easy access to scenic walks, shopping spots, and local attractions. The pool area and landscaped gardens were beautifully maintained, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Overall, my experience at Taj Samudra exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo — whether for business, vacation, or a romantic getaway. I would definitely choose this hotel again! Thank you so much taj family.

The Taj Samudra is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Colombo, offering the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality. The location is simply unbeatable—right in front of the beach, with beautiful sea views and close access to the heart of the city. For Indian tourists, this hotel feels just like home. The food is excellent, with a wide range of Indian and vegetarian options, and even the breakfast reminds you of India with familiar tastes and flavors. Being a Taj property, the service and warmth towards guests are exceptional as always. A special thanks to Mrs. Dinusha Ranawaka for the room upgrade and for arranging a beautiful sea-view room on request. Her gesture made our stay even more memorable. Each and every staff member was humble, cooperative, and always ready to assist with a smile. One more thoughtful touch – the hotel even has a medicine shop inside for emergency needs, which is very convenient for travelers. Overall, Taj Samudra is the perfect choice for Indian travelers visiting Colombo – great location, delicious food, and the true spirit of Taj hospitality. Highly recommended for both leisure and business stays!
Vasistha P — Google review
During our recent stay at the Taj Samudra Colombo from 11 to 15 October 2025, my family and I were accommodated in a Taj Club Suite. While our initial impression was one of disappointment — the suite felt dated compared to our previous experiences at other Taj properties, and certain practices did not meet our expectations — what truly stood out was the way in which the Taj team responded. The hallmark of Indian hospitality, particularly within the Taj Group, is their unwavering dedication to guest satisfaction, and this visit reaffirmed that reputation. Upon raising our concerns, the staff acted with remarkable speed, empathy, and professionalism to address them. We were immediately offered an exquisite room upgrade, a gesture we greatly appreciated, though we chose to remain in our suite due to the practicalities of moving with two young children. Determined to ensure we enjoyed the pinnacle of Taj hospitality, the team took several thoughtful steps. They offered assistance with our in-room consumables, and — understanding our children’s early sleeping schedule — they arranged for the hotel’s Chinese restaurant to open earlier than usual exclusively for us. The proactive engagement from the leadership team was exemplary: Front Office Manager Chaminda Dehiwatte maintained regular contact throughout our stay; Hotel Manager Karan Maini assured us that every effort would be made to enhance our experience; and Area Director Samrat Datta personally met with us, listened attentively to our feedback, and ensured the remainder of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Even at departure, their hospitality shone through, as they arranged a private car to take us to the airport, guaranteeing a smooth and safe journey. What began as a stay with a few disappointments evolved into a reaffirmation of the Taj Group’s ethos — that guests’ needs are paramount and every effort will be made to exceed expectations. Under the guidance of Mr. Datta, the Taj Samudra clearly embodies this philosophy, and it is this service standard that will keep the Taj brand at the forefront of luxury hospitality.
Kit K — Google review
We had a mixed experience during our stay. The ocean-view room was lovely, check-in was smooth, and room service was excellent. However, the in-dining breakfast experience was disappointing. The buffet options were boring and some items, like the sausages, were almost inedible. While they did offer live counters for dosa, omelets, and waffles, most of the time the staff forgot to bring the items to our table even after taking our order and table number. Over our 5-day stay, this happened repeatedly, leaving us waiting and often losing our appetite.: Traveling with our 2.5-year-old was also a challenge, as the hotel had nothing to offer for children—no play area, no activities, not even simple things like coloring materials. Compared to other 5-star properties that make families feel welcome, this was quite disappointing. Additionally, the hotel seems designed primarily for businessmen. For example, there was no power outlet near the mirror for hair styling—only a socket clearly mentioned for men’s trimmers. If the hotel is truly intended just for business men , they should not accept family bookings at all, It felt like the needs of women and families were overlooked. Overall, good experience. But a little more attention to details would have been even more better.
Rebecca — Google review
We stayed at Taj Samudra twice within a week on two separate occasions, and both experiences were wonderful. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The hotel, though an older property with incredible charm and a beautiful sense of history, is beginning to show signs of age and could benefit from some attention to detail and upkeep. That said, its grand spaces, lush gardens, and serene walking areas make it truly special. Dinner at Golden Dragon was excellent — the Chinese food was authentic and full of flavour. The swimming pool and health club are also great, adding to the overall experience. Despite a few signs of wear, the hospitality and warmth of the staff make Taj Samudra a memorable and delightful place to stay in Colombo. I will be back for sure.
Yashveer L — Google review
We had the most amazing time here. Staff is friendly and super welcoming, we spent loooots of time talking with everyone as they all gave us recommendations on what to do and where to go. Chaminda at breakfast showed us the best app to check trains in Sri Lanka. Our room was facing the ocean which was amazing, especially at sunset. We had the club lounge access and Amar was kind enough to make special drinks for us. The room is spacious and comfortable, massive bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We tried all the restaurants on sites and wooow, all delicious, Japanese was our favourite tho. Thank you so much for having us, we’ll be back for sure 🥰

Very comfortable and pleasant stay I got my room upgraded to Taj Club, and it was very comfortable and spacious to stay with kids. Comfortable room and very pleasant stay. Food is really good and freshly made. Very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Check in and check out was very smooth. Down side: It was an open parking under the huge trees 🌳. So my car was filled with lots of fall over leaves and bird feces. I stayed 3 nights and I had to clean my car myself every day morning before taking it out.

The Grand Oriental Hotel, also known as the G.O.H, is a historic 19th-century property located in Colombo. It offers warm and comfortable accommodations with views of the harbor. The hotel has retained its colonial architecture both on the exterior and interior, providing a vibrant atmosphere filled with Sri Lankan art. With 80 rooms that blend modern touches with colonial-era reminiscence, it offers a comfortable and affordable option amidst the old colonial buildings of the Fort area.
A very old hotel that has been preserved over the years. It was built in 1937 for the wealthy English who lived there. It has 137 rooms (we were not allowed into the rooms). The atmosphere is nice and appropriate for the period. I recommend it for a short visit. There is a beautiful view of the harbor from the dining room.
Arie B — Google review
We stayed here for a day. The property has an old-world charm, but it's evident that the hotel is quite dated. As soon as you enter, there's a distinct old wood smell, giving it a vintage palace feel. The rooms are very spacious, and it's clear the staff is putting in effort to maintain them, though signs of aging are still noticeable. Hospitality was great! Happy to see that they are trying to maintain such old property. Great Job!!! The bathroom was average and unfortunately, we did notice a few worms in the gaps, which was a bit unpleasant. Overall, it was a passable experience — could be better with some upgrades and deeper cleaning.
Jishita C — Google review
They have a great view on their top floor. The harbour looks amazing from here. The buffet available is with cocktails. The food was great here. The place is so old with ancient type of buildings including the lift. U will get a different vibe when u visit here. Now it's going out of fashion as more modern places are available in Colombo. But worth trying their buffet at least once to get a different experience
Pavithra T — Google review
It is an interesting building that, I'm sure, was great 'back in the day'. The Foyer area looks impressive and the staff are lovely. However, the room was not clean. Thick dust on skirting boards and top of wardrobe. Walls covered in stains. Mildew in the bathroom. Dead cockroach under my bed, live one in the shower, a result of poor cleaning! Seriously, hotel management, if you want to attract more western tourists you really need to improve your cleaning. Try using bleach, disinfectant, and other cleaning products. Westerners, and I'm sure others, don't like filth!
Tim W — Google review
The Grand Orient Hotel holds a rich history as one of the oldest hotels in Colombo, and its central location makes it a convenient choice for events like workshops. Its colonial architecture still echoes a charm from the past. However, our recent experience during a workshop was underwhelming. The staff lacked professionalism and friendliness, making us feel unwelcome. The food options were limited and overpriced for the quality. Some rooms had regular beds, but the biggest issue was the poor drainage system in the washrooms, which led to standing water. As a government-owned property, maintained through public tax money, one would expect better upkeep and service aligned with public service standards. That said, the hotel still has great potential if properly managed. With such a prime location and heritage value, I truly hope they take steps to improve both their service and facilities. It could be a gem with just a little more care.

Very Very Bad Experience. First Off all they said 24hrs room service, but when i asked for extra sugar and milk powder at around 12:20am night , they said we are closed no service right now? if no then why you say 24hrs room service. 2nd thing when i asked for early check in they said straight forward no i said i will pay charges, his way of talk was very bad. 3rd Room was Okay, TV was very Old. Overall my experience was not good with Grand Oriental Hotel. But Staff was good only House keeping staff.

Grand in name only. Really old room, peeling plaster on the ceiling and walls, room very loud from the street, windows don’t close properly, cockroaches in the bathroom, no chain on the inside lock (wouldn’t feel safe if I was a lone female traveler!), desk infested with tiny mites, no hot water. Positives: you can buy water upstairs because they only give you 300ml for free

Giving overall 5 star just because of the legacy of this hotel. The overall maintenance is poor. Rooms are okay for short stay for the price. Front desk and restaurant staffs were friendly and helpful. I really hope the management take some action to improve the situation.

Colombo Court Hotel & Spa is a chic urban property in the heart of Colombo, offering bright rooms and suites. The hotel reflects Sri Lanka's essence through elegant decor and excellent hospitality. Guests can enjoy amenities such as an outdoor plunge pool, spa services, and Italian dining options on-site.
I would say this is the best hotel in Colombo. From the rooms to the service, everything was exceptional. We stayed for 8 to 9 days in November, and the staff was truly amazing. The front manager and their team, along with the food and beverage team and the entire staff, were incredibly humble and accommodating. I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit to Sri Lanka, and without a doubt, we will be staying at the same hotel. This place truly feels like home. My stay at Colombo Court Hotel & Spa was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. Tucked away in the heart of Colombo, this boutique hotel offers a peaceful escape from the city’s busy streets. The rooms were beautifully designed, clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a perfect blend of modern style and artistic touches. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. One of the highlights was the rooftop bar and pool area. If you're looking for a quiet, stylish stay in Colombo with a personal touch, I highly recommend Colombo Court Hotel & Spa. Service at the reception, at the breakfast place was really great. Staff were nice, helpful and super polite. There are different swimming pool so families or couple can enjoy their stay quietly. The room is nicely decorated and organised, the cleaning service was impeccable. The surrounding was pretty noisy but this is certainly true for any hotels in Colombo as the city is super active day and night. I would advice traveller to get some ear plug and then everything will be alright!

Disappointed with the Service – Needs Serious Staff Training This was my first visit to Court Hotel. While the location and ambiance are great, the overall experience was ruined by the service. From the moment I stepped in, the staff kept approaching me repeatedly, asking for my order even after I politely explained that I was waiting for my friend to arrive so we could order together. Their constant hovering made it impossible to settle in and enjoy the environment. Eventually, just to avoid the uncomfortable pressure, I ordered something small. But even after that, they kept returning to ask if I was ordering more or if they could bring the bill as if they wanted me to leave. Once my friend arrived, I informed them we’d be staying longer and ordering more. Still, the attitude didn’t change. Frustrated, we paid and moved to the rooftop area, hoping for a better experience, but the same behavior continued. Staff constantly circled us, pressuring us to order immediately. On top of that, when I finally did place another order, they got it wrong and didn’t even acknowledge the mistake. I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome. A gentle reminder to management: guests come to relax and enjoy their time not to be rushed or made to feel uncomfortable. Please consider training your staff to be more respectful and mindful of guests’ space and comfort. I won’t be returning.

Our stay at Pearl Grand by Rathna Hotel was really enjoyable and felt like great value for money. The highlight was definitely the balcony the view was beautiful and made our mornings very relaxing. The bathroom was spotless and well maintained, which added to the comfort. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, which worked well, and we also loved the food — it was fresh and delicious. Having access to the pool and gym facilities was a nice bonus and made the stay feel more like a proper getaway. The only issue we faced was that the room telephone wasn’t working, which was a little inconvenient when we wanted to contact the reception. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay with excellent amenities, great food, and a fantastic view. Fixing small issues like the room telephone would make the experience close to perfect.

Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was a wide variety of options to choose from, catering to different tastes, and the quality was consistently excellent. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind. I left feeling refreshed and completely satisfied with my stay. The hotel was okay overall — not bad, but not amazing either. The check-in process was okay, and the staff were polite, though not particularly warm. The room was clean and had the basic amenities, but it felt a bit dated and could use some renovation. The location was convenient. Breakfast was included, but it was pretty basic with limited options. In summary, it’s a decent option if you're just looking for a place to sleep and don’t expect too much. Fair value for the price, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

We had a pretty good stay at Rathna Pearl Grand. We booked a standard room for a BB stay. Room conditions were good. However bathrobes, toothpastes and coffee creamer was not available in the room. We didn't try asking as we were in a bit hurry as we were leaving for a duty. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Restaurant service was exceptional. Food was good too. Overall a satisfactory service worth money.

I stayed twice as a solo traveller for a few days in November and again in December 2024. Rooms are a good size and comfortably equipped with air conditioning. Housekeeping was regular and kept things tidy. Reception was helpful and check-in and check-out were smooth. Nothing really stands out, but it does the basics well enough for a short stay. Fine for a few nights if you need a decent, no-frills base in Colombo.

Colombo City Hotel is a popular pet-friendly accommodation located near the iconic 39-storey towers 'World Trade Center.' The hotel features simple rooms and amenities such as a cafe, bar, and rooftop restaurant offering stunning city views. Additionally, it provides convenient access to attractions like Colombo Fort, Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, Viharamahadevi Park, and the historic Red Mosque.
This is a smaller boutique hotel compared to the Hilton and the giant hotels by the boardwalk… I love this hotel though for its authenticity and location. It is the heart of Colombo! Walk out facing south and to the right is the westerly ocean towards London and turn left is lotus tower and train station! Behind the hotel are local shops kept by local business people. Get some egg hoppers or egg roti, buy some fish rolls, some tea for the room, etc. The hotel itself is nice enough but the location is the best if you like easy access to both “tourist” and “local” attractions. Half price of the Hilton across the street.

We are unfortunately unable to recommend this hotel to anyone as our experience was not satisfactory as a temporary living space. We booked a room with the next day breakfast to enjoy and create new memories on the 31st night whilst celebrating in the city, but upon arrival into the hotel room, we had this unforgiving smell from the carpet and bed sheets. The bathroom had leaked of water from the shower and floored the tiles in that area. We informed the staff, but it wasn’t taken into consideration at all. I would say that the staff were incredibly negligent about the situation. The facilities we were promised in our payment were not even remotely provided to us. The WiFi was not connected, the beds were having a bad musk perspiration odor. We should even start on the over priced food menu and breakfast options they serve. The food wasn’t at all to any hygiene standards and were completely hopeless, no flavor or presentation whatsoever. We experienced a loss of our personal items, it had seemed that the staff might have taken our personal phone charger that was of high value, and other small items that were incredibly important and valuable.either there was no satisfaction step they took as a hotel regarding these lost. Overall our experience were the absolute worst experience. We highly don’t recommend anyone to go through what we went through, so if you are thinking of enjoying the Colombo city life in this hotel. I recommend you checking else where as it would be a waste of money and time.

We booked this hotel because the original hotel was temporarily closed Ummmm The hotel and the facilities are old so there is the feeling the hotel is not clean enough. The location is really good, near to Fort train station and also usually to get good food. The staff is helpful. The price is relatively cheap compared to the other hotels around the area but if you have more budget, you shall have more choices.

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price I stayed one night at City Hotel Colombo, paying LKR 10,500, and unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations. no meals were included in the stay not even a basic breakfast, which is unacceptable at this price point. The room was not clean. The pillows had a strong, unpleasant smell, and I found hair on them very unhygienic and disturbing. The bathroom had poor water pressure, and to make matters worse, water leaked from the commode throughout the night. When I asked the front office for an extra towel, the staff questioned me excessively and responded with a bad attitude very unprofessional and unwelcoming. I’ve noticed that the hotel increases prices every 2–3 months but there’s no improvement in service or facilities to justify the higher rates. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay. I would not recommend City Hotel Colombo unless they seriously improve their cleanliness, service quality, and value for money.

We stayed at Colombo City Hotel on the 18th of August. The hotel is in a very convenient location, right in the heart of Colombo, making it easy to explore the city. The property is nice, though the furniture in the room is a bit old. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff gave us a warm welcome and supported us with a smooth check-in process. At the time of departure, we unfortunately misplaced a gold chain. To our great relief, the Front Office Manager personally returned it to us. This gesture reflects the honesty, safety, and professionalism of the hotel team. We truly appreciate their excellent service and integrity, which made us feel secure and well taken care of during our stay. A reliable and trustworthy place to stay in Colombo City. Cinnamon Red Colombo is a trendy hotel with modern and vibrant rooms and suites. The highlight of the hotel is the Cloud Red, a stylish rooftop bar on the 26th floor offering stunning views of the city skyline and ocean. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails, mocktails, wine, pitchers to share, and tapas while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The hotel's decor is chic and contemporary, providing guests with comfort and style.
The view from the room was absolutely stunning. I stayed for 9 nights, and it never lost its charm for me. The room was clean enough, and all facilities worked well. The staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant and breakfast options were just as you would expect. There are enough options to choose from, maybe more than you need. But, don’t expect a massive selection of international cuisine. The hotel lobby looked slightly dated, but it was satisfactory. A gym is available and sufficient, although it is somewhat limited. All in all, I think it is worth the price, and its location is good.

I had such a wonderful stay at Cinnamon Red Colombo! From the moment I walked in, the receptionist made me feel so welcome, and check-in was super easy. The rooms were clean, comfy, and just perfect, and the room attendants took great care to keep everything tidy. The restaurant staff, security team, luggage counter staff, and managers were all friendly, professional, and made me feel safe and valued. The food was amazing, and the hotel felt super organized and cozy. A special shoutout to the receptionist and call center staff who helped me with a payment issue I had with Rehlat.com — they were so patient, helpful, and really went the extra mile to support me. It made me feel truly cared for! Honestly, every part of my stay — from the comfort and cleanliness to the incredible service — was perfect. I can’t recommend Cinnamon Red Colombo enough and will definitely stay here again when I’m in Colombo!

My wife and I stayed at Cinnamon Red Colombo and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel is stylish, modern, and perfectly located in the heart of Colombo. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and offered a stunning city view. The rooftop pool and bar were the best parts perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset. The breakfast buffet had a great variety and everything was fresh and delicious. Every staff member we met was polite, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. We truly appreciated their attention to detail and warm hospitality. Overall, this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Colombo excellent service, value for money, and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended for couples looking for a relaxing and memorable stay!

I recently visited Cinnamon Red Colombo with my family for high tea, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience overall. The food spread was delicious, and we were impressed by the quality and freshness of the items available. The savory selections were particularly enjoyable, and there was a nice range of drinks to complement the food, which made the experience more complete. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which really added to the overall atmosphere. They made sure that we were comfortable and checked in on us regularly, which we truly appreciated. Their warm service definitely elevated the experience. The dessert corner, however, was a little limited compared to what we expected from a high tea buffet. While the available options were tasty, a wider variety would have made the experience even better. On the bright side, they had a few live action stations, including waffles, pancakes, and sandwiches that could be customized based on individual preferences. This added a nice personal touch and ensured that everyone in the family found something they enjoyed. Overall, it was a very pleasant outing with the family. With a little more variety in the dessert section, it would easily be perfect. Still, I would definitely recommend Cinnamon Red Colombo for a relaxing high tea experience.

A really good hotel in downtown colombo and has really good connectivity too most important regions. Luckily we got a room on the 21st floor with an amazing panoramic view of the cityscape and a bit of the coast as well. The continental breakfast they offer here is nice and has good variety. However, there is room For improvement in some items like the baked stuff the pancakes and waffles. The room was very clean and when we informed that we had booked for a room with a bed and sofa-couch, they moved a foldable bed into our room. Only one point to note is that the staff don't usually help in moving your luggage to the room so it's all up to you to take it to your room.

We stayed at Cinnamon Red Colombo and got there around 9:30 AM. The girl at the reception was super nice and gave us an early check-in by 10 AM really appreciated that! The room was clean and had an amazing city view. The pool was also really nice and relaxing. We went to the Str-Red bar and tried some cocktails, the bartender even made us a one that wasn’t on the menu, and it was so good! The only thing that felt a bit odd was when we asked for bathrobes and slippers, they said it costs extra. Overall, it was a really good stay friendly staff, great vibe, and beautiful views of the city.

The property is beautiful, peaceful, and feels luxurious. Food was tasty, and rooms were spacious and comfortable — clearly a place with great potential. However, the service experience didn’t match the standard the property seems to aim for: • Benefits mentioned during online booking weren’t known to the staff. Guests shouldn’t have to reconfirm what’s already stated in the reservation. • Remarks added during booking were also not visible to the team, causing confusion during check-in. • From parking to the front desk, there’s noticeable room for improvement — lobby waiting time was long, and the room wasn’t prepared in advance despite informing late arrival hours ahead. • Overall hospitality and guest understanding felt below expectations for a property of this level. I hope the management takes this as constructive feedback. With better coordination and attention to guest experience, this could easily become one of the best stays in its category.

Royal Ramada Colombo delivers an outstanding blend of luxury, comfort, and Sri Lankan hospitality. The rooms are spacious, elegantly designed, and impeccably maintained, offering serene city or ocean views. Staff go above and beyond: warm, efficient, and genuinely attentive. Its prime location provides easy access to business hubs, shopping, and attractions. Whether for business or leisure, Ramada ensures a seamless, indulgent experience with top-tier amenities and service. A truly memorable stay—highly recommended!

A Deeply Disappointing High Tea I visited the Ramada for their high tea buffet last Sunday (05/10/2025) with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing on two main fronts: service and food. Service: The staff were not welcoming, with a noticeable lack of smiles or warmth. We also found them to be inattentive; we had to repeat simple requests multiple times as it seemed they weren't fully listening. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere from the start. Food & Variety: The food selection was very limited and did not live up to the standard of the hotel. Savories: The options were minimal, basically consisting of rottis, sandwitches and a very few types of buns. There was a distinct lack of the variety and local short eats one expects. Desserts: This was the biggest letdown. The selection was just basically cake. The chocolate fountain was dysfunctional—the chocolate was so runny and thin that it wouldn't stick to the marshmallows at all. The Final Insult: When I politely shared my disappointments at the end, the staff member simply said "thank you" without any apology or assurance that they would consider the suggestions. It made me feel as if my feedback was invalid and that they have no intention of improving. A simple "We're sorry to hear that, we will share this with the team" would have gone a long way.

The location is excellent — right in the heart of Colombo, close to the Galle Face Green and other main attractions. The pool area and pool bar are definitely highlights, offering a relaxing space to unwind. However, the rooms are showing signs of age and could really use a renovation to match the hotel’s great location and brand name. The food options were average and could be improved, especially in terms of variety and taste. Overall, a convenient stay with potential to be much better with some updates and upgrades.

I recently visited Ramada for their dinner buffet and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing, making it a great place to unwind. The food was delicious with a good variety, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was also excellent – the staff were very kind, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good buffet with a comfortable setting.

I have stayed at Ramada Colombo many times before, but my most recent experience was very disappointing. During my stay, I misplaced my reading glasses, which had sentimental value as they were a gift from my wife. I am certain they were left either in my room or at the restaurant. Despite informing the staff and even providing the exact time to check CCTV, no one made any real effort to help. I called several times afterward, but the response was careless and unprofessional. While I understand that belongings are my responsibility, a reputable hotel should still show concern and assist its guests—unfortunately, this was not the case. Housekeeping was also below standard. The room was not properly cleaned, and I was once served watermelon juice in a visibly dirty glass, which was unacceptable. Although a few staff members were helpful, overall service and management failed to meet expectations. Sadly, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Ramada Colombo anymore

so we went for hightea , The amount of food that was presented is insane for the price ... I love the waffle station plus the hopper station they were supper delicious.. There were several other options for beverages , you can make your self some tea or coffee with or without milk . even drinks like iced coffee and some fruit juice were available.. moreover there were Srilankan food meaning rotti, and curries along with rice and stuffs. we also had sushi , sandwiches and a bowl of fried rice with chicken ... There were soo many food I have listed only few of them ... you would also find varieties of deserts plus ice cream they tasted next level... overall I love the experience, The service was great and oh the ambience there was superb.

We are Platinum members of Wyndham Rewards. This is the 3rd time we are staying in this hotel using Rewards Points. Last stay was only a few days ago for two nights. We were given breakfast on both previous stays and while we were at breakfast today (22/8), we were informed by the Guest Relations Officer Madhavi that we are not entitled for breakfast as the hotel (not Wyndham) had changed the policy. When she was told that we were given breakfast when we stayed a few days ago, she said it was a decision taken about 3 days ago, which we do not believe. When I asked her if that is the situation why we were not informed at checking in she said it was a mistake and to compensate for that only the person under who’s name the booking was made, will be given complementary breakfast. This is a bloody joke as they expect one person to get complementary b’fast and the other person in the room who also happens to be a Platinum Wyndham member, to pay for the breakfast. Then when I said this is not what we have experienced in other countries, Madhavi said she will ask the Front Office Manager by the name of Nipun Thillakaratne. Later she called my mobile and said the same as before. I said I’m not willing to accept complementary breakfast for only me as that is discrimination. I then asked Madhavi to write down the names of those who were involved in this decision and also to mention that the hotel has made a decision not to provide complementary breakfast for Wyndham Rewards bookings. She said she has no authority to mention that but wrote the two names on a piece of paper. At this stage I asked her if she has authority only to tell that we are not entitled for complementary breakfast but it can’t be put in writing. This is the worst hotel in over 30 countries we have been to and this is going to be our last stay here. The front office personnel are not friendly at all and are least helpful. Same with the restaurant staff. We have to ask for serviettes, and water. They walk past the tables as if they are blind and dont see that we are waiting for water or a serviette. Wyndham members PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE MAKING RESERVATIONS IN THIS HOTEL. If you want to enjoy Sri Lankan hospitality go somewhere else. Now, I’m sure there will be a reply for this message from the hotel management with a load of bull crap. The picture is the piece of paper with the names written by Madhavi.

A must stay in Colombo Rooms with the ocean view are breath-taking. Being able to see the sun raise and set from your bedroom is a sight to behold. A quick cross the street and you are greeted by the most magnificent ocean, whose waters are warm and inviting. Lots of shopping close by, regular retailers to your more up end tearoom and coffee rooms, outdoor casual eateries, jewelery stores, pet shops and so much more. The rooms are spacious, clean, modern, light and airy and had everything you need. The buffet breakfast and dinner are both divine, delicious variety that can't make you resist seconds and thirds. At night, the streets are fairly busy but I felt safe walking by myself but just be careful of the tuk-tuk drivers, negotiate with them per drop-off and only pay when your trip is over, don't ask them to wait for you, just get another one for your return to the hotel. Also, don't accept their help negotiating in the stores, if they are going to wait for you, tell them to wait outside. Some of them are ruthless and can become aggressive especially if you are a solo traveller. All in all, would I go back to Sri Lanka, 100% Kandy, Newauru Eliya and Colombo is a must see, you will not regret it

Best thing i can rate at the hotel is the amazing view😍 I arrived for early check-in and the lady at the reception & her manager assisted for a smooth boarding. There was a guy at the concierge he was very kind and helpful. I’ve upload my room video how it looked like. It was a nice small room. If they can add a bidet to the bathroom it would be great 😅 I’ve tried the gym and it was not bad. Machines need maintenance and internal cleaning is a must for this. This place can improve a lot. It just needs a good renovation. It’s not easy to have a beach front apartment and manage it. However, if the management invest some money and renovate it, this will be superb 😍 bit of lighting (this is a must-specially for lobby), some painting around, can give a goor view..

It has been a terrible experience during my recent stay. The rooms and the hotel itself were dirty and noisy, and the AC was in very poor condition with a bad odor. I would strongly recommend that you personally check the rooms before book. Additionally, the charges are extremely high compared to the quality provided. For the same price, one can easily find more luxurious and newer accommodations in the area.

The room was small and below basic. Door hardware was pathetic and I literally had to use all my strength to open the balcony door which provided the sea view. Air conditioning was poor and had to follow up to ensure cooling. Bed was ok and no blanket was provided in the room. The swimming pool was decent and the behaviour of the staff was good. The complimentary breakfast was pathetic and too basic so ideally it will be better to book a room without breakfast as no buffet was available in the 2 days i stayed.

And then I wanted to get out of the bluddy hotel and request them my money Back but they didn’t even wanted to consider my problem and wanted to keep the money only! I paid the full amount for a short term stay for like 5 hours and I didn’t even stay for one hour at least… while my wife was there when incident happened! After that I took a video and I didn’t even post it on social media because of the bad management behaviors of staffs… I didn’t wanted to put down someone’s business down! To the owner of this hotel please consider this issue and take immediate actions please 🙏🏻

Great service from all the staff, especially the pub and restaurant. Any pub and food requirements can be sorted by Samantha, the bar manager and Vijay. Excellent service.

Horrible service, extremely poorly kept place. AC doesn't work and even after complaining about it for 6-8 times, no action taken. Manager says it's didn't come to his notice, but even after notifying him, there was zero action. Pics of how bad this place is maintainedz along with the video recording from the staff when complained about the AC. When asked about why the property is not clean, the receptionist mentioned it's a 20 year old property sarcastically

Galle Face Hotel is a luxurious 4-star hotel located in Colombo, offering modern amenities while still retaining its old colonial charm. It's conveniently situated just south of the city center and provides easy access to various attractions. The hotel has hosted numerous famous guests over the years and offers a unique evening experience with sunset cocktails on the Chequerboard lawn terrace, accompanied by a bagpiper serenading the flag-lowering ritual.
Lovely hotel. I didn't actually stay here. I just came for the buffet which was amazing. Wide range of breakfast items to choose from. Food that's actually thoroughly cooked AND hot. Also, pork! Delicious pork in different varieties! Pork, pastries and a full café selection! Absolutely wonderful. The staff were exceedingly courteous and professional. I was made to feel welcome; treated with dignity and respect. Much appreciated. Thank you for having me!

Galle face hotel is all about history, colonial charm, and one of the best location in Colombo! The service there is excellent, staff are well trained. The entire property is very well kept, every part is history. It is directly facing the Indian ocean, watching sunsets and sipping a cool drink by kbe of their bars is a must do! This is part of what makes fond memories of Colombo. Let's talk about the room. I have one of those standard room, which is a bit further away from the main foyer. But good thing is, it is closer to the restaurant that serves buffet (excellent btw). Because it's an old property, many parts are made of wood, floor creaks when u walk even window frames are made of wood. The window didn't cut out much noise from the ocean waves and the band playing until around midnight. The electric plugs are old, some of the cables of the lights are torn and pose great risks. The hot water system is intermittent, hot and cold randomly. In my opinion, this part of the property really could do with a make over and modernization. But the room rate is very reasonable. So, all in all, it isn't a bad experience at all. I recommend to anyone to stay here once, to get that experience of staying at a charming iconic hotel.

We stayed two nights here. Staffs are very friendly and assist with everything. The location is very good. We had high tea at their restaurant it was really good. Generally food is very good. You get historical old world experience there. The museum and the history of the place is interesting. I give 4 stars because the place has a bit of smell and lot of moisture. Floors are very slippery we had to be very careful when we walk on them. I will definitely recommend this place.

Colonial looking hotel with a great pool. They have few restaurants to choose from and very tasty. Good selection of drinks. Really good location and we walked all around the hotel in Colombo. Staff are very helpful and friendly. They have an inhouse spa and a salon too.

I visited there for the boxing day High-tea with my friends. The galle face sea view as we all know is breathtaking. The food was good. The buns were a little dry however there wasn’t any other dishes disappointing us. This is one of the oldest five-star hotels in Colombo. I have been there for Lunch buffet as well. Would rate it 4/5 overall

Great hotel with good customer service. Starting from the doorman, cleaner to the guest relations executive, the care and personal touch is noteworthy. I have given a detailed response to TripAdvisor Google review about the staff. Wishing them a great carrier ahead in the industry. Appreciate guest relations Executive Ivoni for being attentive to detail. Touched us very much 🙏❤️

The Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka, opened in 1864, evolving from a Dutch villa into a world-renowned luxury hotel. Built by four British entrepreneurs and named after the Galle Face Green it overlooks, this historic landmark has welcomed many iconic figures over the years — from politicians like Richard Nixon and Indira Gandhi to artists such as Arthur C. Clarke and Harrison Ford. The hotel’s timeless Victorian-era architecture and colonial charm have been carefully preserved through extensive restorations, including a major renovation of the South Wing in 2006, blending heritage with modern comfort. Everything about this place feels exceptional — the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the architecture is simply stunning. It’s easily accessible from the main road, with secure parking available. The atmosphere attracts both locals and foreigners alike, and the rates are quite reasonable considering the premium experience you get. Truly a must-visit gem in Colombo.

I recently visited this place and had a wonderful experience. The food was extremely tasty — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish I tried was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The customer service was excellent, with staff who were polite, friendly, and attentive to every detail. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impressive, and the overall hygiene was very well maintained. It felt comfortable and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I truly appreciate the care and effort the team puts into providing both great food and great service. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We visited Marion Beach Hotel on 15 September 2025 for their dinner buffet to celebrate my birthday. The buffet was priced at Rs. 5,700 per person, which felt fair compared to high-end buffets in Colombo. The atmosphere was relaxed with no strict dress code, so guests could dine comfortably even in casual wear. The welcome was warm, and we were escorted to our table by a friendly hostess. Seating indoors turned out to be a good choice as the outdoor area got disrupted by rain. The buffet spread was good, starting with a light vegetable soup that I believe was pumpkin and ginger. The starters were nicely presented, but not all were labelled, which can be risky for people with allergies. Clear and consistent labelling would be a big improvement. The main courses were tasty, and staff were polite, though they seemed short-staffed as we had to ask for water refills. The one real disappointment was that my wife had arranged a birthday cake in advance, even agreeing to pay extra, but it was never served or mentioned. For a special occasion, a simple gesture like this can go a long way in creating lasting goodwill. Overall, Marion Beach Hotel offers a reasonably priced buffet with good food and friendly service. We left satisfied, but with the hope that the hotel pays attention to small details that can turn a good dining experience into an unforgettable one.

Amazing stay at Marino Beach Hotel! I had a wonderful experience at Marino Beach Hotel. The location is perfect — right by the ocean, with stunning views and easy access to shops and restaurants. The infinity pool is immense and extremely clean — I enjoyed it every day during my three-day stay, and most of the time I had it completely to myself! It’s almost the size of an Olympic pool, which makes it even more special and relaxing. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff at the reception were always incredibly attentive, kind, and professional — they made sure everything went smoothly during my stay. The rooftop garden is another highlight — a peaceful place to unwind and enjoy the sea breeze. Overall, Marino Beach Hotel exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful facilities, perfect location, and the kindest staff. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Colombo! From the moment I arrived, the front desk team welcomed me warmly – always friendly, helpful, and smiling. The security staff made me feel safe at all times and were also incredibly courteous. The housekeeping team did an excellent job – the rooms were spotless, well-kept, and cared for with great attention to detail. I was especially impressed by the consistently positive and professional atmosphere – you can tell everyone here enjoys their work and truly wants to make guests feel comfortable. A big thank you to the entire team – from reception to security to housekeeping – for your effort and kindness. I would love to stay here again and can highly recommend this hotel! Best regards Nivon Thangavel

Really good. The rooftop pool and facilitates are a huge highlight and pretty amazing. The rooms are good, but we had no balcony nor even a window; just some weird shady opaque glass. The restaurant is nowhere near the standard other reviews suggest, though that is a seperate review in itself. Really really good hotel for the cheap price.

Overall nice hotel. The room is spacious and clean but the balcony is not fully ocean facing. The usp is infinity pool. The value for money can be improved. The cost of only stay without breakfast, is on the higher side.

Located in a central area just 1.3 km from Bambalapitiya Railway Station, Radisson Hotel Colombo offers a luxurious stay with sea views and all-day dining options. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and a buffet-style restaurant, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Stylish guestrooms provide plenty of natural light and some offer sweeping sea views, while also including amenities such as minibars and air conditioning.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and warmth of the staff made us feel truly welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and every staff member we interacted with was courteous, professional, and eager to assist. The room was immaculate, well-appointed, and offered every comfort we could wish for. Housekeeping maintained the highest standards, and every detail — from the fresh linens to the thoughtful amenities — reflected true care. The food at the hotel was simply outstanding, with a variety of delicious options that catered to every taste. The service at the restaurant was equally impressive, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. What truly set this hotel apart was the genuine attention to detail and the personalized care given to guests. Every request was met with a smile and handled promptly, making our stay not just comfortable, but memorable. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and exceptional service!

We arrived super early at 3 am. I called reservations before reaching. She said there is no possibility of getting early check-in. But when we reach reception that person was super helpful and provided us with two rooms. There were only two towels, no face/hand towels, slippers or Toilet mats. The kettle didn’t work properly. house keeping service was super slow. I asked for an iron and had to wait for almost an hour. There was no menu for room service apart from a QR code for a horrible website. Which is hard to navigate and find food. The room was tight and no balcony. But it had very good view. The pool looked amazing but only open till sunset. It was a mix bag of experience and for the amount we paid; I believe we could have stayed on a better hotel.

Our first hotel check in was in Radisson in Colombo. We were warmly greeted and helped into our room. Room size was a bit small but it felt very cozy nevertheless. We had a beautiful view to the Indian Ocean and the scenic roads near our hotel. The hotel has a dine room for buffet, a gym, swimming pool and some rooftop area for relaxing with a bar. The breakfast served is good. Great options are available. Dinner or lunch if having to pay is expensive. Better to order from their menu in the room. One issue with the hotel was their service in the rooms. We asked for water that we received only after three hours. Nobody helped us down with our bags but otherwise perfect.

I have been a Diamond member for a while and have travelled for business and leisure to various Hilton properties abroad. When considering where to stay while on vacation for a month here in Sri Lanka, I wanted to begin our journey right, so decided to book at the Colombo Residences location(as similar to Homewood Suites, they have condo suite style layouts). I couldn't have been more right(and happy) about expecting an awesome experience since Hilton locations have always had a special home away from home comfort while travelling. And this location exceeded all expectations by an immeasurable amount. From the moment I checked in, the evening front desk staff were so kind and warm with their hospitality. As I had Diamond status, I received a very quick and efficient complimentary upgrade to an executive suite on a high floor with possibly the most amazing view of the Lotus Tower. The accommodations were incredibly spacious, modern and comfortable. We also had the opportunity to dine at the hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the course of our stay, as the consistency of the exemplary service continued there as well. Extraordinarily kind and knowledgeable staff combined with a diverse variety of quality(sincere compliments to the various Chefs and attendants) food choices across various times of the day, led to a delicious experience. The overall stay reinforced a sense of comfort and safety as well, because the location is extremely secure. It cannot be stated enough how amazing the entire host of various staff members at this location are. Their kindness, friendliness, hospitality and efficiency were incredible to witness. We have already booked and are definitely looking forward to our next multiple day stays at the Hilton Colombo Residences. If you are visiting or traveling through the city, this location is highly recommended, as it checks off all the highest standards of a luxurious Hilton stay, as our stay was beyond perfect.

Overall 5 stars for our stay. The food (breakfast buffet and dinner buffet superb with lots of options and super friendly staff). Check in very smooth (we arrived at 4am so booked the night before). 30m long pool with many lanes and kiddy pools with playground lots of fun for the kids. Also a steam room, Finnish sauna, and jacuzzi inside the gym area. We had a 3 bedroom apartment which had a king bed, a queen bed, and 2 twins. The living room had a regular non fold out sofa. Also 2 full baths, a big kitchen and washer/dryer. The rooms are getting slightly dated but nothing to complain about - everything was clean and the entire stay was good. Thanks 🙏

Satisfied. Clean and tidy rooms. I stayed in a luxury double room on a half board basis. Room is bit smaller (less spacious), but as i booked a single room, it was okay. Service of the staff is really good and I was really suprised about the speed of them, once I do any request. They reacted and fulfilled my requests very quickly. Pool was also very clean and has a nice view of city area and the ocean. It was located in the roof top. For the breakfast, It was like a Sri Lankan buffet, with delicious foods. I was really satisfied with their food also. Resturant also located in the roof top.

I recently visited this hotel for high tea, and while the food was absolutely perfect – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented – the overall experience was let down by a few key issues. The management staff were not friendly or welcoming, which unfortunately affected the atmosphere. On the other hand, the minor staff were polite and attentive, doing their best to make guests feel comfortable. One major downside was the restaurant area itself – it was fully compact and felt overcrowded, making it hard to relax and enjoy the setting. The cramped space really took away from what should have been a calm and enjoyable high tea experience. In summary, the food was excellent, but the hospitality and environment need improvement

The location is amazing. The beautiful view of the Indian Ocean, the railway line along the sea and the regular train caught our attention. The railway line between the sea and the hotel road is the main attraction. The hotel seems very old. The rooms are beautifully designed and have very nice views. Some places could do with a little renovation. The oldness is quite obvious, which should not be the case if you are a travel enthusiast. Full praise for the restaurant, the staff's behavior and efforts. The chef could have added a little more variety in the type and taste of the food.

We stayed at Hotel Mirage, Colombo in the last week of May 2025. Originally, we had booked another property, but due to a maintenance issue, we were relocated here. Thankfully, Mirage offered spacious rooms with a lovely view of the ocean, and the overall amenities were decent and comfortable. However, the experience was marred by a frustrating check-in process. After a long two-hour journey to Colombo, we were looking forward to getting some much-needed rest — but ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to check in. The staff member at the desk kept assuring us with a repeated “just 5 more minutes,” which only added to the disappointment. A more transparent approach and better staffing could have significantly improved the situation. On the positive side, the in-room dining was surprisingly good, and the hotel’s location is definitely a plus. Breakfast was decent but could have had more variety in terms of options. In summary, the property has potential for a pleasant stay, but the inefficient check-in experience left a sour note. A little more attention to hospitality and communication would go a long way in making this a truly welcoming place.

Perfect location, great breakfast and service from all staff. The rooms are really spacious and have great natural light. The biggest concern is the balcony safety as a small child can fall through the gap/ climb up. This is our third stay within 2 years and the hotel now looks dated. Wouldn’t pay the same amount again

Regarding Mirage Colombo Hotel We had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Mirage Colombo Hotel. We had mistakenly booked the wrong dates for a two-night stay. While already in Colombo ,with our two young kids, we realized the error and immediately tried to contact the hotel to correct the booking. Unfortunately, the hotel staff were completely unhelpful. Not only did they refuse to assist with changing the dates, but they also hung up on us during the call. We tried calling several more times—over and over again—but no one picked up the phone. We were left with no option but to find and book a different hotel at the last minute, which caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience, especially with children involved. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and basic courtesy was shocking. If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Mirage Colombo Hotel to anyone.I’m

ME Colombo is a contemporary four-star hotel located near the Narahenpita Railway Station and various attractions such as Ballys Casino. The hotel offers simply furnished rooms with modern amenities including flat-screen TVs and coffee machines. Some rooms feature balconies with city views. Situated close to Independence Square, the hotel provides intimate accommodation with free parking, a golf course, and a sundeck.
I had a truly wonderful experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and excellent food. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always ready with a smile and happy to help with anything I needed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a very relaxing stay. Every area of the hotel—from the lobby to the dining area—was clearly well taken care of. One of the highlights was definitely the food. The meals were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was a great variety on offer, and everything I tried was delicious. The only minor downside was the limited parking space. If you're driving, you might need to arrive early or make alternative arrangements. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Despite the parking situation, everything else was truly five-star. I’d happily stay here again!

We had the pleasure of celebrating my sister’s baby’s birthday at ME Colombo, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The venue offers a truly breathtaking view, which gave the whole celebration such a special and vibrant atmosphere. The poolside area was perfect for the party, and the kids enjoyed themselves so much splashing around and playing together—it was definitely the highlight for them. The setting was not only beautiful but also very family-friendly, which made it comfortable for everyone, both adults and children alike. Everything felt well arranged and thoughtful, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the occasion without any stress. The combination of the great view, excellent pool facilities, and lively yet welcoming vibe made this such a memorable celebration. I would definitely recommend ME Colombo for anyone looking to host a fun and unforgettable family event.

Had a great stay at ME Colombo . Thank you Rushani at front desk did a quick service and gave the details about Wesak Promotion as well. Also the rooms were cozy and perfect for relaxing. Really enjoyed the vibe at the rooftop bar. Great atmosphere and views. Food was moderate, but overall a solid experience. Would definitely come back!

In October 2022, we made a quick decision to spend a night in Colombo, and we were lucky to find a lovely hotel that made our stay truly enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully arranged, providing the perfect space to relax after a busy day. We especially loved the calm and quiet atmosphere, which gave us a peaceful break right in the middle of the city. It was a short stay, but everything from the hospitality to the comfort made it a wonderful and refreshing experience. We're really happy we chose this place and would definitely return on our next trip to Colombo.

Our stay at ME Colombo was very disappointing and far below the standards we have experienced with the Meliá chain worldwide. The facilities are outdated and poorly maintained: dirty curtains and bedsheets, a shower that did not work properly, and visible dampness in the bathroom. The overall cleanliness was not acceptable. Service was also below expectations. Staff were inattentive and unhelpful, and even spoke rudely to our driver when he parked briefly to help us with our luggage. This lack of professionalism left a very negative impression. Overall, we cannot recommend this hotel. The combination of poor service and neglected facilities made our stay unpleasant, and we will not return.

Fantastic location to stay in Colombo. Centrally located but very peaceful environment. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Located in a safe neighbourhood

We didn't stay but went for a family time in the pool and for lunch. The pool was clean and nicely maintained. There was a baby pool and was really helpful for a family. The location was in the city, but ut was really good environment, covered well, feels so homely and privacy maintained well. My kids enjoyed well the time spend there. Lot of hotels not allow visitors to use a pool but this hotel provide it to a very reasonable price. And the food outlet in the hotel had variety of items, from home-made delicious Xmas cookies to a nice rice meal for lunch. There were quite a good range of white rice, red rice and yellow rice. We all enjoyed it well. We were thrilled to see the great range of platter available at the hotel. But our tummies were full and couldn't try it but hope to try it in near future. The owners were really nice and helpful that made the place feeling like a home. I would love to visit again and hopefully try to stay when needed in picture.

Do not go to this hotel if you want a peaceful stay. The receptionists literally don't care about you and you will feel as if you are not welcomed there from the moment you enter. Also, a renovation happened at 9 AM and started drilling from upstairs!
Hasitha K — Google review
I knew the hotel was old, but the moment you walked in, you'll know the hotel is poorly maintained and lacks any sort of standard to upkeep. The stench of stale air, Dirty carpets on the floor inside the room (I mean, really really dirty), clogging sink, Moss infested water closet, poorly running air-conditioning are some things I hated. The only positives were the location and the pastries. Got to give it to the pastry chef, too good!!!

I recently had the chance to experience Hotel Janaki in Colombo for a few hours, and here’s a quick review of my experience: The hotel is well-located, with convenient access to key parts of Colombo, which is a plus. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the short stay comfortable. The lobby is clean and well-maintained, offering a pleasant first impression. However, when it comes to the room, it felt somewhat dated and could benefit from some renovation. The furniture and decor, while functional, aren’t as modern or luxurious as one might expect. The room amenities were okay, but nothing exceptional. The air conditioning worked well, which was important considering the Colombo heat. The restaurant options were average – nothing spectacular, but adequate for a short stay. The overall value for money seemed decent, though it may not meet the expectations of those looking for a more upscale experience. Overall, Hotel Janaki offers a solid, no-frills stay. It’s suitable for those who need a brief and basic stopover, but if you're looking for a more luxurious experience or modern amenities, there might be better options in Colombo.
Sandun S — Google review
The hotel's maintenance appears to be lacking, particularly with the floors which could use more attention to cleanliness. The bathrooms leave much to be desired, ranking low in terms of hotel standards. The buffet selection is limited and the flavors do not meet expectations. As for the rooms, their condition is uncertain, but the general impression beyond the entrance suggests a dated and neglected atmosphere.
Dineth H — Google review
Compared to other venues in the town, this hotel offers competitive rates for meeting rooms and accommodations. This makes it an excellent choice for businesses or organizations looking to host events or conferences without breaking the bank. The breakfast buffet had a reasonable selection, but it lacked the variety and quality one might expect from higher-end venues. The lunch is similarly basic. While the food is decent and fills the need, it might not impress those looking for a gourmet experience.
Jayaprakash S — Google review
The service and food left room for improvement. Staff responsiveness could be better, and the food quality and variety did not meet expectations.

The Best Western Elyon Colombo offers warmly decorated rooms with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and free WiFi. The hotel's highlight is the Vu Bar, a chic rooftop restaurant and bar that provides a stunning view of the city lights. While it may not offer a sea view, the panoramic sight of the illuminated cityscape amidst surrounding buildings is truly captivating, especially at night.
We had our daughter 's 7th birthday yesterday .And we must say that their staff is very supportive. Hotel has ample parking and the atmosphere was awesome .food, place and everything was perfect .❤️❤️Thank you everyone❤️❤️

I had a good stay at the Best Western Hotel in Colombo. We booked two rooms and both were decently clean, including the washrooms, which made the stay comfortable. The rooftop bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere with a beautiful view of the city skyline, definitely a highlight of the property. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. After requesting, they obliged and allowed me to extend my stay in the room for an extra four hours until my airport pickup, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a positive experience with good service, cleanliness, and a nice rooftop setting. Would recommend for both business and leisure stays in Colombo.

3 star hotel just to stay overnight... the terrace restaurant which is like a sky lounge, the view from the top is good city view. Bar with live music (weekends only) is the only thing which we liked about this hotel. the restaurant is good. staff is good and cooperative. the hotel seems a shady place inside the floors. everywhere they have written & highlighted that anything missing or stolen HOTEL is not responsible for the same. firstly the room given to us was having lock issues which they tried repairing but didn't solved so then our room was changed in this our more than 1hr was wasted.

★ *Never Again – Worst Experience at Best Western, Colombo* ★ Our stay at Best Western, Colombo was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. I would never, never, never recommend this place to anyone. To begin with, when we requested a dental kit at the reception, we were told it was chargeable—a basic amenity that most hotels offer complimentary. Then, without explanation, the kit was sent to the room anyway. Similarly, we had to request tea and coffee supplies multiple times, which should have already been provided in the room. We arrived in the evening expecting a dinner buffet, as mentioned in our booking and payment. But shockingly, there was no buffet at all. Instead, we were simply told to choose between vegetable biryani or non-veg biryani. Buffet was denied and we were offered a set menu. That was it—no starters, no sides, no dessert, nothing. It felt like an afterthought or leftovers rather than a properly planned meal. What kind of 4-star hotel does this? The room itself was average, but several basic issues made the stay even worse: The washroom door lock didn’t work, causing significant discomfort. There was no fridge in the room, and when we informed them we had items like cold drinks and yoghurt that needed refrigeration, we were told, "You can keep your items in our fridge." Only after repeated insistence did they say a fridge would be moved to our room—but that would only happen the next morning! Every time we raised a concern, all we heard was "sorry"—but only by mouth, not by heart. If those apologies had come from genuine concern, the same problems wouldn't have kept repeating. The service was poor, the staff indifferent, and the hospitality non-existent. No courtesy, no ownership, no sense of professional responsibility. For a hotel carrying the Best Western brand name, this place is a complete embarrassment. *It borders on false advertising and should be seriously investigated for misrepresentation*. *Never again. Never recommend. Avoid at all costs*. The following pictures show the complete breakfast. And many things but stale and dry.

The rooms itself are very nice. Staff also friendly and helpfull specially the door guy downstairs. But i have one suggestion and its a very important one. Almost all the staffmembers are wearing very very old shoes. I dont understand why the hotel doesnt give them some new shoes. Because working on old shoes can bring many health problems after years of working and standing up. Shoes are not expensive and i think as an 4/5 star Hotel company you should give your employees good work outfits and shoes included. Because they are the visit card after all. Hope u will do something with this information. Thankyou for the stay.

We recently tried the dinner buffet at Best Western Elyon Colombo. The menu was centered on Indian vegetarian dishes like dhal curries, chickpeas, sautéed vegetables, soup, and dinner rolls, but the variety was somewhat limited. The Indian bread selection offered only chapathis, and the rice option was just fried rice. Non-vegetarian choices included fish fingers and a mild chicken curry, which lacked bold flavors. Desserts featured papaya and watermelon cuts, caramelized banana, and strawberry ice cream—pleasant but not standout. Drinks are not included in the price, which was around 3800++ per person including taxes. Overall, the buffet was decent but could be improved in both variety and flavor to better justify the cost. We hope to see something special added to the Best Western dinner buffet in the future to make the experience more memorable and worthwhile.

Worst service. Don’t have proper cot in room. Very bad support from reception support. Hotel need only money. They tell us to sleep in floor or reception. I wholeheartedly recommend the Ocean Edge Suite and Hotel to prospective guests.

We had a very bad experience. The rooms are big but it had ants and cockroaches around. The balcony view was good but the area is slippery and should be very careful .The bathroom is very tiny and didn't had good ventilation and cramped. Also the food at restaurant was very limited options. We can see the chef's will eat with you with a better menu which you can't find outside. The location is good nothing else.

Awesome sea view hotel but very poorly maintained. Carpets were very dirty, restrooms were black in color, very dirty, no ventilation, bad smelling, flush not working properly, walls had water seepage, sofa and chairs were dirty. Pillow covers were stained, and we had to complain and get it changed again. Food was average. For the view the hotel has, if properly maintained, it would be an excellent stay. Balcony view of the beach is excellent, but the balcony was not clean. It had cigarette pieces and broken balloons all over the floor. Currently, the hotel lacks very much in maintenance.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It justifies it's name "Ocean edge". It's just a road width away from the ocean. Taking the sea facing rooms is recommended. The rooms have almost all required amenities and the room service is good. The gym is small but fine. There is also a pool for swimming. The restaurant service is a bit slow though.

Awesome location. Just adjacent to the sea on marine drive. Suites are quite big with well equipped kitchen and accessories. Bath room is very small and disappointing. Food was quite good

The rooms were quite big, which is the only good thing about this hotel. However, both the room and washroom were very dirty, and the washroom had a terrible smell. The bedsheets looked like they hadn’t been changed in years. Restaurant service was the worst — we waited 45 minutes for our food, and when we asked, the waitress laughed and talked in her language instead of helping. Overall, a very disappointing stay. Would not recommend.

During my one-night stay at this hotel, conveniently situated in proximity to Dehiwala town, I found the rooms to be reasonably comfortable and adequately clean. While they may not offer opulent luxury, they do provide a satisfactory level of comfort for a budget-friendly establishment. The standout feature of my experience was undoubtedly the service. The hotel staff was attentive, responsive, and exhibited a genuine willingness to ensure a pleasant stay. Their dedication to guest satisfaction left a positive impression on me. When it comes to affordability, this hotel definitely falls within the range of a budget-conscious traveler's preference. The reasonable pricing is an attractive aspect, especially when considering the overall value. A noteworthy convenience is the presence of a separate restaurant within the hotel premises. This amenity simplifies dining arrangements and offers a hassle-free way to enjoy meals during your stay. In summary, this hotel may not offer extravagant opulence, but it does provide a comfortable and clean environment with commendable service. Coupled with its budget-friendly rates and the added convenience of an on-site restaurant, it stands as a commendable choice for travelers seeking a cost-effective stay in the Dehiwala area.

This is one of my favorite hotel. Everything is fine , but these staff will never learn how to handle the telephone. Most of the time it will be engaged as they don't place the receiver properly. I flagged this two times. Still it is engaged for 2 hours now. uffff.

A great budget friendly place to stay. Rooms are big and has nice clean washrooms. There's a swimming pool too. Room had a small fridge in it. Service is very good and staff is polite. They provided with tea and coffee with an electric kettle in room. Location is also very good.
Ayan M — Google review
Beware of thievery and privacy. That's the first thing I wanna tell anyone. The food was better than average (with generous use of food colours), there's a pool that is 4 feet deep, and rooms in the new wing are spacious. That's all that is there. The service is horrible with the concierges on the lookout to take away anything you leave behind as you leave the pool or the restaurant, or just happen to drop on your way. If you fight for your stuff, they will acknowledge that they are in possession of the belonging, and would even promise to bring it to your room. You'd never get it back however. Such is the wickedness that you'd be helpless. You wouldn't run down to the police for a $ 100 stuff and they know that you are helpless. They'd even laugh at you and pass jokes about you. The photographs they show on booking websites are those of the new rooms, but you may get the old one when you reach the place. You may have to fight for the newer rooms you saw on the website. Rooms in the old wing are cramped and smell of old wood. The newer rooms numbering 5XX-6XX are spacious. They are however a show case and a privacy nightmare. Everyone passing by can see you living behind a large glass wall that rises from the floor, up to the ceiling. The whole-wall glass pane is covered by a drape that is smaller than the glass, leaving huge gaps which show one whole side of the room. You will have to be watchful every time you step into the other half of the room. Another problem with the interior is the bathrooms of adjacent rooms. They are separated by a wall with a large grille at the top making it feel as if you are in a shared bathroom. You can hear everything spoken in the next room if you step inside your bathroom. Worse, you may even have to tolerate the odour from the other bathroom. There can even be a peeping toms from the other bathroom. Food colors: You will find plenty of food color bottles outside the dining halls and beside the pool. I don't know whether these are safe, though chances are that these aren't. I wouldn't want to have any artificially colored food. There are plenty of mosquitoes in the rooms and they don't provide you any repellents. Though new, the furniture have sharp edges and handles, which can get you hurt. The latches and locks are sharp and tight, as if made to hurt anyone who dares to use them. The lockers for safe-keeping don't work and the electric kettles are dirty. With poolside parties and plenty of music, don't expect the place to be quiet at night. If you plan to stay here, be sure to lock you stuff in your bags before you go out, do something about those large windows if you don't want to be seen naked by others, shut your bathroom door if you don't want those in the next room to hear you talking, bring a repellent, don't forget anything anywhere, eat in moderation, keep some meds in stock, and learn to keep a cool head.

I stayed there for a night only and the best part was its location. It's situated on a busy main road where you can find many stores and other shops of interest. I think it's an old hotel as I felt by the equipments and furniture etc. Overall it was clean and comfortable. Staff was also good.

We had a delightful stay here. Service was outstanding! Samadhi, was super efficient and attentive at every breakfast. Loved the rooftop pool, food and amenities. No request was turned down. My only negative comment is the decor relating to the Indian restaurant which ruined the look of the reception area. I fail to understand the logic. Overall though, it was a great stay an we are very grateful to all staff for making it special!

We absolutely loved our stay at NH Collection Colombo. Located in a prime area, it offers breathtaking views of the city and sea from the rooftop. The staff was very helpful, and the food included good Indian options. A special mention to the Indian chef who kindly helped us with baby food. The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered great views. Overall, a wonderful and comfortable stay, highly recommended.

I recently dined at an Indian restaurant, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The aroma of freshly ground spices hit me the moment I walked in, warm, inviting, and unmistakably authentic. The menu had a perfect mix of classics and regional specialties. I tried the butter chicken and mutton curry both rich, creamy, and bursting with layered flavors. The naan was soft with just the right char, perfect for scooping up the curries. Their biryani was fragrant and beautifully spiced, each grain of rice infused with flavor. GREAT SERVICE BY CHEF MANGALSIGH, ISURU and RANJITH

This is an excellent property for anyone who is looking for a location in Colombo with comfortable pedestrian access and egress towards shopping, movies and the coast. There are a fair number of 'sights' within easy reach as well. Service at the entrance was a little brusque and check in took longer than we expected, but we had a good stay overall. Tip: ask for a sea facing room on the higher floors; we stayed in a city facing room, but could see what we were missing from the rooftop. That said, the rooms are well appointed, with the exception of mirrors lacking in the non-bathroom areas and a missing hair dryer, which we had to wait quite some time for. The service and foods at the restaurants (Thai Rasa and Ayu) was great! Staff are friendly and willing to listen and prepare some pretty good food - do ask for Alexander (the restaurants' manager) if at Ayu - he made sure we were comfortable and even asked for preferences for our next meal. His team, especially Kavidu and Chamodi, made our selections and dining experience very positive ones. The rooftop pool is excellent, though the jacuzzi is a little meh, and the gym is well equipped with fitness professionals and even a smith machine. Definitely looking forward to trying the NH Colombo again.

Very good variety of restaurants from Thai to Indian and a big breakfast variety. The friendly and kind stuff makes a stay there unforgettable with their beautiful welcoming ceremony. Water was leaking from the roof of the toilet constantly and it was falling on my head when I was using the sink which made me uncomfortable, and inside the room water was leaking from two more places of the roof when it started to rain outside, so we had to put mats on the floor. Some of the walls were discoloured due to water damage. The mechanism to lift the bamboo blinds of the windows were broken so I had no way of opening the windows. It would be nice to have a tv in the room and a water heater with some coffee and tea or else a intercom to get room service. Plus a mosquito vaporizer would come handy too. I would say the place doesn't look that luxurious as it shows in the photos. The Place has great potential, they should consider refurbishing and fixing the rooms. Wifi was excellent, Breakfast was average, no other options were given (coffee, passion fruit cordial, toast bread, jam, butter and omelette)

Check-in was fine after airport collection from host and food was good even though we had to leave for the early train to Kandy the host provided some things to eat. Host was brilliant, Room was very good with large bed and nice pool. There was a nice sunbathing area and some gym gear to work out. Just a short tuk fuk from city and 20mins from train station.

Villa Capers offers the perfect combination of privacy, clean air, and comfort! They have a beautiful courtyard both on the lower and upper flats in addition to a personal backyard terrace on the ground floor. The staff are super supportive in organizing trips, taxis or any transfers.
Lisa L — Google review
The property is a converted Villa... with a property care taker and a few staff. Missing the minimum basic features like a intercom to reach the reception when in need, a table and chair in the room, a wardrobe, bed switches. You would also be left with broken fan, lights and torn linens in the room. To add you could be accompanied with unused wooden windows & partitions in your room. Not too sure how that’s a value add !!. Wouldn’t recommend or stop by here again. Two star is only for the overall ambience and location of the property.

Nice boutique hotel in Colombo. Clean environment and comfortable room. Toilet is very clean. Friendly customer service. But there is no wheelchair accessible entrance or parking facilities.
