1Hôtel du Palais Biarritz - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

Resort hotel
The Hôtel du Palais Biarritz - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is a luxurious retreat with a rich history dating back to the 1850s. Originally built for Empress Eugenie, it now stands as a lavish beach hotel offering opulent rooms, dining with stunning sea views, and a lavish spa. The palace has been restored to its imperial glamour and is now the heart of the resort that grew around it.
This was my third or fourth stay in the past decade, and I had forgotten just how luxurious the experience is. The rooms are beautifully appointed—especially the incredibly comfortable beds. The building itself is stunning, perfectly located right by the beach in the heart of Biarritz. The hotel’s amenities, including the outdoor pool and indoor spa, are top-notch.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel du Palais in mid-July. We had a lovely time. Dinner one night on the terrace, breakfast each morning, drinks by the pool, and room service for lunch one day. The hotel’s restaurants were very accommodating of allergies and the concierge even called up a restaurant on our behalf to confirm they could manage with our allergies. Staff was attentive and friendly. They tended to our room quickly each time we left, which exemplified the top notch service we received throughout our stay. Would highly recommend others make the trip to Biarritz just to stay in this hotel.

What a special experience. We had Brunch on Sunday and what a fantastic experience. We were greeted and served by a wonderful team and the food was outstanding. Carla, Romain, Amory and M Griffon were the members of staff we met but we could see that this was such a well run Restaurant!. If you want an out of World experience then I would highly recommend a Sunday here.
Rob R — Google review
The Hotel du Palais is absolutely the best property I have ever stayed in! I had the joy of hosting my wedding for 150 people at the Hotel in July and it was absolutely incredible. The team at the Hotel is gracious and accommodating, and the rooms and views are spectacular. From the spa to the restaurants, you will find luxury everywhere you turn. I highly recommend the Hotel du Palais for a stay or an event- you will not be disappointed. Thank you for everything!

We passed by for a coffee and champagne to a have a business meeting with my partner (2 persons) around 12:30, Friday. We were refused to sit at the terrace with nice weather, been said it was full but it wasn’t. Ok. We sat inside in the bar. Bringing the menu took 20 min! Bringing champagne another 15. Champagne was very good, though. Waiter was nice to us but too long, we were not the only ones who were unhappy.
Kristina B — Google review
Fantastic location and exceptionally friendly staff. However, the room was somewhat disappointing, especially considering the rate of over €1,600 per night. I had booked a sea-view room—judge for yourself.
Oliver M — Google review
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel du Palais!! If you're aiming for something you can only find in France, this is the place. The history of the palais alone is worth the visit. The views, grounds, and staff were all incredible. I had a cocktail at the bar (some sort of clarified take on a bloody mary) that was one of the most interesting and exciting I've had in France; I still think about it. When we visited a few years ago I ordered a dirty martini and they didn't know how to make it (they brought me a Vesper with an olive), so I was pleasantly surprised to have such a perfectly balanced and well crafted cocktail this time. The pools and access to the beach are fantastic and it's walking distance to many cool local shops and restaurants. My only real complaint is that there were not enough hooks to hang towels or wet items in the rooms. The closet is large but is carpeted which makes it a less than stellar spot for hanging a wet bathing suit/towel.
Morgan J — Google review
We spent 5 nights at this Hyatt branded hotel in June. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Location: The hotel is walking distance to the main sections of Biarritz. Property: The grounds are beautiful. Check-in/Reception: Our rooms were ready by check-in time. The process was smooth and easy. Staff: Everyone was very friendly and attentive to us. They tried very hard over my stay to make the Chromecast work in my room. Nesma and Emma were amazing. Rooms: We had 2 Deluxe Ocean Rooms and 1 Junior Suite City View. The rooms were nice but they are all somewhat different so it's hard to know what you will get. The Jr. Suite is above the Deluxe room, yet the Deluxe bathroom was much larger the the Jr. bathrooms and included bathtubs. The shower was small and felt like a plastic inset so easy to slip when soap was on the floor. The room stayed cool despite the summer heat, but the blackout shades let in a lot of light so it was hard to sleep after sunrise. Food/Room Service: The food at the hotel was all good. We ate in the restaurant and bar a couple times during our stay. We had breakfast delivered to the room and it arrived quick and hot. Pool: They have a large pool overlooking the ocean which is lovely and surrounded on one side by many cabanas. The cabanas are nice with their own private bathrooms. The only issue is they get very hot with no air circulating in them so fans would make a big difference. The pool is also extremely warm and felt closer to a hot tub. They have an ice cream shop on property near the pool which the kids loved. Spa/Gym: They have a gym and a spa but I didn't visit them on this trip. We would stay here again on another trip.

Hotel
Regina Experimental Biarritz is a luxurious 1907 hotel with elegant belle epoque design, offering stylish accommodations, exquisite dining options, and stunning bay views. The recently opened Frenchie Biarritz in the hotel serves exceptional dishes featuring top-quality local produce from the Basque Country. The property is now managed by the Experimental Group, known for Le Garage and Frenchie in Paris.
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay as a family with a 1.5 year old toddler. The hotel is in a great location - a bit further from the hustle of Biarritz but close enough to everything. The hotel itself is very stylish, the common area is very attractive. The room once again is both very attractive in terms of design but also very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the hotel, special shout out to concierge Thomas. The bistro is open throughout the day and cooked some amazing food which our little one enjoyed very much (she is usually a fussy eater in holidays). The only small criticism I would have is that the breakfast selection could be a bit more varied at this price tag but was good enough to enjoy. Look forward to coming back.
Vytautas M — Google review
Not our first time at Regina but certainly our last time! We wanted to use a spa and found out the steam room was not working. Ladies at the spa ‘ turned it on’ with no success. Went to a reception desk. Two lovely ladies there ( a real ´dream team’!) - one an intern and another with much more substantial life experience reassured us that everything was working. They even spoke with a technician on the phone. We went back to our room to wait for a phone call confirming that the steam room has been fixed. Of course, no phone call! On a way to dinner, we did ask for an update from our lovely front desk ladies and they reassured us that not only everything was fixed but apparently the technician confirmed that we were at the spa having a great time! Needless to say the steam room was never fixed….. Amazing approach to customer service- just keep convincing the customer that the problem doesn’t exist and hope the problem will go away! We could not leave this hotel fast enough. Dont waist your time and money, there are plenty other options in Biarritz! And of course, we completely understand that Regina may wanted to save some money and not run a steam room while the hotel was almost empty-it just needed to be communicated to customers honestly and openly… apparently too much to expect from a 4 star establishment :))
Angela — Google review
You arrive at the hotel and you are welcomed by a set of stairs with no ramp, service or elevator to carry your luggage up. I had to work and I asked to have a meeting room and was told it was booked. I sat in a sofa in front of an empty meeting room until 2pm completely uncomfortable. Nobody using the meeting room. I asked for late check out, also not possible. The room is comfortable, nice bathroom, good coffee, just need more space in the sink though. A bit far from city center but have nice lighthouse and view close by.
Ruth C — Google review
The Regina Experimental has been on my list since it’s opening. As it is winter now, and the restaurant is only open in the evening, I decided to go to the Patio and have a little bite there. Whereas the interior is truly stunning and breathtaking, the rest of the experience wasn’t for me. I was the only guest present when I arrived. The stuff was unfocused and unengaged. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. The fries were undercooked, the sandwich was unbalanced and boring. Nobody ever checked whether I liked my meal. I had to catch the attention of one of the waiters in order to be able to express my disappointment. Even though I did not have to pay for the food, I will certainly not come back. Not interested in this kind of approach towards the customer. I only give two stars because of the beautiful interiors and the nice champagne.
Christiane — Google review
We had a really lovely stay at this beautiful hotel just a short walk from the centre of Biarritz and very close to the lighthouse. The staff were faultless particularly on the front desk. We had a very helpful and polite young man who showed us to our delightful deluxe bedroom and also recommended local restaurants, as this was our first time in Biarritz. We had no complaints at all, although the shower in the bathroom was a little difficult to get into, as it was in a bath and you had to get into it to turn on the taps. A bit difficult when my husband is 6 ft 2"! Also as the check out is quite early and our flights into the afternoon, it would have been helpful to have a hospitality room. All in all though, it was most enjoyable and hopefully, if we visit Biarritz again, we will almost certainly stay at this hotel again. Thank you Julia

Really nice hotel with an unbelievable view out to the sea. Just was there in the office season but it must be even greater during summer time. Recommended!

Regina Experimental Biarritz is simply top notch. What a great location and what excellent service and comfort. I loved it. The moment I arrived I felt welcomed by everyone I met - starting with Susie who was nothing short of gracious. Throughout my stay it started to feel like home away from home to me as all the details were paid attention to. The room was wonderful, filled with light, great amenities and even a nice gift that is actually tasteful to welcome their guests. The whole staff was exceptional and kind - never any attitude and always very welcoming. The breakfasts are tasteful as are the smiles that greet you upon arrival each morning and throughout the day/night. I would like to call out the names of those who were always attentive. Thank you all for making my trip so memorable. Thank you, Susie, Thomas, Antoine, Dak, Tatiana, Ceasar, Venus, Carlos, Maialen and the whole morning crew at breakfast. You are all wonderful. Thank you to the general manager Charles who was equally kind. I made sure he knew it was a very well run place with exceptional spirits. I wish I had written all your names down but I see you all in my memories, which thanks to you will be close to my heart. I look forward to coming back. A bientôt and thank you.
Bluewater R — Google review
The hotel isn’t great — the service is terrible and the guest services are run by very young kids with very little experience. For this price you should stay at the Hyatt right on the beach which is gorgeous. The quality of the furniture is poor and the lighting in the bedrooms as well. To me it just feels like too much pattern over pattern and very jarring. I struggled with the service overall and the team understanding allergies and dietary requirements. The location is great tho. Short walk from the beach!

Hôtel Windsor Biarritz is a modern and dog-friendly lodging located in the heart of Biarritz. The hotel offers bright rooms and suites with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. It has a cozy bar and a restaurant, providing room service and a 24-hour front desk. Recently renovated in 2021, this environmentally-friendly hotel provides stunning sea views and access to spa facilities facing the ocean.
We stayed three days, and were very happy with the hotel. Location is perfect, near the beach and the commercial area, the rooms were nice and functional; no noise and well maintained. And the service was very nice and efficient, particularly the women in reception made check in and out easy and fast. Breakfast was also good, with many choices. And the view to the sea was spectacular around the sunset. We will be back.

Overall very good. Shower in room on the 7th floor has no pressure nor constant temperature. Slippers in the room would be a nice touch. A bit small. You can’t close the bathroom door when the toilet seat is closed. Only one narrow lift to serve 7 floors. Amazing view from the room. Parking is not included in the hotel, will cost 25 Euros per day at Casino parking.
Philippe M — Google review
We had an excellent stay in this hotel. I especially appreciated the high quality breakfast that was included (which is so rare in Europe). The location can’t be beat and the front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Andrew S — Google review
The rooms are filthy, covered in stains, the staff is rude not pleasant to interact with. The entrance looks like someone did a drive-by. The food is mouldy. And there are strange noises at night. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone. There are plenty of cosy hotels in Biarritz!
Aleksandr K — Google review
It’s really not worth what you get, the rooms were not big the shower is small and the floor after is al wet. Plus We had asked about the possibility of a late check-out, and both my partner and I understood that we could check out at 14:00 and then leave our suitcases with reception. However, in the morning I received a message stating that every hour after 12:00 costs €15. We were then charged an extra €30. It’s not even about the money—it’s about the service. If there was a misunderstanding, the hotel could have tried to accommodate us, even charging for just one extra hour instead of two, to avoid leaving guests with a bad experience.
Sapir M — Google review
Stunning location, very good room with seaside view. The people were super friendly & helpful, even when we were late for check-in due to traffic! The breakfast was included & delicous with baked good from local places!
Sketchy K — Google review
Honest review after my stay in Biarritz I had high expectations for this hotel after researching for quite some time, and while there were some positives, the overall stay didn’t meet the comfort I was hoping for (especially for the price I paid). It was supposed to be a 4* hotel, but it wasn't. Pluses: Location: If you’re not coming by car, the location is perfect – just a 2–3 minute walk to the beach and very walkable to everything. I’d rate it 10/10. However, if you do come by car, be aware that parking can be a real challenge. Staff: Everyone was welcoming on the first day, but they seemed very busy on other days, especially at the reception. Most of the time, I was the one initiating a greeting when entering. Food: The breakfast buffet was delicious and fresh, but the selection stayed exactly the same each day during my stay and sometimes bread was not fresh in the morning, it was stiff. Minuses: Noise isolation: Unfortunately, the rooms (and hotel overall) have no soundproofing. I could clearly hear conversations and TV from the room next to mine, even though the guests weren’t shouting. My room also had a connecting door to the other room (their side was closed, mine was locked), which made me uncomfortable as I was staying alone and didn't know if they can possibly open that small door or if someone else could. Noise from the hallway was also very noticeable both in the mornings and at night, making it hard to rest. If you’re a light sleeper, have small children, or are looking for a peaceful stay, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for that reason. Lift: The elevator is slow, so if you’re staying on higher floors (5th–7th), be prepared to wait. I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to share my honest experience. I came to Hotel Windsor Biarritz to relax, but due to the noise and lack of soundproofing, I couldn’t get the rest I was hoping for. Wishing the hotel all the best and hope they make improvements in the future.
Razhaa S — Google review
I do not recommend this hotel. They did not communicate well about our booking and double-charged us. A frustrating experience at check-in with no manager to sort things out. There are no amenities on site. The bathroom smells of sewage/sulphur (on the top floor!) and there is rotting wood on the baseboard. I recommend less expensive hotels in Vieux Port (le Gamaritz is an excellent value!). The beach in Vieux Port is nicer, more intimate than the Grand Plage.

The Grand Tonic Hôtel & SPA Nuxe is an art deco style hotel located in the heart of Biarritz, offering vibrant rooms with whirlpool tubs and a restaurant/bar. The hotel's restaurant has received high praise for its fabulous meals, making it a great dining option during your stay. While the location is perfect for beach access and exploring the old town, some guests have noted that the rooms could use some maintenance and attention to detail.
Very comfortable, clean and friendly hotel. The rooms are well equipped, a good size, quiet and the showers are hot and powerful. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel, the dinner was tasty well seasoned and well presented, but the breakfast was something else entirely! A large, delicious, freshly cooked, and copious buffet, really pleasantly surprised. All of the staff are polite and friendly, and the spa was lovely addition. It's very close to the beach and central to the town
Hannah M — Google review
We stayed 5 nights in this very centrally located hotel with garage parking. We felt very comfortable – the room was cleaned every single day with fresh towels, and the slippers and bathrobe for the spa were even replaced once. Really very attentive service. The spa was small but lovely, and we enjoyed using it to warm up after a visit to the beach. The hotel’s central location was perfect, as we could walk to all the main sights, and it was easy to pop back for a break whenever we needed. The only downside is that the hotel is right on the main road, and there’s a nightclub across the street where people were loud until the early morning. The windows are very soundproof, but if you’re a light sleeper, a room away from the main street is a better choice – and you can’t really sleep with the windows open. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay for us, and we would definitely come back!

Good location, very close to the beach, spacious rooms. The room was cleaned every day! And the most important thing is that you can use the SPA! In the rooms there is soap, shower gel of the Nuxe brand, it's divine!

A wonderful stay at hotel tonic. The receptionist Valarie made us so welcome and staff all very professional. Room was very comfortable and cleaned to high standard. We enjoyed a very good dinner in restaurant. Great presentation by chef and very tasty. waiting staff were lovely attentive but not intrusive. The choice on the menu was good. Enjoyed the use of spa facilities at the end of the day. Nice way to relax. The hotel accommodated us at short notice on the second part of our trip and made sure the family were all looked after. What made our visit so good was the staff. Thank you for looking after us we will be back again, sonya, Alexander and Olivia Stevenson

Poor. No plugs in normal places in room. .room was strange layout with fake flowers on mirrors. Aircon we couldnt turn off big paper sign over it and not able to turn off.. Staff hoovering outside from 9am and knocking on door all morning even though check out was 11.30. This is not nice as I didnt sleep much. Very stressful. Doors all dented with painting needed all over. But v close to beach and town. Card for door had to be tapped 5 times before entry.. cheap wooden floors v noisy with hoovering. Collected bags and coats that we left on top of bags were not with them. Now I have to travel back from san lux to biarritz to get coats which were moved. Also expensive for what you get. The spa was lovely and nice nuxe products

5Sofitel Biarritz Le Miramar Thalassa sea & spa

Hotel
Sofitel Biarritz Le Miramar Thalassa sea & spa is an upscale property with refined rooms and beach access. The hotel offers two pools, fine dining options, and a prestigious spa resembling a snow-white cruise liner. It is conveniently located near the city center, congress center, and casino. Guests can enjoy a wide sandy area with easy water entry and a healing effect from the calm sea.
Had a wonderful 5 night stay at the Sofitel in Biarritz. Rooms are spacious and clean, bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, staff friendly and attentive. The location is unbeatable, with direct access to the promenade and beach, and a very short walk into town. The salt water pool was incredible. The hotel is impeccably maintained: yes the facade is a little dated, but given the location by the sea completely understandable, which is why I can’t understand the negative reviews
Stefano M — Google review
What a sad and forgotten hotel. Lost in the 1980s glam resort build, it has not been updated since. It was literally falling apart. Peeling paint, worn carpet, broken railings. That said, the staff were excellent. Warm, friendly, and super accommodating. The beds were as comfortable as can be, and breakfast was delightful. But for almost $1,000.00 per night. It's just not worth it.
Eva L — Google review
Let me first say that all staff was very polite and always helpful. So that‘s what my stars are mainly for (and also the location directly at the ocean). But then the place is also pretty shabby and worn down. Considering the price for the stay, it‘s really in an unacceptable state. I‘m sure there are many well kept small no-name places in Biarritz with reasonable prices. Next time I‘ll stay in one of these.
Philip G — Google review
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. A wonderful location and friendly staff, but the building is ridiculously outdated and looks like it hasn’t had any upkeep since the 90s. There is a nice outdoor swimming pool, but the indoor facilities are small, randomly dispersed and not well maintained, even with bits of walls falling down (see photo). Worst of all they upsold us a “room with sea view” when it seems like all rooms actually have a sea view, and then the terrace doors are so old they aren’t double glazed and don’t close properly either, so the sound of the roaring ocean will keep you awake at night. We booked two nights but left after the first night as it was so unpleasant.
Simon J — Google review
This hotel maybe used to be a 5 star hotel. Today it is a musty, dingy, dirty hotel that deserves zero stars other than excellent location and nice people who work there. The price is ridiculous for the quality of the hotel. If you are thinking of staying here, stay at The Palace next door for more money. I will not consider coming back here again unless it has a full redo. I will post photos and you can believe mine, not the hotel’s. My goodness!
Daniel M — Google review
Very outdated hotel that definitely does not meet 5-star standards. The rooms have old carpets, low ceilings, and there’s a noticeable unpleasant smell throughout. The entire property feels worn out and poorly maintained. Overall, this was probably the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The only positive: the staff is friendly and helpful.
Olga G — Google review
Wonderful staff, rooms, spa facilities, pool and breakfast. The only oddity is the deteriorating building. They say they can’t repair it because it has art of a coop but what would it take to patch the holes and paint the crumbling exterior. Otherwise it’s a five star property—even with its dated interior which is well maintained. But the exterior is really alarming.
Deborah R — Google review
Overall the hotel was ok. Our room was clean and comfortable, all amenities you need for a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful when checking-in. The outdoor pool was also clean. However, the hotel in general was showing signs of needing maintenance and refreshing (e.g. rust and peeling paint). Definitely not worthy of 5 stars. Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at the spa and would definitely not recommend. My partner is not the type to complain but he said his massage was terrible. The spa therapist had poor technique (my partner described it as being similar to someone slapping on suncream) and they ran out of massage oil causing friction and discomfort. Very disappointing and unacceptable given the treatment cost of €135 (50 minutes). We pre-paid for our treatments online before our stay and tried to give feedback when checking-out of the hotel, however the receptionist said it was her first day and did not know how to handle the complaint. The general spa facilities (indoor pool, hammam and sauna) were average at best - I expected much better based off the hotel’s website. I would say the spa facilities were similar to that of a public leisure centre. At nearly £300 per night, I generally think the hotel is overpriced.

Discover the elegance and charm of Hôtel Mercure Biarritz Centre Plaza, housed in a 1920s art deco building. This boutique hotel offers chic bar and patio areas with stunning ocean views. The hotel's exceptional location facing La Grande Plage, in the heart of Biarritz, provides easy access to the city center and its attractions. Experience contemporary comfort in light-filled rooms that preserve the original architectural elements while offering a peaceful retreat.
The Art Deco ambiance of this hotel gives a real feeling of luxury. The staff are extremely welcoming, helpful and efficient. The gift of local chocolates with a handwritten note of welcome was an especially nice touch and much appreciated. The bar staff were very attentive and breakfast taken in the bar area had a good choice of hot and cold options. We particularly liked the local touches - the cheese, the mini gateaux for example. Our room was always spotless and the bed remade perfectly everyday. So many hotels seem to skimp on this, so again it was much appreciated. Altogether a wonderful experience and one that we cannot wait to repeat.

Stayed here for one night. Location is excellent - around 10 mins in a taxi from the local airport or 15 minutes in the bus. The location is just across the road from the beach area. Staff were very nice and friendly; the bar staff in particular were excellent. The rooms were great; especially the beds which were super comfortable. One of our rooms was upgraded to a sea view superior room - the room featured in the pictures attached. The bathroom was well appointed and extremely clean - I really liked the decoration also. We also enjoyed our complimentary drink vouchers as All@One members. We really enjoyed our stay, we would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

What a gem! The hotel was absolutely stunning only footsteps away from the beach and very centrally located to shops. The rooms were clean, spacious, and the staff took great care of us even leaving us a box of chocolates as a welcome for me and my finance. The daily breakfast was delicious as well with eggs, fresh fruit, cheese, and many more items to choose from. We would absolutely stay here again.

Impeccable stay! This is a hotel that I would love to return; amazing staff, great breakfast, cozy rooms and breathtaking views from the room. It is fantastic to wake up and to see the ocean! On the lady morning we saw the rainbow! Definitely you cannot get any better place. Merci!

We had a wonderful experience at the Hôtel Mercure Biarritz Centre Plaza! The hotel is stunning, designed in an art deco fashion and is a pleasure to walk in. The location is brilliant, and the breakfast is delicious! We are vegan and we had plenty to eat: breads, jams, avocado, fruit, veggies, cereal, granola, coffee, juice and tea. They were very accommodating and provided us with oat milk when we said we were vegan :) We recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Biarritz, its a beautiful combination of old charm and new comfort. Thank you!

The hotel is actually very nicely placed and the decoration is super nice. Room are classy and spacious, but my low rating comes from sharing breakfast with hundreds of flies. See pictures.

Nestled just a short stroll from the stunning Miramar Beach, Hôtel Le Garage Biarritz is a chic retreat that beautifully marries industrial and contemporary design with nostalgic seventies touches. Once an aeroclub and later a vintage car garage, this upscale hotel now boasts 27 spacious rooms and suites, many featuring private outdoor spaces like garden patios or expansive terraces overlooking the breathtaking Basque Country or the ocean. Guests can unwind by the pool or enjoy delightful meals at the on-site bar/restaurant.
Stayed here for one night while exploring the Basque coast. Staff was super friendly, especially Caroline who worked tirelessly and was amazing! She’s an incredible asset to this hotel. Breakfast spread was good, and the hotel is a short walk to the beach. Parking is additional but we found plenty of street parking nearby.

Great value for money ! very chill yet high standard hotel with superb breakfast. only call out: Pool is just next street which tends to be a bit noisy with traffic passing by great walking distance to city and beach + food options very close and on site

Perfect experience in September, and probably in every season. Great rooms, modern concept, courageous architecture. Many rooms include a small backyard area, the staff were super supportive and kind. The kind of hip vibe that has great appeal, as well.

We really loved our stay at Le Garage Biarritz. Our hotel room was big and comfortable, they provided robes and slippers, there is a lovely pool with seats and tables outside, and the staff was so friendly. They also have a focus on sustainability that we really appreciated. Our absolute favorite thing about our stay here is, if you get it with breakfast included, you can either eat in the dining room or you can pre-select by hanging a form on your door before 3am that morning, and they will bring breakfast to you in your room. We did this every morning and it was wonderful. Couldn’t recommend enough.

I think this might be my favorite hotel in France. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and quiet. I was here for 5 nights and the staff were lovely to deal with. The food was quite good too. I would definitely stay here again.

Second time for us on this hotel. We stayed 2 days. The rooms are nice and the personnel really takes care of you. The only drawback was that the restaurant had a limited service. You can charge your EV for free in the parking (the parking costs 30€ per day).

Hôtel Villa KOEGUI Biarritz is a 4-star hotel situated in the heart of Biarritz, just a short stroll from the beach and local market. The rooms are well-equipped with thoughtful amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and small touches like a cooler, tea, coffee, and more. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options. The hotel is pet-friendly and provides welcoming accommodations for dogs including bowls and mats.
A cute and clean and small hotel (I think 15 rooms) on a quiet side street but still centrally located. Many things are just a minute or two walk away. The staff were friendly and during check-in explained how breakfast worked and if I wanted something in particular, she even gave me a map of the town with some places marked for me. I had a room at the back which was very quiet, clean, with a big comfortable bed. I slept very well. Highly recommend.
Sam K — Google review
Great, central location and the staff are really nice. Unfortunately I have to mark this place down because of the total lack of soundproofing in the property as I see someone else has mentioned. If people are in the room above you, you can hear everything. Footsteps sound like loud stomping and unfortunately for us we had people both nights who were up stomping around the room, dropping thigs on the floor until 1-2am so it was impossible to sleep until they had gone to bed. We banged on the ceiling several times but they ignored us, and because there are no staff at this hotel past 6.30pm, there is no one to help you out. The staff were really sympathetic about it and tried to move us but there is no point unless you're on the top floor as every other room has that potential issue. As a 4* hotel i'd 100% expect to be able to get a good night sleep, this really needs to be addressed.

One of the best showers we've ever had in a hotel! Very comfortable bed. No noise from other guests. Good location, right near the principle shopping street of Biarritz. Friendly staff. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Biarritz!

Villa Koegui 1. Reparation and construction in the neighbor building. Dust, early noise and paint smell in the rooms closest to that neighbor building. There are rooms with windows to the other side (where there is no reparation and painting works), but they are occupied and you don’t know that you need to “fight for them”. 2. Hot water problem. It is necessary to wait for about 15 minutes to have the water temperature normal. Initially it is almost boiling no matter which side to turn the bottom. 3. Lift noise. Room neighboring to lift (and there are absolutely no lift halls at the upper floors) is offered at the same price as others. All the people using the lift are standing right behind your door (which is close to your bed) and you hear them talking, walking, using the lift right from your pillow. 4. Management. Since the first minutes of our stay in the room the closeness of neighbor renovation and the lift were clear. The receptionist told that she can’t change the room the same day, and if the next day the room will be available, she suggested us “to talk about it again”. After the complaint about hot water problem it was advised to “use the tape bottom properly”. And it was promised to send someone later to “check it”. The prices for this hotel during the period of neighbor reparation are comparable to the prices of other hotels of the same category without these problems. There is no need to stay sleepless, poisoned with paint smell and to have your mood spoiled during your summer holidays. Life is short ;)

Based on my experience, I am perplexed at how this is the #5 hotel in Biarritz with Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence. We arrived for a two-night stay around 10 pm just before the front desk clerk was packing up to leave. She had a packet ready to go with our room keys, coupons with WiFi passwords for two devices and a letter apologizing for the broken air conditioning in our room. Less than great, but willing to overlook it since it was late and we were tired from a long day of driving and sightseeing. Our 12-hour stay in the room was dreadful. First, the air conditioning, while cooling the room, gave off a strong ammonia/cat urine smell. Google this and you will find it is a common symptom of poorly maintained and heavily used air conditioning and exposure to it is unhealthy. Unfortunately, sleeping with the windows open meant inhaling the secondhand cigarette smoke of guests down in the hotel garden below our window. Second, the WiFi was much slower than the 2G internet on our cell phones. This is absurd in a relatively developed city to offer guests such slow internet access and to be so stingy on how many devices we were allowed to use it with. We were only given 2 passcodes for 2 devices, despite my wife and I having at least 5 devices between us needing connectivity. Third, the room was very dirty. The floors had clearly not been swept or mopped in quite some time and there were loose floor boards. The bathroom vent in the shower was caked in thick layers of dust and grime. The TV remote (for what at most was a 20" screen) was black with fingerprints and grease. Fourth, unlike every other 4- and 5-star hotel we stayed at during our 3 week tour of France and Spain, this one has no staff available overnight. Finally, when we decided we could not spend another night in the hotel and asked the general manager for a refund of our second night she told us she wouldn’t do that and that my complaints were lies. Avoid this hotel at all costs unless you like paying $350/night for a flophouse bed.

Hôtel Jules Verne Biarritz, BW Signature Collection is a recently renovated hotel that pays homage to the famous author Jules Verne. The hotel offers 77 comfortable rooms, a coworking seminar space, a restaurant, fitness room, and a large garden with a heated outdoor pool. Despite being part of the Best Western chain, it exudes the charm of a boutique hotel while maintaining the reliability of a well-established brand.
We had an excellent two night stay at the Hotel Jules Verne. The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful . The hotel is spotless and the lovely outdoor pool was a real bonus. The location is excellent with the centre of Biarritz reachable in less than ten minutes.Overall an excellent experience.

The hotel is nicely situated a short walk away from the beach and the busy streets of Biarritz. The staff are very obliging and nice and the pool is a lovely feature to have. The double room is generally nice, though for anyone on a long holiday there really isn’t space for a large suitcase (we had to keep it closed and upright and open it every morning on the bed). The bathroom has a sliding glass door which isn’t great for privacy and also quite noisy if you get up in the middle of the night. We found the hotel to generally be quite noisy despite it not being in a busy area. Lots of busy families and late-night returns, which didn’t bother us but the walls are thin so it may affect others more. Breakfast is fine, limited continental fare, but if you’re staying I wouldn’t bother with it for the added cost unless you need something quick before going out for the day, plenty of good restaurants a short walk away. Probably wouldn’t stay again but did the job for us while on a long holiday.

Very nice pool area and quiet rooms with great standard and good beds. Pricy but good breakfast (20 eur). Very short walk 10 min down to the city center and beach. Buss close by nr 11 to the airport (1,30 eur) about 15 min away.

Checked in hoping for a quiet night given the residential setting of the hotel. Unfortunately, no such luck. There was a fire alarm around 5 am, after which it was impossible for us to sleep again. To make matters worse, the staff at checkout was unfriendly and didn't even say sorry for the inconvenience. Terrible. I expect more from a so-called 4 star establishment.

The Hôtel Mercure Président Biarritz Plage is a contemporary hotel located in the heart of Biarritz, just a short walk from the beach, shops, and conference centers. The hotel's colorful quarters feature artsy interiors and bay views, offering a comfortable and well-located base for travelers.
First class hotel. We had a sea view, a quiet, fresh, clean room. The bed was very comfortable. The location was superb with excellent access to the beach, port, shopping, etc. Staff were friendly and efficient, particularly Luna. The breakfast buffet was superb - worth paying for in advance. If you read any complaints about street noise, don't mind them. You can close the windows! All in all, we were very, very happy with our stay.

Stayed for 3 nights in July. Excellent location near beach, restaurants, shops etc. Staff were polite and helpful. It’s peak season, but hotel is understaffed. We couldn’t access our room until 5pm on day of arrival. Room cleaning was late/incomplete on other days. Issue with TV was never resolved (multiple requests) as maintenance guy wasn’t working that day/didn’t appear on other days!

We really enjoyed our three night stay. The hotel is very central and the room was modern and very well maintained. It was also very quiet tonight despite the down town location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful which meant for a really pleasant stay. Catherine was a delight, and Esmail also, but all of the other staff we encountered were excellent.

As much as I commit to supporting European businesses like Accor, French inadequacy in the style of "non" sans expliquer/rien ne marche, does not fail to surprise even the most well-intended. I made a simple one night reservation via the Accor's somewhat inept app obviously backed by a credit card that I was told was cancelled upon my arrival in Biarritz. The front desk didn't seem upset, she just said it's not her fault, it's Accor. No explanation given, no previous attempt to contact me via telephone. She told me my reservation was made via booking, non madame, the reservation was made direct on Accor's app. She looked at the original reservation, and gave me a room with an extra bed, which I did not need, she called it an upgrade for extra €20 and a "lovely" parking lot view. No drink was offered. The municipal parking lot next door is very convenient for €25 a night, however the centrally located Mercure President Biarritz Plage has only one temporary spot in the front which was occupied and nowhere else to stop while checking in. A simple sign to lead the hotel guests inside the parking lot can be a relief to the impatient honkers that are in a rush to enter the garage. The breakfast was decent but definitely not worth the quality of €20 there are plenty of restaurants around. In the morning the 2 people from the stuff seemed quite polite, and allowed my elderly partner to use the toilette on the 1er etage. I still have several reservations left with Accor, one in Spain went very pleasantly, we will see how the rest are. Perhaps it's the French. Should I avoid Accor in France and stay else?

travellers can enjoy all that Biarritz has to offer with a stay at Le Grand Large, which is situated in the city's heart. This 3-star hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace and golf course, as well as a laundry room and 24-hour reception. The rooms come with a view of the ocean, and are equipped with all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.
The rooms were clean and nice, the bed was comfortable to sleep in the view of the sea was incredible. There is a small balcony also. The services was ok but the reception was not helpful when I asked where the breakfast was. they said i have to pay first even though i didn’t tell them my room number is included in the breakfast, they didn’t even let me talk it was rude. But the place and view is everything
Manahil A — Google review
Room - Really good, a spacious room with a double bed and bunk bed. My view of the sea was amazing. Had a sofa and a table and chairs, Kitchen sink and fridge. Plenty of power points spaced around the room. Toilet - tiny and separate from the bathroom Bathroom - small sink, the shower was powerful enough Location - Very good it’s close to seafront and town centre bars and restaurants. Don’t bother with a €22 taxi from the airport as public buses stop a 7-8 min walk from this hotel and cost €1.10 Issues - I was staying for four nights and the room wasn’t cleaned once. I raised this upon checkout ( I was a solo male traveller so wasn’t overly fussed) and they said it’s like renting an apartment as opposed to a hotel room so they don’t come into your room until you check out. I wasn’t aware of that before I booked it but that may be my fault. Was provided with one big towel a smaller one and a hand towel for the four nights. No drinks provided for in the room and when I went down to buy some bottled water late one night they didn’t have any left to sell. Staff - some friendly some miserable Overall - I’d expect a 3* hotel to be cleaned at least once in four nights and more towels should have been provided but it also had a lot going for it
K P — Google review
While the hotel itself is a little old style it is super clean, the rooms are great size, bed is cozy and the kitchenette is super handy to have available for food items during the stay.! We found the staff really friendly and the pool was also very nice, although you very much need to be able to swim as it is very deep even at the shallow end. Location is great for exploring and with all the little side streets is very close to shops, cafes and bars.
John L — Google review
I stayed at this hotel and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The building feels very old and outdated, and there is no air conditioning. The toilet had no sink for washing hands, and the fan provided was noisy and partly broken. The bathroom ceiling showed mold, and the room was uncomfortably hot. On the positive side, the location is convenient and close to the city center.
Ignatius G — Google review
Nice, comfortable, clean, and cheerfully decorated studio for a family of 4. Well equipped with everything needed for eating in. Very helpful, friendly and polite staff on reception who allowed use of pool and ping pong throughout both days of our check in and out. Perfect English speaking which was very helpful for our very limited French. Wonderful, warm pool. View from our balcony of the lighthouse and the sea at La Grande Plage over the rooftops of Les Halles. Great location - central but not noisy. Exceptional value - money saved to be spent on the delicious food in Biarritz. Short walks to fantastic restaurants, Les Halles fish and produce market, bars, boulangeries, supermarket, shopping etc, all 5 minutes or less away. Easy access to surfing and swimming at Plage de la Côte des Basques through the sloping Tamarisk gardens with great views and seating on the way down to this beach - just cross 1 road to get there. So easy. The 36 airport bus stops less than 10 minutes walk away at Jardin Public. Approximately 20 minute ride to the airport - approx 5 euros for our for our family of 4. Highly recommended!

This is a pretty bad hotel tbh for how much money they will be making a year and how few staff are around / outdated everything is. Most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in, cleaners didn't return left bag in room to lost property and general feelinf of decay everywhere, even down to half the front door not opening. Better value for money elsewhere.
George P — Google review
I´ve been here twice and always enjoyed my stay. Rooms are spacey and clean, the view on the sea just great! Staff always friendly and caring, breakfast ok and in good relation to costs. The central location is positive for explorations, but can be a point for those who seek silence. In combination with a missing a/c and the need to sleep with open windows the noises from outside can be upsetting. That said, I personally would come here again.
Werner G — Google review
Very good. I've been here two times and I really enjoyed both the location and the rooms. I think it's a convenient place and the prices are quite good. The Grand Large is only few minutes away by walk from the city center. They offer parking, swimming pool, a free luggage services and restauration. Dogs are welcome. The beds are pretty comfortable. I would highly recommend you to book few nights if you are planning a trip to Biarritz.

We stayed only two nights at the St Julien in Biarritz and it was superb. The most cloud comfortable beds, beautiful hotel and absolutely gorgeous, hospitable staff. I enjoyed my stay immensely. Breakfast was delightful and we loved the intimate garden setting to enjoy an afternoon drink and snack after a big day touring the town. Central to all our needs and just far enough out of the main areas to be peaceful. Exceptional in all respects. Merci

Charming hotel with a cute garden and newly renovated common areas. Everything is within easy walking distance. The rooms are a bit small, but it doesn’t detract from the experience. Ideal for a couple of days in Biarritz to soak up the city and the beach. The staff is super friendly! I loved that they were proving guests with beach baskets, yoga mats and water bottles for the stay. Little things like these make such a huge differnce :)

A wonderful hotel located within easy walking distance (4 to 5 min's) to restaurants and shops. We only wish we had a longer stay. The rooms are delightful. For those concerned with practicalities, there is a lift; the staircase is wide; staff speak English very well, were very tolerant of my clumsy French, helpful for information, maps and recommendations; the room had an air conditioner (a rarity in Europe); there is, however, no small refrigerator, which was no great hardship. Loved the welcome note. 🍷🇫🇷

Quiet little inn that is great for a few days r n r. We loved the decor very French n homey The city is clean and very walkable. There was a mixup between ctrip n the hotel resulting in a street level room without the jacuzzi bath n ocean view that we booked. The shower pan is above the floor and the floor was wet when we got done. We enjoyed the nightcap at the bar/restaurant onsite first time there was no smoker around us

Nice hotel, good central location, very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked eggs (made however you’d like them) alongside croissants, pan au chocolat, bread, jam, hams and a couple of different cheeses. Also coffee/hot chocolate and different juices. Croissants or pan au chocolat were available throughout the day in the foyer too which was another nice touch. We paid extra and parked in the on site car park (€20/night), which was very useful.

We had a great experience staying at Hotel Saint Julien. We were privileged to try out a newly designed room, which looks amazing. We love the new design because it was easy in the eye and contemporary as opposed to what you would normally find in a typical coastal french hotel. The bed was super comfortable with crisp and clean sheets. The custom sofa was beautiful to look at but also very comfortable to sit in. The room amenities was luxuriously local. Beyond the room, the service was the main draw. A nice friendly smile was the first thing we arrived to and what we remembered as we left. The staff was very knowledgeable in local recommendations. The location was great, very near to fabulous shopping/restaurants and close to the beach.

Château du Clair de Lune is a grand 19th-century manor house nestled in an 8-hectare estate, just 4km from the center of Biarritz. This 4-star hotel offers a tranquil environment with classic-style rooms spread across the manor and hunting lodge. The property features landscaped gardens, a restaurant, and a piano bar serving snacks. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor pool with bar service during the warmer months.
My husband and I were very impressed with this hotel. Unfortunately we were not able to stay here, due to my 7 year old becoming very ill the days leading up to our stay. When I called the hotel to inquire about their cancellation policy, they informed me that we were past the point of receiving a refund (because we used an online travel agency to book). However they tried their best to get the room rented so they could refund us a portion of our booking. We felt this was more than fair on the part of the hotel considering the circumstances. Both of the women at the front desk who helped us were friendly, responsive, and wonderful communicators. And the owners were so kind to make this exception for us. They didn't have to do that for us and they did it with warmth and professional. We very much forward to staying here next time we are in Biarritz. Thank you, Chateau du Clair de Lune for your hospitality. We will always remember this!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this charming estate near Biarritz. The property itself is stunning — beautifully kept grounds, elegant interiors, and a serene atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the very first moment. We booked two rooms, and both were absolutely gorgeous: spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, with every detail carefully thought out. The beds were excellent, and we slept incredibly well. The staff deserve special mention — everyone we met was warm, polite, and genuinely attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality added so much to our experience. This place feels more like a refined countryside retreat than a typical hotel, and it was the perfect setting to relax and recharge. We left with only positive impressions and would love to return again!

Oh my goodness what a wonderful Chateau to stay in... It is owned and run by the original owners geat grandson. The interior is lovely and reflects it's heritage. Our room on ground floor was large and the attached bath was huge. Beautifully appointed. The bed was large and very comfy. The bath towels thick and soft. They provide robes and slippers. They go out of heir way to accommodate your needs. The casual supper, on the terrace overlooking the fountain and grounds, was tasty. Breakfast the next morning was delightful. NOT the icky usual bread, bread, bread, butter and lunch meats. Ordered a cheese omelette and bacon. They had nice pastries, granola, fresh fruit and jams. Coffee with cream. I could go on and on singing their praises but you need to see for yourself. Definately come and stay here.

We love this hotel! We were treated so well from beginning to end. We came with two dogs and had a perfect room for them on the ground floor with access to a porch. The grounds of the hotel are large and perfect for walking the dogs. The food was lovely and the service impeccable. It is also very close to the motorway so easy access if you're travelling as we were. We would highly recommend for service and comfort.

Beautiful property with swimming pool and spacious garden. Light dinner is available on demand, very relaxing ambience. Worth spending a full day enjoying with wine and snacks and other activities. Prices are reasonable and my room was retro, clean and high in ceiling.

During our stay in the beautiful castle we imagined ourselves a landlord and castle lady for a night. The reception was super customer friendly. The room and the surrounding garden breathtaking. The concluding breakfast gave a feeling of satisfaction before our long journey home.

Great location (secluded but not remote) and property within easy reach of both Biarritz and Bidart. Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with lovely, contemporary rooms in the old hunting lodge. Restaurant in the grounds and heated outdoor pool and sunbathing area. Pretty decent continental buffet style breakfast - could be improved but overall a good alternative to a central Biarritz hotel.

Fabulous hotel, very friendly staff and they speak excellent English. We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights as it was the venue for our son's wedding. Everything was just perfect. The Château is set in beautiful grounds, the swimming pool has a view over the Pyrenees. It is very peaceful yet within a 10 minute drive of the bustling Biarritz sea front. We fully recommend Château Clair de Lune and will definitely stay there again.

Les Baigneuses de Biarritz is a boutique hotel with a stylish restaurant and rooftop terrace. The hotel offers bright rooms and is conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, providing privacy in an upscale setting. The rooftop bar provides stunning sunset views, making it the perfect spot for vacation photos. With only a dozen rooms, this hotel offers an intimate and exclusive experience for guests.
Restaurant: Surprisingly good! I expected mediocre food (great location, so thought it would get lots of passing by visitors, and thus not needing to make effort). But wow was I wrong! The tuna was cooked to perfection with interesting nut/grape flavours surrounding it. Fantastic view of the sunset. Varied menu. Indoor and outdoor seating. God for lunch, dinner or a cocktail

Thnx for nothing! I asked for a nice Restaurant, because they didn‘t serve food at 3pm. The recommendation was the worst Restaurant in my life. Don‘t go to Palmito! It‘s not worth your money!
Daniel S — Google review
Worst hotel I’ve had in a long time! The room smells like an ashtray. Although the view is nice, it’s over looking the restaurant terrace, so it’s really noisy, with awful music in the early evening , and loud conversations late at night. The fire doors slam so loudly my room shakes every time someone passes. The floors are so thin I hear all my neighbours moves! There is black mold around the shower. And when you run the tap in the sink for 30 seconds, the sink backs up! The night stand is so big, you can’t open the wardrobe! Just praying I can get a refund !!
Andromeda N — Google review
Superb location, excellent rooftop bar with the best music and a great view of the little beach. Surrounded by the old port town streets. Be aware, nearsest free car parking is a 20 minute walk away. The lack of personal attention and engagement from staff (although polite) made it feel more like a hostel than an hotel.
Tracey W — Google review
Hotel: the room is not very big, and it smelled a lot like a cleaning product, the terrace is very good, but if you are in the 1st floor you don't get any view because of the bar's umbrellas. The furniture of the terrace could be painted and renovated. Restaurant/bar: VERY GOOD!! The food is great, the staff is super nice and friendly and the sunset is amazing! Do a reservation in advance.
Isabella R — Google review
Well.... The "one star" is more about a combination of unprofessional service, quite high prices, and poor food quality. And don't "fresh fish from the morning market" me. We were served frozen fish of mediocre quality. There's not really one thing that saves the whole experience... The location maybe?

Fabulous location. The standard rooms are small but great views of the beach Port Vieux. Breakfast is good. Lunch and dinner is fabulous. Great ambiance. Helpful staff. Parking is nearby but you need proof of hotel to access the town area. Good wifi. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed my 1 night stay here. Friendly helpful staff, clean room and a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. Food was good in the restaurant. Really close to the airport so not far to walk to catch my flight. Thanks

This was a convenient place to stay.3 mins walk from the airport terminal, and main bus station. Very easy to navigate to and from Biarriyz city center or surrounding areas by public transport. The rooms where fabulous, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are equally amazing, and can't do enough but to help and be of service to you. Evening meals served during the week days are absolutely delicious, and a good selection of breakfast options available also.

Ideal location for the airport. Just a short walk (20 mins) into the town. Rooms were very clean and modern. Staff were helpful and friendly. The food was reasonably priced and excellent. There's a large car park and a restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
Christopher H — Google review
Room was very small. No plug socket by the bed for husband's CPAP machine but staff member did provide an extension from the bathroom plug which meant that the bathroom light couldn't be switched on in the night. Restaurant was closed so breakfast had to be taken in room but no extra chair provided. Stairs to upper floors outside and no lift. Staff were friendly but had to wait in the rain for reception to open for about 15 minutes. Plenty of parking. We were driving so proximity to airport not important to us. Very little provided in way of milk and sugar to make a drink in the room. Bed was too hard for me. Would not return to this hotel. Was disappointed as Best Western hotels in the USA are very good.

A great location right next to the airport. Very friendly staff - clean and pleasant rooms, a good breakfast and a very reasonably priced bar. Recommended

The hotel in the pictures is like a completely different hotel. Did they give me the last unrenovated room? This hotel cost me $300 USD a night (plus outrageous prices for breakfast and water) and it's up there with one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. It was extremely dirty, the carpet was old, it was musty and drab. An extremely tiny room that the two of us (mom and preteen) could barely move around in there with all of our luggage. My kid wanted to soak in the tub and the drain popped out along with what looked like black mold. Disgusting. We had to stay here for two nights after checking out of our Airbnb. Unfortunately, because of the fair the prices were high and all rooms booked elsewhere so we had no choice but to remain until our flight out. I didn't even post all of the pictures I took to show the filth. Unacceptable for a Best Western and I only received an apology!
Kelly O — Google review
Pretty good hotel to be honest. Location as said by everyone is perfect if you're wanting to be close to the airport and there is a local bus stop that gets you to the city centre / beaches. The only gripe I'd have is that the difference between a standard and superior room is negligible. I had a standard room and a friend paid for a superior room however we both agreed that the standard room was more superior in this case. The only difference between the 2 rooms was that the superior room's AC for some reason was in the bathroom which was quite bizarre. Overall a nice place but there's no need to be pay for a superior room

Nestled in the heart of Biarritz, ALFRED HOTELS - Port-Vieux offers a delightful blend of comfort and charm just steps away from the stunning Port-Vieux Beach. Recently renovated in 2024, this hotel features cozy country-style accommodations equipped with Wi-Fi and private balconies or patios for guests to enjoy. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by friendly staff who are always ready to assist you during your stay.
We booked Alfred Hotel in Biarritz on short notice — and it turned out to be a wonderful choice! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a beautifully scented and elegant reception area with a warm, inviting atmosphere. A very kind and charming lady assisted us with check-in and helped resolve a small issue, as we were traveling with three children. Her friendly and professional approach made us feel truly welcome. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional — the beds and bed linen were immaculate, fresh, and perfectly arranged. It truly felt like a 5-star experience. Breakfast was served in a beautifully designed space with a cozy patio. While the selection was smaller, everything was of high quality and nicely presented. When we return to Biarritz in the future, we will definitely strongly consider staying at this beautiful boutique hotel again with our family.

We stayed only one night as a family of four in two rooms but wished we stayed longer. Emma the concierge reached out before our stay offering help and she was kind to book taxi for us from train station and also next morning to the airport. Staff at the hotel are very kind and helpful as well. They were able to provide rooms directly opposite each other which was very convenient. We were able to drop off our many bags when we got there early and went to lunch a few doors up at a fun tiki bar and tacos sushi place. Then we were able to get into the rooms a bit earlier and our bags were already in the rooms, which was very much appreciated. The rooms are chic and very clean. It’s an older charming building, very close to a lovely sandy beach for swimming.

Lovely hotel comfortable well equiped rooms. Large comfortablr beds good sized wet room with toiletries and clothes line. Small balcony a bit too small to be honest but nice. Pleasant staff in restaurant. Clean throughout. Good food. Could do with a few channels on tv in other languages. And the bar was never open. We were stuck in with horrible weather and somewhere to get a coffee or a beer would have been nice.

Jerome and I just wanted to send our thanks and compliments to Mael, the front desk gentleman. He was very helpful and kind. He took the time to explain directions, gave advice on places of attractions etc. We are touring Europe and have stayed in many hotels, so for Mael to make such an impression on us shows the depth of his fantastic customer service. Location of the hotel is not great. To walk to town is about 25 mins and from the hotel, the walk is a bit of a climb up a hill (not overly strenuous but still a climb nonetheless). If you intend to walk to town from the hotel, talk to Mael on how to access the scenic route. The hotel room is ok but what makes this hotel great is the front desk staff. Thank you Mael, you have made our holiday better.

Waiters are very nice and helpful. The service is nice overall. The room is okay but nothing more. It's somehow incomodious (There is a huge closet wasting the room space). The safe isn't big enough to store a thin 13 inches laptop. The bedsheets are clean and tidy with additional blankets. The furnitures are clean and modern but the room decoration mismatches. I do not recommend the restaurant. For breakfast, the fruits, some are too ripe, some not enough. Avoid those bathing in water at all cost. The hot-chocolate and capucino are excessively sweet. The coffee is bad. The pastries, the bread, the juices and the meat are good. The scrambled eggs have too much cream in it. For dinner, the menu doesn't match with what you get in your plate. Ask for an "oeuf poché", you get "oeuf mollet". Ask for grilled vegetable, you get steamed vegetables. The quality / taste may vary. The starters are so-so. It could be better. To me, it's a bit expensive as well. Overall, very nice service but the hotel may not worth the money.

Great place NOT close to the main attractions in Biarritz. To be a little off, gives you the chance to go or to stay, and the stay is quite nice. Guests can enjoy a seasonal outdoor pool and well-equipped apartments that provide ample room for relaxation. While the hotel boasts great amenities like a gym and proximity to restaurants and the beach, some visitors have noted areas for improvement.
The layout of the hotel was confusing at the start but we soon got to understand where everything was. No air conditioning made the room stuffy but we were lucky and took our own fan. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the services provided were good and the pool area was a bonus. Did not expect such low flying aircraft but they were few and far between so not a problem. An easy walk to the beach a good stretch of the legs into the old town .

Apartment hotel in a residential area of Biarritz where we stayed in for 9 nights but never again. Do not consider this to be a hotel since it's more a hostel than hotel. The staff does not do anything, you do everything yourself. We slept in an apartment with no view. It has a bedroom, kitchen and sofa bed as well as a bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Everything was clean enough but we needed to make our own beds as they had only left the linen on top of the beds. The city tax is charged. When you check in, you will be informed of the cleaning policy which is that you must clean the apartment yourself before you leave and used sheets and towels removed and put in the bathroom. This was not informed when we booked the room and the staff is uninformative when you check in. They do not clean the room during your stay. They do not change the towels except for after 7 days, which they did not inform us of. They later told us that if you want new towels you after the first change of towels (we asked them to change our towels on day 5) then you need to pay a fee. The wifi only lasted for 7 days, after that you needed to pay a fee. The room is not sound proof, as we got well aware of when getting woken up in the middle of the night by other guests yelling in the hallway. It's ridiculous that when you stay 9 nights and pay approximately 1500 euro for an apartment in an apartment hotel to be expected to clean the room yourself, to not get clean towels whenever you want and to pay for the wifi. The regular rules that apply for apartment hotels in everywhere else in the world apparently does not apply in France, that's at least what the staff told me when I asked why we couldn't get clean towels. We could fly to a hotel in the Sahara desert and they would have better conditions there. A deposit of €200 is kept in case of damage or cleaning costs.
MMA — Google review
If you love taking out the garbage, you will feel right at home! The mentality of the ownership shows in the culture of the hotel. It is fear of lack of money and seeing their clients as a means to their wealth. This hotel has clearly mastered the art of less—less staff, less service, and less concern for guests. Check-in: A lovely single front desk employee—who deserves both a medal and a nap—battles hour-long lines of people checking in all afternoon. Bring a book. Housekeeping: All guests are required to participate in their housekeeping internship program which, curiously starts early in the morning and involves taking out their own trash into the street before room inspection! But good news, with only a few waking hours possible inside the hotel room, there's very little to clean up. One wonders if the 5pm check-in and 10am check-out is meant to get rid of 75% of their own housekeeping staff. Pool Hours: A thoughtful 3-hour open window between 5pm checkin and 8pm ensures maximum physical bonding time among guests. Very cozy. The Upsides: The beds are nice, the decor is good, and the pool facilities and sauna are lovely. Conclusion: A bold experiment in how few staff a hotel can run on and how we can best trickle-up our economy.

Near center city, clean, quiet during Christmas period, Booked for 3 person, 2 adults and one children.
Delphin A — Google review
This is not an Appart'Hotel but providing a level of service worse than a hostel. No matter how many days you are booked or how many adults you are, you will only have one toilet paper roll in total and one towel set per person for the duration of your stay. You are expected to clean up and take out the trash before leaving but this is expected at an Appart'Hotel. However, the steep deposit of 450 euros is completely unacceptable for stays shorter than a week. The staff are untrained to give clear instructions. The place gets 1 star for a decently maintained pool. Hammam seems to be indefinitely closed for maintenance. With simple changes in housekeeping this place could get better reviews but you cannot get away charging appart'hotel priced while running it like a cheap hostel

Room didn’t have any towels or toilet paper upon arrival. Room looks shoddy. Staff are uninterested and unhelpful. Also seems like they will do anything to fine you/get extra money. Very poor experience.
George D — Google review
I recently stayed in this apartment hotel with a group of four, and unfortunately, our experience was far from ideal. To start with, only one roll of toilet paper was provided for the entire stay—additional rolls had to be purchased at the reception. The apartment was not cleaned during our stay, and towels were not replaced, which felt very inconvenient, especially for a multi-day visit. The staff did not seem particularly friendly or helpful, and we didn’t feel very welcome. The gym, which was one of the reasons we chose this place, turned out to be very minimal and poorly equipped. On a positive note, the location is quite good—central and well-connected—but sadly, that’s about the only highlight. Would I stay here again? Definitely not.
Wesley G — Google review
Male at reception not particularly helpful, I knew more about the cleaning schedule but had to ask about what the accommodation had on offer, facilities, carparking and restaurant. We stayed 4 nights and on every entry and exit to the building this gentleman never acknowledged us as he was always busy on the computer at reception. Small issue, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the accommodation to others.

Place is great and people are nice. The only thing is that you are given the option to clean the apartment while leaving. However, nothing is provided by the place administration to clean the rooms. We had to buy supplies to do it. Parking lots are underground, so if you use this place, please do not rent a big car, because you will need to drive the car to inside an elevator to use the parking garage. Overall it was good.

Quiet area with all you could need in the apartment. Heated towel rails and instantaneous hot water. Would have preferred a double bed rather than two singles pushed together in my room but just personal preference. Comfortable sofa and generous dining table plus a small television. Cutlery, microwave and dishwasher in the room also. Plenty of bins provided. A well maintained swimming pool with loungers was a comfortable area to sit or swim. What really made the holiday complete were the lovely onsite staff. They couldn't have been more helpful and spoke English which was a great help given my rudimentary French. Would have given the staff 6 stars!

Hôtel Anjou, a 3-star hotel located in the vibrant beach district of Biarritz, offers modest rooms with free Wi-Fi and optional breakfast in a charming glass-enclosed dining room. The hotel boasts a rich history and unique architectural features like sloping stairs and beautiful railings. Situated in the lively center of Biarritz, it provides easy access to attractions such as the grand plage and 'rocher de la vierge'.
Perfect location with a lot of food options around and specifically the morning markets. Hôtel itself has a restaurant and bar on their premises which is very handy. Just 5 mins walk from the beach. The staff there were super helpful with all our queries. Highly recommend if you want to be in the midst of buzz and still want to be close to the beach.

Excellent location right in the town centre, a short walk to the main beach and plenty of restaurants and cafes close by. Staff were really nice, and priced reasonably although the hotel is simple and is looking dated, for example the carpet. But was very clean, comfy beds and a nice simple French breakfast. Would recommend for anyone looking in this price bracket.

The Hotel Anjou gets five stars from me! I had a stay of several days there and the hotel captivates with a tangible history. The slightly sloping stairs to the next floor (2 floors) with the beautiful railing are a nice relaxation to the now mostly existing hotels of the modern era. the location ***** (absolutely in the center of Biarritz, less than 100m from the stunning indoor market, which promises a breakfast with charm. Within absolute walking distance are bars, restaurants and vibrant life. Biarritz is not for nothing the recreation area of many French who live in Paris) the friendliness of the staff ***** (all communication beforehand was very professional, the optional parking in front of the hotel is absolutely recommended !!!) the room ***** (I had room 11, a really cozy rooftop room with some romance touch) My absolute recommendation for this charming little hotel in this equally lively and pretty city.

Loved my stay here. Top floor room with good view of sea and town (but no lift) was unexpected bonus. I kept my window wide open all night. Within minutes by foot from both beaches and right next to the food hall. Public parking was not an issue at the end of August. Fair price at best location in Biarritz.

Service was very poor - rooms not cleaned and when queried I was told it’s because it was a Sunday. No hot water in the showers so had to shower cold. Rooms are dated and in need of a revamp. Could not recommend this hotel to anyone - much nicer in the area for similar price

Great location at a very reasonable price for that neighborhood. Rooms are very small but clean and have everything you need. There's a main building and two annex buildings. I was in one of the annex buildings but it's just a few steps away from the main hotel. Good deal for the price and in the middle of a great evening restaurant scene. Recommended.

Service is horrible. "Customer last" should be the motto of the Anjou hotel. Avoid at all costs. We booked two nights. We travelled 11 hours by car and were late to the check-in. So we called the hotel and asked if they can accept us later then official check-in ends. Response was positive, and we arrived an hour later. When we checked-in, it turned out that they cannot accept two adults and two kids in the same room. Alright, we thought, my wife with daughter will take the room and me and son will look for a room in the other hotel. But for some reason they resisted and did not let just two people in the room, despite any common sense. We paid for the room and were prohibited to stay. Looks like a total fraud to me. They did not suggested any alternative solution to us. I am not even mentioning how rood was the manager of this "hotel". They cancelled our reservation, just left us on the street with two kids at 1 am in the morning, and charged us 180 EUR for this amazing client centric "service". Unimaginable in 2021. Now manager of this "hotel" might reply to my review that we were late to the official check-in and they have right to cancel reservation and charge us money. And that might even sound legit. In case we did not call in advance, asked to check-in later that official hours and got OK to do so! If we were told from the beginning that we screwed, we would not waste time and look for the other hotel. One thing is the right of the hotel to cancel, the other thing is how you treat your customers in trouble. This "hotel" failed.

In the city center, it has a parking insidie 15€ for the entire day. Luckily The rooms are soundproofed, so you can sleep even if in rue gambetta there is very loud nightlife.
Aline C — Google review
Perfect accommodation as your base for exploring Biarritz The hotel is located in the very lively center of Biarritz. The grand plage and the 'rocher de la vierge' can be reached within a few minutes of walking. The hotel itself is quite a bit tricky to reach because of the traffic calmed sectors. I was traveling with the motorbike and was able to park at a designated public motorbike parking strip on the side of the street right in front of the hotel. There are some private parking slots right in front of the hotel as well. The room had a nice balcony in the direction of the street. The room was very tidy, clean and functional.

La Suite is a newly opened hotel in Biarritz, located just 400 meters from Grande Plage and 300 meters from the city center. The hotel offers concierge services, non-smoking rooms with ocean views, a terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can enjoy room service and a bar, as well as a delicious breakfast included in the rate. The decor is described as sober and refined, with top-notch toiletries provided.
Fantastic service! Nice rooms! And new very conveniently located hotel to explore Biarritz. The breakfast is delicious and included in the rate. Very reasonable price, great value. The room is nice and the shower is perfection! The toiletries are also top notch. I can not highlight enough the extraordinary customer service we received from the moment we arrived, everyone with a smile, very helpful and welcoming. They are pet friendly and provide a bed and food water bowls for my dog.

What a great gem of a hotel! The included breakfast was amazing. You order the night before and can have it brought to your room or eat in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room felt new and clean, with modern touches. The location cannot be beat.
Ryan N — Google review
I would listen to the negative reviews on this one. Our room did not have a shower door, the beach view for the junior Suite is hardly a beach view, the breakfast is sparse and they charged us an extra 200 euro without my permission because we left a few extra shopping bags in the room after we left. This is not an ethical place and it's certainly not a 4 star hotel and it's not worth the money in my opinion.

(Translated by Google) We had booked a room at the Windsor, when we arrived we were offered an upgrade to this hotel right next door, happy at the time. Then we arrive at this hotel, with a very sober style and perhaps a little too much for a 4 star... rooms without decorations, empty, small, concrete corridors, a double bed (with 2 mattresses), a very cold atmosphere for a warm welcome... at 9 a.m. we are awakened by the vacuum cleaner in the room above, then 9:30 a.m. by the work of the hotel... contrary to what is indicated, there is no parking either, it This is public parking (paid). Finally, a big bonus on the breakfast which was complete and included in the price, and on the service and welcome, as well as the cleanliness. In summary, the team is superb, but the hotel needs improvement.

(Translated by Google) Very large room but without any decoration so very cold, no view and a lot of noise. On the other hand, the reception staff are perfect. Strange that this hotel is classified as 4 stars. (Original) Chambre très grande mais sans aucune décoration donc très froide, aucune vue et beaucoup de bruits. Par contre les personnes de l'accueil sont parfaites. Bizarre que cet hôtel soit classé 4 étoiles.

(Translated by Google) Very unpleasant feeling of having been taken for an idiot. The upgrade to the suite offered by the Windsor is in fact a downgrade... this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms have the same decoration as at Ibis. The beds are uncomfortable. To avoid if you are looking for a 4 star!

Nice place but you only remember the penny pinching One of the better places we have stayed in France, they are keen to point out that it's 5-Star but felt like a push. place is nicely decorated, not everyones taste but fun and fine for a hotel. Location ok, not close to town but 10m drive, reception helped with parking etc. it's about 30m to walk (but though housing estate) Rooms comfortable, bedding etc. all fine, we We were amazed by how tight the hotel were for an expensive place... on day 2 we were told that the bottle of water in the room wouldn't be replaced, and that we only got one nespresso pod per day... so we went to the shops and left some in the hotel for anybody who fancies a second cup :-). This was a bit of a theme, the shower gel etc. never got replaced, if we wanted a cup of tea we had to pay €9... so we just ended up spending our time away from the hotel. We booked on a non-cancellation, which is fine, but when we asked if we could move the booking a day earlier they charged us another €100... we'd understand but the hotel was no more than 30% full at best.... but you get the theme here. The staff working in the hotel were great, realy nice - they really tried to help out, and they seemed to understand that we were frustrated by the hotel 'policies' bit of a shame, we ended up just using the room and nothing else, which seems a waste..... the hotels not far of being really good, but when you are charging €400+ per night, a bowl of apples on reception or a few bits in a minibar seem a reasonable ask.
