Hotel
Located in the historic center of Ypres, Novotel Ieper Centrum Flanders Fields offers a modern and comfortable stay for travelers. The hotel features air-conditioned rooms, a fitness center, a restaurant with a terrace, and a bar. It is family-friendly with free stays for kids under 16 and has a children's playground. The hotel is conveniently situated for exploring other nearby cities like Ghent and Lille and offers ample parking.
Room was lovely, really spacious. All staff were very friendly and helpful, and all spoke excellent English. Breakfast was fantastic, huge selection and very good quality. Perfect location for Ieper, with free parking only a 5-10 minute walk away.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights as part of a tour. The staff were efficient welcoming and good at their jobs. The facilities were excellent. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious with the lobby area large giving one plenty of space to relax. The breakfast each morning gave lots of choice, was well cooked and there was plenty of it. The hotel was just off the main square an ideal location. I would highly recommend this
Tomas N — Google review
Brilliantly located for Menin Gate, Ypres restaurants and museums, and within a short drive to many WW1 memorials. Room was comfortable, modern and well appointed. Breakfast had a great variety of things on offer and staff were really helpful.
Fiona B — Google review
Just off the central square. Very clean and bright. Modern Car parking under hotel. Kids area. Good breakfast buffet Bar serves draft lager
Russell H — Google review
Great central location for Ypres. Nearby parking (free in the square on a Sunday). Large hotel but efficient, great price and really good breakfast. Bar prices are good too. Would definitely stay again.
Alex H — Google review
This accommodation is outstanding in every way. Staff, room, service. I wish I could have stayed longer than I booked but I had an itinerary to stay with. I hope to come back one day.
Gary D — Google review
Well situated hotel, 2mins from the main sq. The room was spotlessly clean, and the beds were comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. They told me of the best parking (1 min walk) for our stay and managed to save me @£40 in parking fees. The only negative side was that the Internet/wi-fi connection was weak and intermittent. When mentioned to the reception staff, he apologised, but said it was due to our room(No 429) being at the rear of the building and the router being positioned at the front. Not a massive problem but a little annoying
Tim P — Google review
Relaxing hotel in a lovely location. Breakfast pastry was a bit stale but not enough to spoil stay Random bathroom arrangement but that was fine for solo travel

Nestled in the heart of Ypres, Hotel Gasthof 't Zweerd is a charming family-run establishment that offers a cozy retreat for travelers. With its snug and streamlined rooms, this hotel provides a relaxed atmosphere complemented by an inviting restaurant. Guests can enjoy delightful city views while indulging in delicious meals. The location is unbeatable, just a short stroll from the iconic Menin Gate and right on the bustling Grote Markt.
Great location right in the centre of Ypres. The room was a reasonable size and offered good value. Staff were friendly and the included breakfast was good
Ian T — Google review
Just returned from running a school trip with 50 of us and this hotel is brilliant.. Centrally located in Ypres, with a range of en suite rooms for different group sizes. Huge dining room and very good quality food. The stand out thing about the hotel is the wonderful staff. Dimitri and his team went above and beyond to ensure we were all having a good time. He even transported us to and from the hospital when one of us was taken ill. Okay so it's not a 5* establishment but it doesn't claim to be. The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean, the location is central and the food is good. Everything we could have hoped for. Thanks to Dimitri and his team. The only thing lacking is air conditioning but this is clearly advertised.
Martin O — Google review
We had a four bedded room with en suite whilst on a motorcycle club weekend away. The room was okay as we didn't intend to spend much time in it. Parking was a bit haphazard but achievable. Good location right on the market square. Restaurant was good too.
Paul ( — Google review
Alright so basically I’m on a school trip and there are flies in my food I’m actually concerned about peoples health and I’m pretty sure the chicken is disgusting, the chips are alright but taste very boring, waiters move like a bulldoser not stopping for anything in their path, knock over a few of my drinks no big deal and do not order the “orange limonade” as it tastes like actual urine. I actually think this place should get taken down. Not to mention the cube rooms that look like gas chambers it genuinely feels like the squid games.
Oliver P — Google review
You get what you pay for. There was a group of us staying 2 nights. It's old style but was clean. Breakfasts was basic but plentiful. The young lady (sorry forgot name) was help and polite. There's a bar attached to the premises and owner was good host. We'd stay again soon.
Mojow1958 — Google review
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. The rooms have insecure ceiling which are about to fall apart, the toilet doors do not lock or close properly and the bed is beside it making it IMPOSSIBLE to go into There are no shampoo, body gel, conditioner, OR EVEN HAND SOAP. Reviews say that the beds are clean but it is not. There were dead bugs and pieces of wood on the bed. The room doors do not lock easily and it got clogged (we could not open it for 10 minutes). The furniture was modern but interior was poor. NO AIR CONDITIONERS! We were boiling in the summer. DO NOT COME HERE THIS HOTEL DOES NOT DESERVE EVEN A 1 STAR
이다은 — Google review
my friend found a spider in his drink and all the glasses of water that were served were broken furthermore, the doors to the bathrooms are pretty much see through as you can see everything through a crack. All of the rooms are also incredibly cramped.

3Flanders Lodge Hotel

Hotel
The Flanders Lodge Hotel offers a comfortable stay with streamlined rooms and complimentary breakfast and parking. The hotel's modern restaurant provides a convenient dining option for guests. The chalet-style retreat features a unique log cabin decor, creating a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of an Alpine ski lodge. Situated just outside Ypres, the hotel is conveniently located near the Menin Gate, Somme battlefields, and Ypres Salient.
Good location if you want to see the Menin Gate and tour the Flanders/Ypres battlefields. Rooms were good. I had to locate staff a couple of times for questions, but they were always friendly and resolved our issues.
Doug F — Google review
An honest review. This review is written by a student, in a room of 6 while on a school trip, so I know very little of what the rooms for other guests were like. While this is a well situated lodge, especially for school trips to the battlefields, I would recommend the battlefields, but I would not recommend this lodge. You can enjoy your time, however it will be very questionable.
Mars S — Google review
I came here on a school trip (As a 16 year old in 6th form) for the battlefields, at first sight the hotel looks wonderful and unsuspecting... but when you're staying there you begin to notice it all. I was in a room of 2, situated in the 'staff/teacher' area where there seemed to be more rowdy students than teachers, my teachers knowing I have issues with noise sensitivity deciding that to be the better option ended up realising it made no difference whatsoever. The room that I stayed in was like a basic hotel room but there were only 2 plug sockets in the whole room! One being used for the mini fridge, me and my friend had to rotate our phone charging time. There's no locks on the bathroom door, so you needed to always double check before entering. The hair dryer was dodgy, and some mould was beginning to fester on the ceiling. I have very sensitive senses so this next part might be subjective but the walls were very thin and you could hear everything from the other side of the corridor. Im sure the beds also had bedbugs as my legs got very itchy after sleeping in the bed. Plus with how the schools are crammed into one dining hall it can easily become loud, stuffy, and chaotic causing me to become very overwhelmed so beware. The food they served would be capable of causing a starving victorian child to pass on, although the bread rolls they served at breakfast were good. I didn't have mutch interaction with the staff, but I did notice some would just barge past you in the corridors without saying a word. The area the hotel is situated in is wonderful, being a perfect distance from the centre of town yet not too far away, but overall I wouldn't experience this again. Do the trip as it is worth it but beware of staying in this hotel.
Em A — Google review
An excellent stop to go see ypres town which is simply amazing we stopped for one night, the rooms are well kept and in good condition there was a slight bit of dirt but nothing dramatic in our opinion. The hotel includes a breakfast with continental style buffet but also hot items you would find on a conventional english, the scrambled eggs were excellent and also has their own restraunt and bar which i did not sample. We picked this hotel mainly due to proximity to the town centre and parking, the walk intp town however could be considered by spme to be too long however the hotel has many taxi driver numbers to help those of you who are not inclined to walk. An good place with good people would stay again!
LifewithMac — Google review
Our visit to this hotel was highly anticipated, I was in a girl's group of 6 friends. Though, when we entered the room, our hopes were snuffed out like a candle. There was one pillow per bed, and it was a small, square, which I would rather call a cushion than a pillow. Fortunately, our room's air conditioning was working, but for my friends in another room, they did not have the pleasure. And the most shocking part of this was the lack of drinking water. Our teacher promised us that we would have water from this hotel, but no. The tap water was not only salty, but not even clear. We got desperate and tried shower water - there was still no hope. We were rationing our water, and we couldn't even go out to get water because of the 10:00pm curfew where we can't leave our rooms. We were at half a bottle and a can of energy drink, where we heard voices from outside the window. Now, you may think we were hearing things from dehydration, but no, our saviours had come. (Also, a note, the windows were like really close to the floor? Someone could get in or get out through that. We were on the first floor.) And so, the girls on the floor above us threw us down a full, sealed plastic bottle of water. Thank you for that, it really saved us. Because the drinking water our teachers told us to just deal with made me gag. OH MAY I ADD, THERE WAS ONE BATHROOM FOR THE SIX OF US. AND NO PROVIDED TOWELS, EVEN THOUGH THE TEACHERS TOLD US NOT TO BRING ANY. I would definitely not recommend. If one of my friends are taking a trip to this place I'd tell 'em to skip it and go sleep in the woods. (But seriously, there was no water. If you go here bring extra water. Or y'know, don't, and dehydrate, your choice.)
Moss — Google review
This is a genuine review from a fourteen-year-old student on the France trip. Most of the other reviews were a little exaggerated when it wasn't that bad. The food was actually really good the only meal i didn't like was the chicken and chips we got told it was fish and it did actually taste like sausage and i still ate everything. There were cooked blood vessels in the chicken on our first night but i had it in mine and it tasted completely fine. The portions are actually pretty small like for breakfast it was a mini croissant, mini pana chocolate and mini bread roll which i dont think was enough especially when we had to share with other schools. The service was great especially for people who work with kids so much as long as your polite and grateful you will get along well with them also you dont see them around often other than when they check your room and serve you food. The rooms are simple DO NOT EXPECT HOTEL QUALITY because this isn't a hotel it’s a hostel. The rooms are clean but are not consistent either you get a really bad room (my friends bed was literally broken and they tried to charge them for it) or a really good room (another friend had a mini fridge and a really big room) the beddings do have patches but it doesn't bother you the beds are really comfy and the duvets are thick but the pillows are a little flat and the ladders aren’t fixed to the bed it is true that the bathroom didn’t have locks and i really want them to put locks on for basic privacy. There are games such as snooker and table tennis but you need to pay for this and they dont give you paddles for the table tennis only the ball also if your on a school trip you wont have time to anyway.
Liliana J — Google review
Can’t really recommend anyone to stay here other than for the close proximity to Ypres. We stayed in a room at the end of a corridor, thinking it would be quiet. For about 5:30 am all we could hear were doors slamming and furniture being moved and dragged, unsure if we were placed near the restaurant but it was obnoxiously loud, the door out of our section is a fire door that slams when anyone leaves. The staff behind the bar were extremely rude upon checking in, then made jokes about it later on, the one saving grace is that we only stayed here for one night.
Millie — Google review
Good rooms, air conditioned, Fridge, power shower. There's a lounge and bar also restaurant on site. Location is a little industrial, rather than a town centre. Good for business's nearby.

Situated on the north side of the Menin Road, it holds historical significance as it served as headquarters for the British Army during World War I. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation with air-conditioning and free WiFi.
Lovely little hotel and so handy for the Ypres experience. Friendly staff and a lovely room in the new annexe. Nice breakfast and reasonable rates. Free parking
Andy S — Google review
Lovely hotel with history from WW1. Perfect position to visit Ypres and lots of WW1 battlefield sites and museums. Clean. Whilst we stayed housekeeping each day. The only things which for us brought our rating down was lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room, no provision for free Tea /Coffee outside of breakfast hours had to pay, (We have not experienced this before) and it wasn't clear until your checked further into the hotel details that the restaurant had limited opening, not at weekends when we were staying. Both things could be made clearer on booking.com listing of this hotel. Would recommend this hotel highly
Lorraine Y — Google review
Perfect place to stay for ww1 visits and close to Ypres centre. Staff were friendly and service was good and breakfast was filling. It had a garage for the motorcycles. Rooms were clean and bathroom had shower and bath in my room.
Dave B — Google review
Great hotel at a truly beautiful standpoint in landscape as well as in history. It has a free WW1 memorial backyard with all kind of relics, which is free to visit for hotel guests. Large rooms with all the things you could need Amazing location near Ieper. The only downside is that the kitchen is understaffed, and that the food prizes where a bit high. Breakfast was amazing though.
Max C — Google review
We came specifically to visit the trenches and it was quite beautiful. Well kept, well preserved WW1 trenches next to a beautiful hotel building and it only costs €1 to visit for people not staying at the hotel. The hotel staff was also super nice and helpful. Absolutely recommend a visit!
Melle D — Google review
We only stayed for one night, it was very nice but service very slow
Rick G — Google review
Great find. Its a nice quirky hotel full of character. We chose this hotel for its location as we wanted to visit the Menin Gate. Would certainly stay there again.
Jan J — Google review
Great location for visiting war history memorials and centres, Ypres, rural routes and the Aqua Park. The hotel is set within original WWI landscape and the large pond was part of a huge crater. Grounds well maintained, period-style property with modern block across the car park. Would stay again.

Freshly renovated house with all needed amenities (and even more than you could need) near the city center. The advantage of hearing the birds while being minutes away from the most touristic places. An ideal combo of a real Home feeling with the hospitality of a very attentive host. Pascal is extremely service oriented and delivers a quality stay you could expect from most star hotels. Birdsonghouse is a charming pet-friendly accommodation that comes highly recommended. It's worth checking out Apartment Number Ten and Ciepers Lodge as well for a delightful stay.
An incredible house with easy access to everything… host was very welcoming. Would definitely book it again

(Translated by Google) Everything was truly perfect. - The house was clean, for a 240m² house, with no dust. Everything was designed to make you feel comfortable. The house is located on a street behind the town center but faces nature and walking trails. Everything is nearby. See you soon.
