Keswick Bridge offers cozy Alpine-style bungalows located on the riverside, just a bridge away from downtown Keswick. The resort provides five-star accommodation in a timeshare setting, with the option to rent for a week or weekend. The lodges are well-equipped with comfortable beds and fully stocked kitchens. Additionally, the location is ideal for exploring Keswick town, visiting the museum, and enjoying outdoor activities in the Lakes District.
I did not visit the hotel as I was in Keswick for a day with my walking club (the Tyneside Ramblers). It was a memorial walk for a former leader who has tragically passed away. He was a gentle gentleman, a lovely person, and a very good leader. A good man. Who was definitely looking out for us. The weather forecast was not the best. Plus, in Newcastle, the morning was damp and a bit foggy. Although the further west we went, the weather got brighter and brighter. It ended up being a wonderful, special, hot, sunny🌞 ☀️ day. The Herdwick sheep 🐑 were brought in by the Vikings about 1000 years ago. Some of the views were just unreal. An amazing and special day.

Five star accommodation in a timeshare resort. You can also rent accommodation for a week or weekend. I own one week in December, a two bed lodge which sleeps six and a crib. I come back every year. Resort staff knowledgable and very approachable. Elsa and Kath have been there for many years. Kitchen well supplied. Bedrooms - beds so comfy and great duvets. Double bed en-suite. Twin beds - bathroom next door. Great lounge / kitchen. Well positioned for Keswick town, Keswick Museum and walking. Threlkeld railway trek just above the lodges. Unfortunately, not dog friendly. There’s no logical reason as extra cleaning can be added to the cost of the stay. Maybe it can discussed at our resort AGM?!
Chantelle T — Google review
Quiet private location. Grounds kept really well. Lodges very comfy & relaxing - plenty of parking. Staff are very welcoming, helpful & extremely pleasant. Quick access to A66. Easy access to many walking routes without taking the car and approx 10 min walk to centre of Keswick. Theatre by the lake was superb as was the Hauntings walk - great fun! Good choice of pubs and restaurants. Back in November for the waterfalls and autumn colours.
Catriona W — Google review
Beautiful lodges, idyllic setting. Have loved visiting at least once a year since I was born and I'm now 30!! Definitely a home from home. Well-kitted out, very friendly staff. The field is great for playing on. 10/15 min walk to town, 5 mins to the park.
Rebecca A — Google review
Been coming here for years! Wonderful place. Not much in way of onsite facilities, but do you really need them in this beautiful location? Very comfortable lodges and excellent access even if your knees are a bit dodgy like mine. Lodges at top end of site do have a few steps to climb but there is an alternative route to avoid these albeit slightly longer.
David T — Google review
A cozy set of Alpine style bungalows on the side of a river, just across the bridge from downtown Keswick. Very nicely appointed, with a spacious living area on the second floor. Minutes walk from stores and pubs in the center of Keswick, and centrally situated in the Lakes District itself; an easy drive to historical sites, such as Roman forts, Hadrian's wall, Carlisle and Brougham castles. Great activities in Keswick, such as the Theatre on the Lake, Fitz and Hope Parks.
Thomas S — Google review
I have been coming to a one bed lodge overlooking the river at Keswick Bridge for a week in February every year since 2012. The facilities have always been updated every time I stay, the lodge is always absolutely spotless, the kitchen fully equipped and the staff evermore friendly and helpful. Despite the pandemic restrictions If you love the great outdoors and cosy self catered meals this is just the place for you - from gentle lakeside strolls to full-on winter ascents of Skiddaw and Blencathra, Keswick has it all.
Bob C — Google review
Have a week timeshare at Keswick Bridge. Lodges are clean and up to date, with good Wi-Fi and immaculate grounds with parking at each lodge. Always a bonus in the lakes. Minutes away from the town centre, very friendly staff and well placed for walks of all levels.

Latrigg is a picturesque grassy hill in the Lake District, offering various trails to its summit and stunning valley views. As one of the lowest fells in the area, it provides an accessible yet rewarding hike. The well-defined tracks make for a steady but manageable ascent, leading to sprawling views that are especially breathtaking during sunrise or sunset. Starting at Moot Hall in Keswick, the Latrigg dog walk offers year-round beauty and easy access.
We parked our car on top and walked few minutes to latrigg. Initially it was hard to find that carpark but we managed to fond it in the end. But that view! Phew!! Its a different yet stunning view from every angle! A must visit
Erandika M — Google review
Fabulous walk, nice and steady and not too exhausting. The views from the top are insane, we started from a car park in Keswick but there is a car park situated at the start of the trail
Chloe D — Google review
Great vue easy a bit steep in parts dut very doable and the next day you can go up Catbells that you can see on the other side of the lake.
Michael H — Google review
Worth this hike. View was amazing from the top. Easy to climb
Jerel A — Google review
Standing at 368m, Latrigg summit is not one the highest but my word, it has one of the best views in Cumbria. Starting at the free car park it's an easy walk of about 20 minutes to get to the summit. The surface is very well groomed and so it's accessible for almost anyone. Near the top there's a seat which has a view over Keswick. A great photo opportunity. Onwards and upwards... Not far to the top and worth it for the views. Pitch the tent and look towards Derwent and Keswick. Outstanding. The sunset was stunning. The blackness of that particular night I even witnessed a meteor shower. True magic. One of the easiest in the lakes... Get out and do it!

Great walk. We parked at the car park as we only had an hour spare for a quick walk. It was ideal for an elderly dog and a puppy.

Lovely hike. Beautiful views from the summit of this 367m high fell. I don't know how it is on other days but when I was there it was very windy. Otherwise lovely hike, for every age suitable. Definitely recommended.

Derwent Water Lake, also known as the 'Queen of the Lakes,' is a stunning destination cradled by surrounding fells. Visitors can enjoy lakeside strolls, historic sculptures, and explore woodlands and fells starting from Keswick. The area is dog-friendly with food, drink, and toilet facilities available. The breathtaking scenery includes still mountains reflecting in the water, dynamic cloud formations, and iconic photo opportunities such as jetties and giant hand sculptures.
What an incredibly bearish place to visit, I canoed around Derwent water and over to st Herbert’s island.. The island was amazing but there was definitely signs of people being there before we arrived to the point they some idiots had left a fire still smouldering.. needless to say we put it out. The island is full of yes and holly trees which are toxic even when burning so I’m not sure why you would want to use them as fuel for a campfire anyway 😳🤷🏻‍♂️.. The views from the water when paddling round are breathtaking…. This won’t be the last time I visit that for certain.. However if you go… always use the “leave no trace” rules.. because places are better when you visit and there is no trace of anyone else being there… it adds to the wild feeling
James F — Google review
Great circular walk of the lake, 4.5 hours approximately without doing the summits. The trails aren't difficult at all and are easy to follow and suitable for all ages. Fantastic vista's all the way around
Peter S — Google review
We took a boat ride on Derwentwater while visiting Keswick – and it was absolutely stunning! The views of the surrounding fells and the lake’s small wooded islands were like something out of a postcard. The whole experience was peaceful, scenic, and a great way to enjoy the Lake District without breaking a sweat. Perfect for couples, families, or anyone needing a bit of fresh air and nature therapy. Highly recommended if you're in Keswick – it's a must-do!
Babs B — Google review
A long 10 mile walk from start to finish but well worth it. Stunning scenery. Beautiful bridges and boardwalks. Plenty of little coves and places to rest. Some of the walk is through woods and on the road but would defo recommend
Tracey K — Google review
Took a walk down from visiting the thursday market in keswick so the dog could have a paddle in the lake and ended up being around for a couple of hours. Lovely spot and if you are lucky you might see a jet or two doing a fly by. Food and drink available and toilets and with most of the lakelands is very dog friendly.
O. K — Google review
We always come here on our trips to the Lake District. Plenty of parking available and lots of different routes you can walk either by lake, on the hills or through woods. Lots of areas you can let the dogs off lead too
Kirstie A — Google review
Beautiful walk around the Lake. Takes around 4 hours to complete. Mostly flat with some slight incline. Ideally close to the lake. Perfect for a rest and a swim or dip or just to take in the most beautiful views.
Kelly — Google review
Derwent water is so close to the town centre and just a short 10 min stroll from the main square and through a lovely park area. Lots to see and do on route and great for dog walkers. You can walk around the edge of the lake on a walking trail, and on good days, boat trips are offered. No prices as did not investigate as none operational. Guess that is weather permitting as we went on a bank holiday and no boats operational that day as the weather was a bit unreliable and lake surface a bit choppy. It definitely had a real Swallows & Amazon's feel to the Lake as it has the stunning island within a sailing distance. I definitely felt this vibe while we were sitting looking at the lake view, and memories from reading the book in my childhood came flooding back. A lovely few hours spent here. We are not hikers, so we can not comment on the access to the walking routes, but for a nice mooching wander to edge of lake and potentially a picnic, it's perfect. In addition to Derwent Water, Keswick was not disappointing. What a truly fantastic town within the Lakes. A must visit place. Lots of old buildings and great pubs that serve food and drink to the tourists. A great fish & chip shop in the centre of town which sells cones of chips which were very popular. I've not seen cones of chips for 20 years or more! There are a lot of great gift shops plus regular retailers. The town was kept so clean and well maintained. Easy parking is close to town and not expensive. Found it a bit confusing getting into the correct parking area as sat-nav kept directing us down a pedestrian area?? Derwent water is so close to the town centre, making the town so lovely to spend a few lovely hours of relaxation. Keswick certainly gets my vote!

Beautiful wine, lovely peaceful atmosphere right in the heart of Keswick. A real undiscovered gem that we've enjoyed several times recently. If you're after more than a pint in a pub, this is the place 👍

We stopped in here on whim while vacationing in Keswick- it’s a quiet lovely place for a drink. And you can tell the owners truly know their wines & craft, and have a lot of knowledge about each wine on the menu. Would definitely recommend to others!
Stephanie W — Google review
If at all possible, this place is even better than the last time. 6*s at least. Great laid back music, lovely loo ( see photo ), comfy chesterfield, eclectic wine range ( some one really knows their business here ), superb freshly made bruschetta nibbles at a great price, and 10 wines to try by the glass. I had the Appassimento. Mind blowing!! Some sensational wins in the £10-15 range ( adore the Scotto family Zinfandel ) and OMG they've got a few bottles of Coyam in. Expensive but worth every sip....my wine of the decade ( so far ). You absolutely MIST patronise this place. You won't be disappointed...

We found this wonderful wine bar by chance, and wished we’d found it earlier. Incredibly welcoming and helpful staff, and a wonderfully chilled atmosphere. Next time we’ll try a cheeseboard to go with our bottle of Cremant!

Castlerigg Stone Circle, an English Heritage site, is believed to be around 5000 years old and offers stunning panoramic views. This Neolithic stone circle, possibly one of the oldest in Britain, consists of 38 large stones with a dramatic mountainous backdrop. While its purpose remains a mystery, some speculate that the stone placement may have had astrological significance.
Upon stepping through the fence, an immediate sense of peace and spaciousness washed over me. Something in the air felt different — as if it carried a quiet pull, connecting me not just to the mountains and fields, but to the animals, the wind, and perhaps even something greater, something beyond. The kids ran free for nearly an hour — climbing, tagging, laughing — while I utterly absorbed in the vast embrace of the surrounding peaks. As the sun dipped low, its golden light spilled over the landscape, turning every stone and blade of grass into something sacred. If you’re seeking a spiritual experience, this is the place to be. On a weekday around 6 p.m., parking was easy, the crowd sparse, and for a brief, perfect moment, we had the entire space to ourselves. In that stillness, the world felt both endless and intimate.
Serena L — Google review
It's free which is always a plus and it was lovely to visit. The view is lovely but we went on a day where the weather turned so it was largely grey and rainy, but still very atmospheric. It's not far at all to the local town as well as the nearby lake. There were quote a few people visiting at the same time but just waiting about 10 minutes and they dispersed so we got some pictures without groups of people in them.
Zenab H — Google review
Castlerigg Stone Circle – A Mystical Gem of the Lake District! Castlerigg Stone Circle is one of the most atmospheric and awe-inspiring places in the Lake District — a site that beautifully blends ancient history, mystery, and natural beauty. Perched on a hilltop surrounded by breathtaking views of the mountains, this prehistoric stone circle is believed to date back more than 4,000 years, making it one of the oldest in Britain. Standing among the stones, you can truly feel the sense of timelessness and connection to the past that makes this place so special. The panoramic views from Castlerigg are absolutely stunning — the circle is set against a backdrop of Helvellyn, Blencathra, and other Lakeland fells, creating a magical atmosphere, especially during sunrise or sunset. It’s a peaceful, open site with no entry fee, easy to reach by car, and only a short walk from the parking area, making it accessible for visitors of all ages. What makes Castlerigg so memorable is its simplicity — just nature, history, and pure serenity. The site isn’t commercialized, allowing visitors to experience the raw beauty and mystery of the stones without distractions. It’s an excellent spot for photography, quiet reflection, or just taking in the stunning 360° landscape. Whether you’re interested in archaeology, spirituality, or simply want to enjoy one of the most scenic viewpoints in the Lake District, Castlerigg Stone Circle is an absolute must-visit. A place that stays with you long after you leave — calm, mysterious, and endlessly beautiful. 🌄🪨✨

Castlerigg Stone Circle in Lake District is a significant monument in Lake District which is approximately from 3000 BC. It consists of 38 stones, probably kept for religious ceremonies, astronomical observations, or a social gathering place. Its situated on a hill near Keswick that was formally preserved as an ancient monuments in 1883. It's surrounded by mountains on three sides that offers breathtaking view. Visited it as part of day trip. Highly recommend a visit to this monument

This 4,500 year old World Heritage Site is a really atmospheric and intriguing site to experience ... it may be small in scale but its landscape setting is just so beautiful... even in a damp June visit it was so good! Its poorly signposted btw and we used Google maps to get there.
Gary W — Google review
Magical place with 360° views of the surrounding beauty...the stones standing proud and unfathomable....but the guide from English Heritage gave us some idea of the current theories!! Older than Stonehenge so more stories to tell but accessible and free plus lovely sheep share the field with you and the stones. There is free parking on the access road and a cafe just down the road with all the facilities you could need😋☕!! Truly a detour well worth making and really a shame to miss it if in the area🐑✨☺️xx
Carol R — Google review
Interesting place, older than Stonehenge. No charges and free parking on the road(if you can find a space). Worth the visit if for no other reason but to admire the fantastic views of the mountains all around.

The menu features superb burgers, garlic mushrooms on ciabatta, homemade chicken and mushroom pie, and indulgent cakes.
We stopped by Lakeside Café after a boat trip on Derwentwater, and it was the perfect place to warm up and recharge. The hot chocolates were absolutely delicious – rich, creamy, and topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream and cocoa. The café has a lovely, airy atmosphere with big windows overlooking the greenery – ideal for relaxing after a day out on the water. Friendly staff and a great selection of drinks and cakes. We ordered from the breakfast menu and it was tasty. The croissants were good. I did not like my coffee but everyone else thought theirs were fine. The indoor decor is nothing special but when you sit outside you can see the lake and the boats. We came on a weekday morning (not school holidays) and there were plenty of available tables at this time. Toilets were decent.

Beautiful location a nice cafe to have a coffee and snack before a lovely boat trip on the lake

A good place if u are in lake Keswick … good snacks and meal options …. Only issue was service and attitude at the til … it wasn’t professional all

Sat outside on a busy day for 2 coffees and a scone! Both were lovely, wait for coffees was a little bit but we didn’t mind.
Eleanor K — Google review
I had to give this a 1- Star, the service was friendly and the place is well situated, however... We bought 3 hot chocolates, 2 with cream and marshmallows and it cost us over £17!!.. okay but they were the most underwhelming I've ever tasted... it was just brown water with no flavour.... this needs to be reviewed as im sure they're popular for the location and time and the price was EXTORTIONATE for the lack of flavour.

Keswick Museum, located on Station Road north of the River Greta, is a charming and quirky museum featuring an eclectic collection of artifacts. With approximately 20,000 objects spanning various categories such as archaeology, fine art, natural history, and literature, visitors can marvel at oddities like Napoleon's teacup and a 700-year-old naturally mummified cat.
Small but interesting museum and art gallery with a few activities for kids to do, great also as paying once let's you visit again for a year. Nice dog friendly cafe with lovely staff which leads outside also toilets and a lift between the two floors

Great for older kids, but my 4 year old had fun, too. Good place to learn about the nature for adults as well.

Very informative (both the displays and the friendly staff.) It's not often you get to play a STONE "Piano that was played for Queen Victoria! Lovely cafe on site with DELICIOUS Bacon Rolls Definatly worth a visit rain or shine.
Paul M — Google review
Nice exhibits but it’s a pretty limited space. Only two galleries means the history of Keswick and the region is condensed massively. Free entry with my Museums Association card, so no harm done. But I probably wouldn’t pay for entry. Nice staff though!

A brilliant little museum packed with character and surprises! Keswick Museum offers a fascinating look into local history, with everything from Victorian curiosities to hands-on exhibits. The musical stones were a real highlight – who knew rocks could make music? 🎶🪨 The whole place is thoughtfully curated, with a friendly atmosphere and plenty to explore despite its modest size. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and love places that are a bit quirky, educational, and full of charm. #LocalHistory #KeswickMuseum #LakeDistrict #QuirkyMuseums #MustVisit

Nice little gem, went in because we just finished the junior park run. Deffo worth doing, tickets valid for 12 months
Jozef V — Google review
Perfect for kids and adults. Brilliant insight into local history. There’s a lot of love evident in this community museum. I was surprised at how entertaining it turned out to be. The blurbs don’t do it justice. A child is free with a paying adult. They get a pocket history about local geology and fondle a selection of rocks before having a 3D visual of the surrounding area. The rock xylophone must be experienced in person. Kudos if you can belt out a tune. Plus there are type writers, ink and feather quills, 3 bears story telling, arts and crafts, etc. Don’t wait for a rainy day to experience it.

Nice lady at the front desk, but cost of entry is £7.50 which is way too much for what is there. Very tiny museum, but I didn't stay more than 20 minutes.

Hiking area
Friars Crag is a picturesque promontory that extends into Derwentwater, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This area holds historical significance as it was the first part of the Lake District to be owned by the National Trust. A leisurely stroll along the lakeside will lead you past memorials to notable figures and provide an ideal setting for stargazing on clear summer nights.
Beautiful viewing spot. Easy walk that takes you past the theatre & jetty area. We went early evening & it was fairly busy, particularly as there were a couple of school groups (that were very pleasant & well behaved :) ). Still plenty of space to take in the views though & it's definitely worth the extra 10 minute walk from the jetty area to go see it
Caroline G — Google review
Walked down to Friars Crag from Keswick town centre a very easy walk which took all of about ten minutes could have been longer if we had done a bit of window shopping 🛍 😀. Lovely area and packed plenty boating 🚢 activities and crazy 🤪 golf ⛳️ in the park.
Alex W — Google review
Beautiful scenic area, very easy to get to, with some nice pubs/restaurants in the area. Great little spot to take photos, as the clouds were moving in you could see them coming across the fells which looked fantastic. Little one loved it also as lots of ducks, swans, geese & seagulls that like to be fed so that was also fun. Would recommend checking it out & id definitely go again.
Donna J — Google review
An absolute beautiful scenic point however brace yourself for a really struggling hike uphill. From the parking spot it took us about 45 min climbing upwards to reach the peak
Samiur R — Google review
Friar’s Crag is one of those places we absolutely love, and we’ve honestly lost count of how many times we’ve visited. It’s such a peaceful spot where time seems to stand still. The views over Derwentwater and towards Catbells are absolutely amazing, no matter what the weather’s doing. It’s only a short, easy walk from the car park, but it feels a world away from everything. A perfect place to pause, breathe, and just enjoy the beauty of the Lake District.

Cotswold Outdoor is a well-known UK shop for outdoor gear. Many customers like it for the wide range of products, good quality kit, and helpful staff, especially when buying walking boots or clothing. Most people have a smooth shopping experience both in store and online. However, some reviews mention issues with deliveries, slow refunds, or problems when returning faulty items. The overall rating is around four stars, showing that most shoppers are happy. It’s a good place if you want to see and try items before buying, though online orders may sometimes take longer than expected.

2 separate occasions I have had faulty jackets to which I was met with a very patronising and condescending manager. First time I was told north face wouldn’t accept my return as the jacket wasn’t clean enough- they did and they gave me a full refund, second time the same manager told me that the new jacket I had bought was not waterproof, I explained to her I knew the difference between waterproof and showerproof however, the jacket I bought was as little use as wearing a jacket made from toilet roll. I won’t be going back purely because of her manner.

Came in onthe 27th April with a pair of Merrells in a size 6 i brought a few days on line before for my holiday in the Lakes . I thought they where slightly too tight but unsure . Having came in store to see if i could try a size 7 i was served by a lovely friendly chap called Oliver . He was super helpful and quickly located a size 7 in the exact pair i already had . Measured my foot and told me that the 6 where in deed too small. He really knew his stuff also when it came to feet !. Polite and generally rushed of his feet he could not do enough to help . I kept them on my feet having walked into town from Low briery in trainers . He cut tags off and exchanged without any hassle . Great member of staff .Thanks Oliver!!

Wanted a new pair of walking shoes so went to Cotswold. The assistant first of all measured my feet, length and width . As I've lady feet( bunions etc) I needed a wide fit, we came up with 3 that were comfortable. I wasn't pressured into choosing but after over a hour I decided on one. No pressure sale tactics,No impatient tuts just very good service.

We went in on Monday 6th Feb around 4pm. A lady helped me immensely with fjallraven walking trousers. She was wearing them herself and gave me a very honest and personal review of the type and fit they had in stock. She explained the difference between the curved and regular fit and why they only stocked the curved now. She went through the care instructions and I think she could tell the reservations I had, because she also went through the returns policy. I genuinely felt she went above and beyond with helping me get the right trousers. I am very happy with them and definitely will be shopping here again.

The Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail is a stunning riverside path that has been restored after being destroyed by Storm Desmond. This 5-year project led by the Lake District National Park has resulted in a picturesque and accessible trail, suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The flat, smooth surface offers scenic views of the River Greta gorge.
Fantastic walk from Keswick to Threlkeld along the old railway route pity there are no toilets on the way. Threlkeld nice little place. Great coffee shop in Threlkeld to get some refreshment. If you don't want to walk back there are buses £2 into Keswick, the stop is very close to the coffee shop.
MrLespaul2000 — Google review
Nice easy walk into Threlkeld. It starts off a bit dull at the Keswick end, but once out in the open, it's much nicer. River Greata is beautiful, and the surrounding hills are magnificent on a sunny day. Bear in mind that if you want to make it to the pubs in Threlkeld, it's about another km walk. We walked back via Castlerigg Stone Circle which is probably a nicer walk, albeit mostly on quiet roads (with hills) with a few field sections. Because it's higher up, the views on both sides are visible and on a fine day, make this detour, well worth the extra effort. The community coffee shop in Threlkeld looked amazing & I'd highly recommend you go there if it's a hot drink you're after. The views from their terrace are fab & the place had a nice village vibe. We opted for beer in a pub however so didn't get to enjoy the coffee on this occasion. 😉

This is one of the prettiest walks I’ve been on. There is lots of information along the walk regarding the railway and floods etc. lovely and clean. Suitable for all ages. Bikes or walkers. Young or old.
Tracey K — Google review
Interesting reading the periodic information boards detailing the building of and uses of the railway before it eventually closed ans eventually turned into a lovely walkway/cycleway. Also, details of destruction caused by storm Desmond in 2015 and subsequent expensive restoration and bridge rebuilds. An excellent leisurely walk.
Malcolm B — Google review
Easy walk, all flat ground. Nice views and bridges&tunnels along the route. Takes around 3-4 hours to get to the end and back, if you stop along the way for views. Parking by the sports centre was £4 for 8 hours but coins only.

Mickledore Walking Holidays Cumbria offers a variety of walking options in the Lake District, particularly around Keswick. From easy mountains like Latrigg and Catbells to flat walks such as the Derwentwater circular or Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail, there are plenty of choices for walkers. The area also features famous giants like Blencathra and Skiddaw, providing diverse landscapes for exploration.
Fantastic experience with 3 life long friends doing the east to west Hadrian's wall walk 2 weeks ago. Mickledore organised great accommodation for our 6 day walk, taxi transfers as required and luggage moved each day to our hotel/guest house. They took out all the hassle and I highly recommend them.

We walked the West Highland Way in Scotland in May 2025 using Mickledore walking holiday. Our holiday was amazing thanks to Mickledore’s attention to detail. Everything went so smoothly - it was so nice to have a comfortable bed and shower at our accommodation after a day of walking! Our luggage was always there waiting for us! We would highly recommend Mickledore for your next walking adventure.

Completed our seventh Mickledore walking holiday in May, along the Cleveland Way. Our continued use of this company says it all really. The quality of their service from booking through to holiday organisation and walking information is always first class. Our Cleveland Way walk was well organised with taxi transfers pre-booked where accomodation was further from the walking route. The accomodation itself varied, including a beautiful 4* country house, lovely village pubs, and a couple of more basic options in the remoter areas. The Cleveland Way is well signposted and we especially enjoyed the contrast in scenery between the moorland and coastal sections. Mickledore genuinely seem to have clients best interests at heart and we're looking forward to planning our next adventure with them.

Although the weather was challenging Mickledore chose overnight stays with great drying facility. Organisation and information simply couldn’t have been better. We would definitely use Mickledore again.

Wonderful holiday booked thru Mickledore , super organised and everything worked as booked. Luggage transfers , accommodation , information for the walk and booking of places to eat in the evening. All worked perfectly just make sure you read the information sent and book your evening meals before you travel as suggested in the information. Staff were super helpful when information was requested . Highly recommend using this firm well worth the money .

I booked Cleveland Way through Mickledore. It was my third walk with them and as with each of the others everything was perfect! My accommodations were excellent and my luggage always awaiting me. In planning the trip they were very helpful and answered any and all questions. I am planning on doing another walk next year (Thames Path) and again making my arrangements through them. I have complete confidence!

We just completed the Isle of Wight Coastal Path, our 5th walking holiday with Mickledore Walking Holidays. We cannot say enough about the high level of service provided by all team members at Mickledore. They took care of everything from start to finish. Due to coastal erosion, there are a number of diversions on the coastal path and the staff at Mickledore went out of their way to ensure we were well informed of the diversions and alternative routes. All of the accommodation was very good. The package of information provided was informative and we appreciated also being able to access all of the info related to our booking on the Mickledore app as well. We would highly recommend Mickledore Walking Holidays.

Ashness Bridge is a small stone packhorse bridge located in the Lake District, offering picturesque views of the surrounding area and Derwentwater. It is considered one of the prettiest locations in the region, with lovely views over the lake. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Surprise View and the hamlet of Watendlath. The beauty spot is free to visit and provides a serene setting for relaxation by listening to the flowing water.
Apparently one of the most photographed places in the lakes and easy to see why, very picturesque. Parking nearby with the usual National Trust prices! Tricky drive over the narrow bridge but well worth it!

Hi everyone this is a nice so see the derwentwater half way up to surprise view. Has car park so great for walk starts . No toilets mind . We had picnic on the Rocks . Lovely spot
R S — Google review
Ashness bridge is considered the most photographed most photographed bridge in the Lake District. The bridge was designed to be narrow and humped with low sides for the caravans of pack-horses that used to transport heavy loads. They carried their burdens in large packs that bulged out on both sides. The low parapets of the bridge was meant for the animals that wouldn't get stuck if their loads were Particularly wide. The area around the bridge is very scenic, worth visiting it. There is enough parking facility nearby.
Soudamini M — Google review
Ashness Bridge is an iconic Lake District spot, and it did not disappoint. We visited on a misty October afternoon, which gave the ancient stonework a wonderfully atmospheric feel. Not too busy, easy to access. You have a car park very close.

Picturesque views around this narrow packhorse bridge, a great place to begin multiple different hikes. The river flows wildly with heavy rainfall and becomes a more peaceful and quiet stream when there's minimal rain.

Probably the most photoghraphed bridge in the lake district, can be found easily. A great walk to it from keswick up to walla crag or even a boat trip from keswick will get you there.

My first experience of this beautiful place was 51 years ago, and I have always wanted to return as an adult. Serene and calming it is my late father's most favourite place in the world. He travelled extensively throughout dozens of countries, looking for beautiful scenery, not cities, and this was the best in his opinion. Enjoy, once visited not easily forgotten.
