One of the Best Malls in Bhopal – Great Experience for Families! I recently visited DB City Mall in Bhopal, and I must say, it truly lives up to its reputation as the city’s most vibrant and well-managed shopping destination. What stood out the most during my visit was the excellent kids' play area and the overall family-friendly atmosphere. 🎠 Kids Play Area – A Major Plus! The mall has a well-designed and safe kids' play zone that's perfect for children to enjoy while parents shop or relax. It's clean, well-supervised, and offers a variety of fun activities that kept my child entertained for a long time. It’s definitely one of the better play areas I’ve seen in a mall – colorful, secure, and thoughtfully planned. 🛍️ Shopping & Brands: DB City Mall has a wide range of stores – from popular national and international fashion brands to electronics, accessories, and more. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate. You can spend hours exploring without feeling cramped. 🍽️ Food Court & Dining: The food court is impressive, offering everything from fast food to full-course meals. It has seating for large groups, and the variety is great – Indian, Chinese, continental, desserts, and even street-style food options. We had a lovely meal, and the service at the restaurants was efficient and courteous. 🎬 Entertainment: There’s also a well-maintained multiplex (INOX), perfect for catching the latest movies. The ticketing and seating experience was smooth, and sound quality in the halls is top-notch. 🚗 Parking & Accessibility: Plenty of parking space and good crowd management. The entire mall is wheelchair- and stroller-friendly, with elevators and wide corridors for easy movement. 🧼 Cleanliness & Ambience: One of the cleanest malls I’ve visited. Restrooms were hygienic, and the entire mall was well-maintained. The interiors and decor are stylish, making it a comfortable and visually appealing place to spend time. --- ✅ Overall Verdict: DB City Mall is perfect for family outings, shopping, dining, and entertainment all under one roof. The kids’ play area was a highlight for me as a parent, and the overall experience was truly enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting or living in Bhopal.

I think this is the best shopping mall in Bhopal. The modern building is clean and lined with shops. The restaurants vary in quality, but are generally decent, and the prices are a bit higher than other restaurants. For a foreigner like me with nowhere else to go, it's a paradise.

War museum
Memorial
Museum
Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal is a war memorial and museum inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in 2016. Situated on a sprawling 12-acre park in the heart of Arera Hills near M.P. Nagar and Secretariat, it pays tribute to the nation's war heroes from the Army, Air Force, and Navy. The main attraction is an underground gallery that allows visitors to experience the harsh conditions of Siachen Glacier.
Shaurya Smarak is a must-visit destination in Bhopal that beautifully honors the heroes of our nation. The authorities have done a commendable job in creating this memorial, blending patriotism with thoughtful design. The site offers ample parking and is very reasonably priced, with entry tickets at just ₹20. Photography and videography are allowed for a minimal contribution of ₹50, making it accessible for everyone to capture memories. This memorial is not just a place to visit but an experience that inspires pride and gratitude for the sacrifices of our brave soldiers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bhopal!
BHUWAN T — Google review
Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal is a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by lush greenery and very well maintained. The memorial fills you with pride as it showcases the bravery and sacrifices of our soldiers, reminding every Indian of their courage and dedication. It’s a perfect blend of nature and history, where you can spend quality time with family and also feel a deep sense of patriotism. There’s a cafe inside to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The best part is the entry ticket is just ₹20, and parking is absolutely free. A must-visit place in Bhopal for everyone! 🇮🇳
Tamanna P — Google review
Shaurya Park is a very good place. This place is very famous. If you come to Bhopal, you will definitely feel very good if you sit in the garden here. The entry fee here is only ₹20. For a single person, but if you want to take a phone or a camera or if you want to do photography inside, you will have to pay ₹50 extra. But you will enjoy a lot by going here. By going here with your family and friends, you will get a lot of knowledge about soldier. Even better thing is that when you go here you will find different things. You will get different information. You will get all the information about whatever Indian military has done till now after independence and before independence! When we went there the weather was very good at that time so we enjoyed a lot.
Lakshmi R — Google review
Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal is a unique and beautifully designed war memorial that pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers. Unlike traditional memorials, this place combines art, architecture, and nature to create a peaceful yet thought-provoking atmosphere. The open-air design with landscaped gardens, water bodies, and symbolic structures truly sets it apart. What I loved the most was how every element here has a deeper meaning – the sculptures, murals, and installations narrate stories of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. The flame and tall structures stand as a symbol of eternal honor for the martyrs. It is not only a place to pay homage but also to reflect on the values of dedication and service to the nation. The ambience is calm and serene, making it a great spot for both families and students to learn about history and valor. It is also well-maintained and has clear information boards to explain the significance of different sections. Evening lighting adds to the beauty and makes the experience even more memorable. Overall, Shaurya Smarak is a must-visit in Bhopal – not just for its architectural beauty, but for the emotions and respect it evokes for our heroes. Truly inspiring!!!

It has a beautiful and peaceful ambience and very hospitable service. I went with my friend who had been there before once and she ordered my food. The manchurian there has been the best I've ever had, very much comparable with say, Mainland China or Yo China chains, with much reasonable pricing. I'll be going again very soon. Loved it!!!

Nice small joint for south east Asian cuisine esp Chinese. Decor is lovely and not too garish. Seating arrangement is cozy and nice. Chinese spread is not too wide but preparation is decent. Not in same league as mainland China, mind you. Service is good and unobtrusive. Nice place to go with family for a Chinese dinner.

10 Downing Street is a versatile establishment that transforms from a restaurant serving Power Lunch during the day to a lively pub with themed parties in the evening. It's known for its wide range of cocktails and mocktails, making it a great spot for liquor enthusiasts. The venue boasts an English pub ambiance with nice interiors and lighting, offering a menu featuring dishes like Peri Peri Chicken, Garlic Chicken Crispy, and Chicken Nachos.
It is one of the best place to have lunch with your friends and family. The food is very tasty. I tried mixed fried rice, garlic prawn, mutton biryani all were really delicious and well cooked. The biryani was bit spicy but tasty was too good. The ambience is good with warm lighting where you get good photographs. The place has large enough space to cater more people at peak hours. There is power lunch where the prices are average and one can order meal with snacks and dessert. There is separate smoking area. The place is designed as a barrier free access point.

Went here recently and honestly, it was a letdown. The club was just okay in terms of setup, but the vibe was totally off. The crowd wasn’t great, which really affected the overall experience. Drinks weren’t up to the mark either – definitely not worth the price. Also, the DJ wasn’t the one that was advertised, and the music didn’t hit the right notes. Overall, wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a good night out in Bhopal.

Lost its charm after the renovation. Before the renovated new interior, it 100% gave you the feel of an English Pub, be it the interiors, the wall decors, the bar or the seating but currently that old vibe is missing. Although, the food taste and service remains the same . Good food, good service, charges have increased a lot which is obvious because of the new renovation cost and rent. We were very regular at this place but it will be Occasional now, mostly because the Vibe is gone.

Indian restaurant
This North Indian restaurant is a must-go for anyone looking for some great tasting food. The manager, Mr Satish Pawar, is very friendly and always willing to help his customers. The owner, Mr Ajit Chandai, is also a very nice man who takes care of everything at the restaurant. Their food is absolutely amazing and their thalis are particularly popular.
Best taste in food , fast and good service and location and atmosphere is also good

This place recently underwent some major changes and the new Moti Mahal is changed completely! Loved the Dal Makhani and Paneer here! Service is also pretty awesome! I even tried fresh lime soda and its one of the best I had till date! Plus they have now extended the bar area and the newly built area has an awesome ambiance and atmosphere!

The Draught beer is not Draught beer. Its hunter beer served from a keg. The keg is filled by the employees by hunter beer bottles, and to create a pressure they are using a gas cylinder. Its fake Draught beer, and they are fooling people. Food is worst.

Mr. Satish pawar, manager of the bar is very charming person. He treats his customer very well. Mr. Ajit chandai, owner of the bar moti mahal. He is also very nice gentel man. The food is amazing. Thali ghar jaise..... Mind blowing. Lachha paratha, garlic nan, very very tasty

Never delivers the right order. They make sure to give non-veg to vegetarians and vice versa. The service is even worse. The food item given is never correct or in the right proportion it should be. If u are thinking to eat here do it on your own risk and eat only when u wish to have poor service.

Mughlai restaurant
If you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Bhopal, make sure to stop by Jameel Hotel in Ibrahimpura. This bustling eatery is nestled in a lively market area filled with bakeries and offers an array of mouth-watering dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings after a day of exploring.
They provide excellent food at an affordable price. You can get many kind of mon veg items here like chicken items like chicken tikka, chicken lollipop etc., mutton or fish items etc. The food tastes too good. Based on taste of food I'll give it 10 out of 10. But since it gets too much customers compared to its size, so it gets sometimes too crowded then they make you sit with strangers. So based on that I'll rate it 4 out of 10. But overall the restaurant is very good. 8 out of 10.
Krishna S — Google review
The taste of the their food is deteriorated over the period of time as it's not the same Jameel which used to be back in 2010s as the quality of the food served is not good the other day I had ordered for a sheermal and I was given a bread it was a disappointment for me as the person thought I don't know what is a sheermal just because I was an outsider trust me there are better eateries than this go over there not here.
Tausif R — Google review
"I ordered egg biryani because I am an eggetarian, not a non-vegetarian. However, I found many small pieces of chicken mixed with the rice, which was very disappointing. This shows a lack of proper food handling and care. Moreover, basic essentials like tissues were also not provided. Very bad experience!"

Worst food. I don’t even know why were they even famous back in old days. They are pure garbage

My dining experience at Jameela Hotel in Bhopal was a culinary delight. The food was exceptional, offering a burst of flavors that surpassed expectations. However, the congested area surrounding the hotel might be a drawback for some. If you're willing to overlook the crowded surroundings, Jameela Hotel is a go-to spot for those seeking delicious cuisine in Bhopal.

Disappointed! They will make every gravy in karahi style. We ordered chicken Tikka curry and mutton korma both were made instantly and not upto the mark at all. No options on roti as well, only tandoori was available. Service was ok though. If you are looking for authentic bhopali korma do not prefer this.

Shopping mall
Ashima Anupama Mall is a well-planned, sizable and multilevel shopping mall in the city of Bhopal. The mall has a wide variety of stores, including brand-name retailers such as Nike, Adidas and others. There is also a food court on site with various restaurants. A multiplex cinema is also present on site for movie buffs.
Aashima mall is wonderful 👍😊😊 Very peaceful and happy environment 😊

Not much to do here now. The mall is not maintained well. Most of the shops have closed down. The food court is average. The walkways stink. Cinepolis is the only good thing about the mall.

✅Cinepolis Is only Best Thing In Ashima Mall 🟥 Mall has No Maintanence and smelly. Food Court Is Small But but price are Very Affordable, taste is Good Sweeping Staff Is Lazy
Sanskar R — Google review
I really liked the food court of this mall. You will get plenty of options here. You can sit comfortably here and eat food of any brand and I also liked the cleanliness here. I basically did not go here for shopping. I went to the food court here to eat something. I found many options available in the food court. Go there and eat food.
Lakshmi R — Google review
I am a regular visitor to your mall and have always appreciated the wide range of shops and amenities. However, I’ve notice couple of days a recurring and unpleasant garbage smell in the lift , near the food court, parking area, or basement level]. The odor has become difficult to ignore and negatively affects the overall atmosphere. It not only detracts from the shopping and dining experience, but it also raises concerns regarding hygiene and cleanliness for patrons and staff alike.
Medkapil I — Google review
Aashima Mall is a one-stop destination for fashion, food, and fun. Located in the wonderful city of Bhopal, it offers hyper stores, dining, and entertainment. The hyper-store consists of men's fashion, women's fashion, kids’ fashion, accessories, body care, gift & stationery, jewelry, home decoration, automobiles, and electronics. Be it casual clothes or Indian wears or International wears, this place caters to all your needs. There are a variety of dining choices that include a cafe, restaurant & bar, kitchen counters, and kiosk. If you want some entertainment, then check out the Kids Toy Car, Kids Train, Cinepolis (probably best multiplex in Bhopal) and Play On options at this Mall. The mall is unique in its own way and is being built to give maximum visibility to each store. Well-planned stores and scientific layout with a massive atrium allow appropriate distribution of space for different sections.
Sumit K — Google review
I have visited Ashima Mall in Bhopal and it is a fantastic place to spend time with family and friends. The mall has a great selection of stores with both national and international brands, making it easy to find what you're looking for. The food court offers a variety of cuisines and the multiplex cinema is a great place to catch the latest movies. The mall is well-maintained and clean, which adds to the overall experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, making it a pleasant shopping experience. I highly recommend visiting Ashima Mall if you're in Bhopal.

When in Bhopal, a visit to the Indian Coffee House is a must. This popular spot is beloved by locals and visitors alike for its delicious coffee and crispy Dosas. Situated in MP Nagar, it's not just a place for great food but also serves as a hub for business and government meetings. The ambiance and professional service make it an ideal setting for various gatherings.
Tasty and clean food at affordable especially coffee and South Indian
Praveen S — Google review
Quite place, ordered coffee and paneer pakoda, that was without salt, No idea about the taste of other food, like dosa, chole bhature etc
Rohit B — Google review
Indian Coffee House is not just a café—it’s a slice of history and nostalgia that continues to charm generations of people. With its unique old-world charm, affordable menu, and simple yet heartwarming hospitality, it stands apart from the modern café culture dominated by flashy interiors and overpriced items. The first thing you notice when you enter an Indian Coffee House is its vintage setting. The interiors are usually modest, with wooden furniture, simple tablecloths, and waiters dressed in their iconic white uniforms with turbans. The atmosphere transports you back in time, reminding you of an era when cafés were not just about coffee but about conversations, debates, and togetherness. Many branches of ICH still carry this aura of intellectual gatherings, where students, writers, professors, and office-goers have spent countless hours over a cup of filter coffee. Speaking of coffee, the classic South Indian filter coffee is the star of the menu—strong, aromatic, and always consistent. It’s not fancy like cappuccinos or lattes, but it has an authenticity and richness that keeps you coming back. Along with coffee, the food menu is surprisingly wide and very budget-friendly. From masala dosas, cutlets, and omelettes to the ever-popular mutton dosa and fried rice, the taste is homely and comforting. Unlike commercial fast-food joints, the food here feels like something prepared with care rather than just churned out quickly. One of the highlights of Indian Coffee House is its affordability. You can enjoy a hearty meal or spend hours sipping coffee without worrying about burning a hole in your pocket. This is one reason why it is such a favorite among students and middle-class families. The service, though not always the fastest, has a charm of its own. The waiters are polite and respectful, and their traditional attire adds to the timeless feel of the place. The slightly slow pace also encourages you to relax and spend time instead of rushing out, which is rare in today’s fast-moving café culture. Overall, Indian Coffee House is more than just a restaurant—it is an institution. It carries cultural and emotional value for many Indians who grew up visiting it with friends and family. Whether you go there for its iconic filter coffee, its delicious dosas and cutlets, or simply to experience its heritage, you will always leave with a sense of warmth and nostalgia. If you are looking for luxury or modern café vibes, this might not be your place. But if you want authenticity, tradition, and a soulful cup of coffee, Indian Coffee House will never disappoint. ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 ✔ Great taste, affordable prices, nostalgic charm ✘ Sometimes service can be a bit slow, interiors are very basic
Asif K — Google review
There are better joints within Indian Coffee House. The chatni and sambar are never fresh. Even the Tea was very average. I have tried many dishes and almost everything is below average. Plz, don’t try their biryanies.

Kanha Fun City is a vibrant aquatic theme park located in Bhopal, renowned for its thrilling water slides and pools that promise endless fun. This amusement haven features classic rides like bumper cars, making it an ideal destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. Opened in 2000, the park has become a popular spot for various events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, and school picnics.
We visited for the Holi celebration, and it was an amazing experience! The arrangements were great, with delicious food, a fantastic DJ, and two dance zones—one for rain dance and the other in a covered lawn area. The water park and amusement park were both incredible. The security was also top-notch. It’s definitely a must-visit with family on any day, not just for special events!

It is very good option for the family visit during summer. Maintain very cleanly. Gives importance to hygiene and safety of the visitors. A lot of fun is there inside fun city. Basically there are two zone. One is water park which has entrance fees of Rs.300/_ per person. Full fare will be charged from 3 feet height of the children. Fun city closes at 06.00pm. Second one is Amusement park has entrance fees Rs.300/_ per person with the same above conditions. Combined ticket is Rs.600/_. Children can enjoy a lot in both the places. Number of rides are available.

Good ambition and water rides are awesome. Request to management as like earlier start the water park ticket separately (i.e 350 per person) currently they have added with AMUSEMENT park.
Naresh J — Google review
New slides New looks Ticket 700/- per person Value worth places.
Chandra N — Google review
Water park is good , compared to crescent they have little short slides so is easy for childrens. Charges are also little high. Earlier they used to give 500 ruppe ticket(water park+ amusement) Now it is 600 for water park and 300 for amusement park. They asked us to take 600 ticket complementary with amusement park(none were active though). New charge criteria is not sensible despite just charges are becoming high and degraded with facilities. Why to go - fun area , good food area, amusement park is also good. Why not to visit or choose crescent over - rate high, no clean pool ( today we saw many little 🐞🪲🐞🐜 grasshopper 🦗 and something not friendly at all leeches . The majority of the staff were helpful, but I had a negative experience with the locker room staff at the water park. Initially, they requested us to purchase a lock for 300 rupees, but we declined as we managed our expenses separately. When we returned, they had locked our locker and demanded payment. This situation was disappointing, especially since only 1-2 lockers were involved and the amount requested (over 600 rupees) seemed excessive and inappropriate. May be they will work on all this may not be if you all are ready to face all these glitches move ahead otherwise my suggestion is for crescent more upon this (water park). Thank you.

Nestled in the heart of Bhopal, Hakeem's Restaurant has been a beloved destination for Mughlai cuisine since its establishment in 1971. This charming eatery boasts an inviting dining room adorned in warm white and red hues, creating a cozy yet regal atmosphere perfect for family gatherings. Known for its timeless Indian dishes like biryani and keema, Hakeem's offers an authentic culinary experience that beautifully marries tradition with flavor.
Mutton keema is my all time favorite. Whenever our family visits the city, one family dinner has to be at this place.

I was on official trip to bhopal and one of my friend suggested me to go there. It was about 13 kilometers from where I was staying, but I decided to go anyway and ordered the mutton Rogan Josh. However, from the very first bite, I regretted it. For the price I paid, I’ve had far better Mutton Rogan Josh at many other restaurants.

One of the best biryani experience u can have in bhopal. We tried three two different biryani one paneer and roomali roti. All were delicious, but Biryani was mouthwatering. It's usually very busy on weekends. So do come one weekdays.

I mostly get food packed from here but even when you're eating here, service is great. Staff is courteous and taste is nice. Expect the food to be very oily, though - I don't know why there has to be so much oil in the serving bowl. But apart from that, everything is nice.

Family restaurant
Lazeez Hakeem, a well-established dining room since 1971, is renowned for its traditional Indian cuisine. Situated in the City of Lakes, it has gained popularity for its impeccable service and engaging weekly offers. The restaurant prides itself on offering authentic dishes with aromatic spices and tempting fragrances at reasonable prices. It also provides special discounts during Happy Hours for students.
Their mutton dum biriyan was one of the best dum biriyani I have had. The rice was mouth-melting and full of mutton aroma. And the mutton was quite juicy with ghee’s aromatic taste. We wondered if they own their own husbandry to foster and find such a choicest meat! But prawn 65 was disappointing though. Instead making it dry they made it overtly saucy and spicy as someone would have it with rice or chapati. As someone who have tasted real South Indian 65 would not go with it.

Atmosphere is good , band was too good... we had fun with our team, very serene location, we were at rooftop... It was beautiful. No large variety of veg food very limited starters. We had ordered Hara bhara kabab and paneer chilly was good... ordered regular size of veg biryani... I doubt the quantity Very less as.. also taste was okay , they said masala is tikha but it was not even spicy...

Pros - Decent atmosphere, taste is good , location is also good . Cons - Food is tasty but i think they should have to increase there quantity, i ordeed roomali roti and khamiri roti , so roomali roti is too thin & small and it costs me 22rs 😑 Khamiri roti taste like bread (double roti with butter) * FOR SINGLE PERSON I THINK ITS TOO COSTLY , IT COSTS ME 500rs with water bottle .

Being a Hyderabadi, my standards are high when it comes to biryani. So my rating is for the food I ate but not the restaurant. I had Mutton Biryani at Lazeez. The rice was dry. The pieces of Mutton didn’t taste well—they appeared dark in color & I’m sure it’s not fresh. I wanted to finish early & leave ASAP. Apart from my food, I liked the deco and ambience of the restaurant. Give them a try.

I visited Lazeez Hakeem, M.P. Nagar, Bhopal, on 02.10.2025 with my cousin’s family and father. We were a group of 10, including 6 children. We were directed to the third floor, where the ambience and furnishing initially created an impression of a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, what followed was deeply disappointing and left us all shocked and unhappy. Since we were confused about what to order, we relied on the staff’s suggestions. We were assured that Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Lollipop for the children and Chicken Biryani for the adults would be sufficient. Trusting their recommendation, we placed the order and were promised it would be enough for everyone. However, the experience turned out to be the exact opposite. Firstly, we were made to wait for long for the food, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. When the food finally arrived, the Chicken Lollipop was dry, chewy, and unappetizing—a shocking contrast to what we had enjoyed during our previous visit at the restaurant downstairs, where it was far juicier and flavorful. The fried rice portion was so minimal that each child barely got two spoons, which was extremely disappointing. Next came the so-called “Chicken Biryani” which carried such an overpowering smoky flavour that none of us could relish it. To add to the anguish, we were promised 8 pieces of chicken in the dish, but only 6 pieces were served, leaving us short. By then, everyone was upset and refused to order more, and we ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and disheartened. The ordeal did not end there. I had received a message about a 15% discount, valid for 2 more days, yet the staff initially denied it, claiming the offer had expired. Only when I insisted at the billing counter was the discount given, with the excuse that my mobile number had been entered incorrectly (which was repeated by me three times when the order was being taken). This not only embarrassed me in front of my family, but also left a bitter impression, especially since I had persuaded everyone to dine there. Overall, the entire experience was one of anguish, shock, and sheer disappointment. I am not sure if I can suggest improvement but I felt that while the ambience is good and the restaurant has often satisfied us, a few improvements can make the dining experience much better as per my past experience - Staff training to provide more accurate and practical suggestions for group orders. Consistency in taste and preparation, so customers can rely on the same quality each time. Adequate portion sizes, especially when specific quantities are promised. Prompt and transparent handling of offers and discounts to build customer trust. I am sharing this feedback with the hope that it will help in improving service quality. Hope to have a better experience next time as usually.

Also known as Minto Hall... visited their restaurant and had a very pleasant experience. It's a historic building which they have restored and converted into a restaurant. Very nice view of the city and lake. Food was good and service excellent. They have both outdoor and indoor sitting with full fledged bar. Other side of the terrace they have photo gallery too.

Visited Minto Hall recently and it was an unforgettable experience! 🌧️✨ The view was absolutely epic, especially with the light shimmering rain adding magic to the evening. The outdoor seating was perfect – peaceful, scenic, and ideal for relaxing with great food. We started with hot Manchow soup – just what you need on a rainy day. It was flavorful, warming, and hit the spot instantly. The crispy corn was crunchy and addictive, and the spring rolls were fresh, perfectly fried, and absolutely top-notch. Every bite felt like a treat. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great ambiance, lovely weather, and delicious food. Minto Hall never disappoints! 🌿🍲🌧️

The rooftop ambience is fantastic. Lower lake view and twinkling city lights are just perfect for a pleasant night out. Food is average. Nothing special about it. Service is friendly and premises are neat with historical pictures of pre and post independence era. Once is enough actually.

Visited on 23-24 April 2024. In Bhopal, the capital city of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, there is a building known as Minto Hall that has been renamed as Kushabhau Thakre "Minto Hall" in his honor. Minto Hall is a historic building that has been renovated and restored for public use, hosting events, conferences, and exhibitions. It serves as a cultural and heritage center in Bhopal.

Amazing view of the city and lake. We visited the rooftop restaurant. Service was perfect and the staff was polite and gracious. The food was good in taste and presentation. Would recommend spring rolls and for dessert beetroot halwa. It has both outside and inside. Pictures of the history of the city are displayed around the restaurant which is a beautiful site in itself. Must visit.

Today at 21st of Oct me and my whole family went to this restaurant for having a good experience which turns out worst dinning experience , while after soup we waited whole 1 hour for our dinner to prepare, we give up expectations of dinner after one hour waiting, when nobody was bother to give any information about our order and don't care to cook our food even after one hour they were asking us to wait for another 15 mins , this is the most pathetic service and rude staff ever seen, they don't care about your experience our kids fall a sleep while waiting for food . Shameful and worst service. I would like to tell everyone don't ruin ur experience and money in this over priced under delivered co called restaurant.

Park
Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh is a renowned destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Situated near the Upper Lake and Shymala Hills, it offers a picturesque landscape with diverse flora and fauna. The park follows strict standards set by the Central Zoo Authority to preserve animals in environments similar to their natural habitats. Visitors can witness tigers, lions, bears, and other wild animals roaming freely in this urban jungle.
A Refreshing Day Amidst Nature We visited Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal by car, and it was a truly refreshing experience. The drive through the park was peaceful, surrounded by greenery and beautiful natural landscapes. We were lucky to spot a variety of wildlife including peacocks, deer, a tiger, lion, bear, crocodiles, snakes, butterflies, and many birds. The enclosures are spacious and designed to resemble the animals’ natural habitats, making the experience feel authentic and immersive. The weather was perfect, adding to the charm of the visit. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the park, soaking in the calm atmosphere, and witnessing the beauty of wildlife up close. A lovely day spent in nature — highly recommended for a peaceful outing!

Van Vihar National Park is often referred to as a “national park,” but in reality, it feels more like a large open zoo. Many of the animals are kept in enclosures, so don’t expect a completely wild safari experience. The park is set along a single straight road about 10–12 km long, which you can explore in different ways — on foot, by bicycle, bike, or car — with separate entry fees depending on your choice. It’s a very photogenic location, with plenty of spots where the greenery, lake views, and wildlife make for beautiful pictures. The best time to visit is early in the morning when the air is fresh and the crowds are minimal. If you plan to walk the whole route, wear sports shoes and comfortable clothing, as it can be a long stretch. On the other hand, if you’d rather not walk, bringing your own vehicle is a good option to cover the distance comfortably. One thing to keep in mind is that the park is not very shaded, so visiting on hot, sunny days can be tiring. Overall, it’s an “okay” place for a peaceful outing, especially for nature lovers and photographers who enjoy a calm environment without too much rush.

Very well maintained, delightful experience for nature lovers. Great sighting of varied wildlife animals. Unbelievable experience as it is right in the heart of the city. Must visit Van Vihar for a day with nature! Note: Tourists can avail the safari options provided by the Forest Department or register the 2 or 4 wheeler they are using for the safari.

Beautiful place! So green and there is river/lake flowing alongside. It feels surreal. Ticket cost is very less but the experience is amazing! They have a very clean and maintained national park. So spacious and we can find many animals there. The view is just breathtaking. Rare trees are also there, beautiful butterflies, tigers, bears, snakes, rabbits, rare birds, turtles and many more I have seen. They also have a beautiful cafe inside van vihar. They have scenic dining settings. Good options in the menu. I enjoyed a coffee there while gazing at the water below, observing beautiful and soothing ripples of flowing water. Well maintained place. Bikes and cars are allowed inside. Horn is not allowed to keep animals and other creatures at peace. Bicycles and e bikes are available for rent there at a very reasonable cost. Great experience overall.

Must visit tourist attraction of Bhopal. With the lake on one side and animals on the other. There are lot of peacocks 🦚around. Lot of different birds. It’s hard to get the glimpse of tiger 🐯 and leopards 🐆. As their cage are huge. Entry fee for car is 300 rupees. They tell you to not honk while driving. But some dumb people still honk and disturb the animals. So please remember this while you visit next time.
Swapnil K — Google review
Van Vihar National Park is the perfect spot to spend a peaceful morning or evening in Bhopal. Whether you prefer walking, cycling, riding your Scooty, or driving through in your car, the park is designed to accommodate all. On one side, you’re treated to the calm beauty of the Upper Lake, and on the other, lush greenery surrounds you — it’s truly the best of both worlds. The park is a great place to catch a breathtaking sunrise or sunset by the lake. You’ll also come across a variety of animals, birds, and butterflies, making it a serene escape into nature. There’s a charming little café by the lakeside inside the park — a nice place to sit and unwind, though the prices are slightly on the higher side. I’d also recommend renting a cycle from outside (either your own or the electric ones available nearby) for a more enjoyable and comfortable experience as the cycles available inside are mostly partially broken. A must-visit for nature lovers and anyone looking to slow down and take in the beauty of Bhopal.

I find this place very useless.Let me tell you how it felt? 1- First of all, there is nothing in this park. This park is just a park in name and there is nothing else. 2- Whenever you come to a park with your vehicle, first you have to pay parking fee. ₹10 for bike, ₹20 for car. 3- After this you have to pay entry fee to enter. 4- I went there in the evening. I found a lot of insects on this bridge. I found a lot of flying insects which were irritating me a lot and were causing me a lot of trouble. 5- And when I went there during evening time, many places in this park were closed and there were creatures roaming around everywhere who can irritate you a lot. 6- Then they have made a small children's park. You will have to pay a fee to enter that too. 7- After that people come here. Mostly to enjoy the toy train, the fee for the toy train is ₹25. Yes, it is a little good. But spending ₹25 for one round is a bit expensive 8- Then when you go to its food court, you will find some expensive items in its food court which you will feel that I should go out and eat them. I should not eat here. According to me, it has turned out to be worthless. Going here or not going here is the same thing. For me, I would prefer not to go.

The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, established in 2013, offers a unique and immersive experience into the traditions of various tribal communities in the region. Unlike traditional museums, it allows visitors to walk through doorways and into rooms that showcase wedding celebrations, pots and pans, musical instruments, and more up close. The museum features a giant banyan tree at the entrance with branches extending throughout the gallery to provide shelter for different kinds of huts and homes.
The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum in Bhopal offers an incredible journey into the rich cultural heritage of the state's indigenous communities. This isn't just another museum with static displays - it's a vibrant celebration of tribal art, customs, and way of life. The museum beautifully presents authentic tribal crafts, traditional implements, jewelry, and artwork that highlight the creativity and skill of these communities. What makes it special are the full-scale replicas of tribal homes with detailed wall art and decorations that transport you into their world. The thoughtful curation represents various tribal groups, each with their distinct customs and architectural styles. Modern presentation methods, strategic lighting, and narrative elements make the experience both captivating and informative. From elaborate wood carvings to meaningful paintings depicting ancient stories and legends, every corner tells a story. This museum successfully bridges the gap between preserving tradition and contemporary presentation. It's an enlightening experience for anyone interested in India's diverse cultural landscape - whether you're passionate about history, art, or simply exploring something different. The Tribal Museum offers valuable insights into indigenous traditions that deserve recognition and provides a meaningful alternative to typical tourist destinations.

Had a wonderful experience at the Tribal Museum! The entry fee is just ₹20 per person and ₹100 for photography — totally worth it! The place is beautifully maintained, neat, and clean. Loved how every corner tells a story and showcases tribal life so creatively. If you visit on a Saturday or Sunday, don’t miss the amazing food stalls — especially their Jalebi and Dosa, both are a must-try! 😋 A perfect place to explore, learn, and enjoy authentic local vibes.

One of the best museums in Bhopal! This museum offers an enriching experience of tribal life, culture, and art. It beautifully showcases tribal artifacts, lifestyle, and full-scale houses that give a true sense of their architecture and traditions. The entry fee is nominal, and there’s a small extra charge for photography — totally worth it if you enjoy capturing unique cultural spaces. A canteen is available on the lower floor, and a souvenir shop is located right next to the entrance. One of the most fascinating parts of the visit is meeting real tribal artists from different regions who stay here to create and display their crafts. The on-site art gallery features stunning tribal paintings, which are also available for purchase. Parking for cars and bikes is conveniently located opposite the entry. Overall, it’s a must-visit place for anyone interested in culture, art, and photography.

From handcrafted tools and ornaments to full-sized huts and artistic installations, everything screams authenticity and creativity. The lighting and setup make the whole place feel magical, especially in the evening. Plus, the staff is super friendly, always ready to share cool insights about the tribes and their art forms. I must say that Tribal museum in Bhopal is one of the most illustrative and amazing museum showing the tribal culture and life. It shows how tribal community is living in different type of houses, how they draw painting, how they celebrate their functions and how they play games. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Living Tribute to India's Rich Heritage — An Unforgettable Experience! Indira Gandhi Manav Sangrahalaya (Museum of Mankind) in Bhopal is truly one of the most unique and enriching museums I have ever visited. Spread across a vast, scenic campus on Shyamla Hills, overlooking the beautiful Upper Lake, this museum isn’t just a collection of artifacts — it’s a celebration of India’s incredible tribal, rural, and cultural diversity. What sets this museum apart is its open-air layout. You don’t just see history in glass cases — you walk through it. Life-size tribal huts, traditional dwellings, agricultural setups, and village scenes from different states and communities across India have been recreated with amazing authenticity. Each corner of the museum tells a story — from the art and rituals to the lifestyle and survival methods of our indigenous communities. The indoor galleries are just as impressive, showcasing rare photographs, folk art, musical instruments, ornaments, masks, and even spiritual beliefs of different tribes. Everything is well-labeled and explained in both Hindi and English, making it easy to understand and connect with. It’s not just educational — it’s a peaceful, soul-touching journey through India’s roots. Walking through the lush green paths, hearing the birds, and soaking in the tribal wisdom makes this place feel sacred. The staff is helpful, the premises are clean and well-maintained, and there’s enough space for families to enjoy without crowds. I highly recommend this museum for students, researchers, history enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone who wants to experience the real India beyond textbooks. Take your time when you visit — you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for India’s cultural richness and the resilience of its people. A true national treasure! 🇮🇳✨

I really enjoyed visiting the Indira Gandhi National Museum of Mankind in Bhopal. It’s a huge place with lots of interesting artifacts that show how different tribes across India live. The best part is the open-air section—full-size tribal houses from all over the country, from the remote Northeast to the deserts of Rajasthan. Walking through these huts and seeing their unique designs feels like a mini trip across India. The museum is calm, spacious, and very well maintained. Nothing feels rushed—you can take your time, look around, and learn a lot without getting bored. It’s a great spot for anyone curious about culture, history, or just looking for a peaceful and unique place to explore in Bhopal. Overall, a really nice and refreshing experience. Totally worth a visit.

The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) in Bhopal is a captivating anthropological museum, sprawling across 200 acres on Shamla Hills, offering a vivid journey through India’s cultural tapestry. This National Museum of Mankind beautifully showcases human evolution and tribal heritage through its extensive exhibits. The masks collection is a standout, featuring intricate designs from various tribes, reflecting their rituals, beliefs, and artistry. These masks, crafted from materials like wood, feathers, and beads, highlight the socio-cultural significance of tribal traditions, making them a must-see for visitors. The state-wise displays, including those of Manipur and Sikkim, are equally impressive, presenting authentic dwellings, artifacts, and traditional crafts that capture the unique lifestyles and cultural diversity of these regions. The open-air exhibitions, like the Tribal Habitat and Himalayan Village, immerse visitors in vibrant reconstructions of indigenous life. Despite its educational value, the museum could improve amenities like accessibility and signage. With its serene ambiance and rich collections, IGRMS is a treasure for history enthusiasts and families, offering an enlightening experience of India’s cultural heritage.

Gorgeous! The first thing that came to my mind as soon as I stepped into the bistro was wow! This place is so beautiful. With its aesthetically done interiors, minimalistic design, thoughtful use of lighting and the sprawling backyard garden, this bistro is a must visit for anyone and everyone. I went there on a December night, for a casual dinner with friends and I was awestruck by the view. The place was nestled in a quaint corner, inside the bespoke Jehan Numa Bhopal. The cafe was quiet with only a small number of tables to accommodate the guests. But that did not bother me at all. In fact, I liked it that they serve a limited number of guests. Because the peaceful ambience added to its allure. The backyard garden seemed quite interesting for clicking some pictures and on my insistence the staff allowed me a quick walk inside the area. I couldn't spot many vegetables distinctly, as the place was dim-lit. But the view of the bistro from the garden was nothing less than magical. Talking about food, their preparations rank high on the 'eat healthy' parameter, with a more continental appeal. Since it's a bistro, the menu was limited but not at all disappointing. For a food lover like me, there were quite a few interesting offerings in Pizzas, Pastas and Salads. For the beer lovers, the place offers some good beers to choose from. In short, the place is now on my go-to list and I will definitely go there again, whenever I visit Bhopal again.

Had an amazing lunch at this place! It was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I went here with my family. The food was delectable. We had Nachos, smoothies, pizzas and desserts. The food was freshly made. Loved the cheesecake! 🤩 The service was also top notch. The staff was considerate, quick and helpful! I was surprised to see some bad reviews for this cafe's food on google maps. If you are not into gourmet food and only like masala, street - style food, then this is not for you. A must visit!

Overall recommended, though not great at value for money department. Nice green environment and excellent ambience. Food and Beverages taste excellent. Service is prompt ad staff is courteous. The main population of this bistro goers are younger generation as expected ( Teen to under 30s). Not sure if this was on that particular days. A hit different from places like Bangalore and Hyderabad where even people in their 40s and 50s can be seen in similar places. There is dedicated place for residents only which is like a very good curated garden. It is a quaint place to spend a lovely evening with friends and family. As mentioned above definitely overpriced for an outlet attached to a 4 star hotel.

🌿 Beautiful Place, Terrible Staff, Extremely Disappointed We visited Greenhouse Bistro, Jehan Numa. The café is absolutely stunning serene, beautifully designed, and full of charm but the staff completely ruined the experience. The attitude of both the lady staff member and the manager was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. We requested a plain pancake without syrup or sugar for our baby. Despite explaining clearly, they served it drenched in syrup and refused to make any changes. We had ordered pizza, two cappuccinos, and juice. Still, the lack of basic hospitality overshadowed everything. Poor service ruins the entire experience, no matter how aesthetic the place is. A beautiful café like this deserves better staff. Definitely not returning. The lady and the manager were the main reason our afternoon was ruined. They were rude and completely unmannered. What’s worse, they served food outside to other customers, but refused the same to us without any explanation. I don’t understand why they were so unprofessional and disrespectful toward there customers.

Kebabsville, located within the Sayaji Hotel in Bhopal, offers a sophisticated dining experience with its al fresco seating by the pool and live grill stations. The restaurant boasts a lavish buffet menu featuring a wide range of starters, particularly Bhopali kebabs. Guests can enjoy an array of kebab combinations while lounging poolside as skilled chefs carefully cook each dish to perfection.
Loved the food. Sayaji knows how to serve people. The food here was awesome and the service was good too. Got there for dinner with family and was treated like family.

Wow! What an experience! One of the best places for buffet dining in Bhopal. I loved the hospitality of the Sayaji team. I definitely want to try this experience again in the near future. If you’re going for dinner, I believe the experience is so good that you will cherish it forever. The salads, starters, main courses, and desserts are delightful, and you will enjoy every bite. The staff is very polite and helpful. Definitely a place to recommend for big occasions with family. 🙌

Visited here on a dinner date. Kebabsville is situated inside Sayaji Hotel with sitting layout on either side of hotels swimming pool. Live performance (music and dance) are there to keep you entertained. This is a pure buffet restaurant where starters are served on table with live tandoor placed on your table and some pre prepared starters placed directly on your plate. Once you are done with starters you can move to the soup and main course which includes indian breads, rice, veg and non veg main course dishes, followed by loads of desserts. Drinks are available, both Hard and soft, at extra cost. Staff is attentive and on their toes to serve you. They do offer table decoration service for free which includes rose petals and candle light on request. Though I had requested for table decoration which they offer over call when booking, but the same was not arranged. Overall had a good experience.

Another eventful evening. Sayaji's hospitality, services, ambience and food quality has always mesmerized us, anchoring their position in the top bracket of f&b industry. Their new menu ensures picking signature bbq dishes from different parts of the globe. We relished them thoroughly and wish them all the best for their ongoing bbq fest. Would strongly insist everyone to visit and experience them.👍🙌 Glad for the warm welcome received by Sayaji.

You can have the pool side fine dining experience along with live music. Staff is polite. If you are planning to visit over weekend just make sure to reserve your table. I feel meal variety is less for vegetarians, not sure about non-veg.

Amazing buffet experience at Kebabsville! The spread was incredible - grilled snacks on the table, regular servings of veg and non-veg delights, and an array of soft and hard drinks, including exotic cocktails. Seating by the pool added to the ambiance, with live Indian soft music playing in the background. The main course had a vast selection of curries, bread, and sweets. Service was top-notch!

Beautiful ambiance around poolside with live singing by artists in the evening. Beautiful arrangements and lighting. Could have more varieties for vegetarian Barbeque starters. Staff was a little slow in serving starters. Food was an average in taste. Bar is also there serving mocktails and cocktails.

Cafechino is a charming restaurant and bakery situated in the heart of Bhopal, within the popular Jehan Numa hotel in Shymala Hills. The cafe offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with stylish interiors and open dining spaces that allow plenty of natural light. It's an ideal spot to savor coffee, pastries, and socialize with friends or gather for special occasions.
It is so heartening to see my fav bakery and cafe making a comeback .. Happy times at Cafechino Jehnuma In my last few visits the cafe was disappointing but the visit this week and then the cake yesterday has bought so much happiness to me .. We had 1. Fresh gelatos of chocolate and orange and chocolate fudge .. it was refreshing and perfectly balanced. 2. Dahi puri was yumm and so fresh with perfect balance of spices … crunch papdi , eight amount of curd and chutney and masala. And enough quantity to satiate three people comfortably. 3. Next was the four vegetable pizza customised to my taste with lots of corn. The fresh thin base was a delight to eat. 4. The last but not the least were the much awaited desserts … raspberry sorbet chocolate mousse Banoffee cheesecake Mango eclair The raspberry was a thin and slightly crunchy coating on a perfect chocolate mousse . The mango eclairs was crisp with fresh mangos and mango cream The banoffee dessert was great too Then it was the cake that my friend got for me yesterday as a belated birthday thing .. the chocolate overload cake which was super moist and the ganache on top was simply heaven .. fresh and perfect .. #foodie #nostalgia #goodfood #foodgasm #anukritism

It was not at all cooked properly, only that it looked good. Blueberry cheesecake pastry was good and yummy. Also tried paneer manchurian croissant and spinach corn croissants. Wind and Waves is a nice restaurant by the lake in Bhopal. The view is peaceful and beautiful. The food, especially the fish and Indian dishes, is tasty. It's a great place for a calm dinner with family or friends. The service is good. It's a bit pricey, but the experience is worth it.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and my experience was a mixed bag. The *location* was truly superb, making it easy to access various attractions and amenities. However, the *food* was not quite up to my expectations. While the hotel made an effort, the quality and taste didn't quite match the standards I was hoping for. On the other hand, the *staff service* was exceptional. The team was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Overall, while the hotel had its strengths and weaknesses, I appreciated the effort the staff put into making my stay pleasant. With some improvements in food and facilities, this hotel could truly shine. *Rating:* 3.5/5 stars *Recommendation:* If you're looking for a hotel with a great location and excellent staff service, this might be a good option. However, if food and facilities are top priorities, you might want to consider other alternatives.

Very Bad Experience I had a terrible experience at Wind and Waves Restaurant near Bhopal Lake. The non-veg food tasted really bad and didn’t feel fresh. After eating there, I fell sick and ended up vomiting the entire night. Service was also poor, and the staff didn’t seem to care about customer issues. Based on my personal experience, I strongly suggest avoiding this place. Definitely not recommended.

I had my wedding at Wind and Waves, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The venue was absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views that made the whole event feel so special. All my relatives kept praising the place, and they were really happy with the menu too — everyone had such a great time! I want to give a big thank you to Sushil, who managed the banquet and all the arrangements. He was so kind, helpful, and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious, and the staff were polite, friendly, and so cooperative. Thank you to the entire team at Wind and Waves for making my big day so wonderful and memorable!

The view of Upper Lake a.k.a Bada talab is great. But the food is average and the price is not justified. If you want to go and relax and enjoy sunset then it's a good place.
Anshu S — Google review
Wind & Waves is one of Bhopal’s most scenic dining spots, perfectly perched on the banks of the Upper Lake. The view is truly unbeatable—especially around sunset—making it an ideal place to unwind, enjoy a meal, or simply take in the peaceful lakeside atmosphere. The food is surprisingly good, with a mix of Indian and continental dishes. Tandoori platters, chilli paneer, and North Indian mains are flavorful and well-prepared. It’s comfort food with a view, and that combination works beautifully. However, the one area that needs attention is the service. While the staff is courteous, the service can be quite slow and inconsistent, especially during busy hours. With a bit more attentiveness and efficiency, this place could easily become one of the top dining destinations in the city. Verdict: Visit for the breathtaking views and good food—but be prepared to wait a bit. Worth it if you’re not in a rush.

Bhopal's most unique mall is Peoples Mall. Mostly children or families come here who want to spend time with their families. There are many places for children to play here. You will also find the Taj Mahal here. You will also find the Red Fort here. You will also find the Taj Hotel here. And this place is more famous for children. You will get good food here. You will also find good places to visit here. I am a solo traveler. I just wanted to go here and see how this place is because I saw reviews on Google. There were a lot of positive reviews about it so I just wanted to come here for a visit. To be honest, its entry fee is ₹60. I can say that yes it is worth it for one time. This place is not for repeated visits. This place is for one-time visits only. If you have children at home or you want to spend more time with your family, then you can come here again and again. You can come in the evening. You can enjoy comfortably and then leave. Otherwise, if you are a serious traveler, then it is okay for you to visit this place only once.
Lakshmi R — Google review
Most of the branded shops here are closed, and only a few visitors come on weekdays. The “Seven Wonders” attraction is the main highlight of the place. It’s worth visiting once, especially considering the affordable entry fee of ₹60 and an auto ride costing around ₹40 for a 30-minute trip. However, it’s not really worth a second visit. Visitors can walk around freely, as there’s no time limit inside. There are several food stalls near the entrance, but due to low footfall, sales are limited and the food items are often not very fresh.
Shyam W — Google review
People’s Mall in Bhopal is a unique blend of entertainment, culture, and leisure. The standout feature is the collection of life-size replicas of world-famous monuments like the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, and Statue of Liberty, offering great photo opportunities and a mini world tour experience. The mall also houses a water park with attractions such as a swimming pool, wave pool, and various water rides, making it a fun spot for families. Additionally, there’s a multiplex cinema, gaming zones, and a variety of food outlets to cater to different tastes. However, some areas could benefit from better maintenance. Visitors have noted issues like cleanliness in restrooms and the need for more active retail outlets. Despite these, the overall experience remains enjoyable, especially for those looking to spend a day exploring diverse attractions in one place. Tip: Visit during the evening to see the monument replicas beautifully illuminated.

The Jama Masjid in Bhopal is a large, important mosque built during the Nawab of Bhopal period. It is decorated with domes, minarets, and a vast courtyard and is one of the most beautiful mosques in India. It is well maintained and popular among tourists.
Jama Masjid is the second-largest mosque in Bhopal and also the pride of Bhopal. This mosque is situated in a congested market area. Most tourists come to visit this mosque for its beautiful classic Islamic architecture. This mosque has three side entry doors you enter from anywhere.

Jama Masjid in Bhopal has historical value and beautiful old architecture, but the experience was underwhelming. The structure itself is grand, but poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness take away from its charm. The surroundings felt a bit chaotic, and there wasn’t much information or signage for visitors. With better upkeep and management, it could be a much more pleasant and respectful experience.

A must visit. I went to the Jama masjid at night. There were hardly any people about. Being a non Muslim, I was not sure whether I could enter or not, so I asked an elderly gentleman who was exuding the mosque. He said I could go in & escorted me in himself. The mosque was brilliantly lit from outside. I did i was the only visor & had the whole mosque to sit in tranquility or peace. I took a few moments to disk in the atmosphere of the place. I would say this is among the more beautiful mosques in India & well maintained.

Jama Masjid in Bhopal was built by Qudsia Begum who had aslo built the famous Gauhar Mahal. The Begums ruled Bhopal and shows how women had the power to rule and build something which stands till today. The Begum were very wise. Their knowledge on Islamic architecture is well portrayed in the elements of the entire building. The place is mostly deserted apart from tourists travelling there. I request others to upload the correct pictures of the Masjid as few people have Added Taj ul Masajid pictures. Beware of the wrong pictures. I am sharing few pictures when i visited there.

The Jama Masjid of Bhopal, built by the city's first female ruler, Qudsia Begum, in the early 19th century, is a historical landmark. The mosque's striking facade features two tall octagonal minarets that majestically rise from the main structure. Each minaret is topped with a gracefully adorned dome and crowned with a gleaming, gold-plated finial. Its elevated platform, accessed through three entrance gateways, gives the mosque a commanding presence in its surroundings. Located in the bustling Chauk Bazaar, this mosque is not just a place of worship but a significant architectural marvel that attracts visitors.

Moti Masjid, often referred to as the Pearl Mosque, is a stunning 19th-century architectural gem located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This mosque boasts an exquisite white facade that beautifully contrasts with its striking red towers. Constructed in 1860 under the visionary leadership of Sikander Jehan Begum, a progressive ruler known for her contributions to the city's development, Moti Masjid reflects both her legacy and the rich history of female leadership in Bhopal.
I had the pleasure of visiting Moti Masjid in Bhopal, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The mosque is a beautiful example of Mughal architecture, with its intricate details and stunning marble work that truly leaves you in awe. The peaceful ambiance inside made it a perfect spot for reflection and tranquility. The surroundings are well-maintained, and the mosque itself stands as a testament to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Bhopal. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply someone looking for a serene place, Moti Masjid is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Bhopal is home to a number of mosques, including the Moti Masjid. The Moti Masjid may be smaller than some of the other magnificent and historically significant structures in the ‘city of mosques,’ but its significance cannot be understated. It was constructed in 1860 by Sikander Jehan Begum, a descendant of Qudusiya Begum of Bhopal, and is one of India’s best-known historical landmarks. This mosque in Bhopal looks a lot like Delhi’s Jama Masjid, except for one thing: it’s smaller. Two modest cupolas adorn the Moti Masjid’s white marble exterior. On each side of the main building are two stunning and interesting dark-red tower.

Moti Masjid is a prominent landmark place of worship and famous for its architectural magnificence. It was built in 1860 AD, by Sikandar Jahan Begum who was the daughter of first lady ruler of Bhopal and mother of the great patron of architecture Nawab Shah Jahan Begum. As Bhopal is my Home Town and we are having absolutely diverse cultures. This mosque is built on a raised platform, courtyard is surrounded from north and south by verandas, having eye catching red stone archways and hangouts outside. Main Prayer hall is further elevated where in the central part white marble is used. all the corners with cenotaphs with domes tops are pointed. Can be accessed via three gates and eastern gate is unique. Top two tall minarets with domes which are pointed and three main domes with Gold Kalash. In this mosque the unique combination of red stone and white marble is quite spectacular. Northeast and Southeast corners are having ablution Hauzes with fountains. In this mosques all community get together are also held. Mostly prayers are lead by the Revered Muslim community Judge and later detail teaching of Quran how to be a perfect human. Let the Quran be the sound ethics. In this mosque mostly Nikahs (Process of Muslim Weddings) are conducted. Indeed, offering prayers here I used to feel grateful, and I find relief from the substantial pain. Friday prayer is held at 01:15 PM. Visitors will love to visit this spiritual place of worship and they can enjoy the various traditional cuisines and shopping as it is surrounded by many restaurants and commercial areas. It can not be accessed by wheel chair. It's a popular Itinerary through the heritage as mostly heritage are connected via heritage walk.

Taj-ul-Masajid, also known as the "Crown of Mosques," is a massive 19th-century red-stone mosque located in Bhopal, India. It boasts imposing minarets, white domes, and intricate carved arches that showcase the city's elegant architectural style. Despite facing construction setbacks throughout history, it was finally completed in 1985 through public donations.
A Sikh's Perspective: A Soulful Experience at Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhopal As a Sikh and someone who deeply values spiritual architecture and interfaith harmony, visiting Taj-ul-Masajid in Bhopal was a moving and memorable experience. The name itself — meaning "Crown of Mosques" — is a fitting tribute to this majestic structure that stands tall not just in scale, but in grace, serenity, and historical importance. The first thing that struck me was its grandeur and tranquility. One of the largest mosques in India, it rises proudly with its pink façade, massive domes, and soaring minarets — a reminder of India's rich Islamic architectural heritage. The mosque isn't just a place of worship, it's a living monument that carries centuries of devotion, resilience, and artistry. What stood out most to me was the warmth and openness of the people. I was greeted with respect and curiosity. There was no barrier of faith — only shared reverence. It reminded me of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who emphasized "Na koi Hindu, na Musalman" — that at the root of all spiritual paths is one universal truth and Creator. Whether you're spiritual, a lover of history, or simply someone seeking peace — I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Taj-ul-Masajid. It's not just a mosque — it's a celebration of faith, culture, and the diversity that defines India.

There are very good people living here with whom I have talked. They gave me a lot of information about the mosque. They told me how this mosque was built, who built it, when it was built, so after coming here I felt very good going inside this mosque.

When I stepped inside Taj-ul-Masajid in Bhopal, it honestly felt like time slowed down. The calmness of the place hits you first — that soft echo of azaan, the faint scent of ittar in the air, and the reflection of its grand pink domes on the still water of the courtyard. The mosque is massive — one of the largest in India — but what truly amazed me wasn’t just its size, it was its soul. Every arch, every marble corridor tells a story of faith, patience, and the artistry of Mughal architecture. Standing there, watching the sunlight filter through the arches, I could almost feel the centuries of devotion that built this masterpiece. And when the evening azaan begins, the entire atmosphere transforms — golden sky, gentle breeze, and the sound of prayers rising together. It’s not just a monument… it’s an emotion. Taj-ul-Masajid isn’t a place you just visit; it’s a place you feel. ---

That's wonderful! Visiting Taj-ul-Masajid on Eid-ul-Adha for Namaz is truly special. The atmosphere there during Eid is incredibly serene and spiritually uplifting. Thousands gather in its vast courtyard, the pink sandstone glowing beautifully in the morning light, and the sense of unity and devotion is overwhelming in the best way.

The Taj-ul-Masajid stands as the magnificent epitome of beauty and legacy in Bhopal. While the city's deep history encompasses centuries—from General Bhupal and Rani Kamlapati to Dost Mohammad Khan—this mosque is the crowning jewel of its more recent past. Its dramatic construction story, marked by halting periods and a phenomenal resumption, only adds to its legendary status. Today, the Taj-ul-Masajid is the enduring identity of Bhopal, radiating peace, beauty, and harmony for all who visit.

The Darul Mazid (Darul Uloom Taj-ul-Masajid) in Bhopal — a perfect blend of spirituality, history, and architectural grandeur. Known as the “Crown of Mosques”, this magnificent structure is one of India’s largest and most breathtaking mosques, radiating timeless beauty and divine grace. The moment I entered, I was greeted by the sight of vast courtyards, tall minarets touching the sky, and three majestic white domes glistening in sunlight — a view that truly leaves you in awe. The serene reflection of the mosque in the central ablution pond creates a picture-perfect moment that speaks of peace and devotion. Every corner of Darul Mazid tells a story through its intricate Mughal-style carvings, finely detailed arches, and elegant marble flooring. The tranquil prayer hall fills the soul with calmness as the soft recitation of prayers echoes through the air. Adding to its charm, the attached Darul Uloom (Islamic seminary) continues to enlighten young minds with both religious and modern education, keeping alive a legacy of knowledge and harmony. Clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, this place welcomes every visitor with warmth and respect. Visiting during sunrise or sunset is pure magic — the golden light dancing over red sandstone walls makes it a photographer’s paradise. Whether you’re drawn by faith, architecture, or simply the charm of Bhopal’s heritage, Darul Mazid is a must-visit destination that captures the heart and soul of India’s rich cultural tapestry. A place where divinity meets artistry — truly a masterpiece of peace, devotion, and beauty.

Gauhar Mahal

Historical place
Nestled just 4 km from Bhopal Junction, Gauhar Mahal stands as a stunning testament to the rich history and architectural beauty of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This ancient palace, built in 1820 by the trailblazing Qudsia Begum—affectionately known as Gohar Begum—overlooks the tranquil Upper Lake. A remarkable fusion of Hindu and Mughal architectural styles, Gauhar Mahal showcases exquisite craftsmanship from the Nawabi era.
Had visited here in evening when some exhibition was going on. It's a beautiful place. The place had a lit soothing vibe, with potters market, art exhibition, music and cultural activities going on. Parking is there, though during rush hours it can definitely get filled up.
Pinaakee B — Google review
Gohar Mahal was built in a successful manner by Qudisiya Begum in 1820 on the banks of the Upper Lake in Bhopal. She is the first woman ruler of Bhopal. She is popularly known as Gohar Begum. In 1819, she successfully ascended the throne of the erstwhile princely state after her husband assassination. Today, the Mahal or Palace is not in good condition and is currently under renovation, and I hope it will become a good place to visit tourists in Bhopal.
Kashif N — Google review
The palace's construction is a marvel. Its strategic positioning by the lake and the passive cooling features, designed to combat the region's heat, showcase a sophisticated understanding of functionality and aesthetics. The glimpses of preserved craftsmanship, like the hints of old murals and fine woodwork, still manage to impress. Walking through the complex, one can see the effects of time and, regrettably, apathy—the courtyard's originality seems to be fading, and some walls show the need for more concerted, sustained conservation efforts beyond adaptive reuse. Visit for the history and the views, but be prepared to mourn the neglect.

In itself is a very empty place, not that interesting in itself and there is no reason for you to go there. But it hosts a lot of events and festivals and workshops and that's the time that you go visit this place. Last time I was here I was attending a local artisans and organic food market and it was great. Gauhar Mahal is like a cultural spot in the city center. It is situated near the upper Lake and is easily accessible. It also has a lot of parking space.

Built in 1820 by Qudsia Begum, also known as Gohar begum established the structure reflecting the Indo-Islamic architecture throughout the Mahal. This palace represents the foundation of Begum and Women rule in the land of Bhopal. Presently, the whole place is under repairment. The old architecture is been damaged. The administration is taking necessary cautions to ensure to preserve such heritage. There are no waiting lines, a guide will help you to gain knowledge about the place as well. Photos and Videos are prohibited there. Good place to visit.

Bharat Bhavan, located on J Swaminath Marg on Shamla Hills, is a cultural space inaugurated in 1982 by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It serves as a hub for contemporary arts including dance, theater, film, painting and sculpture.
It's a paradise for lovers of classical Indian music. The entire Bhavan showcases the work of various artists, featuring paintings of renowned figures, poetry, a library, and more. It's highly recommended for anyone visiting the city and looking for a serene, peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the view of the lake. The place charges ₹20 per person (for Indian) and it's worth every penny.

A must-visit cultural gem in Bhopal! Bharat Bhawan beautifully blends art, architecture, and nature. From the serene lake views to the inspiring art galleries, every corner reflects creativity and heritage. The open-air amphitheatre and museum spaces are truly unique. Perfect for photography, reflection, and soaking in Madhya Pradesh’s vibrant cultural spirit. Highly recommended for art lovers and peace seekers alike!
Satyam V — Google review
Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal is honestly one of those places that leaves you with a lasting impression. Tucked near the Upper Lake, the whole setting feels peaceful and refreshing. The building itself has a very unique design, simple yet artistic, and the view from the premises makes it even better. Inside, there’s a lot to explore — art galleries, a library, and even sections dedicated to tribal art and culture. I personally loved the tribal art gallery; it gives such a raw and authentic feel of Madhya Pradesh’s roots. The paintings and sculptures are displayed in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming, which makes the experience really enjoyable. The amphitheatre is another highlight. Even if you’re not attending a performance, just sitting there for a while feels special. You can almost imagine the energy of the crowd and the artists performing under the open sky. It’s one of those spots that connects you with both art and nature at the same time. Overall, visiting Bharat Bhavan didn’t feel like just ticking off a tourist attraction — it felt more personal. It’s calm, creative, and full of stories. If you’re in Bhopal and looking for something beyond malls and busy streets, this place is a must.

Beautifully designed cultural centre Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal is an architectural masterpiece blending modern design with traditional Indian aesthetics. Designed by Charles Correa, it harmonizes with the natural landscape. One of Charles Correa’s greatest creations, beautifully thought out building that reveals itself as you journey though it. Beautiful sunsets. Wish it had more live events in the outdoor amphitheater. Could be better maintained, specially the toilets.

Legendary Architect Charles Correa designed this place !! And it's beautiful ❤️ The flow of movement of a person in this place is amazing. It creates an illusion that the building meets the horizon and beautifully blends with Upper Lake or Bhojtal of Bhopal. This building represents why Bhopal is called the city of lakes.

Bharat Bhavan! It's one of Bhopal's most iconic and respected cultural landmarks. Here’s a quick review of what makes it so special: It's not just a single building but a multi-arts complex, famous for both its stunning architecture and its rich content. The Architecture: This is a major highlight. Designed by the legendary architect Charles Correa, it's built into the slope of Shamla Hills overlooking the Upper Lake. It’s a series of terraced gardens and sunken courtyards that you walk down into. The design is brilliant, seamlessly blending the building with nature and creating amazing views. What's Inside: It's divided into several wings, including: Roopankar: The museum of fine arts, which has a fantastic collection of contemporary, folk, and tribal art. Rangmandal: A theatre for plays and performances. Vagarth: A center for Indian poetry with a huge library. Anhad: A library of classical and folk music. An Open-Air Amphitheatre: Hosts many cultural events and performances with the lake as a beautiful backdrop. Overall: It's an absolute must-visit, especially for anyone interested in art, architecture, theatre, or literature. It’s a very peaceful and inspiring place to walk around. Just a heads-up, it's closed on Mondays.

Raju Tea Stall, also known as Fareed Bhai's tea stall, is a popular spot in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It's always bustling with locals who come to savor the best chai in the city and indulge in delicious vegetarian street foods. The stall is located near the Peer Gate area and is a favorite hangout for friends looking to enjoy a steaming hot cup of Nawabi tea and piping hot snacks while watching the city go by.
The best place for tea and snacks. We had tea and bun masks which simply awesome.
Mohammad K — Google review
I visited Raju Tea Stall in Bhopal, expecting to try the famous Irani chai after hearing a lot about it. However, the location shown on Google Maps is incorrect, as the spot displayed is something else entirely. Once I found the actual stall, I realized they don’t serve Irani chai, just regular tea. The tea was average, but I did enjoy the poha and jalebi, which were quite good. The experience overall was okay, but not amazing. There’s no proper seating here—just tall tables with no chairs, so it’s not very comfortable if you want to sit down and relax. In summary, it’s decent if you want a quick bite, but nothing extraordinary.

Visited Raju Tea Stall in Bhopal for a quick bite and absolutely loved the experience! Tried their tea, bun maska, poha with jalebi – all were fresh, tasty, and full of local flavor. The tea was especially refreshing. The place opens early at 6 AM, making it a perfect breakfast spot, and stays open till late night. Great vibes, quick service, and a must-visit if you're in Bhopal looking for authentic street-style breakfast.

If you're a true chai lover, Raju Tea Stall is a hidden gem you simply can't miss! This place is a perfect blend of authentic flavors, warm vibes, and pocket-friendly goodness. Their Chai is absolutely soul-satisfying — strong, aromatic, and brewed to perfection. Apart from tea, their Bun Maska, Bread Pakora, Mungora and Jalebi are absolute must-tries! The crispy texture, fresh ingredients, and homemade taste make every bite delightful. Perfect for monsoon evenings or winter mornings.

Raju Tea Stall - opens early morning, and remains busy throughout the day. Poha, Kali Jalebi and bread pakora are great. Tea - absolutely wonderful, in small and large cups. In winters, ladoo with dry fruits is, supposedly healthy. Fast and efficient, service is nice. Cleaning process is difficult due to large footfalls yet is continuous.

Raju Tea stall near the peer gate, Bhopal is a must visit place. Their tea and other snacks are very familiar. Tasty samosa and their highlight is mava jelabi.
Lakshmi S — Google review
This is one of the old and famous tea shops in Bhopal, located near Hamidia Hospital. However, the taste is quite average. You might find the Irani chai served at local outlets to be more flavorful.
Aasim K — Google review
Tried the place once out of curiosity and hype — and one-time experience is okay. Personally, I didn’t enjoy the tea as it was too strong for my taste. The samosa was slightly salty but still decent. What I did enjoy was the mawa jalebi, which had a nice kala jamun-like flavour — quite unique! That said, if you're tired or visiting in hot weather, it can be tough. There’s no proper seating, and the kadai is placed right at the front of the shop, which leaves very little space to stand and enjoy your food comfortably. Overall, worth a one-time visit for the experience — but not something I’d go back for.

The Bhopal Express is a one-of-a-kind dining experience, being the world's first restaurant housed in a refurbished railway coach. Nestled near Upper Lake, this unique venue captures the essence of train travel with interiors designed to evoke the luxurious feel of the Maharaja Express. Guests can enjoy their meals while watching visuals that simulate a moving train on special TVs, adding to the ambiance. With an inviting outdoor seating area and beautifully adorned walls featuring murals and paintings, it's an excellent spot for photography enthusiasts.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bhopal Express, a unique restaurant built on a rail coach and situated by the picturesque Bhopal Lake. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant's ambiance and atmosphere. The first thing that caught my eye was the live music, which provided a lively and upbeat backdrop to the dining experience. The view of the lake from the restaurant's outdoor seating area was breathtaking, and I appreciated the option of both indoor and outdoor seating depending on the weather. The staff at Bhopal Express were excellent and very attentive to our needs. They were always on hand to answer any questions we had and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. One thing that really impressed me was the cleanliness of the bathroom facilities. The bathrooms were spotless, which is always a good sign of a well-maintained establishment. Now, onto the food. The options were abundant and there was something for everyone. I tried several dishes and each one was more delicious than the last. The chefs clearly take pride in their work and the presentation of each dish was impressive. Overall, I would highly recommend Bhopal Express to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in a beautiful location. The live music, lakefront views, excellent staff, clean facilities, and delicious food make this restaurant a must-visit in Bhopal.

A unique restaurant inside a real train coach, managed by Madhya Pradesh Tourism. The ambience is great, food is tasty (veg and non-veg), and quality is well-maintained with reasonable pricing. But the service is the worst part — extremely slow, and the staff and waiters are inattentive and unresponsive. Worth visiting once for the experience, but don’t expect good service. I would actually rate the service 0 stars !!!
Tushar C — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The starters were quite disappointing — most of them tasted very similar and lacked distinct flavor. However, I did enjoy the main course and the soup; both were well-prepared and flavorful. The service, unfortunately, was not up to the mark. The staff were uncooperative — we asked for some extra onions, but they refused. What really made the experience uncomfortable was that one of the waiters followed us to the washroom area asking for a tip, and even after receiving one, he still expected more. His behavior felt quite inappropriate and unprofessional. Overall, I liked the food (except the starters), but the service definitely needs serious improvement.

Located near upper lake this establishment is quite unique as the restaurant is inside a train coach. Interiors replicate the ambience of maharaja express as told by the manager. They also have a beautiful outdoor seating arrangement. The food is good enough and is moderately expensive. It doesn't open before 12 noon so you might wanna go there only after 1. The place is quite pretty with beautiful murals and paintings providing a good backdrop for photography.

It's a pretty decent restaurant near Jehen Numa palace. They've designed the whole place like one single train coach, a very creative idea. There's one major issue, that is space for sitting, if you are a group of 4 or more you're going to have a very hard time sitting properly. Unfortunately we were given space right next to the door, constantly having people going in and out, extremely uncomfortable to sit and no option to put tables together. Even a group of 3 here will start feeling like a crowd. No complaints about the food overall, liked everything on the menu, another thing I didn't like was the fact that they had some background chatter similar to that inside of a train, it got extremely annoying because it was too repetitive. Otherwise it was an overall decent experience, the service and people inside were really sweet and helpful.
Vijay G — Google review
Great dining experience. The food ordered was top notch. Service was good, but could be better polished. Limited seating inside the train carriage, so make sure to book a table in advance or plan on arriving early as there could be a wait time.

Restaurant is okayish, Food is also fine; you can take a feel of having lunch/dinner in a train which sets this place different from others. If you are a group of more than 5 people then it will not be a good experience as you will have to settle in different tables and you won’t be able to really enjoy. In the name of corona they have stopped serving complementary onion.

The Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi are a collection of ancient structures, including a stupa, that date back to the 2nd century BCE. These monuments have been designated as a world heritage site and are known for their decorative reliefs. The site is home to stone carvings and Buddhist sculptures that showcase the lifestyle, culture, traditions, and livelihoods of past civilizations from the Ashika dynasty era.
Another beautiful religious and historical site around an hour drive from Bhopal, which has the major airport and nearest train station. It has a reasonable ticket and your bags will be checked prior to entry. Taking food in is forbidden. There are toilets and resting area outside. The whole stupa areas are excellently maintained. You can hire guides who will take you through the history of these wonderful monuments, but the overall visit can take 1-2 hours if you wish to see all of them. Good luck spotting the beautiful wildlife around including peacocks. Stunning world heritage site and I’m so happy to see its upkeep has improved in the last two decades.

Sanchi Stupa is a calm and beautiful historical place. It’s one of the oldest Buddhist sites in the world, built over 2,000 years ago. The main stupa is huge and surrounded by four carved gates that tell stories from Buddha’s life. The area is peaceful, clean, and great for a quiet walk. Not too crowded, so you can take your time and enjoy the views. There’s also a small museum near the entrance. • Entry fee is low • Carry water and wear a cap – it gets hot

The Sanchi Stupa is located in sanchi, vidisha about 50 km from Bhopal. The Stupas of Sanchi is a World Heritage site... that's why many foreign tourists visit here. The Site is clean, well managed and easily accessible. The Campus can be roamed by walking. The Stupas and other ruins are so well preserved and maintained, you cannot believe that it's 2 millennia old. The Place is very peaceful although it was a public holiday and many people visited there...you can feel some sort of peaceful energy here. The Great Stupa of Sanchi is built by Ashoka the Great in the 3rd century B.C.E. It's one of the oldest Stone structures in india about 2,300 years old. After the Kalinga war and attaining Buddhism, Ashoka began to spread the teachings of Buddha. But the whole campus was not built under Ashoka's reign. It was extended during the Shung and Satvahana period. Sanchi Stupa is one of the monuments that gives you an idea how culturally prosperous India was.

🕊️ Sanchi Stupa, Madhya Pradesh (UNESCO World Heritage Site) 📜 Historical Background Built by: Emperor Ashoka the Great of the Mauryan dynasty. Period: Around 3rd century BCE, soon after Ashoka embraced Buddhism. Location: Sanchi village, about 10 km from Vidisha and 46 km from Bhopal. Significance: The oldest surviving stone structure in India. A key center of Buddhist art, architecture, and learning for nearly 1,300 years. Sanchi became a major pilgrimage site representing the spread of Dhamma (Buddha’s teachings) across India and beyond. --- 🏗️ Architectural Features 1. The Great Stupa (Stupa No. 1): Originally built of brick by Ashoka and enlarged during the Shunga period (2nd century BCE). A hemispherical dome symbolizing the universe and the enlightened mind of the Buddha. Contains relics of the Buddha’s disciples (Sariputta and Mahamoggallana, according to tradition). 2. Toranas (Gateway Arches): Four elaborately carved stone gateways facing the four cardinal directions. Added around 1st century BCE under the Satavahanas. Depict scenes from the Jataka tales, illustrating the Buddha’s previous births and moral lessons. The Buddha is represented symbolically — by footprints, the Bodhi tree, an empty throne, or the Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra). 3. Harmika and Chatra: The square railing (harmika) atop the dome encloses a triple umbrella (chatra) — symbols of spiritual sovereignty and protection. 4. Enclosing Rail and Pathways: A stone railing surrounds the stupa with a circumambulatory path (pradakshina patha) for devotees to walk clockwise in reverence. 5. Other Monuments: Several smaller stupas (Nos. 2 & 3), monasteries, temples, and the Ashokan Pillar with an exquisite lion capital (now in the museum). --- 🪶 Symbolism and Art Sanchi’s art reflects simplicity, serenity, and narrative richness. The carvings teach Buddhist ethics—kindness, non-violence, self-control, and charity. It showcases the transition from wooden to stone architecture and set the model for later stupas in Asia. --- 🌄 Sightseeing Importance Heritage & Spiritual Experience: A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989, symbolizing peace and enlightenment. Architecture & Sculpture: A living textbook for students of ancient Indian art. Panoramic Views: The hilltop offers sweeping views of the countryside. Photography: Ideal during early morning or sunset light. Museum: The on-site ASI Museum (₹10 entry) displays Ashokan pillar fragments and artifacts excavated from the site. --- 🕰️ Visitor Information Timings: 8 AM – 6 PM (daily) Entry Fee: ₹30 (Indians) | ₹500 (Foreigners) Best Time to Visit: October – March for pleasant weather. Time Required: 2–3 hours to explore stupa, museum, and surroundings. Nearby Attractions: Udayagiri Caves (4 km) Vidisha town & Heliodorus Pillar (Garuda Stambha) Gyaraspur temples (for Gupta-era art) --- 🌟 Why It’s Special The Sanchi Stupa stands as a timeless monument of peace, tolerance, and faith, embodying the vision of Emperor Ashoka and the universal values of Buddhism. Its exquisite gateways and serene symmetry make it one of India’s greatest masterpieces of ancient art and architecture.

Located in Madhya Pradesh, India, the Sanchi Stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its collection of ancient Buddhist monuments. The most prominent among them, the Great Stupa, was originally commissioned by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. The site is revered as a sacred Buddhist complex that enshrines relics of the Buddha. The Great Stupa is characterized by its large hemispherical dome, intricately carved gateways (toranas), and an encircling stone railing (vedika). Alongside the main structure, the complex also features additional stupas, stone pillars, and sculptures. Rediscovered in 1818, the site has since been the focus of systematic conservation and restoration efforts.

World Famous Archeological Monument that is significant from a historical and religious standpoint. Relics of Buddhist monks abound in and around and add to the sanctity of this ancient site. The main Stupa has 4 gates in each direction. The ASI (Archeological Survey of India) has maintained the site beautifully and added a few attractions like a sound & light show and a museum.

Marked with a well-maintained signboard and informative markers, this spot commemorates the imaginary line that passes through India and several other countries, dividing the Earth’s tropical and temperate zones. As you approach the location (CHXV+8WC), the signage indicating the exact point where the Tropic of Cancer crosses is clear and visible from the road, making it an easy stop for travelers and tourists. The site is clean, safe, and features basic amenities like a resting spot and shaded area. The board provides brief geographical information about the Tropic of Cancer and its significance. It was really a wonderful and amazing experience to stand &/or cross the imaginary lines of the globe which we have studied in our geography... But being there is a surreal feeling... A sense of accomplishment that we have been to the centre of India. Feeling proud to be at this Fantastic location…

WHO SAYS TROPIC OF CANCER IS AN IMAGINARY LINE ? We were taught in schools that : 1) Tropic of Cancer is an imaginary latitude located at 23.5 degrees North of Equator. 2) It passes through 16 countries, three continents, and six bodies of water. 3) It marks the northern most latitude where the sun is directly overhead around June 21st, marking the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. 4) This imaginary line passes through eight Indian states viz Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tripura, and Mizoram. But the sign boards , the bold lines drawn on the high way, the photo spot meant for clicking photos on Bhopal-Vidisha highway, give you a feeling that the Tropic of Cancer is a real existing line and not just an imaginary one. Once you are in Bhopal and have decided to visit Sanchi Stupa and/or Udayagiri Caves, it makes sense to stop over at this place on the Highway , where the so called imaginary line of Tropic of Cancer passes through. Visited the Tropic of Cancer line near Bhopal – a fascinating spot for geography lovers! It’s amazing to stand exactly on the line that divides the tropics from the temperate zone. The area is peaceful with clear signage marking the latitude. Great place for a quick photo stop and a fun educational moment. Would recommend it for a short detour if you’re exploring around Bhopal.

The Tropic of Cancer marker is located on the highway (NH-146) between Bhopal and Sanchi, specifically near the town of Salamatpur. It's a simple, unassuming monument—a concrete board or pillar with a sign and a white line painted across the road. It's a quick, five-minute stop to snap a picture and contemplate the geographical significance of the spot. It's not a place you'll spend a lot of time. It's best treated as a fun and educational pit-stop on your way to the main attractions of Sanchi. The main draw is the chance to stand on the imaginary line that divides the Earth's Northern Hemisphere. It's a great photo opportunity and a conversation starter. The Tropic of Cancer crossing is not the main destination itself but an excellent addition to a trip that includes other nearby historical and archaeological sites. The area is famous for the Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Udayagiri Caves. Many visitors combine these places into a single day trip from Bhopal.

The Taj Mahal Palace, located in Bhopal, is a stunning royal palace built in the 19th century for the Begum of Bhopal. Initially named Raj Mahal, it features exquisite Islamic architecture and boasts 120 rooms. The construction of this magnificent palace spanned over 13 years and was completed in 1884 at a cost of 3,000,000.
The Taj Mahal Palace in Bhopal was built by Shah Jahan Begum. The palace is very beautiful from outside. The interior as heard is amazing. Since now the palace is being converted to a heritage hotel so the caretaker does not allow anybody inside the palace. There are cctv cameras all around outside just to keep a watch that no one enters into the palace. The property now has become a private property. The architecture elements of Islamic architecture is well portrayed in this building. Great was the vision of our historical rulers and their infinite knowledge and also the highness of the craftsmanship at that time period. Apart from Taj Mahal in Agra this is another Taj Mahal which is in Bhopal.

I wanted to go inside it because I wanted to see the full view from its top. But I was unlucky. When I went, this monument was closed. Whenever you go, do visit here. I have seen it in many videos and photographs. The city view from its top looks very good.

The Taj Mahal at Bhopal was built as the Begum's residence, at a cost of ₹ 3,000,000. Its construction spanned over a period of 13 years, from 1871 to 1884.[1] It was one of the largest palaces of the world built at that time. The building was originally named Raj Mahal ("royal palace"). The British Resident at Bhopal, highly impressed with the architecture, suggested that the palace be renamed the Taj Mahal, the Taj Mahal at Agra having been built by the Begum's namesake Shah Jahan. The begum accepted the suggestion and the palace was renamed to Taj Mahal.[3] The Begum is said to have ordered a three-year-long celebration called Jashn-e-Taj Mahal after the completion of the building. After the partition of India in 1947, Nawab Hamidullah Khan allowed Sindhi refugees to stay in the palace. They stayed in Taj Mahal for around 4 years, before shifting to Bairagarh. The palace suffered some damage during this period.[1] After India's independence, some members of the royal family of Bhopal stayed at the palace, but gradually moved away, as they had no money for the repairs. By 2008, large parts of the palace complex had collapsed. The palace was declared a state heritage monument by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 2005 and the state archaeology department carried out restoration in parts. However, it was de-notified in 2011. Until 2013, the Taj Mahal was under the archives department. In 2014 the monument was handled over to the Madhya Pradesh tourism department.[4] In 2017, a private builder from Indore, was handed over the property on lease to develop the sprawling 19th century structure into a 120-room heritage hotel. As of 2023 the work is yet to be started. source Refreshing Bhopal ❤️

AL - Amaan Shaukat Mahal is a stunning architectural gem in Bhopal, built around 1830 and serving as the seat of the Nawab of Bhopal. It stands out amidst the predominance of Islamic architecture in the city with its unique blend of Asian, Western, Post Renaissance, and Gothic styles. The palace's intricate carvings and grand presence make it a popular tourist destination.
This royal building is situated at the entrance to the Chowk area in the heart of the walled city. Shaukat Mahal is a 19th century palace which was designed by a Frenchman, said to be a descendent the Bourbon kings. It combines Indo-Saracenic and Rococo architectural styles. The exterior of the palace is also carved with exquisite floral patterns that give the Mahal a very eco-friendly appearance. The Shaukat Mahal is flanked by the Sadar Manzil which served as a Hall of Public Audience during the princely period. This brick-red building has an ostentatious appearance, and the gardens that surround the palace makes the Manzil look very pretty. The aesthetical interest of the castle, finish with overwhelming utilization of white alabaster and highlighting a progression of complex triangular molded curves on its roof, was additionally upgraded by flawless outsides decorated with sensitive flower designs giving it an eco-accommodating appearance. Indeed, even following two centuries, the magnificence and wonder of this authentic landmark stays unmatched in the city. Sightseers going to the site are certain to be left totally speechless with its charming magnificence and aesthetic interest. When going by 'Shaukat Mahal', do travel to the colorful red block building 'Sadar Manzil' that encompasses the royal residence. The splendid red of 'Sadar Manzil' impeccably supplements the smooth white development of 'Shaukat Mahal' and the rich gardens here further add that touch of greenery to the postcard culminate setting of these two excellent structures. Numerous a times, exceptional qawwali programs are additionally sorted out in the patio nurseries amid nighttimes. The background of flawlessly lit 'Shaukat Mahal' gives that mysterious feel to the entire environment. In the event that you get a shot, do go to this melodic execution and absorb your souls the Nawabi spirits of Bhopal.

It is not worthwhile to visit this Mahal. It may be historical, but the location has been lost, and it is home of many people.  It is not a place to visit, and you will be disappointed if you do. Instead, there are two MAhals nearby, one of which is under renovation, and the other is GOUHAR MAHAL. Its infrastructure has been dismantled and is no longer maintained by anyone. It feels more like a home than a Mahal or an old house. I was very disappointed to put this on my list of places to visit. As a result, it is not necessary to pay a visit.

An almost 200-year old monument, which is still occupied by residents, in spite of almost being in ruins. It is believed to have been constructed sometimes in the beginning of the 19th century as a wedding gift to Sikander Jehan Begum, the first full-fledged female ruler of Bhopal. I was unable to visit inside, only viewed it from outside. It is indeed a majestic monument, and in several parts one can imagine it's foregone splendour. Today a very good hotel operates on the premises.

I think the government of MP is not giving a little focus on the condition of Historical palaces the well known Shaukat mahal is a live Example. Once a beautiful and huge heritage building is in the worst condition now you can't even get Inside of the Shaukat Mahal due to it's worst condition. There is grass all over the building, the building looks like a haunted place of b grade bollywood horror movies. Very poor and bad side of Madhya Pradesh Government can be seen here so sad to look at the Heritage Shaukat Mahal in such a awful condition.

Shaukat Mahal is one of the most beautiful buildings in Bhopal which has a distinct architecture - a blend of Indo-Islamic and European styles. Nestled in a Wild West-themed ambiance, Cowboy Restaurant & Lounge offers an eclectic mix of Indian, Mexican, Chinese, and Continental cuisines. This charming eatery is thoughtfully designed with wooden decor that transports you to a rustic setting. The venue is split into two distinct areas: a lively bar featuring live sports streaming and a family-friendly restaurant space where the atmosphere remains smoke-free. Perfect for gatherings or casual dining, the restaurant caters well to groups while ensuring comfort for families.
It is located on the second floor....it has nice interiors. It's divided into 2 parts; a bar and a restaurant area. Bar area is different from the restaurant with different entry point. It was at seating and live sports streaming. The restaurant area is good for groups and families. You don't have the bar smoke disturbing you in the restaurant area. Staff behavior is commendable. Food taste is good; potions size is average. Drinks are available at a reasonable price. Value for money all over is good.

One of the coolest place of Bhopal. This is located at the second floor and has two sitting areas. One is Inside where all the loud music and essentially a club vibe exists, and the other one is a bit sophisticated and quite. The eye catching part of this place is the ambiance and decorations. This place will definitely give you some cowboy vibes and almost have done the justice towards the theme. We sat there for 2 hours and had couple of drinks and shots. I do liked there drinks, but they are a bit pricey. Food is good, but the dahi bhalla which I ordered was way too sour. Rest of the things are fine. I do recommend this area if you wanna chill with your friends and wanna have a great energetic night. One reminder, please confirm regarding the happy hours, because the prices tends to increase in the evening.

BEWARE of the 21% TAX over the printed price on menu. Something I haven't seen before neither I understood. We still ordered since we were there now. But it was valentine's day and the place looked dim, dull and gloomy. So yeah they are the anti-valentine gang, but perhaps the unhappy people too. It was more or less empty. The ambience sucked. And yes the music wasn't good either. The menu doesn't offer much choice, neither the waiters are too helpful to let you choose from it. Go there if you have nothing to do and because they've got happy hours....but valid only on COCKTAILS/MOCKTAILS :D It was only 10:15 pm when the people started winding up the place, and kept on staring at us to leave. They didn't say it, they are nice that way. 2 stars only for the pasta

Extremely high volume DJ which was so annoying and disturbing. 4. It is overtly congested place without air conditioning. 5. The food is just average. 6. Extremely over priced as per the services ( Beware of the GST ). Finally to add to it the waiter Mr Manish engaged in verbal argument with us. He misbehaved and treated us so rudely.

I would say that this place is fit for every ahead there is separate area for drinks and separate for family dining. The drinks are awesome and the staff kind. The theme is texas "cowboy" bsed which is what i loved the most. I would recommend all to try this place at least once.

Mughlai restaurant
Khan Sahab Restaurant is a Mughlai eatery in Bhopal that blends contemporary style with an old-world charm to captivate your taste buds. They take pride in using traditional ingredients and maintaining top-notch hygiene standards. It's a place you shouldn't miss when visiting the city, offering a mix of non-vegetarian delights like kebabs, mutton boti chaval, and tandoori biryani.
One of the best non-vegetarian restaurants in bhopal with great taste and budget friendly. Must try Tandoori Biryani, Tandoori chicken and Chicken Tangdi. Enough quantity for one person, service is very good & well mannered staff. You can go with family but I saw one customer smoking inside the restaurant.

Food was good. Not awesome. Main course items was unavailable maximum. 2-3 items was available only. We've dine in 9.30pm. Services was good. Don't like the atmosphere too much.

My Friend visited Khan Sahab Restaurant recently. they told me The ambiance is pleasant and the menu offers a good selection of Mughlai dishes. Some items were flavorful, but a few fell short in terms of taste or freshness. Service was okay, though there were slight delays. It’s a decent place for a casual meal, but there’s definitely room to improve in terms of consistency and overall experience.

Ambiance: Khan Saab in Bhopal boasts a captivating ambiance that merges traditional Mughlai decor with modern elegance. Upon entering, you're greeted by dim, warm lighting that enhances the restaurant's authentic vibe. The decor is inspired by Nawabi architecture, with intricately designed arches, jharokhas, and artwork reflecting the regal past of Mughal India. The seating is spacious and comfortable, with an emphasis on privacy, ideal for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. The soothing background music, usually a mix of classical and Sufi, perfectly complements the setting, creating an immersive dining experience. Food: Khan Saab is known for its traditional North Indian and Mughlai dishes that truly capture the essence of classic flavors. We started with the kebab platter, a mix of well-marinated and perfectly grilled chicken, lamb, and fish kebabs that were succulent and flavorful. The Galouti Kebabs were the highlight—tender, with a melt-in-the-mouth texture and a subtle spice blend. For mains, we tried the Mutton Rogan

My friend suggested me for this restaurant, we tried tandoori chicken, chicken plater . The taste of all starters is unmatchable, best tandoori chicken I ever tasted. Chicken was super soft and well marinated with balance amount of spices. After that we visited 3-4 more times again in this month

Returning back from a trip to the Upper Lake, a couple of us friends decided, let's give Khan Sahab a visit, as it was fabled amongst the folks of Reddit / on Instagram. We sat on a table which was supposed to accommodate a family of 6, the seating was awkward and quiet, but as we were hungry, we sat down nonetheless. The ambience was gloomy for some reason on the day of our visit. First thing first: the service was slow and unconcerned for the most part. We got a single menu for amongst 4 people. So, we took turns reading and deciding what to order and what not to. Settled on Chicken Curry, Rumali Rotis, Garlic Naan, Boneless Fish Tikka and Chicken Biryani. Placed the orders. Put on our waiting caps.... And waited for almost a good 1 hour before we were greeted with cold (legit refrigerated) Rumali Rotis and warm curry. Asked the waiting personnel to switch the Rotis, took him about 20 minutes to bring em back. The people of a certain ethnic group was given priority while being served, whereas we sat for almost hours (⏳s) before getting out stuff on the table. IN SHORT: service was VERY POOR and UNCONCERNED. Coming to the taste: garlic naan had very little hints of garlic even after especially mentioning the instructions to ramp up the garlic, the Chicken curry (it was Chicken Tikka Masala I guess) was bland, we adjusted the seasoning in order to savour it with the Rumali Rotis, the Biryani had rice grains which were properly cooked and had that Awadhi taste to it, the fish was thoroughly cooked and juicy, but I personally feel as if fish does not require an exorbitant amount of preparation done to taste good. Overall, I enjoyed the Fish Tikka here. Will visit again to devour some Chicken Tikka / items of the grill. Would honestly steer clear of the main course. But your mileage may vary. Cheers!

Bapu Ki Kutia in MP Nagar, Bhopal, is one of the most beloved and iconic vegetarian restaurants in the city. Known for its homely taste and hygienic food, it offers a delightful dining experience. Whether you're visiting with family, friends, or colleagues, this place never disappoints. The menu features a wide variety of North Indian dishes, with their thalis, paneer items, and dal makhani being absolute favorites. The food is always freshly prepared, well-spiced, and served in generous portions. Despite the high quality, the pricing remains pocket-friendly, making it an ideal spot for daily meals as well as special outings. The ambiance is simple yet clean and welcoming, giving a traditional Indian touch. The service is prompt and the staff is polite and attentive. Even during peak hours, the restaurant maintains good hygiene and efficient service. One of the biggest plus points of Bapu Ki Kutia is its consistency – the taste, quality, and prices have remained reliably good over the years. It’s the perfect example of value for money but,it is little much expensive for those who are regularly eat food outside home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tasty, affordable, and wholesome vegetarian food in Bhopal.

This vegetarian restaurant can be trusted if you're looking for tasty and hygienic food. When you hear the term "Bapu ki Kutia" you can imagine an ancient hut shaped structure for Bapu. Maybe they portray it as a close alternative to home cooked food, that's why such a name. Can be quite crowded at times. It is also equally popular through online food delivery platforms. I really appreciate the behaviour of the staff as well.

Food is good. But always have to wait if you are individual person. If you are in group you will get the seats as soon as possible. So this kind of differentiation is little bad for them as well. Vibe is fine. Good for one time visit. Also little slow speed of service. Also you may need to share the table with other customers it doesn't matter you are individual or with family.

Hello guys aftrr bring to baou ki kutiya for 4 to 5 times, o was very eager to visit bapu ki kutiya in bhopal and so i did. well the ambiance is ok gives you a feel of bhojan alaye. now taking about the food , i ordered butter paneer masala, tandori. roti, garlic naan and masala papad. well sabji was ok, nan was exactly how i like it. papad was normal in taste and quality. Overall service is slow and really need work on it. taste is ok, indore branch has better taste, price to quantity ratio is good and perfect in some cases. overall it was a one time visit place for me and Being Indori i have option to visit them in Indore.

Great food at Bapu Ki Kutiya. Bapu boley to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. 😁 So obviously you are eating Indian Cuisine. You are not eating at a Chinese restaurant and if you are eating Chinese then expect Desi Chinese in even desi Bhopali style. People expecting amazing Chinese here are at a wrong place. And Kutiyas don't have separate parking space. There is no dedicated parking space. Now coming to taste. This place has been there from a long time. I am eating here for more than 20-25 years. As a kid my dad used to bring me here. The taste of Paneer Butter Masala and Tandoori Roti / Naan is still the same and I like it. Chinese taste is not great. It was average. Taste 5/5 Quality - I will give my experience off course. I find the quality to be very good. The type of material which was used was good. Cashew and Paneer tasted nice. 5/5 Hygiene - They try to maintain good hygiene. Kitchen looked nice from a primary look. Waiters were not wearing gloves, half masks, and roti was touched by hand while serving. Definately this can be improved. But plates were clean, tables were clean. There was no issue I noticed. 4/5

If you're looking for a delicious, affordable Asian meal, look no further than Tattenham Across The Orient - TAO. The restaurant specializes in Thai and Vietnamese food, and the cooks there are masters of their craft. Whether you're eating in or taking out, this pan-asian hotspot is definitely worth checking out!
Classy Ambiance & Pan-Asian Delights at Tattenham Corner Nestled within the historic Jehan Numa Palace Hotel, Tattenham Corner Lounge and Bar offers a sophisticated ambience with courteous staff. The beautifully maintained heritage building boasts a charming outdoor seating area with a glimpse of the surroundings. Indulge in their delectable Pan-Asian cuisine. The flavorful and light wanton soup with delicious momos is a perfect starter. For a unique vegetarian experience, try the crispy lotus – it's highly recommended! The crispy pan-fried noodles with vegetables, customized to a medium spice level with a hot garlic sauce, are another winning dish. For a delightful cocktail, try the "Smoky Tao," but remember to stir it well to fully enjoy the mix of spirits and fresh cream. Be prepared for limited outdoor seating, especially during peak hours.

Extremely Calm and cosy place. I found the taste of food average. Menu didn't have a lot of variety. The vibes are vintage, classic and impressive because of the palace. Service was excellent. Parking available very easily.

I have been here many times and I love this place a lot beat food, drinks or service everything is on point. It is on bit an expensive side but not too much. Now talking about the safety measures they are very particular about it and proper measures are taken there. You can also get a valet parking and this place is also accessible by wheelchair. Now talking about food and drinks you can find almost every brand of liquor here from wine to whiskey also you can get good draught beer here. In food mainly you'll find finger food here. Food recommendation from my side are- chicken bao, noodles, fish fingers rest you can ask there they suggest you the best according to you taste.

Classy! The place is what it is made for The Tattenham Corner. Excellent food. Menu is extensive and different from the other similar places around. It can be bit expensive but worth it. We had Draught beer which is their specialty and nowhere to be found in bhopal. We had two signature cocktails, one was "Manhattan" and other one "Tao Queen". Both of them were quite good, taste and flavour..... Fabulous. We had "Sichuan Dry Chili and Honey Lambs Spare Ribs"

Located in Jehan Numa Palace, it is one of the best bars in Bhopal. The food is delicious and they have a wide variety of options to choose from. Some of the dishes on the menu are a must-try and you can ask the staff to help you with your order. The ambience of the place is awesome and it gives amazing vibes. The rates are on the costlier side, so I would suggest that you go through them once before going there. If you do end up there, you won't regret it. :)
