Prague Castle is a sprawling complex that showcases a mix of architectural styles, from Romanesque to Gothic and even 20th-century designs. As the primary attraction in the Czech Republic, it holds significant historical and symbolic importance. Serving as the seat of Czech sovereigns since ancient times and later as the residence for Czech presidents, this expansive site includes various structures such as the Cathedral of saints Vit, Vaclav and Vojtech, noble palaces, a convent, and more.
Visiting Prague Castle was an absolutely exceptional experience . The entire complex is filled with incredible history beautiful architecture and a magical atmosphere. Walking through the courtyards exploring the old buildings and seeing St Vitus Cathedral up close was truly fascinating. From the top areas the panoramic views of Prague are breathtaking especially at sunset. Everything was well organized and the area was clean and lively with street musicians and local vendors. Definitely one of the most impressive and unforgettable places to visit in Prague. I also took some amazing photos that perfectly captured the charm of this place.

Visited Prague Castle and the surrounding building during my trip in Mid Dec 2022. I took the 1st train in the morning from Vienna to Prague, train ride about 5hrs plus, reached around 12pm where i slowly walk over to the Prague Castle. I must said i love the history and the architect, very beautiful, a must visit place. Abit of History of this castle and the surrounding building: Prague Castle is a vast complex of palaces, churches, offices, and gardens, established in the 9th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the official seat of the President of the Czech Republic and showcases a blend of architectural styles from Romanesque to Gothic and 20th-century additions. The castle complex is one of the largest in the world, covering approximately 110 acres. Key buildings within the Prague Castle complex: St. Vitus Cathedral: The dominant feature of the castle, this Gothic cathedral is the largest and most important temple in Prague. Its construction spanned centuries, finally concluding in 1929. It is the site of coronations, houses the Bohemian Crown Jewels, and contains the tombs of many Bohemian kings. Old Royal Palace: The former seat of Bohemian princes and kings, this palace features Romanesque foundations and a magnificent late Gothic Vladislav Hall. St. George's Basilica: The oldest surviving church within Prague Castle, this basilica dates to 920 AD and is a fine example of Romanesque architecture. Golden Lane: This charming, narrow street is lined with small, colorful 16th-century houses originally built for castle guards and goldsmiths. Later, it famously housed writer Franz Kafka. Today, the houses contain exhibits and souvenir shops. Lobkowicz Palace: The only privately owned building in the complex, this palace showcases a significant private art and musical collection.

We bought tickets ahead of time, which was helpful since Prague is bustling no matter the time of year! The palace complex is massive and beautiful! Unfortunately, the palace itself was closed for an event, but we were able to explore the Cathedral and other areas within the complex. The stain glass windows are stunning and we had a good chuckle about the Starbucks with the grounds. We also were able to witness the changing of the guards, which was cool! Don’t miss out on the gardens and buildings outside of the main area!
Olivia H — Google review
Nice and interesting to visit overall but the basilica can be skipped. The Cathedral is beautiful. The museum is interesting and it offers nice views of the city from the terrace. A ticket to the tower is extra (200 czk) and can be purchased from the ticket office in front of the Cathedral.
T Q — Google review
Fantastic architecture, stunning buildings, you buy a ticket and it is valid for 3 days, as there is a lot to see in 1 trip, easy to get to,we got a taxi there, then walked back into town, (all down hill).only thing i felt spoilt it was it has a Starbucks in the grounds, just a bit bizarre. But we'll worth a visit.
Chris H — Google review
Worth getting at ticket for the standard circuit in advance on the official website. You can then take a tram to the top of the castle grounds and work your way through the complex before ending the day with a nice refreshment at the bar area, before making your way down the steps.

Prague Castle is an absolutely fascinating place and one of the highlights of my trip to Prague. It’s not just a castle, it’s a whole complex full of history, stunning architecture, and beautiful views of the city. Walking through its courtyards and old buildings feels like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is amazing, especially when you see the mix of Gothic, Baroque, and Romanesque styles all in one place. The castle grounds are very well maintained, and there’s so much to see including St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, and the charming Golden Lane. Getting there was easy, and the entrance process was smooth with no long lines. I really enjoyed taking my time exploring, as every corner has something interesting to discover. From the top, the panoramic view of Prague is absolutely breathtaking. If you’re visiting the city, Prague Castle is definitely a must visit attraction. It’s a place full of culture, beauty, and history that leaves a lasting impression.

Prague Castle was an awesome place for our family to visit! We stuck to the free areas to avoid the long lines (not ideal with kids), but there was still plenty to explore and enjoy. The architecture, views, and atmosphere were all incredible. The changing of the guard ceremony at noon was definitely the highlight—everyone in the family loved it. A must-see when visiting Prague!

St. Vitus Cathedral is a Gothic masterpiece and a resting place for saints like Vitus, Wenceslas, and Adalbert. It's part of the Prague Castle district, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a mix of architectural styles. The cathedral features twin towers and houses the tomb of St. Wenceslas and the crown jewels. Visitors can also admire gurning gargoyles and stunning stained-glass windows, including one by artist Alfons Mucha.
I didnt actually go on a tour but I went up to the castle a vigorous but doable walk for a senior. The castle and surroundings are amazing and definitely worth the trip. The tour would probably be even better. Every hour on the hour they change the guard. Its a great show. Prague is the most beautiful city I've seen and the Castle was the topping on the cake

St. Vitus Cathedral is truly a masterpiece and one of the most breathtaking landmarks I have ever visited. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by incredible Gothic architecture, beautiful stained-glass windows, and a sense of history that fills every corner of the cathedral. It’s located within Prague Castle, which makes the visit even more special since you can explore the entire castle complex at the same time. Getting in was surprisingly easy there was no waiting line, and the entry process was smooth and well organized. The details in the interior are stunning; every column, sculpture, and window tells a story. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and awe inspiring, especially when sunlight passes through the colorful glass. If you’re visiting Prague, St. Vitus Cathedral is an absolute must-see. It’s not only a symbol of the city’s rich history but also one of the most impressive examples of Gothic architecture in Europe.

A breathtaking masterpiece — a must-see in Prague! St. Vitus Cathedral absolutely took my breath away. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by stunning Gothic architecture, intricate stained-glass windows, and an atmosphere that feels almost otherworldly. The sunlight streaming through the colorful glass paints the walls in beautiful shades — it’s hard not to just stand there and stare in awe. Climbing up the tower is definitely worth it too — the view of Prague from the top is spectacular, especially on a clear day. You can see the red rooftops, the river, and the whole city spread out beneath you. It’s a bit of a climb, but totally worth the effort. Even if you’re not religious, the history and craftsmanship here are fascinating. The details on every arch, sculpture, and window tell stories that go back centuries. I’d recommend visiting early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the big crowds, and take your time walking around the Prague Castle complex — it’s all connected and full of history. Overall, St. Vitus Cathedral is one of the most beautiful and memorable places I’ve ever visited.
Kaloyan B — Google review
High above Prague towers St. Vitus Cathedral, the largest Gothic church in the Czech Republic, mausoleum for the Bohemian kings, and repository of the Bohemian crown jewels. The history of this imposing structure begins around 930, when Duke Wenceslaus I commissioned the construction of a Romanesque rotunda to house a relic, an arm, of St. Vitus. The presence of this relic contributed to the conversion of the local population to Christianity. This proved successful, as in 1060 Prince Spytihněv II decided to commission a new, larger Romanesque basilica to replace the rotunda. The new basilica also housed the tomb of Duke Wenceslaus I, who had since been canonized. After the Bishop of Prague was elevated to archbishop, King John the Blind laid the foundation stone for the current Gothic cathedral on November 21, 1344. Ultimately, the cathedral took 585 years to build (in phases), and it wasn't officially consecrated until 1929. This exceptionally long construction period certainly paid off. The building is 124 meters long, 34 meters high, and has three towers; the large south tower rises another 11 meters above the two 88-meter-high west towers. The most noteworthy elements of the interior are the magnificent stained-glass windows, several of which were designed by Alphonse Mucha. There are also the royal tombs: Charles IV, Rudolf II, Ferdinand I, and Maximilian II (all King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor) are buried in the cathedral. Furthermore, the Bohemian Crown Jewels (including the Crown of Saint Wenceslas) have been kept here since 1791. These are rarely shown to the public (replicas are on display in the Royal Palace). So, there's more than enough to admire in St. Vitus Cathedral!
Koen — Google review
2025-October St. Vitus Cathedral is gothically beautiful and definitely worth a visit while exploring Prague Castle. The stained-glass windows and Gothic details are impressive, and the size of the cathedral adds to its grandeur. However, having seen cathedrals in Rome and Madrid, I’d say St. Vitus doesn’t quite reach that same level of awe. It’s still remarkable, but it felt more like a historical landmark than a deeply moving experience. Still, it’s one of the top highlights within the Prague Castle complex and absolutely worth seeing.
Cindy R — Google review
I was amazed by St. Vitus Cathedral, the largest and most important cathedral in the Czech Republic. Words cannot describe the cathedral's size; just walking around it takes minutes. The cathedral's interior is truly stunning. There's a large main altar, several smaller altars, and wonderful historical sculptures and paintings on the walls. The cathedral is only open from 12:00 to 15:40, and it gets incredibly crowded. Don't leave Prague without visiting this cathedral.
Ruslan M — Google review
Architecture is nothing less than insane. There is no picture I can show that will justify how beautiful this place is. If you go during the day, I highly recommend you revisit after dark when it the lights are on. Note, I didn't go inside, but I have heard it's great. In that case you will need to buy a ticket
Dan R — Google review
A marvelleous piece of medieval church architechture and a huge and beautiful cathedral. Really impressive. The big negative side was, that the church was overful with people - and it wasn't even high season. It was impossible to truly enjoy the church, when the place was so packed that you felt like being sardines in a tin. Feels like the oversell tickets - entrance should be more regulated. But still amazing!

Lennon Wall in Prague is a vibrant and historic attraction that has been standing since the 1980s. Initially serving as a tribute to John Lennon, it became a place for fans to express their grief through paintings, lyrics, and slogans after the singer's tragic death. Despite efforts to erase the graffiti due to communist rule at the time, the wall persisted as a symbol of hope and peace for the city's population.
It's a wall of great historical significance. The graffiti on the wall is constantly changing, giving you a different view every time you visit. It's a place that photogenic people will especially love. If you'd like, you can even grab a pen and leave a memory on the wall. I highly recommend visiting this place when you're in Prague.
Ruslan M — Google review
The John Lennon Wall is an iconic spot, but unfortunately, much of the original graffiti has been covered by newer tags. As a result, it’s hard to appreciate the true artwork that was once there. While I understand the wall symbolizes free expression and a spirit of creativity, I found it a bit disappointing to see the original art almost completely obscured.
Eran F — Google review
An interesting place to visit in Prague on the Mala Strana side of Charles Bridge. I discovered this place by chance on Google Maps and was intrigued to go and have a look as I didn't look it up beforehand so I didn't know what to expect. Upon first glance, I was a bit underwhelmed, it just looked like a wall full of graffiti and defaced. However upon closer inspection there are parts of the wall adorned in art or words/quotes which stand out and aren't just tags. When I went in Sept 2025, there was a large group which I suspect was a school trip so very busy. It was interesting to visit simply to see what the memorial looked like and what was on the wall. If you spend a little time you can decipher some of the messages on the wall. I saw things like "Love" and biblical verses which stood out to me as a spiritual person. Only go out of your way to visit this place if you have time and have a general curiosity to see it otherwise you may feel you have wasted your time and come away very underwhelmed. There was a plaque by the gateway which said not to deface the wall but unfortunately because the rule is not enforced, anyone can leave their mark hence much of the scrawls on the wall mostly being graffiti. You don't need to purchase a ticket to visit the wall. This is an outdoor place!

Lennon Wall is a colorful and ever-changing canvas of street art, peace messages, and Beatles-inspired quotes. It’s not just a wall, but a symbol of freedom and self-expression that has evolved over decades. Every visit feels different because new layers of art are constantly added. A great spot for photos, but even better if you take a moment to read the messages and feel the creative energy here.

Charles Bridge is a historic stone bridge that connects Prague's Old and New Towns. It is known for its lively atmosphere with street artists and entertainers. The bridge offers majestic views of iconic landmarks such as the Dancing House, Petrin Tower, and the historic fort of Vysehrad. Nearby attractions include the famous Prague Castle, which consists of multiple sections including St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, and more.
It’s definitely a must visit spot no matter how many people there are. Feel the vibe of the excitement of the crowd and the splendid historic beauty. You have to be there at different timing though, in the morning, in the evening, on the rainy day and a beautiful day. And different angles, on the bridge, from the top of the tower and on the boat. It’s never enough.
Wen — Google review
Took these photos during my day trip to Prague on 2022 mid Dec. A wonderful site walk to the castle back to the train station. Love the history sites. The Charles Bridge is Prague's iconic medieval stone bridge, built from 1357 to 1402 under the auspices of King Charles IV to replace the flood-destroyed Judith Bridge. Connecting the Old Town with the Lesser Town across the Vltava River, the Gothic structure was the city's only river crossing for centuries, making it a crucial trade and procession route. Originally known as the Stone Bridge, it was officially renamed the Charles Bridge in 1870. A defining feature is the continuous alley of 30 Baroque statues and sculptures of saints that adorn its length, added mainly in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Most are now replicas, with the originals preserved in a museum, though they retain the bridge's mystical aura. The most famous statue commemorates St. John of Nepomuk, who legend says was martyred by being thrown from the bridge. Since 1965, the bridge has been pedestrian-only, transforming it into a vibrant hub for artists and musicians. It is a quintessential Prague experience, offering panoramic views of the city, including the majestic Prague Castle.
BahnooKT — Google review
This was the first place I visited when I arrived in Prague. The bridge was much less crowded than usual, but there were still a lot of tourists. It was extremely foggy, so nothing was visible. After sunrise, the views were incredibly beautiful. I recommend going just before sunrise, especially if you want to take beautiful photos. The bridge gets extremely crowded around noon. There are 30 Baroque statues on the bridge. This bridge will be one of your favorite places in Prague.
Ruslan M — Google review
Must see at sunset or at night I recommend. Beautiful unique statues all along both sides with great views of the city on both sides of the river. Pretty crowded but not any problem. You can pay for a ticket in the tower on the east side once you climb up several levels that will get you to the top for cool views of the bridge.
Joe B — Google review
One of the most beautiful bridges in the world, the key is to come here early in the morning around 5:30/6 am when the sun is slowly rising. There’s a lot less tourists and people so you can take some great photos and really take in the scenery. It gets extremely crowded in the afternoon onwards. All of the statues and history of the bridge truly are mesmerizing, this is a must visit if in Prague.
Connor — Google review
This bridge features amazing architecture, statues, river views and medieval era feel! Go early or late in the day if you want to avoid tourist jams. Don’t miss the Old Town Tower and stairs to the top at the east end of the bridge👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Charles Bridge (Karlův most) An absolute highlight in Prague, truly an impressive and historic landmark. Walking across this bridge feels like walking through centuries of history. The view over the Vltava River and the city skyline is just stunning, especially in the evening. I visited on a Wednesday evening in October, it was lively but not overcrowded, just the perfect time to enjoy the atmosphere without the big tourist crowds. You’ll find street musicians, artists, and an amazing vibe that captures the spirit of Prague. ⭐️ 5 stars! A must-see in Prague, both for the view and the history.

Charles Bridge is one of the most magical places in Prague — a true masterpiece that captures the city’s charm and history. Walking across it feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by beautiful baroque statues, the sound of street musicians, and incredible views of Prague Castle and the Vltava River. It’s especially enchanting early in the morning or at sunset when the light reflects on the water and the bridge feels almost dreamlike. Each statue tells a story, and every view from the bridge looks like a postcard. It’s a place where history, art, and atmosphere come together perfectly.

Petrin Tower is a famous landmark in Prague, offering a panoramic view of the city and its skyline. It resembles the Eiffel Tower and is located on Petrin Hill. Visitors can enjoy a funicular ride to reach the tower and then climb 299 wooden steps to reach the top. From there, they can admire majestic sights such as Charles Bridge, the Dancing House, and Prague Castle.
Climbing the Petrin Tower is one of the best ways to see Prague and it is absolutely worth the visit. We waited around 15 to 20 minutes to get tickets, which was reasonable given how popular it is. On the first viewing platform we had to wait another 10 minutes before being allowed to go up to the top, but the system works well to control numbers so it never feels overcrowded inside. There is a lift available for an extra cost, but I chose the stairs, which is a good option if you do not mind the climb. From the top the views of Prague are fantastic, stretching right across the city, and in the evening the tower is beautifully illuminated which makes it even more special.

The oldest castle in the world! Amazing Bohemian architecture. View from there is amazing. Going inside the castle might be worth it for few individuals who like history. But visiting this place, most people do it for the views. It is even more prettier when lit. It is pure fairy tale when it rains!
Vigneshwaran K — Google review
This tower is located on the tip of the hill. We need to hike for about 1.5km (as per my experience). There will be lot of steps, upways, which we need to hike. But after hiking, we would have breath taking views of prague from one end. Photos will be 👌 if the weather cooperates. I did not accesed to the top of pétrin tower. But I have mentioned the prices for staris and lift as per current date 09-10-2025 in the images. I have not seen any toilets. Foods options available ( bit expensive). Funicular option is not available when we went there. If the funicular is working, it is the best option to reach out.
Rajala M — Google review
A must for visiting Prague and seeing views over the city. There are other locations like the tower on the opposite side of the city however we loved the idea of going through the park and going up a historic looking structure. There's a lift option but would recommended the stairs which are partly on the exterior to experience the views (and weather) as you walk up. The lift is best for those who aren't great with heights and those happy to wait) Once at the first viewing platform that was a Que to go to the top which was well worth it.
Matthew — Google review
Tower that served multiple purposes during its life, now dedicated as view platform only. It's possible to go up by both stairs (which have additional viewing platform on the way to the top and elevator (which cost extra and has zeroe views). Offers 360 views of the whole Prague though might get crowded on top and in bad weather it's hard to get good photos. Still I would recommend it as the last of first point looking at everything you visited/going to visit.
Maciej P — Google review
Once of the most popular tourist attractions in Prague but not the easiest to get too. It’s a steep climb uphill along windy paths with no direct route. When you get to the tower it’s busy and the lady in the ticket office isn’t particularly helpful. For an adult is 250 for the stairs or 400 for the lift (around £14.50). Opted for the stairs and glad we did as the lift was very tiny. It’s a long climb up a spiral staircase but there are seats on route to both platforms. The views are spectacular and it’s worth going all the way to the top. Separate staircase to come down.
Linda — Google review
First of all, you should know that you're climbing A LOT of stairs. My friends were finished half of the way 😂 convincing them was really hard 😂 I think it's worth climbing all those stairs we really enjoyed it there. We went there in the evening so I don't know about how much you should wait for the view
DİLARA E — Google review
The climb to Petrin hill where the tower is located can be challenging at best. Its an endless path of stairs going up and up from the buss stop we arrived on (no. 194) but the hike is well worth it. There is a lift that can take you up right to the hill from the other side but during our visit it was not in operation. The hill utself is a beautiful place to visit build like a big park with lots of place to walk around and even a small playground for kids to play in. The tower tour itslef is self explaining. A ticket is pricey especially when you add the added price of using the elevator to get to the top (avoiding additional 300 step climb) which made the visit twice as expensive. But the included mirror house visit made up for it. All in all a good way to spend the day.

Very good quality food and presentation especially the breakfast and home made cakes, so the chef is good. Service also very good at least early morning on Sunday, 3 beautiful women all very attentive and quick to respond with a smile. Hidden gem in Mala strana.

We found this by accident and it was a great find. It was relatively quiet (a bonus after Charles Bridge) but the food was excellent, especially the signature sour cherry strudel. The coffee also was good and the service was efficient and cheerful.

Amazing homemade cakes! Great selection of savory plates. Gorgeous presentations and the quality of the ingredients are high. Very relaxing atmosphere. Loved it!

Amazing food and amazing prices. Found this gem on the lonely planet book and what a surprise. It is definitely not traditional Czech cuisine but it is that modern restaurant/cafe you need. The salad was great and massive, their hot chocolate was super rich, the salmon breakfast was also great, and needless to say their desserts were also yummy. They accept CARD.

For me, excellent experience in the centre of Prague near the Charles Bridge. The coffee there was really tasty and pistachio cheesecake there was one of the best cakes I ever had. The staff was very friendly and caring. Even though the place is largely visited by tourists, locals can also enjoy the quality and unique atmosphere of it!

Located in the Mala Strana neighborhood of Prague, U Modré Kachničky is a charming Czech restaurant housed in a 16th-century Baroque building. The interior is adorned with medieval-style decor, featuring brocaded chairs, lush maroon velvet, and intricate woodwork. The menu showcases hearty traditional dishes with a focus on game meats prepared by a chef with royal culinary experience.
Incredible restaurant in the very heart of Prague! The food was absolutely amazing and incredibly delicious! The service was just remarkable and the atmosphere was greatest gem in this crown! There was a pianist who made the overall experience unforgettable! I can highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to try the best and authentic taste of duck prepared in the heart of Prague!!!

I had a wonderful wedding lunch here. The restaurant made the day memorable . The food was delicious, the restaurant crew was detailed and attentive. I love the pate, the duck , the traditional soup and definitely the traditional dessert very very much . I must say they have the best bread basket in town . Thank you for the beautiful restaurant experience .

We went here for lunch, and it was incredible. I made a reservation, but I don't know if it was necessary. There were several empty tables. I got the lamb, which was delicious. The two people I was with also enjoyed their dishes of duck and rabbit. The service was great and attentive. It is very fancy feeling inside, but all the guests dresses pretty casually. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was one of my favorites in Prague.

My friends and I had a wonderful tasting dinner at this restaurant. It offers an exceptional dining experience with a unique and elegant atmosphere. The service was outstanding – special thanks to Lucas for his professionalism and attentiveness. The food was of the highest quality, and the wine selection was impressive. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a refined culinary experience.

Finding a definitive "favorite" in a city as gastronomically rich as Prague is a rare achievement, but this establishment has unequivocally secured that title for me. It represents a masterful trifecta of culinary prowess, sophisticated ambiance, and impeccable service. From the moment we were seated, the atmosphere felt effortlessly cool and vibrant, managed by a team that was both welcoming and highly professional. We began our meal by sharing the Burrata Salad and the Beetroot Carpaccio. While the burrata was perfectly pleasant, creamy, fresh, and well-executed it was its companion plate that truly silenced the table. The Beetroot Carpaccio was nothing short of a revelation. This dish "stole the show," presenting a stunning tableau of earthy sweetness and bright, acidic notes. The beetroot itself was prepared to an exquisite tenderness, both juicy and flavorful, creating a perfectly harmonious and balanced starter. It is, without exaggeration, one of the finest salads I have had the pleasure of tasting. My only lament was a minor one of pure desire: the elegant portioning left me wishing for just a few more bites of its brilliance. For our main courses, we selected the Roasted Duck and the Lamb Shank. Both dishes arrived as a testament to the kitchen's technical skill, proving to be deeply delicious and satisfying. The Lamb Shank, however, was the clear standout. It was a masterclass in slow cooking; the meat was rendered impossibly tender and succulent, separating from the bone at the mere suggestion of a fork. This was complemented by a rich, deeply flavorful sauce that enhanced the lamb's natural character without overwhelming it. It was, simply put, one of the best lamb shanks I have ever been served. Accompanying our meal was a lovely bottle of Czech Pinot Noir. It proved to be a surprisingly delightful and very nice pairing, showcasing the growing quality of the local viticulture. We concluded by sharing the Crème Brûlée. After the soaring heights of the preceding courses, this was the one note that felt slightly more grounded. The flavor profile itself was flawless the custard was velvety, with a perfect calibration of sweetness and vanilla. However, I was anticipating the signature, shattering crack of a perfectly caramelized crust. The top, while pleasant, lacked that definitive glassy crunch that elevates a good crème brûlée to a great one. Despite this minor textural critique of the dessert, the overall experience was outstanding. The brilliance of the savory courses, paired with the chic atmosphere and stellar service, has cemented this restaurant as my absolute Prague essential.

A romantic Old Town hideaway where candlelit rooms, vintage décor and warm service set the mood. The duck-focused menu is rich yet well balanced, portions generous, sauces refined, and the wine list thoughtful. Cozy, elegant, and consistently delicious.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Prague! The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and welcoming - it feels like a little hidden gem. The staff is absolutely lovely: kind, attentive, and always ready to help. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s perfectly curated, there’s something for every taste, and everything we tried was truly delicious. They also have a great selection of wines. The vibe is intimate and romantic, perfect for a date night or a special evening. Highly recommend✨

My sister found this restaurant on Google with a good rating after we visited Prague Castle. At first, when we entered, it felt a bit intimidating because the ambience was quite unusual for a restaurant. Nevertheless, we gave it a try and it was so worthwhile! We ordered one starter, two main dishes, and a dessert to share. Everything was very tasty. The portions were as expected and the price was fair for what we got. We also ordered an excellent local white wine, and the service was five-star. Actually, this was something we noticed across the whole city — really nice people in restaurants and service in general. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Restaurant Mlýnec is a contemporary Czech restaurant located at the foot of the Charles Bridge in Prague. It offers a stylish ambiance with large windows and live jazz evenings. The chef, Marek Sada, brings his culinary expertise from San Francisco and New York to create flawless presentations of Czech-influenced modern European cuisine.
Absolutely wonderful experience! We celebrated a birthday at this magnificent restaurant, and everything was simply perfect. The food was delicious — beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service was outstanding: attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. We had reserved a table in advance and, per our request, were seated by the window with a lovely view of the bridge. It made the evening even more special. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the atmosphere!

While celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Prague, we had the joy of dining at Restaurant Mlýnec and it was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed. The food was incredible, each dish beautifully crafted and full of flavor. But what truly touched us was the special gesture they made for our anniversary. It was simple, heartfelt, and turned a wonderful evening into something truly meaningful. A night we’ll always remember.

We started dinner with cocktails. Both their seasonal specials and regular cocktails. We tried the veal tartar the fois gras, the mixed salad which we found delicious. Zdenek our server recommended a delicious Czech wine for dinner. For dinner he recommended the venison which I had it was delicious. My friend had the scallops and shrimp which did not disappoint. Another friend had the mushroom risotto which was one of the best ones she had ever had. Although we were full we shared the coconut crème brûlée for dessert which was a perfect finish. So good we almost asked for a doggie bag for the last 2 spoonfuls.

⭐⭐⭐ 3/5 Stars The location of Mlýnec is hard to beat — right by the river with beautiful views of the Charles Bridge. The ambiance is elegant, and the staff was professional and attentive throughout our visit, which we really appreciated. That said, the food itself didn’t quite match the high price point. While the presentation was lovely, the flavors felt underwhelming, especially given Prague has so many incredible dining options at more accessible prices. Portions were also on the smaller side, which made the overall value feel lacking. It’s definitely a nice spot for a special occasion if you’re after the view and atmosphere, but for us, the food experience didn’t justify the expense. Our waiter was Mike and he was fantastic

The experience was incredible- one of the best restaurants we have been to in Prague. The vibe of the restaurant is modern, but casual, and the views of the bridge are amazing. The service was very polite and friendly, and even gave us recommendations for events in Prague. The food was delicious. We picked dishes from A la Carte, and they were well portioned, well served and very tasty. We had the Potato Soup to start with and it was amazing. I would highly recommend it as a romantic restaurant !
Maria J — Google review
I ordered 3 appetizers + 1 main dish. Overall, the dinner was satisfactory. The salad, the smoked eel and roasted foie gras were good. The duck confit used BBQ source which was a bit confusing to me but the texture was okay. The free bread were pretty good, with a nice variety of flavors and textures. The main drawback was the obvious slowdown of serving next dishes after I finished the first 2 appetizers; the 3rd and 4th dish were served 1 hour after I finished my 2nd dish.
FCMinion — Google review
The service was amazing, it seems like mostly the crowd is tourists, but it is very much a great restaurant, with amazing food, beautiful drinks and great service. The view is great too. We have gotten great recommendations from our server, and it really paid off for us. We had such yummy food, and the place proved to be a real gem, and not anything like a typical tourist trap. This is high quality food with great service and for the location and everything else - the prices are very fair. We decided to go for cocktails instead of wine, and they were very creative versions of classical drinks, with a beautiful taste profile!

Located in the picturesque Nerudova Street in Prague's castle quarter, "U Tří jelínků" is a historic restaurant with a rich legacy. Acquired by the Jelinek family in 1918, it has been a popular spot for beer enthusiasts since Mr. Jelinek struck a contract with Pilsner brewery. The restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, serving up delicious Czech dishes like beef goulash and potato pancakes.
At this restaurant I can say my faith in traditional Czech food was restored. The goulash was delicious. I tried goulash in another location and was disappointed but decided to give it another chance. Best decision! Also the pork was very tasty, the meat perfectly cooked, the salad seasoned great and the mashed potatoes had interesting taste. I don’t know why was darker, I guess had an extra gravy inside but the taste didn’t disappoint. Portions are too big for me, but I struggled to finish almost everything! They also have terrace in front of the restaurant but is pretty small, we didn’t catch a table.

Proper Czech food in a lovely resturant. I had a lovely time here and during my week in Prague went multiple times for dinner. Had a lovey pork knuckle which was huge and is probably best shared with someone else. Goulash in a bread bowl was so lovely. Staff were friendly and very good. I had a lovely time here and when I'm next in Prague I'll be back!

If you're craving authentic Czech cuisine with a modern twist, this restaurant is a must-visit! 🇨🇿✨ The sleek, contemporary decor sets the perfect vibe, but it's the food that truly shines — I had the best goulash I've ever tasted in the Czech Republic here. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, it was a comforting masterpiece. 🍲👌 Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience traditional flavors in a stylish setting.

came here early for dinner and managed to get a spot this place sells amazing czech food for starters, we got the traditional czech soup - was creamy and sweet! a pleasant surprise afterwards got the beef goulash with potato pancakes and pork knuckle - both were fantastic the beef was so tender and well seasoned, the potato pancakes absorb the flavour perfectly as well and were crispy on the outside pork knuckle was huge, the crispy skin completing the pork fat and meat perfectly, and the best part was that the meat was still juicy the staff here are also so friendly as well, would definitely recommend coming here

Old Town Square, located in the heart of Prague, is a historic and picturesque square with origins dating back to the 10th century. This UNESCO-listed site has retained its medieval charm and serves as a hub for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in the city's rich history and vibrant atmosphere. The square is adorned with an array of architectural marvels, including Gothic buildings like the Old Town Hall and the iconic Prague Astronomical Clock.
The Old Town Square is one of the most beautiful and lively places in Prague. Surrounded by stunning architecture, historic buildings, and vibrant street life, it’s the perfect spot to feel the heart of the city. There are great cafés, restaurants, and street performers adding to the atmosphere. It can get extremely crowded, especially during weekends and holidays, but that’s part of its charm. It’s a must-visit and one of the most iconic spots in Prague!

Took these photo during my trip to Prague from Vienna in 2022 Mid Dec. Walking from the train station to old town square before reaching the castle. Quite an eye opening as walking from train station to the castle lets you experience many of the old historical buildings. Nice place to visit. History: Prague's Old Town Square, or Staroměstské náměstí, has served as the city's main public gathering space since the 10th century. Surrounded by historic architecture spanning multiple periods

The main square of the city and probably biggest and most visited sight in the whole city. A large square surrounded by medieval buildings, of which the most famous are the old town hall and the church of the madonna. Absolutely fabulous and a must visit place, which of course has it's drawbacks: it is extremely packed with tourists.

This square in Prague has delightful architecture to see. It also has the famous Astronomical Clock. There are many restaurants with outdoor places to sit and eat. You can go to the top of the Old Town Hall by walking up many steps or purchasing an elevator ticket. Here you will see great views of the surrounding areas from up there.

The Old Town Square is definitely the kind of place where you get an incredible view no matter what coordinate you stand on or which way you look. It’s always packed with tourists (even when it was pouring rain!), but Prague, Czech Republic, is one of those cities that just instantly lifts your spirits and makes you feel happy. If you’re lucky, you might even spot two giant dogs, just like the ones in the picture. (They are seriously a sight to behold in real life!) I wonder what breed those dogs are? Anyway, I don't think I'll ever forget this square—it’s the hub where so many famous landmarks meet. Prague, you're totally stuck in my memory!
Jeonghak R — Google review
One of the oldest parts of the city is the heart of medieval Prague. The most significant square of historical Prague, founded in the 12th century, has witnessed many historical events. In addition to the Old Town Hall and the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the square is dominated by the Baroque Church of St. Nicholas, the Rococo Kinsky Palace, the Gothic House at the Stone Bell and the Jan Hus Monument. On the pavement of the square there are memorial stones commemorating the execution of 27 Czech lords in 1621 and the Prague Meridian. Perhaps the most beautiful square in the whole city. Gothic houses and churches; cobblestone streets and squares; stone towers create an amazing historical atmosphere. And all kinds of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, shops of international brands, galleries and hotels give energy to the old city, presenting its modern face.
Witold D — Google review
The most beautiful and historical centre of Prague! The astronomical clock, St. Nicholas church, church of our lady and other historical buildings are located around the square. The Old Town Square remains a vibrant place with many pavement cafes and restaurants, frequent concerts in the churches, street performances, and seasonal markets like Christmas and Easter markets.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Palladium is a bustling shopping complex located in Prague, known for its 175+ stores, restaurants, and cafes. Situated in the former 19th-century George of Podebrad military barracks, this mall seamlessly blends modern elements with historical architecture. The largest shopping center in Prague, Palladium offers a mix of well-known chain stores and smaller boutiques within its 170 shops.
even though in the outside it might seem like this mall is small and probably old, when you step your foot in, you get hit by an atmosphere unseen by me before. this mall is extremely huge and has lots of stuff to try out of all sorts. since it is located in the central part of Prague, it surely is a great place to flee during the extreme heat of afternoon in summer
Alex — Google review
Since our hotel was not far from the Palladium so we went there a few times during our stay in Prague. While it didn't have many interesting shops & stuffs (i.e. jewellery, mobiles...etc.) were as pricey as in London, but we loved the Palladium. The expansive layout and aesthetically pleasing interior design of the shopping mall were truly impressive. We were impressed with the entrance illuminated escalator, the multi story volume space in the centre (comprising 5 floors), the flooring's color scheme, the high ceilings, the incorporation of natural light, and the interior railings were all my cup of tea. The diverse culinary options available in the food court on the top floor were also amazing, even though we ended up choosing the wrong restaurant at the end! This is a fantastic shopping mall with huge potential if they have the right shops.

The interior was beautifully designed, with a large Christmas tree and decorations everywhere. The food court was very spacious and housed many fast food restaurants and restaurants serving cuisines from different countries. The other floors house stores from a wide variety of brands. This shopping center is very easy to reach; public transportation connects all around. The only downside is that for a mall visited by so many people, restrooms are charged.

Prašná brána, also known as the Powder Tower, is a historic city gate in Prague that dates back to the 15th century. Originally built in the 11th century and later reconstructed, it served as one of the original entrances to Old Town Prague. During the 17th century, it was repurposed for storing gunpowder, hence its name.
Wonderful structure away from the busy area of Prague. The structure is grand and captivating. The view from the top is amazing. You get a whole different view when compared to the ones from the old town area. You also get to see some modern parts of Prague. You can buy the tickets ahead of time but it’s not necessary. Definitely should visit. Just get a little disappointing to see people carving their initials on a historical structure on top of the tower. The local government should really do something about that.
Anand — Google review
Stunning old tower, gateway to Old Town of Prague. A must see when in Prague. I recently visited Prague for a short visit in Sept 2025 and when I arrived in the evening and we drove past on the shuttle bus and I caught a glimpse of it, I was in awe. It's visually impressive, not only the size but the architecture of it. It's solid, full of detail, the top is accompanied by several spires which adds dramatic detail to the gothic style decor. I didn't go up due to time constraints but from what I saw where the entrance is, the steps to go up to the tower are like those inside a castle, narrow and steep so make sure you have good walking shoes/trainers on. Even if you don't go up for the panoramic views, to see it up close is impressive. From the Powder Tower, you are a few mins walk to the Old Town - 10-15 mins depending on how fast you walk/if you stop to look at shops etc.

The Powder Tower is a famous building in Prague you can visit anytime. I went on the second day of a three-day trip, and I opted not to climb the tower. I really feel like I'll be back to Prague again, so I plan on climbing it next time. It was still really nice to visit when the sun was getting lower. I'm sure you'll enjoy The Powder Tower whether you climb it or not.

Built in 1475, the Powder Tower represents the historic connection between the Old and New Towns. Its Gothic architecture and details are truly impressive.
Ruslan M — Google review
It is visually impressive, but for tourists, it is just a tower. There is some reading about the history of the tower for nerds like me in the middle section of the tower. But if it is just for the view, I wouldn't recommend taking 186 steps up. There are other alternatives, such as the Astronomical Clock.
North K — Google review
If you climb to the top, it's crazy! But as soon as you see it, just a few steps from the station, a 15th-century tower stands out among the city's newer buildings. I wonder how different it was before the renovation.

Klementinum is a historic complex located at the eastern end of the Charles Bridge, featuring the Mirror Chapel, Baroque Library, and an Astronomical Tower with an Atlas statue. Originally a Jesuit dormitory in the 16th century, it expanded to include a library, university, and scientific institutions. Guided tours showcase its opulent areas such as the Baroque library adorned with frescoes, Meridian Hall, and the Astronomical Tower offering stunning city views.
if you find yourself wandering through prague, you absolutely have to check out the klementinum. it's this stunning, sprawling baroque complex right by the charles bridge, and honestly, it’s a feast for the eyes and a bit of a trip back in tim-but you need to know a few things to make the most of it. first, and this is crucial practical advice: buy your tickets online in advance! the tours are run on a schedule, and pre-booking will save you from long waits or missing a slot. the main draw, of course, is the absolutely breathtaking baroque library hall, it looks straight out of a movie with towering dark wood bookshelves and incredible ceiling frescoes. here’s the thing, though, a necessary heads-up: you can't actually walk into the library itself-you view it from behind a barrier, which is a bit of a tease, but the view is still spectacular and totally worth seeing. the visit is always a guided tour, and while the guide will speak (usually in english), they also provide printed information sheets in various languages which are super helpful for reading up on the history and significance of each room (like the library or the astronomical tower) while you're in there, giving you a chance to process the details alongside the main narrative. the tour typically takes you through several rooms and ultimately up the astronomical tower. the views of prague from the top are genuinely incredible-a panoramic 360-degree look at the red roofs and the castle. however, here’s a minor let-down from my experience: you don't get a ton of time up there. it’s a pretty tight squeeze, and we barely had a few minutes to snap some photos and take in the view before the guide started ushering us back down, so be ready to enjoy the view quickly! overall, it's a fantastic slice of prague history and architecture, totally worth an hour or so of your time

If you like science, old books, astronomy or astrology, definitely pay this place a visit. The tourguide Natalie is awesome! Very narrow stairs going up but fun. At the top of the tower you can go outside for a 360 view, total tour is 45 minutes so easy on your schedule!

Excellent tour guide. Cm very cool views and background. You only briefly get yo look into the library and do not get to go inside. Lots of steep and narrow steps. If you have a fear of heights, skip this tour.
Rob C — Google review
When you are in Prague this is definitely one for the list. It is stunning! Full of history and the guides are really informative. I would 100% recommend buying tickets beforehand as people were getting turned away on the day if they hadn’t pre booked.

The Baroque Library in the Clementinum is pure magic. 📚✨ Walking into the hall feels like stepping into a painting — the soaring ceilings, ornate frescoes, and endless shelves of antique books are breathtaking. It’s not just a library, it’s a work of art. The guided tour was excellent, weaving together history, architecture, and little details that made the place come alive. Seeing centuries-old globes and manuscripts in such a setting was unforgettable. The view from the Astronomical Tower at the end of the tour is the cherry on top — with all of Prague spread out below. 🌇 If you love history, architecture, or simply want to feel like you’ve traveled back in time, don’t miss this. It’s a true gem of Prague and worth every second of your visit. ***Get tickets in advance and understand that you will be climbing very steep stairs on a circular stairway. If you are afraid of heights I suggest you take caution.
Ashley C — Google review
It’s an absolute must-visit — it’s beautiful, and you wouldn’t expect it from the outside. The tour guide is a very entertaining elderly gentleman with a great sense of humor and outstanding knowledge. He explains the most important facts about the library clearly and concisely. You can even climb up the tower as part of the tour and enjoy a stunning view of Prague — probably the best in the city center.
Danilo T — Google review
I think that the tour was nice, quite short, around 35-40 minutes. There were some non czech speaking people complaining that the tour is in czech - be carefull while booking, there are 2 options, both in czech and english language. Its a “must” to book the tickets before, if you dont like to wait in huge ques 😄 if you have bought the tickets in advance, they will just let you skip the whole line and you are ready to go. :) sometimes it happens they wont let you in after waiting for a long time simply cuz there is no more spots left. (Plus if you wanna save up, buy the tickets at 9:30, they are cheaper). Another thing is, dont expect to walk through the whole library part, as the books need to be kept in a good condition.. There is not only the library to see, you will also get the chance to see the observatory and the rooftop with beautiful view. For me it was overall really nice! The only thing is that the presentation itself could be more fun or just more interesting. Otherwise recommend :)
Laila M — Google review
We arrived at 9:30 in the morning and could only get tickets for the 17:30 tour, so definitely go early if you want to secure a spot. Be prepared for a climb: there are 172 very steep steps (about 80 to reach the library and the rest to the viewpoint). For context, two people in our group dropped out once they saw the stairs. The experience is primarily about reaching the top of the tower for the city view. If you’re expecting a grand library like the Trinity College Library in Dublin or the Austrian National Library in Vienna, this is not that. The hallway before the library has one digital screen and a couple of boards with old, grainy photos of clocks and globes, unfortunately, not detailed enough to really appreciate them. You can’t actually enter the library itself. Instead, the door is opened and you’re kept behind a fence to peek inside. It’s very dark, with just a few dim lights. Most photos you see online are long-exposure, heavily edited shots. I’ve attached some pictures to show how it actually looks (mine are also long-exposure, so keep in mind it’s even darker in person). The highlight is the viewpoint at the top. We went at sunset, which I highly recommend, Prague looked absolutely stunning. As a viewpoint: ★★★★★ As a library (as it’s advertised): ★☆☆☆☆ — very disappointing.

Prague Astronomical Clock

4.7
(88567)
The Prague Astronomical Clock, located on the Southern wall of the Old Town Hall in the Old Town Square, is a medieval timepiece that showcases an impressive display of astronomical and historical features. The clock consists of three main components: an astronomical dial that provides various celestial details and positions of the Sun and Moon; 'The Walk of the Apostles,' which features moving figures representing the Twelve Apostles every hour; and a rotating calendar dial with medallions depicting zodiac signs for each month.
An absolute must see to visit when in Prague. I recently visited for a short break in Sept 2025 and couldn't wait to see this famous, iconic clock. This is a clock like no other, yes you have Big Ben in London, UK but this is on another scale. Whilst the clock itself may not be high, the detail in design and colours, everything pertaining to the figures of the clock is phenomenal. It highlights the astrology of star signs as well as time. It is colourful, ornate, full of attention to design and visually impressive. When I got to the Old Town, I didn't know where to find the clock as I didn't know what side it was on, I soon found it when I saw the gathering crowd to catch the clock show on the hour. I made it just in time, about 15 mins before the clock strike. On the hour, instead of a clock striking chime, your ears are assaulted by a loud, emergency like siren then the clock comes alive with these little figures moving just above the clock. The siren took me by surprised as it sounded like an evacuation alarm rather than cue for the start of a clock show. It's a shame they couldn't have just gone for a clock chime/something more melodic but it is what it is. The show itself was not that exciting but the clock itself is stunning. Even though it was busy, I was still able to get good pictures. It's all about angles, how you position yourself, zoom and without. You can still take good pictures despite the many people there. There started to disperse after the clock show.

The Astronomical Clock is simply amazing. A masterpiece of history and craftsmanship. Watching the clock’s hourly show is magical, especially with the sound of the bells and the figures moving. The details are incredible, and it’s one of those things you have to see in person to appreciate fully. Even though it’s often crowded, the atmosphere around it is unforgettable. A symbol of Prague’s beauty and history absolutely deserving of five stars!
Jaguraov — Google review
The Astronomical Clock is absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit. I recommend doing a little research beforehand to understand how it works, which makes the experience much richer. Try to go outside the showtimes, as they get very crowded with tourists. Visiting at quieter times lets you appreciate the details calmly and take photos without the crowd. The show itself is only worth seeing if you happen to be nearby, but it’s not a must-see.

The Prague Astronomical Clock, located on the southern wall of the Old Town Hall in the heart of Prague, is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and a true marvel of medieval engineering. Installed in 1410, it is the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still in operation. The clock is renowned not only for its age but also for its intricate design and mechanical complexity. It features a stunning dial that displays the position of the sun and moon, zodiacal details, and a calendar with medallions representing the months. Every hour, on the hour, visitors gather to witness the "Walk of the Apostles" a charming mechanical performance where figures of the Apostles and other characters, including Death, emerge and move in a captivating procession. Beyond its technical brilliance, the clock is a symbol of Prague’s rich history and artistic heritage. The craftsmanship is exquisite, with Gothic and Baroque elements blending seamlessly. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an art lover, or simply a curious traveler, the Orloj offers a unique glimpse into the ingenuity of the past. Tip: Arrive a few minutes before the hour to get a good viewing spot for the show, and consider climbing the Old Town Hall tower for a panoramic view of Prague’s stunning skyline.
Yishai S — Google review
Honestly, instead of me giving you all the details, you're going to get a much deeper impression and feel a stronger emotion by visiting this place yourself. The only slight drawback is the number of tourists, but the scenery here is so stunning it completely outweighs that issue. I'm absolutely confident you won't regret your visit. Oh, and one crucial tip: definitely check the weather forecast before you finalize your travel plans!
Jeonghak R — Google review
This astronomical clock, which has been operating since 1410, is one of the most impressive examples of medieval engineering. Its details are even more captivating when seen up close. This clock is located in Prague's main town square and draws a large crowd at all hours of the day. This clock tower, one of the three most special landmarks in Prague, is a must-see.
Ruslan M — Google review
The Astronomical Clock is a must-see in Prague. The hourly mechanical show is short but full of charm, and the details of the clock itself are incredible when you look closely. The surrounding square is lively with cafés, performers, and beautiful architecture, making the experience even better. Go early morning or late night if you want to enjoy the clock without huge crowds. PRO TIP: Incase you want to skip the crowd and get a better view, head to cafe Mozart- Sip on some Mulled wine with the perfect view of the clock. Thank me later 😏
Dylan F — Google review
The Prague Astronomical Clock is absolutely stunning! Standing in front of it is a unique and fascinating experience, there’s something magical about watching the clock come to life every hour. I highly recommend visiting it more than once, as every visit feels special and full of charm. It’s truly one of the must-see attractions in Prague!

The menu features exceptional Italian dishes made with high-quality ingredients, including fresh homemade pastas and succulent meat dishes. This restaurant is a gem of a place. The food and the service were both top tier worldwide. I have been to 46 countries and I try nice restaurants all over. And I was really impressed with this place. Michael was helping me and he was considerate, insightful and guided me during the entire experience. The ricotta gnudi with pecans, black truffle was a blast of flavors. One of the most memorable plate I have had. The taste and presentation were both Top class.

Had a fantastic dinner with a diverse group of 14 colleagues from all over the world. The group menu was well balanced and suited everyone’s tastes. We were seated at a table in the back of the restaurant, which felt like private dining and was a great touch. Service was professional, attentive and seamless throughout the evening. Great wine list and delicious dishes with a creative twist. Highly recommended for groups and food lovers alike.

La Finestra is probably the best Italian restaurant outside Italy we have ever experienced. This is not the pizza-spaghetti-lasagne tourist trap you will find in all cities around the world. This is serious stuff, fantastic tastes and elegantly presented. Impressive wine list. Very warm and professional service. No wonder La Finestra is mentioned in the Michelin guide.

Our favorite meal while visiting Prague. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was wonderful and each dish was nicely presented and delicious. The menu has many great options, I suggest ordering several pastas and mains to share, as each dish was unique. The wine list is also huge and sommelier is available to assist with ordering. Hope to visit again one day.

Delicious! Small portions, overpriced. The service is Almost Good. The waitress poured the drink the way it goes out of the glass, and shi didn't clean the table after that, we had to ask for extra tissue ourselves. She didn't bring an ashtray, but she saw that we needed it. Whe we asked to separate the bill, she just devided it, without checking the position each person took. The portion of tartar is super small, for the price. But the food was really delicious. Can't say that I'll be back. But for one time visit is pretty ok.

Very nice restaurant that serves cuisine from different parts of the world. If you want a change from local food and eat vegetarian, this is a good place. The ambiance is very inviting and the food is tasty. The restaurant can get quite busy and you should make it a point to reserve ahead of time. The staff are very nice and I could see they try to make their best effort to accommodate when you do not reserve. But when they are full, they do not hesitate to inform the guest that all the reservations are full. Definitely a must try place and something you should make sure to plan ahead of time.

Great vegan spot right by old town square. I went first in 2018, and then again now in 2025 during visits to Prague. Remember liking Goulash a lot more my first time than now. A nice place to Czech cuisine for vegetarians. They also have plenty of international cuisine options in their menu. Lovely ambience, great service, nice collection of local Moravian wines etc.

Just arrived in Prague and were looking for a good veg restaurant. This is the place to be. Great food, friendly service and all vegeterian/vegan. The texture and flavours were on point. We enjoyed it so much that we made a reservation immediatly after dinner to come here again. Came a second time on my trip and we had starters (spinach veloute and tofu gras), main courses udon noodles and lasagna. Ordered a goulash extra. The staff is very friendly and nice. Restaurant with unique décor. The menu is very varied with vegan and vegetarian options. We had the black beer goulash and jackfruit burger. The goulash is really creamy and tasty and the burger balanced with a very good mayonnaise. Finally we had the sweet Dubai tart, very chocolatey and tasty to finish a lunch or dinner.

Located near the Rudolfinum, U Rudolfina is a classic Czech pub offering an authentic experience. The arch-ceilinged beer hall serves some of the best-tapped Pilsner Urquell and hearty plates of goulash with dumplings. Genuine czech restaurant. Not a tourist trap. You'll find a lot of locals here, and that is always a good sign. Beer is great. Basically, Pilsner. I tried the duck with beetroot. Duck was cooked to perfection, and beetroot melted in my mouth. The dish also comes with czech chicken dumpling. They were fine, considering I am not that big a fan :)

I ordered smoked ribs on cutting board for 355 Kč. There was around 400-500g of meat on it and normally two people can share it. ---My Opinion---- I was just extraordinarily hungry then but it was a lot of meat as you can see from the photos. You could smell the smoked-smell of the meat as it gets served even before you eat it. The taste was as delicious as the smell. However the meat gets intense after a while and it may be too much. You might be able to eat it along with beer. They also serve mustard, sauerkraut(cabbage pickle), and cucumber pickles on the same plate. The mustard was soo good and was just the sauce needed to freshen the taste of the meat. The meat also suppressed the bitterness of the mustard so they went well together. Pickles(specifically cucumber) were delicious. My friend ordered grilled chicken breasts wtih sun-dried tomatoes and he liked it very much so. The chicken breast were filled inside with the sun-dried tomatoes and they looked exquisite. I tried the dish and liked the taste myself too. There is around 200-250g of meat and my friend was full when he finished his dish. The classic goulash(my other friend ordered) was tasy with its soft meat. It looked fullfilling.

My friend and I wanted to pay seperately (because of different pay methods) and when we asked the waiter to bring us 2 checks, he started to protest and then said that we couldn't pay by card (last 3 days we paid everywhere by card in Prague!!) He then charged us more without giving us the check. I didn't insist on the check because the waiter was rude and making us uncomfortable, but I believe this to be a good tourist trap so they charge more. Anyhow, the food was tasty but because of the waiter I leave one star.

Knocked our socks off! Initially we were confused upon entering if it was truly a buffet experience, but indeed it is once you go to through the back. I don't go to buffets often and found myself piling up my salad plate at the beginning just in case the mains weren't exciting.. of course I was wrong.. everything was amazing. Today there was a delicious pan style pizza bread, delicious pesto zucchini and lovely roasted pumpkin. Truly this place is extremely healthy and nutritious, more than most restaurants. They are extremely generous on the amount of toppings and in general, choices you have every single day. Their vegetables are cooked perfectly, the soup temperature is also just right. Everything is packed with flavor and you will leave full as a tick. Easily my favorite place in Prague, and you should not skip it... Their lattes are also yummy!

(Vegan) food doesn’t have to be bland and tasteless to be considered healthy! I’ve been vegan for 8 years, and this was by far the blandest food I’ve ever had. The staff were great and place looks nice, but unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for how flavorless the food was; especially at those prices.

This place is another amazing gem in central Prague. It offers tranquility amidst the crowded streets. It consists of three parts, all with separate entrances: a cafe, a shop, and a buffet restaurant, there's also an inner courtyard and a garden. I really enjoyed my time here and the food. I had a selection of the buffet, the food was really nourishing and freshly prepared, as well as delicious. The place is spacious and there were no crowds when I visited so I enjoyed eating my food in peace and quiet. The decor is also very nice. Then I bought some vegan stuff from the shop, I was really happy they had vegan yoghurt (the drinkable one) and there was a huge selection of vegan mock foods like cheese and sausages etc. Then I had a hot choc at the cafe, which has nice views of the busy streets and a cosy environment. All in all, a really great place.

This restaurant has fabulous vegan food. You can fill your plate and they weigh it. I had a full plate, a slice of homemade cake and a scoop of homemade ice cream followed by a coffee and it was about 13 Euros. I loved the place and the food so much I went twice so here are the 2 photos of what I selected. You have to go here. It is in Praha 1 near Mustek metro station.

Prague Zoo, also known as Zoo Praha, is a renowned zoo founded in 1931 and located in the picturesque Drahan-Troja Nature Park. Spanning 58 hectares of hilly landscape, it is home to an impressive collection of nearly 700 species, making it one of the largest zoological collections in Europe. The zoo's challenging setting has been utilized to its full potential, providing habitats for over 4000 animals representing over 600 species.
Prague Zoo is truly one of the best zoos I’ve visited! The place is huge, very well-kept, and beautifully designed with lots of greenery and natural enclosures for the animals. There’s such a wide variety of animals, and you can really see how much care goes into their well-being. Walking around never feels boring – from the African savanna to the Indonesian jungle, every area is unique and fun to explore. The zoo is also family-friendly with plenty of spots to rest, grab food, and enjoy the views (especially overlooking the river). Definitely worth spending a full day here when in Prague. Highly recommended!

Prague Zoo is a must-visit. It’s huge, well maintained, and has a wide variety of animals, birds, and reptiles, each in spacious enclosures. My little daughter loves animals and she was delighted here. We bought tickets in advance, which made entry easy. There’s a direct bus if you’re using public transport. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
Vinay K — Google review
Visited on May, 2022 — a sunny Thursday with mild weather and a steady flow of visitors, but everything ran smoothly and was well organized. This zoo is among the best in Europe, absolutely on par with Berlin Zoo. The elephants walking freely in wide green fields perfectly represent how open and natural this place feels. Animals live in large habitats instead of cages, everything looks clean, well maintained, and designed with care. Even geese with chicks were calmly walking around visitors. Getting here is easy: direct bus from the city center, and online tickets (added to Apple Wallet) saved us a long queue. The park is large and hilly, so comfortable shoes are essential, but every area is worth visiting. Several playgrounds, shaded paths, and food stalls make it perfect for families. We had sausages and drinks while enjoying a stunning view of Prague. Calm, organized, and even dog-friendly — a wonderful full-day experience for all ages. I’d happily return on my next trip to Prague; it’s the kind of place that stays with you.

Hands down the best zoo I’ve ever been to. It is so well laid out. There is a lot of grades to climb so you need comfortable shoes. The zoo is well designed in that the animals even when sleeping are visible. Not a lot of room to hide so visitors can usually always see them. They all have an amazing rock wall for the mountain goats. I’ve never seen that before. It’s simply amazing. And be sure to ride the chair lift up the mountain. Scary and fun!

On our last day in Prague we went to the zoo which we read only good things about. And we were not disappointed. It is big, well-maintained and I appreciated that the animals looked healthy and had enough space to move around (both outside and inside). My ultimate happiness was that we were able to see giraffes up close and the elephants ❤️ It looks like a big safari. I recommend to go since they open as you will need the whole day to see it entirely.

Prague Zoo is an absolute must-visit if you’re in the city! I’d recommend pre-booking tickets as it can get busy, but it’s well worth it. The zoo is beautifully laid out with well-cared-for animals and plenty of space to explore. The map is really informative, and I’d highly recommend downloading the Prague Zoo app - it has an interactive map that shows you exactly how to get to each animal enclosure when you click on it, which made getting around so easy. A fantastic day out for all ages - definitely one of Prague’s highlights!

Prague Zoo — an absolute must-see, not only for kids but for adults too! Honestly, we’ve been to 19 zoos across Europe, and until now we were convinced that the one in Vienna was unbeatable. We even used to travel there specifically just to visit the zoo. But Prague completely changed our minds — this place is simply next level! 🐘🦒 It’s not only about the incredible variety of animals, but also about how beautifully and humanely everything is organized. Every enclosure feels like a small piece of real nature — not cages, but open landscapes, almost like mini-savannas. You can tell how well the animals are treated: they all look healthy, active, and calm. Everything is clean, green, and perfectly maintained. It feels more like a nature reserve than a zoo. 💚 Our honest opinion: this is the best zoo we’ve ever visited. If you’re in Prague — don’t miss it! 100% recommended.

During our visit to Prague, we spent a day at the Prague Zoo — and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! It was easily the best zoo experience we’ve had in Europe so far. The zoo is beautifully designed, spacious, and very well maintained. Everything was extremely clean, from the walking paths to the enclosures and even the public toilets. The animals appeared to be very well cared for, with plenty of space and thoughtfully designed habitats that closely resemble their natural environments. It was clear that the staff take great pride in the welfare of the animals. There’s a wide variety of animals to see, including some rare and endangered species we had never seen in other zoos. Our children especially loved the elephant valley and the penguin exhibit. We also took the chairlift up to the top of the zoo, which gave us a great view of the area and made exploring even more fun. Another big plus was the number of food options throughout the zoo — from quick snacks to full meals, and all reasonably priced. There were also lots of shaded areas to rest and plenty of benches, which made the visit very comfortable, even with kids. The public toilets were also clean and easy to find, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Prague Zoo to anyone visiting the city — especially families. It’s a full-day activity and absolutely worth it!

Královská obora Stromovka is a sprawling park with a rich history dating back to the 13th century when it served as a royal hunting ground. Despite being heavily damaged by the 2002 Prague flood, this park has been restored and now offers playgrounds, picnic areas, jogging paths, ponds, fields, and plenty of shade trees. The park's name "Stromovka" translates to "tree place," reflecting the abundance of trees within its grounds.
The best Prague park for me. Even if it is overcrowded, it doesn't bother and you can spend here long hours. Pets friendly, well maintained, good refreshment points and location near Vystaviste, where something happens anytime. And you can visit newly reopened planetarium here as well.

Calm and peaceful park located in Prague 7 (Prague’s artistic neighborhood). Perfect for a sunny sunday walk for relaxing. There’s some ponds and beautiful clean green spaces. There’s also a big theme park few steps away and sometimes they’re doing some events.

Perfect place for meeting new people and as well its off-leash area allows the dog to roam around and also meet new friends. There are so many paths and so much space in this Prague gem of a park. Nestled in the park is a space exploration center and the amusement park connected provides distant sounds of people having so much fun. We often visit this place to have puppy picnics and quality time in the park. If i say the name of the park my dogs spins from happiness because he has so much fun at this place and recognizes the name of the location. Great for autumn photography and socializing. Training the dog here is great

Curry Palace is a great restaurant that excels in the Indian cuisine department. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect for reliving Indian spice. Vegetarians are welcome here with open arms, and the food is amazing!
I ordered the lamb kulcha and the lamb biryani. Both were incredible with rich flavor. The service is amazing, and the size of the meal is big, I took half for take away!

Very expensive compared to the waiter behavior and atmosphere, you have to order just the sauce for 270ck, and then you must order the rice separately, don’t waste your money, non professional staff

The food was very good! We had Aloo Gobi, Korma and another traditional dish. Everything was super good and the portion size was perfect. We even got a dessert for free at the end. The service was very kind and nice as well. Prices were normal, not too pricey and not very cheap. We paid 23 Euros each.

Vegetarians welcome indeed.

Restaurant
Field Restaurant is an upscale dining establishment located near the Jewish Quarter of Old Town in Prague. Since opening in 2015, it has garnered a Michelin star for its modern Czech cuisine crafted by chef Radek Kasparek. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to create imaginative dishes such as rabbit, foie gras, veal, and game.
An unforgettable dining experience at Field Field delivers on every level — from the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. The food was simply exceptional. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, showcasing seasonal ingredients in creative and thoughtful ways. You can really taste the care and craftsmanship behind every plate. The tasting menu was a highlight — every course brought a new surprise, and the pacing was just right. Field is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be such a joy — not just for the food, but for the entire experience. Highly recommended for you want to treat yourself to something truly memorable.

Incredible experience of a Michelin Star restaurant. We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed this spot. From the time we arrived till we left the wait staff was incredibly attentive and the chefs were so great to watch. They all seemed to be in tune with one another and worked very well together. They never seemed to be overwhelmed or frustrated. You could tell it was a team effort and they all seemed to love what they did. The environment was not as uptight as we expected which made the experience even more fun to sit back and be guided through exquisite cuisine. They made jokes, had incredible table side manners, and were a joy to spend the ending with. The location was quiet around the outside, almost mysterious which made it even more “exclusive” feeling. And the prices were not over the top. We ordered 3 short menus, 2 normal, 1 vegetarian which was very appreciated for our party. We did not do the wine pairing, I couldn’t convince my other guest to do it but it would have been even more elevated! The lamb and kale salad were the best I’ve ever had. We loved the crayfish dish as well - the shot was so fun! We will remember this for a lifetime and will tell our friends about it. Thank you for a great experience.

What an amazing dining experience with beautiful presentation, unique taste & texture! The short tasting menu is about 2 hours. We opted for non-alcoholic drink pairing and Wine B pairing. Each drink complimented the dish very well. Our waiter & servers were attentive and friendly.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Field, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish — a journey rather than a meal. Every dish told a story, beautifully crafted and perfectly balanced. The wine pairings were outstanding and complemented each course flawlessly. The staff were beyond professional — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Unfortunately, I began feeling unwell during the evening due to exhaustion and a headache, so I couldn’t finish the full tasting menu. The team immediately showed understanding and kindness, even offering a generous discount since I couldn’t complete the experience. It’s rare to find such empathy and authenticity in fine dining. I will absolutely return on my next visit to Prague to finish the story The Field began. Highly recommended — an unforgettable place. 🌿✨

We enjoyed a six-course degustation with matching wines at Field, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The seasonal menu, focused on the best of Czech ingredients, showcased incredible creativity and balance. Watching the sauce flambéed tableside added a theatrical touch that made the meal even more memorable. My favourite dish was the fallow deer with mushroom, truffle, and chokeberry — rich, earthy, and perfectly executed. The service was outstanding: professional, warm, and perfectly paced. Every detail felt carefully considered without being pretentious. Overall, Field delivers a refined yet grounded Michelin-star experience that celebrates local flavours in a contemporary way. Highly recommended.

Last night we enjoyed the tasting menu with a matching wine pairing. From start to finish, it was a true culinary experience. The service was incredibly warm and friendly, with genuine interest in the guests at our table. This warm and relaxed atmosphere didn't detract from the fantastic, smooth, and efficient service. The food was beyond sublime. The wines were delicious. Highly recommended!

I went for the lunch menu, each course was stellar and extremely well balanced in their flavours. It was mi first Michelin star restaurant (I'm from Prague so I always wanted to try that here as first) and it was really wow experience, it reminded me some mix between czech and danish cousine. I loved all the meals and their complex taste, even though they were from somehow simple and really natural ingredients. My favourite was defo the fish, lamb and sweetbread. Not mentioning, it is finally some of these restaurants, that offer full veggie option - my partner looked also super satisfied with this one. Moreover, I really loved the non-alcoholic pairing, so nice not to be pushed to have alcoholic drinks and what more, for me it was even much more tasty and with really unexpected taste from some of the drinks. The visual presentation I don't have to even mention, it was perfect (just one detail - maybe I would already change some of the glass plates for foie gras, who looked bit used already). But what I loved the most about whole the experience was the staff - really patient and perfect service. They were able to manage all the special requirements (regarding the food, regarding some more quiet table - we were celebrating some special occasion) and what more they really caught the time when to approach us, change the meals and etc. Everything nicely explained and all of our questions were answered. And generally we felt more than welcomed there. Never met such a professional approach.

Country Life, located at Melantrichova 15 in Prague, is a family-owned business that has been pioneering the organic food market in the Czech Republic since 1991. Initially starting as a health food store, it has now expanded to include natural cosmetics and products from its own organic farm and bakery. Architectural Buildings
Dancing House, also known as Tancici dum, is a modern architectural marvel located in Prague. Designed by Czech architect Valdo Milunic and Canadian Frank Gehry, this unique building stands out amidst the city's centuries-old architectural styles. Resembling two dancers in motion, it features dynamic and static elements that give the impression of a female dancer swaying with her male partner.
We thought it was quite a cool place to visit. It's a controversial building that many do not like because of its deconstructivist style which goes against pretty much everything architecturally in the classical city of Prague. Great views though of that part of Prague right on the eastern bank of the Vlatava River. The observation platform at the very top is not disabled friendly. The ticket price is a relatively modest CZK150/person. Purchase of a drink from the Glass Bar does NOT gain you free admission to the observation deck! (Well, it didn't for us when we visited in early July 2025). But overall, we thought it was worth a visit. Unique building design. Great views from the observation deck. Friendly staff. A modest entrance fee. Top tip: the toilets at the top of the building are FREE. 🥳🥂🎊🎉. It's expensive to pee in Prague ☹️.

Special modern architecture in Prague. The Dancing House (Tančící dům), located on the Vltava River embankment in Prague, is one of the city’s most iconic examples of contemporary architecture. Designed by Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunić, it was constructed between 1992 and 1996 on a site left vacant after World War II bombing. The building is a striking example of deconstructivism, contrasting with the surrounding Baroque, Gothic, and Art Nouveau styles of Prague. Its design symbolizes a pair of dancers—Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers—represented by two distinct towers. The glass tower, curving dynamically, is referred to as “Ginger,” while the solid, upright stone tower is “Fred.” This duality expresses motion versus stability, and modernity versus tradition. Structurally, the building uses 99 concrete panels of varying shapes, combined with a steel framework supporting the curved glass façade, demonstrating technical innovation for its time. Initially controversial for disrupting the city’s historic harmony, the Dancing House has since become a celebrated landmark and was even featured on a Czech 20-koruna coin. Today, it functions as an office building with a rooftop restaurant and gallery space, symbolizing Prague’s openness to modern architectural expression while respecting its layered urban identity.

Fabulous pieces of architecture. Love the shapes and the reference to Fred & Ginger! Take the lift to floor 7 and then a few more steps to the cafe. Had a lovely hot chocolate and took it out on to the viewing platform. Wonderful views of the river and castle. Fabulous juxtaposition of the old and new. Would highly recommend.

The observatory rooftop in Prague is an amazing spot to visit, offering one of the most beautiful views in the city. Its location is excellent, easy to reach, and perfectly positioned to overlook both the city and the river. The panoramic view is simply breathtaking, especially during sunset, when the entire skyline glows with warm colors. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, which adds to the pleasant experience. It is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy a drink, and take in the incredible scenery. Whether you are a visitor or a local, this rooftop is definitely worth stopping by to experience Prague from a different and unforgettable perspective.
Gattobianco1987 — Google review
It's an interesting and beautiful building. I can't comment much on the interior since I didn't go inside, but it was nice to be there. I recommend visiting this building while visiting Prague. If you're a photogenic person, you'll love it.
Ruslan M — Google review
Went inside to the glass bar which is right at the top. For a fee, you can go outside at the top on the terrace. The glass bar is very small, so yes there is a nice view but it's very crammed and people are eager to come in. There is a restaurant a floor or so below. On the ground floor is a cafe. No fee to enter. It's nice to pop in but it's enough to see it from outside, probably. Quirky building to see.
P S — Google review
Amazing rooftop view! You can grab a drink and relax on the outdoor terrace, such a nice spot to enjoy the city from above. The design is modern and a bit luxurious, with a great atmosphere. Definitely a place you should check out when you’re in Prague!
Ana-Maria B — Google review
The Dancing House is one of the most unique and fascinating buildings in Prague. Designed by Vlado Milunić and Frank Gehry and completed in 1996, it was built on a site destroyed during WWII and became a symbol of the city’s rebirth. The two towers, inspired by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, really look like they’re dancing, and the mix of curves, glass and deconstructivist shapes makes it stand out from everything around it. There are also some great anecdotes, like the 99 different concrete panels used to support the structure. A must-see if you love architecture or just want something different from the classic Prague landmarks.

The National Theatre, also known as Narodni Divadlo in Czech, is a significant cultural institution in Prague. It holds a rich artistic tradition and is considered the Alma Mater of Czech Opera. The venue showcases nationally sponsored new and classical ballet, opera, and theater performances. Situated just a five-minute walk from the hotel, this historical late 19th-century building boasts magnificent interiors that are truly captivating.
The modern ballet was OK. Even good at times. But really I just want to say what a beautiful venue this is. The decor is classy, atmospheric, and historic. Every surface is gorgeous. Also, the seating was really great. We were 15th row center (only 16 rows total), but the view was still perfect. It's a really intimate space. Whatever the show, I highly recommend an evening in this beautiful venue.

The façade of the National Theatre in Prague is a Neo-Renaissance masterpiece that captivates at first sight. Richly adorned with allegorical sculptures and figures from Slavic mythology, it reflects the grandeur and cultural spirit of the nation. The golden canopy and the dome covered with green and gold tiles shimmer beautifully in the sunlight, creating a striking contrast with the city around it. It’s impossible to walk by without stopping to admire every detail of this architectural gem.

The Old Town Bridge Tower, a stunning Gothic structure dating back to the 14th century, stands proudly at one end of the iconic Charles Bridge. With its grand arched gateway and intricate ornamentation, it captures the essence of medieval architecture. While many visitors admire it from afar as they stroll across the bridge, few realize that this gem can be explored further.
Amazing and romantic experience on the bridge, if you get to find on left hand side the old men doing caricatures that is completing the experience. The Charles Bridge in Prague is truly one of the most magical places in the city. Whether you're visiting during the early morning mist or catching the golden hues of sunset, the atmosphere is nothing short of enchanting. Walking across the historic stones, surrounded by Baroque statues and the gentle flow of the Vltava River below, you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. What makes the experience even more romantic and memorable is the vibrant life along the bridge. Musicians fill the air with soulful tunes, street performers entertain with their unique talents, and artists bring the bridge to life with their creativity. If you're lucky, you’ll stumble upon the old men doing caricatures on the left-hand side — a charming and nostalgic touch that completes the experience. Watching them sketch brings a sense of timeless artistry, and getting your own portrait done is a fun, personal souvenir to take home. As day turns into night, the view of Prague Castle illuminated in the distance is breathtaking. The bridge becomes a living postcard, buzzing with emotion, history, and charm. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple in love, or a family exploring the city, the Charles Bridge offers a romantic and unforgettable slice of Prague.

Old Town Bridge Tower is a stunning Gothic gateway to Charles Bridge, offering one of the best panoramic views in Prague. The architecture is impressive up close, with intricate details that reflect its medieval history. A must-visit for photographers and anyone who loves city views.

The bridge is cool, lots of statues & u can go into the tower. It costs to go all the way to the top but it was worth it. Near the end of the bridge are some shops. One was the Ice Bar. The entire bar & room is made of ice. You get a warm poncho & gloves to wear & your 1st drink is included in the price! The 2nd drink didn't cost much & was better than the 1st. It had carved chairs & other items in the room. The drinks were served in a block ice with the center drilled out. So much fun! There was also a robotic bar where robots made your drinks. It was also fun & the drinks were good. In the back they had shots of liquor they sprayed into a balloon so when u "drank" it you were lightly misting your mouth with air & liquor. Also fun!

The Old Town Bridge Tower is iconic as it lies entrance to the famous Charles Bridge in Prague. You cannot miss it. The imposing tower stands out with its gothic architecture and is visually impressive. I visited recently this year in Sept 2025 and it was heaving with people. Whilst I didn't go up the tower, I appreciated the exterior of it. It is very big and visually pleasing to the eye. There is an information plaque that tells you about the history of the tower which is insightful. Be patient as there are many people, well when I visited and this was Sept. You can still take good photos but you will need to angle yourself in the right position and click FAST! Sometimes its good to have "some" people in your pictures just for perspective.

You could see the Charles Bridge and the prague castle at the same time and especially in the evening the view of the setting sun is stunning🤩🌅 The price is a bit high, but I would say the view is worth it, especially in the evening! It seems that you can also buy the tickets in advance, however we were able to buy them directly before going up without any waiting time🕦 You should be aware that there is a lot of stairs climbing though🙃

Very nice tower at the entrance of the bridge. You have the opportunity to walk up the bridge and get a good view of the city. You get a great view of the bridge that you do not really get elsewhere. The view of the palace is also great. No need to worry about the ticket. It is easily available and there really isn’t a wait.

A beautiful Gothic tower at the entrance of Charles Bridge. The details and architecture are stunning, and the view from the top is amazing. A perfect spot to enjoy Prague’s old charm and take great photos.

The Tower Bridge presented a stunning night city view visual experience as dusk settled, however, there are REALLY a lot of visitors, heavily crowded. And, depending on the site condition, you'll may or may not be able to find a restroom, even if you're willing to pay.

A lively and spacious mall right in the heart of Prague! I visited on a regular day and unexpectedly stumbled upon a beautiful live singing moment inside — it made the place feel so vibrant and full of life. Great mix of local and international stores, clean food court, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Definitely more than just a shopping spot — you might just find a little magic here too. ✨
Akanksha R — Google review
I really like Nový Smíchov. It has everything in one place – lots of shops, plenty of food options, and even a cinema. Parking is great too, with plenty of spaces and not too expensive, which makes it very convenient. The mall is always clean, easy to reach by metro or tram, and just a nice place to spend time.
Vlatko F — Google review
Nový Smíchov Shopping Center is decent but nothing special. It’s conveniently located near the metro and tram stops, which makes it easy to reach, and there’s a good variety of shops, from clothing and electronics to cafés and restaurants. However, it can get very crowded, especially on weekends, and it sometimes feels a bit chaotic. The layout isn’t the easiest to navigate, and the air inside can feel a little stuffy when it’s busy. The food court offers a nice selection. Overall, it’s a good place if you need to shop or grab a quick meal, but don’t expect a particularly relaxed or upscale atmosphere. It does the job, but there’s room for improvement in comfort and organization.

This is a modern shopping mall with many well-known stores, It’s easy to navigate and not complicated to walk around, the food court on the upper floor is well organized and clean, the location is very convenient, whether you’re coming by public transport or driving your own car.

I visited this shopping center once on vacation in Czechia and really enjoyed it. It has a nice mix of regular shops, is clean, easy to find, and perfect for families—kids loved the play areas. Parking and food were convenient, and it wasn’t too crowded. Definitely worth a visit!"

Loads of shops, loads of places to eat and I nice atmosphere throughout. A huge Tesco for anyone that wants to take food to cook at their hotel, or for snacks and drinks. The shopping centre, overall, is very “high-end” with plenty of designer shops and boutiques.

Perched atop Petrin Hill in Prague, the Strahov Monastery is a medieval complex founded in 1143. Despite enduring damage from various sources over the years, including fires and wars, the monastery has been meticulously restored. The site features a stunning Baroque church, a vast library with an impressive collection of medieval manuscripts and world globes, as well as a theological hall adorned with intricate frescoes.
The Strahov Monastery is a beautiful and atmospheric place to visit. The basilica is stunning, with breathtaking ceiling frescoes, richly decorated altars, and an overall sense of grandeur balanced by peace and calm. Walking through the church you feel surrounded by history, devotion, and incredible artistry. A must-see part of the monastery complex and a real highlight of Prague.
Anthony F — Google review
The monster had a great library, you can visit it's vestibule which is very nice (tickets are required) and also a gallery, basilica and a brewery. You can enter the basilica for free but you'll be able to see it only from the entrance. The brewery is a working restaurant with great beers and home made gin. The monster is surrounded by gardens and park.
Dany K — Google review
Monastery is free, while the library and art gallery is paid, while the ticket office is in old small chapel. Monastery is really nice, but unfortunately we could only see it at the entrance through the bars, don't know if it's open normally but vault with all of the paintings are really gorgeous so it was a shame. The library is located on the right side from the entrance (the sign suggests it's for the art gallery but that's at the end of the library) and there are actually two next to each other. There are paintings on the cellings but you can't see much, since you can only view it through the doors, which is most likely to protect the books, however makes it really hard to appreciate them. There are exhibit in between presenting some books, old coins etc. which are actually more interesting.
Maciej P — Google review
One less touristic places to visit while in Prague. I was expecting the place to be full of people but it was actually the opposite. Which made it more relaxing and more enjoyable. You could take as many time as you want viewing everything without a huge queue behind you. I don't know if it's always like this or maybe i was just lucky.
Trishie S — Google review
Strahov Abbey has a lot to offer. Take a look at the old shelves of a beautiful library hidden inside the monastery complex, go to a basilica, and of course, try their famous craft beer. And what a stunning view of the city!
Maria K — Google review
This was a fantastic experience. The library blew me away-- the painting on the ceiling was breathtaking. And the gallery was spectacular. I'm really glad I got the chance to visit. Next time I hope to have a guided tour.
Jody T — Google review
The library is accessible only with a paid tour reserved in advance online. We bought our tickets in the automatic ticket machine and didn't see any information stating that the library will not be accessible - on the contrary, it was on the list. In fact, we could only have a peak through the open doors. Maybe we missed this information somewhere, but anyway it was not clearly apparent and we felt misled.
Catherine — Google review
Meh----- Library is simply a room you're not allowed into. you can stand at the door (if there's room) and take photos - I've added some to save you bother (feel free to download them and pass them off as your own and save yourself some pennies). A long walk up a steep hill to see an ornate church (of which you will have passed many better on route), a library you can't go in and drink the same beer you can get at the bottom of the hill.

Delicious food and great service. Consider turning down the volume of the music. We had the barbecue dinner with chicken, shrimp and salmon. All perfectly cooked.

What a waste of a beautiful restaurant in a particular building... what started as a nice greeting to this beautiful restaurant turned into once of my worst experiences starting with a very rude waiter and overly salty overcooked meat. Let me start with the waiter who was always in a rush... didn't hear my order so i had to repeat everything multiple times and of course he was annoyed (wow). We get our starter so I politely ask for two plates and some bread( this is how it should go... you eat in a plate...) the waiter goes and 15 min later no sign of the plates nor the bread... the starter Was on the table with no sign of plates or bread. I call the waited to remind him to bring the plates and surprisingly he replies with the rudest comment ever: i don't have the plates in my pocked you need to wait. I am busy just wait. I tell him that he has been going back and forth for 15 minutes he can just bring the plates so we can eat and he replies: you need to wait when im free i will bring the platter. Shocked i ask for the manager and he replies: i am the manager you wait. So i go and ask for the real manager who turned out to be another person who was very nice and apologized for his colleagues misconduct and said that he is passing through hard times (well not my fault no?) He offered us 10% discount.. a scoop of ice cream and ticket to visit the terrace. Very disappointed by this place... as we say in french : dommage. Also the food was not so good especially the meat which was overly salty... the potatoes were ice cold and overcooked. Thank you for the manager David though for his professionalism.

Very very very RUDE service. Food was good. But you are paying not just for food and place, but also experience. Unfortunately it was not a good one. The waiter only start being “nicer” because we did spent almost 9k czk that night + Tip! Out of all fine dining restaurants ive been to, this is the worst.
Elina B — Google review
Restaurant in a very famous building in the city centre of Prague. That pretty much says it all. Prices are really high and the food is quite decent but I expected a little bit more. I would say if you put all things together and take it as an “experience” you can actually enjoy your time here. Staff is really nice and the view of Prague Castle is breathtaking. You can see for yourselves!
Vojtěch K — Google review
Atmosphere was not a pleasant environment to be in. The restaurant was far too bright and the acoustics were really bad so everything echoed. The bar was very very limited. They only offered the few drinks on their menu. No standard cocktails (not on menu). Our waiter had fantastic energy but he seemed new to the job and to be the only 1 of 2 people working so service was slow. I feel like it could be a great restaurant if it hired some more people and fixed the atmosphere. It was tough to pay attention to food because the rest of the experience was off.

we had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant in Prague. The freshness of the food was truly impressive and the flavors were well-balanced and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Prague

Cafe Slavia is a classic European-style cafe located in Prague, offering Czech and international dishes in a mirrored dining room with live piano music. Situated next to the National Theater and overlooking the river, this historic establishment has been frequented by Czech artistic luminaries such as Vaclav Havel and Bedrich Smetana.
Cafe Slavia in Prague is a truly charming and iconic spot. The interior has a classic, elegant atmosphere that makes you feel like stepping back in time, with large windows overlooking the Vltava River and Prague Castle. The coffee and desserts are excellent, rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s a perfect place to relax, enjoy a leisurely afternoon, or just soak in the historic surroundings. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Whether you’re a coffee lover or just looking for a unique place to unwind, Cafe Slavia is definitely a must visit in Prague.

A spacious and elegant café with large windows overlooking the Vltava River. Perfectly located right across from the National Theatre – you couldn’t ask for a better spot. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that timeless, slightly romantic feel that makes you want to linger. I had bread with duck and pickles – good, very good! Perfect with a cup of coffee and the pleasant hum of conversation all around.
Albert E — Google review
Café Slavia is one of those places where you sit down, look around, and immediately think: “Yes, this is the spot where I’ll pretend, I’m a famous writer while sipping wine.” The place is wide, airy, and has that classy old-school luxury vibe—but not the intimidating kind, more like “sit back and enjoy life” kind. And the location? Oh, simply perfect. Literally great view to the lovely Vltava river, and with those giant glass windows you get a postcard view while enjoying your food. It feels like the city is performing a show just for you. We visited at a crowded time, yet the staff were friendly, sharp, and somehow managed to keep everything organized without losing the smile on their faces. Our waitress, unfortunately can't remember her name, was not only pretty but also gave us golden advice on what to order. We went for a traditional Czech chicken meal (her suggestion), and it was absolutely delicious—comfort food with character. The white wine her advice also)), was perfect even am taking my glass outside to smoke and back to my seat cos it is a loss if can't smoke with that wine. I had already heard a lot about Café Slavia n Iraq, because this is the place where the great Iraqi poet Mohammad Mahdi Al-Jawahiry spent nearly 30 years of his life while living in Prague. Sitting there, you can almost feel the history and imagine him writing with the same beautiful river view in front of him. Order time was reasonable. Overall, Café Slavia gave us that warm mix of history, good food, and genuine service. Definitely a spot to put on your “must visit” list in Prague. I wished to stay more days in Prague, to spend more time at this cafe..
Montaser — Google review
Café Slavia is one of the most iconic spots in Prague, located right across from the National Theatre with a great view of the Vltava River and the old town. The place has a real old-Prague charm — marble, mirrors, waiters in white shirts, and a grand piano. You can really feel the history here. Many famous Czech artists and politicians used to come, and their portraits are still hanging on the walls. I stopped by for coffee and dessert. Everything was tasty, nicely served, and the staff was polite. Prices are a bit high, but that’s expected for a place like this. If you’re visiting Prague, it’s worth coming here at least once to enjoy the view and the classic atmosphere of this legendary café.

Brewery
The Strahov Monastery Brewery, located atop Petrin Hill in Prague, has a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Originally founded by King Vladislav II in 1142, the brewery was modernized by Abbot Kaspar Questenberg in 1698. Although it ceased operation in 1907, it was fully restored and reopened as a craft brewery in 2000. The site includes a courtyard for enjoying beer on sunny days, the St.
This is a unique brewery located next to a monastery. You can find unfiltered beer. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for enjoying a drink and a meal. The ribs were especially delicious! The prices were also very reasonable, which made it even better. (Beer looks bit empty, it’s because I couldn’t wait to sip as soon as I received 😋)

📍Place: located up in the castle District, it's a very cool, modern environment which still keeps the old vibes. They have a seats for drinking, eating and outside as well - all with great atmosphere. 🍺 Beer: it's an expensive place, beers are 0.4l or 0.2l, and they cost 89-99 CZK. But it's very good quality, and their hazy IPA Cherry sour ale layered mix is a game changer. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: servers are nice, smiling all the time. They accept card and cash as well.
Viktor L — Google review
Came here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend who has been here a few weeks prior and we really enjoyed our time. The beer was very good and reasonably priced and the vibe inside was nice as well. For an appetizer we got the pretzels and beer cheese, and to be honest the beer cheese was not that good, not sure I would recommend getting it. I also got the beef goulash and I highly recommend getting that, delicious. The atmosphere outside in the monastery was great as well. Couldn’t be happier with our experience minus the beer cheese!

The beer was really delicious and great! The food was excellent too! The restroom is in the basement, so you have to walk a bit, but it's clean. It might be a bit uncomfortable as you have to share tables. But the beer tasted so fantastic that everything else was fine!😉

Hidden gem but seems like it's not so hidden after all :P We walked in around 6.30pm and got seated in about 15 mins but it got super busy after that. So maybe book in advance, or go early (I don't know if they do reservations). We had to share a table with another couple. The beers are amazing. The atmosphere is brilliant and the staff is great too. We were recommended the beer cheese mousse and it was fantastic. SO DAMN GOOD! We also had the goulash soup (I ate about 70% of it and then discovered a bee/big fly in it :P and the server apologised and quickly took it back but it was peak summer time so I didn't make a fuss - the soup wasn't added to our bill). For mains we had the grilled cauliflower with hummus etc. It was good. All the food was great! The place itself was amazing and the walk within the monastery is amazing (the view is great!) Would 10/10 recommend. Visited in June 2025

This bar is inside a monastery and they brew their own beer, especially known for their dark one. The dark beer is good and smooth, even though you can find better dark beers in other spots around Prague. The gold beer was nice, and the regular one was also good. The onion soup was honestly the star of the meal. Super flavorful, rich, warm, and they serve it with little bread pieces topped with melted cheese that make it even better. We also tried the pork ribs, which were pretty good. They come with barbecue sauce, a sour yogurt cream, and a sweet honey-style sauce, and the meat was tender. The smashed potatoes with onion weren’t my favorite, they had a bit of an acidic taste. The service here was excellent. They were attentive, explained things well, and made good suggestions. It’s also the perfect stop before or after visiting the castle. If this review was helpful, leave a 💛

Went in here for lunch at 12 oclock. Very quiet but really nicely laid out with the feel of a German Beer Keller. There's a few tables outside but it's very busy so opted for inside. The wife had Cherry Beer and I opted for a Chocolate beer. There was so much selection. We are here and had Goulash with bread dumplings and sizzling sausages with trimmings. Got to say I love hot horseradish sauce. I tried a dark ale afterwards and it didn't disappoint. There is a long menu but beware, some are really strong. I can imagine it's boisterous in the evening.

Vyšehrad is a historical fortress complex situated on a hill overlooking the Vltava River, offering a peaceful oasis with stunning views of Prague. Visitors can explore the medieval walls, visit the Basilica of St. Peter and Paul, and stroll through Vyšehrad Park to enjoy its unique atmosphere. The local cemetery is the final resting place of renowned Czech personalities. According to legend, Vyšehrad was the first seat of Czech kings, adding to its historical allure.
Vyšehrad was one of my favorite places in Prague. It’s quiet, peaceful, and full of history. The old fortress, the church, and the cemetery are beautiful, and the views of the Vltava River and the city are amazing. I really enjoyed walking around the gardens and walls – it feels less crowded than Prague Castle but just as impressive. A must-visit if you want history, culture, and great views all in one place.

Was not prepared for the beauty and peacefulness that was here. Absolutely stunning views of the city from the walls. The gothic spires of the Basilica, tower over the well kept graveyard. Many little cafes selling warm drinks - Grog being one of them that is a hot cherry liquor 🍒

What a lovely place. We were super lucky to have very sunny weather while being in the fortress. It was so calm and fresh. I believe I preferred this less popular attraction over even the castle of Prague. I would definitely recommend not missing this gem.

Vyšehrad is a peaceful escape in Prague, ideal for anyone wanting a break from the busy tourist spots. The park is full of history — old gates, walls, small chapels, and a calm atmosphere. The impressive Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, in neo-Gothic style, stands at the heart of it all; entry is paid. Next to it, the Vyšehrad Cemetery holds the graves of many Czech artists and notable figures. From the fortress walls, you get a beautiful panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset.

What a beautiful place! Similar to National Trust Parks back in the U.K... stunning scenery & views over the river & city. Lovely place to walk with greenery and the historical fortress walls and the church . We visited in the afternoon, and it wasnt busy at all. It was a refreshing change to be away from the hustle & bustle of the city. A bonus that we caught the sunset too. Highly recommemd a visit.

A lovely and less tourist-packed place only a few minutes away from old town with metro. It is an ancient fortied hilltop with a rich history - the local princes ruled from here before they moved to Prague castle. It was largely destroyed in the wars of the 17th century. Nowadays it's more like a walled park with some old buildings and fortifications and it also contains the neo-gothical basilica. Nice views of the river and much less tourists than in the old town - definitely worth visiting!

A must go if you’re visiting Prague. There’s a very cool medieval vibe, lots of history, and great views from the river and the city. It is free to roam around (except the church). Even though is a bit morbid, the cemetery is quite interesting and there’s a lot of historical characters from Czech history there

If your interest has been piqued by any of the pictures, I would highly recommend you attend. Most of the ground floor is occupied by concessions, so you can take a look there too if you're discrete (or need of a lot of refreshment).

This is a "must-do". My husband and I just loved it. I think it is one of the most beautiful interiors in all of the Czech Republic. Our tour guide was excellent. Her love for her country and being proud of her Czech culture enhanced the tour. The English tours especially book up quickly so make this an early stop so you can see what days and times are available. The times vary depending on the day of the week.

We have seen the building before but joined the tour for the first time this time. It was really worth it. All the rooms have amazing decorations and I especially liked the concert hall and mayor’s hall with Mucha’s paintings. The tour was also very helpful to learn about the history of the building.

I had the pleasure of attending a Prague Music Orchestra concert here, and it was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The architecture of the hall itself is stunning — elegant, historic, and designed in a way that makes the music feel alive. The details in the interior reflect the city’s artistic heritage, and the acoustics allow every note to resonate clearly. It’s one of those places where the space becomes part of the performance. The music program was thoughtfully curated, moving from Mozart’s joyful Eine kleine Nachtmusik to the lyrical Largo of Dvořák’s New World Symphony. Each piece felt perfectly suited to the venue. The orchestra performed with passion and precision, and their interpretation captured both the grandeur of the classics and the intimacy of chamber music. A must-visit for anyone who loves music and architecture. The combination of setting and sound makes this concert hall an unforgettable cultural experience in Prague.

The municipal house is from from the first years of the 20th century. Beautiful building built in Art Nouveau style. The building has a rich history: the palace of the Bohemian kings used to be here, but it was abandonded centuries ago and demolisehd to make way for the municipal house. The czhechoslovakian independence declaration was made here after WWI. Inside is a famous concert hall

Easy one of the most beautiful places in Prague. Here the Czechoslovak republic was founded in 1918. Beautiful rooms in different styles, I enjoyed every single one. Yes, the entrance ticket is a little bit on a pricy side but it is definitely worth it

A beautiful art deco building, with lovely restaurants and bars. We went downstairs to Tretters American cocktail bar, and what a fantastic place! Watching the 2 bar tenders making all the drinks was great. Amazing staff, amazing drinks. And actually not expensive. Highly recommend going here for a cocktail or 4!

The building and the atmosphere was great. The musicians and the opera singers were amazing. But the ballet dancers it says that the soloists will be from the National Opera but they were very very bad. They are probably a good distraction and good for advertising the concert to say that there are also ballet dancers included but honestly the musicians and the opera singers were more than enough. Despite the dancers everything was great. Tip: even if they offer you place to the side it is never a good idea. Choose middle seats (even if they are further away from the stage, they always are the better option)

Specialty Museums
Národní Muzeum, also known as the National Museum, is a grand institution established in 1818 with a diverse array of natural science and history exhibits. The museum's origins are tied to the contributions of Czech aristocrats and the pivotal role played by Count Kaspar Maria von Sternberg, a prominent Bohemian botanist. Housed in an impressive neo-Renaissance building at Wenceslas Square, it stands as a symbol of Czech national revival.
I visited the National Museum both inside and outside and it was an incredible experience! The exterior of the building is grand and majestic, showcasing beautiful historical architecture. Inside, the museum is well-organized with fascinating exhibits covering Czech history, culture, and natural sciences. The combination of stunning architecture and rich collections makes it a must-visit spot in Prague. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history and culture.

Very impressed museum. Nice view of the area on the top floor. And amazing galleries in the 2 other floors. Better with explanation but also very impressed without. The building itself is also something beautiful. Don't miss going there. And nearby all the stores for shopping.

We visited this as a family of 5pax and this was one of the highlights of our Prague trip. 1. The ticket counter and museum service staff all speak excellent English and was extremely helpful and polite in explaining the museum exhibitions and various tickets. 2. There is baggage storage area for backpacks that is free of charge. You cannot bring your backpack in if it is too big. I could bring my pouch in, so it seems like a matter of size. 3. The ground floor is absolutely gorgeous and we spent a lot of time taking pictures there. I would suggest spending at least 30mins for photos alone. The top floor also has an amazing aeriel view of Prague. 4. We spent around 4hrs here and eventually sped thru the rest of the museum as we got too hungry. We could have probably spent another 2hrs there if we were not hungry! 5. We have visited many museums all over the world: London, Singapore, Paris, Shanghai, Beijing etc and this Museum is one of the best we have seen so far.

The National museum is a bit smaller than in other countries but we liked that it actually focused a lot on Czech history instead of exhibiting things from all over the world. There is a lot to see and learn. The building itself is already really beautiful. Backpack storage is for free and if you don't go on the weekends or holidays, there is enough space to look around undisturbed. I'd definitely recommend going there on your trip to Prague.

Visited here on a whim, and it was great. Tickets for adults are around £12 each, they accept card or cash. You have to scan the bar code on the ticket to get in. It wasn't busy when we went, which was a weekday afternoon. Downstairs are lockers, and you need to leave bigger bags there if you are going to any of the exhibitions. The ticket included everything except the children's museum, which is next door. We got to see Selam and Lucy, who were early humans, and their bones. There are toilets dotted around that are quite spacious. Beautiful interior. I was amazed at some of the information and the level of effort put in to fill out the rooms, and make the models. It was an added bonus that there was everything in English, too. It's warm inside, so you might want to leave your bags downstairs. You could spend a couple of hours here. There is a small cafe and two museum shops, too. I would buy tickets in advance for the weekend or busy periods.
P S — Google review
The historic building of the National Museum stands at the top of Wenceslas Square and immediately catches your eye with its grand Neo-Renaissance architecture, completed in 1891 by architect Josef Schulz. Inside, the museum offers a mix of natural history, archaeology, Czech history and cultural exhibitions, all displayed in a very modern and well-organized way after the recent renovation. The entrance hall is stunning, with marble staircases, arches and a spectacular dome that makes you feel like you’re inside a palace. Many rooms highlight key events in Czech history, from ancient times to the 20th century. The building itself has lived through major historical moments: it was damaged during World War II and again in 1968 during the Soviet invasion, and today it stands restored as a symbol of national identity. It’s a place where you can enjoy both the museum collections and the architecture. Definitely worth a visit if you’re interested in history, culture or simply want to experience one of Prague’s most iconic landmarks.

The National Museum in Prague is an absolute must-visit! Me and my partner went during our week in Prague, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. I’d highly recommend pre-booking tickets, as they sell out quickly: we tried to go one day without booking and it was already sold out, so we booked for the next day instead. The architecture is breathtaking, and the exhibits are fascinating, covering history, culture, and science. A beautiful, educational, and memorable experience - definitely add it to your Prague itinerary!

One of the best museums I’ve ever visited. Super unique exhibits. I was very lucky to see the Lucy and Salem exhibit which is usually not displayed in Europe. I also loved the ‘People and their Ancestors’ section. Climb up to the Copula if you have time. The views of Prague are great from up there. They also have a great little cafe within the museum which is great for a light pastry and drink ☕️.

Den Noc, a charming establishment located in Prague, offers a unique experience that transitions from day to night. During the day, it is renowned for serving an extensive selection of gourmet pancakes, both sweet and savory, which attract long queues of eager patrons. As evening falls, the venue transforms into a stylish wine bar offering carefully curated Moravian wines selected by its owners. Situated on a peaceful back street near popular tourist attractions, Den Noc provides a tranquil escape from the bustling city center.
Pancakes are okay, but I prefer savory dishes over sweet ones. The location is great, right in the center of the city, which makes it a convenient choice for brunch or breakfast. One issue is the space — the restaurant is quite small, and even with just three people, it felt a bit cramped. Still, the atmosphere was okay, and we managed. The prices are reasonable, and the food is decent for what it is. If you’re nearby and looking for a casual place to eat, it’s worth trying.

Nice quaint breakfast spot. Staff were kind. Pancakes were delicious- I had the avocado and bacon ones. The pancakes were delicious and had each layer with the ingredients. My only improvement would be they have salt and pepper on the table, but for a place that sells pancakes you would expect to have maple syrup there too (you have to pay an extra 40czk for syrup) and I think it would've made my pancakes better (but I didn't try the syrup as on a budget)

Yummy offering of sweet and savory pancakes, got a savory pancake with avocado, feta and bacon. The bacon was phenomenal! Would’ve liked to try a sweet pancake next time. The server was great at trying to make room for us and was very courteous. Very small indoors so be mindful that you may need to wait outdoors.

Very tasty pancakes, with the lindt sauce on each of the four pancakes you get not just the top one, plentiful toppings all round. Pancakes both gluten free and gluten containing were very tasty. Inside is small but cosy. Great service, very polite and attentive to staff.

Lovely food, the pancakes are the perfect amount of soft and chewy. Generous portions and a wide range of tea and coffee options. The servers Anna and Clara are very attentive and made sure that everything was just right - I was extremely impressed with the service.

We had pancakes here for brunch. The pancakes seem rather small for the price at first glance but actually every layer has ingredients and we ate well. The place can get very busy and a little slow when it is full, we wanted to have a dessert as well but decided to go somewhere else as huge groups came and orders got a little slow, maybe next time!

Lovely place! Waited a bit too long for our order but the food was delicious. Unfortunately forgot to take a photo of the breakfast pancakes we had. The atmosphere was so cosy and the staff were nice. Must go hidden gem! ❤️
Deya M — Google review
Not the best experience for us. The scrambled eggs with salmon portion was tiny. The pancakes (“trhanec”) were inaccurately described on the menu — we understood “with cream” to mean served with caramel cream, but the cream was actually mixed into the batter while cooking, and the final dish was dry and grainy. The “mixed fruits” that were supposed to come with it turned out to be just a few strawberries, and there were no chocolate options available on the menu. My daughter was craving hot chocolate, but that wasn’t available either, as they were out of it. Altogether, very disappointing.

French restaurant
La Gare is a lively brasserie in Prague, styled like a classical Parisian joint and located near Namesti Republiky and Masarykovo nadrazi. It offers traditional French dishes in a comfortable setting, making French cuisine easily accessible in the city. Established in 2009, it continues to be a premier dining spot representing French cuisine in the Czech Republic. Whether you're looking for casual dining or a romantic dinner for two, La Gare is an excellent choice.
Enjoyed this place a lot during my trip to Prague! Food were fantastic, especially the Salad with Tuna, such a flavor bomb. Portions were generous too🥹. Thank you Isa for the amazing service! Such a delight. 👍🏻

One of the best fine dining experiences I have had in Prague. Perfect location for finishing your walk around Prague streets, amazing meat and delicious sweets. Professional someliers and very kind waiters. Thanks especially to Petr F. who took such a good care of us and was able to tell us all details about every single item from menu. It made the decision what to order much easier. Definitely place to visit.

I’ve been living in Prague for several years and La Gare is by far the best French restaurant I’ve ever been. Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and professional service – and a special mention to manager Petr F. who always makes sure every guest feels welcome.

Normally Jarda takes care of us, but the new staff Vendula, Isa and Zuna were great! Fabulous Duck! Fabulous Steak as always and just the best food and wine for a lovely Sunday afternoon. Don’t forget the fries, as they are the best in town.

Best dinner we ever head in Prague - and we are locals. We picked this place for our 10 year anniversary and even though we never mentioned it to anyone in the staff, they were extremely nice. La Gare is bit of a secret gem for locals and I totally loved it. Everything from appetizers to desserts was top notch - we tried seafood and filet mignon, morels and foie gras, everything was served at the right moment and absolutely exquisite. Huge kudos to Jaroslav who took perfect care of us through the night. And thanks to everyone else on the shift today, you made our night 👏

I had an absolutely mind-blowing experience at La Gare in Prague! The food was divine, with every dish perfectly capturing the essence of French cuisine. The ambiance was amazing – elegant yet fun, making it the perfect spot for a memorable meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and playful; our waiter Vojta was amazing, elegant, fun and professional. We even celebrated a fake birthday, and they totally played along, surprising us with a free dessert! It’s rare to find such a mix of great food, a fantastic atmosphere, and such genuinely fun service. I can’t recommend La Gare enough – an unforgettable experience! 💐

Výtopna Railway Restaurant

Restaurant
Výtopna Railway Restaurant, located in Wenceslas Square, offers a unique dining experience with spacious tables surrounded by a large toy train set, complete with tracks, villages, and bridges. Each table has its own track that allows drinks and snacks to be delivered by train after ordering. This creates an exciting atmosphere for both children and adults as the trains navigate through the crowded restaurant.
Great experience!!! We visited Výtopna restaurant on Monday evening and it was quite busy - we recommend booking a table in advance ( which we did) as the waiting queue was looong. Drinks and food arrived really fast. They have a “ make your own” menu which I thought was not that expensive for central Prague - you can choose a starter, main & desert for 890czk ( about £31pp). Big portions, tasty food and nice service. Definitely recommend visiting while in Prague.

Fun experience with the trains bringing food! 😃 We ordered a menu with tartar, cheeseburger, panna cotta and additional coleslaw. Everything was absolutely delicious! 😍 Tartar - super delicious and creamy and comes with bread, garlic and pickles. Cheeseburger - also great, with smokey and juicy meat, slightly red and not overcooked at all. The bun in the burger is very buttery. Fries with mayo dressing - super nice. Panna cotta - creamy and not too sweet with berries which are only slightly prepared with sugar, tasting very fresh. Coleslaw - absolutely delicious. Selection of 4 beers on a train is fun and not too expensive. It is quite expensive, but I have to say they also put effort into making nice food and not only charge you for the train experience. Absolutely recommended to book in advance as the queues to this place are huge.
Ksenia Z — Google review
A very unique and interesting environment — full of trains moving in different directions, creating a truly unusual and engaging atmosphere. The restaurant definitely stands out from any standard place. We had roasted pork ribs with French fries and beer. The food and beer were of average quality, nothing special, especially considering the prices, which are about 30–40% higher than in other local restaurants. For example, a Pilsner Urquell that costs around 80 CZK in Pork’s or Lokál was 127 CZK here. Overall, it’s probably more of an experience restaurant, great for kids and families who want to enjoy the train-themed setting. For adults looking mainly for good food or drinks, I wouldn’t strongly recommend it — it’s more about the atmosphere than the cuisine.
Shalva G — Google review
Vytopna is hands-down one of the most memorable restaurants I’ve ever been to. The model trains delivering drinks and snacks to your table is just brilliant—it makes the whole meal feel playful and special. The food and drinks are great, but honestly, the trains steal the show! It’s perfect for families, friends, or anyone who wants a fun twist on dining. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Prague!
Jack F — Google review
A very fun place with a unique atmosphere — the little trains delivering drinks and food are really cool. However, the prices for both food and drinks are definitely on the higher side. The ribs were especially disappointing: mostly fat and almost no meat, which really shouldn’t be the case. Nice experience overall, but the quality of the food doesn’t quite match the price.
An — Google review
What a cool experience! Felt like a kid again playing with scale trains. Like other reviews here, the prices are higher than what you’d pay in a regular bar or restaurant, and the food and beer are not exceptional (it’s not bad either). However, it is a very unique and fun place, for kids and adults (with inner children) alike. The staff were very nice and friendly!
Rodrigo C — Google review
After seeing this restaurant on a BBC documentary I wanted to visit. It's so unique and you don't have to be a train fan to enjoy it. After placing your order the drinks and depending what food you order is delivered by train. Even just watching the trains going round is so much fun. The guage for train fans is 0 guage. We unfortunately due to timings on our last day we could only stay for a glass of wine but if you plan to stay booking is advisable as it will be busy.
Gordon C — Google review
Trains are really interesting and funny attraction. Friendly service. We only tried beer tasting set and French fries and they were good. It’s not really a place to spend a lot of time (quite loud and lack of privacy, cause you need to share a table with other people). It’s also quite pricey but definitely worth a visit!

Restaurant
U Kroka is a historic Czech restaurant and bar established in 1895, featuring brick walls and a charming summer terrace. Located near Prague's Vysehrad, this non-smoking pub offers an inviting atmosphere for socializing with friends while enjoying excellent beer, including unfiltered Plzen. It's an ideal spot for foreigners seeking traditional Czech cuisine without the tourist crowds found in central Prague.
If only I could give 10 stars! My daughter recommended U Kroka. So happy I finally got to visit! I’ve been lucky to have a lot of great meals. This was the best i can remember. Really. Let me put it this way, it started with a dill, MUSHROOM & potato soup that was ridiculous.. I hate mushrooms, never ate them, always avoided them. This (kulajda) was unbelievable. And, yes i ate every bit, including all the mushrooms! Main course, wild boar loin, bacon stuffing, sweet potato puree, sea buckthorn (amazing little sweet berries), cabbage, rosehip (another great berry) sauce. The service was perfect! If ever in Prague - go here!

My wife and I were looking for authentic Czech cuisine in Prague, and U KROKA absolutely delivered! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating — even though I had mistakenly booked our reservation for the wrong date and the restaurant was fully booked, they still managed to find us a table. That level of kindness and hospitality really set the tone for a wonderful evening. We tried several traditional dishes and everything was absolutely delicious. The Prague ham with Olomouc curd cheese foam and apple gel was a perfect starter — delicate and flavorful. The Svíčková was rich and comforting, the beef goulash hearty and satisfying, and the dessert, cake žemlovka, was a delightful surprise with its mix of apples, cream cheese, white chocolate, and apple sorbet. I had a crisp Pilsner beer that paired beautifully with the meal, while my wife enjoyed a refreshing mango lemonade. The menu is varied, so there’s something for everyone, and most of the staff speaks English, which makes it easy for non-Czech speakers to feel welcome and understood. Highly recommend U KROKA for anyone wanting a genuine taste of Czech cuisine with top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

U Kroka is simply one of the best traditional Czech restaurants in Prague that effortlessly combines authenticity, warmth, and outstanding culinary execution. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere feels like a refined yet cosy Czech home: wooden beams, soft lighting, and a welcoming buzz that never feels overcrowded despite its well-deserved popularity. The staff are genuinely exceptional — attentive without hovering, genuinely passionate about the food, and quick with thoughtful recommendations and a smile that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The food, however, is the true star. Every dish is prepared with remarkable care and respect for Bohemian tradition, yet executed with a precision that elevates it far above the usual tourist-oriented spots. The flavours are rich, balanced, and deeply satisfying. The Kulajda soup is nothing short of extraordinary — easily the finest I’ve ever tasted. A velvety dill-infused mushroom broth, perfectly creamy yet light, with tender potatoes, a soft-poached egg, and wild mushrooms that burst with earthy intensity. Each spoonful is pure comfort and complexity in harmony; it alone is worth the visit. Main courses follow the same impeccable standard with generous portions and elegant presentation. Coupled with a solid Czech wine and beer list and fair pricing for this level of quality, U Kroka delivers an unforgettable dining experience. If you want authentic Czech cuisine at its absolute peak, served by lovely people in a charming setting, reserve a table here without hesitation.

This was our last day in Prague but before heading to the airport we thought we would visit the fortress. We also hadn't yet had the national dish of Svickova so googled the best in Prague and UKroka came up. What am amazing place. It's right at the foot of the steps of the fortress so very handy if you're visiting. As soon as we walked in the staff were super helpful and even took our luggage and locked it out the back for us. The food was absolutely beautiful and the Svickova was stunning so if you're looking for the best then look no further.
Craig R — Google review
U Kroka feels like the kind of place Prague keeps hidden behind a wink, local, warm, lived-in, and absolutely confident in its craft. You walk past the Czech flag, step inside, and instantly slip out of the tourist current. Exposed brick, soft lighting and quirky artwork set the mood for a meal that isn’t trying to impress you; it just does. The cooking shines in that quiet, effortless way that only real tradition can deliver. The duck arrives with a glossy skin and fall-apart tenderness, sitting proudly among dumplings that behave like tiny sponges for all that glorious gravy. And the soups, easily the show-stealers, come in two personalities. The smoked garlic soup hits you first with aroma, then with depth. It’s earthy, comforting, and almost rustic in its honesty. The dill potato soup is gentler, bright with herbs, creamy without being heavy, like winter sunshine in a bowl. Together, they’re a love letter to Czech home cooking. The beer ties the whole experience together. Cold, clean, and poured with the kind of reverence only Czechs can manage. It slices beautifully through the richness and gives the entire meal a kind of easy rhythm. Service is quick, warm, and grounded, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood kitchen, locals chatting, families settling in, and absolutely zero tourist theatrics. U Kroka is traditional Czech cuisine at its confident best. Hearty, soulful, beautifully executed, with beer and soups that alone justify the trip. An authentic Prague gem, through and through.

Good food and friendly staff. The pumpkin soup was excellent and the goulash well prepared. It’s very busy and quite noisy, and the service felt rushed - I was asked about dessert and coffee before I’d even finished my drink. A good place overall, but not ideal if you want a calm, relaxed meal.
Tássio C — Google review
Cannot fault U Kroka for anything; warm, friendly service, the staff allow space but inquire appropriately during meal, beautifully presented tasty dishes, and wonderfully thoughtful menu with good drinks selection. Staff are especially delightful. Highly recommend.

After my 2nd visit in Prague and both times having visited „U Kroka” I can definitely say it is my favorite place to eat. If you are walking around Vysehrad, which i enjoy greatly, this is the place to go after. You can find local czech cuisine here that is a bit more on the pricey side but the whole experience is definitely worth it, trust me. You are welcomed and taken care of by servers who are very attentive, kind and professional. The atmosphere of the place is calm and soothing. The food is actually regional, delicious and filling. When it comes to the beer it is actually cheap for this type of place and of wonderful quality (try it rezane style). Highly recommend ❤️
