Trdelnik, also known as Baumkuchen in Czech, is a popular sweet treat found throughout Prague. These cinnamon chimney pastries are often filled with indulgent options like ice cream or Nutella. While trdelnik stands can be found on many street corners, for a more contemporary take on traditional Czech sweets, visitors can seek out Cukrar Skala.
Located right by the town square! Offering wonderful varieties of traditional chimney cake. Perfect to-go sweet for a refreshing treat. I got the pistachio cream roll, with pistachio icecream, it was wonderful , creamy and rich. The extra crunch from the pistachios rolled into the top of the cake complimented it really well. Would definitely recommend, the variety is great.
ESHAANA S — Google review
You can't visit Prague without trying the Trdelnik 😍 Chimney cake with ice cream is the most common sweet in Prague You will have many shops for it alongside the old town streets Try it and enjoy 😋😋
Shaza Y — Google review
Walking along historic Karlova Street, I couldn’t resist the warm, cinnamon-scented Trdelník cones adorning the stall at Karlova 190/1—famously billed as the “Best Trdelník of Prague” . Watching the dough spiral around the metal spit, roast over coals, then emerge golden and crisp was practically irresistible. Freshly baked and coated in cinnamon sugar, the Trdelník’s outside was satisfyingly crunchy while the soft, pillowy dough inside remained warm and lightly sweet—exactly as an ideal version should be . Opting for the filled version with creamy ice cream and juicy strawberries, I found the combo indulgent but still balanced: the cold, creamy center complemented the warm pastry shell beautifully. One reviewer described theirs as “a donut cone, with ice cream, brownies and chocolate sauce with hazelnuts”—a decadent symphony of flavors
Aya H — Google review
Call it a cliché, call it a tourist trap… but honestly, I don’t care. Trdelník is just good. Even after years of living in Prague, I still enjoy grabbing one from time to time — especially on a sunny day in the city center. The one in the photo? A dreamy combo: crispy grilled dough cone filled with creamy vanilla soft serve, topped with fresh strawberries and drizzled with chocolate sauce. It’s sweet, rich, and totally indulgent — the kind of street food that puts a smile on your face. Sure, it’s not traditional Czech cuisine. In fact, it originated in Skalica, Slovakia — but it has found a second home in Prague, and I’m not complaining. It's not about tradition here; it's about the joy of grabbing a sugary treat and enjoying the moment. Pro tip: Eat it fast before the ice cream melts into your hands 😄
Get-nabla — Google review
It’s a very clean place to taste the traditional dessert of Prague. We got ice cream with strawberry. It was very delicious
Dona M — Google review
Food is disgusting. Woman so unfriendly. Rolled her eyes when we ordered. Really not worth the money. We Threw the food away. Dont eat the sausage and especially the langos!! Sadest langos i ever had. No taste.
Stefanie P — Google review
She was cute, this place has the best chimney cake I have ever eaten in the city of Prague. we have tried 4 different places and this is definitely the best!! the cake is soft, warm and a very generous .
Tina — Google review
I went there to try lokal food - Trdelnik. I ordered it with strawberry and cream, but I didn’t really like the filling because there were just 5 small strawberries and a lot of cream without sugar. Dough itself I loved, there was enough sugar and it was crispy. Maybe with another flavour it would be better. The service is very fast but there are only 3 tables in the cafe so it’s more likely that you will have to eat outside.

Ovocný Světozor, a beloved sweet shop chain in Prague, is famous for its delectable fruit cakes and renowned soft-serve strawberry-banana flavored ice cream. In addition to an array of whipped cream cakes, cheesecakes, pancakes, and waffles, the menu also offers savory options like open-faced sandwiches and wholegrain pastries.
The food there is a hidden gem! Very GOOD VALUE! The portion was big and super tasty. The coconut and the chocolate were a bit sweet (still taste good and rich of flavour) other than that the rest were great. Sandwiches were nice. Anyway they all tasted fantastic! As you see I had been there three times during my trip, one dine in and two take away, the only problem is not all the staff were friendly. Some of them were fine, some of them were impatient and annoyed.
Adrianne L — Google review
A sweet paradise in the heart of Prague! Cakes, pastries, sandwiches… everything I tried was amazing! The raspberry cake was refreshing, light, and perfectly balanced, while the smoked salmon sandwich was fresh and well-prepared – great for a quick bite. There are so many options – literally a sea of desserts and treats, it’s hard to choose! Everything looks beautiful, and what I tasted was just as delicious. If you’ve got a sweet tooth and want to try something authentic, Ovocný Světozor is a must-visit spot in Prague!
Patricia R — Google review
Awesome place, hidden gem(for travellers and tourists) the desserts and cakes are very delicious. The prices are reasonable. The cafe is clean and newly furnished, the interior design is so sweet. You don’t encounter any tourists here, the locals regularly come here, so it is not a typical tourist trap. You can find the best pastry of Prague in here. The cafe is inside a passage, so you won’t see it directly in the street while walking down the Vaclav Square. A must to visit if you love any kind of desserts!
Hsyn S — Google review
So many cakes to choose from and I'm sure they are as delicious as the one I had. Great sandwich as well. Also I really loved the interior design.

Red velvet cake is a must try ! Also the blueberry cheesecake was very delicious 😋 The ambiance was also kinda cute in the middle of the buzzing city centre

Very tasty sweets in affordable prices. When you come in less than one hour before closing, you get 20% discount.

The ice cream was good but the cakes for inedible! We tried the misa and the raspberry cheesecake. Both were terrible. The whipped cream was unsweetened. The staff were pleasant. Only get the ice cream if you go here.
Kate W — Google review
We were told by a local that if we wanted an authentic Czech snack we should stop here. It was awesome. All locals. Delicious open faced sandwiches and unbelievable cakes and treats. Staff were so sweet and kind despite the language barrier. Would definitely come back.

Palačinky Crêpes & Coffee is a hidden gem that offers delectable savory crepes. The spinach, tomato, and cheese combination is simply amazing and worth trying out.
Don’t usually have any high expectations when eating in kosher restaurants abroad but the crepe at Crepes was fantastic, delicious and unique
Moshe W — Google review
I was very pleasantly surprised to find this little store in the heart of the historic Jewish quarter. I had a cheese crepe which was fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and the food reasonably priced. I heartily recommend this store!

Great kosher spot in Prague! The food was fresh and tasty, portions were big, and the staff was really friendly. Nice atmosphere too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the city
ERIK K — Google review
I tried the crepes and honestly they’re amazing! Fresh, delicious, and made with so much love. The flavors are perfect and the presentation is beautiful. Definitely recommend if you’re craving something sweet or savory this is the place to go!”

Café Savoy is a sophisticated café and restaurant exuding an old-world charm, featuring a lavish wooden interior reminiscent of the First Czechoslovakian Republic. Locals flock to this European-style café for its delectable brunch offerings, including fresh croissants, Prague ham, and creamy coffee served beneath ornate high ceilings adorned with designer chandeliers.
I had the Savoy Breakfast although it was lunch time, I was very happy about that. The food was delicious! The place is beautiful with its high ceilings and chandeliers. I couldn’t sit in the main room because it was full, so sat in a smaller room, which is also nice, but would have preferred the other one. Highly recommend booking, otherwise, be prepared to queue for a while. The place is clean and the atmosphere is very nice.
Barbara J — Google review
Cafe Savoy is a must-visit. The chicken with cranberry is outstanding, tender and full of flavor, easily one of the best dishes I’ve had. The Latte of Savoy is equally impressive, smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is attentive, making it a place I’d return to without hesitation. What makes the experience even better is the history of Cafe Savoy. Established in the late 19th century, it has kept much of its original charm, with high ceilings and elegant interiors that reflect its long tradition as a cultural meeting place in Prague.
Alia F — Google review
We popped in for a quick bit of breakfast. It’s a lovely building with a great old fashioned feel to it. We had breakfast croissants and a pancake which were all very tasty. It was incredibly busy at the time so we had to wait quite a while to be served, but it was well worth the visit
Osian R — Google review
Beautiful old cafe with tasty desserts and hot chocolate. Service isn’t the most friendly but with these old style cafes they are machines that operate so quickly. It’s on the pricey side but I do recommend stopping by for a dessert and a drink as the sweets are very tasty and you get to see the old school classical Czech cafe. Just booked a reservation in advance.
Julie K — Google review
Beautiful and elegant café with a charming atmosphere, definitely worth a visit. We ordered tea, hot chocolate, a round pastry filled with cream, a croissant stuffed with turkey and topped with cheese, an omelette, and an apple strudel. Everything was nicely presented and tasted good, but there was something missing overall, maybe a bit more warmth in the service or flavor to make it truly exceptional. Still, a lovely place to enjoy breakfast or a sweet break in a classic European setting.
Jason M — Google review
We had breakfast here and it was our most expensive meal of the trip, even more expensive than our dinners. So yes, the food is pricey but at least it was good. I however might not return just for the nice decor, as I think there are other places around which are just as good but less pricey. They are very efficient though! And toilets were very clean.
Deb C — Google review
Unfortunately we missed breakfast as they stop serving at 11.30. The food was amazing and you can see the bakery if you go down the stairs. The chandeliers are all recycled plastic and the building has an amazing history. Well worth a visit.
LEIGH B — Google review
Make sure to make reservations before you go or else you'll be waiting outside untill someone leaves and they can take you in. (which is what i have done) Very beautiful design inside and very old palace looking. Prices were ok and the food i ordered tasted pretty good. I think it is a must go in Prague

Eska Restaurant and Bakery in Prague is a versatile establishment that combines the best of a restaurant, bakery, and specialty coffee shop. Situated in the trendy Karlin district within a repurposed factory, it exudes a youthful vibe with its modern setting and friendly staff. The menu features healthy options like cold-fermented oats porridge alongside traditional Czech breakfast and lunch dishes made from locally sourced ingredients using innovative cooking techniques. The bakery section offers an array of delectable Czech baked goods.
We’re really glad we stopped by this place! The food is restaurant-quality – delicious, carefully prepared, and made with attention to detail. The highlight for us was the dill soup – an unexpected but incredibly tasty and flavorful dish! The atmosphere was also a lovely surprise: it’s not just a place to eat, but a real, working bakery with authentic charm. And since it is a bakery, I have to mention the bread – fresh, aromatic, and truly exceptional. Definitely worth a visit!

Amazing fine dining experience! Would highly recommend this spot if you are visiting Prague. We got the tasting menu and wine tasting and the non alcohol tasting. All very very good. Greta service. Also there is an open kitchen. So you can see the chefs working right in front of you. Very impressed!!
Veronica D — Google review
A few weeks ago we had dinner at Eska in Prague — amazing creative dishes with unique, locally sourced ingredients. Trendy yet cosy atmosphere, and top-notch service. They were especially attentive to my pregnant wife, making sure everything was perfect. Loved the in-house bakery and freshly baked bread. Highly recommend for modern Czech cuisine with a twist
Niké W — Google review
Stunning food and great service. Coffee was delicious and the food was well executed and really well seasoned. I had the poached egg with fermented barley, mushrooms and truffles on my first visit and the omelette on my second - both excellent. They manage to get the food out to you really quickly as well (which is great when you're late for a flight). Definitely worth taking a short tram journey from the centre.
Harry U — Google review
Wonderful bakery, bunch cafe. Loved the atmosphere, food was delicious and staff attentive and helpful. We came from brunch but couldn't help ordering the bread at the same time to take home with us back home.
Matthew — Google review
As many others have noted, this is a great spot for brunch in Karlin. We came on a chilly Saturday morning around 11, and waited less than ten minutes for a table for two inside. Once seated, you can peruse the menu before standing in line to order at the counter. The line moves quickly and also gives you a chance to peak into the open floor kitchen to see all the madness of the bakery and food preparation. Our meal came in less than ten minutes and WOW, everything was so tasty. The Potatoes in Ash delivered on creamy salty goodness, and the breakfast platter with eggs Benedict, salad and panna cotta was a perfect montage of flavors both sweet and savory. It was a rich meal that last us feeling satisfied!
Stefanie G — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was friendly. I want to give it a 4.5 stars cause of the egg fried toast sandwich (needed a sauce), but I would definitely go back. The cherry sponge cake was devine (said in a fancy voice)
Charyn V — Google review
I really like the breakfast in this restaurant. The decor is trendy and lively young crowd. The Chai Latte taste perfect and the Potatoes Ash was to die for.

Ice cream shop
Cafe
Puro Gelato is a popular gelato shop with multiple locations in Prague, including one near the Vyton tram stop and another in the Old Town. The service is generally pleasant, but opinions on the flavors vary. Some favorites include blueberry with sour cream, banana, and poppyseed, while others like ricotta with figs. The shop also offers sorbets alongside its gelato.
I was passing by and decided to get some ice cream. And how much i was surprised from the amount of people in the que. As I understood there are 3 kind of portion: 2 flavors 4 flavors (5 €) And 6 flavors As well they offer coffee and other desserts. They have a good selection of ice cream with different flavors. So, I've chosen mango flavor, dragon fruit flavor, chocolate flavor and caramel flavor. All was delicious! I would definitely recommend to come here and try their ice cream.
Oksana S — Google review
A lovely little gelato shop! I ordered my favorite—coconut gelato—with a rich, creamy texture and strong coconut flavor. The cone was perfectly crispy too! The shop is beautifully decorated with flowers and has a charming seating area.
Ying T — Google review
I stopped by for some ice cream and was genuinely impressed. The ice cream was delicious, but what really stood out was the lady at the counter she was incredibly friendly. While I was sitting there enjoying my treat, I noticed how warmly she interacted with everyone, always smiling and kind. It made the whole experience feel really special, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
Eva R — Google review
I happened to stop by after visiting the Saturday-only farmer’s market — and it turned out to be the best decision! Now I understand why this place won an award for their gelato. It’s truly homemade with real fresh fruit, and honestly, the best gelato I’ve ever had. The coffee flavor was also perfect. Highly recommend this place! If I ever come back to Prague, I’ll definitely be returning.
Seulbi — Google review
Used to come here years ago when I lived in Prague and it was nice then and still is today. Lots of interesting flavours! The woman who served us was very friendly, polite and patient even with my bad Czech skills. Also perfectly positioned for you to take your ice cream to the park opposite or down to the river.
Daniel C — Google review
Walked past this place as it was about to close before we had dinner and thought “we must come back tomorrow” because it looked so good. SO GLAD we came back! Very yummy with lots of flavours and also lots of vegan options too. The chocolate was so simple and perfect. Just pure chocolate taste and nice and creamy and smooth. The cakes in the cabinet look define too and my friends said the coffee was also good!
Natalie C — Google review
Delicious and creamy gelato (we tried hazelnut, spirulina and curcuma-passion fruit) , cozy place and very friendly staff.
Alexandra G — Google review
Very disappointed. A lot of people told me this is very good ice cream. Peanut flavour was quite good but pistachio was probably the worst pistachio I ever had. As it is usually one of my favourites, I’ll probably stick to other places.

Pastry shop
Cukrář Skála, located near Namesti Republiky in Prague, offers a modern take on traditional Czech sweets. Inspired by his father's recipes, owner Lukas Skala presents an array of beautifully crafted desserts and baked goods such as cream rolls, cheesecakes, bon bons, and breakfast pastries. The sleek and modern interior of the shop allows visitors to observe the pastry experts at work.
Damn interesting pastry and coffee place. Gives you an industrial vibe but makes pastries that are so interesting. See through kitchen gives you a view to how all those lovely pastries are being made and assembled. The staff is extremely warm and well informed. Their recommendations are spot on once you tell them what you like in general.
Suresh K — Google review
Absolutely delicious patisserie in the heart of Prague! At Cukrář Skála, we tried the chocolate cherry slice, pistachio mousse with blackcurrant, and passion fruit mousse with coconut cream — all beautifully made. Our top pick was the rich and indulgent chocolate slice, followed by the refreshing passion fruit mousse. The pistachio one was nice too, though the pistachio flavor could’ve been a bit stronger. What makes this place extra special is the open kitchen — you can watch the pastry chefs at work through glass walls, which adds to the whole experience. Great selection, beautiful presentation, and amazing quality. Highly recommended for dessert lovers!
Juraj K — Google review
What a wonderful little discovery! We had just checked into our hotel in Prague and noticed this pastry shop right across the street—so glad we walked in. Everything here is freshly made in-house, and you can actually see the magic happening through the glass window into the kitchen. We tried the chocolate tart and a slush, and both were absolutely delicious—fresh, rich, and not overly sweet. You can tell they put real care into their pastries. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, even though they didn’t speak much English, which honestly just added to the charm of the place. The decor is simple and modern, but the transparent glass into the kitchen gives it such a warm, inviting feel. A fantastic shop worth checking out if you’re in Prague and want a sweet treat!
Regis K — Google review
It's the best pastry and dessert shop in Prague. Bit crowded but there's still place inside the shop for standing while eating and watch the folks making pastry, or can sit outside in the alley (quite romantic). All the food are beautifully prepared and very enticing. The kremrole and pistacchio ice cream are very good. We also packed few items to enjoy during our bus journey to Munich later in the day.

Am a lil torn about this place. The pistachio ice cream here is sensational. Creamy and incredibly intense but not artificial and has a lil saltyness to it. Buuut the pastries looked fantastic so ofc I had to try one too and to be honest the taste didn't rly match the look. Thought it was veryyy sweet. Maybe got unlucky. Also had a coffee which was decent but not more. 5 for the ice cream but 4 overall.

Artesian pastry and gelato shop. We tried the carrot cake and chocolate gelato. The carrot cake was light and delicious, while the chocolate gelato was silky and truly outstanding. The coffee was good, though not exceptional. The place is quiet and a nice spot to take a break in town. A special touch is being able to watch the pastry chefs at work as they create their masterpieces.

Love the open kitchen concept where you can see them making the desserts. We got coffee and two cakes, everything was great and people were kind and friendly. Happy to get some Halloween special cakes. While it might not be your usual cosy cafe where you can sit down and chat for hours, they have tables where you can stand and eat, and some tables to sit outside. Amazing ambience.

Great atmosphere. The desserts are delicious, beautifully presented, and taste fresh. The coffee is excellent as well, with options for alternative milks. Highly recommend!

Oh Deer Bakery has been making waves in Prague since its inception in 2017, and their latest location on Dejvicka street in Bubenec is a testament to their growing popularity. Known for their scrumptious cronuts—a delightful fusion of croissants and donuts—this bakery offers an array of flavors that tantalize the taste buds, from fruity blueberry to indulgent salted caramel.
I visited in February, and I have to say: 10/10! The pastries are absolutely incredible – hands down the best bakery in Prague, and I’ve tried many. The Trdelník (chimney cake) is an absolute must-try! On top of that, the owner is super friendly, and I had a great conversation with him in English. You can really feel the passion behind everything they do. If you’re in Prague, this place is a must-visit! 😊🤝

Nice concept. Nice atmosphere. Funny branding. The donuts were interesting and I am sure many would love them. I found them very heavy and I believe I would rather choose the simpler form of a donut. What I did not like most about these donuts is that, despite being covered and/or filled with nice options, they were covered also in sugar. At the same time, the outer layer tends to be crispy but somewhat oily. They would be much tastier overall for me without the latter two.
Grigoris V — Google review
Best cronuts in the world! They’re constantly introducing new flavours so there’s always something new to try. Good coffee too btw! And the pink chai latte is worth trying. It’s clear the staff loves their job and it reflects in their attitude. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the #1 place in Prague you must visit (again and again)! I literally dream about these cronuts

A lovely spot to unwind after a long day of walking. We each enjoyed a refreshing juice and shared a delicious donut—both were delightful. While seating is limited if it gets busy, the charming décor and inviting atmosphere make it a wonderful place to relax. Would definitely recommend!
Hammid A — Google review
A colleague told me about this place... Their cakes are really amazing, I could eat one or per week!!! Their cakes are a crossing between a donut and a croissant... a cronut cake. I've tried the blueberry with crème fraîche and i could resist the pacen with mascarpone. Mmmmmmm... Really friendly staff!

Nice selection, kind staff, cozy location with nice spacing between each table. Feels fresh.

Saw this as a recommendation on TikTok and wanted to try it. Tried a kombucha since it’s my favorite drink and a blueberry donut. Both were good.

Stopped by a couple of times today, great coffee and food. Perfect for a morning coffee or to wind down after walking around a lot all day. If we were in Prague for longer, we'd definitely be back!

Kolacherie is a small bake shop in Prague known for its truly amazing pastries, including traditional ones with poppy seeds and almonds. They also offer unique flavors like strawberry & rhubarb and poppy seeds & plums, all of which are soft and not overly sweet. The shop provides vegan versions for those with dietary restrictions. Customers can enjoy delicious pumpkin spice lattes and chai lattes with almond milk, as well as various savory options.
A lovely little retreat just off the busy street. The place is quite small – more of a to-go spot – but you can also sit down and enjoy your treats there. They offer very delicious and unique “kolach” pastries, both savory and sweet. We especially loved the poppy seed & quark combination. The coffee is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. Definitely worth a visit!
Varvara — Google review
After reading many reviews, we decided to stop by for some drinks and a kolach. We ordered a double espresso, a matcha latte, and a mixed berry kolach. Hands down, it was the best kolach we tried during our time in Prague. The berry flavor was bold and vibrant, perfectly balanced with the soft, tender pastry. Every bite was a harmonious mix of sweet and slightly tart, with the pastry light and buttery, never overpowering the filling. The staff were incredibly friendly, taking the time to explain the different flavors and never once rushing us to make a decision. The place itself is cozy and laid-back, with charming decor. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more flavors!
Mahsa T — Google review
My friend highly recommended going here after his visit to Prague and I was NOT disappointed. It was by far the best pastries we had the entire trip. We tried a few savory and sweet (the Poppyseed is the most traditional but I am also STILL thinking about the lemon chocolate Kolache two days later) and ordered Pumpkin Spice Lattes (the best I’ve ever had!). The atmosphere is completely warm and open and welcoming. 100% LGBTQAI+ friendly which I love. The team working the day we were there took time and really chatted with us. They shared their story and about their culture. We also learned that while of course Kolache are traditional Czech pastries, the chimney cakes are not. If you want something local and traditional this is where you need to go! It was really clear that the team cared a lot about sharing quality and delicious pastries and coffee and also their culture. We bought more to take with us for the next day’s travels home too. I cannot recommend them enough and will be back the next time I am in Prague! Thank you Kolacherie Celetná for your kindness and the delicious treats!

Words can't express just how delicious these kolach were! My husband and I each ate two of them and on our last day in the city, we went back for more! We sampled several flavors and all of them were out of this world. The light and fluffy texture of the dough, the perfect mix of fruit with the cream cheese....oh my gosh, incredible, a MUST try while in Prague!
Patricia C — Google review
Awesome koláče, friendly and knowledge team members with personal recommendations. Very small shop and it gets really busy. Only small detail - I visited for the first time on a Saturday morning and the koláč was amazing and fresh. Second visit on Sunday and it was not as good - the dough was dryer so probably it was baked on Saturday, so I’d recommend trying it during the week and in the morning for chances of getting the freshest possible. Still really good on the second visit but the first was just awesome.
Alvaro L — Google review
A local Czech recommended us this place for pastries. As we didnt know what to expect, we asked for a recommendation and the girl at the counter was very kind. Got the most traditional one in the end, with poppy seeds! Turns out poppy seeds are not my favorite but taste preference is personal, still glad I tried it though! More of a takeaway place but there are some small seats for a quick bite and rest!
Deb C — Google review
A small cafe with traditional Czech baked goods - phenomenal taste! I hope this cafe chain will replace all trdelniki stands in the city one day! This cafe is more suitable to take away - not much space here, just a couple sitting places and a few standing spots to get your coffee and kolache fix. Highly recommend! We got a few for breakfast, and after a first bite we knew we will take more with us.
Tatiana B — Google review
This is a very average coffee store in old town. The service is fast and the coffee is good but there is no place to sit down and enjoy it so it’s more of a grab-and-go place. There is construction outside so maybe they typically have tables there but at least for now there are much better places to get your caffeine fix satisfied. The pastries looked good but walking around trying to juggle a cup and pastry in the old town crowd was not something I wanted to attempt.

Angelato is a hidden gem located in the center of Prague 1. It offers a variety of delicious gelato flavors, with the pistachio being particularly noteworthy. The cafe also serves coffee and other unique flavors like lavender and blueberry, providing a perfect way to cool down on a hot day. Visitors appreciate the welcoming staff and the opportunity to sample flavors before making a purchase.
One of the best gelatos we had in Prague, unique delicious flavours, quick service and dairy free/sugar free options also available. Perfect for a hot summer day. Would recommend the dark chocolate and pistachio!! They also have changing flavours of the month. Located centrally for a quick refreshing treat.

Did not expect that high value of ice cream. Unique experience, which is great to say for an ice cream (after you ate thousands of them). When you can make a sculpture from the ice cream with the spoon, you can tell it’s not a scam, it’s some real stuff, great stuff. Coffee was also nice! Definetely will go back if we’re around. Thanks!
Kristof C — Google review
Ice cream is delicious. I took bacio and salted caramel and bacio is my favorite! Although the stuff seemed a bit cold and not really friendly. And the floor at the cafe was really dirty
Dasha B — Google review
Absolutely stunning. As an italian, getting ice cream outside of Italy, or even finding something that closely resembles it, is hard. When we spotted the ice creams from outside, which were covered, we immediately knew we had to try it. I got lavender and rice, while the rice is nothing to ride home about, it was still nice. The lavender was instead very tasty and a pleasure to have. As that was nice, we all tried the coffee, we were really surprised by the quality of the coffee, which was served with a cup of water, something which is rare even in most of Italy. The coffee was not burnt, instead, it tasted really nice and was a nice final to the gelato. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone finding themselves in Prague, as it is better than a lot of things I ate - and drank - in Italy. A well deserved 5/5

The staff at Angelato were absolutely lovely – very friendly, polite, and made us feel welcome right away. I really appreciated the atmosphere and the service, which was top-notch. Unfortunately, I have to say that the gelato itself didn’t meet my expectations. The texture and flavor just didn’t work for me – it felt a bit flat and lacked the richness I was hoping for. I understand taste is subjective, and others might love it, but it wasn’t to my liking. Overall, a pleasant experience thanks to the great staff, but the gelato wasn’t something I’d return for.

Restaurant
Café Louvre is a 100-year-old elegant café in Prague that offers separate Czech breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. It was opened in 1902 with the aim of bringing the Parisian coffeehouse experience to Prague. The café exudes old-world glamour with its imposing entrance hall, waiters in bow-ties and waistcoats, and a smoky billiard room.
Delicious food and fantastic service. The fruit salad was wonderful and fresh. The eggs were good. I was less of a fan of the Czech breakfast and my wife was less of a fan of the croissant (too much butter she said), but the service was great. Food was fresh and delicious. I really can't complain and I'm sure I'll be back sometime ❤️and I can't state enough the great service.

The service was excellent. Even on a packed summer Saturday, we were seated immediately and the staff were attentive without rushing us. We ordered food and drinks together and were impressed by the speed; everything arrived in about five minutes, including dessert. We tried the beef goulash with dumplings and the pork shoulder. Both dishes were decent, though the meat was dry. For dessert, the cheesecake was mixed: the filling was nice, but the base was just plain sponge with too much of it, and the mandarin pieces made it overly sweet.
Mark — Google review
We heard that this café is a very popular place so we were afraid we would have to wait a long time to be seated, however we did not have to wait at all and were seated directly (we came in the morning at around 10:00 am). The food (omelette and avocado bread) was delicious and quite cheap, especially for such a widely known café. The cakes also looked delicious however we did not get to try them as we were already full from the main dishes 😂😅😋 Would definitely recommend this place🍽️🍵

For lunch I got the chicken breast with paprika sauce and Strudel and my mother had the turkey buffers with a small baby lettuce and potato salad on the side. The food was phenomenal and don’t get me started on the desserts. Every single dessert they had to offer looked amazing. After eating my entire main dish I still wanted a dessert (but on the smaller side). So I ended up getting the tiramisu, which was a player to my tastebuds. I definitely recommend going to café Louvre for brunch, lunch, dinner of for a simple coffee with one of their amazing desserts!! If you’re planning to go for dinner or other peak hours I would make a reservation. We got lucky and barely had to wait but when we were leaving there was a line of roughly 15 people. Overal 5/5 ⭐️

Café Louvre is a place full of history: it first opened in 1902 and still preserves the Belle Époque charm. The high ceilings, large windows, and classic décor create a special atmosphere, almost like stepping back in time. It feels warm and inviting rather than overly formal, though it does get quite busy during peak hours. Most of the guests are tourists, with only a few locals, which takes away a bit of authenticity but also shows how internationally renowned it has become. For starters, we tried a fresh salad and a well-prepared pâté, both with delicate, balanced flavors. For the main courses, we had an omelet and a chicken breast — both dishes were surprisingly flavorful, with a unique touch that shows care in the kitchen. The dining experience was simple in appearance but of higher quality than expected. Overall, Café Louvre combines history, atmosphere, and good food. It’s worth a visit to experience a piece of Prague’s café tradition, knowing you’ll be sharing the space with visitors from all over the world.
Arne R — Google review
Cafe Louvre is a great restaurant with long history of over 120 years! Before entering the restaurant, the huge antique chandelier impressed me. The interior environment and atmosphere were nice. We could feel its history. The overall experience was great. We arrived at around 10 am and it was almost full house. There was a wide ranges of breakfast varieties. As a brunch, we ordered a Czech breakfast, strong beef broth, croissant with egg and a cup of chocolate. For each table, a basket of breads was served. If we noticed that earlier, we would order less items. All foods were tasty. The Czech breakfast set was a great combo with Czech ham and cheeses of two kinds, salads, a piece of cake, a boiled egg with freshly pressed orange juice. For me, the traditional strong beef broth tasted special and yummy. As for the chocolate drink, it was a bit too thick for me. Luckily it was served with fresh cream. Maybe a coffee for the next visit. There were small cards on some of the tables with names and time slots marked. Guess advanced reservations are possible. The total amount was around Czh$600 for 2 persons. It was a very reasonable price considering the foods of high quality and decent presentation, perfect atmosphere and nice service. A good dining experience. Recommended!

I have found this place 10 years ago accidentally, and fell in love with their brownies immediately. 📍Place: located only a few steps from the the Old Town, quite spacious, modern atmosphere. 🍛 Food: I have tried the carrot cake and the cranberry brownies of course... Both of them are gooey, sweet, not dry at all, very flavourful. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: there is counter service, they are quick and kind.

A charming place to have coffee with something sweet next to it when you're in the old town in Prague. The service is very efficient and friendly. The sweet department was excellent. Their eggs are a bit too moist for my taste but I'm not going to hold it against them. Prices are a bit high for Prague but the location's and the atmosphere are worth it.

Lately I only post negative reviews but this accidental find was worthy of a good review. It's a little bakery featuring coffee drinks and baked goods. Didn't have to wait long at all. We ordered the chicken Pastie, beef Pastie, and a bowl of Potato Leak soup. Everything was really good. If I lived in Prague I would definitely keep this in my regular rotation. An amazing ambiance and fresh bakery products. The Savoy Cake was one of the best I’ve ever tried. I also strongly recommend the Almond Croissant.

My husband and I went there for a light breakfast and were quite impressed. Their system was a bit different for us, in that we needed to order and pay at the counter—but it was helpful to view the pastries when placing the order (and likely increase sales!), as it helped to set a less formal tone, than one would expect with the elegant ambience. The lattes, egg breakfast and apple pastry (I don’t recall the name) were quite tasty. I would return.

Still had plenty available late afternoon to choose from. Upstairs is where you need to be for takeaway orders. We got Pistachio Cheesecake and a Větrník which were both incredible. Wish we got more, if you visit Prague please ignore the funnel cakes and just get this

Amazing place for traditional Czech pastry. The staff - super friendly. The interior is authentic early 1900's and it is worth visiting just for the decor. The Větrník was my fav, though the original version is a monster. If you find the miniature version in stock, you are lucky. The Věneček is a more tamed version. Visited twice during my 3 day stay and will certainly visit again 😎

Lovely patisserie I’d been meaning to try, and it didn’t disappoint. Easy to find a spot on weekdays (even with a stroller). I had the Myšák Sundae and a Cappuccino, both delicious and clearly made with quality ingredients. Ordering is either at the counter or via the qerko app (you need to install it if you want to place an order, which took me about 10 minutes to set up, a bit of a hassle). It can get a little noisy with chatter, but that just adds to the cozy vibe if you like some background “white noise” while working.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. It was not particularly busy, which made for a relaxed and comfortable visit. The interior is very attractive. Clean, elegant, and a tasteful mix of classical and modern design. The display of pastries and cakes was beautifully presented, and everything looked carefully made. You order and pay at the counter; your items are then brought to the table. Service was friendly and efficient. We had two coffees. A cappuccino and a flat white. The cappuccino was smooth and well-balanced. The flat white had a stronger flavour, which my husband preferred. My husband ordered 2 mini cakes: • Tarteletka (= lemon curd w/ Swiss meringue) • Laskonka (= coconut meringue w/ buttercream) I ordered a slice of the Harlekýn cake (= chocolate sponge layered with dark and white chocolate cream). Everything tasted fresh and well made.

Cukrárna Alchymista, also known as the Alchemist sugar shop and cafe, is a charming family-owned establishment located in Prague's Letna district. This retro sweet shop and tea room offers a delightful outdoor seating area within a beautiful English garden featuring a small fish pond. The interior is inspired by the First Republic period, with wooden walls and an allegorical alchemy-themed painted ceiling.
The café is small but nicely decorated with tasteful details. A pleasant surprise was the cat wandering around. The coffee and cakes were very good—though on the expensive side, they seemed to be homemade, and the quality justified the price. They also offer alternative milk options, which is a nice touch. The cake display was a bit confusing, as there were almost no price tags or descriptions. The staff was friendly and welcoming. There’s also a small children’s corner, which some guests might appreciate. I wouldn’t recommend it for coworking, but overall, it was a nice experience. Thank you!

The Gingerbread Museum is a delightful destination for gingerbread enthusiasts and those looking to explore the Czech tradition of making and decorating these seasonal treats. The museum offers a wide variety of intricately decorated gingerbread cookies, including adorable gingerbread men, perfect for celebrating special occasions like Christmas. Visitors can also purchase pre-packaged or single cookies from the on-site bakery. The museum doubles as a store, offering an assortment of decorative gingerbread creations for sale.
We came during December and the feels is very Chrismassy. The whole shops smells Christmas from the oven to the ginger breads. Everything in the shop was either as a gift or for personal. The cookies were light and delightful with tea or coffee. A must visit when in town.

Located at the souvenir shopping street of Nerudova. It is not a Museum but a dedicated cute shop just for Gingerbread. They have a variety of selections and themes. A section of store displays models of town centrum which might be visually interesting for kids. You might find some gifting options with cute mugs and cookies. Last thought it is that touristy however cute.
Surupa C — Google review
Like so many "museums" in Prague, this is not really a museum but actually just a shop. The cookies look wonderful and the shop is really cute. It smells like nice spices in the shop, but the cookies don't have any flavour. I've baked gingerbread a few times with my grandmother–I would expect these professional bakers to make cookies that are at least better than what I can do myself. But I was very disappointed by the lack of flavour. I spent a lot of money there because the cookies were also expensive. I wanted to give them to my family as a souvenir, but now that I've tasted them, I might not even gift them. You can try it yourself, but I recommend buying one and trying it first before you buy a lot.

We visited the “Gingerbread Museum” in Prague, which is actually a shop selling Gingerbread. When you walk in, you immediately smell gingerbread, and the cookies are made in the shop. It was really sweet seeing the cookies being handmade and decorated. I bought a small bag of gingerbread including a bear and a heart. If I’m being honest, I’ve tasted better gingerbread, however, I still think it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Cake shop
This Czech retro cake shop with two locations in Vinohrady and Letna is popular for its cakes, which are said to be good. The cafe has a 1930s-era interior and logo, and the pastries follow the local tradition. The cafe is known for its caramels (vetrnik) which ranked high in a Prague pastry challenge.
Amazing choice of fabulous cakes, chocolates for both take out or to enjoy inside. Comfortable seating - bench and chairs - you can chose to sit at the front by the large shop window and mirrored wall, or at the back at a slightly quieter area. The coffee and tea selection is good as well as the cold drinks menu of home made lemonades and freshly squeezed orange juice. Try not to hesitate and be precise with your selection as the staff are busy and a bit stressed when there's a queue. They also don't accept credit cards, cash only tills. The interior is inspired by the First Republic (Czechoslovakia in the period between 1918 and 1938) and the design concept is far away from modern hipster coffee shop.

A little nice café located on the Jiriho z Podebrad square, where it's a little bit protruding into the street, so you won't miss it. They offer a wide variety of desserts and pastries. We tried three of their cakes and they were all delicious! They also have variety of coffees for you to choose from to accompany your cake. If a you are a fan of matcha, you can even find here a matcha latte. I don't think a reservation is needed, even tho place can be crowded sometimes.

Erhartova cukrárna was an unexpected surprise during my exploration of the Vinohrady neighborhood. A retro gem taking you back to the 'good old days', when modernism was in style and craftsmanship was a norm. Stylish, clean and simple. Nice selection of beautifully looking and tasty cakes, ice creams and other desserts. What's the the 'cherry on the top'? The prices! It's waay cheaper than the tourist packed old town. Definitely worth of detour if you're mainly exploring places around Karov Most (Charles Bridge).
Bart — Google review
I was told that this is the best patisserie in Prague. I’ll be honest, the price is very very nice and fair, 45kč - 65kč for a piece of cake, coffee around 40kč. A big range of choices, nice interior. The service is very Czech, not warm not cold. :)) and they DON’T accept cards!!! You order and pay at the counter, the order will be brought to you later. I had blueberry mousse and something like strawberry cheesecake. They both looked fantastic! As for the taste, I liked the cheesecake more, it’s less sweet, the mousse was way too sweet and unfortunately I didn’t feel blueberry taste. 🙃 Anyway, this is definitely the best you can have for this price! Worth to go if are in a mood for something sweet and inexpensive.

Amazing pastry shop with great cakes, tasty and not too sweet. The little corner for children is really great as it allows me to have a treat while my daughter can play. I recommend

Etapa is a charming bakery and cafe located in the heart of Karlin, run by friends Gabi and Peter. Despite opening just before the pandemic, they have thrived with their excellent customer service and online presence. The bakery prides itself on using traditional methods to bake fresh bread, rolls, and cakes on-site with in-season ingredients from local Czech farmers. Their warm interior filled with plants and flowers creates a cozy atmosphere for enjoying their delicious brunch menu.
The café is incredibly beautiful! The place is truly fascinating, with stunning decor that adds so much charm. The staff were extremely helpful and kind, and the atmosphere was filled with positive energy. I really enjoyed having coffee and dessert in this lovely spot. The outdoor seating overlooks a quiet and beautiful street, making the experience even more special. This café is an absolute must-visit – one of the best by far! ⭐️

One of my favourite places for coffee/breakfast/brunch in Karlin. Menu is great and food/drinks never disappoint. Food menu is creative and adaptable to dietary requirements. Menu usually changes once a week and they have specials of the day. Service is fantastic and lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

Cozy little brunch spot with unique flavors and food options. We went with the grilled cheese sandwich and the baked “langos.” The grilled cheese had thick bread, plenty of melty cheese and pickled veggies. The baked langos was similar to a flatbread pizza with a sauce that reminded me a bit of buffalo sauce flavor. The dish was rich and filling and quite unique!

This was one of the yummiest and most vegetable forward brunches i’ve had in a while!! everything here is homemade with local ingredients and it shows. the flavours are amazing. the tempeh is unlike any i’ve eaten before, it had a great rich taste to it and was so soft. the servers were super nice and friendly and spoke english which was great for me as a tourist! would come again. do try the broth cup, it was sooo delish

While enjoying my breakfast, I couldn’t help but write this — everything felt truly special. ✨ The Nut granola with yogurt, baked plums, quince, and nut butter and the Sweet porridge with cocoa, baked pears, and hazelnut caramel tasted like something from a Michelin-level kitchen — elegant, warm, and full of soul. A quiet morning, good coffee, and food made with love. 🌿☕️💛

Bakery
If you're wandering through Prague and find yourself in Vinohrady, make sure to stop by Kus Koláče, a delightful bakery that has quickly become a local favorite. Known for its irresistible koláče—sweet pastries filled with fruit or other delicious fillings—this charming spot often sees long lines of eager customers waiting for the next batch to come out of the oven.
📍Place: it is a very small place, mainly served for takeaway, a couple of tram/bus stops from the old town. Because of that it seems it's aiming the locals, as everything is written in Czech. 🍛 Food: all looked really good, it was hard to choose but we have ended up with an apple pie flavoured kolac, and a gingerbread flavoured cake. Both of them tasted even better than they seemed - gooey, lots of flavour (not only sugar), and certainly freshly made on the spot. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: they are super welcoming and nice, speaking English well and happy to explain the pastries to help you in your choice.
Viktor L — Google review
I was told this is the best place to try koláče in Prague, and I’m not here to dispute it. I got both flavors of the pastry + a pistachio cinnamon bun. All three were delicious-sweet, of course! - but not overly so. The pastries are best fresh, of course- but they also held up well. These three pastries were my breakfast for two weeks: each morning I spent nibbling away at it them with a cup of black tea was a lovely morning-So, so, so, lovely! P.S.: My fellow Americans (you too, Brits) please try your best to learn a little bit of Czech - enough to point and order and say how you’re paying! There are staff who know English well, but being mindful of the line I would have picked up more of the language in advance so as not to hold it up. The staff was very polite and patient, but I was very aware of the line trailing out of the store hungrily awaiting these delicious treats & drooling behind me (ok, maybe I’m being dramatic, but the pastries are just THAT good!). Brings me to my next point - be prepared to wait in line- there’s a line from opening until they run out (and they do run out). I arrived a few minutes before opening and one had already formed! No worries, it moves quick (quicker if everyone knows what they want in advance 😉), and as you’ve already read, I think it’s worth the wait.
Mari H — Google review
@honestguide recommend. Myself and another viewer were one and two in line. Total of 22 singles/small groups were in line at 14:50, and remainfer were locals. I was there a half hour early, really late from when I first wanted to go since I got distracted by the great neighborhood; watch how they are made while you wait and you can see the quality. Well worth the trip, Kolace was fantastic.
Marc P — Google review
Excellent place to get a Kolach, I heard of this place via the Honest Guides. It is definitely the best Kolach I have ever had. They make them multiple times per day, but do get there early because the line quickly stretches around the block.
Michel P — Google review
I pass this bakery when I'm walking to the gym. It takes every ounce of willpower to walk past the display in the window and not stop by. The only lucky thing is they are usually sold out by the time I leave the gym mid day. If I stop and look at the display I will decide to get one. I will go in and point out the one I want in the window display, decide to add another and then notice the display inside in front of me has a totally different group of beautiful pastries. Might as well get a box to carry them home in. The box has room for 4 so I might as well get 4 to balance the box out. I will eat them in 2 days. This place is wonderful. I've tried maybe 10 bakeries in Prague and this place is absolutely the best. There are long lines of people waiting for it to open in the morning and lines for hours. It's really good.
Daniel R — Google review
Saw this bakery on Instagram and knew I had to try it! We came here on our last day in Prague and OMG wish we went there before because it was delish! The lady that served us was super lovely and the cake was delish! Photos don’t do it justice so I am sorry for that but believe me when I say, go here!! We got; red velvet cupcake, banana bread, blueberry pastry.

Pekárna Praktika is a beloved organic bakery located on the border of Vinohrady and Vrsovice. The owner, Tomas Solak, takes pride in using freshly stone-milled flour for his artisanal breads and pastries, which adds more flavor and nutritional value to the products. He oversees the entire bread-making process and collaborates with small farmers to source grains, aiming to revive old heritage grains from centuries ago.
Lovely homemade sourdough bread and I have to mention my girlfriend's cappuccino. My filter coffee was good, but here cappuccino was orgasmic. I'm not into cappuccino's but even I loved that one. It was super fruity. We talked to the staff and figured out it was their own in-house roasted coffee. Well done!

I had a lovely morning at this place. The staff were friendly and the food was top-notch. I had a plum pastry and a cheese sandwich. Both were amazing. All the ingredients were clearly fresh and of high quality. The pastry was creamy and perfectly balanced, definitely not too sweet. The sandwich was super crispy and full of flavor. I definitely recommend visiting this place if you're in Prague

A bit pricy but worth every crown in the end. The best croissants I tasted thus far in Prague. Excellent bread as well. On top of that they have excellent service.
Hans M — Google review
A very cozy bakery in Karlín with a selection of sweet pastries and freshly baked bread. This bakery was on my list for a very long time as I love they use local flours and mill the flour themselves. I went for breakfast and got 3 pastries to be able to test as much as possible. First thing I tried is the traditional check koláč with apricots. The dough was very soft not dry at all, it was filled with jam and apricots and topped with some oat crumble. Very nice, enjoyed it a lot. It´s very different to other kolaches I tried in Prague so if you want to try something slightly different I´d give it a go. Second thing I had was their poppy seed makovka which was also nice, not dry at all and the poppy seed filling had a nice hidden flavour of orange or something? I also feel like all of the pastries had some cardamon or anise it as there was something unusual in the dough. Last thing and my favorite thing was concha, I have never heard about this pastry so I had to ask what it is. Essentially it´s a brioche with fleur d´oranger and a nice crockant on top which creates this crackly top. Again the dough is top notch, you can really taste the fleur d´oranger. And the sweet crockant on top provide some much needed texture contrast. Overal I like it, it wasn´t overpriced, would recommend!

Prague has a lot of good bakeries. This is for sure one of the best ones, every product is baked to perfection, no matter if savoury or sweet - every single item is out of this world delicious. They even do canelé which are hard to find out of france, and even those were 10/10 - try everything you can!

Expanding horizons. Koláč, pizza bread, sandwiches... I hadn't expected much from these common kinds, and, they were incredibly delicious here. Koláč was perfectly sweet without being dry. And I didn't know the pizza bread could be this tasty when it's cold...

If you're wandering through Prague and have a sweet tooth, make sure to stop by Cacao Prague. This charming establishment seamlessly blends the vibes of a cafe, confectionery, restaurant, and lounge. Just a stone's throw from the iconic Powder Tower and Municipal House, it boasts an inviting interior where you can indulge in an array of homemade desserts that are simply irresistible. From their rich ice cream to delectable cakes, every bite is crafted with care and creativity.
I love the choice of food, which offers both classic and alternative and healthy options, all with delicious flavours. There are multiple gluten free and vegan options. They have 3 raw cakes that are both dairy and gluten free and I love them, they taste absolutely delicious and you can't even realise they are gluten free. Both salty and sweet options. They also have fresh smoothies with an offer of alternative vegan milks. Recommended dishes gluten free and vegan: hot chocolate if you like it dense, ice-cream shakes, matcha smoothie and for all 3 ask for vegan milk. Raw lime cake, raw pistachio cake, raw orange chocolate cake. Buddha bowl can also be gluten free (it comes with quinoa and pita bread so you can request it without bread). My friends who eats gluten they often order club sandwiches and tiramisu. The atmosphere is nice both indoors and on the outside terrace. The staff is kind and polite most of the times: you can get very good service even in moments when all tables are occupied. they have some great waitress(es) that are there from longer period and are absolutely amazing, and other newer ones that rotate. My favourite waitress is the girl who always wears the glasses with yellow lenses. They accept reservations for larger groups. The place is clean.

We were sat really quickly and our food came within around 5-10 mins of ordering. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced and the drinks were good too. My boyfriend’s empty plate was taken while I was still eating (which didn’t bother us), however after I had finished, my empty plate was left in front of me for about 20 minutes. The cafe wasn’t that busy and there were waiters free the entire time. I put my empty plate in front of my boyfriend so I could finish my drink and it was cleared from in front of him in less than 2 minutes. Not sure if there’s a reason for this that we’re unaware of? Food was great, but the issue with the service stuck in our minds.

It was my first time in Cacao and I liked it! I found this place by coincidence on Google Maps to get some breakfast. The location is very good as it is close to the centre of Prague heading to Old Town. The food was very good, especially the cakes that are presented beautifully. The service was very friendly, kind, and professional. I did not have to wait long for the food to come as well as the bill. The atmosphere was nice, very modern look and very spacious, which is great. Also, the prices are good. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here, and I will definitely come back here some day when visiting Prague.

We wanted something sweet so we popped into Cocoa, the terrace is very special but it was full so we went inside. Less special. The cakes were reasonable and not really cold, and the chocolate and fruit milkshake wasn't the most special either. And again not cold like a milkshake should be. Quite disappointing. Too bad

When I came to this place, I was hoping to get good service and delicious food🤤, since my previous experience here had been positive🙂. But unfortunately, the evening was ruined😢. Not only did I have to wait more than 40 minutes for my order, but when I finally received it, I found spoiled ingredients in my dish. 😪 Naturally, the desire to continue eating just disappeared. They also specialize in ice cream infused with spirits such as slivovice plum brandy, Mojito, Campari, and Baileys.
Pleasantly surprised by this ice cream spot in Prague! We’d seen the glowing reviews and posts on social media, and there were queues every time we walked past — always a good sign. When we finally tried it, it definitely lived up to the hype. Great selection of flavours, really rich and creamy, and everything tasted super fresh. Worth the wait and a must-try for ice cream lovers in the city.

After having this gelato location recommended by a tour guide I can say that the ice cream is wonderful. I tried the lemon and strawberry sorbet with vanilla gelato and sat in the shop to have mine. I would encourage you to go inside and take a table. There was always a queue outside but it moved quickly. The staff were very helpful, spoke English and the shop was clean and welcoming.

Rly nice ice cream. Had white chocolate with almonds in a poppy seed cone. Ice cream had a nice and creamy texture and a good flavor without being overly sweet. The cone was a special for an extra 30Kc and I'd say worth it. You can actually taste the poppy seeds v clearly and the cone is big and vvv crunchy! My partner had salted chocolate w caramel in a cinnamon cone and loved it too! Paid a total of 208Kc
L — Google review
The portions are generous, and the gelato is flavorful, though a bit too sweet for my taste. The place often gets busy, so be prepared for a long wait. Opting for the homemade waffle significantly increased the price, which was a bit unexpected. Also, being prompted to leave a tip—even with the option to skip—felt like an unpleasant gesture. Coconut and pistachios flavours were very nice, caramel is fine, the chocolate was very strong and the waffles are very sweet.
Hossein S — Google review
This is a cute and cosy place with friendly staff. There is a good offer of vegan options but mostly sorbet, and in addition to that there were just two creamy flavours: salted caramel and chocolate. The ice cream was nice, I really liked the salted caramel one. The chocolate was good too, really rich, but I prefer sweater tastes. There's plenty of seating space and the place looked really nice.

Pictures of texture on surface of the gelato lead me here. Tried chocolate, pistachio, white chocolate with almonds, and coconut. I prefer chocolate and pistachio. You can do half & half at this venue.

I visited this place after reading the positive reviews on Google Maps, and although I was initially a bit unsure, it truly exceeded my expectations, it was a fantastic experience! One of the best parts is the wide variety of flavors available, all served in delicious homemade cones. Each of us ordered completely different options, and every one was outstanding. I was especially thrilled to find salted chocolate, it was rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely hit the spot. The hazelnuts, raspberry, dark chocolate with cherry and the lemon were also favorites in our group, each offering a refreshing and flavorful twist. A particularly sweet and thoughtful detail is that they offer free water, which is a lovely gesture, especially appreciated while enjoying ice cream. You can also sit inside in a cozy, clean space and enjoy your ice cream in comfort. Overall, the quality, taste, and atmosphere make it well worth the price. A must-visit for any ice cream lover!

Had dinner in the patio in the back, nice shady and cozy spot - a respite from a warm summer day (and the crowds). The beer sampler was good, would have all again. Visited today for the first and last time. Terrible unfriendly service. When we ordered coffee and dessert, the coffee came about 5 minutes after dessert was brought. Pavlova I had wasn't fresh at all. When I told service, they took it away without saying anything. No sorry, no info about further procedure and no offer of an alternative. Afterwards a lady came with a deduction receipt and that is all she said. Coffee was average and other deserts were normal, definitely nothing extra ordinary. My cup of coffee, located in the Karlin neighborhood, is a popular urban cafe known for its serious approach to coffee. Operated by Doubleshot, a Prague-based specialty coffee roastery, the cafe offers a selection of freshly-baked treats and light meals alongside its signature coffee. The rustic-style cafe has become a favorite meeting spot for locals and visitors alike.
This place offers comfortable seating either inside or outside on the street. The staff are quick to help you order and the menu is both in English and Czech. The coffee is the tastiest and richest I've had in Prague. I recommend the iced late, as that's my go to, but they make basically any coffee you can think about. It also offers a wide array of brunches, lunches and dinners as well as a good assortment of cakes, pastry and cheesecakes for your sweet tooth.

Cute little cafe/restaurant serving interesting selections of the brunch items coffee and wines etc. The coffee for me was little watery. We loved this café 😍 We came here for breakfast and ordered the Turkish Eggs (“çılbır” in turkish)—thank you for that, they were delicious! The café isn’t in a crowded area, and they have outdoor tables. It was a sunny day, so we ended up spending more time than expected, just relaxing in peace.
Özlem Ç — Google review
Honestly, a very chill and calm place to sit in Karlín, with a long-standing reputation and really kind service. But that’s not everything. Let’s say the coffee is very good quality and nicely prepared, I also tried the Turkish eggs. If I compare the price, taste, and preparation, it’s not that great. The eggs don’t have a runny yolk, the seasoning is okay, and the yogurt is fine. The brioche, though, wasn’t anything special, I’d much rather have a good slice of buttered bread. Considering the dish costs over 200 CZK and the main task is to cook decent eggs (which isn’t exactly rocket science), it’s just not worth it. It’s a pity, sending greetings to the kitchen, hoping they’ll put a bit more effort into it next time. I probably won’t order food there again, but the espresso tonic was just fine.

This cafe is made for multiple visits! Great vibes + actual good coffee. I went on the weekend twice and loved their English Breakfast plate. It is a BIIIIG plate. Perfect for brunch and the food is worth the money. It's a popular cafe so avoid peak hours or make a rezzy. But definitely try going for brunch, it is a 10/10 spot for that. Also, if you're a coffee lover, they take their roasting very seriously, so you're assured a quality cuppa Joe.

EMA Espresso Bar is a popular coffee spot with three locations in Prague, known for its stylish modern venues and delicious coffee. The Karlin location, designed by architects Kristina Magasanikova and Roman Prachar, features a beautiful wall mural by Lumir Kajnar. Despite its limited menu and seating options, EMA remains profitable by focusing on quality coffee. It can get crowded during peak hours as locals gather to catch up or grab take-out coffees for nearby activities.
Great coffee place ! Had the espresso tonic, which was balanced and light. The filter coffee was on another level, impressing a non-coffee enthusiast. Toast sandwiches were very good and fresh. Would recommend !

Quick. Cool. Chilled. Worth going for a coffee no doubt. Its a very laid back atmosphere so you could be sitting on a chair, a box outside, a ledge, whatever, the coffee was nice. And the building across the road looks great. Order at the till and staff then bring the coffee to wherever you set yourself down.

We’ve been coming to this place a few times on different trips, and it always feels a bit different from other spots. The decor and vibe stand out — there’s a giant table in the middle, seating by the windows, a cozy area at the bottom of the stairs, and some outdoor seating as well. It’s almost always busy with customers, which is always a good sign. The drinks are consistently great, and the pastries we’ve tried have been very good too. While we usually stop by just for drinks, one pastry in particular — topped with fresh raspberries (see the photo) — was absolutely delightful. The tartness of the raspberry adds such a refreshing touch that the first bite brought an instant smile to my face. All in all, it’s a lovely spot for drinks and catching up with friends, or a relaxing stop if you can come when it’s a bit quieter.

Coffee is good and of good quality. We ordered flat white - can recommend. They don’t really to takeaway coffee - I think it would be great for them to let people know well in advance. Either you come with the reusable cup - or you lend a reusable cup from them (you get your money back when you return it), no single-use cups. They claim it for the ecology, but I doubt the efficiency of this approach and would love to learn if this really works (or how lending reusable cups help). In short - they need to tell people this well in advance somehow - eg sign on the door. Sitting inside is ok. There is a big communal table and a little space near the windows. For me it wasn’t too cozy though, but you have very few options. Service is friendly and professional.

I had the chance to try three drinks at EMA Espresso Bar, and each one was a standout in its own way: I began with a classic espresso—absolutely lovely, with a bright citrus note that hit just right. Clean, vibrant, and full of character. Next up was the Esprese Dino, a refreshing and clean drink that perfectly complemented the espresso. The grapefruit element tied the flavors together beautifully, creating a light, balanced experience. I ended with the Cascara Cream—a subtle, citrusy, and gently sweet drink with soft earthy undertones. It was both unique and comforting, the kind of drink that lingers in your memory. EMA is truly a fabulous spot for coffee in Prague—creative, quality-driven, and relaxed. Highly recommend for any coffee lover.

I was looking for a good coffee in the early morning hours in the city of Prague , and I found myself alone in front of this café. I went in—the place was so nice, beautifully designed—and I asked, “What’s the best coffee here?” The barista recommended a “Nicaragua” and that was actually the first time I ever tried it in my life. Since then, I’ve been hooked. The coffee is really high quality, and the flavor stayed in my mouth for hours. I sat at the bar—this bar, it turns out, is popular with the locals. I enjoyed my coffee while watching all the people inside the bar. The Czechs were really nice, laughing, smiling in the morning, chatting—it was such a memorable experience, one I still remember vividly to this day.

Our top favorite cafe with Czech traditional desserts in Prague ❤️ Coffee was delightfully tasty and traditional cakes truly inspiring . Cozy vintage atmosphere with charming French background music . Perfect place for starting your day with subtle tastes and positive vibes. The young hostesses were also brilliant with their friendly reference and hearted service. In our five days trip in Prague, we visited the cafe for 3 times and it truly added a wonderful pattern to our whole Czech adventure. Thank U once again and wish U all the best ❤️

A nice place to cool down after walking around Prague castle. At a glance from the outside, it doesn't seem like a pattisiere, but inside it was very cute decorated. They offered plenty of (delicious) cakes, and it was difficult to choose one. The service was nice, cake was small yet dense and delicious. Almost ordered a second cake hadn't we had a dinner appointment afterwards 😂I like their iced coffee as well.

Good coffee is hard to come by, but excellent coffee is near impossible in Prague. But this place delivers, I am so happy. The cakes and desserts are also top notch as well. It is a really good place to stop by if you are in the area.

Its actually quite nice here! From the outside it does not look very inviting but the inside is pleasing. They have a nice variety of mini cakes 🎂 that you can choose from. Staff was nice too! But no music ? Therefore the atmosphere was a little off. Tea and coffee were both delicious 🍵

Good strong coffee. Lemonade is more of a subtle flavoured water. Old atmosphere with traditional style. The sweets and cakes are better than the savoury.

Such pretty local bakery, although limited sitting. We were taken here by a local to try different Czech pastries. Sat outside, and it was such cozy spot! I can’t remember the name of the pastries but the purple jelly was black currant (I believe) and the chocolate cake had some banana in it. Both were really good and freshly made!

7:30 am, we get in the bakery and while a young, smiling, blonde girl is taking our order, an older woman with short hair that she wasn't in the mood of working obviously, was talking loudly to us in Czech probably saying to go to her in the cashier to pay, after repeating herself , you could see that she was annoyed by us not understanding, she left and she comment something to her colleague. Rude and unpleasant experience. Unfortunately even though the rest of the employees where normal and kind, her existence in front of the cashier especially in the morning, will make some clients run away. The breakfast was nothing special and the palacinka a bit empty.

Best bakery in town. Wide choice of self made products and bread, always fresh, tasty and served with smile. It's a self service, so there is a queue that moving fast. Fare prices and lovely deserts. My all time favorite place to go to on a Sunday or Saturday morning. Every time we go the products are always fresh and really tasty. If I would live next to it, i would be there constantly. I highly recommend it, definitely try both salty and sweet products, either way you will leave happy.

Excellent coffee shop if you like chocolate 😁 everything was super tasty! We had hot chocolate, chocolate cake, some biscuits, some apple mouse with white chocolate and a cappuccino. There is also a chocolate SHOP inside where you can get various chocolates to drink or to eat. Staff was really friendly and they speak English as well 🙃

The place was great and they have wonderful drinks. The staffs were very kind and nice The price is bit expensive for their chocolate 170kc for a chocolate less than 50g soon they will be more expensive than a piece of silver. Nice place to chill down but slightly priced higher

Coffee roasters
Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Alf & Bet, located in the Palmovka area of Prague, is a versatile establishment housed in what appears to be a former mechanics shop or large garage, giving it an industrial vibe. This spot serves as a coffee shop that roasts its own beans on-site, a bakery offering delectable pastries and sourdough bread, and a kitchen serving simple dishes and breakfast. Despite its somewhat remote location, Alf & Bet draws in bustling crowds on weekend mornings.
A unique spot in Palmovka for all lovers of coffee and baked goods. This place is essentially the best marriage of two crafts, not only does this place produce fantastic coffee roasted in-house, they also bake amazing pastries right in front of your eyes. I really love the industrial esthetic of this place, being able to see under the hands of bakers and baristas doing their job. In terms of food there is a nice balance of savory and sweet choices. I tried their butter croissant, salted caramel bun and an almond filled pastry. Everything was really good, on the smaller side so you can definitely afford to try multiple! I always order a simple croissant since you really cannot hide behind its simplicity. I will say that I think there are better buttery croissants in Prague, however this one was still really nice and flaky! For the other two, they were also nice but I think they were lacking a touch more sweetness. Really just a bit extra and it would be perfect! Looking forward to coming back to taste their breads and savory options!
Katarína P — Google review
Coffee is great, the bakery is even better! Their toast with tofu is my ultimate comfort food 🥹 I love their decision to ditch single use coffee cups. Last but not least: the staff is always friendly!
Anna A — Google review
Coffe is great as well as their loaves of bread. Bakery could use a bit more variety with flaky pastries (they do not have any type of croissants). Also, if they are 2 orders of coffee and pastry, pls give 2 trays or mini plates as it is uncomfortable to share one big plate while eating something crumbly
Sonia R — Google review
Cannot explain how tasty a sourdough bread from here is. Worth to try 100%. I also bought one buchta with apple pure and one rebarborový koláč. I like that the gough itself wasn't sweet, but the filling was sweet. The best combination!
Julinka — Google review
New wave coffee and bakery spot. I had kolač and lungo with milk.
Atahan C — Google review
And industrial-like coffee/bakery place that will leave you in awe. The pastries look out of this world. Took only the traditional "buchta" bun, that was fresh but probably not the best option out there. The coffee was delicious. Overall nothing negative to say, place has industrial vibe with good choice of coffee and pastries, their own bread and even some soup of it. Sounds like perfect breakfast place to stop by.
Patrik K — Google review
This place pays homage to the industrial past of the area. The ambiance is beautifully raw. It is a part of a local chain (EMA) and they clearly know what it takes to create a coffee place, so it’s a safe bet. Additionally, if you’re always on the lookout for a spectacular coffee like me, you won’t find any better option around these parts of town (the closest to look for this kind of quality would be in Karlin two subway stops away). Their batch brew is just wonderful and so is in fact their tea. That’s quite rare, as even the better places in Prague haven’t mastered tea preparation yet. I think they could still work a bit on their food offer, but I’m okay with it and I appreciate that there isn’t too many options. I grabbed my coffee to go, but there are a few seats, so if you’re looking for a place to work on your laptop a bit or just chat with friends, this is your best bet in Palmovka and Liben.
Steve S — Google review
One of the best cafés slash bakeries in the Prague 8 and definitely the best in the Palmovka area. Their coffees are top notch and they make the best fresh bread the money can probably buy you. The cakes are only slightly above average and a bit overpriced, same goes for the breakfast/brunch meals. Still, we were coming back for years and will stay loyal in the future, because Alf & Bet knows their trade.

Lehká hlava, a vegetarian restaurant located in a 500-year-old building, offers a unique dining experience in Prague. The interior is adorned with night sky murals and designer lampshades, creating an artistic and peaceful atmosphere. The menu features delicious meat-free dishes like bulgur risotto with truffle oil, chanterelles, portobello mushroom, mustard dressing and parmesan cheese.
What a unique restaurant exclamation the service was great and the food was excellent. We had a great opportunity to try a Czech food that was vegan, even though traditionally that is not possible. The quantity of the food is large, so be prepared to be full when you’re done. I would highly recommend this place if you are vegan and want to try something that is native to the area. The decor insight is very inviting and very unique. The tables were lite up which was very entertaining for my child.

Never expected such a lovely vegetarian food on the day of reaching Prague. Thanks to Airbnb lady for this recommendation. Excellent food, great service. This is situated in a very narrow street which is also interesting. The music inside was also very good.

I enjoyed my dinner here. This is a vegetarian restaurant but has plenty of vegan options. I had orange mint lemonade drink with a ginger shot, vegan burrito, and vegan snickers. It's located very centrally.

Absolutely delicious and really special vegetarian food which is arranged with so much love and in an extraordinarily unique way. If you want a really special dinner - expect an explosion of different tastes. Extremely recommendable: the broccoli steak, spinach chimney and the bun burger. Take care to leave space for mouthwatering desserts such as vegan snickers or mint Tiramisu. Really nice and friendly service.

If you’re looking for a stylish spot to enjoy a drink in the center of Prague, Café Café is worth a visit. We stopped by for a quick break and tried their Campari Spritz and a ristretto. The spritz was refreshing, well-balanced, and beautifully served – definitely the highlight of our visit. The coffee wasn’t the best I’ve had in Prague, but it was still enjoyable in the café’s chic and lively atmosphere. The interior is modern and vibrant, making it a great place to sit, relax, and people-watch in the heart of the city. Overall, Café Café Prague is a lovely spot for cocktails or a casual coffee in an elegant setting.

Came here as we were looking for something sweet and their raspberry cheesecake caught our attention. The host quickly showed us to a table for 2 and brought the drinks menu. My wife went up to the counter and ordered the cheesecake. We only asked for a bottle of tap water to have. The cheesecake was nice, and the raspberries on top of it were being kept together with gelatine. A nice quick sweet bite on our way back to the hotel.

I had high expectations for CaféCafé in the center of Prague (a place I had on my list for a while, although I tend to classify such central spots as “tourist traps”), but my visit was unfortunately disappointing. We stopped only for drinks and cake – I chose their banana-caramel cake (135 CZK) and an iced tea (89 CZK). To my shock, a small snail came up through the straw, probably from the mint in the tea. I immediately informed the staff, who apologized and offered to make a new tea, which I declined. However, I was surprised the iced tea was still charged in full; we only received a 20 % discount on the bill, which didn’t even cover its cost. The lack of clear communication on how they would resolve the issue left me feeling let down. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the café has great potential despite its tourist-trap vibe. At least the cake itself was very good, rich and tasty.

Don’t ever order this drink (iced latte chocolate). The chocolate in a cold drink solidified no mater how hard I tried to break it off. What a dumb drink! This place is wonderful! We happened upon it by chance and now it’s is my favorite cafe in Prague. I got an organic orange soda and beet goat cheese sandwich which were both delicious. The service was super sweet and the outdoor seating ideal! I hope to return one day whenever I have the good fortune of returning to Czechia!

A local and lovely place to eat. the food is rich in variety and in taste, the staff is kind and patient. an escape from the crammed restaurants at the center and a chance to experience the atmosphere of the daily life of the residents in Prague.

It is a very cozy place with limited seating and limited options on the menu, but the food is delicious. They serve some original preparations, and we really enjoyed eating something different. The pastry was delicious, and the coffee was great.

It’s an unassuming and cute place famous for their breakfasts and brunches. It feels welcoming, and there was a steady stream of people eating there or ordering takeaways. I arrived too late for the breakfasts they are famous for, and grilled sandwiches weren’t available, so I tried these instead: Hot lemonade: 8/10. Beef ham sandwich with pickles and cheese: 7/10. One of the better sandwiches I had in Prague.

Excellent place for breakfast! Started off with a smooth, well-brewed cappuccino! The Breakfast for Champions was super delicious. The egg scramble was creamy, and melted in my mouth! The sausages were very tasty and the bread was crispy! The carrot cake was a great addition after breakfast. It was dense but crumbly, and wasn't too sweet! A very cosy cafe, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming! Give this place a go!

A lovely, cozy place not so far from the center, 15 minutes by tram and you are there. I like such cafes, simple, where the most important thing is quality. Good filtered coffee. The breakfast of champions is large and tasty. Fantastic sausages! But the best was the banana bread. Excellent, I could eat it every day. Friendly and professional service. Cool, a must-visit place in Prague.

Beautiful place for an early breakfast. Very nice to discover they start to work at 7.30 AM. Quite booked at the beginning of the day, we took the last place to sit around 8 AM. The queue of people is always there for take-away orders. The dishes were well done and tasty. The coffee also was nice but the flat white was a bit stronger than usual since they serve it in a smaller cup. The size creates a bigger coffee/milk proportion and makes a taste a bit bitter. I recommend taking the sit in front of the window. The morning sun beams go directly there and the street covered with trees is beautiful. There is also a tiny bench outside the window where you can sit and drink coffee in the fresh air.

Artic Bakehouse is a beloved bakery in the heart of Prague, founded by an Icelandic baker who sought to fill the city's gap for quality bread. With multiple locations, it has become a go-to spot for both locals and tourists alike. The bakery offers an impressive variety of baked goods, from their signature Nutcracker bread filled with nuts to unique creations like blue cheese and white chocolate bread. Sweet treats are also plentiful, including delightful almond croissants and irresistible rolls known as love balls.
Great place! Delicious pastries and flavorful coffee — everything is high quality. The staff is attentive and friendly. Lovely atmosphere that makes you want to come back. Highly recommended!

My husband says the best pastries so far (we tried a lot in Madrid and Barcelona), they didn’t even make it back to the hotel. We got a black currant scone, a custard danish with marzipan (his favorite), and a ham and cheese croissant. Flaky crusts on the Danish and croissant, enough for the birds. The scone is the cake-like kind. Solid crust, but a little moist for me. However, still delicious with fresh currants and chocolate too!! The macchiato and flat white were great, as expected.

A superb bakery in Prague with a large selection of croissants, brownies, sweet and savoury brioches and beverages. The cinnamon rolls are the best in Prague, the danish brioches with almonds are delicious, with a perfect dough. The bread selection is also amazing.

It’s unbelievable how good this bakery is. The chocolate chip peanut butter cookie is one of the best cookies I’ve ever had. The double chocolate cookie is good as well. I don’t even like scones but the black carrot scone here was ridiculously good. There are many locations across Prague so make sure to visit. This is THE bakery to try in Prague. I came back every day and tried new things!

That bakery was sooo good. We went there every morning because of how good and fresh the products were. We loved the monkey muffin and the workers were soooo nice and helpful. Everything was perfect if I do return to Prague one day without a doubt this will be the first place I'll go to.

I’ve been in many (or maybe all) artic bakehouse in Prague…they’re mid for how much you’re gonna spend. I tried different pastries in different shops : they are okay but definitely not worth to spend money on. Also, they don’t have seats, so it’s only take away (maybe this is a sign to improve the quality 😵‍💫)

Manifesto Market Anděl, located in the off-the-radar Andel district on the west bank of the Vltava, offers a contemporary street food experience. The market is housed in a clever structure made from pastel-blue scaffolding and various reclaimed materials, giving it a trendy vibe. With at least 25 vendors spread throughout converted cargo containers, this former wasteland has become one of the city's most popular spots.
Great atmosphere! This feels like a young, vibrant hang out with lots of food choices. We had some Indian & Thai curries, cocktails and dumpling soup. Really would recommend this for anyone, especially tourists that have been looking at old buildings the whole day.

Manifesto Anděl is without a doubt one of the best places to eat, drink, and enjoy entertainment in Prague. This stylish food market in the heart of the city brings together international cuisine, refreshing cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere with live music and DJs – making it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists. We visited around lunchtime and loved the lively outdoor seating. Relaxing by the small pool in the sunshine created a unique and memorable experience. At Gohan Asian restaurant, we ordered the EBI tempura – perfectly crispy shrimp with chili sauce – along with fresh spring rolls and juicy karaage. Every bite was full of flavor. To drink, we tried a cherry cocktail that was both refreshing and tangy. At Taiko Ramen Bar, we enjoyed tasty Yaki Gyoza and fresh green beans, paired first with a classic Margarita and later with a frozen Margarita – both excellent choices. To finish our visit, we had a strong ristretto and a glass of prosecco while enjoying the DJ music, which gave the whole place a stylish and energetic vibe. If you’re looking for the best street food, cocktails, and nightlife in Prague, Manifesto Anděl is the perfect choice.

I really enjoy the atmosphere here. On days when I want to relax and take it easy, this place works perfectly, especially during spring and summer, with a wide variety of restaurants and menus to choose from. However, during my most recent visit, the female staff at the cocktail bar were playing around and talking loudly inappropriately. Even worse, they were using several Czech swear words nearby, and we had to move seats to avoid the disturbance, which spoiled the atmosphere. I understand this is an entertainment venue, but the focus should primarily be on the guests’ experience. Courtesy and professionalism should come before playfulness. I hope the management will take this feedback and make improvements.
MFW K — Google review
Great spot for a variety of street food, drinks and good music. The venue has a pool to dip your feet into which is perfect for cooling down on a hot day and they had a DJ on the Sunday that we visited. Would absolutely recommend!

I really enjoyed the diversity of offerings here. We didn’t get any two things from the same place, and each was great. Two of our favorites were the Cheesey bread boat from Flame and the pork Borsch from the Ukrainian place. Sorry, I can’t recall the name at the moment. The service was great, especially from the staff of the market itself. It was a bit inside, but not surprising as it was mid-October. Definitely worth adding this place to your list for variety and quality, service was a nice bonus!

Stopped here for dinner before heading out and highly recommended!! Loads of options for food and drinks in a market hall style venue. We went for the Tacos and margaritas which were delicious. Live music and pop ups to go with so well worth a stop by 🌮🍸

Very good Mexican food! Fresh ingredients, big portions, fast service. The only thing - I wish burrito had whole beans🫘 instead of bean pasta (to feel the texture better). And guacamole was a bit weird, very liquid - you can see it near the burrito (if it’s not a guacamole but just a souse - it still has not enough taste). In general I would like to recommend this place, I think you will be satisfied

Nice traditional Czech dessert place. I had the Lotus cake— delicious! And my latte was expertly made. They are cash only. The space was cozy and comfortable. And the cakes were delicious and pretty— I had a difficult time making a choice. I would definitely come back.

This was easily one of the best věneček I’ve ever had. The glaze perfectly complemented both the filling and the base, creating a beautifully balanced bite. I have a big sweet tooth, so I personally wouldn’t mind a touch more sweetness, but even as it is, I truly enjoyed it. I understand that Czech desserts are often intentionally less sweet, and in that context, this was a perfect example, worthy of a full 5/5. If you prefer desserts on the sweeter side, it may not be for you, but it’s spot on for traditional Czech!

Seemed like a nice ice cream place, but unfortunately they only accept CZK cash. The nearest ATM is a EuroNet (yellow-blue) ATM which is known to be a tourist trap and extremely expensive in terms of service fees - even if you just query your balance, they charge high amounts. So not going to use that. This way we could not try this place. Sad. Suggesting to get a terminal.

Nice cozy old fashioned Czech cafe with breakfasts and cakes. Lived nearby for years but hadn’t been here yet. Breakfast items are basic, but nice. They bring a basket of warm bread and Czech butter. Since 2014 I have visited Prague 6 times. 5 of these were because of this cafe. It is simply my favorite cafe in Europe. The staff might even recognize me at this point. I have brought upwards of 12 people here and personally recommended it to upwards of 50. I am very excited to be bringing one of these friends back and to make another visit in October - something we did together in 2015. No, it's not perfect. The food and drinks are good - perhaps not excellent. The menu selection is smaller and appropriate for the size of the shop. The size also means it can be hard to find a table, especially if you don't show up first thing in the morning. Selfishly, I don't like that a large hostel has opened just a couple doors down. That said, the interior design is super. Although it's located in a trendy neighborhood, the cafe feels more magical and genuine than many hipster places claiming to be authentic.

Savour the bistro TRDELNÍK & COFFEE for its chimney cake, which is a popular sweet treat in the Czech Republic. The menu is Kosher, honoring the neighborhood roots as Prague's Jewish quarter.
I consider myself a Trdlnik conocieur, I lived in Prague for a year and that's the food "czech" food I did like. From my most recent visit to the city, THIS IS THE ONE PLACE I went the most to, THE ONLY ONE I WENT BACK TO (MULTIPLE TIMES). This is by far the current best in Prague: -They are always fresh and super warm -The texture is simply perfect: caramelized crunch on the exterior and soft inside that is not cakey or airly, instead it is more compact yet soft. -The staff is so kind, specially the guy working there, which is not the czech standard, in other places they even get mad if you ask for a hot trdlo, not here, he even warns you that it will be super hot. -They have free samples so you can try it first. -They kosher and at super convenient location. -Price wise, they are a little bit cheaper than other places at 80czk (plain). I hope they continue to always be kind and deliver the best of the best at a reasonable price. My go to is always the basic plain one, I find fillings are more heavy and overly sweet. You can see my multiple visits on my videos, always 10/10. I visited 4 times. Don't waste your calories going to other place, this is it, from someone that has tried and eaten many trdlnik.

The most delicious Baumkuchen I have ever eaten. The portions are huge and the price is fair. We opted for the "Apple Strudel" & the "Velvet Banana" version, a dream. The ice cream on top adds freshness and the dough gives the classic Baumkuchen feeling. The various fillings are also super tasty. A clear 10/10 and a recommendation, definitely check it out if you are visiting Prague!

Additionally, there are great veggie and vegan options such as wraps, daily soup specials, Brazilian potato pumpkin stew, and more.
This is one of the best pastry shops in Prague. We had one savoury and one sweet one and they were heavenly. The owner is really nice and explains you how they make it. I would definitely try their wraps and Pav Bhaji in the future.
Chintan S — Google review
One of the best gems in Prague. They just have a small menu of 5 items but everything is absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable, decor is simple yet cosy and the owner very friendly and chill. First came here 8 years ago and very happy to return and see nothing has changed! Would recommend the vegan wrap and cinnamon rolls especially.
Kate L — Google review
Had been to this gem of a place in 2019. Had the Pav Bhaji, Vegan Wrap, and Cinnamon Roll - loved all three. Pav Bhaji is really good. Have been recommending this place to all my friends from India who visit Prague.

Fast, affordable and very tasty. Very nice and friendly staff. Great street food option, highly recommend
Alexey M — Google review
Very nice little street food like place. They have some sick sandwiches. They attempt a Cubano but the burger buns are not a wise choice. Super tasty though and I totally recommend it. I would prefer a larger sandwich for the money or it could be a bit more expensive and have a decent portion. The size is more of a slider rather than a prober meal so you either need to eat something after or have two.
Konstantinos P — Google review
Been here plenty of times - the food is great. Ordered from them off Wolt and the food travelled well - pork pork and cinnamon roll are A1

So pleased we found this little cafe! They make the most amazing patisseries. We couldn’t decide at first, but then chose the Paris Breast and Pistachio tart. Both were soooo nice! We savoured every mouthful! The coffees were good; the flat white had a beautiful milk design! It is expensive for the city, but each mouthful was worth the money! Care has been taken to prepare these cakes!! We appreciated it! 🩷

Went in this morning with my boyfriend for our 6 year anniversary. Greeted by a lovely lady behind the counter. We sat beside the door and had a lovely view. I had an iced coffee which was the best I’ve had in a long time (got another for the road), my partner had the homemade lemonade. We then got three cakes to share, a traditional punch soaked one, the pecan espresso and a lemon tart. They were all amazing! The owner came out and gave us some homemade ice cream on the house as it was our anniversary. Such a lovely gesture. Would definitely recommend to any cake, coffee, lemonade lover! They also had a great lunch menu available! Only about a 5 mins walk from the main square which is handy.
Alex C — Google review
Nice cute place around the corner. The owner of the Cafe was friendly and helpful. The pastry of my cake seemed freshly made, and it was nice and crunch. However, the flavor was lacking, and the cream was weirdly salty in my taste.
HyeJin J — Google review
A true hidden gem. The best chocolate cake i've ever had. The prefect combination of sweetiness, saltiness, bitteriness, cripiness, and smoothiness . We also tried Paris and the lemon tart. They are all outstanding . Though, the coffee can be stronger.

As a Swede I love a good coffee break or “fika” as we call it in Sweden. The pastries here was so amazing! I will definitely go back here if I visit Prague again.
Mikael K — Google review
Dessert and drinks are amazing. 2 eggs with bread for 185czk is a joke! No salad or butter for bread or something like this…
Alexa P — Google review
The food was amazing, the staff super friendly and interactive. Loved the introduction to the sweets and you can tell they love what they are doing :) Definitely recommend going there!
Larissa — Google review
We had placed this place on our visit list after seeing it in an Honest Guide YouTube video and I think for me the best pastries I tried during my visit to the Czech Republic. A small but excellent selection of very tasty pastries and cookies is available to pair with your coffee or tea. Friendly staff that also speaks English. We visited during a hot summer day so it was a bit warm sitting inside but all worth it.

Tvoje máma, which translates to "Your mom," is a popular spot in Prague's Vrsovice neighborhood known for its delicious buchta buns and specialty coffee. While it's primarily a coffee shop, it has gained recognition for its exceptional baked treats. The cozy cafe offers a creative brunch menu at reasonable prices and a pleasant ambiance for breakfast. Customers appreciate the friendly staff and the variety of sweet and savory food options available.
Food- 5 Service - 4 Ambiance - 5 This place is off the beaten path but worth every step of the way. It's quiet and perfect to answer some emails while you sip on a perfect coffee or have a bite. Whether you are living or traveling in Prague, this is a perfect spot for some delicious food and coffee.

I’m so lucky to live near by Tvoje mama. Amazing and friendly stuff. Delicious desert and coffee. The food in total you can feel that it was made with love. But to be honest I liked breakfast more when it was with butter then with tomato’s paste.
Aleksandra S — Google review
Absolute local classic and legend in the Vršovice hood. Great coffee, breakfast and snacks, the place where neighbours in the hood grab their morning coffee, hang around to sit for a chat or do some work. The service is friendly and warm, the atmosphere cozy and homey. Btw, the matcha latte is good, too!
Patricie K — Google review
I love this place. Always fresh homemade pastries, delicious coffee and friendly staff. Of course, sometimes there are queues, but that's normal for such a popular place. I think this is one of the best cafes in the neighborhood🥰☕️
Marina G — Google review

Lovely little cafe near to a park. Food was very healthy and tasty. The plates and cups are beautiful and the atmosphere is super cozy. Went there on a rainy day and it was perfect. Menu is not in EN but the waitress explained it to me to the detail and made my choice allergy-free for me. Recommended!
Alejandra V — Google review
I've been visiting this coffee place for approximately 2 years and I can see it grew on popularity throughout the time. It's cute little place with a tasty coffee (filter or espresso) accompanied with some delicious cakes and pies. I feel that Tvoje máma is visited mainly by expats and hipsters from around the area. And you should visit it too, if you'll find yourself in Vršovice looking for some proper coffee!
Martin M — Google review
Wow! Amazing home made bakes. Coffee is excellent - using artisan local roasteries. Glad they offer almond milk as an alternative - best almond milk latte! - Every time I come to visit this is my go to place! And they open at 7 - which makes a great start to the day.

Grocery store
The Candy Store in Prague is a haven for those who crave American and British sweets, offering a wide range of candy bars, soda pop, hard candy, savory crisps, and more. The store boasts a colorful exterior and well-stocked shelves. While some find the staff to be less friendly and the prices on the higher side due to importing costs, it remains a popular spot for expats seeking familiar treats. In addition to American and UK candies, they also offer Japanese and Dutch products.
Love this specialty shop for imports from America. You can find many things here that are impossible to find anyplace else. Great selection of candy, but also specific cooking ingredients and sauces (Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce!). This place is a life saver for American expats looking for a little taste of home!
Patrick M — Google review
Nice place with a lot of imported treats. It's fun to stop by and pick up some snacks that we don't see around. The prices are also surprisingly not high considering a lot of these are imported from America.
Tony O — Google review
It is the best candy and snacks store I have ever been. It has rare products and the staff are very nice people. I advise everyone to try the store, hopefully they'll get bigger! It seems small inside but they have lots of products, it's actually huge. I'll definitely come again in my next trip to Prague.
Idan L — Google review
Awesome shop with a very broad definition of candy (they have an awesome selection of imported beers and sodas). They specialize in imported desserts from the US and UK which means they also have cake mixes and ice cream. They do have a very wide variety of traditional candy so it was a big hit with my kids.
Ken W — Google review
The selection of products is awesome and very different from local supermarkets or Asian convenient stores. However, the prices are very high, and the shopkeeper was very unfriendly.
Francis L — Google review
If you have an American sweet tooth, then is a place for you, you find I lot of products you would never have remembered you missed near, and this location is open everyday. They do sell all types of products.
Charles ( — Google review
No hello as customer walks in, just staring with unpleasant look. Staff definitely need to work on their attitude.
JW L — Google review
Good if you get a hankering for a taste of home, lots of American cereals, boxed Mac and cheese, pb, and candies and chips and sodas not commonly found here. Not super cheap but reasonable for the occasional craving. Lots of British foods here too, but as I'm not British I dunno if they hit the spot for homesick brits :)

Spižírna 1902 is a popular spot, especially among younger crowds, offering a strong baking game and weekend brunches with an ample supply of alcohol. The menu caters to vegans as well. The café's stylish interior makes it one of the most Instagrammed cafes in the area. Located in the trendy Vinohrady district, it offers a great cup of coffee and an Instagram-worthy setting.
We went at around 14:00 and there was no queue. I would recommend going a bit later to not wait long. Everything was really delicious and the staff was very friendly. My favorite was the gluten free dessert with poppy seeds. 😋

I had a latte and yummy 🍰. It was busy but quiet enough for me to get a little work done. Cheers and I will definitely be back 🤩.

In February, the shakshuka was much better (see photo 1). Now ( photo 2) it’s dry and not tasty at all — I’d rate it 1/10. It seems like you’ve changed the ingredients, and they don’t go well together at all. Very disappointed. Also, the batch brew coffee was served only after I had already finished my breakfast.

When in Prague, don't miss out on trying the delectable Trdelník with ice cream. One of the best spots to indulge in this delightful treat is at Zmrzlinar, a popular hipster ice cream store offering a variety of flavors including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and pistachio. Additionally, they regularly introduce new seasonal flavors to keep things exciting.
Amazing inventory of ice cream. Handmade in the middle of Prague downtown. Highly recommended 👌
Nameer G — Google review
Located in the middle of Prague. It is on the way to Charles Bridge. I found this tasted the best. And it also had a different flavoured chimney cake! We ordered number 8 and 22. Made fresh. They spread chocolate on the inside of the Trdelnik which made it delicious.
Jennifer L — Google review
These are rock solid teeth breaking hard. I asked if it was fresh and she said yes. I think if I left my bread for a month it would be softer than what we had here. Basically bricks in the form of chimneys. Go somewhere else where they actually give you fresh baked ones.
Yasin A — Google review
***warning if you have a nut allergy*** Asked whether any of the chocolate ice cream or chocolate sauce contained nuts, repeatedly before purchasing, as my wife is allergic The lady serving us guaranteed is that it definitely didnt. Even opened Google translate to show her exactly what I was asking in case of miscommunication, and again she said "no nuts" As soon as I bought it and took one bite from it to make sure, it was unmistakably Nutella / Praline nut chocolate. Be careful when purchasing. Annoyed as I spent a lot of effort asking and checking only to find it absolutely had nuts in the chocolate sauce
Mike R — Google review
While walking from Old Town Square to Charles Bridge, I came across this spot and decided to try my first chimney cake with ice cream. It was okay, not bad, but not amazing either. The prices seemed a bit high compared to other places, so it might be worth looking around for a better deal.

Delicious Trdelnik spot close to the old square of Prague 🇨🇿 They put ice cream and have 5 different flavors, and you can also put chocolate inside your Trdelnik. Even though it is has its Hungarian with Kürtőskalács, it is delicious and a must try in Prague. The shops are everywhere but this place was less crowded and good.

Yum.yum.yum ! In a world where Starbucks and Mc Donald's rule, this is the superb kind of small business that needs support! Beautifully designed , its a little piece of uniqueness in Prague. A place that hakens back to a Mom and Pops store . Elements of the 50's and 60's remind us of a simple time , where food was the hero. VERY WELL PRICED. Traditional tastes , and yes , you will meet the SISTERS ! GO VISIT !

In Prague, a popular espresso bar called Letec stands out for its exceptional offerings. This café, known for its excellent banana bread in various flavors, surpasses even a beloved German café's version. The banana bread at Letec is moist and boasts a delightful intensity of banana flavor. Additionally, the addition of chocolate and almonds provides a pleasant touch to this delectable treat. Alongside the outstanding food, the Chai Latte also proves to be delicious.
I had here one of the best brownies so far in Prague. The service was fast and the lady working there is friendly and speaks English too. The place is small so it won't accommodate groups, I think there are less than 10 seats so you might have to go for takeaway if you get during busy hours. Price wise is alright, not expensive. I'll come back

- one of the best places to buy "koláče" in town 😍 - coffee - usually from great coffee bean roasters but oh boy taste-wise 😳 if you like third wave specialty coffee and lighter taste weeell not here, definitely much better at baking than serving coffee - staff - we need to talk! have been here multiple times (their koláče are really to die for) but staff is simply 😠😡 you always feel like you are bothering, definitely not helpful and yeah, staff is prettey bad, everything BUT NOT nice. my reccommendation is get the koláče for takeaway and get out as soon as possible

In Germany I have a favorite Cafe which offers banana bread in different varieties. I am a huge fan and try it anywhere I can. Letec Espressobar their banana bread (65 czk) is outstanding, maybe even better. Moist, great intensity of banana, chocolate and almonds add a nice touch. The Chai Latte (75 czk) was delicious as well. Good way to start a full day of Sightseeing. There are a few places to sit inside. I got lucky and received one of the three tables and chairs outside.
