It was great visiting here. Loved the pizza. People were nice. No rushing to clear the table at the time when we went. Had a Margherita pizza, which was absolutely delicious. I was so hooked on to the taste, that I found out that they have an operational branch in Amsterdam as well and I visited them yesterday. It was the same taste and I loved it.

Very good pizza and very good flavour! It is and will be a long wait. You will wait an hour so I recommend getting a table because why not - the queue is the same! The pizza was very good, it did take a while so it came out a little colder than expected. But the leoparding was good, the flavour of everything in that pizza was incredible. The dough, the sauce, the cheese and everything. Unbelievably good. There are not many types of pizza but you do not need many flavours of that pizza. It was worth getting any!

After almost one hour of waiting we managed to get inside as a group of 7 people. The system is a bit confusing and we got there on the time when they were letting all the people out, cleaning the tables and only after letting all the people who are waiting in. We got there around 15:30. It’s not the ideal time. If you are very hungry you have to consider the waiting. There is a separate queue for the take away pizza. It’s a bit difficult to talk with the staff managing the queue. When you want to eat inside you have to ask for the number and tell the number of people dining in. The wait inside for the pizza wasn’t long at all considering that we were taking 5 pizzas. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Pizza was very good but not sure if it was great ale worth this wait. We just went there as the place is famous. In general we were happy about this experience. The price was great too, very cheap for this famous place.

I was brought to try this pizza place by a local. In general we didn’t have to wait too long to be seated, approximately 10 minutes. We were there for lunch around 14:00, but from what I’ve heard the queue can get quite long in the late evening. The service was a bit questionable, they weren’t very friendly, which might be caused by the very chaotic environment. The price of the pizza is exceptional. You can rarely find a place that serves delicious pizza for only 6 euro. The taste as well was superb. I would gladly go back.

one of the most famous pizzerias in the world. they have multiple rooms across the street to accommodate the huge amount of people that come by. takeaway worked very quickly for me. i only waited 10min. the pizza was incredible and it was very affordable. not overrated and definitely worth the hype

I saw the video from IG and expected to be super crowded because if the reviews. We came on a Wednesday 6:30pm and there was zero line. Literally shocked. I'm glad we came during dinner instead of lunch! The pizza was huge but so soft, chewy and light. I love it. Super flavorful. Highly recommend! Quite different from other pizza place. It's light and so thin. A must go. We paid 8 euro for dine in.

A small but charming monastery in the heart of Naples. The famous courtyard, which is usually the highlight, was unfortunately under construction during my visit, which took away some of the atmosphere. Still, it’s a peaceful and beautiful spot, offering a welcome break from the busy streets outside. The adjoining church is very impressive and definitely worth a visit.

This was on my to-do list in Napoli and I'm glad we visited. For 7 euros tickets, it's totally worth it. You start in a movie room that tells you the history of the monastery and then you walk between drawings carved on the walls from a side and ceramic tiles on the others. The garden is amazing and has lemon and olive trees. There's a small museum and a small archeological site.

A beautiful courtyard to sit and relax in. I didn’t find the ruins interesting as there isn’t anything left to see. The museum inside is small but has some interesting things to check out.

Beautifully nestled into the old city with a stunning garden and beautiful tile paintings. It's cool inside even on a hot day.

The Veiled Christ sculpture is without a doubt the most impressive. The way the marble looks like a delicate, transparent veil over Jesus is unbelievable. I honestly couldn’t believe it was carved from a single block of marble. It’s one of the most beautiful and emotional pieces of art I’ve ever seen. The other piece that really stood out to me was the one with the marble net (Il Disinganno). The fine detail in the net is just mind blowing. Although the chapel isn’t very big, every part of it is full of intricate art and symbolism. I do wish we could take photos, but I also understand why it’s not allowed, it helps you focus more on the moment. Highly recommend booking in advance, as it can get very crowded. But it’s 100% worth visiting!!

The highlight of my trip is Guiseppe Sanmartino’s Veiled Christ in the Sansevero Chapel Museum in the heart of Napoli’s old city. I have been waiting for this moment since for 2 years when i first learnt about this incredible masterpiece. The thinness, fluidity and transparency of the veil, the expression on the face and body of Christ as he laid in the tomb is remarkable and hard to imagine that the material is marble. Very unforgettable an experience. The staff are helpful and excellent in managing crowd flow. The chapel is small and the experience of entering in is intense and mystical. Too bad no photography of any kind is allowed but there were books to purchase at the end. I wish there were more literature on Guiseppe Sanmartino’s life and history. This great craftsman remains a mystery to me for now.

So there is no warning online when you buy the expensive tickets that you can not take photos inside. Which is fine, people would take a long time if everyone took photos, and it is a small chapel. However you can not take photos in the store of the postcards either. I find that ridiculous for the price of 12€ entry to this tiny thing. Also typical rude Napolitans employees, but that is expected i guess.

An absolute must-see in Naples. Although the San Severo Chapel is just one single room, it’s one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited. The sculptures and frescoes inside are stunning, with an incredible level of detail and realism. It’s really worth getting the audio guide, as it explains in depth the history and meaning behind each sculpture and fresco. Without it, you miss a lot of context and can’t fully appreciate what you’re seeing. For such a short visit, it’s definitely worth it. The visit takes around 20–30 minutes, and it never feels long or heavy. It’s short, fascinating, and full of beauty. If you’re in Naples, it’s an essential stop — a small gem you shouldn’t miss.

This is a one room exhibit. The sculptures are exquisite but l was expecting more. "That's it" was heard more than a few times. Anatomical bodies below are not worth seeing. No pictures allowed. Autoguide. Line wasn't to bad.

Very cool experience - 45 meters underground and full of history from ancient times to WW2. The tour also includes a short tour of a hidden playhouse that is neat. Definitely buy tickets online & in advance to skip the line. In regard to others' claustrophobia warnings - the part that is very bad (12 inches wide & 4 ish inches tall at some points) can be skipped so you can still enjoy the tour.

Somewhat interesting. The guide wasn’t loud enough at times, some words I didn’t understand and people were talking, also the group was like 50, way too big. The tunnels were fun to go into and the area in general is pretty interesting. The wine cellar at the end was cool but very small. Women at the ticket counter wasn’t sure you if you could get online tickets and when I returned with an online ticket, she scanned it… why she couldn’t just say you could is beyond me, language barrier or just not too interested in your job who knows. Get an online ticket to get in faster, cash only otherwise.

fascinating experience. The guided tour through Napoli Sotterranea gives a completely different view of the city’s history — from ancient aqueducts to World War II shelters. The guide was knowledgeable and made it easy to imagine life underground. The passages are narrow at some points, so good shoes are a must. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see something unique in Naples.

The group size is too big. 57 people in one group is too much. At the entrance it was chaos. We bought our ticket online. It said to bypass the queue, only to be send back at the end of the queue. At the smallest part we had to go back because another group entered at the other side. One woman started to panic and the guide didn't even notice. The upper part was done by another guide. He walked very fast and we lost him somewhere. Also his voice was soft. The group was quiet, but still at the back you couldn't hear what he was saying. It was nice what was shown, but the big group spoiled it somehow.

Ok so I have mixed feelings about this. First of all, when you arrive it's a huge chaos at the entrance. Why don't they put ropes with 2 lines to separate the tours by language and then some passage to let people with online tickets to pass in front of everyone (since it's a SKIP THE LINE ticket!!) Then... There are just too many people in each group. I think there were at least 60 in our group. This creates a huge problem with people pushing to take photos and another problem when the guide is talking and half of these people are talking so you can't hear anything! The tour itself is nice, there's a very very narrow passage where you can't be claustrophobic otherwise it will be a problem. For my surprise, this is a 2 part tour. The first one is the underground itself then they will take you by foot in the streets further to another place which doesn't add much apart from the "surprise" (no spoilers). Another problem: these tour guides are basically formatted robots. They learnt the lines and that's it. I'm sure they know nothing about the underground, in our case our guide was asked several questions to which he answered "I have no idea" to almost all of them. The funniest one was a girl asking how they pumped the water and he answer was "it's physics".....

Interesting tour experience with the main attraction being a few yards under the main street level. Used during major historical operation like WW2 and remnants of ancient civilization was unique. The display case showed figures in German SS patrol outfits to illustrate Italy under German occupation in the 40’s. The guide was ok but clear she didn’t have a lot of public speaking experience. She was hard to understand tho seemed to be doing her best with the crowd. The tight tunnels were interesting though again info was not clear of what things were used for so there was a lot of guessing to be done.

The saint’s blood is contained in an ampoule and liquefies at 3 points within the year. This phenomenon has resulted in strong local and national devotion, reflected in the great beauty of the place. A separate section of the Duomo, too, houses rich offerings (frequently masterpieces) that have been donated to San Gennaro over the centuries by popes, kings and wealthy devotees. There is a fee (€14) to enter this section.

A stunning cathedral. My wife and I can across this place while casually wandering around the shops. It snuck up on us a little bit, we knew of it but not its exact location. And what a wonderful surprise it was. Perhaps the most beautiful building we've ever been in. Just look at the pics which give an idea. It's free, but I'd suggest donating.

The Duomo Di Santa Maria Assunta is the main Catholic church in Naples and is just a short walk up the road from a Duomo metro station. This is a very impressive building. Very ornately decorated. As one of the main tourist attractions in Naples, it can get quite busy, but the place still holds a significant level of reverence as you wander around and enjoy the many paintings and artefacts within. Entry to the Duomo is free,however, if you wish to visit the Treasury of San Genarro where you can view some of the famous artefacts including the vial of blood purporting to include the blood of San Genarro there is a small fee. Overall a visit will take you. Probably your visit will need no longer than half an hour and the place has clean and disabled friendly toilets.

Definitely impressive inside. Worth the walk and located near the Underground featured restored ruins as well so that both can be appreciated within a few hours.

The atmosphere with lively and bright. Tables were clean and the food was decent. However the the service was somewhat slow. We also were charged more for items than the price listed on the menu.When we brought this to their attention the error was quickly rectified. Make sure to review your receipt before paying.

Great pizza fritta, the best I have ever tried. The pizzas are quite big but they are so soft and digestible. Pizza dough is quite "salty" although it's my personal preference. The interior and the condiments have, on the other hand, the right amount of seasoning. I really suggest this place for a really good Pizza Fritta

The food was good overall. We ordered the pizza fritta with mortadella, nothing wrong with it, but a bit too dry and flavourless for my taste. The salad was refreshing and tasty. Drinks were good, prices very reasonable, and service was fine. Worth trying if you want to experience different pizza styles in Naples.

A really fine pizza place! I know that if you are visiting this area of Naples, you are overwhelmed with the number of pizzeria and pizza choices within a 10-minute walk! This one we feel is one you should try. They have a unique way of making their crust and we devoured the pizzas we got from here. Be sure to look at all the menus because everyone has their own specialties. The service was great and the price was reasonable. We love that the name has the year 1947 in it, that is a special year for all US Air Force veterans.

The pizza frita were quite good, they were our very first ones. It's really different of a normal pizza, you have to try it at least once (and say goodbye to your summer body afterward) We ordered two arancini were good too.

In my opinion, this may not be the best fried pizza in Naples, though others might find it quite enjoyable. That said, if you’d like to try fried pizza without waiting in long lines, this place is a convenient option to avoid the crowds. And it would be great to have a wider selection of beers.

This place is a little different than the rest of the pizzerias as they specialize in fried pizzas. The meal is heavier than most places. But the taste is well worth it. Come hungry. Seating is also limited to the sidewalk so keep that in mind. But the staff were polite and made great recommendations.

My favorite pizzeria in Napoli and the one I always recommend to friends visiting the city. They have an amazing variety, great options, and their pizza is absolute heaven! 🍕❤️

first time in my life i try the Pizza from the country where it's introduced to the Modern World. and Specially the Taste of Authentic Margarita Pizza is still same. plain thin cheese pizza with basic tomato sauce and a touch of Basil. i really like the taste and service. 100 out of 100 price is also Cheap and in your budget. so must try once.

Pizzas were great and service was fast. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is that the sides we ordered were terrible. The zucchini flowers lacked flavour (besides the taste of old fryer oil), and the mozzarella and tomato salad was not good (mainly due to the baffling inclusion of iceberg lettuce and corn).

I only ate 1 pizza in Napoli, and it was here. I don't know if it's better than other places around, but compared to other cities in Italy... this is the best pizza! Simple and traditional pizzas. Hope to come back again. (There is a pizza in Sardignia that competes for top spot... :))) )

My husband and I visited this restaurant while on holiday in Naples. We found it down a little side street. The food was good (we had pizza and chips and finished with wine). The wine was very nice and the service was excellent. We would definitely go back if we were in the area again.

Whether you go for a classic Margherita or a more adventurous topping combination, you're in for a treat. We surely visit this place again in future .

Great tasting pizza, especially the classic margarita and devil pizzas. Also ordered the fried pumpkin flower and special tricolore pizza that was good. The classic choices were the best from the 3 pizzas. All this was more than enough for 4 people. Service was ok. No feeling of welcome and attribute that to being a tourist spot. Large groups do dine here so it gets busy.

Wonderful place to sit down and have some of Naples' best known pizzas and specialties. The croquettes were delicious! The fried pizza and Margherita pizzas we had were also quite tasty. The dining area is clean and the service is very friendly. Glad we tried this place for lunch.

One of my favourite pizzerias ever. The pizza was beautiful, and pretty much one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The service was also excellent and the waiters and waitresses were the most accommodating I've had in all of Italy and made us feel welcome and ensured we were well throughout the night. The wine paired perfectly with the pizza, and was well selected by the business. The interior was very nice, as was the ambience. Finally the prices were really reasonable (cheap), making this restaurant an absolute screaming bargain. Easy 5/5 - 10/5 if possible, a fantastic experience on the whole.

This is the best pizza I have ever had, hands down. We got the Margherita Speciale Buffala DOP (since I am allergic to the nuts in fiordilatte). This pizza made me understand why people say Naples has the best pizza. We went early, when they opened, so the place was empty and the staff was very attentive. They don't speak too much English though, so your questions may not get answered.

I liked very much the “timelessness” of the place. Very much Italy in the 1960s! Equally, the food is nice and simple yet very tasty. Where else to eat “pasta e patate” if not here!

Group of 5 of us went for lunch on our last day in Naples. Arrived right on 12:30 as they opened and they welcomed us with a great table. Impeccable service, very kind waiters even though we don’t speak Italian. Delicious food and great traditional interior.

This is a typical Neapolitan restaurant, and it’s plenty of Neapolitan customers, which means you can find here the real, and well done, traditional recipes. You can find on the walls a lot of pictures telling the long story of the restaurant, which was started about 100 years ago and is now at the third generation managed by the same family. There is attention during the service. Appetizers with buffalo mozzarella, eggplant parmigiana and fried zucchini flowers, then special soups with beans and seafood or chickpeas and chestnuts, then pasta alla genovese or puttanesca with amberjack and capers. To finish babà with rum and caprese chocolate cake. All served on timely manner for a table of 10 people. The price is right.

Time out wrote “Run by the charming Alfonso Mattozzi, who greets all his customers like old friends at the door” and yes, this is the welcome you can expect if you are Italian. However if you are foreign, despite all your best efforts to be polite and attempt to speak in Italian you will be met with surly, contemptuous waiting staff who maintain a steady level of rudeness throughout. Having said that the food was the best we had in Naples and the restaurant itself was very nice.

Nice place with the spirit of Napoli, good quality food but EXAGGERATEDLY highly priced. The owner and the waiters were so kind, we got offered an appetizer to endure hunger waiting our turn to be seated. But nothing is for free; as a matter of fact, all the kindness was to justify the highly marked-up prices and after a theatrical generous discount, we ended up paying 60€ for a shared entrée, a shared main dish and a shared dessert. 🤔 Ps: We were lucky they had a typical band playing Neapolitan traditional songs at the end of the evening and it was enjoyable.

Still has the classy Italian atmosphere which doesn’t appear a lot these days. The owners are there, you feel how much they give importance to customers, service, quality. Must try when you are in Naples. The food is delicious too. We missed some traditions so I’m writing down for you to not miss it. Order a pizza to share at the beginning even if you are 2, small mozzarella and tomatoes to share, fried plate or only some for ex. Fried zucchini flowers to taste and then primi piatti for yourselves and if there is still a place a secondi piatti to fell the restaurant at most. Enjoy!

Most of the bad reviews you'll read are from Americans expecting the staff to crawl on their hands and knees to welcome them. If you make an effort to say hello, please and thank you in Italian they will be more than nice. I do not care if the server frowns, he was very professional, and brought us delicious food. Speaking of the food, I had the bean and cuttlefish soup and it was out of this world. Naples has good seafood but this was the best I had on my trip. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of the food and the comfort of the place. You can tell it's worth going because locals eat there and recommend it. Grazzie mille !

Castle on the island, the third one in Naples that we saw, currently under some kind of renovation. There are lots of restaurants around it, so it's in the center of night life. Still it's another massive old monument of Naples grand history.

Unfortunately, the castle itself is currently under construction, so we couldn’t explore the interior. However, going there at night was still worth it. The scenery was beautiful with a pleasant atmosphere all around. The area is lively, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, making it a nice spot for an evening walk or dinner.

Beautiful area but a lot of construction going on around it so difficult to get the perfect view. Lovely walk down there from the old town.

Castel dell’Ovo was closed and surrounded by scaffolding for restoration, which ruined the view. The area underneath with restaurants felt crowded and uncomfortable, with unpleasant smells in the air. Overall, was not an enjoyable visit.

Unfortunately, the castle is under reconstruction, I wasn't able to see the inside of it. However, it's still a good idea to go at night was. The scenery was nice with a pleasant atmosphere all around. The area is lively, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, making it a nice spot for an evening walk or dinner.

it was beautiful and unbelievable an oceanfront castle. It is free to go up inside and to the roof. Another name of the castle is Egg castle (sounds very cute) The castle is rectangular in plan, approximately 200 by 45 metres at its widest and the castle is popular for newlyweds to have their wedding photos taken. Inside the castle walls are several buildings that are often used for exhibitions and other special events. if you have some extra time, there are some good views on the top.

We had the pleasure of visiting Ovo Castle in Naples, Italy. Nestled on the picturesque islet of Megaride, the castle's location is nothing short of stunning. It's a short walk from the mainland, connected by a causeway. The entry fee was reasonable, and the castle wasn't overly crowded, allowing for a more intimate exploration. However, I did notice that some parts of the castle could benefit from better maintenance and signage. Information in English was limited in certain areas, which might be challenging for international tourists. Overall, Ovo Castle is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a picturesque spot in Naples. It's a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and a window into the rich tapestry of Neapolitan history.

The food was generous, rich in flavor and the patisserie crunchy and sweet, the waiters don’t really seem to enjoy their gig, but that’s pretty avg in Napoli (or Italy). In spite of that, the service is fast as almost everything just needs to be warmed up. Coffee is great and fresh OJ is a little ray of sunshine trough the overall experience.

They have on of the best pastries in Italy. But the service could be better and the place could be taken care better. We went there twice, one time for breakfast and other for an afternoon coffee. On both occasions the service was pretty average. The coffee nothing special, but the pastries. Perfection! The best of all was the sfogliatella, nice layers of perfect crust with a filling that wasn't too sweet. I recommend for a good pastry treat in Naples.

Centrally located, prime spot for people watching and beautiful building. This is by far one of the best espresso we had during our trip in Italy. So good that we went back 3 times in total during our visit in Naples. The pastries were great too.. as for the service as expected during high season. Fatigue, not very friendly.. probably sick of tourists like us and under staff given they didn't open a section of the restaurant and would rather have customers wait in the queue. Worth a visit.. just don't expect much from the service. Pastries and espresso.. definitely Yes! Absolutely love their menu, photos and descriptions. Perfect!!

Great spot for breakfast, we came here a couple of times. Fantastic people watching and great location to sit and enjoy your morning food. Coffee is good, pastries are fresh and delicious and the staff are brilliant. It is a touch on the pricey side for Naples but it is worth it. The selection of drinks is probably the most substantial of all the spots we went to in Naples. One thing I will say is I stopped off for a late afternoon Sfogliatella and unlike in the morning which was brilliant this time it had very obviously been sat for many hours and the filling had gone a bit past its best so I would recommend if you want the pastries go at breakfast when they have just been made as they are brilliant. I had the best pain au chocolat of my life here

We stopped by this café and it was such a delightful experience! The coffee was excellent, their pastries were fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is charming and elegant. The staff were very kind and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy authentic Italian coffee and dessert in a beautiful setting.

Gran Caffè Gambrinus is a place that leaves a lasting impression with just a single cup of coffee. I stopped by briefly for one espresso — the “strapazzato” — and that short moment completely redefined what coffee means to me. Though I spent no more than five minutes there, the depth, aroma, and intensity of that cup made time feel suspended. It wasn’t just about caffeine; it was about heritage, craftsmanship, and emotion in a cup. It’s rare to find a place where such a simple experience feels so profound. I know that even if I return years later, that brief memory — and the anticipation of tasting it again — will stay with me for a very long time.

An interesting place and very unusual because of the way you place your order. First, you go to the counter, order from the cashier and then you go to the bar or the pastry section. It can be very confusing for tourists because there are no signs explaining what to do or how it works. My recommendation is to first take a look at all the cake names and then go to the counter. All in all, the coffee is excellent and the cakes are unbelievably beautiful and delicious. Definitely a place you must visit!

Would recommend. It gets a little tricky to dong your way about. Have to purchase tickets for the inside walk about The outside is free. There was some construction going on so wasn't able to walk through the garden. The view was amazing when you are walking through the palace.

It's incredible to see where royalty once lived, though, due to successive changes, adoptions and reconstructions, a lot of the lived-in feeling has been lost. The interiors are sumptuous and you really have an idea of the wealth of its inhabitants. No beds, bathrooms or much of the original furniture is left, so one must imagine what the rooms may have originally looked like before they became state apartments. It is well worth a visit, but if you're wondering whether to do the Palazzo Real or the Reggia Caserta... I would highly recommend the latter. You can wander through the rooms at a leisurely pace, and adore much of the paintwork, gilt stucco, and damask clad walls. All of it is impressive upon the senses and altogether worth the visit. Duration: 30 to 45 minutes (maybe longer with and an audioguide) Satisfaction: 85%

The Royal Palace is very nice, and it seems bigger inside than from outside. The rooms are impressive. Some rooms were under construction, so we could not enter. I would recommend seeing it.

The Palazzo Reale has been the seat of power in Naples since the 1600s. It has been occupied by Spanish and Austrian viceroys, the Bourbons, the Bonapartes, the Bourbons again and then the Savoys before being turned over to the Italian state. What's seen here are the sumptuous royal apartments and state rooms. The rest of the palace is now being used for the National Library and as event spaces. While I was there, a book fair was being held in the courtyard and panels were being held in some of the old state rooms like the 'Hall of Hercules’. Absolutely gorgeous place to visit and worth the money!

The first rooms you come across are absolutely beautiful. As you go along, it seems beautiful but sort of the same looking room after room. The signage isn’t great, some signs seemed to point you towards nothing. The art is great throughout but a bit too far to really appreciate I’d say.

Wasnt specifically visiting Naples. Happened to stay over on the way to and from Pompeii and other parts of Italy i travelked to. The Palace is one of the landmarks of Naples, so decided to visit and didn't regret. Really enjoyed my visit (despite falling on one of the marble stairs 😀 - they do warn you about it, so take care when visit). You can get tickets on site. There was no queueing and no wait.

This was a fantastic tour and visit! The oldest continually operating Opera House in the world! So many interesting facts and details in the tour!! I highly recommend, especially for the price and only 30 minutes to see everything!

If you have the chance take the tour, it’s well explained and you get the opportunity to be in the oldest Theatre in the world, and if you have the chance to see opera or a concert, totally worth it!! I have the chance to find a ticket for Tosca by Puccini and it was absolutely fantastic

This is a review of the disappointing tour, not of the theatre itself. As someone who enjoys opera, I was excited to tour the Teatro di San Carlo. Opening in 1737, it is the oldest continuously-operating opera venue in the world, older than La Scala and La Fenice. I was unhappy with the tour, though. It was only 30 minutes long, given in both Italian and English (cutting the English portion even shorter), included a large group of people and consisted of only 2 spaces. It felt like a cash grab. I see from other pictures that groups were smaller and they were able to go up to the boxes. What gives?

We saw an orchestra show while in Naples for 24 hrs, it was a great experience! Gorgeous theater, great music, and staff were helpful with directing. We were unable to purchase tickets online but bought tickets same day at the ticket office without issues. Appreciate the affordable ticket prices, highly recommend!

Stepping into the Teatro di San Carlo feels like entering a fairytale. This historic opera house, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the world, is a masterpiece of elegance and grandeur. The rich red velvet, the golden balconies, and the dazzling chandelier create an atmosphere that takes your breath away. The acoustics are superb, and the performances match the beauty of the space. It’s more than a theatre — it’s a place where history, art, and magic come together. A must-visit for lovers of culture and beauty.

The oldest continually operating opera house in the world – and absolutely worth a guided tour! The theatre is breathtaking, with its frescoed ceiling and countless elegant details. I loved learning about the mirrors in each box, designed so the King could see every guest. Another fascinating detail: there is no box number 17. Instead, it’s labeled 16 BIS, since in Italian culture 17 is considered unlucky (in Roman numerals, XVII can be rearranged as VIXI, meaning “I have lived,” a symbol of death). Simply fantastic and a must-see in Naples!

Very beautiful historical theatre with wonderful acoustic. If you buy tickets to the side boxes make sure it is the first or maximum the second row of the box, otherwise you will see only a part of the scene. Anna Netrebko was perfect as Amelia in Un ballo in maschera by Verdi

Galería Umberto I in Naples is a beautiful and historic shopping gallery 🏛️, with impressive architecture and a charming atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to take a stroll, enjoy a coffee (there is a nice Starbucks coffee shop there), and admire the details of the building. However, compared to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, it feels a bit less grand and less polished. When I visited, parts of the gallery were under renovation, which took away slightly from the overall experience. Still, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Naples — just not quite a five-star wow.

If you want to enjoy the architecture of this place it's the best to come in the evening when the shops are already closed. Then you can clearly see the beautiful patterns on the ground and take nice pictures while standing in the middle. Since I was kinda interested why would you make such a thing here is a short version if you would be also interested. It was constructed between 1887 and 1890. It stands directly across from the San Carlo opera house and was a cornerstone of the city's urban renewal, known as the "risanamento." Designed by Emanuele Rocco, its grand architecture features a cross-shaped layout with a spectacular glass and iron vaulted ceiling and a central dome.

It’s a peaceful place to walk, take photos, or enjoy a coffee under the sunlight streaming through the roof. Some shops are quiet now, but the charm and history of the place make it unforgettable.

Galleria Umberto I in Naples is an elegant and light-filled shopping arcade crowned by a domed glass and steel roof. It was built between 1887 and 1890 and named after King Umberto I of Italy. The gallery was intended to create a safe and luxurious public space in a previously rundown district. Although some shops have closed and it no longer shines as it once did, it remains a stunning architectural landmark.

Architecturally stunning (I shudder to say) shopping mall right beside the main port. It's just worth a wander through just to marvel at the building. If you want to embrace Neopolitan superstitions find your zodiac sign in the middle and jump into it's circle! Should bring you good luck!

Nice little restaurant. The staff was friendly. They only had three types of pizza when we went (not sure if that is standard), but the one I had (margherita) was good. I do wish it had a bit more cheese and was cooked a little more (was by no means undercooked). I may just have a very Americanized view on pizza. The people I was with said it was one of the best pizzas they have had. The food was made fresh and came quickly. I would definitely go back.

A great little find whilst in need of lunch. The menu is limited to perfection. They know what they cook and they cook it well. The Margherita was delicious and they staff were loving. Efficient, good food and good value. Well worth a pitstop.

Delicious and enormous Margherita and drink for only €10! The pizza is large enough for two. I was impressed that it went from dough to my table in 15 minutes. This place is located on the outside perimeter of the Galleria Umberto I and a few steps from the Teatro San Carlo. So it’s a convenient stop when you visit Piazza Plebiscito.

My only request for Naples was to eat genuine Napoli pizza. The Pizzedia Napoli in Bocca was highly rated, so we decided to try it. The staff was nice. The server told us there were 3 pizzas to choose from: Margarita, Marinara, or Deep-fried. We chose Margarita. It was everything we hoped for!! My husband, daughter and I devoured a 14" pizza for lunch. Definitely recommend!

When you Google "tourist trap" a picture of this place should come up! How do I begin?? The prices are outrageous for the quality of the food. We ordered the Spaghetti and clams, it was tasteless, bland and small portion for 28EUR. They charge 7EUR for water without gas. The Calamari fritto was ok. All night and we had to ordered water from 3 different people, they were all running like chickens without head. I would definitely stay away from this place. You can get better food, better service and better service anywhere in Italy!! Response follow up: Quality ingredients doesn't mean quality meal. Your food is bad for the price. If it was good I'll say that, I stand by my honest review and people reading this can make their own decisions. You are a tourist trap and many other reviewers say the same. Based on your response I'll be afraid to even sit at this restaurant. God forbid if one's complains in person might end up sleeping with the fishes. Arrivederci e buona fortuna!

Wish we had read the reviews. The salmon and the octopus are tasteless. The dessert options are good. Not really with a view of the water. Service is shoddy at best. The cook really needs to learn how to cook fish. Fish is unforgiving and precise time is needed for best cooking and taste. Plus add some sauces and condiments to the fish - it was bland. So many better opportunities in Napoli.

The food was exquisite and the Pasta mama mia delicious. I asked for the fish pasta it was about 14Euro and the Pizza 11 euro more than enough for 2 persons. Just consider that the coperto is 2.5 per person. Besides the coperto price, I think everything was delicious and a very good place to eat authentic Naples food!

This mom and pop restaurant was exactly what I was looking for on my last evening in southern Italy. My grandson and I were reading the menu outside, when the owner and his wife came out to warmly invite us in. We were seated and the menu presented to us, drinks arrived shortly after. My glass of white house wine was delicious. While we waited for our Eggplant Parmesan and Pizza Margarita we enjoyed the colorful cosy ambiance of the little restaurant and its lively music of traditional Italian songs. We did not have to wait too long for our food, it arrived piping hot and totally scrumptious. Best surprise - the bill was at least half of what we have paid so far on our travels through Italy. Stop by, you will not be disappointed!

Small but convenient traditional restaurant in a Nardones road in Napoli.. we suggest both seafood and Pizza options. Atmosphere reminds me Greek restaurant (full white and blue contrast) .. quality amazing but we didn’t like to see alive lobster in the tank waiting… someone to order…

The service was terrible! It was such an unpleasant experience. The staff treated us terribly and was not friendly at all. You could tell the staff treated our table differently than the rest. The only pleasant part of the experience was the server from El Salvador who was gracious and kind. Additionally, the food was mediocre. I don't recommend this place at all! You could do much better. This really ruined my time in Naples.

Only god (and my wife) knows how much i love thos family restaurants. From the first minut i saw it i liked it. Something in the simple and humble decor made happy that i chose this place. The workers were very kind from the start and they worked very hard to get everything done on time. My dish was the most surprising dish i ever expected. A local pasta dish with potatos and provolone cheese... god, it was tasty... we took the fresh salad (which was very fresh) and an excellent pizza to top it all. Very well done!!! If i could give more then 5 stars, i would. Also a great beer. Thanks guys for making me very happy...

This is antique fried pizza, much like, to me, a big fried empanada with lots of cheese and a little meat. It is made by hand and cooked as you order. It will be given to you fresh from the frying pan. The place is small and most of the time there is a line and you have to wait for a while for your order. For me, it is worth the wait. You have to taste a different way of “pizza” preparation and the end result is surprisingly delicious. The generous amount of cheese melts in your mouth and the dough, although fried, is very soft. When you are visiting Naples, Italy, I recommend trying this fried pizza.

If you want to eat the classical Napoletan pizza fritta, this is the place you must come to. We had the classic (just tomato and cheese) for 4.90 EUR. It didn't have much sauce though which was a bit disappointing. I'm not gonna lie: it's just a fried pizza, so it is nothing mind blowing. It's good of course (how can a fried pizza taste bad?), but it wasn't that special. It works as a snack to share in two since it's quite heavy for just one person in my opinion.

A really great place — we tried fried pizza here for the first time, and it was an amazing discovery. €4.90 per pizza, and then you have to leave your ticket on the counter with a coin on top so the cook will prepare it — a hidden gem in the streets of Naples. There are three small tables outside where you eat standing up. We loved it. We tried the classic one and another that was recommended to us, which had meatballs inside. Both were excellent — a fantastic spot.

Super fast, super friendly and super tasty. Switched to English when our Italian failed, didnt make us feel out of place and took our time to order correctly. The food was super fast, the chef was very cheerful and the taste was delicious. If you want a high quality, fast taste of naples street food I would recommend.

The museum is a beautiful building and worthy of a visit itself. A must visit if you have been to Pompeii and Herculaneum. We queued about 20 minutes so during peak times I would recommend buying tickets online beforehand. Entrance fee is 20€ and worth the money. There is so much to see so allow at least three hours for your visit. All statues and artefacts are beautifully displayed as you meander around the museum from hall to hall. The inner courtyards are also inviting for a little rest. There is a cafe and bookshop onsite as well.

Perhaps the best museum I've ever been to. Having visited Pompeii and Herculaneum a few days before, this place was a must after that experience. There are so many artefacts, in particular paintings, which come from these places, that really enriches your understanding and increases your sense of awe. As someone who loves ancient statues, this was like heaven. So many wonderful ones there is no point in picking any out, there are so many here it is bewildering. If you have any interest in antiquity then this should be on your bucket list. We went on a Friday in late October. There were plenty of people but it was quieter than I expected. We spent over 4 hours here and we were not bored for a second. Highly recommended.

So beautiful! a must-see in Naples! This museum was one of the highlights of our trip. It’s full of stunning life-sized statues with the most amazing details, plus incredible art and artifacts from Pompeii. You really get a feel for what ancient life was like. You could easily spend hours here just wandering around and taking it all in, there’s so much to see!

This museum is big. So many artifacts in there. Tons of statues. We went to see the Pompeii ruins as it houses the largest collection of items unearthed. Even glass kitchen wares. Even to move quickly through it you'll need a few hours. Oh, and dont skip out on the Secret Cabinet section. I cant post pics as Google will shoot down this post. Google it, its pretty interesting.

What an amazing place. You will need more than one day to see everything. Easy to fet to if you use the metro. Magnificent statues and sculptures. The mummy section is definitely a must. I can't recommend this place enough.

If you’re visiting Pompeii or Herculaneum, this museum is an absolute must. It’s where all the best-preserved artifacts have been taken—statues, mosaics, frescoes, personal belongings, even entire floors and walls. You’ll see ancient Roman life brought vividly to life in a way the ruins alone just can’t match. The collection is massive and awe-inspiring. Every room feels like a discovery—one moment you’re staring at intricate jewelry, the next you’re face to face with a marble sculpture that looks like it was carved yesterday. The detail, the history, the scale—it’s almost overwhelming (in the best way). Plan way more time than you think you’ll need. Seriously—give yourself a full day if you’re even mildly into history, art, or archaeology. One of the most impressive museums I’ve ever visited.

One of the best museums I’ve been to. It was clean, excellent signage, and well staffed. The exhibits are world class and speak for themselves; a must visit if anywhere near Naples.

Surprising hidden gem—plain on the outside, but absolutely stunning inside. The lavish Baroque décor, painted ceilings, and ornate chapels filled with marble and frescoes are breathtaking. It’s quiet and peaceful even in a busy area—perfect for soaking in history and artistry.

What a big surprise! There's a hidden gem behind that palace facade. You enter through the Baroque looking entryway at the Piazza of the same name. We were totally amazed at what we saw inside this church. I would have never known based on its exterior. It's immensely grand and ornate as you walk inside. The ceiling and chapels are covered in Italian Baroque art from famous artists such as Francesco Solimena and Luca Giordano. There are alters made of precious stones and marble statues. All of which are saintly and historical. I didn't realize it at the time, but people do go there to be healed. There is a chapel dedicated to a Naples doctor & saint named Giuseppe Moscati. His tomb lies under the chapel altar. He is known for taking care of the sick and the poor. There was a line of people waiting to enter a part of the church that houses his personal quarters and belongings. We didn't get to see it, so I can't comment on it. It's just something to consider seeing while you're there. This whole area is full of historical churches. I mean, you could visit churches all day long if that's your thing. This is a great option if you only have time to visit one, and it's free to the public. They accept donations as most churches do.

After visiting several cathedrals and basilicas around the world, this one felt special and particularly holy. It doesn't look very exciting from outside. Tremendous inside, beautiful colours, construction and art. There is a big section dedicated to the Saint Giuseppe Moscati and a room with much information about his life. There is also a reconstruction of his office and bedroom, with what appeared to be original items, and his tomb. Highly recommended stop for quiet reflection if you're in Napoli.

What a beautiful church built in the 1440s, featuring baroque architecture and stunning ceilings. I was lucky enough to attend a Eucharistic Mass on my visit, something very special indeed.

Fantastic tour our guide was brilliant had great sense of humour and was expecting the tour to be similar to other catacomb tours but totally different, was great to hear about some of the practices around treatment of the dead with a confident and great story teller. Would highly recommend.

Tours take place hourly, with options for French and Italian. Booking in advance recommended. Unfortunately photos of actual catacombs not allowed as part of the Vatican. A very interesting tour with our knowledgeable guide- Valentina- thank you! The catacombs tours (also of San Gennaro) are part of a project to revive this area of Naples “Sanita”- a worthy cause!

Fantástic tour by a local community leader, it's very important to see the other side of Naples. The tour is made by a cooperative of young people.

Ticket entrance 15€. With the ticket you have free entrance to visit the other catacombs. The tour explains you vert well both history and traditions. You cannot take photos but you will see tunnels, skulls and graves. I thought the tour would be longer (you only walk like 50m)

Very interesting tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. It was so interesting to hear the stories about the catacombs and experience bring there in the flesh! The only thing I'd say to improve this experience/tour would be to allow us to go back into the church we walked through to allow more photo opportunities of the stunning architecture.

Interesting museum with affordable price. The gardens in monastery are beautiful and worth checking. In front of the museum you can enjoy nice views on Naples.

The Certosa di San Martino was a chapterhouse of the Carthusian order built just below Castel Sant'Elmo for protection. Due to this location, it shares the same beautiful views of the city as the fortress above. If you don’t feel like going up, the selfie opportunities here almost as good. 😊 The order was suppressed in the 18th century and the monastery and its gardens now serve as a museum. The most unusual items here are a collection of papier-mache nativity scenes. The largest of them filled a room! The single most beautiful place in the monastery is the church. Simply breathtaking.

One of the best Museum in the city of Naples. For the quality and the quantity of the pieces of art this museum contains should be already being in the top list of every trip in Naples. In addition you get also an amazing view of the city and an outside area in the back really nice and peaceful. It’s a pity there is no a cafe there! The church and its surrounding chambers is simply astonishing, with no single spot left for an additional decoration. The collection is impressive i think they should better present them with few but key notes (at least the most important piece of art). In addiction all of this the ticket is really cheap! 6€ for a full one and 2€ with under 25. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the place is not busy at all so you can really enjoy it!

Lovely 2 hrs walking around. The view is gorgeous. The trees in the Garden were still blooming in February. Was a rainy cold day but it didn't deter us & was enjoyed it.

I came across this in a special guidebook about Naples, and on our last day, we went for a little pastry, and I'm glad we did. Tiny little place, the guy sat behind the counter, smoking, asked us if we wanted to try something delicious, and then he just handed us a fresh little bun filled with pork and egg. It was piping hot and so delicious. We had two little pastries as well. We sat in this very simple family run place and had a little piece feel of what naples is about. Wouldn't travel across town, but it was an 800m walk from our place and well worth it.

Strange place.. as soon as we entered - very old guy just put some bread in our hands, then we tried to ask for some pastry and instead of 2 pieces - he put double-triple amount of everything. In the end he charged us with 10 euros. We threw all this bakery in the bin, because it was not good and some of it were not fresh(

Delicious pizzas! Both my partner and myself were very happy with our order. It is quite large for an individual pizza so watch out for the portion size if your appetite is not known to be huge.

Oops…Not the Best Pizza I’ve Ever Had We visited the place without a reservation around 6 in the evening. We tried to request a table for two inside, but only outdoor seating was available. We ordered two pizzas and a side; the portion sizes were generous. However, there was too much moisture in my pizza, and the bottom was burnt, which created a bitter taste. While the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the authentic Neapolitan vibe, the environment wasn't very pleasant due to the smells and flies from the street. I had high expectations for this place, but it turned out to be a pass for me. I do not recommend it, and I will not revisit this restaurant again.

Lovely experience. I didn’t go in the restaurant but got pizza from the outside sales spot. Employee was great, we picks pizza and they took it inside to cook. I got five pizzas and it cost something like 10 euro total Pizza was great and the value made me consider immediate retirement. I would absolutely recommend stopping. I love pizza and this was an absolute must experience.

Honestly, considering this has received so many good reviews and has been here for so long, it was a little disappointing. Yes, it has tradition and the waiters working there were really polite with us. But the pizza just was not good enough and not worth it. There are better places to eat and more affordable.

While in Naples, we tried pizza in different restaurants, and in our opinion, the pizza at Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba is the best in all of Naples. The dough is perfect, the tomatoes have a great slightly sweet flavor, and the toppings are high quality. Everything comes together in a truly perfect taste! We also tried the seafood pasta — it was absolutely delicious. We came back for the pizza three times! The place itself is also great, and both the staff and the owner are super friendly. A must-visit spot on the map of Naples!

If you're looking for a traditional restaurant, this is the one in Naples. I found it on a Reddit post, and it was delicious! The meatballs and eggplant lasagna was amazing! (A little too much oil but it's Italy) This is a hidden gem!

Loved the old school authentic atmosphere. Very welcoming service. Excellent food. We had the eggplant parmigian and sausage with escarole. It was hard to decide among the offerings as so many sounded good. You absolutely have to order the Babá (Neapolitan rum cake) for dessert.

Definitely worth taking a walk out of the main tourist drag to visit this great little authentic cantina. There was fast service and genuine fresh food. Wife had the tripe which she loved and the little one had meatballs. The set menu of the day was a good deal and the cheap carafe of wine helped us have a great start to the day! Worth the visit to not pay tourist prices but we felt the portions were a little small and service a little amateur.

I was in a one-star mood and the restaurant was close to my hotel, so I decided to test it out. Making reservations required guaranteeing with a credit card so instead I emailed them and they accepted my reservation. It is a great view of the bay of Naples for sure. My table was on the outdoor terrace and it was too windy so I asked to move inside. It looks like you have to walk thru the restaurant to get to the small rooftop pool but I could be mistaken. Everyone has been very friendly and professional befitting a high-end restaurant. They offered Champagne as an aperitif but I asked for an Americano. Not because I’m American :) but because I like Negronis very much and I didn’t want to jump straight to that strong of a cocktail. It wasn’t the best one I’ve had - too watery and too much ice. I like the background music. The Amuse Bouche was very well presented but not that tasty. Since I ate one Amuse Bouche out of the suggested order (my bad), they tried to clear them before I was done. They offered 3, 6, or 8 courses. Based on my experience so far, I decided to cut my losses and go for 3. I asked for wine pairings and they gladly supported. They were very accommodating with one food allergy I have. The fresh/warm bread with local butter & olive oil was well presented and delicious. The Americano got better towards the end :) The 5-Spice 65-degree egg with mozzarella first course wasn’t bad. The sommelier described and poured a local white to go with the egg course. Everyone spoke perfect English. The white wine was ok but not worth writing about. The waiter very professionally cleared the the crumbs after the first course. I unfortunately have a shellfish allergy. The second course was a rock fish and cuttlefish pasta. They assured me no shellfish was in it but as I started to eat it, my throat started to tingle and itch and I was clearly starting to have a reaction. I stopped, they apologized and went to prepare something else. Very gratuitous about it. I would recommend ordering a table at the window overlooking the bay! The replacement second course was delicious. It was a Ragu without meat but replicating the flavor with Japanese ingredients like miso, etc. The paired red wine was also excellent. I’m not a vegetarian but the second course also came with a meatless meatball. It was good but no one would mistake it for a meatball. This might be a good place for a business dinner (with a table at the window overlooking the bay). The WiFi appears to be only for hotel guests. But my 5G was wicked fast. The dessert which had kefir in it, which I like, was tasty but not super special. The dessert wine was hyper-sweet but I would try again with a dessert course. Thinking back, they were (probably unintentionally) stingy with the water. The surprise dessert was again beautifully presented but 2 of the 4 marinated fruit tasted off. I hope I’m ok tomorrow. :) The watermelon juice was very good. I am certainly stuffed. The restroom is on the first floor of the hotel, BTW. El Comandante, please don’t respond that you are displeased that I was displeased and that I should come back again. Your negatives detract from your positives. Not that you asked my opinion but I would keep most things the same and work on your less tasty dishes.

Pros: Wonderful staff. Very attentive. The focaccia was really really good. We were impressed by the spread they laid out for appetizer and dessert. Cons: I’m sure this place is someone’s cup of tea (I’ve seen the glowing reviews), but we are not those people. The food seemed inventive and honestly, a bit strange, just for the sake of it, or to see how “out of the box” they could go. We’ve had Michelin-starred food for much less $ and much better taste. My husband and I were given 2 different menus - while mine was personalized to remove my allergies (thoughtful touch!), mine also did not have prices included, only his did, which we didn’t appreciate. Perhaps this isn’t rare, but we’ve never seen it done, even at high-end restaurants. I also must mention - this place was truly ridiculously expensive. The wine was in the ballpark of 40 euros per glass at minimum. All in all, we would not return even for a free meal. Maybe we just have some simple tastes, but if you’re like us, you’ve been warned.

Even in its elegant sophistication, the innovative Evoluzioni tasting menu inviting you to explore and accept the experience and feel the excellent ingredients. You go from dishes that spread new unknown flavours, to others who, soft and gentle, amaze and caress all the senses. It means that you are faced with something really deserving and intimate. The rabbit was amazing and we discovered a new way to enjoy the spaghetti and shellfish, the Green Zone were close to perfection. The only flaw, on the service, you must have the best and unfortunately we did not receive it. I’d suggest the women at the entrance to improve a more warm welcoming and not talk to each other so loud. Precious and valuable wine list.

Overall it was quite disappointing experience, medium value at very very high cost. We enjoyed the fanciness and the beautifully served dishes, but to be honest many of the dishes just weren't tasty. We even returned one dish (both of us) because we found it to be super salty. We ate in many restaurants far more tasty at fifth of the cost. We took the 6 course menu. Don't get mistaken the dishes are maybe not that big but you end up with a very full stomach. The starters were amazing, alas the really good things are always too small. The deserts were also very good. The other dishes were mediocre. The wine selection is interesting and exotic and the sommelier picked amazing wines for us. Bottom line not worth the price.

Quite uninspired cuisine, not deserving of their Michelin star. Off flavors abounded, from the not-quite-anything taste of the amuse-bouche to the school luncheon taste of the marinated fruits. The egg was good of course, but not memorable. No standard wine pairing was made available, so I asked for a recommendation. My mistake; the bottle they supplied was thoughtlessly chosen. I only had the three course menu, but I doubt more of their food would have helped their batting average. Good visuals though, a nice view of the sea and the food probably photographs well. Something for the Instagrammers maybe, but not for anyone who bothers to taste what they eat.
