Gran Caffè Gambrinus, a 19th-century coffee house located near via Toledo and Plebiscito Square in Naples, is a historical gem that has stood the test of time. Adorned with statues, paintings, and frescos by renowned Italian artists, this elegant café is steeped in literary history and known for its role in popularizing the concept of 'suspended coffee.'
We had a wonderful experience at Cambrinus in Naples. The lemon sorbet was refreshing, the cappuccino was great, and we also tried a delicious local specialty filled with ham and cheese. Everything was very tasty, including the tea. The atmosphere felt like being in a museum – so beautiful and elegant. We were given a lovely table right by the window, and the staff provided excellent service. Truly a memorable visit!🫶🏼

The food was generous, rich in flavor and the patisserie crunchy and sweet, the waiters don’t really seem to enjoy their gig, but that’s pretty avg in Napoli (or Italy). In spite of that, the service is fast as almost everything just needs to be warmed up. Coffee is great and fresh OJ is a little ray of sunshine trough the overall experience.
Carlos L — Google review
They have on of the best pastries in Italy. But the service could be better and the place could be taken care better. We went there twice, one time for breakfast and other for an afternoon coffee. On both occasions the service was pretty average. The coffee nothing special, but the pastries. Perfection! The best of all was the sfogliatella, nice layers of perfect crust with a filling that wasn't too sweet. I recommend for a good pastry treat in Naples.
Thiago B — Google review
Centrally located, prime spot for people watching and beautiful building. This is by far one of the best espresso we had during our trip in Italy. So good that we went back 3 times in total during our visit in Naples. The pastries were great too.. as for the service as expected during high season. Fatigue, not very friendly.. probably sick of tourists like us and under staff given they didn't open a section of the restaurant and would rather have customers wait in the queue. Worth a visit.. just don't expect much from the service. Pastries and espresso.. definitely Yes! Absolutely love their menu, photos and descriptions. Perfect!!
Jackie S — Google review
Great spot for breakfast, we came here a couple of times. Fantastic people watching and great location to sit and enjoy your morning food. Coffee is good, pastries are fresh and delicious and the staff are brilliant. It is a touch on the pricey side for Naples but it is worth it. The selection of drinks is probably the most substantial of all the spots we went to in Naples. One thing I will say is I stopped off for a late afternoon Sfogliatella and unlike in the morning which was brilliant this time it had very obviously been sat for many hours and the filling had gone a bit past its best so I would recommend if you want the pastries go at breakfast when they have just been made as they are brilliant. I had the best pain au chocolat of my life here

We stopped by this café and it was such a delightful experience! The coffee was excellent, their pastries were fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is charming and elegant. The staff were very kind and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy authentic Italian coffee and dessert in a beautiful setting.
Oumaima O — Google review
Gran Caffè Gambrinus is a place that leaves a lasting impression with just a single cup of coffee. I stopped by briefly for one espresso — the “strapazzato” — and that short moment completely redefined what coffee means to me. Though I spent no more than five minutes there, the depth, aroma, and intensity of that cup made time feel suspended. It wasn’t just about caffeine; it was about heritage, craftsmanship, and emotion in a cup. It’s rare to find a place where such a simple experience feels so profound. I know that even if I return years later, that brief memory — and the anticipation of tasting it again — will stay with me for a very long time.
Dave — Google review
An interesting place and very unusual because of the way you place your order. First, you go to the counter, order from the cashier and then you go to the bar or the pastry section. It can be very confusing for tourists because there are no signs explaining what to do or how it works. My recommendation is to first take a look at all the cake names and then go to the counter. All in all, the coffee is excellent and the cakes are unbelievably beautiful and delicious. Definitely a place you must visit!

Scaturchio is a historic pasticceria in Naples, dating back to 1905 and known as the city's oldest. It is famous for its traditional Neapolitan pastries, including the iconic pastiera, a sweet semolina tart filled with orange blossom flavored ricotta made from a century-old recipe. The Ministeriale is another must-try specialty—a dark chocolate disk with creamy liqueur, ricotta, and hazelnut filling that was created in 1919.
Shockingly good! You can tell the dough is well & long fermented, rose properly. Everything I had was so good, I did go there in the morning around 8 am. But the quality of bread & pastries are top!! The donuts was one of the best I ever had. And I did eat tons of donuts in my life. It is all fermentation ❤️

⭐ Pasticceria Giovanni Scaturchio – The true taste of Naples! ⭐ This historic pastry shop is an authentic gem for anyone who loves Neapolitan tradition. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the aroma of fresh pastry and sweet cream. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile. We tried the famous sfogliatella and the iconic baba al rum — both were simply delicious, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. The place has a nostalgic charm that takes you back in time to the old Naples. Definitely worth a stop, whether you grab a pastry to go or sit down for a coffee while watching the lively rhythm of the city. A must-visit for anyone who wants to taste real Neapolitan sweetness! ☕🍮🇮🇹

Was there twice and would definitely come back there again and again. This is the best place to try traditional pastries and delicious coffee. First time I was taking take away and the way it was packed is just amazing. Thank you for recommendations and exceptional customer service💕
Taisiia D — Google review
In a previous post, I mentioned that I let my son have gelato 🍨 without me in Napoli 🇮🇹. Of course there was a good reason for that. I was planning on having baba at Scaturchio! As you probably know, there is alcohol in baba, so my son couldn't have any. Baba is a Napoletan specialty. Well, it's also a French 🇫🇷 specialty and a Polish 🇵🇱 specialty. 😅 I read a lot about baba and its origin, and the most common theory is that it's a babka to which Stohrer (a pastry chef in Paris) added rhum to make it less dry for the French king. This was then brought to Napoli by the French and this is where it became popular. Of course I was not there at the time and everybody has a different version of this story. So don't get mad at me if yours differs, that's just the one that makes the most sense in MY opinion. 😇 I like baba a lot for 2 reasons: 1) I don't eat it often 2) it was one of my grand-mother's 🥰 favorites. That said, I think it's very hard to achieve a good baba. You need to find a good balance between sweet and alcohol in the syrup and you need to make sure the dough is moist enough so the syrup travels properly through it, but not too much so it doesn't fall apart. I think this one was close to perfect, if not perfect. 👍 The tart my wife had was not good, though, unfortunately. 👎 Plus it came broken and it was crazy expensive (€6 as opposed to €3.5 for the baba 😳). The total price was quite high, €15 for 2 coffees and 2 pastries, but we sat at a terrace in the middle of the tourist area so that was to be expected. 🤷 The service was kind of slow but correct. Now I need to go back there to try all the other types of baba cause that was just the classic one and they have lots of fancy ones! 😋 Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: 7/10 How I felt afterwards: 7/10

We took few different cakes and all tasted very nicely, they were not too sweet, coffee was very good as well. Definitely nice place with climate. Re different cakes it was all explained on the piece of paper with pictures so there was no confusion when ordering them.
Feliz P — Google review
It's good, but the prices are too high, let alone for Southern Italy. It felt like a tourist trap to be honest, since there are much better places where you can spend literally less than half. The pastiera was good (but 6 EUR for a slice seems WAY too much), and the frittatina di pasta too (4 EUR). The thing is that none of them blew my mind, they were good but quite standard. There are much better places in more hidden streets such as Pasticceria Pascal. I would recommend it if you're visiting Napoli for the first time, since you must have a breakfast at Scartuchio... But probably wouldn't come here if you're looking for an authentic place where local people go.
Martín S — Google review
Tried to find a place to grab some sweets for us to save for breakfast the next day for an early flight. This was one of the only ones open with options left in the case. We grabbed the caprese cake and the lemon option as well, Sfogliatella, and frolla…. The cakes were to die for!!! So moist even the next day. Definitely recommend stopping in here for your sweet tooth! They even wrapped everything up to-go very nicely
Alsi — Google review
Napoli one of the oldest and best reputed pastry shop since 1905. We have two sfogliatela and two napolitana. They are massive big so one and one to share are enough. Delicate pasta outside and inside is fill with a creamy texture similar to crema pastelera. Really nice both. If you need a punch of energy it’s a great options. The accept credit card as some of the smaller shop don’t. The picture is not completely accurate as i remember token when we eat most of the pastries.

Chalet Ciro 1952 in Mergellina is a cherished Naples establishment offering a wide array of flavors crafted from locally-sourced, high-quality ingredients. Established in 1952, this family-run gelateria overlooks the picturesque Mergellina seafront and invites visitors to indulge in their famed rum-soaked baba gelato and divine almond and honey creation. Additionally, Chef Pepe's favorite pizza can be enjoyed here.
The bar itself is quite small, but I Cornetti, the croissants were huge. Lots of choices to choose from. One of the best breakfast you could have. I simply loved and enjoyed very much my croissant with Nutella, and the espresso coffee was superlative as well, a real Italian coffee. We also bought different pastries like baba, sfogliatelle, millefoglie that were very excellent and everyone enjoyed them a lot.

Chalet Ciro in Naples is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The sfogliatelle? Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted—crispy, flaky perfection with a rich, flavorful filling that made every bite unforgettable. And the views? Simply breathtaking! Gazing out at Mount Vesuvius while savoring a delicious treat felt like a dream. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Chalet Ciro is a must-stop spot for authentic flavors and stunning scenery. Can't wait to return!

Two days in a row I ordered sandwiches from here. I’m an American visiting this beautiful country and wanting to enjoy their culture and food. On both occasions I was given the wrong sandwich, and on the second belittled by the large Italian man behind the deli counter… The first time, we ordered a prosciutto and salami sandwich that was positioned in view of the deli. Our ticket was sent to the back of the deli, versus grabbing one of the sandwiches from view. As we walked down the boardwalk away from Chalet Ciro and finally opened our sandwich, we found ham wrapped in a hotdog with some cheese. We chalked it up to language barriers. The second time, I pointed at the sandwich specifically and ordered from the checkout to be sure not to misunderstand. Instead of prosciutto and ham, I received a tuna sandwich. While it was good. It was not what I ordered… I’m respectful when I travel, and while not fluent, speak to the best of my ability to show appreciation. This man was rude, and clearly gave me the wrong food both times while shouting out “Miami Beach” while grabbing and handing me my sandwich. I don’t live anywhere near Miami, but he’s obviously generated his own opinions from his position behind the counter…So unprofessional and off putting… shame on you… The food was amazing, if you can handle the belittlement of the older and larger man behind the counter stop here. If not, keep walking.

I think this is one of the (must-visit) points of attraction in Napoli…. Great coffee - Delicious ice cream - Amazing view of the sea - Traditional Italian dress of waiters takes you in a time journey to the 50s … Wonderful atmosphere …. Definitely I would love to go visit again

Tony C — Google review
Extremely Disappointing — Don’t Waste Your Time We came here based on all the glowing reviews, but honestly, this place is nothing special. Most of the products clearly aren’t handmade by the owner, they look mass-produced and identical to what you’ll find at every other nearby stall, right down to the packaging. Sure, they fry some doughnuts... but that’s hardly unique or impressive. The gelato? Laughable, we were given two of the tiniest scoops imaginable. The tiramisu was bland and flavourless, and the rum baba was so dry it was inedible. We made a long journey out of our way to visit, and left hugely disappointed. Apart from being in a good location, everything else is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. As for customer service, don’t expect any. Staff were indifferent and unwelcoming. Overall, poor service, mediocre food, and factory-made products with boutique prices. Avoid.
Vijai ( — Google review
Very good ice cream, creamy and well made. A medium is €3.8, so very well priced for the quality. The only reason it does not have full stars is because I like my chocolate flavor to be even deeper and stronger. It is very well located because it's perfect to get ice cream and walk around the bay.

When they a tourist they increase the price and charge for coperto for a cup of coffee, Oddio ! They charge for one espresso 3.5 € and small cappuccino 4€, it’s super high prices for Napoli, that’s because we are tourists and they can scam us !

Carraturo is a renowned bakery in Naples, Italy, with a rich history dating back to 1837. The pastry shop is famous for its traditional Italian pastries, cookies, and confections. One of its most celebrated offerings is the curly and frolla sfogliatelle, which are highly sought after both in Italy and internationally. The bakery's location near Porta Capuana adds to its charm as it embodies the perfect blend of taste and tradition.
We tried around 4 different traditional desserts and we loved every single piece!! Great prices, fresh pastry products! Dont hesitate to try everything, less sweet sfogliatella than the rest and absolutely banging BabaAuRum!! Keep it alive!!

This bakery is close to our Airbnb, we came here grab our morning coffee and breakfast. There are many different types of pastries, some traditional Naples style, some regular ones. The staff is here nice and helpful, though they don’t speak much English, they were being very patient and helpful. There some little high tables if you decide to eat in.

I can't recommend this bakery enough. It was close to our accommodation and we decided to give it a go. I can confirm the best cornetto I've ever tried in my life (and I've travelled across Italy a lot). It was full of chocolate (real chocolate praline) and they offer savoury options too. It's a must if you are in the area!

A magical place for every sweet tooth! 😌 The staff was really nice and helpful, and they even explained everything to me about every cookie that caught my eye. And finally they wrapped my sweets in a package, tied with a bow. It was literally an experience and it made my day. PS: everything you see in the picture cost only 5€

If you’re looking for an excellent and affordable place in Naples for sweets, snacks, gelato, or drinks, this is the spot for you! 🇮🇹🫶🏼🥰 We discovered this charming place during our last few days in the city, and we were so disappointed we didn’t find it sooner because it was wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly, and everything we tried was fantastic. We even came back twice in one day because we were so eager to try their ice cream! The prices were quite fair too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Naples, especially if you’re near the station. It’s so good!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Il Vero Bar del Professore is a renowned espresso bar and cafe located near the charming Piazza del Plebscito in Naples. Managed by Raffaele Ferrieri, this family-run establishment has been serving up traditional Neapolitan coffee with a touch of innovation for over forty years. The cafe offers an extensive selection of coffee variants, including their famous hazelnut coffee, which has become a must-try for both locals and tourists.
Amazing pastries. The sfogliatelle was warm and shatteringly crisp and had a delicious orange flavor in the ricotta. the maritozzi… so good. Baristas are a bit grumpy but maybe bc I’m a tourist. It’s fine their food is so good.

We came for an after lunch treat and espresso. Enjoyed a sfogliatella and Cafe del Nonno at their bar. Was quick, fun and delicious! The sfogliatelle was not warm and already opened in the middle but still shatteringly crisp and had a delicious orange flavor in the ricotta

We took take-away coffee because we had to go to a pizza making course. Normal coffee. Courteous staff, very fast service and normal price.
Stella P — Google review
It’s super located for a after opera drink ( needed to flex that I been cultural sorry). They had a really interesting looking cocktail on the menu. It’s called their ‘special’ or something. I can tell you: it’s strong! Definitely have one of you like to go and enjoy the night after. Great drink but pushy waiter that gave the bill with the drinks and adding “AND my tip”. Totally rude and really doesn’t do your business any good. Would have come back every evening if we didn’t have to get to hear when getting our drink. The strength of the drink made me forget about it though.
Nicky — Google review
Attention! Tourist trap! I don't understand why they charge different prices for takeaway and on-site food. We were seated, all items were at least one euro more expensive. The coffee was good, but otherwise we were dissatisfied. The gentleman gave us the bill and then quickly took it without even letting us check it properly! The bill was definitely not well made!
Jessica P — Google review
Definitely NOT recommended! Very unfriendly service and comparatively expensive. We had two coffees. Suddenly, we were prompted to pay by the bill being placed on the table. The waiter then wouldn't leave and stood closely behind me. We had the exact change, but they refused to accept our bill (a 5 Euro note from an older series (obviously still valid)). Following this, the waiter raised his voice and initially didn't want to let us leave. Not a nice experience.
Magdalena K — Google review
Do not come to this place. They charged us 8 euro for two coffees (espresso and latte on the terrace). They were surprised when we told them that we do not have cash and were super unfriendly because of that, one of the waiters literally threw the receipt at me 🥶
Laura M — Google review
Very disappointed with these stale and pricey mini cannolis. 2 EUR per cannoli and there was hardly any filling and the shell was stale like it is days old. I went to Gambrinus right after and their mini cannoli (more tasty and fresh shell at a premium establishment) was 1.50 EUR and the delicious Sicilian cannolis at Dolcezze Siciliane were even less expensive at less than a euro. I don't mind paying more for a delicious treat, but this wasn't worth it at all. Yuck!

Cuori di Sfogliatella is a renowned bakery and cafe located just outside the station, offering a variety of traditional sweets including their flagship product, the well-made and balanced sfogliatelle. These pastries come in two types: sfogliatella riccia, characterized by thin, flaky layers of pastry dough shaped into a cone or clam-like form, and sfogliatella frolla.
This is a perfect place to pop into before and after your train/bus journey. The cakes in the fridges all look amazing. You can get a fresh coffee and have it at the bar like a local or sit outside in the hustle and bustle and watch the world go by. I had a warm sfogliatella that I’ve wanted to try for a long while, the Ragu… it didn’t disappoint. The lovely lady that served us spoke broken English and was extremely helpful, my Italian failed me when I was asked a question, essentially did I want it hot or cold 😂. Anyway, I’d definitely recommend a call in if you’re around.

Lovely cafe, outdoor covered tables, cappuccino a bit strong for my taste but lovely coffee. A nice variety of pastries. Prices reasonable and staff friendly and helpful. Came back again a few days later for more pastries and mango smoothies. Yum Yum.

Absolutely incredible sfogliatella! We stopped by Cori di Sfogliatelle near Piazza Garibaldi by the train station and were blown away. We tried the pistachio, baci, and chocolate — all were fresh, rich, and bursting with flavor. The texture was perfect, crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Honestly, the best sfogliatelle we've ever had. A must-visit if you're in Naples!

Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the setting. Staff were noticeably slow to serve, even though the shop wasn’t particularly busy at the time. It made the experience feel a bit frustrating, especially if you're short on time before a train or flight. As for the pastries: decent, but unremarkable. They looked good in the display but didn’t offer much in terms of flavor or freshness. Not bad, just not memorable. A convenient stop thanks to its location, but don’t expect much beyond that.

It was totally disaster. This place is %100 tourist trap. We ate 3 deserts 2 espresso 1 orange juice. 27 euros.. 😱.. They were extremely sweet. We could not finish creamy baba.. In the toilet there was no soup the door was broken there was no hand dryer or paper..It was like an ancient roman style..
Cigilo — Google review
Great selection of sweet and savory sfogliatella! A bit pricey and usually crowded, but the fast turnover means pastries come out fresh from the oven all the time. Perfect for a sweet treat or light breakfast by the train station. Coffee is excellent too!

Delicious experience, can get crowded though. We had a very nice selection of dishes and thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited in the morning and most of the items were freshly made. The pista and classic Baba were simply amazing. They also have a washroom to use.

The bar Caffè Ciorfito is a favorite of coffee lovers in central Naples. The espresso is world-renowned and the cookies are delicious, making this the perfect place to relax after a busy day. The service is friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable.
They have amazing ricotta cheese pastries and their margherita pizzas were so cheap, we bought a lot for our trip. The basil is a nice touch in them. Everything looked delicious and was served with froenfliness and beautifully packaged. They’re open early. Definitely recommend!
Britz M — Google review
Great place for breakfasts. English speaking staff, welcoming to foreigners. Coffee was good but a bit strong, depends how you like it I guess. We received two small almond cookies with it, they tasted amazingly. The sfogliatta was great, loved it. Mini-margerita was fine, but nothing special - needs a bit more sauce or moisture. We received lemon water for free, it was a nice addition.

Stopped by for a cappuccino and a caffè alla nocciola—both were excellent. Very authentic flavors, and I’m glad I found this coffee shop. A cozy spot worth revisiting!
Munsqtr — Google review
Great coffee. The barista very good at what he does. There are several drink options not just coffee. The sidewalk seating is quite nice. The price is not bad given it’s a busy tourist area.
Brian T — Google review
Nice and cheap. Coffee was great. Pastries were nice. One issue is that (like most caffes in Napoli) the price at the counter is different than the price at a table, but they don't really inform you that before you pay. The waitress was kind enough to help us sort the confusion - super kind. No issue, it was good.

I stopped twice in March - once ordering food to go, and another time to dine in. Both times the pastries and cappuccino were delicious, but as good as they were, the service and employees were better - friendly and accommodating.

Had a chance to have a late breakfast here after I came across it on tripadvisor and it’s definitely recommended! Ordered a marmalade croissant, hazelnut latte and ofcourse, cafe! All were great and service was on point. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite, definitely stop by.

What a gem. Very lucky to find this lovely place, while walking the centre of Naples. The coffees are the best ones around, a lovely touch to serve it accompanied by glass of sparkling water and pice of lemon. We were also served with small tasty marzipan treats. Excellent service and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Stylish and inviting, Stairs Coffee Shop in Naples is a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends. Offering delicious coffee and chocolate drinks as well as sandwiches and pastries, this bar is perfect for any occasion.
Hi, I'm Emily, and I'm from the United States. I work as a babysitter, and my husband, Dom, gave me a trip to Naples for our anniversary. Stairs is a beautiful and welcoming place with amazing food. We were greeted by a very lovely and friendly girl, Benedicta, who even agreed to bring me a spoon so I could let my dog, Skate, taste a little dessert. I will definitely come back!

Stopped here for a drink. Wished we hadn’t. Service was terrible, one waiter insisted on climbing over my legs and bag each time to reach a table next to me even though there was a better route. I asked him politely not to go that way but he ignored my request. After that I made an obstruction making it impossible for him to go “my way” and he was clearly unhappy with what I had done. So rude of him. The non alcoholic drink was nice and I was impressed by the snacks that they served. Pity about the low service level. Prices were too high in my opinion. I don’t recommend

When looking for restaurant options with eggs, specially for breakfast, this place came up in our search and we were very happy with it. They have a fairly wide selection of food and there are decent options to choose from for a hearty breakfast. The coffee was great and the meal was tasty. We just found the bacon too salty.
Ameya D — Google review
Very beautiful cafe to go for either an aperitivo with your friends or even to work with your laptop. Sometimes the music is too high so make sure you wear headphones if you go there for working reasons. The menu is very impressive ( you can even get waffles or brunch American style). The outside space can fit many people with about 20 tables. On top of that the location is great as it is located in the heart of vomero shopping district which is pedestrian as well. Definitely recommended 👌
Roberto L — Google review
A central place, beautiful location. However the service was very slow. The number of waiters was low compared to the customers.

More like a place for drinks or quick bites. Foods were too underwhelming and expensive. Service is ok.

Waiting an hour and a half. They forgot our eggs. Didn’t have the ingredients we wanted and waiting 20 minutes to let us know. The service was atrocious. Do not waste your time.

Pastry shop
Leopoldo Cafebar is a renowned name in Neapolitan pastry and taralleria, with multiple bars strategically located in the heart of the city. The brand has evolved from the successful Bottega del Tarallo opened by Leopoldo Infante in the 1960s to become a champion of Neapolitan gastronomic culture. Known for its classic nzogna e pepe taralli and a wide range of sweet treats, it offers a friendly environment with attentive staff.
5 stars If you're in Naples, you must stop by Leopoldo! I tried their classic rum-soaked dessert served in a cup with layers of soft sponge, rich cream, and juicy strawberries – absolutely divine. The dessert was beautifully balanced with hints of lemon and orange, adding a fresh citrusy twist to the sweet, boozy flavor. I also tried a soft pastry filled with creamy custard – warm, comforting, and not overly sweet. Everything was incredibly fresh and satisfying. Perfect for enjoying while sitting on the old stone streets. Highly recommended for anyone with a sweet tooth looking to taste authentic Neapolitan treats!

Variety of pastries , coffee drinks are unmatched so far. Service personnel could be friendlier and pay more attention to guests. However, this opinion comes from US consumer. In Europe service is not to our standards. Everything was delicious. Apparently they have many locations throughout Napoli.
Karine K — Google review
I liked the way it looked and decided to get some rest and get a tea. The staff was kind and helpful. Had variety of sweets of course and tea flavours. The yound man who took my order was kind enough to let me know that the charge os higher if you sit compared to take away, i knew that is a thing in Italy but i appreciated him informeling me! Prices were reasonable, i paid 9€ for both tea and a tiramisu. I find the price of tiramisu a bit high compared to the size/ portion, but it was super fresh and full of amazing flavour!
Ποπη Α — Google review
We had tiramisu for dessert. The taste was not that great with loads of fluffy cream - far from a home made tiramisu. The service was poor - long wait to pay. And they use a lot of single use plastic- they can go green.
Savio C — Google review
We had 2 gelato cones with 2 flavors each, which really soothed and cooled us down in the heat. They were delicious and at least the second best during our visit in Naples (only for 3,5€ each). As seems customary here, you first pay for the choice of either a cup or a cone and how many flavors you want. Then you choose in the next counter. Both interactions with the staff were of the nature annoyance and indifference. In the otherwise lively and delightful walk down Via Benedetto Croce it leaves sour taste (figuratively speaking).
18tobias — Google review
I enjoyed what I got. It was a tasty lemon bread pastry with cream inside and out. The service wasn’t great only because of one lady. The lady was clearly fed up with being there. She was wrapping our items with her back to us and slapped on the sticker, missing 3 times because of how angrily she tried putting it on. Besides that the place is good lol.
Gaia S — Google review
Had a quick stop at Leopoldo Café Bar and tried their pistachio cannoli along with an iced latte. The cannoli was fresh with a rich pistachio filling that wasn’t overly sweet, and the latte was smooth and refreshing. Cozy spot for a mid-day treat.

Im unsure why this place has only 3.9 stars because the Baba was spectacular and the sarchiapone (icy frappy sparkling lemonade) that the server recommended was perfect for the humid summer. This place is the gel of Napoli. I was getting tired of the small tight roads of endless shops of Napoli- and no matter how much i rested in cafes nothing gave me energy. The great service, the cool air from the air con, delicious baba and the sparkling lemonade made my day.

Leopoldo Infante is a renowned cafe and pastry shop with multiple locations in Naples, including Via L. Giordano, Via Scarlatti, Via V. Colonna, Via Toledo, and Via Benedetto Croce. The establishment offers a blend of traditional Neapolitan taralli 'nzogna and pepper alongside modern cafe bar offerings.
On Via Toledo 8 you will find one of Leopoldo Infante cafe bars. it has a small balcony outside where you can enjoy their great coffee and cakes. The coffee is made to perfection and the variety of cakes is amazing. We've tried the babà in a glass - a typical neapolitan cake served in a glass, different types of sfogliatelle - authentic cake made of thin pastry leaves and creamy filling and the best was pistachio filled cannoli. The cafebar is highly recommended

This was the breakfast spot provided by our hotel, Mirabilis Relais. We made it a habit to visit regularly in the morning. Due to its limited space, the place was often crowded. The menu featured a wide selection of sweets, including pastries, croissants, and various desserts, along with coffee and fresh juices. However, savory options were scarce—sandwiches were nowhere to be found, and taralli was the only non-sweet item available.
Ankur V — Google review
A nice pastry and gelato place. Pistachio gelato was a bit salty and good, the tiramisu quite tasteless. The service was fairly tired of tourists like me - “just take your cone and leave us alone” kind of. Supporting Gaza in the entrance added a political pinch to the culinary experience

This was my happy place in Naples. I drank my coffee there every morning and ate a baba with vanilla cream and wild berries, which was to die for. I still remember it every time I think of Naples. I recommend this place with all my heart. They are the best!

Good coffee bar with good solid pastries. A good alternative if you can't get to a better pastry shop. Their best is the nut covered hazelnut praline cream on a pastry dough. A lighter version of the Paris Brest.

Do NOT go here if you want to eat tasty neapolitan pastries. We couldn’t even eat a piece of it, it was definitely old, didn’t smell good and a waiter brought it with hair on it. Capuchino is overpriced and the atmosphere is not nice at all

Dessert heaven! They have beautifully decorated cakes and a lot of pastry options. There are large or normal sized pastries as well as miniature pastries. We didn't notice the mini ones until after we bought the large ones. They have mini pastries that they sell by the kilo which I would have loved to get for friends and family if I had space in my luggage. Everything in the shop including tables and chairs were in black and pink.. lovely shop.. service was decent . Have had better service

Sbuccia e Bevi Green Fruit Bar is a popular spot among students in Napoli, conveniently located near the university. Despite its small size, it offers a variety of vegan options throughout the day, including quinoa salads, vegetable-filled pastas, and veggie burgers for lunch. In the morning, patrons can enjoy fresh fruit salads, smoothies, juices, and homemade sweet treats.
My friend and I were visiting Napoli for two days. These were probably the best vegan pastries we ever had. We came back the day after to test what we hadn't the day before. Not so much space to eat it, only a little table and two chairs. Definitely a must do if you're vegan.

This is a stand serving 100% vegan sweet pastries. There are only 2 seats on the curb. It's worth a visit. We had a local rum soaked pastry, baba, which was exquisite. We also had chocolate covered pistachio cake & hazelnut cake, and a fruity cream cake. All of them were done to a high standard. Also had one of the best coffees in Naples here.

Worthy of a visit. I went here just for the dessert and I was not disappointed. The fruit tart was just divine and had a party in my mouth. I did try the pear and pistachio flavored dessert and I wasn’t a fan of that one. The brownie was also good. I was elated just to see a vegan spot with great dessert options. I will definitely visit again.

Amazing!! We went there for lunch and returned the next day because we loved it so much! The Vegan Bab and Mac Vegan were our favorites, so good! The Panino Bomb was also very nice. I recommend ordering a juice with it, it is a surprise what you get. The first time we got a sweet citrus juice and the second time watermelon-orange. The cheesecake was hands down the best cheesecake ever! A very cute place with amazing homemade pastries and food, and a sweet and talented chef! Very fair prices as well. Definitely recommend!

Delicious vegan bakery! We went during Easter holiday and they only had typical Easter sweets, but we were happy to try them in the vegan version, otherwise we would have never tried them! The babà was delicious, and so the cookies. Perfect for a yummy vegan breakfast (they have a couple of tables outside, where you can enjoy the busy street life in the heart of the city) and great to take away too.

A bar with a truly stunning view of Mount Vesuvius — that’s definitely the highlight. The drinks and aperitifs are fine, but nothing special. Prices are very high (up to €14 for a Spritz!), and the service felt a bit inattentive , though still okay overall. Worth it mostly for the view.

For me as an espresso enthusiast Naples is a paradise. In all the cafes I went to, there was only amazing coffee to taste. But the sweetest with that aromatic touch of chocolate flavor I found at Gran Caffè Cimmino just next to the beautiful Galeria Umberto. It was just so tasty. Very kind service too!

Menu arrived with no prices, when we asked the waiter was indifferent, another waitress came, she was vague with prices and what you food you got for your money. Anyway we persisted and food came, the salad was plentiful, the chicken scarce and the potatoes came well before main dish. The chicken burger was a patty no bun and the sides were a small spoonful of each. The bathroom was a concern both toilets blocked and staff were not interested in helping us sort the problem so we could use the facilities. This is not a tourist friendly restaurant despite being near lots of tourist attractions. Won’t visiting again

Bar Mexico, situated in Piazza Dante near the station, is a historic café in Naples renowned for serving traditional Parthenopean espresso. The coffee is always served hot and pre-sweetened, but patrons who prefer it unsweetened can request so. Interestingly, Bar Mexico was the first café in Naples to offer pineapple juice, which was considered exotic at the time. Despite its name, this café offers quintessential Italian brews and is particularly famous for its delightful Passalacqua coffee.

Love this small cute cafe! They are located very strategically in a great spot just above the San Via San Gregorio Armeno, next to the great tourist information center. They have got a nice selection of both snacks and cold & hot drinks, and more important than all - a welcoming, kind & fast service you won't find in many other Napoli places. It was so good that I just kept returning for drinks and food at least 2-4 times throughout the day during my Napoli visit. Complimenti, I recommend! 👍

Great place to find American style breakfast food in Naples. I got the scrambled eggs and bacon which were cooked to perfection. Caffè Salvo Dal 1955 is a charming spot located near the bustling shopping street of Via Scarlatti in Naples. It has gained local acclaim for serving some of the best cornetti in town, which are freshly baked in their own basement bakery, filling the air with an irresistible aroma each morning. The recommended Cornetto Crema-Amarena, filled with patisserie cream and sour cherry jam, is a must-try.
Cozy quick grab experience. I had a fluffy brioche sprinkled with sugar without any stuffing which was really nice I didn’t manage to take a picture As well as nice fresh pizza that was also fluffy and a Cappucino to go. You can enjoy it on one of the outside benches in the sun.

Best croissant (filled with custard) in Naples! Ideal when eaten hot out of the baker's oven (though be careful not to burn your mouth and tongue, as the custard can be fiercely and extremely hot). There are other types of sweet pastries if a croissant is not your favourite one (including brioches and the traditional "biscotto all'amarena"). Accompanied by a properly made cup of espresso... and you're all set and ready for your day in Naples!

Situated just around the corner from vomero neighbourhoods busiest shopping street (via scarlatti). Known to locals for having arguably the best cornetti in Town! most bars in Naples get their cornetti ready made from the same suppliers, but bar salvo bake their own fragrant delicacies in their basement bakery! in the morning you can smell the place from down the street. I recommend cornetto crema-amarena! (patisserie cream and sour cherry jam) excellent coffee and service as well. They don't bake all day so I suggest visiting in the early morning. Leopoldo Cafebar is a charming coffee shop in a lovely area. Their Neapolitan espresso is superb, and the pastries and cakes are delectable. The counter service is efficient, although they can get quite busy. Outside, there are ample tables where you can sit back, unwind, savor your espresso, and observe people passing by.
Great. It’s a franchise, you know what you get. This brand is spreaded all over Naples. It’s tasty, fresh, fast service. I went to the one very close to Amedeo square. Recommended

First time in Naples and this cafe was highly recommended for the gelato. The workers were very busy which is normal however they also ignored me and other members of my family while they took orders from customers BEHIND us. Extremely rude and unprofessional. The female staff member rolled her eyes at me when I said I'd been waiting before the other people. Ridiculous! The gelato was fine.

Great location. Nice interior/exterior. Complaisant, but tied and unhappy stuff. Difference in price between to go and in house (usually in other places price is the same the just extra service charge) makes cakes a bit overpriced. Zeppolino cake doesn’t tast good (not sure why maybe a bad recipe, old, or cheap ingredients etc.). Summarizing - better skip.

Bar Nilo is a unique coffee shop in Naples that pays homage to Maradona, featuring kitschy decor and a warm ambiance. (Translated by Google) Yesterday, during my stay in Naples with friends from England, we stopped at this bar for a coffee while waiting to enter the Museo del Cristo Velato. After looking at the price list, our English friends ordered two American coffees to drink at the counter. First of all, the lady with the bob was really rude in serving those who were not locals like us and especially our friends from England. We were not served water with our coffee, but then the local customers or probably regulars were served their coffee with a glass of water. Finally, the pearl of the bill! All the prices were written on a blackboard and the American coffee cost €1.80 including 10% VAT, but the pearl of the lady with the bob (a lady whose photo can also be found on Instagram; be careful of this lady who handles the cash register in a very suspicious manner) charges two American coffees plus another very suspicious VAT! So those who are not from Naples or who come from abroad pay two VATs? Crazy! Oh and to top it all off: the name of the bar is Svelato Caffè, but our friends' receipt says Lubrano caffè. I'll leave it to those who watch Striscia la Notizia to draw their own conclusions. Nestled on a charming street near the historic Santa Chiara complex, It's | caffè & bistrot offers a delightful escape from the traditional coffee scene in Naples. With its modern decor and spacious seating, it’s an inviting spot for those who prefer a contemporary vibe. The café boasts an impressive food menu that includes standout dishes like avocado toast, crafted with fresh ingredients and complemented by excellent pastries.
We got in quickly, only had to wait a few minutes, although others were also waiting to be seated. We got a seat inside, but they also have outdoor tables. The restaurant is cozy, the service is very kind and helpful. The entire staff was really nice to us. We had the Super avocado toast, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and a croissant. The food was very tasty and plentiful, with fresh ingredients, and the pistachio cappuccino is a must. Another positive is that there were vegetarian, vegan and plant-based options, too. I was especially happy about the oat milk option. If you're nearby and looking for a nice brunch, don't miss this place.

We got a table quickly (a few minutes). The pastry, avocado toast and coffee were good, but nothing special, felt like the price is a bit too high. Also, felt like the tables were very close to each other, kinda difficult to move around with very little space left. The interior, vibe and service were great.
Tudor P — Google review
Amazing café, My wife and I were looking for a place with a wider variety of breakfast options, and we found it here. The toasts were delicious, the coffee was high quality, and the service was excellent. If you’re in Naples, I highly recommend visiting this place at least once. We really enjoyed our breakfast. I even wanted to buy some whole bean coffee to take home to Mexico, but it was sold out. Amazing place!
Miguel A — Google review
convenient breakfast place and the food was ok. ambience is nice and relaxing. the nonno mousse is latte with pistachio and we also had the espresso. all good but nothing special. the breakfastella was crispy but it would be better to add some spread to make it less dry. we felt that the price is a bit high for the quality of the food.
Hans S — Google review
Really fast & friendly service. It feels like everyone wants to eat here for breakfast. But even when the aisle in front of the Cafe gets longer there is no hectic coming up and the atmosphere, combined with the nice music in the background, stays relaxed. Come here and enjoy. Amazing place to be!
Mi J — Google review
Very good coffee with delicious sweet pastries. We started almost every day at this place on our vacation. The coffee was very tasty, a very large variety of sweet pastries, also available breakfast sets such as sandwiches. In the morning there is a lot of traffic, usually a queue forms in front of the entrance and you have to wait for a free table. The interior is nice, pleasant, the service is also good.

Really nice place🤘🏻🤘🏻; very comfortable, very clean place and nice deco. The food tastes just as good as the place looks. We ordered full breakfast and was good portions and really nice flavours. Recommendation: if you like the taste of a strong expresso, this is the right place for you.
Santiago G — Google review
The breakfast here is incredible! The French toast was perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the avocado toast was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully topped with a perfectly cooked egg. Great coffee, cozy vibe, and friendly staff — easily one of the best breakfast spots around.

Caffè Vanvitelli in Napoli is a charming and welcoming café that offers a great experience to its visitors. The friendly staff, including the lovely waitress Nini, goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Customers have praised the great coffee and pastries served at this café. The staff's hospitality has left a lasting impression on many, with some even receiving thoughtful gifts as tokens of appreciation.
It was lovely! Great experience and I loved talking to the lovely waitress Nini. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Napoli. They welcomed me and gave me a gift to remember it! Incredible.

The blonde waitress is the worst i have ever met.She was rude and unprofessional. Her boss must learn her how to behave to clients. She can take as an example Guisy that she was perfect at her work in everything

The dishwasher was very rude to us, they shouldn’t allow tourist to be treated like that. It’s a shame. I do not recommend it.

We ordered two glases of red wine and paid 18 EUR. Do not recomend to visit this place, there are much better and cheaper ones nearby.. for example pizza Oliva - two red vines for 5 EUR. We had been scammed.

Bad service and rude stuff . They won’t let you use their WiFi and keep giving you wrong passwords . If you are a tourist to the coffee shop next to it vanity for better coffee and food and other stuff

If you're American and you end up in this place. Don't bother with this cafe. Staff was rude! Ordered coffee, acted as if they couldn't understand "Americano" in English. Insisted I remove my mask to order. There is a world full of amazing coffee and wonderful people, sadly this cafe is missing both.

House Café is a popular spot located on the bustling corner of Fifth Avenue, perfect for enjoying breakfast or lunch while observing the lively street scene from its sidewalk tables. The café offers an extensive menu with plenty of low-glycemic options and also has a connected juice bar called Delicious Raw. Visitors can indulge in a variety of delectable cakes and pastries alongside traditional Italian espresso and other coffee options.
A good place for a breakfast. Has a wide range of cakes and pastries. The owner is a lovely lady and very welcoming. I had the pistachio croissant with hot chocolate which I really liked :)
Varun L — Google review
Tourist trap. Advertised an American breakfast without a price ( I should have asked) and then charged me €14.50 for what amounted to some overcooked eggs on white toast without butter, a small toasted sandwich, black coffee and orange juice. That’s way too expensive for this quality of food and I’ve had much much better value elsewhere in Italy. Toilet “out of service”. The brioche was decent so they get a couple stars.
Roy M — Google review
Had the American Breakfast, (which it is not). Scrambled eggs(not too bad), ham and a gooey cheese panini, 2 pieces of redundant toast, watery jam, and something called cheese butter, (which was just more of the same gooey cheese), (and for the life of me, I do not understand the Italian obsession of refusing to serve up a little butter.) And all rang up separately for €17. Plus American Coffee and fresh (quite good) OJ.

A great place to stop from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is intimate seating. The cold coffee is great. The spoliatella is excellent.

We went because it's close to the apartment. The service was very friendly and multilingual. I ordered in a Italian, but my friend in English. The owner was friendly too. The only thing was no toilet paper in the bathroom.

Nice place to take a coffee or a cake in naples. I would recommend this place. The owners and waiters were very welcoming. They even gave us recommendations on what to visit in Naples. In this cafe, there is a great selection of cakes that are all impeccable (I tasted them all). The coffee was great too, there is the traditional Italian esspresso as well as other types of Italian coffees. You can also have beer. You can see below the picture of us with the owner of the cafe. Very good memories. See you soon. Greetings from Slovakia.

This was a cute little boutique cafe near where I’m staying. I popped in for a little American breakfast which consisted of, toast (sandwich), an omelette or scrabbled eggs, toast with jam or butter, orange juice (freshly squeezed and so delicious), and coffee-I opted for hot chocolate instead which was delicious. My total came out to be around £12 which I guess isn’t too terrible but given the serving sizes I think the cost could’ve been a little more reasonable.

Caffettiamo Bagnoli di Raffaele Simonte is a charming café located in the heart of Bagnoli. The café is known for its warm and friendly staff, offering an array of delectable croissants with various fillings such as chocolate, jam, and pistachio. In addition to their homemade cakes, they also provide a selection of milk options.
Hidden in the middle of the Bagnoli neighbourhood, this little caffè is run by splendid, super friendly people. They have a great selection of croissants and you can choose from various fillings, from chocolate to jam, pistacchio..., Home made cakes and various options of milks. We had two croissants each and two cappuccinos and one croissant to go! They also have another, bigger shop in Vomero. If you're in one of these neighbourhoods, there is no doubt this should be the place where you have your breakfast.

LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE GIOVANNI!! He is so open and loves to work hard and you can tell within the food and COFFEE!! Best coffee I have EVER had!! I wish I lived in Italy to go back there everyday. While staying in Naples, I found this place my first day off a long flight and I kept coming back each day after that since it was so delicious! He always greeted us with open arms and a big smile on his face. I don’t do these reviews often but, he deserves this praise ❤️

After touring Underground Naples, we needed a treat. We wandered into Caffe Tico and had a beautifully prepared coffee. The glass was rimmed with sugar, the coffee was rich and smooth. The owner, Giovanni Ferrante was delightful and made us feel almost like family. This special coffee treat was very reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting Giovanni!

Our first and most memorable stop in Napoli. The owners were so hospitable and friendly. They really engage with their customers. Got a limoncello and espresso. They were both really well made! The caffe has a lot of good energy and flow of people.
Moon K — Google review
I stopped by Caffè Tico on a tired afternoon after going to Pompeii and ordered Caffè carrecca and Sfogliatella. Especially, I ordered this coffee because it's the signature menu here, and it was delicious. Sugar, foam, and espresso in the cup gave a harmonious taste. Lemon-flavored water is suitable for controlling sweetness. The best thing here was the two baristas. As an Asian student studying in Europe, sadly, I have not a few experiences of being ignored when I visited European restaurants and cafes. So I didn't expect anything from this cafe at first, but they were so friendly as if I were an old regular customer. I feel like I'm home after a long time. I was very disappointed in this city during my stay in Naples, but thanks to this cafe and baristas, my impression of Naples was completely reversed. Naples is now a 'city I want to travel again', not a 'city I don't have to come anymore' for me.

Diego C — Google review
(Translated by Google) I'm sorry to have to leave such a low score because the desserts are really good but everything else about the management was really terrible and a sign of poor professionalism. I had ordered a black forest cake well in advance (assuming they knew the recipe which calls for cocoa sponge cake with whipped cream and black cherry filling), asking if it was made by the laboratory and I was told that it was possible by picking it up in the afternoon on the day of delivery (and that was fine with me, since I needed it for the evening). The cashier wrote down the order on a sheet of paper, I asked if a deposit was necessary and she told me no. I went at 6pm on the day of delivery to pick up and pay for the cake and the cashier told me that the cake wasn't ready "Because the pastry chef had forgotten to make it" (!!!) and asked me to come back an hour later. I came back at 7:15pm, luckily the cake was there. At which point the cashier says to me, "Good thing you came early. If you had come at closing time, you wouldn't have gotten the cake and you would have left with nothing." So, according to their way of working, they made a mistake, completely forgetting an order placed in advance, and what's more, they wouldn't have even limited the embarrassment they made by delaying closing time to fix the mistake. I give up, collect the cake and leave. Last but not least, when opening the cake with the guests, I realize that they made a completely different cake than the one I asked for: vanilla sponge cake, chocolate cream and covered with a chocolate forest puff pastry. They must have understood "Cake with chocolate forest" instead of "Black Forest" because I never want to think that they don't know the Black Forest recipe. Luckily, the cake was delicious and the guests were happy, which is why I'm giving the review an extra star. But it wasn't the cake I asked for. I am very sorry because the quality of the products is excellent but the management of everything else was terrible and would have deserved only one star. However, I give one star for the quality of the products and another for the extreme (and perhaps naive) honesty of the cashier, who at least told me the truth and did not make fun of me with improbable excuses. I hope that the management of orders can be improved, so that I can change my mind in the future and leave a 5-star review, as the quality of their products would deserve.
