The food was generous, rich in flavor and the patisserie crunchy and sweet, the waiters don’t really seem to enjoy their gig, but that’s pretty avg in Napoli (or Italy). In spite of that, the service is fast as almost everything just needs to be warmed up. Coffee is great and fresh OJ is a little ray of sunshine trough the overall experience.

They have on of the best pastries in Italy. But the service could be better and the place could be taken care better. We went there twice, one time for breakfast and other for an afternoon coffee. On both occasions the service was pretty average. The coffee nothing special, but the pastries. Perfection! The best of all was the sfogliatella, nice layers of perfect crust with a filling that wasn't too sweet. I recommend for a good pastry treat in Naples.

Centrally located, prime spot for people watching and beautiful building. This is by far one of the best espresso we had during our trip in Italy. So good that we went back 3 times in total during our visit in Naples. The pastries were great too.. as for the service as expected during high season. Fatigue, not very friendly.. probably sick of tourists like us and under staff given they didn't open a section of the restaurant and would rather have customers wait in the queue. Worth a visit.. just don't expect much from the service. Pastries and espresso.. definitely Yes! Absolutely love their menu, photos and descriptions. Perfect!!

Great spot for breakfast, we came here a couple of times. Fantastic people watching and great location to sit and enjoy your morning food. Coffee is good, pastries are fresh and delicious and the staff are brilliant. It is a touch on the pricey side for Naples but it is worth it. The selection of drinks is probably the most substantial of all the spots we went to in Naples. One thing I will say is I stopped off for a late afternoon Sfogliatella and unlike in the morning which was brilliant this time it had very obviously been sat for many hours and the filling had gone a bit past its best so I would recommend if you want the pastries go at breakfast when they have just been made as they are brilliant. I had the best pain au chocolat of my life here

We stopped by this café and it was such a delightful experience! The coffee was excellent, their pastries were fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is charming and elegant. The staff were very kind and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy authentic Italian coffee and dessert in a beautiful setting.

Gran Caffè Gambrinus is a place that leaves a lasting impression with just a single cup of coffee. I stopped by briefly for one espresso — the “strapazzato” — and that short moment completely redefined what coffee means to me. Though I spent no more than five minutes there, the depth, aroma, and intensity of that cup made time feel suspended. It wasn’t just about caffeine; it was about heritage, craftsmanship, and emotion in a cup. It’s rare to find a place where such a simple experience feels so profound. I know that even if I return years later, that brief memory — and the anticipation of tasting it again — will stay with me for a very long time.

An interesting place and very unusual because of the way you place your order. First, you go to the counter, order from the cashier and then you go to the bar or the pastry section. It can be very confusing for tourists because there are no signs explaining what to do or how it works. My recommendation is to first take a look at all the cake names and then go to the counter. All in all, the coffee is excellent and the cakes are unbelievably beautiful and delicious. Definitely a place you must visit!

Was there twice and would definitely come back there again and again. This is the best place to try traditional pastries and delicious coffee. First time I was taking take away and the way it was packed is just amazing. Thank you for recommendations and exceptional customer service💕

In a previous post, I mentioned that I let my son have gelato 🍨 without me in Napoli 🇮🇹. Of course there was a good reason for that. I was planning on having baba at Scaturchio! As you probably know, there is alcohol in baba, so my son couldn't have any. Baba is a Napoletan specialty. Well, it's also a French 🇫🇷 specialty and a Polish 🇵🇱 specialty. 😅 I read a lot about baba and its origin, and the most common theory is that it's a babka to which Stohrer (a pastry chef in Paris) added rhum to make it less dry for the French king. This was then brought to Napoli by the French and this is where it became popular. Of course I was not there at the time and everybody has a different version of this story. So don't get mad at me if yours differs, that's just the one that makes the most sense in MY opinion. 😇 I like baba a lot for 2 reasons: 1) I don't eat it often 2) it was one of my grand-mother's 🥰 favorites. That said, I think it's very hard to achieve a good baba. You need to find a good balance between sweet and alcohol in the syrup and you need to make sure the dough is moist enough so the syrup travels properly through it, but not too much so it doesn't fall apart. I think this one was close to perfect, if not perfect. 👍 The tart my wife had was not good, though, unfortunately. 👎 Plus it came broken and it was crazy expensive (€6 as opposed to €3.5 for the baba 😳). The total price was quite high, €15 for 2 coffees and 2 pastries, but we sat at a terrace in the middle of the tourist area so that was to be expected. 🤷 The service was kind of slow but correct. Now I need to go back there to try all the other types of baba cause that was just the classic one and they have lots of fancy ones! 😋 Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: 7/10 How I felt afterwards: 7/10

We took few different cakes and all tasted very nicely, they were not too sweet, coffee was very good as well. Definitely nice place with climate. Re different cakes it was all explained on the piece of paper with pictures so there was no confusion when ordering them.

It's good, but the prices are too high, let alone for Southern Italy. It felt like a tourist trap to be honest, since there are much better places where you can spend literally less than half. The pastiera was good (but 6 EUR for a slice seems WAY too much), and the frittatina di pasta too (4 EUR). The thing is that none of them blew my mind, they were good but quite standard. There are much better places in more hidden streets such as Pasticceria Pascal. I would recommend it if you're visiting Napoli for the first time, since you must have a breakfast at Scartuchio... But probably wouldn't come here if you're looking for an authentic place where local people go.

Tried to find a place to grab some sweets for us to save for breakfast the next day for an early flight. This was one of the only ones open with options left in the case. We grabbed the caprese cake and the lemon option as well, Sfogliatella, and frolla…. The cakes were to die for!!! So moist even the next day. Definitely recommend stopping in here for your sweet tooth! They even wrapped everything up to-go very nicely

Napoli one of the oldest and best reputed pastry shop since 1905. We have two sfogliatela and two napolitana. They are massive big so one and one to share are enough. Delicate pasta outside and inside is fill with a creamy texture similar to crema pastelera. Really nice both. If you need a punch of energy it’s a great options. The accept credit card as some of the smaller shop don’t. The picture is not completely accurate as i remember token when we eat most of the pastries.

Two days in a row I ordered sandwiches from here. I’m an American visiting this beautiful country and wanting to enjoy their culture and food. On both occasions I was given the wrong sandwich, and on the second belittled by the large Italian man behind the deli counter… The first time, we ordered a prosciutto and salami sandwich that was positioned in view of the deli. Our ticket was sent to the back of the deli, versus grabbing one of the sandwiches from view. As we walked down the boardwalk away from Chalet Ciro and finally opened our sandwich, we found ham wrapped in a hotdog with some cheese. We chalked it up to language barriers. The second time, I pointed at the sandwich specifically and ordered from the checkout to be sure not to misunderstand. Instead of prosciutto and ham, I received a tuna sandwich. While it was good. It was not what I ordered… I’m respectful when I travel, and while not fluent, speak to the best of my ability to show appreciation. This man was rude, and clearly gave me the wrong food both times while shouting out “Miami Beach” while grabbing and handing me my sandwich. I don’t live anywhere near Miami, but he’s obviously generated his own opinions from his position behind the counter…So unprofessional and off putting… shame on you… The food was amazing, if you can handle the belittlement of the older and larger man behind the counter stop here. If not, keep walking.

I think this is one of the (must-visit) points of attraction in Napoli…. Great coffee - Delicious ice cream - Amazing view of the sea - Traditional Italian dress of waiters takes you in a time journey to the 50s … Wonderful atmosphere …. Definitely I would love to go visit again

What an amazing place! Fried sweet food to die for!!

Extremely Disappointing — Don’t Waste Your Time We came here based on all the glowing reviews, but honestly, this place is nothing special. Most of the products clearly aren’t handmade by the owner, they look mass-produced and identical to what you’ll find at every other nearby stall, right down to the packaging. Sure, they fry some doughnuts... but that’s hardly unique or impressive. The gelato? Laughable, we were given two of the tiniest scoops imaginable. The tiramisu was bland and flavourless, and the rum baba was so dry it was inedible. We made a long journey out of our way to visit, and left hugely disappointed. Apart from being in a good location, everything else is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. As for customer service, don’t expect any. Staff were indifferent and unwelcoming. Overall, poor service, mediocre food, and factory-made products with boutique prices. Avoid.

Very good ice cream, creamy and well made. A medium is €3.8, so very well priced for the quality. The only reason it does not have full stars is because I like my chocolate flavor to be even deeper and stronger. It is very well located because it's perfect to get ice cream and walk around the bay.

When they a tourist they increase the price and charge for coperto for a cup of coffee, Oddio ! They charge for one espresso 3.5 € and small cappuccino 4€, it’s super high prices for Napoli, that’s because we are tourists and they can scam us !

This bakery is close to our Airbnb, we came here grab our morning coffee and breakfast. There are many different types of pastries, some traditional Naples style, some regular ones. The staff is here nice and helpful, though they don’t speak much English, they were being very patient and helpful. There some little high tables if you decide to eat in.

I can't recommend this bakery enough. It was close to our accommodation and we decided to give it a go. I can confirm the best cornetto I've ever tried in my life (and I've travelled across Italy a lot). It was full of chocolate (real chocolate praline) and they offer savoury options too. It's a must if you are in the area!

A magical place for every sweet tooth! 😌 The staff was really nice and helpful, and they even explained everything to me about every cookie that caught my eye. And finally they wrapped my sweets in a package, tied with a bow. It was literally an experience and it made my day. PS: everything you see in the picture cost only 5€

The staff was extremely friendly, and everything we tried was fantastic. We even came back twice in one day because we were so eager to try their ice cream! The prices were quite fair too. I ordered a sfogliatella al cioccolato and my friends ordered various sfogliatellas and other desserts. They were so delicious, and it wasn’t that expensive. I want to visit again when I go back to Napoli.

I had a Sfogliatella (d'asporto). It cost 2€ which is a very normal price, the taste was great and it was still warm. The staff was also very friendly and accompdating. 10/10 would recommend!

We came for an after lunch treat and espresso. Enjoyed a sfogliatella and Cafe del Nonno at their bar. Was quick, fun and delicious! The sfogliatelle was not warm and already opened in the middle but still shatteringly crisp and had a delicious orange flavor in the ricotta

We took take-away coffee because we had to go to a pizza making course. Normal coffee. Courteous staff, very fast service and normal price.

It’s super located for a after opera drink ( needed to flex that I been cultural sorry). They had a really interesting looking cocktail on the menu. It’s called their ‘special’ or something. I can tell you: it’s strong! Definitely have one of you like to go and enjoy the night after. Great drink but pushy waiter that gave the bill with the drinks and adding “AND my tip”. Totally rude and really doesn’t do your business any good. Would have come back every evening if we didn’t have to get to hear when getting our drink. The strength of the drink made me forget about it though.

Attention! Tourist trap! I don't understand why they charge different prices for takeaway and on-site food. We were seated, all items were at least one euro more expensive. The coffee was good, but otherwise we were dissatisfied. The gentleman gave us the bill and then quickly took it without even letting us check it properly! The bill was definitely not well made!

Definitely NOT recommended! Very unfriendly service and comparatively expensive. We had two coffees. Suddenly, we were prompted to pay by the bill being placed on the table. The waiter then wouldn't leave and stood closely behind me. We had the exact change, but they refused to accept our bill (a 5 Euro note from an older series (obviously still valid)). Following this, the waiter raised his voice and initially didn't want to let us leave. Not a nice experience.

Do not come to this place. They charged us 8 euro for two coffees (espresso and latte on the terrace). They were surprised when we told them that we do not have cash and were super unfriendly because of that, one of the waiters literally threw the receipt at me 🥶

Very disappointed with these stale and pricey mini cannolis. 2 EUR per cannoli and there was hardly any filling and the shell was stale like it is days old. I went to Gambrinus right after and their mini cannoli (more tasty and fresh shell at a premium establishment) was 1.50 EUR and the delicious Sicilian cannolis at Dolcezze Siciliane were even less expensive at less than a euro. I don't mind paying more for a delicious treat, but this wasn't worth it at all. Yuck!

Lovely cafe, outdoor covered tables, cappuccino a bit strong for my taste but lovely coffee. A nice variety of pastries. Prices reasonable and staff friendly and helpful. Came back again a few days later for more pastries and mango smoothies. Yum Yum.

Absolutely incredible sfogliatella! We stopped by Cori di Sfogliatelle near Piazza Garibaldi by the train station and were blown away. We tried the pistachio, baci, and chocolate — all were fresh, rich, and bursting with flavor. The texture was perfect, crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Honestly, the best sfogliatelle we've ever had. A must-visit if you're in Naples!

We didn't dine at this specific venue, but did grab breakfast and snacks at the branches in the Terminus station and Garibaldi square. The Sfogliatella are devine and we enjoyed the coffees. The staff in the Terminus station were very friendly.

The shop is in a great spot and right by the terminal. Visually, it’s very appealing. Clean, modern, and well-presented, it draws you in right away. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the setting. Staff were noticeably slow to serve, even though the shop wasn’t particularly busy at the time. It made the experience feel a bit frustrating, especially if you're short on time before a train or flight. As for the pastries: decent, but unremarkable. They looked good in the display but didn’t offer much in terms of flavor or freshness. Not bad, just not memorable. A convenient stop thanks to its location, but don’t expect much beyond that.

It was totally disaster. This place is %100 tourist trap. We ate 3 deserts 2 espresso 1 orange juice. 27 euros.. 😱.. They were extremely sweet. We could not finish creamy baba.. In the toilet there was no soup the door was broken there was no hand dryer or paper..It was like an ancient roman style..

Great selection of sweet and savory sfogliatella! A bit pricey and usually crowded, but the fast turnover means pastries come out fresh from the oven all the time. Perfect for a sweet treat or light breakfast by the train station. Coffee is excellent too!

Delicious experience, can get crowded though. We had a very nice selection of dishes and thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited in the morning and most of the items were freshly made. The pista and classic Baba were simply amazing. They also have a washroom to use.

Great place for breakfasts. English speaking staff, welcoming to foreigners. Coffee was good but a bit strong, depends how you like it I guess. We received two small almond cookies with it, they tasted amazingly. The sfogliatta was great, loved it. Mini-margerita was fine, but nothing special - needs a bit more sauce or moisture. We received lemon water for free, it was a nice addition.

Great coffee. The barista very good at what he does. There are several drink options not just coffee. The sidewalk seating is quite nice. The price is not bad given it’s a busy tourist area.

One issue is that (like most caffes in Napoli) the price at the counter is different than the price at a table, but they don't really inform you that before you pay. Had a chance to have a late breakfast here after I came across it on tripadvisor and it’s definitely recommended! Ordered a marmalade croissant, hazelnut latte and ofcourse, cafe! All were great and service was on point. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite, definitely stop by.

What a gem. Very lucky to find this lovely place, while walking the centre of Naples. The coffees are the best ones around, a lovely touch to serve it accompanied by glass of sparkling water and pice of lemon. We were also served with small tasty marzipan treats. Excellent service and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Stopped here for a drink. Wished we hadn’t. Service was terrible, one waiter insisted on climbing over my legs and bag each time to reach a table next to me even though there was a better route. I asked him politely not to go that way but he ignored my request. After that I made an obstruction making it impossible for him to go “my way” and he was clearly unhappy with what I had done. So rude of him. The non alcoholic drink was nice and I was impressed by the snacks that they served. Pity about the low service level. Prices were too high in my opinion. I don’t recommend

When looking for restaurant options with eggs, specially for breakfast, this place came up in our search and we were very happy with it. They have a fairly wide selection of food and there are decent options to choose from for a hearty breakfast. The coffee was great and the meal was tasty. We just found the bacon too salty.

Very beautiful cafe to go for either an aperitivo with your friends or even to work with your laptop. Sometimes the music is too high so make sure you wear headphones if you go there for working reasons. The menu is very impressive ( you can even get waffles or brunch American style). The outside space can fit many people with about 20 tables. On top of that the location is great as it is located in the heart of vomero shopping district which is pedestrian as well. Definitely recommended 👌

A central place, beautiful location. However the service was very slow. The number of waiters was low compared to the customers.

Variety of pastries , coffee drinks are unmatched so far. Service personnel could be friendlier and pay more attention to guests. However, this opinion comes from US consumer. In Europe service is not to our standards. Everything was delicious. Apparently they have many locations throughout Napoli.

I liked the way it looked and decided to get some rest and get a tea. The staff was kind and helpful. Had variety of sweets of course and tea flavours. The yound man who took my order was kind enough to let me know that the charge os higher if you sit compared to take away, i knew that is a thing in Italy but i appreciated him informeling me! Prices were reasonable, i paid 9€ for both tea and a tiramisu. I find the price of tiramisu a bit high compared to the size/ portion, but it was super fresh and full of amazing flavour!

We had tiramisu for dessert. The taste was not that great with loads of fluffy cream - far from a home made tiramisu. The service was poor - long wait to pay. And they use a lot of single use plastic- they can go green.

We had 2 gelato cones with 2 flavors each, which really soothed and cooled us down in the heat. They were delicious and at least the second best during our visit in Naples (only for 3,5€ each). As seems customary here, you first pay for the choice of either a cup or a cone and how many flavors you want. Then you choose in the next counter. Both interactions with the staff were of the nature annoyance and indifference. In the otherwise lively and delightful walk down Via Benedetto Croce it leaves sour taste (figuratively speaking).

I enjoyed what I got. It was a tasty lemon bread pastry with cream inside and out. The service wasn’t great only because of one lady. The lady was clearly fed up with being there. She was wrapping our items with her back to us and slapped on the sticker, missing 3 times because of how angrily she tried putting it on. Besides that the place is good lol.

Had a quick stop at Leopoldo Café Bar and tried their pistachio cannoli along with an iced latte.The cannoli was fresh with a rich pistachio filling that wasn’t overly sweet, and the latte was smooth and refreshing. Cozy spot for a mid-day treat.

Im unsure why this place has only 3.9 stars because the Baba was spectacular and the sarchiapone (icy frappy sparkling lemonade) that the server recommended was perfect for the humid summer. This place is the gel of Napoli. I was getting tired of the small tight roads of endless shops of Napoli- and no matter how much i rested in cafes nothing gave me energy. The great service, the cool air from the air con, delicious baba and the sparkling lemonade made my day.

This was the breakfast spot provided by our hotel, Mirabilis Relais. We made it a habit to visit regularly in the morning. Due to its limited space, the place was often crowded. The menu featured a wide selection of sweets, including pastries, croissants, and various desserts, along with coffee and fresh juices. However, savory options were scarce—sandwiches were nowhere to be found, and taralli was the only non-sweet item available.

A nice pastry and gelato place. Pistachio gelato was a bit salty and good, the tiramisu quite tasteless. The service was fairly tired of tourists like me - “just take your cone and leave us alone” kind of. Supporting Gaza in the entrance added a political pinch to the culinary experience

This was my happy place in Naples. I drank my coffee there every morning and ate a baba with vanilla cream and wild berries, which was to die for. I still remember it every time I think of Naples. I recommend this place with all my heart. They are the best!

Good coffee bar with good solid pastries. A good alternative if you can't get to a better pastry shop. Their best is the nut covered hazelnut praline cream on a pastry dough. A lighter version of the Paris Brest.

Do NOT go here if you want to eat tasty neapolitan pastries. We couldn’t even eat a piece of it, it was definitely old, didn’t smell good and a waiter brought it with hair on it. Capuchino is overpriced and the atmosphere is not nice at all

Dessert heaven! They have beautifully decorated cakes and a lot of pastry options. There are large or normal sized pastries as well as miniature pastries. We didn't notice the mini ones until after we bought the large ones. They have mini pastries that they sell by the kilo which I would have loved to get for friends and family if I had space in my luggage. Everything in the shop including tables and chairs were in black and pink.. lovely shop.. service was decent . Have had better service

Very very poor service. Waited 45 minutes for 1 coffee and 1 croissant. The waiter came 6times to our table and didnt even take the order. Not a place where should go...

This is a stand serving 100% vegan sweet pastries. There are only 2 seats on the curb. It's worth a visit. We had a local rum soaked pastry, baba, which was exquisite. We also had chocolate covered pistachio cake & hazelnut cake, and a fruity cream cake. All of them were done to a high standard. Also had one of the best coffees in Naples here.

Worthy of a visit. I went here just for the dessert and I was not disappointed. The fruit tart was just divine and had a party in my mouth. I did try the pear and pistachio flavored dessert and I wasn’t a fan of that one. The brownie was also good. I was elated just to see a vegan spot with great dessert options. Amazing!! We went there for lunch and returned the next day because we loved it so much! The Vegan Bab and Mac Vegan were our favorites, so good! The Panino Bomb was also very nice. I recommend ordering a juice with it, it is a surprise what you get. The first time we got a sweet citrus juice and the second time watermelon-orange. The cheesecake was hands down the best cheesecake ever! A very cute place with amazing homemade pastries and food, and a sweet and talented chef! Very fair prices as well. Definitely recommend!

Delicious vegan bakery! We went during Easter holiday and they only had typical Easter sweets, but we were happy to try them in the vegan version, otherwise we would have never tried them! The babà was delicious, and so the cookies. Perfect for a yummy vegan breakfast (they have a couple of tables outside, where you can enjoy the busy street life in the heart of the city) and great to take away too.

The food was delicious I ordered a Panino 58, the gelato special of the day, and a banana shake. The food was delicious along with the view.

A bar with a truly stunning view of Mount Vesuvius — that’s definitely the highlight. The drinks and aperitifs are fine, but nothing special. Prices are very high (up to €14 for a Spritz!), and the service felt a bit inattentive , though still okay overall. Worth it mostly for the view.

This was a cute little boutique cafe near where I’m staying. I popped in for a little American breakfast which consisted of, toast (sandwich), an omelette or scrabbled eggs, toast with jam or butter, orange juice (freshly squeezed and so delicious), and coffee-I opted for hot chocolate instead which was delicious. My total came out to be around £12 which I guess isn’t too terrible but given the serving sizes I think the cost could’ve been a little more reasonable.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cafe latte was delicious as we're the croissants. They even gave us a little gift of small tarts that were very tasty. A great experience and a short walk from the cruise port.
