L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele, a historic pizzeria in Napoli, has been serving what many consider the best pizza in the city for over 150 years. It gained international fame after being featured in 'Eat Pray Love,' attracting both locals and tourists. The pizzeria offers only two types of pizzas - margherita and marinara - making it a vegetarian-friendly spot.
Absolutely worth the wait — even if it’s a long one! My tip: go around 12 PM, when the line is shorter — we were seated inside within 10 minutes. The interior is spacious and keeps an authentic, slightly old-school charm that adds to the local feel. And the pizza was incredible. The tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, the mozzarella was perfect, but the highlight was the beautifully leopard-spotted dough — soft, chewy, and full of character. The portion size was huge (even larger than the plate!), and for the price, it’s an amazing deal. The inside is also pleasantly cool — a huge plus on a hot Neapolitan day — though it does make the mozzarella firm up a little faster. One thing I missed was a house wine option; it would’ve complemented the meal perfectly. Bottom line: a must-try spot in Naples.

It was great visiting here. Loved the pizza. People were nice. No rushing to clear the table at the time when we went. Had a Margherita pizza, which was absolutely delicious. I was so hooked on to the taste, that I found out that they have an operational branch in Amsterdam as well and I visited them yesterday. It was the same taste and I loved it.
Ayush A — Google review
Very good pizza and very good flavour! It is and will be a long wait. You will wait an hour so I recommend getting a table because why not - the queue is the same! The pizza was very good, it did take a while so it came out a little colder than expected. But the leoparding was good, the flavour of everything in that pizza was incredible. The dough, the sauce, the cheese and everything. Unbelievably good. There are not many types of pizza but you do not need many flavours of that pizza. It was worth getting any!
Andrei C — Google review
After almost one hour of waiting we managed to get inside as a group of 7 people. The system is a bit confusing and we got there on the time when they were letting all the people out, cleaning the tables and only after letting all the people who are waiting in. We got there around 15:30. It’s not the ideal time. If you are very hungry you have to consider the waiting. There is a separate queue for the take away pizza. It’s a bit difficult to talk with the staff managing the queue. When you want to eat inside you have to ask for the number and tell the number of people dining in. The wait inside for the pizza wasn’t long at all considering that we were taking 5 pizzas. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Pizza was very good but not sure if it was great ale worth this wait. We just went there as the place is famous. In general we were happy about this experience. The price was great too, very cheap for this famous place.
Marta P — Google review
I was brought to try this pizza place by a local. In general we didn’t have to wait too long to be seated, approximately 10 minutes. We were there for lunch around 14:00, but from what I’ve heard the queue can get quite long in the late evening. The service was a bit questionable, they weren’t very friendly, which might be caused by the very chaotic environment. The price of the pizza is exceptional. You can rarely find a place that serves delicious pizza for only 6 euro. The taste as well was superb. I would gladly go back.
Stiliyan S — Google review
Fantastic experience! The pizza is incredibly delicious! Definitely the best pizza I’ve had in my life! My recommendation: don’t wait for a table inside. Instead, join the takeaway line and eat at the standing tables across the street — trust me, the experience is much better. This pizzeria truly deserves its Michelin stars🤯😍🔥
Gio — Google review
one of the most famous pizzerias in the world. they have multiple rooms across the street to accommodate the huge amount of people that come by. takeaway worked very quickly for me. i only waited 10min. the pizza was incredible and it was very affordable. not overrated and definitely worth the hype
Vic P — Google review
I saw the video from IG and expected to be super crowded because if the reviews. We came on a Wednesday 6:30pm and there was zero line. Literally shocked. I'm glad we came during dinner instead of lunch! The pizza was huge but so soft, chewy and light. I love it. Super flavorful. Highly recommend! Quite different from other pizza place. It's light and so thin. A must go. We paid 8 euro for dine in.

Mimì alla Ferrovia is a renowned Neapolitan restaurant that has been a favorite among locals and celebrities since 1943. Decorated with photos of famous diners, this veteran establishment offers traditional Neapolitan dishes in a comfortable and elegant setting. The well-traveled young chef Salvatore Giugliano has added modern touches to the classic menu, introducing well-judged ethnic elements and hints of modernity to dishes like pasta with mussels.
A fantastic lucky random find! Our family of 9 had a great lunch here. The dining environment was clean and comfortable, the service friendly and courteous, and the food was delicious. A great experience overall!
Felix H — Google review
What an experience! I had heard about Mimi for many years from my family and our dinner earlier this year did not disappoint. There were a mix of young and old patrons, all having a great time. The food was absolutely delicious, the service on point and the suggested wine pairings were well balanced. Highly recommend when a visit when you’re in Napoli.

Was recommended this place from a cab driver and it did not disappoint. Great food. Great service. Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly. We got there a bit early and my mom walks with a cane. When we came back a few minutes later and the place was filling in, the gentleman who I presume is the owner has saved the spot by the door for my mom. Best food I had in Naples. Will visit again next time I am in town
William F — Google review
Amazing experience. Everything was great from the food, to the drinks and the service. Bao buns were a great starter and the tiramisu was top tier. Highly recommend if anyone is in the area.
Jacob Y — Google review
Great classic Neapolitan food. Attentive and friendly service. Food served very efficiently. Walk-ins only for groups of 2 so its recommended to reach for opening time as the room filled up very quickly.
M L — Google review
Average to say the least, we waited over an hour to get a table, the glasses for our water were hot and wet straight from the dishwasher, the pasta i had was like the one i was served in school in the 80’s, my friends had cannelloni and left half of it, had to wait ages to pay the bill. Not reccommended, i’m Italian and it is my first day in Naples, i am baffled at the great reviews vs the reality of this place. Don’t waste your time. Oh, and a 15% service charge is automatically added to your bill. Service is not good either.
Loredana B — Google review
Great way to start your Napoli food journey. The food is simple but really tasty. Love the food. Great atmosphere. Lots of people so come early.
Jeff N — Google review
We had lunch at Mimì alla Ferrovia and the food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant was very busy, so it’s definitely worth booking in advance (we reserved two days before and there was still a line outside). Service was friendly, but our dishes didn’t all arrive at the same time since we were a group of eight. Overall, a great experience with authentic food and lively atmosphere

Osteria Della Mattonella is a charming Neapolitan tavern with a cozy setting, featuring closely arranged tables and traditional decor such as original floors, wooden beams, and antique Vietri-style tiles. Managed by Massimo Marangio, the restaurant offers authentic home-cooked dishes overseen by Mrs.
We went to this traditional restaurant in Naples and had some of the best pasta we’ve ever eaten in Italy! I had gnocchi with tomato sauce and cheese – simple and so flavorful. My husband had spaghetti with octopus, olives, and capers – also amazing. The pasta was high quality, perfectly cooked al dente, just how it should be. Great food, great vibe – nothing more to say, just go and enjoy! Ciao!
Becky B — Google review
Such a cozy place. Reservations are required. They were nice enough to make room for us although we didn't have one. Highly recommend as it's also a little hidden and not in the busy loud area.
Maltina — Google review
We stayed here for dinner. The place is fully booked so you should make a reservation in advance. Fortunately we still got a free spot the same day a couple of hours later. The food was amazing, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the octopus was really soft inside, and the ragu was probably the best I've ever had. The service is also excellent, our order was taken fast and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The prices are very reasonable. The interior looks good and only has around five tables so it's a really calm setting. If you visit Napoli you should definitely try this place.
Rok C — Google review
A True Hidden Gem in Naples Mattonella is one of those places that remind you why eating in Naples is such a joy. Tucked away from the main tourist paths, this is a genuinely authentic spot where locals come for honest, perfectly cooked Neapolitan food. The polpo (octopus) was exceptional — tender, flavorful, and simply dressed to let the freshness shine through. The melanzane alla parmigiana was comfort on a plate: rich, delicate layers with that perfect balance of tomato, mozzarella, and eggplant that only true home-style cooking can achieve. And the pasta — absolutely spot on, cooked al dente with bold, traditional flavors that speak of real Neapolitan soul. No frills, no gimmicks — just excellent food, warm service, and a sense that you’re eating in a piece of Naples’ culinary history. A must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the city like a local, not a tourist trap.
Mirjana M — Google review
As someone originally from Naples, I’ve been to many osterie over the years, but Osteria della Mattonella stands out as a true classic. This time, my wife (from DC) and I were in town with two friends visiting Naples for the first time. I wanted them to experience a real, traditional Neapolitan meal—and this place delivered perfectly. We started with a fresh buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad, paired with marinated aubergines—simple but full of flavour and character. For our pastas, we shared the ragù napoletano and pasta alla puttanesca. The ragù was rich and deeply comforting, cooked exactly the way it should be, and the pasta itself was al dente perfection. For our mains, we shared meatballs and friarielli (Neapolitan broccoli rabe)—a classic combination that brought everyone to the table smiling. Everything was paired with a bottle of Valpolicella, which complemented the meal beautifully. The atmosphere was intimate, charming, and full of soul. You feel like you're stepping into someone’s home, where everything is made with love and tradition. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. This is the kind of place that reminds you why Neapolitan cuisine is so special. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic experience. Make sure to book in advance very busy here, and we were lucky to get in
Giovanni V — Google review
Fantastic place, family atmosphere, delicious food and great service, only superlatives are enough for this place, don't miss it when visiting Naples! You need to make a reservation, place is very small, but that is part of the experience!
Andreas M — Google review
It was just a perfect experience. Traditional Neapolitan restaurant with amazing dishes. Super delicious!
Ortal S — Google review
Naples has become really touristic and it's hard find places that have not become tourist traps. I would say that this is not exactly an exception since it's packed with tourists, but at least they keep the quality of the food high and the prices low, which is pretty much all that matters. We had gnocchi alla sorrentina (9 EUR) and pasta alla genovese (8 EUR). Both dishes were really good. Pasta super aldente, as it should be, and a good amount of meat in the genovese too. The coperto is 2 EUR per person which is a bit high, but at least you get some nice bread. The coffee was amazing, and of course served in a glass cup as the Napoletan law states. The staff was not very friendly, but not rude either. Just doing their job, which is fine. This osteria is really good and they have all the traditional dishes that you may want to try while visiting Naples. Definitely a good option when looking for traditional cuisine for good prices.

Umberto is a long-standing trattoria in the Chiaia neighborhood of Naples, run by the Di Porzio family since 1916. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and a robust Italian wine list. The rooms are decorated with vintage photos and contemporary art pieces. The menu features a variety of dishes, including wood-fired pizzas, seasonal options, and Neapolitan specialties such as Controne bean soup and miniature potato gatto.
The best meal in our 10-day trip in italy. Every dishes are perfectly cooked. Napoli pizza is super delicious. The staff is very friendly making our family feel at ease with his humor and hospitality. Highly recommend

Excellent restaurant in Naples we were very pleased, especially for the fish of the day which was succulent! Cooked to perfection. The other fish in the menu with some crumbs was also delicious, and a special mention for the grilled zucchini’s which have some lemon and were the best we’ve had in Naples by far! Good waiters, restaurant started getting busy towards 8.30/9pm. Decent prices. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our recent meal here so much that we came back a second time! The restaurant was cosy and inviting, the staff made us feel at home right away. Their simple menu features many local specialties and every one that we tried was delicious. I also appreciated how many dishes could be prepared gluten free. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for elegant, regional Italian cuisine.

They managed to squeeze us in for a quick lunch during our family holiday to Italy. Restaurant is in a lovely spot in a nice part of the city, fairly easy to find. The food was really good. We had simple pizza and pasta dishes, but some of the other things being carried past smelt absolutely delicious, too. The pizza was some of the best we had in Italy - you know it's good when the kids enjoy eating the crusts as much as the toppings. The gluten free pizza was also delicious. Staff were very friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere - slightly more formal than other places we visited, but still very relaxed. Would love to go back if we visit Naples again.

We went to Umberto’s upon a friend’s recommendation and we had such a lovely evening. This family restaurant (3rd generation if I’m not mistaken) is proposing classic Napoli’s cuisine with family recipes on the menu. It’s the best food we’ve had in Italy so far: tasty, fresh, delicious! Massimo was very attentive to all guests and did help us select some dishes for the special occasion. The staff was super nice, present yet discreet throughout the diner. I highly recommend and we will return next time we are in Naples.
Sandrine J — Google review
We had a starter each (baby octopus with tomato sauce and italian fried snacks) and a main course (stuffed squid and 3 small pizzas), plus drinks Food was good, service quick! Stuffed squid was really tasty! Tender meat and the inside had an interesting sweet (raisin) and sour taste (olives and other stuff)...the 3 small pizzas were a surprise because we certainly didnt expect pizza to look like that..or maybe it is just my bad Italian..anyway, food is good I was mostly impressed by the age of this place and the building itself: walls are very thick :)
Svetlana B — Google review
The service we received was excellent. No denying it. We ordered a pizza to start and it was excellent as well. We both ordered the Genovese pasta and were not blown away by it. It was good but not great. Probably because up to this point, we had had pasta dishes that blew our minds away!
Michell P — Google review
We stumbled upon Umberto’s by chance… and it turned out to be the best dining experience of our entire trip to Naples. 🍝✨ Every bite was a delight, the staff was impeccable, and the atmosphere simply charming. It didn’t take long for us to realize this is one of those places the locals treasure… and now, so do we. 💛🇮🇹

Pizza Takeout
Gino e Toto Sorbillo is a renowned pizzeria located in the heart of Naples. Established by a family with a long tradition of pizza-making, it has gained cult status among locals and visitors alike. The pizzeria's massive wood-fired oven produces thick-crust pizzas that meet all the criteria for an ideal Neapolitan pizza. Made from premium organic Campanian ingredients, their pizzas are highly sought after, often resulting in long queues.
We luvluckuvvvvvvvv this place- just as anazing as it was 3 years ago- take their local Prosecco, it's fabulos! We've tried their Margherita, Diabola and Tuna and onion- all impeccable, sunshine and stars bursting in your mouth! The atmosphere is something else- you can see people of different wlages and paths of life- happy with their food. The place ALWAYS has a line, but it moves fast and is TOTALLYYYYT worth the visit. Thank you for being consistent in the quality of food and service you provide throughout the years! The waiting staff- amazingly amiable, helpful and supernice. They make this place SPECIAL, we'll be back! 🤍
Ani B — Google review
Honest review here. We really wanted and expected to be overwhelmed-but we weren't. I've been in Naples studying Italian and we saved Sorbillo for our last week. We arrived early at 5:30 pm on a Thursday and were seated immediately; however, we waited for 15 minutes for our server- he was particularly gruff until I spoke in Italian. The restaurant was not full at all. He was quite attentive afterwards. The house craft beer was good and I liked that it was served in large wine glasses, a bit of class. The prices are very reasonable and it is clear that they use quality ingredients -but, regardless, the pizzas were not sunshine or stars bursting in your mouth as so many reviews seem to suggest. Did we have high expectations, probably based on the reviews -could it have been an off night- maybe. I think the experience is one that many will seek because of the hype. I just wanted to throw out the possibility that it might just be hype. I don't think it would have been worth a long wait for a table.
Leila H — Google review
I now get the hype and honestly it‘s well deserved. The pizzas were delicious and I can say it‘s one of the best in Naples. If you had to prioritize only one Pizza restaurant to go, this is IT! Fried Pizza is definitely one of their specialties but all their other pizzas are also amazing. No misses.
Erika U — Google review
After arriving we gave our names to the lady at the door and they called us in less than 10 minutes. The restaurant was not overly crowded or noisy. The pizza was exceptionally tasty. But I’m yet to try my second one so I can give a better opinion 😅 the prices were also surprisingly good for such a famous and central place. The service could’ve been a bit more friendly to match the high quality of the food but I guess nothing is ever perfect. Overall, an excellent restaurant that I’ll be visiting again.
Stiliyan S — Google review
We had a great experience and we strongly recommend for having an great and traditional pizza napolitana. The staff was also very friendly and spoke in English. The pizzas came very fast even with the local on full capacity. The beer was colder than the average in Napoli!
Lucas G — Google review
Sorbillo- Gino e Toto was amazing! Waited about 15/20 minutes, but it was totally worth it. The food came out fast, the staff was super friendly, and their recommendations were spot on. Two pizzas ended up being way more filling than expected!
T R — Google review
This restaurant specialize in pizza and will have to rate this is the best pizza in Naples. We were in Naples for 6 days and each day we've tried a different restaurant and came back to Sorbillo a second time on our last night. We experienced 5 restaurants within those 6 days. The service and servers were excellent and friendly. The pizza we ordered were the Margarita, and Diovalla and Marisa.
Culinary T — Google review
Dined here twice already. First visit was around 7 PM on a Wednesday — we were seated right away. The second time was Monday lunch, and we waited about half an hour. Both times, the pizza was excellent. The main ingredient — the dough — was scrumptious. After all, no toppings can save tasteless dough. We tried four different pizzas and loved them all.

Italian restaurant
Trattoria da Nennella is a must-visit spot in Naples, known for its lively atmosphere and hearty Neapolitan homestyle dishes. The restaurant is famous for its cheesy pasta with potatoes and roasted meat.
Trattoria da Nennella in Napoli is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that combines authentic food with a vibrant cultural atmosphere. The restaurant offers a fixed menu at either €13 or €17, which is excellent value considering the generous portions and the variety of dishes you get to enjoy. For the price, the quality and quantity are outstanding, making it a great choice if you want to try traditional Neapolitan flavors without spending too much. The restaurant opens in the evening at exactly 6:30 or 6:45 pm, and when we arrived there was already a long queue outside. This shows just how popular the place is, both with locals and tourists. It’s definitely worth waiting for, but I would recommend arriving a little early to secure your spot. The atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant I’ve been to. It is loud, energetic, and full of life—if you enjoy sound and a lively dining experience, you will love it here. The staff often create noise and chant in ways that reflect Italian culture and tradition. While I couldn’t fully understand all of it, it added to the fun and unique vibe of the place. Overall, excellent food, generous portions, and unbeatable value!
TOMSON J — Google review
Food is very mediocre. However, a bottle of wine was $6. The atmosphere is super fun. After the meals are served, the staff starts singing and dancing and you get to party along. Over all, go for a good time and definitely not the food.
Mahsa M — Google review
I love the atmosphere here. It makes everyone so happy dining here. They got music, everyone would dance between the dishes. Basically a lunch time party. For the food, it not very outstanding and the portion is quite small. But the meal is affordable. Make you feel like eating fast food. If you seated at the basement like me, you probably can’t join or see the party going. So make sure your seat is the best one
Tim079100 — Google review
I guess I wasn’t sure what to expect from the reviews when I got here. The unique nature of this restaurant gives it 3 stars. It’s a very small reasonable menu to digest, and the prices are fixed. Both locals and tourists come here. They serve dinner, then dance on the main floor. The downside for the tourists is that they sing catchy new songs in Italian, so you don’t really know what they’re saying. The food is also *okay* not outstanding in terms of quality. As others have mentioned, come here for the experience not the food.

To begin with a boy who is taking a list at entarance , really very “antipathetic.” I havent seen a person impulsive like him all of my life. After waiting one hour , finally I am inside. I am exciting because I am thinking about very delicious foods. But unfortunately it is not. I ate pasta patata , eggplants and napoliten meatballs. I am disappointed about Pasta patata , eggplants is not so tasty. Only meatballs avarage. A french boy who was eating next table asked me “sorry, are you from Naples, I told no, and he continued I did not understand why this restaurant is famous. I am dissapointed.” The dialogue summarizes the taste of this restaurant. If you have time to waste , go and wait there about 1.30 hours

Came here because a friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. You have to make a reservation. This place is crazy popular and I understand why. The food was great. The service was excellent. The waiters dance on the tables at the end of your dining experience if you wait long enough. I didn't appreciate a toilet man asking for tips but other than that they were great. Get the pasta with potatoes. It's filthy good.

Trattoria da Nennella is more than just a restaurant—it’s a true Naples experience. We had to wait a little before getting in, but the anticipation only built the excitement, and it was absolutely worth it. The setup is simple: a fixed menu where you choose a first dish, second dish, and a side. We tried the pasta and potatoes as our first dish and the meatballs with tomato sauce as the second, with a classic side. Everything tasted authentically homemade, with bold flavors that instantly transport you to a Neapolitan kitchen. The meatballs were tender and rich in sauce, while the pasta and potatoes were hearty, comforting, and full of character. Still, the real highlight is the atmosphere. It’s lively, warm, and buzzing with energy—you don’t just eat here, you feel the spirit of Naples. Between the authentic food and the unforgettable vibe, Trattoria da Nennella deserves its reputation.

La Locanda Gesù Vecchio is a modern osteria in the Spaccanapoli area, offering traditional Neapolitan dishes with a contemporary twist. The bright and breezy eatery serves classic pasta and meat dishes alongside vegetarian and gluten-free options. Highlights include ziti alla Genovese, paccheri ripieni e fritti, eggs in Purgatory, black pork sausage with chips, and a variety of salads.
Consistently Delicious – A Must-Visit! I’ve dined here twice, once in 2023 and again in 2025, and both times were absolutely fantastic. The food is delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared—I loved every bite! I truly can’t recommend this place enough. One pleasant surprise was that they offer a dedicated gluten-free menu, which is a big plus for anyone with dietary needs. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and there’s a great selection of wines to complement your meal. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to eat here—I’ll definitely be coming back! I recommend making a reservation in advance, as they’re usually fully booked.

Hidden little restaurant with a pleasant interior and cosy music. The starter was a nice little treat; fried pasta with meat filling and a touch of sweet, the two pasta dishes were delightful in flavor and perfectly cooked. The ragú was with tender beef and tasteful tomato. Recommended for those of you who need a break from the noise in the city while enjoying good pasta. We came without reservation just after opening hour at mid day on a Thursday and the restaurant was both full and fully booked for the rest of the day.

I did a quick search on where to have lunch for a short day in Naples, showed my bf the food and he said they looked on point so we booked a tabe there - did not know they were on Michelin list for years. The place was small and full, you have a waiting line even you booked the table in advance. It is a nice cozy restaurant with good service. Food was nice, i just didnt like the panna cotta with the caramel sauce because the taste was odd to me. Overall everything was good 👍

We had a very pleasant dinner here. The service was friendly and polite, simple but genuine. The atmosphere is what really makes this place special — a small and intimate locanda with just a few tables, soft lighting, and a calm, cozy vibe. It feels like dining in a local home rather than a busy restaurant, with little noise and an authentic neighborhood touch. Prices are fair for the quality, and the food was really satisfying. Most dishes were very good, especially the trippa alla napoletana, which was rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. Everything felt homemade and prepared with care. Overall, it’s a lovely place for anyone looking to experience traditional Neapolitan cuisine in a relaxed and authentic setting — far from the tourist crowds.

Visited 29/7/2025. Had the Ziti Genovese, which was appropriately cooked. Paccheri friti had a nice filling, but you must eat it before it loses it's crunch. The fried cod was fine, not overcooked, though again the batter could have been improved. Two out of the 3 house white wines we sampled were bad. I've never had bad wine, so when I asked if it should smell like this, they immediately suggested changing to a different type, which we were very happy to do (was surprised that at the probability of getting 2 spoilt wines in a row, and wondered if it was just the local wine that tasted that way, but couldn't find anything on Google about whether it should smell like urine, so we went out and bought a bottle of falaghina and that tasted fine!). Happy we got the Ziti genovese, and service was very efficient, but at the end of the day, the beef wasn't actually any more tender than the local osteria where we had it for lunch.

By far the best experience we had in Napoli. The servers were amazing and the food presented beautifully. We had a reservation so we didn‘t have to wait at all, the servers were very attentive and so nice. Food wise we loved the appetizers, pasta and desert a lot. It was pretty good and not too expensive. I can recommend this to everyone visitng Naples :)

One of the best dishes in Naples. Not many have rabbit. Braised so will the meat was tender, juicy and savoury. The Pici Alla Genovese was delicious, right balance is saltiness and caramelised onions. The decor was very coat classic Italian. The tables are fairly close together. The staff was attentive friendly. Definitely would come back to try other plates.

Cibi Cotti is a legendary market eatery located in the Mercato della Torretta in Naples. The no-frills space offers bargain-priced Neapolitan classics such as tripe in tomato sauce, pork rib tips in ragu, and chickpeas and greens cooked with love by Anna Pappalardo until her passing in 2017.
This place is so worth the trip. I walked an hour and a half from my apartment because it was such a beautiful day today. And decided I would reward myself with some food from here. My only advice is don't go in and order when you're over hungry haha I ended up ordering the breaded meal cutlet and it was so delicious! I ordered the bacalao with tomato and black olive. I ordered the oracchetti pasta and then I also got the grilled squid on toast. I originally planned on vegetables and just one entree haha but I have the food for the day. I walked out to a table out by the Sea. Enjoyed some of my food. It was absolutely delicious!. The service was fantastic. Super friendly... He laughed when I said I only needed one fork lol wonderful! Wonderful food

The definition of "hidden gem". This spot is literally hidden inside a local market, you won't find it just walking around the area, and probably that's what makes it so authentic. When you see all the locals eating here you know it's the real deal. No menu, no listed prices. Just some freshly homemade food on exhibition to pick from. We had pasta e patate (a Napoletan classic), some cooked vegetables and the octopus. All of it was outstanding, the taste was delicious. This is how homemade Napoletan food should taste like. The service was super friendly, and even though they could have taken advantage of us since we were tourists, I am pretty sure they didn't considering how cheap the food was (20 EUR for the three dishes, I believe the octopus was 9 EUR, the pasta 4 EUR and the mixed vegetables 7 EUR). There is no coperto charge, but beware that if you eat the bread on the table you'll pay an extra euro.

Probably one of the worst meals we had in Naples. However everyone was kind and could tell a local place. The fried cheese was cold (they put in microwave but still not good) the pasta and beans was flavorless. The fish had so many bones. We ate mostly bread and was underwhelmed unfortunately with the food
K M — Google review
Just go. It's real southern Italian, local, and hard to find so you know it's good I really want to tell you not to go because it's going to gettoo busy. It is kind of cafeteria style. Just tell them what you want and they'll dish it out for you. I speak Italian but the staff does speak English and ia helpful. They had vegan options as well. The menu changes daily so be aware of that. The vegetables are outstanding and the carrots... I could have had 2 full plates of them. The picture may not look like much but trust me when I tell you that is was the closest thing to home cooking you're going to find there. The red wine, locally made and so refreshing! The vibe is typically Napoli. You will not want to miss this place.

Nestled near the elegant Chiaia neighborhood and the iconic Piazza Plebiscito, Pizzeria Brandi is a historic gem that has been delighting patrons since its establishment in 1780. This charming venue offers a cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying their renowned wood-fired pizzas and delectable seafood pasta paired with fine wine.
This highly rated restaurant does not disappoint. The portions were huge, but somehow we were not stuffed. My wife ate her entire pizza, and I finished my fried Calzone (highly recommend both.) Service was impeccable. Reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching.

Incredible history… the pizza is right up there, but a standout is the service and atmosphere. Some other highly rated pizza restaurants in Napoli have slightly better pizza, but can’t beat the atmosphere at Brandi… deserves a visit for all pizza pilgrims… and the best thing is its very reasonably priced .
David D — Google review
The oldest pizzeria in Naples, but there is no corresponding refinement - character - decoration, characteristic of Italian culture... very average. Nice food, plenty of choices, pure Italian flavors, fresh ingredients. The staff is polite, smiling but slow in service (maybe it's because of the high traffic. I think it matters where you sit, for example, not in the basement, not on the first floor...I suggest the ground floor). You will find many local patrons as well as tourists. I highly recommend it for food... you just need a little patience for the service and everything is fine.

My partner told me this place was the origin of margherita pizza so we had to try it. Despite of arriving Naples at 6pm the same day we made an effort to head to Brandi which was a 18 min subway ride from Naples terminal and our hotel. The atmosphere was lovely with music playing, outdoor seating and people passing by. When we asked for the table the old server was quite rude. He told us to wait in the corner and was looking annoyed. I don't know... He might be racist. Not much asian around. He was nice to other tables 🙄 anyways, the food was amazing. Fresh, light, flavorful. The octopus salad was lacking taste a little bit but I like the sauce. The table was very slanted which was kind of awkward. The younger server was nicer and explained the food and drinks. It was still a good experience trying the origin of pizza. I'd recommend this place but service needs to improve. Pizza was definitely better than Rome. It's Naples after all 😄

Busy place - in the middle of a popular tourist stops, the history of a place responsible for creating Margherita pizza also brings in some people (🙋‍♀️) Possibility to sit in or under a parasol outside. The pizza menu is not big but you don't mess with the perfection (Margherita) We ordered plain Margherita and mushroom Margherita - both smelled amazing, like a fireplace in the middle of the forest. I would not call it the best pizza in the Napoli, but definitely still delicious and worth trying.

Ristorante Europeo Mattozzi is a charming and cozy restaurant located in an antique-filled space. The walls are adorned with copper cookware, old paintings, and ceramic dishes, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's situated near historic landmarks like Piazza Bovio and the Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant offers classic Neapolitan cuisine, including pasta, pizza, grilled seafood plates, stuffed fried zucchini flowers, and signature peach bellinis made with fresh pureed peaches.
Probably the best meal we had in Napoli - the photos don’t do it justice. Everything was cooked perfectly with so much flavour! The pasta Genovese was a standout (as was the lemon tart).

I liked very much the “timelessness” of the place. Very much Italy in the 1960s! Equally, the food is nice and simple yet very tasty. Where else to eat “pasta e patate” if not here!

Group of 5 of us went for lunch on our last day in Naples. Arrived right on 12:30 as they opened and they welcomed us with a great table. Impeccable service, very kind waiters even though we don’t speak Italian. Delicious food and great traditional interior.
Sian P — Google review
This is a typical Neapolitan restaurant, and it’s plenty of Neapolitan customers, which means you can find here the real, and well done, traditional recipes. You can find on the walls a lot of pictures telling the long story of the restaurant, which was started about 100 years ago and is now at the third generation managed by the same family. There is attention during the service. Appetizers with buffalo mozzarella, eggplant parmigiana and fried zucchini flowers, then special soups with beans and seafood or chickpeas and chestnuts, then pasta alla genovese or puttanesca with amberjack and capers. To finish babà with rum and caprese chocolate cake. All served on timely manner for a table of 10 people. The price is right.
Emanuele B — Google review
Time out wrote “Run by the charming Alfonso Mattozzi, who greets all his customers like old friends at the door” and yes, this is the welcome you can expect if you are Italian. However if you are foreign, despite all your best efforts to be polite and attempt to speak in Italian you will be met with surly, contemptuous waiting staff who maintain a steady level of rudeness throughout. Having said that the food was the best we had in Naples and the restaurant itself was very nice.
Chloe C — Google review
Nice place with the spirit of Napoli, good quality food but EXAGGERATEDLY highly priced. The owner and the waiters were so kind, we got offered an appetizer to endure hunger waiting our turn to be seated. But nothing is for free; as a matter of fact, all the kindness was to justify the highly marked-up prices and after a theatrical generous discount, we ended up paying 60€ for a shared entrée, a shared main dish and a shared dessert. 🤔 Ps: We were lucky they had a typical band playing Neapolitan traditional songs at the end of the evening and it was enjoyable.
Boutros L — Google review
Still has the classy Italian atmosphere which doesn’t appear a lot these days. The owners are there, you feel how much they give importance to customers, service, quality. Must try when you are in Naples. The food is delicious too. We missed some traditions so I’m writing down for you to not miss it. Order a pizza to share at the beginning even if you are 2, small mozzarella and tomatoes to share, fried plate or only some for ex. Fried zucchini flowers to taste and then primi piatti for yourselves and if there is still a place a secondi piatti to fell the restaurant at most. Enjoy!
Dilara H — Google review
Most of the bad reviews you'll read are from Americans expecting the staff to crawl on their hands and knees to welcome them. If you make an effort to say hello, please and thank you in Italian they will be more than nice. I do not care if the server frowns, he was very professional, and brought us delicious food. Speaking of the food, I had the bean and cuttlefish soup and it was out of this world. Naples has good seafood but this was the best I had on my trip. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of the food and the comfort of the place. You can tell it's worth going because locals eat there and recommend it. Grazzie mille !

50 Kalo is a popular pizzeria known for its thin crust, natural tomatoes, and unique toppings. Despite being a newcomer compared to long-established pizzerias in Naples, 50 Kalo offers some of the finest pizza in the city. Located near the waterfront in Piazza Sannazaro, the restaurant provides a modern dining experience with its bright and spacious interior. The service is exceptional and efficient.
I love this pizzeria that received a Michelin star in the past. The server was great! She gave great recommendations on ordering. I love this authentic Napoli style pizza. There are over twenty varieties. They do not offer salad, just pizza and beverages. Nice air conditioning inside with considerable seating. Outdoor dining options as well. I like their crisp, clean uniforms.

This pizza might have changed my religious status, because I think it made me see god. Just get the Buffalo Margherita as far as pizza. It’s so good you don’t need other toppings, they are distracting. Also, all of the appetizers / fried food are amazing.

This pizzeria is well-known and definitely worth a visit. It doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait a bit at the entrance, especially during busy hours, but the line moves quickly. Once seated, the service is fast, friendly, and efficient. The pizza itself is excellent, full of flavor and baked to perfection, which makes the wait completely justified. Prices are fair considering the quality and the popularity of the place. Overall, it’s a great spot for anyone who appreciates authentic pizza in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

We had some great pizzas at this restaurant in early October 2025. My wife said her margarita was the best she had on our three-day trip to Napoli. I also liked my pizza, an homage to the classic flavors of Calabria. Highly recommended.
Robert F — Google review
Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star and am tempted to give 3 stars is due to the poor management of assigning tables when you check in at the front door. We had a party of 4 and like anyone else checked in and waited in line for around 40 minutes. People who checked in after us maybe waited 15 min with party of 2,3,4,5,6 which was pretty annoying and I've never felt disrespected as a patron. I do not like to make assumptions, but if you dont look Italian then they tend to push you aside and not honor the check-in system of first come first serve. Besides the horrible management of the line, the food here is amazing. They do have amazing selctions of pizzas, regardless of which you choose the taste and the aromas are wonderful. I will say if your from the states it might be a hit or miss, but this is as authentic as you can get with the pizza. The service inside the restaurant was top notch, love my guy speedy Gonzalez. Sorry I forgot your actual name but I enjoyed the table service and everything he recommend was perfection from the pizzas to the dessert. I would highly recommend the caramel cheesecake. I would highly recommend this spot for everyone to try and will come back when I return to Napoli again.

50 Kalò was a must-try on my list and it definitely lived up to the recommendation. I didn’t have to wait at all—was seated immediately—and when the staff realized I spoke English, they kindly provided an English menu. Tandem - Via Paladino is a cozy trattoria in Naples that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant is known for its rich ragù sauce, which is the highlight of their menu. This slow-cooked meat sauce, typical of Neapolitan cuisine, is served with various types of handmade pasta such as spaghetti, ziti, rigatoni, and gnocchi.
We came in a bit before closing, totally starving, and the staff welcomed us so kindly—saying if we made it in 20 minutes, they could still serve us homemade pasta. It was such a funny and friendly moment! The food was really good, especially the pasta. The lasagna was a bit cold, but understandable given the time. Super nice staff and cozy atmosphere. We’ll definitely come back on our next trip to Napoli (earlier next time)!

Was worried with them having so many sites in Naples it might be a bit of a tourist trap but it wasn't and the food was brilliant! We had maybe a 10 minute wait for a table in the evening on a Monday. We were told when ordering that the starters were to share between 2, we ordered one each anyway and they were huge! But so tasty we could help but finish them but honestly one starter between two is more han enough We had the deep fried lasagna and he fried basket to start, both were great and we had two portions of the ragu with ricotta as our mains again fantastic. The staff were really welcoming and I would strongly recommend coming here to eat as it was brilliant. I wish we'd saved room for dessert as if it was as good as the other two courses it would have been amazing

Fantastic place for authentic, slow-cooked Neapolitan ragù! We were seated (but it took forever though) and tried the Rigatoni alla Genovese and Lasagna al Ragù, plus the Tiramisu. I personally loved everything—rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. Warning: The dishes are incredibly heavy (as authentic ragù should be), and my wife found the rich, slow-cooked flavor profile was not to her taste. A top spot if you appreciate deeply savory, traditional Italian comfort food.

Very very good Neapolitan food with excellent service and a warm atmosphere! Each dish had its own distinct flavor, and we truly enjoyed every single one. I had gnocchi and they were perfect! 🤩

I went there for lunch. Soft jazz music was playing in the background, which created a calm atmosphere and was never disturbing. The place is quite small, with about six or seven tables inside. Service was warm and friendly, and the restrooms were clean. They offered different ragù dishes, and the waiters were knowledgeable in explaining the pasta options and other items. The best part was that they could speak English, which is a real advantage since this is often a challenge in many cafés in Naples. From what I saw, most of the customers were tourists, probably because it’s close to the main attractions. I ordered gnocchi, and the food was delicious.

Funny story. I thought I made a reservation at this location via their WhatsApp. It's my birthday and they were genuinely lovely on the message app. I can't tell you how much I appreciated a warm birthday wish from the team that handles the messages-but! I was wrong and we came to this location that doesn't take reservations at 8pm. They were so understanding and we were seated fairly quickly. The place is intimate which made for lovely conversations with other tables. The staff were awesome. The food was delicious. I had to take most of mine home after generous starters, as well as beautiful olive oil, bread and cheese. Sweet melon and limoncello with the bill was a wonderful touch. Un buon notte per il mio compleanno, grazie mille!

Taverna dell'Arte is a charming and cozy restaurant located near the University of Naples Federico II. It is housed in a historic building and offers traditional Neapolitan dishes with a modern twist. The menu includes appetizers like frittura and salami, grilled fish and meat for mains, and delectable desserts such as quaresimali and babas. The emphasis on sourcing high-quality ingredients ensures a delightful dining experience.
Tried for the first time and did not disappoint. Menu is a slightly upgrade version of the classic napolitana. Very tasty. Loved it. Great service and wine too! Come here!

Taverns dell'Arte was quite nice. It works only 3 hours every day so you can only visit for dinner between 7pm and 10pm. The food was good but not amazing. I liked the chefs selection that had a variety of things to try. On the main dishes I felt that they were lacking protein. Especially the pasta with shrimps it felt that the shrimp was just foe decoration. For the price they charge i would expect portions to be either more nicely presented towards a more gourmet version or to be a bit bigger portions. Still it definitely worths 4/5 stars.

Our group loved it so much we went for two consecutive dinners! The menu is compact, delicious, and innovative (in a way that works and isn’t pretentious). Great service as well! Thank you to the team.

A great find in a hidden alley. From the outside, it’s a very inconspicuous place that turned into a very pleasant Neapolitan restaurant. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and very good food. We had homemade carpaccio, excellent pasta, and then their own version of tiramisu. In my opinion, definitely worth a visit. We paid €100 for a large and delicious dinner for two.

We had dinner at Taverna dell'Arte, right across from the Sanctuary Basilica of the Old Jesus of the Immaculate Conception of Don Placido, on our last night in Italy. Great service, nice restaurant with a small terrace. Great food.

I came here without reservation on advice from my hotel, Relais della Porta, and the result was extraordinary ! As primo piato I chose the spaghetto com pistacchio e gamberi rossi crudi: a marvel! And as secundo piato, I took the smoked pork with zucchine and lavender mayonnaise: waouw! The service was quite professional and at the same time warm. A must discover in Napoli!

We didn’t have a reservation but were seated within a couple of minutes, which was great. The food overall was a bit hit-and-miss. The hummus with vegetables was unbalanced — the hummus was strong enough to drown out the taste of the vegetables. The pasta was undercooked, but the bread was excellent, and the Aperol was spot on. For dessert, the tiramisu was their own interpretation. The presentation was impressive, and the egg foam on top was delicious. However, the textures underneath didn’t work well together — the mascarpone layer was too thick compared to the airy foam, and the sponge, dipped fresh in coffee, ended up oddly crunchy in the middle and soggy on the outside. It made for an awkward bite. The staff were warm and friendly, but service slowed down as the place got busier. By the end of our meal, it took quite a while to get the bill, even though staff were aware we were waiting. Overall, a mixed experience — some lovely touches, but with room for improvement in both food execution and service.

We had our final dinner in Naples here on a Saturday evening, and it was such a fantastic choice. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the pasta was delicious. Everyone was so friendly, but we were especially impressed by Enzo, who took care of our table with great attention. Thank you for making our last night in Naples truly special!

Pizzeria Concettina ai Tre Santi is a trendy spot known for its Neapolitan-style pizza and tasting menu. Located in the vibrant Sanita neighborhood, this ever-popular pizzeria was opened by Ciro Oliva's great-grandmother in 1951. The pizzas here are described as divine, with high-quality ingredients such as mozzarella and tomatoes sourced from Naples.
I guess I was lucky and was seated whenever I arrived at the time of my reservation. I did book outside peak hours which was deliberate as I knew more chance that I’d get a table. For Naples it probably is expensive, but it’s become quite famous so that’s to be expected. For me the food and the really nice garden justified the price, and it’s still way cheaper than I’d pay at home. I had diavola (against the waiters recommendation which seemed to surprise him 😂) and it really was delicious with an incredible texture. I even ate most of the crust which I never do. Tomato salad was really good and the house red was perfect, although at 10 euros it was very expensive for Naples. I’d absolutely go back but would always choose to go off peak for a more chill experience.

We were here for lunch….the food is good with different presentation from others. We tried the tasting menu: few appetizers, 3 different pizza slides and 1 dessert. Since it was tasting menu and since they have more than one dessert I was disappointed to get only one, so when I paid I gave my feedback and promptly they offered to us Torta Caprese(very good). I do not give 5 stars because there are few things that I did not like: the music was not appropriate for a typical Napoletano Restaurant since it was more for a launch bar. Personally, I find the use of latex gloves by waiters when serving food to be unhygienic. It often makes me think that they might not wash their hands as frequently, since the gloves can give a misleading sense of hygiene. Moreover, I was concerned by the lack of a tablecloth or even paper napkins on the marble table, and by the fact that the cutlery rested on a metal stand. It raised doubts about whether these stands are sanitized or replaced between customers, which made me feel somewhat nervous and not entirely at ease.
Teresa M — Google review
Pizzeria offers well-made pizzas with quality ingredients and a distinct wood-fired character. The Margherita had a balanced tomato-to-mozzarella ratio and a pleasantly chewy crust with light charring, while the yellow tomato variation brought a sweeter, more nuanced flavor. Service was adequate, and although I opted for takeaway rather than dining in, the order was prepared on time and packaged well. Overall, a solid choice for pizza lovers looking for authentic flavors, though the experience was more about the food than the atmosphere.

Pizzeria Concettina au Tre Santi is amazing! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and passionate. The pizzas are absolutely delicious — light, airy dough topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every bite tastes like true Neapolitan tradition. This is hands down one of the best pizza experiences you can have. Highly recommended!
Sylvia D — Google review
Although I’d say I am a pizza expert for a variety of reasons, judging pizza more than other foods is a matter of preference. This pizzeria was recommended by a Cardiology colleague from Napoli. I enjoyed my pizza Margarita very much. The tomato salad and stuffed zucchini flower were excellent. The other dishes also looked great. For example their table-side prepared Caprese salad was a special spectacle. They stock non-alcoholic beer which was tasty.

We had reserved a table for 4 people, when we arrived we were not on the list... We went in, there were still free seats. We started ordering and asked the waiter to recommend something traditional from Naples. He recommended us to get 3 pizzas and share them. We said ok and he recommended 3 pizzas that we had not thought of. They were delicious! The wine was very good. The prices were quite high but the Michelin stars say everything about the place.
Dan T — Google review
You can sitt outside in the backyard. Very good and perfect baked pizza margarita. Would recommend to start with a shared sott’ e Ngopp. Ask for a doggy bag if you can’t finish the pizza.
Tom N — Google review
The place itself was nice with plants around the tables, but that was the only nice thing about the place. It seems like the place is squeezing in as many tables as possible to make more money. We got a table right where the staff were standing and keeping an eye on the restaurant. We had 3-4 staff standing 20cm from our table and looking at us. They also kept walking into our chairs because there was no space at all. Not particularly romantic or nice. We asked if we could move tables, but we weren't allowed to. One of the staff was watching videos with music on his phone right next to me, which describes how close they were standing during our entire dinner. Then there are the pizzas. It's a completely crazy price level. 18 euros for a bad pizza. All in all, a really bad dining experience.

Italian restaurant
Antica Pizzeria Di Matteo is a popular eatery located on Via Tribunali in the historical center of Naples. It has been serving pizza since 1936 and is frequented by both locals and tourists. The restaurant offers an unassuming atmosphere with a bustling vibe, and there's usually a queue at lunchtime for their street-facing takeaway counter. President Bill Clinton even visited during the G7 summit in 1994, adding to its popularity.
Situated on the vibrant and buzzy Via dei Tribunal Di Matteo's is reputedly one of the best places to get pizza in the whole of Napoli. Would I agree with this? Yes. It probably took about 5 minutes for our pizza to be made. A delicious, fresh hot margarita for just €6 which we devoured heartedly while sitting across the road spping apperol spritz. What a life! If you're ever in Naples this is certainly a place to check out.
Stu R — Google review
This restaurant was recommended to us by our hosts, tour guides, and even AI. We decided to give it a try, but it was a big disappointment. It started with the staff, who clearly weren’t enjoying their job and definitely weren’t friendly. They snapped their fingers to move us along like cattle. After a failed first attempt, they finally seated us at an uncleared table, which they started cleaning in front of us. Drinks were served in plastic cups… the pizza was well below average – even by the standards of countries where pizza isn’t a national dish, let alone for Naples. The only thing that was acceptable were the prices, though I’m not sure if they were even justified by the quality.
Tomas H — Google review
Naples is a city where even the humblest pizzeria can deliver a slice of heaven. Sadly, this establishment proved the exception to that rule. What should have been a celebration of Neapolitan tradition unraveled into the most disappointing dining experience of our week. The ordeal began with a 20-minute wait outside, tolerable enough, but once seated we languished for another half-hour before a server even approached to take our order. Fifteen more minutes passed before the food arrived, by which point our appetite had given way to frustration. And then came the real letdown: the Margherita. In the birthplace of this iconic dish, one expects a delicate balance of molten mozzarella, fragrant tomato, and airy crust. Instead, what arrived was a pale imitation—the cheese congealed and rubbery, resisting the very idea of melting. It was a joyless rendition, unworthy of the Neapolitan name. The fried pizza fared no better. Advertised as being filled with prosciutto or salame, it instead harbored a muddled, offal-like filling that felt both deceptive and unpalatable. In a city where authenticity is sacred, this was a culinary betrayal. And for a restaurant as renowned, plastic glasses were something I have never seen before. In Naples, mediocrity is rare—but when it appears, it is glaring. This restaurant, regrettably, offered the lowest note in an otherwise harmonious symphony of flavors across the city.
Tolga — Google review
The service was not particularly friendly, at the entrance they just yell and point you in the direction of the table. The dough was kinda bitter. The appetizers were good, but the pizzas were definitely below average for Naples I think they would be average in our country. They charge you a 15% fee for "service". Additionally they got our order wrong. It might have been one of the better pizzerias in the past but definitely not anymore.
Rok C — Google review
The food was very good - but it was a long line and it was not worth it. We spent 20 minutes getting just one frittatine that was good but not worth the hassle. To try, I recommend but I would not sit down to eat here.

Nice place for pizza fritta. Other pizza styles are good too. Arancini have nice flavor but are maybe inconsistent in temperature. I have been coming here for many years. Over time it's become a bit more touristy unfortunately and service seems to have gone down.
Michael G — Google review
Great pizza, terrible experience. Was told this is the spot to go in Napoli. Waited in a crowded alley dodging cars and vespas for a while waiting for a table. Once we had a table waited 20 minutes to get our order taken. Then another 45 minutes for the two pizzas! Everyone else in the room got theirs before us despite coming later, sometimes maybe seating half an hour after us. Then hounded for a tip was we were leaving since they clocked us as American. Asked locals about the place later and everyone said it used to be good. My tip, go somewhere else.

Pizzas were great and service was fast. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is that the sides we ordered were terrible. The zucchini flowers lacked flavour (besides the taste of old fryer oil), and the mozzarella and tomato salad was not good (mainly due to the baffling inclusion of iceberg lettuce and corn).

Loved the old school authentic atmosphere. Very welcoming service. Excellent food. We had the eggplant parmigian and sausage with escarole. It was hard to decide among the offerings as so many sounded good. You absolutely have to order the Babá (Neapolitan rum cake) for dessert.

Definitely worth taking a walk out of the main tourist drag to visit this great little authentic cantina. There was fast service and genuine fresh food. Wife had the tripe which she loved and the little one had meatballs. The set menu of the day was a good deal and the cheap carafe of wine helped us have a great start to the day! A little gem in a lovely side street! This place had so much atmosphere and very fair prices. A bottle of white house wine cost €9 (September 2025) and it was very lovely. The front of house was singing (quite beautifully) as he was working, and made us feel very welcome. He suggested some mixed starters (bruscetta, buffalo mozzarella and rocket salad and a zucchini lasagna). They were all lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my spaghetti with tomatoes, the pasta was perfectly cooked.

We had a lovely dinner at Osteria Gobetto. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the owner was incredibly friendly—he greeted us with genuine hospitality and immediately put us at ease. The food was excellent. We ordered swordfish, salads, pasta, and gnocchi, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The gnocchi and pasta were especially standout—homemade and truly delicious. One thing to note: we went with the owner’s suggestion for an appetizer, which turned out to be a five-plate tasting. While the dishes were good, we were surprised to find out at the end that it cost €55. It wasn’t mentioned beforehand, and the price felt a bit steep for a starter. Additionally, at the end of the meal, the owner explicitly asked for a tip, which felt slightly awkward given the already unexpected cost of the appetizer. Overall, the food and service were very good, and we appreciated the friendly atmosphere. Just be sure to clarify prices in advance if you’re going with suggestions.

I ate here three years ago. This restaurant became one of the two reasons why I simply HAD to come back to Naples (the other one was baba). Three years ago I didn’t have a reservation, and it was during COVID times. When they saw my face after hearing that I wouldn’t be able to get in… they added an extra table for us. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. And today? We were welcomed with wine and an appetizer even before entering! When I asked the waiter what he recommended, he answered: “Everything, because my mom is the one cooking.” Three years ago, this restaurant was the best experience I had in Naples… and today it was once again the best experience in Naples. Hand on heart, I have to say this is the best seafood I have ever eaten in my life. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

We were so lucky this trattoria was just a minute away from our B&B. We were welcomed like we were family, and the kids got to see the wood-fired oven and the whole staff went above and beyond to keep them happy. We ordered pizza for the kids, which was very well made. Also, I had a portion of their glorious genovese, and my wife had one of their signature dishes, seafood in a “hat” made of pizza dough. Everything was excellent. Very fair price given the quality and the overall experience. Looking forward to another visit!

Antica Trattoria e Pizzeria da Donato was the place that left best memories and culinary experience though all the stay. As we didn't book a table we had to wait for available one but the staff were very reassuring and welcoming. As soon as the table was ready, we were asked if we liked the table. The staff went beyond a mile to make us feeling welcome and special. During the whole evening they were professional, friendly, helpful. The menu consists lots of dishes, starring from standard starters through more sublime ones, pizza, pasta dishes etc. Lots of dishes are sea-food based. Vegetarian options also available. The good wine selection and the staff is happy to recommend or pair some for you. Despite the restaurant was full, our meal was served promptly and prepared as we asked. The portions were very generous and the food was absolutely scrumptious! Best pasta with neapolitan ragù I have ever had, the pizza was great too! It's in top 3 of all pizzas during the stay. Great meal! The tiramisu was OK, not exactly what I expected but the coffee was great. The atmosphere of the place seems cosy and authentic, nice simple decor with Italian colours. Despite the place was buzzing, it didn't feel to crowded or too loud to talk.

First night in Naples and we were recommended to Da Donata. The restaurant is located near the Train Termini and inviting from the staff to the atmosphere. It is recommended to book, we did an hour or so before the restaurant opened. Limited gluten free options, but the friendly team advised the octopus salad is a good option. They were informed of cross contamination from the single kitchen and were clear about the risks. This was appreciated. ⭐⭐⭐ Capricossia pizza was a tasty non traditional selection. Cheese was delicious with the toppings with a salty after taste. Enjoyed but would probably go for a margarita next time around ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spaghetti Ragu was well enjoyed by my son with strong tomato flavours ⭐⭐⭐ Spaghetti carbonara was made with a delicious guancale but unfortunately the eggs were scrambled. Not a Napolitano dish, so probably not a good choice on our behalf ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Octopus salad was the gluten free option and thoroughly enjoyed. Generous serving of octopus with fresh salad well presented in a jar We enjoyed our dinner at Da Donata but would try other restaurants in the area for comparison. Great location for cleanliness and service

We went here due to Instagram and good reviews about fried pizza. We arrived around 2pm. Finding the entrance was pretty confusing. You don't see a clear, this is an entrance door, there was a take out area for this place so we were told to enter the next door where the door and window were both frosted glass so you can't see inside. The door is sliding door. Thought it was a residential place... No sign of the restaurant banner except the top banner. We were seated promptly, not many people, it's just one tiny space. The staff recommended the fried pizza it was good! If you want to try fried pizza I would recommend this place. Food came in pretty quickly. The staff wasn't friendly, when we tried to call his attention, he kind of ignored us, then when he was close, he didn't even look at us and just did this wait gesture 🫸 with his hand. Kind of rude. But we experience this at other restaurants so I guess it's an Italian thing? Maybe cause we don't have to pay tip like in the US. But overall food was good. Reasonable. Close to the train station.

Fried pizza - it is delicious. A real cross section of folks lined up to order lunch when I was there. Great craftsmanship to make the pizzas and calzones. So freaking good!! I tried 4 different ones and they were all hits. Nice both as sit down and as to go. Even if you don’t typically like fried food, I would still recommend it. It does not leak oil and it feels very light.

If you are in Naples, whether it’s your first time,5th or 10th. This place is a must! The food is absolutely amazing and cheap! The staff is friendly and locals eat here. Got 4 pizza fritte and a beer for €22 🤯. Absolutely loved the provola e pomodoro pizza fritte and the choclate ice cream pizza fritte!! Will definitely be returning.

This place is a wonder land! My first go-to place from airport, for my 1st Naples trip. I understand zero Italian, luckily there was another tourist girl help to translate. Just ordered the cheapest one, the famous fried pizza with cheese filling (2.5euro). Juicy, well-balanced flavour and texture, so satisfying…

Januarius is a renowned restaurant located in Naples, just in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The restaurant pays homage to San Gennaro and offers a rich culinary experience rooted in Neapolitan tradition. The menu features dishes made with high-quality ingredients from Campania and southern Italy. The owner exudes warmth and hospitality, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. Visitors can expect a diverse menu with delicious food options and accommodating staff.
Fantastic meal. We started with charcuterie for two. Great selection of campania meats and cheeses. Both of our pasta dishes were excellent. The Ragù was very flavorful and just the right portion size. The pesto dish with pistachios was just as good. Would recommend! It was on the Michelin guide for 2025.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. A hidden gem. The food was traditional and rich with flavours. Excellent wine too. Highly recommend and will definitely be back on my next visit to Naples. Go early to get a table !

Quite a hidden gem! This little restaurant offers great food, a unique atmosphere and also sells some high quality products. The charcuterie board was good but not the highlight of the meal, while the pasta was absolutely delicious. We didn’t have space left for dessert, but noticed they were sourced from a pastry shop we tried and which is excellent too. Overall a great place to eat if you want a break from Neapolitan pizza

Absolutely wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. Cannot recommend Januarius enough; definitely our favorite meal in Naples. I only wish we had room for dessert because the menu seemed phenomenal. Very generous portions, so come hungry (it's worth it). Great wine selection. I would come back in a heartbeat.

We were at Janurius for our last meal in Italy after almost 2 weeks of travel and it was a lovely last meal. I got the zucchini pasta (nerano) while my husband got the traditional meat stew and both were very good. We ended the night with two desserts, a tiramisu and a chocolate hazelnut tart and sampled both options of grappa. This place was very close to our hotel and we were able to get in when they opened without a reservation, but I'd recommend trying to get one to be safer.

The taste of the baobab was a very nice intro to an amazing evening. We came from Naples in a 30-minute drive and every second was worth it. From being seated to being helped with getting a taxi to get back to Naples the hospitality was amazing. The food itself was orgasmic. Especially the starters and desserts were amazing. The steak we choose was also very good and the recommended wine excellent. Only downside, I am physically not able to eat any more.

Some of the absolute best food we had in Napoli. The decoration is a bit gimmicky and touristy, while also being fun and not over-the-top. Service was great, waiters were kind and engaging. They also recommended foods based on their personal interests even if that was a cheaper dish than what you were going to order, so you sit back with a feeling that you can trust the recommendation also. The food was fantastic, everything from the bruschetta where the simple ingredients just shine through, to the Genovese. Packed with flavour.

Osteria Da Antonio is a family-owned restaurant in Naples that has been managed by Antonio Aceto for 35 years, now assisted by his son Andrea. The restaurant offers simple and genuine seafood cuisine, emphasizing the freshness of the daily catch from trusted suppliers. With a view of Castel Nuovo fortress, guests can enjoy Neapolitan seafood specialties either indoors amid nautical decor or al fresco.
Make sure you book in advance - we took the last table outside without a reservation at 7pm on a Saturday. The seafood was perfectly cooked and fully revealed the freshness of the ingredients. Antonio was passionate about hospitality. He was warm and sweet throughout the night. We had steamed mussels, grilled sea bass in salt and sauté clams, and tiramisu for dessert. Frankly their tiramisu wasn’t my cup of tea but everything else was perfect so they deserve each and every of the five stars. Next time I’d like to try their pasta - it looked really nice from other tables.
Christine F — Google review
Osteria da Antonio is a truly heartwarming place in Naples. We had a fresh seafood salad, perfectly cooked steak, and lemon-mussel pasta that was full of flavor. The house wine was light and easy to drink. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicate lemon cream with a pastry base — soft and nostalgic. As a gift from the kitchen, we were offered a magical fresh ricotta. What made the experience special was the waiter: not just polite, but kind and gentle, like the soul of the place. He introduced each dish with warmth and care. This is not a showy restaurant — it’s real, honest, and unforgettable.

If I could give this place 11/5 stars I would. This was the most phenomenal meal I have ever had in my entire life! My husband and I are in Italy on our honeymoon and this restaurant has genuinely made our trip! We both ordered their famous lasagna and it was the most flavourful, rich, perfect lasagna we have ever had! We have been to a lot of restaurants in Naples, but this was the first one that truly felt authentic and for locals rather than tourists. The restaurant is family owned, and Antonio was so kind and the overall experience was so amazing! It’s not far from the metro and if you value authentic and delicious Italian cuisine, I highly recommend coming here! The tiramisu and lemon cake were also the best desserts we’ve ever had! I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best meal I have ever had the privilege to eat! GO HERE!!!!!!!

Osteria da Antonio is a must visit if you are in Naples. Antonio, the owner, is a pleasure. We arrived at 9:30pm without a reservation, yet he seated us with little wait inside the restaurant. There were many items unavailable, so we will be coming back tomorrow to try them. We had the lemon spaghetti with shellfish, the mussels, the calamari, and the vegetable soup. They were all spectacular. Such fresh and tender mussels, salted by the sea but not fishy in flavor. Much better than the frozen rubbery mind I have tried at many much more expensive establishments. The spaghetti was terrific, with tender tiny and long neck clams. The vegetable soup was textbook, soft vegetables and piping hot delicious broth. The best part of the experience, though, was the owner. You can tell he genuinely loves the food and the restaurant. I will be back many times.

The service was top notch. All the staffs so sweet and helping. Started outside with notice of it might rain but when it started raining they made sure we have a space inside with new set up of everything. The food was amazing as well. It wasn't just service that was good. The food was top tier, Octopus and squid was so soft and well seasoned. The steamed sea bass was extra flavoursome, the owner also helped us prepare it on table with greatest manner. As well the starter carpacio of sword fish was just beautiful. All went so well with their house wine recommendation. And finishing the meal with their recommended tiramisu and lovely cold limoncello was just such a great experience for sea food in Napoli.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience here! The food was authentic, fresh, and bursting with flavor — truly some of the best I’ve had in Naples. But what really made the evening special was the incredible service from Andrea. He was warm, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. His recommendations were spot-on, and his genuine passion for hospitality shone through in every interaction. If you’re in Naples, this place is a must-visit — and if you’re lucky, you’ll be served by Andrea!

Half of the meals on the card were taped away because they weren't available, which extremely limited the choice to a minimum. I then ordered clabrese salad and the pasta with shellfish, and it was tasty, even though due to the cold plate the food also got cold fast and very often I felt like biting into sand. Overall it was good but could be much better.

Lombardi 1892 is a renowned pizzeria located near the captivating archeological museum of Naples. Established at the turn of the century by Enrico Lombardi, who previously sold pizza in Brazil, it is now managed by his grandsons Nando and Gigi. The restaurant offers an array of well-prepared dishes, but it's their delectable pizzas that draw patrons in. Booking a table in advance is advisable due to its popularity.

The place is unique due to its food served and people serving the food. We ordered pizzas and they were delicious...the best pizzas I've ever eaten... we didn't have to wait long. The local wine was also very good. The service was excellent, friendly, helpful and professional and the atmosphere which was created was so true, authentic, delightful, not too formal, not too sophisticated...it was just comforting and satisfying. I really recommend this pizzeria

A traditional Pizzeria with indoor and outdoor seating on a very busy street. The staff were attentive without being over bearing. Our orders were taken quickly and the food came within 10 minutes. It seemed like plenty locals were regulars and the older gentlemen working welcomed them all with hugs and handshakes. Our Pizza Margherita was very good and the Arancini were a little smaller than expected but very tasty and piping hot. We still haven't worked out what exactly was in them as the menu was a bit vague but they were great none the less. The street seating was a little too close to the tall kerbs as you can see from the picture of my wife, that's after we moved it in 6 inches too. The street itself was very busy (as expected though) and there was quite a bit of loose trash around the road and large commercial bins are on the road awaiting collection .The area around the tables was kept clean though. Overall, the food was excellent, service as we like it but the whole neighborhood needs a thorough clean up.

This old pizza restaurant in the heart of Naples’ old town is an absolute gem! You can feel its history and authenticity. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the aroma of freshly baked pizza fills the air. The pizzas were out of this world — perfectly baked with a soft, airy crust and just the right amount of crispness. The real highlight, though, was the tomato sauce inside the pizza — rich, flavorful, and bursting with freshness. You could truly taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. It’s not just about the pizza, either. The octopus salad was tender and seasoned beautifully, and the fried prawns and calamari were light, crispy, and full of flavor — a perfect complement to the meal. Everything about this restaurant reflects true Neapolitan tradition and passion for food. If you’re looking for authentic, unforgettable flavors in Naples, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

We discovered this restaurant by accident while on holiday. And perhaps that was a sign. This is what Neapolitan dining culture is all about: friendly, a joke when appropriate, and of course an extremely homely atmosphere. The flavours of the food are pure and layered, but 100% Neapolitan. They don't try to reinvent the wheel. They have perfected it.

What a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday at this excellent venue. Especially the mindful, considerate service stood out and we felt welcomed from the moment we stepped in. Wow!!! Not only is everyone so very friendly here the food is AMAZING. I could not tell you exactly what we had but everything was unique, flavorful and beautiful. I chose a 5 course blind dinner where the chef picks everything for you and that did not disappoint. My husband had the 5 course land meal. We had lots of deserts at the end. Oh I cant forget the small dishes they bring to you while you wait upstate for your table. This is an experience so be prepared to be here 2.5 hours. This ranged about €240 . I would definitely be back. The views are beautiful & everyone is so kind. Thank you. Oh and they had some very delicious non alcoholic wine for me since I do not drink anymore ❤❤❤❤

Extremely disappointing experience with this restaurant. Their attitude was petulant, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. Despite presenting ourselves respectfully as content creators with proven engagement and international collaborations in over 20 countries, we were met with dismissive and condescending responses. A fine dining restaurant should value professionalism and respect above all, and unfortunately, Palazzo Petrucci showed the exact opposite. Definitely not a place I would recommend for those who expect proper hospitality and serious treatment.

Class is oozing from this place. It has earned its Michelin star through and through. You get treated as a VIP from the moment you enter, there's a huge wine list, but don't sleep on the cocktails either. I had the Sour Italy cocktail and it was one of the best I've ever had. We went with the chef's choice, five courses tasting menu. I enjoyed them all to varying degrees, the best by far was the one featuring a piglet in it, some of the softest, loveliest meat I've ever tasted in my life, I could have eaten it for all five courses. The desserts were not great, but I'm not a big desserts guy either, so it didn't bother me too much. Yes, it's expensive, but you're paying for the experience. If you like Michelin star experiences, this one will treat you right.

The cozy and family-run Ristorante Amici Miei is a popular spot for Neapolitan cuisine lovers who can't abide another bite of sea bass. Guests are also often drawn in by the wine selection, which includes some excellent choices at affordable prices.
We loved the interior. I didn’t know it was on Michelin guide. The menu is broader than other Neapolitan restaurants. The food was great, we had 2 antipasti, 3 main course, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine and paid 35 euros as 3 people. I only didn’t like the artichoke antipasti with fennel because it was a very different way of making the artichoke. Rest was all good, I’ll come again to try the steak!

Such a charming little place, with a vintage 1930s vibe and an incredible atmosphere. The staff were kind, funny, and attentive — they really make you feel welcome. The food was very good overall. The swordfish carpaccio was excellent, fresh and flavorful, and many of the other dishes were creative and original. The only small disappointment was the trofie alla genovese, which didn’t really have much pesto — they came out rather white. Still, a lovely and authentic experience, full of character and warmth. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is a bit tough for me. On one hand, the food is very good - everything runs smoothly, and the flavors are solid (if a bit salty). But there’s a general coldness to the experience. Everything feels transactional - no smiles, no conversation, no warmth. If you’re after a no-frills meal, fair enough. But if you’re looking for a place that feels welcoming, I’d have a hard time recommending it.

The best value for money meal I’ve ever had in Italy, including 3* Michelin restaurants. The host and owner (I think) was warm, kind and gave us excellent menu suggestions. We got so lucky not once but twice that we were able to eat here because this place is such a gem but you really should make reservations. Where to begin?! The atmosphere is so cozy yet so authentic you really feel like you’re in proper Italy. The food is honestly the best food we had in the 6 days that we traveled around Italy, and we traveled all around Amalfi coast and still hands down the most amazing food. It was truly like a home cooked meal. Did I also mention the price is what locals pay, not tourist. The staff especially one of the owners had such a warm soul and greeted us with warmth and happiness! It’s a a family owned business and everyone is so nice. You can also watch how they cook your food. We fell in love with this place that we went back twice. Honestly for us tourists especially minority looking we felt really comfortable, meaning no weird staring , no laughing at us and no rudeness. It’s truly what we were looking for. Cannot say how much this place really changed our experience while staying in Napoli. Thank you.

I came to Amici following a recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. Very typical decoration and vibe. I tried the papardelle with lamb sauce and it was a perfect mix of meaty but also creamy and spicy-ish. Loved it! This seafood restaurant on the beach in Posillipo is renowned for its grilled fish and seafood pasta dishes. The rooftop terrace has a great view of the Gulf of Naples and it's a popular spot to enjoy a sunset over the water.
Hands down one of the best dining experiences in the world. Tucked away in the breathtaking bay of Marechiaro, this restaurant offers not only exquisite food but an atmosphere that feels like pure magic. The view? Unreal , you’re literally dining on the edge of paradise. We started with classic impepata di cozze (Neapolitan-style mussels) and a perfectly fresh octopus salad — light, flavorful, and true to the coast. Then came a first course I’ll never forget: spaghetti with bufala stracciata and king prawns, delicately creamy with a whisper of lemon zest , something truly unique, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. We also tried: • Spaghetti with clams , briny and perfectly balanced • Risotto alla pescatora , rich with the flavors of the sea • Fried crispy calamari & mixed fried fish , golden, crunchy perfection And the desserts? • A decadent triple chocolate cake • An incredibly fresh lemon sorbet (not your average version) • The iconic delizia al limone , a dreamy citrus finish to an unforgettable meal This place is more than a restaurant it’s an experience. Romantic, refined, and rooted in the soul of Naples. And let’s not forget the iconic Fenestrella was a muse for many poems by Naples’ beloved poet, Salvatore Di Giacomo. Don’t miss it. Don’t forget to tell them Flavia sent you!

Run down place that had seen better days. Food was “okish”. Ordered the pasta with lobster. The pasta was nice, the lobster was over cooked. Portion was relative small for the price Ordered also the mix antipasto .. which was average. Mix grills plate also not very appealing. Limited seat options with sea view.

When in Naples, don’t miss this fish restaurant, absolutely interesting the predominant tradition renovated in delightful dishes. The rooftop terrace has a wide view of the gulf. Don’t get scared once you arrive, cause unfortunately there’s an abandoned restaurant which looks absolutely horrible in the picture.

We came for the views and it was very lovely during sunset. The food I feel was a little overpriced but nonetheless was mostly fresh and flavourful the risotto and pasta dishes stood out. The second plates were a little sad (bacalao was particularly disappointing, dry and oily). Service was helpful, friendly and kind throughout. Including helping us with some taxi phone numbers since we had not planned a way back to the city. Very much appreciated!

Cantina del Gallo is a charming 19th-century tavern in the Sanita neighborhood of Naples, offering authentic Neapolitan specialties in a relaxed atmosphere. This old country winery near the famous Fontanelle Cemetery is known for its legendary pizzicotti, small rolls stuffed in six different savory ways. The restaurant serves traditional dishes like melanzane alla parmigiana, meatballs, and arancini, as well as wood-fired oven pizzas available for takeout.
It was perfect when I could have a pizza just before they closed, and the boss explained how much I could eat. It's a very casual, pleasant Italian atmosphere and feels rustic. It is one of the most amazing places that you must see when coming to Naples!

The best place to eat before or after visiting the San Gennaro Catacombs! Authentic Neapolitan restaurant run by the Silvestri family for four generations, this tavern offers a soft, light and delicious pizza. I recommend!

We stumbled upon a hidden gem of a pizzeria just as they were about to close. Despite the late hour, we were welcomed with open arms, as if we had walked into our grandmother's cozy living room making us feel like long-lost family members rather than last-minute customers. The mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked pizza, set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The food itself was nothing short of extraordinary. The Margherita was a standout, with its delicate balance of basil, mozzarella, and tomatoes, capturing the essence of authentic Neapolitan pizza. Note, the staff did not speak English, but understood English.

This place is Amazing! I was walking around Napoli for 3 hours. Walked north or the "tourist" are and got lost in the beauty of it all. I came across this place and decided to go in for a beer because I had been walking around 90 degree weather. Once inside I was greated with a warm Ciao and a smile. I sat down and they immediately asked me what I wanted to drink ( I think they say how hot and thirsty I was) I was amazed at how friendly everyone was including other customers. I decided to get the Diavola Pizza because it's usually the only one on places menus with any hint of spicyness and I love the Spice Life. The pizza came super fast and it's made right in front of you basically. I saw them make the pizza and I could tell this is a passion not just a job for them. The pizza was delicious and I ate the whole thing by myself which I don't normally do because it's usually too heavy. Not this pizza. It was thin and light on the stomach. The flavors where amazing and I will definitely be coming back to this hidden Gem. It's not dead in the center of town but it is definitely worth making the short walk to find this place. Highly recommend you visit this place anytime you are in Napoli and want authentic Napolitano pizza. Thanks again to all the staff for treating me like family 😊 Arrivederci!

Fraudulent place! No english what so ever. They tell you in Italian that they would bring you the food you ordered, but will bring also some pre-dishes which suppose to be complimentary until you get the bill. We had two pastas (not good!!!) , w glasses of wine and the complimentary food, 38 eur!!! That is redicilous. I will definitely not recommend to go there.

The best pizza in Naples and Italy. I can honestly say this is the best pizza in Naples and the best I have ever tasted. The owners were very friendly and quick to point out the local tomatoes that make their Margarita pizzas so tasty. It is literally across from the main cruise port in an ally on the right-hand side behind the theatre directly facing the castle. I would recommend you give this a try. Excellent value, excellent service, and amazing pizzas.

Honestly, I think I ate the best pizza here in my life. We only wanted to drink a quick coffee but it turned out the best food-related decision of my life. Thank you very much for the crew, it was outstanding! There are local craft beers here too! Worth a try, especially the Lucrezia!

Great pizza, very fresh, piping hot, finished every bit. My wife had the three different types of meatballs which she also enjoyed, and I enjoyed a bit too 😊. We were the only ones in the restaurant, so the ambience was....however the restaurant is quite quaint and bistro like. A little further out of the tourist zone perhaps? But authentic local food offered as well as classic comfort food. Higher prices than competitors though...

Exactly what you need when visiting Napoli. A good selection of beers and wines by glass and bottle. Really friendly service. Great food - I had a quattro fromaggi pizza (4 cheese). I thought i died and went to heaven. Congratulations to the pizza chef. Great food prepared and served with love. Grazie Mille

Found it by accident after getting off the ferry from Capri. It was a very good accident. The price for the food was very affordable, especially considering it was probably the best food we'd had in Naples. The pizzas and pasta were fantastic as was the house wine and the local Lucrezia beer. The only minor downside was the two waiters having to go upstairs to get the food which meant they couldn't be as attentive or available to their guests which was a shame because they were friendly, courteous and met every request.

Family of 5, Americans visiting and we stopped by here. Food was good, I asked for a house wine and I got a local wine, I thought it was fairly priced at $5 for a glass. We got the pizzas and an appetizer. It just seems there is an edginess from Italians. Wherever we go we get the feeling of not being welcomed, not sure if it’s a cultural thing or not. But, this is a cool restaurant with a pizza oven right inside where all the pizzas are made. Pretty cool and worth the price.

Pizzeria Carmnella is a cozy and casual trattoria that offers a wide selection of classic Neapolitan pizzas, along with antipasti and pasta. Located in the neighborhood of Case Nuove, it is highly recommended among other essential pizzerias in Naples. Visitors have praised the quality of their pizzas, particularly highlighting the Margherita w/Mushrooms and Ham as well as the 'Supertoca' pizza.
Delicious Pizza and Wonderful Service – A Hidden Gem! Pizzeria Carminella was one of the culinary highlights of our trip to Naples. The variety of pizzas they offer is truly impressive — from traditional, historical Neapolitan classics to more modern and creative combinations. Each pizza is made with great care and passion, and you can really taste the difference. We were lucky to be served by Anna, who was incredibly kind, warm, and helpful. Her hospitality made the experience even better. The pizzas themselves were absolutely delicious. They were prepared by the owner himself and baked in a traditional wood-fired oven. The only downside is the location. As tourists, we found it a bit out of the way , a bit long behind the train station, from the main attractions and the more commonly visited areas. The neighborhood can feel a bit rough at times, which is unfortunate, because this pizzeria deserves to be located on one of the city’s most elegant streets. Despite that, it’s absolutely worth the trip. If you’re in Naples and want an authentic, quality pizza experience with fantastic service, don’t miss Pizzeria Carminella. Highly recommended!

Delicious pizza - the coursebook napoletana, exactly what you could want, no surprises. You cannot go wrong with a Margherita - well balanced, rich in mozzarella, delicate dough. I was on a lookout for the buratta pizzas and they do offer one on their menu therefore I could not order differently. Pizza was delicious, little crowd of tastes - so creamy and fluffy. Each pizza in this place is a piece of art - a feast for the eye as well as the stomach and the menu does reflect that - each pizza has its own page, each presented exactly as it is - vegetarian positions marked with a little leaf which is amazing. I would only note - the English translation was a little tricky on one position: based on the English ingredients, the pizza is very simple and vegetarian, but there was no leaf - that was because there was a meat ingredient that was not caught in translation. Although the wait tends to be a bit longer (comparing to some) there are couple of benches in the front to make the experience lovely from the start. For perfect, coursebook napoletana pizza, definitely worth the wait though!

Don’t pass through Napoli without stopping here for a pizza. We were so fortunate that our driver recommended this place and made a quick stop on our way to the train station - it’s less than 5 minutes away. Filled with locals and staff that did not speak English (they had to grab a young employee from the kitchen) = a truly authentic experience. €6.50 for a pizza (just over Cdn$10) was the best value we experienced. We took ours to go, but it probably would have been even more delicious (crispier) on-site.

Sea Front Di Martino Pasta Bar offers a delightful dining experience in a minimalist Scandinavian-style setting located above the Pastificio Di Martino boutique. The restaurant features an array of delectable pasta dishes, including ziti alla Genovese made with dried pasta produced at the company's factory in Gragnano. This renowned establishment also serves spaghetti with clams and bucatini with rabbit Ischia style, showcasing rich local flavors.
Genuinely one of the best pastas I’ve ever had, the chefs and servers were kind and attentive, even showing us the raw pasta to see how they cut it and make it. Absolutely wonderful pasta, my sister and I both shared the clam and beef pasta and could not decide on a favourite. They were so sweet they even gave us a to-go box of pastries! Definitely would come again and recommend to all. We reserved so did not wait to go in, although there was no queue at the time anyways. A la carte 100% worth the price, not sure about the tasting menu as we did not try this. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Definitely deserved the Michelin star.
Jasmine S — Google review
The Sea Front Pasta Bar delivered one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in Europe. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere felt both casual and refined, perfectly setting the tone for an evening of indulgence. We opted for the chef’s six-course tasting menu, which at under €100 per person felt like an incredible value considering the quality and variety. The fun crisp starter was playful and delicious, a great way to kick things off alongside a wonderful wine selection. My favorite was a Sicilian white, bright and crisp, which paired beautifully with nearly every course. Of the pastas, the smoked clam pasta was the clear standout, smoky, briny, and perfectly balanced. Hot on its heels was the fried zucchini flower, my personal favorite bite of the night. Light, crisp, and bursting with flavor, it captured the essence of summer in one delicate mouthful. The short rib ragù over pasta was another highlight, deeply comforting and rich, while the pasta with red sauce was deceptively simple but executed with perfection. The only dish that fell slightly short for us was the eggplant-stuffed pasta. While flavorful, the fried pasta shell made it tricky to cut through, and it disrupted the otherwise seamless flow of the meal. That said, it was still tasty, just not as effortlessly enjoyable as the others. Dessert was a flawless finish, topped off by a charming tin of treats to take home. Watching the chefs cook in front of us was an experience in itself, and head chef Gianluca’s attention to detail, ear tuned to every station, made it clear he takes pride in ensuring perfection. The service was amazing, warm yet professional, and we left very happy, and very stuffed. Sea Front Pasta Bar is a must-visit.

My second time at this restaurant. I came back 3 years later to eat the pasta again and it did not disappoint. So delicious. Very classy and a lovely price point too. Highly recommended! You can see them making the pasta in front of you. The classic Napolese Ragu pasta dish was amazing! They gave us a box of Neopolitan treats to end the meal. I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing experience at the restaurant. You feel as if you’re immersed in a scene right in the middle of a kitchen. You can see the chef’s preparations, the little details that make up the dish. The chefs are very kind and don’t hesitate to chat with customers at the end of the meal. The menu makes it a restaurant open to everyone, with more affordable options as well as more elaborate, premium menus.

Extremely expensive for very low quality food. They are famous for raw seafood and unfortunately what they put on your table looks good but it is cheap stuff. This review is for the connoisseurs. Average people would not understand that they would be eating only mediocre fish. Ambience is not bad. The restaurant itself is in a very enchanting ally of Naples. Crowd? Low class

Having read many good reviews of this place we thought why not give it a go. We walked in without a reservation but got a seat at the counter, which we thought would be great, and got a free splash of prosecco to welcome us. However, we experienced really poor service from that point on: we kept asking to see the wine list - nothing arrived; we were offered a random white which tasted good so we accepted. However every time we spoke to someone to order something else, the request was ignored. The food was - hmm - bland and the two fish dishes seemed to be dominated by either over-powering flavour or had no flavour at all. Maybe we just had bad luck, but at this price point it's unacceptable.

Tripperia O'Russ Napoli is a small, family-run restaurant that specializes in serving dishes derived from the 18th century, focusing on offal-heavy options. Despite the polarizing nature of these dishes, visitors are pleasantly surprised by the delicious and surprisingly light offerings such as o per e o muss. The restaurant offers reasonable prices and generous portions, expertly preparing organ meats to minimize any unpleasant flavors. The atmosphere is described as interesting with amusing decorations and displays.
It was the first time for us to try this local taste. We liked it so much. We tried regular one (12 euro per kg) and also one with the tomato sauce(4 euro medium size), both was so delicious but one with the tomato sauce was our favorite. No bad smell, and seems quite clean.

Im from Chile and loved the place. The trippa is deliciously prepared and the taste reminds me of a home meal. You can cut the trippa with a spoon, which is no small feat. Tried the tri di trippa and the trippa with limone, all delicious. If you like this kind of food, you must visit, and if you don't like it, give it a chance, you might just start liking it.

Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba is an informal venue that has been serving Neapolitan pizza, pasta, and seafood dishes since the 18th century. Naples is renowned as the birthplace of pizza and home to some of the finest pizzerias globally. The pizzeria is located across from Piazza Bellini and claims to be the oldest or even the first pizzeria in Naples, possibly making it the first in the world.
Food - Neapolitan style pizza done right. Pizza was fantastic and I enjoyed every single bite. The crust was super thin but not as fluffy as I expected it to be but it was still lovely. The toppings were all super fresh and the sauce was exactly how it should be just tomato. We did have one pizza that we did not like but that was something we ordered outside of our comfort zone so it is what it is. Service - Fast friendly service that was welcoming with a great sense of humor. Atmosphere - Great quiet atmosphere to enjoy some amazing pizza with my family. Overall I felt this was a great experience with amazing food at the place that started it all. Make sure you try the arranchini while you're there it's fantastic.

Delicious pizzas! Both my partner and myself were very happy with our order. It is quite large for an individual pizza so watch out for the portion size if your appetite is not known to be huge.

Oops…Not the Best Pizza I’ve Ever Had We visited the place without a reservation around 6 in the evening. We tried to request a table for two inside, but only outdoor seating was available. We ordered two pizzas and a side; the portion sizes were generous. However, there was too much moisture in my pizza, and the bottom was burnt, which created a bitter taste. While the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the authentic Neapolitan vibe, the environment wasn't very pleasant due to the smells and flies from the street. I had high expectations for this place, but it turned out to be a pass for me. I do not recommend it, and I will not revisit this restaurant again.

Lovely experience. I didn’t go in the restaurant but got pizza from the outside sales spot. Employee was great, we picks pizza and they took it inside to cook. I love pizza and this was an absolute must experience.

Honestly, considering this has received so many good reviews and has been here for so long, it was a little disappointing. Stepping inside feels like going back in time, with its traditional stone ovens and authentic Neapolitan atmosphere. The pizza is simple, delicious, and full of history, you can truly taste the roots of Naples’ pizza culture here. It can get busy, but that’s part of the charm. A real piece of pizza history! 🍕🇮🇹

While in Naples, we tried pizza in different restaurants, and in our opinion, the pizza at Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba is the best in all of Naples. The dough is perfect, the tomatoes have a great slightly sweet flavor, and the toppings are high quality. Everything comes together in a truly perfect taste! We also tried the seafood pasta — it was absolutely delicious. We came back for the pizza three times! The place itself is also great, and both the staff and the owner are super friendly. A must-visit spot on the map of Naples!

Phenomenal!! One of the best eats we had while in Italy!! 😋❤️🇮🇹 Get the stuffed zucchini flowers & their original pizza [I forget the name but it is the one without tomato sauce!] If we were in Napoli longer I would've gone back & tried more on the menu! 💃

Sustanza is a creatively beautiful place with great service and a clear focus on high-quality ingredients. The food showcases attention to detail, particularly in techniques of fermentation, broths, and oils. However, some found the experimental flavor combinations to be clashing. Despite this, the dessert was beautifully presented but overly salty. Overall, Sustanza offers one of the best dining experiences with impeccable food, drinks, service, atmosphere and presentation that rivals Michelin-starred restaurants.
I was recommended by the owner of my BnB to try Scotto Jonno for cocktails. I loved the ambience and beautiful interiors so much I straightaway booked dinner at Sustanza. Chef Marco Ambrosino is an innovative alchemist and culinary artist in fermentation. He introduced unique and refreshing ways to treat his fresh ingredients, often using fermented barley water and Tabasco or fermented pasta water with unique herbs to elevate the flavors of his seafood and meats. It is definitely a homage to the traditional cooking of Romans in ancient times with his clever revival and use of garum, a fermented fish sauce. For me as an Asian familiar with the punchy tangy taste of fish sauce, this secret ingredient definitely gives his food such a special unique yet at the same time, familiar Umami flavors. This is truly the best fine dining experience I have had in the whole of Italy!

Sustanza was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere, presentation blew us away. Both the restaurant and the downstairs bar are stunning, and we could not believe there weren’t more people here or that there are relatively few reviews. Sustanza feels like a michelin star restaurant, every detail is attended to. You have an option of tasting menu and a la carte, but the tasting menu is inspired, filled with unique, interesting, and delicious little bites and amuse-bouches. We ordered two cocktails, a san genarro which is inspired by the festival of san gennaro, the drink arrived inside a delicate orb of ice that we tapped apart with a small hammer. My girlfriend asked for something bespoke and was given a cocktail adorned with a thin handmade fruit leather. There was fermented butter topped with the ash of burned onion (delicious), a tomato dish made with dozens of different varieties if tomato, an oyster placed in a nest, and homemade tobacco-inspired gummies for desert. The 5 plate tasting menu was plenty for us, and wound up being a bit more with amuses bouches. The tasting menu seems to be customizable according to dietary restrictions. The staff was kind, attentive, and very well informed. Our waiter invited us to look around and gave us a brief history of the building. Downstairs at the bar the towering ceilings seem to be original, and give an ancient feel. There are antique pieces, vanities, bookshelves, globes, placed around, but the light washed walls give the bar a modern, not stuffy feel. Upstairs the walls are covered in vintage restored silk wallpapers of vibrant colors. Sustanza was an amazing highlight of our quick stopover in Naples and has my highest possible recommendation.

My new favorite restaurant in Naples. Ordered the five-course tasting menu and was delighted and surprised with each offering. The service was attentive without being overly precious or obnoxious, which has sometimes been my experience at innovative fine-dining establishments.

Sustanza was a highlight of our Amalfi / Naples trip. If you like pickles or fermented foods, this is the top restaurant in Naples and a MUST go. As others have said, the food was creative (i.e., adding anchovies to a macaroon or rose into seafood) and well executed. I had probably the best salad ever here. We had the 5 course and were totally full. It's a long meal, so would try to get an earlier slot and wouldn't plan anything after. fwiw, if this restaurant was in NYC (where we're from), it would probably charge 1.5-2.0x the cost and be very hard to get into, so go while they are still newer and word has not gotten out!
David W — Google review
Some of the best food we've ever had! The staff is amazing and the food and wine pairings were an exploration of complex flavors put together so well. The desserts were very unusual and a perfect end to a perfect meal. We got to experience lots of new flavors over the course of the dinner from start to end - couldn't have asked for a better way to spend 4+ hours on a Friday evening.
Indira — Google review
Beautiful place and great service. The food has clearly a lot of attention to detail with a clear focus on high quality ingredients. However it was too experimental for my palette, it seems they are really keen on techniques of fermentation and broths and oils , which they do well, but the flavor combinations was often clashing. The dessert was presented so well and beautifully but the flavor was very salty, more salty than I would like my French fries. We couldn’t finish it, it was very pungent The price is good value for money given all the attention put into the dishes and the space. The 5 course menu was filling in terms of quantity.

Classy and chic experience. The food was delicious, inspiring and so interesting. So things I never tasted before, on of the best culinary experience I'd ever had. The atmosphere is so good, the place is beautifully designs. I my opinion, must have dinner when visiting Napoli

Really special place that’s a must try. Must be a little adventuresome but you’ll be treated with amazing flavors and combinations you’d never hear of in the USA. Really friendly and professional staff. Fresh, local ingredients done in inventive ways. Tresoria, the bar downstairs, is worth a stop too for the very extensive cocktail list. In front of the archaeological museum.

Nestled along the picturesque seafront of Naples, Antonio & Antonio is a beloved eatery that has been delighting diners for over 15 years. Situated on Via Partenope, right across from the iconic Castel dell'Ovo, this charming restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples. With an extensive menu featuring wood-fired pizzas and calzones, as well as seasonal specialties, it caters to a variety of tastes.
JUST FOLLOW THE WAITER TO ORDER We had a very nice experience in A&A. We ordered various plates including fish, chicken and beef and we all were satisfied. I ordered a medium entrecôte. The steak was delicious and juicy. It was melting correctly in the mouth. Only thing was that it was not sufficiently seasoned and I had to add salt and pepper to it myself. In general I recommend A&A for a nice meal in the evening.

A very nice dining experience in the Lungomare in Napoli. I was worried because of the large seating area that it would be a tourist trap but fortunately this was not the case. Delicious Neapolitan cuisine, reasonably good service considering the large amount of patrons and an incredible view. Highly recommended!
Dominick — Google review
Vongole spaghetti was tasty and fresh and perfect portion size. Since it's prime location it is pricey compared to the rest of Naples but not nose bleed expensive. Amazing view during sunset 🌇 Lots of outside seating. They also have two menus. One for pizza's and one for pastas. Asked for both since they might only give you the pizza menu. Fast service considering the side of the restaurant.

Shabby trattoria.Seaview and seafood is the best part. Service is very relaxed.Friendly but slow. Bread was served in a paperbag and wad definitely portioned a day before. Baked potatoes and Antonio&Antonio pizza were not tasty.Grilled prawns really first class. Not for me.

Big place with lots of tables inside and outside. Great appetizers and main. Service is very Italian standard and the view is amazing. Around 35-45/per person
Priscila G — Google review
The pizza was honest, even quite nice. Parmesan on top, but barely enough to tell if it was any good. The ragù pasta, unfortunately, was a bad joke: pasta cooked correctly al dente, but topped with a bit of warm tomato sauce and a few crumbs of meat. No parmesan whatsoever. Service was fast, nothing to complain about there. The location helps a lot — though that’s hardly the restaurant’s merit. Also, on a €56 bill, the waiter never came back with the €4 change. Not that we wouldn’t have left it as a tip — he just never returned. 😉 I believe there are a few genuinely good restaurants and terraces along the promenade, both for pizza and for fish or seafood. The rest — including Antonio & Antonio — are simply there because of the heavy tourist foot traffic.
Bonfood R — Google review
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Antonio Antonio in Naples. The service was poor — no one checked on us, and we felt completely ignored. I ordered a chicken cutlet, which was so dry it was almost impossible to cut, let alone eat. I told the waiter about it, and he took the plate away without any further comment. We waited 10–15 minutes without food, and I had to look for the waiter myself. Eventually, he brought the same dish “re-prepared” and assured us it would be juicier, but it still wasn’t edible. I decided to try the tiramisu because it looked nice on Google, but what I received was a disaster — it seemed like someone had already eaten from it before placing it on my plate. On top of that, when we tried to pay, we were charged an extra “service fee” and billed for two bottles of water instead of the one we ordered. As a tourist visiting Naples and wanting to enjoy authentic food, I cannot recommend this place. The combination of poor service, terrible food, and billing mistakes ruined the experience.

We went to Antonio & Antonio for the name, and were we glad we did. The view is unrivaled. The food was great and the service kept pace. We had the prosciutto and buratta and the stuffed zucchini flowers, the apps with bread was filling enough, but I had the veal cutlet and she had the swordfish steak coming and glad we did, it was all so awesome. Then the sun fell and the coast lit up, what a beautiful scene. Go check this out

La Figlia del Presidente is a popular rustic-style eatery in the center of Naples, known for its deep-fried and classic baked pizzas. Owned by Maria Cacialli, it's a spinoff of Pizzeria del Presidente, run by her father Ernesto who famously served Bill Clinton in 1994. Despite being off the beaten path, it gets crowded on Saturday evenings.
Not wanting to wait an enormously big queue for the famous Michele pizza, we searched for an alternative pizzeria and found this one. Here we tried nduja for the first time, and I must say - a year later I still dream about it 🥹 The pizzas were absolutely perfect, and the fresh taste of tomato on them just can’t be found outside of Italy. 🇮🇹 The ambient is very nice, the service wasn’t too slow nor very fast, but it was okay. Prices are perfectly reasonable. 👌🏻 We waited around 20 minutes to be seated. Can’t wait to come back 😊

La Figlia del Presidente is the only place we went to twice while in Napoli — that says it all! The pizza was absolutely incredible, easily the best we had the whole trip. It’s got a real feel of a proper family restaurant, full of character, energy and warmth. Locals were eating there (always a good sign), the price was really reasonable, and it just captured the best of Napoli perfectly. If you’re visiting the city, this is a must-go. Authentic, welcoming, and unforgettable — we loved it.

Zi Teresa is a renowned historic restaurant in Naples, popular among celebrities and known for its local Neapolitan cuisine. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with a terrace that provides stunning views of the Castel dell'Ovo in the ancient Borgo Marinari. Specializing in simple yet expertly combined ingredients, Zi Teresa's menu features exquisite dishes such as Neapolitan fresella, seafood scialatielli, fritto di paranza, and mozzarella di bufala.
Food: Hands down the best pizza we had during our Italy trip—topped with a pesto base and delicate pumpkin flowers. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and memorable. Service: The service was friendly and efficient. While we weren’t able to sit at one of the view tables due to a reservation, the overall experience was still very pleasant. Atmosphere: A beautiful setting overlooking the boats at the pier—such a relaxing and scenic place to enjoy a meal.

One of the waitresses had zero patience and understanding of what friendly means. First we asked for an English menu and she pointed at a scannable qr code to view online. Later on, another waiter just gave us an English paper version. When we were about done, she asked if we were finished, and even with a no as answer, she began to take away our plates. I interrupted her and told we weren't yet. Not even 2 minutes later she asked again while we were still eating the bread. I reacted a bit agitated "Can't you just let us finish..?" and she turned around. When paying, another waiter even dared to say "Service not included", I wasn't gonna tip anyway after this experience. The food was mid quality at best. The steak was ordered medium rare but was very chewy and the grilled fish was nearly cold once served. Based on this experience, would not recommend.
Jarno B — Google review
Zi Teresa is a historic restaurant located right by the yacht harbor in Naples, known for its traditional Neapolitan cuisine and picturesque waterfront views. The setting is elegant, and the location promises a classic dining experience — but sadly, our evening fell short of expectations, especially considering the final bill of €175. We ordered several dishes: the Insalata Caprese was fresh and flavorful — a solid start. The Mazzancolle Griglia (grilled shrimp) came with four large shrimp, but they were overcooked and had a strange, medicinal taste, almost like penicillin. The Cotoletta (breaded cutlet) with fries was tasty but small, more suited for a light lunch. The Filetto di Pepe Verde was very disappointing — the meat tasted boiled and had a noticeable bitterness that made it hard to eat. We were also looking forward to trying their famous “Vesuvio” dessert, but were told it was unavailable — despite being among the first customers of the evening, which was truly disappointing. We ended the meal with Tagliata di Frutta, which was fresh, but felt like a poor substitute for what we had hoped to enjoy. To make matters worse, the end of the meal felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. The waiter told us that tips were not included in the bill and handed us an envelope. He then took the check away and only returned it after coming back to collect the envelope. When we finally saw the receipt, it became clear that a service charge had already been included. As we stood up to leave, he opened the envelope in front of us to check whether a tip had been left — a gesture that felt both disrespectful and inappropriate. Despite its lovely setting and long-standing name, Zi Teresa did not live up to its reputation, and we would not return.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Zi Teresa in Naples! We tried the mussel pasta, grilled swordfish, fried calamari, and salmon. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The seafood was outstanding, and the setting made it even more memorable. With breathtaking views of the bay and Castel dell’Ovo, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food with an unforgettable view!

Hello to everyone My family and i love restaurants and I can say that we have eaten quite a few around the world. I tell you for full certainty - don't get closer to this restaurant. A typical tourist trap. Nasty and shocking food. Services under all criticism. For the first time I left a restaurant and had a desire not to stay and warn people from entering the scene. My advice - all but any other choice in Naples is better!

The food was delicious, the gnocchi in particular was incredible. It’s a cute atmosphere but WOW. The servers were so rude. And would argue about mistakes they had made. Otherwise a great location and menu, and we were able to shake off the bad service aspect and enjoyed our evening… but won’t be back. It’s a shame!!

The countless amount of flying ants thrown at us by their fan murdered the vibe. It was disgustingly disturbing. Landing on our food, our skins, drinks, just everywhere. I wish I’ve read the reviews before I sat down. I always thought Italians pride themselves when it comes down to food - but the visit here unfortunately proves me wrong. Service doesn’t smile or does anything other than taking your order whilst hassling you. Food, well … see the pictures. Cheap pasta, cheaper oil and not to mention the bread … which was as hard as a bone. But I take it more tourists will come and enjoy la dolce vita … not. Super disappointed ☹️ at least the espresso was good.

There was obviously a language problem which was fine but the waiter was rude and brought back the pizza with cold sliced ham on top. Then secondly and EVEN worse my carbonara came out after waiting a long time and it was horrible to look at and even worse to taste . The eggs were scrambled. Not proper carbonara what so ever. Many reviews here are the same about the carbonara. And also a table next to us also received bad service with missing food etc. the food was horrible and the waiters were horrible also. We had Sunday lunch here and as far as we could tell were the only non-Italians and almost the only ones in a pair - most were big family groups enjoying Sunday lunch with each other. The food was great - I had the seafood risotto - the service was kind and effective and slightly off hand (in the best way). We loved it, my favourite meal and atmosphere in Naples- noisy, fun, busy and full of flair. We arrived without a reservation, had to wait about 30 minutes but we weren’t forgotten about.

A tourist trap convenience. The food and service were passable, but not up to the quality we expect given the price we paid, which was 60€ per person including children. Then they insulted us as we left by trying to charge us 50€ to park on the street in front of their restaurant. It's not too far from the port, but the view of the port is obstructed.

Went for dinner. Very busy place, lots of Italians, that was the good bit. The food was okay, had the Buffalo mozzerella starter and seafood linguine for a main. The main was a disappointment as I’d had a similar dish in Rome and Venice which were leagues ahead of the Naples version. What was very worrying though was that the staff didn’t know what to do with olive oil. It was like they’d need heard of the stuff. Rather embarrassing for these Italians.

I came here with a friend for dinner and I have to say it was the best meal I’ve had in Italy. We ordered so much food and everything was out of this world incredible. So much so that I’m coming back with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Service was warm, professional and attentive. Many suggestions were made and our waiter was really patient in explaining all the options with us. This place should be rated 5 stars in all honesty. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem in Naples.

We were only a bit hungry and opted for an antipasto for 2 people. We got several plates filled with local dishes and it was very tasty. The warm interior was also very nice, along with Neapolitan music playing in the background.

Easily the best meal I've had across my travels in Italy. Quite possibly one of the best meals of my life. Respect to the chef in that small kitchen, a true maestro at work.

Amazing food..!! Service outstanding. Great atmosphere.. And why only 4 stars...well for the prices the portion sizes were a bit small. More like a " Tapas" plate in Spain or Portugal. Slow cooked beef was outstanding..but only 5-6 small pcs of beef ( very tender..!), the sauce was great. Just not much of it.. The Bufalo cheese salad had 5-6 small slices of Mozzarela with some cherry tomatoes and Arugula..again...very..very good..just not much for 13.00 euros.. I would come back and eat again..no problem..food is 10 stars. But now I know to order multiple plates for a full meal. This place serves very good food. And very good service..just do not order 1 plate thinking it will be enough. Highly recommend..!!

We recently had dinner here with our not quite 2 year old. It was our favourite meal of our entire trip. The eggplant parmigiana, ragu and braciole were delicious. Gian Luca was so great with our son and made it such a positive experience, couldn't rate it highly enough.

A very nice experience with the best service we’ve had in Italy! A young man explained the Italian menu in English for us and gave us nice recommendations and everything tasted very good and felt authentic! P.S Thank you for the snus :)
NameleZz — Google review
Highlights of the meal included a crazy lady shouting and slamming the door(we were told she does it everyday), being charged 28€ to sit down(14€/person), and a fantastic zucchini pasta. Lowlights were all things ragu. We ordered 3 ragu dishes and only received 2. The meatballs were fine, but unmemorable. The meat with ragu and pasta was technically there, but the basil leaf was larger than the beef piece. The sauce itself lacked a depth of flavor, that only showcased the missing meat.

Please stay away from this place. It was mentioned and recommended in a Polish guidebook but going there was a huge mistake. My boyfriend got so sick he couldn’t leave bed until our departure from Naples. Vomiting, febrile seizures, body weakness. It was to our big surprise as he is a medical doctor, who rarely gets sick and has never got food poisoning even in the streets of far east Asia. To make it clear - the pizza was the only meal he had that day. He skipped the breakfast to enjoy the pizza more and later he couldn’t even think of food. Our pizza Mastunicola was served in pieces, already cut, which was very strange and unusual (why wouldn’t they serve it in one piece as any other pizza?) The ingredients were heavy, bitter and definitely not fresh. We were the only clients in the local. Red flag!

Very good restaurant. The pizza were ones of the very best we ever had and everyone was very nice. We will come back whenever we have the chance.

Original, delcious, high quality pizza, and extra ordinary frindleness. They make a local ale (Zone), which i ordered, it was one of the best home brews i had. I also had the Fordze pizza, white base with mountain beef, wallnuts, white truffle oil and ruccola, this was by far one of the best pizzas i had i napoli over the last three weeks. I dont know how this pizzeria is not ranked amongest the best with 50 Kaló. It was light, slightly chewy and bursting with original flavours. The owner, chef Vincenzo came to the table, and we had a good goole translate conversation, a very humble and friendly getleman. Beautiful experince, Highly recommended.

Muu Muuzzarella Seaside is a charming and intimate restaurant with seating for up to 12 people, offering a unique dining experience centered around buffalo mozzarella. The menu features a variety of dishes, from starters to desserts, all incorporating this special ingredient. Guests rave about the Bocconcini with apple and pesto, as well as the indulgent mozzarella cheesecake and tiramamuu.
We really enjoyed our lunch here, I love to eat cheese and there were no shortage of options or styles. We split the Tagliere misto for 2 and got try mozzarella in different preparations. The stand out was the homemade tomato jam made in house, it was a perfect complement to the entire spread. I also had to try the Mozzarella in Carrozza, which is a crunchy deep fried mozzarella sandwich, delicious and filling! Beautiful spot to spend a few hours munching goodness.

The food was good, nothing special. A overall good service accepted the last minutes. Our waiter was begging for a Tip since the “cover costs” were not included. We had some experience in napoli by now so we went for an average of €2 cover costs. Small piece of advice for the restaurant owner: to avoid angry customers just putting your cover costs on the menu

This restaurant in Napoli provides a satisfactory experience overall. It captures the lively essence of the city with a pleasant atmosphere. The service here is okay, doing enough to ensure your needs are met but without adding anything special to the visit. Their bruschetta, while made with fresh ingredients, also falls into the category of just okay—it's tasty but doesn’t particularly stand out in a city known for its exceptional culinary scene. If you’re looking for a straightforward dining option without too many frills, this restaurant is a decent choice.

Loved the food and the service. I think the company could improve the branding as the colours/font they use makes the whole experience feel cheap while it’s actually a fairly good setup

A nice place with a sea view and mouth-watering dishes. PDF menu, cozy terrace. We took a tagliere with different types of cheese and prosciutto, breaded bread stuffed with buffalo mozzarella, parmigiana and fiori di zucca. Then a cheesecake… so far the best I’ve tried in Italy! With white chocolate, Nutella and pistacchio😻 And the biscuit base was amazing. Very friendly waiters, they’ve also brought some water for a dog. Highly recommend and I will visit it in Milan with great pleasure once I’m back there!

Absolutely MUST visit place in Italy, in Campania, Naples. If I could I would rate it 6 stars. This place serves you as a core indridient a mozarella, locally made, very special. You probably never eaten like that before. It comes in different forms: as a salat, as a main dish, as a salmon or tune tartar, with pasta, with meat, and also as as a desert. Super modern and fantastic fusion of this produc throughout the menu, and modern approach to customers. You scan QR code, download pdf menu and place an order. Price range from 4 EUR till16 EUR. Despite of other places, no hidden cobertos. They even served us with a complimentary one espresso, and limoncello and meloncello. And on top of that the restaurant is located in the center of main street along the seaside, so you can enjoy the view of the sea and fortress nearby.

Sehr empfehlenswertes, stylisches Restaurant mit sehr professionellem Service und ausgezeichneten Gerichten, die alle Mozzarella di buffala beinhalten. A really very special and stylish place with dishes all containing "mozarella di buffala". Waiters are really friendly and very profesdional. Prices are moderate, restaurant is directly near the sea. We will definitively come again! 😍

Tucked behind the Vomero fruit and vegetable market, Trattoria Malinconico is a charming spot with a relaxed atmosphere. Once a grocery store, it now serves Neapolitan classics to a diverse clientele of locals and visitors. The menu features simple yet delicious dishes like Pasta e Fagioli and Pasta alla Genovese. Despite its unassuming appearance, this trattoria impresses with its excellent food and friendly service.
I loved this amazing restaurant! We visited on San Gennaro's Feast Day so it was very busy and we waited for a table. My gnocchi in a delicious tomato sauce was well worth the wait! The atmosphere, staff and feeling like I was experiencing Neapolitan cooking history made this such a treat. I will definitely return when I go back to Naples. I will make sure I get there early though!!
Clare N — Google review
For my first course (primo), I had Pasta e Fagioli (€4), a dish my grandmother used to make me growing up and one of my favorites. Ingredients are pasta of one sort or another and white beans in a tomato-based broth or sauce. In this case, the pasta was a combination of several pastas - fettucine, farfalle, penne, and others - broken into small pieces and cooked al dente. They used small white beans, but the sauce had some tomato as a base, but was creamy, likely combined with panna. It was a large portion and was quite delicious. My wife ordered Mozzarella in Carrozza (€5), a Neapolitan specialty where a thick slice of mozzarella is placed between two slices of white bread, dipped in egg and breadcrumbs, then fried to a crisp golden brown. Eaten with a knife and fork, the melted mozzarella oozed from each piece as she joyfully devoured every bite. She also added a contorno (vegetable), which in this case was marinated carrot slices. For my main dish (secondo), I had the Cottoleto (€6), a thinly sliced steak covered with breadcrumbs, then pan-fried in EVO to a crispy perfection ... HOOAH! I added two contorni, the Peperoni (sauteed bell peppers - €3) and Mellenzane (eggplant - also €3). Both portions were massive, the peperoni a mixture of thinly sliced yellow and red bell pepper, and onion and the melanzane in small slices, also with some onion, but with local cherry tomatoes from the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. The combination of the peperoni and melanzane with the EVO they were sauteed in was to die for. Of course, you get delicious thickly sliced Neapolitan bread which came in handy for dipping in both the pasta fagioli and EVO infused with the peperoni and melanzane. Plenty of garlic was available in everything. Adding a 750 ml bottle of local sparkling water and a half liter of local vino rosso (red wine), we had a delicious, filling lunch for under €30. Simple menu, simple food done to perfection at a great price. We found Pasta alla Genovese with meat here, that we had been looking for since we arrived. We were not disappointed, cooked to perfection and so good. The wine from the tap was also very good. I would definitely go back for seconds!
