Indian restaurant
Wings International Cuisine is a trendy and contemporary restaurant in Hull that has been a local favorite for quite some time. The buffet offers an extensive selection of over 150 freshly prepared dishes from various countries such as China, Japan, India, Thailand, and Italy. With live cooking stations scattered throughout the restaurant, diners can witness their food being expertly prepared right before their eyes.
This is one of my favourite places to go with my family and friends, and we never leave dissatisfied. They have a variety of different dishes, which are suitable for everyone. The staff at Wins International Cuisine are not only attentive and friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Let's not forget about the desserts as they are simply divine! You get more than enough options , offering the perfect ending to your dining adventure. Whether you have a sweet tooth or not, the desserts here are a must-try, guaranteed to leave you with a lasting impression of sweetness and satisfaction. I recomand it 100% as I was never disappointed in the past 6 years.

Arriving at the restaurant we were treated by staff straight away. Payment made and we was sent downstairs to the restaurant. There was no queue (easter Sunday 4pm) we were shown straight to our table, explained how the restaurant worked and left to our own devices. There was so much choice, from English food, Chinese, Indian, sushi, Italian. Lots of choice for dessert too. Once plates were finished with, they were taken by the staff immediately. Fresh cutlery was left at the table if you needed them again for another plate of food. There was no limit to the amount of times we could go up and get another plate of food (4 plates later, and feeling fat). Again no limit on dessert, and plenty of choice for everyone. There was no rush for us to leave the restaurant, and by 5, the restaurant was filling up. We were there around 2 hours in total. There was even a robotic machine that delivered drinks to tables. Overall we had a lovely time, and would return to the restaurant again.

Excellent food from a plethora of cuisines. Roast dinner, sushi, curry, salt and pepper chicken and the list goes on. Such a lovely range that you'll be spoilt for choice! I suggest you should pace yourself as they have a wastage charge (I think that pretty fair). Cocktails are sometimes 3 for the price of two and I think you can mix and match so that's a nice unique thing if you are on a group and want different drinks. There's also a robot that waits drinks, how amazing is that! I'll definitely return when I'm next in the area (next year). Thanks
Amanda G — Google review
It was simply phenomenal. We came in at around 2-3pm in a party of 5. The line was not long at all and it took us about 2 minutes to be sent into the main dining hall. The atmosphere I can only describe as on another level. Everything felt like I was sucked into China. Especially with one of those robot servers. Everything was lined with wood panelling, even on the stairs, and on the end wall it had a long screen that went across the entire width of the room. I got the Satay Chicken, Beef in Blackbean Sauce, Garlic Mushrooms and Yangzhou Fried Rice. The Garlic Mushrooms included the addition of Birds Eye Chilis which elevated the dish to a whole new dimension. Everything else was your bog standard versions of each dish but 100x better. For dessert, I had some Ice Cream with some weird green jelly cubes which I still don’t know what flavour it was, and about 3 different types of crepes. This was not before I had gotten an entire pint of Pepsi Max from the bar they had. After an hour of straight eating gourmet level buffet food, we had left and I ended up noticing something I hadn’t before. That being what appeared to be a giant Transformer. 5/5 Would go again

Absolutely loved my visit to Wings! It felt like a world tour on a plate—fresh, flavourful, and full of heart. The staff were so warm and welcoming, and every bite made me feel cared for. Can’t wait to go back!

Highly recommend 🌟 Wings is a popular all you can eat restaurant with a clean style and a solid option when choosing where to dine out. Great place to with any sized group. It is especially good with big groups as the diversity and quantity of food should be enough to satisfy everyone. Price: Not too expensive but can be dependant on your budget. Important things to consider: Drinks are not unlimited, they must be bought seperately. If you are with a group and haven't booked a table, you may be waiting for 30-40 minutes normally on an evening. Parking isn't in the immediate area. Closest recommended parking would be St Steven's car park (paid parking).
Jc — Google review
Good selection of food, loved the variety of desserts. My only complaint is as someone who struggles with sensory issues I would've liked there to be less veg to fill up dishes. Felt like every dish had peas, carrots, sweetcorn or onions in. So I struggled a little bit and know that I couldn't bring my kids for the same reason but the overall experience was a pleasant one.
Nat — Google review
Very disappointing, especially since I was excited. Most seafood was soggy and overly salty. Don’t get me started with the fruit, it tasted as if it had been sitting in its juices for hours, had to spit out most of it. Food is either bland or too salty, my stomach was very upset after finished eating. Staff told me about their food wasting policy, which would’ve been fine if the food was edible. Only decent part was the dessert. I liked the Ice cream but scooper was soaking in mucky cloudy water for lord knows how long! Also, the staff looked unbelievably unhappy, never smiled. Asked for a glass of water and was given lukewarm water and a frown, it was like I was asking for too much! Staff were helpful at first, but it was like they were watching you, felt unbelievably uncomfortable. I don’t usually write a review but after spending almost £60 I would’ve expected better service and food. I would avoid this place, could get better from a local takeaway.

If you're on the hunt for a vibrant and delicious burger experience, look no further than Dope Burger! This local gem has been delighting taste buds since 2011, when Oliver Johnson first opened a small kiosk near Paragon Station. Over the years, it has blossomed into a beloved destination with multiple locations across Hull. The colorful eatery not only showcases the city's street art vibe but also offers an impressive menu featuring oversized American-style burgers and hot dogs that are sure to satisfy any appetite.
Spur of the moment visit, been threatening it for ages 🤣 Honestly, a great meal. A bit too much chip spice, and the costs are a smidge high... However, 100% enjoyed and 100% will be back. And the chap serving us was great, really helpful and cooked us some mean burgers 🤤
Dav S — Google review
Absolutely awful, as usual. Over priced and the product was below par. I order two Hot Dogs for £8.90 each for me and a work colleague. I advised against using Dope Burger due to my previous bad experience but he insisted. The attached image is my Hot Dog. I threw it in the bin. Overly salty and clearly a cheap hot dog taken from a jar of hot dog's in brine. Hot dog skin was tough, sauce flavourless and the hot dog was close to being cold. I'm 100% done with Dope Burger. The last time I used them I paid £24 for two burgers which arrived over an hour and a half late, again cold when they arrive and mine went in the bin. Read the reviews and stop using this place. I could have gone to my local sandwich shop, had a really nice jacket spud with home made Chilli for less than £5 and... it would have been hot. Dope Burger clearly have no pride in their service.
Richard G — Google review
Ordered delivery through their website, food got delivered with in 30 minutes very fast but burger was raw pink, binned, probably won’t be ordering again. Payed £39 to received raw food!
Lauren A — Google review
Great experience everytime I come. Absolutely love the Black & Blue burger! It’s great that they offer so many gluten free options too! Loyal customer since opening 10 years ago! I’ll keep coming back.
Charles S — Google review
So over the last 2 years I’ve been to the dope burgers in hull several times, normally with my partner (who is celiac) and think it’s fair to say I know how to put the order in for her gluten free meal. However on the 21st of April 2025 I ordered hers as normal. And when I arrived at the shop was treated well etc. was told 2 minutes for food, she wanted a DFC pulled pork, with gem lettuce, pickles and tomato, in a gluten free brioche. The guy preparing the food was nice but seemed “spaced out” if you know 👀. Fast forward I get home, she has one pickle, one bit of tomato and no lettuce, and we have found out the hard way of her being sick that the bun was not gluten free. This is our only bad experience but I know it’s going to knock her confidence with dope eat franchise, and she loved it all aswell was one of the only places she’s felt safe to eat at.
Ethan G — Google review
Love Dope Burger! Staff always friendly and food is always 5*! Amazing that they do everything Gluten Free too.
Charles S — Google review
Initially we had an issue with our order, but they dealt with it well and went above to sort it which was appreciated. Food very good quality. Not sure why milkshakes taste different to wagwan when its the same product though.
Christopher T — Google review
Ordered 2 burgers and a hot dog and chips for delivery. The burgers do NOT look like the pictures they advertise and forgot the dipping sauce for one of the burgers, the hot dog bun came split in half and the toppings all over the tray. Overall it was cold and not enjoyable. They don’t like criticism either, I commented on one of the Facebook posts and had several comments underneath mine agreeing with the bad food. All negative comments have been deleted and only kept the good comments about the food. I would recommend to go to another burger place as the pictures are not accurate and lacking taste. All the positive google reviews seem very similar to one another almost as if they have been told what to write. This is a genuine review from a genuine customer. I will not be going back again.

Located in Humber Street, Nibble is a popular eatery known for its top-ranking breakfasts and delightful atmosphere. The menu offers interesting twists on traditional breakfast items, as well as a wonderful selection of cakes. In addition to breakfast, the restaurant serves sandwiches, wraps, and various mains. Customers can also enjoy sweet treats like the classic Bakewell Slice. The vibrant ambiance and attentive staff make Nibble a lovely place to dine and socialize in Hull and East Yorkshire.
I love Nibble! The best sandwiches and breakfasts! The food quality is amazing and the portion sizes are really good for the price! It can get busy, I often go on a Sat lunch and expect to have my name on the list for a table for a while. It's worth the wait though!
Kathryn — Google review
Nibble is so lovely. I went with my daughter and my baby boy who is still in a pram and I asked if they had room for a pram. They said about 15 minutes and we didn’t even end up waiting that long. I was then helped with getting my pram next to a table and felt really well looked after. Myself and my daughter both ordered sandwiches and they were delicious!! Good value and amazing customer service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.
Julia — Google review
Not a clue how the inside looks as we sat outside. QR codes on each table make it easy to order without having to wait to be spotted by a staff member. Saying that- there was quite a few of them visible and available and extremely polite when/if anyone needed assistance so that’s a huge plus. Food was nice, maybe a tad pricey for breakfast place but very tasty
Malwina W — Google review
Love this place! It's popular for a reason. Great food, fast service and lovely staff who genuinely seem to enjoy their work. I generally enjoy a breakfast here when I see friends who bring their dog for a marina walk and being dog friendly, it never dissapoints. I also took a nosy at the nearby newer deli and takeaway cafe 'Next Door' by Nibble, and that too was busy and the deli food looked delicious. Hopefully they will never change their perfect customer focus and delicious menus - its so nice to find reliabilty these days.

Great staff and even better food. The eggs on sour dough are phenomenal, the best👍Also, great selection of seating outside on those nicer days. Well done nibble very impressed.

I don't usually leave reviews but this little hotel has served me so well I thought I might as well write one. I have stayed here multiple times for travel purposes and it has become my go-to hotel for this area. I don't like to interact with people too much so I appreciate that checking in is very swift and to check out all you need to do is put your room key (which is a clever little card) in a box and leave. That being said, every time I have spoken to the staff they have been very polite. The rooms are always clean and inviting. There is always a tray with tea, hot chocolate or coffee you can make yourself as well as biscuits and bottled water. The carpets are very nice too. The breakfasts are delicious, no complaints there. My only complaint is that it can be noisy at night due to it being in a large city. Definitely close your windows at night to get a good sleep. Can't comment on the bar as I don't drink. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Hull.
Prince C — Google review
Had breakfast which was lovely. Swift service and was rather nice. Went for curry night later in the week and whilst the service was very good. The food was cold and the sweet potato was hard. My uncle mentioned the same thing. Should have been cooked for longer and come out piping hot. When I'm back in the area next year, I'll give it another go.
Amanda G — Google review
Went to meet family for breakfast. Was very busy. Food as expected. Issues with coffee machines. No hot chocolate on both machines and q's. Fixed in few minutes, but then no stirrers. A pub of that size needs and extra machine and to be checked regularly. Food service time was good and staff friendly. Good location in centre.
Karen J — Google review
We stayed for four nights. There were constant queues at the bar and in the morning the floors were covered in food from the night before. However, there were plenty of staff around. As hotel guests we can use the roof terrace but were asked to leave by a very abrupt security guard and an under manager. They told us the roof terrace was closed for "maintenance" - a total lie as no maintenance on the roof terrace took place during our stay.
Ian — Google review
I went there for a breakfast, great service really nice big breakfast, as much tea or coffee as you want with your meal and less than 9 pounds.
Terence P — Google review
We stayed at the Admiral of the Humber in July, when we attended our neices graduation. We previously have stayed in Hilton hotels. The standards in the Admiral were of the same standard. Room was plush with gigantic bed with beautiful high standard pristine sheets. Bathroom and shower so easy to use, we are both in our seventies. There was no noise from pub downstairs and a lift provided easy access. Plush carpet up to usual Spoons standard. TV easy to use for us oldies and lots of room to relax. The location was a 3 minutes walk to the graduation centre. We were also able to walk to many of Hulls historical sites. Staff were amazing. This was truly a superb experience and so affordable. Staff as usual for Spoons were amazing. We certainly would use a Spoons hotel again. Just wish there was one on the west coast of Scotland.
Anne D — Google review
Main road view, but excellent location near the station. Downstairs pub offers good food and drinks plus a nice garden area. Room was clean and spacious. Very enjoyable stay.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Went around 5, quite packed..barely anything on the menu and what was on the menu was very expensive (which happens a lot nowadays, but the food was mediocre) They have an insect problem (which they have not got sorted out) and as a result of this, some food wasted because how many flies was touching food. Every second, just having to attempt to get rid of flies. Toilets were dirty.. waited for ages and when ordered, one of the drinks was wrong. Gave it a 2 stars as it wasn’t the worst thing ever, but needs a lot of improvement.

Really tasty. Well informed of delivery time. Great delivery service. We really enjoyed our food. I had a veg korma with coconut fried rice and it was delicious!

HIDDEN GEM💎 If heaven was a place on earth, it would be Maharaja restaurant. A solid and consistant dining experience with friendly staff. The food is delicious and I can't help but keep coming back for more! The only downside is a lack of parking. Also depending on your budget it may be a bit on the pricer side. I believe that this restaurant could have so many more customers if it was in a more central location. Highly reccomend 🌟
Jc — Google review
Tried based on the reviews but utterly disappointed with the taste of the food. They have changed the dishes to full extent that they are barely close to original taste. Biryani had lentil (daal channa) in it which I have seen for the first time in my life. Strongly not recommended. The staff however was great and you can park in the adjacent street as well

Food was brought quickly when finished, well presented and very tasty. Service was excellent they got a tip. Would highly recommend if you want Indian food that is good quality, they do a takeaway service aswell

I've never had bouncier prawns in my life. Carry is in my opionion easiest food you can make, way easier than a stake... All the spices help mask meat flavor, like frozen chicken or 40yo lamb. But prawns which you can't cook for ever really showed how bad it was. This had to be chewiest prawns in the world, it felt like this prawns were begin cooked since last year... Really dark and unprofessional service. I do not recommend there are waaaay better spots in Hull.

First time that I have been.what a great night. Great company. Food and staff excellent

Well this has to be the best Indian restaurant in the area. You can take in your own wine but not beer however, they do now sell wine. The staff are very nice and friendly. It has been redecorated and looks lovely inside. There are booths down one side making it cosy. The food is fabulous and arrives hot and ranges from mild through to Naga chilli heat. We had the 13.50 meal deal of starter, main, ice cream and a coffee. We upgraded a couple of items and it still came in at under 40 quid for us both including 2 Cobra beers. We had enough left over to do us the following day. They put it onto take out containers for you. It's a must visit if you love a good curry.

The Real China is a popular Chinese restaurant located in St Stephen's Shopping Centre, known for its extensive all-you-can-eat menu featuring a variety of Asian dishes at affordable prices. The restaurant offers favorites such as Sweet & Sour Chicken and Crispy Chilli Beef. Customers can enjoy takeaway options with discounts for larger orders, making it convenient for families or groups. Despite the limited buffet selection, the friendly staff and value for money make it a go-to spot for satisfying Chinese cuisine in Hull.
Top notch Chinese buffet. The queue outside will give you a clue they this place is worth visiting. 10 minute wait to get in (despite various empty tables spotted inside) although the staff do try and call smaller groups forward when space comes available. Huge selection of hot Chinese fare, all readily topped up. Plates of average size, however as it is all you can eat (terms and time limit apply) you can go back as often as you wish. Fizzy drinks on tap to help yourself, if you choose this as an option (payable). Dessert selection available also, with cake, fruit and various ice cream. Delicious food and would definitely go again.

Tried real china for the first time today with my friend. The food and value for money were fantastic. Most of the dishes were turned over and fresh and each had individual flavours, my friends favourite was the curry and mine was the satay was gorgeous. Really had a nice time in a relaxed atmosphere and would definitely return. Couldn't go wrong for £14.95!
Benjamin W — Google review
Food is lovely with plenty of choice. Staff are welcoming and always polite, the young lad clearing tables asked each time if he could take our empty plate away. The price has increased, we went for lunch mid week and it was £54 for 3 adults with soft drinks and you're now limited to 90 minutes (which is plenty of time for most people)
Cheryl S — Google review
This is a budget-friendly Chinese buffet where you get what you pay for. I walked in without a reservation, and it wasn’t an issue. The cost was £17.75 for dinner and one drink, which I thought was reasonable, though you pay before eating. The selection isn’t vast, but it covers the basics. The table was a bit sticky and wobbly. The food was neither outstanding nor awful—the noodles were quite bland, but the duck pancakes were enjoyable. Overall, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return

Value for my money with an unbeatable price. Tasty food I got a full course for just £13 with two drinks. A must visit whenever you are in Hull. It is located at St Stephens mall in the heart of Hull. A lot to eat for a fair price with seafood choices.

The dining experience at this establishment sounds quite enjoyable. The food offerings appear to be plentiful and diverse, catering to various tastes. The flavors likely provide an authentic taste of the cuisine. Overall, it seems like a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal with friends and family.

Went here for lunch, after a short wait for a table we were seated. The selection of food was good and well presented, tables were clean and staff were always available to take away dirty pots ready for the next trip to the buffet. Good range of food with plenty of choice so something for everyone. The desserts cake was nice and we left very full and ready for home.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime. Arrived to find a queue of about 15 in front of us. 5 minutes later we were shown to a table because the people infront of us were waiting for larger tables (we were a party of 2) The staff were very friendly and cleared the tables promptly. The food was nice, not as much choice as other buffet locations - but the lower price reflects this. Love the refill drinks option! Would definitely go back if I was in Hull again.

After a day spent wandering through the fascinating museums of Hull's museum quarter or indulging in retail therapy at St Stephens, this charming spot offers a perfect respite. The menu boasts an impressive selection of hearty meals and snacks, including mouthwatering options like vegetable omelettes and cheese ploughmans—ideal for brunch or lunch.
First time in years visiting this place. It is always a pleasure to visit. Kind friendly staff and exceptional food and prices. Great idea location while visiting the town centre. Milkshakes are a must try! Or even just a simple coffee.

Excellent quality afternoon tea. Staff were very accommodating and we were chuffed to see Yorkshire curd cheesecake was available. Sandwiches were also delicious - so much filling! We can't comment on the price as we were given a voucher as a gift.

We called in for lunch on Friday with my elderly Mum. They couldn’t do enough for us to accommodate my Mum ‘s diet. We had the house special Lasagna which was delicious. It was so lovely to see Mum eating out without getting stressed and anxious. The staff were all lovely.

Brilliant cafe to visit for a bit of class. My wife and her mum visit often and rave about it so when I was in town, I took my daughter. Now she has been several times and said it's so popular, you will habe to wit for a table at lunchtime. We were there at 3pm so quite a few tables available. They have a very nice menu with toasties, panninis, jackets and salads etc. All around the £6 mark. It's all freshly made to order and very fine indeed. I had a chicken, bacon and cheese baggett which came with salad and my daughter had a tuna and cheese one. Someone had a jacket and it was huge with masdive toppings. Coffee is also available in a cafetiere which hold 1.5 cups and for £2.70, good value. They have 3 strengths. Now, their home made cakes ate just ain amazing. We had 3 portions of carrot cake and at £2.50 per slice, for the dize and quality, perfect. Absolutely fab. Lovely staff too. Clean toilets just up a short stair case. A perfect lunch. All in all 25 quid. Visit this place and keep a quality independent cafe on the map.

Kurdistan – A Great Meal with a Few Small Hiccups Today, around 15 of us went to Kurdistan for a meal, and overall, the experience was fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Tikka plenty of food, well-cooked, and very reasonable in price. The garlic sauce was a great addition, and the chilli sauce mixed well too, though I personally prefer mine a little sweeter. Grandma went for the Lamb Kebab, which was packed with flavor and thoroughly enjoyable. The naan breads served with the meal were soft and appeared fresh, complementing everything perfectly. Areas for Improvement One issue we encountered was being served a jug of what appeared to be milk/yogurt, which we hadn't ordered. It was placed on the table automatically, and later, we noticed a £3 charge for it. This seemed to be an oversight in communication, as every table received one without asking. Another small issue was that we weren’t given bread to dip into our soup. Also, for some reason, a salad plate was provided, despite salad already being included on our meals, which felt unnecessary. Despite these minor hiccups, I’d definitely recommend this place! 👌

Kurdistan Restaurant is situated on a road with plenty of restaurants and takeaways. Good news is plenty of street parking available after 6.30. Like most of the places offering food on this street, the food is better than the outside appearance. Most items come with meat or lentil soup and a nan for free. I personally dislike lentils, but this soup was very very tasty. No complaints whatsoever. The Kurdistan Special Mix Kebab platter was very flavorful, this comes with Jalik, fries and a salad as well as a coke. All the skewers were as good as each other so difficult to pick a favorite skewer. The BBQ ribs comes with fries. This was good but I am not sure if BBQ is an apt description. Teshreeb, this is a slow cooked lamb in a special sauce. The meat was superb and falling of the bone. Taste wise, this isn't my cup of tea. Although other people in my group did enjoy it. The staff are very friendly and the place does get crowded at times. Nans are very cheap, although it is not the type of nan you would get in an Indian restaurant. They are tasty. As always this was my experience and YMMV.

Tried lamb shank with rice, soup, salad. Overall good food and good staff. Have tried it once in the pas as well and enjoyed. Taste is still good. You can park in any nearby street or main springbank road after 6:30 for free. Just a tip.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful fish and chips experience, look no further than Hull Roads Frydays. This charming chippy captures the essence of traditional takeout with its generous portions and expertly battered chips that are sure to satisfy your cravings. Known for their scrumptious battered sausages, Frydays is an ideal spot to unwind after a long day, offering a warm atmosphere filled with genuine hospitality.
Great food. The staff were lovely. We are not local, come from Portsmouth as we're on holiday in the area. But used this chippy 3 times.

What a waste of money. The fish was so dry and was obviously not freshly cooked. The batter was just awful and the chips tasteless. The worst fish and chips I have had. Save your money and go elsewhere!
Graham J — Google review
Medium haddock and chips. Best I've had since I came to Yorkshire in 2012. Light crispy batter, good sized fresh fish. Super chips, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. Can't wait to go back. Very impressed. Very clean, well kept premises. A few no-fuss sit in tables.
Brian P — Google review
As a food delivery courier, I’ve been collecting orders from Frydays in Cottingham for a couple of years now, and unfortunately, the experience is consistently poor. I often ride 15 minutes to get here, only to be told the order hasn’t even been started—then I’m expected to wait another 20 minutes. This isn't a one-off situation; it's become the norm. Despite having a dedicated courier terminal, the staff regularly demand to see our personal phones to "verify" orders. This is not only inappropriate but also a breach of UK privacy laws and our courier platform’s user agreement. Our phones are private property and contain sensitive customer information that shouldn’t be shared. There is a particular female member of staff who is especially rude and dismissive toward couriers—even when we’re simply following procedure. Couriers are treated as if we're a nuisance or potential thieves rather than professionals helping them reach customers. The food itself? It’s fine—average fish and chips, nothing to write home about. So if you're a customer ordering through a delivery app and wondering why your food takes so long, this is likely the reason.
Hullad D — Google review
Consistent quality fish and chips since I used to come as a kid, big portions at a cheap price (the fish special is more than enough for me, I was halfway through the fish before I took the photo). Tables and chairs for casual dining.

Honestly a complete waste of money. Chips are tasteless and not fresh. The patty batter tased of fish and the rest of the meals was just as poor. Gravy should run not that thick that you could slice the amount you need. Our teas ended up in the bin. Will never use this fish shop again!! How could you get it so wrong.

We went to this restaurant last night and the menu has changed. It’s absolutely disgraceful that they didn’t have much in so me I’m a son ordered some tapwater and the wife ordered a lime and soda. They had the cheek to try and charge me £8.50 for tapwater, I told them I’m not paying that so the other guy said oh don’t worry about it don’t worry about it. Don’t pay anything but I think it’s absolutely disgraceful where the lad was trying to charge for tapwater. Be aware. Check your bill when going to this restaurant, they’re having people’s pants down be aware, the place has gone downhill

Ponti is a charming Italian establishment that remains popular among locals, offering delicious and affordable food. It's an ideal spot for a tasty lunch with family and friends, serving up a variety of options including quiche, sandwiches, bagels, and salads. The Italian eggs dish is particularly impressive with its combination of pesto, mozzarella, prosciutto, Italian sausage, eggs, and ciabatta.
First time eating here and I was really impressed. Although il pop on newland ave for a coffee often I seldom go in ponti. I got an espresso a few weeks back and the food looked amazing so decided to come for breakfast. The Italian Italian eggs were amazing. The combination of pesto, mozzerella, prosciutto and Italian sausage with eggs and ciabatta was fantastic and a good alternative either to traditional English breakfast fair other baked eggs dishes such as Mexican eggs or shakshuka. Service was excellent too. Staff very personable and polite. I will definitely be back.

My husband ordered us an afternoon tea for two for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious. The sandwich fillings were great, the sausage rolls the best I've ever tasted and the cakes were mouthwateringly tasty. Lovely cafe Fresh, tasty, healthy food and great Italian coffee. Love that they can make most of the focaccias fairy free for you as I'm dairy-intolerant. One of my go-to spots for lunch. Great place.

The best local coffee shop, bar none! Always a lovely welcome from the friendly staff, who are also accommodating to your personal preferences. I generally visit for one of their gorgeous coffees; there's a really good selection & the coffee blend is excellent. A good-sized menu, with a very nice breakfast/brunch selection; try the Ponti Eggs & Prosciutto special. My favourite from the Lunch menu is the, very authentic, Cabrese salad. All food is fresh & home made.

A cosy cafe, with a friendly atmosphere. The lunch food was good, however they did not have any soup of the day left in the afternoon. The prices are reasonable. A lunch of two sandwiches with side salads and two cokes came to £11.40 something. Can't comment about the coffee here as we didn't try it on this occasion.

Lovely Italian cafe, delicious home made cakes with vegan options. I had sicilian lemon tart, sweet and tangy with a light custard like texture, bliss! I had a soya lattè which was wonderfully creamy. Relaxed surroundings and seats outside for when the weather is warmer. A great place to relax or to chat with a friend. Friendly pleasant staff the proprietor is welcoming. I've been there a number of times both alone and with friends, I will certainly be going back again soon.

Love this place! Small enough to be cosy, and big enough to do a range of food options. Food is great - I think some of the quiches might be Vegan, but I don't know how! Salad has optional lemon dressing, which was really nice. Their cakes are to die for. Would recommend the Sicilian Lemon tart - reminiscent of Tarte au Citron, but with it's own flavour, and Roman apple cake went down well with my companion. Great place to chill out with a friend. Reasonable prices, too.

Not the place it used to be. Waiting ages for our food, chicken panini ( it came in two slices of bread 🤷🏻‍♂️). Mushrooms on toast, pic attached, was a joke. The only plus was the coffee was nice. We won't be returning.
Andy S — Google review
My second visit to Hull's Secret Garden. There was a long queue at the counter but it soon went down. The wait was about 20 minutes which was fair enough given the busyness! The all day breakfast was tasty, but the sausages tasted almost like vegetarian sausage. Not worth complaining about but there we are. Odd sausages! The ham and cheese toastie was nice and not too filling for a lunch. Service was good, the staff were hassled but friendly. There is a lift for disabled access. The toilets were clean.
David H — Google review
We Ladies wot Lunch thoroughly enjoyed this place. NB: so why only 1 star? They could not answer (and were somewhat disinterested), or produce the Allergen File which identifies which items (in this case deserts) were vegetarian or contained allergens, dangerous and I (tongue in cheek) suspect illegal. Accessibility - wide double electronic doors leading to the lift and stairs. Multi level platforms, one section level upstairs from the lift and to the counter. Car Park - the restaurant is in a pedestrianised area, we used the Prince's Quays. Menu - good variety for carnivores, cheese/egg largely for veggies. Mains had V symbol for the veggies, forget pudding, they just waved hand and none of them were veggie and could/would not produce allergen file. Being busy is not an excuse, some one's life might depend on it and every person counts! Toilets - includes for disabled. Staff - generally helpful and friendly, but totally disinterested and unable to provide file detailing what was vegetarian (puddings) or allergens. I asked for the card receipt, premptorily told 'you don't get receipts with card taps', I said, 'well I want one', so they went into the back to get one.

Visited with my family for lunch, food was absolutely rubbish, the food is also very expensive I ordered a mushroom omelette which was about 2 inches thick with a pile of tinned mushrooms thrown on the side. It was very unappetising. One of my party had scrambled egg which wasn't mixed properly and was just a mess of white and yellow on their plate. The place is run by teenagers who don't have a clue about customer service. We waited 50 minutes for our food even though the place wasn't busy, one young girl spent most of her time leaning against the counter doing nothing. We definitely won't return and I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone until they retrain or get better staff.

I came to this location for my breakfast and my experience here was very nice. This place is located on Holderness Road, and you can tell upon entering that they have their own little community, which has been built up by their lovely and friendly staff. The food was very nice, I ordered a vegetarian full english as well as a vegetarian panini, and both of these were very nice and homely foods, perfect for a quick and easy morning breakfast. The only downside was that some dirty dishes and leftover food were left in tables, and i had to move some to sit down. I do appreciate that there are busy periods, and I may have come at one, but this did slightly take away from my experience.
Peter B — Google review
Thought it was expensive compared to better establishments. Wanted ham sandwich on bread. They didn't have any ham, but when we didn't want anything else they sent a worker to the shop for some ham. When he came back from the shop, he went straight into the kitchen area. He did not wash his hands. He continued to get the ham out of the packet and put it on the bread to do the sandwiches, with his bare hands. He brought it to us, on thick brown granary bread, not even cut in half. It didn't taste nice at all. We did get a mug of tea which was a good brew. There was a worker sat at table on his computer, he got up went into the kitchen area, and started pulling his trousers up. He then started cooking food for other customers and he did not wash his hands either. No hygiene shown at all. Toilets was not clean and there was no soap to wash your hands. There was a tatty piece of mat near where the counter was, this was secured with black tape. It looked awful but was a risk to the staff that was carry and serving the teas ect, from behind the counter. Very disappointed with our experience and the food. We will never go in this cafe again.

Been here several times now and has to be the best cafe around for miles. Great freshly prepared cafe food. Plenty of filling in the sandwiches and fat non greasy chips. It would have been 5 stars however our chips were covered in that American chip spice without us being asked if we wanted it or not, and we didn't. Very hood prices and lovely staff. Very clean and a couple of outside tables are available. Had Fab breakfasts here in the past. Highly recommended.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Kingfisher is a long-established fish shop known for its superb food and service. Customers praise the fresh, tasty food with perfectly cooked chips and delightful service from the staff. The portions are generous, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Whether it's patty and chips, sausage in batter, or haddock fish, Kingfisher consistently delivers delicious meals that leave customers satisfied.
Kingfisher is a traditional fish and chip shop. The fish is cooked fresh to order and very tasty. There is plenty of variety on the menu fish cakes, spam fritters, mushy peas gravy, etc. The patties are light and fluffy with just the right amount of Sage in a lovely crispy batter. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The shop is cash only and cheaper than some chip shops i have been to recently. Highly recommended.

The sausage and chips were nice, but lacked something. I think the cooking fat was different to other places or the cooking fat tastes old. Sausages were a little bit on the greasy side but they tasted fine. Good customer service. Depending on what you want in a chippie, this chippie is certainly in my top 20 of all time for Hull's greatest chippies.

Trust me the fish and batter is always lovely from here. Even if I have got far to walk for it. Plus they are rated up there with others. The Artisan Coffee & Art, located on Newland Avenue in Hull, is a charming and delightful café that offers a perfect spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks while watching the bustling street. The menu includes a variety of hot drinks, sweet treats, breakfast items, and lunch options at reasonable prices. They also cater to dietary needs with gluten-free and vegan cake options as well as savory dishes like quiches.
Absolutely amazing experience. The staff were very cheery and funny, and the prices are reasonable considering other cafes around the area. The atmosphere is amazing with tons of art that can be bought. The quirky tea cosies are hilarious, one even had a fox on it. The cakes were divine and quite rich. Definitely will drop by again as it was absolutely delicious. Considering I'm not vegan, the BLT was fantastic.

Lovely cosy little cafe, adore the window displays as it gives the place such character. Lovely selection of coffee and sweet treats. Really enjoy that they display works from local artists.

Absolutely lovely little cafe & coffee shop! I adore The Artisan, and am so gutted to hear it's going to be closing over the next month. It's shops like these that really make our community here in the Avenues part of Hull feel like a close-knit family. Not only do they have some of the yummiest, freshest baked goods (their lemon cake is to die for!), and the best cups of coffee & tea, but they also help support local artists & artisans by selling local artwork and handcrafted items by them! I wish more homegrown local shops & cafes did that! It's a very unique spot with a warm, friendly atmosphere with a vast array of fun artwork decorated on their walls. By far one of my favorite spots on the Avenues. Anytime I know I'm heading towards Newland Ave, I make a stop here- and you should too, before their doors close permanently in May! xxx

We had our wedding meal at The Artisan and couldn't have been happier. We chose the Artisan as we wanted somewhere that did great food and drinks - but was also intimate with a lovely, romantic atmosphere. Emma went above and beyond to make sure we were happy - and the afternoon tea was absolutely perfect. We visit this amazing cafe regularly and could not recommend it highly enough. Patrick and Hollie

Beautiful little coffee shop, so many fresh products too try, I tried the delicious elderflower garden lemonade and it was honestly the best drink I've had in a while 😍 I also had the bacon, cheese and tomatoe chutney sandwich which I was so excited to eat I forgot the photo!!! Defintley worth the visit!!!

Really pleasant atmosphere, staff are very accommodating and the prices are very reasonable. Good place to socialise with friends over a light bite and a coffee

Fantastic friendly service, really feel welcome and relaxed in here, the coffee is immense, the savoury food is truly incredible and the cakes have to be the best in hull! Will definitely go again ☺️

Vegans and vegetarians, tell your friends, a CHOICE of delicious cakes made without using animal products. If you love independent artists there is loads of fab art up on the walls and available to purchase, and some quirky Little gift ideas too.

Doner kebab restaurant
Mr. Hugo German Street Food has made a delightful mark in Hull, bringing the vibrant flavors of Germany to the city's bustling Hammonds Food Hall. This eatery is a haven for food lovers seeking something unique and affordable, especially during the sunny months. With an enticing menu featuring Bratwursts, schnitzels, burgers, and kebabs, Mr. Hugo caters to diverse tastes while ensuring that every dish is prepared with care.
A unique find in Hull Town centre. Came to try this new restaurant and was really impressed by it, the menu is different, offering lots of German style street foods and it's very affordable. The Bratwurst was well prepared and came with a large amount of fries, warm pretzel and a nice potato salad. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend trying one of their milkshakes!
Kay — Google review
Had big expectations for our first trip to Mr Hugo in Hull but it didn’t quite live up to them. The Bacon Cheese Smash Beef & Bone Burger was good, tasty and freshly made and the lattice fries were nice but the price was far too high. For a place that offers a dine in option, what we were presented with felt more like an expensive takeaway or fast food. The burger is very good however but with my friends trying the Currywurst, Weiner Schnitzel & Kebaps, the portion size does not reflect the price.
Jamie K — Google review
Came in today to try their signature dish Wiener Schnitzel, sat down with a pint, staff member came back 5 mins later, said we haven't had time to prep the Schnitzel..! What?? lol!! their most expensive dish on there menu! I asked for my money back, got refund, ... His couldn't care less attitude finished the experience off, as I finished my pint I looked around to say goodbye, thinking id get some sort of sorry for your experience today... but he was too busy chatting to his friend outside Poor Customer Service Poor availability of there most expensive dish Poor staff attitude Won't be returning, shame as I love German food and have travelled around Germany for over 30 years... Was excited to have a German restaurant in Hull... And it's failed on the first attempt I've added a pic of me drinking my pint while I waiting for my none existent food nicht gut!! 👎🏻

Vibey!!! Happy that it has Spaten on draft. Food actually tastes very good but bit sad to see a pretzel cut in half, especially considering the price.

Absolutely wonderful food. Amazing and super polite Staff. Would definitely recommend that people go give them a try and give their amazing milkshakes and Wurst a go.

Pitta & Shake is a restaurant that serves big portions of food at affordable prices. The restaurant has wraps, burgers, pittas, and a whole range of sweet treats including thick milkshakes. The music is unnecessarily loud, but the staff and party can still be heard over the noise. The food is great, and the take-home box for leftovers is a nice touch.
Seen quite a few negative reviews for this place so was a little bit skeptical, however we was not disappointed by the experience at all. The pulled pork fries were amazing and we were surprised by the portion for the price, the biscoff milkshake was also very good but I would say my partner's banana one was not as fancy for the same price so maybe they need to add some extra bits to the banana one? We waited about 20 mins altogether during a very busy time which we thought was decent, the app worked well and the staff were all very friendly and provided great table service. Hopefully a lot of the other issues I've seen people talking about are due to the place being new...Would come again!
Kay — Google review
Gorgeous food! Moderately expensive, but for an indie - and the sheer amount of food you get! - it's not to be sniffed at. Agree with many other reviewers that the music is unnecessarily loud - you can't hear the staff or your party over the noise, so next time will sit at the outdoor seating. Great food and shakes, though, and love that you can get a free take-home box for your leftovers rather than it going to waste!
K B — Google review
It’s always good to see an independent, new fast food restaurant open in the city and Pitta & Shake in St. Stephen’s is well worth a visit. Ordering a Smashed cheeseburger, a chicken & bacon pizza, fries, a pizza kids meal & a crunchie shake, we dined in and have to say we really enjoyed it. The pizzas were really good, as were the fries. While the burger tasted great is was small, even with added bacon and was not worth £6.45. The shakes are great but expensive at £5. The highlight and the best value was the kids meal. A pizza, fries and a superb chocolate shake, all for £5.45. If you have kids and are in St. Stephen’s, Pitta & Shake is the place to go. Give the burger a miss if you want something substantial to eat but the Pizzas, shakes & fries are fantastic.
Jamie K — Google review
Good things: pitta dough was very warm, fresh and tasty. Bad things: this is meant to be a fast food restaurant, similar to subway. It took them 32 MINUTES to bring us a PARTIAL order and that's only because I enquired about it. It took 39 minutes for the full order to arrive. The food did taste good but was very simple. The Halloumi pitta had plain halloumi dropped into the bottom of a plain pitta with a dollop of hummus on the top, with no mixing so first you end up eating plain bread and hummus, and then plain bread and halloumi. The shake machine has been not functional for over a week AT LEAST (because I rescheduled a visit to try the shake but the machine was still not working). I also tried ordering a salad bowl but it wasn't on the online ordering system, upon enquiring how I was supposed to order it, and was told I couldn't because they don't actually have them on their menu, EVEN THOUGH IT LITERALLY LISTED THEM AS AN ITEM ON THE MENU IN THE SHOP WINDOW. It was also quite expensive, the bill for 1 pitta, 1 dirty fries, 1 pizza, 1 pitta was approx £19.
Shanzeh K — Google review
Amazing food and really good service. Scan the website code and order what you want. Yes there is a wait but no more than I’d expect from somewhere really popular and busy on a Saturday in Aug. Good was delish and flame grilled, everything seasoned perfect. Had a desert too that I couldn’t finish so they wrapped it up to go for me. I see a few bad reviews about this place and I definitely think it’s just jealous locals who have it in for something new and ambitious during a pandemic. Keep up the great work and I’ll be back with the family. Yum

Should be embarrassed charging 6.50 for a burger that is smaller then a 99p hamburger at mc ds , heard good reviews decided to give it a try 🤣 its pathetic just look at the pic if ya need anymore proof to avoid, 6.50 lol I'd be embarrassed to take 3 quid of someone for this

Fish and chips takeaway
Fish restaurant
During a recent weekend getaway in Hull, I had the pleasure of visiting East Park Chippy, a delightful spot that caters to gluten-free diners. I indulged in their gluten-free fish and chips, complemented by some crispy onion rings—a rare treat for those avoiding gluten! My husband opted for a hearty sausage supper and even ventured into trying a Pattie Bite, which was an exciting surprise. East Park Chippy comes highly recommended by locals who rave about its quality.
Great size portions. Food is very tasty, one of the best chippys I've ever had. Great thing that they offer gluten free option. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Totally recommend.
Edyta D — Google review
East Park Chippy is an incredible chippy, serving some fabulous food. The mushy peas were the best I’ve had in Hull—thick and subtle in flavour, how I like them. The haddock was something special; you could taste the freshness. The batter was light, crispy, and delicious. The chips were nice too, though for me, I’d have liked them a little thicker, but that’s just a personal preference. The shop was clean and tidy, and the staff were well-presented and appeared very happy. Cooking in: Beef Dripping Hygiene Rating: 5 Cash or Card Fish Reviewed: Haddock Reviewed by The Chippy Tour

People kept telling me to Visit this chip shop as they think it’s the best in Hull and the Patties are amazing. The shop is clean, although the ordering/waiting area is a little Small (if you get a couple of big people stood there it will be very tight) The staff were excellent, Friendly and very chatty. It’s always nice when you are served by a happy member of staff. The food I ordered a large fish and chips curry sauce, Pattie, chips and mushy peas and a Pattie. The fish was big. The batter was crispy and good. Sadly the skin of the fish was left on. Now I don’t like the skin on my fish so it was a little bit of a let down. I was not told about the skin and can’t Recall seeing any signs saying they leave the skin on. The chips were first class, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and not a sign of grease. The curry sauce was fruity and I really enjoyed dipping my chips into the sauce. The patties were out of this world!! Soft big and thick a meal in it’s self. The taste was fantastic. Big portions and great service, Just a shame about the fish which I binned because of the skin (so I did not get to really experience)

Saw a food review of this place online. It didn’t disappoint! We went for the haddock and chips with their famous tatties and battered sausage. Served with curry sauce and gravy. As a Southerner, I had never had tatties before. They were unreal, they tasted like battered stuffing balls We were able to get a seat in the restaurant and served by the lovely Lou! She couldn’t do more to help us and gave us some tatties to take home and give the kids. If you’re up in Hull check it out! Great food and cheap 😊😊😊

Always enjoyed the food definitely one of the better chippy's this side of hull. I used the delivery service for the first time. Came within good timing sadly some of our order was missing. It's a busy shop so took about 5 mins to get through. Polite staff and handled really well. Although took longer for missing items then it did the actual order. Even though a part of the missing order was part of a meal only the actual item missing was replaced so rest of food was quite cold when it came to eating , and still missing an item off the special. Other then that we did enjoy the food.
Natalie H — Google review
Has to be the worst fish I’ve ever had it was paper thin and so dry not even the batter was eatable .

I've worked restaurants/bars long enough in the past and this is hands down the ultimate burger!!! More pics&updates to follow for sure! Hopefully the burger I order will make it to the menu, it's a right beast! 🍔🍔🍔🍔

Gem of a place! Family ordered a burger each plus a bucket of 20 wings which came with 2 fries. We also ordered a portion of large fries. All this came to less than £40 for a group of 5 adults! The burgers were delicious! They were meaty and generously topped. I had the Rocka Fella which had a crunchy hash brown on. They were extremely filling to the point of us hardly touching the fries or chicken. I would say these are the best value burgers I've ever had and won't hesitate to buy from or recommend this place. My only very small criticism is that the burger boxes should have an indication of which burger is inside.

Ordered a few times from here now. The food is of a very high quality. Every time I order from here I am amazed at how good the service is and how fantastic the quality of the food is. The food is always without fail piping hot when delivered. The delivery drivers attitude is always first class, friendly and happy. The fries are always crispy on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicken is always very tender and perfectly cooked. Now if you really want a treat try one of the gourmet burgers. WOW they are out of this world. We have had everything from popcorn chicken, pulled pork nachos to the different burgers. Every time it’s been perfect. My son loved the slushy drinks. I recommend this place for a really good quality takeaway. Please please please stay this good.

WOK&GO is a convenient option for those working in the city center who crave a quick, fresh lunch. The menu caters to various dietary preferences, offering gluten-free and vegan options prepared from scratch in minutes. Customers have praised the flavorful dishes such as Padthai and Mixed boxes, which are cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. Despite some cleanliness issues with outdoor seating mentioned by one visitor, others have commended the friendly staff and clean indoor dining area.
I love wok and go. Their spring rolls have some kinda crack in them that makes me just keep coming back. Without fail I get the combo box (no chicken or shrimp because I love pork and beef too much) n they’re always so sound as people and quick with the order. Love Krispy Kreme girl❤️ Edit : they have recently changed their spring rolls from the beautiful curry filled ones to slightly more generic ones but they’re still good all the same!

All three of the boxes we ordered were either flavourless or just tasted generically spicy. The only reasonable things were the prawns spring rolls and the prawns. It’s also shockingly loud given how small the store is.

very misnamed establishment. should be called wok-and-wait-20-minutes-for-mediochre-burnt-food! this wasn't a busy day, yet our food took 15 minutes to arrive with only 2 people in front of us. My hoisin duck box was incredibly burnt so I had to eat my boyfriend's.... we both tapped out after around 4 mouthfuls. Rubbish food and tense atmosphere with staff shouting every 2 minutes. Listen to the reviews!!!! £19 for 2 regular boxes is criminal.
Millie M — Google review
Always in Wok & Go, great place. Food is reasonably price and store kept clean. Only negative is some customers who think it should be the same service as a 5 star restaurant and have a superiority complex over the staff who work there.
Libbie — Google review
Ordered one hot box for delivery and I live about 15 mins away. Despite this my order time was predicted at around 30 mins (6:55pm estimate arrival) which then changed once the 30 minutes went to (7:15-7:30 estimated arrival), while there was a being prepared sign being shown through just eats, this then extended by another 30 minutes but didn’t have an estimate arrival, after that I then decided to call and check but did not get one answer from numerous attempts to get in touch. Currently 7:56pm and the app now says my food is being delivered and 16 mins away. Very pissed off and will be more so if the food is cold or not up to it’s normal standard. £19.60 for around 2 hours from when ordering to getting my food.
Daniel G — Google review
Shame to write this as usually I love wok&go, but I ordered £30 of food tonight for me and the wife, and when it was delivered I was handed a very small bag, when I opened I told the driver immediately this was the wrong order, he didn't care, he said that's what the restaurant gave me and walked off. The receipt on the bag was for Abbie (I'm not called Abbie) and was through deliveroo, when I used justeat. I was delivered one regular box when we ordered 2 large boxes, spring rolls and two drinks. I tried to call the restaurant 5 times and got no answer despite them still being open until 9 (food was delivered around 7pm). Awfully disappointed in this, a blatant mistake, justeat refusing to help, and then no answer from the shop.

Possibly the best lunch I have had for £4.99. I wasn’t expecting much from a bit of fish in a bun but this may be the best battered fish I have had. The batter was so light, almost like tempura. The fish tasted very fresh and was cooked to order. The sun was out so sat at there seating area in front. They clearly genuinely care about their produce and care about their customers. Next time I’m in Hull I will certainly be back. Thank you 😊

Oh, me, oh my... You don't know what you're missing of you over look that place. That's all I can say!!!! I mean.... For myself, it's one of the top fish and chips places in Hull, and not one person has said different that has come with me, though they didn't quite expect to enjoy it at times. The best part?! It's affordable. Pictures are of the fish special, and sausage special. We ate upstairs, sat down, in absolute comfort with no pretense, and chip spice!! Our first experience at GoldenFry was awesome! We tried the fish & chips based on a review we read after the location came up as one of the places for fish & chips close by. Their mushroom & onion gravy was so tasty. The fish was fresh and lightly crispy battered. Very friendly service. Thank you!

We asked a local where we could get some chips and were directed here. The advice was spot on as this was up with the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The fish was moist and tasty, the batter light and crispy and the chips perfectly cooked. We also got to experience the Hull 'chip spice'. It was very reasonably priced and the service was excellent.

We were recommended to visit The Golden Fry for fish and chips so we decided to give it a try because we had no idea if any were better or worse so a recommendation meant it was already ahead of the ones untried by others. We were not disappointed!! The fish and chips were excellent. We used the restaurant upstairs and the service was perfect and very friendly. The food was great (haddock and chips for each of us with drinks). The total bill was about £20 so very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place and I have no doubt we will be back.

Waited over 3 hours for food that didn't even turn up. Marked as delivered but no food here. Absolutely fuming. Won't be ordering here again. UPDATE, got in touch with the owner and they asked me to ring back in 5 minutes as they have a conversation with their staff to find out what had happened, tried to contact on multiple occasion to no avail. Put a refund request in and potentially a report.

Brilliant experience today normally I don't enjoy eating in the cafe but today I was helped alot by a very lovely lady called Denise, she was fantastic and her service was amazing she was very friendly and efficient

Fantastic breakfast at a great price, well cooked and well served, thank you. I'm deducting a star for Morrisons Management not putting enough staff on. The ladies who work there are clearly flat out, queues going around the corner and tables not cleared as the staff can't do 5 jobs at once even though they all appeared to be trying. Thank you ladies, without your hard work there would be no cafe.
Wayne B — Google review
Just had meal in this cafe. I ordered gammon egg chips and mushy peas. It was appalling, the gammon was like concrete I couldn't even cut it. When I finally did get a peice it was tasteless. The peas looked like it was the last out of the pan as there was a thick brown skin on it the chips were hard. My husband had scampi chips and peas. The peas and chips same as mine though the scampi was OK. Will not be returning.
Karan C — Google review
There where no forks available so asked a member of staff. She said they will put some through the machine. Our food came an so asked the lady again for forks. Waited another 5 mins so started to eat with just a knife! That was fun with beans!! We managed to eat most our food with said knife. Finished our meal with no forks and no apology or acknowledgement that we struggled to eat! All staff looked stressed and shouting across the restaurant about having to close down serving hot food for some reason.

Went 4th nov after been swimming with my 3 year old daughter, at around 3pm. went to order and they had no meals they supposed to do as there menu states. if they close at 6, why have they not got anything left at 3pm. there part of a supermarket. we left and went somewhere else, they lost out on money been spent there. it goes on about dine in and what did you get, and how much did you spend. you had nothing, so how are we going to eat there
Ian P — Google review
Dirty stained cups, cutlery not too clean either! No tomatoes for the full English breakfast( you are in a supermarket, there should be a policy where you can buy instore if you run out), although we were given an extra hash brown instead but it’s not the same at all! The rest of the breakfast was very nice but it does make you worry about the standards in the kitchen considering the state of the cups and cutlery. Not sure if we will return.

Fast food restaurant
Newton’s Traditional Fish & Chips is a popular spot in Withernsea known for its delicious fish and chips. Despite a minor mishap with the sauce, the food was top-notch, with perfectly cooked fish and crispy batter. The portions are generous, and the spam fritter is particularly amazing. Customers praise the friendly service and overall dining experience at this traditional chippy. While prices may be slightly higher than other places, the outstanding quality of the food makes it worth it.

Decided a change form our local pizza place and so glad we did... Best kebab we have had with a really nice chargrilled taste, tender juicy meat, crisps fresh salad, the kids meals are fantastic proper home made beef burgers and proper chicken in a bun, not that processed rubbish, chip had plant of seasoning on cheese pizza really good 👍 really enjoyed think this place is going to be our new takeaway for sure 😊

I've been here 3x now and two of them were disappointing, the food was cold and had no taste, I waited inside for my food and they said they would let me know when it's ready however, they didn't. It was just sat on top of this shelf getting cold. I did have a chicken kebab there and I enjoyed it after a night out.

Went in tonight, after waiting 10/15 mins to get served in a quiet shop with 3 customers. Then finally got served, by miserable staff. Who took our full order, not really sure why if I’m honest as she couldn’t keep up as we were missing stuff from the order! That we’ve paid for….. Clearly didn’t want to be there or listen - Our order consisted of two specials I asked for peas on-top of one as I like them all over they got splatted on a corner of my meal not all over I seen this as I asked to put the salt and vinegar on myself. They were dripping off the tray so I had to get my own forks off the side to try slide them back ontop. My other special was ordered with a tub of curry and I’d seen she’d got that wrong from two orders before overheard another staff ask what it’s for on the side and she said oh it’s spare, when leaving I realised the curry wasn’t in so I said we need a tub of curry with our meal and she actually tried giving me the tub what has been sat there, so I said something , said I wanted a fresh one not a cold one. Also got home and vinegar missing and been charged for the bottle, won’t be coming back.

Chopstick House has quickly become a favorite for many food enthusiasts, especially those who have explored various Chinese restaurants over the years. Located on Ings Road, this gem is known for its consistently delicious meals that leave diners satisfied every time. Although it doesn't offer delivery services—much to the chagrin of its loyal patrons—the bustling atmosphere and long queues on Saturday evenings are a testament to its popularity.
Massive portion sizes, the tubs are crammed full. All of it tastes amazing, especially the satay beef and fried rice!

The chopstick house is a traditional Chinese takeaway. The menu's Mostly the same as other Chinese takeaways in the area. I had the chicken chow mein, the chicken pieces were a bit on the big side and a bit bland, there was not as much sauce or vegetables as I've had at other Chinese takeaways. The food was ok but it's not as good as my favorite Chinese takeaway.

Ordered over £40 worth of food. Forgot 3 of the 4 sauces we ordered l. Hunters chicken burger was so dry and over cooked it was like rubber and inedible. Bacon pizza fries were dry and down right disgusting. Pulled pork pizza fries were dry and chewy and hard to swallow. Combo fries came with hardly any sweet potato fries. Only think on our order that came out alright was the 2 vegan dishes we got which are the only vegan dishes they offer. Would highly recommend they start doing a bit of quality control. They used to be amazing but every time we get from them now we are just disappointed. They have offered us a credit for next time we order for the hunters chicken burger but what good is that when we wont be ordering from them ever again
Claire N — Google review
Ordered a small amount of food at 3:40 in the afternoon directly from cushty kitchens website. Got immediate confirmation that I would take delivery within one hour but then received a further confirmation email at 4:04 to say I would take delivery within an hour. Called the store at 5:15 to see if/when food was likely to arrive and was told politely that the driver had already left the shop and had been travelling for 5 mins (I live 9 mins from the shop if there is heavy traffic). Eventually driver arrived at 5:40, apparently 30 mins after leaving the store. I was obviously concerned that my food had been travelling around for half an hour so asked him why it has taken so long. He said it had been less than 10 mins, blamed the shop staff for lying and that I’d been the only delivery he’d done on this run. So food is cold, soggy, and unbelievably substandard as well as having the wrong drink sent, but when I called the store to speak with a manager I was told by the girl on the phone that the driver had lied and had been out over half an hour with my food doing multiple deliveries and that it isn’t possible to speak to a person in charge and who carries responsibility because there simply isn’t anybody there who is in charge today!! Hands down the worst £25 ever spent on a burger and a bit of chicken and I cannot recommend enough going ANYWHERE else but here.
Dan H — Google review
Waited 1hr 50 after ordering for Food to arrive called twice to chase, women on phone had no idea where food was, needless to say it wasn't warm in the slightest. Had to microwave it to make it eatable. Portions of fries and size of kebab honestly thought they must of shrunk in the microwave was that tiny. Not a patch on our usual Gadgie takeaway on Anlaby Road. Won't be ordering from here again. Even our 9 year old lad said it was tasteless.
Mark A — Google review
Really disappointed with this order and far too tired to complain, not waiting another hour for cold food to arrive. 1. We ordered cheddar on the hotdog and arrived was a white, tasteless cheese that was freezing cold with dried oregano everywhere. Yuck. 2. "Salt and pepper fries" with soggy chips and a mushy, horrendous tasting pile of onions literally thrown on top. Never had any like this in any restaurant or takeaway before. 3. Two wraps that had no sauce and literally a chicken breast diced up. Also looked like children had put it together. 4. Sour tasting, vile coleslaw with water at the bottom of the tub? Overall a VERY dry order, not a single sauce in sight and all 5 of us were disappointed (and hungry afterwards)
Legion — Google review
Recently had 1 of the cushty share boxes with the 2 chicken gyros, pizza slices etc. Order said it would arrive in an hour but was only 45mins, food was great when it came, and we recieved a full pizza instead of 2 slices as stated on the menu. Really happy with the experience, will try again.
Dave Y — Google review
Took 1 hour 45 mins to come. Cancelled order for it then to turn up 5 mins later so we gave it a go and wished we hadn't, chips were cold and some hard in middle and burgers wasn't much good either. £19 down drain.

Has been a while since I had been here. Don't know what has happened since then. Maybe under new management? The food was mediocre and over priced in my opinion. Added to that the attempt to short change me by a £1. I will definitely avoid in the future.

Seems they are always in a rush to shut the shop well before the advertised closing times. Also takes a long time to be served. Must have been waiting half an hour on my last visit . Wanted to go but unfortunately had to wait as I had already ordered. Eventually got fish and chips. Fish was OK but chips were small hard scraps which mostly went in the bin . Not worth the wait or the £3.90 I paid.

Been to Chicken George a couple of times now, have to say that the food was delicious both times. Didn't realise they have more than chicken, e.g. Beef Burgers (never had a beef burger with a hash brown on before!). The food is served pretty quickly and arrives hot and stays hot while you're eating. Chips for example stay warm long enough to eat them warm. The portions are quite big and I think overall for a meal reasonably priced. The wrap I had today was actually huge and very tasty.
Jenny M — Google review
We just had an order from here and I have to say I regret it. We only got 3pc chicken and chips and 2 milkshakes. First time users of chicken George. The chicken tasted off and had a rubbery texture. The chips where hollow and seemed like they had been fried multiple times in order to heat them up. The milkshakes we got tasted like they should but where only a 3rd of the way filled, another 3rd was foam the rest was squirty cream. If I could give less then 1 star I would.
Steven R — Google review
Got our order wrong and then when we rang up tried to say that we got what we ordered. They hen had to check the bill and it turns out we didn’t get what we ordered. Rather than asking them to send out the delivery guy for a few missed chicken pieces that we paid for! We accepted their offer that we would get it with our next order. When we went to claim this, the guy we spoke to said he was the ‘new owner’. Very disappointed with this service and I don’t believe for a second that chicken George has a new owner working in the shop on Holderness Road.

I love chicken George normally and never have a problem but for the staff to leave me standing there over 10 minutes to get served for them to allow someone who came in after me to get served first is a joke. First come first serve is the general rule in business I believe!

Ordered for first time tonight. Food was fresh and hot, and portion size was brilliant. Doubt there's better value for money anywhere than offer 9.

Thought we would give Crystal a try tonight, as we've tried a few kebab takeaways. I have to say it's the absolute best around here,. Delivery was quick, food was hot. The food was delicious, will be ordering again soon... Thankyou Crystal 👍

Just had a chicken kebab(v.healthy) and chips, it was really good. Very well presented, hot and tasty. Over the past few weeks we have tried other takeaways after ours closed, and this has been the best. I ordered it at 6.35pm and said I would like it asap, they said it would be about 30 mins, it actually came early by 5-10mins. Thanks

Peppino's is a popular spot under new management, impressing customers with its food and service. The menu offers tempting options like feta cheese as an extra topping, with staff providing helpful advice on pairing it with the right pizza. The pricing is reasonable for the high-quality pizzas offered. Known for swift delivery and competitive prices, Peppino's is a reliable choice for late-night cravings. Customers appreciate the delicious and hot food along with the friendly service provided by the staff.
I ve been order some pizza and spicy wings, pizza was good .. but the spicy was all burn , can't eat them all all , I put them all in the bin

Awful experience. I ordered 1/2 roasted chicken and chips. Got a fried chicken instead. I returned to complain and they gaslit me, saying m that the chicken was roasted before it got fried. Already upset, I returned to eat it, only to find out that the chicken was unseasoned. Hands down my worst food experience in years.
Ifeanyi O — Google review
Ordered 3 times now and 2 out of the 3 times its been ridiculoisly late. The food itself is great but the customer service interaction is very poor, I rang the takeaway over 1 hour later for an update, to be told the food left 3 minutes ago. 40 minutes later and 2 hours in total from placing the order the food arrived cold so I rang up and complained to be told the manager would ring within 20 minutes and they never did.
Gavin B — Google review
ordered was a 2 hour wait, there staff was ending the phone whilst I was asking how long, the food then came cold 2 chicken strips not cooked.could of got samanola of that good job I didn’t eat it.would not recommend!

Awful place! I ordered and was told 1 hour wait, It had been an hour and 20 minutes so I rang and they told me 5 minutes. 20 minutes later and still no food so rang again and they told me they sent it out 10 minutes ago and should be 2 minutes. 15 minutes later and still no food so I rang again and the man on the phone was very rude and disrespectful. Food arrived 20 minutes after that phone call, very cold and soggy. Not happy with this experience, they didn’t offer a refund or a replacement. Will not be returning and do not recommend to anyone.
Leah — Google review
Like this place it does nice food, but theyve gotten the order wrong a few times! Paying for one type of Pizza and not getting what it states is on it, and getting kids meals but no drink or lolly with them as stated on the menu...instead getting sent pepsi cans. No1 likes pepsi and my children arent been given it either. Also, ive noticed just latley its closing very early or not open at all. I dont know if this is because of the discount they have on and theyre stopping too many taking advantage, I dont know...but ive gone to place and order and its closed at 3.50pm!
A — Google review
Missed a pizza off our order, called and said they would send a replacement. Waiting an hour and 40mins for the replacement- Come on this is a joke!!!! Our original order has now gone cold whilst waiting for our childs pizza. Will never order from here again - avoid at all costs!
Kirstie U — Google review
Delivery driver turned up to my door holding my takeaway whilst smoking!! I found this very unprofessional… when unboxing the food I noticed the donner meat portion was poor considering it was supposed to be a medium size also tasted very bland and flavourless may I add! Other then this I guess the rest of the food wasn’t too bad

If you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast/sandwich, then Mr. T's Hot and Cold Sandwiches is the perfect place. The food is delicious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It's also reasonably priced, making it an excellent choice for budget-minded travellers.
The butties from here are great, reasonably priced and made in no time at all. The place is spotless but the best thing is the warm welcome from the staff very nice ladies and really efficient, would recommend. I would go more often if I worked nearer there.

Just popped in there first time and I'm pleasantly surprised.. lovely staff, clean and the food is lovely .. all fresh including scones Mmm lovely .. good prices too 👍🙂

I have had quite a few different sandwiches both hot and cold, every one has been good, and the home made quiche is very nice, nothing like the poor imitation you can buy at a supermarket, the staff are friendly and the value for money is excellent, I would definitely recommend Mr T's to anyone in the area.

Nice little buttie shop. Usually pop.and get me a sandwich on way to work. Lovely fresh cooked food. Nice selection of pastry and sweets. Very good prices and Staff always friendly and good for a natter.

First off let me start by saying im a truck driver so travel a lot and i see a whole bunch of sandwich shops and butty bars. But this place.... words cant describe how amazing their food is. Ordered a item not on the menu (Breakfast Burger, Normal burger but with Cheese, Egg and Bacon) and holy smokes did they Deliver! Tasted absolutely divine! Not to mention it was HUGE! Really cheaply priced too so no complaints at all! Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall 5/5. Amazing Food Amazing Staff Amazing Prices

This is the smallest mixed kebab I've ever had, no chips with it and over £16 is daylight robbery. I wouldn't mind so much if it had arrived hot but it was barely warm. I left it as I don't like luke warm food. Non of us were impressed and there were 6 of us. Food arrived in good time though
Cheryl C — Google review
Used this place for years and loved it, it's gone downhill. Ordered tonight , Donner Pizza had about 3 pieces of meat on it. Calzone also hardly any filling.Barely warm. Chips overcooked, crunchy , Hallow and again only just warm. Very dissatisfied
Samantha S — Google review
Very poor again!! Ordered for delivery and was told 35mins. 1hr 25mins later finally came after several calls to as why. Told each time a different excuse. Finally came and wow!! Worth the wait….NOT!!! Food freezing cold, chips burnt hard and crispy, nuggets hard and cold, burgers with no salad and “dollops” of sauce. Joke!! Shame as used to always get from here but gone down hill. Ps don’t want a generic “thanks for message see you again” as not good enough or enough to hear!!
Martin W — Google review
Give this place a a number of chances after messing our order up last time! Food arrived and wrong AGAIN! Ordered a donnor meat pizza with next to no donner meat on it! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ second order arrived after complaining about 2 of the 4 pizzas and arrived exactly the same! 😱🤦🏼‍♀️ shame as I work in the salon next door so is very handy for me but each time they are very late on delivery and the order is always wrong and mediocre food!

Shocking food order donner kebab, the pitta bread is soaked in grease off the meat. It's drenched in garlic sauce the salad is days old. Just gross

Always used this place but never again. Just spent 13 80 and the lots in the bin. Chicken was dry and burnt. chips was rock hard . Both been warmed up because the coating on the chicken was hard to bite through

WHAT THE HELL… THE WORST Kebab shop in England, got my kebab and walked 2 minutes and opened and it was stone cold and has been for a while, the chilli sauce is horrendous is just watered down to the point it’s chilli water… I eat all over the country and this is by far the WORST KEBAB EVER!!!🤮
Akaday — Google review
ordered a pizza + chips for delivery after work on Saturday night. was told 30 mins which was fine, pizza turned up after well over 45 mins and was basically inedible. chips were dried out, shrivelled up and absolutley clap cold - had obviously been out of the heat for a very long time. pizza toppings were burnt to a crisp and we're dry and hard, again the pizza was clap cold. definitely cant / won't recommend and certainly won't go again. total waste of time and money
Dan S — Google review
Ordered from here a couple of times and yeah, it's a bit more expensive than other places but the food is nice. My issue isn't with the food but waiting 45 minutes for a pizza to be delivered barely room temperature when I live less than half a mile away is a bit aggravating. 3rd time pizza has been delivered cold.

Amazing. Me and my family were off to head home but we were quite hungry and decided to stop at this place to order from. It didn’t take long for them to complete our order and we received the food will the mouth-watering smell of food. When we got home, we were amazed. Food was absolutely delicious. We have now went many times. The delivery is also great too. When we ordered online, we had many choices to choose from and the website was very informative so we didn’t need to worry about our specific orders. Once we finished our order, we submitted and waited. The food came 30 minutes early in perfect condition with no errors in our request whatsoever. Me and my family will continue to visit this place every now again until we move out of Hull. Thank you!

Not a bad takeaway however really not enough seating. If you get them at a quiet time, the food is actually quite good. When they're busy, food standards definitely seem to slip. Mixed bag unfortunately with this place.

I've been ordering from Chicken George on and off for a while now. The mayo is delicious, and the half-pound chicken burger is always on point. My only complaint is that while the small chips are always lovely and warm, the large chips tend to be less warm, which might be due to the packaging. But definitely recommend this spot
James W — Google review
Ridiculously rude service and charged me £15.50 for cheesy chips even though it said £3.50 on the menu. I was so shocked at how he was rushing me to order and didn’t make eye contact.l and was so dismissive. I’m really pissed off that I actually paid this guy. Please never go here.
Indya C — Google review
What an absolute joke of a takeaway. Used to actually be alright a few years ago, but it's gone all the way down now. We ordered through UE and were given a delivery time, the order arrived an hour later and when we rang to chase we were given the run around. To add injury to insult, when the food finally arrived it was inedible! The garlic sauce was off, chicken was dry and the "cheese" burger didn't have any cheese, salad or sauce. The whole meal was a disaster that just belonged in the bin. As if that wasn't bad enough, some of our order was missing and they denied it when we rang them! The audacity!!! I'll never order from here again! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! You've been warmed...
Paul A — Google review
chips is re-fried, over cooked. not fresh chips, chips is hard, dry. no fresh foods. Greasy wings. Paid for nothing,1 bite and end up putting in the bin. Waste of money. won’t return.

Good tasting food but not paying £3.50 for a tiny chip and cheese wrap and £2.20 for a cold apple pie I wouldn't pay £1.20 for never ever again I was giving them a good chance but never again

Benedicts offers a delightful variety of hot and cold food and drinks, including homemade sausage rolls that are highly recommended. The menu features specials like the New Yorker steak with caramelized onions, as well as standard sandwich options in various bread choices and salad boxes. Customers rave about the unique wrap sandwich filled with cheese, beef, egg, peanut butter, and salad cream.
The best ever wrap sandwich: cheese, beef, egg, peanut butter & salad cream in a wrap. The taste is amazing. Thanks to the wonderful people for doing it, they have amazing sausage rolls that fill you up as they are packed up with delicious tastes.
Dave M — Google review
The toasties and sausages rolls are amazing, I've been 5 times now, and tried something new every time. I tried the cookie yesterday too, which was lovely. The guys are friendly and prices are reasonable. My only negative would be the wait time, each time has taken 15-20 minutes to be served and food ready, I appreciate it's fresh, and I only come when I know I have a little extra time, but if it was a little quicker, I'd come more often. Overall, a lovely place for a bite to eat.
Amy C — Google review
Really great sandwich shop, with quick friendly service. I've been in a few times before realised that I've not left a review yet. If you're looking for a breakfast or lunch snack then do yourself a favour and cross the road from Lidl or Sainsbury, and treat yourself to a proper sandwich (or one of their great sausage rolls)!
David M — Google review
Lovely range of hot and cold food and drinks, although I didn't get them the home made sausage rolls looked belting, defo try next time especially the chilli or jalapeño ones. Loads of specials(i had the New Yorker steak and caramelised onions) daughter had a hot pannini , do all standard sandwich types in a range of bread options plus salad boxes

Iv been for a takeaway a few times and get beef curry and king prawns sweet and sour, they usually make a nice meal. But tonight the curry and sweet and sour was very very watery and had no taste. My girlfriend said was OK but watery too. But the people are great and it may just be a one off so please do still go and try a take away.

Excellent food here last night. We called in and ordered in the shop. They were busy with a large order and the wait was quite long. The staff offered us both a can of Pepsi while we waited. We politely declined as neither of drink pop. When we got home with the order we found a load of addition items along with our set meal for two. Turned an already generous meal into a feast. What stunning service.
