Restaurant
Located in Humber Street, Nibble is a popular eatery known for its top-ranking breakfasts and delightful atmosphere. The menu offers interesting twists on traditional breakfast items, as well as a wonderful selection of cakes. In addition to breakfast, the restaurant serves sandwiches, wraps, and various mains. Customers can also enjoy sweet treats like the classic Bakewell Slice. The vibrant ambiance and attentive staff make Nibble a lovely place to dine and socialize in Hull and East Yorkshire.
I love Nibble! The best sandwiches and breakfasts! The food quality is amazing and the portion sizes are really good for the price! It can get busy, I often go on a Sat lunch and expect to have my name on the list for a table for a while. It's worth the wait though!
Kathryn — Google review
Nibble is so lovely. I went with my daughter and my baby boy who is still in a pram and I asked if they had room for a pram. They said about 15 minutes and we didn’t even end up waiting that long. I was then helped with getting my pram next to a table and felt really well looked after. Myself and my daughter both ordered sandwiches and they were delicious!! Good value and amazing customer service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.
Julia — Google review
Not a clue how the inside looks as we sat outside. QR codes on each table make it easy to order without having to wait to be spotted by a staff member. Saying that- there was quite a few of them visible and available and extremely polite when/if anyone needed assistance so that’s a huge plus. Food was nice, maybe a tad pricey for breakfast place but very tasty
Malwina W — Google review
Love this place! It's popular for a reason. Great food, fast service and lovely staff who genuinely seem to enjoy their work. I generally enjoy a breakfast here when I see friends who bring their dog for a marina walk and being dog friendly, it never dissapoints. I also took a nosy at the nearby newer deli and takeaway cafe 'Next Door' by Nibble, and that too was busy and the deli food looked delicious. Hopefully they will never change their perfect customer focus and delicious menus - its so nice to find reliabilty these days.

Great staff and even better food. The eggs on sour dough are phenomenal, the best👍Also, great selection of seating outside on those nicer days. Well done nibble very impressed.

The Artisan Coffee & Art, located on Newland Avenue in Hull, is a charming and delightful café that offers a perfect spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks while watching the bustling street. The menu includes a variety of hot drinks, sweet treats, breakfast items, and lunch options at reasonable prices. They also cater to dietary needs with gluten-free and vegan cake options as well as savory dishes like quiches.
Absolutely amazing experience. The staff were very cheery and funny, and the prices are reasonable considering other cafes around the area. The atmosphere is amazing with tons of art that can be bought. The quirky tea cosies are hilarious, one even had a fox on it. The cakes were divine and quite rich. Definitely will drop by again as it was absolutely delicious. Considering I'm not vegan, the BLT was fantastic.

Lovely cosy little cafe, adore the window displays as it gives the place such character. Lovely selection of coffee and sweet treats. Really enjoy that they display works from local artists.
Sarah L — Google review
Absolutely lovely little cafe & coffee shop! I adore The Artisan, and am so gutted to hear it's going to be closing over the next month. It's shops like these that really make our community here in the Avenues part of Hull feel like a close-knit family. Not only do they have some of the yummiest, freshest baked goods (their lemon cake is to die for!), and the best cups of coffee & tea, but they also help support local artists & artisans by selling local artwork and handcrafted items by them! I wish more homegrown local shops & cafes did that! It's a very unique spot with a warm, friendly atmosphere with a vast array of fun artwork decorated on their walls. By far one of my favorite spots on the Avenues. Anytime I know I'm heading towards Newland Ave, I make a stop here- and you should too, before their doors close permanently in May! xxx

We had our wedding meal at The Artisan and couldn't have been happier. We chose the Artisan as we wanted somewhere that did great food and drinks - but was also intimate with a lovely, romantic atmosphere. Emma went above and beyond to make sure we were happy - and the afternoon tea was absolutely perfect. We visit this amazing cafe regularly and could not recommend it highly enough. Patrick and Hollie

Beautiful little coffee shop, so many fresh products too try, I tried the delicious elderflower garden lemonade and it was honestly the best drink I've had in a while 😍 I also had the bacon, cheese and tomatoe chutney sandwich which I was so excited to eat I forgot the photo!!! Defintley worth the visit!!!

Really pleasant atmosphere, staff are very accommodating and the prices are very reasonable. Good place to socialise with friends over a light bite and a coffee

Fantastic friendly service, really feel welcome and relaxed in here, the coffee is immense, the savoury food is truly incredible and the cakes have to be the best in hull! Will definitely go again ☺️

Vegans and vegetarians, tell your friends, a CHOICE of delicious cakes made without using animal products. If you love independent artists there is loads of fab art up on the walls and available to purchase, and some quirky Little gift ideas too.

Bakery
Tucked away on the lively Humber Street in Hull's historic Fruit Market district, Flour & Feast is a delightful rustic bakery that captures the essence of artisanal baking. This charming spot offers an array of delectable treats, from savory sandwiches and sausage rolls to mouthwatering doughnuts and cakes, all crafted with care using locally sourced ingredients. The bakery’s commitment to quality shines through its diverse menu, which features everything from fresh bread and pastries to unique vegan options like kimchi delights.
Visited this bakery/cafe a couple of times. Food is excellent. The only issue there is always a queue to sit down, but that's because it's so good
Valerie R — Google review
Well there you go, apparently I do give 5 stars occasionally. What a wonderful place and a real find. Excellent coffee, sensational food and good vibe to it. Ok it is a little pricy for your every day coffee and snack, but much better quality than Starbucks or Costa etc. Hull has finally gone hipster... very well done.
Scott ( — Google review
The cosiest venue with the friendliest team! The baked goods are completely out of this world, delicious! The ambiance is so cheerful and chill. Everything is baked fresh on site. I can recommend the croissants - they have the most amazing crunch. The danishes are all well thought through flavours and the pumpkin pie with whipped meringue is sensational. The vegan cinnamon buns are delish. Basically we’ve never had anything we didn’t like. Plus the coffee (and tea) is awesome. Do yourself a favour and pick up fresh bread while you’re there 🍞 Two thumbs up, no notes. A thing of beauty. You won’t regret a visit to Flour & Feast 🤩☕️🥐🥖🍰

Fantastic cafe serving absolutely killer flat whites, and next level cakes. Its all baked in house and the selection is incredible. If the orange cruffin is the last thing I ever get to eat, I'd be ok with that.
Ben H — Google review
The focaccia sandwiches here have me in a chokehold 🤤🫶🏼 They're incredible!! As are the staff and the coffees and the bakes they serve our fresh daily. Such a beautiful little spot to sit and enjoy food or coffee and watch the world go by. A favourite of mine for sure!
Lois B — Google review
Love the place! We had beautiful velvety coffee lattes with a delicious pumpkin pie. It is dog friendly and even my dogs had a yummy treat! Vibrant atmosphere with very friendly staff. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏 💯
Dolores M — Google review
it’s the sweetest bakery with so many options. the staff are so friendly and welcoming. i love their coffees and their pastries are perfect, they don’t underestimate the power of some flaky salt. my personal favourite pastry is the carrot cake danish or hazelnut pain au chocolate. i’ve tried some of their gluten free options such as the brownie and they’re also perfect.
Kiana — Google review
I’m not sure if I made the wrong selection at the till but I wasn’t impressed. I ordered the pear and chocolate doughnut (vegan). It was small, oily and covered in sugar. The chocolate inside was decent but it begs the question how nice it actually is if it needs to be covered in granulated sugar. The iced tea was fine. I initially thought it was made in house so was disappointed when the bottle came out. The staff were nice and the interior and atmosphere were great. Probably wouldn’t be back for the vegan pastries (there were only two options)

Wow, the best afternoon tea in Hull! Booked following google reviews as a suprise for my mums birthday and seriously did not disappoint. Fabulous board of sarnies, scones and cakes washed down with fantastic cocktails. Decor was lovely, staff were great too and was good value for money.

Had daughter in laws baby shower here, had a wonderful few hours. All the ladies had afternoon tea, which went down a treat. Food was very tasty. Would recommend having a baby shower here.
Sioux W — Google review
Lovely tea room filling a niche in Hull. Both the interior and exterior of cafe are very attractive and create a lovely and cosy atmosphere. The cake is a bit too sweet for my taste but the scones and cream are fantastic. The afternoon tea for one is very generous with the portions however the teapots are a little difficult with spillages. Service is good and i would definitely go again when meeting with friends!
Sadhia C — Google review
We had a table of 7 for afternoon tea and it was absolutely delightful, the food was amazing and the decor inside is beautiful. The cocktails are gorgeous and everything is decorated with little flowers. Will definitely be back!
Molly S — Google review
This isn’t just a café — it’s a full-blown sugar-coated daydream where calories stop counting. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with the kind of pastel prettiness that could turn even the grumpiest soul into a cupcake enthusiast. Lets talk food — because Sweet Little Things doesn’t mess around. The sandwiches are dainty but satisfying, and the cakes… well, let’s just say they could start diplomatic negotiations. Service? Spot on. The staff strike that perfect balance between friendly and not-too-familiar, topping up your tea before you even realise you’ve drained your cup. And for the price, it’s an absolute steal — especially considering you’ll leave full, happy, and probably planning your next visit before you’ve even hit the door. In short: Sweet Little Things lives up to its name in every way. It’s sweet, it’s little, and it’s an absolute thing of joy. ⭐ Verdict: 10/10. Come hungry, bring friends, and don’t pretend you’re “just having one slice.”
Lisa T — Google review
The atmosphere of the cafe is wonderful, but the real stars were the cappuccino and cake. The cappuccino was smooth and creamy, and the cake was a little slice of heaven. I'll definitely be back for more! 😍😋

My mum loves an afternoon tea but sadly as she’s bed bound I can’t bring her into the shop, so got a home delivery instead. I certainly was not expecting the sheer size or quality of this afternoon tea. For the cost you get such high quality and such a lovely choice, even the presentation was lovely. I’ll defo be ordering again, what a brilliant shop

Absolutely Top Class! What a gem of a cafe this place is! Staff will welcome you and the service is superb! I had the Full English Breakfast (served on an extra large plate) and a pot of tea! The best in the Hull area! It was ready in under 10 minutes and the whole place was full. A mark of an efficient team front and back! Exceptionally clean and well decorated, this cafe is perfect! The “quiche of the day” looked like a TV Chef had made it. 👌🏻 Thank you 🙏🏻!!! I will be back for the quiche!

Just called in yesterday as was in Hessle for an hour and feeling a little peckish. I ordered a flat white and a Bramley Apple Pie. A true gem of a cafe. Very friendly staff with a welcoming atmosphere, the food quality has always been top notch & very reasonably priced. Recently visited the newly opened up Dog n’ Cone Ice Cream Parlour next door (ran by the same people as The Black Cat), and this can only be highly recommended as well, with a varied choice of ice creams, very reasonably priced & of excellent quality. Brilliant cafe to visit for a bit of class. My wife and her mum visit often and rave about it so when I was in town, I took my daughter. Now she has been several times and said it's so popular, you will habe to wit for a table at lunchtime. We were there at 3pm so quite a few tables available. They have a very nice menu with toasties, panninis, jackets and salads etc. All around the £6 mark. It's all freshly made to order and very fine indeed. I had a chicken, bacon and cheese baggett which came with salad and my daughter had a tuna and cheese one. Someone had a jacket and it was huge with masdive toppings. Coffee is also available in a cafetiere which hold 1.5 cups and for £2.70, good value. They have 3 strengths. Now, their home made cakes ate just ain amazing. We had 3 portions of carrot cake and at £2.50 per slice, for the dize and quality, perfect. Absolutely fab. Lovely staff too. Clean toilets just up a short stair case. A perfect lunch. All in all 25 quid. Visit this place and keep a quality independent cafe on the map.

Recently decided to go vegan with my wife and decided to try out the local vegan cafe. The staff were incredibly helpful, offering valuable advice for newcomers like us. Amazing Place, great decor and fab food, we went miles out of the way and it didn't disappoint We were travelling from N Yorks to Lincolnshire and decided we could pop in to Cottingham for this place, it was epic! I'm not a breakfast person but I was in love with their bagel, omellete, sausage, hashbrown, beans and cheese!!! My partner got a homemade beetburger with extra hash browns- it all tasted amazing, the tables are fab, its nice and roomy upstairs and they have a great selection in their shop- we picked up some violife extra mature and could have easily got lots more! We even stayed a while in the village so we could have their amazing dessert and milkshakes-divine! if we are ever in the area we will definetly return as it was a great experience. A SUPER FINE example of a vegan cafe!!!!

A lovely little, totally vegan cafe tucked away in a small place that is Cottingham. The food is lovely, with good sized portions (we were stuffed) and there are lots of lovely vegan things for sale in there, as well as some great things for dogs too. Dogs are very welcome with their human companions, which is also fabulous. We'll definitely visit again. Photos of choc mint freak shake and oreo hot chocolate 😋

Lovely staff woth a nice friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious!

We went for afternoon tea and the staff were nice, the place is nice, I wouldn’t have picked here as I like to go out in the countryside for afternoon tea but mums choice for Mother’s Day. We got 4 little sandwiches and that was enough but a tiny square of quiche nothing else savoury and the buns and scones were tiny, even though there was a selection. Wherever I have been we get 2 servings on one tiered plate but here we got all 3! 2 signature and 1 traditional and couldn’t tell what which was which! It’s not expensive but to fill a tires plate with 3 afternoon teas and have a lot of space and costs £39 I think it was disappointing.

Really nice place where you can sit and chat and enjoy what was a very nice coffee. Much better than the big chain stores

HU6 Walking Group have regularly booked a table at Dancing Goat because of its popularity, we have turned up just for drinks and their hasn't been a table available for us, but the staff have shuffled tables and chairs around and made us feel very welcomed and no trouble at all. So, when we have agreed to eat here, we know because we are a group of around 12 people, we had better book in advance in order for the staff to arrange a space to accommodate us. The food as always is and has been faultless, so on behalf of our group, would unreservedly recommend a visit to Dancing Goat, to sample the food, drinks and hospitality. Keep up the great work.

Had a fabulous lunch here today. Such a lovely warm welcome by staff very friendly and passionate about what they do. Great tasting hot and fresh food followed by wonderful home made cakes. Value for money is exceptional cannot wait to return with family and friends

We recently ordered the deluxe buffet for a friend’s birthday. It was fantastic! A lovely variety of sandwiches, scotch eggs, crisps and salads. Quite tasty and a great value for the money.

Bakery
Nestled just a stone's throw from the charming market town center of Beverley, 42nd East Bakehouse stands out as a modern and inviting bakery that pushes the boundaries of creativity. This delightful eatery specializes in an array of mouthwatering treats, ensuring there's something for everyone.
I really love this place for its amazing coffee and food, I really love coming here to buy coffee and I especially want to note the staff, they are always happy to see you, they are always ready to help with your order and they are a very good team

Coffee was nice but food overpriced and not much choice. No real veggy option so I just ordered an avocado on toast, it looked alright when it arrived but I noticed a funny smell like Nail varnish remover and when I cut into it the avo was all brown lumps inside… I couldn’t eat it, I didn’t have time to kick up a fuss, so I just got myself out of there. I don’t think this place will last very long to be honest. I’ve include photo of menu so you can see the prices but £4.25 for toast is a bit ridiculous?! It’s not Paris… it’s not over looking the waterways in Venice… it’s Hull city centre! be realistic.

AVOID The shop was very quiet I ordered 2 drinks and a cookie . It took around half a hour for the Drinks to be prepared the staff where to busy giggling and messing around. While waiting I started to notice how unhygienic it looked behind the counter and the floor was damaged etc. As the drinks arrived I saw a member off staff vaping in the kitchen safe to say we did not touch our order and asked for a refund and left. When a member off staff told them we wanted a refund they seemed to think it was funny.

First visit, and it was fairly quiet when we arrived around 10-11am. My partner and I both ordered the Nutella & Banana pancakes. The décor was nice, though the seating arrangements could be improved slightly. Some seats felt too low, making it awkward to eat comfortably, while others had tables positioned too low, leaving us hunched over. The food was enjoyable, though a bit on the sickly side. However, I had to ask for water three times before finally receiving it, and when it arrived, the cup was dirty with stains and lipstick marks. Overall, it's a nice place with decent food, but I wouldn’t be in a rush to return.

The food and coffee were both alright, if a bit sickly in the case of the food, but the service was quite poor. The staff were not very welcoming or friendly, and I also noticed one of the staff members quickly smoking an e-cig and wafting off the smoke in the doorway of what I think is the room where the food is prepared.

Unfortunately I didn’t take a photo or keep a piece of the cake to give to environmental health but it was a Sunday and didn’t have much time to take back as I live outside of Hull The Oreo cake was solid, like a brick. Never known anything like it. The assistant must surely have known when she wrapped it. The croissant with filling was ok. Unfortunately I tried the cake as I thought maybe it wasn’t supposed to be like a biscuit but it was completely stale. I took back and the assistant just said, oh.. I think she was surprised too. Not sure how they could have left it like that unless they just leave on display and refill and that piece kept getting missed. I got a refund for the cake. Definitely puts me off ever going back again.

Visited recently , the place was very dead with little to no atmosphere. I sat down for a coffee and a brownie and could clearly tell the small brunette girl who was my waitress didn’t want to be there, had a very dull attitude and was quite frankly miserable! Staff need cheering up

the two baristas were soo lovely and sweet, my coffee and food was delicious. and the cafe is super cute , the music was bum but like it was still a great spot to have brunch

Takeout Restaurant
Next Door @ The Dock is a delightful culinary gem located on Humber Street, serving as the perfect companion to its sister establishment, Nibbles. This spacious and contemporary eatery offers an extensive menu that caters to all tastes, featuring everything from expertly brewed coffee to deli-style sandwiches. One of the highlights here is their impressive selection of baked goods; you simply can't miss out on their delectable treats like Bakewell slices, fruit cake—ideal for pairing with tea—vanilla slices, and rich brownies.
Great little takeaway away with lovely salads, sandwiches and cakes. Also very friendly staff.

A nice little spot at the end of Humber Street. A range of salad ingredients, flavours and traybake desserts. Nice and friendly staff and very clean and tidy. However upon eating my KitKat Tiffin, it appeared a piece of red plastic was inside it. Thankfully I didn't swallow the random texture in my mouth and was able to put it to the side. Only downside to this very enjoyable experience

So many vegetarian and vegan options. The salad bar is incredible.
