We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Manila for an early birthday celebration for my wife, and from the moment we drove in, everything just felt smooth and well-orchestrated. Parking was easy — no fumbling around or long waits — and as soon as we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by that unmistakable Grand Hyatt scent: a mix of something floral and woody that instantly makes you feel you’re somewhere elegant. The high ceilings, the soft music, and the clinking of teacups from the mezzanine lounge above set a really relaxing tone.
Check-in took less than five minutes, and before we knew it, we were heading up to the 51st floor. Our room was impressively spacious and tastefully done — muted tones, modern art by the door, and a view that was both breathtaking and oddly humbling (you see the glittering skyline on one side, and the less polished part of the city on the other). The bathroom was a highlight: double sinks, a deep soaking tub, and Balmain toiletries that smelled divine.
The staff went out of their way to surprise my wife with a small birthday cake and even a “cake” made of neatly folded towels — such a sweet touch. My son couldn’t stop grinning. Breakfast the next morning was exceptional; the Indian section in particular stood out — fragrant curries, fluffy naan, and perfectly spiced chutneys.
Checkout was as effortless as check-in. Overall, it was a warm, polished experience — grand yet personal. We left already talking about when we’d come back.
I had two three-night stays in October, and this is truly my only choice whenever I come to Manila. As a working professional who travels often for leisure, I look for consistency, service, and comfort — and this property delivers every time.
A special thank you to Syra at the front desk, who is absolutely fantastic. From check-in to check-out, she made everything seamless, including assisting me with my paid upgrade to a suite for both of my stays.
The concierge team, bellmen, and door staff were also exceptional — warm, professional, and genuinely hospitable. I work in the hospitality industry in New York, so I can truly feel the level of care and attention they provide here.
The suites include access to the Club Room on the 57th floor, which was a wonderful bonus for breakfast and quiet moments. I didn’t get to use every amenity since my schedule was busy, but the pool area looked beautiful, and there are plenty of dining options onsite. I often used the lounge on the 2nd floor for quick lunches and drinks — very convenient.
They even accepted packages for me and had them waiting in my room, provided daily housekeeping and turndown service, delivered fresh fruit, and stored my luggage while I was away. Every detail was handled with care.
I’ve stayed at many hotels in Manila, but I love how this one feels both grand and intimate at the same time. It’s easy to walk to everything I need in the area. For anyone considering a stay — especially if you’re a Hyatt fan — I highly recommend it.
I’ll definitely be back in March for another visit. Thank you to the entire team for making every stay feel special.
This is truly an awesome five star hotel. There is no doubt in it, from the time you step a foot on the hotel property, you are treated like a King and served with a smile from every hotel worker. Woooow, security is also top level, they checked my car and as soon as as I parked my car, the luggage attendants hurried to help me unload my luggage and take it to my reserved room. The hotel desk representative Mr. Mike and Mr. Gerald are super fast, they checked us in and out in few minutes. Ms. Hanna and Mr. Roi helped my wife with her luggage and put in the car after checking out. There is a superb music band that plays soft music in the hallway after 5 pm to relax and drink your favorite drink. People, the breakfast buffet is out of this world, please you have to try it, endure the price tag and just try it, my breakfast servers were Mono Mk and Kate, as soon as the dish is finished, they hurry to carry it away. Cannot thank enough Ms. Marry Ann for hiring such wonderful workers who serves with a smile and supper attentive to our needs specially coffee and Late.. Ms Fatima from the breakfast cooking area cooked me my favorite breakfast which was not available in buffet, she asked me what I want and told her, eggs with green peppers, tomatoes and yellow peppers and green onions. She cooked it and brought it to my table. Wooooow, this is all because the breakfast buffet is run by an awesome manager Ms. Mary Ann, thank you Ms. Marry Ann for leaving this one of lifetime breakfast experience. It takes long hard work and training to accomplish this superb experience. The assistant manager Ms. Michael escorted us to our table with a genuine smile and assigned us our servers Ms Kate and Mono who helped refill my hot water 4 times for my tea. The breakfast chef Mr. Alexander from France made sure the food tastes awesome and everything is available. Of course the French bread begget, was available along couple of other kind of breads. The selection of cheese was limited to 3 kinds, not like the true French and German breakfast buffet where there are many different kind of cheese and tens of kind of breads available. The breakfast buffet is geared and stacked mostly to Asian tourist more than European and Middle Eastern tourists but the buffet was awesome. Please see the pictures of the breakfast. Mr. John the swimming pool attendent helped me with the towels in the swimming area, no need to bring your room towels to the swimming area and he kept watching the kids swimming as a life guard. The room was superb except that the tub knob came apart and it took maintenance 2 days to fix it. Maybe the parts were not available but we would think 5 star hotel would inspect the rooms before reserving it for a guest, please see the broken knob pictures. Overall, superb and once in a lifetime experience but my advice don't book this hotel if you are traveling back to the airport. The traffic to and from the hotel is horrendous, it took me 1.5 hour to get to the hotel from the airport and 1 hour back to the airport because the hotel is located in mid down town. Thank you hotel management for this superb treatment and smile by every hotel worker and the training you put in to make the guest experience is a life time experience. This is truly a five star hotel, no doubt or ifs.
