Hard Rock Hotel Cancun

4.5/5 Great food, amazing entertainment team, and a fun, relaxing stay We’ve just spent 6 days at Hard Rock Cancun and really enjoyed our stay. Food: The food was very good throughout the resort. Ciao (Italian) and Toro (Steak) were the standouts — excellent dishes and genuinely great pizza at the pool hut that rivals what we’re used to in Europe. Zen (Teppanyaki and Sushi) was fine, just not at the level of Japanese restaurants we’re accustomed to, though that’s pretty typical for an all-inclusive. The daily food experiences at the pool whilst delicious, i found didn't cater well to me as someone who doesn't eat chicken, pork or beef. I eat seafood so assumed this was easy to cater to but understand the best practice around food safety, which is to be respected. Vegetarians and vegans can always eat at the pizza and burger bar, or the Italian or buffet restaurants at lunch. Service: Service was best at Ciao, where Samir looked after us brilliantly with warm, friendly service and great recommendations. The breakfast buffet was consistently high quality, with a lot of the food cooked fresh and constantly replenished. In general, the wait staff work incredibly hard. At times, basics like water took a little longer than expected, but this genuinely felt like a staffing-level issue rather than a reflection on the staff. Everyone we encountered was doing their absolute best. Bars: Bar service varied slightly depending on location. Bartenders were working flat-out, especially in the heat. As we’re from the UK, perhaps our tipping style didn’t command the most engaging service, but drinks were still good and consistent. Beach & Pool: The beach is clean, with no sargassum during our stay. The waves were a little rougher, but the flags clearly indicated safety levels. The pool is big, clean, and where the atmosphere really is — the party is definitely at the pool. The pool bar gets busy on weekends when weekenders arrive. Pool Service & Entertainment: Pool service was outstanding. Special mention to Jesus, the pool waiter — endlessly friendly, always smiling, incredibly hardworking, and made every pool day better. The entertainment team truly deserves recognition. Jair, Dian, Marco, Uriel, Aylin, and Christopher were fantastic — always energetic, super friendly, great dancers, and clearly working very long days (we’ve seen them going strong for 6 days straight!). They kept the vibe high, made activities fun, and were always happy to help. We appreciate how hard you all work — you’re doing an incredible job and made our stay so much more enjoyable. Rooms: Rooms were clean and comfortable. The in-room hot tubs could use a deep clean, but we didn’t use them anyway as we generally avoid hot tubs for hygiene reasons.
