Always such a wonderful experience being able to attend Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, downtown Austin! The service is sacred, the music is wonderful. Very engaged parish, mostly locals, who care about that area of the city. Even non-Catholics enjoy this venue, it’s a beautiful, special place. Highly recommend you visit!

I decided to use a different name to hide from DMA Co. The property managemen. Oct 11, 12 and 13th of October 23...they were definitely with intent defrauding so many tenants in this 55- Up complex....people started getting legal help. I did not need help because: I've been disabled from bening Stalked: 3 times. Twice by corrupt and hateful managers. This fight has been 2 years on the 11th and more crimes committed than anyone could imagine.
They are trying to throw me in the streets for being determined and not be Victimized Anymore.
This evening while walking back... I met a black man named Adrian. Early 50's and we had such a a positive conversation...it had me on the trail.... happy and smiling. As I near the complex I look about 50 feet ahead and there was this white guy in jeans, flipflops, had a nice button down shirt l....from behind all I was thinking is: I have not personally been impressed by anyone walking....

I loved being able to come here during my trip so that I could pray the rosary on the day of our lady of the rosary! This church was so beautiful, and very old and historic. It was quiet, and peaceful. I was so thankful to be able to make this a part of my stay. Candlelight: Tribute to The Beatles was a magical experience and something I had never experienced before. There were candles all around and the musicians took me to the beatles era. It was packed and the concert was sold out I guess. They played all the beatles hits for an hour starting with ‘Here comes the sun’ and ending with ‘Hey Jude’ my all time favorite. I could not only hear myself singing but almost everyone in the room did that too.
Overall, an amazing experience and you too can witness the same as the candlelight experience is found in many cities.

I took my wife to St. David's for a distinctive date night (a Fever presentation - Candlelight: Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons concerto). The church's historical sanctuary was the perfect atmosphere/backdrop for this classical performance. The church has impressive woodwork, decor, and furniture throughout. Don't go there for Candlelight concerts. You will have problems parking and if you are 1 min late they won't let you in. Not even after the 1st song ends and they won't give your money back. I am done with this. It is a small stinky church without individual seats. Just huge benches. However, Candlelight charge you and treat you like if it was the best place for concerts. It is a diagrace

We were visiting staying downtown looking for a church for Sunday morning. Found Austin Stone and had a wonderful worship experience. I attended this church for about 2 years. The music is incredible, that’s what got me hooked! I served, joined various groups, and made tons of friends, some that I now call my closest friends. Sulinda, Ricky, and Kurt that oversee kids, youth, and college respectively are all amazing. Main campus pastor Eric is also wonderful. You can truly feel the presence of God here and the worship team is 10/10. Every service lifts my spirit and the pastors always relate everything back to the Bible, stay on subject, and never make you feel uncomfortable. Their preaching is easy to understand and relatable. This church is wonderful for beginning Christians, especially if you are unsure what to do with the spirit of God or Jesus. There are so many groups you can join and be a part of, making it easy to feel connected. They are very organized with parking. When the main lot fills up, they direct you to park at Burger Stadium or further out, and they have shuttle buses and golf carts running every 2 to 5 minutes. There is a cafe and free coffee, and if you are a first time guest they give you a gift and front parking. They have youth groups and a young adults service every Tuesday with Pastor Sam, who is amazing for that age group, plus services every Wednesday at 7 PM and three services on Sunday. They offer Spanish translation, ASL interpretation, and earplugs and headphones for kids or anyone who needs them. I am part of the LGBTQ community and I feel completely welcomed here. Come as you are. Everyone is very friendly and will do their best to accommodate your needs.

The ratios have changed since I’ve last been through, with closer to 75% decent sermon (once in a while a great one). The man has 4 services though! You can tell by the 4th service he’s thinking about a nap—understandable.
The events and weekly meetings are where the true fellowship and truly impactful messages are to be found. I benefited a lot from a Men’s group that met several months ago, whereas looking for community during the regular services will get you trampled by all the people rushing out of the church.

Grateful for Pastor Brad who reflects Jesus so naturally. His leadership is 1 of the reasons the church has grown so beautifully. I love how he stands by the entrance both at the beginning and at the end of the service, making time for people in such a personal way.
Today after 12:15pm service, my father and I were waiting to greet him. I dreamed about him last night, so it felt important to at least shake his hand, introduce him to my dad who is visiting from out of country. Pastor Brad was in conversation with someone else, and because of his kindness and desire not to be rude, he continued to give them his full attention. My dad grew a little impatient, and we were about to leave, but just as we were walking away, Pastor Brad noticed us and called out with such warmth: “Hey!” He greeted us so genuinely, as though he had been aware of us the whole time.
That moment carried such light, humility, & thoughtfulness- it reminded me of how Jesus notices people, even in the smallest details. It may seem simple, but it meant a lot to me and my father. Pastor Brad’s example is a true reflection of Christ’s heart.
The worship here is my fav. It’s powerful, uplifting, Spirit-filled. I’ve also been deeply blessed by the Freedom Group. Although I haven’t quite found close community yet, I still love attending service because of the worship, the Word, and Pastor Brad’s Christ-centered leadership. Such a great welcoming team and praise God for the parking team.

Update to response: I just came from a huge event thrown by a church in Bastrop. BBQ, plates, soft drinks, bouncy houses, snow cones, baptisms. Face painting…ALL FREE. Not even a tip jar.
Pink Cloud Vape Shop and Lounge on Cameron Rd throws sober faith based comedy shows, parties, and hosts all Al Anon pre meets and post meets in his store. All on the shop owners dime. The owner operates more like a church than a church.
Some people walk the walk. Read the Bible cover to cover for yourselves, quietly and alone with God. Then commune with others. Cause personally, it’s annoying to try and discuss God’s Word with people who haven’t even read it and then entertain how wrong they are in gentleness and love.
So I live across town and God came to me and told me about the Thursday night meeting, so I immediately did what He told me and came over here.
My VERY FIRST impression was walking in and being told it was a “$20 registration” fee. However, to their credit they followed it up “it’s for the bbq”.
In this day and age with the millions and millions of dollars churches get, the tax breaks, the “tithes” …..for ANY church to have a mention of any dollar amount for any reason, is absolutely disgusting.
Also, their disabled parking is literally in the farthest corner of their parking lot and they’re not actual spots so anyone with a wheelchair or walker is screwed. So that should be an indication of the type of parishioners they are looking for.
My prayer for the parishioners of this church is to find God for themselves so they can grow spiritually enough to understand they don’t think they need a physical church or community if they have a strong relationship with God. Amen.

Love the church. Pastor is a great guy and the members are very friendly. Work schedule makes it hard to visit on regular basis but I enjoy going on the rare Sunday I have off. I tried many churches years ago and found that non-denominational, evangelical, Christian congregations are now using fog machines and corny, formulaic worship music. I came to Riverbend expecting much of the same given the size of the place but was pleasantly surprised to find a lucid and intentional ministry. They aren’t trying to “win” the younger crowds with laser lights. The congregation here is a good mix of old and young. I started attending regularly in 2015 and have since brought my husband and my daughter here. Really look into the religious institutions you will form part of. Here’s a description of the awful experience I had with friar Florencio Rodriguez. I scheduled a visit to inquire information regarding matrimony process. Since the very beginning this man was extremely rude, condescending and very arrogant in mannerism/verbally. I kept my composure trying to be understanding and patient as I am not familiar with many of the requirements/requisites. I have not attended church since I did my confirmation sacrament years back therefore I lacked understanding which is what I expressed to him. You’d expect a friar to be respectful at the very least and welcoming, to guide you through; instead each time I asked a question he responded in an annoyed dismissive way. He didn’t even have the courtesy to look up during the interview, he was busy signing what appeared to be checks the entire time until I addressed his disrespectful way of speaking to me. I asked for my paperwork back and made it clear I will not tolerate disrespect from him just because he is a friar to which he responded he did not care. He said maybe I should come to church, which was my intent all along but not to be spoken to that way by people like him. As I walked out of his office I told him maybe he shouldn’t be a friar if he seemed to hate it and if this is the way he spoke to people. Not once was I disrespectful to him in the beginning until I had enough of his attitude.

Me and my wife were looking for a church early in 2022 when I moved to US to live with her. We checked out about 4 churches in Austin and we didn’t like them. Then next on our list was this church. Immediately at the gate we felt it was the right place for us. The welcome was warm but not invasive as they didn’t push hard. The worship was filled with divine presence and the word was life-transforming, powerful and applicable. They have a great balance not to be super wild and not so religiously calm, it was just perfect and naturally live and excited for God’s presence. We signed up to be members on the first visit.

We went to the church for the Handel's Messiah performance. I went in the front and straight into the sanctuary. I walked through and into the hallway, so I saw a little more of the building. It is a massive facility. The sanctuary is beautiful. There was a ginormous choir seating area for the choir, which was awesome for the performance - you NEED a big choir for Messiah. As a college student floating from church to church, the first time I attended service at Austin Oaks I was blown away by the friendliness of everyone — I had no one to sit with and was invited to join a family! They also got me plugged into the young adult group that day. I have found that AOC has a really good balance on most things; there are people of all ages and walks of life and the worship is a combination of older and newer songs. But having been a part of nine Christian churches during a long lifetime of job-related moves, I’ve never attended one I loved more than this one, after 15 years here. UPDATE: I stand by my review, despite the response. Though some may view my review as an attack, I wrote this review to let others about my experiences at FBC. Had the leadership practiced what they wrote below when we attended, we probably would still be there. Unfortunately, despite being members for a long time, we did not feel welcome anymore, so we left. (I would point out that, if you are having trouble attracting people, you need to look at the culture, teachers and leadership of the church and you will find your answer). This is a political club, masquerading as a church. There is a reason they hemmorage members and are unable to attract new people. We go elsewhere now, and are much happier being in a church that teaches Biblical principles and lessons.
Side note: I remember when they were thinking of building that parking garage. It was a waste of money then and my opinion still stands. Look elsewhere for a church that will teach you about God. This is not the place.

I was visiting in town and looking for a place to worship. I read many reviews of various churches in this area. All had positive and a few negative. What set The Well apart from others is they are the only church that responded to their reviews. That, to me, show they really care! They were thankful for all reviews and offered blameless apologies for the negative. I wasn't disappointed. Anointed worship and edification from the Word. Very friendly and IF I had been more engaging I feel it would have been reciprocated but it was I who was in a hurry. When the church ordained a "monogamous"gay deacon in the 1990s long before gay marriage was a modern day reality, the staff pastor to college students was either fired or resigned in protest. If you set aside the church's status as a bullhorn platform for or adjunct to all things LGBTQ you still have folks collectively serving as the hands and feet of our Lord. I think some would term UBC a church which was "woke" before anyone else even grasped what that meant.

Such a great daycare very welcome when I drop off my son. Wonderful people. I love that the fact that you can walk in all the way to the kid classroom. When there an accident they always call me to notify immediately. Mr. Davis always say good morning to my son give him hi five. Very safe environment. When you get there in the morning they have a door bell to be able to get it. As baby’s too they take outside on a little buggy to get some fresh air which I think that wonderful. I love how Ms. Hunt take pictures of your children and tells you about milestone your child made. If it wasn’t for my job and the commute I would leave him there. I enrolled my son here when he was 2 he’s now in elementary school but we came back with our daughter at 7months when Mr.Davis was still there. My daughter loves her teacher Ms.Barbara. Absolutely love and miss this daycare! Enrolled my son when he was an infant and was there for over a year.
Not only are they super affordable but they are always communicative and understanding. My son and I had personal weird schedule changes, but they were always happy to have him and accommodate. Whenever I had an issue or concern, they addressed it head on and never beat around the bush.
I’m going to miss them and I know he already misses his teachers. If I ever were to move back to Austin, they would absolutely be my first choice.

I have never had any issues with Ebenezer CDC. My son, who is now 3, feels comfortable with each of the staff and loves to go to school. Even throughout the pandemic, they have done their best to stay open and serve working families like myself. They have made many improvements, including having a smart care system for easy payments and communication with parents and beginning the implementation of a new curriculum. My son's teachers have been consistent up until he transitions into the next classroom, which is super important to me. His current teacher is amazing and is very knowledgeable in early childhood development. When I had concerns about my son's speech Ms. Hung was right there providing me with resources and support. Nothing but great things to say about the center and feel very grateful that I can trust the individuals that I leave my son with on a day to day.

One of the prettiest churches around Austin. Well worth stopping by on a Sunday morning if you're in the area. The dome is obviously spectacular. It's actually not painted but a mosaic and someone told us after mass that they spent $4MM+ on it. The congregation seemed very well off too (there was a Chopard watch in my vicinity) which explains how a church can afford a dome like that, but they also seemed quite pleasant. A friendly patron noticed my girlfriend and I were new and gave us a tour after mass. My girlfriend did mention that the Preist was a bit hard to hear but I never noticed because I was staring at the dome the whole time.

So… I lived in bougie Dallas, TX at one point in my life, and I understand & appreciate being part of a nice / high end / upper class congregation… I get it, Westlake warrants this kind of look & feel, but I was taken back at seeing someone reference the cost of the decorative dome inside the church— so publicly shared on Google reviews — to whoever decided to share (or rather flaunt) that with a recent newcomer- come on! Not only should that stuff be kept private but it really is of poor taste. Don’t get me wrong, it’s gorgeous and it’s a good church but…
… first thing I thought was the irony that they spent so much $$ on this spectacular dome, and yet, now people cannot clearly hear the sermon or singing during mass because now it drastically impacts the acoustics … and then I thought, no joke, can’t you just imagine Jesus reading that, thinking, “are you serious, this is what I’m about - a $4M dome?”
Most of all, I thought, if I’m the head of this parish, I’d remove this review because it’s no one’s business to know how much we paid for this dome… and what if it turns people off from coming to our parish because it comes off as elitist.

I stopped in today to see the church with my small black cloth wagon that I had with me since I am with out a car and walking. The church is big and beautiful and I saw church going on and felt happy and wanted go in but the security guard KEN said NO wagon allowed inside building. The priest who celebrated Mass reminded me of my dear Jesuit, Don Bahlinger, S.J., a Baton Rouge native who loved his brothers and sisters in the forgotten barrios of El Paso. It is good to leave the noise of busy Austin traffic and frantic drivers and enter into peace that only comes from Christ. No one can take that away. Open for visitors during the week, but I love visiting for mass on Sunday. 10am during the summer and 11am the rest of the year. The service is outdoors with a fantastic view. I have been attending Hillcrest for about 5 years. What resonates with me with the church, is not only the genuine smiles and warm greetings you get (as visitor or member) from the conjuration as soon as you walk through the door, but the grounded and relevant sermon Pastor Goodman shares every Sunday using the 'Exegetical' approach, which I find this style very refreshing. The biggest takeaways, is Hillcrest has a great music program lead by Michael Parker who employs a blend of modern and classic worship music, a loving fellowship community, and a great leader in Pastor Goodman.

It truly is a piece of spiritual history right in the heart of Austin and they continue to share the love of God and the way of Jesus even in this modern age, you could say it’s a modern day blast from the past. Pastor Lang’s words are a balm to the souls of those gathered and the choirs voices really lift the spirits. There was largely an older population that was very small and was at the time meeting in a small room on the side due to issues with the HVAC system. I would neither recommend this Church nor not recommend this Church. I primarily attended this Church for the Architectural aspect and was saddened that I was unable to view the Sanctuary due to their HVAC issues. I 100% would recommend this building for anybody interested in Architecture.

I loved their traditional services held in such a beautiful and peaceful historical building. But do not feel intimidated! The vibe and message is “come as you are” and they mean it.
