Ate the Friday Brunch in Al Waha restaurant. Without adult beverages it was 25BHD ($66.30). Food is good and you can certainly get your money’s worth if you’re hungry. For all light eaters I would not get the buffet. I did the seafood and sushi. It was good. The soy sauce was very very salty. Not sure if they had a low sodium version. Worth the ask. There’s a live cooking stating where you can have any protein cooked to order. Unfortunately did not try that. Desert was impressive. Wasn’t able to try everything there. Tummy was at full capacity. Really enjoyed the music but can be loud to those with noise sensitivities. Tried the Dal Tadka, Mughlai Chicken, Keema Naan, Lachha Parantha, and Garlic Naan. The Keema Naan was unsatisfactory as there wasn't much Keema in it. Lachha Parantha and Garlic Naan were ok. The tea was very good, though. There was only one person who was taking the order, serving, and billing, at the time we went. He was cordial and polite. The ambience is cute and colourful. However, the restaurant is located street-side with glass panes and if you sit facing street-side, you will be met with glances from passers-by, which disturbs the dining experience. Everything you order is hot off the stove, and every bite knocks you off into nostalgia. The menu was huge, something that always confuses me and sends a wrong message about a restaurant wanting to do everything. But I guess they want to give both the vegetarians and meat lovers an equal opportunity of choice. We couldn’t try out everything and since we are not big on eating, I will let you in on what we did. Our order was made of dal makhani, chicken lollipops, Afghani chicken, karai paneer, dum biryani, and a bread basket. Yes that’s it! After the order was noted, we were served papar and chutney, which did frighten us as to what followed. The papar seem to have been obviously microwaved leaving them raw in parts. Not a good start, eh?. Next came in the chicken lollipops, something kids love. They were juicy, not very spicy albeit near to bland. Perhaps the grownups would appreciate a bit of condiments to go with them. Good for the kids, however. Then flowed in parts of the main course, starting with dal makhani and dum biryani. The dal was just rich; licklicious I must say. A good choice by my wife was to order a bread basket so you could taste all the breads they made. So there was tandoor roti, butter roti, laccha paratha, butter naan, plain naan, garlic naan, and plentiful. The dum biryani was very good and aromatic. You could smell all the spices in there. What followed was the Afghani chicken on a wooden platter that sizzled on and on. It was tender and nicely done. The spices wouldn’t burn you but you could note them. The karai paneer tasted more like karai gosht, maybe because it was made in a karai? Whatever, but it tempted till the last bite. Interiors There are three family rooms. A room can accommodate four guests. I was told two of these rooms have a door in between them so they can be expanded to make a single larger room for a bigger group. When it comes to pricing, you will be surprised. Extremely affordable! Too good for the taste the food leaves in your mouth. The restaurant delivers as far as Hidd.
