There are even lunch options - the Cobb salad almost swayed me from the Smoked salmon & avocado benny but I decided to take in the bc smoked salmon while I could. Food was sooo good! And our server was excellent! So personable and friendly in a low key vibe while still being attentive and on point with anything we needed. Loved the fact that the place started as a food truck and has grown to where they are now. (Personally it's nostalgic of my family's restaurant background,& cant help but love seeing small businesses succeed!) The appetizers showed great promise, the shrimp scampi, strawberry salad, and carpaccio were great as were the other few appies we ordered. The zero proof drinks were also very enjoyable. Unfortunately, out of the 6 meals we ordered for the mains, the only 2 guests who enjoyed their food were the ones that shared the steak. 3 of us ordered the sablefish main, which has always been a favorite but this time it was unrecognizable. Sablefish is usually very flaky and soft and melts in your mouth . This was not that at all. There was firstly such a small piece of fish in my meal, I only had a couple bites worth. Secondly there seemed to hardly be any fish and it tasted overcooked and nothing like any sablediah I've had before-- very underwhelming. All 3 of us felt the same . The best part of the meal was the small chorizo sausage that was not supposed to be the main highlight. The sweet potato dish also fell flat. This was a mood killer by then end as none of us finished our meals and were left disappointed. Next time if im ever back, ill stick to just the appies and drinks.

It was our first time there and we didn't know what to expect. The place is small.and tight. There is contemporary art on the walls and a bust of the Michelin Man staring you down as you eat. The food is expensive but incredibly delicious. Fable definitely isn't a weekly restaurant but a special occasion restaurant. We ordered a few things and shared most of it which seems to be the recommendation. Our favourites came down to the duck meatball; a single oversized meatball with parmesan foam. The meatball was soft, seared nicely and paired nicely with pasta. Another favourite was the chocolate lava cake. It takes an extra ten minutes but the wait is worth it. The warm soft middle and the vanilla ice cream makes it a great end of meal dessert. We also ordered and shared the gnocchi. We opted to get it with the pork belly for an extra $6. This would make it $2/piece. It was a hefty price but it was delicious, tender and a melt in your mouth fat. The gnocchi itself was great and the pea puree gave it a nice freshness. For the butcher's cut, we went for the porkchop. It had a sweet bbq like sauce with it. The meat itself was tough and difficult to cut even with a serrated knife. Overall the experience was excellent. We'll definitely come back during a special occasion. I recommend making a reservation since it's popular and it was mostly full when we went there.

The first two times I went there, the food was extroardinary, the service was lovely and the way the meals were showcased had me talking about it for weeks. While managing birthday dinner requests can be difficult for small restaurants like this one, better organizing and nicer service could have improved our experience at the end. For brunch enthusiasts in particular who are in small groups, I strongly recommend this place. For parties of 10 and over who are considering doing a birthday dinner over here, I wouldn't recommend.

I've always wondered how they would interpret diner style food here. I was very excited and had high expectations. From the hostess to the service at our table, front house service is excellent. Truly a creative and well-executed menu and the level of detail was immaculate. The space is smaller than we thought it would be on the inside but it made for a more intimate experience. Also appreciated how there was ample space between tables - I dislike when I feel part of the conversation next to me. Our favourites were the Cheeseburger 2050, the Seafood Lottery, and the cacio e pepe in Don’t Steal the Bunny. The dessert courses were both incredible. I will say though that being served treats on the bottom of a shoe (albeit fake) was a little off-putting, but it didn’t take away from the taste. Cocktails were also good, we tried three different ones and even ordered one of them again. Definitely not an affordable dinner at $150 per person for the set menu alone, but I can confidently say it was worth it and that the price wouldn’t deter me from returning. This is the second Michelin star tasting menu that I have been to and I can’t wait to dine here again to see what new creations they come up with. We arrived early but it was pouring outside and they were able to get us in right away. We were sat at a booth in a corner that was a bit more intimate than the seating by the bar which we were quite happy about. Every dish that came out was explained in detail by the knowledgeable staff. By course 6 we were satiated but we persevered as the next course was better than the last. At the end they brought out the dessert with a birthday candle which I thought was sweet. Overall the food was delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly and I have already convinced my mom to make a reservation for herself in the coming weeks.

So far, this place serves the best ravioli and baguette I’ve had in BC. The baguette was perfectly done—crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. It was so good, we couldn’t resist ordering a second one. As for the ravioli? Simply the best in town. The balance between the sauce and the filling was spot on—rich, flavorful, and satisfying. Not everything hit the same high mark though. The meatballs had a lovely tomato sauce and were well-prepared, but $16 for two medium-sized pieces feels a bit steep. Worth trying, but not the best value. The only real disappointment was the steak. We ordered it medium, but it came out clearly overcooked. While we didn’t send it back (we don’t like wasting food), even at medium-well, it just met the standard—not exceptional. The sauce, however, was excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive—staff showed up at just the right times and treated us well throughout the meal. Great food & service from concierge Lorenzo to Melody our waitress and even the gal who kept filling our water without asking. We started with nicely fried calamari which came with some light salad. My hubby and I are autoimmune compromised so it was nice we could reserved patio seating which most restaurants don’t do. Value of food, service, and ambiance totally worth it. Each dish was absolute perfection — you can truly taste the quality and love put into each of them. The portion sizes were adequate and the meal itself didn’t feel super heavy which was nice. We had started with the arugula salad and cauliflower. Both had such incredible flavors. For our pastas we went with the lamb ragu, braised beef ragu bianco, and the truffle special. We had absolutely no notes — they were each to die for and it was impossible to pick a favorite. Both desserts were also incredible — the candied orange flavors of the olive oil cake paired with the rich chocolate was a huge hit. If you’re even debating on which to get, just get both I promise it’s worth it. The service here is also unmatched. I’m not sure if this restaurant holds some tables for walk ins but even with a reservation (from my first time), I seem to always wait for a table. This is a bit problematic because there’s no where to sit while waiting and we ended up having to wait in the rainy cold for over half an hour. The neighbourhood is also not the best because it’s rough and there’s not a lot of other restaurants to go into for a drink while you wait. I also wasn’t very impressed with the host’s attitude when we first arrived. I had a slight inclination that she didn’t want to assist us and that we were lucky to have the privilege to wait for a table. This is antithetical to the energy and atmosphere at restaurants in Italy. That being said, the server was really delightful once we were seated and checked on us throughout the meal. I can’t find any fault with the food; this is a recognized Michelin restaurant for a reason. The wine we picked also paired well with the dishes. I’ve rated four stars because I have no tolerance for snobbish behaviour but do recommend that everyone should try this restaurant at least once, then go again.

We ordered the Family Style Half Stop Barbecue. It was a nice variety of meats. The two ribs were solid, like smoked jerky. Not chewy but a tiny bit dry. They were better with some extra sauce. Every visit is a fantastic one. Every time I come back here I always order the UNI-versal XO pasta! It’s so good and if you get it you MUST order it with the fresh uni! The hotel was nice and comfy and we enjoyed the bed, shower, partial harbor views, and took advantage of the restaurant as well for breakfast as we left. From there everything was very efficiently organized along with table checks. The service staff along with the service manager are very delightful to socialize with 😀.
