There's a children's play area with swings and climbing frames all on grass, so quite safe. There's a pond area with lots of beautiful plants around it. There's a toilet block in the middle of the park, which is basic but OK and free. All around the park there is plenty of seating, it's a great place for a relaxing afternoon or to read a book as many people were doing.

It has paths running around the edge and plenty of seating. Walking through today I was pleased to see that done areas have not been mown, leaving good natural habitat for the wildlife. It can get quite busy as some people are simply passing through en route to the Minster or further afield but it is relatively calm and peaceful. I haven’t noticed them on previous visits, so possibly new additions, but there were a couple of colourful picnic tables at one end and also an icecream van. Great views of the Minster, particularly if you walk out towards the back and onto Deansgate. Look out for Paddington sitting on one of the benches-popular photo opportunity!

There are toilet facilities too which are handy. I was surprised to find them closed on my return to the car, closed due to ongoing vandalism. Journey to city is so quick, 5-10 mins and the buses are very frequent there and back. Will definitely be using this park and ride again and would fully recommend

Was absolutely surprised at how good a day out it was for the price! Has looked at other places to go within our area & would have cost me about £60 just to get in - was only £23 for 3 of us to get in here. They had talks at different animals/times through out the day & the animals are very well cared for. The place is larger than I expected & really well kept. A lot of it looks quite new & I was super impressed with the facilities. There’s a play area that was good although my 7yr old said it was a bit young for him but still managed to enjoy going on some of the larger pieces. There’s a cafe that was reasonably priced too. They do have picnic benches dotted around too, so you can take your own food to keep costs down. I’m surprised they don’t advertise this place better but this did mean it wasn’t busy at all & perfect for us to potter about without fighting to see anything. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone living within a 45 minute drive as it’s a fairly cheap day out & kept us all entertained for a good 3hrs.
