The tree house was not open the day that we went but we still walked up the stairs and ramps and checked it out. Lots of different trails to walk and they are all marked and numbered so you can easily follow the map. We had a fantastic time and there was so much more we could have done but didn't have time so we will definitely be back again!

Park is always very clean. Tons of stuff to keep little ones occupied, and lots of hiking trails and things to explore for the older ones. You will learn a lot about nature! There are binoculars and special outdoors backpacks you can rent out for special adventures. Lots of cool taxidermy and also live reptiles/amphibians/insects/fish. In the late spring and early summer, all the flowers are bloomed and leaves on the trees, there is wildlife EVERYWHERE... it's beautiful and amazing. The big tree house and "creaky shaking bridge" are always a hit with the kids. They do tours and events if you watch their social media you can find some cool stuff to do all summer long! My kids and friends and family all adore this place. We always make it a point to leave it cleaner than we found it. I tell each child they are a "nature helper" and I have them pick up any trash we find along the way. There are trash cans and porta-potties for use. A butterfly garden, vegetable garden, and greenhouse. I HIGHLY recommend this preserve/nature center, if you are interested in spending the day outdoors. It's especially helpful on moms who need to wear their little ones out a bit 😅 I also recommend hiking boots or sturdy sneakers. Be ready to walk, pack a snack and some water, pull a wagon if you need to. And stop at the gift shop on the way out!!

Biggest problem for me is the lack of shade. This is one of the few paved paths near me that I can walk my dog at, and this happens to be my favorite out of all of them but unfortunately it only works for me in the cooler months. In the winter this trail has a lot of ice and in the warmer months when it rains the trail often floods so be wary of that. Beautiful trail though with gorgeous wildflowers, amazing up and coming landscaping, memorial benches, and plants. Trash cans throughout and dog poop bag dispensers. Busy and loud when events are going on which is often in the summer months, parking lot fills up. I wish events were more advertised, I never know what’s going on or when. You’ll see lots and lots of wildlife here. Deer, rabbits, groundhogs, ducks, geese, birds, and possums. It’s great for birdwatching there are so many birds here. Wear bug spray, mosquitoes are REALLY bad here. Also to note, I have had three instances where an off leash dog has ran up to me and my dog. A lot of the dog owners that walk here are negligent and rude. I have a dog that isn’t friendly and I have had to start yelling at these dog owners as their dog is running towards my dog and still they don’t have any urgency to get their dog. Signs posted everywhere about dogs needing to be leashed.
