All the great things you have heard..... All completely true. The cafe itself is very unassuming and it's almost a blink and you miss it sort of place (which is a good thing which I'll explain below) inside it's like being back your mum's house or your favourite persons house to eat. Its warm, tidy, exceptionally clean and very welcoming with various sayings on the walls and interesting items dotted about. The menu gives a nice selection of options plus a few specials and deserts on blackboards on the wall. The prices... Less than £9 for an adult meal and less than £7 for a child's meal and in a moment you will see why not only is it already a bargain but becomes even more so. We ordered the goats cheese tart and steak pie for adult meals and then chicken nuggets and ham and egg for the kids. All freshly cooked to perfection. Some of the best chips I've ever had, proper home cooked chips. They came really quick too did the main meals. We ate the lot, it was too good not to. The portion size was great, not over faced and not tiny either. It was the perfect amount all round... Then the even better bit. The dessert was included in the meal price... You read that correctly the desserts were included in the meal price . So we had choc fudge cake and rubharb crumble, all home made and again were treated to some exceptional home made delights. The service was friendly and efficient and they were so entertaining and engaging with our kids. The bill, for 4 people to eat with dessert and a total of 5 drinks... £34. £34, probably couldn't do McDonald's for that price for the amount of food and drinks and certainly wouldn't be as nice as it was here. So I hope you all continue to pass it by and not pop in for food as it means there is more space for us to go and eat in there more regularly, however if you do want to go in and you really should, then PLEASE book in advance soooo many were unlucky on the day as it was so busy and couldn't get in for a table. If you are in Bridlington and looking for somewhere to stay you wont go wrong here. If I could give a 10 star rating I would, well done guys you are 3 amazing people that my wife and I wont forget.

It was busy at the bar for ordering food but we weren’t informed just how long the wait would be. We were sat outside for over an hour waiting for our food, by which time we were very cold and the dog was shivering! The plate of fish and chips was plentiful and the chips were nice, but the fish was very pasty between the fish and the batter. There are better places for fish and chips in Bridlington. The children’s play area is good. To sum up; great play area, plenty of seating outside if you have a dog (the undercover area had smokers in it so a no go for us) and I guess it’s ok if you’re happy to wait for food. The staff are pleasant enough, they just need more kitchen staff. UPDATE We have since been back and are very pleased to say that our experience was spot on. The wait times (a very reasonable 15 mins) were clearly displayed on the bar and the food was excellent. Luckily the weather was nice enough to sit out, but we appreciate the owners letting us know we can sit in with the dog if we choose. We had the crab salad and gluten free burger and chips.

The meat was superb it was good quality and cooked well. I had roast beef, roast lamb and roast pork with crackling. Good choice of vegetables including broccoli (overcooked) carrots, cabbage, roast parsnips, roast potatoes (very good), gravy. I enjoyed the food it was lovely and so did my nephew however the service let them down considerably. On two separate occasions they were a group of waitresses stood in the bar area chatting and I tried to get their attention as I needed some help and on both occasions they were completely oblivious and I was ignored. The same goes for the staff behind the bar who have no sense of urgency, and could do with some customer service training. They seem to be a lot of staff milling around but not doing very much. Great outdoor area. It was located right next to the beach and had been here the week previous just for a drink and that's what made me come back to try the food as a location super and it's so dog-friendly. Service needs improvement that food is very good and I would definitely recommend and return. One thing I would recommend to the owner is to add some signage to the exterior as to where to go when you arrive for the dog friendly dining area because had I been on my own I would have ended up walking into the restaurant where people are eating and dogs might have not been allowed. It was very confusing how to get into the pub to where we needed to be and I couldn't get hold of anybody to ask without going inside first. I also noticed (outside with my dog) other people experienced the same problem as they must have been like me (tourist) and not local.

However we all chose something different from the menu, eggs Benedict, breakfast omelette and poached egg on toast. My husband said his toasted cheese sandwich was delicious, it certainly looked it!. I had the cranberry and coconut scone. Absolutely amazing. We were really welcomed by the two lovely ladies running the cafe and they were really accommodating to our big party of 7. We all ordered breakfast and drinks. They were all amazing with good service bringing our food to our table fast. Despite being fast the food did not fall short with all of us having a hot well cooked breakfast and well baked scones. They also allowed us substitute certain items with ease and without asking.
