This has been our third Taj hotel of our trip and by far the worst of all the hotels we have used over our travels in India. Check-in was smooth and we headed for our room, so far so good. I spoke the next morning to the duty manager to share my thoughts and they did offer to change our room but the thought of packing and moving was not an option. The breakfast was adequate but again the service was poor, table not properly set ( napkins missing, no water, missing utensils) when asking for them to be provided some came some didn’t. The staff work really hard but were understaffed and unsupervised. We ordered ( the night before) a hotel car for nine am with the concierge. Sadly this also did not materialise. Overall there was a huge air of confusion and poor management in the hotel. The shining gem of the whole experience was the Taj club room on the 5th floor. The guy who looked after this area was super organised , attentive and generally a good sort! Well done that man. I booked looking at the reviews but I got the taste of reality after check-in as I realized most of the positive reviews are based on hotel staff insisting on giving 5 star and positive reviews as they know ppl look at the review so pls DONOT BOOK BASED ON REVIEWS. Now coming to the hotel first of all the rooms are exceptionally small than shown in the pictures with no basic amenities available in the room like towels, bathroom slippers, coffee etc. You will have to consistently ask or request the front desk to get it. Since I did a late check-in after a long 9hr journey I expected the room to be issue free since housekeeping had enough time to make it ready but again I was shocked to see dirty lenins including bedsheet, pillows and blanket which were full of stain. It looked like they just made the bed after previous guest check out without bothering to change with fresh lenin anf this made me realise for how long they might have done this making me fear for the hygiene level maintened by the hotel. I had to follow up 3 times with the front desk to get it changed and finally it was done after a wait of 30mins. Again things didnot stop there. Even the changed blanket was also with stains but I didnot bothered to ask as I was tired and wanted to settle on the bed after a long journey but again to my surprise the towels provided were full of stain which made me believe that this hotel is trying every bit to save money by not changing used lenins and towels and creating a serious health hazard standard for the incoming guests without their knowledge. Since I went during the special occasion I booked this hotel by paying 3 times higher price than the regular price so I expected some kind of standard maintened by the hotel but it never looked like a 3 star hotel which they mention as I had seen much better 3 star properties than this for sure. Even there are many better homestays in nearby location than this one with cheaper prices. I booking included the breakfast but I didnot bothered to take as I was worried about food poisoning looking at the level of this hotel so I can not say how was it but I believe it is again interesting to see their kitchen if the guests rooms are pathetic and not cleaned. Another important thing is that this hotel doesn't provide 24hr hot water as it is only available in the morning but if wish to have access of hot water for showers so maybe you are again at the mercy of this hotel staff. Now coming to the staff when I mentioned all my complaints to the front desk they passed it to the GM (Mr. PALASH) who is one of the most rudest and arrogant person and is not willing to accept the hygiene standards as he behaved very aggressively to my requests without offering any apology or corrections. Instead he ganged up with the lady (presumably the booking staff or his wife i m not sure) along with the security guard and made me very uncomfortable and worried about my safety as they kept on threatening me with serious consequences.
