We were drawn to the sweet delights from the window when we were in Cockermouth so had to give the patisserie a go. Upon entering we were overwhelmed by amount of choice. From cookies to cakes and everything in between. There were many Turkish items. Everything was clean and the staff were pleasant enough. One of the girls was able to give a couple of recommendations. We opted for a couple of cookies, 2 mousy cakes (can’t remember the name) and a giant Dubai chocolate bar. The cookies were large and looked appealing. However, they were too dry in my opinion. They were more of a biscotti than a cookie. We prefer a soft gooey centre. We agreed they would have been enjoyed more if they were dunked into a class of milk. The cakes on the other hand were delightful! Soft and super tasty. Very indulgent indeed. Finally, the Dubai chocolate bar was also very good, yet expensive. However, it was certainly more affordable than other ones I’ve had and just as tasty. All in all I’d recommend stopping here if you are passing through Cockermouth and craving something sweet and wanting something of higher quality than your usual dessert shops.

We can get a much better meal anywhere else. We thought this place was good for a special anniversary dinner but I was sorely mistaken. It was busy and not many places doing food, Tim who was front of house was very accommodating and found us a table. My mam is lactose intolerant and vegetarian but they went above and beyond to serve a roast dinner she was able to eat although there was a lot of changes to be made. I’m guessing the quality of the food was a bit poor due to the dining area being short staffed but it could be like that all the time. When we got home later that weekend we did have to was all our clothes and spray all of our belongings because the musty, damp smell had ‘rubbed’ off onto our stuff.
