There are lots of board games to play as well. The food menu is quite impressive for a pub. Love everything about this pub and one of the best thing is it's super close to the Newcastle Light Rail line as well. We booked an Uber and it was only 2 minute wait. The venue has a very interesting vibe and the open kitchen layout is awesome as you can see the meat skewers being handled by the staff. The night started great, the Churrasco experience was a first for me. At the start of the night the servers were frequent and the variety of food was impressive. The venue was far from capacity as it was a Thursday night, but as more people came in the frequency and quality of service dropped off a cliff. We waited 20 minutes between servers only to be offered the same dish again, only then to have another server offer the same dish again. I dont know if something happened to a staff member or what but it put a real damper on the whole experience. Other tables seemed to get dishes we never got a look at. By the time they’d finished eating, it was still another 10 mins after that before the other half of our group got their food. The kitchen did manage to remember our customisations, which was great. I ordered the Vegan Smokey BBQ burger - the filling in this burger is incredible! The flavours, the textures- honestly one of the best burger fillings I’ve had. However, the bread bun itself was The Worst Burger Bun I’ve Ever Had In My Life. I didn’t know bread could be this bad. I thought I was eating a shoe. It was cold, hard, dry and rubbery. I don’t understand why ML hasn’t amended this - it seems like such an easy thing to fix! If you order this burger I highly recommend you ask them to switch out the bun, or even BYO bread to make it edible. I can understand restaurants having a rough day here n there with staffing n wait times etc, but getting a basic food item like bread this wrong is whack. Another awesome menu item is the Cheesus - a pot of four cheeses, melted so you can dip your food in it or pour over your burger. The moisture & flavour from the Cheesus helped me get through my ratchet bun, so I def recommend! All in all I will try ML again, it’s a great place to take friends!
