The 50 best cheap eats in Swindon

Looking around the different cafes and bars in Old Town, I popped in to have a coffee and to try a breakfast. Although not that inviting from the front, the member of staff was very helpful and friendly, the coffee arrived and shortly afterwards the breakfast. The 3rd piece of bacon was hiding as well as the black pudding so a big breakfast it definitely was, I struggled. It would be nice to have a choice of a smaller version. Will be definitely going back, so the stars given may change....

Came here for a light lunch. I ordered the club grilled sandwich, my husband had the steak sandwich. Mine was extremely dry—just a dry piece of chicken, one lettuce leaf, and barely any mayo. I went to ask for sauce and had to wait about 20 minutes while the staff struggled to take the order from the customer ahead of me. When the waitress finally turned to me, she was sarcastic and said she’d already asked my husband. I explained I wanted sauce myself, and to be fair, she brought it over quickly—within 2–3 minutes. The space is nice, but the food and service need real improvement. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We come here all the time, and we are always greeted with a smile and made to feel at home by the staff. Came in today and we were served by a new staff member. No friendly greeting we order a couple of cocktails (supposed to be sex on the beach) and we got 2 drinks that were just thrown together in a shaker. Served without due care and attention. Having spent 30 yrs in the trade I just find this lack of due care and attention an issue. When asking for the drinks to be remade, i was told by the young lad that "i used to work in a really high end bar" which sort of didn't make him look that great- considering it is a pretty basic cocktail he definitely should have known how to make it. However it was remade to how it should be made. I would suggest more training. Not just on mixology but also customer service as well.

Nice bar but no ales. Good choice of food and generally good quality. Had 5 meals and all tasted good. Bacon undercooked on chargrilled chicken and tacos very tasty but a little small. Generally good overall. Would come again

Food came out quickly but the drinks took over half an hour as we ordered them on the app. Apparently staff don’t check the app regularly. Very disappointing as we only ordered two basic drinks. After going up to the bar twice, the manager helped us and was very nice.

AVOID, Poor service even when empty!!! We came here for breakfast hoping to try something new. We waited 1 hr for our food and our drinks arrived late, considering it wasn’t very busy and there wasn’t alot of people seated. We got handed different orders twice within the hour which they brought back to the kitchen. We had assumed it was the orders of the people that have walked out and left, as there had been a few customers asking for refunds at the till. My partner and I were exhausted and hungry as we were in the process of moving house. By the time our order arrived it was lukewarm and I received a meal that wasn’t what I ordered, at that point we gave up and ate what was delivered to us, as we didn’t want to wait any longer for the correct food to be delivered as we already waited an hour.

no 'beer' just about 20 largers and ciders and an IPA which isn't proper beer , so had to have Guinness, plus the fire alarm kept going off , at least 7/8 times in about 15 minutes, so we drank up and left. note to owners , get some beer on tap and you may get more customers as it was empty apart from us on Friday ?

I am an Indian and what’s better than an Indian telling you about Indian food. The food here was horrible took my family here yesterday, food overpriced, taste horrible nothing like the original, request to make the dish spicy not followed , most of the food was bland. Leaving that this is the 2nd day now. The whole family’s got food poisoning. Service was good but I am not sure about the chef and the food pricing . Atmosphere could be better.food arrived very quick but what was the point it’s not meant to be like a fast food restaurant, all the good reviews you see are fake requested by the restaurant to customers and most of them are just white as you can see the names . Do not go here for the sake of your stomach and taste buds.

Visited quite late, yet excellent welcome and service. Very comprehensive menu and some novel dishes alongside the old school favourites. Starters were spectacular, main dishes were very generous and spicy dishes were certainly hot! Lamb could have been more tender. Decor is interesting, and seating in the basement is a bit isolated. Very good value for money. Would recommend.

The food is okay. Not so much as hyped. Ordered some tandoori butter chicken. But you cannot have coconut in butter chicken. That’s not authentic at all. Overall it tasted so sweet. Probably half a kg of sugar in there. Rest of the dishes ordered were okay. Just an average Indian restaurant.

Great service. Decent portion sizes. Tasty food. Not oily. Good price. Rice was a little al dente for my personal taste but still tasted good. Rating is based on comparison like for like with other restaurants with the exact same order. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Really disappointed with our food tonight. We always order from Ruchi but tonight the quality was certainly lacking. The onion salad tasted weird and was dried out like it's old. The butter chicken wasn't butter chicken but a korma with Tandoori chicken. The mango chutney had a weird tang to it and was a different colour to normal. The chips my husband has with his curry were stale and dry, felt like they were yesterdays chips. It rare I leave a disappointing review but this really wasn't what we are used to from Ruchi.

We went to Rishi yesterday evening to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. We pre booked a table of four (as friends were joining us). We haven't been there for around 12 months. W were greeted with a wonderful warm welcome by each and everyone of the super staff. Each member of staff, were so attentive and cheerful to serve us. Even remembering our favourite table. The food was fairly priced and so ample in portion size, we all ended up taking a 'doggy bag home! It leaves me to say, what a continuous gem Rishi and your staff are. From kitchen to front of house. We have always enjoyed every meal here and without a shudder if a doubt, highly recommend this fab restaurant. Thank you, what a great night!

Always a family favourite, if you are eating in or taking away, the service and food is impeccable! The menu is extensive with something for all the family, we never go anywhere else for our curry.

The food was pretty good, not the best I ever had (but a long shot), but 4 start worthy nonetheless. There were two waiters though who constantly came by to ask for things. It got a little annoying to be honest

Very busy, which always bodes well for any restaurant. Food excellent, sensibly priced, and staff attentive and respectful to customers. If I'm in town again, I'd definitely go again.

First time visiting as passing Swindon. The service was absolutely wonderful attentive and welcoming. Unfortunately i found the food to be bland and not as i expected from an indian restaurant. If the dishes had more spice and seasoning the experince would have been nicer. However the staff made the visit very pleasant.

We had our work Team Event lunch at The Jewel in The Crown, on Tuesday, 30th September 2025 and the service was first class. The food was amazing and Ali, the Manager of the restaurant, did his utmost to work with us on a budget as there was such a big team of people attending. Thank you to the team at The Jewel in The Crown, we had a fantastic lunch and we will be back! Highly recommend.

Amazing food! We went there around 13:00 on a Thursday. The place was completely empty and it felt strange, but we decided to go through with it since we wanted indian food. And we were so happy with our decision! It was definitely the best indian food we ever had. The naan bread was incredible, almost the best thing we had, eclipsed by the lamb and pumpkin curry (just so many layers of rich flavours). The biryani rice was also great. We ate so much more than needed just because we wanted to keep tasting its flavours. And it was a lot of food for a very decent price. I'm sure I'll never find as good indian food back home, in Brazil.

There are VERY few restaurants where I can describe myself as being in food paradise, but my goodness this is one of them. Amazing. Such good food. Wow. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Just perfect. And that's a very rare statement from me.

Wonderful flavours, character of the restaurant is all part of the charm and experience. The staff were really attentive and couldn't do enough. I had my regular order of king prawn vindaloo and mushroom rice. It was perfectly cooked and the amount of prawns was well worth the price. We went out with our freinds that has a specific diet. Vegetarian. She complemented the quality of the selection and freshness of her vegetables within her dish. Highly recommend 👌

Absolutely fantastic family run restaurant! The food was excellent, big portions, quality ingredients and the service was spot on. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, they were even giving everyone a slice of their walnut and syrup cake after dinner for free! And a little shot of Ouzo with the bill to top it off. 5 star experience, we would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

A Superb Experience. The waiter was incredible. Friendly, quick and polite. The food was absolutely delicious. It was my partner's birthday and they put a balloon on our table, made a fuss of her and gave her some lovely cake with sparkler in it. Also the bill was a lot lower than expected. We will be back. Highly recommend.

We went to independently-run restaurant The Greek Olive, on the Faringdon Road. We had the most fantastic meal for my mum's birthday. They had decorated the table, and the food was SUCH good quality, real food. I could have eaten my beef stifado with a spoon, and my husband's lamb kleftiko just fell off the bone! Portions are very generous; I had enough for lunch the next day! Children's menu is fab at £6.50 for grilled chicken breast on a stick and chips, then it was topped off with a mini dessert and Happy Birthday 🎶 too! If you don't want rice/chips/roast potatoes with your main, they're happy to do a Greek salad. 😁😋 There was a little wait for food, but the kids were entertained by the games the restaurant has for them to play!

Very warm service, delicious food, good portions and very family friendly. The moussaka and beef stifado were so good. To top it off, they gave us a little portion each of greek custard pudding and sweeties for the children, on the house. Very reasonably priced too. We’re very glad we stopped off here for dinner on our way home from a road trip instead of the services!

I visited the Greek Olive on the recommendation of a Greek colleague and it definitely exceeded the recommendation! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by very friendly staff, who welcomed me to the family-run restaurant with genuine smiles. I quickly noted a variety of customers from birthday parties, families, couples, friends and locals popping in for food. I thought this boded well for my experience and I was so right! Three very generous starters of aubergine dip, prawns and sausage were served quickly. The prawns were big king size ones and there were so many of them! They were absolutely delicious but it was such a huge portion (think main course serving and then some!) that I was forced to share. The aubergine dip was lovely. Followed by the ribeye steak (cooked perfectly rare) and halloumi skewers. Both mains were again very generously portioned - see photos - but sadly were not finished due to the sheer portion sizes. We were then offered, on the house, tasting portions of dessert; apple in pastry. They were warm, crispy and delicious, however, one remained uneaten due to being so full. Overall, the Greek Olive is a wonderful, genuinely local restaurant offering very good food and incredible value for money. I will definitely be returning but having learnt from the above, will probably share one starter between 4 people or forgo a starter altogether so I have room for my main! Second visit - and I was blown away once again by the delicious food and top-notch service. This time, we wisely decided to share a starter, which meant we had plenty of room for our amazing main courses. The chicken skewers were tender and flavorful, and the halloumi skewers were absolutely divine! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, treating us like family from the moment we walked in. It's clear that this place is a labor of love, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. Green Olive is definitely one of my go-to spots - can't wait to come back and try more of their tasty dishes! 5/5 stars!

Possibly one of the most popular restaurants in Swindon. However in my opinion this restaurants is very average at best. Small portions (even for tapas!!!) and highly overpriced. Restaurants itself is designed beautifully, lovey ambient and very clean. Service provided was OK. At the beginning of our visit, we felt well look after however, as the evening progress staff stop checking on us and we have not been offered additional drinks, dessert or coffee, etc. Dishes I have ordered were OK, but nothing more than that. For 4 chunky chips and 4 tiny slices of pork I had to pay £11 which is ridiculous! Personally not a place I would recommend for a dinner. But I see why it is so appealing to others. Strongest points, definitely good location, beautiful design of the place, and very clean. Food and service - really depends on personal expectations and previous experiences in other places. For me it was just OK.

Los Gatos serves some of the best tapas I’ve had in the UK! The portions are generous, and the flavors are rich and authentic. The casual, cozy setting makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening out.

Great variety of tapas dishes and all fresh and full of flavour. The ham croquettes and battered fish were fantastic. The service was great and as it wasn’t busy they moved us to a bigger table so we had more room for all our food. Very tasty sangria too! I have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. Since they’ve had the renovations I think it’s only got better. My favourite restaurant in Swindon by some distance.

Visited Los Gatos for an early dinner and honestly it was DIVINE. The food was so tasty, we enjoyed every dish we got. The best tapas place we have been to. The service was great - our waitress was super friendly and attentive. There are so many options to choose from on the menu and the interior of the restaurant is lovely too, a real authentic feel. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and visit again.

Tried it out. Popular place. Still recommend it. I found menu to be smaller than I expected. Service was okay-good. Speed could have been worked on, especially for drinks (as a first) whilst waiting for food.

Service was amazing. But the prices are ridiculous. We ordered 5/6 tapas dishes. Came to about £90 (we had a drink each as well). Very small portions of tapas (the tortilla is literally one slice with some salad leaves) it was also very burnt so wasn’t typical of that Spanish taste. The calamari was really not nice. No seasoning, just tasteless. Had to leave it. I’ve been to lots of tapas restaurants with much bigger dishes and tastier food. Cannot fault the service though.

Food and service were good. Staff were friendly and polite. The restaurant mixes a nautical theme into its decor, to go with the narrow boats on the canal next to the restaurant which was something different and nice to look at. The bar area was also dog friendly from what I saw with some dogs sat under tables. Outside seating next to the canal was also available. If you’re a fan of desserts then I recommend the triple chocolate brownie which was slightly warmed and sprinkled with what was either a twirl or flake bar. Absolutely delicious.

A mix between a farm shop and a restaurant, but turns out to be a pub, in the middle of what looks like an industrial park, but is actually a residential area. But apart from these quirks, you'll find a very decent eatery which also serves pints (except Guinness), and the icing on the cake is dogs are welcome. Highly recommended. Love the hand dryers. They work no matter where you put your hand, and are so powerful, unlike another well known brand I won't mention here

A big restaurant come cafe on the side of a small lock. Very tranquil with fantastic interior design. Unfortunately I can't rave about the food as the prices could not reflect the quality. Firstly, the food took a very long time, around an hour from ordering. It came out luke warm, almost cold, and I was not expecting the little amount of beef and sad couple of carrots for over £20. The beef was described to be "served pink" but there was no colour at all, cooked through and mainly sinewy so really not much "beef" at all. The gravy was cold and watery. The most impressive thing on the plate was the Yorkshire pudding. When I ordered a drink, a lychee rum cocktail, there was very little lychee flavour and I couldn't taste any rum, mainly sparkling water, very disappointed. Fish and chips was mainly just overcooked batter. Although I wouldn't say the food is terrible and inedible... I would say that the prices were awful for the quality of food you got.

I went to grab lunch here, and I was so lucky to get a table outside overlooking the water. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable. My brother had the Buttermilk Chicken Parmigiana & Hot Honey, Chorizo & Pineapple Bites, and he absolutely loved it! I had the Nourish Bowl with an extra chicken breast, and it was delicious too. The only downside was that the glasses looked a bit grimy with water spots.

Really quirky pub, serving great coffee and alcohol with a super choice of menu items from sharing plates, club sandwiches and burgers to vegetarian twists on classics such as the battered cauliflower 'wings' and the toasted plant based salt 'beef' sandwich. Lunch choices: Club sandwich was very generously filled, which meant it was a very messy eat but very good. The Mediterranean vegetable tart was tasty, served with a delicate salad of watercress & shallot salad. The triple cooked chips were golden, crunchy and fluffy inside. Overall, the decor is amazing, the food is very good and service is quick. Definitely worth another visit or two! April update Despite being lunchtime, it was very busy so I would advise booking to ensure you get a table. I booked in advance and was given the canal boat, which is such a quirky and interesting place to sit as well as feeling very intimate. Food was served quickly (order at the bar) despite being busy. The sandwiches were very good indeed, generously filled and served with crispy fluffy fries. I definitely recommend this place; it has such a wonderful welcoming feel!

1st time of visiting and was so impressed from the moment we walked in. Staff were very attentive and accommodating throughout the whole evening. Food was very good. Just a shame we couldn’t have a pudding but we were all so full up. So we will definitely be back again soon and have our desert. Atmosphere was really good and everyone was enjoying themselves. All staff were happy and so helpful. Thank you to the man on the bar who took us to our table. (Amazing and very friendly but forgot his name). And again our server. An okay experience- not great not terrible. The staff behind the bar were great, very friendly and attentive despite seemingly there not being enough of them. We ordered two cheese and bacon burgers. They kind of seemed somewhat thrown together. The beef was dry and chewy. The fries were nice but as pictured there was only the smallest amount of coleslaw. Everything- from the floors, to the tables and menus, was sticky. It was gross. Football was being shown in the bar which was great.

We had to make a very last minute reservation for 20 people. Victoria was very accommodating and made us feel welcomed and cared for. Nothing was too much to ask for. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I can’t thank Victoria enough for everything she did to make my Dads birthday meal special. All the food was lovely and tasty. We had 10 carvery’s and 10 main meals. The carvery is outstanding and my brother had 4 plates, so I guess he loved it 😂 All the main meals came out together, hot and tasty 😋 Thank you Victoria and team 🥰

Lovely warm welcome and clean surroundings but tables and chairs are a little worn and wobbly. It became quite tiresome at the dinner table, making sure drinks didn't topple over. Refillable drinks, special deals on food and daily specials on the board. Sundays there is a carvery. I ordered the fajita burger and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Staff more than happy to let us eat our own birthday cake after our meal. Even provided a knife to cut it with. Toilets could of been cleaner given it was a very quiet Monday night, but nowhere is perfect I suppose. Overall I would come back. At least to try the carvery.

I was shocked to see overall rating is not well into the 4*+, on reading the negatives reviews they are the polar opposite of our experience. We had a family lunch. We got a table immediately no waiting even though the place was nearly full, impressive when we were 7 in total (grandparents to toddlers). There was not a single stacked plate or uncleared table, the staff worked really hard and as a team, no flapping. We were told there could be a 30 minute wait as they were busy, food arrived under 10 minutes, all delightful (from gammon to burgers to bangers and mash). When we finished plates were removed promptly but not feeling like we were being rushed on. We had an issue with a voucher code not working manageress (Vic) resolved without any hesitation - so welcome when you have little ones. Nancy served our table with her colleague and offered a resolution when the toy vending machine swallowed one of our little ones money without issuing a toy. They couldn't do enough to help on the day, food was quickly served, good portions and we managed to feed family with drinks for just £60, you might think they cut back on the smiles and service but they don't. Well done Vic and Nancy, I can see why you were so full, even on a Wednesday lunch, keep up the good work.

I come here every Friday morning and I’m always greeted with a smile and a friendly chat with Nancy. Nancy is such an excellent server and she always make the ordering experience perfect. I meet my step dad and mum here and she always makes sure the food arrives nice and warm when my stepdad arrives on his lunch break 10/10 experience I would so recommend this place

I know when I order from you I’m guaranteed an excellent meal. Your fried chicken is the best, your gravy we have pots frozen to reuse, the curry is fantastic and the jerk chicken is spectacular. We like ordering from your website directly as well, because we know we’ll get food delivered with care by lovely people. One man in particular is always nice and has a chat. Keep up the good work as you make our takeaway days feel worth while.

Easily the best place to order from in swindon, i order from there frequently and they have never disappointed with the food being so fresh and tasty every time. Today i ordered and they forgot to add the mac and cheese in my initial order and their delivery driver noticed and even redelivered to me which is such amazing service and i wish i got his name so i could add it into this review but he is truly a credit to the service of this place. Amazing food,even though a Covid-slimmed-down menu meant there was no bun & cheese or homemade cake, but fabulous reggae music playing in the background. Lovely people, had a great time, would definitely go back again & again & again. It's a small place across two floors so book ahead! Oh and I loved the salt n pepper pots 😂

What a great little pub! Friendly staff made me feel at home and welcome when staying nearby for work. The locals were also very friendly. Reasonably priced food and drinks, excellent pint of Guinness. They put the football game on for me even though I was probably the only person in there interested. Can’t ask for much more really!!

Food is absolutely banging. Service is always top tier, from the lovely, funny staff. The prices, and deals on food & drink just about hit the sweet spot. The Guinness is beautiful- genuinely top 5, maybe even top 3 in all of Wiltshire (I would know). The staff take their time, and pour properly. Strong creamy heads every time. I'll always TRY a Guinness in England, but its very rare that I will miss every bus and stay to have as many pints as my wallet will allow.

Great place and friendly staff. The Gorgeous George is always happy to see you and Lauren the Manager will always go out of her way to make your visit great.

Great customer service provided by staff at the Windmill, especially George. He is a great asset to the pub. It really was service with a smile. He gave recommendations and was very attentive. We would most definitely return.

Awful. Unless you wanted to watch the football. We should have eaten at the hotel. Asked for Sunday lunch but only had one option and when it came 40 minutes after ordering, half the veg was missing with no apology. Left after trying to get a 2nd drink but found it hard to get served. Truly awful.

Visited here for the first time and was some of the best food I have eaten. As someone who loves tapas this is perfect, the selection on the menu has a great variety and the catering for gluten free made me feel so comfortable. Thank you to the owner James :)

Delicious and such a great variety of food options!! Would 100% recommend! 2 options and a side of chips is a good portion if feeling ok, wouldn’t need more than 3 and a side. Good drink menu too, cocktail pitchers nice. Only thing is the food went cold quickly as expected maybe with tapas.

We went here because of the good reviews the idea of having lots of food that was gluten free and a variety of flavours. We got there and the owner greeted us when we saw us, he was very polite, very friendly and very helpful. He allowed us time to choose our food. We had 6 dishes between the two of us and some nibbles. Then olives were incredible! Some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food which you can see pictured was delicious. The pork unfortunately was over cooked and dry, which made it disappointing as pork belly can be incredible. The chicken skewers were really tasty, the prawns and the chicken and chorizo dishes were all really well cooked and had some nice flavours. I wouldn't say they had a lot of depth. The chips had mixed reviews from us. The atmosphere in the restaurant was okay, we were away from most people, and when it got busy that's when service got slower. I think they were a staff member down and it was apparent. The waitress who started later was very polite, and friendly and seemed to be a really hard worker. It took a while for us to get the bill and pay for it and by that point the table was needed for a pre-booked party so it felt rushed and so gave a slight sour taste to the ending. All in all, I'd say it's definitely worth visiting at least once, it's unlikely we will go back as we don't often visit the area and it just leave a lasting impact like other restaurants we tried over those two days.

One of the best ‘eat out’ roast dinners I’ve ever had! Been here for tapas and I thought I’d try their new Sunday roast. I have to say it was as lovely as their tapas. The roast potatoes were crispy and super tasty, there was plenty of it and everything was cooked to perfection! I’d highly recommend a visit!

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to Swindon. Excellent service, who served us explained about the food and was very attentive, and the food was really spectacular.

Back again for Sunday roast. We have voted this the best Sunday roast in Swindon and we have been everywhere. Runner up is Jacks. The best for taste. Value for money and the staff are amazing. I had the child roast which is like a normal size roast.

Fantastic restaurant with even better food. I visited Swindon as a surprise for my step father's birthday, and chose this little gem of a place to eat at. Every dish I ordered tasted fresh, flavourful and was presented wonderfully. My personal fave was the roasted chorizo, I would definitely reccomend it! There was a small issue with my churros dessert however this was rectified immediately. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. If I'm ever in Swindon again I will sure to visit!

Always wanted to try this restaurant as it was a recommendation from a friend and it exceeded my expectation. The ambience was great. We were lucky to get a table without prior booking, though i would recommend to book in advance. The staff were amazing. They made sure to keep checking on us. The food experience was great. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves eating out.

Food was AMAZING!! We had the all you can eat steak and the quality of the steak was amazing!!! The staff was equally incredible and accommodating. Couldn’t recommend somewhere any better. Definitely come here if you’re in Swindon!

Wonderful! We had a very enjoyable meal at Kenzo 72. We found it by accident and was attracted to the lovely exterior. Inside, it looked so classy. We were welcomed with a smile, and the helpful staff explained the menu options. We opted for the steak all you can eat. We were not disappointed. Rib eye and sirloin steak cut into strips, which we cooked to our liking on a hot stone. This was great because we both like our steak cooked differently. The offer included help yourself salad and unlimited sides and sauces. We had garlic mushrooms and sweet potato fries, and there are more options, including mac and cheese, fries, etc, but what we had was plenty. The mushroom sauce was delicious. When the hot stone started to cool, it was quickly replaced, and the staff were very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and asking if we wanted more sides, etc. We had a lovely lychee mocktail to accompany our meal. Wish this restaurant was closer to us, we would be there all the time! ❤️

What an incredible experience we had here for my Birthday in this one off chain restaurant. We were served by the wonderful Julia who was incredibly attentive with us all round. We had the alll you can eat steak (rib-eye/sirloin) served to us fresh for us all to cook on a delightful hot stone. We loved our time here and ate through as much as we could. Really friendly and helpful guys served us, my bully burger tasted like it came from the Costco next door. Very cheap tasting burgers, I had the triple but ate only half. My friend had the heaven and hell burrito but tasted bland. Chips were well seasoned. All in all I was a bit disappointed and I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews came from. Truly a hidden gem here in Swindon. The quality and price is second to none. Great variety of options and the amazing reuse of a retired bus. The atmosphere and cleanliness inside the bus is 10/10. The heaven and hell burrito was amazing! I love finding places like this and I will surely be back! It’s cash only after 16.30 but you can order on their website for collection for a 75pence fee - perfectly valid to cover the card cost otherwise.

Me and my partner are from Wales and knew we had to try this place when we came to Swindon and it did not disappoint. Food portions are very generous and reasonably priced and staff are very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is also good, will definitely come back next time we’re in Swindon!

My first time trying bandido burritos was yesterday, and I'm really impressed. I think I will try everything on the menu 😀. The burrito I had was so flavourful and filling. This is so good.

We had an awful experience. Appreciate it was a busy Saturday but the bar staff served 2 people ahead of us even though we had been standing waiting to be served for over 20 minutes! It was much better when it was table service.

Love it!!! You have to order the absolute passion, such a tasty drink, and the pulled pork fries were amazing and such good value for money. The mother clucker was also very decent.

When we first arrived, we were shown to a table. That threw me a little as it's my first time here, as we are not from Swindon. Once seated, we wanted to get a drink and then realised it was a table service. Which is good in a sense. You know your drinks will be safe, but it did take a little while before we were served. The waitress did give me a bit of a weird look, which made me feel uncomfortable, but after that, the service was good. They kept coming over and making sure all was OK. I liked it here, but you couldn't really hear each other talk. It's pretty loud. We were on a hen do with family, which I haven't seen in a while, but we were looked after. We were even moved to the back area where there was more room, and it was a little less noisy. There is also an area at the bottom of the bar where you can go and vape and smoke, which is great as it meant you didn't have to keep leaving the premises. The food was OK. We just had curly fries, but some were a little hard. But all good, though. The drinks were reasonably priced, it was buy two for a £10. So, five pounds each is not too bad. The loos were clean and tidy, too. Bonus. All in all, it was a decent place. Would I go again, yes!

Fancied a Sunday roast after a trip to Avebury. Rang on the off chance to see if they had space, they were very accommodating and squeezed us in with our little dog. The staff were very friendly, and the food was brilliant, we had sirloin beef roast, the portions were large and the beef was really tender. Will definitely be going again but will book next time as it was really busy and the restaurant was packed.

What an amazing pub. Food was fantastic! This is not the usual average pub and those images in google are not updated. The pub inside is lovely, the food is marvellous. Everything is fresh and homemade. Warm bread, ham, cheese, onion rings etc. were incredible. The service was attentive and we truly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Honestly a great place for all the occasions, family meals or business dinners. WELL DONE!

Did the pizza and pasta deal on Monday which is excellent value. No drinks menu which is not good. Drinks were a bit pricey but to be expected I suppose. Overall quite good.

A warm greeting from the staff, the young lady was very tentived, not pushy at all, the Thursday Carvery was just so nicely cooked packed with amazing flavours, we will definitely be going back!

Such a shame this pub is not easier to get to without driving as this would make a great regular drinking hole. Will definitely visit again though.

April-2025: Lovely roast lamb dinner on Sunday with my friend having the pork. Giant yorkies with lovely home cooked vegetables and delicious gravy. Back there Monday for pizza and pasta night for £2.50 a dish or pizza with each drink.. Then again, on Friday with my niece and her family. Then, yet again, the following Tuesday with my sister and my brother-in-law. Definitely giving them a lot of custom, but well worth it now that I moved closer. May-2024 Another great meal at The Fox and Hounds in Wroughton. I had the chorizo with prawns in a white wine sauce with crusty bread (as a main), then my friends had a Southern Fried Chicken Burger with chips and the other who doesn't eat meat had the small Fish and chips with peas. They do a small vegan menu but not a vegetarian/meat-free menu, which is a pity as my non-meat eating friend likes proper cheese in meals (whether feta, mozzarella or cheddar for example) and proper butter made puff or short crust pastry for vegetarian based pies not all the vegan substitues. So, we may not frequent it as regularly as limited choice for her, unfortunately. Thoroughly recommend.

Dropped in for the Tuesday Jazz. Service was friendly and the pub was not overly busy. Jazz was great and we shall be stopping by again for sure.

I'd not been here before but wanted somewhere central for a meet up with a couple of friends. I couldn't be more happy with everything. Great cozy atmosphere, really nice decor, our waiter was Ryan and he was just lovely, perfect amount of attentiveness without being too much. The food was gorgeous, we all ordered different things and all were fabulous. Particularly recommend the oysters, scallops and hake. Great night all round, will be back very soon 😊

Updated review: Change in hands since we last came but still an amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Oysters are still here and delicious as always. Some great garnishs, particularly the Asian one. Food was phenomenal, with amazing flavours and combinations I hadn't had before. The presentation of it all and how it was brought out really brought it all together making it a lovely experience. Staff are very friendly and really show their passion in their food which doesn't feel gimmicky nor overwhelming but adds to a great restaurant experience. We will definitely be coming again. We want to try something else off the menu but I don't know, as I was won over by what we had!

The Royal Oak is a gem. Delicious, beautifully presented food, friendly attentive service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every dish was full of flavour, and was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

Great value food with the two-for -£22 mains deal, chips were great, good portion size, burger was really good too. Great service, quick and friendly, every member of staff made an effort to smile and say hello as we walked through the restaurant. The Long Island ice tea was lovely, but the star cocktail was the “Royal Oak” signature cocktail with cucumber, a revelation! Vibe was great, decor was really well done and the music was lovely even before the live band came on - who were amazing! Really talented jazz musicians. Highly recommend this place.

Really nice place to eat. There was a delay upon the starters as that was 45minutes. But you know it was all fresh. She was given a free glass of wine for my other half which was nice. Halloumi and camembert for starters. Surprisingly the camembert was not that salty and the halloumi was bouncy and nice with the sweet honey on it. Mushroom risotto and meat paella. My other half said the risotto was amazing and flavourful. My paella was rich and tasty. The desert was a little let down tasted frozen but was ok. My only main moan was the seat I was on. I was numb at the end but the staff were amazing.

Stopped in on the way through, just to have a well deserved treat after a hard day. When we got in we were just going for a chat and a drink, but having smelt the food coming from the kitchen, we could only but order our dinner, food was tasty , homely food. We rebooked for end of month treat.

Definitely will not be returning to this pub again. Visiting on a Saturday afternoon for some pub lunch with friends, the food extremely overpriced and small portions and tasted average at best! The staff are the biggest problem, all very young teenagers, very rude and unprofessional. As for the landlady i have never come across such a miserable rude woman ever. To run a pub you need to be upbeat and have people skills but this lady clearly does not. 100% would NOT recommend.

First time visitor to the Kingsdown and have to say I was really impressed. The food was great, drinks were great and service was great. The halloumi burger was outstanding, highly recommended. The steak pie was good too. Definitely would recommend and go again

From just walking through the doors we knew wed love it. Receptionist was lovely and very helpful. Room was spacious,very clean and fresh. Bedding was if great quality with plenty of pillows too. Will definitely be booking again.

Stayed here for 2 nights, room was very clean and spacious - especially for the price we paid. Room service was great, with great food and fast service. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is self serve and has a good amount of variety and options. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Only downside being if you arrive back late, the parking situated behind is often full. Although we were told there is a multi storey overflow across the road. Good experience.

Breakfast was very tasty and varied, and the staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming, and kind. Friendly welcome, nice room and decent breakfast. The restaurant had a reasonable selection of evening meals. Handy for the town centre and bus station. It is located on a busy road; so expect traffic noise if you have the window open. The car park (chargeable on check-in ) can fill up very quickly though. I'd happily stay here again.

This hotel has air conditioning but they ration it. We went to bed with the a/c on & it went off at midnight. I had to open the window & the comforter is for winter time so it was awful hot. The a/c didn’t turn back on until 9 am. The beds are comfortable….that & the breakfast is pretty good. Otherwise it is a mediocre hotel. It is in a terrible location & you have to walk a long way around from the parking lot in the back of the building to come in the front door. Also, they don’t have enough parking for the hotel guests &/you might have to park in a lot across the street. The bathroom we had was horrible…mold on the ceiling, terrible lighting, cheap towels, etc. They give you shampoo & shower gel but no conditioner or lotion. The food in the restaurant was really good but the beer & cider, on tap was lukewarm. We asked for quiet room & got one but the road out front is very, very busy & loud. I don’t think we’ll be back.

I would like to give a big 5 stars to Leonardo Hotel for the hotel reception team’s excellent customer support and genuine service. We drove down from London to South UK in July, and I was very tired after the trip. During my stay, I lost my hat and shirt, and the reception team went above and beyond to assist me. Their kindness, patience, and genuine care made me feel truly valued as a guest. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable—I really appreciate your outstanding service!

Friend and I came for a Friday dinner. Wow. The Flying Pig Burger was exquisite. Bacon had the right amount of crisp, the pulled pork was warming. The pork burger was great. The texture was splendid. I liked the touch of garlic on the toasted bun. Fries were _very_ crisp and I loved them. As my friends pork chop was taking some time to come out of the kitchen, staff kept us informed and supplied us with sausages. Pro tip: get sausages.

Beautiful organic food served by attentive and knowledgeable staff. This time I had a pork super food salad from the specials board. It looked great and tasted as good as it looks!

Second visit to this lovely restaurant, it’s small so booking is advised or you can chance your arm... I had the fillet steak on the ocassion and it was delicious and cooked exactly how I like it. Would have preferred fat chips but that was my fault for not asking! Cosy, lovely ambience and friendly staff.

Can’t fault the service, very good from start to finish, however……. Batter on both Fish and sausages was so doughy, and so much of it! The texture of the batter was almost the same as a donut, not good. Photos are just some of the removed batter, there was equally as much on everyone else’s plate. Good points, the actual cod was very nice, bad points, chips, just about cooked, I personally like my chips a little more crispy than these were. Battered sausage were not good, too much batter and sausage a little flavourless. I think if they had the batter a better consistency, more crispy, less of it, and cooked the chips for longer it would have made a nicer meal.

I was a regular customer of this chippy. Every friday for lunch, as well as occasionally for dinner after school; I would come here for my typical fish and chips meal, the lovely Turkish owner, his employees, his sister, as well as his Iraqi mate know what I want and were always friendly and kind. We have fun discussions and chit chats and was like a friend. When they serve the food, it was always very good. It was a straight 5 stars for me. However, the last time I went here, the owners changed, and the new employees were unfortunately not that great. The new staff were not approachable and not friendly at all. One time I saw a customer requesting miss to hold and she had a frowning face. What type of service would you call this? As I continued to visit, the staff were more annoyed than happy to see me again. The food was still good, but the chips gotten very dry, with the fish being slightly soggy, the fish flavour nevertheless was still dominant. Overall, with the new staff, I was not impressed with their service. The new owners didn't even try making it good. So I may not come here again. Which is a shame because this used to be good. Fortunately, if any of the other customers miss the old owners, they are now working at Mr Kebab in Parks; the original owner decided to sell this to help his brother (who is at the Kebab shop), so your spiritual joys will definitely return!

I've had Tridents before ages ago and didn't know they had new owners. Gave it a try anyways and was very disappointed. The chips were clearly old and fried again. They were rock solid and inedible. The fish had a weird grainy batter which tasted horrible and dry and I've never had any fish from anywhere that's been that bad. I ended up throwing away 2/3rds of my meal and wasted my money. I will definitely not be going back and and would say to avoid.

The boxes the food came in were good and the taste of the curry sauce was nice. However, that was the only good part of the meal. Chips were disgusting. Chips were dry and crisp with no fluff in any of them, kind of like they've been cooked twice. Also, I found a hair cooked into the chip. The fish batter was rubbery and inedible, and on the battered sausage, the batter had clumps of cooked flour.

You go, order a simple rap, there are no people, you pay and they tell you you have to wait 15-20 minutes. Very big disappointment. I will never use again

This place has changed ownership and the new owners have unfortunately let the reputation of such a brilliant kebab shop down. Having been a loyal customer for years, the quality of the food has really taken a downturn. Weird flavours, reheated naan (which is hard and stale), small portions. They couldn't get a simple order right and customer service was non-existent. Such a shame as won't be going back anymore.

Absolutely disgusting chips, completely undercooked, we couldn’t eat them. Curry sauce tasted like thick gravy, battered sausages were full of grease, and for what the whole meal cost I’m fuming. I called and after the fourth attempt someone finally answered and their response couldn’t of been more unhelpful, she told me they would be soggy having been in the bag via transport, I really had to break it down that they’ve been serving undercooked chips, i mean really, how hard can it be to cook chips and surely they should of realised the chips looked undercooked! They only good thing about the meal was the blue slushy (words from my daughter). I was finally offered to travel back and change my chips, after that experience I think I’ll be staying away from this place. Word of advice, stay away

Occasional customer. Chip portions were stingy in the past but today’s standard portion was very generous indeed. The cod was succulent and perfectly cooked along with good batter. Maybe the chips could have been a tad crispier but overall very good tasty fish n chips. Pleasant staff. Good service. Recommended.

Terrible. Remember when this was the best fish and chip shop in Swindon? Not even close anymore. Many items missing from delivery, chips have become kids portions and the batter on all battered items was like a wet tissue paper.

Me and my partner took my nan and son for a cooked breakfast at this place. At first I was a bit hesitant as ive never eaten a breakfast in a chip shop before. But we was all pleasantly surprised at how nice and fresh the food was. Chips were way way undercooked (probably rushed) when ordering a large multiple dishes order for collection. Honestly, just cook the chips properly, it's only a few more minutes in the fryer. Doubt we'll bother again. It was a much better chippy when it was the Trawlerman.

Dont bother, better places elsewhere in swindon. Portion size has gone extremely down hill, a large portion is enough for one person. Called to see if they changed portions sizes recetly as they used to be good, all they did was blame it on the potato's and didn't care, had to go out and buy more chips to feed everyone, shame really as they used to be good but honestly don't bother. You will be disappointed.

Ok food, but not enough for the portion and definitely overpriced. If you're happy to pay £10 for a small burger meal then great, but you should ideally be paying £5 for it. I guess it's because of the location that it's more expensive. Could tell from the lamb patty that it comes in frozen and is then heated and cooked on the grill - so no sense of freshness or quality. Considering they're charging so much the service was poor, and the delivery of sauces in sachets was a shame as I thought they would have had a better process in place. Overall ok food, overpriced but if only place near to you and if you're willing to damage your wallet then go for it. :-)

We placed an order through JUST EAT. We thought make Monday night easy as my eldest had a sporting event at school and we thought ROOSTERS would be a great treat. We have used Roosters before and it was a family favourite UNTIL NOW. Order arrived, but it was the wrong order, okay busy night mistakes happen, so we rang up and they said they were sending out our correct order now.... it took over 20mins for less than a miles trip, the food was cold and the order still wasn't complete, we now had missing items. So we emailed them, whilst feeding the kids, only for the email to bounce back... we tried to message them on the website, but was told to ring the store... now this is the part where they have lost us as customers. On calling the store... we were called LIARS, didn't get an apology, and the manager despite hearing him bark at the young lady on the phone telling her what to say, REFUSED to speak to us. We were then told to ring Just Eat and complain to them for a refund. I have never had the displeasure dealing with such poor customer service before. I've been in retail years and I would lose my job speaking to unhappy customers like that. I'd happily forgive one mistake, but to make another mistake then deny responsibly and blame the customer is appalling. We didn't raise our voices or insult them like they did. We just wanted a refund for missing/cold food and ruining what should have been a family treat night.

The food in Roosters is always amazing. I usually order for delivery but made a rare trip to the town centre and ate in today - service was quick and polite and food was, as always, delicious. Keep your Cheeky Nando's, I'll stick with a saucy Roosters every time 😉

Yesterday we drove 1 hour from Bristol to this place to try a new halal restaurant, when arrived there were a few staff in the kitchen and no customer in the restaurant, we were hoping for a rather warm welcome but no one even said hi to us. We had to ask them if we could take a seat and whether we had to order at counter or by the table. We had a Groupon voucher and it took forever to process since the person who claimed to have worked there 7 years wasn’t sure how to put it through the till and had to call the manager who was not any more friendly than others. Generally the staff weren’t pleasant and made us feel unwelcome. Food was ok, we had Sirloin Steak and mixed platter, rice and mashed potato. The only thing that we didn’t like was the rice.

I wanted something quick for tea after a day out. I saw this on Google Maps and thought I'd give it a try! I had the spicy lamb wrap and the seasoned wedges. The wedges were very delicious, very good portion albeit slightly salty. The wrap was good, but looked rather cheap for the price. The plastiky burger cheese was used, along with a simple salad of lettuce, tomato and red onion. Staff were very nice and helpful. So overall 4 stars. - Brad

So yesterday all I ate was a fresh made sandwich and chips from home, and I had a milkshake from this place, I had chocolate and vanilla (which is different to my usual) and the boy that made it used the scabby-est drop of milk out of the bottomg of a 4 pint bottle, whilst drinking the milkshake I thought it tasted a bit funky but I thought that was just the new flavour I was trying, been up all night with the worst stomach cramps I've ever had, running back and forth from the toilet! Quite clearly the milk was old, had a feeling that something like this wold happen, but you'd think after paying £3.50 for a 250 ml milkshake that it'd at least be made with fresh milk! Not happy as I work in a place that prepares food so no work for me for at least 2 days!!!!

Food is horrible, kebab style. Chips tasted really oily, like the oil needed changing. The chicken was cold!! And the mayo and ketchup tasted real cheap and not nice! Staff were nice and friendly though so that's why extra star!

Chicken in black bean sauce was watery and tasteless. The special mixed curry was tasteless. The bbq sauce was like nothing I’ve seen before like a pot of jelly and all the meat was chewy the only edible thing was the egg fried rice. Waste of money go elsewhere,

I've ordered many times and the was absolutely delicious . What's happened the food now lacks flavour, ordered a beef and black pepper sauce beef was still raw.

I love this place. Honestly my favourite Chinese takeaway in the UK. Whenever I visit Swindon I look forward to this. The chips with the chilli and salt are crack. The chow mein is so yum and fresh and you can add all your favourite bits for super cheap. I LOVE IT

Not pleasant at all, it was all cold by the time it arrived as he said he had trouble finding us, we were baby sitting at our sons and it was him who recommended china kitchen because they have had it often… our experience is that we will never order from here again, spent over £50 just to bin it😞

Food was very bland, mushroom curry didn't taste like curry, tasted like mushrooms in a bland sauce. Egg fried rice only had a few bits of egg which were white not yellow. Very disappointing.

We have been ordering from China kitchen for a good few years now we are quite regular customers. Today we ordered special curry each and curry sauce to go with our chicken balls. Sadly both curries and sauce was not the same as always it was very Tangy we phoned the restaurant to ask if any ingredients or chef had been changed recently. We we told no change to both always been the same. The lady I spoke to didn’t really care about our food not being nice! Unfortunately it’s put us off ordering here now.

Now the chow mein was lovely I couldn't fault it, but that is where the good review ends I'm afraid! The chicken curry was not good, the sauce did not have a good taste and the chicken pieces smelt nasty, like a chemical smell and taste; hence to say I tried and spat out the piece of chicken I tried. I've never smelt or tasted chicken like it; I would not recommend it!! The chips were very dry and not that tasty either. This review is up and down, but for me and after some thought I would stay away from China Kitchen; I won't be ordering from them again but it's up to you if you want to gamble your money on China Kitchen!!!

The staff are top-notch, always clean and organized. The food isn't as impressive as at any McDonald's. However, at this particular McDonald's, the staff strives to do their best. However, the music is always very loud.

McDonald's franchise is going down hill. When you order for delivery, they always miss something. And when you call they try to put the blame on just eat. Or you try call just eat and they put the blame on McDonald's. You never get a refund and you never get the food that was missing. They get away with ripping people off. Its a waste of money. The only time its ever good is when you go to the restaurant. If they make a mistake you can tell them there and then. At the end of the day the food is in sealed bags that come from the restaurant therefore it is McDonald's mistake, if they forget something. They should offer to put it right. On multiple occasions my children have been upset because they didn't get an ice cream or 1 meal didn't turn up. I give up ordering online now. Never again. Oh and another thing they never answer the phone. It takes ages to get through.

Seriously, how bad can they actually get. You had 1 job Mc Donald’s & you couldn’t even get that right. 14 minutes to get served a single cheeseburger. I get that drive-through is busy, but the few people that were inside were all waiting for a long time. Meanwhile, an employee makes an order (presumably on a break), and a supervisor seeing him waiting, checks his number. I can only imagine in order to get him served quickly. A complete disregard for the people waiting inside the ’restaurant’

I was served Ada after having asked for a complicated order of just chicken selects, cheese and pickles. Ada was so helpful and spoke with me to make sure my order was correct. I had amazing customer service in response to my very unecessarily complicated order! very much appreciated

How is this place still open? Ordered on just eat after seeing it had relatively good reviews on there. We asked for no butter on our baguettes. Turned up, we had our chips first, which were OK, nothing special, then moved onto our baguettes. Noticed after a few bites that buried under the mound of the cheapest Sausages you'll ever see, that there was indeed butter in them. I had to spit it out, as butter is vomit inducing to me, I hate it. We then proceeded to phone them, to let them know of the issue. He got very aggressive towards to my partner who was on the phone, saying our order arrived 40 minutes ago, why are we phoning now, in a very accusing manner. I looked on our ring doorbell while my partner was on the phone to see our delivery was completed 23 minutes before the phone call. Enough time to eat a portion of chips, start eating the baguettes, then realise he'd messed them up. But he still went on about his driver was already back etc. He said he was going to check the order and get back to us... Never did. After all this, we started looking up reviews on this place, only to notice the real reason why its rated so highly on just eat... They're almost all fake. 7 reviews from "Pauline" in just 4 weeks, all 6 stars and the exact same text. It wouldn't surprise me if all the reviews on there that are positive, are fake. Disgusting how this angry little man, who speaks to customers the way he does, is still in business by duping people with fake reviews. A happy new year would be this place shutting down so he can't rob people of their hard earned money, with substandard food and horrific customer service.

Ordered on ubereats, we were starving and really excited for a breakfast wrap. An hour and a half later, no show. The driver rams and said they’d been knocking for 10 minutes, well obviously not cause we’d heard nothing and we have a dog who goes mental when they hear the door so we wouldn’t miss it. My partner walked around the whole area and no sign of anyone. We are the only one with our number in the area so again they’d obviously not knocked. Can’t get hold of the restaurant as it goes straight to voicemail. Can’t call the driver. So now trying to figure out how to get a refund as it’s still not complete on uber eats. Sort this out cause this is ridiculous. Do not recommend and will not order here again.

Avoid! this grease trap of a place if you want to actually stomach food. No surprise the 5* reviews are faked with this place lost count how many times Pauline reviews the same thing when we checked afterwards what a JOKE!!!! Packaging for the food was as greasy as the fryer let alone what the food was sat swimming in, the lads threw it straight in the Bin wasted money and lunch break. No hygienic preparation with the food that will serve. I have already collected food several times for customers who bought it through the App and I saw it not having any hygiene. I don’t recommend to order from MrCod, last order took 4 hours for my food to arrive. Call the restaurant 3 times and the excuse was the system, promise me twice that the food was almost done but after two hours nothing. The chats gives basic answers like call the restaurant but to answer the phone call takes like 10min.

I was visiting Swindon and visited this place. The owner was very friendly, kind and considerate of what I ordered which was a chicken burger with chips. He ensured the burger was fresh and give me some chicken wings for free. Really talkative and thoughtful. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Second time we ordered as every one has bad days. First time 2 sausages were missing from our order. Called them up, they were very rude telling me to check again in the bag, eventually put my partner on the phone and they agreed to bring out the missing food - which they didn't do. Today we ordered again and the food was all there but the burger was so gross and soggy, it had been thrown together no cheese or onion as requested, added it in at home no problem....can cut the soggy bit off. Nope the roll was so hard and stale I couldnt get a knife through it. Absolutely disappointing service and the foods not great either.

I got a good deal on breakfast muffin and hot drink combo for just over £2 and added a hash brown. It's cheaper than buying a meal. There was a queue as breakfast was just about to finish.

Went here with a friend today and was wowed by the fun, colour and fruit filled design, the best McDonald's I've been to in years, all the others are now grey, dull and boring. The staff were friendly and helpful particularly the blonde lady. We will be back as long as it stays bright and cheerful as it is now. I really recommend a visit.

I had an amazing customer experience over the phone with a lady called Catherine at the cockleberry roundabout McDonald’s. She was so friendly and quick and efficient in sorting an issue I had with my order and managed to catch it just before it left the store! Catherine fixed my issue and got it sent out quickly and everything still arrived very hot! Thank you so much for the friendly service Catherine 😁

Been here a couple times but this is the worst one yet. Watched our order get packed and then put to the side for over 15 minutes just sat there. After 25 minutes since ordering a member of staff realised we were still stood waiting and sorted our food. Everything was stone cold and there was more sauce outside the burgers and in the wrappers than actually in the burgers. Also confused on why the chilli cheese bites recipe had changed, bit of a downgrade. Improvement is needed for the cost of what it is.

Always a favourite for me especially the new arch burger absolutely love it when my best value items is the 20 chicken nugget box.. and a tip from the top if you chips are cold when you get them give them back and say you want warm chips cuz quite often they're cold

Used the drive thru, the person on the call was hardly audible hence moved to next window to our surprise there was no one so moved to the delivery window and lady requested to go back window and she will attend which she did. Upon collection found 1 item was less for which had to wait additional time. Overall the experience was bad the from customer service to delivery.

I think I have been to the best McDonald's. We were there with my daughter on April 26, we don't speak English. The staff was very friendly, the main manager man helped us and the staff showed us everything. Very clean.

9.30pm visit after a long journey and ordered from the touchscreen. We had to clean our own table because every table was dirty and had food underneath. When large chips were dished up by the manager half the chips fell out back in to the tray. When I said what about the large chips? I was grunted at and nothing was done about it. Another family walked in and had to clean their own table as well. Most disgusting McDonalds we have ever visited with uninterested manager. Husband complained directly to manager but he ignored him.

New menu, not expected an̈d chose from the, let's say budget menu, not impressed but the fries were really hot and that made a big difference. This one is usually busy but clean and tidy. Well staffed and we're polite. Table service used.

Staff are always cleaning when we visit here, which is reassuring. We ordered on the app and 'checked in' once we arrived at the carpark. Order was ready very quickly. Friendly staff. Great cup of tea. Decent sized car park with 2 disability bays. There is also a drive through here.

Fed up of having cold chips and coffee that just tastes of milk. Took our coffees back was given 2 fresh ones and they still tasted of hot milk and when you do complain they look at you as tho you are dirt. Today ordered a large white coffee which looked like it was just milk the young lady that changed it actually thought it was a latte it was that pale! Unbelievably they also take their time stickers off their hot pies, I know this because I over heard an employee tell another member of staff to remove them! So they are Selling food past it's keep hot by time. Hot food can only be kept hot for a certain amount of time and then must be binned, not labels remove and sold to the publicThis was once our go to branch but will be going to a branch further away from now on.

Food is very inconsistent, along with customer service. Some days the food and employees are amazing. However more times then not the food and service has been underwheling. Also they advertise 24-hour service but are not open during those times. Please correct these times.

The food is dropping to McDonald's level... The burgers are tiny and way overpriced, just had a delivery put through and spent 25 for 3 burgers and 2 "large" fries. The ceasar angus burger came wrong and was instead the chicken one.. and 9 quid for only the burger itself! I remember coming to burger king around 2 years ago and those burgers were way bigger, worth the price and more filling than this. I don't think I'll be getting it again any time soon

The interior is much better than how it was before the fire in 2021. Food still remained decent; I always enjoyed their chicken royal and their fries. But the service is not as good as before. It declined sharply. Much like many other restaurants here in Swindon recently, the receipt machine refuses to work and the staff doing the orders were just lazy, rude and just didn't bother to show manners.

Haven't had a burger king for years went today and the standards of the food seems to have dropped,the chips were mediocre at best the burger was ok but not how I remember burger king hate to say it but mcdonalds seems to be better,that is something I never thought id say. Wait time was nearly 10 minutes which id understand if the burger come out nice but it didn't

You cannot beat a Burger King! That slice of tomato and the mayo makes all the difference! The chips are much nicer than the other burger t/as too.

This burger king Swindon has recently opened after being re built after a major fire, its been a while since my last BK experience, and to be honest, it's only improved a little bit since then. There's very little inside seating and think it would be cramped when busy, plenty of parking spaces, Decor is vibrant & modern, there's six touch screen menus that when used were not sensitive enough had to realy push to select and scroll, fairly easy to navigate, but I find to many prompts to up order with each selection, easy to pay but no receipt given at my particular screen, The food , fries were fresh and crisp, onion rings pre- cooked and limp, the double whopper with cheese, bun was fresh salad fresh and plenty, the meat pattys were cold, so much so that the cheese hadn't melted..

The food was great but the customer service was really bad when we js wanted to confirm if the order we got was the same they were kind of being mean pls make sure the workers are being polite and nice towards the customers. Tbh it was such a bad experience.

I have never had The worst kfc ever. Milkshake it was just crushed ice. The chicken doesn't taste like kfc but dirty oil I will never dine in here again. It's disgusting

Since the new owners the food is amazing. Four orders so far and all have been perfect. Very professional staff. We forgot to add a salad called up and was treated so nicely. My new favourite place. The meal deals are brilliant priced to. Very affordable.

Stopped going here back last year after it had gone down hill and the food was always gross and not up to standard. Saw a comment on Facebook saying how much better it now was, so thought I would give it a go. It is so much better then it used to be the food is much nicer and the staff are a lot friendlier. The pizzas are now amazing I think personally better then Domino’s but that’s just me 😂. So much better under the new management if you haven’t tried it in a while then definitely give it another go it’s massively improved!

I'm very disappointed as this was my favourite place to order from and we've ordered loads of times but we ordered at 4.55pm food finally turnt up at just gone 6.30pm which is fine I understand they may be busy on a Saturday night but when we took the food out the bag all the polystyrene boxes had melted onto our food. We rang them up and they offered to come collect our food and then send new food out but we have 3 kids that were hungry and getting close to bed time as it was because of it taking so long to come. So we asked for a refund and they said they would come collect food and refund Well its now 11pm and noone has been to collect it and no refund! Will not be ordering again.

I usually get a delivery from Shaw which is great and a lovely delivery driver, but tonight I went in as I was local. The pizza was amazing very big and loads of cheese. The kebab was lovely as always but I did find tonight’s a bit greasy which it normally isn’t. The lady who works in the shop is very nice and friendly, great service. I will continue to use this as my favourite kebab house. Al

We felt like a cheeky burger & chips and decided to use the Shaw Kebab Takeaway for the first time in ages. We knew there were new owners so decided to try the takeaway again. The burgers and chips were delicious and portion sizes were large. The new owners are also super friendly and polite. I will definitely go back!! :)

Firstly, i hate giving one/two stars unless its 100% deserved.i start with the food. the wings-delicious, chiken wrap-ok, peice of chicken-ok, chicken burger-okish and chips-near perfect. Im a big spender on food but i felt this place was a total rip off and super expensive and the lady behind the till makes u feel worser this her shoddy and carless service. I bought 1 chiken burger, 1 chiken wrap, 1 drink, a pcs. of drumstick and a wings meal costing £26. What made it worser for me was when i asked for chillie sauce and peri salt i was demanded £2 more. Also the lady server can be heard laughing i the back and having a good time but when she comes to till to serve her facial expression is so depressing. Sorry guys but i wont be back. But good luck anyways

This was hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I went in to order a takeout for my food and was told it would be another 20 minutes. Fair enough — I waited in my car for 30 minutes. Went back in, and not only was there no explanation for the delay, but I watched them serving other people who arrived after me. Eventually, someone handed me my order with nothing but a casual “sorry” like it was no big deal. Already annoyed, I drove home — only to find they’d given me the wrong order. I had specifically asked for lemon & herb, and instead got the peri chilli sauce (the hot one). I had to drive all the way back, food in hand as proof, and when I explained the issue, they acted like it was my mistake, only after realising their mistake , they acted . No apology, no ownership — they even asked for the food back before giving me the correct one. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes on top of everything. Still no refund, no compensation, for the hassle. This kind of service is completely careless and shows zero respect for the customer’s time or experience. Absolutely not acceptable !

I went today for some lunch, no one behind the counter. I waited a few minutes still no one was there.i even said hello a few times to catch attention of staff behind the scenes. If there even was anyone but there wasn’t. No staff came out to serve me and I could’ve easily walked past behind the counter to take chicken unsupervised with 0 staff to serve me. What’s the point of staying open if you have no one working. Close the shop then if you obviously are lacking staff so unprofessional to claim your open when no one was there to serve me. This isn’t the first time there has been no staff to serve me or take my order when I’ve waited for about 5/6 minutes before just walking out. Very frustrating

1/5 stars* I recently visited Tennessee Chicken with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. I ordered the chicken wrap, which was pricier than I expected, but I was willing to pay a premium for quality food. However, the chicken inside the wrap was not fresh, which was a major disappointment. To make matters worse, there are several other restaurants nearby that serve delicious burritos and wraps at a lower price point with better quality ingredients. Unless Tennessee Chicken revamps their menu and focuses on freshness, I'd recommend exploring other options in the area.

Teneasse chicken is overly salty, excessively oily bony chicken. Not a proper piece of chicken. The wings description clearly states 5 hot wings and 10 hot wings, which equals 15 wings. I received 10 and their response is the description must be wrong on the website. Will never buy again, the chicken tastes disgusting and their customer service stinks. Worst food I have ever had.

Amazing customer service, this guy dropped their whole order while they were leaving, they just replaced the whole order without even having to ask for it, they came out and cleaned the mess and were very polite. And well the chicken wings I ordered were finger licking good as well; definitely going back. 👍

Best Peri Peri chicken in Swindon. Loved the taste, did it to perfection just as requested, spicy, juicy and chicken was cooked really well. Came to visit the city, glad we tried this place as a take out, wished they had plates or trays to go with as we needed to have it as we had the food out. But my family and I loved the food and was a good offer. Great and polite staff, very attentive and pleasant too.

Sleek, cold, and charmless — like someone asked an architect, “What if McDonald’s, but make it feel like a tax office?” Gone are the bright colours, the golden arches of joy, the play areas filled with chaos and ketchup. Now it’s all wood panels, neutral tones, and vibes that scream “We regret to inform you...” If I wanted to eat in silence surrounded by beige and existential dread, I’d just go to the GP waiting room and bring my own sandwich. McDonald’s, mate… we came for nuggets, not nihilism.

5 star review purely for one wonderful member of staff that made a family trip to McDonald's one to remember. A lovely lady called Diane had a great conversation with us and even managed to find a substitute squishmallow to complete our little boy's collection. Truly one of the best interactions I've ever had with a member of staff here. Diane is an absolute credit to the restaurant. Thank you for making our little boy so happy!

Not a bad McD's this one recently refurbished (Apr '25 ish), benefits from masses of parking. Has about 15 spots of its own, but is in the corner of the Orbital Shopping park which has hundreds, so also has Asda, M&S and a few other big shops right there. Food is typical McD's fare, has a drive though, some tight corners but you can get a VW T5 SWB round OK. Asda petrol just adjacent.

I like McDonald's you can't go wrong! I had a big Arch burger which was really tasty,staff are always friendly and busy all at the same time! Which is very impressive

Went in to order breakfast meal on screen in store wanted to add an extra hash brown screen said unavailable I asked why was told abruptly you can’t add another hash brown we don’t do that when I explained politely I did in another restaurant the previous day the rude lady said we haven’t done that for ages. So I left drove 4 miles to west swindon branch lovely staff and got what I wanted so if you want something that every McDonald’s in the country should be offering according to customer service and rude staff McDonald’s orbital north Swindon is the one for you or if you want great service and everything on the menu drive 4miles to a great McDonald’s at west Swindon

My wife and myself had the all day menu and the Sunday roast delivered on different days last week and all the food was excellent! The breakfasts, lunches and dinners were delicious and brilliant value for money. The Sunday roasts were also absolutely delicious and delivered still hot and with separate hot gravy. There was everything you could wish for in a roast and everything tasted freshly made and delicious. To finish the roast off, we both had cheesecake which again was lovely and filled us up for the rest of the day! We really don’t know how Fillerz do it for the price and excellent free delivery too! Cannot recommend enough! Terrific!

Bloody good waffles. Would recommend! I wanted to try a lot of different places I haven't been too and I am very glad I did! Order was great if you have social anxiety, minimal contact! Just a order board, they give you a beeper and when your order is ready it goes off and you collect it. Easy.. simple and delicious! For what minimal contact I had they seemed very polite and friendly which is a plus!

Very often use Fillerz for team meeting baps and a lunch time salad. The quality of the bacon and sausage is very good and was commented on by a number of our staff members. The Salad boxes are lovely, a good quantity of meat and very filling. Can't recommended these enough. Very friendly staff too. Many Thanks Fillerz

Very friendly service. Cod absolutely wonderful - thick and generous size. Nice to have choice of chips portion size, as 'small' is perfect, and 'large ' is excessive. Chips not the best, but less important than the fish, which is actually good for you!!! Will be back !!!

Had a Regular COD & Chips from here alongside kebab meat. The cod was nice, and the chips were probably the nicest in the area however the kebab meat was just rancid - it tasted like it was the cheap microwaveable stuff from Farmfoods Come here for the fish & chips as it’s well worth the money - but not the kebab meat.

Very good. All fish is cooked to order and tastes fresh. They obviously look after their oil. Chips are lovely and a good size, nice and fluffy. Pleased that they do All Steak pie. I don't know why more places don't do this, I much prefer it to steak and kidney. Good comprehensive menu and open till reasonably late.

After many years getting fish and chip from here, tonight's fish and chip was awful. The fish was not cooked fresh as the fish was not put on the draining cabinet. The fish was refried, over cooked batter and dry fish. The chip were mixed with refried chips as well. £16 pounds worth of rubbish. I will not be returning here again after many years . Andy would never serve up bad meals.

Man the chips are good. Fish was nice too, tiny tiny bit dry but really flavoursome and for those who like it, skinless, and the batter was as crisp as a shard of glass. Massive gluttonous two spring rolls per portion and made me feel like Mr Creosote and then they chucked in a couple of cheap breaded fishcakes for free. It’s the thought that counts. No excess grease but my doctor still won’t be pleased. Atmos 5 stars because they don’t deserve to be marked down and what do you expect for a chippy. Delicious.

Chips were definately refried and were old and hard and chip oil is reused, bitter tasting, you can tell they don't use fresh oil, chips I don't know what's happened to them but they tasted a day old and refried, won't be back, used to be good when Andy was owner

Worst chippy in swindon, Oil soaked potatoes is not what i'd call chips. Could not describe the curry sauce if i tried. Absolutely vile. All went in the bin, not a risk i want to take. Do not recommend at all.

Chips have always been excellent from here. Most food is cooked fresh and it is well worth the visit. You can even order and pay on line now as still only cash in the shop!

The food we did have, was nice. And price was also reasonable. Only problem was, I asked if the amount I’d ordered would be enough for the people it was feeding, I was told yes, it definitely wasn’t. The large chips would really have only fed one, definitely no more than that. The chips were good, but unfortunately they still had a lot of potato peel left on them, which isn’t my cup of tea. had I of know they wouldn’t have been big enough I would i’ve brought another large Portion, This was our first visit, I will probably return, but I will most definitely order more chips.

Been going here for years . Always been good . Tonight though . Not good . Ordered 1 haddock which was good . Freshly cooked ... 1 small cod and large chips .small cod was dry . Been there for hrs . Probably lunchtime . Chips were worse . Portion was measly. Loads of bad ones . Managed to salvage a handful each . Dog had some before the rest went in bin . Im Still hungry!. Waste of money ... Just an update ....bought this meal 3rd Nov 2023 . Yesterday . Last night my wife was violently ill and vomited 🤢 her fish up . Think a call to health officials is needed . When it was noffs it used to say where fish was caught and what trawler . What variety spuds were being used . Gone right down hill . Never again . A call Monday to food inspectors is on the cards . .

This was once an award winning chippy but not anymore. The fish was dripping in oil so much so it needed arm bands ! The chips were full of black bits and most ended up in the bin. The best part of the meal was the two cans of coke we purchased.

If I could give a minus review I would. Food arrived late. Rice was so stodgy and overcooked. When I called for a replacement I was met with the offer to refund but no replacement (meaning all I had was some chicken....not exactly a meal!) when I asked for replacement they said I'd have to pay for delivery again....I don't think it's unreasonable for an error to be corrected at no extra expense to the customer. Manager refused to talk to me so had to speak via the counter assistant who, when I politely argued my point (I never raised my voice and I empathised entirely with how busy they must be) she hung up on me. I called back thinking it was a mistake but they just hung up straight away proving it was intentional. They then refused to answer my calls. I've had no refund and by the time the ordeal was over (not sorted) the chicken was cold. Appalling "service" and I will not be ordering from here again. I strongly advise others to avoid as if anything is wrong, they will do nothing to correct it.

Been here a few times I don’t order much as it’s only me that eats it, spring rolls, Well the outside was no way a spring roll it was thick and well done the middle was all mushy, the chicken chow mein was as dry as a you know what and hardly any chicken def won’t be going back £13 quid for rubbish and way to expensive for what you get. Please don’t say you should have brought it back, it should be top Notch food in the first place

I only ordered egg fried rice to go with chips and curry sauce I'd bought at the chippy next door. First and last time I'll order from there. Rice was tasteless, like brown boiled rice. I called them and asked for a replacement they said to pop back for a refund as they would only give me the same rice again. I went back out of principle as it wasn't edible. They refused a refund as I didn't bring back the rice. I'd told them on the phone it was in the bin. 2 wasted journeys, what a con. Rude people too

You need more veggie dishes on the menu. Used to be able to order all the dishes in veggie style includin sweet and sour veggies .also you have no pineapple/banana fritters. Also white rice options..meal tonight was nice but not ideal for our taste.as vegetarians we like more options .thank you

First time trying since new management, Friendly front of house, tasty food and fast delivery. Really enjoyed the Thai green curry and Singapore rice noodles, yummy pancake rolls. Will be back again soon.

Normally excellent food, but tonight very disappointing, Beef Curry only had four pieces of Beef, Chicken Satay Skewers were very dry I could have resoled my shoes with the Chicken ! and the Egg Fried Rice certainly didn’t contain any Eggs, not sure what it was !! Not sure if we will be a returning Customer the Jury is out at the moment. Decided we are not going back, we now order from Eat Well in Gorse Hill Excellent Quality Food and Great Value for Money.

I've had food here a decent amount and some of the times haven't been the best and some have been alright Earlier today I had a meal the chips were moderate and sometimes like this they don't fill drinks to the amount they are meant to and go below the mark Also little addition the service can be relatively quick or very slow one drink with nothing else takes 5 minutes with sometime no to 7 other orders so have fun

8pm 13/12/23. Completely given up on this McDonald’s. Went in to order for takeaway. Had to check the bags and tell them they had missed 3 items from my order. Finally got home only to find my burger was missing the burger! The food was all cold which isn’t acceptable either for a 2 minute drive home. Sort it out.

Tried getting an employee discount breakfast wrap meal at the till after showing proof of working there, but would not serve it saying I need to use the app but you can't get an employee wrap meal on the app and refused to serve it even though it's been fine before and at every other mcdonalds.

Asked to ensure there was enough sauce added to the sweet & sour Hong Kong style, Yet when I opened hardly any sauce , rang up and they offered a pot of sweet & sour sauce next time I went in !!!!! Utter joke , if I could give 0 stars I would. THIS was the 2nd time I have had this problem but it will definitely be the last.. I will NEVER be returning to this restaurant if you’re looking for a Chinese avoid this restaurant at all costs !!!!!! Food is bland and they do not add enough sauce and very small portions…..

I genuinely can't understand some of these glowing reviews. It was edible, but that's it and very good value. But it was just so BLAND! Lemon chicken lacked zest. Chicken and mushrooms was pretty tasteless - had to add our own salt and pepper. The beansprouts with spring onions were supposed to be cooked with garlic but I didn't taste that at all. Definitely won't be ordering from there again which is a shame as it's our local.

1 of the worse place I've ever had a grill kebab, pitta bread was dry, lamb shish was disgusting aswell as the chicken shish half cookeed, staff who served me was arrogant, unfortunate for me it was the only halal to go to and never again AVOID AT ALL COST

We are or now "were" regular customers. We can't always go shopping in person. And sometimes we make the order for delivery. The last one was disastrous. Nothing we ordered arrived. Not even Coca Cola. It's enough. We called and there was no apology. They lie to my face. When I was clearly on the phone when we placed the order. I will never shop here again.

Been going here for at least 10 years in that time iv only ever had one bad kebab. Other kebab houses in swindon are simply just not as good. Most places have an undercooked donner and dosnt look or taste nice. It not like that here the kebab is allways nice golden and you can actually taste the lamb in the kebab there burgers are good too would defo recommend.

Food is great but the meat portions in the kebabs are mediocre, their extra large doner is about the same size as a medium sized one from other places. I would go there more often if the portions were decent. If the old man serves u ur screwed and you will get the tiniest kebabs in swindon

We called 21:39 to order, (closing time 10pm) we have done this many times before for years as we are a regular customer. We asked for 2 cod and chips, large salad and a cod on its own which the worker didn’t understand very well. There was a bit miscommunication and the worker started to get frustrated and said “you know what we are closed now there isn’t enough time” and rudely hung up straight after. We live less than 5 minutes away and this has never been an issue ordering around this time but they got too impatient over something they didn’t understand. They hung up at 21:43, 4 minutes on call and couldn’t wait for one more minute for clarification. As a shop you shouldn’t take calls from a certain point if you believe there isn’t enough time. Deeply disappointed.

DO NOT EAT FROM HERE I placed an order to have to delivered to great western hospital. The food didn't taste too good and I stopped eating it. The next morning I have been to the doctors due to being very poorly. I was very concerned about the pain in my stomach because I am pregnant and constantly vomiting (not because of morning sickness I’m past that stage) I’ve been told by a doctor this morning I have food poisoning. I called the place for a refund and told them I can bring the food back to them to prove it. Carmel was so rude on the phone. Wasn’t even bothered all she could tell me was that there hadn’t been any other complaints. My mother now has to stay in the hospital longer because of the food poisoning when clearly she was already poorly to start with. Now she has a whole new issue after having surgery. This is unacceptable.

Best Chinese we've honestly ever had. Food is 10/10 with loads of flavour and cooked to perfection will definitely be back again soon. Don't listen to the negative reviews.

Been using Oriental Express from the day we moved 8yrs ago and yet to have a bad dish. The consistency over 8yrs is remarkable, and the standard of food is second to non. Packed with bags of flavour, must have tried 80% of the menu now and it's all amazing 👏🏻. Greatest Chinese takeaway in Swindon hands down. Been to friends and family who say there's are the best, but when they come to ours they are all converted and never look back. Best in town keep it up 🙏🏻

We had a takeaway and when i took a bite of the prawns in batter the fish was off. It had a really strong taste. I phoned them up and all they could say was bring it back under my own steam. I asked why it couldnt be collected they said no drivers. This has made me ill. I would earge people not to go there. Their food is appalling and their customer service is even worse. I used to go quite often but never again. I am out of pocket and also ill.

Multiple bad experiences with the customer service in this branch and i’ve had enough. The food is the same as any KFC location. A few times I’ve overheard rude comments made by people at the back. We’re not deaf you’re standing 2m away! Also just got short changed in my last visit. Not a single person wants to work here.

Usually go penhill kebaby for fair prices with massive portions, tried this place & ordered a large doner for £8.50 which was pricey for what it is and was left hungry due to very small portions. please remember your selling kebabs from your van, your not a restaurant you don’t get to charge these prices especially when people use fuel to get to you. 100% won’t go back and will stick with my local.

Hands down best kebab in Swindon, incredible portions with a huge option of sauces and fresh salads, the guy who served us at the time was very friendly and chatty, he served a local who he explained had been eating there every Friday for over 5 years and I can't blame her!! For 2 burgers and 2 large cheesy chips we spent £15 which is honestly really cheap for take away. We have takeaway every 2 weeks and have now declared Camera Kebabs our place to go :) so happy it's local!

Shame good reviews. Doner meat looked like it had been cut with a Stanley knife, not 1 bit bigger than a stamp and crunchy kind of texture chicken. Dusty road with cars ripping up and down and seeing dust plumes fly into the van.... I was worried...1 🌟 is generous. Obviously just my opinion, but felt compelled to write a review.

I had a couple of drinks around my mates house about 2 weeks ago and his uncle kindly drove me to the kebab van from Wroughton. The food their was excellent quality and the staff where extremely friendly. I will defiantly go back their if I have another night at my mates.
