Park
Presque Isle State Park, located just across the bay from Erie, Pennsylvania, is a popular destination offering 11 miles of beaches, concert spaces, a lighthouse, lagoons and an environmental center. The park occupies a seven-mile-long peninsula with opportunities for swimming, fishing, bird watching, biking and hiking. Visitors can also enjoy nearby attractions like Waldameer Park and Water World.
Not from this state so I am thrilled to say, this is a MUST when visiting PA. Parking-Free, Beach-Free, Park-Free, bathrooms by beach are decent. You have changing rooms and showers. It's clean and beautiful environment. Definitely a great place to visit with family and friends. If you want more private beach, go to Beach 8. 10 am until 2 It's just peaceful.
Tai V — Google review
We had a quick stop before heading home. Beautiful park! Definitely want to come back and explore when we have more time. There are 6 different beaches entrances, 3 different piers, ferry rides and even a park. Beautiful!
Samantha V — Google review
Presque Isle State Park is an absolute gem along Lake Erie! The park is beautifully maintained, with clean restrooms, plenty of walking and biking trails, and several gorgeous beaches to choose from. Beach 6 and Beach 8 are the most popular, offering calm lakeshore waters perfect for families and a relaxing swim. My favorite is Beach 10 — the water there is crystal clear with open waves, giving it a more adventurous and refreshing feel. It’s a fantastic spot to just sit back, enjoy the breeze, and watch the waves roll in. Best of all, entry to the park is completely free! I highly recommend bringing your own food and turning it into a picnic — it’s the perfect way to spend a day by the beach.

Presque Isle was magnificent! I’m sure it’s super packed on the summer, but ours was a fall visit and while it was busy, it was not too bad! Great foot and bike paths. Lots of beach area, the water was great and the lighthouse didn’t disappoint even though it was closed. This was recommended from a friend and I’m so glad we went! Definitely worth the trip if you are within an hour or two drive.
Wendy H — Google review
This is seriously one of those places you visit and cznt wait to come too. Super safe, there's always rangers/ law enforcement driving around. Clean, with lots of garbage cans and restroom areas. I grew up around Lake Erie and I still get pleasantly surprised at how clear the water is at these beaches. Great place to grab Primanti Brothers and spend the afternoon.
D K — Google review
It is absolutely beautiful here. I love view. It's nice sand to walk in, we had a great time! Free to go, and you can rent boats. I think they are pet friendly as well. I didn't go anywhere other than the beach area, so I'm not sure about restrooms, picnic areas, or playground.
Tonya B — Google review
Best Beach ever! It's so clean and family friendly. My preferred beach is beach 8 but all the beaches are lovely. It's only a few hrs from pittsburgh and a lovely drive. There are several light houses to explore as well. They have bike and walking trails too. A must when your in the area.
Hannah M — Google review
The water was very shallow at beach 7, only up to hip height on an adult. We considered bringing floats but I was glad we didn't. I don't know for sure but we saw nobody using them &after being told we couldn't pass a pool football in the water I doubt floats would be allowed. Not the lake adventure we're used to &not what we were looking for. Beautiful area &you can see through the water all the way out to the buoy perimeter.

The Bicentennial Tower, constructed in 1996 to commemorate Erie's bicentennial year, stands at a height of 187 feet and features two observation decks that provide breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Erie, Presque Isle, and downtown Erie. This iconic waterfront landmark offers visitors the perfect vantage point to capture stunning photos of the city's famous sunset. Surrounded by lively restaurants and bars, the tower also boasts a vibrant abstract mural on its first observation deck floor.
Very nice. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the view was. You could see everything from up there. They have a viewing machine, which was super good. The employees were super nice and generous. I would have missed out if I skipped this wonderful viewing tower.
Shad L — Google review
A beautiful tower on the end of a pier with a small restaurant and gift shop at the bottom. It is in a nice location with many things to do nearby and multiple boat tours are available on the pier as well. The views are the main reason to go up to the tower and they were great, could see over as far as you could see on lake Erie and the entire bayfront. They do have an elevator so you don't have to walk up all those stairs lol. I would recommend stopping by here if you are in the Erie area.
Captain J — Google review
Beautiful views!!! Definitely worth the small fee. We noticed it when we were at the maritime museum but had run out of time so we went the next day. Good for all ages. Loved the elevator after the stairs at the land lighthouse!
Sabrina D — Google review
We came here on a Sunday afternoon in September. We bought tickets onsite and there was no wait. The cost was $6/person. A staff member took us to the observation deck in an elevator. Not sure if there are steps to walk up if you choose to or not - it didn’t seem like that was an option. The view from the observation deck was great. Looking at the website and seeing some other reviews, it’s unclear to me if there is a second observation area. If there is, no one told us about it so we missed it. I don’t remember seeing any elevator options to go up any higher. Parking was easy. There was a shared lot and there were plenty of spaces. It was a very nice day, I was surprised there weren’t more people here. We enjoyed this visit.
Miss V — Google review
This was a fantastic stop on a motorcycle trip back to Ohio from Watkins Glen, New York. For a $6 fee, you can take the elevator up to the viewing deck at 136'. On a clear day, (which we had) and the use of their articulating binoculars, you can see 70 miles due north to Port Dover, Ontario.
Jeremy S — Google review
I mean it's a tower with an elevator (thank goodness) but it did have excellent views of Lake Erie. And the staff was really nice and seemed excited for us to be there.
Kristin Z — Google review
The Bicentennial Tower in Erie is a great place to visit. From the top, you get a beautiful view of the lake and the city. It’s definitely one of the must-see spots in Erie, PA

Ticket price was $6 per adult. The views were nice. Elevator was fast and there is an indoor section at the top of the tower for bad weather.

The Erie Maritime Museum, homeport of the U.S. Brig Niagara, offers interactive exhibits and displays, including a full-scale reproduction of the historic ship. Visitors can explore the museum's collection dating back to 1812 and learn about the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie from enthusiastic volunteers. Families can board the 1800s sailing vessel and discover artifacts from its original construction while hearing stories about its history.
"Two Larry's and a Bob" - these guys made for a great experience, not only for my husband the museum enthusiast but for me who is the complete opposite. We were able to see all the exhibits, watch the corresponding videos, and listen to the group teachings in about 1.5 - 2 hours. I actually learned a fair amount of history during this tour and enjoyed the time there. The overall atomsphere was welcoming, educational, and a little funny- can't go wrong with the occasional dad joke lol. Going to a museum is usually the last thing I'll do for fun, but I'm glad I did this time! Go support the cause and learn some history before the ship sails, you won't regret it!
Eleni D — Google review
This museum is 1 of the coolest museums I have ever been to. If you are ever in Erie and want to learn about naval ships, Lake Erie, and the War of 1812? You can go no further. There is so much information about it and how the city of Erie came to be. It amazed me in the view at the back of the museum of the USS Niagara. The back of the museum has a dissection of the frigates during the time of 1812 inside and out. I haven't gone to the 2nd floor, but I have yet to go back and finish. It's worth going back.
Nick M — Google review
A lot of great information on the history of the battles on the great lakes. It was pretty cool that this building used to be a power station and they left one of the main generators in there for you to view as well. Decent size for a museum but it's just what you would think of any museum, great knowledge of history. I can definitely say I did not know hardly anything about the naval battles until I visited here, but now I do.
Captain J — Google review
This museum is absolutely wonderful. The exhibits are interactive and well created with plenty of artifacts. There is a life size replica of the Lawrence with real cannon and bullet holes! The museum also offers tours of the Flagship Niagara, but that was not available when we visited. The museum gift shop is also closed as of writing this review so plan on going to another store for local merchandise.
MattiasFen — Google review
Excellent history for America’s Navy in the Great Lakes from the War of 1812 to the transition to the Coast Guard working with Canada to control our border. Do not miss the outstanding art work and photos showing the US Coast Guard on the mezzanine. In addition to the historic displays, also excellent exhibits on how sailing ships determined depth and speed.
Victor C — Google review
Awesome experience! I did not expect a guided tour, but Ron, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of the maritime Erie. Fascinating and educational. Today was the first day they started doing the tours, so I was fortunate to be in the group. Would have loved to sail on the ship, but it's under repairs and will be operational next year. I'm happy to have picked a quiet Sunday, so it was not busy, and there were NO NOISY KIDS, so that was a plus! Definitely recommend if you around Erie. 🫡
Jasmine — Google review
Pretty cool place. I enjoyed it. Interesting videos to watch at various stops, tons of amazing history!
Doug C — Google review
Awesome maritime displays and great information. Really loves how the tour was laid out in the time line and gives you a great idea of what happened to the ships stationed in erie. Staff and volunteers were friendly and very knowledgeable. If you like military history this is definitely a great place to check out. Don't forget your AAA Card, we saved $6.

The exhibition features works by notable artists and presents an array of portrait styles, from formal studio shots to documentary-style photographs and street photography.

We had the pleasure of coordinating a March wedding at the Erie Art Museum, and it was such a unique and memorable venue for a wedding reception! The space has an eclectic, artsy vibe that creates the perfect backdrop for couples looking for something beyond the traditional ballroom setting. From the architecture to the gallery spaces, the whole venue has this creative energy that really sets the tone for a fun and personalized celebration. We also loved that we were able to get in early on the wedding day to begin setup, which made the timeline so much smoother for everyone involved. The flow of the space worked beautifully for both dining and dancing. Highly recommend this venue if you're looking for something with charm, character, and that artistic edge!
Heather V — Google review
Awesome museum! We enjoyed exploring the various rooms of well curated art, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I appreciated the various elevators throughout the museum, making it quick and easy to get to the various levels within the building. Parking was a little strange due to construction and various odd meters, but it wasn’t annoying enough to deter a visit. I’ll definitely be back for future exhibitions!
Joie M — Google review
I wanted to give this give a 3 or 4 star. Yes it’s a very nice venue, however I was very disappointed with a late notification given by the venue manager. Here’s the story in a nutshell. After traveling 14 hours from Atlanta for a wedding back in September 2024. I arrive at the venue early morning the next day. I’ve 3 spaces to set up for Wedding starts at 4pm. After setting up I prepare to leave out around 2:30pm so to shower and get dress. As I’m leaving out I’m approached by the venue manager and told my equipment in the middle hallway where the reception will be taking place is to close to the walls and I have to move everything about 3 feet more away from the walls. This infuriated me, why wait so long to say this to me. I know for sure I’m going to be late if I reset everything. So I did what I could and pulled things out but left it as that. Once I return to the venue I’m being rushed in every direction. Even my DJ set up in the stage area / head table area was change with boxed me in between the steps and the stage. I will still give this venue 5 Stars because it is an awesome venue to have your wedding. But it definitely should be noted that in the center hallway nothing is to be closer than 5 feet from the walls. I do reside in Atlanta but born and raised in Erie, PA. Contact me about my All Inclusive East Coast Wedding Package. Google: DJ Primo ATL I’ll post photos at a later date.

All Art Museums deserve 5 stars. We showed up during an event so there was no entry fee but we still made a donation. Top floor was full of wonderful art. The lower levels were limited to some more modern stuff that we weren’t crazy about. That’s being said, well worth the visit.
Josh B — Google review
We went for the drawing/painting 🖌️🎨 tutorial, from some of the local artists. We even, accidentally, (Because the table buckled!) spilled India Ink on the floor and they happily cleaned it up for us! Plus, the whole building is bigger than it looks from the outside!!
Valerie L — Google review
We had our wedding here in Aug 2022 and we were incredibly happy with the entire process. Our wedding coordinator (and wearer of many hats at EAM) Laura F was an absolute delight to work with. She was professional, kind, and proactive. Anytime there was an update or decision to be made, Laura was on it. She even made sure the groom got an empanada at the end of the night before they were gone because she knew he was excited about them. I hope that everyone has a Laura to wedding plan with. The space itself is excellent for a ceremony and reception and allows for a lot of flexibility. Our guests were able to relax by the bar or on the patio, wander the museum, or take it to the dance floor. Highly recommend EAM to anyone who's looking for a unique wedding venue in Erie.
Annie O — Google review
An interesting space of modern architecture at the entrance, with slanted ceilings and diagonal walls displaying pieces of art. The corridor leads to the elevator and beyond into a historic building of brick and concrete. Throughout the rooms and nooks fascinating artwork is presented. A wide old concrete stairway leads to the top floor where you will find beautiful Victorian architecture between spacious rooms with high ceilings holding even more art. Worth experiencing if you are in Erie.

The Tom Ridge Environmental Center at Presque Isle State Park is a comprehensive complex that offers insights into the park's history and the Great Lakes region. It serves as a museum, welcome center, and gift shop, providing visitors with an introduction to the unique history of Presque Isle and educating them about its diverse ecosystems and wildlife. The 65,000 square-foot facility features historical exhibits, educational displays, and a 75-foot observation tower offering panoramic views of Lake Erie and the surrounding countryside.
We were greeted at the entrance by towers of Automatons, learned about issues Lake Erie faces like plastics and invasive species, climbed the observation tower, and watched an amazing film about Space! Except for the film the Enviromental Center is free! The staff there was friendly and very patient with my active children.

Discover the rich history and diverse species of the Presque Isle area at this engaging stop. Be sure to visit the gift shop and enjoy the stunning lookout from the tower.

Our toddler loved it the little children discovery center. Free to enter would be perfect for rainy days. Was nice to play on little playground outside. Also we got our PA stake park book stamped at the information booth for erie bluff and presque isle .

We stopped here on a Sunday morning in September on our way to Presque Isle state park. We only came here because we saw that they had an observation deck. You take an elevator up (or you can take the stairs if you choose) and it’s a nice view - we saw some turkeys. The rest of the center has several interactive exhibits and learning opportunities. This would be good for kids. We looked around a little bit but didn’t stay very long. We got a map of the park from the front desk. The people there were friendly and helpful. There was no cost to enter and no fee for the observation deck. There was plenty of parking and no line to get in.

Outstanding display and educational activities related to Presque Isle and Lake Erie. Observation tower with extensive views, massive 6,500 foot screen theatre with quality shows and interactive activities for children and adults. This is an Erie gem
Nancy E — Google review
On this trip to Erie, we made it to the center before closing hours. The tower view of the lake was lovely on today's crisp blue-sky day. On the second floor, there was a very nice display of mixed medium artwork by a fairly local artist to view and/or purchase. The display of "lake memories" from my generation and older reminded me of Sundays spent on lake Erie (by Buffalo) with extended family. Loved it! Very helpful, friendly volunteers and staff. I just wish they ran the last showing of the film closer to closing time. We missed the last showing by minutes but still had 90 minutes to tour the center.
Susan F — Google review
Tower was cool and it was awesome for them allowing this to be free. Museum was neat. They only compliant would be the crazy faucets in the restroom. Not sure how someone can wash their hands properly with having to hold onto the metal device for water to come out. No way you are able to clean your hands, more like spreading germs to everyone.
H — Google review
Amazing and educational FREE center! So many displays full of history and information that is so valuable. Whether you are a visitor to Erie or a local, this place is like a museum that anyone can enjoy. I loved going up the tower to see the beautiful views of the lake and surrounding areas. The employees/volunteers here were so nice, helpful and gave us tons of useful information. Can’t wait to come back on my next trip to the area.

Nestled in the lively atmosphere of Presque Isle Downs & Casino, LBV Steakhouse offers a serene dining experience with private booths, soft lighting, and soundproofed walls. The casino itself provides an array of entertainment options including thoroughbred horse racing bets, slot machines, poker, and other table games. Guests can also enjoy live shows while indulging in the thrill of the races.
Very clean casino plenty of non-smoking and for the smokers there was smoking sections as well. There was a wonderful steakhouse attached to the casino. Every 10 minutes or so you heard a jackpot siren 🚨 There was plenty of table games and there was no drama. The atmosphere was nice with good lighting. Club rewards were fun and for new members you get a free spin on the wheel for free play. Tons of slot machines and up to date ones with all the flashy lights and tons of progressive jackpots to be won. I had a great time.
Thomas K — Google review
Absolute shit I literally waited 25 minutes for an employee to come to the machine and retrieve my voucher. It literally took me talking to 4 different employees before one decide to stop at my machine. The payouts suck, the casino sucks and the lack of staff sucks! Not to mention, the bar upstairs closes at 10 p.m. What a joke! I'll never be back to this place. Reminds of the Weirton Casino... Probably same owners. 25 minutes for this!!!
Darrin S — Google review
I’ve been to Presque Isle Downs Casino a few times over the years, and it’s definitely changed a lot. These days it feels like the entire place is packed with slot machines — I don’t even think I saw a roulette table anywhere. If you enjoy slots, it’s fine, but honestly, you can get a similar experience online. The only real advantage to playing here in person is that the machines are constantly being played by different people, so sometimes you might get lucky and hit a payout right after someone else has been playing the same one. It’s not a bad spot, but it’s lost some of the variety and atmosphere it used to have.
Gwynn — Google review
My first time here from Buffalo. Casino is very nice..games are a nice change from what Im used to seeing..The restaurant upstairs was very nice..horse track views was cool becuz they were racing the day i was there. My steak was good..I still dont like the smoking inside of a big open space. Smoke travels..I think they should be behind glass doors like Batavia casino. The cafe could have more options than what they do. Idk if that was strategic to force people to go upstairs and eat but thats my opinion.

Stupid security personnel forced us to park at this parking lot a quarter mile away knowing one of us is handicapped. There’s no safe access from here for us. The sidewalk is a trip hazard with broken drains on it. Never again.

I was backed off playing blackjack because the security considered me as an advantage player. Well, my bet wasn’t at crazy sizes but they still ask me to leave the table. Still, it’s a nice place that has friendly staffs and locals. Had a great time there being the only asian around.

Shopping
Millcreek Mall Complex is a laid-back shopping destination in Erie, offering a variety of department stores, popular fashion retailers, a food court, and even a play area for kids. The area around the mall is generally safe for tourists, with minimal violent crime. However, certain parts of East Side and near the General Electric plant may have more urban and rough areas. It's recommended to avoid these neighborhoods as they don't offer much for visitors anyway.
Wow is all I can say….. I was completely blown away by how busy this mall was. It almost felt like I was having a flash back to the 90’s, LOL From the moment I parked and myself, partner & 2 boys were walking in… you saw kids and parents, picking and dropping off kids and teens and it was almost like a mad rush just to get inside. Once we got inside, wow!!! So busy and so many thriving stores. It was such a relief to still see a busy thriving mall. That’s a rare thing to see now days. I get that Erie is a cold wintery place to be and live, which doesn’t leave much to do. But whatever you’re doing, plz keep it going and keep it alive. There’s so many stores and I don’t think I saw hardly any empty ones. My kids were just as blown away as my partner and I were. They can’t wait to go back again someday. We don’t live in the area, and we visited Erie for a weekend adventure. Needless to say, they can’t wait to go back and visit again. I didn’t get many pix, but I got a couple odd ones. One inside Spencer’s at some t-shirts, a Skechers window walk by & the entrance to the round 1 & 5 wits.

Lots of parking and clean on the inside. The smoking pits and arcade game rooms are long gone. The new Round one arcade even has a bowling alley. There is a small play area for younger children inside. Decent variety of shops and anchor stores.

This is another mall thats still going strong with a near full tenant occupancy. Malls are on a rapid decline across the US but this one is still finding ways to go strong with a large variety of stores present. There are all the usual mall stores with some new and local stores in the mix as well. A great way to spend an afternoon wandering the mall buying a few things🙂

Went to Dick sporting goods. Everyone there is very polite and willing to help. There was an employee in every department. Huge selection of baseball, soccer, football, tennis, and have anything to do with sports. It's all there. A little pricey but the selection is good.

Traveling in from Syracuse NY. Really solid mall here. Went on a Friday afternoon. Mall was quiet, appeared to be clean, great selection of stores. Little bit of everything no matter who is with you. Definitely going back!

Nice location and right off rt. I 90 or turn at rt 79 north. Easy in from many sides. Close parking and easy access to all stores. Very clean place with many variety of stores. The food court had a nice choice on food tastes. Prices are same as other Malls. Clean restrooms and nice room to move if in a wheelchair.

This store offer wine tasting right up my alley. The guy was very informative, friendly, polite and professional. He told us a very interesting story about man that had sixteen children by one woman. Wooooo Lawd help this woman anyway that's all I remembered lol. I'm a lover of sweet wines. He suggested the Strawberry wine and it was sweet and delicious.

Total win for Erie. The arena was packed, the crowd was electric, and the Mammoths delivered on fun, flair, and local pride. John Oliver’s wild rebrand was weird in the best way—mascot, merch, fireworks, all on point. 🎉 Final Verdict Erie Insurance Arena + Moon Mammoths = a must-see experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went here for a concert, but still really enjoyed the venue. Parking is a bit sparse, though there are structures near by (a couple of them were full due to the games/other events goong on in the city) so plan ahead. Otherwise, it's not a bad place to spend an evening!

I had the pleasure of helping make one of my 14 year old Son's dreams come alive this evening at Erie Insurance Arena. After a long wait AEW finally came to our city to put on a show for us. It was worth the wait in so many ways. Erie Insurance Arena in itself is a very modern state of the art thing of beauty. You never feel crowded in. We were blessed with handicapped seating in section 109 with an incredible view, plenty of space, and electrical outlets. Perfect for a teenager that is ventilator dependent or anyone who requires special equipment. The staff are wonderful at the arena. Even with the armloads of devices we had to bring they were courteous and got us through security quickly. I had been to the arena before to see The Bayhawks(RIP) and also TSO in concert and also had good experiences. Tonight tops everything though. You don't often find a place that you can take someone with special needs and have a great time with absolutely no difficulty. We did tonight at the Erie Insurance Arena watching AEW Wrestling.

I saw President Barack Obama. I drove in from Rochester New York. There was plenty of parking. The line to get through security was long but moved pretty quickly. Found my way around easily. Really enjoyed the event.

😩 They were in no way prepared to facilitate the thousands of fans who came to see Nate Bargatze. Traffic near the venue was at a standstill for at least a half hour trying to reach the parking garage, then we waited in line outside for another hour and finally reached our seats a little after 8. The show was set to begin at 7. We missed quite a bit of the show, but fortunately saw Nate, who started at 8:17. Very disappointed in how poorly managed this event was. The public - ticket buying consumers - are not pleased. No Erie for us again.

The expERIEnce Children's Museum in Erie, Pennsylvania is a vibrant and educational center for kids of all ages. With hundreds of interactive exhibits, children can explore various subjects such as science, technology, engineering, math, arts, and more in a safe and well-lit environment. The museum features themed rooms like the Tech Zone for robotics and coding, an Art Gallery bringing art history to life, a Kids Castle for pretend play, and even an exhibition with animatronic dinosaurs.
Loved the Erie Children's museum! There's so much to do since the remodel. There are 3 floors (with elevators) with plenty of things to do. There's also an outdoor area that will look really nice when the weather warms up.

The museum was pretty good! We’ve visited lots of children’s museums along this coast and always enjoy exploring something new and different. This museum had something none of the others we've been to had—a woodwork station where kids could hand-drill holes in wood, hammer in nails, and grind pieces of wood. They also had some creative painting ideas for kids, including a paint spinner. You insert a piece of paper, close the lid, pour paint into the opening, and when it's done spinning, you let it dry—very cool! Kids could also draw on windows using wet chalk, which was a fun and unique activity. The dinosaur exhibit was another highlight. The kids loved building their own dinosaurs. Overall, it was a really fun and hands-on experience that the kids truly enjoyed.

First visit here and well worth the drive from Ohio. Brought my 3 yr old grandson and would give it 10 stars if he could. His imagination was on overload, there was so much to do. His favorite thing by far was the water table and pirate ship downstairs, we spent over an hour just there. The mock grocery store, restaurant, and vet clinic were also big hits with him. If you are thinking about visiting you should stop thinking and make the trip. We will absolutely be back.

We absolutely LOVE going to the Children's Museum. The areas she spends the most times in are the Veterinarian Clinic, Restaurant (Erie Eats), Grocery Store (Wegmans- which she knows well), play place, and the giant water table. She also loves doing the crafts, mechanic shop, and the construction/building area. I think they have done a wonderful job on the renovation.

The theatre's art deco design is complemented by dazzling Czechoslovakian glass chandeliers that illuminate its historic charm.
Very nice theater! Seats were good in balcony. I drove to Erie from Ohio to see Collective Soul concert. Found reasonable parking within a short, walking distance of theater. If I lived in area , I would definitely not hesitate to go to events here. Everyone I encountered working there, was pleasant and helpful. Good experience! Fun night!!

What a beautiful theatre!! The staff were so friendly and eager to share about the history of the theatre. I loved that the bar areas were spaced out, keeping lines moving faster. The seats were a decent size and comfortable, too. We enjoyed our time there.

We saw a concert there. Had great seats- 3rd row center. Theatre was nostalgic, staff very helpful. Needed more toilet stalls on 1st floor women's bathroom. Theatre seats were uncomfortable...small and dated. Parked on street. Neighborhood a little sketchy. Concert itself was fantastic. Will return next time in town.

I can't say enough good things about the Warner theater. I live in Pittsburgh, it takes 2 hours to get to Erie and I drive it again just for the theater. It's a beautiful old-time restored theater that is comfortable, warm and the staff are amazing. I wouldn't go on about a theater unless it was absolutely over the top special. And the Warner theater is just that, over the top gorgeous.

It is a quaint venue. Jamey Johnson -The Last Honkey Tonk Tour was awesome 🔥🔥🔥Band was fantastic!!! Tickets were reasonable, good crowd -some had a few drinks in them a little loud. Staff were great, security tight **not a bad seat in the house. Thank you for keeping this land mark.💜

I can't say enough about this wonderful, historic venue. It's in the heart of downtown Erie with ample parking within a few blocks. It's wonderful for shows and concerts, has great acoustics, and there's not a bad seat in the house. Speaking of seats, they're very comfortable. There are an abundance of ushers who will assist you in finding your seat. The restoration was incredible, restoring it to it's original beauty. The interior is nothing less than breathtaking! If you come first an event, the second event included is experiencing this beautiful historic site. There aren't many Warner Theaters left!

What a beautiful theater! I love the art deco and Renaissance design. It was a wonderfully intimate viewing experience, and probably any seat would be nice. The parking deck across the street was awful, and there was no working elevator. It was not disabled friendly at all. My advice would be to use the parking for the stadium next door.

The Erie County Historical Society at the Hagen History Center is a significant museum housed in a 19th-century Richardsonian Romanesque brownstone mansion. It features over 40,000 donated artifacts and objects that showcase various aspects of life in Erie County's history. The exhibit spans six floors, covering topics such as farmlands, railroads, industry, education, military affairs, and public works projects.
We went when they had a free event several years ago for the opening of the renovated house next door. It was amazing! My late father took us to the museum there when we were kids…and I’m 73! Only the basement, 1st and 2nd floors were open back then….I had never seen the upper floors! The ballroom was amazing! The only issue was climbing all those stairs! I’ve had both knees replaced since then! LOL! Look forward to visiting again, when we come up to Erie for our yearly visit since moving to Tampa Bay Area!

Wow! When I first moved to Erie, 11 years ago, I checked out the Watson-Curtze museum. It was beautiful. I enjoyed it. The history museum was still on State, and while it while small, it was cute for a a small city. This current visit, was INCREDIBLE!!’ Thank you for doing such a great job. I learned so much about our city and I can’t wait to come back.

We had a birthday celebration at the Center and the space was beautiful, the staff attentive and helpful, and the guests just loved the event. I can't say more wonderful things about Rick and Caleb who made the day go off without a hitch. Afterwards the guests toured the main house and oohed and ahhed their way through the magnificent rooms.
Kim W — Google review
I grew up in southeastern PA, so I had no idea about Erie, the history, people, industry, etc. The Hagen History Center has all that! Exhibits involved a lot of reading, displays had a little bit of interactivity, and I got the impression they painted a pretty rosy picture of Erie and the hard stuff (like racism). I'm a Frank Lloyd Wright nut, and being able to walk through his actual San Francisco office was a real treat! If I went back, I'd do a guided tour. When we were exiting, a tour guide was talking about Frank Lloyd Wright, and she was really interesting and engaging. F or a $10 admission, you get access to three buildings, so it's well worth the cost.

The Firefighters Historical Museum, located in the former Erie Engine Station #4 from 1903, is a treasure trove of firefighting history. Visitors can explore a wide array of artifacts and memorabilia spanning from the 19th century to modern times. The museum offers insights into different fire departments, their evolution, and the tools used throughout the years. Notable incidents such as the Great Fire of 1916 and the 9/11 attacks are also showcased.
This is a very interesting place to visit especially if u were or are a firefighter. The display of equipment and history this fire station has is mind blowing, was only planning on being there a half hour and didn't walk out til almost 2 hrs later. The gentlemen that gave the tour was great knew alot bout all the stuff in there n was very nice n friendly. Very recommended to visit. We came from out of state and we planned to visit this museum - tucked in a residential neighborhood. We parked off street just watch closely the parking signs. The tour guide was Great explaining all the history and artifacts pertaining to firefighting. Huge collection of antiques and vintage artifacts, memorabilia and select trucks from horse drawn to early 1900’s. Two floors and the back section. Guided tours. Took about an hour and a half to go through. Learned so much about historical firefighting. Worth the money we paid. The couple who manage this place were friendly and nice. Some souvenir shirt available at affordable price. Bring your kids - they may get inspired like we were. We left with a greater appreciation of how firefighters sacrifice for us to be safe. Thank you - we love it. Worth the trip.

This is an awesome collection of firefighter antiques and memorabilia. The history of these heroic public servants and their equipment is absolutely amazing and must be shared with our younger generations! Many thanks to the retired firefighters who preserve this important part of American history for all of us. Pulakos Chocolates, a long-standing confectionery in Erie, has been crafting delectable treats since 1889. Their assortment includes French truffles, caramel delights, fruit jelly slices, and their renowned sponge taffy. The establishment prides itself on preserving four generations of recipes and techniques. Visitors can also take a tour to witness the chocolate-making process firsthand.
An Erie tradition for more than 100 years. They have terrific products here that will exceed any expectation you have for chocolate treats. All of their products are always fresh and made-from-scratch, lovingly crafted so that the love they put into it is evidenced by the taste. They have a quality product and it costs an appropriate amount, considering the quality.

I recently discovered this candy shop from a recommendation of my mother. This chocolate shop clearly has a lot of history to it, there's a wonderful little museum on the right hand side, it will probably only take 5 minutes to view all of it but it's really wonderful. The chocolates here are wonderful and of course they are known for their sponge candy. I bought a bag for my mother and of course they had this very unique item of sponge candy maple syrup which I bought and shipped back to my house. The share is phenomenal and even though this place has been here for a long time it's incredibly well kept and clean.
Jeremy B — Google review
I grew up in Erie and we always went to Pulakos. Their products are wonderful. Since I haven't lived there for many years now, we stop in every time we are home for a visit. We also order products online for shipping. This is where the problem comes in. I request and pay for UPS Ground, but they end up shipping USPS which is cheaper. While I have gotten a credit, there is a reason I choose one method of shipping over the other. Please, pay attention to the requested shipping method on your online orders.
Elizabeth R — Google review
First of all, their prices, like on chocolate strawberrys, are beyond outrageous! I thought it was a joke at first. I mean chocolate for them, pennys/gallon...strawberries cost next to nothing (go down rt.5)...But, I mean if they can get it off.... 8 But as for their chocolate...now I'm no expert or anything, but I did grow up poor, and ate allot of cheap choclate in my life...I know the taste very well...so I was trying some chocolate peanut butter cups, I received as a gift, and figured, I misread the name and it said "Palmers": not pulakos.I mean I'm not an experienced Taster, but to me, it has the cheap chocolate taste to me

Visitors can enjoy watching a game, participating in one, or simply soaking up the lively atmosphere with other baseball enthusiasts.
The park was clean and intimate. The staff was very friendly. The diamond itself was in great shape, and the game tonight was fun. Food and drink are reasonable. You have to try the pepperoni balls

Pretty decent looking ballpark. First time here on my quest to hit all the minor league ballparks. Ticket prices were fair, $15 for admission. A little disappointed that they don't offer military or veterans discounts. Wasn't the greatest game to attend as the SeaWolves lost. Good promotion of $2 beers, sodas, and hot dogs.
Brian D — Google review
Nice AA baseball stadium in the heart of Erie. Small stadium but that means you are close to the action on the field. Was there to support the visiting team, sat in 5th row next to visitors dugout and was so close we could hear the conversations in the dugout. The concessions had all your typical food options. Team shop was modern, clean, and had great selection. If you go for an evening game and do not want to be in the sun sit on the 3rd base side.
Melanie C — Google review
This park is beautiful!! Great to watch the Seawolves play!! You can enjoy from any place you sit and be close to the action, there really are no bad seats!! I love how the kids can run around during the game and try to catch the balls that fly out of the stands and how the players are so interactive with fans!! So worth a trip!!
Veronica A — Google review
A very nice ballpark. Clean, well kept, and has all the amenities you'd expect. Decent food and concession items. Box seat areas are nice. Parking is available close by. Easy walk to several restaurants. And the baseball team is actually pretty good.
Jesse M — Google review
I had a great time here with the family. Tickets are cheap. Concessions a little pricey but not horrible. If you have a young child who enjoys baseball, take in a Seawolves game next time your on town. I didn't even know until our latest trip to Erie that they had a baseball team, much less a nice little Ballpark in downtown. Next time I hope yo check out some hockey while in town.
Craig H — Google review
Always a pleasant time at UPMC Park. Have attended several games now and it's safe to say this is a top 5 AA baseball location. Due to its small size and limited capacity, there is never a bad seat, and the few restaurants and concessions are always quick and easy. Getting in is a breeze and I don't feel like I'm getting shaken down to just watch a game. Every member of the staff is a delight and it really shows off the small city feel of Erie. My only complaint ever has been the restroom situation, but it was only once on a not very busy day. The field is beautiful and the team always shows out. 5 stars, would and have recommended.
Eric M — Google review
Great Ballpark awesome sight lines! Could use a better food selection but for a AA ball park what else can you expect! Umpires were awful but that's not in the stadiums control. Gift shop has just the right selection to support the Seawolves in full gear!

The Erie Land Lighthouse, built in 1818, is a historic landmark marking the eastern entrance to Presque Isle Bay. Visitors can enjoy tours led by actors from the Erie Playhouse, offering insights into its history and local legends. The lighthouse has undergone two rebuilds to address settling soil issues. A 69-step cast-iron staircase leads to the lantern room at the top, providing panoramic views of Gull Point and the North Pier Lighthouse.
We went to the Erie Land Lighthouse on a weekday, early in the morning. The facility was not yet open. We were able to take pictures of all sides of the lighthouse building, and some of Lake Erie. We were also able to traverse the land and take photos of all of the informational plaques. It is a beautiful building with a rich history. I was a little taken aback to find it is in the middle of a somewhat rundown housing area.

This was the last of the 3 lighthouses we stopped to see on our way home from Mass. We didn't make it during business hours, but we still enjoyed the info boards and the proximity of the lighthouse to a kids' park. The Watson-Curtze Mansion at the Hagen History Center is a well-preserved example of the opulent homes that lined Erie's West Sixth Street in the late 19th century. Built in 1891, this Richardsonian Romanesque mansion designed by Green & Wicks boasts 24 rooms and now serves as a museum.
I took my kids on a tour here a couple weekends ago. It was extremely cold. I didn’t think many people were gonna be there, and there wasn’t we were the only family! My December wedding and reception at the mansion was truly magical. The festive Christmas decorations created a warm and enchanting atmosphere, and the entire staff, from the helpful administrators to the incredibly kind on-site coordinator, Rick Schwab, went above and beyond to ensure a flawless event. Rick deserves special recognition. He was an invaluable partner throughout the planning process, guiding me with thoughtful suggestions while always being receptive to my vision. Even when I arrived late and felt overwhelmed, Rick discreetly ushered me through a back entrance, preventing any unnecessary stress. Thanks to his expertise and the impeccable service of the entire venue and Sabella's catering staff, my wedding exceeded all expectations. A lot of history in 1 place. The architecture alone is worth the visit if you're inthe area. Great self guided tour. If you want to see and read everything plan for a couple hours so you don't rush.

An especially beautiful and well-preserved Victorian era mansion. Very historic. There's also a very nice museum on the grounds.

Very intriguing place with so much to explore and get information about it's history. I like to go to these places because I do some paranormal investigating. I'll say this the place does not disappoint. Beautiful architecture all around.

I absolutely loved the place. It has so much Erie history and knowledgeable staff. I went on their Halloween exhibit and it was great. The staff were dressed up in Victoria clothing and very friendly. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Erie history, or just history in general.

Diner
Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in a charming historic train car, the Lawrence Park Dinor is a delightful daytime diner that captures the essence of traditional American cuisine. This unique eatery, which has been serving locals and visitors since 1948, offers an extensive selection of breakfast and lunch options that allow you to craft your own brunch experience.
Lawrence Park Dinor was an absolute gem – honestly, I went in expecting a good meal, but I left wondering if I had just discovered the secret HQ of flavor and friendliness. The food? Insanely good. The kind of good that makes you suspicious something magical is happening in that kitchen. Service? Top-tier. I felt like I was being hosted by my long-lost diner family who missed me terribly and made sure I left stuffed and smiling. If I could give it a 25 out of 10, I would. Oh wait—I just did. Highly recommend, and then some!

Lawrence Park Dinor is a must-stop if you’re in the Erie area! A small and cozy diner from the 40s, it offers the most friendly and conversational staff (who call all of the regulars by name!) and terrific food at a good price. We stopped for lunch, and I tried the cowboy burger with onion peels- a solid recommendation from the chef, as we sat at the bar right behind the grill and chatted away with him for a good part of our visit. We watched the chef cook all of the food with perfect timing, and it was fun to have a front-row seat to the cooking, with everything looking delicious. They make the burgers fresh daily (no frozen beef here due to limited freezer space), and you can really taste the difference in quality. Although we didn’t order it, the Greek sauce was highly popular with other patrons of the diner. My husband and brother both got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries, and it’s a generous serving of chicken, so much that my brother said he pulled some off to have chicken tenders on the side. My brother said it was so good that he’ll be reminiscing about it for the foreseeable future and is eager to plan a return trip to Erie just to go to the diner. They also have a guest book that we signed, which they started a few years ago after being featured in the Washington Examiner and started having people visit from all over the country and even all over the world, so it’s a fun memento to document the diner’s reach. We all really enjoyed ourselves with both the environment and the food and look forward to whenever we can come back!

This place is a hidden gem outside of downtown Erie. Classic dinner car with incredible everything. The staff is amazing, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing. The bacon was some of the best that I've had in a long time. The food was very fast and if you're gluten free, they have great options to satisfy your hunger. Great coffee and due to the incredible staff my cup was always full. If your in the Erie area, this place is worth the drive.

Great throwback diner with terrific food and atmosphere! The server, Shanna, was amazing and made some great recommendations. The cook was great as well, chatting up the people who were sitting at the counter. The chilli was the best I've had in years and the sandwiches were hearty and tasty. Be sure to get the cinnamon roll too, as it was a delicious treat!
Ben C — Google review
We were staying in Erie and looking for a place to have breakfast when I found LPD in my search. It was about 20 minutes from our hotel, but it was worth every second of the drive. We were warmly welcomed by the entire staff, and the food was simply wonderful. Fair prices, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent flavors. We are from Brazil, and this was the first breakfast in the United States that truly deserves a 10/10. It was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it to both the local community and all tourists visiting the region.

We went to the Lawrence Park Diner today for the first time!! Amazing food, welcoming atmosphere, and interesting history!! (Not pictured: cinnamon roll, we ate it too fast for a picture 10/10). Such a cool original diner 💕

We were traveling through Erie and found this place. It is the cutest little historic train car! It has 16 stools at the counter and five booths. Everything, from the warm friendly greeting to the food was perfect. We would definitely stop here again. If you are in the area you should give it a try!

One of the best breakfasts I have had in my entire life. I got the Monte Cristo and a side of their home fries topped with their locally famous Greek sauce I have bookmarked this place to make sure I return here every time I visit Erie.

Cloud 9 Wine Bar & Restaurant is a delightful blend of casual charm and sophisticated dining, making it a must-visit spot in Erie, PA. This inviting eatery offers an array of globally inspired dishes alongside an impressive selection of wines, craft beers, and cocktails. Whether you're looking to unwind with friends over a refreshing beer or enjoy a romantic dinner date, Cloud 9 promises an unforgettable culinary experience that will leave your taste buds dancing.
The experience I had today at Cloud 9 was phenomenal, service was quick our waiter Harrison was very friendly, well attentive to asking if we needed anything. He had taken very good care of us. Ordering was smooth and quick. We waited about 15 minutes max for the food. When it arrived, it had looked very delightful. I had ordered the Angus Burger. The first few bites into the burger were very extraordinary with a satisfying sensation of flavors. With the fries as well being fresh and savory. One of the best burgers with the side of fries I have ever had.
Shuyler M — Google review
Was visiting Erie for the eclipse and decided to try Cloud 9 for dinner. For starters, I had the French Onion soup and my friend had the lamb meatballs. She said the meatballs were delicious and well seasoned. The soup had good flavor, but the slice of cheese they laid on top wasn’t broiled to crispy but tasted a little burnt. For dinner, she had the shrimp scampi risotto and I had the flat iron steak salad special. The shrimp were well cooked but the risotto was very acidic. The steak salad was good, but the steak was overcooked. Homemade blue cheese dressing was delicious though. Overall a decent meal, but overpriced for what we received.
Alexandra K — Google review
The duck was really good, but my date got the tacos and it didn't say they were spicy anywhere in the menu and she couldn't eat them. Besides that it was a great experience.
Jeff — Google review
We are unsure why this restaurant only has a 4.5 rating on Google. In our estimation it should be at least a 4.7 or 4.8. The drinks were amazing and the food was out of this world. From the croque madame flatbread, duck wings and peach salad to the chimichurri salmon and seared duck breast, the food was well seasoned and excellently prepared. The lemon blueberry tart and creme brulee were an amazing end to a stellar meal. We highly recommend and will return.
Lalena C — Google review
I couldn't get over just how much space is behind the bar! If the bar didn't have such ballroom dancing space behind it, I'm sure there would be room for at least 6 more 4-tops. Just the same, it is nice for the bartender to be able to have that much room, I suppose and when it is busy, maybe the two bartenders could dance! The service was excellent. The food was delicious. The recipes were standard Americana, although many were clearly French-inspired. I had so much fun visiting this restaurant, which, based on the website as well as the interior design, leads as much more of a wine bar than a restaurant. They have a full menu and a full bar, so don't be fooled - and the selections are all quite impressive, foods and drinks. I asked the bartender to pair my wine for me - she did a perfect job. I loved the escargot and the salmon so very much. Those around me were friendly. It feels like a welcoming neighborhood bar, right in the heart of the city. I had a lovely experience.
Jennica K — Google review
Our time at cloud 9 was great! The wine was good, the food was delicious (got the mahi sushi special), and Heather our bartender gave us wonderful service and was overall just fun to chitchat with. She helped us make some flights and gave suggestions and really knew her stuff. I really enjoyed eating and drinking there, and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Erie.
Sarah S — Google review
I have visited this restaurant several times because my friends were inviting me there. Personally it would not be my choice because I am observing how the service is declining there. Last time I was there celebrating a birthday and learned that you have to pay $80 to make a reservation… which already seem high. It also doesn’t make sense to charge it if everyone came in. Typically it is just a hold that gets released when party shows up. Apparently not here. You will get it charged and they also tried to prove that it was credited towards the bill, when clearly it was not. It took a long time to get that $80 back. There are positive things I could say, but this charge instead of just hold and them trying to prove that it was credited to the bill when it was not on any receipt just made me very upset. Not how you run a business.
Dimitri K — Google review
This was a very nice place! It is right next to a parking garage, which makes it convenient IF you are ok spending $5 on parking. There is even a backdoor entrance from parking garage. The atmosphere is very nice, and the service is top notch. 👌 The drink selection was huge (and delicious), and the menu was a nice size with both reasonable and pricey meals, depending on your budget.

The Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park is a wonderful destination that offers an educational experience about the significance of trees in our environment and society. With over 250 tree species on display, visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while learning valuable information. This family-friendly park provides a convenient location with picturesque sceneries and tranquil surroundings, making it perfect for leisurely walks and outdoor activities.
This park is nicer than it looks from the road. The trails are clean and easy to follow. It has a soccer field, tennis courts, a playground, etc... I recently discovered about the painted rocks that people in Erie painted and hide. I found 4 and decided to keep the smallest one and relocated the other 3. It was fun finding them.

Perry Monument is a beautiful and historic site that is great for walking, fishing, picnicking and relaxing. The park has grills available, free parking and accessible restrooms.
Took a day trip and rode on the Lady Kate boat tour. I used to work at PI and never had the opportunity. The tour is very similar to the free pontoon boat lagoon tour that the park gives, but you get to go out on the lake. It was a gorgeous day and we had a lovely time. The price was decent also. Other photos are of sunset beach (kite beach) and gull point from the tour. Perry monument itself has wayside information, paths and flush toilet restrooms. The park is free to enter. The tour tickets can be bought in advance, online for the Lady Kate trip.

Very pretty area and interesting monument. There is some signage around that gives you information. The monument is beautiful and very large in person. It is in a quaint and beautiful part of the island with water and lots of nature. Great place to come and relax.

Perry Monument is located on the Presque Islands, Eerie, PA. This monument was erected to commemorate the victory of American forces lead by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry over the British. This victory was a morale booster for America in the Independence struggle. I visited the place during noon and there was not much rush... I was on the way to Columbus from Niagara. The island is a great get away place for the families, good for cycling, plenty of place to unwind and relax.

Excellent. Marvelous. A very beautiful place to enjoy the beauty and calmness of nature. I just love the place. Very good for cycle lovers and skaters. Also if you want you can go for a rented boat ride, that enhance the facilities to a higher level along with that quadruple family cycle ride. Very exciting place for nature lovers only.

We love going to Perry Monument so our kids can run around and we can soak up some nature. Our daughter essentially learned to walk here 😉. It's a great place to visit for some sun and lake vibes. The geese are kind (to us they have been at least!) and it's very beautiful there. Our daughter now likes to look at the historical fact checkpoints and we try to teach her the history of the location. We also visit on rainy days because it's a just a different experience!

Most impressive public library I've ever seen. Must see! University quality and construction with views overlooking the water. Wide selection - books, movies of course but also a 3D printing lab, recording studio, sewing machines, Cricuts, and much more. You can even check out fishing poles! This library serves as a model to others - be ahead of the curve and innovative and attract the community again. Seriously wish I lived there and could have a card.

The Erie County Library is one of my favorite places to go. It's beautiful inside with endless resources for all ages. There is an enormous music section that I frequent that is always stocked with newer release CD's and also older treasures. I love taking my kids there. It's a great atmosphere for a family. The Erie Maritime Museum is in the same building and worth a look. I recommend anyone pay a visit to this beautiful library.

Co located in front of the library is the 911 memorial as well as memorial to Brigadier General Strong Vincent a local hero during the United States Civil war , there is several schools named in his honor and monuments to this American military officer , I love history and this man is some good local history .

Large library located on Lake Erie and adjacent to the Maritime Museum. The large windows offer natural lighting within the library plus views of olden time boats on Lake Erie. There is a used bookshop/giftshop with friendly staff, an encloses teen area, an audio recording room, and a 2nd floor. Really not a bad stop for a tourist or a local who wants to quietly enjoy their day.
Julia G — Google review
I called in to ask if I could donate some books I no longer wanted. The library said they would take them and told me how to drop them off. The process was very easy!

It is a great public library. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is convenient. The library has a cool bike rack with a pump and a few tools for adjustments if needed. There is a little cafe there but is wasn’t open at the time I was there, a posting of the hours of operation would be helpful but then again it is not that big of a deal since it was obvious and I could have asked a staff member but did not. The WiFi worked good and was easy to connect to without a hassle. All in all it is a great community library and is an asset to Erie and the surrounding area.

The Cathedral of St. Paul in Erie, PA is known for its warm and welcoming congregation, as well as its remarkable choir and solid preaching. The church also offers valuable services to the community, such as a food bank and hot meals for those in need. Additionally, there are reports of a ghost named Katie, a little girl who is said to linger in the church after her death in a nearby car accident.
I was looking for a spiritual home and found it in this wonderful place. The people are warm and welcoming. As for music, the choir is absolutely first rate. The preaching is solid and will challenge you to think and reflect long after the service is ended, which is what good, strong preaching is hopefully doing. The building itself is beautiful inside and out, but it is the people and their sense of ministry to the Erie area and the world that has made me so happy to have become a part of this community of faith. If you are looking for a place that will not judge you, accept you, questions and all, and will enable you to grow spiritually, then this is the place for you.
Barry D — Google review
While the building is old and beautifully maintained, the service and congregation are vibrant. A full choir and music program at the 10 am. service combines with thought-provoking sermons to present an experience that is steeped in tradition but has modern sensibilities. All really are welcome here.
