Bell Homestead National Historic Site, located in Brantford, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It was the former home of Alexander Graham Bell and is where he invented the telephone in 1874. The site offers guided tours, interactive exhibits, and educational trips that provide insight into Bell's life and achievements. Visitors can also enjoy family activities and private rentals at this beautifully preserved house-museum.
Visited the homestead on Family Day 2025 and my family and I had a great time. Brian, the tour guide, was informative and very knowledgeable. He had an answer for every question we had. He also was very patient with our two year old son who didn’t grasp the hands off concept at first. We visited right after a bad winter storm and the pathways around the property were very clear and safe.

We had the pleasure of visiting Bellstead in Brantford, and it was truly one of the most enriching and memorable experiences we’ve had in Canada. Standing in the very place where Alexander Graham Bell lived and where the world’s first long-distance phone call was made felt nothing short of magical. The house is beautifully preserved, and the storytelling throughout the tour brought history to life in the most engaging way. A special note of appreciation goes to our guide — a kind and knowledgeable lady (I believe her name is Katie / she’s also featured in our pictures posted here) — who patiently answered every question and took the time to ensure everyone in the group felt involved and informed. Her passion for history truly made the tour unforgettable. For anyone interested in innovation, history, or simply a quiet, meaningful outing, Bellstead is a must-visit. Thank you for preserving this treasure and for making our visit so special.

Visited the site during 2025 Victoria Day long weekend. We were blessed as it was a beautiful day with no rain but a slight overcast, so it wasn't too hot either! Countryside is always beautiful and a treat for the eyes. It is a quaint neighborhood, and I'm always curious how people in these small towns spend their time. Whereas we living in the main city/downtown literally have everything at a short walking distance! Spring and summer are the six months where most Canadians make the most of outdoor activities.
Munazzah M — Google review
I thought this would be a quick 10–15 minute stop at a small historic place, but I was pleasantly surprised! The visit included a fascinating 1.5 hours guided experience covering Bell’s life, the invention of the telephone, and the evolution of early communication technology. Every minute was engaging, and the stories truly brought history to life. At just $12.50 for admission, it offered excellent value — highly recommended!
Eric S — Google review
We had such a great time. We did the 5 senses program with my homeschooling group. Friendly and engaged staff. We had to guess which rooms were which based on the hints of what was in the room. The story reading part was fun but too long. Definitely needed to be cut down or some how more interactive. Would love to actually have the kids try an old phone system. The Braille section was far too boring explaining the eye and how it sees differently. Kids were at the end of the tour and getting quite antsy. It's certainly interesting but again needs to be far more interactive/ hands on like a model of the eye or glasses that they can wear that shows different ways people can see. The Art station wasn't what I expected. That was the most disappointing. Painting some sort of landscape would be much more interesting just like Eliza would have. That requires much more work but would flow well with everything offered. Overall it was really good and fun to learn and discover about the Bell homestead. I highly recommend making the trip.
Soner P — Google review
Drove by late night when closed. I thought, let's stop. I'm in town and may as well. It was lovely and an opportunity to dream about the past and the Canadian who invented such a revolutionary tool, serving as a launching pad to the device so many of us carry. He would be so blown away! A beautiful homestead lovingly preserved. Antique lovers will appreciate its ambience. A link to the past, history is a journey back in time. Magic!
Skye S — Google review
It's been in my backyard my whole life but I finally got there with my friends. I was so happy I went. It was worth the drive from out of town to experience and learn about the technology that created the number one item in the world - the telephone. Our tour guide Addison, dressed in period costume was FANTASTIC. He didn't just read a script about Alexander Graham Bell and his family and legacy, he TOLD their STORY. He knew his stuff, and he was able to answer all the questions that were asked. It was engaging, interesting, fact-filled and I enjoyed it throughly. Would recommend booking a time for your tour if you on a schedule. We went in the morning without a booking and had to go and have breakfast, and then go back in the afternoon, but that suited my friends and I just fine. Kids area, lovely grounds. Kudos to all the staff we encountered who were pleasant to deal with.
Nancy K — Google review
This was an awesome experience, we loved it all. I booked us in for the one hour guided tour and Katie was an excellent guide, super informative and answered all our questions. The history was intriguing and the family stories were so inviting to learn more. We also enjoyed tea and cake in the Exchange Cafe, which was so yummy. A must visit to learn more and see the home preserved with such historic intrigue. Well done thank you for the experience. Spicy Jan, Tasty Road Trips

What an important place for our countries history.I have donated to this museum because of its important role in our military history.

Must visit, kids love this place. Small place with so many information on various war Canada participated. A big salute to all and the volunteers. Got some great pencil sharpeners. Will come here again.
Minakshi S — Google review
This place has an incredible amount of artifacts, uniforms, weapons, pictures. The entirely volunteer staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. This is a must see place for kids. The time when they can actually speak to Canadian veterans is sadly, coming to an end.
Jan G — Google review
Utterly fascinating museum! It's entirely volunteer run as I understand it, but very well laid out, with great displays illuminating Canada's involvement in war. Tremendous, friendly and highly knowledgeable staff. The small arms collection has a number of rare and unusual weapons you don't see too often. There's also a WW1 wooden(!) German trench mortar and a German naval battery rangefinder. Plenty of free parking...and speaking of - admission is also free! But you're more than welcome to donate whatever you wish to help support this great museum. I certainly did.
Tony S — Google review
Looks small from the outside, but full of endless Canadian war history on the inside! This museum is definitely worth a visit as it really helps portray what our Canadian men and women have done over the centuries to keep our country free. Make sure to read the stories posted beside different displays as it helps to highlight the significance of that display.
Tyler L — Google review
Really cool items, vehicles, displays. They even have videos and lots of volunteers who are knowledgeable and willing to teach you about Canadian history. From the war of 1812 to modern day it offers memorabilia on all wars, important figures, and important events

SUGGESTIONS: (1) Make sure you check their website for OPEN HOURS......only open FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS. (2) If your GPS takes you to the corner of MOHAWK & GREENWICH all you will see is a sign. DRIVE another kilometre down GREENWICH to the actual museum.

The Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts is a well-known venue that was once a vintage vaudeville and silent-movie theatre. Currently, it hosts a wide range of performances including plays, classical music, dance and more. The stunning architecture and artwork throughout the building is an added attraction for visitors. The staff are helpful in assisting artists and patrons alike. There is ample parking available directly across the street from this theater.
This is a lovely mid-sized theatre with a breathtaking ceiling, comfortable seats, and great acoustics. The bottled water was super reasonably priced. The staff made the biggest impression on me, though. I had travelled from Saskatoon and went to a Jim Cuddy concert on the last day of my trip. My flight home was early the next morning at Pearson so I went directly from the concert to the airport. There is no coat check at the theatre but I contacted them in advance and they kindly told me that they would stow my luggage during the show. The staff that helped me with that were kind and gave additional travel pointers regarding Uber pick-up, etc. And of course the concert was fantastic.

This place is stunning!! Old school theatre vibes with the most beautiful finishes takes you back in the past like you’ve always dreamed it! A few beverage stands and one food area! Super clean washroom and the staff definitely take pride in there jobs! If you get a chance to wash a show or performance here take the opportunity!!
Craig D — Google review
I went to the Sanderson to watch my goddaughter’s recital. It is a very nice, if a bit dated, venue. Parking was a little tricky since it is right downtown, and the lot next to the venue is not very large. I suggest you get there significantly before the event to get a spot. I got lucky that after a few laps around the block I found a spot right in front of the doors. The staff was helpful and welcoming and the stage is very nice. The seats were…adequate.
Marcy C — Google review
What a great theatre with an even greater performance. Tight bathrooms, quite crowded hallways, don't want to be there in a fire 🔥😊. But great place, affordable performance.
Right O — Google review
I have been here a bunch of times for different shows, and I always love it here. Every seat here is a good seat. I have gone for my children's field trips with school, and that is always a super fun experience. The programs are very interactive, and they keep the children engaged. I don't know how the children's stuff gets booked, but it is always a hit. There is such a wide variety of different options here, so everyone will be able to find something they would like to watch at the Sanderson center. Music in the theater is next level. The way the sound travels in that room is amazing. No matter where you sit, it is like the band is personally playing for you. It is really a wonderful venue. The theater itself is so beautiful. It is hard to top the interior painting and the exterior mural as well. I love to go every opportunity I get.
April S — Google review
We love seeing any kind of concert here as the acoustics are phenomenal. The ceiling artwork is stunning, gorgeous stage, and building. Staff is very friendly, warm and welcoming. We’ll keep coming back! Our favourite local concert venue. 🙌🙌🙌

Who was like the acoustics in the Sanderson center and the group was playing very well easy in easy out good service no problems the rating can depend upon who's playing and what the show is

Brant Conservation Area, also known as Brant Park, is managed by the Grand River Conservation Authority. Nestled along the picturesque Grand River, the park offers charming forest trails and opportunities for non-motorized boating. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of a splash pad and a swimming pool within the park grounds. The area serves as a campsite with amenities including power showers and provides various recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, and swimming.
It was our first time experience at camping and we enjoyed our time. The lot was big enough for our group of 35 and there was plenty of shade from the trees. We saw deer in between in the woods which the kids loved. There was a large swimming pool to cool off during the day when it was hot and they charged 2.5 dollars per person. There were small playgrounds around were kids could go play. The washrooms and shower rooms were clean and the staff kept cleaning them in between. Overall the experience was great!
Betsy A — Google review
Very natural and beautiful park. I liked that the campsites were pretty private and large. Unfortunately our site was mostly dirt but most I saw were grassed nicely. It was a fairly long walk to the bathroom compared to other campgrounds I've stayed at. The bathroom was cleaned regularly. The staff were friendly on check in and were knowledge when we had questions. I found the almost $40 charge for a second vehicle for 2 days excessive. The river was beautiful and my group greatly enjoyed kayaking 3 sections of it and swimming near the boat launch. I would definitely come again.
Erin J — Google review
Park is largely well maintained with huge pool, picnic areas, sheds and a lot more. Adult fees are $9 pp. Enough parking spots and plenty of activities to do for kids and families. Pool area is big and there are always life guards on duty to ensure safety for everyone. Restrooms were nightmare though with poor hygiene. Strange you gave to go through restrooms to access the pool and there is no other direct access. So if you are carrying food, water and all other supplies you got to go through restrooms which was not a pleasant experience. Overall a decent place for a day picnic if you are travelling with family and kids.
Alok S — Google review
Campsite we stayed at was great! Looking at the other campsites, they all were tidy and good sized lots. By tidy, I mean the ground was flat, there wasn’t a bunch of twigs around, and usually there were trees around to help divide each campsite to give a little privacy. There was also a fire pit at each site. Campsite wasn’t too far of a walk to the restrooms. The pool was fun for the kiddies, and included a splash pad area that was also a hit. Trails were nice and easy to walk. The check in area sells a bag of wood for $10.50, and ice. Not sure how much the ice was. It was $18 per car at the campsite I think. The staff at the campground work until 11pm on the weekends, and were all friendly. Overall, I’d return to go camping again, as well as recommend it to friends with kids.
Linh P — Google review
Great space, clean, services all worked as expected. The lot was very large to handle our motorhome and roads were easy to navigate. Quiet place, laid out oddly, pool was quite far from our lot but clean and large. More like a wading pool style which was great for kids. They had essential goods for sale on site which was handy. Lots of return clients which is a good referral in itself.
Don H — Google review
So, Brant Conservation Area is honestly one of those spots where you can just show up and do pretty much whatever you feel like outdoors. It’s right in Brantford, not far from the Grand River, and it’s kinda perfect if you’re into a mix of relaxing and a little bit of adventure. First off, the big thing here is the water. They’ve got this huge pool that’s more like a mini waterpark with splash pads, slides, and all that fun stuff. Families love it, but even if you don’t have kids, it’s still a solid place to cool off on a hot day. Then there’s the camping. You can bring your tent, park your trailer, or even just come for the day. People light up their campfires, grill some food, and it’s got that whole summer vibe going on. The sites are pretty spacious, so you don’t feel like you’re crammed in with strangers. Fishing? Yep, you can do that too. The Grand River runs through the area, so grab your rod and try to catch something while you’re chilling on the shore. If fishing’s not your thing, you can just walk or bike along the trails, spot some wildlife, and breathe in that fresh air that makes you forget about work and city stress for a while. Oh, and if you’re into group hangouts, there are picnic areas everywhere. People bring their soccer balls, frisbees, and it just feels like one big backyard party. Basically, Brant Conservation Area is where you go when you want a day (or weekend) of pure chill, with just enough things to do so you don’t get bored. Simple, easy, and a good time every single visit.
Hamed — Google review
First time going there. Did not realize after paying to get in the park you have pay again to get in the pool. $2.75 / adult so considering there isnt much else to do at that park for young kids im surprised the pool isnt included in the park fee. The pool you cant bring floaties -for Babies that they sit in, they can only wear life jackets. There was quite a few bugs that got stuck in the water (I got stung by bee so just becareful)
Nicki S — Google review
I visited the Brant Conservation Area and found it to be a fantastic spot for a day trip or a longer stay. The picnic areas are lovely, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy a meal. It’s also very dog-friendly, which is a huge plus for pet owners. The campground, however, has some drawbacks. The sites are quite close together, which can make for a noisy experience if you have loud neighbors. While the staff were friendly and welcoming, the washroom facilities could definitely use more frequent cleaning. On a brighter note, the conservation area boasts one of the largest outdoor pools in Ontario. This is a massive draw, especially during the summer, and it makes the park an ideal place for a multi-day stay, particularly for families with kids. Despite the minor issues with the campground and washrooms, the overall experience was positive, thanks to the great amenities and friendly staff.

Elements Casino Brantford, formerly known as Brantford Charity Casino, is a popular spot in Ontario that offers table games, hundreds of slots, and a poker room. The casino donates a portion of its profits to the Trillium Foundation for distribution to charities. Visitors can enjoy the lively atmosphere and entertainment while trying their luck at winning big. The casino also provides excellent customer service, with staff members like Nancy being praised for their pleasant and helpful demeanor.
I like to come to this casino regularly to play craps. The interior is clean and looks great, bathrooms cleaned regularly, and the dealers at the tables games, especially craps, are terrific. They help you learn the game, are very accommodating to new players and are very friendly. Kevin, Matthew, Brittni, Hannah, Michael, Brad, Tom, Aref - (the list goes on) all of them are fantastic. Really love their customer service and professionalism. Supervisors are also very communicative about table rules and availabilities. Can't say enough good things about the staff working the craps table! Come try your luck with these fine folks!

February 22, 2025 ⭐️⭐️ Stopped by to try my luck 🍀. The security team was friendly upon entry, and the washrooms were clean, which I appreciated. However, when we stood at the customer service desk, we were ignored—one representative was on the phone, and the other was too busy on the computer to acknowledge us. On the positive side, I appreciated the complimentary coffee and Coke. However, I didn’t feel the same uplifting vibe I’m used to at Pickering Casino. Maybe it was just an off day for them.

It's a nice enough casino. I don't normally win at this casino. In the many times that I have been there. I have never seen a big winner! However it is a casino. So remember to bring however much money you are willing to part with. Consider it your day out! This is the cost of your entertainment.

Before covid this places i would rate a 5 but these days all the machines just take. When you throw in $20 into a machine i understand you cant expect big wins all the time but betting for $1 a spin and every 7 spins you might get a couple 30 cent to 1.50 wins. That $20 lasts 5 min max then the next game does the same. Out of all the machines they have ten might be giving wins. Online casinos might be the way to go! Garbage

This review will focus on the food, as I don't have much experience with their gambling machines. They offer various daily promotions, and the $9.99 AYCE prime rib with lobster tail deal is absolutely incredible! Despite the low price, the quality remains high. I recommend checking their website to confirm if any weekly specials have changed. The catch? You need to be an Elements member, but only a red-tier card is required to access these dinner specials. The sign-up process is free, with no fees or subscriptions needed. Dinner service starts at 5 p.m., but I highly suggest arriving at least an hour early to be part of the first seating—wait times can be long. Update: Unfortunately, they've removed the AYCE option and are sticking with à la carte. Hopefully, it returns soon.

W e went on a family outing yesterday (5 of us) and brantford casino was our last stop before heading home. We were all impressed with the decor, cleanliness and the slot machine variety. Food service was very good and had a wide variety. The only “down” comment I have was a problem with a slot machine I was playing decided to stop working. I had been waiting at least 20 minutes and no one had come to help. I stayed with the machine while my daughter went to find someone to help. Another 15 min or so and a very nice lady came with my daughter, but couldn’t help with the problem. She called “the” tech who couldn’t come over, but she explained the problem and the message on the screen. He gave her some instructions on how to fix it, which actually took about 15 second to take care of the problem. The fact we had to go find someone to help was annoying, the 4 star rating is based on that.
Rick S — Google review
I don't know what to think. My ears are still ringing from the loud music through the crappy system. There was some DJ there which was completely cheesy. The clientele is older. so why are they blasting music through garbage speakers? Nobody wants you to turn the volume up like that. You damaged my eardrums last night and ruined my experience. I looked at my friend in disbelief and we left earlier than we would have if they just left the music at a normal listening level. This place sent my tinnitus into high gear, which takes days to settle. You are causing hearing damage to your mostly OLDER patrons. I will never return, because you know it will happen again. Overall the casino is a little tired and they need help. It feels like they just don't care and are good with the status quo

Nestled in Brantford, the Mohawk Chapel stands as a remarkable testament to history, being the oldest surviving church in Ontario at an impressive 235 years old. This charming wooden structure is not only a place of worship but also a significant cultural landmark, representing the legacy of the Six Nations Indigenous Communities. Inside, visitors are greeted by stunning stained-glass windows that narrate tales from ancient times through to Joseph Brant's era and beyond.

The oldest church in Ontario and of significance both historically and culturally. One of the few royal chapels outside of the uk. The large free car park is conveniently located and is wheelchair accessible. The graves are well-maintained and obviously effort and care has been put into honouring the dead (who include the significant figures of Joseph Brant and his son). Built in 1785 and well-maintained.

Nestled in a scenic Georgian-style 1800s farmstead, Myrtleville House Museum offers a captivating glimpse into 19th-century life. The beautifully preserved heritage home is filled with artifacts that depict everyday life during that era. While the museum is located amidst a modern subdivision, it's worth the effort to find this hidden gem. Visitors can explore the grounds and take tours (reservations recommended) to learn about the history of the house and its surroundings.
Lovely little museum. I think you need to book ahead, but our group did, so we went. Of particular interest was the octagonal, cement silo and - perhaps - the oldest piano in Canada. The guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. (And if I got the above facts wrong, it is entirely my fault, and not hers)! Plenty of parking. Public washroom available.

Amazing history and the best tours of the house! Truely a historical Brantford location with the loveliest staff who care about the house. Also the best summer camp programs!! A must see visit if you're in Brantford

We went for the murderville Halloween event and it was fun for the kids and us. We definitely enjoyed it and will go back again just to visit the museum again in the future. So I can not give just a review of the house itself but what we went for tonight was awesome and put together nicely. Not to scary for the younger kids but we did go at the earlier time........ anyways we will go back again and at that time I will review the museum as well but if you plan on going then I bet it would be a great place to visit so just get it done lol

What an awesome place! A beautiful location now surrounded by a subdivision that occupies 495 of the original 500 acre homestead (which does it make it a little tricky to find - stick with it, it's worth it!), this simple assemblage of original buildings offers an excellent glimpse of nineteenth/early twentieth century homesteading life through the many artifacts of everyday life that fill the main house. We didn't find a guide right off, so we toured the house on our own. Afterwards we found Sarah who was managing a children's summer programme, and she was a font of knowledge about the site and others in the area. It is definitely one of those awesome little historical sites that nobody but the locals know about. Highly recommended.

Nestled along the scenic Grand River, the Grand Wellness Centre is a hidden gem in Brantford that beautifully marries relaxation with unique experiences. Housed in a historic industrial building dating back to 1872, this wellness haven features an enticing Beer Spa where you can unwind in cedar tubs filled with water and local brews. Indulge in their diverse range of treatments, including rejuvenating massages, invigorating scrubs like the Healing Alements Scrub, and soothing yoga sessions.
Well, isn’t this place grand! Lovely reception area with very welcoming staff. It was our first time in a salt cave. The cave is chilly, so a blanket is provided. You recline in a patio chair for 45 minutes and relax in the peaceful, quiet atmosphere (talking is discouraged so as not to interrupt the other guests). We were then taken into a quiet room for a 45 minute foot detox where you place your feet on warm blocks of salt. Very relaxing. Am very much looking forward to returning to this beautiful location to enjoy their many other amenities. A grand experience at a lovely spa!

This was one of the most eye opening and rewarding inspiring experiences I’ve ever had, from the minute you step in you feel a different kind of caring and holistic aura to the place and it’s so much more than just a spa. A combination of a luxurious experience meets Canadian roots in a cottage like theme with a holistic edge to it, from the cleanliness and organization to the attention to detail in the fairy lights and choice of furniture the place exudes a warm like energy deeply rooted in its nature themes and healing aura it provides to people. On the first floor there is access to many super cool innovative ideas like you see in the picture beautiful seating areas with salt foot pads to detox the body , a high end sauna room and a super unique experience at the salt cave, my guide made sure that I was accommodated from the minute I walked in , from being able to prepare my own beverage and sit in a beautiful waiting room to guiding me to each of my scheduled services with extreme kindness and hospitality explaining the functionality of each space whilst we were on the way and holding great dignity and respect to my healing space and convenience by giving my the freedom of peace and time at each service allowing me to fully experience the healing effects. The salt cave was such a unique experience where as a person who heavily practices meditation- I was able to disconnect and feel divine presence and visualization to a next level extent that truly calmed me and gave my soul rest from a hectic city lifestyle and intense gym routine, soon followed by a high tech sauna room beautifully accommodated by a hot and cold drink and the ability to connect to Bluetooth during the experience - the whole staff is so catering making sure you feel very safe and comfortable it truly gave me a celebrity feeling in terms of both service and luxury. I finished up my experience with what I recommend most ( though I honestly reccomend everything and panning out a day to come here and try multiple services as they’re all at a really good price point) a beer bath! Yes , a beer bath , my guide politely explained how the owner brought the concept over from Europe and how beyond an extremely relaxing service , it’s also amazing for your skin and nails. I was able to fully unwind and enjoy the herbs and pure relaxation as I sipped on my complementary hot chocolate. The tour was finished off by being shown the upstairs area with areas designated to different activities and service such as yoga , aesthetics and a massage room - this place really isn’t just a spa , it’s more like community with a sense of coming home and simultaneously receiving celebrity like treatment and is the true rest every soul needs to detach from our lives and take a true reset. I can tell this place was truely a passion project for the owners. Truly worth the travel from Mississauga and I will definitely dedicate more days in the future to re-experience and also enjoy other services. I couldn’t recommend this place more - please choose this place for any celebration where you or/ and a loved one wish to experience a treat . So much love.

I had a really great experience at the Grand Wellness. Had a full body massage, with Samantha. She was very gentle, nice and welcoming. Staff at the reception as well they were very humble too. I definitely recommend this place. There is also a lounge and serve complementary drinks.

I visited Grand Wellness for an 60 minutes massage after 8 years. They have the same service which they had before when they had their business on Brant avenue. Blake whom I saw for my massage was fantastic. Heidi the owner and her business partner had made their place so welcoming. Staff and atmosphere is great. It was great to visit Grand wellness after a long time.

I went in today for a massage that I had scheduled with Tony. I took the first available as I was really needing the service, and didn’t care if I had a male or a female. I’ve been here before a few times and always enjoyed every service I received. This time was absolutely exceptional! Tony is very friendly, very social, and clearly very experienced and educated in his field. I received one of the best massages I have ever had and have now marked him as my preferred therapist. I have rescheduled already for another in two weeks. If you are ever concerned about having a male massage therapist, please do not be! He was beyond professional, and went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable in every aspect. Grand Wellness is top-notch! And so is Tony!!

I’ve always had a wonderful experience here until recently. It’s honestly a really beautiful spa, and everyone seems friendly. However recently, I booked a 30 minute massage to help me relax before I had to go to work. My name is Julia and they got me and a “Julie” mixed up. So I ended up getting Julie’s 45 minute massage and I would imagine she got my 30 minute massage. My massage was disappointing due to my own nerve pain in my back, to be honest it really wasn’t enjoyable. It wasn’t until the massage was over that I realized it had been 45 minutes and the lady finally asked me, “wait what’s your last name?” And we realized things were mixed up. They were very apologetic, however we ended up getting charged for the full 45 minute appointment. Not only was I not satisfied with my massage, but I was late to work, and still had to pay full price for something I didn’t even book and wasn’t my fault that it got mixed up? Very disappointing, seems quite unethical.

Manicure $68 for a manicure!! I was absolutely shocked to find at time of payment that an additional $12 is charged to remove shellac. I have been here previously for a polish change and charged $36. According to the receptionist, a polish change is better as the $12 shellac removal is not charged. How does this make sense? I have manicures twice monthly. I have never paid for a shellac removal fee while already paying for the full manicure.

Brantwood Farms, situated on the outskirts of Brantford and in operation since 1891, is a charming destination offering farm-fresh produce and locally sourced items at its market. Visitors can also partake in the delightful experience of picking their own apples, pumpkins, and strawberries.
It's a beautiful place to have a nice farm experience. They gave us a wagon ride and its every 15 minutes. We were allowed to pick 3 flowers. There were bubble station as well. They have portable washrooms and picnic tables too. We walked in the sunflower fields and took awesome pics. Overall its a good place for kids and adults as well. Please don't forget to take water bottles to hydrate yourself.

This family tradition of ours is something we look forward to every single year, and we truly can’t get enough of it! The kids absolutely love the whole pumpkin-picking experience, and even though the farm we used to go to sadly closed to the public, we were lucky enough to discover this gem! This time around, we kept it simple—no wagon rides or games—just good old-fashioned pumpkin picking. And honestly? That was more than enough. There were pumpkins in every shape and size imaginable, and watching the kids carefully choose their “perfect one” was such a joy. 🍂 Now, you might be wondering why we gave 4 stars instead of 5 if we had such a great time... well, here's the one hiccup: my sister got stung by a wasp on her hand (ouch), and naturally, we headed over to the staff area thinking there’d be a basic first aid kit or at least an ice pack. Surprisingly, there wasn’t. What threw us off a bit more was the staff member’s response: when my sister asked for an ice pack, she was told, “We’re in the field,” which came off a little curt. We totally understand the rustic setting, but still—it’d be nice to have a small first aid kit on hand for these situations, especially with kids around. That said, the overall vibe was wonderful, the pumpkins were top quality, and we’re already planning to come back next year. Hopefully with a few band-aids / instant ice packs in our own bag next time!

Good experience. I went today for fall activities, flower patch and apple picking on 30 Aug 2025, and it was a brilliant experience. Do take the farm ride as its easier to reach the flower patch and kids activity area.

I had such a wonderful time visiting this farm. They had so many great fall activities including apple picking, a beautiful pumpkin patch, and a lovely pick-your-own flower area. Everything was well organized and easy to enjoy. The atmosphere was gorgeous and felt so cozy and seasonal. Everywhere you looked, it was picture perfect. The staff and everyone we met were incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. I honestly loved everything about it. It is the perfect spot to spend a fall day whether you are with family, friends, or just want a peaceful outing. Highly recommend!

Cannot recommend visiting Brantwood Farms enough! The Sunflower Festival is a fabulous day out with the family with so much to see and do: a wagon ride, games, food, music and a beer tent! Not to mention - obviously! - the stunning fields of sunflowers and wild flowers! It has become our yearly family tradition that we always look forward to! 🌻🌻🌻
Anita K — Google review
I visited the Sunflower Festival on its final day, arriving around 4 PM. The temperature felt close to 38°C, and the flowers, including the sunflowers, showed signs of the season’s end. The farm featured other colorful blooms and themed photo spots such as a vintage bicycle and butterfly display. After parking, tickets were scanned, and visitors boarded a wagon for a ride through the apple orchard to the flower fields. Due to the heat and insects, I didn’t spend long among the blooms. The route continued to the animal farm area, where live music played and children enjoyed various activities. Benches provided shaded seating, and refreshments were available. Another wagon later transported us back. Entry closes at 5 PM, so an evening visit isn’t possible. At the entrance, a small store sells organic items, adding to the experience. Admission was $13 plus tax and included the wagon ride, three cut-your-own sunflowers, shaded forest trail, 4-acre cut-flower field, play areas, and full-day access to the grounds. It’s a worthwhile seasonal outing, especially for families and photography lovers, best visited earlier in the festival and during cooler weather for fresher blooms.

The Fall Festival at Brentwood Farm was truly a delightful and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt well organized and thoughtfully planned. Clear parking signs and directions made it easy to find our way, setting the tone for a smooth and enjoyable visit. For just $17.50, the value was incredible considering the wide range of activities available. We had a great time exploring the mini cornfield maze, which was fun for both kids and adults. The bouncing balloon area was full of energy and laughter, while the calm Magic Forest offered a more peaceful yet engaging experience with creative and interactive setups that everyone enjoyed. One of the highlights was the pumpkin bowling — a clever and festive twist that brought out everyone’s playful side. The tractor ride around the field provided beautiful countryside views and a relaxing break before we headed for the apple picking, which was fresh, fun, and perfectly captured the spirit of autumn. Overall, Brentwood Farm offers one of the most refreshing and wholesome ways to celebrate the fall season with friends and family. It’s a perfect blend of fun, relaxation, and the cozy feeling of fall — definitely worth visiting again! 🍂🎃

Had such a great time there over Thanksgiving weekend with our pugs! Very large farm with so many activities, lots of staff on hand and incredibly organized despite how many people were there! Art gallery
Woodland Cultural Centre is a cultural hub that has been operational since 1972. It boasts of three art galleries, a museum, and a library. The museum focuses on the relationship between indigenous people and white settlers in the area. Although it is small, it contains valuable information about indigenous history. However, some visitors may be disappointed by the limited information provided on residential schools.
Poignant reminder of the Residential school system that is a dark chapter in Canada's history. Visited on September 30th, Truth and Reconciliation day. The place was busy and there were lots of events organized. The tour of the school had some waiting but that was due to it being September 30th and large crowd sizes. The place is under renovation but you can still visit and see the living quarters of the children and the dining hall etc. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient with all the questions. Some of the stories will break your heart so be ready for some disturbing narratives. There is also a museum on site which explains the history of the Indigenous people from origin to the settlers to modern day. A must visit if you're in the area. And please educate and donate. They need funds constantly for supporting the survivors and for helping to bring their lost babies home.

This cultural centre is a truly hidden gem and needs to be visited!!! On the approach this is a VERY deceptive building on the outside and appears small, but once inside it is an explosion of Woodlands culture in what turns out to be a HUGE display in a marvelously curated exhibit. Starting with a bright and well-stocked Gift Shop managed by a friendly and informative lady who begins your journey with a brief introduction to the centre and answering any questions you might have. Into the modern beautiful and bright art gallery and hallway leading to the unique exhibits of artisans, stay to the LEFT and do the history first. (SUGGESTION: Save the art gallery to the end when when you exit from your self-paced tour of the multi-level exhibits....it will be much more enjoyable.) A surprising number of artifacts beautifully displayed considering how small this museum is. (I might suggest you visit CRAWFORD LAKE VILLAGE in Milton first to get an introduction to the longhouse experience.) The actual RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL exhibits is in the process of (hopefully) opening in September.

I recently visited the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford, which is located next to the Mohawk Residential School, and it was an enriching experience. The centre is divided into two sections—one focused on the history of Indigenous roots and the other showcasing Indigenous art. Both sections were thoughtfully curated, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring them. In addition to the exhibits, the centre also has a theatre and an area for various activities. The surrounding grounds are lovely, with a park that offers a perfect spot for a picnic or just relaxing outdoors. Whether or not you’re planning to visit the residential school, it’s meaningful and highly worthwhile to stop by the cultural centre to gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous history and culture. I highly recommend it!

Took this tour September 30th. Very educational. The renovations make you feel like you stepped back in time. To actually see what these children went through is just painful. Bring lots of tissue!

Despite the residential school being closed, driving up the long path towards it is a surreal feeling. The museum provides an excellent learning opportunity of the history of this country. Seeing some of the actual artifacts that have been recovered in walls and on the grounds was eye opening. This is well worth the visit.

Wonderful place to visit for Indigenous history. The talent on display at the current art collect is outstanding. I would highly recommend visiting this museum and art gallery for a small admission fee.

Today I visited the newly re-opened Mohawk Institute Residential School Museum which is part of the Woodland Cultural Centre. Despite, over the years, having read books on the subject, and listened to survivors of the Residential School system speak of their experiences, this immersive museum, in my opinion, is a ‘must see’ . It is only with a better understanding of history can true reconciliation occur. My perspective of the museum, and the impact it had on me, is that of a non-indigenous, Canadian immigrant, I don’t of course speak for others ! Most of the exhibits have a ‘content warning’ as they show examples of the cruel treatment of so many of the young Indigenous children who attended. You can hear the words of survivors, you can see the dorms they slept in, the places where they were taken and abused, secret spots where they hid to be safe and speak their forbidden languages, examples of the unsanitary conditions, the resulting illnesses and death, and the ever present hunger. The informative multimedia exhibits , historical timelines, information on the perpetrators, and the policies behind the Residential School system are all there. The staff take great care to ensure visitors emotional well-being with warnings of the content and opportunities to sit in the Wellness Room if needed. I would highly recommend taking the audio device tour for additional information to the written text accompanying the exhibits , allow 2-3 hours, and on the advice of staff consider finishing off in the art gallery as she reminded us the museum content ’is heavy’. A difficult but necessary visit! Thank you to all involved who have worked so hard ‘to save the evidence’ and ensure a place like this exists from which we may learn .

Manns Distillery is a delightful destination in Brantford that offers an immersive experience for spirit enthusiasts. With its inviting Tasting Room and multi-level Cocktail Lounge, visitors can sample a variety of unique spirits under the guidance of skilled mixologists who share their expertise on each offering. Guests rave about the distinct flavors, such as Dill Pickle Vodka and Watermelon Vodka, which have become favorites for crafting creative cocktails at home.
Mann's Distillery never disappoints. We love this place. I celebrated my birthday with a few drinks. It's such a cozy place with a wonderful variety of spirits. One of my favorites is the Vanilla Vodka Moscow Mule. It's served in a copper mug. It has gingerbeer and it is so delicious. I also enjoy the Guava Rose Vodka Margarita. The Ceasar's are very good as well.

Great atmosphere, and incredible amount of spirits for tasting. I really enjoyed the vanilla vodka. Their korean chicken was delightful. Tender, sweet, and a little spice. If I had to say anything negative, the truffle fries could have been cooked a little longer so they were slightly more crispy. Will visit again next time we are near Brantford.

We went into Manns Distillery a month ago to try some of their drinks. I tried a flight with Dill Pickle Vodka, Watermelon Vodka, and White Tea Gin. All three were very tasty and had nice flavour. I was shocked at how strong the dill pickle smell and flavour was. I came back the next week and bought a bottle of Dill Pickle Vodka and since have made a few fantastic Caesars. Our friends quite enjoyed the drink. We also bought a bottle of the Watermelon Vodka to make a few interesting martinis. Their website has some cocktail recipes to try. We will be sure to come back and try some other drinks.

Took a friend there this evening for National Ceasar day to enjoy a flight of Ceasars and some.perogies. Had a reservation for 6pm. Needless to say all we got was perogies. Arrived for 6pm, not overly busy Only 2 staff members for an advertised event that they knew would be busy. We were told to sit where we liked and someone would come to our table to take our order. Half an hour past, no.order taken so we decided to get perogies in the event they would take the order with my fiance while we're gone. Nope. Come back after 10 min, no drink order taken. Bday girl went to the bar to have our order taken, got told someone would be right there to take it. Not happening. 15 min later we were done our food and still no drinks were taken. After almost an hour of being there, no drink order taken, we thoroughly enjoyed the perogies though, my party up and left and not sure if we will ever return. I work in the alcohol industry and that was pretty ignorant of them not even to a knowledge us sitting right there in front of them from the bar. Not even a sorry or sorry we forgot to take your order. Ignored the whole time. Knowing the attendance that you would get for this event it should have been staffed way differently. Not only 2 ppl and nobody on the floor. This service was unacceptable and shouldn't even receive the lowest rating.

Historical landmark
Hiking area
Wilkes Dam in Brantford is a picturesque recreation area offering various activities. The SC Johnson Trail leads to the historical Wilkes Dam, where visitors can enjoy a viewing platform and benches. The dam, built in the 1850s by George Samuel Wilkes, diverts water into a canal to power downstream mills. Surrounding the dam are lush forests and tall grasses, creating an ideal setting for birdwatching and nature walks.
Wilkes dam is the perfect place to go with family, or on a date, or even fishing. There are walking trails where you’ll get a chance to see beautiful and different bird species, butterflies and sometimes even super small snakes. If you’re into fishing, they have an area off the dam’s concrete stand (to the left of it) perfect for setting up your fishing stuff and spend a nice chunk of the day there. You can also fish from the water in weighters. Lastly, their sunsets there are beautiful - a must see !

We were out for a drive and stumbled upon this hidden gem. It’s a great spot for families, and perfect if you enjoy a nice walk or leisurely stroll. We were just exploring this time and barely scratched the surface—there’s so much more to see and do! The trails are easy and suitable for all ages. We’ll definitely be back to explore more.

A great place to start exploring the local trails. Accessible from the Brant Conservation Area on one side of the Grand River and there are a small number of parking spaces on the other side. Lots of wildlife to be seen in and around the river.
Ian Y — Google review
The dam and it's nearby trails are part of my daily walk loop with the dogs and I'm so grateful that it is. Sitting and listening to the water roll over the dam - regardless of what season it is - is such a relaxing thing. I usually end up having a nice conversation with a stranger, and even meet one of my best buddies down there through happenstance. The parkland across the river means you'll often catch glimpses of wildlife, and I've caught plenty of good sunsets while overlooking the dam & the river. Also, there's lots of birds along the trail if you're looking to see some (bring seed in your pocket to feed them!). There's usually enough parking, but local streets can easily extend that for those that don't mind a few extra steps. It's fun to go for a little tube float or paddle down the river from here and get out at Daubigny (avg 1.5hr float) or Cockschutt (avg 4hr). Spring runoff can get kinda crazy, so treat the high water with caution. Don't try going over the dam regardless of season. It looks fun, but people have died from the eddies that swirl underwater. My only complaint is the litter, but that is unfortunately ubiquitous it seems.... I pick up trash EVERY DAY that I walk down there and it's disappointing to say the least. Fishermen/women used to be good stewards to the land, but it seems that's no longer a thing.... If you do litter, please get familiar with my face and don't be surprised when I smack you something fierce if I see you do it. Same with tossing your cigarette butts into the undergrowth.... If you're gonna play stupid games, you better be prepared to win stupid prizes. FAFO

Breathtaking water dam near the trail😍easy access, not much traffic. Parking is very limited, but plenty if parking if walking the trail for 9 minutes from nearby parking behind Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant.

This has become one of my favourite trailing spots in Brantford. This offers place a unique and refreshing outdoor experience that blends scenic views, peaceful and calming nature.

Library
The Brantford Public Library is a hub of literary and cultural activities in the heart of downtown Brantford. It offers an extensive collection of books and regularly hosts events and workshops for all age groups. The library is known for its friendly and helpful staff, adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, and wheelchair accessibility. Visitors can expect a well-organized space with various materials to choose from, including books, CDs, and DVDs.
Kids are loving it. Stuff very welcoming, smiling and friendly. Very helpful and many patients for questions of the kids. Central located. There is not just books. Other activities for the kids are provided as well. Always lots of fun. Parking is a bit of a pain.

Clean, safe and welcoming environment. Excellent and knowledgeable staff who really take the time to assist you. I always feel treated with kindness by the staff and they’re great with helping homeless people too. Great programs for kids and a huge asset to Brantford.
Maggie N — Google review
This location is crazy GOOD! The variety of books, audio files, movies, and games is above and beyond. And did you know that you can check-out rishing rods here? It's hard to judge a place because of a homeless problem, they are doing their best at controlling it but the police won't do anything. Never let your children go to the bathroom alone here, I found a bag of white crystalline substance in the women's room, I left to tell security but as i did a mother with a young child walked in and I needed to warn them. This isn't the place for quiet study either, the quiet area downstairs is always full of homeless eating, arguing, using drugs and sleeping. 5/5 for what the library can control 0/5 for what they can't, but that's not their fault
Deena C — Google review
I recently signed my 3 kids and I up at the library and we've made it a weekly thing. The staff were SO friendly in showing us around, getting us set up etc. The kids love that they can pick out books, check them out with their own library card. The children's area is huge and the kids could spend hours there. It is something the look forward to every week.
Samantha G — Google review
Really upset and has to leave the library mostly because people are loudly talking over the phone and gossiping. Most of the people are coming for entertainment instead of studying. Tried to talk with manager about these issue so she recommended me to move on the third floor or lower floor. Tried the 3rd floor and same issues are arising as people using phone on high volume and playing games or talking loudly and gossiping. Personally noticed that some of the students has to leave due to lot of distraction and disturbance. Now I am planning not to come to the library until this issue has resolved. I request the management if they can do the continuous checks on the 3rd floor and put the highlighted instructions on the 3rd floor clearly stating that this place is for study. I have no issues with the events going on at the 3rd floor and staff is really nice and cooperative and I am fed up by complaining all the time to staff and security regarding all these distractions. Moreover, about lower floor we can book study room for 2 hrs only and has no washrooms on that floor so it’s not worth to study on that floor. Please it’s my humble request to take any action on that and I really appreciate the work you do and the staff is really kind and helpful

Updated: Since moving to Brantford a few years ago I've come to this branch most often. Unfortunately it's location in the downtown core means there are times when the homeless come inside and have their "issues" and you feel you need to leave because you don't feel safe. They've only recently added more seats in the downstairs study are for people to use the tables. The Brantford Library could also use a better online system for their catalogue. It's not very user friendly when attempting to look up specific types of media. If you want to see if they carry a certain movie you have to look through every type of media (book, audio, etc) with a similar name. There's no search areas just for movies. They also don't separate TV series DVDs from movie DVDs like other municipalities I've lived in previously. If you're in the mood for a new British drama series to try you have to keep an eye out for them mixed in with the movies. It would be less time consuming if they had movies and TV series separately shelved. It's not that hard to do, Cambridge does it that way.

Location is covienent as its downtown. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. There are groups held here for kids as well as different events throughout the year. They have a wide selection of materials to choose from, and if they don't carry a certain book or movie etc that you are interested in, you can check if they carry it at the library located near the North End and request for it to be sent down to this location for you. Overall a great place to rent reading materials, movies, games, as well as a place to use a PC, printer, etc. Many different things to look into.

Nestled in the heart of West Brant, the Brantford Artisan's Village is a vibrant hub that beautifully marries art, culture, and creativity within its historic red brick buildings. Once a twine factory, this evolving district now boasts an array of attractions including Mash Paddle Brewing Company and the Brantford Potters Guild. Visitors can explore unique retail spaces and event venues like The Rope Factory Event Hall while enjoying gourmet food options such as poutine and craft beer.
Went down this alley way and found these amazing restaurants. Bought 3 poutine and they were delicious and certainly worth the money.

Fascinating market area. It's several former factory buildings converted into retail and event spaces. It still looks a bit rough around the edges right now but it's well worth the effort to find, has potential to be a great market spot. From work out areas, to gourmet poutine, coffee shop, craft beer, bicycles, comics, pottery shop, dance studio and several more it makes for a nice little outting to walk around the building's to see what's there.
The E — Google review
Great area that is growing with so many things to do. Careful in the driveway as it needs some work.
Tania H — Google review
Nice area. Lots to see and to do. Parking lot could use some maintenance, specially after some rain is just a mud pit. - may be they should start to offer mud fights and just make a rink out of it instead.
Jennifer L — Google review
Nice little pocket of good food, drink and entertainment. Check out The Rope Factory and Spool for some great poutine.

7th Coffee Co. is a treat and a mission on behalf of his son. The store is tucked to the east side of this niche property. Owner Mike Gatopoulos donates a percentage of his profits towards treatment of children missing the 7th chromosome. They roast the beans and grind fresh every sale. The flavors are broad and ethically sourced. Great gift for that coffee connoisseur you love to surprise.
